loved both ABM and A&M so much. i’ve seen you talk about your journey with self publishing before, and how not going the traditional route ensured you weren’t censored in any way. i think most of the books ive really loved recently have been self published as opposed to traditionally published and i don’t think that’s a coincidence. i love how wild and queer and original your writing is! i guess i just wanted to let you know how much ur hard work is appreciated by your readers <33

Ohh it was actually almost IMPOSSIBLE. It was insanely hard not to barf spoilers on Tumblr about Azazel and Cain and so on. I'm feeling a very similar way about Book 3 though... I feel like I'm going to burst from all the things that are going to happen. I'm so worried and I haven't started drafting yet

Hello! Will the third book of the angels trilogy have a transgender human character ? I kind of wonder how the angels might react to someone who felt that they were stuck in a body that didn’t align with who they are. Also, I loved Namaah in A&M, enby represent ;)

I think enby falls under the trans umbrella but if you mean binary trans person who is or has transitioned, then yes! He is a very major character, and I want to say more but it's huge spoilers. I'm really happy you loved Namaah tho! I love them :')

Though i think angels wouldn't be that confused by it; i mean, humans change their bodies in a ton of different ways (like coloring their hair or tattooing). And i think even given how conservative angels become post-fall — humans bodies change and grow naturally so this human bodily change isn't super scandalous. (and they're ambivalent toward the sanctity of human flesh because god doesn't make modern human bodies and all (the parents do)). (Human bodies are already visibly imperfect to angels so it's like Not surprising you'd have this other imperfection)

Demons would also be extremely casual about it. Lucifer drives the down with cis bus

hi! :3 I’ve been thinking about the angels (and demons) a lot recently.

I’m unsure how much influence earth and human actions/development would have on hell or the demons quite yet, but from a fashion standpoint, do you think the demons (particularly lucifer!! his wardrobe comes across as very curated and stylish, can’t forget the nipple piercings lol) would be influenced by the humans’ evolving fashion over the centuries?

Same could be said about technology — do you think any of the demons would care to have a tv, phone, computer, etc. or would it be just another human invention that isn’t very interesting? for some reason, i can picture baal with a modern phone very vividly lmfao

I do think so! I think demons would have strong opinions on human fashion regardless of how close they live to them, and I do think they'd be influenced by it. It'd take a long time to get them to adopt pants after billions of year in tunics though sksks. I imagine pants still aren't super popular in their hell. They also probably find modern fashion brands very fun; I can see Lucifer in a Gucci cape and Louis Vuitton sunglasses.

I imagine most technology doesn't work where the demons are. They'd find trains very helpful though, and I think they'd love planes (it makes them remember what the air above the clouds looks like; now I'm thinking about demon involvement in the invention of planes....)

I have this idea in my head that I may explore in the third book about demons immediately being fascinated with technology, especially as something to use against God — but their thoughts would start to change once the development gets too quick and feels aimless, and I think they'd have a discourse among themselves about, say, atomic bombs.

For the less serious part of this question though, I do think they'd own phones / tablets / laptops, but they mostly use them when they're on Earth's surface where the wifi is. I can imagine Rosier playing candy crush with an iPad. Baal spamming Lucifer with heart emojis. Asmodeus tweeting recycled discourse on Twitter just to make people mad. I think a lot of demons have social media profiles, but Lucifer asks them to hide their demon side ofc.

hi! lately i have been having problems with my time management and i wanted to ask you how have you been doing so far to get a university degree, books published, to rest and to have leisure time/social life without dying in the attempt? that’s something to be admired !! do u have any advice? 😭

I say this very lovingly but I am the wrong person to ask!!

During ABM, my social life was destroyed, I got zero sleep, and I relied too much on drinking. Do not do any of this. It was at its worst when I was working on the revision at the same time I was writing my thesis, and it did result in me having a meltdown eventually, as well as more drinking. Do not do that!

During A&M, post-graduation, it was a little easier, but I did have a lot of family responsibilities and more thrown on me, so my time management became "write at night", which made me lose sleep. (And post A&M, I've been focusing on repairing my social life sksksk.. Will this PhD destroy my life again while I try to write the third book tho? Perhaps.)

I think my biggest advice I can give you is there is no rush to publish, but also consistency is key. It's okay if you only manage a few sentences in between lecture as long as you write every day, or most days at least. Your book will be finished eventually, don't give yourself a deadline if you feel there's a lot on your plate, just focus on the story, not the publishing.

I think something I personally did was learn to get very good at reading academic papers quickly, half-paying attention during lecture while I write, and then do most of my actual learning talking to professors, asking them about the readings, and admitting I wasn't focusing in lecture (they usually don't mind and understand, to a degree). This is my experience for social science / humanities classes, so it depends on what you study, but I recommend asking yourself what you need to do to pass classes, what you actually want to learn, and how you best learn things, so you can allocate your studying time better.

Again, I don't think I'm the right person to ask how to be healthy juggling so many things, but I think asking yourself whether a good grade in a certain class really matters to you can help you decide on your schedule. I also think turning writing into a social event helps! If you have writer friends then doing sprints together is fun. I hope this is helpful! My only last piece of advice is to please get sleep, do not turn to substance abuse, and do not neglect your health.

I just finished Angel & Man and it is the most gut wrenching reading experience I've had in a LONG time. Your writing makes every angel and human feel distinct and I am absolutely horrified by basically the fate of everyone but still somehow the gentleness and love between all the horror still glowed like stars at night. I just want to say I absolutely love Samyaza, Azazel, their gaggle of poor doomed Watchers, their human lovers and their family. All of them deserves so much better. But I guess who really stuck with me personally is Armoni, he feels very aro ace? I kind of want to ask if it's intentional since I was surprised and so happy if this is the case

Well here's a doc of all the angels' canonical physical features! I made it brief on purpose and included some visuals. Some characters have no image attached not because they've never received art but because I couldn't find it easily or otherwise.
