while it may seem like any other reply, pearls who met oceana's leader sage- who's also one of the ceos of their label, earlier today revealed that the label did not know that bighit music were going to confirm the news and thaf the confirmation came as a surprise to both the artists and the label.

it was also noticed by fans how in only enca labels' response mentioned about all the malicious comments and thag bighit doesnt even try to protect their idols.

while most of the fans of both groups are celebrating their fav idols together, some are demanding for better treatment from bighit.

A couple of thoughts on the BigHit Music/BTS relationship and... that rumour!

First the rumour

So, let's get the rumour out of the way... [though I'll probably come back to it eventually].

Last month an anon directed me to a rumoured 2020 blind item, about two members, who hadn't extended their contract...

This account is a known Taekook account. The comments/replies suggest the original poster of the blind doesn't exist and they posted this blind just before closing their account... but here's the thing why can't I find any reference to the original post. You're not telling me shit loads of Taekookers, hell OT7 and solo stans wouldn't have been all up in that shit if this blind was around in 2020. I never saw such a blind back then and I follow two big blind item websites (they have always intrigued me). This makes me think the post wasn't real. But perhaps there's a slither of truth in it...

Then on 11th Feb 2023, Crazy Days and Crazy Nights posted this...

And in the comments, there is the prevailing theory that BigHit/HYBE is deliberately not promoting their (Tae and JK) solo project stuff as some sort of evidence to back this theory up. Despite the fact that BH doesn't promote work that they don't produce themselves. I have yet to see a tweet or Weverse announcement about RM's involvement in a K-Variety Show he's doing, or Hobi, Suga and Jimin's recent fashion brand deals. Why because those companies are more than capable of promoting their own work with the members themselves.

Tae's cooking show is currently being promoted by the broadcaster as per usual and JK's World Cup Single was for a different label so any promo would have been done by them. Also, if BH weren't supportive of these endeavours do you really think they would allow their staff to travel and work with the Tae and JK and and provide support on these projects? You knot

I also find it interesting that a blind item that is supposedly 2 1/2 years old is suddenly back again and linked to a recent company purchase and Blackpink. That just seems suspicious.

I'll leave that there for a bit...

Let's keep it on the down low...

Now let's look at HYBE and BigHit and why I think the boys might have more control than we currently see.

Earlier this week, in light of the whole HYBE/SM drama, I saw two TikToks from the same user that piqued my interest and how BTS might have more power than we think...

Now I, like many others, was under the assumption that HYBE had full control over BigHit, but after a little research, I've found that this TikTok is true and BigHit is a separate entity to HYBE itself...

This twitter thread from April 2021 (when Scooter Braun and Ithaca Holdings were purchased), is very insightful and all publicly available...

So, in essence, when HYBE was in the process of purchasing Ithaca Holdings from Scooter Braun, Bang PD did something, he and the HYBE board (mostly made up of former BH Entertainment people) unlisted BigHit Music from the stock market and separated it off as private company. Still owned by HYBE but privately owned by them and independently operated and not affected by HYBE's dealings.

Before I move on some context that's needed for later…

In 2018, BTS re-sign with BH

In 2020, we discover BTS's contract renewal will run from June 2020 to June 2024

October 2020 BH Goes public BTS get shares in the company

6 months later Big Entertainment splits in HYBE and BigHit Music.

By 2021 we learn they have extended their contract for the full 7 years to 2027.

2022 BTS go on break from group duties ahead of enlistment.

NOTE: I think Points 3 to 5 are very important to all of this....

(I hope we're all still here, lol)

Why do I think this is important and shows us why BH/HYBE is not out to get the boys?

Firstly, it shows that HYBE wanted BTS/BH to be protected in case anything happened to the rest of HYBE. This is pertinent considering the CDCN blind specifically mentions the purchase of the US company. How it's worded suggests that BTS profits paid for it and that the boys are in a slave contracts. If BH is sperate that suggests that their profits don't automatically go into HYBE's bottom line. Also, any idiot with a Google Degree can tell you in seconds that BH had one of the most progress profit sharing deals with its artists.

Additionally, we don't know who owns the shares in BH, we know that in March/April 2021, HYBE was the sole shareholder, what's to say that other entities are shareholders too... such as BTS.

Think about it, in 2020 HYBE/BH were trying to persuade BTS to do the USA thing, what if BTS who were not in a happy place with all the speculation of enlistment, plus covid, were close to saying no to an extension and a push into the USA. What if HYBE offered them something they could refuse, which would kill two birds...

What if BTS wasn't happy about BH becoming HYBE?

So why did BH not become HYBE in 2020 and waited until 2021? I wonder if the answer to this was BTS and their contract extension. Imagine this...

You're BTS and the company you've literally built, is about to go public and you as artists who were promised more control in your contract could potentially loose said control when the new company is formed. Add to this you've yet to officially extend your contract and said company want you to do something new and could benefit them massively (US market push & new ventures etc.).

Your BTS, what would you do?

Me I'd kick up a fuse until you made sure there were some provisions in place to protect your brand and your creative freedom.

Maybe, that's why BigHit didn't immediately become HYBE because BTS weren't fully onboard.

What would placate them?

Maybe making BH into a separate entity and giving the boys the control, they crave?

The would do two things, ease their minds about the USA push a little, as well as the change to HYBE.

However, this could happen straight away, and would take several months to implement, it's also possibly why the Scooter Braun detail didn't happen sooner. Prior to this happening, they were given share in HYBE, and I think during that six months they were given iron clad contract extensions that benefited them and BH (note not HYBE) greatly.

Another thing to consider... perhaps BTS are shareholders in BH Music the private company. All we know is originally when they private the company HYBE was the sole owner; once you're a private company you don't have to announce things about profits, stocks & share sales unless it's a takeover situation, unlike HYBE as public company.

I also think this private (and very possible) arrangement might be what led HYBE to purchasing stock in YG Plus because HYBE would get a slice of BTS revenue (from manufacturing/distribution costs that YG Plus generate) prior to BH/BTS getting their profits, because... what if, only a small portion of BH's actual profit can go into the HYBE's bottom line.

Anyway...

In conclusion, I think there was a slither of truth in the "original" blind item, but I wonder if it involved all the boys, perhaps led by the two (who we all believe to Taekook).

No, I don't think it was connected to their sexuality, but more likely their (BTS's) unease of the company they helped build going public and a possibly fear of being undermined by any new management, as well as the push into the USA.

The latest version of the blind, is most likely being stirred up by antis who want to isolate Taekook from the others (hence the constant HYBE don't promote their solo work, even though HYBE/BH don't do it for other members), making them out to be diva's who want more and more. Then use incorrect information in the process and therefore creating a blind that actually doesn't make factual sense.

The Blackpink thing? I have no idea.

Aus: Bed Sharing, Childhood Friends to Confused, GN! Reader, Reader is shorter than Tyun, its raining, and Taehyun is also still an idol btw :D (it just has no significance)

Warnings: Cuddles with Taehyun, mild and fluffy make-out, mild swearing, it's raining, y/n is a lil spooked by thunder and lightning btw, I'm really not good at this anymore, but I tried my best :D

Moving out was always scary. It's a big step into the real world. It's always nice to have a friend by your side.

Especially when that friend is Taehyun...

I look over to see Taehyun smiling at the movie we're watching. I can't help but smile to myself as I watch my best friend. His tapioca pearl eyes glisten with the bright tv, illuminating his face.

"You okay?" I jump at the sudden voice. Taehyun looks at me worriedly. "Yeah, I'm good, just thinking," I say with a closed-mouth smile. He pats my knee and continues to watch the movie. He drapes the blanket that's on him over the both of us, quickly stealing glances.

"I'm off to bed, you should probably get some rest as well, Y/n." Taehyun yawns patting my head. "Goodnight," He continues walking towards his bedroom.

"Goodnight!" I yell out so he can hear me. I fold up the blanket and head over to my room as well.

As I curl up in the warm blankets, the room fills with rain softly hitting my window. Suddenly a loud crash of thunder fills the silence, causing me to jump. "Why.." I groan, seeing a flash of lighting. I quickly climb out of my bed and waddle over to Taehyun's room.

"Tae?" I gently open the door and I see him reading a book. His warm honey skin glowed with the dim tableside lamp. "Can I stay in here until it stops storming?" I softly ask. He slowly looks up at me and smiles, patting the empty side of the bed. I hear another crash of thunder and speed up my pace walking to his bed.

I climb under his soft covers and immediately am greeted with comfort. Crash! Thunder goes off and I hide in Taehyun's arm. I hear him chuckle as he strokes my head a little bit. "It's okay... I got you," He reassures. He puts away his book, getting himself comfortable in his bed. He faces me and strokes my arm. "I got you," He continues to reassure.

I don't know what came over me but with our sleeping arrangements, his addicting voice, and the comfort of being with him; I had my hand on his face and pressed my lips against his. Tae didn't even wait for a second to kiss me back as if he were waiting for it. His large hands quickly grab my waist and pull me towards him. "Y/n... why are we doing this?" He abruptly stops and rests his forehead on mine.

"I don't know... but please don't stop." he reconnects his lips to mine. His arm lightly holds my waist. He's my best friend... and I know we should stop... But I don't want to. His lips are so warm and his bed is so comfortable. Everything about this moment is perfect.

Taehyun's soft hands reach behind my back, pulling me close to him. Our chests touch and our kiss stay gentle.

His tongue dances with mine and my eyes open, seeing his beautiful features up close. I smile into the kiss and he does as well. "Y/n, you're so beautiful," He mumbles into my mouth as he continues to kiss me. He grips my waist, desperately trying to keep me closer. I rub his face with my thumb and enjoy the feeling of being so close to Taehyun. Alas, the beautiful moment comes to an end when a loud crash of thunder booms through the room and I immediately hide under the quilt with a yelp.

"It's okay, I got you. You're safe with me." Tyun holds onto me and quietly hums. The warmth from his body and the comfort of the situation slowly lulls me into sleep.

The Next Morning

"Mmg," I let out a loud groan as I stretch. I open my eyes and see I'm in my own bedroom. How did I get in here? I stand up and exit my bedroom looking around to find Taehyun. There I see him, standing in the kitchen, cooking something for breakfast.

He looks up but quickly shifts his eyes away. "Goodmorning," I said while yawning. I open the cabinet to get a cup for some water. He makes a soft hum sound, finishing up with the food.

"May you set the table so we can eat?" He quietly asks, avoiding my gaze. What's up with him? I set the table, occasionally watching him. "Okay, breakfast is done," He announces monotonously. We both sit down to eat and he picks at his food.

"Are you okay?" I finally asked breaking the silence. He nods, still avoiding eye contact. We continue eating. I'm really not enjoying how quiet this all is. He won't look at me or talk to me. "This is really good, Taehyun," nothing but a nod.

"Kang Taehyun look at me goddamnit!" My hands make contact with the table, shocking Taehyun. He gasps and lets his mouth ajar. "Why are you avoiding me?" I'm worried about him and our relationship.

"I don't wanna talk about it," he mumbles walking towards his room. I stand up and follow him.

"Well too fucking bad, we're talking about i-"

"I'm in love with you! I'm in love with you, y/n!" He suddenly shouts, cutting me off. "Is that what you want?" My gaze softens as tears seem to fill his eyes.

"I don't know why you kissed me last night, but it was the best night ever. I really felt as if you and I were more than friends. I knew that you didn't feel that way about me, so I carried you back to your bed while you were fast asleep. I love you so much you have no idea." His voice remains shaky but he keeps himself together. I stare directly into his eyes before stepping closer to him. He shuts his eyes and a tear falls down his cheek. I quickly wipe it off but don't remove my hand from his face. His soft lips make contact with mine and I immediately force him to hold my waist.

His soft lips fit mine perfectly and he gently hums. I move my hands to his hair and he smiles. Taehyun pushes me towards the wall and holds me close. Eventually, he pulls away and rests his forehead on mine. "I never told you how I feel," I tease with a smile. Instantly, Taehyun pulls away and stares into my eyes. His big, glossy eyes stare worriedly into mine... I almost feel bad. "God, Taehyun I love you so much you have no idea. Every single day it just pains me that we're nothing but friends," We stand there in silence before he breaks out into a blushy smile.

"So... what now?"

I’m Always Here

A roundabout way of telling how Sophie ended up training at JYP

(A/N: sorry it’s kinda short!! I wrote this kind of in a hurry but I tried to make it quality ;-; oh and EVERYTHING between Taehyung and Sophie is completely platonic!!! and I realized a few days after posting that at the end I put the wrong title, I’m so sorry about that! It’s fixed now :)

Genre: comfort/fluff (sort of fluff??)

It didn’t matter where she went. She wouldn’t be back anyway. So she just ran, any old place, struggling to see past the tears blinding her eyes.

Stumbling upon an empty practice room, she sat down hard in the corner where nobody would see her and tried to pull herself together, knowing she’d have to go pack up eventually.

Her head resting on her raised knees and encircled by her arms, she didn’t realize that someone else had entered the room until she felt someone gently rubbing her back.

Surprised, she looked up, and a small gasp escaped her before she could stop herself. “S-sunbaenim… hello!” The Korean greeting coming out all garbled, she ducked her head in a quick semblance of a bow. Oh my gosh, it’s V- er, Taehyung- er, V- oh, who cares what he calls himself, it’s Taehyung from BTS!

“What happened?” Taehyung asked her, talking a little slower than a normal pace so that she could understand him.

“It’s- it’s kind of a long story if you want what really happened.” Sophie bit her tongue to keep from breaking down in front of him.

Taehyung produced a box of tissues seemingly from nowhere. “I’ve got time, you can tell me.”

Unable to keep it to herself any longer, Sophie told him everything that had led up to her current situation. Taehyung listened attentively, rubbing small circles into her back through the whole story.

“What with my horrible dance skills and my bad Korean, they finally were done with me,” Sophie finished, the memory of her elimination flashing across her vision and swaying her focus. “I got dropped.”

Taehyung’s face fell as she said that, and he picked up her small hands in one of his. “Your Korean isn’t nearly as bad as they think,” he told her frankly, making eye contact with her. “I admit it’s not perfect, but that’s only natural for a non-native speaker to have issues.” He reached for a tissue and began to gently wipe the tears and smeared makeup from her face. “I’ve seen you perform, and I won’t lie and say your dance is perfect. But you’ve only been training for about a year, right? Dance skills aren’t something you automatically have just because you had a few lessons. It’s like anything else worth doing, it takes time. I don’t know why they don’t understand that, but dance isn’t something you learn in a day.” Taehyung folded the tissue into a triangle to get a layered corner and gently swiped under her eye. Sophie automatically closed her eyes. “Keep your eyes open. It’s like when you get your makeup done, it’s easier to get under your eye.” Sophie opened her eyes again, and Taehyung continued, “I think it’s cruel of them that they gave you hope of debut and then cut you like that. They sure just took a loss with your voice, for sure. I don’t know what they were thinking. But now you’re in this situation, and you’ve got to figure out what to do now.” Taehyung paused in the makeup removal for a moment, looking her right in the eyes. “What were you thinking of doing?”

“I hadn’t really thought about it, but I should probably audition for other companies?” Sophie wasn’t sure why it came out as a question. Sometimes that happened when she was caught by surprise.

Taehyung nodded, resuming the gentle swipes of the tissue. “Any companies in particular you were thinking of?”

“I… I really like JYP,” confessed Sophie. “I originally auditioned there but they didn’t take me. HYBE was my second choice.” She felt really bad all of a sudden, admitting that to a very famous member of the whole HYBE/BigHit family. That his company had been her second choice and not her first.

Taehyung smiled encouragingly. “Then reapply,” he advised. “They’d be fools not to accept you. And I know that he had a lot of raw talent, but they debuted Lee Know. So I know they can work with your dance needs.”

From somewhere in the back of her mind Sophie remembered that Lee Know had been a backup dancer for BTS before debuting in Stray Kids. “I- I- thank you…” The words seemed too shallow to express what she really felt.

“Hey, no problem. I can tell you’re passionate about debut; otherwise why would you be this worked up?” Taehyung smiled kindly at her. “Now look me in the eyes, and listen closely.” When he had her full attention, he continued. “You have a very unique voice, Sophie. It’s beautiful, it’s powerful, and frankly, BTS, or NCT, or Blackpink- any group, in fact- would be indebted to have you in their group. Add that on to the major fact that you seem like a really sweet girl, and you’re a gem to any group. And as far as dance goes, Jin didn’t have any singing experience when the company recruited him, and now look. You have that same opportunity with dance. I’ve seen you dance; you have the power. The ability. You just haven’t unlocked it yet.”

Sophie was totally focused, absorbing every word. Not as a BTS fan; no, right now, Taehyung was speaking to her as a friend. And the fact that Sophie was an ARMY wasn’t even crossing the girl’s mind.

“You have so much potential. So much hidden talent. The key is out there; you just have to reach out and grab it. And hang on with all your might. I know you’ll succeed. I don’t know when or where, but I know for a fact that one day, I’ll see Sophie Lee on the big stage, killing every move and every note.”

Sophie felt tears rising up again, but this time they weren’t sad. “I… I don’t know how to thank you.”

Taehyung grasped her hands. “Just seeing that light of hope in your eyes is enough,” he told her. “I hate it when someone’s dreams get crushed when they’re so close to living them.” He let go of her and pulled out a small pad of paper and a pen, quickly writing something on it. “As soon as you get this entered and saved, burn the paper,” he instructed, handing her the paper. “I don’t guarantee immediate response, but you can talk to me anytime.”

Sophie held the paper tightly in her hand, ensuring she wouldn’t drop it. She tried to thank him, but the words wouldn’t come.

Just then a phone vibrated, and Taehyung checked the lock screen. “Oh, gosh, gotta go,” he said, standing up and helping her to her feet. “I hope to see you again, friend.” With that last sincere sentence, he dashed off into the hallways again.

Sophie uncrinkled the paper, reading it over again.

Hey, so I just wanted to celebrate that fact that this blog has officially been running for 1 month!! Thank you to those who have supported me, im working on requests now and I'm probably going to be filling my drafts the next few days, im on a writing streak and I'm so excited to be posting part 2 of my Mingyu fic and the one-shot for my Jeonghan fic. I had the hardest time writing the Jeonghan fic, I didn't have much motivation. When I started this blog, I started that fic and I thought it was terrible. BigHit Music announces OCEANA won't be renewing their contracts

they are no longer in bighit !

BigHit Music has announced that all five OCEANA members will be leaving the company. Their contracts are set to expire next month.

In a statement shared to various media outlets, BigHit Music made the shocking announcement to the fans around the world.

" Hello, this is BigHit Music.

We are writing this to inform you that after long discussions with the OCEANA members (Han Seulgi, Lee Sohee, Roh Hanbyul, Choi Haneul, Kang Younghee) about their future activities, respecting for each other's opinions, we have agreed to end our exclusive contract with the members as their contracts have expired.

We would like to sincerely thank the OCEANA members, who have been with us as our agency artist until now. We are looking forward to their future activities in various sectors of the industry and are cheering them all on.

Additionally, we also thank PEARLS who were with us for OCEANA's journey. We ask that you continue to give all the members your continued interest and support a they prepare for a new start. "

For New Kpop Fans

(A.n from jun.29.2022: ive had this in my draft for ages and I forgot why I did this but I think it was bc someone asked me to reccomend stuff to them but I went over my head and tried to make a big post and stuff and never finished it and I have no intentions on finishing it either because its too long but heres some of the songs and groups I reccomend listening too and fyi theyre mainly just older groups at this point since I dont really know the never groups that have been made within the past 2 years or so)

My exact thoughts.

They have released enough long and diverse discography and content already and at this point my ideal would be a group comeback every 2-3 years. Everything would be well prepared, the members would rest well, they could have the time to have an actual world tour (Not just USA and 6 other countries).

I must admit that I was a bit sad when they came out with that news because first of all I don’t fancy obligatory military training for so long, especially knowing the stuff that happens in it and how they might feel (harassment, no privacy, bullying etc) ; and because I fear that they might have to catch up on some skills later (I know that they have time off once in a while, but still…) but I actually never cared THAT much. In addition to that, I am actually happy that I can see each member work individually. As long as I can see them as a group at least once every 2.6 year with a (great!) full album. Because I won’t lie, 4 full years with no group music is kind of sad.
