hiiii, so youtube randomly recommended me a scotty james interview and since i was bored as fuck i actually watched it and let met tell you, this thing was full of lance lore. first of all, lance and scotty met at the urinals at the melbourne gp, like what???? 😂 and scotty recognised him instantly but didn't think lance would recognise him and didn't say anything but lance went like "oh, scotty james." whilst they were both peeing and i'm just.... lance let the boy pee in peace... 😂 and apparently after that one conversation most of which took place at a literal fucking urinal lance called up his sister and her that he had found her future husband... lance my boy, just what did you see at the urinal?? 🙃 but it worked out and now they have an inside joke everytime they're at the melbourne gp about how they should go for their piss together and i'm just like.... don't tell me these people are adults... they're literally still just children 🙃 the interviewers also asked him about dts and what the show might have missed when it comes to lance and scotty said that he's very happy go lucky and funny but also that he feels for lance in that he (and some of the other drivers) feel the need to protect themselves from people and the media because they will rip you apart for anything and as such we might not get to see their full selves as a consequence which... fully understandable.... (oh and apparently lance's hebrew name is jacob) (also sorry for the full on rant, he also had INTERESTING opinions on oscar but this is already a goddamn monologue 😂😂)

I love whenever Red Flags podcast clips show up in my fyp on tiktok 😭😭 This episode was WILD and I love how Scotty just rolled in like "Hell, yeah, let me give you all the tea, including when me and Lance saw each other's dicks" 💅✨ The Red Flags guys got such good humour, perfect for me 👌 (I really need them to get Lance on the podcast, that would be hilarious)

Going on record to say Rings of Power absolutely slaps, as a lifelong Tolkien fan I'm so disappointed the way people tried so hard to judge it before it even aired and wanted it to be bad so much that they've literally convinced people to be afraid to watch it and judge for themselves. The visuals are STUNNING, the costumes are phenomenal, the creature design is haunting and so visceral. And the characters and world feel so *lived* miss me with that shit about it being low effort or budget, you can't judge a show by a handful of promo stills. I'm glad I didn't listen to the bs takes from people who are mostly just trying to hide their bigotry behind Tolkien worshipping zealotry.

are they implying that she's only "meaningful" because she's related to ed? because...yikes dog. sarah serves a pretty similar role to the kankers in that she foils the scams and pranks and acts as an obstacle and/or deterrent. an antagonist. but the way they fulfill the role and the reaction they get from the eds are different in ways that i'm too lazy to get into at the moment.

now i could genuinely be missing something because i've never taken a class on media analysis or whatever the fuck, but i truly don't get what people mean when they say nazz is uniquely lacking in personality. i'm not saying eene has excellent, fleshed out female characters, but some people act as if 1) any of the non-eds have highly complex personalities that are explored canonically 2) being kind, outgoing, flirtatious, sporty, etc. aren't personality traits. just because someone doesn't like her personality doesn't mean it doesn't exist. and we know just as much, if not more about nazz's interests than we do the kankers. or jonny: he likes wood, is laid back and seems to enjoy superheroes. or kevin: he likes bmx. he's a bully. he has a crush on nazz. he's buds with rolf, whose backstory we probably know the most about after the eds (maybe even more?). then there's jimmy who lowkey has a great, complex personality.

seems like since nazz is pretty, is into stereotypically "girly" things and is nice, people consider her a "bad" (female) character. which to me is hilarious and ironic. these are the same people who call the kankers "evil". like okay... 😂

this idea that all female characters are supposed to be virtuous geniuses... it's a show about 3 dumbass preteen boys. there are tons of female-led shows available out there, and female main characters galore. these people should go watch em. seriously. im tired of hearing about it frankly.

oh and if edd was canonically a girl, people would hate her and call her a mary sue 👍

tbh I really wanted the 3jimas to win that fight, to have Kiryu realize that his actions have consequences and that maaayybeee the people he keeps disappearing on to only reappear briefly to make demands of are finally sick of it and the rose tinted glasses of admiration have come off

no absolutely i really needed kiryu to just. //shakes him//

another thing i really wish we got from IW was daigo going off on kiryu- like he STARTED to but i needed that Y4 shit RIGHT NOW. if Y4 did anything right, it definitely helped broaden daigo's character in how having the chairman title pushed onto him was stressing him out and having him express this to kiryu was SO cathartic, even if daigo's words ultimately mean nothing to kiryu (or at the very least, kiryu did a bad job on understanding daigo's grievances and helping him afterwards)

it really is agitating that the jimas ended up going to the tower anyway too. i get that saejima and majima are kiryu's ex-colleagues and daigo's practically his son, and the fight was supposed to be a 'wake up call' for them. but it just diminishes the anger we saw from daigo in that first scene (and as if i have to say it, daigo becoming angry is a rare thing so that when it does happen its so jarring and it's meant to be serious) and it continues to excuse kiryu's general disregard for others if it means he gets what he wants.

its unfathomable to me that after nearly two decades of holding a position daigo didnt want for the sake of his idol, he finally gets to break away from it. and now his idol's just waltzing back into his life- after acting like he was dead for three years- asking for ANOTHER favor. and daigo's just supposed to accept it. if kiryu wasnt literally dying i just know he'd keep doing this until his last breath and no one would punish him for it because despite how many times he claims to understand daigo's woes, it's evident he doesn't care enough to leave him out of things

I'll never be able to take the theory that Vincent is Sephiroth's real father seriously cuz I cannot stress enough how important I think it is to the plot that Vincent wanted to fuck Lucrecia and did not get to.

Well if we think about it, it kinda makes sense. JimmySea were in a really popular show this year so they won’t get another until next year. I mean, how many pairings get 2 shows a year? Maybe the ones that weren’t as huge. And they did say not now but soon so another show next year has gotta be guaranteed! Let’s look forward to that! And we still have LOL and you still have your fanmeeting to look forward to too!

yeah no absolutely like. i know im being entirely overdramatic and that it’s silly to even be upset about something like this what with the current global situation and all, but it’s just. it still sucks ;;;;;;;

i know it was selfish of me, but i really just needed this one little thing to look forward to. hell, i didn’t even necessarily wanted a possible jimmysea series to air this year, i just needed a mock trailer to obsess over and keep me going just like it happened with last twilight. and maybe last twilight itself is also the issue here, or rather, my feelings for it are. i just can’t help but think i would feel way better about jimmysea not having new project for part 2 if i loved last twilight as much as i love vice versa, but i don’t. i still can’t think about it without a wave of sadness and disappointment washing over me, so rewatching it is out of the question, at least for the foreseeable future. i literally only have vice versa to sustain me for who knows how long and i will never say it’s not enough, but i do believe it’s quite normal to want more

and i don’t wanna be like. ‘technically last twilight is from the 2023 line up and actually there are pairings who got a series in 2023 AND part 1 AND are going to attend part 2 as well’, but even if none of this was true, it’s hard for me to forget just how bad it was for jimmysea until last twilight. to this day, i still see people talking about them as “a second rate pairing” and speculating about GMMTV splitting them up for good just because they’ve been paired with women in ploy’s yearbook and the trainee, and GMMTV not riding their popularity wave is just gonna give way to more comments like these and im frankly tired of them

anyway. im sorry for the rant, i know you were just being sweet and trying to make me feel better, so i hope this doesn’t come off as mean or as if im upset at you ;;;;;;;; im actually very grateful because i do need someone who can be a bit more objective about this rn and i really appreciate you taking the time to send me a message!!!!!

im probably just gonna be unnecessarily dramatic for a couple more days and then go back to being the most insufferable clown on this entire site until GMMTV 2025 comes STAY TUNED ✌️

Yes there's an important difference between non-artists' critiques and artists' critiques. Both can be very important due to the differences in how people perceive things. Both are welcome
