4/28/24 ~ so I had a second flush of my Lions Mane Mushrooms! I didn’t mist them with water as much as I was supposed to, so some parts were brown. I decided to cut the bad parts off and try to see if they’d grow outside under my porch 😆

I’m not sure if they will or not, but I placed them on top of some pine needles that have been there for 3 years and topped them off with cedar wood chips. Gonna keep them kinda moist and see how it goes from there!

I’ve just now learned about Mycology since taking my sustainability in horticulture class. It’s very intriguing and I had a blast growing the Lion’s Mane mushroom kit and plugging logs in class. So I’m just experimenting myself with leftovers at home. 😇🍄

It looks like I’m going to have maybe one more flush with my kit, and once it’s done — I’m going to break up the inside of the kit and try the same technique as this with it!

4/22/24 ~ got 2 cuttings of muscadine from school to propagate. I read how I can still do it this time of year as long as I clipped soft limbs with at least 4 nodes - so we shall see how it turns out! 👩‍🔬🧪🌱
