So when I made this Picrew @illarian-rambling who's beta reading for me mentioned she imagined Kelsey with shitty black hair dye instead of her blonde hair.
I only mention Kelsey's blonde hair twice. But I love the image of her with cheap black hair dye.
So I've no choice... Do I make her hair dyed black?

Japanese: written 渡辺 'crossing' and 'boundary'
macchia f (plural macchie) stain, smear. spot, fleck. (figuratively) blot, speck, disgrace (I chose this because one of the characters he's based on the the phantom blot and he is a notable character in some of the topolino comics and I like the idea of an Italian American Yuu)
The reason I gave Yuu the surname Watanabe was because it slightly referenced the after life like the manga Yuus and also because the manga Yuus were Japanese so I went with that because back in the day when I didn't really have an idea for their backstory and overall character so I just went (idk, just do what the cannon is doing)

explanation: its for a story set in a post apocalypse hundreds of years after a nuclear war. a mutated version of the rabies virus has infected humans and animals all over the world, creating zombie-like highly dangerous creatures.
pros/cons for A
pros: because living in the post apocalypse right? the whole world is out to get you, your constantly being hunted. this allows me to have things like birds and shit which is nice
cons: wolves man. and coyotes and foxes and lynxes and etc. theres a lot of cool wolf imagery that i am a SUCKER for but it just wont be possible.
pros/cons for B
pros: this means only mammals and basically only predator animals. also the symbolism bc even though some of them might feel invincible, they very much can get the disease, which wouldnt be as goof for say, a bird character, bc birds dont get rabies.
cons: but birds!! i had an idea for a bird character that i rlly like but... wolves...

what should my OC's name be
it is Time.
all names below were submitted.i tossed a bunch for various reasons (name of a real person, could tell i would hate writing it, etc) and then used a random number generator to narrow it down. except Astraeus because TWO people submitted it so i figured it should go on here
Propaganda (names not listed were submitted w/o propaganda):
Agatha: "old lady name good"
Astraeus: "It's a name of a Greek god who was an astrological deity and is also associated with wind. The name is derived from the Greek word for star and it is also an scientific name for a fungi that is in the shape of a star. Also I just think it's neat" and also "After astraeus hygrometicus, for OC’s potential mushroom-hood and unidentifiable starlight hair. “Astraeus hygrometricus, commonly known as the hygroscopic earthstar, the barometer earthstar, or the false earthstar, is a species of fungus in the family Diplocystaceae” -wikipedia"
Clementine: "beautiful name"
Gift: "It means poison in german and if they're a fungus they might as well kill ppl :)"
Aamina: a behind the name link was submitted
Latte: "i wanted to name my dog this but i was outvoted. latte this is your second chance"
Erigeron: "it's the name of the genus of plants including daisy fleabane and robin's plantain, which i learned to identify recently on a trip to great smoky mountains national park. i think they're really charming flowers. also, the geron part you might recognize as the greek root for old man, which fits with the baldness i guess, though in this case the genus is called such because parts of the fruit & flower look like white hair at certain stages. it's not the prettiest sounding name though :("

1, 2, 3, LETS GO!
The tournament is back with a new theme! This time around, the theme is original characters based on preexisting songs! If you ever listened to a song and was so inspired you made a whole OC based off it, now you have the chance to send them off and have them fight in a battle of the bands! .... So to speak!
RULES:
1: Your character must be based on a preexisting song. This is not a tournament for OC's who are just generally music themed- You have to be able to point to an actual song and explain how your OC came from that. Other than that, it can be any kind of song, anything from punk, country, rap, to even old classical music!
2: The character you submit must be yours. You cannot submit other people’s characters for them. If the character is shared between two or more people, all owners must sign off on submitting them into the competition.
3: Fandom OCs are NOT allowed. We all love fandom OCs, but for this competition I don’t want fandom bias to get in the way. This also includes fandom related songs.
4: Please avoid triggering subjects. Serious topics in characters stories/backstories is fine, but please avoid submitting characters who’s stories involve bigotry, sexual violence, or anything else that might warrant a serious content warning. While there is a time and a place for exploring those topics, this is not it. This is supposed to be lighthearted! This also applies to the songs. Mentions of violence, sex, or swears are allowed though, as long as it doesn't require a major content or trigger warning.
5: While you can submit multiple characters separately, only one OC can be selected for the tournament. This is to avoid one person having multiple chances to win. This also means you cannot submit groups or multiple characters who are paired together. Every match up should be one on one!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Propaganda is allowed and encouraged! Once the characters have been selected and announced, there will be a period before the actual match ups start where people can submit propaganda! This can come from the creators of the OC’s or even from friends of the creator who are familiar with the OC in question, if they so choose! Propaganda can be anything, art, writing, etc! All propaganda will be tagged as propaganda and as the character’s name!
This tourney is even smaller than the last one, to keep things short and sweet. I am only accepting 8 entrants! I will be personally picking who gets in from the submissions, it is Not first come first serve. If your OC doesn't make it in, I'm very sorry!

TOXIC SHIP TOURNAMENT 2023
Do you have a ship? Does it lean more towards the cringe or toxic side? Well, how about you bring that toxicity on over here and let them compete against other awful ships.
Rules:
1. The ships must involve OCs. As much as I love a good canon x canon ship, only OC x Canon or OC x OC ships are allowed.
2. While these ships tend to involve toxic tropes, I would prefer staying away from ones that involve non/dub con. But don’t worry! Things like a little gaslighting and/or kidnapping between lovers is totally fine!
3. NO SHIPS INVOLVING MINORS
4. Throuples and poly ships are welcome!
