Plot overview: When Billy Russo, CEO of private military firm Anvil, was tasked with the security and protection of New York's most feared mafia leader and his family over an unknown yet dangerous threat, he didn't know he not only would risk his safety over the job, but his heart too.

Series warnings: female!reader, slight age gap (reader is of age), no specific physical descriptions mentioned. This fic contains canon-typical violence, mentions of death, injuries, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, college burnout, financial instability, mentions of misogyny and other unacceptable behaviors, very foul language. Reader has a first name (Dana).

A/N: so, i kinda changed this universe a little bit, where billy is the CEO of anvil and frank works there as his top agent. I'm picturing a mafia leader to be a very conservative and traditional man who pretty much doesn't think women should be in power, but i can assure that it does reflect in no way my own beliefs —this is just for the sake of the plot. Any triggering content will be specified in every chapter, but if I missed any, let me know :)

Things to Note:

2) Normally, he would never take his domino off in the field, but Jason cried so much, the adhesive holding it in place stopped working

1) Jason really respects Damian and the support he’s always gotten from him, so in this moment, after the shock from Part One wore off, he would definitely call Damian before Bruce

3) Akhi meaning ‘brother’ lol - I asked my friend for a better term, and she said ‘akhi alsagheer’ would be ‘small brother’ but too literally and too formal so... AKHI IT IS!

4) Even though it wasn’t anyone’s fault in the family, Damian’s always felt so guilty over the loss of Dickie

5) Jason spends a lot of his time reading his favourite books to Dick - whenever Damian comes by to take over monitoring duty, he’s always shook by how fair Jason gets in the stories lol

6) Tim spends some time with Dick, but prefers action and has spent the majority of his time trying to track down the Court of Owls and their next move - he feels more useful and productive DOING something. Jon comes by with stuffed animals and to drop off food from Ma while the Batfam and Alfred are all over-whelmed with the situation. Bruce spends his time with Dick in silence, just holding his hand.

Despite some more frosty temperatures,

the backyard has truly started to transform, and one of my favorite things in spring is when the fruit trees and the Serviceberry begin to bloom. The latter is a little early this year, it usually starts in May. Yesterday was beautifully sunny, a perfect occasion for happy spring portraits. The Hummingbirds, Orioles and Grosbeaks should start arriving soon as well, and milder weather is on the horizon. Finally!

It was so rainy this morning! It pretty much rained the entire time I was birding. Got so cool pictures though!

The baby geese, they are growing up! They are looking more and more like adult geese everyday:

There were SO MANY swallows out flying around. They kept flying around me, they were so much fun to watch! And they’re SO PRETTY too. I tried to take some pictures of them in flight, but it’s SO HARD. This one is ok, I need to practice more. This guy is a barn swallow:
