I want to ask about Xanthan's past (because the idea of a "redeemed alternative" is very intriguing). How did they come to what they have now? They have a slightly tired expression 😑

AAAAAAA!! I'm delighted that you're enjoying my AU content! It's been such a pleasant experience so far to be able to share my headcanons and ideas this openly. I honestly didn't think that anyone would enjoy it besides myself,, But here we are! Thank you for the compliments, I hope the characters will remain interesting to you as I continue to develop them further. ^^

Honestly, I had planned to keep Xanthan's past a secret until I finished his full design reference sheet but what the hell, I'll share it now! Also, about your tired expression remark, that's just how I draw my traumatized characters lmao,, Anyways back to his past, this is a shortened version of his backstory but it's still a bit' long. It gives the answer to how he turned from an alternate to an angel. Hope you enjoy the read!

Created by Alternate Gabriel during the ongoing world war in 1942. The overlord took this as an opportunity to make steady and quiet progress on its plans to corrupt humanity. Xanthan, although nameless at the time, and a few other alternates were scattered around the United States. Specifically, in the old Bythorne county.

The task was simple: replace a human and become a doppelganger. His target was a lonely art shop owner whose business struggled. Xanthan did his task well, tormenting the poor fellow for a while until something had distracted him. Curiosity had taken over instead. First, it started with when the owner took breaks to paint art pieces in their private workshop, right above the store. He'd follow and watch them silently. There was something captivating about the way their brush moved, the vivid colors drawn on the canvas put him in awe. Later on, he took notice of the regular customers who'd come in every so often. One though, caught his attention. A lady named Joan Lavigne, a painter who lived with her older brother. However, he didn't interact with the women, just stared from a distance. Eventually, the owner was ordered to help with the war efforts. Their shop was neglected with an alternate roaming the place. Xanthan had failed his task, stalling for too long. His target never came back home.

One day, Joan came in unexpectedly while he was out in the open, looking around the shop. Expecting high-pitched screaming, she had no reaction, she greeted him as if he were the owner. Utterly confused, only then he realized that she could not see him. Or anything at all, she was blind. It had never occurred to him before until he had a closer look at her. From that point on, they slowly bonded over their fascination for art. This relationship raised many confusing emotions over the years, none that he had felt before. Sooner or later, he had to confess what he actually was, yet Joan didn't care. Both of them had developed deeper feelings and became romantically involved with each other. Unfortunately, Gabriel was informed about his affairs and soon confronted him. Insulted, they disowned him and warmed about the consequences of such treachery. After that, he was on high alert, doing what he could to protect his loved one at all costs. They were targeted by other alternates and Gabriel, oftentimes they lived in hide-out.

This relationship peaked the interest of the archangel Raphael, angel of healing. He had never seen an alternate display this kind of affection towards a human and began frequently visiting them. The thought of Xanthan possibly being redeemable was brought up. Gabriel had other plans for the traitor. They could not let one of his underlings be redeemed by his enemies, they had no choice but to take matters into their own hands. They finally decided to go for Joan and infected them with severe M.A.D then went for him next. Distraught at the death of Joan, Xanthan wasn't going to let her lifeless body become corrupt. Head-to-head with the overlord, he put up quite the fight. Proclaiming outrage right at the face of his creator.

As their confrontation reached its end, Xanthan had been forgiven by God and was granted a blessing. God accepted him as one of their own and turned him into an angel. Gabriel witnessing him be redeemed, set them into a blinding rage to say the least. Their everlasting smile dropped for the first time. But with the help of Raphael and the other remaining archangels, he managed to survive the overlord's wrath and properly hid Joan's body to rest peacefully. Since then Xanthan has swore his loyalty to heaven and God, helping their archangels and spreading the influence of redemption onto cordial alternates around the earth.

Hi Mittens! I'm at episode 1x20 of your amazing podcast. As a Cas fan I had to pause to disagree a bit with you and say that, while in the show, Dean and Sam manifested free will first, we know that, in story, Cas expressed free will long before they were born, but was lobotomized to forget it each time. Dean's influence on Cas is what lead him to completly break free, and that's super important, but that doesn't mean Cas simply learn free will from him. Re-learn free will is more like it.

And yeah... this is an involved topic, probably more involved than I'll ever really get into in the podcast, because I try to keep them moderately reasonable in length (usually... there's a few outlier episodes that are way too long lol).

But I try to lay stuff out as I personally understand it, and therefore will be talking about it throughout the series. And one of those things is Free Will.

I have no argument against the notion that Cas had flashes of free will and rebellion against his orders in the past. That's canon, thanks to 8.17. We know of at least one historical instance of him refusing an order (the slaughter of the firstborns, and honestly good for him for saying no to that one...), for which he was so thoroughly reprogrammed that he had no memory of it at all, and continued following orders as far as we know from that point up until he began to question orders again after raising Dean.

He received the reprogramming treatment again in 4.20, overcame it in 4.22, and then apparently received it again after having been rescued from Purgatory in s8, which we saw quite a bit of thanks to Naomi. Quite the horror. But I still argue that what he was experiencing was truly human free will. Or we'd have to say that lots of angels were exhibiting free will, if it's defined as just "the ability to not follow orders." Look at Uriel back in s4. Look at Raphael in s6. Or Gabriel... like... pretty much all the time. Is that free will? Maybe it is.

But humans come with Free Will included in the kit, per Chuck in 11.21. Angels... don't. They obey. They do God's Will-- or what they BELIEVE to be God's will.

Or I'd argue, in the case of Uriel and Raphael, what they believed based on the fact they assumed God was "dead," or otherwise had abandoned them, and he bought the Lucifer Propaganda because it suited him.

Receiving an order that he believed to be unjust and refusing to participate because Cas couldn't reconcile it with his previous orders to protect and love humanity? I don't know that's truly and exercise of Free Will as humans understand it.

I know this is kind of a nitpicky argument, but even if Cas hit on an event or two of exercising free will before the Winchesters were born, it wasn't something he was able to retain (or even retain the memory of having done), and it wasn't a novel thing even then-- humans already existed, and he believed he was actually working to protect and defend humans that God had ordered him to protect. Just because he refused the orders of another angel, I don't know that really counts as free will in the way a human would understand it, anyway.

But I get why people latched on to the concept that Cas "invented" free will. His entire arc is his discovery of free will, and his growing understanding of what it really means. It's HUGE for him. He learned it's not just getting to do WHATEVER you want-- as Dean explained to him at the end of 6.20. There's consequences for your choices (and yeah, Dean had to have this lesson a few times, too... see 6.11 for a prime example of it). Sometimes there's Cosmic Consequences. Not just punishment or reprogramming that wipes it all away, but actually having to live with those consequences. And the lesson is make sure that you're choosing for the right reasons, and weigh your choices carefully. And in the end, for Cas, the only reason was for love. (best reason for anything, honestly)

He didn't "invent" free will, though. That was Chuck, when he invented human souls-- at least according to Metatron in 11.20. I was mostly trying to speak against the concept that Cas was the *only* character with actual free will in all of Supernatural, which is unfortunately a concept I've seen expressed more than once. The technicality of which came first, Cas demonstrating free will or humanity demonstrating free will, is kinda hand-wavey, honestly. But the concept that Sam and Dean NEVER had free will, and only Cas did, is laughable to me, you know?

Sorry if there was confusion over that, and I hope this explains it even a little bit. It's just... too big a concept to state easily, mostly because I tend to get distracted and run down tangents >.>

To answer your first question, I've never seen the Owl House but from what I've heard and seen via YouTube it looks extremely cool!! And ah Star vs. The Forces of Evil!! I'd only seen a few episodes of that show but it seemed really good! Also lowkey Star and Marco totally remind me a bit of Lum and Ataru from Urusei Yatsura, I mean a normal high school boy who ends up with a roommate with a girl that's out of this world??? Totally gives off that Urusei Yatsura vibes lol.

To answer your second question, I've never personally played the game myself but I've seen enough of it to think that it's pretty cool!

To answer your third question-

Oh. My. God.

Literally one of my favorite Tmnt shows from my childhood aside from the 2003 version of them! I lowkey loved the story and the characters and ahhhhh it gave me so many damn feelings and it lowkey was a big part of my childhood.

To answer your fifth question, I've got a lot of characters from the 2012 series that I adore and admire but I think if I had to choose it'd probably be funnily enough Raphael. (I know shocking because I'm always going on about Leo or Donnie but hear me out-!)

Okay so I really admire 2012 Raph for many reasons, from his fierce loyalty to his family and his passion for fighting he's just an all around great character. But there's so many other reasons why I admire Raphael, I admire how when he fucks up badly he's pretty quick to try and fix his mistakes and learn from them. I admire how even though he's got a temper he does his best to keep it under control because he doesn't want to snap at his brothers. I love how Raph is a softie underneath his tough guy act and how he's gentle with animals such as Spike and Chompy. I admire how when things get tough and his brothers need him he's always there for them, whether it's offering comfort or fighting for them or just being there for them. Honestly 2012 Raph is a damn good character and as the series goes on he grows so much as a person and matures quite a bit. He's by far my favorite character that I admire lowkey.

a little bit of divine worldbuilding 🕊️

hi everyone! i said i would make a post about my angel worldbuilding and the lore surrounding it, so here we are. let's get into this!

(as a forewarning: this got really long really fast. sorry lol)

i. at the beginning of the universe: what's the deal with god, heaven, and hell?

you know... this guy. ...or, guys? i use they pronouns for god, not because they're nonbinary rep or anything but because the classic collection uses they pronouns for god because they are literally plural. so, multiple guys.

a. the universe's first inhabitants 🌟

we can't have angels (or anything, really) without god. so... what is god?

to put it simply, "god" is a small collective of beings that hail from a primordial race of creatures called aeons. contrary to popular belief, "god" did not create the universe as a whole.

that being said, they WERE the first beings to exist in the universe; gifted with near-immortality and the power of creation, they were essentially burdened the cosmic purpose of bringing the universe to life. think of them as... like, demiurges, really. despite being the first beings in the universe, they didn't really start popping up until ~370,000 years into the universe existing.

(whether or not there is a "supreme" being above them isn't something i've given TOO much thought to. my working idea is that the universe is quite literally a supreme being in itself.)

so, our "god" is not the only ones of their kind. there isn't a large amount of them, but considering the size of the universe and how it's ever-expanding... there's enough of them to go around, you know.

as the early stages of the universe progress, they start to become aware of the existence of each other. it's difficult to be what is essentially a god and be unaware of the presences that surround you.

the attitudes that they held towards each other varied from aeon to aeon. some of them worked in tandem, others remained solitary. some of them competed with others, and others dedicated themselves to watching over their corner of the universe and making it a home.

there weren't many "overstepped boundaries" in the infinitely expanding stretch of space they had at their disposal. in the early stages of the universe, there was no need for that kind of thing. they all mostly stayed in their own lanes.

during the early epochs, they mostly just spent their time experimenting, growing and changing, and learning the ins and outs of their little cosmic playground.

due to the nature and scope of their abilities, and their immortality, they were mostly aware that their exploits were relatively infinitesimal. they had a very acute awareness that every planet and galaxy they created would eventually crumble.

similarly to their attitudes towards each other, the attitudes they held towards their creations varied. some liked to stay disconnected, and hopped from creation to creation, moving on as soon as they finished working on their little project. others were more involved.

in regards to their abilities, they aren't omnipotent. in fact i wouldn't even really call them omnificent. if there was a way to describe what they were able to do, it would be... transmute? the universe provided all the materials for creation, and so it was their job to use their divine power to... make something with it, really. they can't create something out of absolutely nothing. there has to be something for them to make stuff.

they also don't really have any kind of set moral compass. so none of them are inherently evil, good, bad, whatever.

of course, given the fact that they mostly reside in space (we'll get to what exactly "heaven" is in a little), they aren't necessarily bound to one physical shape or form. we love shapeshifters.

b. the devilman "god", and the prison of light 🕯️

the devilman "god" is a trio of aeons who bonded over a certainty and awareness of what they wanted from the universe. they strove to create something perfect— something beautiful. better than every other creation out there. other aeons' work was... sloppy, imperfect, and quite ugly.

as stated before, the aeons aren't necessarily physical beings. that makes it really easy for them to fuse with each other, as they aren't really bound to any kind of physics or laws governing their consciousnesses and bodies.

"so are they a hivemind" not necessarily? they're all just... fused together. the pros of fusing together like that means that one single entity now has the power of three aeons, which lets them do a lot more than if they were all separate, and on a larger scale. god is a throuple

they probably aren't the only aeon group to do this, honestly.

fun note: the devilman "god" never refers to themselves as another aeon. they always refer to themselves as a "god", and it's mainly just because they think they're better than the rest of the aeons lol. i'll be referring to them as god from here on out just because it's easier.

so, then what? god decides that they need a place for themselves. a pocket of space only for them (+ eventually, the angels). they needed a home base of sorts, a place that represented their vision as they imagined it. and so, they created heaven.

so what even is heaven? it's essentially a sub-universe, or a pocket of the universe that god hid away just for themselves.... and for the angels, which were created afterwards.

once again, i doubt heaven is the only realm of its kind. i doubt that god is the only aeon who had the idea for a "home base" of sorts.

heaven started out as a home just for god, but as angelic society grew, it eventually turned into a whole kingdom. that being said, god still has a palace Just For Them at the very top layer of it!

people don't go to heaven. nope. that doesn't happen. mainly because it's not an "afterlife".

after god created heaven and the angels, heaven because a home for all of them. heaven was created to be perfect (in the eyes of its creator), or as close to perfect as god could manage while also having a species with (sort of) free will residing within it.

heaven is almost like a hidden galaxy, except a LOTTT smaller.

heaven is mostly made up of clouds and solid energy. there are actually five layers of heaven; one for each sphere of the angelic choir, one for the Archangels, and one for god.

that isn't to say that the angels are confined to one layer. they can freely travel about, it's just that they'll usually spend time in the layer dedicated to their sphere, unless they're stationed to work elsewhere.

the need for more and more angels became more important as time went on. god became more... power hungry, and they fell harder into the belief that they alone were the ones worthy of the universe. they eventually gained a very hostile attitude towards other aeons and cosmic societies. this wasn't unheard of, really, but considering how most of them stayed in their own lanes, having god be all... aggressive was a little bit of a shock. needless to say, this resulted in the formation of enemies... and other forms of cosmic politics.

heaven and angelic culture has a lot of emphasis on architecture! ...although, not in a way you would expect. the best way i can explain it is that it's very... suess-like.

lots of staircases, lots of columns, lots of... that kind of thing...

while we're on the topic of sub-universes, we can talk a little about hell, too.

hell was actually created by the universe itself, not by the aeons or god or anything. it has always existed, and is sort of a universal collection all life and souls. sorta like the universe's garbage can for all dead things.

it’s less of an eternal resting place and more of an intermediary location you go while the universe works to basically recycle your soul and convert it back to its original state.

ii. what is an angel?: a little on angelic society

a. the angelic choir at a glance📜

angelic society as a whole is referred to as the angelic choir.

the main thing about angelic society is that it's split into different spheres based on how much power an angel has/the specific task they were made to do.

why do angels exist in the first place? they were made to be servants of god, and basically do everything that they do... for them. so, deliver messages, be soldiers, do tasks and chores and watch over the things god makes... all that kind of thing.

angels have free will, but were created with an ingrained sense of duty that usually outweighs said free will. or perhaps it influences their free will. hard to tell. that being said, most angels will not do anything if it directly contradicts their purpose.

also, angels are not inherently “good” aligned. like I said, they have free will, which means they have choices. angels can be shitty people! whether or not an angel “falls” has nothing to do with what their character is like, and everything to do with whether or not they are defiant to God.

not a lot of angels do defy god, either. an angel being kicked out of heaven is pretty rare.

anyways, back to the angelic choir... there are three spheres of angel, each with three types of angel in them. the highest ranking angels are the first order of the first sphere, and the lowest ranking are the third order of the third sphere. yeah.

in the first sphere you have the seraphim, cherubim, and thrones. the first sphere angels are the only angels that tend directly to god.

the second sphere is made up of the dominations, the virtues, and the powers.

the third sphere consists of the principalities, the arches, and the angels (generic term).

Archangels are above the first sphere in rank. they're the most powerful angels, and there aren't very many of them.

b. archangels and the angels of the first sphere🔥

Archangels, as stated before, are the most powerful angels and the ones with the most important duties. they're mostly angelic supervisors that manage angels with different specialties. who are the archangels? before lucifer's fall, there were eight different archangels.

jophiel (archangel of wisdom and inspiration), chamuel (archangel of divine justice), gabriel (archangel of revalation), raphael (archangel of healing), uriel (archangel of truth and light), zadkiel (archangel of healing), and, of course, michael (archangel of strength and courage) and lucifer (archangel of love and empathy).

the first sphere angels are the angels that are closest to god, and the only ones that can interact where with them directly. they're the least... replaceable angels, except for the archangels. that's why they don't really leave heaven.

the seraphim are the bodyguards of the throne, and those who directly guard and protect both god's palace and the different layers of heaven itself. they're stationed just about everywhere on the fifth layer of heaven, and then scattered about in the other layers just to keep an eye on everything. they're also stationed at the entrances and exits.

they're busy a LOT of the time. they take their jobs very seriously.

the seraphim are the angels that interact the most with god. the cherubim and the thrones do, too, but not as frequently.

the tradition when interacting with god is to cover their faces and bodies with their wings when interacting directly with them. it's a sort of humbling thing, to show that they regard themselves as lesser than them. just out of respect.

the cherubim are the celestial recordkeepers of heaven, and the ones that really hold the knowledge of god and heaven.

they're known for their wisdom, and they keep records of everything that happens in their part of the universe. nothing goes undocumented, really. heaven's historians are also cherubim.

along with keeping records of events, they also keep track of all of the angels that are created, and those that come in and out of heaven. and those who go out and dont come back. yeah.

jophiel is the archangel who supervises the cherubim.

the thrones are some of the most intellectual angels and have wonderful minds. they serve as both teachers, guides, and counselors for the lower ranks of the angels.

they're the ones in charge of receiving orders from god and dishing out duties to the lower ranks (dominations, mostly) and explaining them. celestial teachers, really. they're very engaged with the rest of angelic society, and are always willing to offer an explanation or a helping hand to other angels.

they're also the head order that deals with cosmic laws and making sure everything that god makes works the way it's supposed to. god doesn't really have time to keep everything in check themselves, so it's up to the thrones and the virtues to make sure their creation... functions like it should.

lucifer was supposed to the archangelic supervisor of the thrones...? but, uh... that didn't exactly.... uh.... work out....

after lucifer was cast out, jophiel was put in charge of both the thrones and the cherubim. it's a lot of work for one angel, really, but she doesn't mind.

c. angels of the second and third spheres☄️

the first order of the second sphere is the dominations. think of these guys as... well, management.

they're in charge of managing the angelic kingdoms, and of regulating the second sphere angels in lower orders.

they help keep everyone organized. there's a lot of things to keep track of.

the dominions get their orders from the thrones (who receive orders from god), and pass along orders to the principalities in the third sphere along with the virtues and powers. it's just a big chain.

zadkiel is the archangel in charge of the dominations rank. he also deals with some of the stuff that the principalities handles, but mostly sticks to dominations.

the second order of the second sphere is the virtues. if seraphim are the guards and watchers of heaven itself, then the virtues are the watchers of the universe (well, god's part of the universe, anyways).

they watch over everything god creates, from planets, galaxies, luminaries, and other celestial bodies to make sure the cosmos are in order. and that nothing is going wrong.

they work closely with certain thrones angels for this reason.

it's actually very important to make sure shit isn't going wrong. especially considering how their god's... hostile attitude... attracts some not so friendly faces.

uriel is the archangel in charge of the virtues, and because of the close ties between the virtues and the thrones, he quickly became good friends with lucifer.

the powers are the third order of the third sphere, and they make up the angelic army.

can basically be split into two groups— soldiers and healers. the soldiers were originally led by chamuel, but the job was pretty much taken over by michael once he showed up, and chamuel instead switched gears to deal more with strategizing after that. raphael supervises those more geared towards healing.

running an army is hard work, turns out. there's a lot that goes into it.

the third sphere is the most populous sphere; they're like worker bees. they're very easy to replace, and are very expendable.

third sphere angels actually leave heaven a lot. they deal with intergalactic relationships.

in the first sphere, the principalities are the main managers of the lower-ranking arches and angels. they're very similar to the dominations in that regard, and they actually get their orders from them. like i said before... it's a big chain.

they're the ones that are stuck dealing the most with cosmic politics.

arches are celestial envoys, while your everyday angels work as messengers, running back and forth between heaven and other places in space. angel postal service!

the angels and arches are also assigned most of the mundane tasks not given to any higher ranks.

usually the angels go out in groups, because there's safety in numbers, and space is REALLY big. at least one arch will accompany an angel group, and on occasion, a principality will come too, depending on how important things are.

that being said, there have been many, many instances where angels don't come back. sometimes they get lost. this happens more often than it should.

gabriel is the head messenger archangel. he's the postmaster. angel. guy.

d. okay i'll bite. what are angels made of. aka, angel physiology 🌠

angels are special. lol.

they're made of photon energy (in the case of most angels) and thermal energy (in the case of seraphim).

(lucifer is an Archangel, so he is... as stated above, made of photons.)

as stated before, god can't create something out of nothing. the energy needed to create angels actually is specific to the energy emitted from dying stars. every angel comes from the death of a star.

so, this means a couple of things. first of all, as angels are created, not born, they don't actually have a functional reproductive system. because they weren't created with the intention of reproduction. the genitalia is decorative essentially tbh. also, every angel looks like this. it's definitely not a reproductive thing. it's entirely aesthetic.

"romance" is essentially nonexistent in angel culture. uh, they all see each other as some kind of equivalent of siblings, considering they were all made directly by the same creator. they all refer to god as their parents, and so they all see each other as siblings.

(that being said, it's not like they're incapable of love or anything. ryosatanlucifer retains his feelings for akira even after he turns back into an angel, so it's not like he can't feel love or anything like that. i mean, that should be obvious, but i felt the need to specify anyways)

the second thing this: angels lack all forms of physical sensation. their bodies are... kind of numb to all sense of touch, taste, smell, etc. they are, in some circumstances, intangible. what does that mean? well...

they can float through stuff sometimes. their tangibility (on earth) is actually up to them. so, for example, if they wanted to, they could float through a door. or they could open a door by turning the doorknob. though, they wouldn't be able to experience the sensation of actually touching the doorknob.

anywho. there are actual a few variations of angelic appearance depending on what rank of angel they are! i have... erm... drawn a few examples of some of the angels, but not a whole lot? ahh.... there they are anyways. some of the descriptions are a little outdated bc i've changed into since then but YEAH!!

Archangels, at the very top of the angelic choir, are beautiful with 12 large snow-white wings— two on the head, two from the shoulderblades, two on the middle back, two on the lower back, on on each arm and one on each ankle. they’re all nearly identical- though, most of the angels within each order looks nearly identical. they’re identical in the way that cats of the same coat color and breed are identical. michael and lucifer are actually identical, though, because they’re like real life twins, and are born from the same star. yeah!

seraphim are made from condensed thermal energy rather than light energy. they’re super hot. Lol. they have 10 wings (head, shoulders, lower back, arms, and ankles) unlike the Archangel’s 12. They’re warmer in color scheme than the Archangels, which are usually a sort of yellow-white color? they glow. seraphim are more red-orange because they’re… heat. They also have the ability to manifest flames out of their body, though it’s kind of just for show considering how it can't really do anything.

the cherubim are covered in eyes. or, their wings are covered in eyes- they have 8 of them! wings, I mean (head, shoulders, lower back, and ankles). they have way more than eight eyes. Also, they can open eyes up on their bodies when they get really stressed or angry! it’s a fun neat cherubim trait. all the cherubim are so tired. let them go home please.

the thrones are the third order in the first sphere of the Angelic choir, and these are our ringy-boys. they're the angels with the most emphasis on halos- they can make them spin really fast and manifest more rings around them whenever they feel strongly or honestly just when they want to. they’re usually surrounded by them, just as a sort of status thing. they typically serve as messenger angels (delivering orders to the second sphere) and bodyguards for the cherubim. they have 6 pairs of wings (head, shoulders, and lower back).

from there on out appearance is mostly dictated by sphere— second sphere angels (dominations, virtues, and powers) have two sets of wings (on the head and the shoulders), while first sphere angels (principalities, arches, and angels) have only one set of wings on their shoulders, and look pretty similar to the standard depiction of angels.

e. some more about angel culture in general

i just wanted to share some more fun little details about angel culture, because there IS stuff beyond work for these guys lol

society is really easy to be sustained when there's no need for "hard labor", and when everyone is created with a sense of purpose. and the fact that they don't really need to eat or anything.

since there isn't much of a need for extra work outside of everyone's Assigned Jobs, when there is free time, it's mostly dedicated to the arts. there's actually a LOT of focus on art in angelic culture!

though, it's a lot less... genuine? than "human art". the idea of "perfection" is heavily exalted in angelic society, mainly because that's what god wishes for, and god is the One Real Authority in their society. a lot of angelic art tries to reflect this idea of perfect beauty that they've had drilled into their heads from the beginning of their existence.

of course, perfection is unachievable for the angels. so sad.

art that depicts any kind of "flaw" is entirely unheard of. angels are the ultimate perfectionists.

since none of the angels actually LOOK at god (the archangels and first spheres cover their eyes with their wings when they come in direct contact with them), a lot of art is actually of god. it's always sort of a contest to see how perfectly and beautiful they can depict god. it's a form of worship, really.

they do have a written language. but "novels" aren't really a thing. they aren't super big on fiction. what's the point of that?

instead, they use written language to keep historical accounts, archive events, and write PSALMS. so so many psalms. they really love to write music dedicated to praising their god.

"music" in quotes, because it's... not exactly comparable to human music. it's angel music, guys. cmon.

they also like writing poetry a lot.

because of the way they worship perfection in art/writing, things end up feeling a little bit... sterile? yeah.

obviously, since they are in space, they don't use any kind of timescale similar to days/hours/weeks/etc. there's a sort of "day" equivalent in which things are a lot... brighter? but that's really it.

angels don't age, either. they have no concept of age.

they do have another consistent method of keeping time, though, and it's based on how long it takes for angels (third rank of the third sphere) to be created. lower rank angels are really being produced at a constant rate, to make up for losses, so it's easy to divide time this way. the time it takes to make one angel = one angelic "day".

they don't really have any equivalent of years, instead naming longer periods of time (ages) after whatever archangel was created last. so, the age of gabriel, or the age of uriel.

when michael and lucifer were made At the same Time, the cherubim got into a lot of arguments over who to name the age after. it wasn't like there was any way to choose between the two.

so they just decided on both eventually. lol. they called it the age of lucifer and michael.

after lucifer well, a new Age started. so the age of lucifer and michael and the age of michael are two separate time periods.

michael is sooooooooooooo cocky about that, too. what a bitch.

anyways, like stated before, the idea of perfection is super important to angels. to them, god represents the ULTIMATE perfection.

and on that same note, talking bad about god, and going against god's will, is a very big NO!!!!!!. they REALLY do not do that.

Sigh. It’s quiet today, so I guess it’s about time to talk about 12x06: Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox.

This is an episode without Cas, so clearly it revolves entirely around Cas (I'm kidding, but only a little bit). It’s also a bottle episode and a meta writer’s wet dream, so excuse me while I nerd out - this is a long one to unpack, and I have spent too much time doing it for you. That’s ok because, as Sam says:

DIVE IN AFTER THE CUT BUDDIES!

The Asa montage is where we start.

Asa is a Dean mirror. The parallels are pretty clear - he’s a scruffy rough around the edges hunter, Mary is the reason he got into hunting, he wears a ton of flannel, etc. If you remain unsure, the writers throw this in at the very beginning in the montage of Asa’s life as a hunter So That You Know:

Bucky: Hey, you know they make new cars, right? Asa: I don’t want a new car. This is my lucky car.

***Canadian!Dean confirmed.

We’re clearly supposed to see how Jody is a mom figure for the boys, and it feels nice for them to have that, especially since Mary is Taking Some Space. Their entire dynamic warms even my cold black soul.

This is a perfect example of Dean struggling to present some fabricated image of heteronormative masculinity that’s not the heart of who he actually is. His surprise that a “badass sheriff chick” can also enjoy rom coms makes me fucking upset.

Anyway, Asa has passed on and the boys tag along with Jody to the wake in support.

SAM

Yeah, no, Jody. We… we know you’ll be fine, but… you know, we never go to hunter gatherings, outside of bars. Dad always said they were trouble, so…

DEAN

Yes, you’d be doing us a favor if you let us tag along.

***more receipts that John Winchester was an isolating abuser. They could have at least had a normal HUNTER life and friends who hunted.

SAM

That is a big house. [Music continues playing, coming from inside the house now]

JODY

Family home. Asa was just a guy.

AKA pretty brutal implication that Asa didn’t have a family of his own.

***Compare the expressions. The “you’ve died four times” response is the same as the smug/proud “I killed Hitler” face. The reaction to the “stories” is the “hey this is my personal business” reaction Dean had to Sam’s Japanese erotica art form comment. He is thinking specifically about something personal.

I wonder what it could be.

I don’t think any one had to teach Max Banes the art of seduction, but also thank you.

Also, manifesting Dean being raised by Max and Alicia’s Cool Witch Mom instead of John Trash Winchester. Because that’s what we’re supposed to think here, correct? Two sibling hunters usually present a brother mirror.

Worth noting Sam’s surprise that witches can also be hunters. The John Winchester Bigotry Brain Rot runs deep. (GOD the Sam-witch thing would have driven him crazy I LIVE FOR THAT).

Dean escapes to Asa’s office/room and proceeds to go through his things.

[Dean is in Asa’s office and finds an angel blade mounted on blue velvet inside an ornate glass-lidded box. He opens it, reaches in and pulls out the angel blade, comfortably spinning it in his hand when Sam walks in.]

SAM

Hey.

DEAN

Oh, hi. This is a real Angel Blade. I mean, this guy was legit.

***that’s weird, why does Canadian!Dean have an angel blade? We haven’t heard anything about angels yet, and it wasn’t in the opening montage. Hmmmmmm, I say. Hmmmmmmm...

***Sam is also concerned about The Stories They Tell

This one particularly:

Honestly I don’t know why he’s THAT surprised that people know he was possessed by Lucifer? Didn’t he start like multiple apocalypses? That’s something people tend to be in the know about. Anyhoo.

DEAN

Yeah. Apparently we’re a little bit legendary.

SAM

Yeah, but, I mean, so was Asa. Then a hunt went bad, and he ended up hanging from a tree, alone in the woods.

DEAN

He died on the job. No better way to go.

SAM

You really believe that?

DEAN

Yeah. What, you don’t? I mean, come on, Sam, it's not like we're in the “live till you're 90, die in your sleep” business. This? [Dean points at Asa’s hunting wall] This only ends one way.

***Insert deep internal screaming about 15x20 here***

It’s Jody’s turn to be uncomfortable as we find out she and Asa were more than just friends and everyone knew it and Said Things About It and Told Stories About It.

HMMMMMMM...

Dean is surprised that Jody not only enjoys rom coms, but ruggedly hot men. Another thing they have in common.

As Dean comes to terms with the idea that Jody can be a mother figure and also a human person with a life and her own feelings and needs and thoughts, enter the person whom said lesson is actually about:

***Killing Hitler used yet again to show Dean doesn’t care about oversharing hunting stories, but he doesn’t like for people to know personal ones. Also, Jody mentions her son and her husband. Her family and her romantic partner.

Dean wasn’t just reunited with Mary this season. He was also reunited with Cas, after saying goodbye to him at the end of Season 11 when he headed to what he thought was going to be his death as the Amara-bomb.

So, this conversation isn't just about Mary (the “anything”). It’s also about Cas (the”...absolutely anything”).

Mary chats with Mama Fox and more Points Are Made about hunters not getting to have a “normal life” or family:

Gets me thinking that Dean’s feelings for Cas are made twice as complicated by the fact that he is also a supernatural creature. Another Reason Why John Winchester Would Disapprove.

****Just as he would Disapprove of Sam Being Possessed By the Devil and all that (never forget he told Dean to kill him because of the whole made unclean by demon blood thing).

Oh, I have heard so many stories about you Winchesters. And I desperately want the Lucifer thing to be true.

***Stories again. Jael proceeds to go into Stories That Are Dark Personal Shameful Secrets:

As for the rest of you, I have been inside your heads. I know all about you. For example, the twins. Too frightened to tell anyone that they actually came to say goodbye to their daddy. Or the grieving mother who hated the fact that her son was a hunter so much she’d hide his gear, she’d sabotage his Jeep, anything to keep him from hunting. Not that it worked. Could’ve tried harder, huh?

[She gestures at her own face] And this meatsuit you all seem to care so much about. She actually fantasized about a life with Asa. Can you believe that? Like that worthless man–

[Bucky gets off the floor and sneaks up behind Jody/Jael]

BUCKY

Shut your filthy mouth.

[Jody/Jael grabs Bucky by the neck and forces him to his knees]

***Excuse me? THIS IS GETTING VERY...subtextual. A dark timeline supernatural being/hunter relationship [ending badly because demons only know how to take, consume and possess]? ...Asael? CURIOUS.

They chant the exorcism, a different hunter doing each iteration (beautifully done)

and send Jael back to hell, but not before Bucky shares his Shameful Story - he’s the one who killed Asa.

Asa, he was just all– he was just always so stubborn. Look, we were in the woods. [We see the scene play out as Bucky describes it] Jael, he… he was taunting him. Asa wanted to chase him, but he didn’t have the angel blade. I said, “Let’s go back.” He called me a coward, and he shoved me, so I shoved him back, and he fell. He hit his head. Asa? I didn’t mean to do it. But it was a mistake. Asa. Asa? An accident. I’m sorry. I didn’t know what to do. Asa hated that damn demon so much that I just…

DEAN

Oh, you thought people would buy that Jael killed him? So you hung your best friend to cover your own ass.

BUCKY

What are you gonna do to me?

ALICIA:

Tell everyone, every hunter we meet. They’re gonna know your name, Bucky. Know what you did.

MAX

You like stories. This is the story everyone’s gonna tell about you. Forever.

What if the MC gets transported to the Celestial Realm instead? What if the angels were the love interests?

Has a penchant for perfection

Give him a task and you bet your ass he’ll come back finished with results so phenomenal you’re sure that if you did it, there’s no way it would turn out this great

Reserved, but not exactly anti-social

It’s not that he doesn’t want to talk about himself whenever people ask about him, but it’s just that he thinks there are a million other things that are worth more to converse about than his exploits or the things he enjoyed

Chastity doesn’t just mean staying pure by abstaining from sexual relations and the lack of temptations one experiences, but being placed in the face of temptation and yet staying true to one’s morals. This is why Uriel doesn’t condemn anyone who decides to engage in such acts, whether within the sanctity of marriage or not, whether it is done because all parties hold sincere feelings for one another or not.

Gone is the ancient time and the rules that once applied then cannot be the same for current times. This is why Uriel has made it his mission to continuously study about humans, to stay up to date with the way they thought and felt so as he can better serve as a guiding beacon to them

When he’s not busy with his regular duties, you would normally find Uriel at the Celestial realm’s library with stacks of reference books on his table. Time is nothing to them, which is why for him it felt as if humans changed too quickly in so little time

An ideology that may have taken decades or centuries to form is but a blink of an eye to them which is why Mr. Perfectionist can’t help but immediately want to be informed in the hopes that it will help him improve himself

If he doesn’t keep adding and updating to his knowledge then how can he even hope to be one of the guiding virtues of humanity with outdated ideals?

Ideals can and will change over time, but his morals are the one thing that Uriel will never change.

His mind and body may be corrupted over time, because eternity is such a long time indeed, but the morals that made him who he is, what HE is will always stay the same

Tbh you can’t tempt this guy with anything

If you do manage to “tempt” him, know that you didn’t actually succeed but he just liked/pitied you enough to go with whatever fuckery you wanted him to commit

That's why he normally agrees with whatever bullshit his twin brother, Gabriel, tries to wrangle him into

Uriel ain't doing it because Gabriel tempted him, but because he loved his twin so much that he's willing to indulge him whenever he wanted to fuck shit up

Gabriel is the one who starts messes and Uriel is the one who just lets him be, because he's a supportive big brother

...Much to most of the other virtues' ever increasing stress

Is an advocate of "actions speak louder than words"

He's a serial head-patter

Will boop your nose when he notices you're a bit too lost in your thoughts

Azrael is normally the victim of his headpats and nose-boops

Since he makes it his job to know all that IS known, he finds some modicum of interest in that of the UNknown

Things like extraterrestrial beings for example. Basically, anything that didn't belong to any of the 3 worlds was within his scope of interest

If you check his YouTube history you'll see it's filled with UFO sightings, conspiracy theories, UMAs, etc.

Probably joined that raid in Area 51 while undercover—

Asks Gabriel to bring him souvenirs and pictures whenever his job takes him to a location near hotspots for UMAs, UFOs, and other strange otherworldly phenomena

Reminds Azrael every now and then to inform him if he ever ferries a soul that had come across any UMA and ask them about their encounter

As the virtue of chastity, it's up to him to teach the little cherubims about the birds and the bees as part of their training to become full-fledged angels

More often than not, his terminology and clinical way of explaining has traumatized most of the little ones…

...much to Raphael's increasing stress

What's worse is that he even has diagrams for it

So many little cherubims lost their innocence to Uriel-sensei…

He doesn't purposely try to annoy Raphael unlike Gabriel, it's just that his actions and way of going about things aren't the way most people would fo it and what's worse is that he unintentionally traumatizes people

And it's usually up to Raphael to do damage control on all the virtues' behalf

Raphael almost killed him that day he had to give that talk to Luke and his batch

"...What's wrong about telling them what happens between a man and a woman? It's biology and something that's done frequently by humans"

He doesn't see the point of beating around the bush when their purpose was to teach the new recruits about humanity and everything about them, including how they reproduce

Favorite food is pancakes…

Uriel enjoys stargazing at night, not just to look at the heavenly bodies but to spot any UFOs if he's lucky enough

He isn't particularly bad at cooking, but he's not great either

Pancakes are what he's most confident in cooking and he makes the best darn ones in all of the celestial realm

If he's the only one left at home and you're sick, don't expect chicken soup and be ready instead for a stack of warm and fluffy pancakes topped with some butter and generous helping of syrup, whipped cream, berries, and etc.

When the day finally comes that he falls in love with someone...the 3 worlds will know true fear—

But legit though, all those millennia of being a single pringle and practicing so much restraint flies out the window when this man finds himself utterly and deeply in love with you

Of course, regardless of how much he wanted you to become his that didn't mean he suddenly turned into some sort of barbaric brute that kidnapped women for sport

He will study you so thoroughly that at times it almost feels like he knows you more than you know yourself

The little mannerisms you make during your everyday life that escape your notice? It's a given that Uriel has seen and already safely filed them away in his mind for future reference

"...She likes pointing with her lips?...Cute…" What he wouldn't give to catch you doing that while he was with you so he could partake of your lips as well—

Once he’s interested in you, only God knows at this point what has to be done for him to even lose a small bit of it

You have essentially become a key figure in Uriel’s world

Uriel always has you at the back of his mind to the point that it could even be called obsessive

However, he’s still the virtue of chastity so you don’t have to worry about him ever forcing himself upon you or anything of that sort

He’s super clingy and sorta weird, but he loves you and the last thing he wanted is for you to become sad because of him or anything else

Though he honestly can’t deny that seeing the myriad of expressions on your face, from happiness to sadness, to surprise, excitement, anger, and etc. was one of his favorite hobbies ever since falling for you

Despite his earnest wish to make you his, Uriel surprisingly takes a long time to even confess

He’s a perfectionist so it’s a given that he’ll take everything into account, including how he’ll make you fall for him first before he even thinks about confessing

Bothers Raphael for some “research material” on how to woo you a.k.a. borrow some romance manga despite Raph’s initial protests

His face is as straight-laced as it always is, but if you knew him long enough and looked closer, you’d notice that his ears seemed to have the slightest twinge of redness to them.

Honestly speaking, he tries to be a smooth and cool boi when it comes to you, but this dork seems to lose all his tact when faced with the radiance of your eyes and the intensity of your smile

With how long it takes him to make everything perfect before he woo’s you, time and space itself will cease to exist before he finally deems himself ready

So you have to do the wooing yourself and show him that you love all of him, imperfections and quirkiness included

I told you not to get me started LOL

So, I was talking about Raphael with my good friend (shout out to @cutecookielove33) okay I told her not to get be started, but she did lol.

Okay, Raphael is my favorite Archangel, hands down. Gabriel is a coward, Michael is a tyrant, and Lucifer is an asshole. But, Raphael doesnt seem like an asshole to me, he’s the Healer.

I’ve done a lot of research on him to make sure I get his personality right in my own canon. Raphael is supposed to be kind and compassionate, and have a good sense of humor. So after reading about him and researching him, I think he would be kind and compassionate, and I know what you’re going to say, “But he was such a dick to Castiel” (first off, don’t get me started on that bitch, we’ll be here all year). Well, if the Archangels were created to lead Heaven in God’s absence, the task of leading the Host is Raphael’s by ‘birthright’, wouldn’t you be pissed off if someone was trying to take what’s rightfully yours?

We only ever saw Raphael interacting with Castiel, we never saw him interacting with the other members of the Host. In my opinion, he would have been a good leader, he seems level headed, orderly, and peaceful. Once again, I know what you’re going to say, “Well he wanted the angels to bow down to him” well, we never actually learned what he meant by that, he could have very well meant that he wants the Host to recognize him as their new leader, we never got to learn what he meant, it was just automatically eluded to as though it was a bad thing because Castiel thought it was a bad thing, just as we were led to believe Raphael was a bad guy, because the Winchesters and their pet angel thought he was a bad guy, but we don’t honestly know how he is, personality wise, because they never bothered to go into detail about him, there was so much potential that was lost when it came to him, he was treated unfairly.

Here’s a few things that won me over for him:

1. His choosing of vessels. I like that he’s not sexist, and by that I mean that he uses both female and male vessels, tho he clearly prefers male pronouns, as he referred to himself as ‘brother’ when he was using a female vessel.

2. His power. In my opinion, he’s the only Archangel who truly lived up to the moniker of Heaven’s Most Terrifying Weapon, he’s powerful and it shows. They were all just a bit afraid of him when Castiel and Dean summoned him, which also leads me to how threatening and truly dangerous he can be. Like when he told Dean that Zachariah’s imagination has nothing on his, which gives the impression that Stomach Cancer is the least he can do, and as the Healer and the fact that he’s been around for so long, he has access to a multitude of deadly diseases, he practically has Biochemical Warfare at his finger tips.

3. That fact that he doesn’t take Castiel’s bullshit, which is something in its self, because there’s just so much of it. I absolutely love that about him.

4. I LOVE the fast that he’s a person of color, which not only gives a sense of diversity among the angels, and he clearly had a preference for that race, as both of his vessels were persons of color and he chose both of them that way when he had the opportunity to choose a white person to be his vessel, and he didn’t, and I highly respect that.

And, just briefly, I want to touch up on that last one, that the show always kills off persons of color, which definitely eludes to the show being completely white washed, which is very shitty. Now, some might not like this sentiment, and to those people, you can kindly fuck off because I don’t have time for your denial type of bullshit.

In my canon, I mix the supernatural version with the lore version. Raphael is kind hearted, compassionate, loving, and protective. But at the same time, he’s a no nonsense kind of person, he expects to be treated with respect and will not accept anything less, he can be your best friend, until you cross him, and then he can be your worst enemy. His temper is volatile and can be very violent and destructive, and though he rarely loses his temper, everyone, the other Archangels included, steer away from him until he calms down. He’s got a wicked sense of humor and can give just out just as good as he gets. He’s very protective of his younger siblings and will stand against God Himself if it was needed. When he sentences people to be incarcerated, he’s factually based, he wants to know what happened, he wants to hear the story from both sides, he wants to know the details, he wants to see and talk to witnesses if there are any to be had, he imposes his judgement on the facts and nothing more. He objects when Michael goes to sentence Gadreel and Abner, tho his objections is ultimately overturned by Michael, something of which pulls him away from the older Archangel, and calls a fool and a tyrant, he’s not afraid to call ANYONE out on their bullshit. Raphael can be particularly strict, and has a certain set of rules and expectations that are to be followed and met to the best of ones ability. He’s not a hardass though, all he wants is for you to be and try your best. He’s a strict disciplinarian, a spare the rod kind of guy, and firmly believe in corporal punishment, and as soon as it’s over you’re forgiven, the transgression is in the past and will be spoken of no more. He’s forgiving and understanding and believes in second chances, that’s it’s possible for nearly everyone to be rehabilitated, and will do his best to help you help yourself.

Okay, sorry, I’ll stop gushing.

An unexpected visit (part 5)

Both Gabriel and Lilith took more time to collect their thoughts and put themselves together. Especially for archangel, whose views were once more broken, but this time almost instantly. He looked at Lilith again.

Gabriel: How did you...meet your human?

Lilith: Well, after no success with the relationship between me and Lucifer, and after several eons and years of ruling Hell, I felt a need of someone that could fill my life with simplicity and honesty. And so I went to a mortal realm. In one of my own houses, I was ordering a pizza and half an hour later, a pizza delivery guy came to my home. That was the day when I got interested in him and so, I kept an eye on him. I felt like he was not an ordinary pizza delivery guy. One day we became friends and for several weeks we were friends with benefits.

Gabriel: I thought that it’s more typical for mortals.

Lilith: Not really~ Anyways, I learned that his name is Jeff and that he had a...difficult relationship with his family. I would say even toxic one. I was watching over them from time to time as learned more and more about his family. They wanted to use him as a tool to get richer and more powerful, while he wanted to live a simple life. And so he left them and became a pizza delivery guy.

Gabriel: Damn, there are still toxic families in this world?

Lilith: Unfortunately, yes. But such choice gave him a chance to live as he wants and be independent from his family.

Gabriel: I see...And how did he guess that you were not a human?

Lilith: It didn’t take too long as my behavior was not like any ordinary woman. But like I said before, he didn’t run away or used his force against me. We had feelings to each other, and one day we had a chat, where I told him about me and he told me about himself. Since then we’re together, and our feelings stay true and strong.

Gabriel: I see....I’m honestly surprised.

Lilith: That’s okay~ Also, why did you ask me about my human?

Gabriel: I honestly was curious how it happened with you and if it’s different from my situation.

Lilith: Well, if you tell me about your human like I did, we will see the difference~

Gabriel: Fair point. Well, it was honestly happened unexpectedly. I was searching for good flowers to give to Raphael’s wife Rachel as in their family daughter was born and me and Michael wanted to congratulate them.

Lilith: Aww, that’s so sweet~

Gabriel: I know, right? But in Heaven we could easily pick any flower for it, and so I thought to go to the mortal realm and see if their flowers are different from Heaven. I walked around the town, but couldn’t find anything that would sparkle even my soul. Then, I bumped into one girl accidentally. She was carrying some flowers, and if not my quick reaction, they would fall. We apologized for such accident, but when I looked at her, something changed in me.

Lilith: Like butterflies in your stomach?~

Gabriel: Maybe. But it was something so strong that made me help her carrying flowers to the flower shop, where, I learnt later, she was working. When we got there, I looked around and saw a great variety of flowers. Moreover, as a thank you, she helped me with picking up good flowers for such occasions. Not just randomly picking flowers just to mix them, but with...little sense and symbolism in them. When I thanked her for the help, she told me her name - Iris.

Lilith: That’s a very beautiful name. No wonder you have a crush on her~

Gabriel: I’m still not sure if it’s really a crush. I was watching over her, we even have met each other several times. And later, we became friends.

Lilith: I see. And you still meet each other?

Gabriel: Yeah. And yet I still can’t find the answer to my feelings.

Lilith: No need to~ You know that you like her, that’s the fact~

Gabriel: Maybe yes, maybe no. What if it’s all just a lie. What if that meeting was just an accident.

Lilith: Then why do you keep being with her if it’s all just a lie to you?

Gabriel:....I don’t know anymore.

He looks down, sighing heavily.

Gabriel: I don’t know what to believe now, Lilith...If our Father’s laws are not perfect, does it mean that we....are not perfect too? Does it mean that...mortals don’t need us?

Lilith: Don’t say that, silly. If something is not perfect, it doesn’t mean we don’t need them at all.

Gabriel:...You really think so?

Lilith: Of course I do~ Or else there would be a lot of mortals with demonic powers, or worse.

Gabriel: Well, true, but our situation is more difficult. Unlike me, your human accepted your nature and your feelings. What if Iris doesn’t? What even if she accepts my nature...but won’t accept my feelings?

Lilith: You know how mortals tend to say: you never know until you try~

Gabriel: But-

Lilith: Love is such thing that can’t be explained by books or other stuff. It’s something we feel inside our bodies and souls. You’re just afraid to do a mistake, afraid to shame your title as an archangel. And yet, look at the progress you did. Such progress is already something, don’t you think?~ Besides, even we can do mistakes when we do something first time, even we learn something from them. Same here with love. Instead of pushing it away, you tried to understand it, and for the divinity it’s a great step through their pride~

She looked at Gabriel with little, but sincere smile. He didn’t like to admit, but her sister told the truth. A demon said the truth to angel, what an unexpected turn of event for him. The memories of the past crossed his mind, the moments where Lilith sometimes cheered up him like this, even tho he didn’t ask her to do it. He smiled a bit, which made Lilith be surprise for a moment, but quickly realized what he was thinking.

Lilith: Thinking of the past?

Gabriel: Huh? Oh, well...yeah. Just remembered how we used to have such chats like now. At that time the problems were not wide-scale, and yet you still wanted to help me when I was confused. I kinda felt bad that I was not skilled enough to do it by myself.

Lilith: No need to. I did it because I felt like doing it~ Besides, we were a family back then.

Gabriel: Yeah...Speaking of the past...

Lilith: Mmm?

Gabriel: Lily...are you...still mad at me? After....

Lilith: After the moment when me and Lucifer became demons?

Gabriel: Yeah, and...after everything we did.

He locked his look on Lilith’s eyes, not expecting anything from her. Lilith was puzzled for a moment, but then realized what he was talking about as giggled softly, which made Gabriel confused.

Lilith: You still think about it?~ Really?~

Gabriel: Well, I can’t help, you know how I always overthink about everything!

Lilith: Hehe, I know~ It’s one of your remarkable features~ Still, if you are curious about it, then no, I’m not~

Gabriel:....Wait, really?

Lilith: Yep~ After all, the past is the past~ It would be not wise of me to stay in the same point, don’t you think?~

Gabriel:...Fair point. But, are you sure? We did so much stuff that were against your and Lucifer’s ideas.

Lilith: And that’s natural. There is no perfect idea, point of view or opinion. That’s what makes us unique and different, but still unite us as a family.

Gabriel took a moment to think as sighed.

Gabriel: You’re right. The past is the past, we can’t come back to it.

Lilith: Yep~ So, what did you decide for yourself? I mean about Iris.

Gabriel took a moment to think again, analyzing everything that was said in this conversation. He felt that his relationship will take a long time like with Lilith and Jeff, and yet, deep inside he knew that feelings can’t lie. He wants to know more about Iris, he wants to be more with Iris, he wants to protect her, to just hold her hands, be someone she can rely on. But it required serious, maybe even heavy decisions.

Gabriel: It’s still too early to make a clear decision, as I’m still obedient to our Father’s laws. However, I do admit that Iris is important to me. Besides we gave a promise to each other to be good friends, so as an archangel I have no right to break that promise. When the time comes, I will tell her everything...myself.

Lilith: That’s my brother~

She pat him on the shoulder as it made him jump a bit from the surprise. He smiled to Lilith.

Gabriel: But I still can’t tell my brothers about it as I want to be sure they understand me. And hope that they will respect my choice.

Lilith: Like you did with Lucifer?

Gabriel:....I still can’t stand the thought of him doing something to Michael, but as long as Michael is fine, I’m calm.

Lilith: Sure sure~ I know how you can be “calm”~

Gabriel: Hey! Not you too!

She laughed as Gabriel made an irritated face, crossing his arms, which made Lilith laugh more.

Lilith: No need to be an angry hamster, I’m just kidding~

Gabriel: Yeah yeah, sure. Anyways, I think I will go back to Heaven.

Lilith: Aww, already?~ And not staying even for five minutes more?~

Gabriel: Well, I still have some duties to do.

Lilith: Okay, but let me at least show you how Cerberus looks like. So that you won’t have crazy thoughts~

Gabriel got nervous immediately as swallowed hard, already imagining how Cerberus looks like.

Gabriel: Ummm, I think I will live somehow without-

Lilith: Don’t be that stubborn, it’s only one chance to do it while Lucifer is not here~ Come on, let’s go~

He was about to say no, but Lilith grabbed his hand and together they went to the place where Cerberus was resting and chilling. Gabriel got super nervous as prayed that things don’t go too crazy.

And that's the next part of the story^^ Gabriel made a not easy decision, but seems like it will take much more time for him to get used to it and to find his inner peace XD Also, how will the meeting with Cerberus go? XD
