The Kingdom of Aetheria, within the world of Arvandor, is a nation ripe with history. King Lysander du Aetheria rose up and led the fledgling Aetherian Army against The Forsaken One— Herald of the Abyssal Uprising— and came out victorious when everyone else had failed. With his victory, Lysander placed Aetheria as one of the key pillars of keeping Arvandor safe; allowing for peace to reign over the continent for centuries.
Peace, however, was never meant to last.
The Order of Netheron, Followers of The Forsaken One, had captured you at the tender age of fifteen, holding you captive for a decade within a tower only labeled as “The Spire”. All due to their wish of resurrecting their fallen deity— something that they believe could only be accomplished by using the blood of King Lysander’s descendants; it was a ritual that didn’t go as planned— one that did bring back their deity, but only for your eyes and ears only; the both of you attached to the other in a way that probably wasn’t intended.
And that’s how you spent the last decade of your life… Growing used to the presence that now appears whenever the time calls for it. It isn’t until your twenty-fifth year that you’re finally found and taken back to Aetheria, to everything you had long thought you’d lost.
Your time in the sun, however, was short-lived as the tidings of an even darker uprising was beginning to grow— one that threatens to demolish everything and everyone.
Can you figure out how to save your home?

Tumblr media
Astorian/Astoria du Aerilon: The Heir to Aerilon, and the person that was your betrothed from the time you were seven until your disappearance. Astorian/Astoria spent every winter with you, and you every summer with them, in hopes that a union between the both of you would bring your countries together. You remember many things from that time of your life: their warm laugh, brazen attitude, arrogant smirk, and their inability to stay still for long. Meeting them again? It simply proves how much can change in a decade. [Can choose to have been in an almost relationship with them or still rivals.]
William/Wilhelmina du Arvandor: A recent addition to the Holy Order, who has an iron-clad need to help and be of assistance to anyone that may require it. Being a Paladin has been something they’ve strived towards for the last eight years of their life; training being second to nothing. It’s simply a mere coincidence, or the Divine’s Will, that their first major mission was to rid Arvandor of the last dregs of Netheron… A mission that brought them to The Spire, with a small band of warriors, to carry out that very task— wherein they find the Lost Heir of Aetheria. You.
Gabriel/Gabrielle Adair: Being renowned within the arcane arts, having achieved the rank of High Mage within the Aetherian Institute of Magic, it’s of little surprise that the royal family of Aetheria would call on someone with their skill set— if it weren’t for the scandal that still plagues them. You’re not sure what could have been so bad that would force them to retreat within themself like they have, especially if your parents had seen them fit enough to tutor you, but it’s obviously something that weighs heavily upon them. Will it be possible to wrangle out the secrets of their past when you’re still trying to figure out your own gift?
Ilyran/Ilyria Caelestis: The Forsaken One, an individual that’s visible only to your eyes from a ritual gone wrong. There isn’t much you can glean from them, after all you can only take what they say with a grain of salt, but the shadows that lurk within their eyes has nothing to do with the darkness that now lives within them. It’s hard sometimes to look at what they’ve become when you’ve seen what they were in Old Texts, when they weren’t the Forsaken One, weren’t the Divine’s Disgrace… When they were simply Ilyran/Ilyria Caelestis, High Priest/Priestess of the Holy Order.

Tumblr media
this month’s banner theme is tennis boyfriends! lol. when i saw it, i knew it would fit, cause this month was also when WYB went for the lacoste show and most interviews was him talking about tennis. and who is the other actor who mentioned this sport too? another coincidence! why is it always them? 😂😂😂 from new au pairings, coins, similarities and kadian drama— this month delivered the goods to us!
time to review and look back at the delicious candies we ate this month:
• the bone necklace potentially getting replaced because of some anti rumors and what it means.
• circle elements in xzs vlog is a nod to cpf comments that have yellow circles
• lacoste and bjyx
• yibo shows cpfs some love at chanel pfw
• here are some other pfw minor clownery. 🌸
a nice detail seen in his clothes/jacket are red and green flowers. you all know how we feel about red and green in this fandom. yeah, this must be a stylist’s choice blah blah blah but that just how cpns work. and it’s so cute too!
Tumblr media
descendants of the sun parallel! please! you all know i’m weak for this shit. chenwei will always reign supreme, but what if chen yu decides to go full on army or whatever.
Tumblr media
i also found it funny how fans are noticing the difference with their clothes. xz was revealing in his own way & wyb was all covered up. of course these are two different brands so the clothes and everything will not be the same. but that’s actually what’s good about them, how different they are. and yet— they complement each other really well and have the same values in life. they try and learn what the other person’s interest is so they can have a better relationship. 🤍
Tumblr media
posing with their female seatmates 🤣🤣🤣
Tumblr media
• a similarity we noticed too was that wyb was on his phone before the lacoste show, and it reminded us of how xz was doing the same at gucci mfw. i think we went 👀 because for xz, we were already clowning that he was messaging wyb or reading message from him then something similar happens to wyb. it could be a completely different thing and who can blame them for checking their phone while on “downtime” — but let us be with our fake story from these two incidents 😌😌😌
• on 3/5 chang feng po lang released a new character poster for wyb’s character wei ruolai. because of it, a new AU pairing was born. wei ruolai x patient #5. i swear. their characters look good together! some also pair wei ruolai up with xiao sa or chunsheng 😂😂😂
i have to say younger chunsheng before he went to military and ruolai match so well together!
Tumblr media
• same answers on fashion week interviews: comfortable dressing & the color black
• another perspective on the coin that appeared in zz’s vlog - relation to wei ruolai and war of faith trailer this is further “proven” when wei ruolai’s character posted was revealed and he was tossing a coin. look, i know it’s highly unlikely that the whole concept was a way to tease us with WYB’s drama. but it’s a nice double meaning and more! 🪙🪙🪙
• since there is a new character out for one of them, another new AU pairing was born! wei ruolai x xiao chunsheng 🤍🤍🤍
• the two of them being featured at vogue website as stand outs during their respective fashion week appearances. it’s not really cpn but more on them being the power couple 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and i’m just so proud of them. years later, they still shine so bright and it has no signs of even fading.
Tumblr media
even with weibo engagement, both of them were on top during their respective events. no one could even come close. and why, it’s so hard for them to work together, or why no one would allow that to happen cause it will be game over. lol.
• our dearest tennis couple 🎾 ; this has become more prevalent in the fandom because of wyb’s lacoste ad!
• the inception possibility - tbh i’m just desperate to relate this movie to them and a cpn 😂😂😂
• the collab between cotti and dove - this is most likely a business movie that has no input from xz and wyb. these are big brands that take care of their company but what’s sus is how cotti posted the announcement of this collab at 10:05. you would think dove would be the one to do that since xz is their endorser. or they could use 10, 10:10 or 10:30 posting time which are equally usual time slots for brand announcements. but no. it feels intentional on their side to use that association. of course it led to some drama but we still made some lemonade out of it by going through some old endorsement CPN examples that was funnily enough, dug out by solo fans who are clowns themselves.
• some are clowning (slightly) over WYB’s alleged kadian a day after the cotti drama when he FW the post for olympics because it read a (14:38) lifetime zhanbo. but you all know how picky i am with kadians. the vcr was shared 14:30 so i guess he only had a narrow window to share, not sure if intentional or not. for me, personally, not everything is kadian. considering the topic too, this is a national/international event. i don’t think it should be used for cpn. i’d like to think WYB is more professional than we are. but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️
Tumblr media
• this bts video from war of faith! it shows wyb being active — moving around and doing some exercises. reminds us so much of how xz was like during SBMS bts that was released. they are so similar!
• GG’s weibo post the night before WoF premiere
• adding this to the list of brands they both use for their wardrobe: NANS. as usual disclaimer, these are clothes used in brand shoots and may have been chosen by hired stylist of the brand or their own. who knows. i just like archiving stuff like this, especially for lesser known brands that seem to only be worn by them. some examples below:
Tumblr media
lesser known because XZ/WYB are so popular so you would expect them to wear name brands. if not, a company that the general public likes. on weibo, the brand only has 132k followers which is pretty low and they don’t repost photos of celebrities who used their clothes— nothing about WYB or XZ or anyone else.
• 3/21, premiere date of WoF, WYB shares a new trailer for the drama. The weibo account of WoF posted @ 9:58 and WYB on 10:06. So the CPN is, did he miss? was this supposed to be 10:05? considering what XZ did the day before with his post. Personally, i’m relieved that he didn’t do it 10:05 to prevent drama with his so/os because this time is crucial. we can’t afford these sensitive ass fans turning away from him and not supporting his work. he is too smart for that, he knows all too well how these things go.
I like this interpretation from cpfs that he didn’t miss, it’s yibo, if he wants to do it 10:05 he will. but he has limits right now, those who know (us cpfs) will get the meaning and understand him. and we do. we always do 💛
•xz molsion live show clues: lego/puzzles, camping and chasing dramas
• xiao zhan calling wyb lai lai ( fake rumor )
• 3/25 XZS post where the 380 yuan fan makes an appearance and the 8th picture significance
• 3/26 fake rumor 🗣️🗣️🗣️
wls wants xls to call him “gege”, xls didn’t, so wls tickled him, xls had no choice so he called wls “gege” softly, after he said it he blushed so hard, and wls didn’t allow us to look 👀.fake rumor don’t believe it
• 3/27 IQIYI livestream/ watch-a-long event with WYB and him smiling when the host said side by side in the snowy mountain part one . part two 💛💛💛
• 3/28 we got to see a VCR of ZZ and his style looks similar to Bobo’s
• new lounge wear brand cp! bananain x miiow 😍😍
Tumblr media
• a cute coincidence that in episode 21 of WoF it is revealed that in his hometown, Wei Ruolai has a nickname: “gou gu zai” = Definition: Jiangxi dialect. Refers to a child who has just entered his youth. Young people, they are not deeply involved in the world, but they are full of energy. like a puppy, lively and noisy.
it is exactly like gouzaizai but that one is from Chongqing. i know this is a script and fiction, but the director himself said that when WYB went in as Ruolai, he was inspired by WYB’s personality irl. It also means we were all right, looking at Lai Lai as a puppy during the show.
it’s just so nice to know that GG already found out what WYB’s personality was like early on. that he is a puppy — and feeds more truth to the cpn that GG was the one who gave the 🦴 necklace. a bone for a puppy.
• XZ’s xinxiangyin live “clue” on what activities they do spending time outdoors
-END.
P.S: and that’s the 1st quarter of the year done! just like that! actually, a lot of things happened in the fandom and i’m happy that both the boys continue to be active and we always have content. i also wanna take this time to thank everyone who supports both of them + cpfs who interact with me & my posts i appreciate you! <3 i hope the community here continues to grow and we all have this safe space to be cpfs 🤍🤍🤍

The Matchbox Trick
When I watched through season 2 for the first time, I made notes as I went along, because I'd seen that Neil wanted this to be a mystery story, and he'd wanted the episodes to be released weekly to encourage discussion and theorising. Most of my notes were jumbled and half-formed thoughts that I scribbled down before eagerly hitting 'next episode', so there's very little considered writing in there. But one of my theories I was certain on from the beginning was that of the matchbox trick.
This is a long post, so the explanation is below the cut:
The Trick
For those that don't know, the matchbox trick is a very simple example of sleight of hand magic. You have an empty matchbox, the magician puts something into it (say, a coin), says the magic words, and the thing vanishes from the box! Then they say the magic words again, and it reappears! Magic.
If you don't know how it's done: very simply, the inner box of the matchbox is divided in half, and when saying the magic words, the sleight of hand is to spin the box round, so that the other half is shown instead, whether that's empty (it disappeared!) or full (it reappeared!).
The Hints
I first thought that this season might be a matchbox trick when Gabriel's matchbox first appeared on screen - after all, it's clearly important, there's a mystery to be solved, Muriel seems shocked by it, and we know Aziraphale's a magician. I thought it'd be a trick that plays out on screen, and he'd be the one to figure it out.
I was even more convinced of it when Michael examined the box for the first time. Because she doesn't just open it at one end to see if it's empty - she opens it at both, one after the other. And yet she doesn't take the whole inner box out (that would reveal the divider and give the trick away). So I was certain this was Neil/Douglas/the team giving us a clear but subtle set-up that there would be a matchbox trick this season.
Then there are other references/hints dotted throughout the season, too:
In episode 3, the Resurrectionist pub sign has two sides to it - Aziraphale only notices one on the way in, but we're shown both, and then he notices the other one on the way out. We're being shown how the trick is done, even if the characters in the show don't understand it yet.
In episode 4, Aziraphale performs another, slightly different sleight of hand magic trick by replacing the photograph in the envelope with a pamphlet instead. This is a slightly weaker link to the specific trick of the matchbox, and arguably the gun trick has just as much sleight of hand (mouth?) in it, but since it's close-up magic I thought it was relevant, like Neil saying to us: 'close-up sleight of hand tricks are important here'.
And of course, empty matchbox, empty cardboard box, empty archangel mind. There seemed to be a thread between the three, so I thought the 'important thing to prevent something terrible happening' would be in the cardboard box, and Gabriel's memories would still be in his head, you just needed to metaphorically turn him around to get them to reappear.
So I spent most of the season convinced that Gabriel's 'empty' cardboard box with a 'this way up' sign on it held an extra-dimensional space that could only be accessed by opening it upside down (the arrows pointing downwards, the direction he'd metaphorically gone from Heaven).
And I was... half right. You did in fact need to flip the box over to figure out the trick. But you didn't need to open it, the answer was just scrawled on the bottom. Huh. Okay, fair enough. Close enough.
The Theory
I was willing to accept that half-right was close enough on the cardboard box front. Maybe the attention to the matchbox was just telling us to flip it over, not open it upside down. Maybe Michael opening both sides of the matchbox didn't really mean what I thought it meant at all, it was just a coincidence or a red herring or the only thing important about it was its existence, not it being opened. Maybe the way the show highlighted the text on the matchbox was meant to hint that you should look for writing on the cardboard box, and that was all.
Then I read this meta by @ariaste. Now, I'm not sure I fully believe in it (I've been burned before by complex fan theories), but it's certainly thorough and convincing. And if it is correct... then maybe the matchbox trick was intended to be there, as yet another setup with no payoff. Maybe it's another clue that things aren't all what they seem.
Maybe the whole of Season 2 is a vanishing act - on Gabriel, on memory, on Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship - and the answer, all that's been lost, will be returned to us in Season 3. When the quote on the matchbox will make sense, when all of the dropped threads and setups-with-no-payoffs will be cascaded into action, when the box will be opened rather than only flipped over without anything being revealed.
Maybe this is nonsense rambling. Maybe I'm seeing details that aren't there. But either way, I trust Neil. Season 3 will be worth it, I believe that much. Everything will be okay in the end.

"Albie" (main story 11-21)
At the end of Episode 11 (Part 1), we find out that "Albie" is simply a name that Vyn made up on the spot when Rosa asked. He may have been inspired by his own birth name, Vilhelm Richard Albert de Haspran.
In Chinese, Vyn choose the name "阿明". "阿" is a prefix used to form nicknames, "明" can be a name but also means "bright, clear". In Vyn's Romantic Rail Getaway card "Food for Thought", he tells us the meaning of his name:
Tumblr media
You can see the character 明 appear in the word 明亮 ("bright"), although 明 is such a common character that I wouldn't say that this Chinese text alone is enough is sufficient evidence to show the connection between the two names. It's the way that the "Albie" and "阿明" happen to coincide in the name "Albert", which made me take note of Vyn's "careless" choice in name.
If the Chinese name was intended to subtly reference "Albert", I can certainly imagine imagine this as one way to preserve that reference through translation, even if it becomes more obvious. We do have an example of the translation preserving plot-relevant wordplay in a name: Lowe Leare ("Lowly"), originally 萧仁 ("小人", both pronounced "xiao ren" but with different tones). However, there's also an incident of a plot-relevant name being missed through translation, though it was in an event (not the main story) that probably foreshadowed a distant plot point and had infamously bad translation issues.
Anyway, it remains possible that "Albie" is a coincidence. However, after Vyn and Rosa wrap up their conversation about Albie's name, the narration makes a comment on the importance of that moment:
It isn't until the whole case is settled that you are surprised to realize something... You had briefly touched on the key to cracking the case at this very moment.
...which at least gives me enough confidence to not feel silly writing up a whole post about it. We've only seen part of this case, and there's a lot of mystery still surrounding Vyn's behavior so I don't have any definitive hypotheses on why Vyn might have chosen his own name for Albie. Is there something that made Vyn seen himself in Albie? Did the delinquent's attitude remind Vyn of the cruel, stratified world that he was born in? Is he reminded of how people who have imperfections will be tossed aside and abandoned? I guess we'll see when part 2 of this episode is released.

Ok, now that the first pjo season is finally over (😭) I want to share my pitch for the future adaptations from the Riordanverse, because since daydreaming is for free I will now pretend I work with Rick and Disney and tell you what I'd do if I were their Kevin Feige.
First of all, do we all agree that if Heroes of Olympus really gets adapted it should be a separate show, and not PJO 6th season, right?? I hope so because they're completely different stories. So, if we will already get 2 connected shows, why can't we get more?
And maybe it's because I'm a big marvel fan but I really believe in the power of crossovers. There's something magical about seeing characters originally from two different worlds/stories interacting with each other, and I'm not only referring to the MCU. I mean, remember the episode where Hannah Montana and the Wizards of Waverly Place all went aboard on Zack and Cody's cruise ship?? Or when all the Disney Princesses appeared together on Ralph Breaks the Internet???
So imagine having 2 original spin-offs released in the years between each season from PJO. That way we would get the chance to meet not only Camp Jupiter but also some of the characters who are originally from there before HOO.
My idea of a title for the first show is "The Children of Rome", and the story would be set right after the events from Sea of Monsters/PJO Season 2, where we would follow Reyna as one of the main characters and all the journey she went through after her encounter with Percy and Annabeth on Circe's Island.
From being kidnapped by pirates to being trained by the wolf Lupa (which I think it would be really nice to actually see, since we only got a brief explanation of how it works in the books) until she finally arrives at Camp Jupiter and is first welcomed by Jason. Here I think there's even a great opportunity for a parallel between him and Thalia, since season 2 will have ended with Thalia resurrection and her iconic line (that could be adapted so to fit her last name) "I am Thalia Grace daughter of Zeus", so Jason's first introduction could be with him saying "I am Jason Grace son of Jupiter" (I already have chills only from imagining the scenes).
This could be a 3 or 4 seasons show, where we would see Reyna and Jason ascending to Praetor and their battle with the titan Krios, and in the last season (after PJO’s last season) we would see Nico's, Hazel's and Frank's arrival, wrapping the series with Jason disappearing.
Now for my second spin-off idea, it would be set after Titan's Curse/Season 3 and we would follow The Hunters of Artemis, which is already a great title by itself, and I would be satisfied with only one season but I would definitely not mind if we got more!
It would be a simpler show, with basically badass (ace) girls adventures, to see what they've been up to during the events of book/season 4, while we also get to know more of Thalia, her past trauma and how she misses her brother since she doesn't know he's alive. The Demigod Files story, The Sword of Hades, where Percy, Nico and Thalia go to the underworld and meet Bob could even happen in this show through her pov, that way we would understand better why she got so shaken with their encounter with the goddess of ghosts and regrets.
All of that would be a nice contrast with Jason's journey, since he was too young when he got to the Camp and doesn't remember much from his past with the exception that he was abandoned, so he doesn't even imagine that there's someone who cares and misses him. All of this would culminate in HOO first season when they finally get reunited.
No, it’s not a coincidence that I’m focusing a lot on Jason, but ironically the reason for that is not because he’s my favorite character, actually between the seven demigods from the prophecy he’s one of my least favorite, and I hardly ever find people in the fandom who has him as their favorite, which I think is pretty sad (specially now that I finally finished reading The Trials of Apollo, because I honestly I want to scream everytime I think about how much he is underrated and poorly explored as a character).
What I believe to be the reason for all of this is that, even though they’re nothing alike, Jason is often compared to Percy due to both being the son of one of the most powerful gods in Olympus and pretty much the leaders of their respective Camps. But that’s still not a fair comparison, because it’s like “who do you prefer, the boy we’ve known for 5 books already in which we got to first know this amazing world through his eyes, thoughts and feelings… or this dude we just met and that people say to be as good as him?”
Not only that, but between all the new characters we get to know in HOO (if I remember correctly) Jason is the one with less flashbacks scenes, and I get that this happened because he lost his memory, but this makes that most of the information we have about Jason's past is told to us, and not showed.
So, deep down, we know why Jason's personality is so different from Percy's. We know he'd struggled since he was a little kid due to the pressure of being raised to be a leader in such a cold and harsh environment. We know that even though he was immensely admired in Camp Jupiter he was still deeply lonely and insecure, mainly because of the lack of a parental figure to give him unconditional love making him believe that he only had value if he was of use.
We know he is incredibly powerful and led the Camp through tones of victories. But we haven't seen any of this half as much as we've seen him getting hit on the head, so in the end that's how he's most remembered: a nice and serious guy that got hit a lot on the head.
A spin of series would give the fans a chance of really seeing all that and understanding Jason (and other characters like Reyna and Thalia) better. And, again, it might be simply because I'm a huge MCU fan, but I truly believe that if we got to meet the roman characters and camp before HOO the feeling of seeing those worlds collapsing together and interacting would be so powerful!!
In the books what happen is that we see characters that we don't know yet (therefore don't like yet) arriving at a place and meeting characters that we already love, and then in the second book is the opposite, we see a character that we already love arriving at a place and meeting characters that we don't know yet (again, therefore don't like yet). But if we got to meet everyone separately all we would feel right away is excitement!
I’m not in any way trying to demerit the books!! It’s just that now with the series we have the chance of doing something new, of really adapting this story to a new media format in the best way possible! And, since the spin-offs would be original stories, the writers and Rick not only would have the opportunity to create more freely but also to surprise the fans who had read the books already.
I’ve been sitting on this Idea since the Disney+ show was announced and I know the odds of it happening are pretty low, but I decided to share this idea with othe people who also loves these books so we can freak out together.

Need to know your thoughts on Cynthia putting on that jacket when they get home from the dance. Cause I have a couple theories which both might be false.
1. The jacket is their father’s jacket and Cynthia needed some type of love so put the jacket on for comfort.
2. The jacket could be what Cynthia wanted to wear to the dance…
Would love to know your thoughts on this scene.
Hooo boy I am so glad someone asked me specifically about this, because I am actually very qualified to talk about it!!!
If you don't know me; Hi, I'm Levi, I am a theatre student, I'm currently working toward a degree in costume design and technology, and I have Big Opinions on clothing. Before I actually start talking about said opinions, let me first give a quick rundown on Costumes 101. Disclaimer: my education has been largely in the realm of stage production, but in Costume Land there is a very large overlap between stage and screen, with the main differences being on the technical side, which I will get more into later. That said, given the genre and tone of this show, my stage knowledge will apply.
And a word of warning: this anon has released a beast and this is going to be a long post, therefore I am putting my analysis under the cut. Also, apologies to those I tag, just want to make sure images and gifs get their proper credit.
Now, first and foremost, the purpose of costume on both screen and stage is to give insight into each character and passively tell a story. Therefore, nothing is coincidence and everything is intentional. Color, silhouette, piece, and style are all meticulously selected to bring a character to life and tell the audience who they are.
Example: In the live yesterday, Tricia Fukuhara mentioned requesting a beret she saw in the costume shop for Nancy, and while they did end up putting Nancy in several hats, she was told berets specifically were reserved for another character, Lydia. We do actually see another thespian with a beret, Alice (who IMDb tells me is played by Emilee Nimetz), which has... interesting implications, but that's for another post.
So let's see what we're working with here.

The first thing I notice is fairly obvious: this coat doesn't fit. That shoulder seam should be sitting right on the ball of their shoulder (think top of the shoulder cap); it's nearly halfway down their upper arm. Think it looks long here? Even when they're standing, it hits about mid-thigh. Not to mention that the sleeves themselves are baggy and way too long. They are swimming in this coat.
What does this mean? This coat isn't Cynthia's.
One could argue that it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility that Cynthia would own an ill-fitting coat; given the time period, I imagine it would be hard for a girl to find men's clothing in her size. Except, for the most part, Cynthia's masc clothing does fit.

Cynthia clearly has no problem finding men's clothing that fits. That said, there are technical reasons behind why a garment must fit beyond story-telling. Namely: actors' safety.
Out of any single one of Cynthia's looks, I would argue that this monstrosity:
Tumblr media
would be the most likely candidate for ill-fitting garment, character-wise. Everything we know about Cynthia suggests that they aren't the type of person to buy a dress they will likely only wear once (i.e., they are poor: single-parent home, always hungry, excitement over free food (Buddy's campaign candy), and it appears that they live in an apartment).
All this to say, it would make sense for this dress in particular to not fit, and yet, it does. Why? There's a dance scene. While the hand jive itself is not a particularly intensive dance move, Ari is standing on tables, climbing on cars, jumping, crouching, all manner of things that would be dangerous to do in a garment that was too big.
(Side note: I've seen quite a few people suggest that this is an old dress or possibly a hand-me-down from somewhere, or if anything, purchased second-hand. I have reason to believe it's not, but again, that's another post).
Of course, Ari, and by extension, Cynthia, isn't doing anything in the Coat Scene (tm) that would endanger them by wearing something too big. Even still, given their previous wardrobe, it's out of place. And like I said before, nothing is coincidence and everything is intentional. And why is it significant that the coat is too big? Because nothing else that Cynthia wears is.
Now, all this was a very long-winded way to say that this is Papa Zdunowski's coat. It's clearly not Cynthia's, and their dad is the only other person they live with. So yes, dearest Anon, your theory is most definitely correct.
Cynthia had just had probably one of the worst nights in their young life. Their friend group has fallen apart, they've messed up big time with their oldest friend, Richie has been arrested, and they're being forced to confront that they are queer. They come home to an empty house, either literally (dad's still at the shop and mom hasn't been there in a long time) or figuratively (dad's asleep, and mom hasn't been there in a long time). Either way, it's not like they can really talk to anyone about what's been going on with them. But they desperately need comfort. So what do they do?
They wear their father's coat like a hug and get drunk on the couch.
Thank you and good night.
(if anyone wants to hear the costume tangents I forced myself to avoid or just wants to hear more costume rants, feel free to hit up my ask box or dms. I chose this career for a reason and if you give me permission, I Will Not Shut Up.)

THE DESIGNS ARE JUSTIFIED IF YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THE SERIES WORKS (REVERSED MIRCULOUS special)
Tumblr media
As you know, the Miraculous special, the adventures of shadybug and clawnoir, will be released shortly, and I am obliged to comment on a controversy that has arisen with Adrien, as you know, my first post is trying to explain how the show works and what It is what people do not understand and why it is so criticized, well here I come again to explain a little about the controversy of the special and why Thomas' decision seems appropriate to me.
The controversy: about 2 or 3 days ago, the official designs of Adrien and Marinette as well as their alteregos came to light, the response from the fandom with Marinette/Shadybug was quite good, but Adrien/clawnoir, no, he Clawnoir's design seems to have been passable FOR some, but it was with Adrien's design that everything got messed up, and it received a lot of negative criticism, for example not being attractive, not pretty, etc. Defense of the show Thomas spoke out on Twitter and said: "It is not important that it is pretty, but that it serves to tell the story", which made the fandom criticize even more the attitude of Thomas and those who designed said designs. like "how little creativity and imagination"....
Tumblr media
Well, once I know this, I'm going to try to explain why Adrien looks like this, Adrien looks like this, because that's what the puzzle requires and for you to be able to form it, a certain aesthetic is necessary, otherwise, nothing would fit....it's not necessary. of imagination or creativity, it is not laziness, nor a little love for the series. On the contrary, they are demonstrating the great work behind it by trying to make everything fit (it is not easy, this is like setting up a comecocos) come on, the appearance is The right one.
Tumblr media
Through certain characters we can see what their future will be like or more or less where they will go, in this case through Jagged Stone we can see a little where Adrien will go in attitude, what do we know about Jagged? Well, to begin with, he's a crazy rocker, but the most important fact is that he and Anarka were together and then they divorced, basically because Jagged chose his music before his family and that's why he abandoned Luka and Juleka, so he's someone. quite irresponsible and childish as well as someone very spontaneous, extravagant and charismatic...all this is what Adrien/Chatnoir is and is becoming...so knowing this they present us with the design of the reverse where the good is bad, it looks like half punk and rocker with an aesthetic very similar to jagged, but also with the same makeup, oh well, what a coincidence, what does this say? He is giving us the clue and confirming that this is the way Adrien takes, yes, our Adrien is going to shoot, it doesn't mean that he will look like this in the future, but he doesn't give a small clue that he is going to be selfish, very childish and irresponsible and will think of himself above others (we can already see this a little in chatnoir).
Is it horrible? I'm not going to lie, yes it is horrible, but that won't matter, it serves to give the clue and continue putting together the puzzle and continue making theories, THAT'S WHAT MATTERS, THIS IS THE REST OF THE SERIES, and of course Thomas He has been very clear about that in his tweet, he is already telling you, he is telling you how the series works, if you are going to watch Miraculous expecting the other thing, then this may not be your series, because this is how it works otherwise, nothing fits then that's when there REALLY WILL BE SCRIPT HOLES.
Conclusion, Adrien/Clawnoir's design is correct and everything fits perfectly.
Later, I will write a post talking about the topic "design recycling" and why this really happens, since it is a similar case.

Tiger & Bunny Week 2024 (NC 1982): Short Story
This has got to be one of the silliest things I've ever written, but ngl, had a blast doing it. Short story about the Karuizawa Cabbage Theory. Geography is woefully in accurate since Sternbild is supposed to be a version of New York City, and well Karuizawa is a resort town in Nagano, Japan. Still the fans think he drifted on the river all the way to Karuizawa, so it stays.
Author: Lalunameli
Title: Yuri on Cabbages
Rating: PG (language)
Characters: Yuri Petrov (ooc, amnesia), and Kotetsu T. Kaburagi
A/N: Unbetaed, barely proofread, will fix mistakes as I come across them.
Yuri Petrov...
Kotetsu sat at his desk staring at the screen looking at a blurry photo submitted to him from his client, of a man with similar hair (though unkempt) selling cabbages. The former Hero Supervisor had been missing for almost a year ...which coincided with the permanent loss of his powers and the last time he and Barnaby had seen Lunatic. While it was hard to make out Lunatic's face in the glare, that same untamed curly hair resembled that of the cabbage seller's, who had not bothered to tie it back. A sharp contrast from the Director, who was so meticulous about keeping a neat and tidy appearance.
Kotetsu's current line of work as a Private Investigator for Anything Goes Investigations opened him up to contact from people from various walks of life, which is how found himself taking on the case of the missing Director. He had been approached by a woman by the name of Elena, who had said she was previously in employment as his mother's caregiver, until her untimely death. Apparently her employer had gone missing while she was recuperating in the hospital for injuries sustained during a robbery attempt in which Yuri's mother Origa, had been fatally wounded. Elena had survived; however, upon her release from the hospital, she learned that Yuri Petrov had been missing since the attacks on city by Gregory Sunshine and the controlled NEXTs. Fearing the worst, she sought out the services of Kotetsu to launch a search for the missing Judge.
This was how Kotetsu found himself in a small resort town called Karuizawa (of all places!) interviewing a strange cabbage seller, who looked unmistakably like his former boss, yet whose mannerisms were anything but.
"I honestly don't remember much prior to ending up here" said the Cabbage Seller amicably smiling at Kotetsu.
Smiling, thought Kotetsu Is he actually smiling at me? And what's with the casual speech?
The Director always spoke so formally around them and was known to be stoic. The Cabbage Seller on the other hand was all smiles, with a carefree demeanor.
"What do you mean you don't remember?" asked Kotetsu bluntly
The Cabbage seller tucked an unruly lock of hair behind his ear.
"Well the people here say I was found drifting in a nearby river badly hurt. They didn't think I'd actually make it! But I guess they brought me to a hospital or something... I'm not really clear on any of it. To be honest I don't really remember a lot of things, so they kinda look out for me." He smiled sheepishly at Kotetsu
"Yikes, sounds like you had a rough time" he responded still weirded out by Cabbage Yuri's mannerisms. "So are you tellin' me you don't remember who you are at all?"
"Not at all!" replied Cabbage Yuri enthusiastically "They've taken to calling me 'Kawabe' (A/N: riverside/riverbank) around here because of where they found me. Suppose it could be worse and they could have called me Cabbage Guy or something..."
He paused for a moment and furtively looked around. Seeing no one was around he looked at Kotetsu conspiratorially.
"Hey Mister, you wanna see something cool? But you can't tell anyone. Promise?"
Kotetsu had a sinking feeling of what this "something cool" was.
Shit-shit-shit... he thought to himself.
"Sure, go for it..." he hoped his nervousness wasn't showing.
"Look what I can do!!"
The tell tale signs of blue light from NEXT power activation appeared, as a bright blue flame errupted from Cabbage Yuri errr Kawabe's hand.
"I dunno if this was because of my accident but it sure looks cool!"
I KNEW IT. Thought Kotetsu. I knew this asshole was Lunatic! And now he doesn't even remember...
"Ummm hey, isn't that kinda dangerous? Shouldn't you be careful where you're waving those things around?"
Cabbage Yuri Kawabe's eyes widened as he quickly extinguished the flame.
"Oops, you're right! My bad!"
'Oops' and 'My Bad'??? Where the hell did he learn to speak like that!! I gotta try to deal with this before it becomes a problem.
"Listen I'm gonna level with you. I'm here because I run a Private Investigations office and..."
"...And you're on a case?!??" asked Cabbage Yuri excitedly
"Yeah something like that. Anyway while I'm here I kinda need someone who knows the area. Whaddya say, you interested?"
"Am I ever!!! That sounds like fun!"
Fun! thought Kotetsu exasperatedly, Why do I feel I'm going to regret this...
The two men shook hands as Kotetsu tried to figure out what the hell he was going to do next to keep up this sham and why the hell this was his best idea to keep Lunatic close.
ETA: Look at this lovely artwork from @lidoxia (aka @kalineas ) of Cabbage Yuri! I'm so honoured and happy to see him genuinely smiling!!

Unlikely I'll continue this. I am long retired from fanfic writing, but thought it might be fun to dust off the cobwebs and write something silly.

[an analysis of vyn richter's character]
// cn server spoilers, tw: discussions of su*cide, self destructive tendencies, su*cidal thoughts and ideation I've noticed something that has consistently been implicated in a lot of Vyn's card stories that I haven't seen too much discussion around. Particularly pertaining to Vyn Richter's mental health.
As a psychiatrist, a lot of Vyn's appearances will involve some discussions of psychology and the mental health of other characters. But of course, doctors are not immune from mental illness themselves, and there also happens to be several references to Vyn's own concerning mental state.
One of the first introductions we receive of Dr. Richter from his character story mentions that, in spite of being someone "who always observed the volatile human emotions from the outside, Vyn never expected himself to become one with the same emotions." Which immediately leaves us with the implication that Vyn is someone who experiences "volatile human emotions".
This was one of the very first descriptions I had read in regards to Vyn, and for the longest time, I was left perplexed as to what kind of volatile emotions Vyn was supposedly experiencing. I figured perhaps it was nothing noteworthy initially, but on the contrary, they were in fact rather vague with their implications in a way that could be quickly missed.
Vyn has the tendency to speak in metaphors and riddles, which can make it a little confusing when it comes to understanding what he's trying to say. But not only does the way Vyn speaks tend to be metaphorical, but the writing itself can include metaphorical scenarios that actually pose as a direct reflection of Vyn.
An instance of this was in Vyn Richter's first sweet chapter SSR, "Hungering Desire". Towards the end of the card story, there is a kitten (who suspiciously matches Vyn's traits, with white fur and golden eyes) that Rosa comes back to the lake to check up on. The kitten is sick, and weakly resting by a rock. Rosa says something along the lines of "I heard animals will choose to hide themselves when their life is coming to an end, and welcome death on their own..." and she then quickly bundles the kitten that seems to have given up with her coat.
Vyn refutes this by saying that the cat stayed in the area in an attempt to survive, to which Rosa thinks "Then have you also made a lot of similar attempts in the past too...?" and imagines a young Vyn in Svart. Instead of questioning Vyn, Rosa rephrases her question to ask if the kitten knows the spot it chose to hide in wasn't the best for it. Vyn then says the kitten had no better choice, but it thankfully met Rosa in the end to avoid its cruel fate.
It becomes quite clear that this kitten is supposed to represent Vyn. A kitten who fought for survival and had no choice but to sit alone until it succumbed to death, up until Rosa comes in and saves the kitten.
This card story was also paired with the release of Vyn's first sweet chapter, which simultaneously makes another similar implication. Vyn has to treat a patient who nearly jumped from a building to commit suicide, but she does not comply with Vyn. Towards the end of the sweet chapter, the woman reveals to Rosa that her reluctance to work with Vyn had nothing to do with him personally, but because when speaking with him, she felt that Vyn spoke to her like he related too much to her own circumstances. Hearing this made Rosa panic, and hurriedly run to be by Vyn's side.
It can't be by any coincidence that these two instances were released at the same time, and they raise a red flag with the state of Vyn's mental health. Both stories implicate that Vyn himself has dealt with suicidal thoughts to some degree, and judging by Rosa's reactions, she seems to have come to that conclusion as well.
There's also a lot of other behaviors that Vyn has the tendency to exhibit in stories that key in he's not entirely mentally well.
Vyn is also rather self-destructive and anxious; he frequently fidgets, his palms get cold and clammy, and there have been a number of instances where Vyn's breathing was described as being uneven and erratic when he panics. He also doesn't seem to care whenever he's injured, refusing medical attention and accepting injuries without flinching or complaining. Not only that, but he has also intentionally harmed himself in game.
There were at least three occurrences I can think of where Vyn hurt himself knowingly out of guilt or in order to seek comfort and validation:
One of the more well-known instances was when Vyn pepper sprayed himself in the eyes because he was ashamed of his own actions towards Rosa, intentionally punishing himself.
In "Hungering Desire", Vyn had also expressed that he wished to get sick to experience being taken care of. As sweet as the sentiment was to desire Rosa's care, it really can't be said it was all that healthy of him to desire sickness for the sake of seeking comfort, especially when coupled with the implications of the kitten later on in the card story.
In Main Story Ch. 11 Part 2, Vyn exhibits self-destructive behavior yet again to a much more dangerous degree, going so far as to drinking tea that he knew was poisoned (by someone else) with insecticide after being called out by Rosa, having to get his stomach pumped at the hospital.
And most recently in the CN Server, we actually have an explicit story of Vyn being suicidal in The Last Dragonbreath, this card even making parallels to another card in Tears of Themis's present timeline. He's afraid of losing control and believes he should die, ultimately making Rosa kill him. Vyn also rips out his own dragon scales without much of a reaction, similar to how he behaves canonically with his injuries.
The parallel card in question is actually his Top-Up SSR, "Aromatic Dream". This card was quite possibly one of the most explicit instances where Vyn's suicidal ideation and thoughts show through. He experiences insomnia for a couple of days after dealing with a case where a friend of his killed himself after feeling as though he was losing control of himself, even though he seemed alright and was in a happy relationship. Vyn mentions his fear of going "mad" during his relationship with Rosa, revealing that his insomnia arose because he was afraid of repeating the same fate as his friend whose circumstances felt similar to his own (i.e. killing himself too).
All of these scenarios in game are just the ones that I have seen thus far, and it's entirely possible that there are more stories or that I might have missed any hints in earlier cards. They don't appear in the most explicit fashion, which can make it difficult to catch with everything else that happens in Vyn's stories, but it happens far too often to merely be coincidental.
Though Vyn expresses that he's gotten better after studying psychology himself, with the abusive environment he grew up in and the way he behaves in the present, it's not difficult to imagine how his mental health must have been from his child to teen years.
Vyn is a self-destructive character that struggles with his own mental health. While he does self-evaluations to keep himself under control and most likely showed improvement through his relationship with Rosa, it certainly still peers through from time to time.

okay, tumblr did the annoying thing and recommended me a post bitching about moon knight (such is the way of the tumblr's recommendation system), but it specifically highlighted the recently released deleted scene ("don't go there"), so I wanna talk about that a little bit.
I've seen a lot of hand-wringing about the deleted scene, a lot of "that's really insensitive"s, and a lot of "I'm glad that they deleted it" sentiments. I've even seen people go as far to say it's "out of character" of Layla (my, people love using that excuse a lot when characters act fully dimensional and make mistakes), so I wanna put my few cents in.
I think what people are misunderstanding is that it's purposely insensitive - and that narratively, the scene does not condone anything that Layla says about the system.
Moon Knight as a show is a lot of things, but one of the most primary things it is about, is systematic ableism. The System faces ableism in practically every aspect of their lives: Steven is put down repeatedly at work for being a blatantly unmasked autistic man, he loses his job because of his disability (been there myself). People are afraid of him (the lady in the lift) because he acts a bit 'weird', people think he's a silly drunk, Harrow as a villain very deliberately weaponizes disability - do you think it's a coincidence that his method of appearing benign and harmless is by pretending to be physically disabled, when he then turns around and utilizes the Lunar System's disability to discredit them during the trial?
All of these things, in my opinion, results in the climax that we get in Asylum. There's been plenty of metas for why the scales balanced once Steven had been frozen, and handwringing, when it seems fairly obvious to me that the scales balanced because Marc and Steven aren't meant to exist in the system placed by the gods, who have repeatedly been shown to be ableist (yes, even Tawaret, adhd icon that she might be). They cannot exist in an ableist system (herksnorts), so they reject it and choose each other. That's the story they're telling.
So what does this mean for the deleted scene?
Well, when you look at the show as a whole and how it repeatedly states that ableism is wrong, then I think it makes it very clear that what Layla is saying in this scene is also wrong and incorrect. The fact that it makes people uncomfortable, especially singlets it seems, is quite deliberate and intentional - because in many ways, I think Layla serves as a touchstone for the portion of the audience that are neurotypical/allistic/singlets (although Layla isn't necessarily neurotypical considering her obvious trauma re: her father's death, and I like the idea that she and the system are aut4aut, but for the sake of this meta we're going to view her through the lens of an allistic/singlet), and I think what is getting to a lot of people is the implication that they could be so heartless and cruel to someone they care about and love, if they're different from them and experience life differently.
Because, speaking as someone who is autistic and is a system, and whose coping mechanisms or lackthereof have resulted in my partners going on at least more than one occasion, "your spector is showing", it is very amusing to see how many people think that they would be so good and understanding with the system, when often they can't afford that same courtesy to the ones in their actual lives. So when their touchstone -- the one that seems to grasp things very easily within the actual framework of the show and largely handles the situation delicately and gets a 2-in-1 husbands deal (not counting Jake for the moment since we don't know his feelings for Layla yet) -- is shown to be getting it wrong, saying these outright ableist and frankly cruel things that deeply hurt Marc as a result -- it shatters the illusion that they're not complicit in an ableist society, and the violence that the Lunar System consistently faces, that they don't have preconceived notions about what plurality is like, what it means, or that they need to challenge those beliefs and their understanding of what it's like to exist as a neurodivergent person in an ableist, sanist society.
This scene doesn't hold its punches, just like the rest of the series doesn't. It shows another, incredibly accurate moment of the ableism that systems deal with every day of their lives - and I think even if you're not plural, then the scene can still ring true for you if you're neurodivergent, having to sit and listen to even some of the people closest to you, spout deeply harmful rhetoric that they don't even know they should be challenging. And it's no coincidence that it takes place immediately after the trial, or that it deliberately has Layla using the same out of date terminology that Harrows uses to discredit them -- the point IS that it's insensitive, the point is that Harrow CAN successfully turn people against the system, because these ableist notions are SO deeply engrained into society, that even Layla, our other protagonist and hero and Marc's wife, can share those same beliefs at the start of the series.
Moon Knight is a story about systematic ableism. It's about how ableism gets weaponized against disabled people, and specifically systems, all the time. It features the accurate day to day ableism that we face, and it makes sure to include that even the most well-intentioned people, can still be complicit in it and need to challenge those beliefs (and if you think that Tawaret and Layla are the only ones, the show also gets into internalized ableism - look no further than Steven's reaction to finding out about Marc, or Marc's intial reaction to being in the Duat, or the way that Harrow SUCCESSFULLY utilizes the harmful stereotype of an "evil alter" to drive a wedge between Steven and Marc until the Duat, which the show very meticulously deconstructs across the first season (which is why I am not particularly concerned about Jake tbh, they've done it before and if they keep the same crew as the first season, I feel like they'll do it again).)
But ultimately, I think it was wise for them to delete it, because I think this kind of discourse is exactly why they chose to. Although narratively it is framed as wrong and it shows that Marc is deeply hurt by the invasive and insensitive questions Layla hurls his way, there is always going to be the majority of people who think the story is trying to condone that behavior when it's not.
Because of that, I do believe it was the responsible decision to remove the scene, but personally I'm choosing to keep it as part of my personal canon. Why? Because it flows well with the rest of the series, better bridges the gap between Layla's confusion in episode 2 to how she handles the plurality in the latter half of episode 3/4, and...honestly I love what it does for Layla? Because the contrast of her in this scene versus her interactions with Steven, especially about them being a system, in the very next episode is staggering, and I love the tremendous amount of growth that it shows her go on - which not many people are willing to undergo. It, frankly, makes me love Layla more.
Now, I know that not everyone's gonna agree with me and my analysis of the show or this scene as a whole, and I'm not trying to change everyone's minds, I just want to throw another perspective into the ring - I'm sure even other systems will disagree with me! That's how experiences work, Moon Knight works for me as it exists, but it probably doesn't for everyone else (it probably helps that it works for me so well because it's the thing that introduced me to the conecept of being plural, even if it isn't - sort of - what made me realize I am). And I'm not even saying I didn't flinch hard at Layla's questions - I did.
But that's the point.
It's like Marc said, "this is my reality", and this is the reality that plurals face every day, it's the reality that any disabled person faces. And I find a lot of comfort in that it pulls no punches.
Because it's my reality, too.

X2: A Movie Review
This has been a good year for everybody's favorite mutants so far.
So far, we are halfway through X-Men 97, a sensational return for the original X-Men cartoon, picking up where it left off and blowing away expectations. Meanwhile, we are still three months away from the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, which will feature the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and possibly other surprises from the X-Men films released back in the 2000s, among other Marvel films from then.
With the success of X-Men 97 and the upcoming release of Deadpool & Wolverine, it makes sense to look back and celebrate the X-Men films to come beforehand. At the time of this writing, I have rewatched the X-Men (2000) and X2 only. X-Men: The Last Stand has not been reviewed yet, and X-Men (2000) was good, but X2 is the topic of discussion here, as it's not only better than its predecessor but one of the great comic book films to grace screens.
The last time I watched either X-Men film may have been as a kid during the 2000s. The rewatch all these years later proved how stellar X2 was, buried under the wave of Marvel films to follow throughout the 00s, 10s, and today. If you don't know or have forgotten, X2 introduces its main antagonist, Stryker, played by the brilliant Brian Cox; a man who threatens the existence of mutants with the proposed mutant registration act. After launching a full-front assault on Professor Xavier's school and after Magneto breaks out of prison, the X-Men, Xavier, and Magneto must band together to face a common enemy that threatens their very existence.
From the opening scene of Nightcrawler fighting his way through the White House to make it to the president, the film establishes more clearly than its first one how it has the sauce. Nightcrawler poofing his way throughout the halls and dispatching the guards one by one with opera music in the background is one of the best openings to a CBM. Overall, the action scenes here are a vast improvement over the first one, whether it's the opening scene, the raid on Xavier's school, or Wolverine vs Lady Deathstrike. While the first film's fight scenes were decent, the choreography harbors more dynamic action that contributes to an overall more enjoyable time.
The character work here varies across characters and performances. Ian McKellen has one of the best performances once again. While his role as the antagonist in the previous film was great, his partnership with Xavier, Wolverine, and others forces a compelling dynamic. Magnus breaking out of prison using the iron in a guard's blood was badass. Then, to see him forced to work with his enemies provided entertainment beyond belief. From there, unfortunately, it's a bit of a mixed bag from the other actors and actresses and their characters.
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is iconic for good reason. He brought gravitas and an aura of savagery that was always entertaining to witness, whether here or in virtually any other film the character appeared in, especially in Logan. Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier is a tour de force in his own right as well, but it's the other members of the X-Men that bring apprehension. While I enjoy James Marsden as an actor, he brought nothing to the table as Cyclops, and reminded me why others for years have hated the Scott Summers character; Coinciding with his performance, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey isn't given many intriguing things to do. It's a bit infuriating when juxtaposed with the performances and stories told in X-Men 97. The X-Men and X2 spend too much time on a love triangle where only one-third of the people involved are engaging to watch on-screen. (Although if X-Men 97 focuses more on the love triangle after the time of this writing, this may age poorly, lmao.)
I liked Shawn Ashmore as Iceman and the scene of him coming out as a mutant to his parents. A decent allegory for a teen coming out as gay to their parents, and I think the scene, as well as Iceman/Bobby Drake in general, work well for the movie. Aaron Stanford's Pyro was also a fun slow-burn, watching him turn heel towards the end of the film. I'm really excited to see him return in Deadpool & Wolverine. Others like Rogue, Beast, Mystique, and Lady Deathstrike, to name a few, I would've liked to have more screen time to grasp these performances and their character moments better. Overall, X2 could've utilized some characters better, but some of the characters get so right and attributed to one of the quintessential 2000s CBM movies out there. There are a handful of iconic scenes to witness or reacquaint with in the first two acts. The third act may waver a little bit, but this is still a great film that warrants a rewatch to appreciate the X-Men further. 4/5.

So based on what I’ve been reading in the Fang mini series, it is possible that Bean and Bark might split up from Fang. Considering that it has been said that it takes place after Sonic the Fighters but prior to Sonic Superstars (where Bean and Bark do not appear). Though, I see it more as being temporary as opposed to being permanent. I do wonder that if there is a Plus expansion of Sonic Superstars, that there would be an extra mode where it takes place after the main campaign with it focusing on Fang reuniting with his gang. I have this little theory because Sonic mania and Sonic origins had their plus expansions adding new playable characters such as Mighty, Ray, and Amy. And the former’s encore mode taking place after the main story mode and by extension Sonic Forces. I also speculate that if this DLC were to happen it would be announced 8-10 months from Sonic superstars original release similar to what happened with Sonic mania plus and Sonic origins plus. I could be wrong though so I do not want to face inevitable disappointment if my theory is wrong. But overall I hope Bean and Bark do not split from Fang forever as although I do not mind if Fang is alone or if it is just Bean and Bark causing trouble with no sight of Fang in certain situations, I really like the trio’s chemistry together. I know some people are not a fan of the two being grouped with Fang saying that the latter is more of a lone wolf, as well as not liking the bird and bear being in more antagonistic roles due to it contradicting their original Japanese only bios from Sonic the Fighters and Fighters Megamix. And I respect their opinions. But I think that Fang’s gang are an entertaining trio and I do like how the comics made them more fleshed. Plus, they are not evil, they are just more in the grey alignment. Even with Fang, I don’t consider him to be on the side of bad since he is more in it for monetary gain.
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!!
You speak exactly as I think! This trio is iconic as the sonic heroes teams as well! (Especially since team hooligan was an original option for heroes if it wasn't for time) and I'm glad you enjoyed them too!
Also, what a coincidence you talked about theories as I have a few myself thanks to the release of the two miniseries issues I just wrote down! Shower thoughts be damned yall, so here it is

I literally went back to tails tube (which takes place in modern so it's WAYYY into the future) and the fang 101 video to get some evidence
And considering Clutch is the main antagonist of modern idw I wouldn't be surprise if this issue connects to him in a way!
But those are just my thoughts! ^^
(If ya wana see my evidence on the videos
Fang 101: timestamp 1:36
Tailstube #5: timestamp 3:18 )
Thanks for the ask! ^^

i’ve thought about whether i should bring up the topic again cause i’ve already mentioned it earlier this month when WoF trailer came out. at the time it seemed kinda insignificant and a reach but it is gaining some traction in the fandom again. as usual, if something is even close to being important, it will always show up and the meaning is gonna be clearer the days go by. as soon as WYB shared his character poster and that coin was so prominent, the cpn became more solid. during the trailer, we didn’t know just how significant it was to the point that it’s Wei Ruolai’s symbol. he is not only holding it, but tossing it kinda like how GG did in the vlog.
Tumblr media
yes, this is universally, how people do a coin toss so it’s not like some niche gesture that only the two of them will know. however the key here is how close it appears between them. the vlog is released 3/2 and then the new trailer for WoF 3/6. the first bts for yibo as lai lai was also of him studying the coin with his colleagues. i know it’s highly unlikely that the vlog’s whole concept was a way to tease us with WYB’s drama. let’s give credit to where it’s due, xz and his team have always been really creative with how they present their content. maybe at this point, xz was already kinda into this coin and the team thought about integrating it into his vlog’s theme and story. at the same time, this also made GG somewhat become a messenger that WoF is coming soon, we just didn’t pick up on it.
one other favorite speculation i love is how some are saying that this could be the same coin WYB’s Wei Ruolai is using. 🪙 that WYB took one from the set or got one of his own which is similar and gave it to XZ as a keepsake. and i absolutely love the thought of XZ taking it with him to a foreign country to remember him by. kinda like how in the lacoste show, WYB was wearing a lacoste necklace, but inside was the 🦴 because he had to have it on him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A coin is not as flashy compared to if GG suddenly shows up with a jewelry on him and use it consistently like WYB does. This kind of lowkey thing to remember someone by is so on brand for GG. I also remember GG sneakily mentioning WYB’s character in one of his weibo posts that was shared last year, 3/5! What a coincidence! Why GG thought of (allegedly) giving that clue may mean Wei Ruolai is a character of WYB he is fond of. 🤍 think about it, at the time the vlog was released, no one knew about this tidbit about WYB’s character. that in itself holds weight for this cpn.
Let’s see, maybe this coin will show up again in GG’s vlog or whatever — by that time, we will know that is has more significance than a random vlog prop.
P.S: If you haven’t already, don’t forget to reserve WoF over at IQIYI App. Let’s support WYB’s new drama!

Serendipity, pt.4: jikook
Where do I begin?
"I am you. You are me."
In my opinion, this song was not written with jikook in mind, but both Jimin and Jungkook made this song theirs and of course they would!
It fits their story perfectly.
youtube
The phrase "I am you, you are me" was coined by the artist Zico in his music video for the song of the same name. This was released in January 24, 2016.
In the song, the characters notice the similarities in the stuff they do and wear. In one particular scene, both characters have bandaids on their fingers.
Tumblr media
Jikook were both seen wearing matching bandaids in a fan meet in April 2016. When asked about it, Jimin mentioned Jk gave him and Jk wore one too. When Jk was asked about it, he said he wore it just because.
"I am you, you are me."
Serendipity was released on September 4, 2017 and Namjoon explained that the lyrics took a long time to write. Also, Zico's song was well received in Korea which makes me think that Namjoon and jikook both were inspired by this song...separately. Which is to be expected.
Tumblr media
In the music video, the date 2017.09.01 appears. While many might think this is due to Jk's birthday and therefore the song was a gift from Jimin to him, the date is when the video was approved and finalized (if I'm not mistaken). This is truly a coincidence.
The first mention of the famous Serendipity phrase was in the Run BTS episode 62, when both Jimin and Jungkook got the same score in the machine that measure the strengths of their fingers.
Jk mentions it must the destiny but Jimin, not a destiny believer, says, "I told you. I am you, you are me" which means that they had had a conversation about their similarities before.
In these past years, Jimin and Jungkoo quoted the song for the most random things.
Tumblr media
Both were feeling the hot temperatures of Malta?
"I am you, you are me."
Tumblr media
Jimin had to talk about Serendipity?
Tumblr media
Jikook came back from Tokyo? Jimin sang Serendipity while looking straight at Jk.
Tumblr media
Touching each other's fingertips became their thing as they serenaded each other "Neoneun na, Naneun neo."
Tumblr media
Jungkook was an avid fan of the song and was often seen seen watching Jimin rehearse the song for their tour.
Tumblr media
Jungkook, being the big supporter of the song, would also get triggered by little things and he would randomly burst into song.
Tumblr media
In 2020, Jk wrote his FESTA profile about Jimin and described Jimin as his “You are me, I am you."
Tumblr media
Not only has jikook made the song theirs, they literally accused the writer of the song of plagiarism when Namjoon used a phrase similar to
"I am you, you are me."
Tumblr media
They truly applied the song to their lives as little coincidences added up...just like in Zico's music video.
"I am you, you are me."
Tumblr media
Personally, I can't get behind the theory that Namjoon wrote this song for jikook because that would be very weird. Namjoon would have had to be ok with writing about jikook blooming...I mean..
Namjoon also had a very clear idea of what he wanted the song to convey and how he wanted it to sound. From the sounds of that, he wasn't taking recommendations from the members. Serendipity was Namjoon's statement.
Also, the BTS book revealed that Jimin found the penicillium line funny so it makes me think that Jimin wouldn't be laughing if Jk was indeed the penicillium the song was referring to.
The song is incredibly intimate and personal so attributing it to other people feels like an insult to Namjoon's artistry.
However, I do believe that jikook made the song theirs and took the lyrics to heart.
Being from Busan, debuting with BTS, being dancers and singers, having similar goals and work ethic, and the little coincidences that connect them do make it seem like the song was serendipity for them as well.
"I am you. You are me."

Ach, I must ask after liveblogging my Dungeon Meshi read at you what are yer thoughts on it? (also I don't know if its just me but I felt like there's some parallels with Dorohedoro in some ways)
It seems like a damned good story. The characters are interesting and engaging, the story itself has a solid and very focused plot, the worldbuilding is just directly on point. And that without touching on the character and creature designs, which are awesome. This is a story that knew what it was going for and even at it's most meandering points, which seem to have been hardly meandering at all, still made sure it prop up it's main focus on the characters, their development, their growing companionship, not just among the main characters but beyond, while maintaining the steady use of food and as metaphor for damn near everything good in life.
Which is where potential parallels to Dorohedoro come in. I mentioned in another post that food appears to be a mainstay of that series as well, though not nearly so forthrightly as in Dungeon Meshi. Food seems to represent power in that setting, those that strive for power have bottomless appetites or often go hungry, the most powerful are heavily associated with food either by their powers or their skillsets, and so on.
Dungeon Meshi seems like a... words... An equal opposite, of sorts? Food is power in Dorohedoro, but in Dungeon Meshi food is togetherness, food is caring, food is life. In Dorohedoro while the sharing of food is used to represent companionship, it's also a valuable tool- through offensive magics, through Turkey's clones- while in Dungeon Meshi food is by far more associated with care, both for others and yourself.
It's certainly not a coincidence that when Shuro abandons the team at the beginning, decides instead to call in his family's retainers with whom his bond seems to vary at first from nebulous to 'that girl is literally property', he also stops eating.
Food as life and the cycle of life and death are major themes of the manga, but food as companionship and trust and care are also a big deal.
And then you get the demon and it's ceaseless hunger, it's obsession, it's use of other people's obsessions and desires to drag them down onto it's dinnerplate. In Dorohedoro hunger seems to represent the yearning for power, especially by those that in one way or another lack it. In Dungeon Meshi I would say it looks like hunger may more be tied to social and emotional distance.
Farin always ate alone until there was Marcille.
Chilchuck works to stay underweight as well as maintain emotional distance from his team
Senshi is a hermit who hasn't built strong bonds since the loss of his family, and is the first of the team to have hungered for monster.
Laios has always craved the chance to eat monster and has spent his whole life as on outsider among a crowd.
The demon hungered eternally but never ate with anyone, even in the scenes we see it at a full table it's either not eating or being eaten.
And in a way all these characters' salvations seem to come in the form of eating. From Senshi getting the greatest weight of his life taken from his shoulders to Chilchuck reaching a point he can try to repair things with his family to the demon being released from it's entrapment in a cycle that's unnatural to it.
And hunger like that, unending, eternal, is unnatural. To be so alone is unnatural. To be so caught up in one thing- jealousy of your kin, safety from death, finding your chosen one- is not a natural, healthy state.
Then you get to the end, where Laios has been left with this hunger, and he breaks from the cycle of obsession and the divide in makes between us. Puts in the work to do so and allows this hunger and these urges to drive him closer to those around him. And in that he finds further companionship.
And I have no idea if that makes any sense. Um...
TL;DR: The line from Dungeon Meshi to Dorohedoro I- as someone who hasn't read either and has only seen liveblogs for both and the anime for one- think goes like this-
Dungeon Meshi = Life = Companionship = Food = Magic = Power = Dorohedoro
