Captain Marvel Vol. 1 #34 (1974) and Captain Marvel: Dark Tempest Vol. 1 #2 (2023) variant cover by Ron Lim.
Dark Tempest Vol. 1 #2 made its release on August 9th with 8 variant covers- including this homage to Nitro's first appearance issue cover, only 49 years, 1 month, and 22 days apart!
Since my friend and I are playing Bioshock 1, i wanted to share some of the things that have happened so far:
- We sat and watched the plane fully sink
- "OUGH?!" < her reaction to the giant Ryan statue
- Right off the bat she didn't trust Atlas and said his wife and child aren't real
- Every security bot is named Jeff
- The wrench is also Jeff(rey Bezos)
- We spent 30 minutes trying to get to Steinman because I forgot I has to throw the bombs at the debris blocking the entrance
- We went through 4 nitro splicers before I realized something wasn't right. I do this everytime. I literally replayed Bioshock like 2 weeks ago and forgot how to do that
- I've died more times in this playthrough than I ever have in Bioshock 1
- Keeps asking me if Atlas is evil, I keep telling her no and that he's my babygirl
- I've been spoon feeding her Atlas propaganda so hopefully she'll trust him by the end
- LOVES the little sisters, terrified of big daddys. She screamed the first time we had to fight one
- I tried to get the first bouncer stuck behind the register in the Medical Bay, but absolutely shredded him before I could
- The women were too stunned to speak
- We sat under the floor of the McCracken Crab trying to kill a Rosie. I died.
- I also hid under the floor of the Fisheries and smacked Splicers that walked overhead
- I got killed by a (different) Rosie like 5 times before I finally killed her
- Also ran from the third Rosie repeatedly before I finally killed him
- She chose target dummy for our first real plasmid
- I've only ever used it when losing control of the plasmids. So I've only used it once-
- Me: God I hate Andrew Ryan
Her: Bash his brains in
Me: *Hephaestus flashbacks* Oh I'm gonna
- Spider splicer: *angry screeching*
Me: New wife for you
Her: Great, thanks
- Hates it everytime I say "Snappies"
- I spent way too long looking for the final spider splicer before realizing I could take a picture of a dead one
- She did trust Peach Wilkins though (Somehow??)
- "I've got a really bad feeling about this" intensifies
- Yelled "THIS IS YOUR MAN⁉️" When Atlas walked out and almost missed Ryan's speech and the splicers bc of it
- Predicted the sub would blow up, but was shocked when it actually did
- I think she begrudgingly trusts Atlas now, his acting is peak
- I also went on a 2 minute rant about him and she made fun or me the entire time
- *finds a crawlspace full of Atlas posters*
Me: Oh my god, this is where I live!!
Her: NO
Me: With my Atlas posters and my.. Pistol bullets??
Her: N O !!
- #1 Langford stan (she's in love with her)
- Got jumpscared by the Houdini splicer that appears behind you (We both screamed)
- I was laughing bc his shadow was looming over us, then slowly turned around and we had a staring contest before I finally shot him in the face
- I've literally never seen him just sit there before?? He always disappeared as soon as I turned around. Wild
- She compared Langford writing the code on the window to 11307 from Danganronpa (iykyk)
- Cue disappointed sighing (Not really, I laughed really hard)
- This entire playthrough has just been me aggressively hitting on Atlas and her reevaluating our friendship
- Not even the posters are safe
- "Who is Atlas?"
Me: My husband
Her: UGH
- Saying "This is for me!!" every time I see an Atlas poster
- She is genuinely considering killing me
- Made me harvest a little sister to see what would happen 😔 We reloaded tho it's okay
- I've found so many secrets in this playthrough, including a vent that goes to a meat locker in the Farmers Market
- It felt like I was getting chased by everyone in Rapture while trying to make the Lazarus Vector
- I also (somehow) shot the big daddy in Langford's office while fighting splicers
- That was terrifying
- *Enters Fort Frolic* Me: It's about to get real silly
- I've been hyping up Cohen this entire time because I knew she would like him
- Unfortunately, she does
- She gagged at the "expectant mama" line
- Got jumpscared AGAIN by the splicer in the basement of Sinclair Spirits
- "SINCLAIR WHAT THE FUCK"
- I can never find the record store when I play Bioshock, this time was no different
- I gave up and went after Hector instead
- When we met Silas Cobb she yelled "KITTENS??"
- She agrees Silas is a discord mod
- We spent like 2 minutes straight trying to catch Hector and Silas
- I also got jumped by a bunch of splicers every time I tried to kill a bouncer
- She lost it at Cohen walking down the stairs
- "HIS GAY ASS WALK"
- I smacked Cohen after his speech and immediately ran
That's all so far, but we'll hopefully play some more this week!
sexuality hc: it depends on the iteration. Mutant Mayhem! and Rise! Donnie are aroace (MM! Don only online dates for robux and discord nitro). 2012! is bisexual as hell and homophobic at the same time. And 2003 is a butch lesbian who uses he/him pronouns.
otp: Caseytello in 2012 and Jhannatello in 2003 woawh.... (I haven't even gotten to Jhanna yet but the art I've seen...)
brotp: Rise! April and Donnie are everything to me and more
notp: 2012! April and Donnie was TMNT's worst mistake 🙁 Leo wouldn't have treated her like that
first headcanon that pops into my head:
one way in which I relate to this character: one way? bitch, I am Mutant Mayhem Donnie and Rise Donnie. (The Mutant Mayhem boys are all me but in different flavors, mostly Leo and Donnie)
thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: everything about 2012! Don.
cinnamon roll or problematic fave: depends on the iteration. mostly problematic as hell Donatello Ninja Turtle bombed my living room with his technology and said whoopsies ^_^
some (head)canons (idk if it's a canon or a headcanon when it comes to oc x canon) about my killjoy oc Nitro Noodle with the other killjoys aha-
⚝ the other killjoys call him "noodles" like a cute nickname, but only they can call him that, no one else from other groups can. He's non binary but doesn't really mind being referred to as a guy since he does prefer to present a bit more masculine
⚝ his mental state isn't exactly the best, the bandages on his forearms aren't just for aesthetic, he does pretend that it is for aesthetic to not make people worried about him because he cosntantly feels like a burden, and when people worry about him, that feeling gets worse or mixes with fear and stress from not knowing the difference between someone being worried or angry at him, the only person he doesn't feel scared that he might be a burden to is poison
⚝ despite actually needing help and care from other people, mostly from poison due to his VERY fragile mental health state, he absolutely hates being infantilized more than anything else in the world. He is NOT a child, this is a 20 year old man able to do MANY things by himself, he just happens to need help from another person with other things because of the neurodiversity and mental health conditions and despite him being very kind and polite to everyone, he's obviously not gonna be nice anymore if you treat him like a child
⚝ noodles sometimes pulls poison's hair as a dumb joke (he did it for the first time to make them dodge when an exterminator tried to aim for their head so- they just let it slide since that saved them in the first time)
⚝ of all the 4 adults in the group the one he's closest to the most is poison, mostly from experiencing gender similarly and a feeling of comfort and safety from being near them as well, but there's other aspects as well that aren't only those two, of course. It's visible by the fact that he has red hair too, he never hid that it was because of them that he dyed his hair red (i like to think that poison is autistic and partially verbal, which i admit is for no other reason than just wanting to have more things in common with them)
⚝ he doesn't go outside much because of an extreme fear of the outside world and of other people, specially in the daytime when people are outside more, he often stays inside the diner making bombs or chemical weapons and goes absolutely fucking crazy with anger if someone touches his chemistry equipment (he doesn't get straight up hostile and violent, but you WILL get yelled at.) Except if it's just the girl, then he's not so harsh on her but he still wants her as far away from his equipment as possible, for her own safety of course. Due to his fear of the outside, poison often goes out with him to ensure he's not gonna have a panic attack outside, sometimes one of the other 3 go instead, but it's mostly poison
⚝ he often makes and exchanges drugs, bombs and chemical weapons for things that the others might be in urgent need of and making sure everyone's safe and healthy, but sometimes he does it to get some nice things or gifts to the others, mostly to make up for an inconvenience he caused and feels deeply guilty for, even if the other 4 say it's okay and that it wasn't that bad, and even afterwards, the guilt and shame just don't go away
⚝ he hates being touched by other people, but when he trusts them enough he becomes very clingy and follows them everywhere, he was afraid it would be bothersome so it took him a while to get comfortable with showing affection to the others
⚝ he has somewhat of a trauma with stares and visual contact from the times he lived in the urban part before running away, sometimes he makes effort to try to look into people's eyes when requested to do so despite the panic that it brings to him. His friends always make sure to let him know he doesn't need to look at them if he doesn't feel comfortable with it.
⚝ sometimes he feels so much like a burden that he has the urge to run away from the diner and never come back, he only did it once and never did it again after somehow being found by poison with melted eyeliner all over their cheeks and not speaking a single word on the way back home, not to ignore him but simply from being unable to just think or say anything, noodle thought they were angry, he still thinks they were angry in that day, that all of them were angry, even after they seemed relieved that he was found, even if they never, ever raised their voices at him. He can't tell the difference.
⚝ he stole a bl\ind van once lol. The van is still there because he took off the tires and the battery to make sure no one would be able to steal it, he sleeps inside the van sometimes when he's feeling unsafe near everyone else. Only poison and the girl are allowed inside the van. I might draw him in the van some day.
i might add more things later in another post, i can't really think of anything else right now asdajisdkhalj
Welcome to Year of the Bat! In honor of Kevin Conroy, Arleen Sorkin, and Richard Moll, I’m counting down my Top 31 Favorite Episodes of “Batman: The Animated Series” throughout this January.
TODAY’S EPISODE QUOTE: “This used to be a beautiful street. Good people lived here once.”
Number 14 is…Appointment in Crime Alley.
Much like “The Forgotten,” or the Honorable Mentions “See No Evil," "Paging the Crime Doctor," and “A Bullet for Bullock,” this is an episode that shows that some of the best Batman stories aren’t necessarily tales of him taking down mad supervillains or going on grand, sweeping adventures. Sometimes, the best stories are the most down-to-Earth, simple, and unsettlingly real. “Appointment in Crime Alley” is the introduction of Leslie Thompkins – one of the more unsung members of the “Bat-Family,” in my opinion – and is based on the comic “There is No Hope in Crime Alley!” I’ve never actually read the comic this episode was based on, so I can’t judge it as an adaptation in any way (unlike previous similar instances, such as “Joker’s Millions” or “Never Fear”). Thankfully, this episode stands up so well on its own terms, that’s not really an issue.
The plot focuses on Batman/Bruce Wayne making an annual pilgrimage to Park Row, a.k.a. Crime Alley. It’s a lonely, largely abandoned section of Gotham; once one of its more prosperous areas, it has, over time, descended into ruin, becoming a broken slum where derelicts and degenerates propagate. The primary reason the sorry place remains standing is because it’s been sanctioned off as a historic site. On top of that, there are still people who live in Crime Alley, and they refuse to see their home bulldozed. This isn’t enough to stop recurring antagonist Roland Daggett: a crooked businessman who wants to destroy all of Crime Alley, so that he can use the land for his own ends. To this end, Daggett hires an explosives expert and arsonist called Nitro, who goes about setting time bombs across the area, with the intention being to blow up the whole place – people and all – and make it look like an accident on account of faulty gas pipes. When Bruce’s friend, Leslie Thompkins, is kidnapped by Nitro, Batman must try to save her and Park Row from inevitable doom, all while dealing with a gauntlet of other problems that keep getting in his way during this race against the clock.
“Appointment in Crime Alley” is one of the most suspenseful and gritty episodes of the series. The direct ties to Batman’s tragic origins are a big part of what make it so memorable; Bruce goes through all of this with the simple and sad purpose of laying flowers on the spot where his parents met their untimely ends. It’s a ritual he treats with great reverence, and what’s interesting about all this is you’d think he’d hate Crime Alley as much as anybody else, given both its reputation and his history with the spot. Instead, Bruce strives to save both it and Leslie. Of course, this is expected; he’s the hero, and Leslie is someone very close to him: she is one of his mentor figures, a sort of surrogate mother in the same way Alfred is often perceived as a surrogate father. Also, he can hardly let dozens of innocent people die because of Daggett and Nitro.
However, I think there’s more to it than even that: there’s a lot of talk in this episode about the state of Crime Alley, comparing its despoiled status with its former glory. In a way, the place seems to be a microcosm of Gotham itself: this little spot of crime, corruption, and rampant poverty, which many in the city see as a seeping, infected growth that needs to be amputated. It’s made clear, however, that Crime Alley ISN’T just a den of thieves and lowlifes: the people who live here aren’t all bad people, with Leslie being among them. Bruce recognizes this better than anyone: it’s one of Gotham’s darkest corners, but Leslie represents hope and warmth there, someone who wants to save lives and make people happy in a place where those things seem almost impossible. I can’t help but feel there’s a subtle indication there of where so much of Batman’s personality and philosophy came from: he, too, is someone who seeks to do these things, in a place that, overall, many would argue is the same, but he works on a more grandiose scale. It’s an interesting parallel, and gives us some unique looks into Bruce’s mind and heart alike. Tense, dark, emotional, and layered with ample nuance, “Appointment in Crime Alley” is an episode that matches its namesake: one small, black moment in an already dark show, yet with some surprising light hidden in its depths.
Tomorrow we move on to Number 13!
Hint: “Without Batman, crime has no punchline.”
Dorothy Gale McShane, better known by her nickname "Ace", was a companion to the Seventh Doctor. At his side she faced the Doctor's greatest foes including the Cybermen, the Master, and the Daleks - who she famously beat up with a baseball bat!
Before she met the Doctor, she lived in Perivale, West London. A reckless teenager, she was extremely clever and had a passion for chemistry, but due to many traumatic experiences during her childhood and the resulting anger she felt towards the world around her, she didn't pass her exams.
When she was just 17, while experimenting with explosives in her bedroom, she accidentally created a Time Storm and transported to Iceworld, on the planet Svartos in the far future.
With no way to get back home, she worked there as a waitress in an ice cream parlour, where she would eventually meet the Doctor, who she often called Professor.
When current companion Mel Bush left the TARDIS at the end of the serial, the Doctor offered Ace the opportunity to join him. Ace, who had been fired after dumping a milkshake over a rude customer's head, jumped at the chance and never looked back.
The Seventh Doctor took his role as her teacher extremely seriously, often taking her places in order to face the demons of her past. He could be very cruel, yet Ace was fiercely loyal and very protective of her best friend. Despite his manipulative behaviour, he cared very deeply for her, and hoped that she could learn and grow to be the confident and empowered person he knew she could be with a little help.
Ace never stopped being a weapons expert despite the time she spent with the supposedly pacifist Doctor. He never had any qualms about asking Ace to use weapons on his behalf to blow up his enemies.
Ace's specialty was Nitro-9, a highly explosive bomb she created herself and stored in old silver deodorant cans in her rucksack until needed. It was lucky that Ace ignored the Doctor's warnings about carrying her homemade explosives - even when he expressly forbade it - as she often needed to use them to get out of a sticky situation or two.
Unfortunately, Ace's run was cut short as series 26 was the last of the classic era. It ended with a voice over from the Doctor as he and Ace walked back to the TARDIS for more adventures that sadly would never be broadcast. This was the last time she'd appear on screen until The Power of the Doctor, over 30 years later.
She's the only companion whose departure was never definitely established on the show. Whilst the Seventh Doctor is in the Television Movie, in which he regenerates into the Eighth Doctor, he no longer has a companion with him.
If the show had been renewed for another series, it would've seen Ace leave the Doctor's side to enrol in the academy on Gallifrey, eventually to become a Time Lord herself. But in some extended media of Ace's further adventures with the Doctor, she's killed by her own explosives or dies of old age, never having left her beloved friend.
However, with her appearance in The Power of the Doctor, we can be glad this isn't the case. Instead, whenever or however she left the Doctor, she would go on to set up A Charitable Earth (ACE, for short!) - an idea first mentioned in the Sarah Jane Adventures episode Death to the Doctor.
Extended media has Ms McShane as CEO of the global organisation that champions change in young people across the word. Despite this adult world of power suits and boardrooms, Ace still thinks often of the Doctor and the adventures of her youth.
And you can bet she's still fighting injustices, whether they're human or alien.
Iron Man Vol. 6 Issue #15, in the Korvac Saga, Tony Stark got Cosmic Powers. While Fighting Korvac, AN ENTIRE PLANET full of sentient Aliens got DESTROYED. Collateral Damage.
Remember, Civil War guys??? The Stamford Explosion in the comics, and in the MCU the Bombing in Lagos. ALL PRO TONY FANS whined and whined about the Collateral Damages, and how TONY AND THE ACCORDS WAS RIGHT, because blah blah collateral. And guess what, the same Pro Tony Pro Registration lunatics are ALL SUDDENLY SILENT about this little GENOCIDE. NO ONE is talking about this horrible incident. The same Prop Tony fanboys who wrote pages upon pages justifying the SHRA and the Sokovia Accords suddenly got nothing to say when their precious HERO got an entire planet destroyed as collateral damage.
Behold Tony Stark allowing an ENTIRE PLANET BE DESTROYED. After that planet was destroyed, ONLY AFTER THAT did Tony punched a whole to another universe so that they can fight “SAFELY”. And, after Korvac got arrested by the Living Tribunal and the rest of the Cosmic Entities, Tony did NOTHING to restore the Planet “Draconius”,. His Cosmic Power could have totally restored that planet and all its inhabitants, but NO. He doesnt care that billions of sentient lives was just lost when he fought Korvac, lives that didnt even had to be lost if Tony just sent them both to another universe BEFORE the planet was destroyed.
So he went back to Earth, calling himself the Iron God,… and this genious thought he could solve world peace by giving EVERYONE genius level intellect. But he just put it on Trial Version in New York as an experiment. EVERYONE in NY became geniuses… including greedy CRIMINALS. so, ya know, that caused chaos.
So some of his friends wanted to stop Tony. Tony felt BETRAYED, so he killed them. Melted Silver Surfer, boiled Frogman alive, snuffed the Human Torch, turned Gargoyle into stone and shattered him, and broke Rhodeys neck. But he felt bad so he ressurected them all and said Sorry, No Hard Feelings…. he said sorry so I guess hes improving…. and then he removed his Cosmic Power and went to rehab…. but Planet Draconius is still destroyed and billions are still dead but hey, its Tony, hes immune from consequences.
When the New Warriors failed and Nitro EXPLODED and killed alot of people in Stamford, that sparked the Civil War. Speedball, Robert Baldwin, one of the New Warriors survived, and was arrested, SUFFERED in prison and he Registered. Speedball was BLAMED and hated and PUNISHED SEVERELY even though Nitro would have exploded regardless of who was stopping him. But Tony got an ENTIRE PLANET destroyed, BILLIONS DEAD, and he wasnt punished at all. How the heck is any of this fair?

(This is a dream I documented back in 2017, and never shared. I found it in my inbox today, but I have no memory of it.)
Carnage everywhere.
We start in the lost city of altantis. Magical, underwater. It was found by walking off a cliff in Arizona and walking on nothing across the gap.
We spend years there. Developing their weapons, and trying to build tech to make our way back to the modern world. But it occurs to us; it's difficult to tell the zombies apart from the other factions trying to survive. Both are constantly attacking. The zombies to kill, and factions to steal resources.
But we are skilled at bringing death. I have a grappling hook, and I can jump great heights. We have homemade glycerine bombs, and we ride these monsterous machines of the future. Giant trains that run on 4 tracks, vehicles the size of a city block. And we are constantly on the move, trying to get to safe objectives, or to connect with people who can help us, or to people that are vital to stopping all of this. We have powerful energy weapons, but so do many of our enemies. A few times I make a mistake - run around the wrong corner and get skewerd - but I seem to be able to redo my effort.
An enemy throws a grenade at me, but I pick it up and return it back. They set up a nitro bomb in the middle of our boat, and I don't dismantle it in time, close friends and most of our resources are lost. We're forced inland.
Not all of the factions that surround us are hostile, but it's very hard to tell the difference. We shoot at anything that moves. At one point I realize that a particularly large group of horrible looking people are crowding in around us, and it's not until we've killed half of them that I notice they're not attacking, and they don't have weapons. I realize they have no way to communicate an alliance in the middle of a firefight, so their final resort was to approach us unarmed, as a gesture of peace, but we had slaughtered them.
We raid a well-guarded park to find a man who will be able to tell us what's happening. He explains all to us, as we escape by climbing up a series of housing units that are ever increasing in size. First, as buildings, then as city blocks, then as high rises. Always the same sturdy rounded shape. Just increasingly large, and increasingly many. He explains that we solved the housing crisis by increasing density. Millions of people lived in these monolithic structures. We all commuted on these massive trains, we all worked in massive complexes, but then the visionary that created all of this got sick, and rotted in his home for months. Before anyone had found him, his disease had spread. And because of that density, the zombie infection had travelled fast.
Now as we climb and jump across these giant buildings we realize that they're the source of the zombies. They're crawling with them. And we're provoking millions of them with our noisy actions. They're spilling out of windows like water.
easily the best part of the game… Outside of the grindy career there’s flatout mode which features stunt tracks where you try to nock items down for example for the most possible points, beat the bomb which is a race the clock checkpoint style challenge, carnage where you destroy as many items and cars as possible, and finally death match which like the arena modes in the career is a demolition derby style game, expect here you have infinite lives trying to get the most kills, while in the career its more last man standing… and finally there’s multiplayer. you’re stuck with playing the same tracks over and over until you can afford one… The tracks are well designed and fun to play through though. But you don’t get that… the payouts are low so you can’t just go buy a better car. but being first the whole time and then losing because there is no nitro reward for you makes the game feel cheap, and ultimately makes winning feel like you got lucky… this of course could be balanced out by high payouts for wins and damage. Sure coming out on top against all odds is thrilling. you aren’t rewarded for maintaining certain speeds or dodging obstacles… because of this you have everything to lose by holding the top spot… it’s way too easy at the last moment for an opponent that’s been ramming into cars all race to use it nitro to catch up to you and then spin you out… forcing you to reset your car and be placed in the middle or near the end of the pack when you were in first place… this unbalance makes the racing segments of the game feel unfair. because of this enemy ai is extremely aggressive, constantly spinning you out… doesn’t sound like a big deal until you realize that being out in front means there’s no one for you to hit. I do have my moments… But there is a nitro boost to help you in races… The thing is that sure you get a little from jumps and sharp turns… but you only really get nitro for ramming into other cars.
#Flatout 4 track list driver#
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity Fun Racer with no balance Flatout 4 is an arcade racer that’s fun to play, with great track design, but broken FlatOut 4: Total Insanity Fun Racer with no balance Flatout 4 is an arcade racer that’s fun to play, with great track design, but broken rules and broken multiplayer… There’s a career mode here where you take place in racing cups, speed trials, and arena battles… Winning races and destroying opponents will earn you cash to buy better cars or upgrade your current car… The only problem is the payout is far too low… A low payout mixed with unbalanced rules makes getting through this career mode a drag… There is way too much emphasis on the total insanity aspect of this game… There’s a derby cup, classic, and all-star, but the rules remain the same unbalanced mess… You aren’t rewarded for being a flawless driver like let’s be honest.
Physical newsstand issue first, digital remaster second, and my personal edit last. Market release corner box edited back in and colors corrected; first two versions for comparison. Marvel’s remaster artists work hard, but unfortunately with older pieces it's easier to wind up with dull, desaturated colors.

You and Bucky have been in a relationship for 3 years now. Some will say that’s not a long period but for both of you. These 3 years were the most important years of your lives. During these years, you and he experienced many even too many bad and good moments. Of course, the good ones were never enough but the bad ones… They were haunting you. They were everywhere you went. You lost Tony, Natasha, Clint, and even Loki. Thor went underground. However, you had Bucky. He was always there for you. To ashore you, to provide you with comfort, to keep the bad dreams away from so you could sleep at night.
Now here you are sitting with Bucky in the compound waiting for Steve and Sam to meet you. They told you there was a new thread to the world and its people and they desperately needed your help. You were somewhat nervous, Bucky felt it and put his hand on your tight squeezing it in assurance.
'‘It’s going to be okay. Nothing we haven’t done before.’' He looked you in the eyes and God you thought you lost yourself in them for a second. They were blue, that kind of blue in the sky during a picnic.
'‘I know. I just have a strange feeling about it.’' You smiled nervously at him.
Steve and Sam entered the room. They both seemed worried. What could make ones of the strongest people you know worried? The situation wasn’t pink.
'‘We have a new mission. A new villain is coming soon to the city. They call him Nitro. He is a living bomb. He can make his body explode like a TNT and can get his body back piece by piece.’' Steve told you. You and Bucky were shocked. Was that even possible? Your powers were strong but making your body exploded without killing you that was insane.
'‘Where do we start?’' You said while standing up and going to grab your gear.
You were in the quinjet sitting completely out of your mind. Your hands were shaking and you felt like throwing up. Why did this person Nitro make you feel so anxious? You haven’t even met him yet. Bucky has worried about you. You could see it in his eyes. Eyes filled with worry and concern. Was it a good decision to bring you here with him? Was Steve right to ask you for help? No, he couldn’t think about this right now. He reached out and grabbed your hand. He brought it to his mouth and kiss the back of it. You slowly turned to him and he looked you straight in the eyes.
'‘Baby I know you have a bad feeling about this but I’m with you. I won’t leave your side on the battlefield. I love you, Y/N.’' Bucky told you sweetly. The love that radiated from his words could be felt in miles.
'‘I know Buck and I love you too with all of my heart.'’ You leaned closer to his body and gave him a quick kiss on his soft pinkish lips.
You were running. You were running for dear life. Steve never knew that Nitro could run that fast not like Pietro but still faster than you could. You ran and ran. You lost Bucky in the action but when you reached a large room something like a laboratory, you saw him on his knees.
''Bucky! God are you okay? Do you have any injuries?'' Your eyes scanned him searching for any sign of blood but nothing caught your eyes.
'‘No, no. I’m okay I just ran so fast.’' He looked at you with and his eyes trembling.
You hugged him. He felt warm and safe. You could stay like this forever but then you heard his voice. Nitro.
'‘Oh, love birds look around you sweeties.’' He said with a large smile on this face.
You and Bucky looked around the room. Probably 20 little timers lighted up the room. Bombs. You were surrounded by real bombs and a person who can make himself explode. You had to make a decision. Now or never.
'‘Bucky… Look at me. Go, you still can make it. I will distract him. Just go, please Bucky.’' You tried to hold back your tears but how was impossible.
'‘No, I won’t go anywhere without you baby.’ He helps you tight. ‘I can’t lose you, Y/N. Do you understand? I won’t be able to move on, baby. I won’t be able to love nobody else. If you go, won’t you take me with you? Don’t leave me alone.’' Bucky begged you. He truly loved you. He loved you, your personality, the way you looked in your cute flower pattern dresses, the way you laughed at him when he was using his phone. You took his hands and placed them on your cheeks. The kiss was soft and salty but it was filled with all your love and affection you two had for each other. It felt like you were preparing for this moment through these 3 years spent with him.
'‘Steve grab Sam and get as far as you can.’' You cried through the earpiece.
The timers started ticking.
'‘I love you, Bucky.’'
'‘I love you, Y/N. I should have made you my wife before this.’' Through your tears, his lips found yours and everything went dark. Forever.
*epilogue*
Steve was looking at the two gravestones. His best friend and his teammate both sacrificed themselves to save him and Sam. Gone forever.
'‘I miss them too Steve.’' Sam approached carefully to where Steve was standing.
'‘I can’t believe Y/N lies here. She deserves to be somewhere warm, on a hilltop maybe. Next to the sky where she always belonged. I miss her smile and I miss my best friend.’' Tears were streaming down Steve’s cheeks.
'‘I know. I can’t believe it’s been one year since then. The kids always ask what happened to aunt Y/N and uncle James. How can I tell them that they will never come back?’' Sam places his head in his palms.
'‘At least nothing can separate them now. They were together, they died together and they belong together. I hope they are happy wherever they are now.’' Steve looked at Sam and placed the flowers next to Bucky’s and your grave.
'‘You will always be remembered. Rest in peace friends.’' Sam and Steve said in one voice, turned around, and walked out to their new mission.
[ EXCERPTS from Marvel’s Wolverine: Inside the World of the Living Weapon text. ]
It’s probably his most powerful weapon. Wolverine was born a mutant, possessing an enhanced X gene in his genetic makeup. Like most of his kind, his abilities were triggered during his adolescence. From that moment forward, Logan has found his body has the amazing ability to recover from most any wound. When combined with his unbreakable adamantium skeleton, he becomes almost indestructible, and has proven over the years that he’s able to bounce back from any injury, given time for his body to knit itself back together
Wolverine’s body is able to grow back damaged tissue, fight off disease and infection at a rapid rate, retard the normal human aging process, and quickly battle most poisons and drugs. It has also been theorized that some of Wolverine’s most traumatic memories have been eradicated by this same mutant ability, in an attempt by his body to protect his mental health.
During the Civil War, Wolverine was turned into a fireball by Nitro, but he emerged with only slightly singed hair.
Both Wolverine and Sabretooth possess the uncanny mutant power to heal both muscle and skin tissue, an ability that only serves to prolong their violent clashes.
10 things Wolverine has survived.
“I got no problem with pain. Me and pain are old friends.”
Logan proved just how bulletproof he was when he received a gunshot in the forehead while facing off against a Japanese crime family.
Fighting alongside the Silver Samurai, Wolverine once had the majority of his skin burnt in an explosion and his adamantium skull partially exposed.
Wolverine’s body was sent into shock when Magneto ripped out the adamantium metal coating his skeleton. Logan just barely pulled through the trauma.
When fighting the anti-hero the Punisher, Wolverine was run over by a steamroller but still managed to survive.
While partnering with Dareedvil and Spider-Man, Logan was shot by a bazooka but lived to fight again.
After escaping a Japanese prison camp near the end of World War II, Wolverine recovered despite being trapped in the nuclear blast in Hiroshima.
Logan was left for dead after being blown up by a bomb by an agent of the terrorist organization known as Scimitar.
Wolverine once deliberately set off an explosion in a car he was in so, as a supposed corpse, he would be carried behind enemy lines unnoticed.
Trapped on an asteroid headed for the sun, Logan opened a hatch and exposed himself to the star. Badly burned, he was saved by Phoenix.
Caught in an artificial nuclear explosion caused by the villain Nitro, Wolverine’s adamantium-enhanced skeleton was forced to heal itself from scratch.
THE NEW DEAL.
But there are some injuries even a mutant healing factor can’t mend. When Wolverine pushes himself past the limits of his regeneration abilities, he finds himself in a limbo of sorts; facing off against Lazaer, the angel of death. Only by winning these duels can Logan continue to return to the land of the living. Recently Wolverine struck up a bargain with Lazaer in order to regain a piece of his soul. In exchange, not only is Logan’s healing factor less powerful, but now he can no longer return from the dead.
