I'm about to make it worse :') Now we both know trying to get a backstory reveal from Hawks is like trying to find a Pokemon with a 1% appearance rate and eventually you just want to give up trying. (I refuse, I WILL catch one eventually.) And SADLY that's still the case. Because while Dabi revealed the "yo hey, his dad was a serial killer, isn't that crazy, no wonder he's so used to violence!" He didn't say A PEEP of the HPSC part of it, aka nobody knows!! I'm hurt!! Freedom was a silent affair
i feel the same way! I want more hawks backstory (and more hawks content in general tbh) but he hasn’t appeared since chapter 345 :(
but also, it makes sense why dabi wouldn’t address the hpsc’s involvement in buying hawks as a kid and training him to be a child soldier. he’s trying to make hawks look bad, not garner public sympathy for him.
that being said, i kind of like the idea of hawks’ newfound freedom being a “silent affair”. it’s something that really only the both of them know about, which emphasizes that their characters have a much more complex connection than what you’d initially think based off of their limited interactions.

MHA FIC REC LIST
Because apparently this is a thing that people do; so, I’m going to list the best fics I’ve ever read as well as why, exactly, you should read them. It’s a very varied collection, but you’ll find a lot of dimension/time travel, as well as Todoroki-family centric fics here.
Dragonborne — Ojiro/Shinsou. Set in an AU where Ojiro’s quirk isn’t just Tail, but something insane and awesome, actually. This fic has incredible writing and a very compelling plot that gets PERFECT around the middle of the story; if you are someone who likes either Ojiro or Shinsou for no good reason, this is the fic focusing on them that you’ve been looking for. 125k, complete.
Mild-Mannered School Teacher/Adrenaline-Junkie Vigilante — Fuyumi/Miruko. Fuyumi becomes a vigilante and runs around vigilanting with Dabi, without realizing who he is; she gets a girlfriend along the way. Check this one out for a peak f/f ship and lots of Todoroki drama; funny and emotional at the same time. 136k, complete.
Back To Me — no ship. A story about Kurogiri finding Shirakumo, or maybe about Shirakumo finding Kurogiri. Either way, it’s a rollercoaster; mental conflict abounds as the man of mist tries to figure out who he is, and villain-hero conflicts aren’t exactly making doing so easy. 214k, in progress.
Quirked — Erasermic. Izuku travels to a parallel dimension where no quirks exist, and manages to bring a quirk along with him. Despite not having had one before. What else to do than to become a hero? This is the vigilante Izuku story to surpass ALL vigilante Izuku stories, full of fresh and interesting ideas as well as a carefully evolving plot. 133k, in progress.
Cracked Glass — no ship. Essentially a Promised Neverland AU, but it takes place in a dimension parallel to canon; when said dimension collides with canon, it begins the first chapter of a brilliant disaster. Ojiro stans, this is another fic just for you. If you’re not an Ojiro stan, read this anyway and become one. 192k, marked incomplete, but it more or less is finished.
Dermabrasion — Dabihawks. This is a world where Shouto goes looking for Touya, and wouldn’t you believe it, he finds him! Naruto is vaguely involved. No, that wasn’t a typo of Natsuo. SO MANY GOOD TODOFAM FEELS. God, this fic is excellent; really explores the dynamics of everyone in the family in wonderful detail. Yes, everyone. All the Todorokis get screentime here. 410k, complete.
make this feel like home — Tododeku. A story about the three younger Todoroki siblings trying to get along over the holidays; eventually, they drag the oldest brother in too. Short but sweet, funny, and hits you right in the heart. 26k, complete.
Cair Parallel — Shinsou/Kaminari. If you don’t ship them (as I do not) you can simply ignore that part; and it is beyond worth it, for this fic’s magnificent story. It’s gotta be one of the most creative things I’ve ever read. Modern no-quirks AU, but the gang plays dungeons and dragons; so many varied character arcs, all developing with an equal amount of focus, and so much humor alongside the complex relationships. If you’re of the opinion that Iida needs more fics where he’s a main character, well, I am too, so come check this out. 590k, complete.
Artificial Parenthood, Affectionate Brotherhood — no ship. If you read only a single fic on this rec list, read this one. It’s metaphorically every single chaotic Dabi-gets-deaged fic you’ve ever read, but combined into a vaguely coherent narrative that’s glued together by innovative word usage, that good old Todoroki angst, and Bakugou. There’s also time travel. There are so many thoughts in this story, and they’re all condensed tighter than a steel rope. I can read this again and again and again, and I still don’t know if I’ve found everything this has managed to express. Probably not. If I had to say the story was focused on anything, I’d say Dabi, Bakugou, and the escalating terror of existence. 208k, in progress. (the other fics in the series are worth a look, too.)
The World Ended Before It Could Begin (Time Doesn’t Heal All Wounds) — no ship. Shinsou time travels back from the Nomu apocalypse to save the world, and runs directly into a pre-Dabi Touya. Events proceed with a lot of confusion from there as Shinsou tries his best while trying not to rope his friends into danger as well (he does not succeed) and with no intention of gaining a family (he gets one anyway.) Lots of family feels and humor here; Touya goes undercover as Dabi at one point, which is hilarious. Also: duck feet. 72k, complete.
Lost In The Darkness — no ship. Shigaraki kidnaps Bakugou at Kamino, but instead of the events we all know, there’s an earthquake, and they both fall in a pit and die. Okay, they don’t die. They do become besties, though; a hero-villain team up that’s determined to change the world and recruit each other to their respective sides, Bakugou and Shigaraki are like a pinball machine that wrecks everything else around themselves for the better. The League attempts redemption, Midoriya and Kirishima try their best, and the Todoroki brothers get dragged into the situation one after the other. If one thing’s clear, it’s that no one’s life will ever be the same again. 394k, one chapter left.
Ignite to the Call — no ship. The dimension travel is premium here, my friends. A group of UA students wake up in a world that’s both similar and different to their own; where reality could have gone, if one thing had changed. What is that one thing? Surprise, no one knows! Featuring Izuku as Shigaraki’s little brother, Dabi as a guy who wants to know why Shouto froze him in an iceblock, a collection of teenage runaways and dangerous animals, one or quite possibly two ghosts, A Great Escape Plan, and copious amounts of kidnapping. 600k, in progress.
Bakugou Bewitched — no ship. I can think of no better way to describe this fic than the term Platonic Bakudeku; the friendship is strong in this one. In summary, Bakugou is inflicted with the curse of obedience from Ella Enchanted. (I’ve never watched Ella Enchanted.) It makes his life increasing flavors of difficult, and the relationship between him and Midoriya is the most twisted spiked thing, and also stronger than the hardest steel. These two are inseparable—to Bakugou’s great distress. If you want a fic that treats the Bakugou-Izuku relationship like the insane shard of intensity that it is without once touching the line of romantic, this is the one. There’s also lots of neat Bakugou family content, which I don’t see often. 155k, complete.
sunshine in the library — Shinsou/Izuku. A vampire AU with the most beautiful feels, this fic is coming for your heart, and dragging a new OTP along with it. The plot is best described as a bundle of awesomeness with Shindeku the main and magnificent focus. Featuring: Izuku as a guy way in over his head, Shinsou as the brooding vampire who needs some light in his life, and Iida and Uraraka as vampire hunters who are rather unhelpfully misguided. They’re trying their best. The plot that’s planned out for this fic is fifty two forms of brilliant, and I can’t wait to read it all. 46k, in progress.
Where your love has always been enough (for me) — Enji/Rei. Endeavor time travels after his death to twenty years in the past; to a time before he broke his family. He doesn’t break it this time. Endeavor redemption arc, and a Todoroki family where only the father holds the weight of what he had once done. Where sometimes there’s a second chance. I dunno, but maybe the Todorokis need a little less angst inflicted on them, every now and then, and positive emotions, instead. You’ll definitely feel positive emotions reading this. 160k, in progress.
This Is Why We Have The Rules — no ship. Kirishima makes an entire chapter worth of accidental innuendos, Iida almost becomes the overlord of UA out of sheer exasperation plus a lack of sleep, and Ojiro is the only normal student in class 1A. That’s it, that’s the fic, and it’s one of the funniest things I have read in my entire life. 8k, in progress.
Soulmates and Wormholes — Kiribaku, Tododeku. It’s a modern AU featuring the well-loved soulmates trope; but with a twist, and that twist is parallel universes. This fic is consistently hilarious throughout and tells a compelling story that only gets more and more interesting every chapter, and I cannot wait to see where it’s going. It’s excellent. 76k, in progress.
And that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

I just realized something!
Dabihawks has so many parallels to Romeo and Juliet
-Dabi and Hawks are on different side in war like Romeo and Juliet
-Dabi grew up in a rich and respected family like Juliet
-They also made everyone think they died.
-And their where thirteen when they do so
-Romeo and Hawks met Dabi/Juliet when trying to infiltrate a group their supposed to be fighting against
-They also killed someone in said group (Tybalt/Twice)
-Which caused Hawks to be banished from the league like how Romeo was banished from Verona.
-Dabi and Juliet also ended up going against their fathers' wishes for their future
-They cooperated with someone unknowingly or not to wake them after their "death" (AFO/Friar Lawrence)

for the ask game - I need to know what categories dabihawks and shigadabi fall under for u 👀
- @yinyuedijun
HI MAO I would be delighted!!!!! Thanks for the ask! =D
Shigadabi - Makes sense, compels me. Simple and clean. Actually tied with dabitwice as my favorite canon dabi ship
Dabihawks - THIS ONE IS LESS CLEAR. On one hand, there are SO many thematic parallels between these characters and I like the idea of pairing Hawks with loud emotional borderline manic characters to contrast his near terrifying control, so on one hand I wanna say Makes Sense, Doesn't Compel Me. But on the other hand, HORI NEVER FUCKING DID ANYTHING WITH THOSE PARALLELS!!!!!!!!! IT LITERALLY HOLDS ZERO WEIGHT IN REGARDS TO THE CANON CHARACTERS AND THEIR INTERACTIONS!!!!!!!! IT BUILDS UP TO NOTHING!!!! So in that case, I have to say Doesn't Make Sense, Doesn't Compel Me.
Unfortunately it will always be Doesn't Compel Me cause I do not like Hawks as a character specifically in regards to the canon. Idk how Hori did it, but he literally created a character that is literally Cop Incarnate, down to his patchy-ass goatee, and it REPELS me. It's like I've literally already been a room with this man irl and I could feel the slime from proximity.
(It doesn't help that Hawks has a lot of potentially interesting parts to his character, but Hori never takes them further than that. He's literally ONLY Cop Incarnate. Which is why I think I CAN be persuaded to read him in fic form, because sometimes those traits are explored and given the appropriate amount of screen time!!! So then he's still Cop but at least gets to be interesting about it!!!!!)
(also the dabihawks/dabixhawksxreader fics I have read have been.....................................................................................we'll say juvenile, to be nice)
(on that note, I will say that the porn that comes from those two is hot as hell!!!!!!!!! They be puttin them boys in situations!!!!!!! 👀👀)
Stick a ship in my ask box and I'll tell you which of these options it is for me!

okay while i digest that thirst (good fucking LORD) i just wanted to pen down the reason i ship dabihawks lol; ofc im not like tryna change your minds or whatever, if ya dont like the ship, thats okay!! but i just wanted to explain why bc ik some people dont understand why the fuck ppl ship em
personally, i see them as parallels to one another- hero raised by a villain, villain raised by a hero, and both of 'em have like. a venn diagram of ideals w some overlapping, except keigo still chooses to do good and touya is still seeking revenge and shit. they're oddly similar in their perspectives but also so, so different and that fascinates me!!
and yeah, while keigo does deserve better, and touya is also very much in need of help and depending on keigo, so to speak, isnt v helpful, i think that like. how do i say it. they understand and respect each other, but at the same time the differences between them allow them space to lash out and be a bit self-destructive (this is just how i see their characters, also partially bc i project a bit onto them)
idt im makin any sense rn but its like theyre reflections of the other but different and it feeds into their needs to be loved while also feeding their unhealthy sense of 'love/kindness/whatever will hurt and i deserve it' but they still have grudging respect and all which (to me) really sets up the enemies to lovers thing and i feel like, eventually, if given time, theyd be able to reach an understanding and grow and heal from it, yknow??
sorry for the essay omg :"))
-☆
Don't be sorry for the essay, we love essays on this blog!!!
That's an interesting perspective! It makes sense, and I do agree there are some parallels with the two characters for sure. Thank you for the point of view, it helps clarify things!

Hello.....if you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? Why you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks...
ooo this is such a great question anon! thanks for asking, bud, i've never got this before! Since this question was sent to my animanga blog, i'm going to just answer about couples in fandoms i rb on here!
Even though it seems like I go hard for non-canon couples (which believe me I do), there are so many canon couples that I actually love with my entire heart:
hak/yona (akatsuki no yona)
even though i still have to catch up to this manga, this couple has owned my heart since the moment they appeared on page. they are the definition of a true power couple who will go to the ends of the world to save one another. they throw themselves into danger just so the other can have the chance of safety. they've got one another's back through everything and anything. they will yell at one another but hold hands together side by side as they stand staring down their enemies. i just love how hak inspires yona to stand on her own and yona inspires hak to see the value in himself.
sakura/syaoran (cardcaptor sakura)
they're one of my top three childhood couples. they are just adorable and precious and they deserve only good things ever. they are just children who don't deserve to shoulder so much on their shoulders and yet they do it with minimal complaining. they are there for one another, especially through the hardest moments. he's her pillar and she's his heart. also they jumpstarted my pink x green shipping and i will always love them so much.
inuyasha/kagome (inuyasha)
they are also one of my top three childhood couples. they are everything. inuyasha sees the strength in kagome's compassion when she doesn't see it herself and kagome sees the softness in inuyasha's toughness that he doesn't let others see. they are one of the it couples. they fight, push one another to the edge, and bring one another back without another word. inuyasha's unwavering belief in kagome allows her to grow into a fucking warrior of a girl because his strength keeps her going and growing. kagome accepts all of inuyasha, which is huge for him because he's been accepted by neither world because he's never been enough for either world. but there comes kagome, not giving a shit about the worlds beliefs and going with what she believes in and that's him. it's beautiful.
lan wangji/wei wuxian (mo dao zu shi)
i'm going to cheat here because i haven't finished watching the anime but i have read the novel and watched the live-action show. i have been shipping them ever since i watched the show first because anyone who knows me knows that i love the red x blue ship aesthetic. i love how they went from strangers to friends to enemies (but not really) to lovers. it's a classic trope and i will always love it. the fact that lwj recognized wwx when he came back?? that's true love. lwj is there to support wwx when he doesn't want anyone to see him falling and wwx is there to break down lwj's world, to show that there's more to the world than just blindly following rules. the fact that they went from star-crossed lovers to being married is just the best thing ever. they are filled with all the angst AND they get their happy ending.
On to my non-canon couples (they are kept alive in my heart thanks to ao3):
dabihawks (boku no hero academia)
i will say that i have dropped bnha for now (unless two characters die, in which case i'll definitely pick it back up) but that being said, the fact that dabi grew up the child of a hero and turned to villainy while hawks grew up the child of a criminal and turned to heroism? this shit is so poetic. they are parallel lines moving in the opposite direction, ships in the night, opposites attract in such a hellish way. not only is their aesthetic red vs. blue but it's also angel vs. devil - the hero with the wings bathed in the colour of blood vs. the villain with the flames bathed in the colour of the sky. they've got an apollo/icarus vibe that i love so much. there's so much mutual destruction and they had so much potential to be even more insane than they already are.
soukoku (bungou stray dogs)
they are probably my otp of otp's right now, the ones that really kicked the whole red/blue shipping out of control for me. they are idiotic strangers to idiotic frenemies to idiotic enemies to idiotic partners forever. it's so poetic to me that dazai's ability is named no longer human and yet he's the one to bring back chuuya's humanity to him. i just really love that chuuya, who feels so brutally human so much of the time, hosts a god of calamity and can only be brought back to himself by dazai's touch. like point me to a better lvoe story than that? you can't because they are the epitome of catastrophic love. they don't judge one another's actions because they understand one another better than anyone else can. they are each other's weakness and each other's strength. they will destroy one another before anyone else can get the chance.

do you think dabihawks could have a happy relationship if they were canon? like in an alternate reality where the whole “I’mburning your wings” didn’t happen. you can use this ask to talk about how you think they would be together if you want to, im curious about your opinions haha
Ooooh, I love this subject. I even love exploring DabiHawks and their relationship after the war arc because when it comes to these two, I'm not looking for a realistic and completely healthy relationship with them, I'm looking for an interesting one.
What attracts me to the couple is their parallels in the story, one the son of a villain who became a hero, another the son of a hero who has become a villain, both of them connected to Endeavor for different reasons and for a while before Dabi revealed his plans to be a more self-centered than he originally pretened them to be, they seemingly had a similar goal of changing the current order of the world though for different reasons.
It's why fanfiction which allows them to become closer than what they could in canon is something I enjoy a lot, especially because I could see it in canon if the story had focused on the two of them.
Dabi and Hawks challenge each others world views and I think would ultimatey cause them to question their own goals and motivations. With Dabi comes the truth of Endeavor which in turns makes Hawks focus more on the issues of hero society, at least moreso than he already is, meanwhile Hawks shows Dabi that their is heroes who do care and also makes Dabi realise that he could potentially come to care more for Hawks than he does for his revenge (this is one of my favourite flavours in DabiHawks fiction because it's the first step in Dabi healing).
The two would also call out the other on their less than healthy behaviour, which I think is important in a relationship. You want someone who supports you, yes, but not unconditionally as that can easily lead into a manipulative and unhealthy relationship. It's like the two of them hold up a mirror to one another and show all the flaws they have, they're messy and imperfect but that's what makes them work well.
The potential the two of them share is immense and it's why it was my major ship when I joined the BNHA fandom.

for the ship bingo: serotodo and dabihawks
omg!! i love seroroki bc likeeee ahhh todoroki really deserves the opportunity to relax and have something stable and chill and wholesome and like 4 joints slipped into his butt pocket <3 and i love the idea of sero being with like the prettiest most seemingly unattainable guy in ua and just being like ‘how did i get here lol’
Tumblr media
don’t have that many circled for them but truly i love them <3 also they’re projection bc my sister was the one who got me into seroroki she lovees the ship and i was like yeah of course you do???? bc we kin the todoroki tragic backstory and she married a wholesome very chill and very funny stoner avdjdjdbdj but yeah!! they deserve lazy mornings and boba tea and face masks and goofs
here’s a cute & short seroroki fic i really like (nsfw but like light and funny)
(also the bkdk fic the distance between suns has a seroroki subplot that is actually soooo beautiful in a way that i never really saw the ship before like, knightly sworn devotion type stuff so if that interests you 👀)
okay dabihawks!!!!!!
Tumblr media
*cries into my pillow* yeah. yeah. it’s funny bc canon very much already gave them knives to see what happens and we saw and it was not great!!!!! but you know how it is when you gay break up with someone 🤷🏻‍♀️ anyways, im just so obsessed with the parallels between them how their origins were like the complete opposite and led them to clash in the way that they did and do you ever wonder if touya is jealous of the love and adoration hawks receives not only from the general public but endeavor himself?? and do you think keigo is jealous of the anonymity dabi can enjoy as someone who lives in the shadows of society, the ability to move freely and with autonomy?? idk even the fact that they both don’t go by their given names,,,, siri play parallels by big thief 😩 and i think we all know they enjoyed that undercover bit way more than just like ‘oh this is for a mission blah blah’ they were having fun with it!!! neither of those bitches have any friends their age
my dabihawks playlist 🥺
also you should follow @beybuniki bc their dabihawks art is sooooo 🤌🏼🤌🏼

dabihawks will save each other in the end
Ok this is mostly just wishful thinking also I’m ugly sobbing while writing this so don’t expect too much
We all know that a thing that bnha does is giving each major hero a villain counterpart that they will set out to save. i.e. izuku & tenko, ochako & toga. some might argue that since hawks and dabi are not exactly main characters, they will not follow this pattern. But both of them have recently proved to be actually crucial as characters and to the storyline; hawks is the no.2 hero that as a matter of fact out performed the no.1, and hori devoted three chapters to dabi’s fight with his brother which didn’t even come to a proper end. I would say that hori put very much care into these characters; he would possibly care about them enough to give them this “save/be saved” storyline respectively.
Since hawks said that he saw himself in twice, we were all driven to think that maybe the villain counterpart he ended up saving was twice. He said himself that he had wanted to save twice; but we all know that’s not how things ended. he didn’t save his supposed villain counterpart, but killed him. his “save/be saved” storyline with twice has failed.
We all thought shoto was going to be the one who saved dabi, but look. Dabi is back into the fight without showing any sign of remorse. I’m not saying that the todobros fight is entirely pointless, because it IS very important, but this also showed that shoto didn’t save dabi. Yes, he saved his brother’s life, but he didn’t save Touya from his villainy, his hatred, his anger, and his will to die. Touya wasn’t redeemed. Therefore, dabi’s “save/be saved” storyline with shoto has resulted in a temporary failure, too.
Dabihawks, on the other hand, had been set up as character foils since day 1. at this point it seems like all they do would be keep foiling each other without interacting ever again. Like lines that run parallel to each other but never intersect. But perhaps we could still have a little hope that it isn’t the case, that their foiling storylines would ultimately intertwine with each other once more. They r both the first to know each other’s real name, after all these years; in this sense, touya was the first in the world to know hawks as keigo, and keigo was the first in the world to know dabi as touya. the emphasis on “deku/izuku” and “tomura/tenko” let us know that names in bnha are directly related to one’s inner self, often the self that needs to be saved. hawks and dabi are inarguably the first to SEE each other’s true self, the self that needs to be saved. what I’m trying to say is that there is no way in hell to just overlook the significance of dabihawks revealing their true names at the same time, in the presence of each other, to see it as another loose end hori didn’t remember to tie.
Unintentionally or intentionally, dabihawks are now given the opportunity to be in the same range of battlefield again, with dabi seeking out endeavor, and hawks needing endeavor’s aid in defeating afo. Neither of their “save/be saved“ storyline has had a satisfying end, so it might just be possible that they, as perfectly written narrative foils, will enter each other’s story again; there might just be a chance that Dabi is the Shigaraki to Hawks’s Izuku, the Toga to his Uraraka. thx for coming to my ted talk.

I really need to sleep but I'm currently somehow mentally writing a Dabihawks childhood friends AU and I don't really know how that happened but when I was thinking about it, it occurred to me that the Dabi/Hawks parallels do another really good thing that challenges the idea of what it means to be a "hero."
I'm generally in favor of Endeavor's redemption arc, and before you can really accept Endeavor's redemption, I think you really need to accept that someone can both be flawed and do good, and these things do not cancel each other out. It's the age old leftist discourse: do we acknowledge someone's accomplishments, all the things they've done well, if they also have a list of things they've done poorly? Or do we fracture into small groups looking for moral purity before results?
Dabi and Hawks truly encompass this debate when considering their feelings toward Endeavor.
Hawks loves Endeavor. That was the man who saved him! Who gave him the courage to keep going - gave him the courage to make it here in the first place! He's Hawks' idol, and shouldn't he be? Didn't Endeavor have a tangibly positive effect on Hawks' life and the lives of many other people like Hawks?
Dabi hates Endeavor. Endeavor hurt him, caused him to end up where he did. He's his motivation to keep going, yeah, but only because he needs to see that man to his grave. Is Endeavor not the man who mistreated him, neglected him? Why shouldn't he hate Endeavor? Isn't Dabi only standing up for himself and his siblings?
And so the question is posed: Can a man be a hero if he hurts? Do his negative deeds always outweigh his positive deeds? Can he sit with the weight of his past sins and move forward, do better? Or is he always bound to be known by the worst things he ever did? (Implicitly, this also asks: Is it worth it for him to do better? If he can never be known by anything except his worst deeds, why would he do any good for the world?)
It's a really uncomfortable question to ask. And really, I don't know if the answers to those questions matter. To me, what does matter is asking, How can we hold someone accountable while still allowing them to do good where they can and grow where they need? It's a hard question to ask, and it doesn't have a one-size-fits-all answer.
I guess the point is that Dabi and Hawks are both victims, and that very victimhood shaped their perspective of the same man. And you can't dismiss one perspective in favor of the other; neither is more valid. They coexist, just as good and bad coexists within Endeavor, and growth can be obtained by using both perspectives, not just one or the other.
Also I have a childhood friends Dabihawks AU to write.

7 and 16 for the hate ask game<3
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
... I'm gonna get sm hate for this ;w;
I will preface by saying that hate is a strong word for what I feel abt these characters and would prefer to describe it as "apathy" no I'm not saying this as a desperate measure to prevent myself from being stoned to death why would you say that
........ momo, tsuyu and kirishima...
You have to understand that I joined the fandom in 2017 and people were so fucking annoying abt these three. It was impossible to go into the tags back then and not run into posts like "You're a bad person if you dislike Tsuyu/Momo" or "It's possible to dislike Kirishima/Tsuyu" blablabla. And I'm the kind of person that if you try to shove something down my throat I will spit it back in your face just to prove a point.
I understand fans wanting to hype up their favs but I found Tsuyu and (especially) Momo to be extremely underwhelming so that behavior just turned me off. & Kirishima is bc the kiribaku fandom were a fucking menace back in the day.
Despite my feelings for them, they're all good characters that deserved better opportunities to shine (rip all the ex-naruto/class 1A fans that wanted to see the konoha 13 done right)
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
omg I have sm fanon gripes, I'll just list a few otherwise we'll be here all day 💀
also sorry if I offend anyone
I never understood the trend in dabihawks fics to write Hawks as the functional sane perfect emotional support bf. He is an emotionally constipated indoctrinated murder chicken with serious mommy & daddy issues, how tf does that translate to perfect bf?
*widely gesticulates at Miruko's entire character* Miruko is the perfect example of widespread fanon characterization being absolute garbage. I get the knee jerk reaction of wanting to save her from Horikoshi's questionable writing, but in the process the fandom sand down all her rough ("problematic") edges & just leave her an empty soulless sock-puppet wearing Miruko's skin. Canon Miruko doesn't have much going for her but somehow Fanon Miruko manages to be even more shallow. #sorrynotsorry
I'm gonna get flack for this but I don't like the way fandom tends to portray found family. It feels inauthentic to me, especially when dealing with dysfunctional self-destructive and emotionally constipated individuals like the LOV. Found Fam LOV used to be my jam but I've grown tired of it 😔
And speaking of the LOV.... I love Spinaraki but I don't like the way most of the fandom interprets and depicts their relationship. Spinner's fanatic devotion to Shigaraki isn't healthy. Idk if I've talked abt it on this blog before but I see a lot of parallels between Killugon (hxh) and Spinaraki.
(Incoming spoilers for hxh chimera ant arc) In both cases you have person A (Gon/Shigaraki) going down a self destructive path, fueled by self loathing and person B (Killua/Spinner) that is extremely devoted to person A but bc of their lack of self worth is unequipped to truly help them and in the process unintentionally enables them.
I'm all for witnessing unhealthy devotion in fiction, I eat that shit up. But it does make me uncomfortable when I see people interpreting it in a purely positive light.

dabihawks if u didnt already get it if u did then HMMMM UHHHHHH togachako if u ship it
ohhh so close!!! But I can do Togachako
Yeah!!!! I like Togachako!!!!!!
So!!!
What made you ship it?
I'll be honest, I didn't initially like Togachako. I think it's because I wasn't thrilled with what Hori was doing with either character. To me, Toga's character was leaning too heavily into the "depraved bisexual" trope, and her and Ochako's convos always amounted to talking about a boy (Deku).
I think what overcame that for me was a slow process of appreciating Toga. After My Villains Academia and learning more about her, you start seeing the things you hadn't before.
So now I ship Togachako... interestingly?? And by that, I think the funniest way to look at their dynamic is Ochako stuck choosing between two love interests (Toga and Tsu).
What are your favorite things about the ship?
They're clearly meant to parallel each other in some respect, so I really love that for them!!! I think beyond the obsessiveness of it, there's a lot of heart between the two. Ochako is kind and sweet, but also determined and angry. Toga's clearly into it lmao! They could allow each other to be the kids they never got to be!! I like what they could be!!
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Hmmm not really? Other than it's not my first choice for Ochako, but very much a compelling choice and one that I think would give both Toga and Ochako the growth they desperately need!!

Can I get uhhhhh, an L, M, N,O with a side of W please? Thanks!
L: uhhhhhhhh. Well it depends.... I think I wrote the first chapter of These Violent Delights like 5 times? Like scrapped it and started from scratch. For a long time I just... I just fucking posted lmfaoo. Now I do revise specific scenes that I feel are weak or awkward by asking one of my best friends to help me workshop it and at the very least skim the whole chapter before posting.
M: oh sooooo many!!!!
Bakugo waking up in the hospital after That Scene from the manga, yknow. It's a fic meant to explore his dynamics with everyone (parents, izuku, the class, his teachers, and his closer friends)
Rodydeku au that parallels Hadestown
Lovebug songfic for Rodydeku of them getting together.
Another songfic for rodydeku about dealing with the vultures that are the paparazzi when they start dating. could and probably will be a followup to the previous one.
a porocks one shot regarding parenting and how katsuki would approach the whole "hitting your kids" thing (he is NOT for it, but it clashes with parents, it's a whole thing born from my own experiences overhearing my parents and family friends talk about corporal punishment in a way that makes me wanna scream)
a one shot of Rody and Deku's first time together because I don't like how Deku is written when it comes to sex. Like ever. Pairing doesn't matter, I just never like how he's written in them and rddk specifically is lacking in the concept
I'm currently messing with one based on Timezone and Loneliest by Maneskin kdjfaksdf
a dabihawks epilogue to the duology
a dabihawks fic where they don't start out as hate fuck buddies but genuinely have to work together leading to the whole falling in love with a little plot twist
N: No. I've come to accept that if I want it I gotta make it. And if I haven't finished one (Teaching a Heart, specifically) I would never be able to live with myself wanting someone else to finish it for me.
O: I think. I think that also varies. Sometimes a specific ship leads me to create a plotline (I.E These Violent Delights. That plotline would obviously not work with Kiribaku or Zukka, yknow?) and sometimes the plotline comes up and I'm scrambling to see which ship it fits and expand it from there (Like when I watched enchanted, realized it reminded me of Rodydeku, then I just revamped the overarching plot to be more specific to them)
W: I haven't taken prompts in a longggggg time, but I do think I prefer general ones because theyre more freedom for writing. But I WILL get in my head about whether it's what the person who requested it wanted asdkjfakf
