i think season 2 did such a great job at showing an alternative life for all the characters. and i want to talk about what that means for wilhelm and simon.

Simon, of course, is most obvious. The thing with Marcus is, I believe he was written to have manipulative traits so that we would continue to root for Wilhelm. It meant that we didn't care when Simon cheated, because we knew he was better anyway. It also explained why Simon even stayed with him in the first place, since he realised quite early on that he wasn't ready for anything serious and that he was still harbouring feelings for Wille.

But I want to put Marcus' toxicity aside for a moment. He otherwise represents a perfect man for Simon, technically. He's a local, he didn't grow up on money, his dates are chilling eating pizza with the speakers blaring, singing karaoke, and hanging out in his place. He made it clear he was interested in Simon from the start, and didn't have a problem being out, because being out wasn't something that affected his life. Both Simon's friends and his mum support the relationship, and you can tell this is because he fits their ideal of who Simon should be with and who fits better into their lives.

Simon sees this life, he sees the ease of living he could have. But he still knows deep down that his heart lies with Wille, and this is what leads him to pursue Wille back after he begins to lose him. He chose a life with Wilhelm.

Wilhelm actually got a glimpse of multiple alternative lifestyles. Now I don't believe that Wille made a move on Felice because he viewed her as an easier life, however, she has always represented this. Ever since the beginning of the show, Felice existed as a potential love interest, in the eyes of everyone else. But in season one, we relatively ignore this, because we know Wille's feelings lie elsewhere.

But in season 2, the prospect of Wilhelm and Felice being a couple appears more tangible. While we, the viewers, are focused on Wille's relationship with Simon, the other students have all but forgotten about it. While Wilhelm himself is focused on Simon as well, this leads to him spending a lot of alone time with Felice that the other students begin to question.

I'm not sure at what point during that scene in his room that Wilhelm decided to try to replicate his time with Simon, or if it was a conscious decision at the time or if it just happened. But it's interesting that he does do this. Now, this ultimately leads to him realising that he cannot replicate the feelings or connection he has with Simon, and Felice admitting that she partially only liked him because he was a prince. So between the two of them, they know where they stand.

But the Forest Ridge boys' reaction is something else. The way they chanted and celebrated for Wille and Felice was something he never received with Simon. Of course, his relationship was private, but we know that it would not have had the same reaction anyway. Especially since they pushed this whole show about the hookup with Felice, with Simon sitting right there.

Wille is unlabelled, and remains that way. We don't know, if he didn't know Simon, whether he has the potential to have feelings for girls or not. So in a realistic sense, this storyline is irrelevant. But it represents a life that he could choose to lead, if he wanted. And he would have the public support of everyone around him.

Nils played such an important role this season in showing a life Wille could also lead. He shows Wille that there are many queer people in their societal class, who are simply keeping it quiet. He shows that Wille can choose to date guys, that there are other queer guys out there who would be willing to stay publicly closeted with him. Guys that would understand why he denied the video, because they themselves would do the exact same thing. Nils even makes this life attainable, by inviting Wille to come on holiday with him and meet people there. And I think, if Simon had not accepted Wille back, this is probably the way he would have gone. But it's not what he wanted.

Wille never wanted to deny the video. He wanted to not say anything, but then when he did have to speak publicly about it, he wanted to say it was him, because he wanted to be with Simon. But he was manipulated, and also not quite ready to come out.

The Queen also presented a different option for Wilhelm. He could come out, he could even be with Simon, if he wanted. But he had to wait til he was eighteen to be public. This is fairly realistic, and probably could have even been a viable option in Wilhelm's and even Simon's eyes, if the video never happened. If he had gotten to control his story all the way through, instead of being outed and having to deny his sexuality in the process. But he shouldn't have to wait to control his own narrative, when someone else already took that away from him.

The speech at the end of season one is Wille's opportunity for a redo. He can reclaim his own power, and tell the world it was him. He is in love with a boy. And in doing that, he chose a life with Simon.

Wilhelm and Simon both had the opportunity to lead an easier life. They could still be in queer relationships, but with people that fit into their supposed societal class, people that their friends and family approved of. Throughout this time apart, they were both shown that they could both attain this life.

But they chose not to.

They chose each other. Because they realised that no matter what hurdles they have to go through, that they are worth it for each other. They are a couple worth fighting for.

Today was your best friend’s bachelorette party, and you were very excited for it. You two have been glued by the hip ever since you can remember what having a friend is, and great hours of your teenage years were spent with you both dreaming about getting married, starting a family and things like that, and even though you and Rafe have moved in together for a couple of months now, you never really did all the cliché rituals of a married couple, so your friend is going to be the first one to achieve that, which is very special to the both of you, especially with you being her 1st bridesmaid. There was no way you would miss this moment. Or so you thought.

“Hi, babe, I’m home” you were getting ready in your bedroom when you heard the front door, and soon enough Rafe’s voice announcing he arrived from work.

“Hi, baby, I’m inside, bedroom!” you made sure to project your voice through the house, so he’d know where to find you.

“Hey- Wow!” he exclaimed when he opened the door and saw you all dressed up, finishing your makeup “You look so good, babe, so gorgeous” he walked over to you, wrapping his arms on your waist from behind and leaning to kiss your face.

“Hmm, thank you, handsome” you laughed turning on your heels to kiss him on the lips “Did you liked it?” you look back to the mirror, checking your outfit again.

“Of course, babe, I loved it” he sat at the end of your bed, unbuttoning the shirt he used at work “So, where are we going?” he asked, and you frowned.

“Baby, we are not going anywhere, I’m going” you chuckled fixing your earrings “Today’s is Liza’s bachelorette party, remember?” you walked over to him.

“What? No, I don’t remember, you haven’t told me anything” Rafe frowned, you felt his tone changing and you knew you’re in for it.

“Yes, I did, baby. She’s been planning it for a long time, I told you this like, two weeks ago?” you shook your head at the rhetorical question, standing cautiously in front of him.

“Well, I’m sorry, but I don’t remember, you could’ve texted me or something. I even called off on Topper, what about dinner now?” he shrugged in disapproval, pursing his lips.

“I made you dinner already, it’s on the microwave, made that mac’n’cheese you always say you like” you smiled sweetly, putting your arms on his shoulders and tilting your head to one side.

“So that’s how you think it works? Just because you make something that I like for dinner you think you’re free to go wherever you want?” he questioned roughly, making you huff and take a step back from him.

“No, baby, that’s not how I think it works. I made you dinner so you wouldn’t have to go out, or spent money with take out, and not because I want a free pass to go out” you clarified minimally rolling your eyes “And come on, it’s her bachelorette party, is important to the both of us” you gave him pleading eyes.

“Why is it so important to you? It’s her marriage anyways” he arched one of his eyebrows.

“Because we’re best friends, Rafe, and we’ve always dreamt about this part of life. I’m her bridesmaid, it’s important for us to be together tonight” you explained ending with a small pout.

“And where is this party happening?” he asked concerned and gave you a bit of hope.

“At the Country Club, Liza rented a private room there” you answered waiting for his reaction.

“Okay. I understand, love” he said simply, words followed by a kind smile.

“Seriously? You’re okay with me going?” you asked incredulously, your tone now almost too excited.

“Sure. But I’m going with you” he said naturally, earning a quick frown of your eyebrows.

“Oh Rafe-“ you laughed at his response, but stopped as soon as you saw him getting up and grabbing a towel from your wardrobe “Wait, what? You’re not being serious right now, are you?” your voice changing from panic.

“I sure am, darling. Why wouldn’t I be?” he stared at you smirking.

“Because it’s a bachelorette party, Rafe. A ladies party, no groom, no husbands and no boyfriends allowed. You can’t go with me” you scoffed with a light chuckle.

“Simple then, if I’m not going, you’re not going” Rafe stated seriously.

“What? This is so stupid!” you couldn’t help raising your voice a bit from anger “It’s just a group of girls going out to celebrate the last weekend of one of them being single. Just like the boys do. We’re just gonna eat, have some drinks, laugh together, it’s not a big deal!” you tried to convince him.

“Not a big deal, huh? Have you ever went to a bachelorette party? Do you know what the fuck happens in those kinds of celebrations?” he raised his strong voice, taking steps closer to you and pointing to your face, to make you let your guard down “It’s ridiculous, Y/n! I don’t know who else is invited, if they’re single or not, but I’m not the type of man to let my girl go to a party where the purpose is literally to be single for one night. I'm sure you won't just drink and laugh, things like this always involve stupid pranks, and even rent boys. And I don’t care if you’re going to be in a private room, the biggest audience at the Country Club are men, and I don't want my girlfriend walking around there, let alone without me and wearing a tight little skirt like this one. So if you don’t want me to go, you better join me for dinner here, at our home, because you are also not going” he spitted his lost of temper on you.

“Oh my fucking God, Rafe, you’re being so ridiculous right now” you sighed, almost running your hand through your face, but when you remembered it would mess up your make up, you moved it to you hair instead “You go out with your friends practically every once in a week! While I stay here to have dinner all by myself, sometimes I even get to bed alone because I get tired of waiting for you. And now I can’t go to my best friend’s pre-wedding party, which is something that won’t happen ever again, all because you’re jealous? This is bullshit, you have to trust me more, Rafe” you roll your eyes, turning your back to him.

“When did I said that I don’t trust you, babe? Of course I do, I don’t trust the others. And I’m not jealous, I’m just taking care of what’s mine” he came closer again, gently grabbing the back of your arm to bring you to face him.

“Rafe, please, it’s just this time. I never go out with my girl friends alone, and you know them, they’re not just some batshit bitches I met yesterday, we’ve been friends for years now. Plus, all of this ‘marriage rituals’ are something important to me and Liza, we’ve dreamed about this since we were kids, she’ll be so upset if I don’t show up, baby” you pleaded looking up at your boyfriend, praying he’d feel some empathy for your best friend.

“Then call her and say that you’re only going if your boyfriend can go too” he slightly shrugged, laughing as if was the most obvious thing ever.

“You don’t understand, Rafe, this is a no boys party, you can’t be the only partner in there, it’s gonna ruin our dynamic” you complained whining.

“See? How am I supposed to let you go on this shit if I can’t even know what you’re gonna do in there? No way, babe, I’m not changing my mind” he shook his head no, still holding you in place.

“But- Rafe, baby, please! I promise you I won’t do anything wrong, I even-“ you tried to plead again, almost desperately this time.

“No, Y/n. When I tell you no, it’s no. Is it so difficult for you to understand? Do want me to explain what a ‘no’ means?” he said sternly, so intensifying softly his grip on your arm.

“No, I get it, no need for that” you practically whispered, and he let you go “What about Liza tho? She’s waiting for me, it was important for her to have me there…” you said nipping on your nails.

“Well, she should’ve considered it before deciding on a traditional bachelorette party, she knows you have a boyfriend. Now just call her and tell her you're not going, that's it.” Rafe said while rummaging around his shirts on your shared dresser.

“That easy? And how should I say it? 'So honey, I can't go to the party we’ve planned for months because my possessive and overprotective boyfriend won't let me go out alone', can it be like that?” you ended up mocking him from how frustrated you actually were.

“Don’t fuck with me, babe” he mumbled the warning putting the clothes he chose above your bed “Just tell her that a no Rafe party, is a no Y/n party. We’re a couple, each other’s priorities, aren’t we? She will understand” he said while taking off his watch and his rings.

“Yeah, whatever, I’ll come up with something” you muttered with a sigh.

You dodged him, going towards your bedside table to grab your phone and dropping yourself above the silk sheets, taking a deep breath before texting Liza, saying that you weren’t feeling very well and thought it was better for you to stay home, telling her you were sorry for not being there tonight. Dropping your phone to your side, you sighed heavily and noticed how Rafe was watching you while he took off his dirty clothes.

“What?” you asked arching an annoyed eyebrow at him.

“I have to admit, now I feel such a shame that you got all dolled up for nothing” he pouted towards you, giving a small laugh after you rolled your eyes.

“Uh, yeah, no shit” you said under your breath, grabbing your phone again to see if there was anything that could entertain you now.

“Maybe if you hadn’t put so much effort on it, I could’ve let you out. But not like this, babe, uh uh. Too gorgeous to go around without me” he joked, still folding his clothes but never taking his eyes off of your figure.

“Yeah, sure” you wouldn’t even dare look at him right now.

“Aw come on, honey. Don’t be like that” he mewled, coming to sit beside you and putting your phone down “You know I just want to protect you. And plus, I can’t stand being here all alone while half of the island is drooling over my girl, yeah?” he smiled, leaning closer and kissing the back of your hand.

“Mhm, Rafe, go take your bath, I’m hungry and since you didn’t want me to go out, I’m not having dinner alone now” you mentioned your dissatisfaction, while trying to ignore his little touches and caresses.

“Actually, I was thinking that maybe we could go on a date?” he said kissing your neck and your jaw “Like right now. I take you to some fancy restaurant, so you won’t have spent hours getting ready for nothing, and I would also love to show off my beautiful girlfriend, show’em who gets to spoil you and call you mine, huh? What do you say?” he suggested, giving you the sweetest grin ever while moving your hair behind your ear.

“Dunno, Rafe, I’m really not in the mood for that anymore, I’m sorry” you answered with deep breath and a half-smile.

“That’s right, I get it, you’re only in the mood when is to go out with your friends, okay” he chuckled, making your roll your eyes just to earn a kiss on your cheek “But that’s fine, in this case we can stay home baby, and have our dinner together, just as you wish. I’m sure whatever you cooked is way better than food from any other restaurant” he smiled brightly.

“Yeah, it sounds good this way” you looked away, biting your inside lip to suppress a smile of your own.

“Sure, it does. And you wanna know something?” he waited for your reaction and as soon as you nodded he leaned to whisper closer to your ear lobe “I think is better for us to stay home anyways, cause ever since I entered this room and saw you dressed like this, I've been holding myself back from ripping it all off of you. So, I don't know if I could wait until we got back home” he smirked after moving his eyes from your lips to stare directly into your eyes.

“Rafey…” you whispered, doing your best to stare back at him, and not look at his lips or his hand touching ever so slightly on your thigh. Finally losing the posture you held onto since the beginning of your discussion.

“Don’t go all flustered now, babe, I know you liked it” he stole a quick peck from you before getting up from the bed “Now why don't you go over there and speed things up by setting our dining table, huh? While I take a shower to get rid of my work fatigue. I promise I'll make it up to you after dinner” he winked grabbing his towel again and going towards your bathroom.

“Okay, don’t take so long tho, I’m gonna miss you” you grinned shyly turning on your side to look at him.

“I sure won’t, love, gonna miss you too much too if I do” he grinned back making you blush “Now you, little lady-“ he leaned over the doorframe and pointed to you still on the bed in front of him “Don’t you dare taking those clothes off or ruining this make up before I come out, because tonight that’s my fucking job” he nodded before closing the door to take his bath in peace.

a/n: i think the whole dynamic in this one isn’t as toxic as in the first one, but the situation is just as fucked up, and yes, i thought about making the reader insist more in going out, and make them have a big argument, but the key from this universe is: rafe knows how to manipulate the reader, and his way of doing it is acting as normal and careful as he can, to make her believe that he does what he does because he cares about her, so she’ll always end up submitting to him. at the beginning of their relationship, she’d maybe be braver to confront him, but he manipulated her to believe that if she argues, she is the wrong one, because he acts this way to protect the woman he loves, and if she loves him back, she has to accept and submit to whatever he says or wants (all that and his super trunfo of make up sex ofc. anyways!!! hope u liked it, and if any of you want to see more of this, or make some other request, feel free to let me know :)

“You will be engaged to the Yashiro Commissioner, Y/n.”

“But Father, did he not reject me a few years back?”

“Well… this time, he was the one who proposed it himself.”

“Excuse me?”

“His name is Kamisato Ayato, he will be your husband when you grow up.”

It was like hide and seek. A secret you were meant to find as the other was kept hidden from your view. Or a surprise birthday celebration that you had never gotten to experience and only heard of from the stories you’ve read in novels that kept you company in exchange for people.

You never even saw his face and yet your parents told you that he was to be someone whom you will grow together with. At that moment, you thought that it was a good thing. You will be with someone. Great! At least you would not be alone anymore. At least, in the cold four corners of your room, a part of your heart was kept warm with the thought of someone who was promised to keep you company when the right time comes.

Until

“What? The Kamisatos’ did not accept it?”

“They said they value their child’s decision… what kind of family are they to reject us!”

“What should we say to Y/n now?”

“What do you mean? That is not what’s important right now! The Kamisatos’ dared to destroy our reputation!”

You remember how you stood behind the wall back then, clutching onto your pillow, about to ask your parents if you could sleep with them. You remembered having to realize a couple of things: Kamisato Ayato dislikes you and this marriage; that you were going to be alone once more; and that your family never cared about your feelings after all.

Status makes everyone mad. Status is what makes everyone think of foolish things, and you realized such a thing at a young age.

As you grew up, however, you came to a point that you didn’t care about it, but the name Kamisato Ayato still left a bad taste in your mouth—like the bitterness of a bitter gourd or the foul smell of smoke that came from when you were burning letters by the other clan members.

Despite this, however, you still have not seen his face. After all, as the youngest child of the Kujou, you mostly stayed inside the house. From what you knew, you were almost regarded as the “Hidden Jewel of Kujou”. With your sister and brothers being known to the public, while you stay on the sidelines, there began a rumor that the Kujou is quite overprotective of their youngest member of the family, even so far as speculating that you may just very well be the Head of the family in the future.

“Sister, can I go outside with you too?” you looked at Sara hopefully. Despite being a year apart and not being blood-related, she was the one who you trusted the most in your family. The only one, actually. But like others, there was no one who could help you.

There was no one who would help you.

A look of guilt flashes on her face once again—like many other times, and even without hearing her answer, you already knew what it was.

“Forgive me, Y/n. I don’t think Father would like that very much.”

Bidding each other goodbye, you stood by the door with your feet locked on the ground, following Sara’s form with your gaze as she exited the Tenryou Commission’s premises.

Anything, you wished, anything to make you get out of there, please let it happen. Even if it costed you your status.

Your wish came true quite fast, actually.

“Is this… a Vision?”

Your brows furrowed as you scanned your surroundings. It was late at night, and you were merely strolling around, as it was the best time to do so when the officers are not on guard on some premises.

And just then, you felt a presence behind you.

“Who’s there?” You turned, and there you saw a man clad in light clothing, hair in a rare shade of blue—or were they silver?—and a smile that you certainly have seen from anyone who knows the business. He looked surprised at first though, but almost as soon as the flash of lightning, he morphs it into a smile.

“Are you here for my father?” you questioned, still holding onto the Hydro Vision in your hand. “And is this yours? I just found this on the ground.”

“Are you perhaps Kujou Y/n? I have never seen you before, I am quite sure I’ll remember the face of someone like yours.”

You purse your lips together when you hear the man’s voice. He, you realized, had a kinder voice than anyone else who came to visit your father. But it was the fact that instead of answering your question, he asked you one instead that kept your guard up.

However, based on his attire, he did not look like a thief or anything like that. So maybe this person… is someone of the same status as you as well?

Looking away, you held out the Vision, “Here, it must have fallen off of you. It is now late, my lord, you should go and see Father if that is your intention here.”

He takes the Vision from you, but before he brings his hand away, you feel him turn your hand around—the vision still in between both of your palms—and you were just in time when you faced him to see him press a kiss on the back of your hand.

In an instant, you pulled your hand away, feeling your face heat up.

“E-excuse me?!” you exclaimed, but when you realized you did, you cleared your throat and changed your tone immediately, “Why did you do that… my lord?”

He did not answer your question (again), however, as he merely kept that sweet and gentle smile on his face before saying alluringly “May we see each other again, Kujou Y/n,” and turned around to walk away, even gracefully climbing on the walls and jumping down on the other side.

That was then that you realized that he probably wasn’t a guest.

But he is not dressed as a thief either.

Or do thieves dress that way nowadays?

Despite this, there was one last thought in your head that made your cheeks warm up unconsciously: you didn’t even get his name.

If anyone else hears this, all of Inazuma would look at the Kujou’s differently.

And actually, you did not care anymore.

The second time you saw him, he was heavily spent and injured.

It was a good thing you were alone once again and you hurriedly had to go and get something to treat his wounds with. Fortunately, you found some without being awfully suspicious of anyone inside the house.

“My lord, why must you come here once again?” you questioned him as you dipped the anti-infection on his wounds—they were not so big or life-threatening, but for a noble like him, this is something that could cause whispers all around town. After all, reputation is something that must be highly regarded around here. And reputation will always be connected to one’s status.

“I had an appointment.”

“An appointment? From my father?”

“No,” he kept his eyes to yours, “to you.”

“To me?” You blinked, “I did not know such an appointment was made, my lord.”

He chuckles, voice as gentle as the flow of water and firm as a tree, “Is it that hard to tell that I am here to see you just because I wanted to?”

Once again, he renders you speechless, biting your lip as your brows furrowed and feeling your throat dry up while you try to keep yourself busy with bandaging his wound.

“That…” you stutter—you’ve never really been in this kind of situation, have you? How do people normally respond to that kind of statement? Those weren’t tackled in your lessons at all!

Despite your lack of words, he was still able to formulate his own, even having that same charming smile on his face, “I apologize for catching you off-guard,” he says, “But I was merely telling the truth.”

You cleared your throat, but it was no use still. Despite this, you continued to treat his minor wounds. How did he get them? You wanted to ask, but as someone who also treated your brothers and sister from their own injuries, you knew better not to.

It was not your business, after all.

“Forgive me for letting you see me like this, this was not my intention…”

You smiled, “It’s alright. Even if you’re a stranger, I know I could trust you.”

“Why did you?” you accidentally looked into his eyes and you just stopped. Stopped your busy hands, stopped breathing, and stopped having a stable and normal heartbeat. “Why did you trust me?”

You then awkwardly chuckled, aware of how you had gotten mesmerized by his eyes, especially up close—had they always looked like this? Orbs that reminds you of sakura petals, just a tinge paler and more purple than a sakura petal’s real shade. Upon realizing these thoughts, you hesitatingly dropped your gaze to finish up the bandages to get done with it, “Because you have a Vision.”

“Does having a Vision tell someone else’s goodness to you?”

“Not really,” you say, pausing for a moment as you tie the bandage and pull away from him, “But the gods do.”

When you walked away that night, you thought of her.

As a Kujou, you believed in the gods. Especially the Raiden Shogun. For a descendant of this family, she is the savior of Inazuma, the hope of the nation, the sun that always and will always shine above everyone and bring light to them all.

As Y/n, however, you couldn’t help but wonder why this sun had never shown itself to anyone else except for special occasions.

Of course, it is true that she is a ruler, a person who is occupied with the things that she should take care of for the nation. It was understandable. But you wondered how alike you two were, and if this was really the fate of someone who was regarded by those around them. Was it unfair? You couldn’t tell. Were you both the same? You could only doubt.

You wanted to see people, wanted to see their smiles and help them directly as much as you could.

If that was what your Archon was feeling as well, then maybe you both were the same. But if not, you could only pray.

“Today is the day.”

The house was buzzing with murmurs and footsteps running around, bustling maids trying to do last-minute cleaning. Even your sister Sara was too busy to greet you good morning like usual.

“Why? What’s so special today?” One of the maids inquires to another, piquing your interest and catching your attention.

“Haven’t you heard? Today is the start of the Sakoku Decree. And the Master will be meeting with the other Commissioners to discuss something important.”

The Sakoku Decree.

You felt a pressure on your chest and the electric current that traveled through the tips of your fingers, hands stiffening at the mere mention of it.

You’ve heard this term in one of the discussions at dinner last time. It was a Decree to close the borders of Inazuma to anyone going in or out, and it will also confiscate Visions from Vision holders. The criteria? You’ll never know. Actually, no one does.

And as usual, those of status are probably safe from it.

Your face paled as you remembered the Hydro Vision you held a few weeks back, thinking upon that young man who was nothing more than just a stranger to you, but at the very least, he was the very first person who treated you like a normal human being.

For some reason, you worried more for him than your sister who also held a Vision.

Maybe status will save them? But at the same time, you did not know Raiden Shogun.

And you knew your father very well.

The lessons that have been taught to you throughout your life consist of singing, dancing, writing, reading, and of course, the most important of all, the art of pretending. Basically, you were taught how to act. If you could only go out, you would have wanted to try acting someday.

Those acting skills are useful in front of others—it teaches you how to pretend to be calm despite being displeased or any other emotions that are not needed in the situation.

Like in this one.

Light outfit with dark blue lines, pale blue hair that shone under the night sky last time you saw it, but this time, it proved to still stand out under the light of the sun, even the crowd.

And that Hydro Vision hung on the right side of his belt.

Ah, your heart skipped a beat, you should’ve known.

You should’ve known he was Kamisato Ayato—the Kamisato Ayato who is the youngest head of a family in Inazuma, the Kamisato Ayato who is the Yashiro Commissioner and the Kamisato Ayato who rejected the marriage proposal of your family years and years ago when you were still a child.

You smiled nonetheless, bowing properly in front of the Commissioners, including him.

“A pleasant morning, dear esteemed guests, welcome to the headquarters of the Tenryou Commission.” Your eyes met his, and you were so damn glad you took your acting lessons properly, “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kujou Y/n, youngest child of Kujou Takayuki. We hope we can serve you well in your visit today.”

“Oho~ Is this the so-called Jewel of Kujou? I did not expect a jewel to greet us here.” Hiiragi Shinsuke laughs, you let out a polite chuckle.

“You flatter me, Kanjou Commissioner. This “jewel” is but a mere human like any other under the rule of the great Raiden Shogun.”

The old man laughs again—he probably is either humoring you, mocking you, or is just amused.

You couldn’t care less.

“Takayuki raised his children well I see,” he then turns to the younger man beside him, “Don’t you think so, Yashiro Commissioner? Say, have you two met before? I heard you rejected the Kujou Clan’s marriage proposal years before! What do you feel now that you’ve seen the jewel right in front of you?”

This old man… is he rubbing it in your face?

Your smile was growing more forced and exhausting, but you held it in as you narrowed your eyes towards Ayato, who had that same innocent look on his face this whole time.

Before you could brace yourself, he said the word “Regretful” and your smile shattered into a million pieces.

Just in time, Sara came and you excused yourself before you could even cast another glance at him, leaving the confused Kanjou Commissioner and your sister who was then forced to escort the two to your father.

You’d probably have to thank her later for that.

“Are you here to play pretend in front of me again, Yashiro Commissioner?”

You turn to face the young man, still standing out in the middle of the grounds of your home, his light clothing and hair a huge contrast to the dark hues of the Tenryou Commission’s architecture. You’ve never noticed it before, as he had always visited during the night, but now that he did come when the sun was out, it was something that did not go unnoticed to you.

“I don’t think I’ve ever played pretend with you,” he pauses, “to be quite frank, you probably are one of few people I could talk truthfully with.”

You narrowed your eyes at him but before you could form a retaliation, your gaze drops to his Vision, dangling under the sunlight.

You look away. “The people of Inazuma must now face the tight rule of their god in the coming months. Everyone must stay vigilant, especially the Vision holders.”

You were not looking, but you knew he smiled at that.

“I suppose the youngest lord of the house is worried about my Vision? Please rest assured, I shall keep your words in my mind.”

You inwardly smirked, brow raising as you faced him, “Take that as you may, Yashiro Commissioner, but I don’t suppose there is only one Vision holder in Inazuma, do you?”

“You will be engaged to the Yashiro Commissioner, Y/n.”

“But Father, did he not reject me a few years back?”

“Well… this time, he was the one who proposed it himself.”

“Excuse me?” you lost composure, “I mean… I beg your pardon? Did you just say…”

“For some reason, it was him who proposed getting married this time. I don’t know his motives, but I don’t think joining two Commissions will prove negative to the Shogun’s plans. After all, it would only show the strengthening of the bond of the Tricommissions!“

As your father rambled on and on about his joy, you felt your resolve crumble down into pieces. Was this really happening?

And for once, you questioned yourself whether this is really something you wanted or did not. Your heart pounded, but was it of worry or something else?

You realized that this was something you could only answer if you accepted this engagement.

No matter how much you wanted to reject him the same way he did before, you just couldn’t find yourself doing so.

It was night again, and you had become accustomed with stepping out of your room as quietly as possible, slipping away from anyone still awake at that time, and locating yourself in the same place you first saw the Hydro Vision, and when you treated a ‘stranger’ without even asking why he was in that state.

You found yourself thinking of Kamisato Ayato, and ultimately, your engagement with him.

This was one thing you had wished for when you were a child—to be cared for, to be someone who was important, to be free from the high, dark walls of the Kujou household.

“I had always wanted this, but why does it feel so unreal?” You mutter to yourself—but not really, “Do you have any answer for this, my lord?”

There he was, standing far from where you were only to show himself away from the shadows into the brief source of light that illuminated his face.

Under the darkness of the night, your heart was calm, your shoulders were at ease, and your thoughts were very clear, even when he’s present—which was different when you both were under the glare of the sunlight and the blue skies.

“All I can say is, this is something I hope you can find in the coming days to come, Y/n.”

He holds out for your hand. Your eyes narrowed at his extended hand and briefly sighed, reciprocating it back when you extended your own. Unexpectedly but unsurprisingly, he kneels in front of you and places a peck on the back of your palm. The hold he has on your hand is so soft, almost like he was treating it like a

“If you would give me a chance, shall we start all over again?”

A smile plastered its way to your lips with a soft scoff.

“You know, I thought I’d hate that name for all my life.”

“What?”

“Nevermind,” you cut him off before he can ask further, clearing your throat. “Very well then, let’s start all over again, Kamisato Ayato.”

You know how to ride?!

The mission was terrible, it was draining not just physically but mentally. They brought up every single terrible thing they had ever done, every devastating memory and every important person in their life.

“We can’t go to the compound, it’s still full of the toxic material. And we shouldn’t go to a hotel or something. It’s just not save for anybody.” Tony said. Yeah to make it even worse HYDRA destroyed a lot of their home and drugged them to kidnapp them. Natasha, Tony and Clint had a terrible headache from the substance.

“great and where should we go? They know of my farm by now and I won’t risk my family like that.” Clint stated and started an argument with that.

It got to the point where nobody noticed Natasha stand up and fly the Quintjet. The arguing only stopped when they noticed that they landed in the middle of the woods. “Look widow, I know I said that this was an easy mission but you don’t have to kill me just because it wasn’t.” Tony kind of joked but the team could see that he actually was scared.

“Just shut up and follow me” so Nat, Tony, Steve, Bruce, Bucky, Clint and Wanda made their way through the woods until they saw a beautiful cabin.

“Is this your home?” Steve asked but didn’t receive an answer as Nat opened the door.

“Hun I’m home” she called out to see you sprint down the stairs into her arms. She picked you up and spun you around while kissing your check causing you to giggle. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” You asked her when she put you back down. “It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later” she said while looking back at the team. As soon as she turned back around you connected your lips with hers and kissed her passionately.

In that moment Romanoff forget everything, the team watching you guys, her headache and even all these terrible things that happened just a couple of hours ago. It was just the two of you in your perfect little world.

When somebody coughed you broke the kiss off and turned to them. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. Hey my name is Y/n and you guys must be Steve and Bucky and Bruce and you must be Tony right?” You said before walking to Wanda and Clint to hug them. These two knew that you existed and often visited you when Nat couldn’t.

“Yeah we are… I’m sorry this is crazy. Are you like her girlfriend?” Bruce asked while looking between you two. “Of course they are Bruce. Didn’t you just see their kiss?! Even more important why do these two know of you and we don’t?” Tony asked and it was clearly getting on his nerves.

“Well Tony because they are my friends and I knew they wouldn’t tell anybody and to you Bruce, she’s my wife not my girlfriend” she answered as she wrapped her arm around your waist with her hand on your belly. “And she’s caring our beautiful baby inside her so if any of you do ANYTHING to hurt her I’ll kill you.”

“Be nice. Well it’s late guys so, we have 4 rooms where you guys can stay so some of you have to team up and there are emergency cloths in every room and each one has a bathroom. So make yourselves at home and get a good night sleep.” You introduced and showed them the rooms.

After that you went to your bedroom to hear the shower and decided to join your beautiful wife. As soon as you opened the door of the shower you gasped. The skin was littered with bruises and cuts. “Natty, what happened?” You asked as you stepped into the shower, “you know how it is. It happens but I promise I’m fine” she promised you while pulling you closer. “You better be”

You turned Nat around and washed her hair before washing her body and pressing kisses to all the bruises. “You know that I should look after you right?” She asked as she started to wash your body her hands lingering on your belly. “You don’t know how happy I am to have you, the both of you of course” she told you before kissing your belly and then your lips.

The quick shower you anticipated turned into a full blown make up session that was only interrupted when you remembered that you still had to feet the horses. “Let’s get dressed and then I’ll come with you” your wife said before pulling cloths out of the closet. You laughed at her when she gave you one of your own hoodies and reached for one of hers. “This one is way comfier” you said and put on your cloths.

When the redhead was ready she wrapped her arm around your shoulder and you made your way outside to the small stable. You were sure to give them enough of their food and hay for the night before making your way back inside to go to sleep.

“Was this your only option tonight? Not that I’m complaining, I’m always happy to have you and your friends here but I’m just really surprised.” You asked as you head rested on her shoulder. “It wasn’t but the mission was really tough and I didn’t wanna be anywhere else but with you. So I decided to take the team here.” You couldn’t help but blush.

“Well you should go to sleep but maybe we can go for a ride tomorrow morning and you can tell me what happened alright?” So the two of you fell asleep and unknown to the both of you it was the first time they had a full night of sleep.

When the team woke up the next morning they didn’t find Y/n nor Romanoff which scared them at first. But when they decided to look outside they saw them riding along one of the trails with their hands linked talking about what happened.

“I’ve never seen Romanoff this happy” Bucky said while looking at them. It felt like the first time he saw a genuine smile on the Russians face.

“I don’t think anybody has. It is actually really cute” Steve said. “Well you guys maybe didn’t, but we saw her the moment she figured out that Y/n is pregnant” Clint laughed at Wanda’s comment but nodded nonetheless.

“Yeah yeah, but am I the only one who didn’t know that Natasha can ride horses?” Tony asked just as the two of you stopped in front of them. “Well stark, Y/n showed me how” she said when she landed on the ground and walked to Y/n to help her down.

“Hey I thought we could have a campfire tonight” you suggested to which the team responded enthusiastically. “Great then how about you guys get the wood ready for tonight while Natty and I get stuff to eat” when everybody had a job to do you guys got going.

You were wearing a cap with a B on it that your wife got you for your first date while she was wearing a cap with your first letter on it. It was a small disguise to make it less obvious. The ex spy loved shopping groceries with you, it made her feel domestic and at peace.

“So I go that way, you go that way and we’ll meet back here in 15 minutes?” She asked before pressing a quick kiss to your lips and disappearing. You made your way to get the stuff for her favorite food and desert. She was barely with you so you took every chance to spoil her when she was there.

The funny thing was Nat thought the same thing. She hated being away from you so she tried to make up for it by spoiling you. The problem is she couldn’t cook, so she had to make do. She brought your favorite candy, drinks, a stuffed animal she thought was cute and some of the things she knew you liked for breakfast and made a mental note to ask Wanda later.

So 15 minutes later you both met at the cashier and paid before walking to the car. “you don’t have to spoil me when I’m here you know” she said to you as she opened the door of the car for you. “You don’t have to either you know” you countered while grinning at her when she got into the driver seat. Her hand came to lay on your thigh as she started the car and made her way back.

The rest of the day was spent with prepping the food and getting to know each other. Natasha made Tony help her change the oil in your car while you and Wanda cuddled on the couch. You’ve always been clingy but since you’ve been pregnant you were extra clingy and always needed someone to hold on to which is why Yelena also often visited you.

“Maximoff, trying to steel my wife?” Nat asked as she walked back inside with Tony trailing behind her. “You know I wouldn’t dare, but treat her wrong and I’ll swipe her away from you” Wanda said grinning at you.

Your wife grumbled before going to wash her hands. When she came back Steve and Bruce had finished setting up the fire and called all of you out. You had some couches and armchairs outside which were really comfy. Bruce and Tony sat on one couch while Steve and Bucky sat on the one across from that. Clint and Wanda sat on the opposite side from you and Nat. The two of you shared a big armchair where you sat half on top of her with your legs hanging over the side and a blanket draped over you.

While you guys ate and talked you realized that this is something you wanted in your life. Not just once but permanently. You leaned your head next to hears and whispered into her ear. “I love your friends and I want us to do this way more often” it made your wife’s heart melt and her arms tightened around you. “Well then let’s do it”

The team decided to stay for a week and that whole week you and Nat were inseparable and completely in love that it made Tony want to throw up.

“How do the two of you stay in love like that?” Wanda asked you as you sat outside with Natasha asleep on your shoulder. It made you smile and press a kiss onto her forehead. “You’ll know when you meet the right person. Suddenly it’s not hard to stay in love. I could wake up to her beautiful face every damn day and I wouldn’t get tired of it. Once you meet them you’ll know wands. Trust me. And you’ll meet them.” You reassured her before hugging her as best as you could without waking Nat.

Quick facts about me that no one asked for:

Figured since I’ve posted more here and answered some asks, I would share some facts about me on my blog both BTS/Jikook related and non related.

1.) I became ARMY during quarantine era. A friend got me into them. After I watched their MMA 2019 performance I was blown away. She was a Yoongi bias so that is whose content I initially watched and gravitated towards. When I ventured out on my own and watched more performance stages and Run BTS I knew immediately that I was drawn to Jimin. Everything from his stage presence, gorgeous vocals and dance lines, funny and sassy personality, but also super empathetic and caring. He was it for me and still is. But I do love all seven of them. I could probably rank them in order of my “favorites” but Jimin would be number 1 without a doubt.

***super fun fact is that I actually first was exposed to BTS in 2017 :( that’s right, I could have stanned back then. I frequently kind of kidding but not really refer to this as my biggest regret. An undergrad in my research group was obsessed with them. She showed me a clip of them dancing and probably because I didn’t like her that much (she was friends with someone toxic) I chalked it up as so they sing and dance? Who cares. I ended up reconnecting with her later when I stanned and found out that she was a low-key TKK shipper and loved reading their fanfics. By that point, I was already sus of Jikook so we clashed and I don’t talk to her. 🤣

2.) That brings me to point number two. The most important: Jikook. I wish I could remember the first time I was like yep this is a thing but I don’t. I do remember the first Jikook moment that I was exposed to was their Black Swan pas de deux. I remember finding their chemistry palpable and bold of them to perform a romantic dance together but that was it. The more I watched Run BTS and being a Jimin bias I couldn’t help but notice JK too and their closeness. What was the nail in the coffin so to speak? The cliches. GCF Tokyo and Rosebowl did it for me and I’ve been endeared by them ever since.

3.) I’m a sort of Jikook fanfic writer on A03 who I guess is on a hiatus and has been for awhile now. I love fanfiction and have been reading it and writing it a little since I was like 12. I was never a RPF girlie until BTS but I view them as characters in a story because that is what they are when I’m reading or writing fics. Not the actual people.

4.) I’m asexual and probably aromatic to some extent too. Asexuality is so misunderstood, I could go on about it for days, but I’m not the authority on it by any means. I like the idea of sex in the abstract. Fanfics, great. M/M where I don’t feel inserted in the act, even better. I’m not a prude, I just don’t experience sexual attraction. The idea of looking at someone even the tannies and wanting to fuck them makes me uncomfortable and it’s something I can’t relate to and have never felt. I’ve had sex of course, but it’s never lived up to the hype for me. I can definitely live without it. As far as being aromantic that I’m not sure. I love the idea of romance or I wouldn’t be so smitten with Jikook and other cute couples. I don’t actively seek romance in my life. I don’t date or want to date. I haven’t had a crush on someone in like 10 years. I’m not opposed to it. Their gender wouldn’t matter to me but it’s not something I feel like I need in my life. 5.) I’m educated! I have a PhD in chemistry. I am on the Professor track and I teach organic chemistry. I spent 7 years in grad school combined for my masters and PhD.

So yeah! This way you know a little about me when you send in asks. I am terrible at formatting and use my phone only for Tumblr, so my blog probably won’t ever be pretty. I’m just here for connections and content that is more in depth than Twitter. Yes, I’m still calling it twitter. Sorry not sorry Elon.

Ooof I'm worried because they have such insanely amazing set up and chemistry plus something literally NO OTHER SHIP has with a bigender character but it seems that they're skipping over all their big moments? And they have time for them the episodes are so short the writers of the boys have done a fantastic jobs developing the friendships/relationships over their 3 seasons but those are different writers and a completely different show also the boys has always been 1 hour long like they never go under 56 minutes so they have more time for that growth. Idk seeing them not show us the night they actually got together and then they're just together? And then you film a scene of them talking about really essential things and then you.. cut it like what are we doing here exactly???

It’s insane how much chemistry Jaz has with London and Derek!! The fact that the main ship is queer and POC but we’re missing those important bits of development due to it being cut or the mind wipe.. certainly a choice.

(Putting the rest under a cut bc this is sorta long!)

I choose to be delusional, however, when it comes to Marie x Jordan.

The other three romantic ships went down. Imo Cate and Andre felt pushed/didn’t flow.. we’re introduced to Luke x Cate being the it couple only for him to die and then we get Andre and Cate fucking.. which I wasn’t surprised over because I feel like that’s something that’s common in media: the main guy dies and then his gf(or wife) and his bestie fuck.. and ofc they’re close because we’re led to believe they’ve always been good friends but then we later find out they’ve been secretly fucking the entire time and had feelings. We all know how that played out.

But regardless I just didn’t find them compelling.

Sam and Emma were cute but realistically I knew deep down it wasn’t gonna work out… and as the episodes progressed I didn’t like how their relationship was just Emma saying “Sam, calm down. Look at me.” She isn’t a pick me girl but that’s what their relationship was starting to give, very much her trying to calm her explosive man.. and I’m not faulting Sam because he’s really been through it and he’s well within his right to want revenge. But what he said to her was nastyyy and I’m just happy that she’s free from that because it was very quickly turning into a toxic ship

Marie x Jordan had a great build up. From rivals and teasing to Jordan fighting Luke for Marie, to them becoming acquaintances and teaming up, becoming friends with sexual tension, to then making out (+some more team up) and lastly Marie saving them.. it’s beautiful, it’s delicious. They’re the only ship to make it past s1… I’m really hoping they give us that development for s2.. more to look forward to at least . They better not drop the ball on them I swearrr bc we ride at dawn

Has anyone noticed that many heroes have weird or toxic girlfriends?

. I used to be a fan of this couple, but then I noticed that sometimes Annabeth can be a little bully to Percy....making fun of his intelligence....like she is superior and he would totally be lost without her. I just wanted to see how she would manage without him in Tartarus. She can be arrogant and bossy. In my opinion, I think she got really interested in Percy because of his powers....you know being the big hero stuff and....she was lonely after losing Luke, Thalia...and many other things that happened to her. Her fatal flaw is pride, so I guess she rarely apologizes for her mistakes and learn from them. I don't blame Percy for having insecurities to express himself because he gets afraid of Annabeth's reaction...and the jealous thing with Rachel....everyone already felt jealous...but treat someone bad just because of it and not even apologize to the person? This is totally creepy....If I had a friend like Annabeth, totally obsessive and possessive of me...I would keep my distance from her. If I'm not mistaken, Annabeth even made Percy ask her to dance...is this serious? Because I don't remember from the book....grateful for that...but still...If a guy doesn't ask you out, don't make him do it. Dance alone...love yourself first... it's better than humilate yourself for a man...and he can do whatever he wants to do...he doesn't have to dance with a girl only because she ordered him to do it...

Marinette is a sweet person, but sometimes she can be a creppy stalker. She even planned her future with Adrien who didn't even know her that well at the time. She even stole his phone. I see her character a little boring and forced sometimes. I never liked her as Ladybug because she was always bossy and boring...and sometimes even cold to Chat Noir. I don't like how they put the two together...her as someone smart and powerful and him just Chat Noir, the sidekick...the friend...the most important second hero. I think the best episode was Chat Blanc, when he used his power and she was gone. But her other version appeared to save the day...as usual....and I think she can be selfish too, especially to Adrien. Both remind me of Percy and Annabeth...I even stopped watching the series because of Ladybug.

I'm a big fan of this couple, but still....in all universes, Lois keeps something from her personality...that she is always bossy and arrogant...and sometimes a little boring. But I guess it may be Clark's style because there is another man with the same personality....

Sometimes, Lois Lane can be a little annoying; obsessive and possessive of Superman. I know that she fell for Superman because of his values, but I think deep down she fell for his powers and beauty too...and she treated Clark like she was superior to him....

She looks like the only nice version of Annabeth. Well..depends on the universe too...because she was a villain in one reality...and at least in the new superman and lois series, she fell for Clark first 😊

For me, Iris is a bad version of Lois Lane. She can be annoying, bossy and boring. I don't think that Barry and her have a lot of chemistry. She bothered more the team than helped. Sometimes, she can have her great moments. She even jumped from a building to try to save Barry. She could have died. So, yeah....she can be good. But, still..."Savitar only had one job...only one job" 😅🤣

My friend wanted to watch rnm, but didn't want to sit through all 7 seasons- so I decided to make a list of the best/most lore important episodes that way they could enjoy the show without watching the whole thing. Red = episodes that are lore important Orange = not crucial for understanding the lore, but establishes character relationships and/or a consistent reference in the series yellow = episodes I'm personally a fan of (these are purely just recommendations for my friend, feel free to skip them)

s1e1 Pilot - first episode of the series, I'm sure this one is self-explanatory LOL s1e5 Meeseeks and Destroy - First Morty adventure, Introduces Meeseeks and "ricks catchphrase" (reoccurring), and does a good job of showing Beth/Jerry's relationship s1e6 Rick Potion #9 - Rick & Morty's dimension hop s1e7 Raising Gazorpazorp- sexy robot episode (my friend wants to watch this okay) s1e10 Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind - Introduces citadel s1e11 Ricksy Business - We meet a couple of Ricks close friends, some fun time stuff, and the season finale!! s2e1 A Rickle in Time - I couldn't really decide whether or not to keep this orange or red, since technically this specific ep isn't crucial to the understanding of the show. HOWEVER, still totally watch it because it wraps up the conclusion to season 1 AND its a great episode generally! s2e2 Mortynight Run - Introduces the Jerry daycare and Blips and Chitz (reoccurring) s2e3 Auto Erotic Assimilation - Introduces Unity s2e5 Get Schwifty - Introduces President, Learn more about Birdperson s2e9 Look Who’s Purging Now - Not plot relevant or brought up again in the series, but this episode has some Morty moments that I really like s2e10 The Wedding Squanchers - Meet the federation!! s3e1 The Rickshank Rickdemption - More citadel fun! And also szechuan sauce, very important. s3e3 Pickle Rick - Yes I'm putting pickle rick on here. This episode introduces Dr. Wong who's both a cool character and reoccurring. Although I wouldn't say this episode is as important as the other oranges, so If you really wanna skip it- go for it s3e6 Rest and Ricklaxation - TOXIC RICCCKK s3e7 The Ricklantis Mixup - More Citadel adventureeess! (<- Also this is where that fat Morty and lizard Morty GIF came from, thought you'd like to hear that) s3e8 Morty’s Mind Blowers - idk what to write for this one I just really enjoy this episode LOL s3e9 The ABC’s of Beth - We get an update on how Jerry's life is going, also some fun Beth development stuff e4e2 The Old Man and the Seat - big bad doo-doo daddy s4e10 Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri - More federation stuff, and we get an update on clone beth s5e1 Mort Dinner Rick Andre - This one isn't THAT important of a watch so if you wanna skip it you honestly can, but we do get to meet Mr. Nimbus and find out what happens to Jessica. s5e8 Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort - Bird person update ALSO MEMORY RICCCCKKK s5e9 Forgetting Sarick Mortshall - Rick and two crows show s5e10 Rickmurai Jack - Citadel fun and also more of the extra sexy crow rick s6e1 Solaricks - MEET PRIME! s6e2 Rick: A Mort Well Lived - I haven't watched diehard which makes this episode funnier to me s6e3 Bethic Twinstinct - okayy I'll be honest, a lot of people dislike/feel weirded out by this episode (me included) but I still think it's worth including for contextualization because this ep explains why space beth's has a reoccurring presence in the family. So watch at your own discretion LOL s6e8 Analyze Piss - ignore the goofy ass title, because it is REALLY good. I love this ep so much s6e9 A Rick in King Mortur’s Mort - This episode isn't really lore important and doesn't introduce any reoccurring characters, BUT the adventure itself is referenced later on s6e10 Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation - rick with a stubble and boxers on (very important) but no seriously, this episode is important s7e1 How Poopy Got His Poop Back - Some Rick/friend shenanigans, also we get a brief update on birddaughter s7e3 Air Force Wong - Not really thaatt lore important? But we do get an update on unity which is super sweet s7e5 Unmortricken - "OH SHIT, Evil Morty! Should I get the net?" s7e9 Mort: Ragnarick - this episode is very very fun and also where that image of rick being crucified comes from ANYWAYS THATS IT! Season 7 still hasn't ended, but it ends later this week so I may or may not update the list for that. If anybody has any critiques/changes I should make to this list, please let me know!

Just watched final episodes of Buffy and my spuffy heart is insanely happy about Spike's speech in touched and how Buffy finally seems to understand just how much she means to him.

And you right, the Bangel kiss was so forced and Buffy basically told him to get out of her show 'cause she had a new man lmaoooo

Spuffy in "Touched" is on a whole other level of greatness. Everything about Spike's speech to Buffy is perfect.

For starters, Spike told off everyone for being absolute dicks to Buffy and daring to kick her out of her own home and wander through a completely apocalyptic Sunnydale by herself. Not wanting to go along with her plan was one thing, but stabbing her in the back like that was horrible - and Spike calling them a bunch of sad traitors was PERFECT (plus, him giving Giles a piece of his mind after the plot to kill him was so satisfying).

Spike is just so sweet to Buffy during the entire conversation - with the ocasional "You're insufferable for not believing how awesome you are" and "Want me to kill Faith for you? 'Cause I would totally kill Faith for you."

(Compared to the time Angel told Buffy to get out of his show because he had a new slayer girlfriend, and it's just soooo clear who Buffy and Angel should be dating instead of each other XD)

The most important part of the speech is not even how it makes Buffy understand the depth of Spike's love for her, but how, like he said, he truly understands her like no one else did.

"I love what you are, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength, I've seen the absolute best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy"

Spike was Buffy's sworn enemy, reluctant ally, willing ally and supportive friend, toxic boyfriend, sweet boyfriend she mistreated, and now he is her champion, the one that will help her save the world - again. OF COURSE he knows her in a way nobody else did.

Him calling her "the one" - both as in "his one true love" and "the chosen one" - is also perfect, because Buffy's entire conflict is feeling she will never have a fullfiling life, with meaningful relationships, because, like the first slayer said "The slayer doesn't walk this world" and "death is your gift." She fears she's too much of a hero to be a person.

And then in comes Spike. The dude that regularly calls her just "Slayer." The guy she's treated worse than she ever treated anyone else (including herself, which is saying a lot) BECAUSE of her struggly to deal with being the Slayer AND in love with anyone, let alone a souless vampire.

And he just embraces both sides of her. The kind, vulnerable girl longing for connection. The ruthless, powerful hero that doesn't need anyone. He LOVES both sides of her.

But, more importantly, said love is at it's most selfless on that moment.

"I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not 'cause I want you, or 'cause I can't have you. It's got nothing to do with me"

It doesn't matter that Buffy isn't perfect, that she mistreated him in the past, that she feels she doesn't deserve him. Hell, it doesn't even matter if she can't reciprocate Spike's feelings (even though we know she does). He still loves her, and his love will always be hers regardless of anything and everything.

Spike is being incredibly honest and vulnerable in this scene - and it allows Buffy to finally accept not only his love for her, but to give him her heart too.

I've already said over and over that I don't think Seeing Red worked, but my God, it is such a big deal to have Buffy ask Spike to come to bed with her after it, especially since the episode deliberately compares it too all the other couples in the show having sex. It's the proof that she has not only forgiven him, but also managed to fully trust him to never hurt her again (remember her saying to Giles "You sent away the one person who's been watching my back" and her chosing him as her champion instead of Angel).

But THE thing that makes me insane about this moment, and that the Spuffy fandom surprisingly doesn't talk about nearly enough, is the implications of their conversation about their night of cuddles.

Everyone is always going on and on about how that was the best night of Spike's life, and how that would have been his moment of "perfect happiness" if he was under the same curse as Angel - yet I haven't seen nearly enough people going crazy over tha fact that Buffy then confirms to Spike that SHE FELT THE SAME WAY, IT MEANT JUST AS MUCH AS IT DID TO HIM.

Buffy went through hell that night, as being pushed away by all of her loved ones confirmed her worst fears - and it was still what led to her moment of "perfect happiness" just because Spike was there to support her through it all. She even goes as far as saying she only got the weapon that will help her defeat the bad guy because of the strength Spike gave her that night.

Also, the way she gently touches his face during that talk, AAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Anyways, they are soulmates and if you don't agree, you're wrong.

Anonymous because I don’t want anyone to potentially see this and harass me.. but I’m just so disappointed with this fandom. And tbh, I blame it on ACOSF.

In my opinion, ACOSF really ruined all of the IC characters. And since it’s the last book or the series thus far, people cling to it religiously.

I don’t think SJM really did Nesta justice in her story. I never truly hated Nesta. I felt like her character, while let’s be honest pretty bitchy, was in fact hiding pain through sharp words. Hurt people hurt people. This is a very real world response to trauma. And while we see that, I just felt her journey of training and fucking did not do enough justice. The fact the IC only really “forgave” her for her actions when she saved Feyre/Rhys/nyx is somewhat of a testament in my eyes. Other than Cassian (and Elain from what Cassian mentioned how she understood what Nesta was doing everytime), it felt that she was still misunderstood. That she’s just this mean person. What I wanted for Nesta, other than feeling like she was important and deserved good things, was for the understanding to seep in with all of the characters. And she deserved a real romance. I think the fact it was physical first really took away the romance of Nessian, and honestly sometimes I wasn’t even sure they liked each other, until they had their confession of feelings on solstice. It felt forced sometimes and completely physical.

ACOSF sidelined Feyre completely, made Rhys a villain to half the fandom, made Cassian not a likeable love interest for me and not the funny comic relief character, made Elain more firy which isn’t bad because I guess it’s leading to her story, made Amren a bitch too tbh and Mor. Like she just completely fucked the whole ic with this book imo… and Emerie is a great character as well as Gwyn. Gwyn was retconned in order to ensure Nesta had two female friends. Their characters were really important to Nesta being able to just be herself without history involved. But something I wished we saw was the Archerons hashing out their feelings and trauma. Maybe that will happen in the next book.

It felt like ACOSF added nothing to the plot. Yes, we got the troves but it felt somewhat out of place. A lot could have happened involving the grand scheme of ACOTAR. It’s almost like CC3 needed to come out to answer the questions we didn’t have answered in ACOSF so that we could skip over like 300+ pages of plot.

The smut felt forced, and while “put your hands on the headboard” is definitely a giggle moment, their physical moments were just… not romantic. And I think Nessian deserved more than smut. (This is my personal opinion). Like how did we go from “I don’t have any regrets in this life. My only regret is that we did not have time. That I did not have time with you Nesta. I will find you in the next life.” To.. “I didn’t ask to be shackled to you either”…… it felt very out of character. Not to mention Cassian was still calling Mor beautiful? I don’t dislike Cassian, but I just felt it was very out of character. Or maybe I just had a different headcanon from the original series. Maybe it’s my fault.

For all Nesta went through, I think she deserved more in her book. And so did Cassian. I feel like I don’t know him at all. They had their moments, but there was a lot that wasn’t there. I do ship them because I do see the golden retriever and black cat dynamic, and I love it, and they are the warriors. But I just wanted them to really be happy. Maybe it was the reluctant mates trope that made it difficult to do. Idk. But it makes me worried for Eriel (if that’s what it’s going to be) because I feel like Azriel being a “freak” in bed will once again overpower the actually romance of the couple. Like smut ≠ romance to me. It heightens it for sure, but there needs to be the emotional ground work.

Overall I think ACOSF really twisted the fandom, and it’s lead to this very toxic environment if I’m being honest with ships. I see countless posts hating Rhys, Feyre, Elain, Az (because of his desires etc).. like the fact people are shipping Eris with Nesta instead of Cassian shows how Nessian did not stick after their book. Tbh I felt Eris was more interesting than Cassian a lot of the time.

But ya. Sorry for the long rant. I’m sure lots of this isn’t even explained well because it’s hard to get out my feelings. Like I don’t even want to read the book again in my re-read. I think Nesta was put in cc3 to make up for her book tbh. And Az because of the bonus. Like finding out about Nesta’s powers in CC3 and not her own book…? I think SJM just realized she kind of fucked up. I’m just hoping with the next ACOTAR novel that she doesn’t make the same mistakes. Maybe she just felt rushed to get Nesta’s book out of the way in order to get to Elain’s. Or that it completely was taken over by her own healing journey. Which is not a bad thing at all, it provides the real world ground work, but it also took away from Nesta. But either way, I think personally Nesta deserved better than that. Because I think her character is important and strong. Past just being a warrior. There are a lot of older sister themes that could have been involved in her book. And it just missed the mark. And that’s why I think the “valkayrie” sticks out so much. Because that was the only memorable part of it. Not even Nessian was.

I pretty much agree with everything. Whatever SJM had originally planned for Nesta and for Nessian wasn't what we got in ACOSF.

Overall, it was boring and repetitive, and lacked in any depth. The pregnancy plot was ludicrous and the fact that you have your 500+ year olds losing their shit over a contrary and mouthy 25 year old just makes me want to roll my eyes. I just want to tell everyone to grow up. The writing and their 'reasons' was clunky. You gonna tell me that Rhys the Billionaire, the Elon Musk of Prythian, is gonna lose his mind over $500?

Some other stuff doesnt make sense either--how are the Archerons not the heroes of Prythian. Elain and Nesta slew the king, Feyre reforged the Cauldron, and it seemed like no one cared about that? Not one Fae? Second time Feyre saved their world and nothing? She is just back in Night Court like nothing's happened?

Where were the negotiations which were happening at the end of ACOWAR?

900 pages and the plot didnt move anywhere in ACOTAR. You needed Bryce and half of HOFAS to explain what the heck was going on in Prythian.

My personal pet peeve is that it seems none of these people have jobs, except for Azriel.

I dont understand how a general of an active army has this much time on his hands to train random women for hours every day and then have sex for hours every day. Why is no one doing any work? I think this idleness also contributes to frustration--why are you harping on Nesta and calling her a waste of space, when you all literally do NOTHING, other than build houses.

It's a messy, plotless book and i feel like it definitely contributed to the discord in the fandom. It's so needlessly divisive, and the fact that it lacks an antagonist also makes it super frustrating, because it all just feels pointless.

Is this what having an existential crisis feels like?

Yesterday, I posted the following on a number of my social media sites:

I decided to write a post here instead of tweeting/posting about this because (1) I don't have to worry about breaking up what I want to say into smaller tweets/posts and (2) I can then just post a single link to each of my social media sites rather than reproducing the thread on each site.

As I think about it, I'm starting to think it might be more accurate to say I'm having an existential crisis over my online presence, whether I even want to continue it, and what I want it to be like. After all, it's something that has been building over quite some time. In fact, it probably goes farther back than what I'm going to discuss today.

A lot of it started to really come to a head as Twitter (I will never call it "X" even if Evil Big Bird threatens to delete my account if I don't stop calling it "Twitter") really began circling the drain. People not only started making exit plans, but began to execute them. Many friends and acquaintances have announced that they either do not feel safe remaining there or cannot in good conscience support the site by their continued presence. I have not joined them, but I understand and respect the decision they made.

To me, the most frustrating part of this, however, is that everyone's exit plans are different. Some of the people I follow now hang out on Blue Sky. Some are on Threads. Some are on Instagram. Some made one Discord server or another their home. Some came here to Tumblr. There's no longer a single place I can go to keep in touch with all these wonderful people who mean something to my life. And while I've tried to keep a presence at many of these places, it's stretching me thin and I don't think it's a sustainable course of action for me in the long run. So while I'd never ask any of these people to stay in a place they find too toxic and harmful just for my convenience, I'm most sad that the death of Twitter is turning into a veritable "Tower of Babel" moment.

In the long run, I'm just going to have to choose which sites I feel I can and should focus on and accept the reality that I'm going to have to say goodbye to some people -- or at least not remain quite as close to them as I might have been at one point. And choosing who to say goodbye to by nature of where I limit my own presence too also weighs on me. These are choices I'm not going to enjoy.

Add to this the fact that I'm feeling a bit lost for a direction for my continued online presence. I'm not sure what I want to talk about anymore. There are a growing number of days I'm not sure I have anything to talk about, if I'm being honest.

I don't feel that I"m a hugely creative person most days. I have a few great ideas. I think those some of those ideas are pretty important. For example, I think that my past discussions about changing our understanding of what it means to call someone or something "sacred" was incredible. (Though I'm also finding it's far from original to me.) I'm glad I did a couple Twitter threads and (I think three) YouTube videos on the subject.

But the idea that calling someone or something sacred is to acknowledge that it has inherent value that cannot be given or taken away is not exactly a complicated topic. I'm not sure I can say much about the topic that I haven't already said. And I'm not the kind of person who can just keep repeating myself (and that's what it would feel to me like I was doing at this point). I'd start to feel silly and talking just for the sake of saying something.

The one site I seem to still be going pretty well on -- and it's a somewhat new one for me -- is Quora. I seem to be doing okay there because I can answer questions. I particularly like answering theological questions. Mainly because like in so many places, the theological questions largely seem to focus on Christian theology (and certain specific "brands" of Christianity at that). I like answering those questions in a way that bring my Norse polytheistic views to the table, reminding people that there are other ways to tackle the "big questions" that even challenge some of the assumptions of (most notably evangelical) Christianity.

I haven't found much interest in that level of discourse on the social media sites. It's also one of the reasons that I've been drifting away from the deconstruction communities I've been involved in the past year or so. They're still mainly focused on theology from a Christian standpoint. That's fair, since a lot of people in those communities are still Christian and trying to figure out how to rescue their faith from the toxic theology they were originally stewed in. And even those who have no interest in remaining Christian tend to be only interested in theology insofar as it relates to processing the harm they received from that toxic theology.

I've considered just focusing on Quora for this reason, though I'm not convinced that's the right answer. And even there, I start to wonder if I'm doing anything worthwhile.

Writing Tips: Advice on writing romance

Here are a few tips I think are important when you’re incorporating romance into your stories. This might be more helpful if romance isn’t really your cup of tea, but you still feel obligated to introduce it into the plot. Whether it be to include a happy ending for your story, or a way to add drama.

Hope this helps.

1. Take your time

Okay...maybe don’t take that much time, but you get the idea. When it comes to romance, most people want to be wined and dined. Readers don’t like rushed relationships. But at the same time, they like to feel like they’ve worked for it. Your readers want to go through your novel, experience the events leading up to the romantic relationship, all so they can get to the payoff. In other words, they want to see them kiss! Or, they want to see the main character (MC) stopping their love interest before they can board the plane. They want to see your MC overcome whatever was holding them back from chasing what they always wanted.

For romance, it appears that the classic slow burn is superior. Even I can attest to being partial to it. For me, the best part of a story is the build up to the relationships (romantic or platonic). I love seeing the characters fumble over their feelings, and their conflicting ideologies, as they find a way to let certain people enter their lives. It’s a natural and beautiful thing to be able to watch relationships blossom into a lovely flower. Especially when they started off as a tiny seed.

2. Include subtle clues

My favorite part about watching a show, or reading a book, is backtracking. I love analyzing all the little hints the author sprinkled in the story to foreshadow the approaching relationship. When these clues are delicately woven into a story, it always shocks me when people complain about it being “rushed”. When accusations like this arise, it’s important to notice the position writers put their characters in.

A great example would be Dani and Jamie from The Haunting of Bly Manor. During one episode something triggers Dani into recalling a past trauma, so she rushes out the house to get some privacy. It looks like she might be having a panic attack; she’s breathing heavy, like she can’t quite catch her breath. Then, of all people, Jamie’s the one who comes across her while she’s doing chores. Jamie puts aside whatever she was doing, and comforts Dani until she catches her breath and calms down.

After I saw that scene the first thing I said was, “I ship it.” Successful romance comes down to placing certain characters in specific scenes. Having your MC be there for their love interest during their most vulnerable moments.

It’s all about placement.

3. Let them grow together

Everyone loves a good power couple. If you plan on keeping them together throughout your series then show how their futures might be aligned with each other. And if they’re not aligned, show how they go about making their relationship work in spite of it. If character Y was a selfish person at the start of the story, imagine how impactful it will be when they risk everything for character Z.

Show the readers how they helped each other become better individuals. Or maybe you want to do the opposite. Maybe their relationship is toxic, and you want to showcase how they aren’t right for each other; show the negative changes that have arisen because of their relationship.

4. Make them treat their love interest different than anyone else

This ties into what I mentioned before about letting your MC and their love interest be vulnerable with one another. This is an aspect many people can relate to. When you get in a relationship, you’re allowing yourself to be vulnerable. You’re also different with them than you are when you’re with friends or family.

For example, if your MC loves food and absolutely, under no circumstances, would ever share their food, use that to your advantage. Imagine your MC enjoying a nice meal with their love interest, and a group of other close friends. Then, all of a sudden, the love interest reaches over and takes a bite of the MC’s limited edition spicy burger. The entire table goes silent. Everyone expects the love interest to lose a leg or for the MC to dump them on the spot, but instead the MC is perfectly calm and accepting of it. Well, unless we’re talking about Joey from Friends.

5. Give them a love language

When words aren’t enough, how do they communicate with each other? And most importantly, how does this language help move the plot forward in desperate times? For example, let’s say there’s a classic enemies to lovers trope going on. The MC (the good “guy”) and their crew are captured by the enemy and are tied up somewhere on the outskirts of the enemy base. It’s late at night so there’s a nice campfire to keep them warm, and the person guarding them is getting tired so a shift change happens. The new guard is, you guessed it, said enemy turned lover. The lover takes their post and whistles a certain tune - a song the MC and them bonded over for the first time. The song tips the MC off that help is coming, and they rest much easier throughout the night.

6. Predictable isn’t always bad

Sure, having surprising twists and turns make a story great, but there’s a satisfying aspect a reader feels when a certain couple FINALLY kisses and they’re allowed to say, “I knew it!” An extreme example could be those Hallmark movies they play on repeat during the Holidays. One of my friends, who is a hopeless romantic, adores Hallmark movies even though she knows exactly how it’s going to end. The plot is predictable, but people love it anyway. While it’s not my favorite genre to watch, I can admire it because sometimes you just want them to kiss without having to wonder whether or not one of them will survive the approaching zombie apocalypse.
