Celebrate rainbows? As in natural rainbows in the sky? Well, I'm afraid this suggestion feels quite vague to me. Though you do sound quite excited about this possible event! As the kind and generous headmage I am, I'll let you completely plan out the event! As long as it doesn't cost me a single thaumark and you're willing to do all the work, I'll gladly let you host a rainbow event yourself!
Perhaps you should let me look over the event details to make sure there won't be anything dangerous... actually, send the details to one of the ghost janitors! I'm sure they'll have the proper judgement to decide if anything could cause any legal issues along with helping set up the event!
Oh! You may want to ask Professor Crewel for some help with what types of rainbow clothes everyone could wear. I rather he not chew me out if anyone's outfits end up clashing terribly.

Welcome to our rp discord server - Magic Academy -
Rosedale. A beautiful portside town whis population is just under 3,000 people is next up and coming city. With a forest to one side, and the ocean on the other, beauty is covers every inch of this wonderland of a place. However, that's not even the most *magical* part.
For centuries, Rosedale had been a hot spot for those on the magical side of things. From dragon born sorcerers to witch's with black cat Familiars, Rosedale has attracted them all.
So it came to no surprise when the founding members of a magic society build the building blocks of the academy.
The Academy has been a gathering place for all creatures since the early years. Everyone is welcome. Student. And teacher.
What we offer:
- 18+ server. We are mostly in our early to 20s so those with the same age range are welcome.

What went down in TWST rp in a week-

This week was ok ish…
NRC therapist and Gardening club seems to be planning something against Mrs. Rosehearts…
NRC Newspaper club has a new member called, Atlas, seeming to be an unofficial prophet for NRC, thanks to his Unique Magic.
There is a Dance Club at NRC now-
One of the hosts and the host club seem to have a questionable draft that was soon posted by another host. I’m looking at you 🪞⚜️.
NRC Host Club has now a menu of food, with the one of them being uhm a very clever name for it!
NRC cooking club made a disgusting salad that I cannot describe…
NRC allows students to have tazer if worn correctly…
Another race is happening between Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College. And there is a poll which school is going to win, some students at NRC are rigging the poll.
Both of RSA and NRC Cleaning club have log entries.
Che’nya is at it with the invisible boop towards the boys.
Some of the boys’ future children are throwing powder ball at them, for no apparent reasons???
The Diasomnia gossip account seems to be telling all the juicy stuff that happens in Diasomnia- wait does Malleus even know this exists?

your tags on my ea gale clip sum up really well something i've been thinking about for a while now! even on full release, it seems to me like a big part of the hate gale gets stems from people's insecurity; he kind of disrupts this power fantasy some people seem to desire where they have to be the most cool and capable person on the team. gale is more knowledgeable than the player about certain magic-related things, was very powerful before being tadpoled, has a close association with a goddess, etc. and he isn't exactly humble or shy about boasting about his magic skills. so then a lot of people instantly get defensive over their own character's capabilities and dislike him because of that. that's what i think, anyway.
i couldn't agree more, really!
it's strange to see just how much larian has toned down this aspect of gale from early access to full release to the point of changing his introduction scene entirely from being extremely capable and saving himself to being a damsel in distress (with the added bonus of adding in even more options to kill him than there were in early access, which is yet another can of worms entirely imo, esp considering that they removed a perfectly valid rp option for a certain companion on a certain beach).
i'm not saying i don't like the new introduction scene. i do! it's sweet, it's very cute, but it's also very, very different and i think we can make a fair assumption as to why it was changed.
it doesn't seem to have helped much tho because even now people have an issue with the fact that a wizard prodigy, graduate of blackstaff academy, mentee of elminster, archwizard of waterdeep and (ex) chosen of mystra knows more about magic and other related academic pursuits than they do/their player character does.
be it asking them if they're versed in magic, which is still clearly done to suss out if he found someone capable of dealing with the orb, or the amount of times i've seen people either peacock or complain about the cleansing of the ritual circle in balthazar's room.
again, it's just so weird to me, personally, considering gale makes it clear that dealing with such dark magic was his bread and butter as a chosen. it's natural he would see himself as most qualified to ensure it's safely rendered inert.
it's not bratty, it's not arrogant, it's not bullying, it's not talking down to you or your character.
it's simply a fact.

ALEXIS GETTY & SAM COLLINS
I think what appalls me is that people scale over these crucial details when defending Alexis' actions against Sam. It has me scratching the crown of my head every time. By all means, say what you will about her, but do not proceed to tell people they are in the wrong for having opposing views toward Alexis, specifically speaking with the audience on Tiktok.
Now to start, in the seventh video of the Vampire Mate series, Audio RP| Getting Closer to Your Vampire Mate, Sam states, “She (Alexis) and I were friends of the sort back when I was still human. The kind of friends that don’t do much talking when they’re together if you catch my drift. I didn’t want anything more than that and she kept saying she felt the same.” [8:01 secs - 8:30 secs]
Sam stated clearly that both he and Alexis had a mutual understanding of their relationship and that it would be nothing more than sexual. Thus, Sam never wanted and never saw an eternity with Alexis, nor was he willing to make that sacrifice.
“A friends-with-benefits (FWB) relationship is one in which two people are physically (sexually) intimate with one another, yet they’re not committed to each other in any way. People involved in a friends-with-benefits relationship enjoy spending time together, but their relationship isn’t romantic and has no strings attached.” said Lloyd, Stacy Laura in the article “What Does Friends With Benefits Mean and Is It the Arrangement for You?” in Brides, 26 Sept. 2022,
Sam was incredibly passionate about being a healer. In the Redacted ASMR Timeline in 1999, Erik explains, “Sam starts coursework part-time at the Dahlia Academy for Magical Novices, pursuing certification in Healing.” And then in 2003, “Sam graduates from D.A.M.N. with his certification in Healing and begins work in the field.” With this, we have knowledge that not only was Sam exceedingly diligent, but was also greatly motivated in his studies.
In D.A.M.N., it's not outlandish to assume that they learned about all different types of species and magics, one of which included vampires. In Audio RP| Getting Closer to Your Vampire Mate, Sam says, “ […] I told Alexis I could do it, but she starts talking about turning me. And I told her no. I said I can do this and even if I can’t, I don’t want that. I don’t want to live like that […]” From this, it’s not unlikely to assume that Sam had a general idea of vampirism and knowledge about turnings. It was also likely he had several vampires as his patients during his work as a healer. Furthermore, he knew if he was turned, the healing magic that he adamantly cherished and enjoyed, would diminish tenfold and would have to be learned once again. “[...] I was a healer. Damn good one. One of the best.” Sam explains [12:20 secs - 12:28 secs]
Sam was at peace with being human. He understood that becoming a vampire meant solitude and the inability to take satisfaction in minuscule things in life as he used to.
Taking a step back, in Inversion| The Void They Leave Behind, Lovely’s life source has been stripped away by Shades which leaves them in a grave condition. Because healing is unable to penetrate what's been done to their core, Vincent is left with the tough decision of turning them. He says, “[...] Do you want this? It’s forever. I love you and I will spend eternity at your side if you let me. But I won’t do this unless it’s what you want. It would be a new life.” [31:44 secs - 32:17 secs] From this we can gather Alexis, a much older vampire and under the teachings of William, had exceptional knowledge of the extent of turning someone, the consequences of doing so without consent, and, even more so, knew this very fact when she and Sam got into that dire accident that also left him with life-threatening injuries.
Back to Audio RP| Getting Closer to Your Vampire Mate, Sam tells Darlin’, “[...] She starts grabbing my head, tilting it to the side, telling me she’s gonna make it all better, and I told her no. Pushed her hands. She was too…” [13:25 secs - 13:52 secs] Sam not only verbally told Alexis that he didn’t want to be turned, but physically too. Physically tried to shove her away. Later, he also tells them, “She made me look her in the eye and dug her nails into my skin so my eyes snapped open so she could trance me, and then she turned me.” [14:31 secs - 14:48 secs]
Again, in Inversion| The Void They Leave Behind, Sam says, “Your body knows how, Vincent. Blood for blood.” And then Vincent responds, “Blood for blood.” [32:48 secs - 33:00 secs] This alone makes me feel even more unsettled and quite frankly sickened by Sam’s turning because not only did she drink from him, but she deliberately forced him to drink her blood.
Most of what I’ve seen on the defense of Alexis has not only made it seem that Sam’s suffering and trauma from his circumstance should be disregarded, but has made it seem she should be forgiven for her horrid actions and, frankly, crimes against him and his bodily integrity. Forgiveness is offered not owed, nor is it to be expected under any occasion.
That is all I have to say.

speaking of jasmine bhullar, she and brennan had a great convo about min-maxers and i was wondering what your own thoughts on min-maxing were? i'm new-ish to actually playing dnd and i still worry about making myself a problem to the dm as opposed to an asset.
First off as someone who enjoys Adventuring Academy but never has the time to watch the full episodes, thank you for bringing this up - I watched just the debate, and it was incredible and hilarious.
This is a good question. I am 100% in agreement with Jasmine here and she said it better than I could: min-maxing simply means that you read the rules to D&D and decided to use them to your advantage. Reading the rules to D&D is great and everyone should do it (in fact, this a reliable way to be an asset to the DM: know how your character's abilities work). There are a few cases where it sucks but most of those aren't actually due to min-maxing so much as shitty player behaviors that can occur in min-maxers.
I think one reason people dislike min-maxers is that the stereotypical min-maxer builds a character who truly can't do anything except for massive damage, and that does kind of suck, but I also think that that is really hard to build in 5e. You're going to have some other abilities. I think it was much easier to truly min-max in 3.5e, and perhaps in older editions you could really break things (in fact, having listened to some pathfinder 1e actual plays, I know you could).
There is also, as Jasmine points out, a false assumption that min-maxers aren't interested in RP or won't do it. This is very clearly untrue and a few examples off the top of my head from Actual Play that are debatably min-maxed are: Deadeye Cybin (played by Brennan, natch) in NADDPod (damage dealer); Laerryn Coramar-Seelie of EXU Calamity (optimized for survival, especially against non-magical foes); Caduceus Clay and Deanna Leimert of Critical Role (both optimized to be healers, incidentally); Orym and Vex, also of Critical Role (optimized to have a stupidly high perception score), Theo Gumbar of A Crown of Candy (optimized to tank and have a stupidly high AC). These are all fantastic characters with profound RP scenes who happen to also be really, really good at a narrow band of things, but they're also not just good at that. Many of them also can serve as the brains or the face of their party; many have utility spells far beyond their area of specialization.
Another reason people dislike min-maxers is they have a reputation for being ungenerous - for swooping in and stealing the spotlight. The above characters, played by some of the most generous people in actual play, show that's clearly not the case. Also, to be honest, a spotlight hog doesn't have to be min-maxed. It's just a shitty "hey, hey look at me" player. I think attention hogs might be a bit more inclined to try to build a character who is really really good at something (again, usually damage more than say, healing) but that doesn't mean that everyone who builds a gunslinger is here to steal all the glory.
Specialization also isn't bad! The reason D&D is a game where people are in a party is because not everyone can do everything! There are a small handful of characters who are a utility knife who can basically do a little bit of almost everything (Keyleth, Fjord, Moonshine) but they are the exception rather than the rule. Barbarians, for example, are a class that usually is structured around tanking and doing damage. This is fine! You probably don't want a party that's all barbarians because it is useful to have healers and ranged attackers and people who can sink all their high stat rolls into the mental side of things because they don't live and die quite so much by their physical stats, but it sure is nice to have a barbarian in the mix to balance out the glass cannon wizard, isn't it?
If you show up to a table where there is a clear gap in party composition (eg: healing) or there's a clear story the GM wants to tell (eg: very social, requires a lot of diplomacy) and you decide not to fill it because you are too busy building Guy With Stealth Bonus of +20, then that's a problem, but that's ultimately a failure to collaborate. Min-maxing for something that doesn't really help the party is simply the way in which you happened to fail that compromise.
I'm sure there are edge-case, dark corners of D&D Reddit builds that do suck, but honestly most of them suck in that they are actually not good (eg: coffeelock). Your typical case of dumping one stat to max out on another? totally normal, totally cool.
Anyway to get to the part of your question regarding not being a problem: you probably aren't! You're thinking about how to not be a problem to your DM, which people who are problems tend not to do. However, the big takeaways of the above are 1. read the rules of your character and 2. build a character who fits into the world. In the session zero, build a character who has a reason to be doing the things the DM outlines in broad strokes, and who complements the other PCs. If you do that, then it doesn't matter if you min-max or not.
