The phenom of little siblings being so much more successful than their older siblings is always really interesting to me. Sid’s obviously an older brother but his little sister is so much younger that he spent his first 10 years as an only child. And I think you can really see the protective older brother thing with him. But with both Davo and Bedsy, they’re little brothers. The fact that Cam McDavid seems so well adjusted and supportive is sort of a miracle. Imagine your little brother whose 4 years younger than you always playing on your team and always being the best on your team. Cam making jokes about his mom being proud of both her all stars seems like a best case scenario. And being Bedsy’s older sister must be a little crazy. The specific dynamic of being the older sister to this young hockey phenom who gets all the attention and is supposed to be the next great talent. And even with the Fantillis, even though Adam isn’t a generational talent, he’s supposed to be a great player and his brother’s not an nhl guy. All of these sibling pairs feature both siblings as athletes, but one is just undeniably a more intense and better athlete than the other.
I actually think there was a study done on this at one point -- in individual sports, eldest children are more likely to succeed; in team ones, it's most likely to be younger children. Buy luke hughes stock now folks it's coming home

Was remembering a comment my dad made about why he likes golf... "It's the one sport where on any given hole, with a little skill and luck, a middle aged amateur can play as well as a pro" and this is why Hawkeye will always be a golf guy to me. Because I think he would most appreciate a sport that he can actually be The Best at, at least on one hole, and the fact it can be played while strolling at a leisurely pace and drinking doesn't hurt either.

USA fans being like “well simone wasn’t performing like herself on that day either” when you point out how Russia won QF even with simone putting up 4 scores (and qualifying into every event final!) is so funny. Like oh are we just talking about a gymnast successfully doing everything they’re theoretically physically capable of in competition ? How convenient. By those standards say hello to my favorite would-be 3x olympic gold medalist viktoria komova

TRANS ATHLETES BANNED FROM OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS.
Will get more clicks than "trans athletes who wish to compete in official competitions will have to do so in the category of their biological sex, for sex-based categories make 0 sense if we forget that males and females will always be biologically different no matter how many hormones they take and how much surgery they put themselves through". It will also be shorter. But contrary to such a headline, my longer one is actually true.

Honestly the comment section on Ferraris instagram is disgusting. Carlos just pulled off a win for Ferrari in a season where redbull have been finishing 25+ seconds ahead of the rest. And what are the comments under the post talking about? "Wahhh Carlos why don't you speacially mention Charles by name for helping you!?!?!? Waaaahhhh Carlos why don't you kiss Charles feet and wipe his ass for creating that 3 sec gap😭😭😭"
Like come on people. I'm a bit more Charles leaning myself but Carlos qualified pole and Charles was P3. It does not take a genious to know who will get the preferred strategy, even Ferrari themselves managed to figure it out. Why on earth would Carlos thank Charles for sticking to a strategy that they most likely discussed right after qualifying? I would understand if Charles put up a lions defence that kept the mercs at bay for 3 or 4 laps but he didn’t, and that is not a criticism of Charles that is just simply stating facts.
And lets not forget how many times Carlos gets told to "don't attack, hold position" when it comes to keeping P4 and P5 in the race, so why shouldn"t Charles be given team orders when it comes to keeping the goddamn win?
It just suck that we got such a beautiful win with such great strategic driving and people are only crying about Charles. He's a big boy, I promise he will survive. He does not need you to put down his own team and his own teammate with the excuse of "defending him".
