When I’m playing genshin, I’m mostly listening to either Paternity Court, or Steve Wilkos. Imagine the characters hearing all of the stuff and being so scandalized by the results and comments. Or being genuinely disgusted and heartbroken for the victims in more serious cases. I can def see a good chunk of them being invested

I don’t think I’ve listened to those yet! I do occasionally get on a true crime binge listen, however the weirdest thing my characters have heard has gotta be Game Grumps episodes or compilations lol

What if i listened to every season of Buzzfeed Unsolved.

What would we do then my Genshin characters, my people, what then.

I saw someone else write about this true crime documentary thing but they described everyone being pretty terrified or disgusted by the podcasts

Which I definitely think some would be literally horrified lmao

But also I think a lot of them definitely would be invested-

I mean shit,

you're listening to your God and they just start playing this like uncomfortably detailed intricate crime case/murder report???

I would be so interested in what kind of person they were, and why they were listening to true crime stuff,

so needless to say characters like Heizou and Yelan would definitely be into it, maybe Kujou Sara as well?

I can see Zhongli getting into it too and Raiden

I mean don't get me wrong plenty would be disturbed

like rest in peace Barbara 🙏

but like it would be fascinating to them too!!

cuz they don't know anything about our world so they could learn a lot about it thru listening to this stuff

tho it probably cause a lot of confusion whenever they hear things like phone or computer or car lol

you know stuff that hasn't been invented yet for them or there is no equivalent, but they

would deffo interrogate u about ur world when u get to Teyvat

I feel like they would think that instead of a recording definitely, especially because most of these things are just people talking and not like, a speech or something

because audio recordings could exist for them, they would probably get it in concept, they do have Ley lines that do that afterall (and now Kameras)

esp if ur like me and u just turn on a cool Spotify playlist while u play sometimes, like they've probably never heard so many radically different genres songs, and so many back to back

(could definitely see a myth about u having an immortal inexhaustible musician band that has access to all the songs of the universe that u make them play for you, once again, would be hard to deny bc that's a pretty accurate description of spotify lol)

Halucinations??

The whole day you were thinking about going home, getting a nice, warm bath, and going to sleep after all the work that you have done.

You were so exhausted that even getting your shoes off and opening the door felt like a chore. So you took your time, its not like it was due anytime haha.

While you get your keys out, you realised a sweet aroma filling the air, maybe one of your neighbors is making food, which made you realise you are actually hungry.

The smell was so out of this world that you would kill to get a piece of whatever they were making, but your exhaustion didn't make you even move. So you decided to ask for the recipe tommorrow.

You finally opened the door and draged yourself inside. The smell getting stronger but you opened the windows before leaving so you brushed it off as the neighbor profably has as well.

You open the door of your room, passed some group of people that made noise and fall on top of your bed. Slowly dosing off.

......

.....wait a second.

You wake up and stand back up the second you realise what the hell is happening.

"W-WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

"Your Grace!! We can explain!"

"GET OUT GET OUT!" you grab the nearest thing you can use as a weapon.

suprisingly, that scares them?

"PLEASE DONT EXECUTE US WE DİDN'T MEAN TO!!!"

You throw your weapon at them and grab something else.

They slowly take a step back, "just don't be scared ok?"

Now that you regained most of your senses because of their calmer voice and further distance, you can analyse the situation.

These people, who are in a very cool cosplay of genshin impact, came in your house, and acted like you are the Queen of england for some reason??

İf you weren't scared out of your mind, you would be pretty goddamn impressed by all the cosplays.

Albedou's face looks like it's handmade made from chalk, Al haitham was super tall and well built, Like straight out of a Wattpad story. YELAN LOOKED SO HOT?!?! The only meh cosplay was Kujou Sara's cosplay. The material looked pretty hard.

Venti's outfit was unlike any cosplays you ever seen, it had crazy amount of detail. Nahida's hair looked so real that you bet it glows too! Even Ei and zhongli's eyes have a little glow on them.

".....why are you in cosplay..."

"Cos.... Play?"

"WHY ARE YOU HERE AT ALL??"

"Perhaps it is better that i explain" Albedou's mouth moved, you kind of got scared as it looked like it can break any second.

"Perhaps you don't recocnise us, but we are your followers."

"This is so weird...."

He continued without paying you any mind. "İ recently came across a knowledge that we can contact you without breaking the holy scripture.

So naturally, i experimented on it. And i managed to open up a portal that leads us to your world."

"Ok now you are talking nonsense."

"Quite the contrary, its only science"

"NOTHİNG ABOUT THİS İS SCİENCE!!'

"With that said" Kujou Sara spoke "we weren't sure if it was concidered a sin in your eyes." She fall to her knees, the other imitiating her. "We are ready to take our punishment you deem necessary."

You just... Stared at them...

THESE PEOPLE ARE İNSANE!!!!

"Yeah im not calling the cops. İm gonna call an ambulance"

Before you manage to take your phone and dial in numbers, Albedo asked you "uh, your highness...?"

"What?"

"İt seems that i forgot to take out the food from the fire. Could i go and make sure it isn't burned?"

"...the smell was your cooking?"

"Forgive me, i was looking through the devices in your world and got carried away, i wasnt sure on the purpose of the device, and decided to Cook something."

Your stomack rumbles at that, you aren't sure if you should eat anything an insane person does but you were too tired to think anyway.

"....could i taste it..?"

His eyes go wide "...realy?"

"İm... A bit hungry, i didnt have time to eat today."

"Of course! İll go grab you a plate!"

The others also raise their head "Can we do anything else?!"

"Uhhh???" You weren't sure, would they go aggresive if you don't let them? They might have actuall mental illness afterall...

"You guys can sit down in the living room, that would help!"

Al haitham looked at you "help with...?"

"Uhh, me to gather my toughts?"

"Of course! Take your time." Zhongli sais. And then adds "...sorry to disturb you but... Where is the living room?"

"Where television is?" You decide to test them

"Uhhh, huh... Vision.... Where vision is...."

"Oh boy just follow me."

You ate your food. İt was so good! But you kind of wished you didn't wish for tasting the food before coming inside the home and wish for something else. Like all your work going away.

You joined them in the living room. Ei and Sara looks were sitting on the ground, in front of the coffee table. They all turned at you when you walk in.

"Feeling better?" Nahida asked "your face gained its color back!"

"...yeah, thank you for the food."

"Will you hear us out now?" Al haitham spoke up, he was getting tired himself.

"How did you come here?" You decide to ask. Maybe getting some clues on who they actually are and help the cops, who are on their way.

"We opened a portal from our world to your world." Albedo explained again.

"Right, right, but i meant how did you come inside my house?"

"We fell"

"Fell?"

"We were thrown out of some strange device."

"Device... You mean my computer?"

"Com.. comput-er?"

You decide to check on it, praying that they didn't break it....

İt was there! Safe! Not a single scratch! You thank whatever god that came to mind for it.

Then you Heard a strange noise coming from your computer. İt never made that noise before.

You opened your computer.

As soon as you do, wind pics up and sucks everything that is not supported by something heavy inside the computer.

The screen looks like a small version of the abyss, and you see your work papers/notes fly inside the screen.

You immediatly close the computer.

Yeah you are halucinating from working too much. When you wake up, everything will be back to normal.

No more maddness. Just sleep.

And with that you fall back on your bed.

After a dreamless slumber, you wake up to knocking on the door.

"Police! There has been a notice about 8 people forcefully getting inside the house, we are armed and will shoot if you ressist!"

"Your grace..?"

Uh-oh it wasnt a dream.

You quickly got up from your bed and opened the front door.

"Ah im sorry im the one who sent that. My friends were just playing a prank on me and i didn't realise it was them. İm sorry for disturbing you."

The cops just said something about fake notice and left.

"OH MY GOD THİS İS SO STRESSFUL!!"

"How did you call them here?"

"Nevermind that... God i need a break..."

"Will you listen to us for Real this time?" Nahida asked, actually worried about you.

You droped your head. You know what you saw. But you are still not sure if you should belive them. But at this point, what can you even do?

"Fine, please tell me from the start."

But they weren't going to give up on you that easily. So they weren't leaving anytime soon either.

Yeah you aren't going to be able to open your computer for a while.

Well at least they are the best room buddies you can ever hope for.

Zhongli is confused about money situation but got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Yelan, Nahida, albedo and al haitham all tried to convince you into visiting Tevat.

"Man this house chores are pain"

"İt wouldnt be if you were in tevat smh" Yelan said.

Venti bought wine with your money. (They be expensive) but apologised with a song he made for you!

Ei acts like a guard dog for you. Not sleeping at all and keeping an eye on you (apperantly she stoped a criminal and is a Superhero now)

So its pretty caotic untill you decide to leave this world and go back home.

okay, so i maxed out Arlecchino and tested her vs Hu Tao just for funsies, this is her build

and this is Hu Tao's build

I'd say they are close enough builds to be fair, and arle's artifacts are actually kinda better asdfghjk. i didn't use homa on her bc all guides say jade spear is better

so, the main differences between them is that Arlecchino has massive spike of damage at the beggining of rotation, when her bond of life is maxed and bennet's buff is up, but with time her damage falls off as you consume the bond of life and benny's buff goes out. hu tao's damage is consistent throught the rotation.

to the actual numbers, test is against overworld saimon, here's arle vv vape (arle-kazuha-yelan-bennet), biggest hit:

keep in mind, arle's attacks have different multipliers, and this is the 6th one, the last in the attack chain, the first 5 attacks ranged from like 40 to 50 to 60k

hu tao vv vape, hu tao-kazuha-yelan-benny:

so yeah, hu tao's damage per hit is just strictly better. arle can do more hits bc she's just doing normals and hu tao is doing charge attacks, but bc all hu tao's damage is consistently high, it averages out in her favor

i'm not a sweaty gamer tho, so i don't play vv vape in the abyss, so lets look at their most comfy teams with zongli

arle-zhongli-yelan-benny, highest hit:

average is kinda 20-30-60k

hu tao - zhongli - yelan - XQ:

oh yeah, hu tao does 2 instances of dmg per charge attack, small one and then the large, in vv vape small one just got lost in all the clutter, so actually vv vape does ~200k per attack, and double hydro ~110k

bc arle's numbers vary so much, i think its not fair to just compare single hits, so i tried them in the abyss second side with comfy teams and the same abyss buff of 80 EM

arle's team killed dendro chicken in 42 seconds, from 09:06 to 08:24

hu tao's team killed it in 39 seconds, from 09:07 to 08:28

basically 2 rotations for both

next, arle killed PMA in 1 min 15 sec, from 09:03 to 07:48

hu tao killed PMA in 1 min 4 sec, from 09:11 to 08:07

actually 3 rotations for arle and 2 for hu tao. caveat is that i restarted this chamber for arle 4 times, bc i just couldn't bring PMA down in 1 rotation, but it didn't work anyway. for hu tao, i played one time and it was a mess honestly, i was finishing it on physical asdfghjk

also, i did not animation cancel for hu tao AT ALL, so if you do, her ceiling for damage goes way up. but i've seen ppl say hu tao is only great if you do the cancels and like. no. shes great even if you don't

anyway, conclusion: in vape arle is as good as badly played hu tao. i do not have cop girl, but i have high hopes that i can play overload with arle once i do. for vape i kinda prefer hu tao, bc she's not tied to a benny circle and i actually usually don't play her with shield, but in like hu tao-kazuha-yelan-XQ or mono pyro or hu tao-xq-yelan-xiangling, bc hu tao is very tanky and can heal. but i wanted to have like the fairest possible comparison, so i tested with shields, bc arle without shield feels horrible tbh

Of all the Genshin characters, Yelan has the strongest femme fatale vibes.

Honorable mention to Kaeya.

Hanachirusato and (pre-intervention) Hanyuuda Chizuru vibe that way a little.

Maybe also Dunyarzad for the first two minutes of her appearance while she's doing skullduggery, but that goes away once the narrative shifts her into a more Hapless Maiden role.

The first noir!Fischl fic cast Bennett as a homme fatale, and... kinda?

Rosaria and Diluc are noir protagonists more than side characters.

Dehya is just a femme.

Zhiqiong is a femme, fatality'd.

Alrani is a failwife (cringe subvariety)

Candace is a cop.

Ningguang and Lisa give off vibes from a distance, but the illusion disappears once one gets to know them.

The room is void of light and no matter how much you try to let escape the tiniest bit of elemental energy, not even a hushed grumble of geo, a faint whisper of ameno, nor a confined crackle of electro escape any part of your being. You note that the ground and the room have been heated very slightly, warming your legs sprawled in a disorganised fashion. An anomaly. This room void of light, proper windows and people, is a room intended for torture. You’d know, the Kujou Commission’s domain making sure to teach you this very lesson as you and Yoimiya went off to fight the Fatui.

Wait, the Fatui..?

You spot the crimson insignia imprinted on the door handle, looking awfully like an empty gun barrel, through the sliver of azure tinted moonlight that creeps through the barred windows, blacked out by wiring. Although the blazing torment of humiliation licks at you, hope swells in your chest knowing that Tartaglia will free you from this unfortunate predicament.

Speak of the devil.

A rattle of a doorknob. The creak of a jail cell. The gentle jingle of an earring against fabric. The clacking of a pair of heels.

No, two pairs of heels.

In your vision, swims not one, but two figures. A flick of a switch and the room is dimly lit, and you allow your eyes to fixate on the bodies looming over your own.

“Comrade, I must say I’m thoroughly disappointed.” A saccharine voice matches an equally saccharine grin, “Stealing from Northland Bank and caught red-handed just a week later? I thought you fought a god?”

What..?

“N-no, Tartaglia, you’ve got the wrong person. It really wasn’t me. I have no use for money, you know that! The Kamisato Clan paid me favourably, and Beidou gave me a share of the loot we got to keep when defeating treasure hoarders by the coasts of Inazuma. I still have most of the money you gave me when Teucer snuck into Liyue!”

Cool yet wild blue eyes look you up and down, and your ears heat up as you look up at him from your knees. Your gaze flickers to the side of the room to remedy the sheer embarrassment of his unhinged gaze, yet you are met with feline eyes, the iridescent hue like the depths of a tropical sea. They glow in the dark briefly and buzz with an emotion that you can’t put your finger on.

“Miss, do you think we ought to deal with the Traveller?” The redhead’s voice is tinted with a sense of playful sadism as his gaze burns you even further.

The woman in question has a catlike grin blooming on her face as an idea visibly pops into her head. Her pinky-purple lips glisten in the light. “I have heard how Fatui deals with liars, though I’m sure this one is luckier than the others.” The harsh fragrance of leather and a hint of orchid wafts around you as she inspects your petrified visage, her predatory expression tells you that you are the mouse to this catlike woman: “I believe that this one should leave alive, yet not unscathed.”

A gentle yet dangerous chuckle echoes in the prison cell, “Don’t look like that, Traveller. We won’t kill you, but we will enjoy the thrill of finally hunting you down.” The words he utters are laced with an emotion heavier, muskier than bloodlust. You’ve fought and sparred with him many times, you know what he sounds like when he wants to fight. You know that he doesn’t want a duel. His words usually become more slurred and his eyes less focused, but now his voice is both teasing and as gentle as a chime of an ornament and it rivals the glazed over yet evermore intent expression on his face. “You thought we wouldn’t notice? Yelan nods, a small smile on her face. "He told me tales of you and your adventures. I had to see you for myself, it's only an extra I got to really enjoy your moaning." You nod at her politely, arms still above your head.
