thinking a lot about the collapse of iterators. particularly in the context of lttm. like. the internal ecosystem of an iterator does not appear to be based on a normal food chain like the outside world, so you can kind of infer that at least on a basic level their water consumption is the way they feed their components. something about the idea of countless parts of her literally dying. sure- the pumps are failing, but she literally atrophying. starving, as more and more parts of her necrose and die. the pain is unimaginable. her overseer feeds slowly dissapear. her memory becomes more and more fragmented and hard to access as all of her countless neuron flies starve for water. threads breaking, metal creaking. the cracks in the skeleton seem to pale in comparison to the dead lights, blackened purposed organisms, the overwhelming smell of decay. something climbing up the sides to get to the food she can no longer see due to her overseers failing.
i wonder if the sever of her umbilical was, in some way, a relief. cutting off the pain, cutting off the knowledge of her death.
and. idk. i think a lot about how shes interupted by the constant panels of 'danger' when speaking to spearmaster. pebbles really is killing her. and she has to stare those warnings in the face as she drops to the floor of her chamber in agony and still choose to, overall, forgive him and try to help him rather than force a stop.
its too late. like a limb that needs to be amputated, but its the head being cut from the entire body.
she only retains five neurons.

Living beings have only 2 possibilities to make their species survive in the long run: reproduce or become immortal. What if there was a human-like species where evolution had chosen the second option? If the species always consisted of the same beings, who had been alive for at least thousands of years? What if that species still slowly became extinct, because there's no way of being truly immortal - and over time, one by one, they got killed by the inescapable forces of nature?
What if this species decided to find a way to artificially create descendants - but they didn't quite get the immortality right? What if the being they created was incapable of dying, but their flesh was still slowly rotting from the inside?!

10/4/23 ~ One of my classes I’m taking this semester that I haven’t mentioned is Horticulture Pest Control. I know, I know… I want to do sustainable gardening. That’s what I was thinking when I found out I had to take this class for my program.
And what’s funny is, if I pass my license exam, I’ll be a certified pest control person 😆
I’m learning the pros and cons to pest control and it’s actually very interesting. How to culturally do it before it even becomes a problem and then taking chemical actions if it is a problem. But it is very interesting learning both sustainable and non-sustainable sides of pest control. And how we actually add a bunch of our unwanted pest in our yard by doing certain things we think help our yard.
Maybe I’ll get into that sometime, I don’t know 😆 Would any of you be interested in things of that nature? Or nah?!😂
Anywayyyy —
I am being sustainable, and that’s what I’ve always done and always wanted in my garden. So I’m going to stick to my guns & continue to treat my yard/plants with organic, botanical and/or biological practices 👩🏻‍🌾
I’m learning about biological & botanical pesticides, fungicides & herbicides. So far in the garden - I’ve handpicked all my problems, used neem oil & diatomaceous earth. Since I’m educating myself, I may invest and try out some new biological products for my garden for the next year. 😇 It’s all about learning & testing things out yourself, folks!

"I'm not here to be your enemy, " smiles the starry xún, his sunny mane golden and deepening into twilight navy. The giant primate(?) holds out an enormous hand, neither callous nor soft, his black nails resembling rock formations of dark limestones. The heaven-born monkey hesitates a little before jumping onto the palm of the sky-sent simian— who, for all that they almost shared the same features, resembled nothing of apes, gibbons, macaques, and other monkeys the Great Sage had ever seen.
"But perhaps we should get to know each other, hm? " He brings Sun WuKong closer to peer at him with his giant obsidian pools as eyes, shining zenith and nadir at the center of his pupils.
"And why should I? " The Monkey King scoffs as he pointed his compliant golden cudgel at the giant's irises. "What if you're just one of Heaven's deities here to take me down because I opposed them? I do not take strangers as friends, even if we share the same face. " he accused, but the other simply chuckled and brought a merry sort of tingling in the recesses of Sun WuKong's bones. Not a forgotten feeling, no, but more like a forgotten afterthought.
"Sharing a face, sharing eyes. That is but the mold in which was used last. I was the first, little King, and you were the finality of that body. "
"What do you mean? "
The ocean moved with the shifts of the xún as he raised one arm and calmed the skies, thunders and lightning marks ceasing as he commanded. "You see, Nüwa did not take it in stride when a life brimmed from the suns. Fiery, arid, and thicker than what makes worlds and constellations. She is the mother goddess of mankind and before Heaven and Earth, things awakened from darkness. Not like you, of course, you were created from nothingness. I had part in every breath you breathe the same way I had part in your creation. " He was very straightforward and blunt, shaking the core of the King's soul.
Sun WuKong watched as the elder star tilts his head, mane resembling rays of the sun falling from his broad shoulders. "I've always known I was something born from stone, but my true life was taken in account of the absorbed essence of Heaven and Earth. " He chitters when a great finger lightly taps once on the crown of his head, almost knocking his backwards. He rubbed that burning spot, "But what does that make you? And who are you anyway? "
The Great Sage watches as the giant primate withdrew from his piercing gaze, pulling back his neck and shoulders before picking the heaven-born monkey up by the scruff of his cape. He dangled many meters from the ground higher than the point of Huagou Mountain.
"Little one, " the xún grins wide with his star points as teeth and shakes his great mane, leaving tiny celestial bodies floating in the air before they dissipated. Sun WuKong feels his breath leave his body and his blood freezing up inside his veins. He thinks as though this was a danger that he won't leave without wounds.
"I am Tiāngān, the Twelve Heavenly Stems."

hi! i have some hypothetical questions:
is it be possible to have more than one intersex variation? maybe if one was a chromosomal variation and one was a hormonal variation, or etc? can you have more than one very similar variation (e.g. PCOS & CAH)? (i think that one would probably go undiagnosed if that was the case)
is hyperandrogenism outside of hyperandrogenic PCOS always intersex? i assume that hyperestrogenism is intersex too? what about hypoandrogen/estrogenism?
are uterus differences intersex (uterus didelphys, bicornate & septate uterus, etc.)?
and finally a personal question: i have hyperandrogenic PCOS & recently had a total hysterectomy. my surgeon told me i had a very small cervix, to the point where they almost had to convert to an open surgery because they didnt think they could use the cervical opening to pull the parts through. could that be related to hyperandrogenism? or was it just a coincidence/within the dyadic size variation?
thank you & i hope youre all having a good day :)
Hi!
So generally, most intersex variations are pretty mutually exclusive, and it all really depends on the underlying genetic cause. Some intersex variations we don't know enough about the genetic cause or how it functions to really have conclusive information about some aspects of it, and it might be hypothetically possible for some intersex variations to be comorbid. I am not an expert and really can't say more than that, but generally, most people are only diagnosed with one intersex variation.
For PCOS and CAH, that's a bit complicated. Currently, there are several proposed sets of diagnostic criteria for PCOS (Rottendam criteria, NIH criteria, and Androgen Excess Society criteria.) Generally, a key factor of PCOS is exclusion with other hyperandrogenic variations, meaning that you have to rule out things like NCAH before getting diagnosed with PCOS. But there are people who are misdiagnosed with PCOS when they actually have CAH, and people with CAH who have polycystic ovaries. So there is some overlap between the two, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are actually comorbid.
Hyperandrogenism is not always considered intersex. If it's caused by Cushing's, tumors, or medication, that's generally not considered intersex. When it's caused by other congenital variations, it usually is considered intersex.
Hyperestrogenism in people with XY is considered intersex, although it's more commonly referred to as Aromatase Excess Syndrome.
Hypoandrogenism and Hypoestrogenism is called hypogonadism and it isn't always considered intersex, as sometimes it can be caused by injuries or infection. It is sometimes considered intersex, and is associated with intersex variations like Klinefelter's and Turners.
I think uterus differences are a little less clear cut-they aren't usually grouped together with intersex variations, and traditionally haven't been considered intersex. However, if people with uterus differences feel solidarity and benefit from the support of intersex community, I'm not going to tell people that they can't participate in intersex community. This is one of those times when it really comes down to self + community evaluation about whether or not intersex is a label that makes sense.
I couldn't really find any data showing definitively that PCOS causes a shorter cervix, although there did seem to be some association. So I don't really know for that one!
Overall when it comes to defining what is and isn't intersex, I usually refer back to InterAct's explanation of what intersex is:
An innate physical trait that falls under the umbrella of variations in sex characteristics, generally meaning that the variation:
Shows up in a person’s chromosomes, genitals, gonads or other internal reproductive organs, or how their body produces or responds to hormones;
Differs from what society or medicine considers to be “typical” or “standard” for the development, appearance, or function of female bodies or male bodies;
and is present from birth or develops spontaneously later in life
Is often significant or noticeable enough to cause stigma or violence in a person's life, whether through explicit discrimination or implicit ways that society enforces the sex binary
I'm not the authority on what is or isn't intersex, and there are definitely some areas where it's clearer than others. I just generally consider whether or not something is an innate physical trait not caused by temporary factors such as a medication, whether or not that trait causes variations in sex characteristics, and whether that trait is considered within the "typical" variation of dyadic sex characteristics or if it's outside the sex binary in a way that causes societal stigma. I'm not interested in telling people whether they are or aren't intersex or denying people intersex community resources if they feel like their variations meet the definition.
I hope that makes sense!

the armethos (hehe a shorthand pun) makes me giddy its SUCH a fun theory but also imagine how much of a pain in the ass it'd be for Trace to be stuck with him
NODSNODS. although this theory would kinda. Dilute the initial death of athetos. though we do know that the death is just a hop into the next world its still a tragedy of sorts!!!! and we dont know how the clones/"original" people traverse the universes and if athetos was actually just like oh psyche. still here brother. it'd be a biiit flat to me. it would BY NO MEANS be a dealbreaker theres many many interesting things to it still that would be fun to explore
