hi hi i havent watched. super many horror movies mostly just slasher classics do you have any.. recs where to go from there :0
jesus this is a big ask
okay so im assuming when you say slasher classics, you mean og texas chainsaw massacre, halloween, nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th, MAYBE scream too. these are all excellent starters.
if you want to broaden your slasher know how/explore some of the more iconic early horrors, i'd recommend the og black christmas, hellraiser, child's play, obviously some of the main franchise sequels (tcm2 and noes2 are both some of the better sequels out there). if you wanna go more niche, phantasma, puppet master, og prom night and terror train are pretty solid classics too. if you don't mind especially grody gore, the burning, motel hell and slumber party massacre are really good.
in terms of more modern slashers, behind the mask: rise of leslie vernon is SO soooo good. house of wax is a fun romp, and some of the og remakes are fun (in the gory way). friday the 13th and leatherface are especially interesting. all the scream sequels slap and the movies it inspired (i know what you did last summer and urban legend) are both decent watches
alsooooo since im invested in the jccu (jeffrey combs cinematic universe) you should watch reanimator, bride of reanimator and from beyond if you wanna experience some WILD practical effects and body horror...also so i can talk about reanimator with more people 👉👈

Hey Tena! I really love your blog, esp the horror movies post! :) I'm starting to get really into slasher movies and I was wondering if you maybe had some suggestions for me ! I've seen all the Screams and Friday the 13th so far and was looking for more ideas! Thank you! (:
I’ve always got horror suggestions!
Let’s start with a few proto-slashers (i.e., those films that helped mold the formula for the modern slasher.  They may not be as gory, but they’re important to what the slasher film would eventually become):
M (1931) - Fritz Lang
Peeping Tom (1960) - Michael Powell
Psycho (1960) - Alfred Hitchcock
A Bay of Blood (aka Twitch of the Death Nerve) (1971) - Mario Bava (I could have placed this in the next category, but the influence of this film in particular on the Friday the 13th franchise is quite noticeable)
Torso (1973) - Sergio Martino
Axe (1974) - Frederick R. Friedel
Black Christmas (1974) - Bob Clark
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Tobe Hooper
The Town that Dreaded Sundown (1976) - Charles B. Pierce
Alice, Sweet Alice (1976) - Alfred Sole
Massacre at Central High (1976) - Renee Daalder
The Hills Have Eyes (1977) - Wes Craven
Giallo films (personally recommended in order to best understand the genesis of the slasher subgenre):
Blood and Black Lace (1964) - Mario Bava
The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970)- Dario Argento
Five Dolls for an August Moon (1970) - Mario Bava
A Lizard in a Woman’s Skin (1971) - Lucio Fulci
Short Night of Glass Dolls (1971) - Aldo Lado
The Cat O’ Nine Tails (1971) - Dario Argento
Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1971) (Dario Argento)
Don’t Torture a Duckling (1972) - Lucio Fulci
The Red Queen Kills Seven Times (1972) - Emilio Miraglia
What Have You Done to Solange? (1972) - Massimo Dallamano
Seven Deaths in the Cat’s Eye (1973) - Antonio Margheriti
Eyeball (1975) - Umberto Lenzi
Deep Red (1975) - Dario Argento
The House with Laughing Windows (1976) - Pupi Avati
Tenebrae  (1982) - Dario Argento
Delirium: Photo of Gioia (1987) - Lamberto Bava
Stage Fright (1987) - Michele Soavi
Basic list of slasher films (as in, the most commonly-cited examples of the subgenre):
Halloween (1978) - John Carpenter
Terror Train (1980) - Roger Spottiswoode
Prom Night (1980) - Paul Lynch
Maniac (1981) - William Lustig
My Bloody Valentine (1981) - George Mihalka
The Burning (1981) - Tony Maylam
The Funhouse (1981) - Tobe Hooper
Hell Night (1981) - Tom De Simone

Hope this helps! :D

Celebrities Who Got Their Start In Horror Films
A rather remarkable number of stars began their film career or got their big break in horror films.
Big stars don't usually tread into the waters of the horror genre, either due to personal reasons or to the fact that horror films don't typically yield Oscar nominations. Still, one has to start one's career somewhere. It's quite fun to watch a horror film only to notice a younger version of a huge celebrity, and this happens more often than one would think.
Jennifer Aniston
America's sweetheart wasn't always so sweet. If you were to dig past Bruce Almighty, Office Space, and Friends you would eventually hit Leprechaun. Yes, a film about a little green man on a murderous quest for gold. Overall a very terrible film that spawned terrible sequels... several actually. The leprechaun has been to the country, the ghetto and outer space. Luckily, Aniston didn't follow and went on to have a strong career.
Johnny Depp
Captain Jack Sparrow wasn't always breaking hearts and taking names... okay, maybe he was but he wasn't always getting huge gigs. Before sword fighting through the Caribbean, before traipsing around Sleepy Hollow as Ichabod Crane and even before being a Cry-Baby, Depp was busy being a teen heartthrob as the boy next door in A Nightmare On Elm Street.
More interesting still is that Depp made a cameo later in the franchise in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, the sixth film in the series. Depp doesn't have any shame about his horror start and has no reason to, he's Johnny Depp for crying out loud.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Critters 3 to Romeo and Juliet is a bit of a leap to say the least. Before becoming a passenger on the Titanic or being Johnny Depp's brother in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? DiCaprio got his start with the third installment in the Critters franchise. How Critters made it to a third sequel, let alone a fourth sequel is beyond me. Pretty much the only actor in any Critters film to have a career, DiCaprio is one of the best in the business, despite his furry and other worldly little blemish.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Everyone should know that Curtis was, in fact, the scream queen of her time. Daughter of Janet Leigh, actress in the famous Psycho shower scene, Curtis acted in Terror Train, Prom Night, The Fog and of course Halloween. With style, grace and class Curtis took her roles in horror seriously.
That's not to say that the others on this list didn't, it's just that Curtis did it better than anyone. It's doubtful Curtis will return to horror after being killed off in Halloween: Resurrection but if she did make a comeback to the genre, I'd be the first in line.
Kirsten Dunst
Before Bring it On and Spider-man Dunst had an Interview With The Vampire. The blond bombshell nailed her role and helped bring an already good film to a higher standard. Although her career has slowed down a bit, we haven't seen the last of Dunst. Guaranteed.
Kevin Bacon
No one uses Friday the 13th when they play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. Bacon does an excellent job in his small role and gets probably one of the best kills in Friday the 13th history. Bacon is no stranger to the horror genre. He has been in films like Stir of Echos, Tremors and Hollow Man. If Kevin Bacon can make dancing in Footloose look fun, he can handle horror films.
Corey Haim and Corey Feldmen
The eighties are long since over and it's still impossible to talk about Haim without mentioning Feldman and vice-versa. The late Haim pushed his career off with a Stephen King inspired movie called Silver Bullet where he got to act along the always entertaining Gary Busy.
Feldmen got his start with Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter, one of the best installments in the franchise. Then, both Haim and Feldmen appeared in the 80s cult classic The Lost Boys. Each one of those films is still fun to dust off every once in awhile, a true testament to the likability of the two young actors.
John Travolta
If, for some twisted reason, you always wanted to see Travolta get into a car accident, Carrie is the film for you. In a bit role, Travolta manages to grab you attention. But even before Carrie, Travolta had The Devil's Rain - a weird, offbeat William Shatner film. Honestly, stick to Grease and Pulp Fiction.
This list could go on and on, but you get the idea. Celebrities have been getting their start in horror forever and for good reason. It's east to see an actors depth and believability when their being possessed or being chased a werewolf. Nothing tests acting better than ghosts, monsters and boogeymen. The next time you watch an obscure horror movie or even a mainstream one for that matter, keep a lookout for the big name actors.
