Thais have so many opportunities to make films based on local folklore, but for some reason they so rarely do it, and almost always in short films

i will forever be in awe at what great of a story you can tell in only 20 minutes when you have enough artistic vision. and the fact that this was shot with an iphone???????? there are hollywood movies that don't even have this quality!!!!!!!!! like these shots alone are INSANE

also when bas tried to burn the mask but the house went up in flames instead??????? TO ME THAT'S CINEMA

okay sorry im done gushing about this, let me get back to your message. honestly idk enough about thai medias as a whole to judge, i can only speak about QL series and when it comes to those i definitely think companies could draw way more inspiration from their folklore and mythology to build a story out of it. i do think we are slowly starting to get a little bit of that tho: im still stuck on episode 3 of the sign, but the naga and garuda are mythical beings that in thai's culture dwell within the himmapan forest, and now with goddess bless you from death we're maybe gonna delve a little into all the many ghosts of their folklore

but yeah in general i think there can never be enough media based on mythology and folklore so i absolutely agree with you on this and hopefully we'll get to see more of it in the upcoming years!!!!!!!

it's 5 am and i can't sleep so im gonna be negative for just a second before moving on but like

after seeing change2561's line up and knowing what kind of shows companies like idolfactory and domundi and beoncloud are offering when it comes to their queer content, thinking about GMMTV 2024 part 2 makes me even more sad and disappointed. hell i personally don't even like domundi and beoncloud as companies but why is it that they actually invest in the QL shows they produce while GMMTV keeps giving us the same stuff over and over again

what's the point in having 16 QL shows announced in a year if then you give all your budget and interesting storylines to het series. also the fact that so many BL actors in GMMTV need to do straight shows to experiment different genres and grow is giving 'queer shows are second rate and only good for money' (from the company's pov, artists have no fault in this)

like i do appreciate GMMTV for other things and im still gonna watch their shows, but also it's not 2018 anymore, it's about damn time they start treating QL shows as an actual art form

#and i know change2561 is under GMM too but the point still stands #also i think GMMTV is doing better with their GLs but considering we only have 3 it's hard to judge #and it also opens some interesting discourse about the way GL and BL are seen but i don't have the strength to go there #anyway #m: txt #gmmtv #thai ql

ma poi, di fatto, ci sono tutta una serie di esperienze passate e di meccanismi mentali che ancora oggi mi viene difficile scrollarmi di dosso, fra cui la paura di essere percepita come 'troppo': troppo bisognosa, troppo fastidiosa, troppo negativa, troppo depressa. e d'altra parte, non trovo giusto riversare sugli altri i timori e le ansie che nascono esclusivamente dalla mia insicurezza e poca autostima

lo so che, a ruoli opposti, non vorrei che una persona a cui voglio bene si isolasse, ma che al contrario si sentisse libera di confidarsi e chiedermi aiuto, ma quando si tratta di me stessa, nella mia mente questo sembra non valere

è un momento cosí, passerà (si spera il piú in fretta possibile ;;;;;;)

Thank you for sharing your story. I don't have enough words like "it's going to be okay, you'll get over it, you'll figure it out," even if it's just words spoken into the air. I don't have people who can just listen to my inner torments, so thank you for sharing your experience. I'm happy to know that you took it easy enough and dealt with it. As for me, I am completely confused about myself, and the more I read, the more complicated everything becomes in my brain. But I'll try to figure it out. Thanks again for telling the story about yourself. It's very personal, and you're very brave.

i know it's not quite the same thing, but even if im just a faceless person behind a screen you do have me and i am willing to listen to what you're thinking and feeling if you need it. sometimes even just putting it out there can bring some kind of clarity

and maybe it doesn't mean much, but it IS going to be okay and you WILL figure it out. there really isn't a time limit about discovering yourself, it can happen at 15 or 30 or even 60. it's also okay to question and to explore, and to take as long as you need to find an answer that feels right for yourself, no matter what that answer may be. i really cannot stress enough just how your identity does not have to be pinned down or labelled right away, or even ever, if you're not comfortable with it

if reading about the topic or other people's experiences is only making everything more confusing, you can step away from it for a while and give yourself some time to process everything. in the end, every journey is different and you're the only one who can tell what's right for you, and you're gonna get there
