Elise was a board member at the Chicago Therapy Collective and key player of the collective's #HireTransNow initiative. She was a devoted trans liberation leader and beloved community organizer within Chicago's trans community.

Elise was reported missing on March 11th 2022, her body was found 6 days later along the shores of Lake Michigan, near Garden Park.

I am telling lies right now and I do not feel ashamed.

(Actually, I'm going to call it ACTING! I am acting right now. Just doing a cute little improvised scene at my desk.)

So, a little bit ago, my (stupid) company agreed to sublet an office space to one of the members of their board of directors.

The office they provided to this (old, probably pretty wealthy (ergo...out of touch and easy to despise) dude is right next to my department's area. (In fact, they took an office space that we used DAILY to conduct private and sensitive work calls. Usually it was used by our benefits manager or by the senior manager who would use it for employee relation discussions. We - my team and I - are all pretty salty about it. Dammit, that was space we found useful and important. Why do you take away the tools we need to do our job?!?)

This dude is a loud talker. He generally refuses to close this office door, which means we all get to hear all the business he is conducting (today I've already learned that he doesn't agree with our current mayor and is pushing for...honestly, never mind. It is only important as I am judging him for being so freaking loud).

I'm the only one in my area today, but that doesn't mean I'm not annoyed that his door is open and his conversations are shoved right into my ear holes!

So. I pretended I was gearing up for a conference call / presentation. I started announcing loudly and clearly that "it looks like we're waiting on a few more attendees, but we'll get started soon, folks." Then I would add bits a verisimilitude - mentioning that there are some documents in the meeting invite, go ahead and download those now if you haven't already done so. Or I pretended that someone asked about another upcoming presentation, and I was able to let them know it was scheduled for February. Another announcement that we'd be starting shortly. Pretending to introduce the speaker for my (fake) meeting. Etc. Etc.

Just as clearly and loudly (as is appropriate in the office setting) as I could.

And it WORKED! The dude just closed his door, so as not to be irritated by my antics.

Awesome.

Still hate that he is here in our area. Still hate that he doesn't care that he is not being a good neighbor. Still hate that the orders from management are for us to be on our best behavior because he is a board member and so much more important than us, the actual employees.

Phantom does not like Bruce Wayne, he tells Batman with a completely serious face.

Phantom is hanging out in the Watchtower, shooting the shit with Green Arrow.

Well, Phantom is talking shit about rich people.

"Sounds like a personal grudge," Batman comments idly. Lots of people don't like rich people, so he isn't actually offended.

"Oh, I just hate a select few. Oliver Queen? He's fine." Green Arrow visibly preens.

Batman feels a lip twitch, but fights the smile.

"What about Bruce Wayne?" Superman asks, very deliberately not looking at Batman.

Phantom snorts.

"Bruce Wayne? I hope he wrecks one of those fancy cars and needs both his feet amputated."

The room goes completely silent.

"Holy crap, kid; what'd he do?"

"He backed Vlad Masters is what he did. The Wayne Tech he provided was used to get one-up on me; took me literally two months to escape." The kid cracks his neck, and the high neckline moves enough to show off a shiny new red scar.

Bruce feels the world drop from under his feet.

"He what?" The question is ripped from Batman's throat before he even finishes thinking it.

"Oh yeah, he also financially backed the supporting senators behind the anti-ecto acts. Bruce Wayne is a literal useless sack of shit."

"...I'm sorry, the anti-ecto what?" Superman's voice is strained as he asks, and his eyes are already starting to glow.

Bruce, after getting back to the cave, pulls Tim aside and together they rip into every single transaction the board did both over the table and under it.

And there it is.

Multiple board members had been using Bruce Wayne's name as they donated to shady politicians, essentially sold off his developmental tech that was supposed to be disposed of, and had been embezzling funds.

On all official papers, Bruce Wayne was the biggest backer for a law that was in clear violation of Meta Rights.

HOW ELECTRAMECCANICA FAILED ITS EMPLOYEES

As a general notice to the public, business partners, executive staff, and the board members of ElectraMeccanica (NASDAQ: SOLO).

ElectraMeccanica claims to create products that are “purpose built around the needs of their drivers”. This is a progressive statement from a forward-thinking corporation. For a company to create such personalized products, their corporate culture should align with their vision. Like other companies, ElectraMeccanica, has recently laid off staff. Of course, downsizing is not an uncommon practice. What is unfortunate, however, is the way in which ElectraMeccanica carried out their layoffs. To name but a few examples of how this corporation chose to lay off workers, down-sized employees faced:

ü Immediate termination without warning

ü Halt of salary payments on the day of termination with zero financial support through the end of the month

ü No severance package

ü Benefits to be terminated at the end of the month, during a pandemic

Sources state that ElectraMeccanica recently provided their vendors a 30-day notice with full payment. Despite this treatment of its vendors, ElectraMeccanica did not offer the same courtesy to their own hard-working employees.

In conclusion, downsizing is a reality and is never an easy decision to make. When faced with this type of decision, it is important to note the impact layoffs have on both the corporate culture and more importantly the families relying on this income to pay their bills. The way ElectraMeccanica chose to carry out layoffs provides deep insight into how little value the company and the executives running the organization hold for their employees. As an investor, I plead with the board to re-evaluate the leadership currently in place to ensure that the company does the right by their employees.
