Parties were NOT Simon Riley's cup of tea. Not only did they drain his social battery, but he was the type of man that much preferred the comfort of a good book and his bed over that of social interaction.
But today was New Year’s Eve, and not only had Soap practically threatened him to come, you would be there. Seeing you would make attending the shitty party worth it. Seeing you always made anything worth it.
Simon walked into the mess hall, his heart racing slightly as he realized just how many people were here. All of the soldiers still on duty were gathered, eating, drinking, joking. Just the sheer amount of chaos that was ensuing made Simon want to run back to his room.
Until he saw you.
He found you watching TV, nursing on some concoction of drink, a languid smile on your lips as you saw him approach.
“Sergeant.” Simon nodded in your direction as he came to stand by you, thankful you couldn’t see the crimson forming in his cheeks.
“Lieutenant.” You smiled up at him, before letting your eyes fall back to the TV in front of you. "Surprised to see you here tonight."
Simon grunted in reply, his eyes scanning the crowded mess hall, finding his Scottish friend laughing with a group of recruits. "Johnny forced me. Plus, the company isn't so bad."
You turned your face slightly, a blush reaching your cheeks at his admission. "Glad to know my company is suitable for you."
You both stood watching the party for a while as a comfortable silence fell between the two of you. This was one of the things Simon adored about you. You never forced him to talk, which frankly, made him all the more eager to do so with you.
“Y/N-.” He began, but Johnny had cut him off with a tap of his glass.
"Alright everyone, begin the count down! It’s ten seconds to midnight!” Johnny called out, grabbing everyone's attention, prompting nearly everyone in the mess hall began to shout out the countdown.
"Ten!"
You couldn't help but look over at your lieutenant, your breath hitching slightly as you saw he was already looking at you, his soft brown eyes softening as they locked on you.
All of the noise in the background, the cheers, the conversations, the sound of the TV, all vanished in that moment. The only thing mattering to you was the way that Simon Riley was looking at you.
"Nine!"
Your many years alongside him began to swirl in your head, all the long missions, the close calls, all those times he risked his life for you, and you for him. All those times he'd let you in to see the man behind the mask, the man that was Simon Riley.
Your feelings for him had only grown in all the time you'd been alongside him, and you found yourself utterly and completely in love with your superior.
"Eight!"
Simon took a step closer to you, his eyes remaining as stoic as ever as they stayed locked on yours. You always hated how you could never tell what he was thinking, could never read what he was feeling by his looking in his eyes.
God, what you would give to be able to know what was going on in that gorgeous head of his right now.
If only you fucking knew.
"Seven!"
You tucked your bottom lip between your teeth as his he now stood almost chest to chest with you, his frame towering over yours as he looked down at you. You blinked a few times, your heart pounding in your chest as you looked up at him. "Hi."
"Hi." He replied, his tone quieter than usual. His hands began to shake slightly as he slowly began to move one of them toward the base of his balaclava.
"Six!"
You watched as he pulled his mask up, revealing a handsome jaw, lined with stubble. His lips were littered with scars, and you couldn't help but stare at them. From what little you could see of his face, you realized just how fucking pretty he was. As if there was any doubt.
"S-Simon." You breathed out, the intensity of his gaze sending a heat coursing throughout the entirety of your body. You couldn’t help yourself, you let your hand grip lightly at his arm, prompting him to chuckle softly.
"Five!"
Simon leaned toward you, his finger lightly touching your chin as he tilted your face up towards his. You found yourself leaning up toward him, your heels leaving the ground slightly.
His touch was so gentle against your chin despite the rough texture of his fingers, and it took everything in you not to moan at the tenderness of his touch.
"Four!"
“You want this?” He asked, his voice holding a nervousness you’d never been on the receiving end of before. “With me?”
All you could do was nod up at him, not trusting yourself to speak. You don't think you'd ever been this nervous in your life, your mouth running dry in anticipation.
"Three!"
This was it, wasn’t it? After all these years, after all those long nights, those deep talks, those longing glances… was this really about to happen?
"Two!"
Your heart was practically beating out of your chest as you felt his breath on your mouth, his lips being just a hair away from your own. You could hear him inhale sharply, and watched as his eyes darted toward your mouth.
"One!"
It was as if time stopped when his lips finally met yours. They slotted against yours so effortlessly, almost as if they were made to be kissed by you.
After years of loving Simon Riley, he was finally, finally kissing you. And it was everything you could ever have hoped it would be.
He pulled away a moment later, the smile on his lips now reaching his beautiful brown eyes. “Happy New Year, sergeant.”
A Happy New Year indeed.

The second Luke woke up he knew something was wrong.
He wouldn’t say he felt it, per se, but he knew something was off.
He had overslept and would probably be late for his segment on channel seven if he didn’t get up right now. Paige had kept him up for most of the night and seemed to have fled much earlier in the morning, leaving him to blow out the candles he so carelessly left lit during the night.
Groaning quietly, Luke got up and stumbled his way into the bathroom of his new apartment. His hand quickly finds the lightswitch but when he tries to turn it on, nothing happens. The bathroom remained dark as he reached for his toothbrush and began brushing his teeth, making a mental note to ask Jesus, the front desk guy, about the lack of lighting.
Using his freehand, he tried turning the TV on and found that it wasn’t working either. He scoffs around the toothbrush as he tosses the remote aside and barely avoids the puddle that had formed in the kitchen from the fridge being shut off. “What the fuck,” he muttered, grabbing the towel from off the stove handle and dropping it onto the puddle. “Seriously.”
After having to walk down twenty three flights of stairs, Luke was a bit more than annoyed as he tried to get his phone to work.
“Piece of junk,” he concluded as he opened the stairwell door and stepped out into the lobby. “Yo, Jesus, what’s up with the-” he promptly stopped talking when he realized that Jesus was not sitting at the desk. The chair held his usual clothing, that being a suit, but there was no sign of the man.
Actually, Luke noticed that there was no sign of anyone in the lobby as he grabbed the newspaper from off the top of the desk. It only got worse when he went outside and saw various cars had crashed into curbs and stopped in the middle of the street, and the hundreds of clothing that were scattered around had him immediately on alert.
When he saw that even his workplace was empty and came to the realization that Paige was among the sudden disappearances, he went back home and sprung into action. After nearly being taken over by darkness, Luke grabbed every flashlight he could find and his wedding band then left his apartment as his search began.
He spent three whole days trying to find any sign of life other than himself, and a car that actually worked. He took note of a truck that still had some battery life in it before he found a bar that was lit up as if it was still in business.
Inside it he found a kid no older than twelve and soon the duo became a trio, and then a fourth person joined. It was almost overwhelming how many people Luke ended up running into after being completely on his own for seventy two hours straight.
Luke also discovered that his patience was nowhere near as thick as it used to be as James, Rosemary and Paul were all getting on his last nerve. He had found Paul in a bus shelter barely conscious and he had to carry him all the way back to the bar, fucking up his ankle in the process.
They both almost didn’t make it before Rosemary finally opened the door and let them inside.
Now, as Paul was being nursed by her, Luke was left to tend to his sore ankle. “Am I in heaven?” The concussed man asked as he stared up at Rosemary.
“Better,” Luke answered as he wrapped duct tape around his ankle. “A bar.”
A few hours passed and Paul was not getting any better, further delaying Luke’s plan of getting the fuck out of this part of the city and making him feel even more frustrated. “So, you’re all looking for someone, huh?” He asked as he leaned against the pool table, his words slurred and drawn out.
James was the first to answer, “My momma,”
“My son,” Rosemary followed.
All three of them looked over at Luke and he knew he had to answer them without his usual level of sarcasm. He reached his hand in his pocket and pulled out his wedding band he regretfully took off a few months ago and held it in his palm. “I’m looking for my wife,” he said and they all looked at him as if they were surprised that a cocky, rude and selfish guy like himself could actually have a wife. So he added, “We’re separated, but it’s only recently. I fucked things up with her….and now I might never get the chance to make up for it.”
Rosemary took a step forward and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, a sad smile on her lips as he looked up at her. “You’ll see her again,” she promised and it brought the smallest bit of hope to him as he slipped the band onto his finger, where it should’ve stayed.
Then the pathetic excuse of a generator began sputtering from its place in the basement, and luckily Paul knew what they needed to do before they were left in complete darkness. “Lessen the load,” he stated as he watched the lights flicker. “The powerload on the genny, we gotta lessen it. Turn off any light we don’t need.”
And Luke did just that, turning off everything except for the lights in the main area of the bar. They continue to flicker on and off for a few more seconds before staying on, making everyone let out a sigh of relief as the shadows fade away. “Good call,” he mumbled to Paul, who just waved him off and moved to lay down on the pool table.
Then there were a few quiet knocks on the door, and everyone was immediately on high alert again.
“Don’t answer it,” Luke said, ignoring the glare Rosemary gave him. Really, there wasn’t anyone on the other side of the door that could be more dangerous than the shadows, but he already had three people he had to deal with before he was able to return back to his original plan, and he didn’t need another person added to the list. But James didn’t care, and Luke was quickly beginning to notice that the kid does whatever he wants as he ran around the table and towards the door. “James, don’t.”
“It could be my mom,” he replied and didn’t wait for another word to be spoken before he pulled the door open.
Luke rounded the table as well and was about to tug James away when he caught sight of who was on the other side of the door. His grip on the kids jacket loosened as his eyes landed on you, and he stumbled a few feet away.
How was it possible that he had spent nearly seventy two hours looking for you, just to have you stumble upon the very bar he was seeking temporary shelter in? You looked scared and nervous and anxious, and Luke wanted to take you into his arms immediately. He was always good at providing you with comfort before, and he knew he could still do it now, he was just in shock.
“I-I’m sorry,” and there was your sweet voice that Luke hadn’t heard in months. “I saw the lights, and…”
Then you met his eyes, and Luke felt his eyes burn a bit. “Y/n,” he barely managed to say before your single flashlight fell from your grasp and hit the ground, breaking on impact. The darkness began to take over the doorway and before Luke could stop himself, he was moving forward and pulling you inside the bar. You stumble along with him and he steadies you by placing his hands on your waist. “Baby.” The name slipped from his lips before he could stop himself, but he didn’t care, and you didn’t either.
As you braced yourself against his body, Luke caught sight of your left hand against his chest, and his eyes burned a bit more at the sight of your engagement ring and wedding band wrapped securely around your finger. “Luke,” you said his name in a breathless tone and he was powerless to stop himself from leaning in and pressing his lips to yours.
You kiss him back instantly and grab either side of his face as you press your body right up against his. “I thought I lost you,” he rasped in between kisses, his hands bunching up your shirt that looked an awful lot like one of the few he left with you back at the old house.
You shake your head and lean into his touch when he brings a hand up to wipe away the tears you began to shed. “I thought I lost you,”
Then you were kissing him again and pressing him against the edge of the pool table. Luke’s arms wrap tightly and protectively around you, and he pulls you flush up against his front, his mouth pressing desperate kisses to yours. “I’m so sorry,” he murmured, paying no attention to the other three people in the bar. “I’m so fucking sorry.”
You shake your head again and wrap your arms around his shoulders. “Luke,” you weakly say his name as you slide your hand up and tangle it in his messy hair.
He turns his head and kisses your wrist, his eyes narrowing on your left ring finger. “You still wear them,” he stated under his breath as he gently wrapped his hand around your wrist so he could examine the very ring and band he picked out for you.
You tearfully laugh, using your free hand to push his hair away from his forehead. “So do you,” you observe his left hand, and the band you had picked out for him. “I never took mine off.”
Luke gives you a look of agony before he is kissing your temple and caressing the back of your head as if you were the most fragile thing he’s ever held in his arms. He supposed you were at this point since you could literally disappear at any given moment. “I should’ve never taken it off,” he regretfully informed you of his inability to cope without having you around.
He resorted to distracting himself with his coworker in the new bed he didn’t share with you, and he wished he could take it all back. He wished he could go back to the time he left you behind and do it all again, but this time he’d do it right. He wouldn’t leave you, he would stay with you until you got sick of him and even then he wouldn’t leave.
If he knew just how short his life with you would end up being, he would’ve never let you go.
“What happened to your head?” You asked as you traced your thumb along the small cut on his forehead, but he just took your hand in his again and kissed along your neck.
“So….you’re his wife,” Rosemary stated what had to be obvious at this point, her hands placed on James’ shoulders as the three of them looked over at you and Luke. He kept you close to him by placing his hands on your lower back as he looked over at her. “I told you that you’d see her again.”
Yeah, a mere five minutes ago, he wanted to say but was too caught up in the feeling of having you in his arms again. “Sorry, this is probably quite the introduction,” you shyly say and Luke wondered how he went so long without hearing your sweet voice when it was all he wanted to hear right now. “I’m Y/n.”
“Rosemary,” she smiled at you, and everyone could tell how sad the atmosphere had gotten since Luke actually did end up finding you after all. Well, technically, you had found him, but the point still stands.
He had you back, but James didn’t have his mom, and Rosemary didn’t have her son.
You smiled your kind and genuine smile at her as you looked around the place, your body nuzzled against Luke’s. “So, what’s the plan?”
After a bit more smalltalk, everyone came to the agreement that they would wait until morning - even with how quick the daylight seemed to come and go nowadays - before moving on, and keep an eye on the generator in the meantime. Luke gently took your hand in his as he guided you down the stairs, a flashlight in his freehand. “C’mon, baby,” he mumbled and you followed behind him, closing the door afterwards.
You and him were on first watch, and Luke was desperate to be alone with you at this point. “What are you wearing?” You ask with a quiet laugh as he leans against a beam and pulls your body closer to his. Your hands play with the abundance of flashlights that were attached to the strap on his chest before moving to tug on his jacket. “This is how you’ve been surviving?”
Luke shook his head and tore off the strap, tossing it aside without a care for its well-being. “I haven’t been surviving, baby,” he said as he gripped the sides of your face. “I’ve been looking for you. I spent the last three days looking for you.”
You bite down on your lip as tears gather in your eyes again. “Luke,” you trail off as he pulls your body right up against his own.
You looked so pretty. Worn out and tired beyond belief, but still so achingly pretty. He wanted you, all of you, in all the ways he’s missed out on during your time apart, but he also knew you must be exhausted.
He is, too, but he also couldn’t stand the thought of wasting his time sleeping when he could be spending the rest of his possibly short life with you, awake and conscious. “You should get some sleep, baby, you’re probably tired-”
But you just shook your head and leaned up to kiss him. He returned your kiss as soon as your lips met his, and his hands moved back to tangle in your hair. You were quite literally on borrowed time, and you both knew this, so when you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his waist, Luke caught you instantly.
He gripped the backs of your thighs as he slowly lowered his body to the floor. His knees hit the tough concrete a bit hard, but he could handle the pain if it meant he got to have you like this again.
You straddled his lap as your hands tangled in his hair, tugging on it in the way you used to - the way that never failed to drive him crazy. His fingers play with the zipper of your jacket for a few seconds before he finally pulls the fabric from your body, followed quickly by your (his) long sleeved shirt.
Luke’s hands ran up your nearly bare back, and he was beginning to crave the feeling of your skin on his. You quickly make work of his jacket, and then his zip-up hoodie. “Jesus, Luke, you’re dressed for the winter,” you point out as your shaky fingers unbutton his dress shirt.
He laughed, a genuine laugh, for the first time in months as you pushed the shirt from his body and dropped it onto the growing pile of clothes on the floor. His lips press to yours again, his hands running up and down your thighs and making goosebumps rise against the fabric of your jeans. “I missed you,” he confessed as he kissed along your jaw.
You wrap your arms around his shoulders and tangle your fingers in his hair again as he lifts you up and lays you down on his shirt and hoodie. It wasn’t much, but it was more comfortable than the hard floor on its own. Really, comfort was the last thing on either of your minds. “Luke, please,” you begged as he sucked the skin of your neck, his fingers tugging at the zipper of your jeans.
His bare and toned chest presses against yours as he kisses you deeply, his tongue exploring your mouth before tangling with your own. “Missed you so fucking much,” he continued as he shoved your jeans down a bit and slipped his hand into the thin material of your panties.
Your body shudders a bit as his middle and index fingers swiped along your wet folds, and you moan quietly against his mouth. “Luke,” you whine, bucking up against his hand. “It’s been so long.”
Luke hummed, kissing you once more before he pulled away. “I know,” he rasped, slowly fucking his fingers into you. “I know, baby, and it’s all my fucking fault. I should’ve been there for you, for us. I promise, I’m never leaving your side, even if we don’t have a lot of time left together.”
Your eyes burned a bit as you lifted your hips in time with his hand. “I want you, Luke,” you gasp. “For months - I’ve wanted you for months.”
Luke blinked away a few tears of his own. “I’m not leaving you, Y/n,” he promised. “Never again. I love you, baby, I always will. No matter what happens.”
You moan as his thumb brushes against your clit, and you knew he was the only one who could make you feel like this; so good, loved and cherished all at once. “I love you,” you whisper back, tugging his mouth back to yours by grabbing onto his hair. “Please, Luke, I want you. I need you, I need to feel you.”
Keeping his mouth connected to yours, Luke pushes your jeans down the rest of the way, leaving you to kick them off along with your boots, as he unzips his own. “I need you, too,” he said under his breath, reaching down to run his tip up your seam. You both moan at the same time when he enters you, filling you up in one movement and fitting perfectly.
“Oh, God,” you whimper as his hips hit yours. “Fuck, Luke.”
“I love you,” he says, pressing his forehead against yours as your legs wrap around his waist. “I love you, I love you so fucking much.” He couldn’t stop telling you that he loved you if he tried. He went so long without you, wasted so much time trying to get Paige to make him feel the way only you could.
You kissed him deeply as he began to thrust into you, slow and hard, the way he knew you liked. “I love you,” you say back, laughing quietly at the way his nose brushed yours every time he slipped back inside you.
You wrapped your legs tighter around his waist and he leaned down to kiss along the tops of your breasts. If he had his way, your bra would be discarded along with the other clothing, but to save the twelve year olds remaining innocence if he were to come down here and see you like this, he would have to deal with you keeping it on.
“As soon as I realized what was happening, I started looking for you. I had to see you again, had to tell you that I was sorry and that I regretted not coming back to you,” he rambled, shutting his eyes tightly when he felt your walls squeeze him. “I couldn’t give up without knowing you were safe, without seeing you again.”
You moan quietly as you grip his shoulders. “Luke…”
“You’re everything to me, baby,” he swore, burying face against the side of your neck. “Everything.”
“Luke,” you whine as you kiss along his jaw before brushing your lips against the shell of his ear. “Please, fuck me. Make me forget. We can forget about everything, even if just for a while.”
His hips begin to hit yours harder after that, and you press his face close to your own by caressing the back of his head. You glance up at the ceiling lights and see them flicker a bit, almost taunting you with the fact that they could shut off completely at any given moment.
Even the shadows around you were taunting as Luke pressed your body against the cold floor, but you didn’t care.
In this moment you weren’t scared.
You had managed to do the impossible; you had found your husband in a city that had been wiped out of any sign of life. You found each other, and you knew that if you were to be taken by the shadows, you wouldn’t be alone anymore. Luke would be with you. He is with you. And he wasn’t going anywhere this time.
“You feel so good, baby,” he brought you back to him with the single praise, and your face flushed a bit as you cling onto him. “So good.”
“Luke,” you moaned, tugging on his hair as you looked over at the shadows. “Harder. Please.”
Luke placed one hand on your hip and braced himself above you with the other one, his forearm pressing against the ground beside your head. “Look at me,” he murmured when he noticed that your head was turned and your eyes were fixated on the dark corner of the basement. When you glanced up at him, Luke pressed his forehead to yours. “Keep looking at me, baby. Not at them, at me. It’s you and me, Y/n. It’s us.”
He successfully got your full attention back as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and pressed open mouthed kisses to the skin of his shoulder. “Make me come, Luke,” you requested breathlessly, your brows scrunching together when he reached that sweet spot deep within you. “Fuck.”
Luke groaned deeply, rocking his hips into yours quicker. “Like this?” He asked, moving his body so his pelvis brushed against your clit with every thrust.
You squeeze your eyes shut as you nod, clinging onto him with the energy you had left. “Yes,” you whispered.
He pulled back to get a good look at your face, his fucked out expression matching yours. “Get loud for me,” he softly demanded as he listened to your quiet moans.
“I can’t,” you mumbled, gently digging your nails into his shoulders. “The others-”
“Can’t hear us,” he cut you off, pressing kiss after kiss to the side of your head. He could still faintly smell your sweet, wildflower conditioner you favorited when you and he were together, and the scent had his head feeling fuzzy. “They can’t hear us, sweet girl. That fucking generator drowns out any noise. They have no idea what we’re doing right now, so be loud for me, baby. Scream for me.”
You bite down harshly on your lip, but then moan loudly once he begins rubbing quick circles onto your clit. “Oh, my God,” you gasp, much louder than before.
Luke smirked down at you, his tired features making your heart swell. “There’s my girl,” he mumbled, kissing you afterwards. “My good girl.”
His words had your eyes rolling back and your body arching as you moaned his name loudly.
As he watched your face scrunch up in pleasure, Luke felt the possessiveness he felt over you since the day he met you come back to him in full swing. “Tell me you’re mine,” he demanded, well aware that there weren’t many options left for guys that could steal you from him. Still, he hadn’t seen you in months, and he wanted to know that he is still it for you. That he always will be. “Tell me you’re still mine.”
You grin up at him, softly running your fingers through his hair that had become even more messy since you and he reunited. “I’m yours, Luke,” you say. “I always was.”
He grunted as you clenched tightly around him. “You’re close,” he commented, knowing your body and its signs like the back of his hand. You were his wife of four years, after all. You technically still are as neither of you could go through with the divorce process.
“I’m close,” you confirmed what he already knew. “I’m gonna come.”
You squeezed him impossibly tighter and Luke circled your clit faster, desperate to get you there before he got off himself. “Come, baby,” he nearly begged, hiking your leg up higher around his waist.
With a final cry of his name, you were coming around him and sucking him in deeper with each thrust. “Fuck, fuck,”
Luke felt your warmth surround him and knew he wouldn’t last much longer. Not with the way you were squeezing him or the way you were writhing under him. “Good girl,” he praised, kissing you quickly when he felt his own high take over his body.
Your heel presses against his back, ensuring that a single drop of his release didn’t go to waste. He pulls away from your mouth and places small kisses to the slightly sweaty skin of your neck and shoulder, eliciting more quiet, broken moans from your swollen lips.
When your tired gaze met his, Luke gave you a small, barely-there grin. “I love you,”
You smooth out his hair as you brush your lips against his. “I love you,” you say back then ask, “What is going to happen next?”
The fear and harsh reality came spiraling back, and Luke wrapped you up in his arms. “I don’t know,” he answered honestly, holding you close to his chest. “But I’m not leaving your side, okay? I mean it, it’s you and me.”
What the world will be like after this, or how long you have with him are questions no one could answer, simply because there was no telling what becomes of you after being consumed by the darkness. Your soul gets taken, leaving behind only the clothes on your back, and it’s scary.
But you weren’t alone anymore, and neither was he. Luke was okay now that he had you back where you always belonged, and he would be fine.
You smile up at him, glancing over at the still flickering lights as you nuzzle against his side. “Yeah,” you agree in a whisper. “You and me.”

The New Year's Party
hey god, it’s me again 🧎‍♀️
Tumblr media
Summary: The Peaky Blinders cast celebrates New Year's Eve together. Cillian can‘t hide his desire for (Y/N) anymore…
Warnings: smut, drinking, smoking
Pairing: Cillian Murphy x Reader
A/N: Some steamy smut for y'all! Please comment, reblog and engage! I’d love to hear your feedback 💕
"Thank you, please keep the change ... And a happy new year!" you smile politely as the cab stops at Paul Anderson's townhouse in London's South Kensington. You jump out of the car and a fresh breeze hits your bare legs, making you wish you had put on some tights. You're wearing a short, shimmering black dress with long, sheer sleeves paired with a silver choker and some simple black heels.
Heading towards the door, your gaze wanders around the bold neighborhood and its beautiful Victorian architecture. It's definitely a posher part of town, but not too posh to feel unwelcome. You ring the doorbell and your introverted self prays someone you know will answer. "Oh damn, look who it is!" Paul chants, embracing you in a tight, long-overdue hug. There's music and laughter pouring out of the house. "You're breaking my ribcage," you gasp dramatically and he immediately lets go.
"Sorry," he laughs, "you know how excited I get to see my favorite people again. Let me take your coat."
Paul puts away your coat and then you follow him into his large, open kitchen where many familiar faces are awaiting you.
"(Y/N), you look stunning!" Sophie exclaims, handing you a glass of bubbling champagne. Her warm voice makes you smile with joy. "Thank you, love. You look beautiful yourself." You exchange a few words with the other members of the Peaky Blinders cast, but your real focus is on something else. Your eyes wander around the open kitchen and living room, scanning the place for one person in particular. But to your disappointment, the person you've been most excited about is nowhere in sight.
What feels like hours of chatting about life, the last season, and resolutions for the next year pass before you can't control your nosiness anymore. "Where's Cillian?" you ask, taking a casual sip from your second glass of champagne. Tom shrugs his shoulders, "I couldn't reach him ... as usual. Guess he's celebrating with the family."
"Oh okay," is the only answer you manage to give. You take another sip of your drink, trying not to come off too saddened by Tom's suggestion.
Just as you plan to get another drink, a large hand is placed on your shoulder. "I guess someone's looking for me, eh?" a deep, well-known voice interrupts your little conversation. You smile nervously, trying to hide your embarrassment about the fact that you were asking for him. "Hey, Cillian. We were just talking about you," you stutter. He pulls you in for a warm hug, letting you inhale his calming scent you love so much.
Cillian is the most irritating man you've ever laid your eyes on. Ever since the incident at Helen's birthday party six months ago, his behavior's been confusing the hell out of you…
....
The house is even more crowded now. To your surprise, there must be around 80 people here. The loud music and alcohol are slowly getting to you, causing you to feel tired and slightly dizzy. You do enjoy a good party, but your social battery tends to die quickly if there’s too much going on. At around 11 pm, you decide you need some fresh air. Squeezing through the dancing crowd, you make your way upstairs to the third floor. Paul has a little reading room with a balcony you know about. Thankfully, there’s not much going on up there. But as soon as you open the door to the room, you notice a male figure sitting in the corner’s reading chair.
“Thank god, it’s only you,” Cillian notes in relief.
“Can I come in?” you ask, hoping the answer will be yes. “I just wanted to smoke a cigarette on the balcony.”
“Sure,” he answers with a smile on his beautiful face.
You walk past Cillian, avoiding eye contact, and lighten a cigarette on the balcony. You take a deep drag, the smoke immediately calming your nerves.
Footsteps are approaching you. "Are you hiding or why aren't you smoking on the patio with the others?"
"I think my social battery is dead. And it's not even midnight," you laugh at yourself, offering him a cigarette. "What about you? Didn't you arrive like half an hour ago?"
He grabs a cigarette and furrows his brows. "My social battery is basically nonexistent today. Also, I'm too invested in this poetry collection," he notes, holding up the little book he's been carrying around.
"A poetry collection?" you ask, a big smile on your face. "I didn't know you were into that."
"Why? You think it's lame?" He raises an eyebrow at you.
"No, I read them myself."
He laughs, taking a drag from his cigarette. "Really?", he questions, now staring right into your eyes. "I thought you were more into other literature."
"Like what?" you ask, almost coming off as annoyed. You hate it when people underestimate you.
"Like 50 Shades of Grey or so."
You scoff, now visibly offended by his answer. The cold outside becomes unbearable, and you step inside, Cillian following you. He sits back in the reading chair, but you just stand there, giving him a death stare. He notices your facial expression and giggles in amusement. "I was joking. Don't you remember you're the one who got me into poetry?" he asks, crossing his legs. "At Helen's birthday party, when we got so drunk and almost ended up fucking on her bed?"
You immediately stiffen at his rhetorical question, not daring to look at him. Didn't you agree to never mention that incident again? After all, it was a huge mistake. You didn't have sex, but you still made out with a married, much older man.
"How are the kids and wife doing?" you snap provocatively. A feeling of anger overcomes you. For the past months, Cillian's been acting hot and cold. He'd cut you off whenever you tried to talk about what had happened at Helen's, warning you about the possible consequences. And now he's just casually mentioning it? But you aren't allowed to talk about it?
He finishes his drink and rubs his chin in distress.
"Well ... Promise me you won't tell anyone, (Y/N)," he insists, his cold blue eyes meeting yours.
Oh, you think to yourself. You weren't expecting a severe possible answer. "I promise."
"We're currently separated and I think I want to go on with a divorce."
You title your head and give him a look of sympathy. "I'm so sorry, Cillian. How are you holding up?"
“I know it sounds harsh, but I feel fucking relieved, (Y/N). The divorce is way overdue. I mean, the last time we had a real date and sex was like a year ago.”
His blunt answer takes you by surprise. You feel flattered and excited that he would tell you something so personal but at the same time, you wonder why he'd confess it to you.
He notices the confusion on your face. "Don't get me wrong, (Y/N)," he shifts in his chair, "sex isn't everything in a marriage. I just wanted to give you an idea of our current emotional and intimate state," he chuckles, and you smile awkwardly.
"Guess I've gotten closer to having sex with you than your wife then," you mumble, referring to the incident and all the sex scenes you filmed together. What the hell did I just say? Regret and embarrassment wash over you.
"Sorry, I think I'm going back downstairs."
You turn around on your heels and head towards the door, but the second you do, Cillian grabs you by the wrist, spinning you around to face him. "I know you think about me at night," he whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. His touch is gentle and you notice your breathing intensifying. "You get nervous around me. It's kinda cute."
The way he uses his words and voice makes your blood freeze immediately. It's not like you're inexperienced, but the situation feels so surreal, you can't differentiate between disbelief and excitement. Cillian leads you back to the armchair he'd been sitting on before. He sits down and pulls you onto his lap. At this point, your brain is complete mush, too perplexed to realize what's happening. What you do know is that all those little scenarios you make up before going to bed, seem to become true.
He puts his arm around your waist, allowing him to pull you closer to him. With his other hand, Cillian traces down your bare thigh, leaving goosebumps behind. A small moan escapes your lips and he's now cupping your cheek before finally smashing his lips onto yours, letting your body experience pure ecstasy. Naturally, you grind against his crotch, and his mouth travels to your neck, leaving warm but visible marks behind.
"Cillian," you softly say as reality hits you. "We can't do this, it's inappropriate and against our contract." He stops for a second and gives you a confused look. "It's unprofessional," you add. No matter how hard you try to compel yourself, your body decides to take over you. You giggle, feeling ridiculed by your own words.
"Well, I'm afraid I can no longer remain professional," Cillian smirks, grabbing your ass and pulling you in for another kiss.
Your thoughts and feelings are interrupted when you hear Paul's voice calling, "Everyone downstairs! The 10-minute countdown is on!"
You shriek and jump onto your feet. "We should go," you insist. "I don't wanna risk getting caught."
Cillian takes a deep breath, rubbing his chin in frustration. He gets up and towers over you. "Take off your panties," he demands, his voice sounding more dominant than before.
"Wh-at?" you stutter, furrowing your brows in confusion. "Cil, we really..."
"I'm not going to repeat myself," he cuts you off. "Take. them. off."
You look around the room, making sure the door's still locked. Facing Cillian again, you do as he's told you, and take off the black lace panties you're wearing under your dress. He gives you a satisfied smirk which makes you blush. Not in a million years would you've thought someone could hold that much power over you. You don't know what it is, but the way Cillian treats you makes you want to relinquish yourself to him completely.
You hand over the panties and watch as he puts them in his pockets. "I didn't expect you to be this wet for me," he chuckles, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. His icy blue eyes are filled with lust as he finally whispers, "I'm going to ruin you tonight."
With that, Cillian leaves the room, not looking back at you once.
---
A few minutes pass, but you're still too stunned to comprehend the situation Cillian just put you in. Your breathing is still heavy and the heat between your legs doesn't seem to calm down either. The fact that you aren't wearing panties anymore, doesn't make the situation easier. What the hell was he doing?
Snapping back into reality, you rush back downstairs and join the rest of the party. You grab another glass of champagne and down it quickly, hoping it will clear your head.
"Wow, slow down, (Y/N)," Tom says, giving you a worried look. "Everything alright?"
"Uh yeah, I'm fine. It's just ... so warm in here, isn't it?" you explain, fanning yourself with your hands.
"Not really, but take this instead," he states, handing you his glass of water which you immediately drink. "Common, love, let's get this stupid countdown behind us."
Tom puts his hand on your lower back and leads you to where the rest of the PB cast is waiting for Paul's toast. You scan the room for Cillian but can't see him anywhere.
"Alright, party people!" Paul shouts, his drunken self stumbling to the living room's center. "It's time to get this new year started, eh?"
"Yeah, give us a Toast, Paul!" Sophie teases, the room bursting into laughter. Indeed, Paul goes on to give the best toast you've ever heard so far. When the clock finally strikes midnight, you fall into each other's arms, wishing everyone a happy new year. Then, your eyes catch Cillian's figure at the bottom of the stairs. The moment he realizes you're staring right back at him, he gives you a nod and disappears upstairs. Making sure no one is watching you, you sneak away from the celebrating crowd and follow him upstairs.
A few people are standing in the hallway on the second floor, chatting, laughing, and smoking. You walk past a few doors and suddenly, you're pulled into the bathroom. Cillian slams the door behind you, pushing you against it.
"Cill-," you try to protest, but he cuts you off, placing his index finger on your mouth.
"Shhhh," he whispers, pressing his forehead against yours. "Better be quiet or they'll hear you."
His voice is low and deep, causing your heart to flutter down your chest and your brain to turn into complete mush again. Fuck, I'm pathetic; how does he do that?
Cillian grabs your chin softly, your lips now only a few inches away from each other. "I'm here to claim my new year's kiss," he smiles before crushing his lips onto yours passionately. Your whole body gives in, allowing his tongue entrance into your mouth. The kiss intensifies as he tries to pull you even closer and your hands get lost in his hair. No matter how close your bodies already are, it's not enough.
In one quick moment, he lifts your dress up and over your head, exposing your naked body to him. "Fuck, you're beautiful," he moans, cupping your breasts and sucking on your hard nipples gently. His lust-driven blue eyes meet yours and he gives you a smirk. A sudden wave of shyness washes over you, turning your cheeks bright pink. Cillian chuckles, clearly enjoying your innocence.
"I want to see those pretty lips wrapped around my cock. Get on your knees," he orders and without thinking about it twice, you do as you're told. He takes off his shirt while you unbutton his jeans, pulling them and his boxers down to expose his already hard cock. You gasp for a second before you take his length into your hand, slowly pumping up and down to prepare him for the warmth of your mouth. You place your lips on his tip and open your mouth, taking more and more of his length as you bop your head back and forth.
"That's good, baby," Cillian moans. "Keep doing that. Relax your throat." As you keep going, the wetness between your legs becomes almost unbearable from all the praise and reassurance he's giving you.
"Get up," he insists, pulling you to your feet. Your hand wanders to Cillian's neck, and your lips meet once again, making you wish you could do this forever.
"Cillian," you whine, your legs feeling weak.
"Yeah?" he smiles, and you know exactly what he's waiting for. He spins you around so that he's facing your back. He then pushes you against the sink before giving you a sharp slap on the ass. Pleasure takes over your body as you try to form a sentence to speak.
"What do you want, love?" he asks, pure amusement in his tone.
"Please fuck me!" you shriek as his palm meets your ass again. How does the pain feel good and terrible at the same time?
"Will you be a good girl for me then, eh?" he asks, his mouth on your ear.
At this point, you're a shaking mess. Never in your life have you experienced that amount of excitement and pleasure in your body. Cillian drives you crazy, and he knows it.
"I'll fucking ruin you as I promised," he whispers. He grabs both your ass cheeks and spreads them, exposing your swollen and wet cunt. You swear you start seeing stars as his warm tongue touches your wet folds and as he collects all the juices from you. Your hands hold on to the sink, helping you to not lose balance.
"Cillian, I'm gonna cum," a desperate cry escapes your lips.
"Not yet, baby," he answers, pulling away. "I want my cock inside you. You're so ready for me," Cillian moans, placing his tip at your entrance.
"I know you can take it, (Y/N)," he grunts as he slowly pushes himself inside you. You roll your eyes in pleasure as his cock stretches you out.
"Oh fuck," you moan. Much to your pleasurable discomfort, he doesn't allow you to adjust to his size; instead, he takes up the pace, ensuring you'll be sore in the morning.
"You're just as tight as I'd imagined,"
Cillian's hand wanders around your throat, softly squeezing it as he keeps thrusting into you.
"Please," you beg for him to make you cum.
The begging seems to excite him even more and he takes up speed, slowly sending you over the edge. "Cum for me, babe," he insists.
Both your moans synchronize as you're both about to reach your climax. Cillian grabs your ass even harder, now pushing his cock deeper into you than before.
"Fu-ck," you groan in unison as your climax washes over you. Your legs are shaking uncontrollably when Cillian pulls out, his cum leaking out of you. Exhausting breathing echoes through the room, and it takes you two a minute to collect yourself.
Cillian gives you a warm smile and grabs a towel to clean you up. Then, he places his forehead on yours again, not saying anything. A few seconds of heavy breathing pass before he takes your hand and places it on his chest.
"You drive me crazy, (Y/N). I don't want to spend another day without you by my side."

[In February, 2023], a small warehouse in the English city of Nottingham received the crucial final components for a project that leverages the power of used EV batteries to create a new kind of circular economy.
Inside, city authorities have installed 40 two-way electric vehicle chargers that are connected to solar panels and a pioneering battery energy storage system, which will together power a number of on-site facilities and a fleet of 200 municipal vehicles while simultaneously helping to decarbonize the UK’s electrical grid.
Each day Nottingham will send a combination of solar-generated energy — and whatever is left in the vehicles after the day’s use — from its storage devices into the national grid.  The so-called “vehicle to grid” chargers deliver this energy just when it’s needed most, during peak evening demand, when people are home cooking, using hot water or watching TV. Later, the same chargers pull energy from the grid to recharge the vehicles in the wee hours of the night, when folks are sleeping and electricity is cheaper and plentiful.
“We are trying to create a virtual power station,” says Steve Cornes, Nottingham City Council’s Technical Lead. “The solar power and battery storage will help us operate independently and outside of peak times, making our system more resilient and reducing stress on the national grid. We could even make a profit.” ...
After around a decade, an EV battery no longer provides sufficient performance for car journeys. However, they still can retain up to 80 percent of their original capacity, and with this great remaining power comes great reusability.
“As the batteries degrade, they lose their usefulness for vehicles,” says Matthew Lumsden, chairman of Connected Energy. “But batteries can be used for so many other things, and to not do so results in waste and more mining of natural resources.”
The E-STOR hubs come in the form of 20-foot modular containers, each one packed with 24 repurposed EV batteries from Renault cars. Each hub can provide up to 300kW of power, enough to provide energy to dozens of homes. One study by Lancaster University, commissioned by Connected Energy, calculated that a second life battery system saved 450 tons of CO2 per MWh over its lifetime...
Battery repurposing and recycling is set to play a massive role over the coming years as the automobile industry attempts to decarbonize and the world more broadly attempts to fight waste. The production of EVs, which use lithium-ion batteries, is accelerating. Tesla, for example, is aiming to sell 20 million EVs per year by 2030 — more than 13 times the current level. In turn, 12 million tons of EV batteries could become available for reuse by 2030, according to one estimate.
“Over the next decade we are going to see this gigantic wave,” says Jessica Dunn, a senior analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists. “Companies are recognizing this is a necessary industry. They need to ramp up infrastructure for recycling and reuse.”

First off, degrowthers emphatically do not advocate recession or austerity. These flow from the dynamics of capital accumulation that they critique, abhor and seek to overcome. Drawing on socialist, anarchist, decolonial and feminist traditions, their project is societal transformation with radical redistribution, domestically and internationally, to raise living standards for the masses. Secondly, the distinction between degrowth and the GND cannot be mapped to simple binaries, whether “reduce consumption vs. invest in production,” “reject vs. promote new tech” or “individual sacrifice vs. collective action.” Many opponents of degrowth maintain that electricity should be a human right and available to all the world’s population; most degrowthers would agree. They advocate gargantuan investments in energy-efficiency technologies and renewables. Degrowther Jason Hickel, for example, calls for public investment to be targeted to churning out solar panels, heat pumps and batteries “at a historically unprecedented rate, reminiscent of the industrial retooling that enabled the allies to win the second world war.” A vital actor in pushing for such a program will be organized labor, and this too is recognized by degrowthers. They see powerful unions as essential allies. Workers, after all, are not wedded to endless GDP growth. Rather, their needs are human: security of life and livelihood, opportunities to flourish, respect, community, hope and, above all, a habitable planet. In short, there is no necessary opposition between degrowth and a GND. Degrowthers do, however, raise caveats surrounding the material implications of expansionary programs — particularly if the whole world shares in them, as it should. While supporting the renewables rollout, they scrutinize its material requirements — in land, for example, or in the coal-powered electricity used to produce much of the clean energy infrastructure. And where McKibben calls for an “all-out push” for EVs, degrowthers warn of the consequences if U.S. car ownership were replicated worldwide: the tonnage of steel, plastic, lithium etc. on the world’s roads would leap by 500 percent, schlepped around in the form of 7 billion automobiles. What could replace the bulk of cars in a degrowth (or “degrowth-GND”) future? Bicycles and public transport: buses, coaches, rail. These, for degrowthers and many Green New Dealers, ought to be free of charge. On high-speed rail, Green New Dealers such as Huber and Bernie Sanders are vocal supporters, and many degrowthers are too — but again, with caveats. To construct new track, colossal quantities of concrete are poured, each ton releasing an equivalent tonnage of carbon dioxide (CO2). As a source of carbon emissions, only coal, oil and gas are worse, and while low-carbon concrete is beginning to come on stream, it’s expensive and will take years to scale up. England’s “HS2” project is widely, and now even officially, seen as “unachievable,” a costly flop. China, by contrast, proves that high-speed rail rollout can be quick and successful in its own terms. Yet it arrived together with an equally rapid expansion of road transport and aviation that eclipsed any environmental benefits of rail.

This story originally appeared on Grist and is part of the Climate Desk collaboration.
On a 20-acre parcel outside the tiny Southern California town of New Cuyama, a 1.5-megawatt solar farm uses the sun’s rays to slowly charge nearly 600 batteries in nearby cabinets. At night, when energy demand rises, that electricity is sent to the grid to power homes with clean energy.
To make renewable energy from intermittent sources like solar and wind available when it is most needed, it’s becoming more common to use batteries to store the power as it’s generated and transmit it later. But one thing about the Cuyama facility, which began operations this month, is less common: The batteries sending energy to the grid once powered electric vehicles.
The SEPV Cuyama facility, located about two hours northeast of Santa Barbara, is the second hybrid storage facility opened by B2U Storage Solutions. Its first facility, just outside Los Angeles, uses 1,300 retired batteries from Honda Clarity and Nissan Leaf EVs to store 28 megawatt-hours of power, enough to power about 9,500 homes.
The facilities are meant to prove the feasibility of giving EV batteries a second life as stationary storage before they are recycled. Doing so could increase the sustainability of the technology’s supply chain and reduce the need to mine critical minerals, while providing a cheaper way of building out grid-scale storage.
“This is what’s needed at massive scale,” said Freeman Hall, CEO of the Los Angeles-based large-scale storage system company.
Electric vehicle batteries are typically replaced when they reach 70 to 80 percent of their capacity, largely because the range they provide at that point begins to dwindle. Almost all of the critical materials inside them, including lithium, nickel, and cobalt, are reusable. A growing domestic recycling industry, supported by billions of dollars in loans from the Energy Department and incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act, is being built to prepare for what will one day be tens of millions of retired EV battery packs.
Before they are disassembled, however, studies show that around three-quarters of decommissioned packs are suitable for a second life as stationary storage. (Some packs may not have enough life left in them, are too damaged from a collision, or are otherwise faulty.)
“We were seeing the first generation of EVs end their time on the road, and 70 percent or more of those batteries have very strong residual value,” said Hall. “That should be utilized before all those batteries are recycled, and we’re just deferring recycling by three, four, or five years.”
Extending the useful life of EV batteries mitigates the impact of manufacturing them, said Maria Chavez, energy analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists.
“The whole point of trying to deploy electric vehicles is to reduce emissions and reduce the negative impacts of things like manufacturing and extractive processes on our environment and our communities,” Chavez told Grist. “By extending the life of a battery, we reduce the need for further exploitation of our natural resources, we reduce the demand for raw materials, and we generally encourage a more sustainable process.”
Just as batteries have become crucial to reducing emissions from transportation, they’re also needed to fully realize the benefits of clean energy. Without stationary storage, wind and solar power can only feed the grid when the wind is blowing or the sun is shining.
“Being able to store it and use it when it’s most needed is a really important way to meet our energy needs,” Chavez said.
The use of utility-scale battery storage is expected to skyrocket, from 1.5 gigawatts of capacity in 2020 to 30 gigawatts by 2025. EV packs could provide a stockpile for that buildout. Hall said there are already at least 3 gigawatt-hours of decommissioned EV packs sitting around in the United States that could be deployed, and that the volume of them being removed from cars is doubling every two years.
“We’re going from a trickle when we started four years ago to a flood of batteries that are coming,” he said.
B2U says its technology allows batteries to be repurposed in a nearly “plug-and-play fashion.” They do not need to be disassembled, and units from multiple manufacturers—B2U has tested batteries from Honda, Nissan, Tesla, GM, and Ford—can be used in one system.
The packs are stored in large cabinets and managed with proprietary software, which monitors their safety and discharges and charges each battery based on its capacity. The batteries charge during the day from both the solar panels and the grid. Then B2U sells that power to utilities at night, when demand and prices are much higher.
Hall said using second-life batteries earns the same financial return as new grid-scale batteries at half the initial cost, and that for now, repurposing the packs is more lucrative for automakers than sending them straight to recyclers. Until the recycling industry grows, it’s still quite expensive to recycle them. By selling or leasing retired packs to a grid storage company, said Hall, manufacturers can squeeze more value out of them.
That could even help drive down the cost of electric vehicles, he added. “The actual cost of leasing a battery on wheels should go down if the full value of the battery is enhanced and reused,” he said. “Everybody wins when we do reuse in a smart fashion.”
B2U expects to add storage to a third solar facility near Palmdale next year. The facilities are meant to prove that the idea works, after which B2U plans to sell its hardware and software to other storage-project developers.
At the moment, though, planned deployment of the technology is limited. B2U predicts only about 6 percent of decommissioned EV batteries in the US will be used for grid-scale storage by 2027.
“People are skeptical, and they should be, because it’s hard to do reuse of batteries,” said Hall. “But we’ve got a robust data set that does prove reliability, performance, and profitability. We’re at a point where we really can scale this.”

i wanted to share a few tips, tricks, and habits I've learned from Genshin that might make your life a little easier playing. they'll be most handy to early game players, but some of you might have gotten mid-late (per version 3.3) without learning all of these. I hope they help someone. there are a LOT so I grouped them into categories to make it a little easier to track.
Party Building:
some 4* are honest to god more valuable to your team than 5*. Even your starters. Kaeya works both as support and reaction factory if you don't want him as a dps, Amber is helpful for hunting and early game puzzles, and Lisa is actually amazing as a DPS on- or off-screen. you have every right to keep your Primogems to yourself until you feel like using them and to hell with what anyone on the servers says.
Noelle is, in fact, designed to be a DPS and not a shield support unit. her best artefacts aren't unlocked until Inazuma, but loading her up with Berserkers and Gladiators will help her until you can reach her full potential.
in the early game, build one or two DPS characters and make use of the free 5* gifts that are Barbara and Xiangling. building Kaeya and Xiangling with high energy recharge and putting them with Barbara means you will have a fairly consistent reaction factory going on around you, providing Freeze, Melt and Vaporize depending on which part makes first contact.
battery is an unofficial character role that you ought to try take advantage of. these characters generate extra energy particles that get your characters' bursts ready faster. using The Exile series on these characters is an easy early-game way to take advantage of this effect. some characters are known as 'flat batteries', so all off-screen characters gain the same amount of energy, while others are 'elemental batteries' where shared elements get a higher bonus and other elements have diminished returns. Raiden Shogun is the queen of flat batteries, but other good characters that you'll likely already have are Bennett, Sucrose, Diona, and even Kaeya if you're okay with the elemental deficit. here's an in depth breakdown of how energy works and a list of good batteries as of sept 2022, which was the most recent list I could find.
Things You Really Must Acquire:
head up to the end of Stormbearer Point and find the nun there. exhaust your dialogue trees with her and receive the Barbatos Ratatouille recipe. normal yield is a 20% stamina reduction for sprinting and gliding for 900 seconds. that's fifteen minutes of reduced stamina consumption. delicious yield gives a 25% reduction. if you happen to have Venti and he cooks it, he may make A Buoyant Breeze - the results are the same stamina reduction for thirty minutes. at this point it's purely a flex that you can do it, you will never need that much time!
solve the puzzle at Quinyun Peak and access the Luxurious Chest on the floating island. collect the recipe for Adeptus' Temptation. take the time to unlock auto cooking and use Xiangling to make it. normal yield is +316 ATK and +10% Crit Rate for 5min to all characters, delicious yield is +372 ATK and +12% Crit Rate for 5min. there is no character specialty version as of writing in 3.3.
after reaching adventure level 40, buy the recipe for Pile 'em Up from Sara at the Good Hunter. Xiangling is a good cook for it, but if you get a Diluc, immediately make the switch. normal boosts crit rate by 15% for 5min, delicious boosts it by 20%. Diluc's Once Upon a Time in Mondstadt will boost crit rate and crit damage by 20% for 5min. Cured Pork Dry Hotpot and Baklava both have the same crit rate increase, but do not have a character specialty as of writing in 3.3, so Pile 'em Up is still standing superior.
make sure to talk to Sister Victoria in the Favonius Church and exhaust your dialogue trees with her, because she will give you an artefact that you won't be able to try and farm until you're halfway through Liyue.
talk to everyone, honestly. there are good things to find everywhere. probably a number of which i haven't found because i gotta go fast.
collect all of the shinies. yes, the weapons and artefacts are usually grey or green. if i hadn't ignored them in the early game, i wouldn't be short on resources to level up my actually good artefacts, and now i can't find them all again and and have a very limited supply. don't be me wasting Mora on the artefact merchants.
Wishing:
i had to google the mechanics of pity, so if you also don't completely understand what the hell soft pity means, let me explain. every 90th wish without having a 5* result is guaranteed to be 5*. 'soft pity' refers to when you start getting an increased chance of a 5* at around 70 wishes. this is why the wish history is so valuable to you if you have limited primogems. if you have already received a standard 5* from the special character banner, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banner character. effectively, from the last time you received a banner 5* character, every 180th wish is guaranteed to be the banner 5* unless you receive it sooner.
most of you shouldn't bother on the weapon banner if you don't plan to be a whale, because the pity system there only guarantees your course charted banner weapon after 270 wishes. you are more likely to end up with the other banner weapon than the one you actually selected at your 90th or 180th wish. the only mercy here is that reaching the banner weapon you didn't select doesn't reset you to 0 out of 270.
i haven't seen anyone actually compile or compare the costs of reaching full potential on a weapon or character, so i'm going to do that now. you need 5 of the same weapon to reach full rank up and unlock 100% of the weapon's stat boosting ability, and at 160 primogems a wish, we are talking about a potential of 216,000 primogems to guarantee that you reach full potential. since there is no work around with rank 5 being the most useful a weapon can be, as rank only increases the numeric value of their secondary effect, this shows just how expensive the weapon banner actually is if you want full use of a BIS. meanwhile, if you say C6 is the highest value a character can have, you need 6 copies. at your worst possible luck, 6 runs of 180 at 160 a pop makes 172,800 primogems if you really feel the need to hit C6.
regarding Constellations and value, most characters actually do not C6 to be most useful on your team. Constellations provide additional effects to abilities or boost the power of certain secondary effects in abilities, but rarely does anything past C4 cause a truly worthwhile improvement to the core abilities of a character.
and now jumping off of how useful Constellations are, some characters should never be C6'd. Bennett is the most famous example. his C6 Burst applies Pyro to every weapon your team may use until his Burst ends. this means you cannot apply other elements, and he may weaken the damage of non-Pyro DPS units like Eula. thankfully you have to manually apply the Constellation after you receive them in a wish, so always read the changes before you apply them, especially on the even numbers as they tend to have the larger changes.
already C6'd a character and got another copy, like my legendary C12 Heizou? you get enough Starglitter to buy a free wish. this is actually more than just money back, because that wish still counted to your pity. I am now realising that Heizou was, in fact, helping me to C1 my Murder Narwhal.
Resources:
every day, hop up to at least the Liyue General Store and get a full allowance of Wheat, Milk, and Rice. consider hitting a couple more stores for Milk specifically because you can refine it into Butter, Cream and Cheese. these will give you the widest variety of meals to make.
also regarding refining ingredients - don't bother with Bacon or Sausages. at least not until you learn Cold Cut Platter, More-and-More, and Rice Cake Soup. those are the only 3 recipes that require them, and you can make much better use of Raw Meat and Ham for the same or even better effect.
you can reach Sumeru early by going over the Chasm in Liyue. if you're okay with possibly messing with the very first quest in Ghardaville, I highly recommend passing through and unlocking most of the rainforest area of Sumeru (or you can use the quest navigator to keep away from the quest trigger). this area is insanely resource rich, especially for hunters. Rishboland Tigers, Spinokroks, and Sumpter Beasts all drop 3-4 pieces of Raw Meat when killed. Spinokroks are easy to find in any of the watery ravines throughout the area, while Rishboland Tigers prefer to hide where there's lots of trees to plan ambushes from. use your pins when you find a spawn location and you'll never have to worry about lacking meat again.
while in Inazuma, reach reputation level 3 to automatically gain a quest called the Art of Horticulture. this quest gives you the Seed Dispensary. while it's equipped, any time you harvest plants from the game, you'll also gain a Seed for that plant (some plants don't count, any rewards or crate loot won't count, and Whopperflowers are still Whopperflowers). you can store up to 20 of each seed. when in the Serenitea Pot, you can purchase places to plant these seeds, which may take up to 3 days to grow. effectively, this allows you to double your yield from picking plants. even using Nahida's skill will still yield seeds if the Dispensery is equipped, and some of the included plants are Small Lampgrass and Sea Ganoderma. go grow you some DPS units honey.
food buffs of the same category do not stack, nor does one number overrule a portion of the other's effect. I would know, I've been trying to pair Adeptus' Temptation and Once Upon a Time in Mondstadt for over a month now. the new one simply overrules the old one.
hold your fragile resin until you hit adventure level 45. the highest level domain runs guaruntee you at least one 5* resource.
for the love of Morax make yourself some Condensed Resin. i wish they would raise the limit on how much you can hold at a time. you get double yield from domains and Ley Lines when you use these.
if you're gathering crystalflies, this is the best method i've found; go to the Anemo Archon Statue in Windrise. select a tall male character to run around the tree very fast. this is best performed with a Sayu in the team if you have her, as her passive causes crystalflies to be slower to try and flee. other Archon statues, very large trees, and unique natural structures that relate to the Archon of the area (ex - caverns in Liyue, windy forests in Mondstadt) are all good crystalfly hunting areas, but I've found the tree in Windrise is best as the crystalflies are spread out and you can grab one without the other 3-4 immediately dipping.
tapping the sprint button is measurably superior to holding it. over the same distance, you will use less stamina and go much quicker.
if gathering fish is as frustrating for you as it is for me, I have two work arounds. the first is to go to the little ponds in front of Bubu Pharmacy, which will have 3 fish each and which you can mostly walk if you use a tall male character. the second is to make use of Lisa and unleash charged attacks on the water - any fish that swims into the electrified area will immediately turn into a fish fillet that you no longer have to chase. any Electro character works but so far Lisa is an easy win even on Yae. just be aware that it will take a while for the Electro to clear, and you can take damage swimming through that field.
need to mine harder ores like Crystal or Amythest, but no Geo or Claymore? I get it, they can be pretty slow to attack, you might not wanna get jumped while using them. find something to climb on and do a dive attack. I swapped Zhongli for Layla to take advantage of Cryo app shields while paired with Tartaglia and Keqing - she can mine an Amythest lump in 2-3 very short dives.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chapter 4
December 2011
Bruce wasn't able to enroll them at Gotham Academy before he became their legal guardian, so the weeks following Thanksgiving were mainly spent exploring the manor, causing mischief, and lazing about. As promised, Dick took Melanie out to find decor for her room, just the two of them. He had to use a little force to get her to pick things out as Alfred had, but he was more teasing and antagonizing. It was strangely nice getting to bond with him without Nightwing and Robin in the way. Jason got the same treatment, a full day out on the town and a trip to the arcade. He and Bruce had another spitting argument about the future of Robin; this time, they made sure to lock down the Batcave, barring Jason and Melanie from spying again.
Rude.
Her thirteenth birthday came and went as well. Bruce put up a fight, but she insisted on not having a party. Next year you can throw the birthday bash of your dreams , she told him. Alfred and Jason (mainly Alfred) baked her a delicious cake, which they all horribly sang “Happy Birthday” over. Her cheeks were flushed a deep red for an hour afterward. Dick gifted her a giant, thick quilt that she eyeballed on their shopping trip but had passed up because it was outrageously priced.
“Dick, I can’t take this–”
“Yes, you can! I threw the receipt out, you don’t have a choice,” he snickered, the tip of his tongue stuck between his teeth.
Smug bastard.
Again against her request, Jason bought her a stereo system, so they could listen to music and dance together. He was a big fan of dancing with her – it was one of the few things they had when they were at their lowest. Even if they couldn’t scrounge batteries for their little pocket radio, he would always sing or hum a tune. Starving, exhausted, and dirty, he could still hold her close and shuffle about whatever place they temporarily called home. She almost couldn’t be upset with him for giving her such a thoughtful gift, but she still gave him a half-hearted shove.
Ironically, the only person who did what she asked was Bruce. Instead of buying her a gift, he surprised her with a visit from the seamstress and Lucius Fox. The seamstress took her measurements and walked her through what she wanted her dress to look like for the Wayne Gala on New Year's Eve. When the woman left, Bruce took her and Jason down to the cave to design their suits with Lucius, which was much more interesting than the dress.
After a half hour spent arguing, Melanie relented and let Jason take up the mantle.
Jason was officially Robin.
His would remain relatively unchanged from the original Robin suit. It would still be red, green, and yellow, with the Robin emblem on his left breastplate. With the addition of pants. And sleeves. And actual shoes.
Okay, maybe a lot was changed, but the structure was there.
When her turn came, she hastily shoved Jason into the elevator, ignoring his complaints. Her persona would be a surprise .
Soft snow flurried to the ground, carried by a cold breeze that had taken over Gotham. The temperatures had dropped significantly in December, and snow had quickly turned from a thin blanket to several inches of fluff. The Gotham City Courthouse was huge and historical; not as intimidating as the manor, but a close second. It was possible that the courthouse itself wasn’t intimidating and instead the task ahead made Jason nervous. As they climbed the white marble steps, his hand shot out to grab Melanie’s in front of him, but Dick came up behind and clapped a hand on his shoulder. “You alright there, Jaybird?” he questioned, giving him a gentle, reassuring squeeze. When Jason didn’t respond, he wrapped an arm around his back in a side hug. “I know it seems scary, but it’ll be quick. Won’t be in here for more than thirty minutes, promise.”
Jason’s head bobbed, finally breaking his gaze from the building and meeting Dick’s. “I just… I don’t like places like this. It makes me queasy,” he muttered, suddenly feeling small.
Dick’s palm pressed his shoulder, rubbing gently in an attempt to ground the teen. He didn’t want to pretend to know what Jason and Melanie were going through; when he became Bruce’s ward, he had come from a loving, albeit unconventional, family. He didn’t know what it was like to starve or fend for himself on the streets of Gotham. But what he could do was be a shoulder to lean on and offer his unconditional support.
Bruce’s hand around Melanie’s steadied her when they crossed through the double doors of the small municipal courtroom. It wasn’t as big as a criminal court, meant only for proceedings such as adoption. There were just enough seats for a few friends or family to attend if invited; that wasn’t the case for them today. Melanie had asked if Bruce and Dick would invite their “super friends” as she called them, but they decided it was too soon to introduce their real identities. So for now, it was just Dick and Alfred joining them. Jason appeared beside her with tender fingertips to her spine, which she leaned into with a smile.
“We’re going to sit on the left there,” Bruce commented, tilting his head in the direction of the long table. “Dick and Alfred will sit behind us. The judge is just going to go over the paperwork and make sure everything is in order. Then she’ll ask the state’s attorney if they object to the motion – Which they won’t,” he quickly added, seeing Jason and Melanie’s eye shoot to his. “They won’t. I promise. Everything’s taken care of, but it's all part of the process. I’ll sign the declaration, and we’ll submit the forms to change your names.”
Melanie nodded in understanding, happy to have the process explained. They’d talked about it several times before their appointment, but it was reassuring to hear it again. The judge entered from the door behind the bench, signaling them to sit down. Melanie and Jason slid into their seats before Bruce settled between them, patting Jason’s thigh with a smile.
“It’s nice to see you again, Mr. Wayne. Considering your experience with Mr. Grayson, I don’t have to ask nearly as many questions as I usually would.” She shuffled some papers around, her glasses on the tip of her nose while she searched through the stack. “Ah, here it is. It looks like everything is in order.” Her glasses were placed on the desk, and her body leaned forward. “Mr. Wayne, do you understand that adoption is a lifelong, permanent commitment? And that you are assuming all responsibility and liability for these children?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Miss Withers, Mr. Todd, do you want this adoption to proceed? Are you happy under Mr. Wayne’s care?”
Warm smiles graced both of their faces as they chirped, “Yes” and “Definitely”, talking over each other.
The older woman grinned back at them, her eyes crinkling. She turned her eyes to Dick in the back, waving her hand. “Hello again, Mr. Grayson. Lovely to see you all grown up. Your brother’s been treating you two well, I hope?”
“He’s obnoxious–”
“ Jason!”
“What?! He is!”
Dick snickered behind them, arms crossed over his chest. He shifted forward over the guard rail and flicked the back of Jason’s head, causing a howl from the kid. He whipped around to retaliate until Bruce scolded the boys with a harsh ch between his teeth. “We are in a courthouse. Knock it off.”
Jason hesitated but decided it was in his best interest to do as he was told.
The judge met Bruce’s apologetic eyes with a gentle shake of her head, her lips tugging at the edges. “I think I’ve seen enough. Is the paperwork for name changes here as well?”
“Yes, your Honor–”
“Bruce,” Jason whispered, tugging on the sleeve of his suit jacket. Bruce gave him all of his attention, his torso moving into Jason’s space. “Do I– Do I have to change my name?” His stomach rolled helplessly, his heart beating in his throat, and his eyes quickly dashed down to the table. He hated feeling like this. The last thing he wanted was to offend the man who was adopting him and giving him so much. What if he got angry? What if he kicked him out? He would never see Melanie again –
The man’s dark brows came together, wrinkles forming between them. His large, calloused hand reached up to caress the nape of his neck. Jason instantly relaxed but still looked away. “Of course not, son. Do you want to change your mind?” His voice was low, speaking only to him as if he were the most important person in the world.
Son.
His bottom lip caught between his teeth, and he raised his eyes back to Bruce’s.
Bruce pressed a soft kiss to the top of his head, and his face turned a deep shade of red. He never received that kind of affection from anyone besides Mel and his mom, let alone his father. His stomach stopped turning and filled with warm, fuzzy butterflies at the comforting hold.
Keeping his hand in place, Bruce addressed the woman, “Just for Melanie, your Honor.”
“Very well.” Her glasses slid back onto the bridge of her nose and her pen dragged across the paper. “It will take a few days for the name change to go through. I can have the Records department reach out when Melanie’s new birth certificate is ready. Otherwise, the adoption is officially approved by the City of Gotham!” She cracked her gavel, and a small applause broke out from Dick, Alfred, Bruce, and the woman at the bench. A hand ruffled her hair as she giggled, squirming away from the force. Melanie leaned into Bruce’s side and buried her face there, his arm draping over her with a throaty laugh.
“Before you all go, I do have to warn you, court dockets and schedules are available to the public. There wasn’t a crowd when you arrived because you were early, but–”
Dick’s chest huffed with an accompanying eye roll. “How many people are there?” His voice was practically begging. “It can’t be as bad as when I was adopted, right?”
A sympathetic grimace spread on her wrinkled face.
Dick and Bruce sandwiched them together between their bodies as they exited City Hall. Melanie’s fingers gripped the back of Bruce’s jacket at the flashing lights and loud attempts to grab his attention. Jason walked beside her, holding her hand tightly from Dick’s side. “Holy shit,” he exhaled a short ha! “I don’t remember nearly this many people last time.”
Holy shit’s right.
“Double the kid, double the crowd?” Jason offered, his thumb dragging back and forth across her knuckles.
Bruce scowled with pinched lips and his perfect posture somehow straightened more. Dealing with reporters came with being a Wayne, but that didn’t make it any less irritating. He had hoped to have at least a few hours to prepare them for the media frenzy that would follow the breaking news of two new children. “This is unfortunately a regular occurrence. Consider it an initiation into the family,” he muttered in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Alfred went around back to get the car, so this should be quick. If you’d like to speak, you can, but don’t feel pressured.”
Dick gasped, almost like he was going to jump out of his skin. “Does that mean I can–”
“Absolutely not.”
He visibly deflated, his lips in a deep pout. “But Bruce–”
“Dick, I said no.”
“But the chaos–!”
Dick stopped himself as a pretty redhead met the group halfway up the steps, batting her lashes at Bruce. Jason and Melanie shared a look that said Ew.
“Hello, Vicki.”
DOUBLE ew. Who would willingly go by Vicki ?
“Hi, Bruce. Mr. Grayson,” she gave Dick a quick side-eye. “And you two must be the newest additions!”
“This is Melanie,” Bruce explained, being cordial with the reporter with his dazzling smile. “And this is Jason. They’ve been in my care for the last month.” He neglected to mention just how they came under his care. The public didn’t need to know about their… criminal tendencies. “They needed a home and I’m happy to give them one.”
“That’s wonderful! Would either of you care to comment?”
Jason’s face was plastered with a wicked smirk, mischief rolling in his gut. “Fu-”
Bruce’s large hand slapped over his mouth.
Melanie choked on the laugh in her throat, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment, and Dick chortled next to Jason. Bruce glared at her, daring her to try anything funny. Alright, alright.
“Um…” She looked up at him, her hand pulling harder on his clothes. “I’m–I’m really happy we met Bruce. We were struggling just a month ago and ah… I’m not sure where we would be without him.” Bruce’s hand left Jason’s face and caressed her hair with a small but warm smile. Suddenly, a well-timed car horn all but saved them and she pressed against Bruce’s back, urging him forward.
“Thank you, Vicki, but we have to get going. A quick word?”
Dick nudged his elbow in the direction of the black vehicle through the crowd. “Give them a minute. Let’s go,” he said while moving in between Jason and Melanie, offering his hand to her, which she took. He kept a hand between Jason’s shoulders to lead them to the car, and to keep them both close in the thick crowd. He shuffled them into the car first before sliding in, letting out a hearty groan-mixed huff. “Unbelievable, they’re like vultures. It’s gross,” he muttered, dusting off his arms as if to rub away the feeling of hands grabbing at him.
Melanie squeezed into Jason to look out the window with him, their noses squished against the glass. Her hands pressed into his thighs to support her weight as she leaned over him. “What are they talking about?” Jason questioned, watching their conversation. The reporter had lowered her microphone and leaned in to speak quietly with him. They were clearly speaking privately.
“He is reminding Miss Vale of his rules,” Alfred informed them, turning his head to look at Dick with a raised brow.
“Rules?” Melanie asked, just as he made his way towards the car. The rear side door opened, and Bruce slid into the seat across from them.
“I cannot trust a single one of you to be civilized with the media,” Bruce grumbled, plopping into the seat with a thud. “I was reminding Vicki to let her colleagues know that they are still not allowed to speak with any of you without my presence until you are eighteen. Obviously, that rule has proven its efficacy. Again.”
“Awe c’mon Bruce, I’m not that bad–”
“You absolutely are. You called Vicki a cheap knock-off of Lois Lane and tried to bite her finger– ”
“She was pinching my cheek! I don’t know what it is with the public and their incessant need to always touch me, but it all started with her! I have no regrets.”
Bruce shot him a look and Dick huffed. No one spoke, leaving the car in a comfortable silence as Alfred drove them back to the manor.
“If I may, Master Bruce,” the butler paused, waiting for Bruce’s affirmation to continue. “Etiquette training is just as important as the physical and mental preparation of their roles. Perhaps Master Dick could use a refresher as well.”
Dick’s long body was thrown across his seat with a dramatic groan, flopping into Bruce’s lap. “Can it at least wait until after we go sledding?”
“Only if I’m invited.”
The next morning, where a photo of Bruce, Dick, and Alfred in a small courtroom sat on display on the center table in the grand foyer, another frame was added. With a much older Dick, Bruce, Alfred, Jason, and Melanie in the same room, with beaming smiles and bunny ears stuck up behind the newest Waynes.

The pumpkin left on Dennis' window was one of the smaller pumpkins Ratchet had received, but it also had a small carving design to match: a life-sized little rat. Inside, a battery-powered electric light had been placed, as it was safer and less harmful to the pumpkin than leaving a flame. -autobotmedic
Dennis doesn't even need to ask who's leaving pumpkins on windowsills like some kind of strange Halloween Santa, or why. With his room being on the second story of his house the pumpkin obviously has to be placed by an Autobot (or a very determined human, which seems unlikely), and the rat craving on the broadside of it... Well, who else pays attention to his bois other than Ratchet?
Many pictures are taken of the decked out gourd before Dennis eventually removes the light fixture, setting it down with his wisp from Eve and the geode from Judas, and then sets the pumpkin down in the rat enclosure. Unsurprisingly, the bois are delighted with the addition, making all the happy rat noises that they can while they explore the innards, the smell, and eventually the taste of the pumpkin. A picture of this gets taken as well and gets forwarded to Ratchet.

The Impact of Electric Vehicles on The Environment and Climate Change
Electric vehicles (EVs) are rapidly transforming the transportation sector, promising a cleaner future. But how big of an impact do they truly have on the environment and climate change? While EVs offer significant advantages, a clear understanding of their lifecycle is crucial.
Tumblr media
The Benefits: A Breath of Fresh Air
One of the most significant advantages of EVs is their lack of tailpipe emissions. Unlike gasoline-powered vehicles that spew pollutants like nitrogen oxide and particulate matter, EVs contribute directly to cleaner air, especially in urban areas. This translates to reduced respiratory illnesses, improved public health, and a more pleasant environment.
Furthermore, EVs boast superior energy efficiency. Electric motors convert a much higher percentage of energy into movement compared to traditional combustion engines, which waste a significant amount of energy as heat. This efficiency translates to lower electricity consumption and a smaller overall carbon footprint.
Beyond the Tailpipe: A Lifecycle View
However, the environmental impact of EVs goes beyond just tailpipe emissions. Manufacturing an EV battery requires significant resources and energy, which can generate pollution. Additionally, the electricity used to charge an EV plays a crucial role. In regions where the electricity grid relies heavily on fossil fuels, the environmental benefit is diminished.
Here's a breakdown of some key considerations:
Battery Production: Mining the materials for EV batteries can have environmental consequences. Lithium extraction, for example, can raise concerns about water usage and local ecosystems. However, battery technology is constantly evolving, and research is ongoing to develop more sustainable options.
The Power Source: The environmental impact of EVs hinges on the source of electricity used for charging. If the grid relies heavily on coal or natural gas, the carbon footprint of EVs increases. However, the good news is that renewable energy sources like solar and wind are becoming increasingly affordable and widespread. As the grid transitions to cleaner sources, the environmental benefit of EVs will become even more pronounced.
A Holistic Approach: Mitigating the Downsides
While there are challenges, there are also ways to mitigate the environmental impact of EV production and use.
Sustainable Manufacturing: Stricter regulations and industry initiatives can promote responsible mining practices and encourage the use of recycled materials in battery production.
Grid Modernization: Investing in renewable energy infrastructure and transitioning away from fossil fuels is crucial. This will not only benefit EVs but also reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.
Second Life for Batteries: Used EV batteries still hold significant capacity. Developing efficient ways to reuse them in stationary applications like energy storage systems can extend their lifespan and reduce environmental impact.
Beyond Climate Change: A Wider Environmental Impact
The benefits of EVs extend beyond just climate change. They can significantly reduce noise pollution in urban areas. Traditional gasoline engines contribute to a constant hum that disrupts wildlife and reduces the overall quality of life. EVs, with their near-silent operation, can create quieter streets and a more peaceful environment.
Furthermore, EVs eliminate the need for extracting, refining, and transporting fossil fuels. This reduces the environmental damage associated with oil spills, pipeline leaks, and air pollution from refineries. Additionally, EVs require less maintenance compared to gasoline vehicles, leading to a reduction in the production and disposal of used motor oil, which can be harmful to the environment if not handled properly.
While a full understanding of the lifecycle impact is crucial, EVs offer a significant net positive effect on the environment. With continued advancements in technology, responsible manufacturing practices, and a shift towards renewable energy, electric vehicles have the potential to revolutionize transportation in a sustainable way, paving the road for a cleaner and healthier future for all.
Conclusion: A Charged Future for a Sustainable World
Electric vehicles are not a silver bullet, but they represent a powerful turning point in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation. While challenges remain in battery production and the reliance on clean energy grids, the potential benefits are undeniable.
A Catalyst for Change: The widespread adoption of EVs can create a ripple effect, driving innovation in renewable energy sources, battery technology, and sustainable manufacturing practices. This can lead to a cleaner electricity grid, reduced reliance on fossil fuels across sectors, and a more circular economy for critical materials.
A Shared Responsibility: The transition to a more sustainable transportation system requires a collaborative effort. Governments can incentivize EV adoption and renewable energy production through policies and subsidies.
