Seeing that Epel and Rook used their unique magic, it makes me think everyone is gonna use their unique magic. Like imagine Kalim using his magic against his enemies or Jade use shock the heart for answers. Imagine reaching to Heartslabyul where everyone but Ace use it. This makes me think of Ace since he is a mysterious character and unclear motivation compare to the rest. What will be his dream? Will his unique magic be shown?
That’s true! Looking back, every character that is now “awake” has used their UM at least once:
Malleus uses Fae of Maleficence/Fae Maleficence to 7-37; this is the source of all our troubles in book 7 💀
Silver uses Meet in a Dream in 7-51, then again multiple times to dream hop and to wake up various students.
Lilia’s Far Cry Cradle is revealed in 7-81’s battle map via a flashback sequence. It is thanks to his UM that he understands the origins of the lone infant he finds in the ruins of Castle Wildrose. He blesses the baby and takes it under his wing as his own son… Silver.
Sebek’s Living Bolt, shown in 7-84, allows him to reach Silver and pull him out of the darkness that has swallowed him.
Idia uses Gate to (the) Underworld to open the gates to Tartarus and escape it in 7-114.
Book 7 confirms that Ortho is not capable of a UM, but is is his uniquely robotic ability to transfer his consciousness that allows him to adopt his Cerberus Gear in 7-50, infiltrate Sage’s Island, and return with valuable information to combat Malleus.
The magical glass coffin that Epel conjures with Sleep Kiss/Crimson Slumber in 7-135 protects Neige. It also (theoretically) slows the effects of Vil’s curse (the poisoned apple juice).
Rook uses I See You in 7-135 to tag Vil (who is sinking into the darkness of his dreams). This makes it easier for the gang to locate where Vil has gone.
Finally, in 7-138, Vil’s Fairest One of All allows him to poison Neige (who, up until this point, has been keeping tabs on him and preventing him from escaping the grasp of the dream) and rejoin with Yuu and co.
I guess since this is such a climactic book, the devs decided to go all out and have each boy show up and show off their own special power. This means we’ll most likely see the rest of the main NRC students using their UMs to help us out in the dreams! (Sasuga power of friendship…)
As for Ace! Now would be such an opportune time for him to develop his UM 😳 I believe the popular fan theory is still “Ace’s UM will allow him to copy others’ magic” since he mimics voices well and has a talent for quickly learning new skills (like dancing, as seen in book 5). And hey, if that’s the case then maybe Ace is the one who will be able to reverse Malleus’s magic if Malleus won’t willingly do it himself. Just spitballin’ here. Maybe Ace is frustrated that he can’t contribute in any way…? And then that feeling manifests as something?
How poetically ironic—the first student we meet ends up being the last to get their UM but also one of the final pieces of the puzzle to take OB Malleus down. It works out really well for Ace’s character too; he is the only character of the main cast who sees through the bullshit and calls people out, not caring about how influential or powerful they are.
I don’t actually think he’s that mysterious relative to other characters—we still barely know anything significant about Rook or Jade, for example (despite already diving into Rook’s dream). Rather, I think it’s more accurate to say that Ace has more simple desires. He just wants to be able to do what he wants when he wants, to not have to worry about his future plans. I don’t think his dream would really be anything that drastic; I see it as Ace living a chill life with his friends.

Chess pieces tidbits in Deep Cover
Wanted to see how the prisoners’ chess pieces in Deep Cover looked if you put them next to each other and there are some interesting things to note.
It’s convenient how the table stays at the same height during the whole sequence in the mv, so it’s easier to compare the pieces with each other.
At first, I thought they were sized according to the prisoners’ height (Kazui being the tallest and Amane the smallest etc). However, the order from tallest to smallest piece is actually as follows:
1- Kazui
2- Muu and Shidou at the same height
3- Yuno
4- Mahiru
5- Mikoto and Fuuta at the same height
6- Haruka
7- Amane
(There’s also a considerable gap between Kazui and Muu/Shidou and Haruka and Amane’s placements)
Who knows why this particular order was chosen instead of the prisoners’ height, but here are some of my guesses: I feel like the order is representative of how much of a (potential) danger Kotoko considers the other prisoners, or how highly she thinks of them, (even with her comments about them in Deep Cover (she does say she doesn’t hate them in one interro question but who knows)). I’ll also mention what chess pieces I think correspond to each prisoner but feel free to correct me on that as I’m a casual player.
Assuming the order from tallest to shortest represents the prisoners’ dangerosity level in Kotoko’s eyes:
-Kazui being the tallest could be because of the addition of his great intellect; though he tries to undersell it (him telling Amane he's not that smart, but showing his observation skills and deductions during his vds etc) + him being the physically strongest prisoner. Kotoko also mentions being the most curious about him in a T1 interro answer.
His chess piece looks like a rook; in chess they’re really powerful pieces that shine best at the end of a match when there aren’t a lot of pieces left on the board.
-Muu is the second tallest along with Shidou. Her placement could be because of her ability to sway people to her side/her charisma (how she blackmailed Es thanks to Haruka’s devotion to her etc).
Her chess piece looks like a queen imo. It's pretty well known, but it's the strongest piece in chess. References to her character motif aside, it’s fitting for her with the potential she has influencing important events in the prison (here it's Haruka’s actions, but maybe there'd be more in if routes).
-Shidou is second tallest alongside Muu. It's not surprising with his ability to heal the others as a doctor. He's also a reassuring presence in the presence with his calm attitude even in difficult situations.
I think his chess piece looks like a king. It's the most important piece in chess, since if it gets captured then the game ends. It's also not really strong by itself, usually it's best to keep it hidden safely. It fits Shidou’s situation imo, he's really important for the other prisoners thanks to his healing, but if he were to die, then the prisoners’ would be left on their own if they got hurt, plus Mahiru especially wouldn't be able to get her treatment anymore.
-Yuno is the third tallest piece. She might not be physically strong like Kazui but she's very observant and intelligent so it makes sense imo.
Her piece is a pawn from the looks of it. It's interesting how Kotoko seems to acknowledge her skills but at the same time views her as the weakest piece in the game. It might be because, while she's smart and has a good read on the prisoners, in the end she's just a spectator in Kotoko’s eyes.
-Mahiru is the fourth tallest. In Kotoko's listing she's around the middle. From my understanding, while Mahiru is in a weakened state at the moment, Kotoko still is impressed by her resilience and ability to empathize with others (Kotoko included like we see in Mahiru’s T2 vd). If the chess pieces' height ranking represents the prisoners' danger potential, then Mahiru's placement is a little weird since she wouldn't hurt a fly (it's true for other prisoners too). Maybe Kotoko sees Mahiru's mental strength as valuable in its own way (since Kotoko couldn't make her change her mind on her view on love even after beating her up etc).
Her piece is a bishop from the way I see it. It's a pretty good piece for the whole game, especially when paired with another to capture enemy pieces. It could refer to Mahiru's positive attitude and its effects on the other prisoners.
-Mikoto is the fifth tallest (with Fuuta). Interestingly, there are three rectangles on top of the piece, probably to represent Mikoto and the other alters. Kotoko seems to be on to the Trikoto theory, which is pretty impressive since she doesn't have as much background on Mikoto as the viewers (though she does mention having “prior knowledge” on the prisoners). He's pretty low in Kotoko's ranking which is kinda sad with how much Mikoto tries to befriend her.
His (and John+ Midokoto’s) piece seems to be a rook. It's ironic how it's such a strong piece, yet Mikoto is ranked around the end. It might be a reference to how Mikoto himself is pretty average in intellect and strength, but John is very strong and Midokoto's abilities are unknown at the moment.
-Fuuta’s chess piece is the fifth tallest with Mikoto’s. It's not surprising with how much Kotoko looks down on him: even though they both hate injustice, Kotoko sees herself as a strong vigilante and Fuuta as a coward and “lame”.
He's also not particularly observant or intelligent (as seen in his tl convo with Kotoko about prisoners' human rights etc), though he's not stupid either.
His chess piece seems to be a bishop like Mahiru. It's interesting how Kotoko doesn't see him as a pawn despite her low opinion of him as seen by his ranking. One could compare his ranking to Yuno’s, who’s ranked high but has a weak piece, and how Fuuta is ranked low but has a decent piece. No idea what Kotoko's train of thought was here, but it's food for thought. Maybe she does see some potential in Fuuta (through their shared views on justice?), though ultimately she sees him as unthreatening.
-Haruka has the second shortest chess piece. I'm guessing Kotoko sees him as unthreatening and nothing more, plus there's her derogatory comments towards him in deep cover.
His piece is a pawn, which goes in hand with Kotoko's ranking of him. She really seems to have a negative opinion on him, though she does praise his train of thoughts in that infamous tl conversation.
-Amane has the shortest piece. Kotoko probably looks down on her because she's a child, though it's true that even though Amane is smart for her age, she's still not going to be as intelligent as Yuno or Kazui.
It's funny how her piece looks like a pawn with a bishop hat on it. Maybe it suggests Amane tries to make herself seem more intimidating than she is (even though she's a “pawn”, she tries to make herself more threatening than in reality (in Kotoko's eyes)).
If you have a different reading on the chess symbolism I'd love to hear it! It's pretty subjective after all in the end.
Edit: people are saying a lot of cool things in the tags, thanks for sharing your thoughts! An observation that came up twice was how the pawns might be weak, but also have potential to turn into any piece they want (if they reach the end of the board), usually the queen. And when looking at the prisoners who have the pawn as their piece, it's true that they have hidden potential (Haruka with his plan, Amane with her influence on Fuuta + beef with Shidou, Yuno with her read on the situation in the prison + helping Shidou with healing Mahiru,...). So maybe Kotoko acknowledges this part of them too…

Hmmm, any headcanons for twst boys in nebula college? Saw your drawing of Lilia in the Dragon house and it opened up a whole avenue of possibilities for me :3
Omg Anon!! Yeah, this is exactly what happened to us when I was drawing it, well not this exact sketch, but the one similar to that. The realisation that Nebula College is already thought out enough to have a crossover of sorts really hits hard lol So ironically, we did end up discussing which houses the twst characters would be in. And now you’ve given us the opportunity to share those thoughts, so thank you so much for your ask and for your interest <3
For those who don’t know: Nebula College is a project that Katsu writes (and I illustrate)! Katsu also wrote a post about the cast of Nebula College in NRC a couple of months ago, so it’s only fair to link it in this post >:3 Also, here is the description of all the houses and what they represent.
Riddle – the Dragon house; it’s debatable whether Riddle’s love for discipline and rules is something that is natural to him and not just his trauma lol but he would fit perfectly there: “organised, yet impulsive and loud” sounds like the most Riddle thing ever. He would be great at patrolling the school, plus he is technically a sporty boy.
Ace – the Snake house; the other option was the Unicorn house, and he would really prefer the latter because he would be super excited to be surrounded by rich and dazzling senpais spoiling him for being such an adorable charmer. The boy can dream all he wants, but he is destined to be a Snake because of his slyness and opportunism.
Deuce – the Dragon house, and he would probably be so honored. He would always do his best during the patrols… And also think about how being surrounded by reliable and organised people should be a good influence on him.
Trey – the Snake house; Katsu made two notes about him: the first one “asshole/knave I mean snake”, and the second one is “he’s a boa snake wearing glasses”. I think it describes Trey perfectly: he really is like a large calm and collected boa (the image of a boa snake in glasses is related to some of the cartoons we used to watch as kids lol), but at the same time the man is a liar and a hypocrite, he would fit right in with those fake bitches lol Even though he would probably consider himself a Dragon.
Cater – the Snake house; he is similar to Ace in a way, and I can picture him trying to befriend some of the Unicorns and maybe even succeeding at that, but ultimately he is kind of a poser. He is very good at communicating, but he is even better at knowing things about other people.
Leona – the Unicorn house; he is a prince, so it’s kind of a given. Falena probably graduated from this house as well, so Leona thinks that him being there is kind of a joke; it’s obvious that they people compare them all the time… but hey, at least the Unicorn colours look good on him.
Ruggie – the Snake house, this one is easy lol He also probably hangs out close to the Unicorns (this isn’t how Snakes usually act, it’s just the NRC Snakes are fucking leeches I guess), but that’s because he runs errands for Leona, to whom it’s much easier to talk to Ruggie than to fellow Unicorns.
Jack – the Dragon house; he would probably have a good time there surrounded by those who aren’t just as sporty as him, but also as responsible and earnest. Damn, Deuce would be his dormmate instead of Ace’s 😳
The Octa-Trio are from the Snake house; there are some meta reasons for that, but also it’s just pretty obvious come on look at these lying bitches lol They are everything a Snake should be: smart, cunning, sociable when necessary, great at making connections and getting information, they’re also good at business and stuff. Azul would probably advocate for connecting with other dorms more though, and Jade would be intrigued by others too. Floyd probably doesn’t really care which dorm he is in, but don’t get fooled: he is one terrifying and dangerous snake…
Kalim – the Unicorn house! Nothing to add here, he is just there. People think he is a good-for-nothing princely type, but he is actually surprisingly good at communication. He is probably well-liked by everyone there.
Jamil – the Snake house, at least until Kalim enrolls and somehow Jamil gets transferred to the Unicorn house for some reason. He would hate it though because he really felt at home surrounded by Snakes, and now… now he is surrounded by Kalim-adjacent people who are amused by the fact that Kalim managed to get his servant to live at his dorm….
Vil – the Unicorn house; he has very strong charisma and amazing leadership skills, he is also charming and stubborn at the same time. He probably wasn’t necessarily expecting to end up there, but he fits in perfectly. But he is kind of a Dragon at heart when it comes to discipline and stuff… similarly to how there are some similarities between Pomefiore and Savanaclaw.
Rook – the Dragon house; his demeanor is a bit off, but honestly Rook could pull off being at every single House successfully, and his demeanor would always be off lol Now this is someone who loves patrolling. When it’s his shift, some students probably make a mistake of assuming that if they can’t see the patrolling guy then he isn’t there. But Rook is always watching…
Epel – I’ll quote Katsu on that one: “Epel is an idiot. The Dragon house, his dream came true” lol He shouldn’t get too happy about getting into the sportiest and “manliest” of dorms though because they are super serious about discipline, and no one is going to allow him to look like a hooligan. Brush your hair, Epel.
Idia – the Raven house- WOW, IS THIS OUR FIRST RAVEN? DANG so much for Night Raven College lol but yeah, Idia is definitely a Raven, and this is the only dorm he would survive in: he’s introverted, but very knowledgeable, perceptive and honestly surprisingly good at reading people for someone who hides from them all the time.
Ortho – the Unicorn house; he probably wanted to join Idia just so they could be together, but he is such an obvious charismatic leader when he wants to be. Considering that this is likely human!Ortho, he would also work as a kid from the Shroud family... Idia and him could be a great example of the Unicorn + Raven alliance.
Lilia – the Dragon house; there are some meta-reasons for that as well, but even without that, Lilia is very organisation-oriented, and he would be very comfortable in a structure that is the Dragon house. He is a great leader, but a different kind of leader, a war general, if you will.
Sebek – the Dragon house; pretty self-explanatory, look at this boy.
Silver – the Dragon house, but a Unicorn at heart. Sometimes it feels like he is in the wrong place, but it’s absolutely not because of how he acts: he does everything he is supposed to very diligently and tries very hard to be an honorable Dragon student. It’s just that if he stands near the Unicorns it just feels… right somehow.
Malleus – technically he should be in the Unicorn house, but he we couldn’t decide: he is kind of a mix of Unicorns and Ravens lol He has a lot of charisma and he is a good leader when he needs to be, and he sure as hell knows how to persuade people, but the overall vibes and architecture of the Raven house + their attitude is very close to him…

One early afternoon, on my day off.
I found myself caught up in something unexpected.
(There’s nothing much to do today, so I guess I’ll take the occasional break.)
Rina: Oh, huh?
I chanced upon Sakura and the members of Gem Cuddle standing face to face with serious expressions.
Rina: Is there a reason why everyone is gathered?
Sakura: Oh. Thanks for your hard work, Kawanaga.
Sakura: We were just discussing Nagi’s work matters.
Hitaki: Actually, Nagi received a casting offer to star in a movie.
Rina: A casting offer…!?
Miu: For the lead role in a romance movie.
Nagi’s name was indeed indicated in the proposal.
“An unpopular young dancer becomes a global superstar while earnestly dealing with conflicts in love and friendship”...
The plot seemed to suit Nagi well.
However, Nagi’s facial expression was unexpectedly grim.
Nagi: I can’t act to save my life, no way I’m starring in a movie.
Miu: Geez, you’ve been saying that for a while now! Didn’t take acting lessons?
Miu: It’ll be fine once you get used to it, so just accept the offer.
Nagi: You’re only able to say that because it’s not your business. In the first place, I’m an idol.
Nagi: We have a live performance coming up, I should be spending my time preparing for that.
(Nagi is very passionate about dancing, so it’s understandable he wants to focus on practising for the upcoming live performance).
Sakura: Hmm, I understand how you feel, but…
Sakura muttered with a troubled look.
Sakura: It’s already been decided that Gem Cuddle will sing the theme song for this movie.
Sakura: It would make the fans happy if Nagi were to be chosen as the lead actor, thus giving a boost to the movie’s publicity.
Nagi: …
(Could there be some other reason why he’s being so stubborn?)
That’s what I thought, but I could only watch their discussion from the sidelines.
Miu: Ahh– for good's sake! This is getting nowhere. In any case, Nagi, you should start practising your acting.
Miu: In that case, you'll need motivation. For example, you could do your script reading with her as your partner.
I felt a pat on my shoulder as I heard myself being mentioned all of a sudden.
Rina: W-Why me? I can’t act at all.
Miu: Eh? It’s easier to practise with a partner than alone, you know?
Hitaki: Based on the script, it certainly looks like this character has many interactions with the female lead. That makes Kawanaga a suitable partner for script reading.
(Huh!? Hitaki too.)
Nagi: No, hold on. This will become a bother for her too.
Nagi: Besides, this problem only concerns me. I’m saying that I don't want anything taking my focus away from the live performance.
Hitaki: We’ll support you in that, we’re not going to let you shoulder all the burden yourself.
Hitaki: Why don’t you try doing a round of script reading with her first? I believe it won’t be too late to decide afterwards if you want to accept the casting offer or not.
Sakura: I agree. Once you know the feel of the production, you’ll be able to consider it in a more positive light.
Seeing the hopefulness in Sakura’s facial expression made me feel an urge to lend a hand despite my discomfort.
(I’d be glad if Nagi would accept the offer. In that case…)
Rina: I understand. If I’m really suitable for the task, I’ll do it.
…
Nagi and I moved to the lesson room to do script reading.
(I wonder if Nagi’s upset about being forced into this…)
Nagi: Oi.
Rina: Yes?!
Nagi: … I’m sorry for dragging you into this mess.
Rina: Oh, no… I was just worried that I might’ve disregarded your boundaries.
Rina: I accepted the task, so I’ll do my best to help your acting practice go smoothly.
Nagi responded with an “okay” when I looked up at him with determination.
Nagi: I was too stubborn. I’m going to properly take this challenge, and I’ll be counting on you.
Rina: Sure!
We checked through the script and picked a good scene to practise.
The scene we picked was “the protagonist’s childhood friend, the female protagonist, is complimenting his dancing”.
(This scene involves dancing, which is something Nagi has in common with his character; it seems like a perfect scene for us to practise.)
(But it’s also mentioned that the two protagonists in this scene were “as close as lovers”. That part is kind of embarrassing…)
(T-This weak attitude is no good. I must focus!)
I took a deep breath to calm myself down before turning to face Nagi.
… And so, we started acting.
Rina: The dance moves you just did were amazing! My heart was racing while watching you.
Nagi: That’s what you say every time, but there’s still a part of the choreography I’m not satisfied with.
Rina: You’re so attentive to details. But perhaps all that practising is what made you who you are today.
(... What’s this? The topic is dance, so it feels like I’m saying all that to Nagi himself.)
(Maybe that’s why I can recite my lines with ease?)
Nagi appeared calm as well, responding naturally with his character’s lines.
(This should go well without problems if we keep this up…)
Nagi: Goodness, look at you saying such things without a hint of embarrassment. However…
Nagi suddenly leaned forward and reached towards me.
(Huh?)
The thoughts flying through my head stopped the instant he moved closer, and I felt his warm and large hand gently stroke my hair.
(H-He’s… acting out the movements described in the script.)
My heart was hammering against my chest from the sudden contact.
I couldn’t peel my eyes off Nagi’s beautiful face that was right before my eyes.
Nagi: Your words never fail to cheer me up.
Nagi: That’s why, I’ve been thinking of giving you something in return.
Nagi: I wanted to tell you this in a cool way, but… at the end of the day, I really just want to be by your side.
(... Hm? There was an odd pause just now.)
Nagi: Can I stay by your side forever? Because then…
Nagi: …
Nagi: … Damn. I can’t bring myself to continue.
Nagi muttered as he moved away from me and sighed.
Rina: What’s wrong all of a sudden?
(His acting was going well so far. But… was that strange pause I noticed just now not my imagination?)
Rina: Um… to an amateur like me, I think your acting was very natural.
Rina: Even so, do you perhaps still feel uncomfortable with acting?
Nagi seemed to be deep in thought for a moment, before he slowly spoke in response.
Nagi: … I’ll be honest. The thing I dislike isn't acting itself.
Rina: Really?
Nagi: Yeah. The real reason why I was hesitant to accept the casting offer is—

I FUCKING HATE THE FANDOMIZATION OF CHARACTERS JESUS CHRISTTTTTTTTTTT KILL ME NOWWW ACTUALLY GOINT INSANE. anyway rant over sorry i dont have any friends that have read tlt so i have to resort to going insane on anon
this was a fun surprise to receive. that aside i Do agree with you it seems very much like the nature of fandom to fall into stereotypes and tropes for characters because its easier to make content when there is a type of script to follow + its more effort to always dissect things and rebuild them for every au scenario. alas everything is always nicer when you can make your own little circle of people to discuss with

i think one of the weirder things about my almost half-decade isolation is that i've started to see myself as an audience. whenever i'm not completely in my head, somewhere else, i'm playing for the audience that i've become. i don't know how to just exist. writing this is like watching a movie. this is the scene where the character monologues about how they feel

i know exactly which post you're talking about and i can't find it either! i've raked through my archive, and it's just - nowhere to be seen. i think tumblr eated it (it happens.)
really, tumblr's search functionality is so so useless, i don't know what to tell you. there are plenty of keywords i can search to find it that post, but the search functionality actually just does not work!
undiagnosed audhd-addled peter parker, my darling, my light, my life, my everything.
i think peter parker's such an interesting creature to write, because a lot of people will point to a certain behaviour about him and say "this is an autistic thing, right?" but a lot of those behaviours are actually, in my head, tied to certain traumas in peter's life too.
people say "oh, the food thing, peter's a picky eater because he's autistic" and yes, absolutely. but also it's tied to his trauma with his parents.
peter gets overstimulated, and yes, it's an autism thing, but also he was bitten by a radioactive spider and his senses are dialled to 11.
it's a similar case i've found for myself, too – where a lot of friends i have kind of diagnose me because i have autistic traits, but actually - i'm hesitant to claim the label or pursue diagnosis because, actually, i know where these certain behaviours come from, and they come from certain traumas. there are events i can pinpoint in my life and say "yep. that's where this behaviour comes from."
so - i think there's a lot of overlap between trauma and autistic traits. the brain is very complex! i think the reason for that overlap is maybe as simple as the fact that people with autism and people with trauma are both doing the same thing - developing behaviours to protect themselves or soothe themselves. so - i think it's nice to be able to see a character like peter parker, who may or may not be autistic, but recognise behaviours in him and see yourself in him.
people who go undiagnosed for whatever reason - people who are really good at masking - so good, in fact, that they have no idea they might be on the spectrum - everyone and anyone at all can look at peter parker and recognise themselves. because i think we discredit the thought that every single brain does the same thing! develops certain behaviours in order to survive. every brain has that same software - we've just all been faced with different hardships that we need to overcome, and that's were all the differences come in.
autism is a spectrum, i guess - everyone falls into it to some degree. and i think events in your life probably push you along on it. but i don't know, i didn't study brain science. probably what i'm saying is very stupid and uninformed. of course there's brain chemistry involved. but i know people in my life living with autism and certain events in their life have exacerbated certain behaviours or made coping with it a lot more difficult. so maybe trauma is a catalyst.
#a lot of my traits have been exacerbated lately and i remember it was much easier for me before#and some of my friends have said “oh it's because you've been masking too long and now you're facing autistic burnout.”#and that made sense to me i think.#but then i found out about the stress thing. me overproducing stress hormone. and that's a very physical thing.#and that explains why i've been overstimulated more than usual lately. and why everything feels like too much.#and i wonder how many of these traits of mine are going to subside once i have lamar removed#and it makes me wonder a lot of things. and it's so weird how much your brain is tied to your biology.#i wonder how much i'll change. i wonder how i'll feel. i wonder if i'll still feel like me. i wonder how much me is me right now.#and how much of me is being altered by weird freaky hormones. who am i?? who will i be??#i'm almost looking at this as like. a superhero origin story of some sort. like this is my spider-bite moment. maybe.#will i be different? will i cope with things differently?? now that my body isn't fighting something anymore??#maybe i'll be normal. i don't know. i don't know.#i don't know what it'll mean for me.#but all of these things mean i relate to peter parker in a certain kind of way#i don't think you have to be diagnosed with autism to recognise and empathise with those traits i think#i think everyone can see themselves in peter. and i think that's the benefit of having characters that aren't diagnosed.#because there's so much overlap in the human experience. and certain feelings aren't exclusive to just one group of people.#peter has such a rich identity actually. it's an autistic thing. it's a queer thing. it's a jewish thing. it's a trauma thing.#there are so many overlapping parts of peter's identity that inform who he is and how he behaves and it's never just one thing.#it's a product of all of his things.#just like me! just like everyone.#so me? i guess i can be a million things. you can explain what i am in a million different ways.#a hundred different psychologists can all come up with different ways to explain why i be the way i be.#i don't think it's something that can be simplified.#sorry wow. i'm really going off here in the tags.#i hope people don't think i'm stupid. i don't know brain science. i'm just philosophising as usual.#sci speaks

Thinking about which Sonic characters struggle in social situations and coming to the realization that it's the majority (if not all) of the cast.

Espio.#like just look at TMOSTH#it might just be easier to make a list of characters who DONT struggle in social situations#text#rambles#i know that a lot of it is: a) miscommunication is an issue that is universal and b) used a LOT in sonic stories for moving plot#e.g. any knuckles vs sonic fight#i guess its the particular way a lot of characters in sonic struggle with communicating due to not fitting in with societal norms#or not being raised with the tools to do so#actually wait no a lot of it is due to isolation. ex: knuckles. tails. blaze. shadow. silver. surge & kit. whisper.#this all ties into sth's themes of needing community and support and reliance on others (your friends are here to help etc. etc.)#but its interesting to think about!#saying a lot of something in these tags. dont have the brainspace to make it into a fully sourced coherent discussion (yet)

why does it feel like the mcu is trying so hard to cash in on making villains 'morally grey' because ancient artifacts/beings of power are influencing them (Wanda/the darkhold/Wenwu/the dweller in darkness/Gorr/the necrosword) but is also on-purpose side-stepping the OG Loki who was being affected by the mind stone in Avengers 1
