follow up clowning related to gg’s weibo post from here. a reminder first that i don’t think everything has to mean something and most of the time what they post is just plain and simple. we are clowns, so we will speculate but that doesn’t mean we have to find some candy for every content they post before we can enjoy & appreciate it. for example, we also think that the reason GG is doing these solar terms right now, while he is filming LoZ is in the synopsis of the drama, his character is the son of the “director of the Imperial Observatory of the Great Yong Kingdom” , that’s the english translation. but the key here in the original text is this word: 钦天监 [qīn tiān jiàn].
what is it? thank you to good old baidu for always having the answer:
Qin Tianjian is the signature of an official whose function is to observe celestial phenomena, calculate solar terms, and formulate calendars.
calculating solar terms. so that could be the connection he is hinting at that is somehow significant to the character he is playing. makes sense right?
this is not me washing anyone’s candy. i’m only laying out alternative explanations cause that’s how i do things. lol. the addition i have seen going around is kadian related and i’m not a kadian girlie so i was blocking it out when i first saw it. 😅😅😅

the post he made is his 1085th on weibo. oh what a good number, like a mashup between their birthdays. and the kadian that was used 191919. which means still still still. or you can concentrate on the repeated use of the number 999 ( In Chinese, nine is pronounced jiu, which also means “long lasting.” As the highest single digit, it represents the maximum level of mortal happiness, longevity, and good luck. A perfect ten is reserved for the gods. Case in point: in respect to the Heavens, the Forbidden City in Beijing has 9999.5 rooms, just short of a flawless 10,000. )
who is saying still too? forever with who? wang yibo. based on my first post about it, his use of that word 谷雨 that also came up in LTS lyrics.
another coincidence is that in the song itself, the word comes up in the 0:19 mark. 👀
commemorating the anniversary of when he followed yibo on weibo, 4/20/2018 so he posted on the eve of that day. maybe he is celebrating something else that only the two of them know and it’s not necessarily something as mundane as following a person on weibo. who knows. however, it’s on the bxg calendar so we are marking that down as a possible reason. 📝
i love this explanation tho, that goes back to that actual day years ago and what happened. it was the 5th day of filming CQL and they did not have scenes together, so why did he pay attention and followed him? he was filming the scene in the burial mounds, WWX was drunk and reminiscing about when he first met LWJ. WWX misses LWJ cause he is not there. Was XZ also missing WYB that time? to the point that he went to his weibo account and followed him?
it’s not a secret that XZ prefers it when WYB is there, not only to act with, but just there for him. plus this level of attachment on the 5th day of filming is not surprising when it comes to them.
finally, the imagery of the rain when it comes to them is one that holds some meaning. much like how we fixate on the stars and moon. photos below to show some of those relations to the rain. ☔️

i am due for some cpn so let’s over analyze gg’s recent post like we always do. lol. i thought this was him updating his weibo dynamic header/cover but turns out it’s really a video. it’s pretty and v atmospheric. i swear, xz’s camera roll must be something to look at. so the focus of his post is the 6th solar term Guyu. not sure why he is suddenly so focused on these but we know one other person who is, to the point that he included it on his ximalaya show. in episode 52 (tomorrow is guyu day), wyb mentioned this:
Hello all ximalaya friends, I’m Wang YiBo, it’s time to air the 24 seasons of China. Once again, this is the last solar term in the spring. Guyu means rainwater that creates valleys and streams. in the meantime If the weather is still good, the peonies in Luoyang, my hometown, must have bloomed soon. You can go to Luoyang to see the flowers. You can get a ticket if have free time.
and was part of LTS lyrics, literally the first line: blown by the clear wind and waiting for the rain to sow the seeds. in this case the english translations mention it as rain but the original text uses 谷雨. yes he is not the songwriter but to think that he picked that song, with that lyric is telling. it may not be romantic per se, but that his drawn to it. to the rain and what it means.

once again thank you for this @yibocheeks 😌
anyway, i wanna focus on this part cause it went on hs saying that yibo was taking control of the livestream. don’t worry, it was implied in a good way, like a boss who is in charge.
The mentioned scene starts to play.
The MC asks Yibo a question about Wei Ruolai but Yibo points to the screen and says (with a gremlin smirk): Let's continue to watch this scene
Li Qin: The audience has already seen this.
Yibo: Oh I haven't seen it yet
Director Yao and Li Qin: Oh then watch!
the scene was actually one of the highlights and one that all viewers of this show is waiting to happen. the reveal that SJZ is a communist, and STN knowing it. to those who watched it, you know how good it is and that whole episode in itself was so anxiety inducing.
so yibo was actually trying to make people focus on the scene and appreciate it. even if the MC was asking him about his character, him, being his ever gracious self, decided to take away the attention from himself. that’s just the person that he is. everyone knows that people on the livestream wants more of him but he gave way for the audience to appreciate this scene by his co-stars more. ( at the time, the viewers already watched this scene, idk why youku decided to make them watch an old episode lol. )
and this is why i admire this guy. he is not afraid to acknowledge the people around him and give them the credit they deserve. he is aware that it’s not always about him, no matter how most of the time it seems like it is. for someone so young, you would think he will be a narcissist but he is not. i think it’s because he is sensitive too and a good boy. 🥹🥹🥹

Wang Yang (on when Shen Tunan realizes that Shen Jinzhen is the sniper who saved Wei Ruolai): [Tunan] is very conflicted, because on one hand, Wei Ruolai still lives, on the other hand, the person who saved him is Shen Jinzhen. So this was really difficult for him.
Director Yao: He was always guessing that maybe his sister was a communist, a part of him had already prepared for this, but he didn't want to face the reality.
They watch Ruolai, after he has escaped from Lin Qiaosong and is alone with Niu Chunmiao.
MC: At this time, director, do you think that Wei Ruolai is in a perplexed state of mind?
Director Yao: Yes, because right now he is at a dead end. He has already given up his previous set of beliefs, but he has not yet found a new set of beliefs. On Wei Ruolai's character development
Director Yao: I think [the way Wei Ruolai's character develops] is more of a realistic take. A person will not think, I want to join the communists and immediately convert to that side. It's not realistic. We want the audience to believe in this process. His change happens one step at a time. Even when he arrives in Soviet Jiangxi, he didn't immediately join the Red Army. He wanted to see a bit more. Then after another incident happens, in his heart he holds a lot of resentment and hatred, there were things that he felt were unresolved in Shanghai; he met a group of lousy people and this made him angry, but there was nowhere to direct this anger. Then when he went to Soviet Jiangxi, he found the same thing that happened, but that the Red Army really seemed to treat those who are poor well. He thought, this is what I want, what he couldn't get where his shifu was, so this excited him.
Director Yao says that the little motorcycle that Yibo rode was vintage, and that it broke after Yibo rode it once.
They talk about the scene where Shen Tunan slaps Shen Jinzhen
Director Yao: That day, Wang Yang's biggest dilemma was whether he should really slap her, while Li Qin was thinking about how she should respond to the slap. Wang Yang is quite softhearted. He had quite good control, he didn't actually hit her and his tears also came out. This is very difficult to control. That day Li Qin also said to him, "Ge, just go for it." But he never actually hit her. He's too softhearted. (jokingly) Once we got the scene I yelled cut right away. It was a difficult scene to film.
