Hot take: I think there should be more non-object AND non-joke characters, that would be important for either their OCs lore, their show lore etc., because who wouldn't love to have an OC, who's, for example, a cat that is actually important and isn't there to just make a joke about how they're not an object or just do nothing and get eliminated/get hated.
Like, seriously, why are you all afraid of making interesting non-object characters, that aren't joke characters? Of course I have nothing against non-object joke characters, because I love Yellow Face from BFDI series and also I really like David and Dora, but MAN things could be way cooler if there were more non-object non-joke characters, who were for example guards over objects, or even were a co-host, or heck, had lots of knowledge over objects.
Just imagine the scenerio, where a bunch of objects need help and, instead of going to the host of the competition/their other friends - they decide to go to, for example, a cat to ask for an advice for help and the cat actually helps, instead of being there for humour. Or even better - a group of objects have to save the world from something and they're deciding to get help from a dragon, who helps them get rid of the danger!
Just imagine it... Imagine it how epic those things would become if we got to see more important non-object non-joke characters!

I AM SOSOSSO SORRY I WAS UNMOTIVATED HERE IS MY YOKAI OC INTI (and a Little sketch of her gf Vayu)
Inti is a transfem Lion yokai, her hair (mane) grows back within two days of her cutting it off, and she’s grown not to care too much about it but prefers it shaved most of the time. She also has a very loud voice. Sometimes. It sometimes just sounds like she’s talking through a megaphone. (That’s her little ‘mystic’ thing.
her gf, Vayu, is a Hayena yokai. She glows.

Hailing from cold countries means that Sokol and Wolf have something to say whenever the other heisters from warmer climes complain of the cooling temperatures.
“This is nothing,” Sokol would sneer at whoever begun shivering first in their work wear during a stakeout. “This isn’t even single digit temperature. This isn’t even negative temperature.”
Wolf would shake his head mockingly. “They’ll be pulling out their scarves and gloves any second now.”
Their obnoxious behaviour around wintertime accelerated as indeed their fellow crewmates soon after began donning thick layers of clothing, hurrying into the Safehouse from the outdoors bundled up in heavy coats, thick scarves and woolly hats.
The pair even asked Bain if they were allowed to wear shorts whilst heisting.
“For safety reasons, it’s gonna be a no, fellas,” Bain said sternly. “Those long pants are for your own protection.”
Both Sokol and Wolf nodded to show they understood.
So imagine everyone's surprise when the pair showed up to their next heist in shorts they had clearly made themselves with kitchen scissors.
Sokol had cut his homemade shorts to land just above the knee, adding further rips and holes to make his look more fashion-forward. The length emphasised the swollen curves of his calves, causing the eye to trail across the muscles over and over.
Wolf had opted for a simpler look - keeping the hem messy with loose stitching, he fashioned himself a pair of hot-pants out of old work trousers.
“What?” he asked loudly, as innocently as he could, gazing at his fellow heisters who were wearing thick woollen vests over their crisp white shirts and thermal leggings under their trousers.
Chains didn’t know where to look and ended up gazing at the stars in the night sky above. Hoxton wolf-whistled and nodded approvingly, looking the pair up and down, wearing a leery grin on his face. Dallas fought to keep a straight face, knowing he needed to be the voice of reason. His mouth worked as he struggled back his laughter.

Thanks @simadillo for helping me with Sims 4 Studio problem! I deleted the post already. I wanted to try to recolor some hairs but I think I'm going to wait for that and focus on my story for now. I really struggle with following directions/tutorials. I'm on a waiting list to get evaluated for ADHD so I hope I can get started on some medication within the next couple of months. I have so many things I want to learn but they require executive function. Once my brain gets it together, I'll be unstoppable lol

I don't think many people realize how much they've been turned into a bunch of casually cynical jerks.
Someone may come to their parents and say "I want to write a book" and their parents will say "it's really hard to get published".
Someone might confide in their sibling and say "I want to sell my art on "x" platform" and that sibling will say "do you know how many people you'd be competing with? Do you know how many shops are even on that platform?"
I know a kid who once told his best friend "I think I wanna start a dnd podcast" and the friend was like "do you know what the word "oversaturation" means?"
Personally, I don't know why any of that matters? And even if it did, perhaps your response should be "Do it! Do it and see where it goes!"
