as we enter the start of a semester and the dreaded Hour of Making Friends us upon us... if ur ever at a loss for what to say in one of those weird social situations where you only vaguely-know people, one of my favorite questions to ask is "what is your favorite food crime." a food crime is like the food combination that you love that other people find revolting. press them to take it further than pineapple on pizza, that's rote. food crimes is a good topic that has many benefits as it turns out all people are degenerates and also it will give you some cool ideas to try out later in the privacy of your own degenerate kitchen

the other good thing to ask is "okay but has anyone here ever been someplace haunted" bc it turns out if you ask most people directly they don't believe in ghosts, but many people are like "oh yeah i lived in a haunted house. ghosts aren't real tho"

#my food crime is that i regularly make a “pasta and tuna” situation that has somehow gotten even more evil and degenerate over time.#it is a ''white wine reduction'' (it's just white wine and garlic powder & seasoning)#and tuna from a can.#and plain pasta.#if i have the spoons i will actually chop garlic for it but this tends to be my comfort food for a REALLY bad day #bc its super easy to make:#boil pasta. drain. put into bowl for later. into same pot u used for pasta.#put tuna (with oil/water from can). let fry a little for like 2-3 min. put in whatever amount of wine. season to taste.#the tuna will get a little crisp on it which is nice. important side note:#this began as a Bolognese sauce.#and one day i had to sub for tuna. i know. not ideal. i cried about it too.#somehow over time it is now its own little evil thing. i would never make someone else eat it. it is beautiful.#but yeah i don't even stir the pasta in afterwards i just slap pasta into serving bowl #slap this ''''''sauce'''''''' on top #molto bene #(i really can cook fairly well btw. this is a food crime. not a suggestion of skill or ability)#(i LOVE baking but when i cook for myself. the autism is obvious. bc i just don't understand the point of most of the steps)#(.... i can just eat the deli meat out of the bag. it is protein. i don't even have to like it. i just have to eat enough calories.)#(also i used to cook MUCH more before this apartment which is so small that i can stretch my arms out and overreach the counter length.)#(.... i'm 5.2. so.)

It feels so decadent to feed your pets a bite of tuna. They could never access it on their own if it wasn't for us. They probably have no idea of what it really is, but they go crazy for it. If someone fed me something like tuna, I would spend the rest of my life thinking about it.

#to me it's just nice with onions on a sandwich or better an empanada #I was thinking about those ocean wolves in the US Northwest (IIRC) but I don't think they could even taste tuna #they're ocean going fish #they're bigger and more powerful than you know if you only know them from the canned food you wouldn't realize it #cosas mias

managed to get all of the possible responses to the Treasure Hunt reports that you can make and submit at the Naranja/Uva Academy website! Upon being shared to twitter/X, a randomly selected character will respond to your report, many of the characters bidding you a fun and safe journey to Kitakami. i think spearmaster and srs’ relationship is a lot more interesting than people usually make it in fan material… srs was apparently originally ‘repulsed’ (quite literally the word used) by spearmaster, but by the time it’s campaign rolls around, has become so attached they actively worry for it to nsh, being unable to imagine what would happen if it were seriously harmed… test tube baby emotions

#though they did also take the time to teach it basically sign language(?) instead of just giving it the mark and being done with it… much to #think about #i cant describe it well in this post #i just think people make them the Teehee loving slug iterator relatjonship #mostly cuz them + moon n riv are the only ones shown to deeply care for their little critters to my knowledge #bc i think people barely figured out nsh made hunter bc of their ascension screen #or maybe they don’t? idk.. maybe i haven’t seen enough fan content .#but srs has complex emotions for their carrier pigeon #it’s cute #rain world #my favorite slug iterator relationship is srs and spear and pebbles and artificer because they’re SO funny #pebbles and his weird cat who is divinely protected from his wrath.#& suns who wants to have a strict business relationship with their cat but leaves out too many open cans of tuna for it to stab for that #to be the case

I forgot you can't fish in "frozen ponds" (like what... it's a river???? and does it look fully frozen to you? and also ice fishing exists?) so I had to commit some temporary global warming to make this happen. But it was worth it.

on the one hand it's a relief that my little furfreak refusing to eat isn't a loss of appetite, but on the other hand the fact that she just ate an entire can of tuna but refuses to eat anything else is just apex asshole behavior what point are you starving yourself to prove, babe???

#she's got a vet appt on monday so like bohhhhhhhh #i've found this supplement powder that is a low-phosphorus additive you can put on anything to make it a complete cat food #that's kidney friendly (she's getting her bloods done so we'll see if the slight uptick was an anomaly or a trend for kidney disease)#so like theoretically i *could* just get tuna and put that on it and she'd be fine #but 1) cost and 2) salt content #she wouldn't even eat raw chicken which she usually goes fully feral for so idek if i could use that as an option with the supplement #she's spite starved before for a few days after i've come back from being away but this is next level tbh #crotchety old lady freak of nature <3
