[excerpt]
She woke up first, her internal clock set to the ass crack of dawn due to years of early morning swim meets. Usually she’d greet an early morning like this with a middle finger and a groan as she buried herself back into the abyss of her covers. But today, she was kind of glad she woke up early.
After all, how often was it that she actually got to see Tomura Shigaraki asleep in her bed?
It was a shame that he had so much trouble sleeping — for a lot of reasons of course — but right now, she couldn’t help but think it was especially tragic due to how cute he looked asleep. The handsome details of his face, that were typically so hidden by his anger — those long lashes, full lips, well-defined jawline, and of course that wonderful little beauty mark — they were glowing now under the soft light slipping through her curtains. He was so at peace, not a furrow in his brow or a frown line in sight. So natural, hugged by her valley of fluffy pillows and blankets. Surrounded by comfort.
She decided to take the risk of moving some of his hair out of his face, those surprisingly soft locks curling delightfully around her fingers. The palm of her hand brushed against the skin of his cheek, awakening her to another discovery. The skin around his cheekbones was actually surprisingly soft, not dry and crusted like she’d always assumed. Just raised from the scarring, from a lifetime of self-abuse.
It was incredible to think about. In just a day, so many of her preconceived notions about Shigaraki — the texture of his skin, the idea that he’d never apologize, the selfishness she so deeply associated with him — it was all proven so incredibly wrong. And it had her realizing just how little she truly knew about Tomura Shigaraki.
And how excited she was to learn.
He stirred awake then, and she found a brand new favorite look on him. His dazed, dreamy expression as he slowly came into consciousness. Eyes fluttering open, lips smacking gently to regain some moisture. A moment of disoriented wonder as he recognized that he wasn’t in his own room. But then a contentedness settled in its place as he realized that he was more than okay with the room that he was in. He happily buried himself back into the bed as he found some still half-asleep comfort in the covers.
She smiled, burying herself back under the covers with him, nuzzling her forehead just inches away from his own.
“Sleep well?”
“Yeah…” he breathed, dreamily.
Then suddenly his eyes snapped wide open, the realization hitting him hard. He shot up to a sit with a speed that made her jump a little.
“Woah! What’s wrong?” she asked, sitting up to meet him.
“What time is it?”
“Huh? Well uh…” she took a quick look at her phone, “Like 6:30?”
He looked down at the covers, at himself in the covers, and really just tried to take that in.
“We… slept through the night?”
She smiled a little sadly at the utter disbelief in his voice. The idea that sleeping through the night was not normal for him.
“Yeah,” she said, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “Yeah, we did.”
Shigaraki looked back at her, and sobered from his shock quickly as he took something else in from the situation. They’d had sex last night. No, not just sex. If there was such a thing as making love, Shigaraki couldn’t believe it was anything else then what they’d done. They’d shared their feelings (however indirectly). Shared sacred details of their pasts. Held each other close and then fell asleep in each other’s arms. What they’d done together last night was different than anything else before. It was real. It was something they had to talk about.
But that neither was really ready to.
His sense of security and comfort went as soon as it came when he realized that.
God, what the fuck had he done?

He always was a pain in the ass when you talked about touching him, as a skin to skin contact. His quirk made it insanely difficult to enjoy such a closeness with the most important person of his life. Your love for him made you want to face any difficulties to be closer than ever to him. But on the contrary, his love for you made him totally terrified at the atrocious idea of reducing you to ashes. Though it was undeniable, you needed him and he needed you. Quite a lot actually. You two were just so horny and fucking everyone could see through your games.
All that pent up desire made an idea grow in your horny mind. Slowly you made your way to your boyfriend who was deep in thoughts, sitting at his desk. You slided on his lap as if nothing while he just looked at you with an inquiring look.
“Shhh let me just-” you started but he cut you off.
“What do you think you’re doing ?” he asked as he felt you slowly rocking your hips against his.
“Making up for lost times” your hands gripped his shoulders for support as you slowly picked up your pace.
“I’ve already told you we couldn’t. No yet-” his gloved hands found purchase at your hips
“Don’t worry I’ve got an idea”
“Like what ?” he continued, it would have been a lie to say he wasn't interested in what you were going to do.
“We are going to do it. But clothes stay on, so that your quirk can’t be a problem anymore” you cheer with a smile. You hope that this time he isn’t going to tell you it’s still too risky, like that one time you told him he could still fuck you with his 3 fingered gloves on.
For a brief moment he looked like he was entranced by the idea, after all he was growing pretty hard under you, but then “This is completely stupid, besides I was working”
Something in the back of your head told you he was going to react like this, and it was fine for him to be worried but you had enough fooling around and you knew him too “I’m sure Dabi wouldn’t have minded” you stated, knowing you were pushing his buttons.
And you had the expected reaction.
In a split second, his fingers tightened their grip around you, forcing you back against his hard clothed member "Are you fucking kidding me ?!?" he almost growled "You're mine. Don't ever forget that"
His arms took up the previous movement of your hips as he brought you back and pushed you along his erection. Gosh, he could feel the heat coming off it with every stroke. He loved the way you moaned against his chest as he nibbled on the shell of your ear "I'll find a way" he breathed heavily "Trust me I will. And I'll make you mine in every way possible"
He may have been inexperienced, but just the fairness of rubbing yourself on him like that made the knot in your stomach tighten. Besides you were so needy, the task was going to be easier. But just as you thought it was going to end like that, he carried you in his arms, your legs still around him, as your centers remained in contact despite the barrier of clothes. He lowered you onto the bed behind him and laid you on it, before pinning you against the mattress.
His hips worked as if they'd always known this rhythm. His speed accelerated, he knew he'd end up cumming in his briefs, but gosh, he didn't care at the time. His body convulsed as he reached the point of no return. He felt his balls tighten before releasing and cumming in his pants, with a guttural moan.
His face found its way in the crook of your neck as he tried to catch his breath. Fingers mindlessly traced patterns on his back as his body relaxed against yours. Now he was going to rest, then change and quickly go see Kurogiri to come up with a plan that would allow him to do this again but in a way that wasn't threatening to you. Fuck, if it was that good, he can't even imagine what it would be like to be deep inside you, feeling you tighten around him as you juices coat his cock.
Just the thought of it is making him hard again. And... he's rutting against you again. Well maybe talking to Kurogiri can wait a little bit more.

I have a little comfort idea? What if Dabi, Spinner and Shigaraki (separately) comforts there S/O who gets claustrophobic, and starts to have a panic attack so they calm reader down by pulling them into a hug telling reader that, as long as they’re in their arms they will always be safe. (or say something sweet like that)
A/n: I hope this suits your taste! Please don't be afraid to ask for something else if it doesn't <3

Dabi:
"Looks like it's just you and me." Dabi grinned, most of his body pressed against yours. He didn't seem to notice you're panic. "Any ideas on what to do, Sweetcheeks?"
Your breathing quickened, and your hands started to tremble. You squeezed your eyes shut, but it didn't seem to help.
"Doll?" Dabi finally seemed to notice something was wrong. "I'm not going to force you into anything.. you know that, right?"
You nodded your head, your lip trembling.
"What's wrong Sweetheart?" Dabi asked, dropping his flirtasious tone. He wriggled around so he could face you better, the walls pressing against you both.
"I-I'm.." you pressed your head into Dabi's chest, trying to clam down.
"Doll?" Dabi asked softly, stroking your hair.
"I'm claustrophobic.. and it's really bad.." you whisper, tears in your eyes.
"Oh baby.." Dabi sighed, stroking your hair comfortingly.
"I-I know it's dumb but-"
"It's not dumb. It's okay, you don't need to explain. Just let your favorite person comfort you." Dabi murmurs softly, rubbing his hands up and down your back.
"Thanks.. you truly are the best."
The walls started to shrink, causing you to panic. Tears streamed down your face as you and Dabi got pressed against each other.
"Hey hey don't panic, it's okay!" Dabi stressed, looking around for a way out.
The panic in his own voice only made your panic worse, you started freaking out, tears streaming down your face.
Dabi hugged you tightly, whispering sweet things in your ear. You tried to focus on him, but it wasn't really working. Just as you felt like you were going to completely break down the constricting stopped. Dabi continued to whisper in your ear, moving his eyes around to try and figure out what was going on.
Seconds later the small room suddenly turned into dust, falling to the ground. Fresh air hit you and you sobbed in relief, still clinging onto Dabi. Shigarki raised his eyebrow, and opened his mouth to comment.
Dabi sent him a menacing glare, and he changed his mind. Shrugging, Shigarki walked off.
After calming down, you and Dabi got up to get back to the base. Looking around, the hero that trapped you in the first place was no where in sight. She also must have been dusted. You sighed again.
"Thank you, my love." You whisper, causing Dabi to smirk.
"No problem Sweetcheeks." He slung his arm around your shoulders in a protecive manner as the two of you walked down the street. After a while he looked down at you, smirking.
"What?" You giggle, admiring his goregous eyes.
"Ah nothin'." His smirk grew as he looked away.
You found yourself entranced by Dabi's face and eyes as you walk, unable to look away. After a few minutes he caught you, raising an eyebrow cockily.
"I could stare at you forever.." you murmur, still entranced.
Dabi chuckled. After a few more minutes he leaned down to whisper in your ear. "Creep."
You huff, pouting up at Dabi. Dabi chuckled again, playfully squishing your cheeks. "Don't worry Sweetcheeks. You're not just any creep.. you're my creep."

Spinner:
You immediately started having a panic attack when Shigarki mentioned that the entire league was going to go on a road trip.. in one vehichle.
You immedietly tried to hint at your phobia to Shigarki but he either didn't get it or didn't care.. or both.
After a while of arguing he got dangerously angry, meaning that you had to back down or else you might lose your arm.. or your life.
You walked out of the room, searching for Spinner. The two of you had a close bond, and you had a huge crush on him. You just didn't know how to tell him.
After a few short minutes you found him on the couch, playing a video game. You immedietly moved to his side, resting your head against his shoulder.
"You alright?" Spinner asked, pausing his game. His scaly cheeks turned a slight pink as he felt your head against him.
"No." You whisper.
"Why not?"
"Do you remember my phobia?"
"Yes, I remember.."
"Well the entire league is gong to have to be in one vehicle.. and Shigarki won't let me out of it.."
Spinner's face softned. "Can I hug you?"
You nodded, and Spinner gently wrapped his arms around you, is cheeks turning a slight shade of pink as he rests his chin against your head. "It's okay.. I'll help you."
"How?" You start to get emotional, holding onto him tighter.
"I'll find a way to get you up front.. where you won't have to be touching anyone."
As you hugged Spinner tighter he felt his cheeks get warmer and warmer. "Alright?"
"Okay.. I think that will help.. can you sit behind me?"
"Of course.. don't worry. You'll be okay."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Tumblr media
Shigaraki Tomura:
You were walking behind Shigarki, your hands shaking as people walked around you, pressing against you quite often. You were tempted to take his hand, but the two of you had gotten into an arugment before you left and he was visibly still angry...
A woman pushed into you, causing your anxiety to get worse.
"Hey watch it!" The woman yelled, pushing you back.
Before you could say or do anything Shigarki was standing right next to the woman, four fingers scratching at the woman's neck. "Don't ever talk to my girl like that again. You hear me?" He hissed in her ear, his fingernails drawing blood.
"Or else what?" The woman scoffed, completely unfazed.
"Or else I'll dust you. Limb by limb." Shigarki snarled, his fifth finger hanging just above the woman's skin.
"Like you could scare me-" when she recognized Shigarki's face she immedietly got quiet. "Y-yes sir.. I-I'm sorry.." she whispered, shaking slightly.
"Good." Shigarki growled, pushing her away. He then grabbed your waist, pulling you against him. "What's wrong with you?" He whispered in your ear, kissing your jaw aggesively; telling you that he loved you, but he was still angry.
"I-I'm claustrophobic.." you whisper back, tearing up as you felt bodies push into your own.
Shigarki growled protectively, moving his body closer around yours in a way where you would be touched less. "Why didn't you tell me!?"
"You were angry at me.." you whisper, your hand still shaking.
Shigarki's anger growed and he started to berate you, causing your panic attack to grow worse. When he realized what he was doing he immedietly softened, pulling you into a secluded area.
"My poor baby.. I'm sorry." He whispered, caressing your hair comfortingly.
You froze in shock at his apology. Shigarki was not the kind of man to apologize.
"You're.. sorry?"
"Yes. I'm sorry for our argument-" he kisses your forehead lovingly, "I'm sorry for not noticing your panic attack,-" he kisses both of your cheeks, "and I'm sorry for making it worse by berating you instead of comforitng you." He ends his speech by kissing your lips lovingly, pulling you against him.
After a few moments he pulls away, hugging you comfortingly.
"I forgive you. And I'm sorry for arguing as well, and I'm sorry for not telling you." You whisper agaisnt his warm chest.
Shigarki chuckles, pulling you in for another kiss.
After you pull away you giggle, kissing his nose."Would you like to go back home? Or do you still want to go meet up with the others?"
"It's your choice, honey."

My New Favorite Player (pt1?)
Tumblr media
(Art made by @dreamuchuu)
(Dabi has He/It pronouns and Y/N has they/she)
Today, someone is going to audition to have a spot the League. Dabi threw their information papers on my desk and walked out the room I sighed and started to examine them. Their name is Y/N L/N, they were female, very tall in height, Pronouns consisted of They/Them and She/Her and quirk was invisibility. And had dark red hair (probably not good for sneaking and hiding but if needed, they could dye it). They were very attractive, about my age they could use seduction if they really wanted, (they definitely had the looks to do so). I wrote it down and some side comments and thoughts. The recruit was coming in in about an hour Toga had told me she was excited to "have another girl in the family" I bet she was.
When we heard a pattern of knocking on our door we knew it was them we all got to position at our meeting table (yes it is planned) and stayed quiet while Dabi opened the back door. "Hello" "just get inside." Then we started to hear light footsteps but since they were so quiet I lost what direction but I was betting Dabi wasn't gonna show them around because he's him. The door creaked and we all turned to look she looked exactly like she did in the file photos. "Hello" "Hi! I'm Toga Himiko and this is my best friend Jin!" I face-palmed Toga over sharing info to a absolute compete stranger, "too much info Himiko..." I whispered harshly just for her to hear. "Sorry boss" she said with a shrug. Dabi and the recruit sat next to each other putting Y/N in the between us.
"The famous, Tomura Shigarki, this feels unreal to be sitting in a room with someone with such an impact on the world" "Tryna sweet talk him already Y/N?" Dabi teased while circling the ring of his glass filled with an unknown drink. "Heh he wishes, bit honestly I do admire you guys for everything you do" "What is it that we do Y/N?" I cut to the chase. "Well standing for what you believe in you probably had TONS of people thinking you were crazy and think deserved to go to jail and maybe still do. The death threats the name calling the drama and trag talk from the news channels and interviewers that you guys run from, it's nice you guys found each other to share your belief with instead of thinking it's only you thinking like that. And starting to think 'maybe I am crazy?' y'know?"
I was actually stunned by her response I instantly thought she had a place her but we can't be too trusting after the Hawks incident (Dabi still wears that red feather...). "Hm interesting Mrs L/N" "Truly touching!" Twice said wiping a fake tear still, wearing his mask while Toga was leaning her head on Jin's shoulder. Spinner was uninterested in the meeting he was just messing with his knives. Dabi has stopped with the glass thing and leaned back in it's chair, satisfied. Spinner whispered "boring.." "Hush! Tell us another one pretty lady!" Toga exclaims "Yeah another!" Twice agrees while nodding profusely. They freeze looking uncomfortable and nervous with this recently added pressure and attention put on them just now. "Hey it was just one question you can't win a game just by pushing one button once, you see how talented they are~ So, Y/N how far are you willing to go for this cause?"
She sighed and then spoke "erm well I don't have much to give for this or much to stay for really so the only thing I had left beliefs, stubbornness, and dignity, I took and basically ran with it put everything into those same beliefs only for people to think I was 'thinking too much about it' and that the "heroes" help us' and then I found y'all. I'm ready to sacrifice most for this, if not that I don't know what else." "Very very impressive answers" I praised. "Ugh this is just my favorite thing. Emotional and heartfelt things , right Toga?" Toga was actually tearing up trying to hold back her tears, emotional bastards. "You made Toga cry! I'll never forgive you.." Twice said dragging his finger across his throat threatening them "-Im just kidding! It's all good she'll be fine, swear!"
"Just cuz she is a professional speaker doesn't mean anything ahead saying is true or that she had guts" Spinner announces. "Yeahh...or strength, stealth, talent or fearless they could just be a loser with nothing better to do" Dabi chimes in. Toga frowns in disappointment and Twice face changes into a mean face "how do we know we can trust her?" Twice says hugging Toga's neck due to height difference. Everyone's still on edge due to our last betrayal but we helped each other keep calm, stay open, and trusting. "Hey hey don't dogpile on our fan~ We'll give them test based off what you think a recruit should need wether it be paper test or physical trial and error. Are you up for that new player?" She nodded "then that settles it new player waits here you set up the test for them they'll do them then she's in after a few weeks or months of caution just in case. They all got up and ran into the living room to start working on their test, "It might take them a while get comfortable" I said closing the door behind me.
After training her and realizing she had a long way to go but still a valuable asset she's was a LOV member. Not too long after everyone went back to our LOV base (of course we wouldn't take her to our actual home just to train we were definitely smarter than that) while I stayed behind with the new recruit. "When are you gonna retreat home back to YOUR base huh~?" She turned in one of the conference chairs towards me holding her information and my notes on it. "You say I have looks, about 2 to 3 times on this y'know?" She says waving the paper around. I look down in slight embarrassment, "Not flirting just figuring you out for this exact game and see if your a perfect fit to be a player in it." She looked me up and down with a certain look I had to admit it was making me feel something.
"I can be a player in your game" "what?" "nothing." She tossed the paper down and walked over to me; she traced little circles onto my collarbone. Then slowly went down until she landed at my chest. She the rested her palm on it and pressed lightly. I tried holding in my sighs of pleasure but I let out a shaky low breath.
This player to say the least was.... advanced.
She put her unoccupied hand next to me on the wall practically pinning me there. "When was the last time you experienced this before huh?" She said looking at me with a smirk. I tried replying but closed my mouth due to embarrassment. To be honest I haven't done this, ever being a full time villain on the run isn't easy and makes no time for romantic things like relationships; only quick sex and hook ups which I wasn't into. She hummed quietly while her hand reached farther down my stiff body untill she reached the top of my pants, "Do you wanna do this, Boss?"
"Do you think you can just seduce me and her in the league?" "Oh, already KNOW I'm in no matter what the rest think 1. You need more members and 2. I see the way you look at me and the thoughts about me and my skill. Maybe I do need more teaching but I'm great to have on your side and even the rest know that. I don't need to use my body to prove to you, OR anyone else I already know I'm very capable. Now do you wanna do this or not?"
I nodded feeling me droll for her and whatever she wants to do to me. My pants feeling tighter than when I had out them on. My heart was beating so fast I was so excited this..rush is addicting almost. "I-I think you might be my favorite player"
"I better be"
*maybe I could make a part two?😏*~FifiTheAuthor

Failure or success? Villain or hero?
I want to share with you the reflexion that I have about these questions, theses characters and these pictures. First question. Failure or success. Who fail and who success. Do you remember that they had the same dream? Becoming a hero... Well, in case of Shigaraki, he failed about his dream for fault of his father and also his family, but thanks to that get other dream according his life's experiences. And not only that, he became a model for other exclude or misunderstood people like Twice or Toga. Shigaraki is like a hero for them, so we could say that finally he fulfilled his dream.
Let's see Deku. He had the dream to be a hero too, but he failed at the begin because he hadn't a quirck. But by life things, he could show that not need a quirck to be a hero (saving at Bakugo). His best quirck is the ambition to save people. Also Shigaraki has a very good ambition for get his purposes. So finally Deku got the quirk of All Might, like a prize for his effort. For keeping the hope. So Deku also fulfilled his dream. For the other way, and in relation to the second question, Shigaraki got the quirk of All for one, as prize too, but for surveving in that society where no one understand him or all decline you for the kind of quirck that you have. Deku has the power to save other people and Shigaraki has the power to save hisself and save the exclude people. So who is the hero and who is the villain? I think that this is a great point of this anime, that's difficult to separate the good of the evil, as the real life. And is difficult too deciding who is a hero and who is a villain. Because the anime is on airing and we have could watch the death of one villain (no spoiler) and the anime show you with all the humanity and sadness, although to be a villain. Because actually that death hurts, that death isn't desirable and fair.
Finally, I just wanted to comment this pictures. In the first, Shigaraki is in the shadow, and Deku in the light. You know? Like symbolism of the evil and the good. Understable. And also Shigaraki is looking at the floor with a bit of fear and Deku is looking at him like try to help him or feeling bad for him. But in the second not. In the second, the two are in the light, face to face, looking each other, no fear, no sadness, no trying to help. And that's why now, they growed up and not only fisically. Shigaraki hasn't fear anymore, and Deku knows who is he up against. But why there isn't more shadow? Maybe because Shigaraki isn't hide anymore or maybe because...
The evil's and the good's side are the same.

Heavy is the Crown
Tumblr media
I’m too busy to play with you right now, Tomura.
Tomura glances back at his sensei one last time before closing the door with a somber click. He trudges down the stone halls, stopping by an open window to watch some of the local children throwing a ball back and forth below him. A loud, blond girl runs about beneath his window, ruffling the hair of an older boy. She runs away laughing and he takes off after her. Her happy, shrill laughter reaches Tomura’s ears, and his heart sinks.
You’re a prince, Tomura. You can’t just play with any ruffians.
He doesn’t want to be a prince. He wants to be a normal boy and play outside in the mud and get dirty. He sighs and begins meandering about the castle, trying his hardest not to get underfoot as he trails behind this servant and that one, yet he finds himself being shooed away by one person after another.
Tomura, stop bothering the help. They’re not your personal playthings.
It’s only when he finds Kurogiri that he stops wandering aimlessly. The man is so tall that Tomura has to strain his neck to meet those piercing, yellow eyes and yet, out of all the servants, Kurogiri has always frightened him the least. He’s not like the others. His black suit is always pressed and his tie straight. Tomura likes his coat tails. Sometimes if he’s in a crowd he tugs on them gently just to get Kurogiri to turn around while he giggles and runs the other way.
He’d always been different from the servants he supervised. He made time for Tomura – reading to him and helping him learn how to do things like tying his shoes and cut an apple without hurting himself. Still, the king’s words echo reproachfully in his ears, and he tries not to bother the man when he can see that there’s so much going on.
Tomura trails behind the servant as he strides about the castle, checking up the tasks of maids, butlers, and cooks; making sure that everything is in order before tonight’s dinner. Not wanting to be shooed away again, or worse, displease Kurogiri, the boy keeps his distance. He peeks around corners and hides whenever those yellow eyes glance over at him.
He stops at the end of a long hallway, watching as Kurogiri disappears into the kitchen. There’s nowhere to hide in there, so Tomura has to make a choice: find somewhere else to go or follow Kurogiri into the kitchen and risk being rejected again. He shifts his weight nervously, scratching idly at his neck before finally running down the hall and pushing open the heavy wooden door.
The scents of warm, baking bread and roasting meat fill his nostrils and he hums appreciatively before searching the kitchen for his target. Whatever is happening at tonight’s dinner, he knows there will surely be a feast. Kurogiri is across the room talking with one of the chefs when Tomura finally works up the courage to approach. The man runs the entire castle, and most of the servants don’t even dare approach him, but Tomura’s relationship with him has always been different.
Bright yellow eyes seem to smile down at him as he tugs on the man’s dark coattails. “I’m bored, Kurogiri.”
“Are you?” The man leans down and pats Tomura on the head. “I’m sorry to hear that. If you’ll–”
A sudden, loud clattering down the hall has Kurogiri rushing off before he can say another word and he glances back in time to see Tomura’s shoulders fall. There really is no one he can play with… He promises himself that he’ll come back for the boy once he’s made sure that no one is hurt and everything is still in order for tonight’s event.
When he reaches the dining room, he finds a large commotion of servants gathered around a massive, metal and glass chandelier that’s lying twisted and shattered on the floor in the center of the room. Once he’s made sure that no one was injured, he quickly delegates duties for cleaning up the mess and replacing the light fixture for tonight’s event before heading back to the kitchen.
Kurogiri knows how lonely Tomura must be, and if he weren’t so busy all the time, he would dedicate more time to the boy. It’s frustrating, knowing that Tomura should have been provided with a nanny, or other designated caretaker. Instead, the King had chosen to simply foist him upon his already overworked, head butler like the child was just another common task – as if Kurogiri didn’t already have enough on his plate and the boy didn’t need dedicated time and attention. Back at the kitchen, he finds the staff still bustling about in preparation, but Tomura is nowhere in sight. He can’t help but feel despondent at the thought of the boy sitting alone somewhere in the castle.
He takes his time, gathering the boy’s favorite snacks from the pantry, even cutting the crust off the sandwiches just as Tomura likes, before packing it all in a small basket and heading off to the library. The boy isn’t there, but then again, Kurogiri hadn’t really expected him to linger. He scours the shelves, running his fingers along dust-free spines before grabbing one of Tomura’s favorite books and then heading towards the usual hiding places.
Tomura’s room is empty, his bed still neatly made from this morning and his toys all sitting untouched in their bin. The boy’s bed is too big. The room is too small. His toys are random and not stimulating enough for a boy his age, almost as if no thought had been put into their purchase. Standing there, he can’t help but feel like this tiny room doesn’t belong here, almost as if Tomura doesn’t belong here.
He sighs as he closes the door behind him and walks down the nearly abandoned hall. The king had needed an heir, but it was painfully obvious to Kurogiri that he didn’t want one. The castle had always run efficiently with the king sitting at the head of the table and Kurogiri running things from behind a curtain and Tomura was like a tiny cog, out of place in this well-oiled machine.
The reading nook in the high tower is empty as well, and when he asks the young maid dusting there, she admits that she hasn’t seen him today. He checks near the old tree in the yard, searching not just the shade below, but the branches high above as well, before hurrying off towards the stables.
He tells himself that he’s not worried, that Tomura often takes off to find new places to hide, but when he’s searched the last of the usual places, Kurogiri does get worried. He stops each maid and servant he passes asking if they’ve seen the boy, and they all, fearfully, admit that they haven’t.
He stops near one of the upper windows and surveys the streets below. Surely, Tomura wouldn’t have taken off… The boy knows how angry that would make the king, how much trouble he’d be in when he was eventually forced to return. Still, Kurogiri shakes the thought from his head only with great effort. When he turns down the next hallway, his stride is quicker. He feels an odd, frantic feeling building in his chest. He’s run the castle like a well-oiled machine for years, managing the staff and helping to entertain royalty. Nothing has ever been above his talents, but right now Kurogiri is worried.
He knows he needs to be logical about this and so he takes a moment to compose himself. He straightens his tie and shirt and begins meticulously searching each hallway and storeroom from the first level of the castle upwards. Each cupboard, pantry and small storeroom he finds empty. He can feel the sweat beading down his spine as the desperation and worry in his heart grows and by the time he’s reached the servants’ quarters, he’s praying to every god he knows. He hopes that maybe Tomura had found some young scullery maid or kitchen boy to play with. He forces himself to slow down, to keep propriety and knock before entering the small, dingy rooms.
He shoves off the worried sounding questions from the servants as searches their quarters. It’s none of their business what he gets up to and he doesn’t dare reveal that Tomura is missing. One by one, he finds them all empty and that knot in the pit of his stomach continues to tighten. There are only a few rooms left to check before he must return to the king’s quarters and search there. He can only imagine the man’s rage if he finds out that Kurogiri had spent over two hours searching for his lost heir.
He knows that he’s too worked up and that even if he finds Tomura now, he’ll only scare the boy. He pauses just outside his own bedchamber and takes a deep, steadying breath. He follows it with two more slow breaths and then straightens his tie and his jacket again. He hadn’t realized how disheveled he’d let himself become until he’s running a hand though tangled, purple hair and smoothing it down. Tomura is here somewhere. He reminds himself that Tomura can’t just disappear. He’s still silently reassuring himself that there’s no way the boy would leave the castle when he hears a small sniffling sound.
Kurogiri presses his ear to the door of his bedchamber and listens until the sound reaches his ears again. Part of him can’t believe that Tomura had been hiding in his room this whole time, and yet the thought makes perfect sense. The boy had always seen him as a sort of safe haven, so why wouldn’t his room be comforting? When he opens the door, he finds Tomura curled up on the floor near the foot of his bed.
The boy seems even tinier in comparison to the massive bed frame he’s leaning against. His knees are scraped and dirty and his pale hair is disheveled and in need of brushing. When he looks up, his eyes are watery and his cheeks, tear stained. He scratches at his neck before tucking his head back down against his arms.
“Why did you run away when I left the kitchen?” Kurogiri sets the basket of goodies on the floor near Tomura, hoping the smell of food will entice the boy to open up to him.
Tomura shrugs his shoulders before burying his face back into his arms. “I thought you were too busy.”
“I’m never too busy for you, young prince.” Kurogiri sighs, and opens the food basket, hoping the smell of sweets will entice the boy to open up to him. “Where did you run off to?”
He grabs the brush off his nightstand and some gauze and antiseptic from his cupboard before sitting down on the floor in front of Tomura. He works diligently, cleaning and bandaging the small scrapes on the young prince’s knees and once he’s done, he waits. For a long moment, the boy doesn’t look at him and they’re forced to sit in the silence until Tomura finally relents and peeks out from behind his hair.
When Tomura looks up, his eyes are brimming with tears, and he suddenly climbs into the butler’s lap. “I went outside.”
He rubs small, slow circles on the boy’s back and tries to keep his tone level. After all, the boy has been so lonely that it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he’d sneak out and try to play with the local children. “And how did that go?”
“They called me weird and pushed me into the dirt.” Tomura wipes his nose on the back of his sleeve before looking up into bright, yellow eyes. “’M not weird.”
“No, you’re not. You’re a prince. And they don’t understand royalty.” Kurogiri reaches into the basket and pulls out one of Tomura’s favorite treats. “You must be hungry by now.”
Small hands reach out hesitantly, almost as if he expects the man to be angry with him. Kurogiri supposes that he should be. He’d spent the last few hours in a state of near panic, running around the castle frantically in search of the boy. But instead, he just feels grateful that he’d found the young prince safe and sound.
He sets the book in Tomura’s lap and watches as the boy flips to his favorite story before beginning the arduous task of combing through his disheveled hair. They sit like that for a long time, Tomura reading and Kurogiri brushing. He knows he has other duties around the castle, but right now the prince is his priority and he takes his time, making sure to gently work out each snag.
He’s almost finished when Tomura’s head tilts back and he’s pinned under the boy’s red gaze. “Do you promise?”
Kurogiri chuckles softly, maneuvering the boy’s head upright so he can finish brushing out the last knot. “Do I promise what?”
Tomura’s fingers fiddle with the corner of the book in his lap. “That you won’t ever be too busy for me?” This time, when Tomura looks up, Kurogiri meets his gaze with a soft smile. “I promise.”

The 'Great' MHA Read Along, Part Five (Chapters 22-44): The Mandatory Exploitive Tournament Arc
Been awhile, huh? Let's see if I can still pull this off. I'm warning you, this is probably going to have a bit of heft to it.
We start off people trying (and failing) to investigate Shigarki and the Villains and, first off, a couple of things. The whole, 'Quirk Registry' shit? Very X-Men. I'm... kinda mixed feelings on it. It makes sense for a government to try and keep track of this kind of shit, but at the same time it feels like a whole lot, you know? That said... the way the guy in the suit phrased it makes it seem like they only searched for 'Shigaraki/Disintegration' and 'Kurogiri/OP warping' pairings, which seems... dumb. Like, really dumb.
Are they.... are they not going to search for anyone with a similar Quirk? Because it sounds like there are other people with similar Quirks, so... what about them? Oh, this pale haired guy who mutters a lot about how horrible heroes are isn't named Shigaraki, so clearly this isn't the guy? Do some ground work or something, man, bloody hell.
*spits out drink*
Even All-Might thinks Shigaraki is a man-child, lol. Brutal. That said... Vlad goes, 'You mean he's just like a kid with a 'power' or something?!'
And I. My dude. You're just some guy with a power. It feels like some depersonalization of the 'villains' because, yeah, everyone in this story is, in fact, just some rando human, 99.9% of the time with super powers. I don't know, it just feels like that's this really concerning perspective for someone in authority to have.
'I keep forgetting this is an actual school!'
That. That's... actually really concerning? Everyone, literally everyone, from Aizawa, to the students, to the actual author, can't seem to figure out if UA is some military academy meant to pump out child soldiers, or an actual high school meant to prepare children to go into society. And not to belabor the point here, one I've talking about on and off again for awhile, but that's fucked up.
I can't help but get the impression that UA (and presumably every other hero academy) is some military complex, setting up the students to live a life where the only way they know how to live is through violence and trying to be famous, but it's just... pretending to have standards, pretending to care for the kids as anything more than the next generation of... idol-police, or something. The way every school related thing is so out of place, the way their grades are so unimportant... it's very telling.
And like. It's not a bad thing, per say. Morally bad, sure, but from a story telling perspective? For a story like this, the way the heroic's school is morally dubious is actually a really good plot point to work off of. But... that's the problem. It never happens.
If the setting was fucked up enough, it'd be understandable if it wasn't explored, but it's not. I feel like there's some fertile ground to talk about... how heroes don't know how to handle living normal lives. How to cook, clean, do taxes, hIstory (which is, of course, very loaded sort of topic in a more dystopian kind of a set up) and so on. There's no way they have the time and energy to do all the thing a normal kid should do at their age, and as they grow up, and get these dangerous, fucked up jobs? There has to be consequences to that.
And the next line later, they bring up, you know, a bunch of terrorists just attacked the school. Which is, in fact, a serious fucking concern! What does Aizawa say?
'No no, we're only doing because we're so sure we have this shit locked down.'
Spoiler alert: They did not, in fact, have this shit locked down. In the least.
My god, this is so fucked up. It's pretty clear that the fact this is still happening is because UA, and heroics as a whole, honestly, is doing a show of force to try and make all the bad things go away. In all honesty, they're putting these kids lives at risk; the only reason nothing went wrong isn't because 'the school had all its ducks in a row when it comes to crisis control' or what the fuck ever, but because AFO didn't want to do anything. And you know why he doesn't interfere?
Because it's so damn useful for him that they flat out broadcast the details of the students and what their Quirks are!
And don't even get me started on this 'Olympics have fallen out of favor' bullshit. It's a world wide event, and it doesn't matter if the population has... shrunk (? That's what my translation says, anyways. Is this honestly saying that so many people died that the Olympics no longer holds any attraction? I mean.. what? What the fuck? What happened???? Why in the hell is this getting brushed over?! Or is that just a bad translation, and if so what is he saying is the reason the Olympics no longer have any appeal?) or whatever, because that's just... bullshit. That's just bullshit. If super powers happen, and they get at all stabilized and regulated like they are in here, all that's going to happen is that the powers are going to be part of the Olympics, and a lower population count really isn't going to change the fundamental reasons why it's popular in the first place.
Speedster racing, various forms of competitive flying (racing (in all its variations), acrobatics, mid-air dancing, synchronized flying.... flight along has dozens of potential new Olympics sports, easy), something like shot-put hurling but with some kind of projectiles, fire, lasers, whatever? Oh yeah, the Olympics are going to be just fine.
So please, Hori, spare me your obsessive need to make heroics the most important thing EVAH all of the time.
But, wait, there's more! It's not just, the new super Olympics, oh no, this is for their careers. In high school. This is, apparenlty, a make or break moment for the rest of their lives (again, with however that undefined heroics ranking and what not works). How old are they? What, fifteen? 'Here, go do bloodsports, and if you fuck up, you're going to be a menial, loser fry-cook of a wannabe police officer, dressed in brightly colored spandex for the rest of your life, barely making any money, and never getting any real respect or validation for putting your life at risk'.
Oh, I have opinions on the Sports Festival, believe me, I have a lot of opinions, but I'd like to save at least some of these more for when the actual Sports Festival starts, and not, like, five pages into the first chapter out of what, twenty two? We've got the time.
Uraraka! You're an actual character! My, this is nostalgic. I always loved the contrast between her hyper cute-zied design of her and the fact she's down to beat the living shit out of someone at the drop of a hat, and it's nice to have that again.
(Also, she's showing more ability to inspire the class here than Bakugou has shown literally the entire series, no matter how much Hori goes on about his 'charisma' or whatever.)
And then we get into her "impure" motivations to be a hero, (which I've also talked about on occasion), and it's very humanizing, both for Uraraka as a character, and the industry as a whole. It's one of those great set ups Hori ended up dropping on world building, which sucks because it'd be so interesting if he got into the nuts and bolts of the world a bit. I'm not saying we need to see the tax code or anything, but for a series that's about corruption and what not, some more detail would really help pull all of this together.
Ah, Dumb Might. I didn't miss you, except I kind of did because Dumb Might is still better than Useless-Side-Character Might.
Also, can I talk about how stupid it is that Dumb Might is burning his less than an hour's worth of time 'teaching' students again? Because holy fuck that's such a waste it's honestly criminal.
And what the hell is this switch in motivations, here? All Might never mentioned, you know, replacing him is the Symbol of Peace before now. Before this point, the whole reason he chose Izuku is that he'd be worthy user of his power, not, what, replacing him. If Izuku never gained any real fame, but still managed to save a lot of people? Before-this-point All Might would have been fine with that. More than that, he would have been proud of it, proud his successor was humble and chose to focus on doing good rather than fame. Hell, not too long ago it was pointing out by All Might that Izuku wouldn't want to use All Might's fame to benefit himself, to go slow and steady and earn his success rather than relying on fame.
Where the fuck did this come from? What the fuck kind of pressure is he trying to put on this kid?
And then right after that, we see flashes of who All Might used to be with the whole 'don't forget how you felt at the seaside park, that day', bit. Because, like, that's good. That's great! It's real, and deep, and gritty, and I'd love it if it wasn't being use with this set up, because those expectations work in other shonens, but they don't work here. Izuku can't do what All Might did, because he can't stop damn hurting himself. Going Plus Ultra, here, now, for this? It could cause real, serious harm to him for the rest of his life! And for what? To make a good impression?
And if something would call him on that, it could still work, because All Might is canonly shit at taking care of himself, that could, like, close the circle for all of this, bring it together with the two them as shit at at self care as a place to build them improving off of, but for whatever reason, Hori never went all the way on that because he was too damn afraid to commit to it, commit to a story, commit to a theme, commit to a moral.
...Holy shit, how many pages is this? We haven't even gotten to actual Sports Festival yet in the post about the damn Sports Festival.
And now we have this creepy, kind of morbid mob of people filling the hallway to stare at Class 1-A for.... being attacked by terrorists.
*what the fuck.jpeg*
What is wrong with you people?! What the actual hell is wrong with you???
And then Shinso rolls up:
"Wow. Look at these arrogant assholes, so excited about not getting killed. I'm going to declare war on them, because they deserve it for getting all high and mighty."
...
You know, I completely forgot about the epic story of, 'Shinso Hitoshi and his Completely Unmerited Persecution Complex'. I'm sad that I remember that now.
Bakugou: "People's opinions don't matter once your at the top."
Me: *looks at how much people's opinions matter to getting to the top, and staying there*
Me: ...Uh.
Thank you, Kaminari, for pointing out his edgy bullshit is, in fact, actually bullshit, and is only going to make his life more difficult for no reason. I like you as an actual person who does things other than cheerlead for Bakugou.
Izuku. Izuku no, Izuku...! Damn it. Bad Izuku. Bad! Stop getting inspired by the festering waste spewing out of Bakugou's mouth!
Cue all of two panels of the media being absolute assholes only out to make ratings with no redeeming features.
And... here's the actual Sports Festival, god knows how long into this post later!
(if you believe the text editor I just posted all of this into? Well into four pages. ...Even with my generous use of spacing, I think I have a problem.)
..Wait. Wait. Where the hell is this happening?
*does five seconds of research on the wiki*
I'm right. They have a stadium for this. Like, a giant ass sports stadium that exists for this. Only for this. That is used once a year.
At this point, I'm honestly wondering why UA isn't just it's own city. Like, Izuku should have moved here, along with the rest of the students, and all the families and various staff needed to run this just.... live on site. It's not like it'd cost them anything, since they apparently have spare cities sitting around for the kids to trash.
That's... that's actually a really interesting idea? Because it'd be a hero run city, then, which feels like it'd work well into the over commercialized, corrupted state heroics is supposed to be like, their overwhelming level of influence. I don't think that's what Hori was going for, to be clear, I think he has no idea just how much space he's causally put on UA's campus and didn't think through the implications... at all.
Ooh, and here comes Todoroki's characterization.
And... here comes the bloodsport, because that's what all of this is: bloodsport. They're throwing a bunch of teenagers onto this stage, broadcast them to the entire country, and have them fight against each other for fame. This society is so fucked up.
Random Gen Ed kid: Yeah, he placed first in the Heroics Entance Exam.
...Yeah. As fucking stupid as it is that Bakugou somehow placed first, it does make sense the person who place first in the Heroics Entrance Exam would be class representative in a school for heroics. Damn, you're salty, kid, but you're also kinda dumb, not going to lie.
Bakugou: *opens his mouth on live TV*
Bakugou: *vomits diarrhea for the entire country to see*
Izuku: ...Wow, Bakugou's so cool! He's grown up and mature now!
...Izuku. Izuku, buddy, please, stop doing this to yourself.
As yet another thing I've mentioned before, a lot of our views on Bakugou comes from Izuku. Izuku who has, from chapter one, all but worshipped Bakugou. Even when he does things wrong, even when he's actively fighting against him, Izuku can't stop himself from going on and on about how great Bakugou is, how cool and tough and determined he is. Izuku's hero worship of his abuser is sheltering Bakugou's actions from the readers, papering over all of his worst traits with a a transparent facade that he's this glorious figure. It's the narrative going the extra mile to cover his arrogant ass, to make him seem like a rival instead of an bully, someone worthy of respect rather than contempt.
Hmm. I don't want to go too much into the nuts and bolts of the event, I think, since I've done that before, so let's try something else: How Many Times Could This Kill A Literal Child? Where I, you guessed it, count how many times a teenager could have been killed, on national television, in this event.
Count one: The start of the race itself, where... *counts how many kids are in 1-A, multiplies by eleven*... two hundred and twenty kids run forward at the same time, trying to force themselves through the same opening. This shit is why it's illegal to shout fire in a theater, because a stampede like this could get someone trampled to death, or maybe crushed by the sheer weight of the crowd (which is something that happens, someone getting killed by the a crowd of unruly people just... squeezing them on accident).
*stares at Shinso being carried around like a wannabe king instead of using his own damn legs judgingly*
Count Two: Mineta gets bitched slapped by a robotic arm bigger than he is. I don't think I have to get into how that could be fatal.
Count Three: The army of Zero Pointers who could easily step on someone.
*Momo wondering about how UA can fund this makes me feel very validated, BTW*
Count Four: Todoroki dumping the Zero Pointer on the rest of the competition to block the way, again for obvious reasons. He obviously doesn't meant to, but this kid isn't even looking back. This is both lamp shaded and then dismissed because it happens to the only two people who could shrug that off, but holy shit that could have killed so many of them.
...The cameras are robots. The cameras are robots with AIs that are cheering on the other robots. I- I can't- what?!?
And then everyone can't stop themselves from praising Bakugou for the radical idea of going over a problem instead of blasting through it. Wow, Bakugou. Amazing. Such brains, such smarts.
Count Five: The Fall. Because there's no way that anyone could get themselves killed by. You know. Falling. If I was more generous, I'd say something like, 'There's probably something down there to catch them if they fall', but I'm not terribly impressed by UA's ability to actually keep these kids safe, so that doesn't make me think they'd have thought that through that much.
Grudgingly, I'm going to give a landmines a pass, because they're explicitly supposed to be non-lethal, and them blowing up didn't do any real damage. Burns, maybe, possibly a broken limb, probably some scars, but this count is about people dying. Izuku's pile could have been, maybe, but that's a level of deliberate action on his part big enough that I can't really blame UA, per say.
Eraserhead, on how 1-A has improved: I didn't do anything.
...Well. At least he's honest.
One other thing: I've said before how bullshit All Might telling Izuku to 'fight to win' was, and right here, here's the proof: All Might explicitly going, "I was afraid you'd be too nice to try and beat other people in competitions, but you proved me wrong! I'm so proud!". You know, fighting to win. Like he later says Izuku doesn't for some mysterious reason *cough*, to make him seem at the same level as Bakugou, *cough*. Poor, poor All Might, yet another victim of Bakugou's narrative warping favoritism.
And here we see the management kids going all out in how to sell Izuku and his brand, which is so very fucked up, for them and the people they're 'selling'. I'm aware this is something that celebrities go through, (which is fucked up for them as well, don't get me wrong; I'm an equal opportunity 'this is fucked up' call out-er), but these kids are in high school. The fact that they're doing this, and getting this done to them, in such numbers, in such an early age... yeah. There's no way this could give them lots and lots of long term stress and psychological problems, right?
Meanwhile, as we get to the offical rankings, I think it's time go back over the 'How Many Times Could This Kill A Literal Child?' count... at five. Five times they could have been killed on complete accident.
That is not a good score.
I'm stopping it here because the other events don't have the same problem, but instead of a whole new problem of delibrately pitting them against each other. On live TV. With minimal supervison. Cementoss popping in at the last second in Izuku vs Todoroki, considering how badly Izuku got hurt in the process, does not fill me with a great sense of these fights being well monitored.
*gets an omake chapter*
*Bakugou gets called Izuku's childhood 'friend'. Bitch, please.*
So. Here's a new point: the million point bullshit is... well. Bullshit. It's the snitch in Quiddich all over again, giving the hero something both super import, with an extra layer of difficulty, to drive up the stress and stakes, only kicked up by a million. Making more than the others makes sense, and making it enough to pass by itself is still pretty reasonable, but making it so excessively much has no point other making Izuku feel isolated from his peers and hunted by his classmates.
Also, Mt Lady going on about how 'great' an exercise the second round is is missing the point that this is literally a thing Japanese kids do in school. Literally, this is a game they're playing with Quirks, not some tactical exercise; it's like saying that playing hide and seek makes you great at hunting people down or something. Again, Hori, dial back your constant need to tell us how great the Sports Festival is. Because it isn't. It really, really isn't.
More doses of everything drooling over how great Bakugou is, and how much of a total shit of a human being he is, joy. Mineta and Shouji's teamup is actually pretty damn brilliant, even though it's tainted by how much of a one-dimensional character Mineta is. Iida is getting shown as Izuku's enemy, but honestly it looks more like he's just trying to improve himself more than anything, while acknowledging how competent Izuku is. Not just that he won the first round, or has a lot points but that Izuku, as a person, is the goal he wants to surpass; there's some good shit there, and pretty validating, if Izuku could allow himself to accept it.
Oh Mei! Mei... actually, I have a post I need to do about the Mei and Izuku dynamic at some point, how they're so designed to work together, but yeah she's fun.
And then Uraraka thinks about how strategic Izuku is being and again, I can't help but contrast this with how things happen later on; even if Izuku never lets himself really feel the respect people have for him, people at this point in time really, honestly seem to respect him, not for his Quirk, but for his brain, his determination, his heroism; it's so well setup for Izuku to stand on his own two feet without OFA and it's some really good stuff. It's a shame Hori gets rid of it.
Hmm. Class B. Class B is... interesting. They're set up as rivals but after this it never goes anywhere, and just leaves us with a bad impression of Monoma, without letting him get a good chance to get past it. I don't like him, honestly, his personality grates at me and he needs to get over himself, but he doesn't deserve the hate he gets from the fandom.
That said, though, the Class A vs Class B victory philosphy is honestly just another example of destroying yourself vs having realistic limits, how All Might and Izuku keep destroying themselves vs everyone else not doing that. The fact Class B is actually thinking ahead is smart, but the series doesn't give them that credit because it's not ambitious enough... even though that runs straight into conflicting with Izuku and his issues.
Hori, fucking commit already. In all honesty, it feels like 1-B should have won over Bakugou and knocked him out of the compition; they planned it out, and played him like a sucker, because he's a bullheaded moron. It's all right there, but right as they win... Eraserhead shows up in the booth and says, 'Yes, you've won, but actually no, because Bakugou need to win anyways. So he is. Because REASONS!' Then All Might gets dragged into that same bullshit just to make it really clear that no, Bakugou is right. Planning? Strategy? That's for losers. Real winners just need to want it hard enough, and no one wants things more than Bakugou!
It would have been better, as a story, and for everyone's character development, if that had happened. Bakugou would have lost to some 'nobodies', Izuku would have gone past him without even validating him with a fight, and Class B and Monoma would have gotten a better chance to show themselves as characters; win win win.
And then Endeavour shows up. Fuck Endeavour. Also that is a man who looks like a serial killer. Dumb Might continues to reign and be completely unable to recognize when someone hates him when he monologues about it right in front of him.
Meanwhile, Bakugou is just... there. For some reason. Why? Why does he need to be there for this? It makes his hissy fit later even worse when you realize he knows why Todoroki doesn't use his fire, and it has literally nothing to do with him. Ignoring him, though, Todoroki and Izuku's moment here is some good stuff, a nice setup for a healthy rivalry based on mutual respect, rather than the toxic mess he has with Bakugou.
Ugh. That cheerleader bullshit. Honestly, it says a lot that they can be told that, 'Aizawa says you need to dress up as cheerleaders', and apparently no one questions this, because of course Aizawa would pull some kind of weird bullshit on them with absolutely no warning at what anyone else would think is the worst possible time.
Midnight being really creepy about how she talks to teenagers, of course, and now... Shinso.
'Consent is for losers' Shinso. 'Everyone is coasting on their Quirks except for me, who only knows how to use my Quirk' Shinso. 'Let me use my Quirk on someone before we even get in the arena so I can blatantly cheat' Shinso. 'No one else has dreams or ambitions' Shinso.
I don't like Shinso. I like the idea of Shinso, sure, but that idea is another one of those paper thing veneers Hori likes to put on his characters, without doing the work to make that match the reality; the only hardship we've seen him go through is his apparent inability to work hard. Like, everyone loves Shinso, in story and out, they can't stop themselves from telling him how great his Quirk is. And you know what? It is. It is a great Quirk.
But Shinso talks like he's had a such a hard time with it, even though he seems to love it, love using it, and the way he acts, like he knows he can go through a career as a hero based only on that Quirk. He's wrong, since he's so out of shape he can't even run, apparently, but he's operating off that assumption at this point, which conflicts with his poor little martyr act.
I want you to look at the iceberg Todoroki makes, and compare it to his efforts against Stain. If he did that against him? That fight would have been over the minute he showed up, and Todoroki ambushed him. This is pretty much our last moments of Todoroki, certified badass, before the nerfs roll in. Savor it, Todoroki fans, because he'll never recover from having to lose against Bakugou.
Another omake, which seems like foreshadowing about Hori deals with women characters: bringing up a good characterization, or valid idea (do women heroes need sexiness to do their jobs?), before throwing it away to fall for the same tropes that he was making a stand against just a minute ago (women getting in a cat fight, which apparently gets really explicit, all of this on a TV before Mineta, Hori's avatar of his own horniness).
Then, as if to prove my point, we get Bakugou vs Uraraka where, like Class B before her, she does everything right, gets the win... and then gets it taken away at the last minute by idiotic bullshit pulled out of nowhere (since when could Bakugou make a blast like that? Why does he need those bomb gauntlets if he can do that?) because Bakugou isn't allowed to lose. And then Eraserhead, Hori's mouthpiece, shouts down the crowd, and us, when we think bad thoughts about it because that isn't allowed either; we need to love Bakugou.
Bakugou respects women! ...Just as much as he respects everyone else. That is to say, he doesn't. Hell, he doesn't respect her enough to think Uraraka planned her own fight! He just gets one line for one second that makes it seem like he respects her, but of course once that moments gone it's back to the normal level of complete disrespect. That's totally character growth right there, one second of acting different before returning right back to standard behavior.
So... Izuku vs Todoroki. I like the fight, it's very dramatic, very cool, but... stop to think about it a second, and about a minute in, Izuku's entire ass hand is broken. That is not OK. Why are they letting it go on? It's simultaneously a great fight, but a seemingly awkward implementation of Izuku having a Quirk, because so much of this arc is built off of him not using a Quirk, not having it. This fight only works with it, though. And it's cool, don't get me wrong, but it's shallow at the same time because of the Quirk, because Izuku has to go Plus Ultra, has to go past his limits. Instead of accepting a more reasonable win, he has to win, period, and he doesn't have the power for that.
There's this awkward conflict here between the story's various narratives, between Izuku needing to suffer, and struggle, and break himself, and his more grounded planning and actions, and you can see Hori's old, better planned out ideas getting replaced with newer, less thought out ones. It's honestly kind of a theme for this arc in it's own right.
Flaws aside, though, the fight is gripping, and it's a great setup for Todoroki, a great starting point in making him an important character, in giving him growth. Shame Hori ends up throwing all that away literally the next fight.
Well, before that happens, let's talk the one two punch of, 1, Izuku having done himself permanent, life long damage, which nobody thought to stop, and 2, the sheer, unmitigated clusterfuck of Recovery Girl going, 'I'm not going to treat wounds like these'.
So. If Izuku breaks anything... well. She's not going to treat that. I guess he has to walk around with a broken finger/hand/arm, without any medical attention whatsoever? Well. I certainly don't see any problems with that.
Then we get Bakugou, who canonly has problems using his Quirk for extended periods of time, outlasting someone by using his Quirk for extended periods of time, before going on to fight someone who uses cold, his canon weakness, and ignoring how it should completely neutralize his Quirk to overpower it, through what I can only call his sheer, narrative warping concentration of favoritism.
On what happens after he wins... I've seen people say that he doesn't mean to attack Todoroki, just try to wake him up, but looking at that scene: he's holding Todoroki's body up with one hand as if to shake him, sure, but it's the other hand that's the problem. The way he's holding it is, for his Quirk, an offensive pose, making it ready to attack his target. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt (against my own opinion) and say it's not proof positive that he was about to attack, but there's no getting around that Bakugou had himself perfectly set up to hit Todoroki, full blast, while he was unconscious. Even if it's the more innocent explanation, that feels like something that should have disqualified him because... that's really concerning. That feels a step away from him threatening victims he thinks should have stood up for themselves or something; it's not heroic, in the slightest. The fact they had to knock him out, presumably for Todoroki's own safety, says enough about how bad that is.
The fact that the ending comment is basiclly lamenting from his perspective, that this 'isn't what he wanted' is... certainly a choice. He won, but, gasp! The person with long held issues in using his full power that long predate him didn't use his full power! The poor baby!
Then we get to the award ceremony where they... chain him up? Why!? If the doesn't want the damn award, don't give it to him; they let those guys earlier give up when they felt they didn't deserve it, why is Bakugou different? It feels like it's Hori tying him up here, against Bakugou's own will, and characterization, to give him that win just so he can win, but also to forcefully set up Bakugou's own importance with the League later. It's ham handed. It's probably child abuse. It's stupid.
It's fucked up all the way down, is what I'm saying.
Then All Might shows up, and fucks up his entrance timing because he's not allowed to win anymore, of course, and then forces that medal on Bakugou.
Uuuugh.
Last couple of panels, though, are pretty nice: we build up Uraraka's character, get the next arc set up, set up Izuku (fucking finally) getting away to use his own damn power, and develop Todoroki a bit.
A nice little cherry on top of the shit sundae.

I love Shigaraki but I have issues with him too
His is undoubtedly one of the most tragic backstories we've seen in MHA. Having to live with one of the most cursed quirks, he is a tragic character. Anything he touches, dies. Be it people, animals or object. This is why I felt for this man, why I gradually gravitated towards him.
When his backstory reached its climax, and we hear an adult Shigaraki narrate saying he felt liberation and enjoyment watching all the things around him being destroyed, I went nani.....?
And later on he complains about no one wanting to come to his rescue (minus the old lady but she too freaked out looking at Shigaraki) and say he wants to destroy everything just because?
I can understand that you can create villains with zero redeeming qualities in them but writers who create such villains never gave the readers to sympathise with them in the first place. They are just introduced as an out-and-out villain right off the bat.
This wasn't the case with Shigaraki though. We all witnessed his abusive childhood, his pain, sorrows, his villain origin in the making 101. These circumstance made some of the readers feel bad for him as a character. But these moments are immediately taken away from him and we are left with a character who enjoyed killing his own family, yet wants to destroy everything just because the world was cruel to him. Make it make sense, Hori!
P.S some MHA fans claim that Shigaraki's personality is affected because of his quirk. What are your thoughts on this specific statement?

[excerpt]
What was she doing? No seriously, what the hell was she doing?
That’s all she could think as she paced anxiously in her living room. She hadn’t even planned on calling Shigaraki, her fingers had just moved before her brain could. She’d been so worried about leaving him hanging the way she had at the arcade, that he was going to do something drastic, she knew she needed to get back to him as soon as possible. That action, she didn’t kick herself too much for.
But then he had texted her.
Shigaraki
[on the train]
[b @ ur place in 20]
She should’ve corrected him. Told him to meet her at a restaurant or a train station or a diner. Wait, yeah! A diner! That’s what she’d told him earlier, they’d go to a diner! A public, safe place that would pose a much lower risk of clothes being lost (although, not a zero chance, she admitted bitterly as she remembered one of their last serious talks over dinner).
But no, she’d been too preoccupied trying to work out what to say, that when she’d finally gotten her head put on straight, about fifteen minutes later, she’d found a new reason to lose it. Tomura Shigaraki was going to be in her house, in the middle of the night, when her parents weren’t home.
Nevermind the rather important question regarding how exactly he knew her address already, just what expectation was she setting with that?! Especially right after telling him that she and Mirio broke up. There’s no way Tomura Shigaraki of all people was coming over with anything other than sex on the brain.
All of the fully rehearsed words she’d had suddenly didn’t feel sufficient anymore. This was way more serious than she was ready for. It was all happening way too fast. She didn’t even know what she wanted. She hadn’t even had the courage to fully admit to herself that she had very serious feelings for him, didn’t even know if she wanted to date him, so just what the hell was she supposed to say now in her house?!
Her heart just about beat out of her chest when the doorbell rang. That terrible cheerful little jingle that signaled the demise of her self-control. What was going to happen when she opened that door? How could she stop whatever he tried to make happen?
Especially when it was something she deep down really wanted to happen.
Luckily, she didn’t have to think of a solution. Because when she opened the door, she did not find Tomura Shigaraki holding flowers or video games or ready to sweep her off her feet (and into her bed). She saw him instead, hunched over panting, soaked to the bone, and not wearing shoes.
“O-Oh my god!” she practically shrieked.
“I didn’t bring anything,” was all he managed to say through heaving breaths.
As if she would’ve expected him to bring a home gift under normal circumstances, let alone when he was hunched over and dripping onto her welcome mat.
She huffed in confused exasperation and pulled him into the house by the front of his sopping wet shirt, “Get in here right now!”
“W-Wow. It’s warm…” he muttered, looking around the living room in a daze as she closed the front door behind him.
“Yeah, I’m sure!” she snapped, “What happened to you?!”
“You said you wanted to talk in person.”
“So what, you ran all the way from Roppongi?!” she demanded.
He looked away, a blush dusting his cheeks, “I took the train too…”
She shook her head in disbelief, “You’re not even wearing shoes…”
Before he could say anything more, embarrassing himself further, she pressed a hot hand to his neck with a quickness that had him shuttering out a sigh. But she didn’t notice what she was doing to him.
(She never truly did, did she?)
“Oh my God, you’re freezing!” she grabbed his shirt suddenly again, this time pulling it straight up over his head, “Take these off— take them off now!”
It all happened too fast for either of them to really process or be embarrassed about. She peeled his clothes off piece by piece, all while shoving him frantically down the ever-warmening hallway of her home. At some point he blinked and found himself stripped down completely and standing alone in the middle of her bathroom, fluffy beige towel in hand.
Shigaraki blinked as he finally had a coherent thought for what seemed like the first time in the last five hours. That thought being that when he’d pictured himself naked in her house, this is not the way he’d thought it’d go.
He looked around the room, still in a bit of a daze. It was a typical Japanese bathroom, a nice one, he supposed, with its auto-filling tub and real tile, notably not laminate. But it was cozy (the nice way of saying small) and the only one for the whole household. The whole house seemed to be that way, from the quick glimpse he saw of it all. Simple, modest, warm. Quite a difference from his own luxurious and picture-perfect, but admittedly cold household.
It surprised him a bit, the modest part. Though maybe it shouldn’t have. The more he learned about her and her family, the clearer it was that maybe she wasn’t as overtly privileged as he’d once assumed, as he was used to. Sure her family was comfortable, but there was a much wider gap between them, the family that packed onigiri and Don Quixote-purchased lawn chairs for swim meets, and he who had a Kurogiri at his every beck and call.
By the time he got to running his fingers along her slew of floral body washes and shampoos, he couldn’t help but shake his head and laugh over the situation. The ridiculousness of it all. How panicked he’d been, how undoubtedly panicked she’d been waiting for him. How all of it seemed to go instantly out the window the moment she saw him and had something all new to worry over. No, not just something. Someone. Him. Him and his well-being.
Well wasn’t that something new.

Everyone is thirsty for Aizawa
I'm going to keep a tally as I rewatch mha. Because everyone is so thirsty. Not that I blame them - be still my beating heart.
First up, Shigaraki -
You can't tell me he wasn't flirting with Aizawa the whole time during the USJ attack. I mean, he had a one-sided conversation the whole fight.
"~Don't push yourself to hard now"
"You really are so cool!"
"Oh by the way ~hero"
Meanwhile, when All Might shows up, Shigarki is all like "Oh, if it isn't the heroic piece of trash." Very different vibe.

Psst
(Art by Simontheswiper on insta)
Tomara was up EXTREMELY late last night playing video games and eating junk food. He feel asleep in his own mess that you (shamefully) cleaned up for him. You murmured to yourself, annoyed whispering about never cleaning up his mess again and next time making him sleep in the couch. When you were done cleaning you fell asleep. It was now morning, well afternoon and your boyfriend was still sleeping on the edge of the bed only reason still being on the bed and not on the floor was the structure of the bed keeping him from falling off. The rest of the League were on the couch watching early tv of old sitcoms or making breakfast. They had asked about him and you just told him maybe he'd had taken to much of his sleep medication for his insomnia.
You felt bad for lying but Tomura gets embarrassed when their leader is found being a geek playing videogames all night, which you personally found really cute and nice that he had a hobbie besides murder. So you stuck with the guilt for your boyfriend. You went to the edge of the bed and tapped his face lightly; he usually has nightmares or wakes up in a panicked state. He used to get woken up abruptly as a kid and it definitely has taken a toll on him. He just itched his face and went back to sleep. You mentally face-palmed and shook his body just a little bit, he was a stiff as a board. Then you lifted up his head and rested his head on you lap, Morse specifically your thighs.
He loved when you did that and he really did have a thing for thighs/legs so he felt like he was in heaven when you let him rest there. "Shiggy wake up. Please the league is asking about you." You pleaded but no movement.
*Shigarki's Pov*
"Hey babe wake up" I slightly opened my eyes and saw her standing over me looking down at me. My eyeslids felt heavy, I was a little (a lot) too tired to wake up so I fell back asleep. (she won't mind just a few more minutes)
*back to your Pov*
You sighed then you had heard a polite knock on your door. "Yes, come in!" You whisper-yelled. "Mr C made pancakes for us, want any?" Toga said a lot more gentle and quieter than she usually was. "Uh yeah thanks Toga" "Dont mention it, I owed you for the time you did by nails" she says showings off pink, blue and red painted nails. You giggle as she slot backs out of the room closing the door so quietly just to start yelling when she leaves the room.
She comes back with a tiny stack of pancakes for you "Thank you Toga I really appreciate it" "No problem you're family now. If you betray us in any means I'll get Jin to deal with you." She said staring into my soul "Of course. I would never do that, pinky promise?" You said with your pinky out. "Pinky promise." She said wrapping her pinky around mine.
When she left you felt the weight on your thighs being lifted. "Is that pancakes?" The blue haired man below you ask sitting up. "Yep Mr Compress just made them" you said with a big smile you are happy to see he was finally up (ignoring that you had to lure him with food his favorite food besides chips that is). Your boyfriend have you a quick kiss and ate a piece of your pancake. You jokingly gasp "How dare you?" He let out a raspy chuckle then went into the bathroom doing his usual wake up routine. (it wasn't much but it was something). After you guys both got ready you sat with the rest of the "family" It felt like home, it WAS home.

Hi there. how are you? I've been reading a few of your posts from the MHA. Two things I wanna know you thoughts on
a: what is hori gonna do with Eri? Another ass pull to restore everything and let the heroes have a happy ending?
b: how is hori gonna insult/disrespect/defecate/urinate on shigarki one last time? As of now I'm not even gonna say how hori will handle/treat shigaraki as a character and a villain.
This man has shamelessly and unapologetically dehumanized his own protagonist, other characters are no exception to the rule. Laugh at me all you want but I'm not having a positive feeling for the ending of the series. this sense of impending doom and awful premonition that I have cannot be shaken off that easily.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you.
A: Hopefully that won't happen because it'll only create a double standard situation where "It's okay if the HEROES are using her power because it's helping people!" Where it was treated as a bad thing when she was in the hands of a villain.
Though it did already cross that line when they used her to rewind Mirio to get his quirk back, so it wouldn't surprise me if that happens.
I love Eri, I think she's cute, but I'll go into what I think of her character on another post in the future and just leave it as I hope she doesn't end as a plot device.
B: I'm honestly not sure since Tomura's character has been put through the ringer multiple times, I know the predictable ending of he'll change to good and live a happy life somewhere or die for a "worthy cause".
And I don't blame you for your feelings since Hori has proven time and time again that he cares for nobody but Bakugou in this story. So what if a majority of the characters are underwritten, been character assassinated, or forgotten? As long as Bakugou is alive and thriving, everything's okay!
Izuku and Bakugou were OBVIOUSLY meant to be friends as fate keep pairing them together even though this is clearly unhealthy and toxic! And just because bullying and other topics are normal in Japan, doesn't make it immune to being called out on and should just be accepted!

Why do people bash Ohcaco and Himiko's ARC? (Also how does this help BKDK?)
People have been bashing the last few chapters, and I wanted to go over some dumb hate for this Himiko\Ohcao arc,and something else. But,first, spoilers for chapter 393,second,the only version I have access to is some random fan translation so some things might be worded differently in official translations, and lastly Horikoshi art bash. Like,c'mon the man has been sick for like the tenth hundred time, and considering this fact, this:
Tumblr media
should not be considered "The quality is why MHA fell off" like bitch, are we reading the same manga??
Now on to the main thing about this post (My first one :) )
The way people are bashing the arc for Ohcaco and Himiko is just...sad. Like, they needed something to complain about and this was it. I kept and keep seeing comments about how
"Himiko killed people why the hell are we supposed to forgive her when the only problem was a bad childhood?" And. ..okay,uh,stupid question. Because the whole point of MHA is "forgiveness and love" so saying that Himiko shouldn't be forgiven goes against the show's premise. And Ochaco even says she can't ignore the fact Himiko has killed people but she deserves a second chance because society didn't give her one. True. (Also isn't Deku doing the same thing with Shiggy? But I don't remember anyone complaining, odd)
Also DKBK\BKDK shipers, I think we can be safe to say it will be cannon because of this.
Tumblr media
it showed Deku a couple times when she was speaking so I think we can be safe to say with this line, she's also talking to Deku. Let me explain it you will. (Don't worry guys, this isn't just a DKBK section I am gonna talk a lot about Ochaco's character development)
I and a few others had believe Ochaco's crush was actually her admiring Deku then becoming increasingly jealous of him. And the only reason she even for a moment consider it was a crush was 'cuz of Mina. (Dekuchan on Twitter YouTube and even Tumblr has made a couple things about this,if you're interested in a more thoroughly explained version and some additional points go check them out)
But this makes sense and if you're a DKBK\BKDK shipper it probably made a lot of sense because everything's coming full circle.
When Ochaco has her talk about "Romance" with Himiko it is most likely going to be her explaining what her and Himiko felt about Deku wasn't love. It was jealousy. Because,uh,if Ochaco said she loved Deku then that would mean Himiko did. And,well, does Himiko? No. Because Himiko said it herself what Ochaco feels for Deku is the same thing she does. And,well, that wasn't love.
That was my first post...hoped you liked it...And shit. I forgot a super important part, forgive me. Anyways, let's excuse my dumbass. I completely didn't cover,Ocaco's promise it Himiko talks with her.
Tumblr media
She promises Himiko she can have her blood for, life. Oh,how did I forget to even mention this. I feel like that equates to a marriage proposal???? (Kinda joking but like?) But,this makes me also defend any forgiveness Ohcaco's wanting to give. Because it wasn't just an awful childhood for Himiko,it was also her quirk. And if Himiko's quirk needed blood to work, and then she had a natural need\want for it,her parents could have taken her to a blood bank of something? But that's what I feel makes Himiko and the others deserve a second chance (Don't even @ me about "murder" because duh, they might face some punishment for that, but we forgave Endeavour ? And he faced zero clap back for child abuse, and because of the abuse he made a murder,so in a way,Endeavour murdered people and faced zero punishment but people being upset with him sooo) They deserve forgiveness because,at least in Deku's case, the heros could had ended up like the villains, but because one thing went different Deku's a hero. (Not saying he would have been a villain, but he in his own words hard said Mr.Smily and Shigarki were like him) But because Himiko's parents didn't even TRY do help, she suppressed herself and became a villain. Oh,also, remember when people thought Bakugo had a sad backstory and that would explain why he was an ass? Yeah, like, they say we can't forgive people when they have a sad past, but they need a sad past to have negative actions.
Like,I know most the people saying Bakugo had a sad\bad past was because it's an anime,so sad backstories just makes sense. But if we can only make sense of negative actions need to have a sad backstory, then how do we not forgive? Like,AFO doesn't have a sad backstory but he's the worst of them all. So that's why Himiko and Dabi+ the others, need forgiveness, because they never got a chance until they met the heros.
And,yeah, that's actually it. Kinda forgot a pretty important part lol. And I must mention this one comment I saw,and I like hope they were being sarcastic and making fun of people but...I just can't tell with people anymore.
The comment went like this:
"Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk. No real action. Words words words words words. Peace and love, better for better. How about just give us what we readers really want these days? Sex, violence, nipples, lovely rears? I’m a bassman myself." Like ,bro,we are not reading the same manga if that's what you've been hoping for in mha...Like what? Please tell me this was a joke...Like I can't comprehend someone being this stupid and rude to a manga that is all about peace and love, like if you don't like that why are you here??
