Bangtan weekly report.

On the Street on first listen/MV watch did not make me warm and fuzzy. It was melancholy, it made me sad.

Watching it again and again, some of the imagery is hard to interpret, like the small sidewalk memorial off to the side with the yellow and white flowers.

But some of the other imagery was definitely obvious. The child representing Army (again). The location: Bowery Station.

The MV was not as dancey as I thought it would be. But since the moment I learned that J. Cole would be part of this I knew this was one of those full circle moments for Hobi.

He preceded the premiere of the MV with a Weverse live on the banks of the Han River in Seoul. Walking around in public doing a live... we’ve come a long way people... I bet there was at least one security guy hovering out of the shot... hiding in the tall grass... somewhere nearby.

Other developments this past week:

When I said “Instagram is going to go silent for a while unless JK wipes his feed again” I didn’t mean wipe it and then delete it, you big dork!!!! Be furrrrrrreallllll.

The estimated “value” of JK’s instagram followers was $50 million USD. All those potential partnership companies gagged and choked.

Jungkook informed fans of his withdrawal from Instagram which had as many followers as South Korea's total population: 52.4 million. It was estimated the value of one posting for Jungkook would have exceeded 1 billion won or almost $766,000 USD. His account value would have been in the tens of billions of won.

Okay, Kookie... just keep doing you. I love you anyway.

In other news (unfortunately):

So, if the Korail employee knows private information such as addresses and such (scary and mind-boggling)... Namjoon would have no choice but to reveal information before anyone else has a chance to do it and incur any more damage to his reputation or compromise the information for anyone he knows if that’s the type of info they had access to. In other words, don’t be surprised when Namjoon reveals personal info before anyone else has a chance to do it.

I hope it is plain to see why Jimin doesn’t even let us know what color his walls are or to understand why Jungkook may have left Instagram. There is too much chance of anyone figuring out information just from being able to identify objects and things in photos. Who knows what other private info of theirs is already breached and in the hands of nefarious people.

It is so concerning to me that I even question when Jungkook gives us details about the amenities at Bam’s new training place. DON’T TELL US!

The Tiffany & Co. ambassadorship... and the dollars keep rolling in for our precious little 21st Century Pop Icon who is just our goofy friend in sweatpants who loves soju.

We all noticed Jimin seemed to be “naked” when he attended the Dior menswear show back in January. When I say naked, I mean he wasn’t wearing a single piece of jewelry. We know this man loves him some bangly bangles and dangly earrings and spangly necklaces. He never goes anywhere without his signature hoop earrings on so we all felt something was missing.

And now we know he had this Tiffany deal up his sleeve. Seems like he was cleansing himself of jewelry. Starting fresh by being jewelry free in front of millions of eyes just so he could follow up with a jewelry refresh. Jimin will have Tiffany’s classic and polished pieces flying out of jewelry stores. Get ready for the Jimin effect. I hope they manufactured enough to satisfy demand. I can’t wait for the knock-offs so I can afford to wear a few look-alikes.

Busan Expo update video. Filmed last October or November?

Inside Mang made me tear up. Their little virtual Mang interacting with Hobi was the sweetest thing. We will get a “real” Mang reveal soon!! Everything Hobi does is so well thought out. His attention to detail is astounding. I suppose Mang might serve a similar role that Wootteo did for Jin... (weeps).

And Jimin on Insta and Weverse trying to catch up on the member’s content HE IS JUST LIKE ME! I CAN’T KEEP UP WITH ALL THE CONTENT EITHER, JIMIN!!!

Jimin is about to slap us in the face with FACE... hold on to your asses we’re about to go for a ride on the Jimin freight train soon.

Illicit Affairs: Beautiful Rooms Pt. 1

Summary: Namjoon arrives in LA to begin the work he promised he would do.

Namjoon lays in his plane-bed, headphones blasting D-2, Daechwita, on a blind loop. The sky is dark, 30,000+ feet in the air, he knows he should be sleeping, resting at the bare minimum. But he can’t, melatonin not kicking in just yet, and his mind is too wired, filled with concerns.

Over a two months ago, after the reckoning, Namjoon put his plans into action. You can’t take managements King, and Queen, and bishops and rooks, without having a plan for total annihilation. Namjoon decided, though without much discussion with Jungkook, what they both needed. What would be the best for both of them, and the rest of Bangtan, was guarantees in their contracts that Bang and Co wouldn’t manipulate them anymore. No more calorie counting, no more extra pay for working out more, no more using Namjoon as a weapon against Jungkook or the others. To do this, Namjoon brought in other lawyers who negotiated with Bang’s team, and in the end the seven men amended their contracts. Gone were the clauses about who they could date, gone was the clause that they couldn’t date, period, gone was Run BTS and the trickery management went through to get the men to perform. They would have ownership of their work going forward, and ownership of their work all the way back to the first Love Yourself album.

Taehyung, Jimin, Hoseok, Yoongi and Jin were shocked when their contracts were handed back, careful to read through the changes. They’d been floored, wondering how Namjoon and Jungkook’s brawl could’ve resulted in this swift change in their deals. Namjoon had put it simply: change or we sue. Big Hit knew that if BTS sued them, they’d take the house, the plastic plants in the lobby, the stock options and the futures of every person on the label. They had the option to lose everything, or to surrender, tails between their legs, to the gods that are BTS.

Namjoon knew that if this had happened three months prior, even two years, he wouldn’t have had the weight needed to push the deal through. But, in their decade plus at Big Hit, their level of power and influence, the fact that they had never signed NDA’s coupled with Namjoon’s intricate diaries, Namjoon recognized he had the power to take everything. Bang and Sejin were scared. They knew that they had a limited amount of time before BTS revolted, and if they were revolting with evidence, there was no possible solution that ended in Big Hit’s favor.

With their new contracts came one request from Bang, Sejin and the five other members of Bangtan, one request that was truly a demand: fix Jungkook and Namjoon.

Fixing Jungkook meant fixing Namjoon’s relationship to the maknae, which is how he finds himself flying across the globe to LA. Getting Jungkook help, away from prying eyes, was his idea. He and his love had brainstormed what would help Jungkook get through this, and this was the solution:

Jungkook would spend 3-6 months in LA undergoing rigorous outpatient therapy

Jungkook would be booked for exhaustion, body dysmorphia, alcoholism, and a host of other issues Namjoon could’ve spent his entire flight listing

Jungkook would rehearse in LA and fly back for specific stages but would otherwise record and work in LA while he went to therapy five days a week

Detox would come first, followed by a month of inpatient treatment

Then, Jungkook would be settled in his outpatient apartment, with a few Big Hit bodyguards around 24/7

Jungkook would have a sponsor in Korea and in the states, whom he reported to,

Jungkook is required to attend AA meetings twice a week for the first three months

Namjoon, would attend therapy twice a week in Korea,

Namjoon would fly to LA to spend a month going through treatment with Jungkook

To this, they signed their names, to the promise of something better, to the hope they would find common ground. Jungkook was packed and on a plane 48 hours later. The two men had some contact through music and through their group chat, but otherwise, Jungkook kept to himself. He loved LA, the sun, the ability to exercise outside every day of the week, the blue skies… There was a level of health that came with LA, and of course the seedy underbelly of diet culture, but for Jungkook, it was a welcome change. Everyone breathed in LA, they weren’t rushing to meet deadlines or get anywhere on time, they didn’t have the next five years planned on a detailed spreadsheet. LA was relaxed, it was breezy, and with its endless supply of green juice, it was the exact place Jungkook needed to be.

He diligently went to therapy, working exclusively with Dr. Aarons on the years of abuse he’d endured. Wrapping his mind around what had happened to him, not as love, not as building his character or strengthening his work ethic, but as a traumatic state of emotional abuse, was harder to swallow than two horse tranquilizers without water. Dr. Aarons gave him books and pamphlets on trauma and emotional abuse, which in his off hours, he read. His first month in treatment was spent in therapy sessions, a weekly Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) session, monitored exercise to help reteach him how to use his body, and reading to discuss. Some days felt like high school, or training days, when he was required to both train for debut and be a high school student. He hated it, hated studying, hated school, but to get better he had to do the work. All he could hope was at the end of this he’d feel better, maybe he'd be better too.

Dr. Aaron’s agreed, for the two men to make progress, to find common ground again, they needed to work through their Kilimanjaro sized problems.

A month into treatment, Jungkook was ready and willing to begin working on repairing his most treasured relationship.

“Namjoon, thank you for joining us here,” Dr. Aarons says, eyes darting between Jungkook, who was freshly showered and bouncing his leg up and down, and Namjoon, stoic, perched on the edge of his chair. Dr. Aarons can tell that Namjoon is less prepared than Jungkook, which is why she is in full control of this session.

“It’s, yeah, glad to be here,” Namjoon says, head bowing.

“I am first generation and am fluent in both English and Korean. My maiden name is Park,” Dr. Aarons smiles, letting Namjoon into her stratification of both cultures. “We can flow from English to Korean at any point.”

“Thank you,” Namjoon bows again.

“This first session is just to create a welcoming and safe space for Jungkook to see you again. Soon he will be off, and you and I will have a bit of time to talk. I have been in communication with your therapist back in Seoul, and he has given me his thoughts as well as points that we can continue to work on as a triad. Jungkook, is there something you wanted to say to Namjoon before you go?”

Jungkook looks at his brother, irises rising to meet his sun-twin. Namjoon’s eyes are tired, heavy, his lids weighty as he continues to battle some jetlag. Jungkook looks fucking fantastic, the sun and balanced eating working wonders on him.

“Thank you, hyung, for being here, and thank you for being willing to work on this with me. I still hold love for you in my heart, though I don’t have to. We’ve both fucked up. I am sorry for punching you, well, beating you up, and I hope you can forgive me, if not today, at some point. And again, thank you, hyung, for fighting for me,” Jungkook’s voice breaks as he utters his last words, eyes dropping to his hands.

“Jungkook, you did great,” Dr. Aarons reassures.

“Thank you, Jungkookie, for being, forgiving, for still wanting to speak to me, to work with me, it,” Namjoon clears his throat, that familiar lump forming. “I know I let you down. I will always be sorry,”

“I know, me too,”

“Jungkook, thank you for being here today. I will see you tomorrow for our first session as a group.” Dr. Aaron’s gave the go-ahead for Jungkook to leave, and he did swiftly, giving Namjoon the chance to confide in Dr. Aarons.

“Thank you, for doing this,” Namjoon spoke.

“This was your idea, correct? The therapy, detox, all of it?”

“Yes,” Namjoon feels the blood rush to his cheeks.

“From what I understand, you’re kind of a genius, right?”

“In music, I suppose,”

Reaching for her notepad, Dr. Aarons’ glances down. “Mm, I spoke with Dr. Cho,”

“Yes?”

“He was very insightful, gave me lots of great notes and things to discuss. I wanted to start by saying that I understand the levels of abuse you went through,” She raises her head to meet his unsteady gaze, clocking the flustered expression.

“Yes,”

“The manipulation, the invalidation, the pain. Namjoon, no one should have to experience all of that, and yet, here you are. You are strong, you are powerful, you are dedicated to your brothers. None of it excuses what you have done, but what I want to convey to you, is that a lot of your actions were not your fault.” Dr. Aarons’ runs through the list of compliments she had jotted down, notes of what to say to create a safe space for Namjoon.

“I, I know,”

“I know you do; I also know that isn’t how you see it.” Dr. Aarons’ sets her pen down and recrossed her legs, eyes never straying from him. She’s formidable, honored and esteemed throughout the community, domestically and abroad. Namjoon knew, he helped picked her, she was the reason Jungkook was here.

“I still did the actions,” Namjoon sighs, “I still followed through with the plan,”

“Yes, but the cost to you and your life was exquisite. You were a pawn,”

“Now I am the victor,” He mumbles.

“Tell me, Namjoon, how old did you feel when you and Jungkook fought?”

“What do you mean?”

“Jungkook’s recounted his memory of that night, but how did you feel? In that moment when he hit you, what age specifically did you feel?”

He takes a moment to think, but the answer is in front of him immediately. “Fifteen,”

“What happened at 15?”

He shifts nervously, the rapid speed of his speech slowing as he spoke. “I was still being scouted by Big Hit, no contracts, just negotiations. My parents were, unsupportive.”

“Within the Seoul rap community, you were making a name for yourself,” Dr. Aarons’ didn’t have to be living in Korea at the time to know who he was, everyone in the first gen community who still had any ties back home knew. You couldn’t listen to music without his mixes coming through. “Yeah, but that only gets you so far. I was talking to Bang about these big plans for a super group, a group that combined rapping and pop, some bridge between the two and other genres… the places were going to go seemed endless.”

“How did you feel in those negotiations?”

Joon smiles. “I felt, ten feet tall. I mattered in those meetings,”

“And to your parents?” Dr. Aaron’s questions.

“I was just their high schooler, hormonal, with dreams bigger than my mind could hold. They, they didn’t want me to do it,”

“But you went for it,” She smiles gently.

“I did, yeah,” Namjoon, hates flattery. Call it his sun sensibility, his rays unable to shine under the humility of the grey cloud he kept above himself.

“What else happened around that time?” She presses.

Namjoon nods again, knowing exactly where she’s leading him. “That’s when I started receiving a lot of hate,”

“Mm, tell me about that,”

“Do I have to?” He asks, voice no longer strong and steady.

“Not if you don’t want to,” She replies.

“It’s just,” Namjoon sighs. “It still hurts.”

“I expect it to. The comments were very personal,”

“About how I look, about the shape of my nose, the sound of my voice, that I’ll never amount to anything and BTS is just, complete trash passing off as music.” He rattles off the ones that plague him, when self-doubt creeps in, the comments that still rise to the top of the pack.

“They escalated, didn’t they?”

“Don’t they always?”

She smiles softly, a precursor to the next blow. “Did you internalize them?”

“Yes,”

“When Jungkook hit you,” She starts.

“It was like every internet troll finally getting their chance to swing,” Namjoon doesn’t hesitate to finish the thought.

“Ahh, there it is.” Dr. Aaron’s allows Namjoon a minute to sit in the realization. “What hurt the most? The physical pain, or the emotional weight you put behind it?”

“I haven’t thought about it like that,” He realizes.

“Well let’s think about it now,” Her voice is kind, leading him to the pasture but never feeding. No wonder everyone raved about her.

“It was the emotions,” He concedes.

“Can you describe what those emotions were?”

“Anger, frustration, inadequacy, disappointment, like I had just shattered the entire world I’d given every bit of myself to creating.”

“That wasn’t why Jungkook was hitting you, though,” Dr. Aarons’ informs him.

“It wasn’t?”

“You tell me, why would he be hitting you?”

“I,” Namjoon exhales, “I betrayed him.”

“Did you let him down?”

“Yes,”

“But did he view you as inadequate?” She pushes.

“No,” Namjoon whispers, voice caught between his vocal chords as the waves of tears start to gain on him.

Dr. Aarons’ smiles again, “No, has he ever?”

“No,” Namjoon shakes his head, hand wiping the tears that have fallen.

“It seems to me like it’s quite the opposite. Jungkook loves you, pure and simple.”

“I betrayed him,” Namjoon argues.

“Betrayal and inadequacy are often put together, at least in our minds. We betray someone, or a relationship, because it’s either not enough for us, or because it’s too much. The dissonance between you and Jungkook is that his anger is misplaced, he can claw at you because you are there, you are present, you are with him every day. He’s shooting the messenger, but you didn’t write the messages, Namjoon.”

“I don’t know if he understands that,”

“There’s only so much I can do to separate what he feels towards you, and what he realizes isn’t your fault. In our time together, as a trio, we will hopefully work towards understanding these complexities within your relationship. Sound good?”

“Yeah, sounds good,”

“Great! I don’t have any work for you, other than, well, a major piece of homework,”

“Bring it on,” Namjoon loves work. Pure and simple.

“You can’t have dinner with Jungkook tonight, or engage with him in a private setting,” Dr. Aarons’ instructs.

“Makes sense,” Namjoon agrees.

“We’ll begin work on it tomorrow, but until then, you have to stay apart,”

“I can do that, we’re staying in separate places,”

“Great, Namjoon, I am really looking forward to working with you,” Dr. Aarons stands. “I hope you enjoy your day in LA,”

“See you tomorrow,” Namjoon smiles gratefully before exiting her office, his phone at the ready, texts from Yoongi and Hoseok, Taehyung and the rest of Bangtan to check in on him. And then there’s the text from his love, who as he steps into the sun, is waiting for him.

“Joon of my eye, what a pleasure it is to see you,”

Though the smile is clearly plastered across his face, it’s the way his arms circle your waist, head nuzzling into your neck, lips pressing firmly to your skin.

“I fucking missed you,” He mutters.

“You’re being so affectionate, in public,”

“No one’s here,” Namjoon says, head still resting against your shoulder.

“That eye opening, huh?” Your hands move up and down his back, the comfort radiating from your familiar embrace.

“Mm, can we go?” He asks, standing to his full height.

“To your place?”

“Anywhere,” He slips his sunglasses over his eyes, the mist beginning to cloud his vision.

“Of course,” You respond, hand finding his, fingers intertwining. With his baseball cap pulled low on his head, Namjoon is barely recognizable. He doesn’t hesitate to move his free hand across your shoulders, holding onto you as you guide him to your rental car. He might’ve been the messenger of Bang’s threats and manipulations, but a pawn is still a pawn. Namjoon had taken the board in his game against Big Hit, but in Jungkook’s universe, under Jungkook’s rules, he’s still a piece in motion.

KIM SEOKJIN

━━━ The President! Having the much desired place as your best friend, Jin is the respected President of the “writing” club. But, with the President comes rules, and these rules Jin has created are strict, almost cruel. The one defining rule is, under no circumstances, is anyone allowed to speak to Y/N… Ever. Due to his possessive behavior, Jin never favored the idea of letting these dogs bark and yap around you, so, creating this rule did him a genuine favor. The look on their faces when he announced this rule was hysterical, too (Jimin broke into tears right then and there, Namjoon nearly broke a chair, and Yoongi almost collapsed). As much as the members despise this rule, as well as despising Jin, they must respect him. Any rule broken could bring you to serious, serious consequences.

“Hoseok, if you continue to chirp at me over your time with a single sweater, I’ll have to give you a strike. Don’t test my patience…”

MIN YOONGI

━━━ Club Secretary! With this role, Yoongi has the responsibility to run errands of certain sort, takes notes during meetings and assist to the members needs. As the boys crowd into the café he works at, he makes Namjoon his coffee and Jimin his hot chocolate with one too many sugars included. These notes Yoongi is required to take usually consist of doodles to distract himself from the pit in his stomach when Jin talks about his weekend with you or actual, useful information of facts littered here in there in his rival’s speech. He runs errands to retrieve film after Taehyung had ran out and first aid material when Jungkook bruises and breaks skin on his fists after one of his many temper tantrums. Yoongi fucking despises catering to the members, but if it’s for you, he’d drag himself through hell and crawl back.

“Jimin, we’re gonna run out of stock if you keep fucking hogging the sugars! God… HEY! Don’t touch my notepad! That’s for my eyes only, Jin… I-I’ll send you the weekly report later tomorrow, just don’t invade my privacy, you dick…”

JUNG HOSEOK

━━━ Event Planner! As Hoseok and Jimin are very good friends, they have both been given the responsibility of setting up events. The two boys brainstorm activities for the club, such as quizzes, games, training, studying, but, once in a while they both get distracted and spend the rest of the evening gushing and gawking over your beauty, your soul and small scenarios they create in their head that they blush over at night. But, after Hoseok finally get over his disturbances, he loves to set up events out at parks or in cafés, but, all of the meeting mostly take place in the empty auditorium hours after the drama club has left. When he was first assigned the role as Event Planner, Hoseok once was given full privileges of deciding where locations of their meeting, but lost them when he retrieved the coordinates to your house and Jin caught him lurking in the woods while you and him were watching a movie. Hoseok doesn’t like to speak of that incident, though.

“Ok, ok, ok! We have to focus now…! Oh, god, I just thought about it again! Stop it, Jimin! My heart’s too weak for this!”

KIM NAMJOON

━━━ Financial Manager! With his family’s wealth, Namjoon could buy Taehyung all the cameras he ever desired and Jungkook enough weapons to put him through a war. The idea of spoiling these members wasn’t at all attracting, no! The money in Namjoon’s pocket is practically pleading to be spent on you only, not these lowlives who are deluded enough to think they could possibly have a chance with you. Informing his parents about funding his “after-school club” was easy, as his parents don’t pay attention to their son. Snatching a few bucks from his father wouldn’t do any harm as the man had too much money to even notice a decrease, anyway. Namjoon is smart with his money, too. He won’t waste his money on that ridiculously expensive suit Taehyung wanted to show off to you or that pair of shoes Yoongi wanted to gift you after he heard you gawking over them. The money is strictly only used for the club and… appropriate items.

“Jungkook, I can’t just buy you a Lamborghini, are you deranged!? I don’t care if you want to show off to Y/N, it’s not happening…! My father would go ballistic…”

PARK JIMIN

━━━ Mission Manager! Although his missions can be a bit… childish, the plans can be creative in specific scenarios. From quizzes and activities which come with grand prizes (such as blankets, plushies, more sweaters) to full-on mafia eliminations (like that teacher that Hoseok saw scolding you or that blonde Yoongi saw ranting about her hatred for you). But, the most grand mission is at the very end of the school year. Ace a quiz containing information from the following year about dear Y/N and join the President and Vice President as they tour you around Y/N’ home. Yes! While you spend the day boring yourself to death with textbooks, one lucky member will get to spend the remaining school hours in your bedroom. Sweet Jimin is desperate to get a good grade on this quiz. Wish him luck!

“I-I-I don’t understand! The idea isn’t bad! If we’re quiet, we can totally steal their cat… It takes up too much of their attention, anyway!”

KIM TAEHYUNG

━━━ Vice President! With an extra pair of eyes on your form and nearly a million pictures taken of your day-to-day life, Taehyung nearly knows about you as much of Jin. All of them (especially Jimin on a daily basis) beg and plead for even the smallest hint of how your night was spent. Even from just the simplest of things such as rotting your brain on films or fiddling on your phone till the AM, the members still swoon at the mere mention of you. Taehyung holds privilege of being the Vice President, as he has earned the respected place as Jin’s friend, meaning that one day, Jin could possibly let him hang out with you. The idea is infatuating! The others stare in poorly-hidden envy when Jin, as President, talks about the possibility of letting him see you face-to-face, as it was against club rules for the others. They pray of one day being in his position, but, that’s what you earn as Vice President!

“Yoongi, if you keep trying to smuggle Y/N’s sweatshirts, I’m required to report you to Jin. Remember, three strikes, you’re out! I wouldn’t get on my bad side, if I were you…”

JEON JUNGKOOK

━━━ Security Manager! This gym rat surely has the muscles to protect the members as well as the almighty Y/N. Even though they have Jungkook’s posture as an intimidation factor, outsiders have stepped over the line once or twice and left with bruises and bloody noses (including Taehyung, but, we don’t speak of that). He’s also quite protective of the items he’s “borrowed” from you that are now in his possesion, only letting the rest of the members have a couple seconds touching your stolen hairbrush or sweater that reeks of your sugary-sweet musk. Although his jealousy does bleed through the bandaids at times, he does intend on protecting the members and the club, but, most importantly, he intends on protecting Y/N and making sure no one brings them to any harm. Y/N always comes first, as he says.

“Aye! You’ve had your turn, Namjoon! Let me see the pencil… HEY! You can’t touch that sweater, Jimin! I got it first…”

“Awfully comfortable aren’t we?”

The sound of Joshua’s voice woke Jihoon up from his slumber.

“What are you talking about?” he asked tiredly rubbed his eyes. It took him a few moments to realize that you were still sleeping on his chest. Those pain medications were definitely doing their job since you didn’t even flinch when Jihoon carried you into the guest bedroom and tucked you in.

Closing the door, he turned to face Joshua who was sitting on the couch waiting for an answer.

“We settled in and started watching a movie.” Jihoon explained in a simple manner. “The pain came back and she took her prescriptions and they knocked her out.”

Joshua contemplated Jihoon’s words and seemed to accept his explanation and he started talking to Jihoon about the work schedule.

“Cheol’s coming back in two days and Wonwoo and Jeonghan will finish the conference on their own. He said that Y/N has the week off but shouldn’t be alone.”

“That’s fine, I intend on working from home this week anyways.” Jihoon said automatically while looking at his personal calendar on his phone.

Joshua looked up at Jihoon from his own calendar in slight shock. Jihoon never missed a day at the office. He wasn’t a big fan of working from home since he had a tendency to get calls from his assistants every hour or his assistant would go missing for the day since he wasn’t there.

“I don’t have anything urgent this week except to prepare for that client introduction meeting the week after so it’ll be a good time to reorganize my home office.” he continued.

“Are you sure?” Joshua asked. He had no problem with Jihoon working from home for the week since Seungcheol would be back in two days and was sure that he’d be at the office.

Jihoon nodded his head,”Plus, Y/N might need something and the doctor did say someone had to be watching over her. The office will be fine.” he said dismissively.

“Okay then sounds like a plan.” Joshua said and the two boys decided to order dinner just in case you woke up and Jihoon prepared your next set of prescriptions.

Joshua observed how Jihoon took the time to prepare everything for you and going as far as to put the porridge they bought for you in a pot so he could heat it up when you woke up. You didn’t eat much that morning so he was sure that you’d be hungry and he was right.

Joshua found it interesting that Jihoon attended to you in a way that he had never seen before. Jihoon was a person who wouldn’t do anything unless it gave him benefit. When you woke up, Jihoon put the porridge on the stove and prepared a tray for you so you could eat with them in the living room. Since when did Jihoon start caring about you so much?

He then thought back to the first few days when you would go out for lunch together. Towards the end of each meal, you made sure to get take out and he assumed that you were buying dinner for yourself but found it odd that you did it every single day. It wasn’t till the one time he walked into Jihoon’s office to deliver a report that he saw him eating the very same meal you had bought during lunch.

He then confirmed his suspicions when he followed you to your desk one day and saw you put the plastic bag on Jihoon’s desk. Joshua suspected that Jihoon knew that you were leaving the mystery lunches on his desk and this was his way of repaying the favor. He also suspected that there was something more than meets the eye when it came to Jihoon’s feelings for you but he would continue to observe for now.

The first few days living with Jihoon had been slightly awkward but at the same time, the two of you fell into a routine that worked for you. Jihoon would work in his office for a few hours a day and then come out to the living room and join you in whatever you were doing.

You would play games, watch movies or debate over current events. Jihoon had managed to learn quite a lot about you in two days. It seemed that the more comfortable you were, the more open you would be and Jihoon was happy that he was someone that you felt that with.

The day Seungcheol came back, he was at Jihoon’s apartment right away and had to speak with you urgently.

Closing the door to the guest bedroom, you and Seungcheol sat on your bed.

“What did you find out?” you asked in a whisper. What you didn’t know was that Jihoon was on the other side of the door, trying to listen in the conversation. But Seungcheol,who knew Jihoon well responded.

“He doesn’t know that you’re back.”

You were confused, “But then the attack a few days ago…”

“Was a total fluke. The person was hired a long time ago and was determined to complete the job. The police said that you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.” Seungcheol leaned forward and touched your hand, “Don’t worry. My father sent some of his men to watch over your parents and I have men stationed around your apartment. It won’t be long till they find out you’re back.” he sighed but said no more. Jihoon probably had a lot of questions now and he was sure that he was going to have to answer to them. Surprisingly though, it never came. Jihoon had been busy preparing for a major client introductory meeting and planned on confronting Seungcheol after that. He knew that it would keep Seungcheol on his toes at the office. But he was worried about you. Despite acting like everything was okay, he could tell you were on edge about something but didn’t want to ask you about it till he spoke with Seungcheol.

A week later you were finally allowed to return to work and Seungcheol was watching you like a hawk. You knew that you were in potential danger and thanked the heavens that your parents were currently touring various States right now and were on a constant move. You contemplated staying with them in the States but you truly missed Korea and your friends here so ultimately, despite knowing the dangers you came back and took Seungcheol up on his offer that landed you in your current position.

You knew that Jihoon had his client introduction meeting today so you took extra time to get ready so you looked more professional and also to make a good impression on the client. You were still staying with him at his apartment and today he had left earlier so he could go to the office to prepare.

When you got in, you saw that his door was closed which meant he was probably with the client already so you made sure to tidy up your desk. You then started to catch up on the work you missed from the week you were away which was quite a bit. Thankfully Jihoon had gone through your list and labeled his priorities which made your organization much easier.

The click of the door brought you out of your work mode and you stood up when you saw Jihoon walk out holding the door open.

“It was a pleasure to meet you Mr. Min and please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions about the portfolio.” he said as the client’s walked out and instantly you could feel the blood drain from your face.

“Thank you Jihoon and you know it’s Yoongi. I’ve heard good things from Jungkook so I’ll be sure to review the portfolio thoroughly and we’ll set up another meeting soon.” the client said and stopped short as your eyes met. You could see a slight look of shock cross his features but he concealed it quickly with a smile.

“Of course.” Jihoon said with a bow before noticing you. “Oh Y/N, I thought you’d be in this afternoon.” he then turned to Yoongi whose eyes had not left you. “Yoongi, this is my assistant Y/N. Y/N, this is Min Yoongi. He’s a referral from a close friend of ours, Jungkook of Bangtan Corp.”

You eyed Yoongi warily as a smirk made it’s way to his lips, “Long time no see.” he said as Jihoon turned to look at you in shock. You could not believe he just said that. You were prepared deny that you knew him but the look in his eyes told you to do otherwise.

“I apologize, but do you two know each other?” Jihoon’s voice cut through your current staring contest.

Yoongi nodded his head, “Our families run in the same social circle and I’ve had the pleasure of of associating with Ms. Y/N on various occasions.” he licked his lips and you knew the look on his face. You suddenly had a temptation to make an excuse to leave but heard a chime from your cell phone signaling a text from Seungcheol.

SC -Good morning~

Y/N - He knows I’m back.

SC - …….WHAT? WHERE ARE YOU? I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN THE OFFICE TODAY?!

Y/N - I’m at my desk…

“Actually, if you don’t mind Jihoon. I would love to take Y/N out for coffee to catch up.” Yoongi requested turning to face Jihoon, “The last time we saw each other was at her engagement party to Choi Seungcheol years ago.”

Your face paled completely and you shot a look at Yoongi whose smirk seemed to deepen. You looked at Jihoon whose face held complete shock but he quickly masked it up.

“Of course, Y/N, please be back by eleven for the weekly briefing.” Jihoon said with a nod. He had a mission of his own. He needed to talk to Seungcheol.

“Perfect.” Yoongi said and motioned for you to join him.

“Are you sure Mr. Lee?” you asked. “ I did miss a week after all. I should be catching up.”

“No it’s okay.. Enjoy catching up with your old friend.” he said dismissively and walked down the hall towards the other managers offices.

Yoongi then once again turned to look at you with hunger in his eyes, “Shall we?” he asked offering his hand which you refused and made your way to the elevator.

After you pushed the button, you were pulled back as Yoongi whispered in your ear in a stern voice, “I would cooperate with me if I were you.” he sang as his arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer against him. You tried not to outwardly cringe as he nuzzled your neck lightly and chuckled. “This was almost too easy.”

As you exited the building, you weren’t aware certain guardian angels were watching over you and followed you to your new destination.

Meanwhile, Jihoon ran into Seungcheol as he was headed in the opposite direction towards your office area and stopped him halfway.

“Seungcheol, can we speak in my office? It’s very important.”

“Not now JIhoon.” Seungcheol said as if brushing him off and continued on his path causing Jihoon to chase him.

“No, I believe now would be an appropriate time.” Jihoon said sternly as Seungcheol replied.

“I have urgent matters to deal with right now, JIhoon.”

His heart dropped when he saw that your desk area was empty and turned to look at Jihoon.

“Where’s Y/N?” he asked in a voice of authority. The tone catching Jihoon off guard.

“She’s out with a client and will return at eleven. Now I believe we need to have a word.” Jihoon said again and Seungcheol shook his head.

“I need to find Y/N.” Seungcheol said and Jihoon almost yelled but managed to lower his voice.

“When were you going to tell us that you and Y/N were engaged?”

That stopped Seungcheol completely in his tracks and JIhoon motioned to his office. “Shall we?” and Seungcheol reluctantly agreed.

“What are you not telling us.” Jihoon demanded as he leaned against his desk while Seungcheol sat in his desk chair. “What is going on? You’ve been silent since Y/N was attacked and no ones talking about the police investigation and you know I heard your conversation in her bedroom when you came back from the conference.”

“How did you know Y/N and I were engaged?” Seungcheol asked.

“Are you guys?” Jihoon asked with a raised eyebrow and Seungcheol shook his head.

“Formally. We wanted to marry for love.” he said hoping the answer would satisfy him.

“So it was an arranged marriage.”Jihoon stated.

“Something along those lines.” Seungcheol said, “Which client did Y/N go out with?”

“A new client. Min Yoongi. He was referred to us from Jungkook... “ Jihoon said as Seungcheol suddenly got up and ran out of Jihoon’s office.

“Seungcheol?” he followed him as Seungcheol got to the elevator trying to keep his cool. He had one mission right now and it was to find you.

Seungcheol looked down at his phone and saw a text from Jeonghan with an attached photo of you and Yoongi sitting in a booth of one of the higher end coffee shops.

JH - Since when did Min Yoongi associate with those below him? He looks awfully comfortable with Y/N

SC - which cafe

JH - the one one where we take the clients we need to suck up to

SC - got it

Yoongi had placed your orders and ensured to order lunch to prolong his time with you. He could not believe his lucky stars. He had received a photo from a contact showing your arrival back in Seoul and set out to find you. Who knew it would be as easy as running into you at your place of employment as the assistant of a potential business advisor.

“Such a shame you’re wearing pants.” he whispered as his thumb ran circles on your thigh where his hand rested to hold you in place. “Have you...thought about the current offer?”

“My answer still stands.” you stated thanking the waiter who dropped off your drinks. “Why would it change otherwise?”

“Simple, I know that you and Seungcheol broke off your engagement” he said as he squeezed your thigh trying to get a reaction out of you.

“Min Yoongi.” you said in a stern voice and moved his hand away quickly and glared at him.

“Remember when I said to cooperate?” he asked in a low voice his hand going back to your thigh and squeezing it tighter. “You’re fair game now. Just because your mother managed to escape does not mean that you can too. Had she married my father-”

“One of us would not exist.” you said and moved further away from him but the hand that was on your thigh wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer to him. “Min Yoongi behave.”

“I am behaving. Why do you think I got the private booth?” his hand massaged the space between your pants and shirt. “Now, you know our families belong together. Your mother was supposed to marry my father but instead she ran away with that commoner-”

“That commoner is my father and they are very much in love thank you very much.” you snapped and tried to remove his arm from around you with no success making you groan.

“Yea and she lost her family fortune when she went into hiding.” he snickered. “You know that if you aren’t engaged by the end of the year, your grandfather is going to sign the contract that binds our families together.” he scoffed, “I still can’t believe that old man refuses to sign it until your twenty-fifth birthday.”

“And I have every intention of disabling that contract so don’t get your hopes up” you shot as Yoongi laughed.

“By what? Getting engaged to someone in the upper crust in six months? Oh please Y/N, everyone knew that your engagement to Cheol was fake and with my father doing whatever it takes to have our families together.” he reached into his pocket and took out a box.

“How about we spare everyone the headache and just make it official now?” the box opened to reveal a ring that that had a large heart diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.

“Are you crazy?” you snapped at him getting up this time and he glared at you.

“Sit-”

“I’m leaving.” you said grabbing your coat and he grabbed your arm. “I appreciate the coffee and lunch Mr. Min.”

“You are staying.” he said, “You don’t want your boss to lose a client do you?” He challenged and the comment made you shut up. You knew Jihoon had prepared long and hard for this proposal and you suddenly felt yourself sucking up your pride and listening.

Before Yoongi said anything more,a voice rang in your ears.

“Y/N?”

Turning around you were relieved to see Jeonghan and Joshua standing on the other side of the booth.

“Jeonghan, Joshua, what are you guys doing here?” you asked as Yoongi put on a polite smile.

“Brunch meeting.” the two answered simultaneously.

“Taking an early lunch? I didn’t think Jihoon would let you do that.” Jeonghan said as you gave them a tight smile.

“Sorry, where are your manners Y/N?” Yoongi’s voice cut in as he stood. “It’s a pleasure to see you again Jeonghan, Joshua. I hope you don’t mind, I had a meeting with Jihoon and ran into Y/N. We haven’t seen each other in a while so I offered to take her out for lunch to catch up.” he said he shook both their hands.

“Oh...that explains it” Jeonghan said with a nod of his head and noted how uncomfortable you looked, “Well, Y/N, I just got a text from Seungcheol stating that he needs you back at the office regarding an assignment. We’re headed there too so shall we go together?”

“Of course” you said automatically as Joshua met your eye and you knew that something was up, “I am so sorry Yoongi but we’ll have to finish catching up some other time. Once again, thank you for the coffee and lunch.” you said politely with a fake smile.

“Do you mind giving us five minutes to finish up?” Yoongi asked and much to your dismay, Jeonghan and Joshua nodded their heads.

“We’ll meet you outside Y/N” Joshua said as he and Jeonghan went back to their table to finish up.

Pulling you down next to him again, Yoongi nuzzled your neck as you struggled to get away, “Such a shame that our time got cut short.but I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon. Consider my offer Y/N.”

“You know I never will because I-”

“You don't love me. I know I know...but your family holds such a large fortune that I’m sure I can find ways to make you love me.” he said with a wink standing up once he settled the bill.

He pulled you close and kissed the corner of your lips, “You can’t run Y/N...I know where you work.” and with that he was off once he saw something in the distance.

Turning around you saw Seungcheol and Jihoon running towards you and the moment Seungcheol wrapped his arms around you, your body relaxed.

“Are you okay?” he asked noticing the tenseness of your body.

“I’m fine...he’s just as persistent as ever…” you muttered looking in the direction Yoongi went in.

A throat cleared behind you two as Jeonghan, Joshua and Jihoon stood there looking at you expectantly and you let out a sigh knowing that it was time to answer a lot of questions.

Jihoon didn’t know how to feel at the moment. He had so many questions to ask and also saw when Yoongi pulled you to him for a kiss and for some odd reason, it made his blood boil on the inside and he had the urge to wipe away any trace of Yoongi’s hands that were on you but quickly shook that thought away. Why would he be feeling that emotion? He wasn’t into you...was he?

Thinking back to the first week you had met, he had to admit that he was somewhat attracted to you. You were smart and no doubt beautiful but you were also a hard worker too which he found amazing. He liked your sense of humor and how caring you were towards him and the others and he knew that seeing you with Yoongi made him upset.

‘Shit I like Y/N” Jihoon muttered to himself as he heard Joshua snicker beside him.

“About time you admitted it.” he smirked before tuning into the conversation Seungcheol and Jeonghan were having.

“I really think you need to explain things to us. We’ve waited since the night of Y/N’s attack and the two of you have stayed quiet this whole time.” Jeonghan said. “Now how does Y.N know Yoongi and why was he so comfortable around her? Isn’t Y/N from a commoners family?”

“It’s…a long story,,.” you said looking down.

“Let’s go back to my apartment. We have all day.” Jihoon said his tone held finality. He wanted answers and he was going to get them today. He wanted to know everything, the history between you and Yoongi, the story behind your engagement to Seungcheol and more importantly, why was Yoongi so dangerous that Seungcheol dropped everything to get to you?

Intelligence isn’t what people usually notice from celebrities, especially in South Korea where physical appearance is seen as the most important thing that all stars should have. While these celebrities became famous because of their talent in their respective fields as well as their appearances, they also earned respect from the public for being smart. Here are some of the smartest celebrities in Korea who will surprise you with their intelligence.

Bangtan Boys’ Rap Monster

‘ leader Rap Monster isn’t only good in writing deep lyrics. The “Fantastic” rapper has an IQ score of 148 and was in the top 1.3% of the nation in preparatory university entrance exams. He was in the top 1.3% for Math, foreign language and social studies. Rap Monster also scored 900 on the TOEIC exam while he was in middle school.

The “Fire” hitmaker later became a cast member of “Problematic Men”, a variety show on which smart celebrities with impressive academic results are given difficult questions from various fields to answer. Rap Monster managed to grab people’s attention because he always had interesting ways to answer the questions.

Block B’s Park Kyung

Park Kyung of Block B surprised everyone when he revealed that he’s a member of Mensa International, the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. People who score within the top 2% of a standardized test are the only ones who can join the organization. Kyung had to answer 45 questions in 20 minutes, and the results showed that he has an IQ of 156.

The “Inferiority Complex” rapper later joined “Problematic Men” to replace Rap Monster. He proved that he’s indeed a Mensa member by answering a difficult question that not even 100 smart audience members could answer.

Kang Dong Won

Kang Dong Won never fails to amaze fans with his superb acting and handsome face, but those aren’t the only things that make him an admirable person. The “Secret Reunion” star has an IQ of 137 and majored in mechanical engineering in Hanyang University, which is one of the top universities in Korea. He also graduated with honors.

Dong Won was known as a very smart student in middle school, with his teachers saying that he was an exemplary student. “One Night of TV Entertainment” managed to get ahold of his report card and revealed that his grades were mostly As.

EXID’s Hani

Hani of EXID became one of the most popular girlgroup members in Korea because a fancam of hers became viral, but she’s not just a pretty face. She has an impressive IQ score of 145 and scored 900 on the TOEIC exam although she studied by herself for two months. The “Up and Down” hitmaker is also fluent in English and Chinese.

During an appearance on “Weekly Idol”, Hani was given some questions to prove her intelligence. She surprised her groupmates as well as the MC when she could figure out how 7 + 3 = 410 very quickly. When given another question about alphabets, she could answer the question in less than a minute.

Hani also amazed fellow celebrities Nam Joo Hyuk, Kangnam and AOA’s Jimin (II) during an appearance on “I’m Going to School”. The four of them were told to answer some Math questions, and Hani was the only one who could answer it quickly and correctly. She even helped Jimin solve her problems, causing everyone to praise her.

Siwan

Siwan played the timid Jang Geu Rae on “Misaeng”, but he’s actually a genius in real life. “The King in Love” star majored in mechanical engineering in Busan University prior to his debut. He scored 450 points out of 500 points in the entrance exam, meaning that he’s incredibly smart since Busan University ranked 15th in Korea in 2010.

Besides having amazing grades, Siwan can solve a Rubik’s cube in less than 40 seconds. He showed his skills during an appearance on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and impressed his former ZE:A groupmates as well as the audience.

Epik High’s Tablo

Tablo of Epik High was definitely born to become a writer. He spent his youth in the United States, where he enrolled in Stanford University. The “Born Hater” spitter managed to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing in merely three years. He later published a book titled “Pieces of You” which contained short stories that he had written. The book was published in both Korean and English.

Back in 2011, Tablo made headlines when he finished an IQ test in just 11 seconds. People who can solve the problem in less than 20 seconds are supposed to have an IQ around 170. Most of the students of Korea’s most prestigious university, Seoul National University, solved the problem in approximately a minute.

I know they take aptitude tests etc. to discern what military specialty/occupation/job they would match better. It is fitting he's ended up in a job that keeps him indoors in a very methodical environment doing something he's already shown an interest in.

There's a chance those who work in the kitchen have to wake up a little earlier than the others to begin preparing the food.

And it tickles me to think there are probably many who surround him who address him as hyung.

AND! I know when he sees Jimin enter the cafeteria, he gets the hugest brightest smile on his face. If he has any say-so in the kitchen, he is making sure someone makes and serves the biggest pancake, best pork cutlet and gives Jimin a huge serving of pork and kimchi stew.

I think the organization of "promotions" for Fri(end)s was excellent. I am 100% sure Tae came up with the idea of having people he knows react to the MV. The fan meet that happened yesterday, scheduled Stationhead listening parties and the WKorea thing is pretty brilliant too where it appears he'll sing the song in a prerecorded clip to be posted soon.

I wasn't sure if we would be able to get the song to #1 on the iTunes Top Songs list but we did it! There were some big releases yesterday.

And Hobi posted this on his IG stories:

This Wednesday will be the 100 day mark for Jimin and Jungkook (Tuesday for Tae and Namjoon). I wonder if all soldiers reaching that mark immediately take their 3 days off (or however many days it is) or can they choose when they want to take it?

I'd like to think Jungkook would be able to squeeze in a little bit of time enjoying one of those $1000 bottles of whisky that we spied in his fridge. I would assume he'll also swing by the house construction to pick out colors and flooring and such. I hope they get to eat some really good food and see all the people they want to see.

I learned they've been conducting readiness training and drills this past week with the U.S. forces stationed in South Korea. The report I read said they've doubled the scale of their drills this go round. (big worried sigh).

I hope everyone is having a great day so far. It's been a busy week/weekend for Bangtan.

Hobi's Hope On The Street album dropped on Friday and I got my ass to Target first thing to get it!

The album is amazing, as I knew it would be. Hobi continues to amaze me. I'm struggling to find the right words to express how I feel about him. As I told my bestie, Hobi is the blood and bones of BTS. Namjoon might be the big brain lyricist, the leader and Yoongi might be the constant melody maker and realist, but Hobi makes the whole thing come alive and beat with movement.

The first two episodes of the HOTS docu-series were also amazing. To hear and see him delving so deeply into the thing that makes him who he is and therefore makes BTS what it is brought tears to my eyes.

The Hope On The Street Pop Up location in Seoul is an overwhelming success as were the parties that Hobi threw for fans in LA, Chicago and NYC.

Items from his Hybe studio are on display at the Seoul pop up event and merch that is available there might be the same that will be available on April 9 on Weverse Shop.

Neuron dance lessons were being conducted today and look like they are being filmed. Maybe they will end up in a future Bangtan Episode! If you'd like to see more of what's inside the pop up, you can view this thread on X.

Yoongi has entered the Nonsan Training Center, the same one where Namjoon and Tae did their basic training. Yoongi's basic training will last 3 weeks and then he will return to his alternate service assignment. He looks so good! (sarcasm)

And it was mentioned that Jin accompanied Yoongi on this day. Jin wasn't going to let Yoongi enter military basic training without having his only hyung in the group see him off.

Speaking of Jin, his Weverse post for March was 77 DAYS LEFT!

Jimin has made a scholarship available at the Department of Physical Therapy at Dongeui Science University in Busan. According to the information, Jimin made this donation prior to enlisting. Physical therapists are important in his and the members' lives to keep them healthy while performing at such high levels.

Taehyung was spotted at a soccer match in Chuncheon. He was with a group of fellow soldiers in uniform. However, also present were Manager-nim and several recognizable Hybe security guys. Interesting.

Namjoon shared some moments from his weekend with us. I will assume he is taking his proper holiday now that he's past the 100-day mark of enlistment. He visited Sorol Art Museum in Gangneung, he hugged the sky at a beach, smelled the cherry blossoms and was lurking in and about the Hybe building because he saw a banner from Army. It's possible the banner was installed by the owner of a nearby restaurant.

And I can't leave my precious Kookie off this week's report. We don't know if he and Jimin have taken the vacation that is due them now that they've also passed the 100-day milestone of their enlistment. They've completed just over 20% of their obligation as of yesterday/today and tomorrow they will be promoted to Private First Class II.

Bangtan weekly report

Lordt, what a week, what a month, what a year? It's September, we're on the downhill slide.

I've been busy, y'all. You know, life happens and all that crap we say when we have to focus on stuff that's not as fun as staring at the latest naked Bangtan pics... anyway... there is A LOT to process, A LOT to even sit down and catch up on.

Let's break it down shall we?

It was JK's b-day and he first tried to TikTok live us and you know, I hope he can't figure it out to his satisfaction because there's no replay and no translations so fuck TikTok and I mean that in a nice way. Thank god for Armys who record and translate.

And he dropped this tiny but significant TMI:

We know he's building that big whatever it is. It will be a while before he leaves his current residence...or? What? Moving elsewhere until he enlists? He mentioned in one of his more recent past lives that he had to clean up some of his junk in his apartment... soooo.... hmmm....

Also, this:

Acting research? I'm loving the sound of whatever that is.

Thankfully he came to visit us on Weverse live as well, did a few card tricks and cut it short, one of the shortest lives he's done in years and years? Were the aces a hint? Or just part of his magic trick?

He was out and about before the live, taking pics on the street, he's said he doesn't mind at all, running into fans in public and saying hello.

It's the people who claim to be fans who stalk him and show up uninvited to places where he's trying to live his life in private. Whoever you all are, I'll speak for Kookie. Y'all suck.

In Busan, when he was with his idol friends, they were asked if they were who they were by the restaurant employee and they tried to deny it. That should be a big hint to leave them alone.

Kookie shared a video on his TikTok in solidarity and support of RM speaking out about the uncalled for hate that came RM's way after he posted that song on his Instagram story.

You know... there's been quite a lot of discourse lately about culturally sensitive topics. Tae's "gaffe" and this song that RM shared... I think if you felt offended or uncomfortable when you saw those things happen, those feelings are your own and 100% valid.

Being of Japanese descent, through my life, it has made me cringe when I hear people call stuff "Jap crap" or just yesterday, a canvasser for a political candidate asked me if I was from around here... like... if I was blonde and blue-eyed would they have asked me that? You know? I was speaking to them exactly like I speak here, fully fluent in (Southern U.S. redneck) English because that's my only language (sadly, no thanks to mom and dad because I did not learn Japanese or French). But I don't get obsessed or angry or want to threaten anyone's careers or life. I don't even think about it. And I don't really hold it against people who are not aware of how they come across like that.

People are insensitive all the time without knowing it: asking a woman when they are due but she's not pregnant and maybe can't even have children... mentioning other culturally derogatory terms without realizing it (see "Jap crap" above), saying something looks "gay" like... ok what does that even mean?... you know what I'm saying? I use the term "spirit animal" all the time and someone DM'd me saying it was offensive. So we're all guilty.

I get it, we're all different in how we react. BUT MY FEELINGS ARE VALID TOO, AND MY REACTION IS MY OWN AND DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THE SAME AS YOURS TO YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE.

As I said, feelings are valid, and the members aren't perfect and it's okay to call them out on it. But the extra implication that was piled on Namjoon for that song rec crossed the line and he addressed it in his own live.

Exasperated he explained that it was just a song and that he knows exactly what everyone is saying, that he's a 30 year old man and can express himself freely. He said even if there will still be those who will accuse him of lying, he can't and won't lie to us.

I love him: "For ten years I've held things in my heart but nowadays I can't do that, I have to speak my truth. Believe my own words."

Before he got into it though he offended the mathematicians and then tried to back track (omg I'M JOKING ok?... unless someone got offended... omg, can we just chill?)

His 2-day old stubble and fuzzy headed self.

The obsession people have with their weight and their looks is mind-blowing. The way he's drilled in the comments on his face, his hair, about admitting he's tanning, how much he weighs, what he eats, he looks tired... This man has an IQ of 160 or whatever and people are worried about a mosquito bite on his forehead. The vapidness and shallow level of interaction in the comments knows no limit. But we've known that. Please, before commenting can people please make a list of things to speak on other than how they look?

He closed by saying to trust him, he'll always show us what's inside of him whether its his music or him as a human... life is a journey with a lot of obstacles, he's good and focusing on his own things and not on the bad energy. He is in such a good head space nowadays... love to see it.

Next up, Taehyungie-hyung...dis my fave pic out of everything I've seen so far:

I am not a fan of Tae in blonde hair, I've said that before. But this particular shot is stunning to me, the lighting and angle.

As you know, I've not paid as close attention to Tae. Honestly I've been waiting for him to share things during this solo time so I can get to know him better just like I did with the other members.

Up until now, everything he does seems superficial EXCEPT the deliberate soft reveal of his relationship with Jennie, which I hope they are doing well and navigating the shitty waters of having to be idols in a relationship.

But so far, its photo spread after photo spread and I'm just not into it. Yes, Tae is very photogenic. I'm sure V biases are over the moon. I'm happy for them! If it was Jimin you would be sick of me posting every photo, so I get it! But I was looking for something a little deeper from him.

So it was this Dingo show that his personality opened up a little to me somewhat... interacting with this Army who's dream is to become a Military Officer. She is the cutest thing, her reactions so genuine and I could feel her excitement and how she was overwhelmed at the end of their day together when she broke down. Girl was holding it in and living the life that day!!! Sooo happy she got to experience that!

This one right above with her hands on his shoulders... such a precious memory. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of Tae's album. I'm sure I'll have things to say about it at that time.

And that brings me to Jimin. The jikook selca not withstanding, we haven't seen or heard from him in ages so after 2 months, 15 days, 23 hours, 8 minutes and some odd seconds (but who was counting? not me)... we finally see him again in person at a Dior event in Seoul.

He looked so good, except that tan leather coat reminded me of something 50s vintage, car coat over a sheath dress women wore in the springtime. He's small. Let's put a giant white garbage bag on him. Don't know what goes through their minds.

Dior creates some extraordinarily crafted pieces, but so far, I sometimes wonder if they've even bothered to look at any of Jimin's previous photo concepts for other various things. It's almost like they don't know how to dress him. That's just my personal opinion.

Anyway..AND THEN HE COMES LIVE!!! FINALLY!!!

Is that a Red Dragon keyboard he has in front of his computer? I don't really know anything about gaming stuff. And goodness...

He gets comfy by tying up those pants that look like four of him (or him and Kookie) could fit in there at the same time...

His eye crinkles... I don't care what people say about his beakie... I'm all about the eye smile and those eye crinkles that are going to get deeper with time.

Y'all, this is my bias...

That mood light of the realistic solar system makes Jungkookie's mood light look like child's play. But I see why his moons down his back look like they do.

I know some of the first translations say he called Jungkook for his birthday and he talked about wanting to live his 30s just as full as his 20s, and he's learning through his solo work that he has things to learn and he will improve and I just don't have enough or the right words to express how much I love and admire his perseverance and dedication to being the best at what he does and the best human he can be. I will do a full blog post when the official subs are ready later this week.

I don't know how this guy from the other side of the world got so completely under my skin:

I know there was a lot of other content that dropped that I didn't touch on but there aren't enough hours in my day to type it all up. I will just continue to watch and absorb as much as I can just like everyone else.

Jin and Hobi are still plugging away at their respective bases, I always pray for their safety and health while they are doing their duty. In a few months, Jin may show us what it will be like to celebrate birthdays while they are enlisted.

And Yoongi. We wait as the days tick by. We know its coming very soon. Holding my Yoongi bias friend's hand very tightly. We'll get through this together.

It's time for the Weekly Bangtan Report!

Happy Birthday Hobi! Neuron Crew has posted a happy birthday tribute on their social media channels. Here is the video on YouTube:

Neuron Crew are a group of Hobi's dance colleagues and friends from pre-debut. He's known them since middle school. This video was shot at Daedong Plaza in Gwuangju, Hobi's hometown city.

I was wondering last time if we'd see him in between training groups and here he is! The birthday boy himself was out and about. He saw his birthday banners and posters! I suspect this is possibly near his apartment building.

Namjoon.... there is that sus image of him playing the saxophone in a red military band uniform (not gonna post the pic). Is it an edit? Ok, so let's think about this.

When have we ever heard Namjoon say he knows how to play the saxophone? That would be approximately zero times he's ever said that. You'd think we would have had some Taehyung/RM interactions or conversations over the years involving saxophones. Nothing.

Do you know how hard it is to learn to play a wind instrument?

And there is only that one single suspicious image. Usually there are multiple weird sneaky angles, blurry shots, etc. I'm just saying I remain skeptical until I hear more from a different source, or from Joon himself. I've seen several pics supposedly of Jimin and Jungkook, one of them sitting in a cafeteria that looked hella real and then the original pic is shown and it's just... wow... edits can be very deceiving.

Joon posted a Lunar New Year message to us on Weverse:

Other Bangtan related news this week: Enhypen released a cover of I Need U. Some people are speaking negatively about it. What the ever loving fuck is wrong with you people?

That song was important for BTS, it was their first TV music show win and it was IMPORTANT and a big WIN for them that broke the door open. They were about to give up!

Be flattered that BTS is of a calibre that other well-known artists want to cover their songs! That being said, if you don't like the way they covered the song, fine, just move on, there's no need to be mean-spirited about it.

Last weekend, a Japanese TV show seemed to tease/spoil a hint that possibly high profile celebs stayed at a resort in a town outside Sapporo recently... the hint was "Dynamite." This was the resort:

They really are pulling us kicking and screaming along with them. If we choose to go, that is.

Normalizing naked Bangtan...so much more exposed skin these days. Smoking Bangtan (audible pearl clutching and gasping occurred)...vaping, whatever, we don't have to approve but it's not illegal. Cussing/swearing Bangtan... F-bombs flying from everyone EVEN JIMIN! Tattooed Bangtan... long gone are the days of using dishwashing gloves to conceal tattoos. Bangtan who wants to express themselves with even more explicit sensuality... Jimin having to forewarn us that we will see him being touched during a choreography (more pearl clutching omg). Bangtan who wants us to be more engaging and less vapid during the valuable and rare moments they choose to try to spend time with us...don't hold back Tae. Normalizing Bangtan enlisting in the military service, no matter how hard it is for us to send them off... our able-bodied sunshine:

They want to be raw... explicit... real humans. Imagine that?

They want us to be ok with them being the awesome and free artists that they WANT to be.

Army needs to grow up, act more mature and intelligent, be less alarmist, divisive and more open-minded. Still think it's scripted and fan service? Stay stuck in the past if you want, the rest of us will move on.

I know we think we are all these things because I see it on the daily everyone on their high horse on all platforms spouting their righteousness over everyone else. It's tiring y'all. Cultivate a little humility maybe? Stop judging petty, irrelevant shit.

Yoongi said so many things surrounding this album and the documentary but especially started kicking everyone in the teeth with Haegeum.

In the MV, Yoongi's "outlaw character" proceeds to go to his living space with his bag full of money, being pursued by "law and order." In his space he has everything and is "free" but of course what kind of freedom is that? He stares at the epitome of his life: a goldfish in a water tank.

Law and order being corrupt. The outlaw coming and taking without remorse.

We are all slaves to capitalism. You can't be sitting here reading this unless you are beholden to some capitalist technology company. None of this is free. But we can choose not to be slaves of hatred and prejudice.

My thought for the day (something very esoteric)...Yoongi killing Billboard with his chopsticks. BTS is here to stay motherfuckers. And they're gonna eat while they are here.

Bangtan Weekly Report...

So a lot happening in here in the last 24 hours. Joon's appointment took everyone by surprise. Seems legit significant and I wondered if this will affect his military service... not in the fact that he would be exempt because of it... not implying that at all. What I'm wondering is after he completes his basic training, would he just go ahead and shift into some kind of position where he is also associated with this particular activity in the military? Stationed at whichever areas are doing this activity and such...

I think for sure it will definitely add to his future opportunities and influence in the public arena. It’s so exciting for him!

Also: Yoongi headed to Japan. I love that shirt, vacation vibes. I hope he was able to rest a little bit and get something to ease his coughing though. I know he keeps saying don't worry, he's not sick, but something is up because you don't hack up a lung like that after walking a few hundred yards for nothing.

Also today: Tae headed to Japan Spain! He looked dressed for an island party. It's been a while since we've seen him wear earrings. Or, I should say an earring since its only one. AND THE HAIR! I'm not a big fan of the frizzy perm but he is squeezing all he can out of his 20s before enlistment with the ash blonde hair moment again!

How does he even see where he's going? How did anyone recognize him? That hat reminds me of a woven straw basket I used to have in my dining room.

Also today: someone now pointing out that Kookie discreetly moved a small object out of camera view during his garbage disposer repairman live on Feb. 27 ...

How did I not notice him doing that when I watched the live... so now someone is saying it resembles a car key fob... for a Porsche...hmmm, who do we know that drives a Porsche? ... ummm.... I don't know... it could be, or not? It's got a reflective chrome button looking area on it. It's white and car key fob shaped...

Of course, it could also be a vaper or his own car key fob or something else... a tube of lube (Kookie... please put stuff away after you use it, I know its handy there but still... TMI you know?) ... I need more visual info.

Also today: I see people grumbling (outright bitching) about the commercialization of Festa/BTS... commercialization = selling out...

This is my take on all of that (and probably an unpopular opinion, but anyways...):

People are all for their "sold-out" king when a random t-shirt or shoes they are wearing or an insulated mug sells out, but our guys don't see a penny of that.

And now you're saying official BTS merch would be somehow unsavory... a money grab... even though money from the sale of THAT DOES go into their pockets?... please think through what you are saying...

And commercialization in the form of sponsorships is not good? How is it not good?...Sponsorships are great!

Here's the deal... money makes the world go round... so that exact thing is what will help perpetuate the longevity of BTS, those sponsorships will give BTS a shit ton of money in return for licensing/promotion and underwriting big ticket projects.

It keeps BTS alive in the public eye and keeps the income coming in order for them to do first class work and endeavor to promote themselves and give us great events. Fabulous purple fireworks shows are not free. Sponsors help underwrite the cost of that. And because these events are happening will also indirectly help the many small businesses in those areas because of the influx of visitors to these events.

The day the money stops flowing will REALLY be the day BTS retires.

If we are who we say we are and intend to support BTS no matter what happens... IF WE ARE IN THIS BANGTAN SHIT FOR LIFE ... and what we are given right now is merch and purple corndogs, then I will buy a keychain or a book or eat purple tteokbokki, or whatever, along with whatever music is released. If you really are against it, then don't buy anything but don't act like what they are doing is disgusting.

Anyway, its been a full day. We are headed into Festa season for the next two weeks and beyond. The timeline seems focused on positive things. Or maybe that's my imagination. I am going to enjoy it while I can.

Why did JK come back to Korea?? I seriously thought it was to send Yoongi off but we're still not there yet.

This trip for JK is supposedly associated with a fashion schedule. Seems like if he was on his way to the VMAs they'd be ramming his appearance down everyone's throat for clout.

Personally, I hope he does not appear on that farce of an award show but if he does he'll pomichidai or however you spell it.

Dazed and Jungfused. He let those nipples see daylight and hasn't looked back.

JK is single-handedly dragging us along in Chapter 2, force-feeding us some grown-ass man full bleed adult Bangtan with his cigarette-smoking, nipple-feuled photos.

You know Mr. OG with the nipples will need to step up his game now right?

Tae x Layover ... poor guy wondering why everyone was cursing him out during his listening party on Stationhead.

So I listened to Layover. Added it to my playlists. It's nice, jazzy, R&B. Those genres are not my usual vibe.

Of all the songs, I think Slow Dancing is the one I like best. They were right to choose that as the title track.

The MV is gorgeous, except for the weird images of Yeontan in the trees of the mountain. Those kinda creeped me out... a little hokey, lol.

I was surprised that the songs are heavy in English lyrics. I know Tae has memorized things in English for things like award shows and all, it never seemed like he was confident in speaking English so it surprises me there is so much English in these songs.

Perhaps this is why he had Jungkook record the guides so he could follow them to help with pronunciation.

I watched a few of his Layover promotion interviews. I've been waiting to see him let more of his personality out during this solo rollout.

Tae is very animated and expressive when he speaks. And this is where I say he would excel at acting. He mentioned wanting to play a villian and I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT!

The Weverse Magazine story and today's Suchwita episode were more enlightening to me than anything else so far and gave me more insight as to the differences between him and the others. He made me understand his personality better. He made me realize or remember how sentimental he is. They talked in-depth about several topics: 2018, Chapter 2, individual projects and best of all they talked about when they get back together as 7. It did make me tear up when he said when they get back together he would like them to go on a trip together.

Anyway...

Tae has been feeding us on Instagram daily along with Namjoon...

Happy 29th birthday Namjoon!

You are loved and admired. Thank you for normalizing fuzzy mole head Bangtan, but I'm still going to fall down in a weeping mess when I see Jimin's head like that.

RM just going about his business and showing Jimin some art. The Leeum Museum is within walking distance of their apartments at Nine One, not that I think they walked there, they probably went in Jimin's car since Joon still doesn't drive... just kidding... but who knows. I got behind a Porsche Panamera the other day and was thrilled. That's a much larger car than I originally thought it was.

I want to think that some deep conversations happened while these two were contemplating art. How can deep conversations NOT happen when you are hanging around Joon?

And Hobi and Jin still making their presence known on Weverse and IG. We are on the downslide for Jin. I can't wait for him to be back.

I think, not 100% sure, but I think after Korean men are discharged from the military they are automatically put in reserves. I didn't know that until the other day. So we may think they are scott-free when they are discharged but not really. Phooey.

Just a quick thing for insight: Miley Cyrus said touring is hard for her because she felt her "ego" gets "overused" and that "it's hard to turn it off." She said "I think when you're training your ego every single night to be active, that's the hardest switch, for me, to turn off." Having every day the relationship between her and other humans to be basically 'subject' and 'observer' isn't healthy for her because it erases her humanity and her connection.

Just food for thought...

Bangtan Weekly Report: Festa Week

I am Army for about 3 years but loved them all 10 years...

saw someone say something similar the other day and its so true.

Millions of dollars spent on this almost month-long Festa and all for free to us. The 30 minutes of fireworks alone were estimated at $5 million USD. Now do you understand why those big sponsors were so important?

It is estimated that 400,000 attended the one day event that included Namjoon's presentation and the fireworks finale with about 120,000 being foreigners and 2000 being security manning the event. Perspective: Lollapalooza has an attendance of up to 100,000 per day. This 10th Anniversary Festa was ONE DAY.

400,000 ... almost half a million people on one day ... let that sink in.

Fireworks began with Mikrokosmos, one of my favorites and right away I'm having trouble holding back the tears. Ever since YTC Busan, Butterfly has become one of those songs that makes me overly emotional but I found myself getting emotional even when hearing Fire, Dynamite and Take Two playing with the fireworks coordinated to the beat.

During Namjoon's event, the members called in. 32 minutes in Jungkook calls in from Los Angeles and apparently, Joon didn't realize it was JK EVEN AFTER HE SANG A FEW LINES OF TAKE TWO... JOON????? About 39 minutes in, Tae calls in and about 58 minutes into it, we hear Jimin conducting an Army quiz. I hope they add English subtitles soon.
