Tags: Meet Ugly, Steve and Dustin are brothers, pre-relationship
Written for the STWG daily drabble prompt: not a meet cute but a meet ugly
This is not at all how Steve pictured his Saturday going. He could be anywhere, instead, he’s standing in a comic book shop, fighting over a toy with another grown man who looks like he’s going to beat Steve over the head with it.
“Let go!” the guy yells, trying to tug the action figure out of Steve’s hands
“No, you let go!” Steve yells back, yanking it back. He has to give the guy props, though. He’s just as relentless as Steve is.
The guy sputters, an attractive shade of pink coloring his cheeks as his curly hair falls in his face. Wait, what? “Fuck off, why are you even here? Don’t you belong in a gym or something?”
Steve scoffs, still yanking. “Does it matter why I’m here? Just let go already!”
Dustin had been asking for this action figure for months now, talking about it and showing Steve newspaper clippings and TV commercials. Steve, being the good big brother he is, promised their mom that he would do his best to get it for him for his upcoming birthday. He’d be damned if he was going to let some punk, albeit a very attractive punk, take it away from him. Why did they only put three out on the shelf anyway?
They play tug of war for another few minutes, until the bewildered clerk, who had been watching their exchange, finally butts in and says, “Uh, I think I might have another one in the back? Can you wait here?”
They both nod, neither of them letting go of the toy. “I wish he would have said that in the first place,” Steve grouses, watching the clerk disappear behind a door. “Why they only put out a couple of copies of a toy I will never understand.”
It’s Hot Guy’s turn to sputter. “Toy? TOY? This, sir, is the limited edition statue of Kas the Betrayer that Wizard of the Coast put out to celebrate the anniversary of his DnD release! Not that you would care about any of that, you troglodyte.”
Steve has no idea what any of that means. “Oh, so that’s why Dustin wanted it. Makes sense now. He loves that guy.”
“Wait, it’s not for you?”
“Uh, no? It’s for my kid brother’s birthday. He loves that Dorks and Dragons game and he ran a Kas… uh… campaign? Last year? It was his first time. Kas is kind of a big deal to him.”
The other guy starts to look a little contemplative, but that’s when the clerk appears with another, much less rankled looking box. Steve immediately lets the one in his hands go and takes that one instead. “Thanks, man. I appreciate it.”
The clerk shrugs and heads back behind the counter. Meanwhile, Hot Guy tugs his hair in front of his face. “Uh, look. I’m sorry I said such shitty things over a toy. It’s just, Kas is kind of a big deal to me too. You could have just said.”
Steve waves him off. “No worries, I get it. But now we both have one.” He pauses and considers a second. It’s worth a shot. “You could make it up to me over lunch in the food court.”
Hot Guy’s eyes go wide. “Are you serious?”
Okay, wow. “Well, I was, but you can just say no, you don’t have to-“
“No, no, no!” Hot Guy says, waving his arms around, nearly dropping the box he fought so hard for. “No, I’d like that. Eddie,” he says, holding out a hand. That pretty pink flush is back. Steve kind of wants to see how far it goes down.
“Steve. Now let’s go, before any more wayward nerds decide they want to fight us over these.”
Eddie, dork that he is, bows and motions towards the cash register, “By your leave, my prince.”
Steve rolls his eyes. He always did like the nerdy ones.

Princess Treatment
WC: 910
Pairing: Yunho X reader
Tumblr media
“Can I have three powdered donuts, please?” She asked sweetly, the worker almost beaming at the sweet face ready to serve her quickly.
“Right away miss.” He bowed, rushing to put together the order.
The quaint shop was seemingly empty, but she couldn’t help but notice how homey the decor was, warm tones with odd accents here and there to make the place more inviting, magazines and books littering some of the tables making it look lived in. She found herself quite comfortable in the shop, that was until she heard the bell chime behind her, the clerk parking up to see the new customer while she idly avoided turning to face the newcomer.
“Can I help you sir?”The older male asked sweetly.
“Just give me her bill please.” The deep voice rumbled behind her, his body coming up to almost pressing against her before he spoke again. “Can you not run off like that again?”
“Can you stop letting women flirt with you?” She snarked still not turning to face the man, instead setting her eyes on scanning the variety of candy for sale in the small shop.
“Here you go, miss.” The clerk smiled, bringing her the box of sweets and taking her partner’s card to ring up the bill.
“She wasn’t flirting!” Yunho protested, earning an eyeroll from his girlfriend who turned on her heel to face him, slipping a hand into his pocket to grab the spare cash before heading over to the tip jar.
“Here sir, have a wonderful day.” She yet again offered a sweet smile as she dropped the large wad of money into the tip jar and grabbed the card after the transaction was completed. She turned to her lover who was watching her with a shocked face before yet again turning on her hell, only this time heading to the car instead.
“You sure do have your hands full with that one.” The clerk commented as he came to stand near Yunho to hand him back the large sum of money.
“Keep it, she knows a safe place when she sees one. She wouldn’t have left that money if she didn’t see value in your shop.” Yunho sighed, making a mental note of the shop’s name so he knew where to check next time she ran off.
“A sweet face and fierce personality is a dangerous combination.” the clerk said, placing a wrinkled hand onto Yunho’s shoulder with a wry smile.
“Yea.. Wish me luck.” Yunho said with an airy chuckle at the end before walking to his car quickly to not leave his lover waiting. Heading to his sleak black car he climbed into the driver side, instead of starting the car though he looked over at her with exasperated eyes.
She was eating a donut while scrolling through her phone, not bothering to clean up the sprinkled powdered sugar all over the seat of the car.
“Can we talk about this please?” He sighed, watching her sip on her drink she had gotten on their date to wash down the donut.
“She was flirting with you.”
“No she wasn’t.”
“She literally touched your hair.”
“I had food in it because SOMEONE threw a piece of bread at me.”
“She literally called me immature.”
“Well you’re acting like it right now love.”
“She bad mouthed your girlfriend and you’re agreeing with her?”
“You didn’t even give me a chance to say anything before you took off.”
“You smiled at the comment.”
“Sarcastically. I was about to ask for a new waiter, can you calm down and stop stress eating now. I know you’re feeling bad and that you think you’re overreacting, you’re not, your feelings are valid and how you handle those feelings is valid as well. I’m not upset, I just wanted you to hear what actually happened before you got too hurt by your own mind. I love you and everything about you, even how jealous you get.”
“So I dirtied your car up for nothing.” She said quietly looking up at him with watery eyes as guilt hit her. She had purposefully gone out of her way to break his no eating in his car rule, to try and upset him. Only for him to be the perfect boyfriend he always is.
“What do you mean?” He asked confusedly, tilting his head slightly, almost resembling a puppy.
“You don’t like people eating in your car, that’s why I got the messy donuts to get you as upset as I was. It’s petty and ridiculous. I'm sorry. I’ll clean it the second we get home.” She rushed out an explanation, hurrying to put away the trash.
“Now hold on.” He said almost sounding offended as he stared at her incredulously. She froze in her actions before looking at him wide eyed. “That rule never applied to you, and it never will. And when we get home, you’re going to sit your pretty butt right there and I will carry you inside, we will have a nice warm bath and I’ll do your skin care and your night routine with you, then we will snuggled up in our warm bed and handle the mess tomorrow first thing in the morning. Let me show you how much I love my princess.” He grinned, starting the car and quickly taking off before she had the chance to protest.
He’d give her the princess treatment whether she wanted it or not.

໒⦂ 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄’𝐒 𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐐𝐈𝐍𝐆.
synopsis. the general of the xianzhou luofu is absolutely knocked out, nowhere to be found, and you’re left to look after his son retainer.
genre. fluff + crack
tw. secondhand embarrassment..
for @melukonova <3
jing yuan x gn!reader.
Tumblr media
“i am not a child!” the blond haired swordsman whined out, sheathing his icy blade. “therefore i do not need babysitting!”
you let out a sigh, throwing your bow on your back as you caught up to the fuming teen. “i don’t wanna look after you anymore than you want me to. but your dad- i mean, mentor, ordered me to.” a chill ran down your spine. “and i don’t even want to know what would happen if i disobeyed and lost you.”
the dozing general, as your good friend sushang called him, was all lax and carefree until angered. you being you, the last thing you wanted was to see first hand what that anger looked like. after all, they did say the calmer ones are scarier when they snap.
yanqing eyed you for a moment before letting out a huff, unfazed by her reasoning. “what makes you think i would get lost? i’m perfectly capable of handling myself, i’ve been doing so for years now!” he argued before drawing out a hum. an idea. “but..” he dragged out, peering at you from the peripheral of his gaze. “if you want to waste your day chasing me around, i suppose you’ll have to keep up!”
and just like that, the boy was gone within a sprint.
your palm came in contact with your forehead as you let out an ( exasperated ) sigh. normally you would have left the kid to do his thing, but with the mara-struck soldiers around and all sorts of dangerous beings.. it wasn’t wise to leave him on his own, even if his skills rivaled or outnumbered your own.
“this kid is gonna be the death of me.” with that in mind, you bolted after him. “wait up!”
yanqing didn’t dare slow down as he maneuvered his way through the artisanship commission — a favored place of his. for awhile he’d been eyeing a sword there, but sadly.. he’d spent his entire paycheck upon receiving it.
which for reference, was last week..
however, two days ago yuan had provided him with the necessary credits to purchase the blade. hence his pursuit for the antique store.
when his peridot eyes found his destination, they sparked with relief when they caught sight of the sword. his prayers had been answered! no one bought it!
he took the antique meticulously into his hands, as though afraid it could shatter if handled incorrectly, as he brought it up to the counter.
“sir yanqing, you’ve returned!” the storekeeper greeted, smiling brightly. “the sword’s been waiting for you the entire week! since no one has come to purchase it, it seems it was meant to be with you after all!”
the ice user let out a chuckle, folding his arms proudly across his chest . “it seems so!” he grinned before reaching into his pocket. “same amount as before?”
a nod. “same amount!”
relieved to hear it hadn’t gone up in price, yanqing continued his search.. only to come out empty handed.
the boy blinked in surprise, reaching into another pocket.. and nothing again.
“i must have left it at the estate!” he mentally scolded himself before looking up with a blush coating his cheeks. “i-i um.. left my wallet at home.. is there any chance you can hold onto the sword while i get it?” he asked, praying the shopkeeper would say yes, but his apologetic smile said otherwise.
“i’m sorry sir yanqing, it would go against the store policy since we’re an antique shop — you sort of find what you can get..”
the young prodigy paled, whispers entering his ears around him about the blade. if he left, someone was sure to take it!
“what to do, what to do..”
“yanqing, there you are! i’ve been looking everywhere for you.” you called out, glancing between the blond and the store clerk. “were you going to buy this?”
his eyes widened at your ability to have caught up so quickly. he thought he’d lost you amidst the twists, turns and teleportation! it seemed his methods in slipping away still needed work. he could only wonder how the general had perfected his so well.
parting his lips, yanqing felt the need to interrogate you on your abilities in finding him, but he closed them right after, his curiosity faltering. “it doesn’t matter, i left my credits at home so i can’t buy it.” he mumbled back, cheeks burning as the words left his mouth. how could he have made such a rookie mistake?!
a hum left your lips at his reasoning before you reached into your utility belt, pulling out a sum of credits you’d received just yesterday. “how much is the weapon?” you stepped forward, holding out the bills in your hand.
the blond nearly felt his jaw drop at your actions. were you going to pay for him?? he couldn’t allow that — it wasn’t right!
“w-wait, y/n! i can just get another one some other time!” he blurted, tugging on your wrist to pull you back.
however, you ignored him. “will this be enough or does it cost more?” you asked, refocusing your gaze on the shopkeeper — who looked almost dumbfounded. how much did cloud knights earn?!
“um- it will do, y-yes..” the owner answered quietly, popping the register open before grabbing a tote. “would you like a bag with that..?”
you looked towards your blond companion, nudging him out of his daze. “bag or no bag?”
“n-no bag..” yanqing answered quietly, taking the blade off the counter before sheathing it at his hip.
Tumblr media
the walk to the estate was quiet, minus the rustling of the trees and gossiping of birds.
no wonder the general liked his naps so much, it was peaceful and much needed- considering his workload.
yanqing hadn’t spoken a word after saying he didn’t need a bag.
part of him was still disbelieved about it all. if it hadn’t been for you grabbing his wrist to guide him back home, he would’ve remained frozen in his place.
the silence didn’t matter to you though, your job of looking after yanqing was nearing its end. you could return to your post in about twenty minutes worry free.
“y/n, yanqing!” the general greeted at the gates, smiling that cat-like grin he always sported. “i was beginning to think something had happened that required me to save you both.” he teased, sliding his gaze over to his retainer’s hip before letting out a chuckle. “i see you went shopping. is that the one you’ve been eyeing?” he inquired gently, folding his arms comfortably over his chest.
the teen looked up at the albino haired male for a moment before lowering his eyes, shame overcoming him. “a-about that, i left my wallet here.. so y/n bought it for me.” he confessed, flushing like he did before. he felt bad to have you pay, after the way he behaved with you earlier.
and yuan had no issue picking up on this as he let out a hum. “really now?” he questioned softly, peering over at you for confirmation.
surprise crossed your features upon being addressed before you inclined your head. “he was worried someone would buy it if he left the store, so i paid. but it’s no issue at all! t-truly, general..”
the lightning user let out a hum. “i see. well i can’t let your kind actions go to waste.” he spoke up finally, raising a hand to his chin.
“that’s alright- consider it a gift.” you smiled awkwardly, waving your hands dismissively before flitting your eyes to the blond. “i hope the sword finds you well.”
yanqing felt his guilt creeping up on him as he watched you turn before he could say his thanks.
and then his voice found him. “w-wait..!” he blurted out, grabbing your hand, as you did previously to him. “you didn’t let me thank you properly..” the ice user spoke up, swallowing his embarrassment to look over at the golden eyed male beside him for permission. “can y/n stay over for dinner?”
“dinner?? with the general and his retainer?!” you shouted in your head, astonished that the boy was even asking such a thing when all he wanted was to get away from you.
“a-ah, yanqing that’s okay- it was a gift! therefore no payment is required.. and i don’t want to intrude.” your voice quieted at the last sentence, suddenly feeling flushed yourself.
you had a post to get back to and later a box of leftover takeout waiting for you at home. having dinner with the general and his apprentice was completely unheard of!
however, the general in question thought otherwise. “hmm.. i think the kid is right.” jing yuan finally said, lowering his hand to the arm over his chest. “you’re relieved of your duties for tonight. yanqing, show them in while i get dinner started.”
with that, the general was already walking through the gates into his grand estate.
and once more.. you were left to look after his retainer — or in this case, he was left to look after you.
“um.. this way.” the blond brought you out of your trance when he dropped your hand, moving a few steps ahead of you.
the walk was awkward to say the least, he was truly hoping for yuan’s assistance on this, but alas.. he had other plans.
perhaps this was yanqing’s punishment for forgetting his wallet behind. “have you visited here before?” he sliced through the silence, though not as cleanly as his swords would.
you slid your eyes to him, surprised to hear him speak, though you recovered quickly. “a few times to deliver messages, but never beyond the gates.”
the blond nodded in understanding. jing yuan was keen on not mixing home life with work, he liked to preserve his relaxing environment. which made sense, people came home to relax and get away from their job.
he continued onward with you, stopping at the small nook he normally spent time off in to grab what looked to be.. digital checkers?
your brows rose a little. despite yanqing arguing that he was not a child, he sure favored his games.
his eyes met yours — a wordless invitation.
it’s not like there was much to do. anything to pass the time ( and embarrassment ) will do.
Tumblr media
“alright, dinner is ready!” the snowy haired general called, walking out with a crockpot in hand — a culinary achievement of his. “who’s hungr-”
“HOW?!” yanqing’s voice tore through his question, causing him to blink. his retainer wasn’t one for losing his cool around others; had he missed something?
you surveyed yuan at the doorway for a second before lowering your eyes to the blond, lifting your shoulders at his outburst. “beginner’s luck?” you asked with an innocent smile.
only, he wasn’t buying it. “no way-! then i demand a rematch to test that statement!”
“how about you let our guest eat first.” the general chimed in, chuckling softly when the boy sharpened up instantaneously. worked every time. “i see you and y/n have been quite busy in my absence.. perhaps i’ll have to try my luck with them as well.” he mused, winking over at you.
your face heated up at the gesture, not having anticipated that of your superior, but you tried not to think too much of it.
sure he was a smooth talker and incredibly handsome. you’d even caught that foxian ambassador selling his pictures once!
however you knew better than to become romantically attached. least of all with your, quote on quote, boss.
even so, you couldn’t help those butterflies that crept into your gut at that wink. it was heart-stopping.
you took the vacant seat the boys had left you- across from yuan, ironically. once again, you tried not to think much of it.
but how could you do that after his fingers brushed yours so delicately when you reached for the ladle?
the way his golden eyes fell to yours and that dreamy look on his face with that lazy smile. no wonder you kept away from the general, you wouldn’t survive a day!
yanqing eyed the exchange, glancing between you and his caretaker. something felt strange in the atmosphere, and at this point, he was rethinking his choices on inviting you to eat. this was.. embarrassing to witness, and he’d had enough of his own share already.
still, it would be rude to send you home or question his guardian’s actions.
that, and he couldn’t help this weird, fuzziness in his chest. the little kid in him that yearned for that familial feeling.
granted, jing yuan on his own was a father figure enough — but right now, sitting at the table between you both.. he couldn’t help the rush of emotions he felt all at once.
he wondered if maybe, you would come again to dinner if he asked you to.
notes. hi queen i was trying so hard to get this out on your birthday but i fr blanked out and the creative juices went dryer than sumeru’s desert😐 anyway i hope this was what you wanted?? went from where’s waldo ( yanqing ) to very fluffy dinner??? first time writing jing yuan AND yanqing too, so i am um.. concerned for the portrayal. but i hope it satisfies you! and happy happy birthdayyy mami, mwah<3

I’ve been thinking about how how TF141 + König would react to the reader having a period accident..
Idk it might be weird but some peoples reactions have my heart, like when they're nice about it and help you instead of being disgusted by you😭
That's not weird at all. Got instant inspiration for this one. It's also spawned some little headcanons in my head so I might post those separately as well. Here ya go, let me know if it's ok 😊
141 + König helping you after a period accident.
141+König x Female!reader
König 🐙
You and König were walking around the mall when you got the feeling in your gut. That feeling that kicked you right in the pelvis and almost made you stop walking. Shit... Not here.
König was currently looking at some new movies when you felt it again, clutching your pelvis to try and help it.
"König..." You whispered to him, tapping his hip.
He hummed, looking back at you and the awkward expression on your face. "What's wrong Schätzchen?"
"I think we need to wrap it up early. I'm not feeling good suddenly."
König was worried now. "Are you alright? Are you sick? Do you need medical treatment in this moment?"
You shake your head, walking slower and stiffer, hoping to get home before it was too late. König could see there was something going wrong but he followed.
He kept a close eye on you as you both made it back to the car, by that time König was helping you in the car and noticed. "Y/n... I think you are bleeding."
You groaned, immediately feeling more embarrassed about it. "Yeah..." You just wanted to rush home and change. And get your clothes in the wash before they stained.
König however, grabbed the car keys and rushed back inside. He had no idea what he was doing but he rushed to the drug store at the entrance of the mall and decided to ask a worker.
"Hey uh.. my um.. my friend, she is hurting and I want to help her. C-could I get some help with the feminine products..." He was a sweating mess asking about it. But he wanted to help you.
The clerk was also super nice and pointed him where he needed to go and gave him a quick suggestion on what to get. So without a second thought he purchased them and ran back to the car where you were still holding yourself.
"Here y/n... I-I got those for you. And you can do it in the car if you want- I don't mind, and I won't look!"
He immediately shut the door and turned around. He waited nervously outside. He hoped that was right, that he'd gotten everything. He did want to help even if he wasn't the most knowledgeable about this sort of thing.
You felt happy that he went through all the trouble. It would... Work for now.
So you put it on and got out, giving him a thumbs up while he nervously fiddled with his fingers. After, König got in the driver's seat and looked at you. "Are you doing better?"
"it'll work until we get home. Thank you König."
"Yeah.. yeah! Of course! Now let's get you home."
Price 🥃
The two of you were at a barbecue with 141 and some other soldiers, you hadn't even noticed or felt anything, probably too busy eating and talking. You'd felt weird and had cramps that morning, but after an hour and no actual blood, you'd assumed it was early cramping.
Price was sitting in a chair, talking to Ghost about one thing or another when he happened to look up and over to you, in your white pants, clear as day...
"Excuse me Ghost." Ghost nodded, letting Price leave for a moment. He came up behind you and set his hands on your shoulders. "Y/n..." He whispered. "You've got a stain on your pants."
You look up at at him. "I what- I do??" Your face turned red as you soon realized what it would be. Oh you were stupid to wear these pants...
Price gently pats your arm, you were so lucky you were over at Laswell's house. "Come on, come sit inside until we can help ok?"
You nod, following him closely as he opens the screen door and brings you inside. He could see the embarrassment on your face. "That's alright y/n, we'll help you out. Let me go find Laswell alright?"
You nod, staying behind and waiting as Price went to talk to Laswell about the situation.
"John, everything ok?" Laswell asked. While she'd let them use her expansive yard for the barbecue she wouldn't be in charge of supervision. So she was in her at home office room.
"Hey Kate. Y/n is having a little... Feminine emergency. She got her period and I was wondering if you would have anything to help?"
She nods, coming back down the stairs to see you still sitting there awkwardly. "We'll help you out kiddo." Price assured as Laswell brought back down a box of sanitary pads for you. "I might even have a spare pair of pants for you to wear?" She offers.
"If not, I can let you borrow my jacket." Price finishes.
"Thank you guys." You head to the bathroom and start to figure things out. While you were doing that Price went down to his car and got his big thick jacket.
Once you'd come out Price handed it to you and let you wrap it around your waist. "Thank you Price."
He nodded and patted your shoulder. "All good. We'll get you set up properly when we are home, alright?"
You nod, unable to help hugging him tightly. Price chuckled softly and hugged you back. "Alright, would you like to stay in here or go back out with everyone else?"
"I think I'll be ok to go back outside."
"Alright, you let me know if you need anything ok? And we'll get you all set up when we get home."
Soap 🧼
"Yes captain." You smile softly.
Price gave you the next two days of leave to let the cramps settle down and you were very, very grateful.
Growing up with all girls in his house he still didn't know everything about periods, but they didn't disgust him. So much that avoiding his sisters when they were acting like soulless floor crawlers was habit.
But when he noticed you in need, his brotherly instincts for you came into action.
You were in line for food, just standing there when you suddenly looked very troubled. "Soap... I think we should go home." You whispered.
"You want to go home y/n? But we just got here."
You nod a little, stance a little stiffer. He frowned, and you could tell he knew something was up. "What's wrong? Are you not feeling good?"
You shake your head softly, rolling your hand over your pelvis. "I think I just got my period..." You whispered, barely that. But John caught it.
He nods, ushering you from the line up. "Alright, we'll go home then. Do you want to pick up some pads at the drugstore while we're here or should we head back to base?"
"I think I'm almost out on base..."
John nods, that settles it then. "Alright, we'll stop at the drugstore and we'll get you what you need."
"You don't mind? I know we went out for food... No a sanitary trip..." You felt embarrassed. You really didn't want anything like this to happen with one of the guys. You just didn't think they'd understand.
You felt like maybe Soap of all people would make fun of you. But he brought you back to the car and drove you to the drugstore.
"Do you want to walk in or stay here??"
"Can I stay..?"
"Yep, no problem. Just tell me what you usually get yourself and I'll be right back." He smiled softly.
You were embarrassed. Telling him quietly before he shut the door and walked off with confidence. He wandered the aisle for a while, looking for the brand before spotting it and... Oh just grab one of everything you never know. So he came back with a bag full of product to last you a very long while.
"Alright, here ya go. I can wait outside if you want to put one on now?"
"You don't mind?"
"Nope, not at all. Go for it." He stands back faced to the window of the passenger seat. Guarding it while you did your thing. And you eventually you tapped on the window and he got back in the car.
"Alright, let's get you home and set you up."
You nodded. "Thanks Soap."
"No worries, I get it. Sometimes accidents like these happen."
He got you home and set you up, settling you down for a movie and got you your blankets and heating pad. And yes, he did go back and get that food so you both could enjoy it.
Ghost 💀
Man's panics. He knows a lot about periods surprisingly, but they are not in his wheelhouse. He does not have the expertise.
But he is definitely reliant and always a good person to go to for some help.
The two of you were at a very, very high end event. Like the higher ups of your higher ups were there. The both of you dressed up in suits with all your fancy pins on them and the little hats.
It was a big deal and you were nervous. You'd assumed the cramping you'd briefly felt earlier was just from the little amount of food you'd eaten before rushing out the door that morning and your anxiety.
Ghost was off in the corner, watching everything. He noticed somewhere along in the night you'd grown uncomfortable and oddly stiff. Almost as if you were self conscious of something.
He assumed it to be nothing until you walked over to him stiffly, blushing from embarrassment.
"What do you need sergeant?"
"Ghost..." You whispered, making him lean in a little more. "I think I just got my period..."
He's totally cool on the outside but inside he is panicking. He nods. "Do you have... A bag or something?"
You shake your head. "No... I left it all at home..."
Ghost sighed and nodded. "Alright, I'll head back home and get your stuff."
You nodded awkwardly. "Thank you."
He patted your arm. "Just sit tight, shouldn't be long."
And with that Ghost excused himself from the venue and got back in the car, driving all the way back home. He searched your bathroom, grabbing one... Two... Ok three if you need it. He can't be too careful. And a spare change of pants and underwear if you needed it.
He came back with the bag and pulled you to the side. "Everything you need should be in there. Bathroom is down the hall, call me if you need anything."
"Thank you so much Ghost. Thank you." You took the bag and rushed off, delighted to find a spare change of pants as well.
Once you'd changed you came back out and gave Ghost a thumbs up, to which he nodded in approval and the event continued without a hitch.
Gaz 🧢
I just know this man is the kind of guy to hook up the bubble bath and say F You to the world for a while. So afterwards you get full spa treatment from him.
Will do anything to help you.
You were training with some of the other soldiers. A slightly chilly day though you enjoyed it and hadn't worn a sweater. You already felt warm enough.
You'd already been out there for two hours and any burn or cramp was just played off as what would normally happen. You weren't really thinking into it much.
You'd taken a break to relax and you felt another cramp right in your pelvis, making you groan as you bent over a little to hold yourself.
Some of the sergeants noticed the stain forming in your grey jogging pants. "y/n, are your pants dirty or something?"
This caught Gaz's attention who looked over, noticing your discomfort. You looked embarrassed as you started to connect the dots between your horrible cramps and your accident.
He gently pushed past the sergeants and got himself between you and them. "Yeah, I think that last load of laundry didn't come out right. I noticed it on my clothes as well."
You looked up at Gaz with relief as he gently tugged off his sweater and wrapped it around your waist.
"Come on, let's go get you to your room."
You followed, your cramps bothering you the whole way. Gaz got you to your room and grabbed out a fresh pair of pants and let you change and such.
Once you were done he came back in and helped you into bed. "Thanks Gaz." You whispered.
He leaned down and plugged in your heating pad and wrapped you in all your blankets. "No problem y/n, it happens. I get it."
"Do you need any more supply? I have to head out for a bit later and I could pick up what you need?"
"You wouldn't mind?"
"Not at all. Just helping you out. I can even pick you up a snack or two. Does chocolate entice your palette?" You both chuckle softly.
"I'd like that, thank you." You smile, already feeling much better. Gaz made sure you didn't need anything else before leaving you to rest.
And yes, he came back with everything you needed and a giant bucket of ice cream all your own.

Montana Blues
Tumblr media
Synopsis: When you moved to Hawkins, Billy Hargrove quickly became the pain of your existence. As an arrogant fuckboy trying to lure you into his bed, you take absolute pleasure in turning him down times and times again—even if he’s getting on your nerves. But when you find out that Billy practically threatened the entire male population of Hawkins to keep their hands off you because you are his, you snap. How fucking dare he?!
Words: 3714 Warnings: smut, lots of f-bombs
In retrospect, foregoing wearing a bra had been a really bad idea. The Indiana summer heat was near unbearable and it hadn’t even hit July yet. Fanning yourself some air with your hand, you breathed out audibly and tucked your white tanktop away from your sweaty skin with the other. You were soaked which had resulted in your nipples happily showing through the now see-through fabric.
Not a single summer back home in Montana could have ever prepared you for the boiling temperatures here in Hawkins. Naturally, you were not equipped for the change of weather yet. You had one old bathing suit and a pair of flip-flops that was on the verge of falling apart. A large bag, some beach towels, and some new swimwear were high on your shopping list but until your next salary rolled in, your hands were tied and the public pool was out of reach.
“Just this, please.” You placed the ice cream on the counter along with a dollar bill, envying the clerk behind the till because he got to stay inside this air-conditioned gas station all day while you, in just a moment, had to go back outside and melt.
The fact that you ran into Billy Hargrove of all people when you left the small store didn’t exactly help either. That man was sex on two legs and you were already too hot. Unfortunately though, his arrogant demeanour made him quite unattractive for the most part. You knew him because you’d given his sister Max a ride a couple of times. She’d been skating home despite the pouring rain so you’d offered to pick her up from the pavement on your way home from work.
He’d been trying to woo you ever since, only his usual tactics didn’t work with you. You’d seen right through them. A charming smile, a few flattering words, cheesy compliments, a nice dinner and then… sex and then of course the infamous promise that he would call but then never did.
“Hey, Montana. Enjoying your day?”
You rolled your eyes, unwrapping your ice cream in the process. In your current state… hardly. His sly smile was proof enough that he’d noticed your very visible nipples through your shirt.
“I don’t know how you guys cope in this heat,” you gave back.
Billy shrugged. “California’s worse. Why aren’t you at the pool?” He was topless, wearing only a red pair of trunks. Lifeguarding duties. He must have been on his break and getting a snack given the public swimming pool was right across the street.
“My inventory isn’t cut out for that yet. Besides, I’ve got more unpacking to do.”
“You’re still unpacking? You moved here six months ago.”
“Yes. Alone, and buying bit after bit. I’m on a budget, you know.”
Billy rolled his shoulders. “Sounds like you need a day off. Are you free Saturday evening?”
Saturday, aka the summer-BBQ-ball. The whole town had been behaving like high schoolers all week, asking each other out as if it was prom all over again. You’d heard of it and to be frank, you’d hoped that a cute guy would ask you to accompany him—not that you needed that sort of validation. It would just be… nice. A date with Billy, however, could only end in sex. Hot and really good sex maybe, but you did not move to Hawkins to get your heart broken.
You sighed. “You never give up, huh? I don’t know yet.”
“So you’ll think about it.”
“That’s not what I said.”
Billy grinned. “It wasn’t a no either though.”
“Will you ever give up? I’ve said no plenty of times. Take a hint, Hargrove.”
Billy only chuckled, almost as if he knew something you didn’t. “Enjoy your ice cream,” he said with a nod to your hand. You cursed. The chocolate on it was already running down your wrist.
Tumblr media
He was good at getting under people’s skin, you had to give him that. And he had quite possibly tried everything in his book to seduce you. Needed your new bookshelves assembled? Billy had shown up with a toolbox the same day. Your bathroom tab was not working? He’d had it fixed the next day.
Come to think of it, the man was quite protective over you too. You’d never seen a man more determined to get you into his bed. The thought of giving in to his advances had crossed your mind more than once of course. But you weren’t the type for one-night stands. No. Once you tasted blood, you were back for more and you sincerely doubted that Billy was going to give it to you. Or was he? What would that be called? An enemy-with-benefits relationship?
The fact that the electricity between you was practically sizzling didn’t exactly help either. You wanted to fuck him just as bad as he wanted to fuck you. You might have evaporated if he touched you or at least melted into his arms and let him do whatever he wanted to you, preferably with his face between your legs. You’d been dancing around each other for months now—to the point where your friends had claimed that it was only a matter of time until you’d both explode and pounce on each other like wild animals.
Luckily though, you soon didn’t have to think about that particular issue anymore. After you’d finished your ice cream, you stopped by the local building store to get paint for your bedroom when you ran into Andreas. He was a cute young man with dark curls working there part-time to save up for a house—for a family, he’d said the first time you’d spoken.
There were sparks between you for sure. Andreas was future husband material—so much more suitable than Billy, only… only a little less panties-wetting maybe.
“So, uh…” Andreas said as he rang you up, “ you going to the summer-BBQ-ball?”
“Maybe. It depends.”
“Has, uh… anyone asked you yet?”
You smiled at him. “Not yet.”
“O-okay. Then, well… consider this an official invitation? Do you, um… wanna go with me as in… you know, my date?”
His hand was warm when you gave him a twenty-dollar bill. “I would love to, Andreas.”
Take that, Billy. You’d show up with Andreas, have a good time and let him kiss you good night rather than let him tear your clothes off in your bedroom after taking you home. It had been about time.
Tumblr media
“Guess who has a date for the summer-BBQ-ball!” Andreas was beaming when he entered the bar and joined his friends at their table, waving for the bartender to bring him a beer. He’d just clocked out and was ready to celebrate now that he’d finally mustered the courage to ask you out.
“Who? Dude, tell us who you’re going with!”
Proudly, Andreas spoke your name—noticing only from the corner of his eye how the head of a certain Billy Hargrove whipped around in an instant.
Andreas tensed up when he watched him get up and approach with his beer in hand, smelling trouble the closer he came.
“I’m sorry, I must have misunderstood. I heard you’re taking my girl to the summer-BBQ-ball?” Billy put his arm around him, leaning against him slightly as if to prove how heavy he was—and hence, how much damage he could do.
“She’s not your girl. As far as I’m concerned, she’s single,” Andreas explained and swallowed.
“Yeah, come on, Hargrove, you can’t have them all. Leave some girls for the rest of us. You can’t chase after her forever.”
“What did you just say to me?”
“Billy, come on…”
“Listen… Andreas, is it? You take my girl out to that barbeque ball and I will give you not one but two black eyes and a couple of broken bones to go with that. Have I made myself clear?”
Andreas swallowed. “T-then why did she agree to go on a date with me, huh?”
“It’s complicated. But if you talk to her again, if you even look at her again, you’ll pay, understood?”
“Understood.” None of his friends made a move. Billy was not one to mess with even though he was outnumbered.
Tumblr media
“Oh, hey, Andreas!” Your phone had rung right after you’d finished blowdrying your hair after a shower. Now that the clock had struck seven, the heat finally became a little more bearable and you were ready to call it a day and enjoy your evening.
“Hey… uh… listen… I have a little problem,” his voice sounded at the other end of the line. “Something came up and I’ll… I’ll be out of town this Saturday. So… I won’t be able to take you to the summer-BBQ-ball after all.”
Your heart sank. “I’m sorry… what?”
“I’m really sorry, it’s… something I can’t postpone came in between and…”
“Cut the bullshit. I know you’re lying. Just tell me the real reason.” And I might leave your crown jewels intact, you added silently. You gnashed your teeth, anger mixing with disappointment.
It went silent on the other end of the line. Then, Andreas sighed your name.
“Okay, listen… you’re really nice and you probably don’t deserve that. But you didn’t hear this from me, okay? It’s… it’s Hargrove.”
You blinked. “What do you mean it’s Hargrove?”
“Well, as long as you’re on and off… no one wants to risk it.”
“What do you mean, on and off?”
“Come on,” Andreas said, repeating your name, “Hargrove clearly still has a thing for you. He won’t let any guy come near you. I thought you guys were done when I asked you out on a date today but he quickly proved me wrong.”
“What do you mean proved you wrong?” You were speaking slowly, putting stress on every single word.
“He threatened to beat me up, alright? Call me a pussy but Hargrove’s a bag of walking testosterone. I don’t have a death wish.”
“He did what?” you shrieked.
“Yeah… look, if you’re done with him, you’ll have to let him know. He’s been telling every single man in town to keep his hands off of you for months.”
“What?” You were screaming now.
Andreas whined.  “Now I’m deaf…”
“Sorry… Andreas, okay, just… forget about the summer-BBQ-ball, I’ll talk to Billy, alright? Thanks for the call.”
“Yeah… see you at the store I guess. I’m really sorry.”
The line went dead and you smashed the phone back on the hook.
“Oh, fuck me!” This was it. This had been going on for long enough. One by one, the puzzle pieces fell into place. Why no one had dared to ask you out for the summer-BBQ-ball. Why no man so much as looked in your direction which, even though you didn’t make your life dependent on a man’s attention of all things, had been nibbling away on your confidence. Andreas was the first man who’d shown you proper courtesy today. It hadn’t always been like that either. A young woman, strong and independent, you had caught the eye of a lot of men in town and then, one day, it had simply… stopped as if they’d found out you were practicing witchcraft or something.
Rejecting Billy was one thing but him ruining the prospect of a relationship for you? Not cool. Determined, you grabbed your car keys and rushed out of the house, almost forgetting to lock your door in the process and speeding along the way.
When you arrived at his house, your frantic knocking even alarmed the neighbour who was sitting on a bench on the porch. It was Max who opened, clearly disturbed.
“Where is he? Is he home yet?” you snapped. Max stared at you blankly and then stepped aside. She knew who you were here for, obviously. You stormed past her and toward the door that had a “Keep the fuck out” sign on it—without a doubt Billy’s bedroom—and barged through the door without knocking.
Funnily enough, he didn’t even seem to notice. He had his muscular back to you, lifting weights with a pair of headphones on. Sweat was glistening on his naked arms. The only two reasons that stopped you from licking it right off him were a, your seething anger and b, the fact that it almost traumatised you he was working out in this heat after a lifeguard shift. Oh, you’d lied. Three reasons. C was that you certainly wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of acting on your filthy thoughts.
With a scoff, you slammed his door shut behind you and then ripped the headphones right off his head.
“What the hell…” He turned, probably expecting to see Max. Visible surprise danced across his handsome face when he recognised you instead and set the weights down.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” you yelled, not even giving him a second to think about why you were in his bedroom—the one place you had not, under any circumstances, wanted to end up in.
“It’s nice to see you too, Montana. To what do I owe the pleasure of a home visit?”
“You told Andreas you’d beat him up if he went to the summer-BBQ-ball with me!”
Billy raised his eyebrows, seemingly unfazed. “The fucker told you?”
“He also told me that you threatened the entire male population of Hawkins to leave me alone! You have no fucking right to do that, who do you think you are, you arrogant prick? Can your fragile little ego not take a scratch? Is it so hard to believe there are women on this planet who don’t want to fuck you?”
“My fragile little ego? You want me, Montana. Why would I go after a woman that doesn’t want to fuck me when there’s so many that do, including you?”
Yes, you did and that was another fucking problem. You wanted him so bad you’d admitted to wanting to lick the sweat off his body only a moment ago—but you were certainly not about to tell him that. “For Fuck’s sake, Billy! I moved here only six months ago and you fucking find a way to ruin it! You fucking untell them, do you hear me? You tell him that we’re not a thing and that you don’t mind me dating other guys.”
“Untell them?” He grinned.
You glared at him. “You’re not even taking this seriously! You can’t just claim ownership over me like I’m a fucking object, Billy, I’m a person!”
“Come to the barbeque ball with me.”
“Excuse me?”
“I said come to the barbeque ball with me.”
“You’re joking. You’re fucking joking! I’m not gonna go out on a fucking date with you now that I know that you—“ You didn’t get to finish your sentence, not before Billy’s lips came crashing down on yours. He cupped your face, devouring your mouth like his last meal. His kiss was passionate and demanding and just like that… you were melting for entirely different reasons, your body reciprocating his kiss on its own accord.
Your body embraced him as if you’d been made for each other, the tension between you finally finding release. Billy’s hands slid over your collarbones and the side of your breasts, down to your waist and your hips. He stepped forward, forcing you backwards until the back of your knees hit the edge of his unmade bed.
He pushed you down on it without your lips parting, crawling on top of you to keep you from an escape you didn’t want to attempt. All hell broke loose in your mind, your brain ceasing to function any longer. All you could think of was Billy and how you wanted his hands everywhere on your naked body, especially between your legs.
He was quick to peel you out of your clothing when he finally let you catch your breath. He was still sweaty from his workout and you too were sticky again from the car ride because you hadn’t turned on the AC in your rage and hurry. They all landed on a messy pile on his floor until you were naked beneath him.
There were no breaks. Billy assaulted your neck by leaving a trail of wet kisses on the sensitive skin, a moan escaping your lips the moment his hands cupped your bare breasts. You parted your legs, allowing him to kneel between them. He got rid of his tanktop and tossed it away, revealing his upper body to you. You bit your lower lip, too distracted by his abs to notice him shuffling further away from you so he could comfortably place his hands on your knees.
“Want me to show what you’ve been missing out on, doll?” He didn’t leave you time to reply, instead buried his face between your legs. His tongue came darting forward to taste your arousal, teasing your entrance, nibbling at your outer lips and then… he flicked it over your clit—again, and again, and again, and again…
Billy closed his mouth around your sensitive bundle of nerves, sucking gently all the while his tongue kept playing with it. Your toes curled, your fingernails digging into his sheets. You threw your head back and moaned.
Fuck, he certainly knew what he was doing. Billy had you on the brink of orgasm in no time. You were about to see stars when he pushed two fingers into your slick warmth and fucked you lazily. But then… just when you were about to let go and fall over the edge, your walls aready clenching around his digits… he pulled away.
“What the fuck, Billy?”
“I want you cumming around my cock. Repeatedly.” Repeatedly? Oh fuck…
“C-condom…” you choked out.
“I’m on it, doll…” Billy reached for his bedside table and opened one of the drawers, pulling out a small and shiny square package. It didn’t take him long to get rid of his boxers, revealing his erection to you. Motherfucker, that man was very well equipped indeed. Average in length but a little thicker than the guys you had slept with before him. He stood proudly, his red tip leaking a little bit of precum.
You licked your lips, imagining sucking him off like a popsicle when he ripped the condom packaging open with his teeth and quickly rolled the thin layer of latex over his throbbing cock. His lips were on yours again only seconds before you could feel his tip press against your entrance, sliding in with no resistance whatsoever. Inch by inch, Billy sheathed himself inside you until you wrapped your legs around his hips, willing him even deeper.
“You good, doll?” he whispered against your lips.
“Yes, yes! Just fuck me already!”
“Been waiting to hear these words out of your pretty little mouth ever since you fucking moved here.”
But he obeyed, eliciting moan after moan from your lips when he started moving inside of you, fucking you senseless. He wasn’t gentle. Hell, he was rough and you loved it.
Every single stroke of his knocked all air from you. Billy withdrew almost entirely only to plunge himself back into you with so much force he kept hitting your cervix. Pleasure mixed with a slight hint of pain and your fast-approaching orgasm now that he sneaked his hand down to where your bodies met, playing your clit like an instrument.
“Cum for me, pretty girl.”
You couldn’t have resisted even if you had wanted to because only a fraction of a second later, you burst into a million pieces like a glass vase shattering its shards all across the room. You came with his name on your lips, clawed at his naked back, leaving angry red marks for sure as you kept contracting around him, milking him for all he was worth. Billy shuddered, you could feel it but he didn’t stop. As soon as you’d calmed down enough for your hazy gaze to return to him, he kept on rutting into you like an animal in heat.
“Again,” he ordered, his skilled fingers returning to your clit. You flinched as it was more sensitive than now but fuck, it felt good. So good that…
“Oh my god!” You arched your back when you came a second time and pulsed around Billy’s cock. At this point, you couldn’t tell anymore where you ended and he began as he fucked you through your climax.
“Again, doll.”
“No, Billy, I can’t… I…” You were tingly all over and you were pretty sure you couldn’t tell where up and down was anymore. Trapped in pleasure, desire and lust you were putty in Billy’s hands.
“Yes, you can. You can give me one more. Come on.” He was right, you could. You could when he wrapped one of his hands around your throat and put just enough pressure on the sides to remind you of his dominance and fuck, you loved it.
But you could tell that he too was fighting to keep his composure and hold out for a while longer. As soon as your third orgasm washed over you like a tidal wave, Billy grunted, his eyes rolling to the back of his head. He gave you a couple more frantic thrusts before he stilled and jerked inside of you, filling the condom with his seed. Fuck, next time you wanted to suck him dry and taste him.
Once you had both come down from your highs at last, he withdrew to get rid of the condom. His chuckle when you whined at the loss instantly made your heart beat faster.
Then, when he leaned back on his bed and crossed his fingers behind his back, you snuggled up against his sweaty chest. You two were a complete and utter mess in dire need of a shower.
“I’ll go to the damn summer-BBQ-ball with you,” you said into the surprisingly comfortable silence.
Billy chuckled triumphantly. “Good. Wear something pretty. I’ll show you off like a goddamn princess.”
Whatever would happen from here, you didn’t know. Perhaps Billy Hargrove would break your heart now that he’d gotten what he’d wanted. Perhaps you’d just officially become enemies with benefits. But you had to admit there was a slight chance that he’d just officially declared you his girlfriend too.

FAMILY BATHROOM
He had you in the family bathroom back against the wall, leg on his hip, panting, sweating and trying to keep yourself from moaning too loud. Now you may be wondering how you got yourself into this situation, that was by being a brat. Now Nanami loved his pretty girl, and he never wanted to hurt her, but there was one exception where he “needed to” and that was taming you. Nanami would always try to do this in the comfort of your own home but today he couldn’t even wait till yall got into the car. You were asking one of the front desk workers about the size of a dress they had and you had ran into one of your old friends from college, who just so happened to be a guy. Now Nanaimi was not usually the jealous type but this guy was really irking him.
“Hi I was wondering if you guys had an extra large in this dress, I Know it’s supposed to be tight fitting but it's just too tight.” you say as you put the dress on the counter.
“Yea let me look, wait Y/n?” the clerk asked.
“Oh my gosh David, how have you been?” you ask in disbelief
The two of you being talking and just catching up while Nanami was just on his phone. He didn’t really mind you guys catching but what he did mind was the way your so called ‘friend” looked at your body. All you were wearing was a brown bodycon dress with some brown sandals but the dress hugged your ass, thighs, tits and the cute pudge on your tummy anyone would look your way. Nanami wanted to show this little “friend of yours" that you were happily married so he got closer to you, put his arm around your waist and began to join the conversation. Once Nanami joined David thought it would be a good idea to change the topic of conversation onto you and your dress, Nanami didn’t like that one bit. He tried giving you subtle taps to let you know that it was time to go but you just weren’t listening. He then leaned down in your ear and told you but you just brushed him off and told him in a few minutes. Never, had you acted like that before so Nanami was in a state of shock for a bit. You however knew exactly what you were doing. You weren’t super comfortable with  the way David was flirting with you but you knew Nanami was going to be pissed and he was rarely ever mad so you took this as a chance to egg him on. Nanami got so fed up to the point where He just grabbed the dress in the size you needed, paid for it and grabbed your hand to walk out. You didn't even get a chance to say bye but that wasn’t on your mind right now the only thing you could think of was how you are gonna be able to get around after he is done with you. He brought you to the family bathroom and dropped the bag on the floor.
“On your knees.now.” he stated.
Now you knew we were mad but you couldn't lie about how turned on he made you feel. You didn’t know if it was the sternness in his voice or the way his face contorted into one of anger. You did what you were told and dropped to your knees and you knew exactly what to do. Your hands went to his belt and you blocked it only to see his rock hard cock poking through his boxers, practically screaming your name. You remove his boxers and begin to give him kitten licks up onto his tip, wanting to take it slow and steady but Nanami wasn't feeling it. The moment you wrapped your lips around his girth he shoved your head all the way down to his balls.
“Don’t breathe out of your mouth, use your nose baby.” he coos as he pushes your head down.
Multiple times you're tired to come up to breathe but Nanami keeps pushing your head down and just telling you to breathe out of your nose. It was only after your lashes and cheeks were drenched with tears and you tapped his wrist did he let you come up for air. You best believe that was the best breath of air you had in a minute. You were coughing and holding your chest due to the lack of air you were experiencing. He was making you deep throat him like this and the nigga still didn’t come, he def has a lottttt of patience and self control. Nanami dropped onto the floor to check if you were ok. Though he was pissed he wouldn't do that to you. Once he made sure you were ok he did a complete 180. One moment you were on the floor the next you Wanda were on the wall as hiked your dress up and he went down on you. Now no one, I mean no one can tell me that Nanami doesn’t give the best head. He was now the one on his knees and eating you out RELENTLESSLY. Ass n legs spread n he was being nasty with it. Dragging your tongue up and down your slit and then entering it inside. He was constantly switching back and forth with his fingers and his tongue but he wouldn’t let you cum, which was a punishment after all. To make matters worse this was a PUBLIC AREA so you had to cover your mouth with your hand so you wouldn’t make a sound and have people find out about the lewd actions taking place. Once he felt like he had edged you enough and got up, turned around and lifted your leg up to get better access He was still pissed so he didn’t even give you a chance to adjust to his length. As soon as he put it in you almost fell down due to his sheer length. Now Nanami wasn’t the thickest but he sure was long, but he had some width to him. His tip was already bruising your poor little cervix. Hips slapping against yours, my he have mercy and let you leave this bathroom with the ability to walk. He ruthlessly fucked into you, and to make matters worse he still wouldn’t let you come. Now Nanami only let out soft grunts but in truth he wanted to be a bit more vocal. Once he entered your soft gummy walls he felt like he wanted to bottom out right then and there, but he knew he had to teach his brat a lesson. Over and over he rutted into your pussy, animal abuse atp. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Finally after beginning, pleading and crying to your husband he let you cum. Anytime you came with Nanami it was amazing, but it was just something. Maybe it was being in a public area and being forced to be quiet or the fact that this was jealous sex but best believe this orgasm was toe curling and  brain rattling. After having such an amazing release, his cum bursting into you, into your womb gave you a euphoric feeling. You couldn’t even stand on your own anymore, Nanami had to hold you up because your legs had completely given out from underneath you. Nanami got dressed and so did you. He walked out fine but you walked out with a bit of a limp out of the family bathroom as if y'all didn’t just repopulate. The two of you walked out of the mall, got into the car and started on your way home. Nanami simply rested his hand on your thigh giving no indication that he was still mad so you thought you were in the clear. The two of you got out of the car and got inside the house. As soon as you took your shoes off and dropped your bags Nanami had you pressed into the wall and whispered into your ear.
“You didn't think we were done did you pretty girl?”
lmk if y’all see anything I can do better on n pleaseeeee lmkkkk🙏🏾

you had walked into the parlor with the intentions of getting a small tattoo.
after confirming your age and signing some documents, the parlor clerk told u that it was going to be a ten minute wait because your requested artist—ellie williams— was still with another client. you had already sent her your reference photo weeks ago, in which she replied with a quick cool:p and a link to her cashapp to send your deposit to confirm your appointment.
you’d been suggested ellie’s account on insta and u took note of how sleek her artwork was. she did it all: cartoon characters, realistic portraits, animals! anything you could think of, she knew how to do. her shading and coloring was incredible, and her clients had left nothing but praises in her comments. you would never say, but u took note of how good her hands looked in the videos that she posted on her account.
you were mindlessly scrolling through twitter after watching multiple videos of waffle house employees fight for their lives before you heard a raspy call of your name. your head perked up, and you made eye contact with the girl who’d been plaguing your thoughts since you saw her.
you stood outta your chair too enthusiastically as you hopped your way closer to her. “hi, i’m her,” you confirmed with a toothy grin.
you noticed how she took in your appearance with a lazy gaze from your head to your toes. you were in your usual attire: a lavender sweatsuit with a rhinestoned juicy slapped across your ass, hoop earrings, and slightly worn uggs with your small bag slung over your shoulder. your brightness looked so out of place in the dimly lit, grungy looking building. instead of shying away, you gave your own eager gaze back, taking in her own presence: a simple black t-shirt with matching jeans, a full tattoo sleeve on her left arm that peaked out from her actual sleeve, and vans. her ears were also heavily pierced. her get-up was nothing special, but she still had your knees trembling.
she gave you a quirk of her brow as her lips pursed slightly before she turned to walk you into her studio. “cool, my studios this way.”
she led you near the back of the parlor, pulling open the brass door for you as she granted you entry. you pretended that you didn’t catch her looking at your ass.
“you can just sit here while i set up, it’ll be like… two minutes.” she said calmly, nodding her head towards the tattoo chair. she sounded tired.
“long day?” you stupidly asked. of course she had a long day, you idiot! look at her! you mentally scolded.
she was sterilizing her tattoo gun before she replied casually, “yeah, i um… between you and me… my last client was a douchebag. i had to put my earphones to keep from decking him in his throat. he just kept saying snarky shit to me and thought i wouldn’t catch it. fucker didn’t even tip.”
let me make it better, baby! you thought. i want your tip!
“damn, that sucks, i hope i can cheer you up,” you said with a dreamy tilt of your head.
she perked her head up to look into your eyes before humming in acknowledgment, looking back down at her work table.
she broke the silence a couple minutes later, sitting on her rolling chair before scooting closer to you and leaning forward with her elbows on her knees, “so your reference is done printing, where were you thinking about getting your tat?”
on my puss—
you mentally shushed the slutty side of your brain, sitting up straighter in the reclining chair, “well i’m a dancer! i’m not allowed to have anything super… visible on my arms n legs because it’ll be distracting to the audience—“
“i never heard of strippers having that problem,” she said abruptly with a confused look. your face ran hot.
“i-i’m not a stripper,” you stuttered out before clarifying. “there’s nothing wrong with stripping! but i’m… i’m not. i do ballet.”
“uh huh.”
“i am! genuinely, i’m super flexible!”
“so are strippers,” she said blankly.
fuck. you were losing her.
“i mean it! my academy’s headmaster would lose her mind if she saw that any of us got something permanent on our bodies. i was thinking some place more…. discreet?”
“mhm. like where?”
“m-my… my um.. hip. like my lower hip.”
“okay. how low?”
“huh?” you squeaked out. fuck. really, really low—
she smirked at you before calmly replying, “how far down do you want your tattoo? it’s pretty small so it should be quick.”
“i don’t know. as far down as you can get it,” you replied slightly huskier.
“uh huh,” she said with a slight nod while licking her lips. “lay back for me.”
and you never laid down so fast.

Chapter 2:
Inside Voices
(Steven, no…) Marc's voice groaned out, glaring at him through the shared reflection in the glass door.
"But Marc! I've lived here for ages and didn't know this shop was here!" Steven beamed, smiling widely. Thankfully the wireless headphones he had on made him look like he was on the phone, and not completely off his rocker…
Marc ran his hands through his curly black hair. (You have enough books!)
"But this store might have books I don't have!" He pointed out.
(Just let him look, hermano.) Jake sighed, his reflection staring up at Steven from a puddle on the ground.
"Yes, thank you, Jake. At least somebody encourages my hobby!" Steven huffed indignantly at Marc.
(Jake, stop babying him!)
(Hey, nothing wrong with having a hobby?) The man snorted.
Marc rolled his eyes and slumped his shoulders, he directed a tired glare back at Steven.
(You gonna go in or just stare at the front door?) He finally asked.
Steven grinned like an excited boy going into a candy shop.
Marc really needed to have a talk with Jake about this. Steven already had too many books in their flat!
Steven pulled the headphones out of his ears and shoved them in his pocket as he opened the door, nearly jumping when the bell dinged.
He looked around, rather impressed with how much was inside a small space. Steven almost jumped again when the clerk spoke.
"Hi! Welcome to Here Today Books!" She said cheerfully.
🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
(I'm just saying, Steven… that's too many fucking books.) Marc said, crossing his arms at Steven through the reflection in the window across from his desk, cluttered with papers, folders, and books on various subjects of the Egyptian religious pantheon, architecture, etcetera.
"Oh, hush." Steven hummed, pushing his glasses up his nose as he examined the pages on one of the old books he held in his hand.
(Steven…) Marc sighed, exasperatedly.
"I know, I know." He sighed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. The stubble there was getting rather coarse. Maybe he could talk Jake out of growing that mustache or goatee he was thinking about…
Steven looked over and picked up the bookmark, sighing deeply as he looked at the gold-tipped rose sealed so lovingly in the plastic. Small vine-luke designs had been penned into the colorful sheet of paper inside the plastic as well.
(Very Beauty and The Beast, no?) Jake mused, his reflection from the mirror on the desk looking at Steven with a cocky grin.
It helped them, they found, to have as many reflective surfaces as possible in their flat; it enabled them to talk to each other simultaneously and "see" one another. Sure they could all talk in the headspace, and when they co-fronted it was almost like they could feel each other; rubbing shoulders, as it were, but sometimes you just needed to see the other person, y'know? Outside of your own head? Shared head? The terms still confused poor Steven, at times.
"I s'pose." He hummed, holding the plastic in his fingers gently, as if it were made of the thinnest glass. Absentmindedly, he pulled the sleeve of his shirt up and looked at the inside of his left wrist.
A mark was there.
A rose, to be precise.
Sometimes it would look like it was wilting, other times it was blooming and vibrant… other times it was closed, not ready to bloom.
Right now, it was somewhere between wilting and blooming. He wasn't sure what it meant. He thought back to Marc's ex-wife, Layla. And how he practically fell head over heels with her when they first met.
He had hoped, with Layla, that she had a corresponding mark… but she didn't. Layla was one of the few who didn't have a mark, or in the very least it hadn't shown up yet. Which isn't entirely implausible… But… something happened. After escaping the Duat, coming back to life, fighting Ammit… finding out about Jake.
They just drifted apart. The sparks that may have been there snuffed out, any hints at romance gone from the equation. They all decided it was better to leave it at that.
Well, at least they were all still on friendly terms, Steven mused. Layla still spoke to he and Marc via phone, or even email. It took Steven forever to convince Marc to ditch that "old dinosaur piece of plastic" he called a phone, and stick with his touch-screen.
Except… Jake. Ah, Jake. Layla never fully trusted him.
(Steven.) Jake said, getting his attention, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Hm?" He hummed, turning the bookmark over and over in his hand thoughtfully, eyes fluttering back to their mark on their wrist.
(It's my turn tonight.) Jake reminded him softly.
"Oh… right." He cringed. "Bollocks, I hate this…"
(I know, hermanito. But it has to be done, or the bad guys roam free…)
"All right, just… don't let me see any of it, yeah?" Steven sighed, placing the bookmark on the table as he put his hands in his lap.
(Of course.) Jake replied.
Marc stayed silent.
Suddenly, eyes flew closed, the jaw clenched; a bit of a sharp pain fluttered briefly through the brain at the sudden switching. They were getting better at seamless transitions, but sometimes some form of discomfort lingered. The body sat, almost like an empty vessel waiting to be filled. Whether it was five minutes or five seconds, it was unsure.
When the eyes opened again…
Jake was sitting where Steven sat. Steven's reflection wasn't in the mirror as Jake's had been, previously. He was left alone with Marc staring at him from the inky-black reflection in the window.
(I really hate that we have to do that to him.) Marc sighed, shaking his head.
"He's too gentle for our work, Marc." Jake said, clicking his tongue as he stood, walking over to the wardrobe in the corner and reaching out to grab his old leather coat. "He's too… good."
(I know.) Marc's reflection was in the fishtank now, where Gus the Second was swimming alongside… they really should think of a name for the other two.
Jake tugged the old worn garment on and pulled the gloves out of his jacket pockets with a sharp yank, flexing his fingers as they filled out the soft, well broken-in leather. Lastly, he pulled out that golf cap and slid it on his head, and looked at Marc.
(You don't have to see this, either, Marc.) He said to him.
(Somebody's gotta bear the weight with you, brother.) Marc said intently.
"Gracias por eso, hermano." Jake mumbled, twirling the flat's keys in his fingers as he walked to the front door.
🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
He sat, kneeling on the rooftop, his body hunched in a way that made him look like a gargoyle, unflinching and unmoving in his gaze; the cape gifted to him flared out almost like a long, tattered set of broken wings.
He wasn’t sure why he decided here of all places was a good place to talk. Why here? What drew him here? Was it the lingering joy and comfort Steven felt when he came in earlier that day?
The sign was hand-painted and in need of a new coat. Flecks of it had chipped away, the exposed wood beneath bleached by years of exposure. But… why was the bookshop important enough to stand outside now?
He looked down below, the curtains were pulled back still in the flat above, old lightbulbs casting a soft, orangish glow to everything inside. He could barely see from this vantage point across the street the boxes of books and book stacks lying on a desk in front of the window. Small knick knacks lined the sills, a hanging plant pot on the outside containing flowers of different kinds, slightly wilted from the lack of sun from the past few days, and now the night.
He stirred when he watched the young woman inside walk to the window in the living room and close the curtains; then tracked her movements as she went about her nightly rituals.
She seemed relaxed. Comfortable. Safe.
She didn't need protection tonight.
He felt the air chill around him, seeping through the wrappings of his armor.
“Jake Lockley.”
There it was. The voice he was waiting for. The voice that always knocked him away from his personal thoughts. The voice that told him of his duties during the night.
Khonshu.
“Yes, father?” Jake asked, standing up, turning to see the large imposing silhouette of a gaunt man, enshrouded in ancient, wispy linen wraps, a tattered shawl hanging from his bony shoulders, clenched in his fist; in place of a head was the dessicated and fleshless bone of a bird skull, small web-like tendrils wafting about here or there. Large, eyeless sockets fixed him in a crushing gaze, the skull tilting in an almost inquisitive manner.
(I wish you’d stop calling him that…) Marc grumbled from within.
“Have you located the evil-doers I sent you after?” Khonshu’s ancient and ethereal voice grated out.
“Yes. I plan on taking them out tonight.” Jake replied dutifully.
Khonshu tilted his head at Jake, and stood from where he sat on the aircon unit. “Now… Why are you here? This is not where you usually prefer to speak with me.”
“I… don’t know.” Jake admitted softly. “Felt like I had to be here.”
“Hmm.” The god hummed, stopping to stand next to Jake, looking down at the flat below. “Indeed.”
“Was there… anything else, father?” Jake asked, looking up at him.
“No. You can leave. I will issue new orders when our quarry is dead and dealt with.”
“Of course.” Jake bowed his head, pressing his fist over the moon on his chest; sparing one last glance down at the woman before walking away, leaping to another rooftop with superhuman strength.
Khonshu stayed. Observing, just for a moment longer, at the woman inside the safety of her home.
“Interesting.” He mused to himself, stamping his staff down and vanishing in a haze of mist.
🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒🌒
Jake panted, pulling one of his darts out of the chest of the man who had tried to previously shoot him just now. He sheathed the weapon and approached the shipping container, hesitating for a moment before smashing the lock open with his bare fist and hauling the heavy doors open.
Inside were half a dozen women and young girls, and children. Some of them naked, others half-dressed. Many of them were dirty and half starved, injuries evident on their poor bodies.
He noticed how they all flinched, backing away from him.
“I won’t hurt you.” He said, in a tone as soft as he could possibly manage, trying to ease their worries. “I’m here to save you.”
Jake leaned down and pulled the jacket off the dead body of the man he had just killed, stepping over the corpse to the young woman nearest to him.
She was clad only in her underwear, bruises and track marks lining her body. He draped the jacket over her shoulders, zipping it closed for her as he guided her arms through the sleeves.
“The police are on their way. You’ll all be safe, soon.” He said, his glowing white eyes fixed in the black abyss of his mask immediately zeroed in on three women, clinging their arms around a group of small children.
The youngest couldn’t have been older than three years old. Her eyes cold, far too ancient and haunted for one so young, clouded by the things she’d been forced to endure for the profit of her traffickers; her tiny body already bearing the scars of the abuse and trauma. Jake’s fist balled at his sides as he forced his breathing to try and calm; adrenaline surging through him again, a hot coal of rage dropping deep into the pit of his stomach.
He wished he could kill them all over again. He wished he could make them all suffer in ways they could barely process for the things they’d done. He wanted to–
His cloak was tugged on, snapping him out of his seething.
He looked down, and a small boy, all skin and bones looked up at him. He looked to be about seven. Could be older, as malnourishment can inhibit growth. His big green eyes looked up at Jake as he wrapped the edge of his cloak around his shoulders like a blanket, his dirty and grimy fingers clinging to the blood-soaked material, seeking comfort he so desperately needed. Jake felt his heart crack in two. He looked almost like...
He closed his eyes for a moment and kneeled, getting as eye level with the boy as he could.
“You’re safe now. They can’t hurt you anymore.” Jake said, his voice quiet, almost broken. He reached for a ratty blanket on the ground and covered the little boy with it, the sight of him covered in a bloody cape almost too much for him to bear.
He felt his breathing hitch when the little boy smiled up at him, gap-toothed and happy. He handed the boy off to a woman who looked to only be maybe nineteen.
“Stay…” He cleared his throat, looking at everyone within the container, standing back to his full imposing height.
“Stay here while I make sure it’s safe and I got them all. Someone will be here soon to get you all out of here.”
“Thank you.” One of the women sobbed quietly, clutching onto what looked to be her own child. They looked too similar for them to be anything but related.
Jake turned, his cape flowing out behind him like a white shadow as he stalked into the warehouse beyond, his fists already tight; the spiked knuckles on the back of his hands ready for blows he was all too eager to deliver.
He stepped over bodies, beaten, broken. Lifeless.
All at his hand. They deserved worse.
The eerie quiet of the cavernous space was only interrupted by the tinkling of chains suspended from the rafters, wind whistling through unseen cracks.
He could hear the sirens in the distance closing in, but he didn’t relax. He wouldn’t. Not until he was sure.
Not until he knew they were all dead.
Jake’s hands trembled with anticipation as that coal of rage ignited into an inferno, burning hot and low in his belly, sending sparks through his bloodstream. He was so far into that haze of red, he missed the man rushing him with a kabar knife.
He must have missed that one, the coward was probably hiding the moment the carnage broke out.
The moment he turned, he felt the blade slip easily through the wrappings of his dark armor, piercing the flesh and organs beneath, the pain tearing through his body like a macabre tsunami.
He brought his fist out, slamming the spiked knuckles into the face of the man.
The coppery scent of blood, the crunch of bones and cartilage filled his nose and were deafeningly loud in his ears. He was sure he watched his eyeball dislodge, hanging over the crushed and bloody expanse of his cheek as his body was sent flying into the cargo loader nearby.
The sound of his bones turning almost to powder overpowered the haunting ambience of the dark lair.
Jake marched over to him and gripped him by the shirt, rearing his fist back for another punch, even as his body hung limp in his grasp.
Only… he couldn’t land the blow. He just couldn’t. It was one thing to kill to protect. But it was another to beat a corpse that he’d already wrought with one blow. His ears picked up the sounds of shouting, sirens, bootfall. A helicopter whirred above, spotlight shining at the carnage below.
He stood, clutching at the knife still sticking out of his side as he dragged his feet, pulling the shell of his body outside, where he was met with armored police officers, wearing what he assumed was some kind of riot gear. The pain in his side was maddening, he almost didn’t hear them demand he kneel. But he did hear a woman cry.
He lifted his gaze to see the woman he’d handed the boy off to; the child still clutched in her arms as they looked over at him, their eyes locking with his.
“He saved us!” She cried.
“Don’t hurt him, please!” Another shouted.
“He’s a nice man!” A child sobbed, clinging to the emergency blanket around her frail body.
Jake felt like he could cry, he felt his heart swell to bursting; not able to tear his gaze away from the innocents he’d saved, that he killed for. Not even when one of the officers approached him, gripping his elbow to keep him steady.
The older man sighed, unable to cuff the man that the human trafficking victims were shouting and crying accolades for. Even if he apparently killed all these monsters bare-handed. “Come on, lad. Let’s get you looked at. We can’t leave that knife in ya.”
“I’m fine.” Jake mumbled, looking at the ground. His shoulders slumped.
“Like hell you are.” The officer turned and shouted for a medic.
“Perdóname, mi corazón." Jake muttered to himself. To someone else.
But as the man carrying the equipment bag jogged towards him, Jake gripped the handle of the knife and wrenched it free in one tug, blood spurting from the wound.
“Good God!” The officer gasped, reaching out to press his hand over the gushing wound. “Are you insane, boy?”
“Yes.” Jake mumbled, pulling his hand away from him, with gentle care that betrayed the violence his bloody fingers had wrought mere moments ago. He felt the wound close, the magic and blessed armor already performing its duty. Just as he had, so violently.
Jake straightened his posture as the medic and the officers backed away in a strange mixture of fascination, horror, and awe.
“Who… what are you?” The medic breathed.
Jake turned away, his gaze to the sky.
“I’m Moon Knight.”
And with that final goodbye, he leapt up, disappearing into the blackness and depths of the night, his heart heavy but relieved, cloak streaking across the shadows, as if to chase them away.

Coffee and rainy days:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been forever since you and Jack took a vacation together, and although you had technically been able to get away for a few days it was so brief that you weren’t entirely sure you’d count it.
Jack had been pulled in every direction imaginable lately so when his schedule allowed him the time to have a few days to himself he knew he had to use them to nurture your relationship. You never gave him any inkling that you needed that, you knew exactly what you signed up for but he still felt a sense of guilt when he couldn’t spend a lot of time with you.
He woke up before you, which was a miracle in itself. He lightly brushed his fingertips against your arm, whispering your name before kissing your cheek.
“Baby, wake up!”
“Hmmm?” You yawned realizing that he had already showered for the day.
“Without me?” You teased with one eye open.
“I didn’t think you’d want to miss breakfast so I hurried and ordered it” he hummed motioning toward the bar cart of food.
Just then your stomach audibly agreed with him, making the two of you giggle.
“Let me just shower really fast” You hopped out of bed and scurried to the bathroom, catching a glimpse of your stuffed French toast.
“Have I ever told you, I think you’re my soulmate?”
Jack blushed, smiling ear to ear at your comment. “Go shower!” He chuckled as he sat up from the bed and started to place the food on the table.
When you got out of the shower, you walked over to him, kissed him and pulled back gently on his bottom lip.
“I love it when you do that” he handed you your utensils as you began to eat.
“The coffee here sucks, so I thought maybe we could go find a shop nearby?”
“Whatever you want babe” You nodded as you took a bite of your French toast, rolling your eyes back dramatically and heavy breathing.
“You’re about to make me jealous of your breakfast, stop that” he rasped, half joking.
You couldn’t contain the giggles that constantly came out of you when you were around him, something that had never happened to you before but you embraced it.
After you got dressed, specifically in a body suit, brown 550s, and NB lounge pants that Jack had gotten for you the two of you left the hotel and started to walk down the street together.
“I hope it doesn’t rain on us” You looked up at the sky which was angry and gloomy looking.
“I don’t think so” Jack shrugged, grabbing your hand as you walked together.
After you walked for a few minutes you pulled him into the nearest souvenir store, earning a chuckle from him as he never quite understood your fascination but embraced it anyway.
“You need this” You handed him a magnet with a goofy quote and character on it.
“I need this huh?” He stifled a laugh.
“Yeah, because it looks like you” you joked only earning an over-dramatic gasp in return.
The store clerk very obviously knew who Jack was and kept her eyes on him the entire time. You couldn’t blame her, the way he was dressed today and just his overall face was worth staring at.
You selected a few stickers, noticing Jack had kept the magnet you handed him earlier. He took your things from you and handed them to the cashier as he took his wallet out immediately.
“Thank you baby” you whispered, but the cashier still heard making a noticeable sour face.
Jack pretended not to notice, for his sanity as she bagged up his small purchases and asked for a picture.
As the two of you left the store you noticed a coffee shop across the street.
“Do you still want coffee?”
“Yeah, it’s freezing out here” he dramatically shivered and you laughed knowing he typically ran cold.
He ordered a coffee for himself and a hot cocoa for you. “Do you want to sit outside?”
“Aren’t you cold?”
“I ordered a hot drink, I’ll be fine sweetheart” his eyes softened at your worry for him.
“I’ll go get a table then” You stood on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek before you found a table to sit at.
Jack brought you your drink and a cookie, before rushing back inside to grab his drink.
“I love this man” you mumbled to yourself smiling as you took in how truly selfless he was.
When he came back and sat down with you, you realized how long you had been walking and that you were pretty far from the hotel.
“What’s on your mind?” Jack sat back in his chair, eyeing you.
“Just love you is all” you hummed, reaching for his hand.
“I love you too, and I’m sorry that I’ve been so busy.”
“You know I hate when you apologize for working” You sipped your cocoa giving him a look with a raised brow.
He smiled, knowing that to be true.
Suddenly you felt a raindrop, your eyes widened as you looked up at the sky.
“Jack, we should probably go.”
He squinted as he looked up at the sky, the sun still slightly shining through the dark heavy clouds above.
“Probably a good idea.”
The two of you started your walk to the hotel, the raindrops becoming more and more consistent.
“Fuck” Jack groaned looking at the stores nearby for an umbrella.
“Baby, I doubt we’ll find one here.”
“Rain wasn’t even on the forecast today” he groaned and you laughed knowing he was always checking the weather.
“Can you finally admit that, that thing isn’t accurate now?” You poked his side making him jump as he was extremely ticklish.
“I will do no such thing!” He smiled as the rain only continued. You started to shiver as the two of you hurriedly walked to the hotel.
“Baby, are you cold? That bodysuit is thin” It was his turn to worry about you.
You sniffled, “I’ll be fine. Let’s just try and hurry.” You wiped your nose, as your hands trembled.
Jack took his sweater off, handing it to you.
“Baby, you’ll catch a cold.”
“I don’t think that’s a real thing” he chuckled as you quickly put his warm sweater on.
“It actually is a real thing” you sighed knowing there was no way to convince him otherwise.
“If I get sick I’ll be forced to take time off and you can be my nurse” he wiggled his eyebrows at you.
“Should’ve known you had ulterior motives” you giggled.
When you got back inside the hotel and to your room the two of you were completely soaked. You had mascara running down your face and Jack's curls were flat, damp and frizzy.
“Holy shit” he laughed as you both took a look at one another.
“You look like you jumped into a pool” he exclaimed.
“Your nose is so red!” You stood on your tip toes to kiss him, his nose cold as it pressed against your face.
“Looks like we are taking that shower together after all” he smirked and you giggled, taking your phone out before removing any clothing.
“We need a picture to remember this” you smiled, making him stand in front of the hotel room mirror with you.
“I don’t think that we’ll ever forget this” he laughed but posed with you anyway.
“I’ll remember it as the day your weather app was wrong” you teased, as he followed you into the bathroom to get undressed.
“You’re never letting that go, are you?”
“Not ever” you giggled as the two of you got into the warm shower.

We finally meet Echo! :)
I didn't have as much time as I thought I would this week, so have a sketch with some colors slapped over it... sorry :|
Also, I think I settled on a name for the fic. Does "Raising Dominoes" sound okay? In any case, here's Chapter 5 - Echo, I hope you enjoy!
Prologue: 00 Previous Chapter: 04 Next Chapter: 06
Summary: Rex and Fives visit Echo in the ICU.
CW: Implied/referenced child abuse, missing limbs, hospitals
Chapter 5 - Echo
The waiting room was packed with people. Even though he had told Cody to go home earlier that morning, Rex made a quick scan for him, but it was too difficult to see over the hordes of visitors and patients. Fives was also looking around the room fervently.
“Rex, sir?” The boy asked straightening up and squaring his shoulders to address Rex.
“Yes, little soldier?” Rex joked, guiding Fives towards the front desk.
“I don’t see Echo.”
“Echo is in one of the rooms back there,” Rex explained, pointing to the door leading to the rest of the hospital. “This is the waiting room. It’s for people waiting to get help or people waiting to see friends or family in the hospital.”
“Do we have to wait here to see Echo?”
“We’ll see,” Rex said as he approached a young man behind the desk.
The man looked up and smiled, “Hello, how may I help you today?”
“We’re here to get Echo,” Fives piped up in a slightly more authoritarian tone than Rex would have expected from him.
“Echo Se, we’re here to see him,” Rex clarified, ruffling Fives’s hair.
“Right, of course, sir,” The man behind the desk nodded, but paled a bit and shifted forward in his chair to see Fives over the desk.
“Problem?” Rex asked, raising a brow.
The man smiled nervously, “We don’t allow children under the age of 12 to visit patients in the ICU, sir.”
Shit. Rex hadn’t thought about age limits on visitation. He looked down at Fives, then gritted his teeth and leaned in closer to the man, “Look, they’re twins, and I promised he’d be able to see him today.”
“I’m sorry, sir,” the man replied still hiding behind a false smile. “It’s hospital policy. For the health of our patients and your sons, I can’t make an exception.”
Rex sighed, moving away from the man. He was right. It would be bad if Echo got sick in his condition. But, had Cody not said Kix thought they could visit? Maybe he could drop Fives off with Cody and visit Echo and have them face time, or-
“Rex!” A familiar voice cut through his thoughts.
Rex’s eyes shot up as a lean man with an intricate buzz cut pushed through the doors leading to the ICU, “Kix!”
Kix’s white coat billowed out behind him as he strode over to the desk and smiled down at Fives, “And this little one must be Fives.”
Fives tried to mirror Kix’s cheery expression but fell short as his attention turned on the door swing shut behind the man. To quell any temptations of running off through the ICU looking for Echo, Rex put a hand on the boy’s shoulder.
Kix walked behind the desk and leaned down to whisper something to the man. The clerk’s face turned a little pale as Kix pulled away to smile at Rex and Fives, but he nodded and began typing away on his computer.
“I cut a little deal for you two,” Kix said, motioning for them to follow him through the door.
Fives looked up at Rex and Rex nodded his permission to follow Kix into the ICU. The boy smiled and ran to catch up.
Rex looked over at the clerk. He was deliberately avoiding eye contact and his hands trembled at the keyboard. Rex sighed out a sympathetic “thanks” to the poor man before following after Fives. He sometimes forgot how scary Kix could be.
The ICU was full of doctors, nurses, technicians, patients and visitors, and others Rex couldn’t quite place. Most moved with purpose and didn’t give the trio a second glance, but a few workers shot Kix inquisitive looks. None of them approached them though.
They took a few turns before Kix stopped outside a bathroom and ushered them inside, “We have to get all cleaned up before we see Echo.”
Fives nodded in understanding and began washing his hands at the sink. Rex and Kix joined him and soon Kix was ushering them back out the door.
“Now Fives,” Kix started as he stopped again outside a room. “I know it’s going to be really hard, but it’s important that when we go in to see Echo you don’t touch anything, okay?”
Fives nodded.
“No touching any of the machines and definitely no touching Echo.”
Fives looked up at Rex before turning back to Kix and nodding again.
“It’s because he had a lot of surgeries and if he got sick or hurt right now, it would be really bad, so we don’t want him to get sick because we spread him our germs.”
Fives nodded again.
“And it’s really important if you start to feel sick that you leave the room as soon as you can and try to make it to the bathroom.”
“Okay,” Fives said in a small voice.
Kix nodded and opened the door, walking in before Fives could sneak his way past, and situating himself in the far corner of the room.
After Rex shut the door behind him, he was met with a dim room, the only light coming from behind closed blinds and the lights on the countless machines hooked up to a small body lying on the bed under papery white sheets. Fives stood motionless at the foot of the bed. Rex made his way over to the boy and put his hand on his shoulder. Fives looked up and Rex saw tears spilling down his cheeks.
“Here, come here,” Rex said softly, picking up the boy carefully.
As soon as Fives was in Rex’s arms, he wrapped his limbs around him, holding on for dear life and trembling with each sob. Rex stepped over to a chair at Echo’s bedside and sat down, carding his hand through Fives’s hair as he held him.
At Echo’s bedside Rex had a much better view of Fives’s sleeping twin. They looked identical, the only differences being Echo’s slightly shorter hair and the noticeable lack of lumps under the covers where his legs and right arm should have been.
Fives sobbed into Rex’s shirt loudly and Rex grimaced, “How are you feeling, Fives? Do we need to step out for a bit?”
“N-no!” Fives shouted, squeezing Rex harder.
At Fives’s shout Echo’s whole body seemed to convulse and Rex looked to Kix, thinking maybe the boy was having a seizure. Kix didn’t look up from Echo’s body, but he also didn’t move to help, so Rex turned his attention back on the boy in the bed. His eyes were open now, but looked glassy and unfocused, staring towards the ceiling. He looked dead.
Fives’s turned his head from Rex’s shoulder to face his brother, “Ech- Echo?”
Echo’s eyes didn’t move, but he did open his mouth in response, and panicked but hoarse and weak words spilled out, “We- we need to get to the wall to escape the citadel. No. I’ll go first. No. No. No! N-”
“Echo,” Rex interrupted softly as Fives buried his head back into Rex’s shirt and let out a wave of fresh sobs.
The boy stopped babbling, but his breathing became more and more labored.
Rex wanted to pull the injured boy into his embrace as well, but refrained, “Fives came to see you. Fives is here.”
Rex extracted Fives from his torso and turned the boy around so he would be facing Echo before placing him back down in his lap.
“Fives…” Echo said drowsily, almost as if he were in a trance.
“Echo, I’m here,” Fives said tenderly, though his voice was still shaky from the tears.
“Fives.”
“I’m here.”
“Fives?” Echo shifted his head and locked eyes with his brother.
“Eh-Echo!” Fives tried to reach out to his brother, but Rex restrained him. “You’re okay!”
Echo flinched away from the noise and Fives looked from his brother to Rex with a hurt expression.
“It’s too loud for him,” Kix explained. “Sometimes that happens when you hurt your head. We just need to be quieter.”
“Sorry,” Fives whispered.
Echo turned back to Fives, brow scrunched and eyes searching his brother’s face, “What- what happened? Where are we?”
“You got hurt,” Fives supplied. “We’re in the hospital.”
Echo began to look panicked.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now,” Rex said. He needed the boy to hear that, even if he probably didn’t believe it yet.
Surprisingly the words seemed to calm the injured boy down, so much so that he drifted back off to sleep.
Fives twisted to look at Rex, confused, “W-why’d he go back sleep? He- he just woke up.”
“He has to get a lot of sleep right now because his body is healing.”
Fives turned back to Echo and Kix walked over to the bed and adjusted the blankets to fit around the boy more snuggly.
“Should we let him get his rest?” Rex asked the doctor.
Kix nodded, “We can talk in the waiting room with Cody if you want.”
“Cody’s still here?” Rex said incredulously, standing with Fives in his arms to follow Kix out the door. “I told him to go home and get some rest.”
Kix shrugged, leading them out into the hallway, “I told him the same thing.”
The trio made their back to the waiting room quickly and found Cody dosing in one of the corners.
“Cody,” Rex said as he sat in the free seat next to his brother.
Cody woke with a start, then locked eyes with Rex, “Sorry, I must have fallen asleep.”
Rex shrugged, “I told you to go home anyway.”
“Didn’t want the kid to be alone.” Cody looked from Rex to Kix, “How is he?”
Kix crossed his arms in front of him and leaned against the wall, “All things considered, he’s doing really well.”
Fives looked up at Rex from his perch on his lap, eyes full of hope.
Kix continued: “The good news is so far the surgeries seem to have gone successfully and he appears to be on the mend. We have him on a morphine drip for now to keep him comfortable, but I’m hoping we can get the dosage lower soon. The broken ribs and concussion all we can recommend is rest. For the legs and arm, once he’s feeling well enough that he can stay awake for more than a few minutes at a time, we’ll start physical therapy. It’s going to be a long and painful road to recovery, and even with the best of the best, there’s no guarantee he’ll ever walk again.”
Rex and Cody nodded simultaneously with matching grim expressions.
“When can we- When can he leave?” Fives asked, looking to Rex for the answer.
Rex looked to Kix, who responded to the boy in an even tone, “We’d like to get him moved to the regular part of the hospital in a few days. Then he’ll probably stay there for around another week if things continue to go well. After that he’ll be able to go home.”
“Can we see him again?” Fives asked in a small voice.
Kix smiled, “Once we move him to the hospital you can visit him any time you like. Does that sound okay?”
Fives nodded.
“Do you have any other questions?”
The boy shook his head slowly.
Rex had so many, but he was not sure all of them were suited for Fives’s ears, so he kept his mouth shut and shook his head, “Thank you, Kix.”
“Don’t mention it,” Kix smiled cheekily. “It’s my job.”
Cody snorted.
Kix pointedly ignored Cody’s obvious eyerolling, “If anything comes up, you already have my number.”
As Kix weaved his way out of the waiting room Cody stretched back in his chair and turned to Rex, “How’s everything going with you two?”
“Good,” Rex said, looking down at the small boy in his lap. As Kix would say, all things considered, things were going surprisingly well. Fives seemed to trust him—as long as he wasn’t yelling at him—and was fairly easily calmed down with physical contact. Rex could tell Fives was a good kid and already knew he would do anything for the boy’s happiness.
Cody nodded, then turned to Fives, a slight upturn to his lips, “He treating you okay?”
Fives nodded vigorously, “He let me sleep in a real bed and we made pancakes! Do you know what pancakes are?”
Cody’s eyes flicked to Rex’s for a millisecond in what Rex could only assume was horror, before they focused back on Fives, feigning innocence, “No. What’s a pancake?”
Five’s face lit up, “It’s a food that you make from a box. You mix it all up and then pour it in a pan and you get to flip it! Then you eat it when it’s done. And you get to put syrup on it!”
Fives was breathless by the end of his choppy explanation.
“Was it good?”
Fives nodded in an exaggerated movement.
“I’ll have to try it sometime then,” Cody said, standing from his seat.
Rex stood as well, depositing Fives at his feet, “Echo’s in good hands, you should go home, Cody.”
Cody nodded, “What’s your plan for the day?”
“Give you a ride back to the station, then I think we might go to the store and get Fives and Echo some things they’ll need.”
“Sounds like a good idea,” Cody praised as they walked towards the exit. “If you need any help, Kix said Hardcase is suspended again this week. Give the kid something to do.”
Rex searched Cody’s face for any hints on what possibly could have happened this time, but Cody just shook his head sadly.
Rex sighed, “We’ll pick him up on the way to the mall.”

62 &/or 71 for platonic stobin perhaps?
62: It's okay to cry & 71: You are the single best thing to happen to me.
Thank you very much for this, I love these prompts and got real carried away with this! I hope you enjoy!
If you had asked Robin Buckley to describe her relationship with Steve Harrington back in her freshman year, she'd laugh in your face.
Why on earth would King-Steve be caught talking to her, let alone do it enough to constitute a relationship?
He was a popular jock, and Robin was a freshie with a trumpet.
It wasn't how things worked.
Steve operated on the outside of her periphery. She had an awareness of him, his actions in the popular crowd. Like any minor celebrity, the gossip mill ran rampant with tales of King-Steve.
"Harrington scored the winning shot at last night's game! Not many Juniors get opportunities like that!"
"King-Steve told Tommy to leave Harvey alone cuz he's just a freshie, saved him from a swirlie -swear to God man".
“Yeah well, I heard he broke Byer’s camera the other day, so--”
"Have you seen his hair, ugh he's so dreamy!"
To which Robin thought, 'I've seen him leave half a bagel of crumbs all over his English notes, how dreamy can he be?'
And to top it all off, Tammy Thompson wouldn't stop staring at him, twirling her long blond hair around her pink varnished nails while reading sonnets from Romeo and Juliet loudly at her cafeteria table, trying valiantly to catch his eye --peak romance right there.
But Robin wasn't quite ready to think about how much she wished Tammy would bat those long lashes at her, nah, hating Steve Harrington was easier.
Besides, he had no idea she existed, right?
Robin grabs a can of Coke from the fridge, reaching into her pocket for change before joining her mother at the till.
The corner store was all the way out on Main Street, but still closer to home than Mevalds or the grocer on Parsons so Mrs Buckley had stopped for a few things on their way back from Robin's band practice.
She slides the change onto the counter and pops the tab before throwing a thumb over her shoulder, "I'll go wait by the car mum".
Mrs.Buckley nods distractedly, waving her hand with a smile and she hunts through her purse for her checkbook.
Robin makes her way down the aisle to the entrance, the little bell above the door jingles lightly. She steps over the threshold into cool November air and shrugs her jacket collar up against the chill.
She sighs as she looks back through the window, her mom seems to be taking her sweet time, chatting with the clerk now and going through her checkbook with a smile.
A muffled groan catches her attention from across the lot, she tilts her head towards the sound and startles when she spots Steve Harrington, the bane of her existence, leaning against a car with a can of soda pressed to his beaten bloody face.
He hasn't seen her, his eyes are trained at a point just ahead of him as he rolls the can over his split cheek.
What the hell?
Robin leans away, keeping herself behind her mom's station wagon and out of his sight line.
Who would have kicked the shit out of old King-Steve? And where were his two cronies Hagan and Perkins? She had so many questions and--
Steve sniffs once, pushing the heel of his free hand into his eye as he drops the hand holding the can.
Oh.
Robin suddenly feels as though she's intruding on something private. Watching this boy she's never talked to, who she saw last Monday walking with the rest of the basketball team into the cafeteria, Nancy Wheeler hanging off his arm with an affectionate roll of her eyes and the biggest grin plastered all over his dumb face.
But this Steve is hurt and alone and smaller than she's ever seen him before.
It's bizarre.
Suddenly he's moving, throwing the can to the gravel and stepping off the car before sliding his arm across his face in one motion, he clears his throat and throws open the driver's side door.
The engine of his beemer roars to life just as Robin's mother exits the store, she frowns as Steve peels out of the parking lot, brakes squealing.
"Honestly, why they give teenagers licenses, I'll never know," Mrs.Buckley mutters under her breath as she unlocks the car and hands Robin the paper bag, "do you know that boy?"
Robin watches as the tail lights of Steve's car disappear around the corner, the image of his hunched shoulders and black eye branded in her mind's eye.
Robin shrugs once as she opens the passenger door, "Not really".
***
It's not until two years later that Robin crosses paths with Steve again, slinging ice cream with the former King down at the new mall.
Her first job and it’s at some horrible sailor themed ice cream shop of all places and to top it all off, she’s stuck with Steve Harrington.
Sure, she'd seen him in passing at school, watching as he slowly fell away from the popular crowd. While it was somewhat satisfying to see Tammy pretend she had never really been interested in the former King of Hawkins High, she couldn't help but remember the way Steve looked that day, face bloody, holding a cold can of pop to the worst of the bruises.
Robin can't help but wonder just what had suddenly turned Harrington's life completely on its head that day. She'd heard it was Jonathan that had beaten him up, but given how weirdly close he, Nancy, and Steve got after that cold November day, she didn't really believe it.
Wasn't he rich too? He drove a BMW to work for chrissakes. So why was he here?
And then there’s the kids.
They follow him around like ducklings, begging for rides during his spare time and free samples of ice cream on the days he’s working.
It would be endearing with anyone else, but it’s Steve Harrington.
They've been working with one another for about two weeks before it happens again.
Robin idly sprays the glass display case with the spray bottle from the back. Whatever green liquid is in the unlabeled bottle smells absolutely foul but it's the only thing in the store powerful enough to get rid of all the finger and face prints on the glass from kids standing on their tiptoes to see the flavors.
They end up having to clean the customer side of the window far more often than their employee side and normally she and Steve will flip a coin for it.
Neither of them enjoy being out from behind the counter, the shorts and the socks are reason enough for this, but it also has the negative effect of piquing enough customer interest to interrupt their down time, like the movement and streak free glass shine draws their eyes.
But, nine times out of ten Steve would ‘lose’ and pick up the spray bottle without complaint.
Robin had started to wonder if he was doing it on purpose, but why the hell would Harrington do something like that?
She wrinkles her freckled nose and starts wiping the glass, clearing away the smudges and dirt before spraying again to get at the more stubborn fingerprints.
Steve is late today, which is weird.
Another surprise from Hawkins golden-boy, Robin would have expected Steve to waltz in twenty minutes late to every shift, with a scowl on his face and a refusal to pull his weight.
But it was the opposite.
Steve would get there early, he would review the cleaning list for the day, check the inventory to see what ice creams would need to be restocked and what the special was for the day.
The only thing Steve had ever asked her to do, was to write out the specials on the board.
When Robin had scoffed and asked why he couldn't do it himself, Steve had gotten very quiet, chewed his lip for a beat and said, "I don't want to mess it up, or have you have to redo it for me".
Steve shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets, "sometimes the letters are weird when I read and then it makes it harder to write them out”.
He sighs but it comes out more like a scoff, “there’s a reason I’m still here Buckley”.
Oh…so the golden boy of Hawkins High would not be leaving for college in the fall then.
He looked at her, his big eyes traced over her face as though he were looking for any hint of a laugh.
And what else could she do in the moment but pick up the dry erase marker and shoulder him out of the way of the board with a, ‘you owe me dingus’.
She turned her face away at the small smile Steve gave her, ignoring the twinge in her chest at his tiny confession.
God Dammit, he was not endearing, he wasn’t!
Robin balls up the rag she used to wipe down the glass and looks up to the wall clock on the far side of the food court.
It’s nearly eleven in the morning and Steve is still not here, she’s tempted to use the phone in the back to call his house when she remembers she has no clue what his phone number is or if it would even be listed.
She’s sure he’s scheduled with her today; it’s Tuesday, they always work Tuesdays together.
Robin looks around the food court, scoping out the entrances and nearby tables. There’s no sign of him, no obnoxious hair, no big goofy grin, or big hazel eyes to be found.
She huffs and makes her way to the back room, pushing the swing door open hard enough that it makes a satisfying bang against the wall.
She freezes at the sudden yelp from the back corner.
Steve whirls away from her, his face tipped into his open locker, his shoulders are a tense hunched line. It's a horribly familiar pose and once again Robin can’t help but feel like she’s witnessing something she shouldn’t.
“Steve?” she says softly, taking another step into the room, “whats--”
“I know I’m late,” he mumbles, the words are tight but there’s no waiver to them, “sorry”.
Robin wishes she were better at this sort of thing --her mom always seemed to know what to do and what to say when people were upset. That skill definitely skipped a generation in her case.
He turns to face her, slowly, one hand on his nose, the other holding his wrist against his chest.
There’s an ugly, rapidly purpling bruise running down his arm where it’s cradled. The shape is strange, almost as if someone had grabbed him - it runs around the entire circumference of his forearm and--
Oh.
Steve eyes her challengingly but there’s no real heat in it, his eyes slightly shiny in the awful humming fluorescent lights.
“Actually,” Robin swallows roughly after nearly a full minute, clearing her throat as she leans back on her heels, “Uh, Marcus said we only needed one person on today, it’s slow as shit so,” she shrugs and tilts her head to the employee entrance, “you could go home if you want”.
Steve stares at her, his eyes raking over her face the same way he did after the white board incident, before he sniffs once and shakes his head, muttering under his breath that he’d rather get hit by a bus and Robin stiffens at the implication.
“You’re a terrible liar Buckley,” he says eventually, closing his locker and running a slightly shaky hand through his hair before walking towards her and the storefront, “but thanks,” Steve says softly as he passes.
“Does that mean I can go home?” Robin calls after him, immediately wincing but pleased at the startled laugh she hears from the counter.
She follows him out front, slowly, suddenly feeling with absolute certainty that she really doesn’t know Steve Harrington at all.
***
Robin never thought she would be here.
Not once did she think she would have ever come out to someone while she was still in highschool, let alone the former King of Hawkins high who would in turn become her best friend, her platonic soul-mate if you would.
After the debacle that was their official last shift with Scoops Ahoy and the Russian Spy Alternate dimension bullshit where Steve risked his damn life to save her and the kids --who all knew about this monster filled Upside Down just by the by.
So many things suddenly made so much sense, Steve and his injuries over the years, his weird relationship with Nancy and Jonathan, even the sudden personality 180.
And through the truth serum, the torture, the fire, and running down another car driven by a maniac from California, Steve was there to hold her hand, and Robin is infinitely grateful for it.
They take a job together at Family Video, attached at the hip ever since the mall burned down in July; the video store is one of the few places still hiring that summer that pays a dollar above minimum wage.
It’s not exactly glamorous, it’s mostly restocking the shelves and rewinding tapes but it’s easy and the hours are good.
She and Steve are able to get their shifts together most of the time, they both know this is so Keith can avoid working with Steve directly -a bonus if there ever was one.
Things have been quiet ever since Billy’s death and the Mind Flayer’s obliteration from their world, but it’s been especially quiet since the Byer’s packed up and moved to California.
Most of that seems to be influenced by the cloud of sadness that has draped itself over the rest of the kids and Nancy -who has been coming by more and more lately, stopping in at Family Video and lingering in the evenings, chatting with Steve while Robin shelves the returns.
It wouldn’t even have made a blip on Robin’s radar if not for the way Steve would shut down for the rest of their close after Nancy left.
He refuses to speak more than one word answers, refuses to engage with Robin’s one sided bantering as she balances the till and shuts down the neon Open sign.
It’s nothing like after she saw the bruises at Scoops, nothing like the quiet acknowledgement that the Harrington house wasn’t all money and sunshine the way she thought it was.
And Robin doesn’t know what to do about it.
It’s been going on for weeks now, and she’ll be starting school again soon. She won't be able to take the same number of shifts as she could over the summer months, and Robin has no idea what will happen when she’s not there as a buffer anymore.
It’s the last week of August when she brings it up to him.
“Steve?” she says as she hands him another copy of The Terminator tape for him to rewind; it’s nearly nine at night and Nancy hasn’t been by at all today. Robin’s stomach has been in knots watching Steve watch the windows for her all night.
He tilts his head and quirks an eyebrow at her as Robin breathes in deeply through her nose, her heart suddenly in her throat.
“Just,” she bites her lip, “what is going on with you and Nancy?”
Oh, perfect, real subtle.
All at once Steve’s face shutters.
“No, come on, don’t do that,” Robin wheedles, stepping in front of him, “Steve, just talk to me--”
“There’s nothing to talk about, just drop it Robin,” he bites out as he steps around her to grab the returns cart and wheel it over to the New Release shelf.
“No, nope,” she huffs, walking quickly to the other side of the cart and grab the handles, “this is against all the laws of best-friendom”.
“That's not a word,” he mumbles tiredly, reaching up to pinch his nose and close his eyes.
Ah shit.
“Dingus, Steve,” Robin says softly as she lets go of the handles and steps closer into his space, “talk to me?”
Steve hesitates, seeming to chew the words or the inside of his cheek - she can’t quite tell at this point, before he blinks once, twice, his eyes rapidly becoming shinier by the second.
Oh double shit.
He shakes his head and turns away from her sharply and Robin doesn’t know what to do with her hands as Steve takes a deep wobbly breath.
“It’s okay you know,” she finds herself saying softly as she takes a step closer, “to cry?”
Steve barks out a wet laugh and shakes his head again, still not looking at her.
“I don’t know what to do, like literally,” Robin whispers in a panicked voice, “can I, I mean, do you want a hug?”
He nods but doesn’t move as Robin steps even closer to wrap her arms loosely around his waist, he’s stiff in her embrace but slowly begins to relax the longer they stand there - as though he’s not used to something like this.
“You don’t have to tell me anything, but I am here if you want to talk, or if you even just want to vent - man I want to vent,” Robin says, pulling back slightly to look Steve in the eyes, “don’t take this the wrong way, but what the hell is Nancy doing?”
Steve stills in her arms but she keeps going, “honestly, aren’t she and Jonathan still dating?”
“Like I get that he’s all the way in California but why is she coming in here, and don’t tell me it's about the movies --she never asks me to help find anything, just you, and half the time she doesn't even end up renting anything?”
Robin stops as Steve’s breath hitches once, “it's not fair to you,” she finishes lamely, her voice petering out as Steve nods and sighs, finally bringing his own arms around Robin’s shoulders to draw her closer and bury his face in her hair.
“Thank you,” he whispers in her ear as he squeezes her tight enough to leave her nearly breathless.
“You’re the only person I can actually talk to that won’t think less of me about, about everything,” he whispers into her hair, Robin’s hands twitch as she fists his work vest between her fingers.
“I think, you are the single best thing to have happened to me in the last like, two years Robs,” the words are constricted, as though he has to drag them out, “and…I need to tell you something”.
Robin nods as he pulls away this time to look at her, his red rimmed eyes trace over her face, just like they had at Scoops all those months ago.
“I,” he swallows and drops his gaze to the floor, “I don’t…feel that way about Nancy anymore,” Steve says quietly.
“But you seem so upset whenever she leaves, you were looking for her today?” Robin says, confusion painting her words.
Steve sighs and tips his head back this time, looking at the ceiling as though the answer is hidden among the ceiling tiles and water stains.
“It's complicated, I…” his mouth opens and closes for a beat, “I am sad for her that Jonathan is gone - he was a better fit for Nancy, way better than me,” he mutters and looks at Robin once more.
“And I know what she's doing, coming in here all the time, she’s lonely, but that's not why I’m upset Birdy”.
Robin frowns, “then what--”
“There’s this guy,” Steve blurts out, speaking over her in a rush.
Robin feels herself stop breathing, what?
His chest begins to rise and fall rapidly as he continues, “I-I’ve never told anyone this before”.
“Okay, okay,” Robin whispers, rubbing soothing circles into his back as he moves even closer and drops his head to her shoulder.
“I don’t know what to do,” he murmurs into her vest and hair, his breath warm and wet as his chest stutters and heaves.
“It’s okay,” she says again, repeating the words she’s told herself the last three years, “you’re okay”.
“Loving Nancy is easy, but I…” he sniffs and breathes out, Robin feels a gathering wetness on her shoulder but it only makes her hug him harder.
“But you don’t,” she says softly, finishing his sentence for him.
Steve nods and lets out another shaky breath, finally lifting his face from her shoulder.
He’s a mess, face red and blotchy, tear tracks and snot shine in the streetlights from outside the video store window. Steve’s eyes are red and puffy and his mouth has stretched into an uncharacteristic frown that makes Robin’s chest ache.
Now Robin’s mother may have been an expert on making people feel better no matter the occasion, but Robin was an expert on putting her foot in her mouth and making Steve laugh.
And the latter felt much more appropriate at this moment.
“I mean, you’ve come to the right person at any rate,” she says sagely, reaching up to wipe a loose tear from his nose, he snorts and bats her hand away.
“I’m serious, if anyone is an expert in gay pining, it’s me, I’ve seen it all, if you want pointers in watching from afar and daydreaming about your illegal wedding, I’m your lady”.
Steve laughs and steps back to wipe his face roughly with both hands, it does nothing to sooth the puffy skin beneath his eyes but at least the last trace of tears are gone.
“I’m also an expert,” she chews her lip for a moment, considering carefully how to put it into words, “on how all of this feels, and how new and scary it can be,” she says softly, “trust me, I’ve been there”.
Steve nods, his eyes shining all over again as he tugs Robin closer into another bone crushing hug.
Just in time for the bell above the door to chime.
Well shit.
They step away from one another, glad for the distance from the front door to the counter, knowing exactly how that might have looked to the average customer so late into the evening.
“Hey man,” Robin calls out as Steve turns away from the door to hide his face, “just letting you know we close in five so…”
The man nods, he looks familiar, Robin’s fairly certain she’s seen him at school but she can’t remember the name.
His wild curly hair and jean vest decked out in patches and pins scream, ‘Metal-Head’, as does the ever present cloud of tobacco and weed smell that follows him and around the shelves. He makes a beeline for the small horror section at the back and grabs a tape before making his way to the counter.
“No worries Buckley, knew exactly what I wanted, I won’t hold you and Harrington up --hey man,” he says brightly, two dimples bloom as he smiles in Steve's direction who flinches at being addressed.
Steve slowly turns and tries for a smile, “hey Eddie,” he mumbles.
Eddie’s smile drops as his eyes trace over Steve’s face, “woah, what happened sweet-uh,” he looks at Robin once before moving back to Steve, “dude, uh, sweet dude?”
Oh no fucking way.
Steve clears his throat, his cheeks slowly getting pinker the longer Eddie and Robin stare at him, “nothing, I promise, um are you still okay to take Dustin to Indy tomorrow to the hobby shop?”
Eddie nods and smiles, though there’s still a hint of worry in his eyes as he slides the tape over the counter, “wouldn’t miss it, gotta get that kid ready for Hellfire initiation after all,” he says with a wink.
“I figured if you didn’t have anything after we could watch this at mine,” Eddie continues nervously this time, gesturing to the tape Steve scans through.
For the third time since she’s known Steve, Robin feels as though she’s witnessing something she shouldn’t, only this time it doesn’t fill her with anxiety or uncertainty, and she’s never felt more invisible.
“I’d like that,” Steve says softly as Eddie beams at him, wrapping his knuckles against the counter as he hands Steve three one dollar bills.
“Sounds like a plan my liege,” Eddie hums as he bows with a flourish, coaxing a laugh out of Steve who is smiling like a loon beside Robin, “you bring the popcorn, I’ll take care of everything else,” he calls over his shoulder as he walks backwards towards the entrance before tipping an imaginary hat in farewell as he disappears out the door.
“That is not pining!” Robin shrieks as she whirls around on Steve the moment they see Eddie get into his van, “that was full blown flirting, how long has this been going on??”
“I’m sorry--”
“Nuh uh, you’ve been getting kissy with him, and you didn’t tell me? You got to have your first kiss before me??”
“We haven’t kissed Robin, christ we haven’t done anything--”
“Life is so fucking unfair, you had to be a ‘ladies’ and a ‘man’s’ man, huh?” She scoffs as she walks to the front of the store and switches off the sign and bolts the door for good measure.
Robin turns around only to find Steve staring at her, a nervous expression warps his normally handsome face.
Dammit.
She rolls her eyes and sighs, “I am still so proud of you for telling me, but you have to admit this is unjust,” she mutters in what she hopes is a reassuring voice.
“You think he likes me then?” Steve wonders aloud as he looks from Robin to the door that Eddie left through with a small smile.
Robin drops her face into her hands, this is the man she’s chosen for her platonic soul-mate?
“You are literally going on a date tomorrow,” she grumbles irritatedly, “I watched him ask you out, not even ten seconds ago Steve”.
The smile he sends her way is blinding, and once again Robin is reminded just how much she loves this doofus, how she never would have imagined herself here as a freshman with a trumpet.
“You are calling me after,” she demands as Steve pops the till to begin cashing out while Robin hops up to sit on the counter and fill out the paperwork, “if I can’t teach you about pining then you damn well owe me a class about dating”.
Steve laughs brightly as he lays down the bills and change, giving Robin a soft grin which she returns, finally feeling as though she knows Steve Harrington much better than most.

pairing: homelander x reader
word count: 859
notes: on the seventh day of ficmas, lilacliquors gave to me ... a second chance meeting with homelander!
Tumblr media
meeting homelander once was purely on accident. you had no idea how it happened, but you were just in the same place at the same time. it was a fancy vought event, and you had been brought along as your friend’s plus one since your now ex boyfriend canceled a trip with you last minute. so, eager to impress, you dressed to the nines and happily joined your friend. and that was when you bumped into him.
you spent hours talking, and it was like he was hanging onto your every word. but the night wasn’t getting any younger, and it was soon time for you to leave. you won’t lie, you wanted so badly for him to invite you back to his place, but instead, he insisted that you take him number. you didn’t even know supes had phone numbers. sure, they were active on social media, but your friend worked in the vought social media department, so it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out no supe ran their one socials. but this felt different, like a secret you needed to keep close to your chest. and you kept it safe and sound.
however, you hardly had the time to even try and ring the number. that meeting was last winter, and it was a full year later. he had tried to catch up with you several times, inviting you to vought functions as an anonymous admirer, but something always seemed to come up. you had a deadline to meet one night, a funeral the next time, and for vought’s halloween party, your car had the audacity to die on you. and your costume looked so good, too! but now, it was christmas time, and the city was bright and full of cheer. and truthfully, you loved this time of year. it filled you with a warmth that you couldn’t quite describe, but this year, you felt like a quiet christmas by yourself was deserved.
instead of racing around like a mad person to prepare a meal for everyone, you gave your friends and family that you wouldn’t be traveling much this holiday season. of course, you went to a nearby christmas party your friends were hosting, but on christmas day, you planned to stay firmly put in your apartment, cozy in your pajamas with a warm mug of cocoa and cheesy holiday movies on the tv. and that was how you spent your whole day. the snow outside was calming, the lights twinkled across the city, and yet, something still felt off.
and that was when you realized that you had forgotten part of the ingredients you needed to finish making your christmas dinner. your eyes widened, and you smacked your forehead with a groan. so much for lounging in pajamas all day. it was time to get dressed and hurry out to the one store you knew would be open on the holiday. and when you entered, it was nearly empty, save for a few other last minute shoppers. you waved hello to the clerk at the counter, and you set off hunting for the things you needed. you grabbed a basket from the front and began to fill it, but when you reached for a can of cranberry sauce, another hand bumped yours, and you were quick to pull back.
“sorry about tha—” you said, but when you looked up, you almost gasped.
homelander was in the store? just … out shopping? like a normal person?
“oh no, don’t be. here, take it, i insist,” he said, pulling the can from the shelf and setting it into your basket with a smile. you were clearly stunned, and he chuckled quietly.
“what, can’t a guy who saves the world on a regular basis just come out and try to be normal every so often?” he asked, and you laughed quietly.
“sorry, sorry. i just … it’s so strange to see you here. i’m really sorry we haven’t been able to catch up … all year,” you said, feeling your cheeks warm up.
“oh, it’s all right. shit happens, things go ass up, life is unpredictable. but … it’s good to see you,” he said, then looked around. “you here by yourself?”
“oh, yeah. christmas by myself this year. too much craziness, i needed a breather,” you replied, and he nodded, clasping his hands behind his back.
“i envy you, truly. can’t remember the last time i had a break,” he murmured, and it dawn on you that … he was looking for an invitation.
“oh, well, um … you’re more than welcome to … come take a break with me,” you said, and you swore his whole face lit up.
“really? it wouldn’t be too much trouble?”
“not at all. it’ll just be us two. come on … maybe christmas doesn’t have to be so quiet this year after all.”
you paid for your groceries and held out a hand to him, which he took with a soft smile. and together, you left the store, with a few heads turning in your directions. maybe christmas magic and miracles were a real thing after all.

You Turned Me Inside Out
4k ish fluff and angst
Leave a comment if you wanna!
You’ve sent the divorce papers with a news coo until they became tired of you. Still, you persisted. You figured Buggy wasn’t dead yet, you would’ve been told right?
Your think back on that quick courthouse wedding, you were seven months pregnant, Buggy even bribed a clerk to keep quiet. Wouldn’t do a husband any good to be arrested on his wedding day.
You thought it was romantic at the time, even if your first marriage was officiated by your first mate. Less complicated that way. Maybe that was a bad omen, he was good for awhile. He left you both, even a guy with a bad childhood didn’t see anything wrong with giving it to his own. Even left your daughter with his nose.
You kept your bar, plenty of sailors talked shit about marrying you. The townsfolk pitied you, you decide awhile ago to say you were widowed. Less humiliating that way. Even if he was dead, Buggy never was letting you go anyway. Your baby had your smile, so she smiled for the both of you these days.
The baker’s daughter watched her awhile you ran the bar. It was an easy enough arrangement, you always adjusted to new plans on the fly.
And that’s when you see him.
“Cabaji,” you yell across the crowded bar, “unless you’re waving a white flag, get the fuck out!”
Your loyal patrons readied themselves for a fight, who needed a ship when you had drunks?
”Look! Sorry! The captain wanted me to check the place out!”
You hop over the bar, marching straight to him, “where is he?”
He obviously didn’t enjoy this task, you always liked Cabaji.
”On the ship.”
”Folks, I’ll be right back. I got kids upstairs, don’t start a riot. Alright?”
A rousing ‘aye, aye!’ surrounds you both, you may have never had a high bounty like your husband, but you had that.
Cabaji leads you to the Big Top, your nerves gnawing at you. You’re worried you’ll kill him, his crew then turning to kill you. Leaving your daughter all alone.
You shook those thoughts out, settling in the pit of your stomach.
Buggy was waiting for news in his cabin, and Cabaji reluctantly leaves you to knock on his door alone.
He swung the door open, like he was waiting for that knock. Only to be faced with you.
”You…it’s really you.”
“You have a fucking wife, remember?”
His shoulders drop, “I…I know.”
You slap him, and he takes it with grace. You decide one isn’t good enough, slapping him a few more times.
”Glad that wasn’t a punch,” he tries to joke.
”I’m a better person now, for my daughter.”
”How is she?”
”You don’t get to ask that.”
He gives a nod, “how are you?”
”Sign those papers, I’ll be much better.”
”I can’t do that.”
You search his face, Buggy looking like a kicked puppy pissed you off more than anything else.
”You left us, just let me go.”
”I have plenty of excuses, none you wanna hear.”
You stare into his eyes, hoping he would combust. You damn your heart, because you want to hear it all. You spit on the floor turning to leave, Buggy following you back to your bar. You’ll feel better once it was on your turf.
The patrons watch him over their mugs, you motion Buggy to sit on an empty stool. You ignore him for most of the night, thinking if you should go get your baby. Buggy looked pathetic, staring at his beer. You had a soft spot, begging to be acknowledged.
With a sigh, you go upstairs to let your sitter go home. Your baby looks too much like him, especially when she cries. You love your kid, you do, you just wish she wasn’t his.
”Here,” you say, “you run off with her I will kill you.”
She’s a lot bigger than he remembers, it had been 4 months since he held her last. Buggy knits his brows and frowns, holding her tight. The man sitting next to him coos at your child, making him beam with pride.
You should’ve known that’s all it would take, Buggy loved the spotlight. At least the little red nose was cuter on her, he kissed it enough to make her giggle. Being a dad was easy, he just got to sit there and make her happy.
You hate him for this. You consider killing him now anyway.
“Out with it then, another fucking bird try to eat you?”
”Do we gotta talk here?”
You look around, a few people are pretending to not eavesdrop. It gives you some courage, that you’re totally in the right here.
”Yup.”
He sighs, “damn it. Fuck, okay fine. I was nervous. I was tired. I needed a fucking break.”
”Oh, this is incredible. Please keep going.”
He groans, “I was gonna only be gone a few days. Retire on a high note.”
”Captain Buggy retiring? I liked the bird story better.”
He looks down at your daughter, his finger being gummed to death. He lets her have the whole hand, rubbing his face with a forearm.
”Okay, so not a permanent one. But long enough! You’ve done it, you know the deal.”
“I didn’t have a kid yet.”
He whispers your name, “I love you. I love her. I’m here now, that’s gotta count for something.”
”Do you even remember her god damn name?”
He looks down at her, “Marcela. She has my heart on a string, you both do.”
You should’ve known better, pirates didn’t get tied down. You both knew a baby’s place wasn’t a ship, and his wasn’t a nursery.
”Well, you saw her, guess you’ll see her again when she’s 18.”
“Oh come on, barkeep, I haven’t seen my own kids in years. Man’s gotta work.”
”Shut the fuck up, Benny. Your wife hates it and so do I. All wives do!”
You point at Buggy, “not all husbands have detachable dicks. Should’ve cut that off while I had the chance.”
”You’re a real bitch, you know that?”
You smile, “you married this bitch. Guess you’re gonna have to sign those papers.”
He grumbled, reattaching his hand so he could hold the baby better before slamming his beer. Buggy continued to glare at you the whole night, to his credit, he would stumble upstairs occasionally to change her and hand her off to you to get fed.
At closing time, you found them both asleep in the corner. You could cry, seeing her peacefully in his arms. He should’ve stayed, he was cruel and nothing would let you forget.
You whisper in his ear, “Buggy. Let me take her up.”
He yawns, gently passing Marcela to you. She only stirs a little bit, and you hope she’s at the point where she’s finally sleeping through the night.
Buggy notices how tired you are, “permission to come aboard?”
You shake your head, “no.”
”I’m your husband.”
”You didn’t care about that detail until now.”
He balls his fist, “I never forgot.”
You shush him, shooing him away as you take her upstairs. He follows you anyway, and you remember the rifle above your bed. You’ll use it if you have to.
You put Marcela to bed, Buggy right beside you, regarding her like she was made of glass. He let out a breath you didn’t know he was holding. A shy smile you could see in the dim light.
”I’ll walk you out,” you urge.
He doesn’t put up a fight, only lingering at the front door.
“Goodnight, Buggy.”
”Wait, can I come back?”
”Why would I want that?”
“Oh, come on! I’m not the first fucking pirate having to go do their thing! Not like she’s too old to even remember me!”
”Fuck off Buggy. You made a fool of me more than once.”
He frowns, “baby I’m sorry.”
You shove him outside, slamming the door and locking it tight. He bangs on the door a few times, shouting and cursing.
“Don’t wake up the baby!”
He stops, storming off in a huff. You figure this was going to be a yearly occurrence, more if you were lucky. You wonder briefly if you should take up one of those regulars on their offer of marriage, if only to make Buggy pissed off.
Buggy was persistent, showing up early the next day. You had stepped outside with your baby to walk around only to be surprised by him, a punch to his gut for his trouble.
”God! Morning to you too.”
”Buggy, I’m surprised you’re still in town.”
You can’t stand the sight of him, but he does look good without his make up. The morning sun bathes him in a heavenly light, picking up stray strands of hair like a halo. He looks at you like he was thinking the same thing. He smiled the way he always did with you, his gaze soft as he stepped in your personal space.
Buggy knew how to turn on the charm like a switch. You didn’t want this Buggy, you married the real one.
”How’d you sleep?”
”Fine, been doing fine for months I’ll have you know.”
He grazes your shoulder with his as you kept walking, “where you headed?”
”The beach. She likes waves.”
A futile attempt to shake him off, he spent time on the ocean even with his weakness. Buggy didn’t show any hesitation in following you, eyes glued to the carriage in front of you. You figure it’s an ego thing, she looks like his little clone.
He helps set down a blanket with all her toys, laying on his belly with her as he she coos. You couldn’t fold this easy, turning away to count the ships docked in the distance. It was easier when it was just you and him, sleeping together before he took off for who knows how long. You really should’ve married someone else, he knew how to sell himself too well.
“Does she get, uh well, do people,” he motions to his nose.
”Oh no, I think it’s cute on her. Don’t think anyone really wants to insult a baby in front of me.”
He smiles, “glad to hear it. You let me know if I need to knock some heads. Both of you.”
He lays on his back, dangling Marcela above him.
”Stop that.”
”Oh, she’s fine. She’s laughing, I got her.”
”No,” you're on the brink of tears, “stop acting like you give a shit. Just get outta here. I’ll marry the baker, he’s bonafide.”
”Bonafide? Ain’t I bonafide?”
You shake your head and he huffs.
”I give a shit. I actually take my vows seriously.”
”You left, couldn’t be fucked to be a real husband and father.”
Buggy sets the baby back down, turning to look at you. You swat his hands away, regretting that you been humoring him this long.
”If I knew letting you keep my balls would settle things, I would’ve,” he grumbles.
”Yeah, it would actually! I need a new stress ball!”
Buggy grits his teeth, “you’re the only one in the East Blue who’d even think about saying those things to Buggy The Clown.”
It was getting childish, kicking sand at him, “I’m not your god damn fan. I say whatever the fuck I want.”
”At least I’m not a fucking baker.”
”Yeah, if your baking is like your cooking, you’d be lousy at it!”
He laughs, a long hearty one. He picks up your baby, walking her to the edge of the shore, letting her toes dip into the warm waters. You’re hiding a smile, fatherhood looks good on him. And he knows it, laughing in your face like that. You suppose you couldn’t blame the guy, Roger was the last person you’d expect to teach a kid manners.
”Hey,” he calls out, “you pack a lunch?”
You nod, and he gives a thumbs down, “I’m taking my girls out. Get some good grub.”
You really should decline, “there’s a cafe on the pier. Great pancakes.”
”Let’s go then!”
So you spend the day with him, Buggy was mostly hush about what he was out doing. Out of shame or boredom, you couldn’t tell. Buggy even helps you stock the bar, shooing away your extra help when she arrived. You let it happen, and you’re not sure why.
Maybe if he wants to spend the night, you’ll lock his hands and feet away so he can’t escape this time. You look at his hands, thinking about the last time you let him hold you.
God, are you that weak? Are you really falling for your husband again?
Funny joke, he should hire you as a writer.
”What’s up, baby?”
”I think you should stay the night.”
His face lights up, “great. That’s so great.”
He detaches from his legs, letting his torso twirl around with you and Marcela in his arms. You let out a gasp as he did it, holding onto him tighter.
The first time he did this to you, you felt like a fairy.
“You’re so cute when you blush.”
”I’m not blushing.”
He tilts your chin up, “you are.”
You shake your head, finishing up your tasks. It had been hell since you saw Buggy last, your heart yearned for him every day. Pirates aren’t used to being so open with their feelings, you wonder if he meant it when he wanted to keep your hair in a locket. You sent it with a letter, he only thanked you.
”Buggy, did you even miss me?”
He was changing a diaper, nearly dropping the pin, “of course I did.”
”Are you lying?”
His hand flies to you for a moment, stroking your hair. You shove it away, and he recalled it back to pop into place.
”I could never lie to you.”
”You just leave out the truth.”
He looks as heartbroken as you, “I’m not a good man, I’m sorry I gave you that impression. But I love you, I love our family.”
You only nod, ignoring him the rest of the night. The patrons don’t flirt with you, now that your daughter was being held by her father in the corner of the bar. Someone puts on the record player, a romantic song wafting in the air. Didn’t fit for a sailor bar, catchy enough that they sing anyway.
”May I have this dance?”
”They'll have my head if drinks ain’t poured fast enough.”
”Let ‘em,” he whispers in your ear.
Two hands are still holding Marcela in her seat, his forearms wrap around you as he swings you around. You always loved a man who can dance, and as expected Buggy was a showy dancer. Even without fingers he dipped and twirled you, lifting you up and over.
You collapse into his chest once the song was over, you’re guided back to the bar so you could pour drinks. A smile doesn’t leave either of your faces.
”Sir, your girl is the best thing that could ever happen to us salty dogs!”
”Don’t I fucking know it,” he beams.
There’s a twinkle in his eye as he returns with your baby, hopping on the counter he gives a sharp whistle.
”Alright listen up, today’s my little girl’s half birthday. A round on me!”
The loud commotion doesn’t bother her too much, Buggy still making sure to cover her ears as he grins at you. In this moment, you’re completely charmed. You’re too afraid to kiss him, you know you shouldn’t kiss him. But he grins and your daughter laughs and maybe, just maybe it’s okay.
He offers to close the bar, and you insist to count the money. He didn’t leave you high and dry last time, but you weren’t that stupid.
Soon he trudges upstairs, kicking his boots off. He sits on the bed only a moment, before shaking his head.
”Do you want me here? Or should I sleep on the couch?”
”Couch.”
”Okay. Hey uh, can I kiss you?”
”What?”
”Just the cheek? The nose? A hand?”
You must be tired, “kiss me like a man, Buggy.”
He kisses you slowly, treading carefully until you push him away. He clears his throat, and sleeps on the couch as promised.
You wake up before him, realizing he let you sleep the whole night. You always liked watching him, it was rare that you were up before him. Buggy was like some strange version of an angel, those long lashes fluttering, chiseled jaw and lovely lips.
You crawl closer to him, his breath hot on your face. You kiss his nose, if you could even call that. It’s so light, there was no way he could feel it.
His eyes flutter open anyway, “well, hello.”
”Thanks for letting me sleep.”
”Go back to bed, she’s still sleeping too.”
Your heart goes soft, come with me, you want to say. Instead, you let sleep overtake you again.
You aren’t sure of the time it is now, and you notice Buggy was gone. You strain to listen to your baby, you didn’t hear anything either. In a panic, you shoot up.
”Buggy?”
”In here!”
Oh thank fuck.
He’s on the floor, playing with your daughter. You ease your heartbeat, standing there a little awkwardly.
“C’mere.”
He drapes an arm over you, “can that kid watch Marcie today? I wanna take you out, just us.”
”I’m not a cheap date.”
”Oh, I know.”
You haven’t dressed up in ages, nervously fussing with your hair until he knocks on the bathroom door.
“Be out in a minute.”
What were you even doing? How many women do you know with husbands like him? The loneliness, the worry. It was easier when you were younger, Buggy was made for the sea. He couldn’t stand being on land for long.
So why did you marry him? Because he was funny? Because he was cute? He loved you the only way he knew how; a captive audience, an adoring fan.
But that’s not really true, is it? It never was for you, he loves you honestly. A rare thing from a pirate.
Buggy whistles at the sight of you, “gorgeous.”
“Thanks, Bug.”
”Only stating the obvious, I could go on but, we got plans tonight don’t we?”
He doesn’t fit in amongst the diners surrounding you. If not his best outfit being a striped shirt and dirty pants, it’s his leg on the chair arm with a drink in his hand. People gawk at his nose when he’s not looking, thankfully focused on you.
If you were honest, you didn’t belong in this place either.
“Why are we here Buggy?”
”You deserve it, had a pretty good haul awhile ago.”
”That why you left?”
He grimaces, “yeah. Found a map.”
You look at your plate, chewing slowly. Buggy drinks more than he eats.
”We were arguing more, you seemed so unhappy. I uh, figured it was better to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
Your vision blurs, “you should’ve told me.”
”I know honey, I know. I never…I never sat still long. As much as I’d like to.”
He insisted it could work at the time, claiming that pirating would be a side gig. Pirates weren’t built for that, as much as Buggy loved his circus you know he loved treasure more.
”So now what? When’s the next time you’re just gonna run?”
Buggy wouldn’t face you, “I-I don’t know. I do know…I won’t leave you stranded. Not again. Ever.”
You lose your appetite, running out on him. You aren’t sure where you were going, running towards the ships docked in the pier. He’s right behind you, shouting your name. You ignore it, reaching his ship.
You wish you kept a bottle, you’d burn the damn thing down. You laugh bitterly, the sea really is his mistress.
“Baby, hey. Let’s talk.”
”If I didn’t send that letter, would you even come back? When I was pregnant?”
Buggy holds your face in his hands, forcing you to look at him. His jaw is tense, his fingers tremble. You never seen him so undone.
”I never left. Not really. I married you because I love you.”
”Don’t bullshit.”
”I’m not.”
You slap him, “don’t lie to me.”
”I’m not.”
You shove him, “don’t lie to me!”
“Baby stop! I’m sorry okay! God damn.”
You attempt to knock his head off his shoulders. He grabs your hand before you do, “come on. Let me show you something.”
He leads you to his cabin, among the mess and clutter he digs for something. He hands you a box, all your letters, photos, even an old wanted poster. He even kept a onesie and one of the footprints you thought was thrown away.
“I did it for us, I always do it for us.”
You’re on the verge of tears, “You’re going to Grand Line soon, aren’t you?”
He nods, “I had to square away my affairs, I had to see you again.”
You swallow hard, “how long?”
You never sailed that far, your own crew wasn’t ready for that. If he lived, you knew how long he could be gone.
”I don’t know. I do know one thing, I’ll be back.”
You let him hold you as you cry, you could feel droplets on the top of your head. You both stand there crying for who knows how long. Eventually Buggy kisses your eyes, and you tug on his shirt to pull his lips to yours.
It’s a good sign, you feel fireworks even now. He lifts up your skirt, fingers grazing the waistband of your underwear.
”I love you,” he whispers, “my North Star.”
Buggy stays with you for several weeks, and a small part of you wants to pretend he’s going to stay. When your first love died, you promised to remain by the sea. They’d protect you, even in spirit. You hope that promise extended to Buggy, they would’ve like each other.
You help him ready the ship, Buggy stalling in every way he knew how. Not enough costumes, a spotlight was out, you both knew how this was going to end.
He doesn’t let go of your daughter, showing her every single part of his ship. The crew adores her, promising to make her a cabin girl once she’s old enough. It kind of sounds nice, Buggy plans to bring you along too when the time comes. That sounds pretty good to you too.
Eventually, the Big Top sets sail. You teach Marcela to wave to her daddy, you blow kisses as you shout farewells. You promise to tell her about him, and he promises his damnedest to write every day.
It wasn’t going to be easy, it was going to be lonelier this time around. But you are a beacon, an angel of the sea to guide him home.

╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ "IS IT JUST me or has Izana been acting odd lately?"
Kakucho spoke up, breaking the silence between him and the Brutal Generation, as well as the executives of Tenjiku. He was unable to contain his curiosity much longer. He pondered in his mind all the time; whether the others noticed this subtle change in Izana.
"Izana has always been unhinged, Kakucho. Since when he's not acting odd?" Ran casually remarked, finding his question strange. "You know him personally much more than we do. Surely, we can't give you any answers even if you demand one from us." Rindou added.
"What's so odd about Izana anyway?" Shion asked, his brain still trying its hardest to discern the meaning behind Kakucho's inquiry. "If you are talking about how he has been hanging out a lot on his own, I personally don't think it's strange." Kanji stated whilst he munched on a mochi.
"You know him. He doesn't like it when we question his actions." Muto advised, patting the younger male's broad back to reassure him. "I know, but...ahh, there is just something off about him. I can't get it out of my mind unless I figure it out." Kakucho argued, persistently staying true to himself.
"My gut feeling is too strong for me to ignore it... Alright, that's it. I'm going out to check on Izana. He went out to the city again today. You guys wanna tag along?" Kakucho offered invitation to the rest of the executives. Shion, Kanji and Muto were unsure. They didn't want to dig their own grave.
But the two Haitanis thought otherwise. They were thrilled by the idea of spying on Izana during his casual stroll in the city. They might discover something unbelievable.
"We are coming along~" Ran agreed to Kakucho's invitation, his hand resting on top of Rindou's head. Rindou wore a wide grin on his face, excited by the adventure they were about to experience. It could be a death wish but who cares! Life wasn't fun without taking risk.
Seeing two of them agreeing to this maniacal, suicide-borderline plan, Kanji, Shion and Muto sighed defeatedly and eventually agreed to Kakucho as well. Delighted by their cooperation, he smiled at the older males happily.
"Alright, let's go now!"
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, in the city, Izana was strolling in a clothing store with you, browsing the various clothes and shoes sold in the store in complete silence. There was no way he would want to buy them as most the stuffs he wanted was overpriced.
His amethyst-hued eyes suddenly landed on a pair of shoes. He stared long at the said shoes, as if he was attracted to them. He was unaware of how long he was fixing his gaze at the footwear. Noticing his behavior, you smiled at him and picked up the shoes he secretly wished to have.
Shocked by your action, Izana looked at you in disbelief. "No, not again." He opposed your idea. He knew you too well; you were planning to buy the shoes for him. But you shook your head and brought the shoes along as you and your boyfriend made your way to the store clerk.
"Yes, again. I told you, just buy anything you want. I can pay for the goods."
"You're always spoiling me."
"And I love doing that. Especially spoiling you."
Izan smiled softly at you, his one and only girlfriend. To be honest, he didn't know you were from a wealthy family until he went on a first date with you. It was astonishing to figure out this interesting fact about you.
Izana reached out his hand and held your hand warmly. "That's why I love you so much, mahal." He whispered seductively into your ear, tightening his hold on your hand. Your cheeks heated up upon hearing his attractive voice. God, you always had a thing for voice. Hearing a sexy voice like his made you weak in the knees. "I love you too, sweetie."
You paid for the shoes much to Izana's happiness. He never, never even once asked you to spoil him with your wealth. You willingly did it for him and he appreciated it so much. Even though he couldn't buy any expensive gifts like you did, you adored every single thing he did or give to you as presents.
You weren't a picky and judgmental girl.
"So, where should we go now?"
"Mahal, I'm hungry. Can we stop by KFC?"
"Sure! And you better keep your wallet in your pocket. Today's date is on me."
"But..."
"No buts. I invited you to the date so I have the rights to spoil you."
Izana chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. You were persistently stubborn when it came to this topic. It was no surprise to know you hated being the spoiled one during date. Only on rare occasion, you would let him pay during the date.
"If you say so, mahal." Izana leaned in to kiss your forehead. Your face went ablaze, delighted by his soft kiss. That was right, this was what you wanted. Receiving rewards in the form of physical touched everytime you spoiled him. Izana was the best when it came to showing love through physical touch.
Hooking your arm with his, you and Izana walked out of the clothing store as he flirted with you, effortlessly causing warmth to spread across your cheeks.
"After this...wanna come over to my place to chill, mahal?" Izana whispered flirtatiously into your ear. You could practically hear the smirk in his teasing voice as his arm found its way to snake around your waist. "I love to reward you for all the treats and spoiling...you deserve so much from me."
"Eager much, aren't you? I'm always up for it. I love to be spoiled by you later."
"Thought you hated being coddled by me, mahal."
"Your "spoiling" is different and that's why I love it."
The warmth in your cheeks kept rising up. You could never stop flirting with Izana when he started making his move. He would continue whispering sweet nothings until you overheated.
Unbeknownst to the couple, a group of curious delinquents were spying on them with the youngest having his jaw dropped to the ground in disbelief.
"I-Izana...since when did he— has a partner?" Kakucho gasped, his mouth agape wide open. Shion, Muto, Kanji, Ran and Rindou were left speechless as well. Izana, never once, showed the slightest bit interest in relationship considering that man hated "troublesome burden". Hence, seeing him all sweet with a girl was a miracle. This fact might take a while to be embedded into their brain.
"Let's go follow them. I need to confirm again—"
Much to Kakucho's misfortune, Rindou unintentionally slipped and brutally pushed Kakucho out of their hiding spot. Due to panic, all of them left the alleyway to help Kakucho and Rindou to get back on their feet.
Of course, this led to their downfall.
Thanked to the chaos, Izana and you were drawn to take a look. The Tenjiku leader was displeased to find his executives all hoarded together. He figured out right away that they were spying on him.
"You know them?" You asked, curious of his sudden change of facial expression. You were still linking your arm with his. Izana's face scrunched with irritation, aggravated by their rude interruption. You knew Izana was involved in gang activities but you had never found out that he was the leader of his own gang.
"What the fuck are you guys doing here?!" Izana yelled at his exeuctives. His roaring voice sent shivers down to their spine. He untangled his arm from your hold, dangerously walking toward the other elite delinquents of his gang. Shion was on the verge of tears, fearing for his life and safety.
"S-Shit, run! RUN! FUCKING RUN!!" Shion, being the most coward among all of them, made a run from Izana's wrath. Izana ignored the others as they were already frozen on their spots so he began chasing after Shion, catching up with his speed easily.
"Wait, you fucker! I'm gonna fucking kill you for interrupting my date!!"
The small chaos somehow turned into a big calamity as Shion, Kakucho, Ran, Rindou, Muto and Kanji now needed to face Izana's rage.
While you just stood there all confused but enjoyed the evening drama nonetheless.

jj had been noticing a sudden shift to your normally bubbly personality, and jj being jj, he decided to investigate. he hated to see you upset and tired all the time, to find out what was wrong he basically started following you everywhere. (well, more than he had already)
you didn't think too much of it, you loved jj with all your heart, and the more time you spent together the closer you got.
it was only when you were hanging out with the pogues one day that someone mentioned it.
"there's jj, following y/n around again," kie laughed.
"little lost puppy," john b quipped chugging a beer.
jj rolled his eyes at their remarks and sat down with you and the pogues around the fire pit.
"wanna s'more y/n?" pope offered kindly, but you declined, saying you had a big dinner and were totally stuffed.
jj furrowed his eyebrows, he had barely seen you eat anything all day. then it hit him like a truck, and it made him sick to his stomach, he could read you like a book. he knew what was going on and didn't know how he hadn't thought of it earlier.
~<>~<>~<>~<>~
the following day you sat in the hammock reading the new book that jj had gotten you for your birthday last month.
"hiya cupcake!" he said sprinting over and sliding into the hammock next to you, rocking it back and forth subconsciously with his feet.
"hey jay," you snuggled into his side and turned the page of your book listening to his breathing and the calming waves splashing against the shore. he wrapped his arms around you and buried his face in your hair.
after a few minutes, jj piped up, "i'm bored," you raised an eyebrow and smirked at him, he couldn't last 10 minutes just sitting in silence.
"what do you wanna do?" you asked.
"dinner date?" he pondered and you felt your blood run cold.
"uh- i- i don't know," you studdered.
"c'mon! it'll be fun!" he closed your book and dragged you by the hand over to the chateau. flipping his hat and climbing onto his motorbike he motioned for you to sit behind him. you shook lightly with fear and anticipation, "cold?" he asked and you shrugged your shoulders, sure that was a good excuse.
jj ran inside and when he returned he was carrying john b's fuzzy green couch blanket. he returned to his spot on the bike and placed the blanket in your arms, "hold on," he said and you wrapped your arms around his waist burying your face in his back.
~<>~<>~<>~<>~
when you arrived in town jj imediatly parked his bike, swung the blanket over his shoulder, and dragged you to the food vendors on the beach.
"i'm cravin' a smoothie bowl," he whispered.
you laughed trying to calm yourself, "for dinner?"
"hell yeah, baby!"
you smiled at his enthusiasm, the beach was quiet and there were almost no people lined up for food due to how late it was in the day. jj ran up to the smoothie stand pulling you along with him, interlocking your fingers with his.
"two acai bowls, please!" he said to the lady working the stand.
you stood hip to hip hands still intertwined, you fidgeted with his rings and leaned your head against his shoulder.
"so when were you gonna tell me it was happening again?" he asked his tone suddenly more serious.
"i- what?" you answered looking up at him, feeling your stomach twist.
"i don't think i've seen you eat anything for the past three days..."
"jj-"
"TWO ACAI BOWLS," the clerk called out. jj released your hand and went to grab the food. when he came back he didn't say anything and just started walking toward the sand. you dragged your feet behind him.
the two of you sat on the beach, watching the waves crash on the shore, there was a beautiful sunset forming in the sky and you got butterflies as you looked at the sweet blonde boy next to you. he had wrapped the large green blanket over both your shoulders and snuggled up close to you, digging his toes into the sand.
he turned to you holding out your bowl and a spoon, "i don't know who got into that pretty head of yours that you needed to change your body, but they were wrong."
you looked at him and your heart fluttered and twinged at the same time.
"your the most beautiful girl i've ever met, you know that y/n?"
you blushed at his words and he placed the food in your hands, placing a kiss on your temple.
"we'll eat it together, ready?" he grinned at you and you gave him a small smile. you both brought your spoons to your lips and began to eat the most delicious acai bowls you had ever had.
as you reached the bottom of the bowls jj giggled, took some onto his spoon, and dolloped it onto your nose. you gasped in fake shock, "how dare you!"
he laughed harder as you catapulted a berry and hit him straight in the forehead. jj tackled you and the two of you rolled over a few times, getting tangled up in the blanket. jj ending up on top of you, hovering over your body.
he wiped the food off your face with his sleeve and gazed into your eyes, "you ever have trouble eating again you tell me, got it?"
you nodded and he kissed you deeply, on the perfect summer night basking in the sunset.
