i’m still undecided in which agency member i believe will be transferred to the port mafia, but i would like to expand on the possibility of it being dazai, because concerns seem to be growing by the hour.
firstly, i would like to draw attention to these official arts, as i find it very curious that dazai is wearing his port mafia bandages in conjunction with his agency attire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this isn’t an isolated instance, it seems, so i’m wondering what the reasoning for this is, if not to allude to future events. (apart from referencing his past in the port mafia, but i'm trying to see this from the other perspective.) it feels very intentional on harukawa's part.
there is also the case of potential foreshadowing in the osamu dazai and the dark era light novel.
“…dazai’s capabilities are astounding. i’m sure in four or five years, he’ll have killed me and taken my place.”
these are words spoken by mori to odasaku while he is recruiting him to locate ango, taking place when dazai was eighteen. if this were to be a correct prediction, then it would place him at around twenty-two or twenty-three at time he gained the status of leader.
if provided the opportunity, surely mori would retrieve such a valuable asset?
Tumblr media
many dispute this due to mori forcing dazai out of the mafia, but the reasoning for that makes quite a bit of sense when you take into consideration mori’s values.
mori believes that, as leader of an organization, you must devote your very being to maintain stability.
“mori ougai’s belief as the boss is…“the boss stands on top of the organization, and at the same time, be the slave of all.” for the sake of the organization, the boss must always take the “logical optimal solution.” that is the duty of the boss. there is an unspoken additional point to it. therefore, no matter how much your heart aches, you have to ignore your personal feelings.”
asagiri for the bsd exhibition
despite being his protégé, it doesn’t seem that mori felt dazai to be the perfect fit for leader during his time in the port mafia. this is due to dazai being overly emotional.
mori was able to suppress his emotions, whereas dazai let his emotional responses dictate his actions. this is exemplified by him changing course in life after odasaku’s death, done so in the name of keeping a promise to his closest friend.
while mori certainly regrets losing his subordinate, he is able to set aside his own reservations toward the loss, the outcome of which results in him gaining a gifted business permit. this is the “optimal solution” he sought after. dazai, however, could never justify sacrificing oda for the sake of a permit, hence the feelings of betrayal he’s fostered towards mori in the years since. while he understands why mori did what he did, he cannot disregard his own emotional connection to odasaku.
in the present day, however, dazai seems to have developed this ability—to remove the emotional aspects from a situation, and choose the most logical course of action. this is seen throughout the most recent arcs. for example, possibly sacrificing himself in meursault, directing akutagawa to save atsushi at the risk of his own life, etc. weighing the risks and the rewards, and choosing the most viable option.
Tumblr media
(even if mori doesn’t choose dazai, there's the possibility that dazai just might volunteer himself for the sake of his coworkers. his self-sacrificial tendencies have been quite prevalent as of late.)
while dazai wouldn’t have been a preferable candidate in the past, he has matured since, and mori has realized this, with him keeping dazai’s executive seat open in the event he wishes to return. actually, i think this was quite intentional on mori’s part—similarly to how dazai manages shin soukoku, mori likely forced this for dazai’s own development.
another detail worth noting is the way in which dazai’s eyes have been drawn in the more recent chapters. as we know, harukawa depicts a character’s progression and alignment through their eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the recent chapters, dazai has been portrayed with an obscured eye multiple times. this is indicative of his port mafia “demon prodigy” persona being utilized during the chess match against fyodor.
there is also the concern of dazai’s crimes being made public. as it stands, while the agency is sure to be absolved of all charges, dazai’s crimes are separate, which isn’t particularly an easy fix.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ango has done it in the past through the use of mushitaro’s ability, sure, but seeing as dazai has literally staged a prison break from supposedly the world’s most secure ability user detention facility, i’m not too certain that this would be an effective method of clearing his criminal record.
this doesn’t cover all of it, either. there is quite a bit of foreshadowing within the anime to support this theory, but i have reached the photo limit on this post, so i will leave that for others to cover.
if you’ve made it this far, i applaud you. thank you for reading!!!

Someone DM me insisting that Belos is a Hate Sink unlike Lord Voldemort because "their fantasy crimes are too unrealistic to be hated" unlike Belos who "is a human planning to murder all the witches, who are highly similar to humans." And I'm like, did you even read Harry Potter (I mean, there are legit reasons not to)?
"This fantasy wizard who is planning witch genocide is too unrealistic unlike that other fantasy wizard who is also planning witch genocide!!"
No seriously, it's funny because Belos and Voldemort have a lot of similarities and to say that one is more realistic than the other is absurd: Both are former humans who perverted and destroyed their bodies through the misuse of magic, both see their group as superior to another group that is just minding its own business, both seek to destroy said group because of that preconceived sense of superiority. Both even brand their followers with magical tattoos to signify that difference! The causes of their motivation are different but they are functionally the same.
Back when Harry Potter was the biggest fandom in the world, a lot of people made comparisons to Voldemort's Death Eaters to the Nazis; both are obsessed with blood purity and seek to rid the world of those they consider impure and to have their supreme leader rule everyone.
Like, it's really obvious.
The fantasy genre as a whole has an escapist element and a common plot that pops up a lot is the "diverse group of heroes set out to destroy the Big Evil trying to take over the world as Supreme Dictator For Life." It's an easy Good vs. Bad plot and if you add in how the Big Bad oppresses people based on physical traits, beliefs, etc. then you can easily read a political angle as well.
And honestly, really good and memorable villains will have that real world element to make the threat more believable and engaging for the audience: Voldemort is basically Wizard Hitler, Darth Vader is an authoritarian, etc. So the idea that a villain is so hated because their "fantasy crimes are too realistic" is laughable.
(Also, as a side note, it's really funny that that person said that TOH witches are really similar to humans while HP witches and wizards are literally just humans without any pointy ears to physically distinguish them from Muggles.)
I honestly think the reason why Belos is so hated is because of Hunter--full stop. If he wasn't abusive toward Hunter and people didn't project their own feelings onto Hunter and see how relatable his situation is, then I doubt Belos would get this much vitriolic hate. (We're also in this very strange time where some younger fans seem to think that liking a villain means you support their actions.)
I think that's the element of realism that triggers people the most; compare Voldemort to Umbridge, people can like Voldemort and not get flamed for it but EVERYONE in the HP fandom hates Dolores Umbridge. While Voldemort is more of a typically fantasy villain, Umbridge feels like a person you could meet in real life. She's a bureaucrat who takes over the school and enforces her oppressive and nonsensical laws with an iron fist. Power wise, she doesn't stand out from the other wizards but she has institutional power, which makes her terrifying as a villain. It's easier to defeat the one Big Bad and save the day but it's damn near impossible to destroy the System that makes little Umbridges every day.
Again, I think that what triggers people about Belos is how he treats Hunter not the whole witch genocide thing or "colonization" because the show spends more time showing us how much Hunter suffers than the whole Boiling Isles.

hai heart !! its me again , anon :3 have you got any so called au ideas of mystery n8 nene ?? nene’s name involves the number “8” , so of course people are theorising that she’ll become the 8th mystery. if so, the mystery of what ? 🤍
Hi again :0
I'm certainly aware of how Nene's name alludes to the number 8, since other characters have numbers correlating to their seat #. A maddening detail honestly... I will admit, it's not the sort of thing I can think of as an 'AU' so much as... 'There's this thing being foreshadowed that I have to brace myself for.' I've more or less just stared at this detail and felt helpless and confused lol. What is sensei trying to tell me!? <- I'm too busy thinking this and crying...
Beyond that, I can't really think of an 8th mystery the same as I would the others, too strugglesome. I mean, if we try and imagine it like 'we tack on No. 8 with the others' it would mean that a new seat could be created that doesn't previously exist. How... do you do that... But like, we don't know how the previous mysteries were made... Were there always 7?? If not, how do you add more, who decides(or decided) that? Would a rumor have to be made to make way for this mystery Nene-? Or could she manifest before having a rumor-?? Is being appointed just a matter of someone saying so, or is there more to it? (More prerequisites?) We don't even know what Sakura does when she appoints someone, and Tsukasa seems to exist outside of the system's typical conventions so I can't base too much on what he does with Mitsuba...
Each mystery seems to have jurisdiction over some, element, aspect of the world. But these concepts are as broad as 'time', 'life/death' and 'records'... While I like the story of JSHK and analyzing it is lots of fun, I feel like I cannot really simulate Iro-sensei's thought process— not enough to conceive of what an '8th Mystery' would dictate...
So... that's me being pedantic about a bunch of things. BUT... What I can tell you, that I've thought of on my own: I don't actually think Nene will 'become a mystery' in the manner we've seen... I think being "8" actually means she's something new, errr... rule-breaking? That's the vibe I get from her... I think Nene's existence is a bit of an anomaly. There are various things about her yet to be explained.
(MY SMALL ADDENDUM TO THIS is the fact that No. 7 already seems to operate differently than 1-6, so we already don't know enough about THAT guy... arghh.)
Why is Nene a kannagi? Aoi's family history explains her position, but somehow I doubt this is the case for Nene as well? So... where is her blessed nature coming from? And it's eerie, you know... how she meets Hanako just in time to be there to commence yorishiro, as the broadcast club orchestrates rumors. Why is that? What were they going to do if Hanako never got his hands on a kannagi...? Their goals are quite exact, with little room for error, aren't they... hm.
Nene has technically, from the twins' chronological perception, been interacting with them multiple times throughout their life. So her fate has been tied to the Yugi 'since the beginning' of this story... The cherry on top is the fact that her lifespan is inextricable from the existence of the mysterys' yorishiro. For whatever reason, if you get rid of all the mysteries, Nene will die. All I can infer from this is Nene's very existence is tied to that of the mysteries, so — I don't think she will become a part of the system, as much as she is already deeply involved in it? ...?? Perhaps she is already... No. 8? In SOME manner? You feel me??
My wife's even pointed out, it's troublesome Nene is already an isolated weird girl who gets whispered about in the halls... what 'rumors' exist of her already, we don't know. I wonder how blurred this line between human/kaii/mystery can be. There's no way to know, but... something to chew over. (The recent ASHK chapter showing an ominous dream that calls to question Nene's authenticity was designed to make me insane btw.)
Last thing I will say, prolly will seem out of nowhere but, my gut tells me Nene's existence... is tied to the well god, and Tsukasa. If the god inside Tsukasa / is the same god the mysteries are deriving power from / then Nene's lifespan is directly correlated to that god's power being unleashed (as the yorishiro/mysteries are simply a means of divying out these powers, controlling things like time, life, death, wishes, etc.)
It's my delusion but I'm holding out that all this information will kiss passionately someday. And-!!!!!!!!! Then I'll explode.

🍕🍀💀 for engel because i love him sm
HE LOVES YOU TOO I PINKY PROMISE
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
This is a super easy question if we're talking everything that's edible. it's cake. he loves the kind of pastries that are covered in sprinkles and frosting and wafers and whatever the fuck else to a degree that makes food critics extremely upset and mad because you can't even tell what that's supposed to be anymore. But also there's like a billion different types of cake, and they are ALL good.
If we're talking REAL food (in peppermint's words REAL FOOD RIGHT NOW) it's a harder question because his eating habits are really odd. or unusual. He grew up eating mostly candy and STILL eats mostly candy (and other sweet things), he can't really cook, and he doesn't really like to cook because he rarely has an appetite for anything that's Not sweet. He's the kind of person who has NOTHING in the fridge except like, eggs, and who-knows-how-old preserves of stuff that CAN be used for cooking but he's not using them and will never be using them, and then there's just a whole cake in there. He gets DenDash 90% of the time when he's actually trying to put in the effort to eat something that actually IS in an octopus' natural diet, and in that case he tends to prefer things that are easy to eat, and generally considered snack food, and STILL socially acceptable to dip in chocolate sauce. So generally something like shrimp tempura. yeah, let's say shrimp tempura
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
This is a trip down the memory lane... i have no idea honestly. I have to assume he's one of those "random OCs" I made at some point, which is a thing I like doing where I just make an OC and then see if it goes anywhere. He's a pretty early OC, so it's likely a situation where I was just looking up different cephalopod species, or maybe gearsets that look fun, and making something out of that. He was originally based off the angel octopus which is where his name comes from! (it doesn't make much sense nowadays but eh.)
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
Oh does he. yeah. Engel has claustrophobia so severe that it very much dictates his life, which he also finds extremely frustrating but hard to find workarounds for. It developed for him sometime in his early adulthood, which is generally when his mental health took a nosedive as a whole, and it's severe enough to limit his life A LOT. He gets anxious being in rooms with no windows, to the point that indoor gigs are pretty much out of the question with a lot of clubs being dank cellars with no windows ANYWHERE, which would just be a death sentence for him. He gets anxiety with closed doors and closed windows; he usually tries to position himself next to windows indoors, and if that's not an option he needs to stay VERY busy to keep his brain in the right place. Trains and buses are not an option to him, which pretty much locks him out of public transit as a whole, and the only workaround he's found for not having panic attacks in a car is perpetually sticking at least half his arm out of the open window (obviously he cannot drive). And that's cars that are being driven by people he deems as safety pillars to begin with, and cars that are big enough so that he can fit in them at least a little comfortably (something that has really just gotten worse recently).
Needless to say he finds it extremely frustrating. Being locked out of like, the entirety of public transport AND the possibility of just taking a taxi AND the inability to keep calm enough in a car to ever drive one very much spirals into a situation where he can't really go anywhere. There's not a whole lot of other options other than WALK, or he has to be babysat by a friend (usually Peppermint) the whole time, because few other people can drive him places and actually stay on top of how he's feeling. Generally, as long as he can see the sky, he's doing pretty alright, but there are MANY situations in life where you DON'T see the sky.
He also feels bad because not being able to go underground or fully indoors also means that Deep Sea Dead Zone often can't do indoor gigs, which is EXTREMELY LIMITING for any band, but especially annoying for them given that there's offers! There's a lot of offers but he can't go 5 minutes indoors without the Badness coming out, and he is SO MAD about it. He spends more time than is necessary beating himself up over it despite repeatedly being assured by just about everyone that his safety comes first, and if it's something he can't do then it's something he can't do.
He's very annoyed and aware of how irrational his anxiety is, but it's something he's tried to work with, work against, find relief for, challenge........ and there's not been much improvement. He's just hoping it'll ease up over time or he'll find a way to manage it better in future, but in the present, it's got a chokehold on most of his life for much too long for his liking. The only big obstacle he's managed to conquer is the elevator, but even those need to have mirrors for the illusion of more space. He's employed the tactic of shutting off his brain for the extent of the ride and counting the chromatophores on his hands until he can get out because honestly he'd rather die than walk stairs.
thanks for the ask!

Acceptance CH 5
Pairing: Hawks x F!Y/N
Summary: You catch Hawks cheating one day after work. After leaving him, you revert to your old ways as you strive to find some semblance of normalcy and the answer to a simple question.
Angst with a capital A T-T
~~~~~~~~~~
Acceptance
The cold air stung your skin as you zipped across the city. You used to cling so tightly to Hawks when he took you on flights like this one. You just barely held on to him now. Instead of looking down at the bustling streets and their artificial lights, you opted to look up. It was a new moon and the lights below blocked out almost all of the stars, but you stared into the cloudy abyss anyway. Common sense dictated that you at least look down to see where he was taking you; you ignored it though. You knew all too well that Pro Hero Hawks was a creature of habit. So much so that you didn’t even need to watch the ground to know where he was taking you.
When you felt him slow down and dip you knew you had arrived. The minute your feet touched the worn concrete roof, you took a few tentative steps away, completely turning your back to him and cradling yourself tightly. You could hear him shuffling nervously behind you. Breaking the awkward silence, you spoke up.
“Can you hurry this up? I have work in a few hours so…” You said absentmindedly scratching your forearm.
“Right. Of course.” He fumbled nervously. That was new. “You remember that new secretary that I complained about?”
“Yeah, I remember her. Why?”
“Because she’s only part of the whole story.” Hawks said.
And so he explained everything to you. Hawks explained how Azusawa got placed in his office by the Commission. Their contrived reasoning included. How she had practically stalked him at work. How her quirk, persuasion, worked to break down a victim’s will, forcing them to treat her commands like a mindless zombie. That when you found them, he wasn’t all there. How when you walked in, she deactivated it so he would look the part of a typical cheater when he scrambled to explain himself. How he spent the last 7 months trying everything in his power to get in contact with you without you cutting him off entirely. How he cried himself to sleep when he realized you probably wouldn’t want him anymore after what she had done to him. How your last interaction haunted his dreams every night you too were apart.
The longer you listened to what he had to say, the worse you began to feel. You weren't even caught off guard by how quickly you accepted his words for truth. It was just so…bizarre. They could have just told him to stay away from you or something! It would have been so much easier for them to sit you both down and pry you apart in an office than to have someone go undercover and do all this. It was nothing like them at all. This wasn’t practical. This was one hundred percent malicious. Someone, somewhere in the Hero Public Safety Commission wanted Hawks to suffer. Why? You couldn’t guess, but they were getting away with it. You were so busy stewing in your newly found anger, that you neglected to notice Hawks was waiting for you to reply.
Your gaze shifted from the ground once you turned around to face him. So many emotions flashed across his face at lightning speed. Fear, concern, confusion, and finally hope. Hawks hesitated a bit before taking an unsure step towards you. Instinctively you jerked back, but backtracked immediately after and threw yourself on the man. As soon as you got your arms fully around him you squeezed like your life depended on it.
After a few beats of stiff silence, you felt Hawks’ body shake, all the emotions he was keeping in check while talking came rushing out in waves. He wrapped his arms around you, oh so slowly, returning your bear hug with a death grip. If you flexed even a little right now your jacket might rip you thought. You both sank to the floor, still firmly locked to each other. Hawks buried his head deeper into the crook of your neck while you rubbed comforting circles into his back. He was the first to speak.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice cracking just a touch.
“What for? If anyone should be apologizing, it’s me.”
“But-”
“But nothing. You got assaulted. Stop apologizing for any of this. I’m sorry.” He sniffled a little before you continued.
“I was so quick to abandon you without any explanation. I may or may not have been a little insecure about us but even that’s no excuse for how things went. I left you when you needed me the most and ignored all your attempts to reach out.” You pulled back and gently cradled his face with a free hand. “I’m so, so, sorry you had to deal with all of this alone. I know this barely scratches the surface but I hope that even if you never forgive me for this, I can still help you find some closure.” You wiped a stray tear from his streaked cheek. The silence that followed your words was deafening, but you held firm, waiting for his response. The man in front of you fixated his sight into the very depths of your soul and spoke in a shaky breath.
“Do you still love me?” You paused for a second at that. You did. You really and truly did love this man. But you thought it would lighten the mood to make him work for that little tidbit of info.
“Do I?” You countered, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. You were teasing him, and as always, he was quick to catch on.
“I think you do.” Hawks replied playfully, albeit his voice still shaking a little.
“Are you sure about that?”
“Please…” He begged, his voice only above a whisper
“Yes, I do still love you.” You sighed, resting your forehead on his.
“Good. That was all I needed to hear.” He breathed a sigh of relief at that, and for the first time in months, you saw him smile. It was soft and delicate, like morning rays peeking out from dark clouds. Gods, you loved this man so much it hurt. You had no idea how you had convinced yourself you could get over him. The two of you sat there for who knows how long simply holding each other, neither ready to let go.
“So…where do we go from here?” Hawks asked bluntly, eyes scanning yours for any kind of answer.
“As in…?”
“As in, can we go back to the way things were? Y’know, before all of this?” He gestured vaguely to the air while his other hand still clung to you.
“I don’t really think so.”
His eyes blew wide at your deadpan. He looked so hurt at your words. You quickly realized your mistake and scrambled to find your words.
“I mean that in the sense that we can’t just ignore all the stuff that happened. There is a huge amount of therapy that needs to be had before I think we can call it “back to normal”!” You exclaimed, frazzled. Your bird man giggled at your reaction. Damn, he was adorable.
“Well, we have our work cut out for us then.” He said smugly, nudging your head with his as he smirked.
“You are impossible.” You scoffed.
“But you love it.” He said, smile growing wider by the minute.
“You're such a dork.”
“Your dork.”
“Always.” Letting out a breathy sigh as you settled your face into his shoulder.
Breathe in, breathe out
For the first time in almost a year, things felt like they were going to be alright.
Custom Toonami Block Week 175 Rundown
The Witch from Mercury: So IMMEDIATELY after Sul’s duel with Gaston everyone goes ‘wait aren’t the suits that suck the life out of you banned because our war chief is a bloodthirsty dictator?’ and she immediately gets arrested and kicked out of school. Meanwhile Mio’s been told that she’s no longer forced to marry the school’s top pilot and her father is cutting out the middleman and just arranging a marriage for her which she’s like what 16 even for a high business monarchy style thing it seems a little early to lock that down that hard. Also just kinda wondering what the point of even playing at the ‘oh it’s whoever the best is’ if you’re just gonna immediately cut the façade whenever it’s someone you don’t want like why not just force a marriage from the start. Anyway Mio’s like ‘bitch I wanted to marry the gay girl how dare you take back your orders and give me new ones’ like she doesn’t like being told what to do but explicitly seemed a lot more chill about it when it was Sul. Gaston gets beaten by his father for losing and we allude to him being slightly less shitty than we were initially led to believe since he did send some people to clean up Mio’s garden. The bigwigs are all having a NERV-style meeting of shadowy figures and our resident obligatory Masked Gundam Character Prospera is like ‘yeah it looks and functions exactly like a Gundam but it didn’t suck her soul out so it can’t be one, right?’ and no one’s fucking buying that and also it’s a bunch of old men high on their own power so they’re just like ‘well you’re under arrest for building something that functions exactly like the thing we banned then’. Meanwhile Mio shows up, redicrecting her escape attempt to Earth to save Sul and telling her father off and basically having a badass teenage tantrum in a shareholder’s meeting, like it’s kinda cool how blatantly petty and personal her grievances are that it takes some balls to bring it up the way she does surrounded by the most important people in the world that just sentenced a masked lady to jail for technically not breaking the law. She challenges her dad to fight the Aerial and reinstate her engagement to Sul which he has absolutely no obligation to accept given idk if Corporations should really work on Klingon rules anyway and if you’re gonna take shit from him say if you win you get the whole company, go big or go home. But the group discusses that the illegal suit is pretty dope and they wanna get some more data out of it so they agree to let Sul fight to save her Gundam and her lesbian fiancée so that’s good.
Inuyasha The Final Act: Inuyasha and co. are still soaking in Kikyo’s death and Koga gets an admittedly nice sendoff where he gets to leave on good terms with Kagome as well as get enough out of a rise out of Inuyasha to snap him out of his post-Kikyo coma and get him to resolve to make Koga’s sacrifice worthwhile. I like how Koga intentionally says the most triggering shit just to piss him off at this point like he’s really become self-aware as a character and knows what his role is. Also as another character that embodies the ‘the power to achieve your dreams is inside you’ moral of the story he started out seeking the jewel to obtain the power to unite the wolf demon tribes and ends up so strong that losing his jewel shards is basically just a minor inconvenience and ends up in a relationship that does in fact unite the fractured parts of the tribes. Meanwhile Sesshomaru is talking to his mom about trying to master Meidou Zangetsuha and ends up getting Kohaku and Rin dragged into the underworld during the training. I feel like Sesshomaru’s mom is such wasted potential like she has so little screentime and is basically a plot device they could’ve done so much more with. Once she reveals that Rin can’t be revived again by the Tenseiga Sesshomaru’s grief and compassion evolves both the healing and the meidou side of Tenseiga so he can purify a hundred souls as it was originally stated and create a much larger Meidou Zangetsuha, though Rin still has to be brought back with Mommymaru’s necklace of convenience. It’s really funny that Jaken takes it upon himself to be Sesshomaru’s emotion translator at this point since he knows he’s stoic enough not to cry when Rin dies despite wanting to and also won’t  thank his mom for saving her despite being thankful. Last but not least she tells Kohaku he also can’t be saved by Tenseiga in case people were starting to think that now that he and Sesshomaru are together, apparently you only get one free get out of death free card regardless of the source so yeah. Inuyasha’s group make it their new mission to hunt down and protect Kohaku so they can figure out what to do now that Naraku has 99.9% of the jewel.
Castlevania: So I’mma be honest, this is where the Internal Vampire politics get kinda frustrating, like I’ve had it in the back of my head that all this infighting may just be a way to ruin Dracula’s otherwise impregnable plan and have a heroic victory while both evil sides are fighting each other and I’m still worried about that considering we’ve spent more time with them than with Trevor this season but in this episode we even find out that all the shit Carmilla wants to do Dracula would’ve just let her do anyway like he doesn’t give a shit, she wants to usurp his armies and the one move that she’s been gunning for since she walked in the door they’re just like ‘sure go nuts’ and the planning of the past like three episodes has basically been for that. I’m getting ahead of myself, Trevor’s group stuff first since we actually make some progress on that this episode. Basically Alucard gives Sypha the reverse speech that Trevor gave her last time about how he’s a dick and they can’t really trust him and like 75% of this show at this point is untrustworthy vampires telling people they can’t trust people. Sypha wisely asserts they’re both morons and they’ve gotta suck it up and get to world-saving or else everyone’s fucked. But yeah back on Carmilla’s weird warpath they don’t know Godbrand’s dead and Isaac is called by Hector to get him to sign off on going to Braila and get in on the Carmilla cult. Isaac is not down for Carmilla but he is for the Braila plan since it means everyone can shut up about it and Carmilla can stop whining so the politics of it don’t functionally matter, like it’s been such a long fight for this and it doesn’t functionally matter because they just do it anyway. Granted Isaac does it because it means their traitors are all in one place with a name and a face and Hector does it because everyone that talks to Carmilla is like ‘Carmilla is always going on about how she doesn’t trust or respect anyone but I’M DIFFERENT, I’M THE SPECIAL ONE’ like Godbrand was a fucking moron so that was fine but geez she’s not even being seductive enough for them to be thinking with their dicks they’re just idiots, she’s not even good at the manipulation considering if she’d just asked Dracula to do it he’s so done at this point he prolly would’ve. She doesn’t even bother to pretend this was Hector’s independent idea and follows him into the room coaching him and shit. Like the only functional thing this does is make Carmilla the Commander in Chief for this fight for… some reason, and like it’s not even a good argument because the two sides are ‘do something’ and ‘do nothing’ and Carmilla has the balls to be all ‘haha now you’re in too deep Hector so I don’t have to pretend to like you anymore’ like BITCH AS LEAST WAIT TILL YOU ACTUALLY HAVE THE REINS like holy shit all you did was convince Dracula to do something he wasn’t all that adverse to doing in the first place you’re not exactly Sosuke Aizen and she has this weird girl power bent to some of her speeches and I’d really rather girls just do the badass girl power thing instead of talking about how girly and empowered they are all the time. Long story short I don’t really like Carmilla and this plot had a really weird end to this section of the season for basically taking up half the runtime. Meanwhile, actual girl power girl Sypha found a way to trap Castlevania in one place as long as she can jerry-rig an ending to the spell that’s like 80% done but she doesn’t have a lot of time because the castle just showed up like… five minutes ago.
Jujutsu Kaisen: It’s Mahito versus Nobara time and apparently Mahito’s clone can’t transfigure souls and can only do the Clayface body warping shit and Nobara actually figures this out and uses the clone’s body as a substitute Straw Doll like she did with the other guy’s arm cause semantically the clone is basically Mahito’s arm and she wrecks him up from long distance, saving Yuji from an ambush in the process and giving him the opportunity to beat the shit out of Mahito while he’s stunlocked. Rather than keep going through that shit, Mahito employs the Joestar Family’s Secret Technique and books it the fuck out of there. The two Mahitos actually meet up and switch, the real one attacking Nobara while Yuji beats the other one’s head in. Mahito gives Nobara’s face a quick tap and isn’t sure if he killed her, like this whole exchange is excruciatingly vague about whether she’s dead or not but we jump straight into her backstory which isn’t a good sign. It’s basically a fleshed-out version of the story she told in the beginning of the series. I feel like this happens a lot where characters in long-running series have simple backstories at the beginning and then have a secondary supplemental flashback to beef up the tragedy or reframe the original flashback, half the cast of One Piece has done this at this point but for Nobara it’s an interesting retelling of her story through the eyes of her friends and giving a ‘this is your life’ type deal about who she’s loved and why she’s done what she’s done that gives a lot better of an idea of who she is than her original introduction. But yeah her eye fucking explodes which is weirdly not how we’ve seen Mahito’s powers work anywhere else but it was just a light tap while he was in a hurry and maybe her energy resisted it or something. Given that and the vagueness where even Mahito’s not sure if it was enough to kill her I’m tempted to say she’s not dead because usually you don’t want to be ambiguous about that shit unless you’re gearing up for a big return but as far as I know the manga’s already fighting Sukuna at this point and she’s yet to make a comeback so who fucking knows.
Delicious in Dungeon: After Laios’s sword gets busted he tells the story of how he got it fighting a bunch of living armor in the dungeon and how he fucked up and died the first time, confirming that death does indeed have no consequences which explains Marcille’s dialogue in the first episode and why no one seems too worried about rushing to get Falin. Still I’d say if death has no consequences in your series that’s something you’d want to establish right away because that is kind of an investment breaker, something like how DBZ put limits on the dragon balls at first and made loopholes harder so death isn’t just meaningless like it is in the Buu Saga. Still I kinda like this episode since it’s mainly focused on one thing and the food stuff doesn’t get in the way of the storytelling too much. They manage to sneak past the living armor colony and Laios fights Ornstein and it turns out it’s a bunch of mollusks living in the layers of the armor and doing weird goopy Alphonse Elric shit. They cook them and Laios gets Ornstein’s sword but it has a mollusk living inside it still so he’s basically got a living weapon which is pretty neat.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: Frieren confronts Aura and surprisingl the Autistic Elf Power Hour has its second encounter with Living Armor this week, what’re the odds? Aura basically has the Millenium Scales except instead of summoning a demon to eat a Musuem Curator she weighs their power level and just instantly controls anyone weaker than her with the caveat that if someone stronger than her shows up she just automatically gets controlled instead. I’m kinda sad this means Aura doesn’t actually have a demon army like this was just a plot by four guys and not a whole organized force but I guess it’s fine. She uses an anti-spell spell to dispel the control instead of blasting nameless husks into the ground and desecrating their corpses because Himmel yelled at her last time for disrespecting the dead. Aura asks her why she cares what a corpse thinks and oh it is ON now. Meanwhile Fern and Stark are preparing for Stark to book it out of dodge and try and get Frieren back to fight the other two demons when they get caught in an ambush by Blood Sephiroth and the little girl. Turns out the little girl’s powers are Unlimited Blade Works/Sharingan shenanigans where she can create a weapon and mimic a fighting style by watching it enough and she’s just so happened to have copied Eisen’s style during the first war and decks Stark with his own moves but better. Meanwhile it seems Fern’s ability is Quick Draw and she can just fire off spells crazy rapid and puts the push on Blood Sephiroth in a really cool fight that creates literal fireworks. Stark takes Eisen’s words of “Just don’t die, stupid” to heart and does that thing from Samurai Champloo where if you leave yourself wide open enough it leaves the enemy wide open for their counterattack and destroys the little girl so yay, two down two to go.
Vinland Saga: War has reached Ketil’s farm and he’s got about 300 farners with pitchforks versus Canute’s 100 Jommvikings and Royal Theigns so yeah it’s basically the coughing baby versus the hydrogen bomb. Luckily Thorfinn’s met up with Leif and Leif’s a fucking chad and agrees to take on all of Thorfinn’s extra baggage he’s gathered over the past season and transport Arnheid out of there while the fighting’s going on. Snake tells his men that Ketil is a fraud and was never a war hero because he knew the guy his name was actually based on and came to him for help but at the same time he feels indebted to the family that’s taken care of him all this time and it’s really funny to watch his speech about how Ketil’s a fraud and not worth dying over right as he goes out to die for him fires his men up more than anything, like actions really do speak louder than words. Ketil’s kinda bought into his own hype at this point and isn’t listening to the dozens of people telling him he’s going into a meatgrinder and yeah it’s a fucking massacre, I imagined Thorfinn would be more upset watching this or trying to actively broker peace talks but I guess he’s got other shit on his plate right now since Arnheid’s on death’s door and got her ghost husband’s permission to go say her last goodbyes. Meanwhile Thorgil’s just gonna pop out of the ocean buck naked with a sword and try and cut Canute’s head off behind enemy lines so that’s… a plan I guess. I have no clue how he intends to get out of there even if he succeeds but okay, you do your naked regicide.
Despite Porsche choosing to take his chance of freedom from Kinn, I’m going to make a not-so unexpected guess that when he does return to being a bodyguard starting in the next episode, he’s going to finally take it very seriously, and he will become one of the best bodyguards, if not the best (up until bodyguard-leader Chan, that is).
Because now, he understands a more deeper and personal side of Kinn that he never thought so entirely about before. Now, the two of them have laid out on the table their genuine care for one another. It’s very mutual. Porsche has gone from seeing Kinn as this arrogant, cold, dictator of a boss to a man who has had to hide his true self in order to take the load of his family burden that he never wanted. Kinn has shown deep remorse through apologizing and asking for forgiveness. He has shared his childhood dreams and current thoughts about his position within his family. He’s done a complete 180 degrees from the “your life is mine” to “go be free with your brother and live your dream because I want you to be happy, even if it’s not with me.”
Now, Porsche has a personal connection with Kinn, one that’s beyond bodyguard and boss. It’s beyond the initial physical attraction for one another in previous episodes, as well as their interest in each other’s personalities and characters. Porsche was willing to chop off his hand for Kinn. Porsche came back at the sound of gunfire, throwing away his chance of freedom to protect Kinn, even though he didn’t have to. He was already freed. Kinn took a bullet for Porsche. He didn’t even hesitate.
Now, once Porsche returns with Kinn (we’ll see how the complexities play out in regard to how Porsche did *try* to leave but is now stuck still doing something he never wanted to do) it will be with this new dynamic of care and understanding. Porsche will want to genuinely protect Kinn, and he’s going to do a damn good job at it. There will be no more fooling around when it comes to serious appearances, meetings, and other business. It’s life or death, and especially after Kinn being shot in place of Porsche, Porsche now knows this. Think about his attitude in episode 2, especially with Macau and the second family. I don’t see him returning to that state of mind ever again. He’ll protect Kinn. He’ll protect him with his life.
Something I’ve not seen pointed out yet, (and it’s honestly disappointing that it hasn’t imo but whatever) is how twices death truly impacts togas ideals with blood and death. Seeing as this will ultimately dictate toga getting some sort of redemption arc or not.
Let me start with what exactly togas ideals are pre twices death. As we see the manga since her debut in the forest training arc, we are given her ideals from the very beginning. Toga views blood and death as something positive or neutral, throughout the ENTIRE series. She kills the people she loves to become them, and the only reason she didn’t kill uraraka or tsu when she met them was bc she had a nice handy dandy tool to get their blood easily. Again, same with camie. This all stems from the fact that toga has never had a positive experience with love. Or at least, that’s the case until twice. This might be a controversial opinion, but toga only gives and receives truly authentic love from one person in the entire series, and that’s twice. Not dabi, or shigaraki, or spinner. Other than twice, the league has ultimately acted like a business that would grant them all the things they wanted. Revenge for dabi, destruction for shigaraki, to be seen for spinner, and to live freely for toga. Twice wanted a place where he belonged. He was a traumatized man that needed help, and only the league would ever give him that.
Toga never ever got someone who truly cared about her until twice. She never tried to hurt him and vice versa. Bc he was her most positive experience with love she has ever had. And when hawks killed twice, taking away the first person who ever truly gave her that authentic love she so desperately wanted and needed, only to be taken away by a hero both solidified her beliefs of heroes never helping her when she needed it, and took away the only hope for herself that she ever had.
But that’s bad, right? It takes away her belief in heroes and a possible system that would accept her. With the evidence I’ve presented often comes a conclusion that people have in both the anime and outside of it. That toga is a lost cause. She’ll go to tarterous at the end of the manga after ochako trying to help her, that she is a sad tragedy of a woman. She will live angrily and bitter for the rest of her life, or insane and happy. But I think those people are missing the big picture. Something that even TOGA HAS TRIED TO SAY AND WAS NOT LISTENED TO. Because if uraraka represents hope then she must represent tragedy right? WRONG. So so SO WRONG. Toga is one of the characters I have the MOST hope in trying to help defeat afo. That she will help the heroes, help OCHAKO. Sad woman’s parade will hurt like hell, but it will be a step closer to her getting the acceptance she needs. The freedom. Without hurting people or herself.
Because twices death directly contradicts her belief that death is either neutral or good. Something that can be used as a tool to escape a sticky situation. Bc that’s togas belief up until now. Death is easy and not very important. Big sis mag started this train, twice only pushed it farther.
Because if death affected her, then she can learn to sympathize with the pain she has caused. She can learn to smile after her grief, she just needs someone to reach out a hand to help.
Tumblr media
Toga is both in denial and correct in her belief that she is not a tragedy. The reporter lady that could make bombs out of anything comments on this, but toga is vehemently opposed to the idea. How could she be sad or tragic if she has people she loves and a found family? But, of course, she is still tragic in that sense. She was rejected over and over again for being herself which led to insecurity, violence, and her own depression.
But at the same god damn time, she is not a lost cause. Not like how people want to think she is. She has someone who can learn to truly love and appreciate her (I honestly think it has a solid chance of becoming romantic but honestly they’d be amazing chaotic best friend duo lol, though, both of those ideas are a lil fanon, but I can hope) learn who she is, what she likes. As uraraka says it, she truly doesn’t know anything about toga himiko.
Some of this is speculation, some of it is not. I have hope for himiko toga, as a character and where her arc is going. It is intertwined with urarakas, so hopefully that means some sort of relationship between the two (romantically or platonically) bc I’ll take it no matter what it turns out to be.
Here are some pictures of me looking normal. And tired. And joyful. And derpy. Point is… we’re all just people. Let’s love each other about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t know if you can tell that I am trans. These days I worry less about passing and more about how to defend myself against attackers who feel like they have a reason to pick a fight. Yes, this has happened in real life to myself and to others. I’m done trying to fit into boxes, even if it’s meant to help me survive. People will know, or they won’t, regardless of my efforts. People will try to hurt me, or they won’t, regardless of my attempts to hide myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So instead, I’m preparing for the inevitable. The it’s-already-happened, just-get-out-alive moments that are coming my way. Because I am trans, I am non-binary, I am agender, I am aromantic, I am asexual, I am a gay boy, and anything else you could possibly call me. I am all these things, and I will flaunt it. Because, no matter what I do on the day-to-day, it seems that, during my lifetime anyway, there will always be people who want me wiped off the face of the earth and who feel it is their responsibility to aid their higher power in achieving that purpose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transness is beautiful. All queerness is beautiful. I am beautiful. And handsome. And ugly. And derpy. And joyful, and sad, and sexy, and sweet, and bloated, and titless, and muscular, and tired, and cuddly-but-also-don't-touch-me, and sometimes I have hives for no reason, and I am always changing my hairstyle, and I can't decide if I actually want to wear dresses or if I just think they're pretty on other people. But most of all, I am Not. For. You. I am for me.
If you truly feel I am leading you to sin, then go live in your church. I promise I will never go there. Still struggling? Then pluck out your eyes, cut off your arms, open your home, give up your possessions, and give all your money to the poor. Follow that book you seem to want to use to dictate everyone's life but your own.
Your sins are not my responsibility. I am holy. I am sacred. Your perversion of me is your own demon to do battle with.
I exist for me, I allow myself to be myself because I can. I allow myself to be, because I want to. Until I allowed myself to transition, I did not want to be. I wanted to end.
But here I am, years later, happy to finally be where I’m supposed to… in my body, living my life, caring for my family, my plants, my pets, rubbing cream on my eczema, eating good food, admiring the sun from a safe distance, helping my community, hearing my name cross friendly lips, whistling in the dark, and singing to the moon from the tops of the rockies, writing my books and poems!
Here I am, minding my own business, spreading love and kindness wherever I can.
Notice how none of that involves you. You know who you are, and, despite your assertions, I am not upset that you exist. I do not care that you exist. I only care that you want me dead. Stop trying to eradicate me and my way of life, and you will no longer be part of my business. Leave me be, and I won't mind you. You won't have to deal with me once you stop trying to "deal" with me.
Just let me be.
Just let us be.
And if you keep trying to wipe out our "way of life"lifestyle," you will fail. No amount of laws and restrictions and prayers and blame and deaths can stop queer people from existing. We'll keep being born, because this is just how we are. Queerness is inherent, and your rejection of it forces it to have a culture of its own, outside of yours. Attempts to legislate us out of existence or pray us into submission will inevitably fail. There will always be queer babies. There will always be an underground so long as you force us there.
So...
See me — or don’t. Close your eyes when I walk by, if you must. That doesn’t mean I don’t still exist. I always have. I always will. Please, just leave me be.
how so did they butcher it? i haven’t read the manga
in the manga he is a medical student who couldn't care less about human emotions. he pities his patients and puts on this good man mask in front of them only to throw away their wills (that they entrusted him with) without even showing their relatives.
he's becoming a doctor because his father was one. Chishiya thinks that maybe sharing professions with him could lead to them having a real father-son relationship. talking about his childhood, he says that he only ever knew saw his father's back, never his face, because he was too busy studying medicine bent over his desk.
Chishiya hopes that saving lives as a doctor could make him more sympathetic and could led to him finally understanding life. his view on humans doesn't really change and he is left with a dislike for others and himself.
during his first game in the Borderlands (which is not shown in the tv series) it is said that he has "no concept of human life". he is willing to risk others to win and progress in the games. he openly cheats just to see if he can get away with it knowing full well that being caught means death.
he's not particularly attached to his own life, he thinks he exists purely to show "how empty a human can be". his victories are dictated by his intelligence, sure, but he wants to go on in the Borderlands to see what happens next. to show others the kind of genius he is and to find other interesting people to play with and win against.
for him, games are just games.
he's selfish, he's willing to throw his companion's lives under the bus (like he did before the ten of hearts game in the first season) and he isn't interested in anyone's survival but his own.
the fact that Arisu and Karube played the Oni vs Humans game to search for a doctor and Chishiya didn't help them says that much. he could have helped people in so many occasions and he didn't.
during the King of Diamonds game he mocks Kuzuryu. telling the attorney his choice (100) is his way to challenge him, to understand how little his own life is worth and what the man would give away to repent for his old life's sin. Kuzuryu in fact doesn't save him in the manga, he presses both 1 and 0 and lets fate decide who lives and who dies.
Chishiya, on the other hand, would never "go with his gut" like they show in the series. he's extremely calculating and I was confused by that scene in the Netflix adaption. considering he was never part of the Jack of Hearts game in the original story, watching him alone and without a plan for himself made me think they wanted to make him more human and empathetic, whish he is not in the manga.
I think he's the least relatable in terms of humanity and motivations, head to head with Niragi, but Netflix decided to make him fully a fan favourite and "fix" this part of his character.
knowing that Chishiya is basically emotionless, depressed and over all an asshole that doesn't really care about anyone and actively tries to make their lives worse, him jumping in front Usagi to save her and him telling Arisu he's jealous of how naive people live life, is much more significant. he's trying to understand others in his own way.
he spent his life thinking everyone was under him, convinced that he was the only smart being in the world, only to understand the meaning of his existence in the Borderlands.
even when he talks to Niragi in the hospital and tells him he "was an asshole too" makes more sense knowing his real backstory.
he's never been a morally good character and up until the end he didn't have the capacity to change. he's just hoping to be less of a dick.
I really hope this explains even a little how Chishiya's character was built in the manga.
if you see any mistakes I'm sorry, english isn't my first language.
have a good day💖💖💖
What's your honest opinion on the Diamonds (and Rose as well). I know a lot of folks demonize them and hated they're redemption. Personally, I loved the concept that people can be fundamentally changed for those they love. But curious about your own take?
I'll preface this by saying I really love the Diamonds and their incredibly messy family history and relationships, as well as just their existence in general - which I think is pretty obvious from the way I've written about them, both in-universe and in various asks.
I think any problems I personally have with them are due to two very significant factors: the fact that their family drama and resolution really clashes with everything we've previously known about them as cosmic tyrants, and the unfortunate shortening of their arc making their redemption (which is a bit too generous a word for their character development, at least until Future rolls around) feel pretty rushed.
I definitely agree with you that the show's thesis of change through love and understanding is amazing, and generally, super well realized! And I obviously love the general lore of Homeworld and Gems as a whole, as evidenced by my responses to many asks on here. But I think it's hard to argue that there isn't a bit of a disconnect between the two - we are presented with these larger than life figures who can and have snapped their fingers and condemned their subjects to death, who want Earth and humanity eradicated, to whom the notions of personal agency and freedom are alien, borderline unthinkable, and then the show asks us to consider not just an alliance, but forgiveness of what, to us, would be crimes of the highest order. That's what's difficult to parse, at least on a surface level.
Then again, Darth Vader exists.
If you really think about it, his crimes are as bad, if not worse, than the Diamonds'. Mass murder before he even got stuck in the suit, treason of the highest order, the heartless slaughter of defenseless children, becoming the executioner for an interstellar tyrant, killing his own men on numerous occasions, hunting down survivors from the very purge he led, exterminating so many rebels for the crime of wanting to restore peace and democracy to a ruined galaxy, and (though he didn't give the order) presiding over the genocide of the Alderaanian people with nary a word spared but to criticize the method employed. And yet, when he tosses his master to his doom, saving his son's life by sacrificing his own, we feel for him. We celebrate his change of heart, despite the atrocities he's committed. We mourn his loss along with Luke, an unequivocally good person who (by our measures, at least) should have no business feeling anything but scorn for a monster like Vader.
I think it's, to be honest, rather silly to apply our real world standards to fictional characters one-to-one. Obviously, we can't just ignore them either, and I'm not advocating for that, but the fact remains that Steven Universe isn't trying to portray what should realistically happen if a teenager managed to talk down their intergalactic family of dictators, causing them to rethink their way of doing things practically overnight. They're trying to tell, through the lens of fantasy and science fiction, the tale of a broken family finding a way to stitch itself back together, and I think it succeeds at that, like Star Wars succeeded at telling the story of a monster finding their way back to the light through love and self sacrifice, and like many other stories have managed to tell other such stories of "unrealistic" redemption.
josephine time! when did she start her work as a teacher? what grades did she teach? did she teach samantha + demi + mason to read too, or just baby? how did she feel about sam's addiction, especially in relation to her husband? how did she handle the news of her cancer?
anon u are carrying me through this life like that one christian meme about jesus and one set of footprints.....josephine started teaching as soon as she got her degree!! it was her passion and also the most "suitable" job for a young woman to have, at least according to her family. she initially taught third grade before marrying sam henry and moving to the haines area, where she began teaching second grade and sometimes third grade depending on class sizes. she absolutely taught all three of her children how to read and would deploy all of her strategies to make sure they were truly literate, from sounding out words to putting flashcards around the house labeling each item. josephine also taught them all to read and speak some yupik to make sure they remained connected to their heritage. when samantha started using opioids, josephine honestly didn't know what to do, primarily because there had been nothing To Do about her husband's addictions. sam henry never listened to her and was violent with her and the children, so approaching him about the alcohol and coke was basically asking for further harm. josephine could only try to support the family while he was alive and she tried to do the same with samantha's addiction. it hurt her deeply to see her oldest daughter suffering and made her feel helpless, but josephine never stopped loving samantha. that was all she knew how to do. and initially, josephine saw her breast cancer as more of a bother than anything since it meant missing days or weeks of work and feeling fatigued most of the time where before she enjoyed being busy. it wasn't until the cancer continued to relapse and then metastasize, forcing her to retire, that josephine realized her life was going to be dictated now by the disease. again, she hated feeling so fatigued and not being able to provide directly for her family, which was why she focused so much on educating and raising baby: it was her New way of contributing. even as she became sicker, josephine never stopped trying to support her family. however, samantha's death had a huge impact on her mood and health, and josephine died soon after her, but she loved her family until the very end
Attuma x Okoye: Loving You pt 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter Seventeen
Taavi woke early in the morning. He looked over to his brother. He had come in the night before, seemly upset over something. Whatever it was he wasn’t sharing. He knew not to press Attuma on anything. He heard the tossing and turning most of the night. So, when he woke and saw him sleeping soundly, he didn’t want to wake him. He took his shower, quietly left the room, and went to get some breakfast.
He was sitting in the little restaurant and enjoying the food, thinking of ways they could solve this case; so, they could return home. His eyes caught a glimpse of a woman, rushing through the lobby, in army fatigues. She hailed down a taxi after a few failed attempts. It was Okoye. He wondered where she was going. He watched as they drove away, and something drifted to the back of his head. There was something peculiar about this taxi. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but definitely different from the others.
He threw it back into this mind, and continue to enjoy his meal. He watched Azhni and Ozhni exiting a taxi, and hurried through the lobby. He got the feeling something was up, so he finished his breakfast; and headed up to his room, to find out what information they had.
Taavi entered the room, rubbing his stomach. He looked over to the two sitting at the table, then to his brother out on the balcony. He sensed something knew had occurred.
“What’s going on fellows?” He asked and came to stand next to the table, and stared at his brother.
“We just gave your brother some bit of news. I think he’s trying to figure out how to handle it.” Ozhni answered.
Taavi started for the balcony, when the phone rung. He turned back to answer it. Attuma cocked his ears, thinking maybe Okoye saw him out on the balcony, and wanted to talk about last night. He wasn’t in the mood.
“No, this is his brother. Hold for a moment. Attuma!!” Taavi yelled to him on the balcony. Attuma slowly walked back into the room, and took the phone from his brother.
“Yeah?” He said, to the person. Ozhni and Azhni looked at Taavi with questioning eyes. Taavi never noticed; he was busy trying to hear the conversation.
“Okay Inspector, I’ll see if she’s there; and we’ll be there in a few.” Attuma finished the phone call, and returned the receiver back to the cradle. The three men waited impatiently. Attuma was deep in thought. His eyes resting on the phone.
“Attuma? What was that all about?” Taavi initiating the inquiries. Attuma looked at him puzzled.
“The Inspector wants to see me about something that happened last night. He said he talked to Okoye about thirty minutes ago. She was supposed to be there by now. He said she doesn’t answer her phone either. I’m going to go see what is holding her up.” Attuma looked at the three men, with a concerned expression.
“She’s not there, Attuma. She left sometime ago. I watched her take a taxi.” Taavi informed him. Attuma’s eyes widen.
“I wonder where did she go? She wouldn’t miss an important meeting like this.” Attuma became concerned. Taavi looked at the others. His brother’s feelings for this woman was deeper than he thought.
“I don’t think so either Attuma. She seemed like she was in an hurry when I saw her.” Taavi confirmed his fears.
“Okay, all of you, I need your help to find her. So, I’m going to tell you guys everything that has happened since we have been here.” Attuma knew he couldn’t handled all of this alone. He sat on the bed, and prayed nothing has happened to the woman he loved.
Chapter Eighteen
M'Tami went into the bathroom to clean her face, and regain her composure. Her love for her brother’s wife, has dictated all she had done. She hated him, and loved him too. But her love for Okoye has overtaken her. She was the light in her dull life. When her brother disappeared. She felt Okoye and her finally had a chance. But not so. She continued to love him anyway. Even after death.
But her brother wasn’t her worry. It was someone else. That big biker thug. He had taken her Okoye’s love. She couldn’t let that happened. Some way some how, she was going to deal with him. As she did her brother. The phone ringing brought her out of her thoughts.
“YES!” She yelled into the phone, irritated she had been disturbed.
“What?” She slowly sat down on the bed, listening to the person on the other end.
“NO, NO,NO!” She went hysterical, yanking the phone out of the socket, and throwing it across the room. She stomped around the room, pulling at her hair. Suddenly, a knock at her door distracted her. She rushed over to it.
“What do you want?” She yelled, swinging the door opened. It was Khanje, the family lawyer.
“I heard the noise over hear, and thought maybe you needed some assistance.” He said, straining his neck to see past her into the room. She turned away from him, and walked over to a chair, and sat in it.
“This is all wrong Khanje!” She said sadly. He cocked his head to one side, closing the door behind him.
“What do you mean?” He asked, more confused by the moment.
“You were suppose to accompany us, and keep us safe.” M'Tami looked up at him like a child.
“You are safe. What is it, M'Tami?” He came to kneel in front of her. He had seen this side of her many times. Especially, when she loses control of the situation.
“Yes, I’m safe; but Okoye isn’t!” She stared passed him. His eyes grew larger than eggs.
“What do you mean, Okoye isn’t safe?” He asked, and went to call her room: but saw the phone had been ripped from the wall. He used his cell phone, and frantically dialed her room.
When he got no answered, he panicked. This will cost him his job for sure. He looked to M'Tami. She had drifted within herself. He knew it was no way he would get anything out of her now. He thought of one other person, who should know, Attuma.
“It was the funniest thing about this taxi. It had a different coloring than the others.” Taavi informed Attuma.
“Do you think you could recognize it again? Attuma asked. Taavi nodded.
“Why don’t you go and stake it out? See if it makes its way back here.” Attuma asked of his brother. Taavi laid his hand on his brother’s shoulder, giving him assurance. He wanted him to know, they will find her.
“I’m going to do some more research. Ozhni, you come with me, I need some of your abilities.” Azhni turned to his friend. They nodded to Attuma, and left him to himself.
He went to get ready to go see the inspector. He will have to know of her disappearance. Maybe the police have information they could use. Attuma was going to take a shower, when a constant pounding came at his door. He moved swiftly, thinking it may be Okoye. His hopes were dimmed.
“Why are you going crazy on my door? Unless the police have notified you?” Attuma stared at Khanje, standing in his door way out of breath. M'Tami stood next to him out of tune with the world.
“No, they didn’t. M'Tami told me, Okoye wasn’t safe; and blanked out on me.” Khanje replied, taking M'Tami to a chair, and assisting her in it. Attuma’s eyebrows raised, as he stared at the once annoying woman, but just a shadow of herself.
“What’s her problem? And how did she know?” Attuma continued to stare at her expressionless face.
“She gets like that when she loses control of things she has started, Mr. Attuma. I have the feeling she knows what has happened to Okoye. But there is no way we will be able to get through to her now. Not for a while, and I’m afraid; by that time, may just be too late.” He said, this with great sadness. Attuma stared for a moment, allowing what he said to sink in. Then when he realized what Khanje had spoken, he drove his fist into the wall.
I am more stable. I am taking it day by day but I have noticed the trend. I know what was wrong with me now and I am being gentle with myself instead of trying to beat myself into being better. When I need something I should ask for it instead of twisting myself up and putting all my anxiety on other people. I should take breaks when I need to not just when I'm at rock bottom. I should take what I need now and not worry about the future as much. I need help and need to depend on other people sometimes. I'm not as sturdy or as adjusted as the face I try and put on and I have to meet myself where I'm at now not where I'm going to be some day. I am a hard worker but I shouldn't live my life like it is only problems I have to surmount. I shouldn't carry everything on my shoulders and when I have a problem I should count on people and let them help me. I shouldn't work myself to death even if I want a good income and stable future. It is ok to disappoint people sometimes especially when I've done what I could to help. It's ok to have boundaries and it's ok to take time for myself. I am getting therapy and applying for new apartments. I am saving to get a car soon. I am slowly but surely doing what I can to get back in business and stay on top of things. It is normal and human to fail sometimes and I'm not disqualified from being one when I do. People will never get to know me if I put it on myself to never fail and always say yes and hide my disabilities. It does not make me more loveable to perform constantly. Some days suck and are intense as hell but not every day is sometimes it is a matter of being patient and waiting out the pain instead of struggling to kill it , which can make things worse. It's ok that things change and it's a good thing that life goes on and an experience for new things. I don't have to live my life dictated by the way other people treated me or the way they told me to world operates. Other people do not have the answers for me. Not all advice is good. I can figure it out.
Being a slave owner himself, Willy Wonka is not against slave labor. However, He recognizes that most people are very against it, but He has good news: there are ethical, slave-free brands of chocolate!
If you can, try to purchase from these brands.
Of course, if you are not for animal products in your foods either for moral or allergy reasons, there are brands that accommodate for your dietary restrictions.
The only company Willy Wonka would be strictly against is Nestle, for their business connected to deaths of infants, false advertisement, overharvesting water, and openly supporting dictators. They even own kibble brands and pay animal nutritionists to push their brand(s), when kibble is known for causing serious health complications!
For a while, they have used the real life Wonka brand, which could make our god look like He advocates for these things, when again, slavery is the only thing He is not against.
More information: https://utopia.org/guide/5-of-nestles-worst-controversies-explained/
What companies are owned by Nestle: https://wyomingllcattorney.com/Blog/Everything-Owned-by-Nestle
To consume any of these brands is an abomination! May He forgive you for each time you have disgraced Willy Wonka.
Finally, there are real cults! While Wonkaism is more about having fun and a laugh, there are real cults out there looking to cause real damage on people. There will be some resources to help you and a loved one if you ever end up in a real cult. Please do stay safe out there, and practice general internet and real world safety.
Reblog to share His good word, and so other people can be in the know on how to better avoid companies like Nestle, and have chocolate that goes along with their morals.
(Disclaimer: I myself am against slavery, I am just the messenger, and going off the books in the Wonka not being anti-slavery part)
