making something (maybe)

#(hopefully)#hi. i accidentally disappeared for a bit.#the burnout got to me ngl #haven't done a single creative thing all week #i did make it to the library though #my book for feb was i'm glad my mom died #i don't usually read nonfic but. i enjoyed it. i mean #as much as you can enjoy a book with that kind of subject matter #i read it in about a day. mostly in one sitting #i've gotten a head start on my march book & i'm genuinely almost regretting my pick #like. it's a compelling read & it's written in such a way that i want to know what happens but #it's fucking horrific. rarely do i need to put a book down & have a break but. i have done so several times w this book #i'm determined to finish it though. i need to know if there's like. a point to the horrors i'm experiencing or not #uhh i did also go dvd hunting #i found season 1 & season 2 of ATLA which were cool finds #i did find them at two different thrift stores which i thought was kinda funny #i'm probably gonna watch the new live action later but idk #n e way #rainyrambles

can i ask.how u guys practice ur creativity <3 how u practice ur imagination or like.. how u experiment with ur art, how u come to ideas and how u develop them.<3 pretty please <3

#smthing i have always struggled w.is feeling like i can only draw things that r handed 2 me.#as in.an idea or concept that already exists #chara or conflict that already exists.Scene that alr exists.#and i think it can be soo limiting bc when i have that sort of creative desire but nothing 2 reflect off of it #i feel like im unable to do anything/get anywhere bc im unable to do that mental legwork myself ykwim #like comic artists r SOOO JAW DROP INSPIRING TO MEE bc not only are u envisioning ur own sequences/situations #but u are able to imagine even the most MUNDANE interactions within those scenarios u know #like the transitory panels and the quiet moments and the every day stillness #and i feel like.its not even a poor attempt on my behalf its like.i cant Even attempt it.like my brain is soo empty #and soo static and noiseless that i am like gauhh......#i can practice lines all day long and practice colors and practice anatomy or Whatever bc its something concrete #and its in front of me and i can pry apart the physical technicalities until i understand it better #but my MIND???ABSTRACTION>? This is probably Bush and also Pullings's native dialect (though I have many MANY doubts about what exactly the methodology being used here was)

#they have texts and they have informants and they have the informants read the text but i'm not really sure how that's supposed to work #anyways this is definitely the dialect pullings grew up speaking since afaik he's the son of hampshire farmers #apparently chichester is in area 5 as well so also falls under this categorization #this is very unrigorous research btw. please take everything i am saying with a grain of salt i'm just fiddling around with an old book #i'll look for a good basic primer on history/dialectology of english at the library at some point perhaps #i do not have the historical context/cross-references to verify any of this guy's claims #i just really like dialect and english-language ones are so much fun what with all the crazy vowel combos #and apparently lots of rhoticity??? he's claiming this accent was also rhotic which is a little insane #would love to read a history of rhoticity in english tbh #perce rambles #adventures in historical sociolinguistics #percy yells at cecil scott #The Creative Endeavor and other aubreyad nonsense #if you go to the source there's a lot of texts in this section i just picked one

I just think it’s silly that so many people complain about Villain Amaya as “wasted potential” and that “we were robbed” like-

My pals, post canon fan fiction is right there. The desire to free her husband is right there. Either by touching an evil book while being too eager to remember the obsidian oil, or being possessed by contact (ie what she believes is true loves kiss) when trying to reason with him in the dungeon.

We don’t need a rewrite, we can have a continuation. Both can be true. Amaya is a complex character, she can handle it.

Inti is a transfem Lion yokai, her hair (mane) grows back within two days of her cutting it off, and she’s grown not to care too much about it but prefers it shaved most of the time. She also has a very loud voice. Sometimes. It sometimes just sounds like she’s talking through a megaphone. (That’s her little ‘mystic’ thing.
