How would the aot boys react if they heard a rumor that reader has a crush on them

i heard a rumor….

eren jaeger is so nosey when he hears the rumor going around. he’s intrigued by your crush on him and he wants to know every little detail, of course by everyone else and not you. he gathers everyone’s opinion and saves you for last. he doesn’t beat around the bush; he tells you he knows that you’re crushing hardcore on him. he’s playful and witty, trying to get you all flustered.

armin arlert, bless his heart, tries to be cool about it. and he does a fairly good job you think. he often finds ways to get you two alone but he never makes a bold move. he asks if he can help you do things, tries to find common interests, etc. you know he knows because you find him trying to spend too much time with you, not that you’re complaining. he just lets things take their course.

jean kirsteins plays the disinterested, too-cool-for-you character. he’s damn good at it too. his actions and short replies hurt your ego and your heart. so, you give him the same treatment back. this, he’s not a fan of. he demands that you tell him why you’re treating him like this and you respond that you’re just dishing out what he is. that makes him go ‘oh’ and it results in a very around the bush way of telling you he has some sort of feelings for you but he was trying to repress it.

connie springer grins from ear to ear for days end when he hears the news. he was already crushing on you big time and now that you like him back, he’s convinced your soulmate. shamelessly, connie asks (it’s more of a statement) that you go on a date. you cant believe he knows. you want to just disappear when he confronts you but he doesn’t understand why. “am i coming on too strong? hold on, i can get weak in the knees real quick.”

levi ackerman acts like he doesn’t know about your feelings for him. his behavior isn’t much different than when he didn’t know- his eye’s just tend to linger on you a bit longer. his gaze makes you feel…violated. it’s like he’s looking right through you or undressing you with his eyes. hard to tell. he continues driving you crazy in various subtle ways until you can’t take it anymore and wind up confessing at him in a ‘why are you doing this to me’ moment. he just laughs.

reiner braun's interest is piqued, that's for sure. he's not so smooth about it, always turning into a flustered mess when he's around you. you, now beginning to panic he knows your secret, turn into a shorter flustered mess. your awkwardness makes all your friends laugh and they just tease you more, which causes more stuttering and the cycle repeats. eren's the one who finally sets you up, not able to bare any more of reiner's incoherence.

bertholdt hoover makes the brave decision of telling you how he feels. he doesn't pick the greatest time. he tells you in front of all your friends and that leaves you feeling a little pressured. so, you get up and drag him away from everyone. the two of you share a raw confessional in peace and quiet. it leaves your heart full.

zeke jaeger texts you as soon as eren tells him. he doesn't wait for any more clarification. the text reads, heard you're basically in love with me. I'll pick you up later: a man of his word, he comes and picks you up. you try to him he's ridiculous but he knows you're his future wife.

erwin smith does his best to avoid you. a crush is meaningless to him.but fuck, the way you look at him makes his heart stop. he's beginning to think that there's something wrong with him- he can't breathe when you're around him. one night, he has too much wine to drink and accidentally lets it slip that he knows. he decides he doesn't care anymore and kisses you on the forehead, leaving you confused about the way he feels about you.

porco galliard's too fucking cocky. he starts spreading the rumor himself once he gets wind of it. he tells everyone he knows, bragging about it over and over. the rumor makes it's way back to you and you want to cry. so, that's what you do. you know everyone knows, so he must know. porco catches you crying and is upset with himself for spreading it. he didn't know you'd be so embarassed, considering he ‘obviously feels the same way’

Little things I don't know what to do with

1. Phantom: Just because you're my dad doesn't mean you get to tell me what to do!

Nightwing: *just now learning he has a clone son and is nearly hysterical* Actually, it does!

Killer croc: *still holding Phantom by the neck but is now awkward about it* Uh, is this a bad time?

2. Tim goes undercover as Alvin Draper in infiltrate this new and very successful gang thats popped up in Gotham only to start falling for the mysterious leader Danny Nightingale aka a mage going by the name Hex

3. Future 7ft tall Phantom bursts into present day Gotham City like a meteor. Curled into a ball, he desperately tries to keep his unconscious husband safe from the flames and impacts as they are thrown through several buildings before creating a crater in one of the local parks

By some miracle his hubby is safe and Danny passes out once he sees some of the local bats approaching via rooftops

4. Danny flirts with Spoiler by bringing her wierd stuff thats purple. What makes it interesting is that none of this stuff should be purple

5. Danny accidentally ends up in the DC universe via ghost zone portal after he gets injured by one of his parents failed experimental weapons and it destabilizes him. He fights Superman thinking he's possessed and hes actually creaming Superman pretty bad since Clark can't hit what isn't tangible but oh boy, it can hit him.

Anyway the other supers come out to save Superman and began ganging up on Phantom.

Danny, fully convinced they're all possessed, opens a portal and manages to get them all in using Looney Toons Trickery promising to come back and "free the hosts" once he gets a more stable portal. Danny can't go through it since he's so unstable and has to look for some way to fix himself before it becomes a (after)life-threatening issue.

Turns out Ectoplasm is somehow worse for a Kryptonian than Kryptonite and they have no powers what so ever within the Ghost Zone and everything aches.

Oh.

And they're basically living out every creepypasta/horror movie ever in this creepy hell dimension.

Fun times.

I might accidentally do an over protective one but I'll try to low it a tad. Anyway this is an interesting one to work on!

A protective boy.

He's from the start is a protective boyfriend, since of all the demon.

Mainly from The twin demon(I forgot their name). Both of them would definitely kidnap you on some occasions to force Mk to trade you with his staff or just be on their side.

He'll become wary of this and straight up told you to not get into any fight he's in, even at that time of LBD he's pushing you just to stay back and hide away.

He cafe fore you, he'll protect you. He know demons are after his power, Especially both DBK and LBD.

Now onto fluff.

He'll always hold your hand whenever in public, it's to also avoid you getting lost away from him making him panic and think of the worst or you just ended up being kidnapped by the twin.

He'll hide you away from Macaque mainly because he doesn't like him that much until season 3 finally.

I don't have much to say about MK mainly because I couldn't really see him being over the top when it comes to protecting you, he's just be there and save you whenever a demon tried to take advantages of you.

Red son

Oh boy, the over protective one in my spectrum.

He's overprotective because he doesn't want you be stolen by other people nor demon, only he deserves your beauty.

It public he'll often wrap an arm around your waist. He'll let go.. that is if you plead for him to.

He's over the top of protectiveness. He'll give you a weapon to defend yourself believe me.

Yep definitely has one of the bull clone watching you from afar. Just to make sure you're okay nothing else.

Bro the type to yelled at a knife when his s/o accidentally cut themselves with it.

When LBD attacked the family he'll definitely teleport you out first before helping his family.

You stared blankly at the balcony door, mind whirring with possibilities as to what your fate could be. Your mind flashed back to every time one of the guys’ eyes lingered on you too long, or every moment of heated tension you had with them. You weighed your options. Option 1.) jump off the balcony and plunge to your indisputable death. That seemed very reasonable. Option 2.) stay on the balcony forever. Didn’t seem likely. Option 3.) be a big girl and get into the house. What you’d do once you get inside is yet to be decided. Baby steps.

You spent far too much time merely stressing out and pondering over your options. Ultimately you took in a deep breath and hesitantly (reluctantly) go for Option 3. You tried to reassure yourself that it wouldn’t be nearly as bad and nerve wracking as your anxious mind is making it out to be. What could possibly happen?

You kept those words in mind as you closed the door as quietly as you could behind you. You snuck past the living room as best you could, still too scared to face the possibilities head on with confrontation. Jimin was no where to be found, as were a few of the other guys.

You almost allowed yourself to take a breath of relief, believing yourself to be in the clear, when you felt a surprising weight on your shoulders. Your eyes flashed to the inked arm, the identity immediately revealed. Your gripped onto the arm slung around you, face whipping around to face Jungkook. Your heart is leaping out of your chest, the gears in your mind spinning, when Jungkook smiles. It disarms you. Despite his bad boy appearance and sexual charm, that bunny-like grin just seemed so innocent. He couldn’t possibly be one of the ones who knows.

“Hey Y/N, been looking everywhere for ya!” He tugs you along, bicep curling closer to your neck, his muscles bulging slightly. You let yourself be dragged away, your eyes locked in on his arm as you thought about how nice it’d be to sink your teeth in. “How ya feelin’?”

“Oh?” You’re pooled out of your thoughts, trying to keep up as your feet stumble beneath you, Jungkook’s eyes rather distracting.

“Y’know, with the brownies you ate?”

“Oh, I-I’m fineeee,” you drawled out the words, squeezing his arm assuringly. “Don’t worry about me, Kookie.”

“Really?” His smile suddenly looked more like a snarl, and before you know it you’re pulled into a room down the hallway. It’s a laundry room, the washer and dryer both already on and filled with laundry. Before you could question your scenery change, Jungkook’s let you go and closed the door behind him. “You seem a little needy to me.”

“W-What do you mean?” You couldn’t help but flush as you stammer out the words, as though you were clearly guilty.

Jungkook’s smirk looked practically sinister, and you feel the color drain from your face as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. “Is this blog not yours, Y/N?”

“N-No,” you blurted out, denying it outright despite how clearly he could see through you.

“No?” He snickered at that, pulling up the blog, letting it stare you in the face. You tried to move away, but his arm juts out behind you, trapping you against the linen closet. You jump as you feel the wood against your back, Jungkook’s bright screen glaring at you with malice. “But it’s got your name right in the bio. And it was airdropped from your phone.”

“What a coincidence,” you murmured, biting your lip as you blatantly lie.

Jungkook’s scowl only deepened, and his hand gripped your jaw, forcing you to look up at him in the eye. “I wouldn’t recommend lying to me, little girl.” You shuddered at that, hands wrapping around his wrist, nails slightly digging in as you whimpered in his hold. “You’re going to tell me the truth now, aren’t you?” Your head is roughly jerked up and down in his hold. He chuckled at that. “Good girl. Now, is this your dirty little blog, Y/N?”

You closed your eyes, not wanting to look up at him in embarrassment. “Yes.”

“Look at me,” Jungkook sneered, hand slightly tapping against your face in punishment. Your eyes shot up to his once again at his command. “Act like a big girl, why don’t you?”

“Yes, it’s mine,” you admitted, lip trembling between your teeth.

A little bit of an angst-comfort idea, but I want to see how the scarecrows would deal with their s/o accidentally being exposed to fear toxin. To top it all off, the toxins strong enough to cloud the readers vision so that they don’t see Jonathan but instead their worst fear, practically cowering from him. While the scarecrows do love them some fear, I would imagine they wouldn’t like to see their s/o in such a state (or maybe some of them would to an extent?)

If it’s no biggie, could you end it off with how the boys would try to make it up to their s/o after the fact?

A/N: ooooohhhhhh yeeesssssss this is the kind of angst I absolutely live for! Poor scare babies although I have no doubt some would be into it!

The Scarecrows React to Reader Being Exposed To Fear Toxin

Arkhamverse Scarecrow:

- Whether it's a great enemy or a great lover. This Scarecrow desires to know what terrifies you.

- However, he would like your consent at all times.

- Unfortunately, your first encounter was without either his knowledge or your consent.

- Jonathan felt some guilt, but it was overpowered by the sound of your gasps and cries.

- He walked over to you, in an instinct maneuver to comfort you.

- Yet you shied away in a corner. Screaming, digging your face in your hands.

- It's almost like he can feel the erratic beating of your heart in his ears. You cry out for his name–to save you and make it stop.

- And he will…he does but he takes his time.

- He makes it up to you with a string of apologies, and suggestions to keep you from stumbling upon him during future experiments.

- He spends practically a whole week with you, reading to you, holding you.

- It's the least he can do for the exhilarating results you provided.

Nolanverse/Murphy Scarecrow:

- He longs to see you afraid, to see the terror in your eyes.

- The idea absolutely thrills him to his core.

- To know you in such a vulnerable state and what makes your skin crawl.

- The moment will happen sooner rather than later when you walk in on him testing a new toxin.

- He tried to push you away, to get you out of the vicinity, but it was too late.

- As you quivered and fell to your knees in cold terror.

- You screamed for him to help you, explain what's happening.

- Jonathan couldn't deny your sounds of fright were like music to his ears.

- The way your pretty eyes were blown out.

- Your voice shrieked his name and your heart was no doubt pounding and pounding.

- Much like during…another activity.

- He makes mental notes of what you say you see; what you fear.

- He's not entirely cruel, he doesn't make the illusion last any longer than needed.

- Jonathan will be with you for the rest of the day.

- You have his undivided attention. He will cuddle you, rest with you, and prepare meals.

Batman the Animated Series Scarecrow:

- As curious as he is, he would never have you under his toxin.

- Not without your consent, and without laying down some ground rules.

- He may be curious and almost dying to know such a deep emotional part of you…

- But his love for you is stronger than that.

- When it happens accidentally, its his worst nightmare has come to life.

- Hearing you cry out for him while simultaneously pushing yourself away.

- You wanted him to protect you…but from himself.

- Jonathan regrets ever being curious, he absolutely despises seeing you like this.

- He’s quick to give you the antidote.

- Even through all the shoves and kicks to try to keep him away from you.

- When you come too, he's instantly more affectionate than usual.

- Jon holds you and comforts you and isn't going to leave your side anytime soon.

- Until what you experienced is just a distant memory.

The New Batman Adventures Scarecrow:

- Jonathan is somewhat torn.

- He cares for you deeply and the last thing he'd want is to harm you in any way…physically or mentally.

- However, he can't deny he'd be intrigued to know your fears and your instincts when facing it.

- When the moment comes, unexpectedly he's frozen.

- He realizes one of his own fears in fruition to your own fear.

- He doesn't like to see you frightened, your screams make his ears ring in concern.

- Jonathan unfortunately doesn't have an immediate antidote for this certain batch.

- It's nearly impossible to work as he hears you scream for him to save you.

- When he eventually finds the cure or the images subside he's by your side in an instant.

- Jonathan is mute, unsure what to say to comfort you.

- He is at your beck and call for the next few days.

- Ensuring your mental state and to make up for the absolute hell he accidentally put you through.

Fear State Scarecrow:

- This Scarecrow believes that everyone should face their fears and traumas in order to evolve.

- The same would be for his significant other.

- However, unlike his experiment where he plans to push the city of Gotham through its Fear State.

- The trial to get you through your Fear State is far more…personal…intimate if you will.

- It takes some convincing (and most definitely manipulation) to get you to concede.

- He's doing it because he cares about you. He knows your potential to be an even stronger, more fearless version of yourself.

- Don't you want that? You trust him right?

- You do, so you go through with it.

- And it's absolute hell.

- Even Jonathan has to admit, he's not a fan of your screams.

- Especially when you cry out for him.

- When you finally surpass it, Jonathan promises to never put you through it again.

Year One Scarecrow:

- Jonathan has spent his adult years learning, testing, modifying, and mastering fear to torture and subdue those that have done it to him.

- Its a tool of horror, pain, and torment. One he prays you will never have to experience.

- Surely if he can wield fear he can constrain it…

- Unfortunately, that's not the case.

Jonahan never thought he’d know terror like the abuse he endured by his dear late great granny.

- But your howls and tears were just as, if not more, horrific.

- Jon tries to not panic as he scurries quickly.

- It hurts him when you defensively push him and try to run away.

- He knows you can’t help it, you don’t see him.

- Just the concept of being your nightmare, breaks his heart.

- Once the effects wear off, Jon is quick to comfort you in any way he can.

- He whispers a mantra of apologies, hoping that you can find it in your heart to forgive him.

Masters of Fear Scarecrow:

- Much like Year One, Jon uses fear as a weapon against his adversaries.

- You are the only glimmering light in his dark, lonely life.

- He wouldn't dare make you endure the effects of his fear toxin.

- Regardless, accidents are bound to happen.

- Jonathan is panicking.

- Very few things can drop the Master of Fear to his knees; you being in danger was one of them.

- Even when he subdues the effects and you’re no longer screaming for your fears to go away.

- He’s almost certain he’s lost you. That you would leave him.

- Why would you be with someone that can bring forth your worst fears? And even accidentally, have you endure them.

- Jonathan is beyond shocked when you forgive him.

- As if he didn’t already treat you like a precious jewel.

- He’ll be even more protective of you.

- When you ask him to go to bed with you, or to join you, he’ll go with no hesitation.

- Anything to keep you happy, and to make you forget his horrible mistake.

Harley Quinn The Animated Series Scarecrow:

- Absolutely not. It's a hard no for Jonny.

- He doesn't even care if you seem curious.

- Regardless, he got to find out your fears when you accidentally opened the door to his lab.

- He's practically panicking. Probably the most erratic of the Scarecrows.

- In his panic he is likely to short circuit and seize up.

- It isn’t until you shout out for his name he’d snap out of it.

- When he finally manages to administer the antidote, he’s beyond relieved.

- He practically clings to you, shushing your cries, assuring you that you’re okay.

- No matter how much you tell him it’s not his fault. He still feels miserable about it.

- Expect him to be very clingy for a while. Clutching you tighter, making your favorite comfort foods, never not being by your side.

Happy Halloween Scooby-Doo Scarecrow:

- Echoing earlier Scarecrows, he has his curiosity. But he doesn't press you if you're uncomfortable.

- He wants the absolute best for you, always.

- Jonathan has been experimenting and further progressing his toxins for years.

- So sure there would be no accidental exposure.

- Jon is wracked with concern and anger when you scream bloody murder one night.

- He doesn’t take the time to figure out how you got exposed.

- Though it does very little, more out of comfort for him almost than for you. He tries to comfort you through your fears.

- He tells you they aren’t real, they’re visions. He’s so sorry. He has no idea how this could have happened, etc, etc.

- His words fall on deaf ears as you keep crying his name for help.

- When he finally gives you the antidote or the effects finally surpass, he is still in a panic.

- Jonathan isn’t an overly affectionate man. He has his moments, but they’re few, far, and in between.

- Yet, on this night, he isn’t hesitant at all. Kissing your head and cheeks, rubbing your arms and back in warmth and comfort.

- Never again, never again will this happen. You have his word.

The sign at the local ren faire looks tempting. After all, Steve is one year out of high school and has no idea where his life is going. Sometimes he wishes someone could just gaze into the future and figure it out for him.

And if he doesn’t turn on his heel and leave, it has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty Eddie Munson looks in his costume, all gleaming jewelry and dark tendrils of hair spilling out from under a patterned headscarf. He lets Eddie read his palm, because why the hell not? It’s all bogus anyway!

Except, as the summer goes on, Steve finds that Eddie’s cryptic predictions somehow, inexplicably keep coming true. As they keep running into each other, almost as if orchestrated by an invisible force, Steve can’t help but be intrigued with the other boy. He also can’t seem to forget how pretty Eddie’s eyes look in black liner, or the way his fingers feel on his skin, but that is an entirely different problem.

sorry sorry, I'm spamming but I had this idea ages ago for a Luke Patterson x reader where the reader is an artist that does cover art for sunset curve promo.

Hear me out on this one; Luke tries to teach the reader how to play guitar and the reader tries to teach Luke how to draw. It doesn't end well, the reader is embarrassed that they can not play an instrument to save their life and Luke is embarrassed that he can't draw something as simple as a dog. But it's that thing where Luke finds it cute that the reader can't play even though they're trying hard and the reader finds it cute that Luke can't draw even though they are trying hard. And it just ends up all cute and mushy and ilysm I'm gonna marry you someday vibes.

You are absolutely hopeless. It was one thing to sign up for this sort of job– artist by hour, some sort of after school nonsense that you were fitting in around your courseload so you could try and make at least a little bit of money– but it’s something entirely different to get involved in it like this.

Looking back, there was no reason for you to ever start feeling this way. When Sunset Curve first reached out to you over the opportunity to do the official art for their demo album, you were thrilled. They already had a decent sized following despite just having started, and you’d never created anything half so important as this. That’s how it felt, at least, like you were on the cusp of something new, something brighter than you’d ever experienced before. If only you knew how right you truly were.

It wasn’t just the job that was special, though, it was the people. Sunset Curve is made up of the four funniest, kindest, most amazing boys to ever walk the earth. You’re definitely not biased in that regard, not in the slightest. Reggie Peters cares more than anyone you’ve met before. Alex Mercer looks out for you every single minute of every single day. Bobby Shaw recognizes the potential in everyone who crosses his path.

And Luke? Luke Patterson, who greeted you with the widest smile you’ve ever seen the second he met you? Luke, who really should just be a friend? You couldn’t pin him down to one specific phrase if you tried. Luke is everything– creative, bold, bright, you name it. More importantly, he’s everything to you, but that’s because you happen to harbor a crush on him.

You couldn’t shake the aforementioned crush if you tried, but oh, how you wish you could. It does not do to spend every afternoon over there in Sunset Curve’s studio, pretending you’re sketching new designs for them or doing your homework when in reality you’re just wishing Luke might finally look up from his guitar and finally notice you as something other than a background character to his stellar world.

It’s not like Luke’s an asshole about it, it’s just true. Luke Patterson is so out of your league it’s crazy. Why would he ever look at you as something other than a friend or glorified coworker? Reggie and Alex have teased him enough times about flirting with anything that breathes that you know better than to overthink so much as a smile from him. Just because you happen to think the world of Luke doesn’t mean that he has to do the same thing about you.

That doesn’t stop you from almost losing your mind every time you hang out with the boy, though. In fact, you’re alone with Luke right now, and even though it’s pretty obvious Luke doesn’t take this to be anything other than a chance to spend time with a friend, you’re one accidental brush of hands away from screaming.

You had headed over to the boys’ studio early so you could think about some new designs for their albums, both the demo one and potential future numbers. You were given a key to the place a long time ago; the members of Sunset Curve accepted you with open arms and open doors back when you first started drawing for the band.

Apparently they like having someone else there to force them to actually be productive and make music, but you’re not too sure about that. You swear that you end up talking to the boys for even longer than they manage to distract themselves, although that’s more fun than anything in your book.

So, although you didn’t expect anyone to have issues with you showing up to the studio unannounced, you also weren’t expecting Luke to be there alone. You stand there for a moment, hovering over the threshold, wondering if you should leave or take this as your chance to finally get closer to him.

Luke sees you and spares you from the indecision. “Come on in, Y/N. I’m not doing a whole lot, just practicing.”

You smile at him and step inside. “Technically, if you’re practicing that’s something. I just don’t want to bother you if you’re in a songwriting mood.”

Luke makes a face. “I would love to be in a songwriting mood, but the lyrics just don’t want to come. Please tell me you’re here as a distraction.”

You laugh. “I can be an excellent distraction when I wish, but I’m not all that interesting today. Just trying to get some ideas for a potential album cover.”

Luke watches you excitedly as you reach inside your bag for your sketchbook and some drawing supplies. “Are you kidding? That’s super interesting to me. Tell me, what direction is your grand artistic vision pulling you in now?”

You swat him lightly with your sketchbook. “There’s nothing grand about it, trust me. I’m here because I’m just as stuck as you are. Are you sure your next album can’t just have a completely blank design? Maybe one solid square of color? It would make it a lot easier on me.”

“Absolutely not,” Luke declares, “you’re already robbing us of our hard-earned cash, we at least deserve some designs in the bargain.”

The easy grin on his face tells you that he doesn’t mean a word of it. Luke and the other members of Sunset Curve have made it quite clear that they value your presence, both in art and in friendship. Besides, you have discounts when it comes to people you care about, and the members of this band are certainly that indeed.

“Well,” you smile, “if that’s the case, I’d better get on it.”

Luke watches as you do some thumbnail sketches for potential designs. His eyes never seem to leave your pencil as you shade in piano keys or trace the outline of a guitar.

At last, he breaks his meditative silence to pose a question. “How are you doing that?” He asks plaintively, “Every time I try to draw something, it takes me forever and ends up being a big eraser smudge. When you do it, though, you take two seconds and have a masterpiece.”

“I’ve been doing this for a lot longer than you have,” you remind him, “practice makes perfect, trust me on that. My first so-called masterpieces were just as full of eraser marks as yours.”

Luke harrumphs. “You’re just saying that. Embrace the fact that you’re extremely cool.”

“You’re just as cool as I am,” you counter, “you may be in awe of my art skills, but I think your music is way more impressive.”

Luke’s jaw drops. “No way. Half the time you’re in here, I’m messing up my chords.”

You grin. “That’s not true, and even if it was, that still makes you better than I am. I can’t even remember what a chord is, let alone how to play it right even half the time.”

Luke sits up straight, an idea occurring to him. “You know what? We can fix that. Let’s have a skills session. You teach me art and I’ll teach you music.”

“Just like that?” You ask, doubtful but smiling nonetheless.

“Just like that,” Luke confirms, and after that it’s decided.

Luke reaches over to grab his guitar. He places it on your lap, moving close to you so he can help guide your hands into position. You think your breathing might stop entirely from how it feels to have Luke’s breath hot on your cheek, his fingers wrapped around yours as he teaches you a chord. If you look up slightly, you can see how his face, no, his entire being is angled towards you. It is the most marvelous sight you have ever experienced.

Despite the beauty of the boy teaching you, your own mastery is far less substantial than you’d like. You can feel the shame of it heating up your cheeks as Luke reminds you of what you’re supposed to be learning for the umpteenth time. Watching Sunset Curve practice, you’d always wondered why you never picked up an instrument. This is reminding you of that reason: you’re absolutely awful at it.

Eventually, your desire to seem at least somewhat capable in front of Luke wins out over your need to be so close to him and you carefully put the guitar in his lap.

“I think that’s enough for now,” you whisper, glancing away, “at this point, teaching me music is a lost cause.”

Luke shakes his head. “Hey, don’t feel too discouraged. It took me forever to learn. You wouldn’t believe how awful my fingerpicking was when I first started. You’re blowing my first attempts out of the water by a long shot, trust me.”

You laugh. “Somehow I find that hard to believe.”

Luke’s eyes are wide and earnest. “No, it’s true. Besides, I see this as an absolute win. If you can’t play the guitar, it means you need me around more often.”

Smiling, you ask: “And is that a good thing?”

“Most certainly,” Luke breathes, and you think you might die just there, watching him look at you like you were worth so much more than you ever thought.

Luke comes to reality first, and looks away quickly, a faint pink blossoming over his cheeks. “If we’re trying to learn how bad we are at each other’s habits, though, I think it’s my turn to fail. It’s time for art lessons.”

You flip to a fresh page in your sketchbook and pass it over. Luke holds the thing reverently, and only through severe coaching do you manage to convince him to actually grip it tight enough to keep the paper steady. He keeps claiming that he doesn’t want to hurt such precious contents, but you think it might also just be a ploy to keep you laughing even just a little longer.

As much as you hate to admit it, Luke’s fears about not being able to pick up drawing might be true. You swear you give him easy subjects to start off, and despite an abundance of furrowed brows and studious expressions, Luke and art do not mix.

At last, he looks up at you desolately and holds up graphite stained hands for you to witness. “See? It’s a losing battle, I swear.”

You bite back a smile. “It’s just like you told me about guitar, isn’t it? All you need is practice.”

You think you wouldn’t mind being there for a few more art practice sessions, either. Something about the way Luke is so devoted to trying to get this right, and all the while watching you draw out examples like you’re a living saint, makes your chest feel so tight that it might burst. You would gladly sink the rest of your afternoons and sunsets into these sorts of moments, walled up in the studio with Luke, losing track of time until you have no idea where your days begin and his end.

Luke must be feeling the same way, because he leans a little closer to you. “I’m not sure I believe it, but I wouldn’t mind more practice sessions with you. We wouldn’t even have to draw or play guitar if you didn’t want to. If you’re alright with that, of course. We could just, you know, hang out.”

The hope in his eyes is only matched by the delight in yours. “I think that sounds great,” you say.

Luke’s face brightens. “Really? I mean, yeah, it would be fun. Maybe we could go get ice cream soon.”

“Tell me a date, I’ll make time,” you reply. You’ll clear your entire schedule if that’s what it takes. This is something that you didn’t see happening in your wildest dreams, and now that it’s real, you don’t plan on giving it up for anything.

Luke lifts a shoulder. “How about Saturday afternoon? We can go anywhere.”

You could gladly spend the rest of the day just talking over the prospect of this date with Luke, but a sound from outside the studio makes you bite your tongue. You can see Alex, Reggie, and Bobby approaching the door– it must be time for the band to have practice.

Luke groans. “They have terrible timing.”

You laugh. “They didn’t know anything was happening, that’s their fault. I know everything I want, though.”

You don’t think Luke’s smiles have ever been brighter than the one he shoots you now. For once, you realize a most welcome truth: all this time that you’ve been pining over Luke, he’s been feeling the exact same way. At last, the two of you have been able to get together, and you couldn’t be happier about it.

Round 2, Match 59: Fukuzawa Yukichi vs. Optimus Prime

Fukuzawa Yukichi: The entire detective agency (in order of acquisition— Ranpo, Yosano, Kunikida, Dazai, the Tanizaki siblings, Kenji, Atsushi, Kyoka)

Optimus Prime: Bumblebee, then depending on continuity, Cliffjumper, Smokescreen, Arcee, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, the Aerialbots, Sari Sumdac, Jack Darby, Miko Nakadai, Raf Esquivel, and possibly others

Propaganda under the cut!

Fukuzawa Yukichi:

1. “At about 32 he used to be an bodyguard for hire who only works alone then he met this 14 year old (Ranpo) who had no parents and was kicked out of the police academy. He ended up feeding him (I think Ranpo was homeless at this point not 100% sure tho. He is also a genius estimated iq as high as 200) and said he would help him free of charge (bodyguard) if he called. He ended up getting called and investigated something with him. Ranpo saw the world very plainly and cried to Fukuzawa about how scary it is. Fukuzawa helped Ranpo realize that not everyone is pretending not to know things they literally don't know what he does (big issue with Ranpo partly what he was crying about too i think. They have an entire episode (i think it's the first one in the 4th season) devoted to their backstory together which is black, white, and gray when it's from Ranpo's perspective until Fukuzawa helps him realize this and it turns colored. Fukuzawa ends up deciding he wants to create a detective agency (working with others!) with Ranpo not yet tho we still have one more kid first. Later when Fukuzawa's doing a bodyguard job he along with Ranpo end up rescuing a girl (Yosano!) from the man he was guarding (future mafia boss currently a doctor). Yosano ends up becoming a doctor for the detective agency when it's created. After it's created he ends up taking in another 14 year old (Kenji).

He also loves cats and has shoujo anime-esque cherry blossom flashbacks with his old childhood friend who asked him if he wanted to go to fight in war with him, Fukuzawa denied his request. They also have a like 15 min soft-lighting conversation while watching their memories of their childhood together in the latest ep.”

2. “This man literally created a whole detective agency for this one really smart boy (Ranpo) and taught him that he wasn't the one in the wrong but everyone else when he couldn't understand people. Then, he saves Yosano from the trauma this other guy was inflicting on her and brings her to the Agency. The Agency basically becomes the place where all his kids are. His special ability lets those in the Agency control their abilities so Atsushi and Kyouka don't have to be afraid of their out of control abilities anymore. He cares so much for all of them and during the Cannibalism arc when his life is literally on the line, they do everything in their power to save him.”

3. “My guy just CANNOT stop adopting kids. He went from lone wolf assassin to Dad of Many. His first (adopted) child, Ranpo, basically forced him to adopt him (he was like “I’m a teenager with no family or home. You GOTTA adopt me. Because I say so.”) From there he kept accidentally adopting every orphan he came across. Honestly the detective agency is more like a glorified orphanage except they let their kids carry guns.”

4. “A former Goverment assassin who stopped once he realized he was starting to enjoy killing people, Fukuzawa is looking for a job when he bumps into Ranpo, a genius capable of figuring out any mystery, who can’t understand how the world works. Taking Ranpo under his wing Fukuzawa tries a white lie that Ranpo has a special ability and manages to let Ranpo interact with the world without fear for the first time in years since he can know understand the problem wasn’t everyone acting like they couldn’t figure out things but that no one was as smart as him. They found the Armed Detective Agency specifically to use Ranpo’s abilities to help people and to have jobs.

He then saves Yosano from Mori, his ex something who after using her special ability to heal any injury as long as the person is about to die during the War, wanted to use it take control of their local mafia. Instead Fukuzawa and Ranpo rescue her and let her recover from her trauma and come into herself.

He then goes on to provide a place for Kunikida to fulfill his ideals, Dazai a place to do good after his own past in the mafia, Kenji a place to help people, Tanizaki and Naomi (siblings that don’t seem to have any guardians) work to support them, and Atsushi a place to work on his own trauma by protecting people. Fukuzawa later let’s Kyouka, another defection from the mafia, stay and work at the agency so she can help people and not have to kill them anymore. The entire Armed Detective Agency live in dorms that Fukuzawa provided. He also is very protective, putting everything on the line to help members of the Agency escape any danger he knows of. Like when Atsushi is kidnapped he bribes Ranpo to find him and sends Kunikida to rescue him. He sees any danger to the agency and its members as something for him to stop.”

Optimus Prime:

⚠️EARTHSPARK SPOILERS REGARDING ✈️STARSCREAM ✈️ UNDER THE CUT⚠️

This fan theory post regards episode 21 of Transformers: Earth Spark, What Dwells Within, which revolves around our favourite flight frame Decepticon, Starscream, and the evidence that I believe that it shows of Starscream's complicated relationship with Megatron, possibly more excitingly his relationship with Skywarp (which points hopefully towards a future introduction of Thundercracker,) and other seekers in general as Novastorm is in it too. There's also implications of the fanon concept of seeker/flight frame sky hunger.

⚠️Spoiler alert: we finally get to spend some time with Starscream in this episode as it opens with him, Skywarp, Novastorm, Soundwave and Swindle attempting to escape from GHOST's Decepticon prison. Swindle and Soundwave being groundframes, they aren't able to keep up with the speedy seekers and end up being left behind as the trio of seekers make their escape. During this escape we learn a key rule of Skywarp's teleportation talent (spark sigma) in Earthspark: she can't teleport through solid objects.

Unfortunately for our erstwhile seekers, the Terrans are at the same time trying to reach their cave water and Novastorm, who is especially eager to escape, causing sonic booms, accidentally sets off a cave in, during which the bottom of the water cave collapses right on top of her and a chiding Skywarp.

That's when our boy Starscream shows up and at very long last the Terrans meet him (he immediately schemes to take them hostage in order to secure his and his seekers' escape from GHOST.)

Aw damn, Starscream you handsome devil. (Again: why do you have blue optics though? I mean, I'm okay with it, but it's still weird as frag.)

In this scene Starscream also shows that he doesn't have any issue whatsoever with being right in his fellow seekers' personal space as he grabs Novastorm's wing to pull it out of his way so that he can see the Terrans better (and scheme at them.) (This gesture feels a lot like the fanon notion of seekers being a rather snuggly group.) In a later episode he is not okay with Twitch affectionately hugging him in thanks and shrugs her off.

The Terrans appropriately run, accidentally straight into the lair of the Dweller, a hideous space monster that brings to mind a sparkeater of IDW lore, except it drinks Cybertronian's energon like an oversized vampire bat instead of nomming on sparks. (And it is significantly less cute than a vampire bat.) The Dweller initially tries to eat Thrash but spits him out as it discovers that nope, energon doesn't run in Terran fuel lines, so it goes for the energon-rich seekers instead, rushing straight at them.

This is where Starscream has a choice; he's standing between Novastorm and Skywarp in a narrow passageway - so who does he try to push to safety? Skywarp.

I really think that this can read as an implication of the beloved fanon concept of trinebonds. Starscream by default saves his trinemate; he doesn't even need to think about it. Novastorm isn't his trinemate: she belongs in trine to Acidstorm and Ionstorm (where the Pit are they?) Starscream doesn't even consider saving Novastorm instead of Warp.

Skywarp does share a bond of some sort with Novastorm though as she immediately rushes to Novastorm's rescue, pulling her from the tentacles of the Dweller. (I'm not sure what Skywarp and Novastorm's bond is - did they pack together after finding themselves seperated from their trines and other seekers? Are they sisters? Lovers, maybe?)

Meanwhile, Megatron is pissed off that Starscream has escaped and complains about it to Optimus Prime and Croft. Despite Croft's negative permission on going after Starscream (she's more concerned about keeping her creepy horrible secrets than a deadly seeker being loose,) Optimus helps Megatron to the place where Starscream escaped with his two seekers then promptly sets Megatron on hunting down Starscream, asking that Megatron bring Starscream back safe.

By this point in the episode it has been made clear that Megatron and Starscream have some serious trust issues - and that Starscream seems to have very good reason to fear Megatron. Hashtag, being a kid, is willing to listen to Starscream where adult Cybertronians have not and she and Starscream become friendly after she saves him from the Dweller and more importantly, states her willingness to hear his side of the story, despite her liking Megatron.

And, of course, after some more incidents with the Dweller occur, we do witness a pretty violent encounter between Megatron and Starscream as Megatron attacks Starscream unprovoked. Starscream tries to defend himself from his lifelong enemy but ends up pinned down and helpless by Megs.

Hashtag, again, saves Starscream's plating, putting herself between him and his old tormentor. (Yes, I'm a Starscream sympathizer.) Hashtag points out that they need to unite against a common foe (the Dweller,) which Megatron doesn't believe until the Dweller grabs him, at which Megatron gives it a literal taste of his fusion canon.

Unfortunately, the Dweller manages to grab Hashtag, and Starscream then attempts to pull her free! (Gee, Megs, is it so hard to be kind to your seeker? Look how loyal he is when somebody gives him the time of day!)

Starscream ends up being caught by the Dweller too, which takes him and Hashtag to its lair where we find Novastorm and Skywarp encased in grotesque giant magenta Dweller-spit crystals.

Starscream's gaze immediately goes to Skywarp as she taps the crystal encasing her to get his attention and looks pointedly at the ceiling. It's important to note that Starscream looks at Skywarp before she signals to him, again, potentially implying that a trinebond exists between them.

Skywarp looks pretty hilarious in this frame, ignoring the fact that she's stuck in the Dweller's spit crystal.

The Dweller lets go of Hashtag and Starscream, and Starscream, seeing the monster's attention fixed on the vulnerable young Terran, prompts it to attack him instead by yelling at it, telling Hashtag to run.

The Dweller's predatory attention now fixed on the Air Commander, Starscream follows Skywarp's tipoff and shoots a large crystal that is hanging from the ceiling above the Dweller, which crashes down on top of it! A fight endues in which Hashtag gets powered up by the cave water which splashed down when Starscream's shot caved the roof in and literally drags the Dweller into a watery grave, the water being toxic to it (which was implied in an earlier scene where it was trying to grab Skywarp who had fallen into a puddle of the stuff.)

The Terrans have their field day with the water, (which fails to help Robbie,) then outside against a sunset we see Starscream refusing to let Megatron put him back in a GHOST cell, which he calls a 'cage' (sky hunger?) Megatron asks if instead he could send Starscream somewhere where he would be safe (the Malto/Terran base?) but Starscream refuses, claiming that he will never be safe wherever Megatron is.

This really does imply that Megatron has abused Starscream a lot in the past.

Starscream takes to the sky at which Skywarp and Novastorm materialize as if they have been loyally waiting for him to takeoff and before teleporting away to Megatron-free safety, Starscream calls his friendly regards to Hashtag, a fledgling bond of friendship having formed between young Terran and Air Commander.

Skywarp is holding hands with Novastorm (lovers?) but she grabs Starscream seemingly happily (trinebond?) and after Statscream salutes Hashtag with his nullray they teleport away (presumably to go find Thundercracker, I like to think.)

I really liked this episode; I especially enjoyed how curious Starscream became in the map room, which to me implied his past as an innocent scientist and interstellar explorer. (Will we see Skyfire ever?) Also when rousing a stunned Skywarp and Novastorm to get up and run, whose pedes did Starscream kick? Skywarp's.

I really think that a trinebond was implied here in this episode, and that there really is some very bad energon between Starscream and Megatron. I dearly hope that future episodes and seasons of Earthspark will show us more of Starscream's story.

Throughout this episode the seekers generally stayed together, apart from the initial incident with the Dweller where Starscream doesn't help Skywarp save Novastorm from it. Furious at Starscream over this, Skywarp chooses a different path than her Air Commander, at which Hashtag goes to Starscream's rescue instead. (Evidence of Skywarp and Novastorm being lovers? Or sisters? Whatever bond they share, it exists outside of the platonic bond of trining that Skywarp has with Starscream.)

Anyway, a great episode which left me really hoping for more!

So i finally decked down and wrote basically rhe entirety of the Sonic 06 timeline (not PLOT-line) because i got confused while trying to figure out some things with the story-

And unironically stumbled upon the fact that Silver and Shadow literally (accidentally) created well..

[Rambling below btw. ]

1. (Probably) a bootstrap paradox (Silver cannot be created nor can the timeline that creates him be created so i have 1 time line thats functionally exist as the origion stort yet because of the solutions the writer uses (erased timeline/ self-healing timeline solutions) this origin is functionally unobtainable, yet still exists.

But this ALSO creates-

2. A grandfather-ish paradox (because Silvers future cannot be created without Silver and Shadow preventing the original apocolypse from occuring (i.e. sealing iblis/mephiles). )

But again its an "ish" because supposively he prevents his own future from happening (via creating a portal so that Sonic can save Elise)?? But its shown like.. in the same scene (the elise dies one) he travels to the future with blaze and its still on fire.? So there could be multiple timelines (as alluded to by eggman in the final episode)

So we'd have to assume theres some weird timeline shenanigns at play here because the fucking WRITING INCONSITENCY- because there was no point in time was a character shown capable of using one portal to travel to different times- (it was always future to past or past to future not future AND past!!) which again makes it so that this gets tricky since how the hell did Silver and Blaze travel to a future that was inherently prevented and resulted in the creation of Solaris?? Which means like no iblis- or mephiles? So?????? I dont know anymore.)

Oh and Silver is the (rather indirect) cause for Solaris occuring- so theres no possible way that his future occured because its made via Elise dying by eggmans ship crashing with her still inside, causing iblis to arrise-

Which is an inconsitency, because again, the only reason Elise is alive and thus Solaris is made is because Silver went "hey just go back in time sonic and save her".

Oh about that:

3. Butterfly effect (Silver is the butterfly in this case and Mephiles is the asshole who decided to release him. If you were to write down everything thats happened because of the actions of both Silver and Mephiles you'd get the equivalent story of Silver fucks up and tries to fix it but ends up fucking up again without knowing it but somehow its in Mephiles favor then its not because of Silver AGAIN. All while Mephiles kicks up his feet and trolls Shadow the hedgehog for 2 days while occasionally chatting with Silver, then kills sonic, and then dies.

For my own sake im calling Silver "the moth effect" as not only does he indirectly (and sort of directly) help create this catasrophe, but also helps to prevent it- creating the net 0 gain of what i call "moth effect" as the boy comes back to bite. )

If we ignore the "accidentally creating his own future" part then its "accidentally became the reason as to why Sonic was able go save Elise which gives Mephiles the ability to finally kill this guy without any trouble (assuming that he couldnt kill Elise due to her protective barrier power or something idk)"

Which also makes it so he inadvertly helped Solaris.. become a thing? Because if he didnt well then we just create 200+ years of Iblis apocolypse, which will just create Silver again which means Mephiles will find Silver after 200+ years and then make him touch a shiny purple rock and send him back in time to go "lets go find the truth" with shadow and "hey just timetravel" to sonic which you'd think would prevent his future but no.

BUT HES ALSO the reason for why Solaris is NOT a thing after hyping everyone up to go find the emeralds and Elise to do her prayer thing-and then helping defeat Solaris (concious) and well knocking thag bad boy unconicous so he turns into a little flame that Elise can blow out.

Which, believe it or not, erases the future that Silver is born in, making it so that he never existed in the first place (with the exception of Blaze who now lives seperate from that dimension)

But also making it so that, much likd the original timeline #1, there is no possible way for them to access timeline #2 making me worry how many fucking timelines it took untill Mephiles (aka Soalris) managed to essentially kill himself (because again, Silver is NOT a certified time travler. MEPHILES IS. He orchastreted his own flight and death like fucking Icarus. My guy sat back, let a child loose in the kitchsn and waited till the house went up in flames i-)

Feel free to argue against me btw just provide evidence to support your claims pls, as itll help me in the long run while i continue my very own Solaris project

(P.S. Elise, Mephiles and Iblis, and Solaris, all have "S" sounds in that back of their name that make you hiss like a snake if you say them fast enough)

Oh outside of 06 its almost a "fate" thing that the world must be fucked as like there cannot be a silver rhe hedgehog without the universe finding a way to make a reality in which he can exist. Unles your Silver from colors, he gets a free run before having to suffer the horros of war.

- Steve lives for kissing you. Anywhere. Your lips, forehead, scalp, nose, neck, shoulders- He was in a hurry one time and just kissed your eyebrow and left!

- He adores sleeping with you. You're warm. And soft. And he LOVES it! He likes to completely tangle himself with you, so if you're sleeping expect him to shift his legs alot to get more comfortable.

- You get to have one rent-free tape at Family Video at most once a week. Don't tell. He would so get fired, and he's on thin ice. Dating in the Scoops Ahoy era? Free Icecream. Wherever he works you better believe you're getting something free from there.

- He a little slow sometimes so if you're being too cryptic for him he gets frustrated. Just kiss his nose and start again, but don't slow your talking or put any more emphasis on the words, like he's deaf. He can understand the words just fine, it's the situation and backstory bits he needs!

- Very touch. Much touch. Give touch. He holds you by your waist a lot and likes to be holding something most of the time. He's honestly touch starved and in denial about it.

- Lives for praise and compliments. Feed his ego a little! Tell him how much you love him! Tell him you're proud of him! Tell him he did a good job! He likes it a lot and his happy to reciprocate it as often as he can.

- Very cuddly. Again, he likes to be touching you, and cuddling is no exception. Sometimes he just stands there hugging you. When he sees someone he loves, he usually goes for the neck and they are forced to upper torso. He just does it accidentally.

- Lives for you to just sit on his lap. Whether you're watching a movie, playing video games, or anything else, use your personal couch cushion. He also likes when you stradle him and play with his hair and kiss all over his face.

- He's definetly not too much of a PDA guy. He... it's still kinda embedded into his brain that same-sex couples aren't really.. allowed in public from his high school days of putting up a front. He definetly pecks your cheek a lot in public, if you're somewhere away from prying eyes. He will still end up walking, standing, and sitting very close to you as the pair of you do things in public.

- The kids have a dad now! With Steve as their mom, it's only perfect that now he's no longer living the single-mother lifestyle! The kiddos adore you, and are maybe more confortablewith you then him. Max, noteably, REALLY likes you. Hang out with her some. She needs a little guidance sometimes, still.

- Robin likes to tease you. A lot. A lot, a lot. Like a lo- She just thinks you two are adorable, and to her you two are the second-best-secret-couple in Hawkins! (First being her and Vicki, of course )

- He likes to take long drives with you to anywhere. For a few hours, a day, a week, even a month if you want to travel. It's a great time to bond and just hang out. He definetly ones to take all of the kids ib the show on one huge trip with you that isn't just to save the world.

- Speaking of kids.

- Man WANTS some. He would love to foster kids of all ages in the future, and hopes you're okay with at least three children in the house at almost all times. He loves kids a lot, obviously, and since you both can't physically have them, he just wants to hold kids who really need a place to stay.

- If you're sad, he wants ti cheer you up! He's not very good at it, but sometimes he accidentally cheers you up when he tries his best to di something and it isn't working very well. Watching him try just makes you love him more!

- When he's sad, he's distant.He doesn't always do it on purpose, and sometimes its not really obvious. A little space between you, less love shared, and he tends to brush things off a lot when he's upest. Just let him work through them, and it'll go quicker than an intervention. If he does something that hurts you, or is unacceptable, tell him. He may be sad but it isn't an excuse to do things. He may be a little bitter about it at first, but he'll apoligize.

- If he accidentally makes you cry, which he has done, you better believe he is crying too. Mostly from stress and guilt, and believe it or not he cries really easily when others start crying. He feels fucking horrible. He ends up leaving you alobe until you let him in, and then he's just awkwardly apologizing. He doesn't know how to fix it, sometimes, and feels like a screw-up.

- Honestly he's a straight-forward lover, and is very loyal. He would never do anything to purposefully hurt you. 9/10, would reccomend.

random rundown of fic ideas I have on the docket for at some point in the future, if anyone is curious (or wants to take from these concepts to use themselves because these are Long Bois so I’m probably saving them for november):

in a timeline where ren’s kingship immediately goes horrible dictatorship, joe hills accidentally discovers he has the superpower of Time Loop, and sets out to figure out what went wrong, fix it, and save his friends. the trick with this fic, however, is that it would be a single king oneshot taking place entirely over one of the loops, at least a dozen attempts in, and ending with the end of another failed loop. it’s all about the middle bits here.

pearl wakes up as a horrible monster in an unknown laboratory with no idea how she’s gotten there, what she is, how to talk, or what to do from here. fic is about her escaping, piecing together what happened to get her into the situation she wakes up in, and getting back home again, somehow.

xisuma tries to deal with his emotions about season eight. bluntly this one would be about abuse, and reconciling that is the word that describes what happened to you. I’ve wanted to write this for months. we’ll see.

double life cast is mysteriously swapped with their hermitcraft selves, as told from cleo’s perspective as she’s suddenly in a world with a person who claims to be her best friend that she doesn’t remember, on this massive ocean base that she doesn’t understand, trying to just… deal with that. this would be a very focused on “joe and cleo as friends” fic, but with the angle of “cleo wakes up suddenly not knowing who joe is and joe is faced with a cleo who doesn’t have a decade of history with him”. really want to write this in some ways.

vague “something about helsknight because I have ideas about what helsknight is but I have since ditched the fic concept I originally had for the helsknight interpretation I wanted to use so I need to figure out where else I can get it to work and also NOT have him be too much like the man in the striped suit in my recent fic”

rare new techno/sort of sbi fic from me, recycling aspects of a VERY old bedrock bros concept I never wrote. set in a world where people have various minor magical gifts/superpowers, old war god/demon technoblade is retired, thank you very much, and largely haunts a farmer’s market where he’s in a totally normal competition with the other local potato salesman and is maybe friends with the farmer’s market gang (featuring niki and sophie and probably connor along with obviously squid, amongst others). one day however one of his regular customers, out of desperation, summons techno to make a pact, a thing techno hasn’t done in decades. this person is tommy. wilbur is missing. he wants techno to help save him. cue adventure. at some point in my head this was supposed to be a superhero sbi fic send-up so there MAY be superheroes in the background but this has turned way more into the magical realism wheelhouse I reside in over time so you know. maybe not. anyway this is a BIG maybe since I largely sit in hermitcraft these days but I am still fondly attached to “old god techno and tommy, desperate regular human, end up bonding” because I came up with the basics back in november 2020 and have just never have successfully written it and also it’s morphed actual plots and basically every beat but that part like twelve times so we’ll see.

false ends up back in her homeworld, but fwhip and I think maybe shelby also end up there accidentally with her and also it turns out that false’s old world kind of sucks so they have to try to get fwhip and shelby home while false faces internal conflict over whether she stays in her homeworld or goes back to empires. this one relies on knowing a BIT more about false before I’m comfortable writing it though.

anyway I think those are all the main docket ideas for “next big thing second tries to write” but this guarantees none of them because, like, you never know if a new idea will take over my brain between now and november or anything else,

I already reblogged & screamed about this, but I find JJ’s “door’s locked” metaphor even more poignant now because the idea has always been that JJ was locked out, but this hits harder because Kie wasn’t the one locking the door and she was actually locked in. I’d love your take on this (maybe accidental) wink/parallel 😊

I have so many feelings about this. Ironically, when he says he knows the door's locked, I think he -- and the other boys, had never really knocked before the show starts. Flirty, jokey comments and the whole "everyone's got a thing for her" of it all probably meant Kiara never took any of them seriously. Proof of this is, to me, that when John B. to a point, and then Pope knocked ...she gave them a chance. She entertained the thought. In fact, she took that way farther with Pope than it made any sense to, because she cared about him enough to try.

So, when JJ's saying "door's locked," I think that's partly his perception. He threw a pillow at the door and went, oh, well ...door's locked. And he didn't try that hard because he didn't think it was worth it to lose Kie if he did. Ironically, he cared too much to push it.

If he had, though, he might have realized earlier that Kiara's entire existence wasn't what they all perceived it to be. That she never had parents that loved her unconditionally and would support her no matter what, she had parents that loved her "as long as she behaved the way they wanted her to." And though they gave her some "freedom" they always expected her to end up as a Kook. The moment it became clear to them that wasn't where it was going, they sent her to Kitty Hawk.

Kiara was always locked in, as you say, and the lock was everyone's perception of her. Her parents, on the one side, and the Pogues on the other. Everyone expected the same thing out of Kiara, expected her to end up in the same place -- despite everything. So no one bothered to try the lock, the outcome seemed already set in stone.

And though it took him a while -- more because of his fear than his expectations, though, for someone like JJ, those two things go hand in hand -- JJ was the first person to offer Kiara a different future and to listen to her when she said she wanted it. That, to me, was part of their relationship journey in S5. JJ heard her at the end of S2, and then he had to fight his own demons to truly believe her. But when he did, and when he realized he was the only one who truly saw her ...well, he couldn't leave her to become the thing he now understood she never wanted to be.

Anyway, yes, the door's a metaphor and a pretty clever one -- especially if they want to tell us it was never the plan. But I think the beauty of the Jiara progression is also in the decision, by both of them, to listen to what the other person is saying, but to weigh that with what they know of each other. Some people live their entire lives with that door locked because no one ever tries to open it. Thankfully it wasn't so for Kiara.

Do you think that I’m season 5 we’ll find out why Rayla came back. I mean she kinda just showed up. Also, do you think some traumatic thing happened to her? If so, what do you think it was?

Given that S5 is likely going to be Ocean and Callum by the end of S4 has going through his initial block and will likely be way more willing to talk / expressly want answers in S5, I think so, yeah!

Also yes, I 100% think that something traumatic happened to Rayla during her time away, if not a few things. Keep in mind that everything she’d been through from S1-S3 and TTM — turning against Runaan, almost losing her hand, almost losing Callum, almost dying times like five, being Ghosted by everyone, the nightmares and PTSD, etc — were not enough to take away her core ‘saviour complex’ (for lack of a better term) that she had in early S1 and all the way through S3.

Now, in S4, we see she’s shut that part of her down - eerily reminiscent of the way Callum has heavily emotionally repressed his own ability to feel. For any other character, leaving the drake in the forest wouldn’t be out of character (Callum and Ezran were both willing to, ultimately, in 2x07 after all) but it is a massive shift for Rayla in particular, and that feels purposeful.

We know, bare minimum, she was travelling entirely on her own for at least six months if not maybe a full year, since Stella is still a baby in an almost teething like stage of comfort, gnawing, and cuddles. Real life human babies start teething around 6-12 months, for example, and other animals even younger, so she’s on the early stage in Rayla’s life, absolutely

So I have one to like, five factors I think could have heavily played a part

The initial isolation of 6+ months and being on her own heavily wore her down and was a new experience for her, since Rayla had never been that alone before, always travelling with her troupe and then the boys. I doubt her nightmares about Callum suddenly vanished when she did, lol, so that’s another layer too

Possibly a near death experience or drowning, whether accidentally or in an attempt of saving someone, would likely deeply rattle her given her history. This could be what inspired her to come home. Oneshot pending

There was someone Rayla could not successfully save, and they asked her for a TW mercy killing. She did it, meaning she knows Aaravos isn’t assessment of her isn’t entirely accurate even if it’s still true about Viren. This would mean she killed someone she 1) didn’t want to and 2) wasn’t even her target. Also oneshot pending

Rayla possibly ran into the Bloodmoon Huntress, a dangerous Moonshadow villain from her childhood named Kim’Dael, resulting in one of the two aforementioned options

Compounded by everything or nothing, an emotionally and physically exhausted Rayla decides to throw herself into actually trying to Move On and Let Go for the first time, and knows the first step there is going back to Katolis to face the music

The same way Rayla coming back to Katolis forces Callum to stop emotionally repressing everything he was feeling about her and thereby get back to being more genuinely and wholly himself (which is going to be very important considering possession is about being stripped of autonomy and identity in equal measure!!), I think Callum is going to help Rayla restore herself back to the heroic selfless figure she was, but in a healthier way than ever before. It won’t surprise me if Rayla doubles down in future seasons on a self-destructive route (possibly in S5 depending on how the coin plot goes) now that she’s tried to let go and failed, but she’s also lost some of what made her selflessness a good quality - and they’ve always been heavily tied to each other’s identity and having an ultimately positive, if sometimes painfully transformative, impact on each other
