It was a quiet winter night in busy New York. Four mutant turtles sprinted through the darkness of the city looking for criminals to beat up and bring to justice. Difficult task for any normal person, but not for them who was their reason for living, to protect New York and their inhabitants from any bad guy who wants to destroy it or who wants to harm those who live there.

The evening continued for a while in total tranquility until suddenly an enormous noise shattered that beloved quiet that until recently had kept the four young people company.

The noise came from an alley not too far from the four and so it didn't take them long to arrive to see what was happening.

Initially everything seemed normal until the unconscious body of one of the Foot Clan members landed at their feet.

“To be able to throw a body like this, the person who did it must certainly be very big and strong” thought the four, unaware of what they would find themselves in front of.

Not having a good view from where they were at the time, they decided to approach out of curiosity and hid in the shadows to have a better view of the whole scene.

What they saw left them completely stunned and astonished.

A person of short stature was fighting against other members of the foot clan and managing to keep up with everyone. He almost seemed to be able to predict every little attack that came his way and intervene accordingly and between dodges and precise blows, one by one he defeated them all.

They still remained there trying to see the face of the person who had just finished fighting but they soon realized that his face was partially hidden by a black mask that left only his e/c eyes exposed. In addition to the eyes, some h/l h/c hair disheveled from the fight that had just ended were visible and some of this hair was stuck to the forehead due to the light layer of sweat that had formed.

-WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING LETTING THERE?! YOU NOW MADE ME LATE FOR TRAINING! GET UP, I WANT TO FINISH DESTROYING YOU!! - you shouted, moving one of the members of the foot clan lying on the ground with your foot.

-You act so boastful and then deep down you're a wimp...- you spat annoyed and then snorted.

Suddenly, to the surprise of all four of they, you took off your mask to take a breather and wiped away some of the sweat with the back of your hand before bending over to the backpack you had just reached and taking out a pack of damp handkerchiefs to clean your hands.

-How disgusting...- was the only thing you said as you continued to clean your hands with a disgusted face.

Just then Mikey accidentally poked the dustbin near his hideout catching your attention.

You immediately became defensive, staring into the darkness in their direction and the boys jumped at your sudden movements.

-who is there?!-

None of the four moved and so you immediately grabbed your phone to light up in their direction. Your eyes widened at the sight.

-What are you?- you asked, keeping the flashlight towards them to avoid missing any of their movements.

Leo stepped forward - well, doesn't it seem obvious? we're turtles - the young man teased you.

-Ah, thank you very much for the explanation, now everything seems normal to me and I will go home calmly as if I hadn't seen anything strange like four talking turtles with bands and weapons... yes, thank you very much-

-You see that we understand each other, huh?- Leo replied

-I was being ironic anyway- you snorted, thus triggering Donatello's curiosity, perceiving you to be partly similar to him.

-Can you tell me what you are and what you are doing here? I want to know if I have to kick your ass or I can go home... you know how it is, it's late to be around-

-My brother is right- said Raph, -we are mutant turtles...- he added, -ninjas and teenagers- concluded Mikey.

You stood there looking at them one by one without ever meeting their gazes - it would be hard to believe if you weren't in front of my eyes...-

-But you're still afraid of us, aren't you?- Leo asked

-Mh?-

-I say, it's true that you didn't have any particular reactions but you're avoiding our gaze as one would avoid a monster's gaze- Leo replied

-I can safely tell you that you are wrong Red-eared slider-

Leonardo stood there looking at you -so why are you avoiding our gaze?-

Donatello intervened -Asperger? True?-

You nodded causing confusion for the other three.

-What are you talking about Donnie?- Raph asked looking towards his brother.

-He just confirmed a doubt I had, he has Asperger's syndrome, a high-functioning autism spectrum- Viola clarified.

-Ah, well, then I'm sorry for accusing you... anyway, nice to meet you, I'm Leonardo- he held out his hand to you without however receiving a shake from you who remained there staring at his hand.

Leo seemed to get annoyed by this but you immediately explained - I don't feel comfortable having physical contact with someone I don't know unless it's for a fight, don't take it amiss Leonardo. Anyway, I'm Y/n, nice to meet you- you bowed slightly in greeting.

-No problem, anyway they are Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo- he introduced the brothers, pointing to them one by one.

-Anyway, you're fantastic at fighting!!- Mikey cheered, -where did you learn??- he asked.

-Let's say I was forced to do Kickboxing to let off steam and solve my anger problems but just today these failures blocked me and made me miss the lesson I had and so I thought it was appropriate to take lessons with them-

-Well, you're right to channel your anger and vent it in a sport like that, it's very useful- Raph complimented.

-Said then by a giant turtle with anger problems- Leo teased, triggering a blush from his older brother.

You laughed - but I can say that I'm happy to have missed the lesson, so I have the opportunity to get to know you - you smiled sincerely.

-Awww! You're so kind Y/n!! - Mikey approached to give you one of his mega hugs only to be blocked -n-not naw please- you smiled a little uncomfortably and then gently caressed the younger's shoulder -sorry! I did not think about it! but anyway I feel honored by this caress - he chuckles happily.

-Anyway, it's too late to go home alone, let us accompany you- the redhead proposed

-Do you have anything else to do? I don't want to disturb-

-No way!! We were on patrol anyway, and then we'd like to help a new friend, wouldn't we guys? - asked the blue one only to be followed by the three brothers who nodded to his question.

-Thanks guys, I really appreciate it- you smiled and then walked towards home chatting and joking with your new four friends.

Now that I have FINALLY SEEN Mutant Mayhem, thoroughly enjoyed it, and stopped vibrating at lightspeed in excitement.

So first item up on the roster, this ULTRA SOFT sideless tank

I went with the 2012 Hamato clan symbol (cause it's perty) in super soft-autism friendly-stretch applique.

The loose cowl neck is meant to evoke the last-surviours-club look (Casey Jr, Future!Leo, Ronin, ect.)

And I went with the sideless muscle tank, not only because it's comfy and i like the look, but because to me, it calls to mind the fact that the '03 boy's carapaces' and plastrons aren't connected, if their sides are squishy and vulnerable, then so should be mine.

NEXT my beloved sling bag

(which i actually made last year, but it was part of my movie-going ensemble so tckpbtblpfg)

You may note, the straps thickness, and the placement of the buckles, mimick 2012 Leo's sheath straps.

And I whipped up a quick and messy hanger charm of the '18 boys to replace its standard eye dango for the day.

Stretchy material offcuts, bought from my fav fabric store (which happens to be within walking distance of flying bark studio headquarters NO IM STILL NOT OVER IT)

I couldn't figure out a good way to SEW sew these, so they're a no-sew sandwiched design, using mistyfuse and a see-through white mesh. I could've stood to make the eyes more dramatically shaped, but the mesh holds their shape and looks way less weird than actually being able to see your eyes.

They're all pretty soft and not horrendously uncomfortable pressed against one's eye sockets (Leo's is the softest by far tho) so you can wear 'em for long enough to jump around like a maniac without triggering too many sensory issues, Yay!

Long tail Mikey Mask and 'classic' Donnie mask where worn by the friends who accompanied me, other Mikey mask for a friend who had work that day.

The '18 Donnie mask went in all its eyebrow glory upon my wrist, in memorial of my friend who's overseas rn and I couldn't drag along.

Leo's was mine, and we didn't have a Raph, but I brought it with me anyway, cause im allergic to not having all four.

I'm somewhat frustrated I couldn't come up with an '87 inspired piece, but I'll work one out at some point.

My full 'fit for movie viewing was sick as, though you'll have to take my word for it, but needless to say it was Casey Sr inspired in sillouette and attitude.

ROTTMNT HEADCANONS BECAUSE I WATCHED AND LOVE THIS SHOW AND AM HYPERFIXATING AGGRESSIVELY ON IT NOW:

They keep the surnames of “Hamato” despite abandoning the strictly traditional practices of the Hamato clan whilst also taking more eclectic inspiration from their arts to their own.

They all brumate btw. Pry this from my cold dead hands. Every time brumation season comes, the Disaster Twins Inc. hog the couch.

Donnie, because he’s autistic and is a softshell turtle, has sensory issues and is very picky about what food he eats and which clothes he wears, as well as what surfaces he touches. He secretly has a casual list catalogued about what sensory things he loves versus what he hates, and there’s a small area in his lab that’s sensory heaven for him.

All the turtles have different eye colours. Leo has natural heterochromia, one eye being cobalt blue and another eye being bright amber. Post-movie Raph has heterochromia from being turned into a Krang zombie for a short amount of time- one eye is emerald green, and another is a bright magenta purple. Donnie has warm brown eyes, and Mikey has baby/cornflower blue-ish grey eyes. April has hazel green eyes.

Teenage Mutant Intersex Turtles, anyone?? They’re all different variations of intersex on the intersex spectrum. Leo was presumed to be a guy and does have some male traits, but is biologically female- he’s both intersex and a trans dude (and I’m all here for it).

Raph is an aroace bigender (both transfem and demiboy), Mikey is genderfluid and greyaroace pansexual and panromantic, Donnie is nonbinary, asexual and greyromantic biromantic, and Leo is FTM trans, demisexual and gay (did I mention they are all intersex).

Yes I do headcanon disaster twins, and that Donatello was taller than Leonardo when they were younger but Leo is 3 and a half minutes older than Donnie and takes every damn opportunity to brag about it.

In the future, all of the turtles have cloaking brooches and stable jobs that earn them great income. They also have apartments close to the sewers that is their home.

Okay, we all know Donnie’s canonically autistic. But what if all the turtles are on differing parts of the spectrum. More at 5.

Donnie in addition to being autistic has insomnia, BPD and misophonia and does have sight issues and is prone to migraines due to staring at screens and not getting enough sleep, Raph has panic disorder, dyslexia, OSDD-1a and GAD, Leo has ADHD-I, autism, GAD and is bipolar, and Mikey has ADHD-HI, dyscalculia and autism. All of them have some form of PTSD post-movie.

Leo does know how to play chess please and thank you. He just does it for fun and doesn’t really practice.

Splinter has PTSD, is autistic and is bisexual (the most unrealistic thing is young Lou Jitsu/Hamato Yoshi in his 20’s NOT kissing men and enby hoes in addition to women). He’s not a bad father, he just passed some of that generational trauma of everything that’s happened to him, as well as his regrets and grief, down to his kids without even knowing and feels terrible about it once he realizes. He may have made so many mistakes as a father, but he deeply loves his sons beyond what they could ever comprehend, and he’d send anyone to the shadow realm if they laid a finger on his beloved turtle children.

Donnie and Leo (mostly Donnie) bite each other for no reason at all- not enough to hurt or draw blood, but enough for the bitten to yelp and want an apology from the one who did the biting.

April O’Neil is an also autistic lesbian polyamorous demigirl. She’s saving up enough money by working at The Foot shoestore partially for her top surgery. Sunita is her best friend soon-to-be girlfriend. They’re gay disasters your honor.

Cassandra Jones is MTF trans. Fight me on this one.

Sunita, despite being a teenage slime yokai, does celebrate and participate in Indian culture and does consider herself Indian (let me have my rep I’m starved of please). She’s also a lesbian demigirl, and is asexual and autistic. She also has the ability of superhuman bodily elasticity, even in human form (though it is restricted somewhat in human form). Sunita WILL call pilaf ‘biryani that needs therapy’ okay, she’ll fight you if you say they are the same thing.

Memories of a Ronin, A Future Leo Au that has been floating around my head for WEEKS.

Look one of my first ACTUAL post's on tumblr, Elow hoomans! So recently ive been apsolutely obsessed with Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ROTTMNT. Ive scrounged up all content i can find on them and espetually on the Future Timeline from the Movie, (and the movie in general, Technodrome My Beloved) but this idea in piticular has been floating around in my Brain juices for a bit. Everything goes the same initally, Mikey open's the portal, Casey goes through and yes Leo Dies...but not really. His fam, or some bored Deity wanting to see him both suffer more and heal throws his memories back in time, and only his memories. so shortly after the Shredder is taken down and our boi's are healing from that and the sudden increse in Goverment intrest in Mutants and Yokai (they blew a fucking hole through new york from the hidden city that was Seen from SPACE. The world would have noticed that and you can't tell me EPF isnt imediately Swarming.) plus finding a new home and a long list of other stuff Leo begins having odd Dreams and nightmares, at first its just small things, Flashes of fights yet to occur, both from years in the future and litterally a few hours from now, then they start getting a little too spicific, Mikey and him Eating with "Casey" This kid who he seems to care alot about who looks a bit like Foot Recruit, A Fight alongside Raph who looks much older and is missing an eye, Teleporting around like he was born too and then later memories lacking any Mystic's from him at all. The first real Horrid one he has despite the Mess of dead bodies and horridly messy Kraang Zombies he see's nightly already keeping him from sleep is him loosing his arm, he feels it from his own eyes, just like everything else he's seeing in these dreams, their like Memories and alike memories their not always that clear but this...this was far to...detailed. He Can remember what he saw but while in the Dreams he knows he has more Context, details that slip when he wakes up. some eventually stick, like Casey's name was initally slipping and then Stuck better after a dream where Casey saved him from a fucking Lazer when the kid was like 9...he knows by his own orders the kid wasnt allowed out of the base for a full 3 months after that one cus it scared him so much. As his current life calms down, they settle into the new lair and things go mostly back to normal, With Leo's only worry being Raph's constant attacks on his Judgement as leader (and his messy attempts at being leader...), Donnie fighting The Purple Dragons randomly again over some sort of Shitty charity (its Autism speaks and they faught over it at first, relized they were both trying to tear it apart and started working together to take it down, then faught again on who got to keep the money...) And Mikey's art started to make the place feel more like home his nightmares started to get worse. For almost a year straight Leo spent his waking hours trying to do his job as leader right, and living life and his "Sleeping Hours" trying to not sleep by any means nessicary or wimmpering in his sleep as another person dies on his orders or he finds another Scull of someone who was once an Ally...or he watches Raph Die...that was the worst and when his brothers truely saw the extent of these nightmares. They knew he's been having them but he's always had a hard time sleeping and they assumed it was just from the new stress of being leader and what happened with the Shredder which they were all having nightmares about. then the Screaming, it would be the middle of the day (Da Boi's are Nocturnal) 3pm and Donnie (Twin things) and quite often Mikey and Raph would wake up to Sobbing or screaming from Leo's room. it became routine when this happened for one of them to go and just Sit with him till he woke up because they learned pretty early on, you cannot try to Wake him up or Pizza Forbid Touch him because he will come up Swinging and he does have rather long Claws (Raph has a nasty Scar on his arm from one of these incidents)

And because tumblr decided to be funny and DELETE MY WHOLE FUCKING DRAFT! Ima just give you the TLDR- Future Leo's memories are sent to the past somehow and Mini Leo starts getting them as Nightmares or odd feeling first person dreams that he remembers too well just after the shredder incident, they get worse as things calm down and the bois find a new lair and then rather suddenly get better (for everyone else, Leo just remembered how to Cry Silently on instinct because as the leader of the resistance and dealing with nightmares for over 20 years by boi is VERY good at silently going through it on instinct.) life goes back to normal, Leo's an oddly good leader now taking things seriously and life is good though everyone is noticing something off about Leo as time goes on. a Bad fight with a Newer, more ruthless and unfamiliar villain causes those worries to be quickly justified as Leo kills at least half of them after Mikey is taken down hard enough to lightly crack his shell. he runs off and the group gets a distress signal from across the city almost 3 hours later, they find him bloody and missing his fucking arm with zero explanation as too why or how. (he Cut it off during his Mental break and in the process got back ALL his memories. Why? Imagine being a 38 year old War vet who just lost aforementioned war and then your suddenly shoved into your 15-16 year old self's body but not really cus its just him getting your memories, on the flip side imagine being a carefree 15 year old teen who's lived his life in reckless abandon for years learning not only does one of his own mistakes cause the apocalypse but he's not even really himself anymore as he forcefully is given the memories of his future self. ya that's alot my dude, id have a mental break and cut off the arm i already lost too. anyways that happens, Leo now has to carefully keep up appearances while looking for the key (he made up a good story to explain the missing arm.) he finds the Key, makes an excused about Spending the night with Cassandra (they have been getting closer to her recently) and Steals it, then ends up fighting his brothers because unlike his normal teams of Highly trained miliary soldiers he's instead stuck with 3 chaotic teenage brothers who will easily run off on a mission without So much as Leaving a note for their Leader. Because of that oversight and Leo refusing to reveal his identity beleving he needs to keep the key away from his family too the world is once again in danger because of one Hamato Leonardo. Hours later he's making plans with his brothers to get the damn thing back before they start the ritual (only thing they know so far is that thing is very dangerous in the foot clan's hands and they NEED to get it back imediately, Leo is still Leo so seeing him this damn serious about something makes them all listen) then of of course April comes in with a certain Casey Jones JR and Leo almost breaks, Casey wakes up in barely 5 minutes and the 2 imediately star talking in this...well is defentally a code of some kind (Basicly a bunch of languages, Conlangs and Literial word codes hiding under a trench coat pretending to be a single language, Grammar doesn't exist here and Donnie (whos the one that made it) is Absolutely appalled... no one can understand a lick of it but whatever they just talked about seems to have been agreed on and Leo's now updating their plan to include this RANDOM FUCKING KID WHO AMBUSED APRIL. a light explanation that they know each other and Shadow (Casey short for Shadow Scull a nickname he gave himself when he was 6 and that he never really escaped) was here to help them. This time they get the Key and Leo literally sends it to the fucking SUN but of course everyone is very concerned about WTF is going on with Leo (which is now becoming far more apparent as he interacts with Shadow...something changed) Of course Foot clan are still stupid and Fucking Stubborn and thus we begin dealing with the foot's shenanigans plus Leo's odd behavior, at the same time! woo.

This time around I just wanted to ask, if you had to pick one adventure from each of the series that you would consider your favourite, what would it be? (Don't have to answer for Deadlands since that ain't complete yet) Because see for me, it'd probably be Plandemonium from D&D (just loved the utter chaos of planning that went on it that episode), YASP for One-Shot Wonder (again, utter chaos), Dead Man's Worth for Deadlands (twists and turns and Andy's smug face) and The Astor Gambit for BitD (1. Johnny is reason enough. 2. The Wonderful Mechanical Man was there).

heist society was the first ep of oxventure i ever watched (completely by accident lmao, i was so confused) so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me but i also think it’s one of the stronger episodes of early oxventure? i mean it has everything. red room full of blood. sexy minion outfits. I’VE RUN THE LABS. tinnies. what’s chess? fucking effervescent. everyone seems to have settled into roleplaying and d&d and i love a whodunnit mystery and there’s literally never a dull moment in that episode. a fishmas carol is also a close fave – the adventure pit, SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH CORAZON!, cthuludad, alfred strangetide my beloved, egbert seeing the ninja turtle, IRON! but then again its so hard to pick favourites, especially with oxventure because the thing is about oxboxtra and johnny is that it's kinda impossible to put them in a room together and the outcome not be fucking hilarious. dine hard, also brilliant. ship happens. unreal estate. sparrowhawk is my fave blades episode because it brought us The Aeronaughty Boys aka the best named group in oxventure history. but also because i think kasimir and barnaby/mike and johnny bounce off of each other so well? it’s classically opposites attract and so funny to watch hardened criminal kas be Astounded by barnaby’s scheming. and because i love the way johnny has a very proud expression on their face any time they watch luke dm, it’s so sweet. i also love a crimsnight carol because oh my god the capellenaga family and their snakey snakey hair (did we ever find out if lilith’s dad had snake body hair?) but also starting the adventure with the name evan “the geezer” screws was such a fucking power move and set the silly tone of the whole ep perfectly. also baby edvard my beloved. all iterations of edvard my beloved. andy was given so much space in which to play and play in it he did. other faves of mine are the astor gambit, murder at volisport academy (edvard's reaction to lilith's snake hair is so sweet), AND THE LAMPBLACK WEDDING HOW COULD I FORGET!? jane and ellen are such an underrated combo.

as for one shot wonder, admittedly i haven’t watched enough to really pass comment, as mentioned in the previous ask i struggle with new content/formats/guests and i desperately wish i didn’t. my mind just gets very fixed on something it likes The Way It Is and any change to that is immediately so very difficult to settle in to. autism things. but from what i have watched, the dread episode is fan-fucking-tastic. i wish we’d had time to get more into killian’s character because there was some foreshadowing that didn’t have a chance to go anywhere, madison (as all of ellen’s characters are) was immediately so intriguing, i refuse to believe that brad’s name isn’t actually gregg and, once again, when luke westaway gets his sticky gm paws on a game, you know it’s gonna be good.

deadlands is shaping up to be great, i love love LOVE. the accents and the aesthetic and the vibe of the weird west, it’s such a perfect game for andy to dm and as far as the episodes go, dead man’s worth part one is my favourite. the ending oh my GOD the ending. the first real pc death in oxventure! it’s such a tonal shift from what we’ve previously been given where situations have been perilous but never truly deadly. i was sobbing buckets because 1) somehow in less than two episodes johnny had made nate so very endearing and 2) it was such a tonal shift. andy’s shit-eating grin too oh my god. and luke and jane’s faces.

so again, it’s another essay from me going “i love this but i also love this and this and this”, it’s just so hard to choose favourites because, as i said before, i think it’s impossible for an oxventure to not be incredible. the chemistry between everyone just makes everything they touch turn to ttrpg gold. it’s literally the reason that i started this blog? i kept spamming my best friend with “oh my god _ just said-“ and whilst they welcomed/even encouraged that, consistently spamming them with a lot of d&d shit with no context (and then the subsequent context in a five minute voice note) wasn’t very conducive to me keeping my nearest and dearest near and dear and getting all the brainrot out somewhere. hence my personal corner of tumblr dot com. it’s all my favourite moments, every bit that makes me have to pause and take a stim break bc laughter isn’t enough, every silly line or tongue-in-cheek joke that just makes me incredibly happy. they’re all my favourites!

YES ANOTHER FELLA!! i'm starting to get into the other tmnt shit and! im very excited!! i would also suggest the 2012 show, ive only seen like tge first 2 or 3 episodes with my beloved, but i enjoy it, even tho they made Donnie have a crush on April! and! aldo the 2014 TMNT movie and it's sequel, TMNT: Out of the Shadows! i would also suggest the 1990 movie, and THAT sequel called rise of the ooze or something? that has my daughter Venus De Milo, the girl with every known disease imaginable, im pretty sure the costumes for those movies was made by Jim Henson, but im not entirely sure? that ones pretty cringe and Venus caused the creators to split up and never speak to one another in a VERY long time

WORDS OF SHAKESPEARE: The Return of a very Supa Occasion! (Special guest: Richard)

On the 19th of June 2021, my old friend, Maiwel alumni and acting veteran Richard and I went to the Supanova Comic and Gaming Convention at Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush Bay. The 2021 edition of Supanova was the first time in two years that it was held in Sydney as last year’s edition was called off due to “You Know What” alongside Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth.

To implement with the health and safety protocols, the layout of the convention was more smaller and laid out to comply with physical distancing measures as well as entering via a QR Code.

When I first entered the Dome Exhibition centre seeing all of the convention goers and Cosplayers of superheroes, sci-fi and anime. I kneeled down and proclaimed “HALLELUJAH!” as many of the convention fans from NSW were starved of a taste of a full-on convention since the world went upside down early last year (Outside of the smaller edition of Oz Comic Con titled OCC POP UP which was held earlier in March of this year).

Supanova contained a teeming amount of Cosplayers from DC Comics and Marvel Superheroes, Rick and Morty, Steven Universe, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Doctor Who and Power Rangers, Cosplayers from anime such as My Hero Academia, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Naruto and Disney films including Mary Poppins, Mulan and The Little Mermaid, Cosplayers from Video games including Overwatch, Pokémon, Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy, Sonic the Hedgehog and Undertale, Cosplayers from Web animations for instance including RWBY, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss as well as various furry Cosplayers and cosplays of my childhood such as Pingu. There was also a very innovative cosplay such as an attendee dressed up as a giant functional Nintendo Game Boy System! The costumes looked absolutely well designed and spot on as I asked kindly for photos!

A number of RWBY fans and Cosplayers noticed me wearing Jaune’s Pumpkin Pete Hoodie. I must admit, I’d make a pretty good Jaune cosplayer if I could get his armour, his “Crocea Mors” sword and shield and dye my hair blonde!

There was also the Cosplay stage across from The Dome where there was a competition for the very best and innovative costume, as well as seminars of the bigger name Australian celebrities.

Speaking of the celebrities, Due to the international borders being closed until either the middle of next year or when the majority of the population of Australia is vaccinated, Supanova relied heavily on home grown talent from our country for example (but not limited to) Manu Bennett, David Wenham, Josh Lawson, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Georgia Haigh, Nicholas Hamilton and frequent Supanova Attendee, John Jarratt who is famous for portraying the infamously ominous and frightening Mick Taylor from the horror movie franchise “Wolf Creek.” I still remember being scared straight to high heaven watching the movie when I was very young due to Jarratt’s portrayal of the heinous horror character next to Bill Skarsgard’s portrayal of Pennywise the clown in Stephen King’s IT Chapters one and two, but alas Jarratt was a very generous and friendly larrikin!

There was a lot of great activities to do including the “Black Widow Obstacle Course” where you had to complete a number of tasks within the time limit in order to win a prize, Star Wars Lightsaber demonstrations and tutorials and the “Battlecry” LARP (live action role playing) battle displays and demonstrations where you could fight your friend or one of the friendly Battlecry veterans such as Sammy Owen from the recent Medibank Commercial with a rubber sword or axe. This was a very great debut for my LARPING alter ego, “Boar-Head: The Sworded Brawler” and I am very interested in joining a Battlecry LARP group in the future!

There was a very colourful display of artwork, comics and prints at the Artists Alley, with various comic book artists from across Australia such as (but not limited to) Queenie Chan of Fabled Kingdom, Anthony Christou of Luminous Ages and Camillo Di Pietrantonio famous for illustrating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IDW comics.

The Fabulous Wonder Mama also made a guest appearance as she is a superhero representing the LGBT Community.

The Artists Alley also had tables of independent artists selling comics, prints, bookmarks and badges available. Looking at the artwork made me feel like I was at an Art Museum for the fans of pop culture!

For those who want to spend some dough, there were also stalls selling new and vintage comics and trading cards, Pop Vinyl Figures, Animation cells from cartoons and movies of yesteryear, Action figures and gaming consoles from the eighties and nineties, LGBT pride flags, rock and metal band t shirts and apparel and Plushies from Japanese anime and video game franchises such as Pokémon and Digimon. There were also games to play such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch so fellow gamers can smash their friends out of the arena! For the con-loving geeks who were hungry, Dominos had a stall selling various flavours of pizzas and garlic bread and the canteens in the Sydney Olympic Park Dome sold fish and chips, bagels, sushi and coffee. Byron Beef Jerky also had a traditional stall selling all kinds of flavours such as Teriyaki, Chilli and the infamous “Devil’s Doo-Doo!” (Not for the faint hearted!)

Whilst Supanova Comic and Gaming Con in Sydney was a fun event for the inner nerds, parts of the con had to be completely modified and or removed in order to be healthy and safe for example, the discontinuation of handing out free goodie bags containing the guidebook and map of the layout of the con and other cool things making both the map and guide digital exclusive via the Supanova Website.

Another notable absence was the Australian Wrestling Federation wrestling ring where the pro wrestlers of the aforementioned promotion would host a series of three wrestling matches per day and the wrestlers would hand out free autographs, this really kind of hurt me as a fan of pro wrestling for sixteen years but it’s better to be safe than sick. At least the Battlecry LARP displays and demos filled in its place!

For the seminars, gone are the days of staff handing the microphone to the audience for the Q&A’s as they have to lineup behind the microphone in order to ask an interesting question to the guests.

I also didn’t like how some parts of the convention was a bit squashy when you first entered, in the artist’s alley and in some of the stalls. Like I said, we are in a receding health crisis and we need to wear masks, be physically distant, wash our hands and get the much needed vaccine shot against the you know what!

All in all, Supanova had a amazing return to full flight in Sydney despite the scare earlier in the week and the lack of International guests. I was starved of a full on convention throughout the year of misery last year and as a person on the autism spectrum, cons are such an amazing way to make new friends and to show out your inner geek, nerd,fanboy or whatever via cosplaying, gaming, greeting guests, purchasing artwork and so on and so forth all in a very safe measure!

I give this year’s Supanova in Sydney a 7 out of 10. This edition was absolutely different compared to last year’s and I have strong confidence that next year’s edition in Sydney and abroad will have well known and beloved international guests back to the much loved Comic and Gaming convention next year, just in time for Supanova’s 20th birthday!

Figured I'd give you a Oumeno (Kokichi x Himiko)-related ask, because why not? Hit me with your best shot! And by best shot, I mean hit me with any LGBT+ headcanons you have for them, plus any personal headcanons you have for the ship

*stretches to warm up for this ask* WELL –

I tend to headcanon Kokichi as panromantic and demisexual, as well as some form of nonbinary (I usually flip flop between genderfluid and solely nonbinary). Himiko I tend to headcanon as either bi and/or omni (because I never have consistent headcanons lol), and I like to think of them both as aroflux because self-projection, babey. Also Himiko's trans and asexual.

I like to think Kokichi has heterochromia and a green eye, he just uses contacts to hide it.

Himiko loves pancakes, and she's actually really good at making breakfast food! God help her if she needs to make lunch or dinner, though.

Kokichi has a really weakened sense of taste, and likes weird food combinations with interesting textures to make up for it.

They both love amusement parks and fairs, and it's a common date for them in the summer.

Kokichi has tons of nicknames for Himiko, such as Magey, Beloved, Bunny, Himihimi, etc. Himiko just calls him by his name or the very occasional common petname. That said, she once called him Soda Lolli-Pop and he's been trying to get her to call him that regularly ever since.

That fact actually makes them immune to the whole "Honey?" "Yes dear?" "Don't ever lie to me again" joke, which frustrated Miu when she tried to pull a fast one on them, but as she was leaving Kokichi said to Himiko, "Well, she's an idiot, don't you agree, love?" and Miu just walked straight into a wall.

Going back to Himiko being trans, she's a bit sensitive about her small chest because of this, but Kokichi likes to make jokes about venmo-ing her some breasts that always make her at least smile, if not laugh.

"Don't worry, Himiko, I'll have my organization members send you some tits in the mail, free of shipping fees."

Kokichi's actually slightly strong, he just doesn't like to lift things so he pretends he's weak so no asks him to.

Himiko makes really good sugar cookies. She can't move her batches in or out of the oven cause she got burned while doing so once and is scared to do so again, but when someone helps her with that they get rewarded with free cookies.

Kokichi likes to play meme themes on his kazoo and Himiko's learned to tune it out

Kokichi: *plays the Mii theme on his kazoo for an hour straight, irritating everyone else in the room to the point they're considering just slapping the instrument out of his hands*

Himiko: *turns a page in her novel* I wonder if the park would be a fun date for the weekend. What do you think, Kokichi?

They totally go to the soap/candle shops at the mall and sniff all the products before buying something. It's their weekly thing, along with just wandering around the mall, eating ice cream and pizza, and going to the bookstore.

Speaking of books, Kokichi loves romance and fantasy novels, and Himiko loves horror and mystery novels. Neither of them will admit to it. They cover for each other and claim their book collections belong to each other.

Kokichi gives Himiko piggyback rides when he's feeling generous.

They have the weirdest inside jokes that nobody else understands.

"I am going to conquer the Mediterranean with a pineapple ship!" "Shut up, you're a tootsie roll." "ROUND FRIEND BREAD!" etc

Kokichi loves dresses. Himiko has sensory issues with them unless they have specific styles and fabric, but she does like the swooshy-swooshy of them, so she wears skirts.

They both have ADHD and autism.

Kokichi's family is all ten DICE and Himiko has several siblings, so whenever their two families interact it's like an entire family reunion all on its own: chaotic and with tons of people, yet somehow loving.

Their favorite way of cuddling is just lying together. That's it. For example: Himiko's lying on the floor, playing on her phone, when Kokichi comes along and lays across her back, playing on his own phone. Optimal for sharing memes and whatever else they want to show each other yet still doing their own thing. It's a win-win. Especially since Kokichi's actually sensitive when it comes to touch but when he's in the mood for it he shows just how little physical affection he normally gets (not that Himiko's neglecting him or anything – he's just unused to it and usually can't stand it cause of sensory issues).

When they get older and buy their own place they get a trampoline and have serious discussions while bouncing in it, just because.

They also have like five cats, two guinea pigs, and a turtle.
