weird request, but id just like to see moon and boreas interact at all
would've been a weird request if I hadn't gone into a private turbo brainstorm mode about them back in November. there's quite a bit to make them an appealing duo

I think a lot about Moon and Pebbles as the “neglected older sibling” and the “favored younger sibling” respectively a lot
Moon was an older model, and likewise one of the first iterators ever built. Five Pebbles was built very close to her facility grounds, something that was very uncommon and later led to many difficulties as we see in the games. We can also infer Moon did not think too fondly about the ancients, as she refers to them as “skin parasites” and mentioned not really missing them.
Meanwhile, Five Pebbles’ feelings on the ancients are very different from Moon’s. When talking about them, he mentions to have had a mutually symbiotic relationship with the ancients, and even says their absence has made things harder. Despite the controversy that came with Five Pebbles’ construction, we can see that a lot of the ancients cared for him. He was referred to as a “gift of charity from [the ancients] to the world,” and even “Five Pebbsi,” a reference to the real world drink pepsi, was created and shown in metropolis.
Even as Five Pebbles falls, he holds onto the pearl playing Halcyon Memories, a hymn from the ancients. The meaning of the word “Halcyon” refers to a period of time that was ideally peaceful and happy.
I do think a large reason as to why Pebbles was so obsessed with the idea of personal ascension was because the absence of the ancients left such a big mark on them. When mass ascension occurred, he was left behind, still left to solve the great problem.
