Relevant stats (lol): I identify as ESFJ 6w7 right now
I was reading that post you shared from Mr. ENTJ. Wow. I respect the automatic focus on reality, facts, and figures, but I feel like trying to think that way all the time would be kind of demoralizing. Like, you can’t ever try to shape your life based on the truths you think should exist, you’re trapped in the confines of reality.
Everyone is trapped by the confines of reality, because reality exists whether or not you accept it does. Some things are proven by facts, and that's where ETJs park themselves -- inside of factual reality. To them, thinking that way isn't demoralizing, it's automatic, and people who deny the facts of reality are foolish. As Ben Shapiro (ESTJ) says, "The facts don't care about your feelings." They are just facts. ETJs take the facts and then use that as a way of making decisions. It's the world of feelings that they struggle to navigate, because emotions are not factual and do not make "sense" logically. It's way easier for them to design a spreadsheet than "get" their emotional child. Why would you think this way or ignore the facts???
It reminds me of when I was dating an ENTJ, would tell him the first part of a story, and his opinion on what would happen would be set after the first sentence. Then I’d introduce more details and he’d be like “well that changes things,” and I was like “of course details change things.” Is there a more aspirational/optimistic side to Te?
I've seen be TJs be idealistic (usually if they are 1w9s) but they are still bound to the facts and default into them automatically, and do not comprehend irrational decision-making ("emotional" people). ETJs reach faster conclusions than ITJs, due to judging dominance.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that I, and other people I’ve met, tend to kind of shut off the rest of the world when working—we’re often not the types to talk through our ideas to people while working on them or collaborate on group projects. Work feels most efficient when the production process is untouched by the outside world, and very selectively edited. Is this Si, Ti, something else?
I don't think it's type related, but it may be instinct related. I do not brainstorm with people on MY books, they are mine, I want to write them myself, for my ideas to come from me and not them, and to fix any problems that arise within the narrative myself. I don't share my work until it's finished, polished, and ready to go. I'm fine with brainstorming at work, though, since the best ideas often come from building off others' different perspectives on things. Some people care more about "soc" (group interaction) than others; it usually means semi-strong social instinct in the stack (everything but sp blind). Some sp/so's love to collaborate, others, like me, do not.
Lastly, I wrote in to you around 2 years ago when I had pre-vax COVID, was quarantined, and hadn’t seen anyone in over a week. [...] What stuck with me most, oddly enough, was your assertion that I was probably an Fe-dom because my whole ask screamed “I NEED PEOPLE”. [...] I gradually noticed little things like: I could socialize every day and rarely feel tired of it, I felt vaguely panicky if I suspected I wouldn’t see people for over 2 days, I ALWAYS felt confident that I was on the Fe-Ti axis but could never decide if I used Ni/Se or Si/Ne, there were periods of time it felt like my day revolved around responding to messages, I was more social than my ENFP sister despite identifying as ISFJ, and I could return from a long day and unwind by talking to a friend. Anyway, a few things about Fe-dom these days:
-They’re judging types, but I do feel like my gut reaction to certain ideas tends to be “hmm, interesting; I’m open to considering it” rather than immediately judgment. I know what I personally feel about things I’ve encountered before and how certain things are likely to be received, but that doesn’t mean I “judge” them? Is this in line with an EFJ?
You're a head type and they don't commit to anything without analyzing it first ("I need to think about it"). 6w7 EFJs are less instant to judge anything than the image/gut-oriented types because 6w7 is so attached to outside perspectives and combined with low Ne, makes them pretty eager to explore new ideas. Given the nature and flavor of our many interactions, ESFJ seems right for you.
-These days if asked about introversion/extroversion I say that I’m “selectively social”. i.e. I have lots of energy for people, but certain “extroverted environments” (usually loud+crowded) like parties/bars/concerts drain me. Does this seem in line with an EFJ?
Everyone has a sliding scale of introversion/extroversion. Some EFJs are extremely social and others are not. So it doesn't rule out EFJ. Large crowds would be extremely draining for a lot of EFJs, and not allow for the kind of closeness and intimacy of conversation they crave with their friends.

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
I have a lot of what-ifs and alternate timelines for Vanya lmao, especially ones that prevent the apocalypse because I’m a sucker for a happy ending tbh
What if Vanya was included? Why not? Klaus’s powers weren’t useful for missions, Allison’s story for Claire was literally like “yeah Klaus got distracted by ghosts in the background lol” so it’s not like a kid without offensive powers couldn’t do it
you have rebellious Vanya aus, where she decides, like some neglected children do, so act out. If her father isn’t going to acknowledge anything good about her, she’s going to make him acknowledge the bad. Punishment might be the only time he pays attention to her, after all.
(let’s call this an au where the pills suppress her powers but not so much her emotions)
So you have an au where she sneaks out and joins the missions. She breaks into the mausoleum and picks Klaus up and stares her father down with a challenge in her eyes. 
Five vanishes, and Vanya gets worse. She plays her violin at 2 in the morning. She refuses to eat her broccoli. she teams up with diego to see who can piss dad off the most
(her and Diego actually get along very well in this sort of au, honestly)
Vanya gets out and plays the violin and gets angry. She plays with fury and fire and gets second chair, because Helen is actually really very good. But she makes Helen work for it. Helen isn’t secure in her position, she always knows that Vanya is a step away from taking it from her
and maybe that should make them enemies, but it doesn’t. They’re rivals. Helen respects the hell out of Vanya, and Vanya can’t help but admire the woman who makes the most difficult pieces look effortless
(RIVALS TO LOVERS: VIOLIN EDITION)
Vanya writes her book. Except she kicks down Diego’s boiler room door and is like “DIEGO”

as one of the rebel kids, Vanya actually got along well with Klaus as well since she helped him sneak out and 100% also smoked at least some weed with him because it would piss off Reggie tbh though she didn’t get into the harder drugs like he did
(showing up absolutely plastered to breakfast when they were sixteen was hilarious even if the laps they had to run around the block were not)
anyway Klaus crashes at her apartment sometimes, with supervision, because she loves Klaus but he has a problem and has stolen from her before but he’s still her brother but regardless
Klaus-Diego-Vanya sleepovers where they brainstorm the book to shit talk their father. Honestly it’s kind of a blast. They all get super wine drunk and end up watching Mary Poppins together with some Very Loud Opinions about nannies in general tbh
klaus throwing popcorn at the screen: BOO WHY WAS OUR CHILDHOOD NOT A MUSICAL???
diego: idk if you can have cheery musicals about child soldiers
vanya: i mean if they can have a musical about child labor in factories and the starvation of the workers in oliver twist you could do something with child superheroes
klaus: EXACTLY thank you vanya
they publish the book (luther is uNHAPPY, vanya dedicates her book to ‘all my siblings who survived the Reginald Regime but especially those who didn’t’, and she gifts Reggie a copy that says “fuck you lol” and is signed by her, diego, and klaus), they continue living, they go to the funeral when reggie kicks the bucket
and then five shows up, feral and aching
and five tells vanya about the apocalypse, and vanya thinks about their father saying time travel messed with the mind, and then she thinks - fuck the old man he was wrong about her (ordinary, fuck that, she’s Vanya Fucking Hargreeves) and he was probably wrong about Five, too
and Five is wholeheartedly believed
“Let me call Diego,” Vanya says when Five tells her about the eye, “I bet he could totally wear a police uniform and get info about the eye. And if not, I’m absolutely sure Klaus could improvise a solution. He’s good at that.”
“Klaus??” Five asks, vaguely suspicious.
“We don’t talk about the Sleepover of 2012.” Vanya intones solemnly, and refuses to answer any further questions on the topic.
Harold Jenkins comes to the apartment and tries to woo Vanya or whatever, and Vanya is kind of like... “Look, Leonard. I can be your teacher for violin. It’s my job. But I am in a relationship. And also like, super gay. If you have a problem with that then I am not the teacher for you.”
Actually scratch Diego and Klaus getting called, which they do, Vanya looks at them and her thirteen year old brother and is like “wait. actually i know someone infinitely better to crack this case wide open.”
“Who?” Five, Klaus, and Diego all ask
“My girlfriend.” Vanya says proudly, called Helen up.
And Helen walks into the building like she’s at fucking war and has such demanding confidence that they just give her the information she seeks and apologize for inconveniencing her.
“Hey Vanya are we still on for date night tomorrow?” Helen casually asks after, and Five kind of wants to be her when he grows up honestly after watching her verbally eviscerate Lance or whatever the fuck his name is
“Yeah.” Vanya confirms, “Unless there’s other apocalypse stuff to do?”
“You take all the time you need, honey.” Helen says warmly, “After all the more time you take the less you have to practice.”
“I’m gonna destroy the concert piece and you know it.” Vanya threatens.
Helen sniffs, “Okay, whatever you say second chair.”
and then they kiss and Helen ditches and the others just kind of look at Vanya judgingly
“In fairness, she’s very hot and very talented.” Vanya defends herself.
Klaus nods sagely. Vanya nods back. He gets it. 
“Concert piece?” Diego asks, because he has priorities.
“Yeah, I’ve already asked for tickets for all of you and you will be attending Diego.” Vanya smiles prettily with all her teeth.
“When is it?” Five asks
“April 1st.” Vanya tells him, “And no that isn’t an April Fools joke. You will attend and you will marvel at my skill. And maybe run interference between Helen and Allison because I’m kind of afraid they’re going to rip each others throats out to establish dominance.”
“That’s the day of the apocalypse.” Five informs her.
“Not on my goddamn watch.” Vanya says, because her family will attend her fucking concert and they will make awkward small talk with her girlfriend and the fucking apocalypse has better lay down and get over itself because nothing can stop Vanya’s goddamn plans
“I can investigate Meritech more.” Diego offers, because Lance-or-whatever-his-name-is is clearly shady as shit, “I have police contacts I could go through. Hey Vanya, your concert tickets include a plus one?”
“They can.” Vanya shrugs.
“Sweet, let me see if Patch can come.”
“She’s way too good for you, bro.”
“Shut your goddamn mouth.”
Anyway the point is they all go home, and Diego goes to talk to his police contacts and Five is definitely at home for when Hazel and Cha-Cha attack the mansion, oops. 
“Whomst the FUCK.” Vanya yells, kicking Hazel in the crotch because she’s Vanya Fucking Hargreeves she knows self defense thank you very much
“Ah.” Five says. “Hazel. How’s it going.”
“Just peachy.” Hazel wheezes, “Why’d you betray the Commission?”
“Well, you know. They cut the dental. That was really the last straw.” Five says, sarcastically.
“The dental.” Hazel echoes back, nodding very seriously, “I fucking know. You know physical therapy isn’t even covered anymore?”
“No shit?” Five says, “I mean you’d think with a job as physical as ours...”
“I know.” Hazel howls, vindicated. 
“Five.” Vanya says, rolling her eyes, “The house?”
“Oh, right.” Five frowns, looking at Hazel, “I mean. Can you like, leave? And not come back?”
“‘Fraid not.” Hazel actually sounds somewhat apologetic, “You know what the Commission is like. They’re really gunning for you.”
Five nods, because really what did he expect, “Can you leave like, temporarily? I mean you’d pretty clearly outnumbered. I don’t even know where Cha-Cha is, but judging by the furious yelling she probably met our sister and brother and Luther is hard to kill. Trust me, if he wasn’t we would have killed him when we were like, eight. But for real, can you get out of our house? I mean. Storming the den? Seriously? What kind of information did they even give you?”
“They didn’t give us any information.” Hazel responds back, sounding appropriately outraged, “They didn’t even tell us you could teleport.”
“Well that’s just rude. You’d think they wanted you dead or something.” Five muses, “But seriously, get out of my house.”
“Yeah, that’s fair.” Hazel admits, and leaves, because honestly Hazel is chill like that and knows when he’s lost. And Hazel also has a lot to think about. Like the fact that the Commission sucks and doesn’t even have dental, and how pretty the donut lady is. 
and Vanya is just like... okay. Weird. Is that going to happen again? Probably? I mean. Okay, this day has already been so goddamn weird. This week, honestly.
And they keep getting attacked by the Commission. And Vanya finds out someone broke into her apartment and stole her meds. What the fuck. 
“Did your shitty assassin friends do this?” Vanya asks, waving an empty pill bottle.
“Why would they?” Five asks, honestly confused.
“Because they’re assholes?” Vanya says, honestly outraged.
“You got me there.” Five admits.
The combined forces of Diego-and-Patch (because Patch is actually thrilled that Diego is asking for help regarding an actual fucking crime) figure out that the eyeballs are being sold illegally
Klaus is not kidnapped so he’s fine, just tagging along and living his best life, however this also means that Klaus does not steal the briefcase and Hazel and Cha-Cha are fine
Vanya keeps Five close at hand because frankly she doesn’t want him to leave again and she did really miss him. Also if she does save the world she can lord it over Helen’s head forever. 
And so Five is around when Vanya’s powers manifest, probably because they just got targeted by commission goons again because they’re trying real hard to kill five and separate Vanya
“Holy SHIT.” Five says, very intelligently, “You have POWERS.”
“Wow. Gonna have to write a fucking sequel to the shit-talking-dad book.” Vanya says, honestly a little light headed.
And then Vanya finds out her powers are sound based.
“Oh no.” Vanya says, “Where the fuck are my pills. I am not relearning how to play the violin with-powers a few days before the big concert Five, what the fuck.”
“But you need to learn to control them!” Five protests, “They’re your powers!”
“They’re a goddamn inconvenience is what they are.” Vanya states, “I mean, what am I going to do with them? Stop a bank robbery with the Umbrella Academy? Yeah, no thanks, that ship has sailed and sunk to the bottom of the ocean Titanic style. I’ll figure them out when I’m not in danger of blasting the audience halfway across the continent.”
“Yeah.” Five admits, “That’s fair.”
“Besides, if I’ve been on that shit as long as I have, and it’s been a long time, I cannot even IMAGINE what quitting cold turkey will do.” Vanya points out, very sensibly, like a siblings who has watched Klaus go through withdrawal symptoms more than once.
“Maybe there’s extra at the manor?” Five suggests, “Pogo probably knows.”
“Oh yeah I bet Pogo knows something.” Vanya mutters maybe a little bitterly.
They go back to the mansion and the Commission is honestly pulling their hair out tbh, and they ask Pogo who kind of pales and is like “UHHHH YES I CAN GET VANYA EXTRA PILLS” and goes to get them from whatever stash
“Fucking sweet.” Vanya whispers, entirely done with this situation, “The only adult male role model I had and he hid my powers from me and betrayed me. Love that for us.”
Five shrugs, “I mean, you’re right. All of our adult role models were all kinds of fucked up.”
“You vanished when we were 13.” Vanya says, “Didn’t you find like, any other adults ever?”
“Oh let me tell you about the Handler.” Five says, and proceeds to do just that. Because let’s be real, the Handler was the only human interaction Five had after forty odd years alone it was pretty damn important
Vanya, on the other hand, has strong plans to eviscerate the Handler should the two ever meet because Five deserved way better than to be forcibly made into an assassin?? honestly fuck that woman
that’s it that’s the au
Vanya finds out she has powers and is like “i have a LIFE i don’t want to interrupt it with bullshit POWERS,,, also going cold turkey off my meds seems like a bad idea if I don’t want to deal with withdrawal symptoms during my concert for fucks sake, my gf would never let me live it down if i skipped”
so vanya takes her meds, does NOT destroy the world, makes every one of her siblings go to the concert and even invites Hazel and Agnes after Hazel betrays Cha-Cha to join team No-Apocalypse. 
and then introduces them all to her girlfriend
“Holy shit Vanya.” Helen deadpans, “Your family is all kinds of fucked up.”
“I know.” Vanya says, aggrieved, “It’s been a long fucking week. Want to go camping and help me figure out my cool sound based powers? Bet they’ll make me a better violin player than you.”
“I think the fuck not.” Helen hisses, always up for a challenge, “Let’s do this. Me and my violin vs. you and your dumb baby powers. You’re on.”
“FAMILY CAMPING TRIP.” Klaus hollers, with all the enthusiasm in his little heart.
“Holy shit this is going to be such a disaster, I just know it.” Diego mutters.
“Shut up, it’ll be nice.” Allison says, elbowing Diego with her pointy pointy elbows.
“It’s going to be a shitshow.” Vanya says serenely, because it is. That’s just who their family is. 
Wouldn’t have it any other way, though

Summary: You are Thomas’s prideful side, and you immediately bond with Roman for obvious reasons. Virgil doesn’t like that very much…

Author’s Notes: I hope you like this! There’s a few time-skips cuz I wanted it to be kinda slow-burn and build up the angst lol. (Also I’d just like to say there is no Roman hate here! He’s kinda viewed as the bad guy in this but I promise I love him plz don’t come after me)

“Hi!” you pop up next to Roman, waving to Thomas. Everyone jumps, but you’re so happy to actually be here that you don’t mind their intense reaction. Deceit’s done a great job at hiding you for years, and you’re finally getting to reveal your existence.
You represent Thomas’s pride. You’re not really either a light or dark side, since pride can be used in so many different ways. Pride can be used for good, such as when Thomas is confident in his achievements, ideas, and sexuality. But if it gets too strong, it can become an issue. Excessive pride can lead to being self-absorbed, insensitive, and arrogant, and unfortunately that may be the reason you’re here.
“I’m sorry, who are you?” Thomas asks.
“I’m your pride!” you grin. “But you can just call be Y/N,”
Roman looks you up and down, “But, why are you-?”
“A girl? I just felt like presenting myself this way. Do you need me to change?”
“No, no, of course not! We can sing Disney duets together!” You and Roman immediately start singing “A Whole New World.”
Virgil rolls his eyes.
Thomas stares in disbelief, “I’m still confused, why are you here? Where did you come from?”
“You tell me, Thomas,” you laugh, continuing to sing with Roman.
“Did you guys know about her?”
“Not particularly, no,” Logan and the other sides shake their heads.
“Virgil? Is she another dark side?”
“Not exactly,” he sighs. “But I- I should’ve been able to stop her,”
“Why?”
“Yeah, why, Virgil?” your singing stops and you meet his gaze.
“I’m the one who’s supposed to balance out Thomas’s ego with self-consciousness and insecurity,”
“Who needs that,” Roman scoffs.
“Actually, he does need it,” Logan corrects, pulling up a chart. “Think of it as a modified Yerkes-Dodson curve. With anxiety, one side of the extreme is complete carelessness, and the other is full-on panic. With pride, one side would be self-loathing, and the other would be narcissism. Ideally, everyone should be in the middle, having confidence in yourself but not so much that you become ignorant or put others down,”
“Is she here because…I’m on the second side?”
“Oh no…” Patton mumbles.
“Nonsense! I see nothing wrong with Y/N being here,” Roman objects, draping an arm around your shoulders. Virgil cringes a bit.
“Technically, Roman is correct,” Logan admits hesitantly. “As long as you don’t listen to her excessively, nothing detrimental will come of her presence,”
“Okay…” Thomas exhales.
“Her getting too close to Roman is what you really need to worry about,” Virgil grumbles.
“Hey! I thought you guys were past this?”
“Maybe not,”
“Well fine, Virgil, we’ll go if you have such a big problem with us,” Roman sneers, taking your hand and sinking down.

 Over the next few weeks, you and Roman have become best friends. You’ve written approximately 15 musicals together now, sung every single Disney song multiple times, and have brainstormed millions of ideas on how to help Thomas achieve his dreams in the most extravagant way possible.
“I don’t know how much longer I can take this obnoxious behavior,” Logan closes his book and slams it on the table. You and Roman are very loudly reenacting Hamilton in his room at the moment, and the noise is filling the entire mind palace.
“They’re just having fun, Logan!” Patton shrugs, playing some Go Fish with Virgil.
“Come on, Patton, you know Roman’s just going to corrupt her,” Virgil groans.
“Now, Virgil, I may have had my doubts before but there’s no need to be mean,”
“I’ve had it,” Logan stands up and stomps over to Roman’s door. “CAN I PLEASE HAVE SOME PEACE AND QUIET FOR THIRTY MINUTES?!”
With that, no one so much as breathes loudly for the rest of the day.

 It’s probably way past midnight now, but you still can’t sleep. You head to the kitchen to grab a snack, jumping when you see Virgil there as well.
“What are you doing here?” you shriek.
“I could ask you the same thing,”
“I suppose so,” you grin, hoisting yourself up to sit on the counter. “I guess I wouldn’t mind the company,”
“I usually come down here to be alone,”
“Look, I know you hate me, but you could just kindly ask me to leave,”
“I don’t hate you,”
“You don’t?”
“No!” he sighs, rubbing his eyes. “Are you really so self-absorbed that you think if people aren’t all over you they hate you?”
“Excuse me?” you shoot back. “I’m pretty sure you directly said you didn’t want me around!”
“I did not say that. I said you need to be under control, and teaming up with Roman is not going to help that,”
“What’s wrong with Roman?”
“Can’t you see he’s using you? He only likes you because you’re so similar and you can sing princess songs with him!”
“And how is that bad, exactly?” you retaliate. “He’s the only one who’s been nice to me since I got here, so sorry if my choice in friends isn’t to your standards,”
“It’s just-“
“You know what, Virgil? I really thought we would get along. We both have the capacity for good and evil, and we both help to balance Thomas out. We have a lot more in common than you think,” you slide off the counter and walk out.

 You and Virgil don’t speak for a while after that. Not that you talked a lot before, but that fight really solidified things. You can’t even make eye contact with each other, it’s like you’re not even there.
Roman keeps asking you what’s wrong, but you just shrug him off. How are you supposed to tell him that he’s part of the problem? That maybe if you weren’t so close, Virgil would consider talking to you?
You never meant any harm when you revealed yourself. You really thought you’d be able to get along with all the sides, but it seems that Roman’s the only one who celebrates who you are. Logan barely tolerates you, and that’s only when you’re not being obnoxious with Roman. Patton’s alright with you, but he gets a little jittery if you suggest anything that compromises his morals. And then there’s Virgil, and you know how that’s going.
You don’t really feel like you have to apologize, it’s not in your nature anyway, but you’re sick of having to avoid him all the time now. You need to talk to him again whether he likes it or not.
You swing open the door to his room without knocking and sit on the bed, “Hi,”
“Is privacy just something you don’t understand?”
“It appears so,” you laugh. “Look Virgil, I know you’re mad at me, and honestly I’m mad at you too, but I don’t want to be anymore,” You take a deep breath, “I like you. I wish we had a better start, but I’m willing to start over,”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes,” you scoot closer to him. “And I told Roman to leave us alone for the rest of the day, so don’t worry about him,”
“You didn’t have to do that,”
“I know I didn’t. But I did. So do you want to hang out or not?”
“I guess so-“ before he can finish, you grab his hand and drag him out of his room to the main area of the mind palace.
“You pick a movie, I’m gonna go steal some of Patton’s cookies,” Virgil watches you, stunned, before flopping on the couch and scrolling through the selection. He starts one as you sit down next to him, handing him some cookies.
“Just want to make sure, you actually want to hang out with me?”
“Yes, Virgil. If I didn’t I wouldn’t have asked,” you drape a blanket over the two of you and settle in.
As the movie goes on, you subconsciously rest your head on his shoulder. He stiffens immediately and you jerk back up.
“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry-“
“N-no, it’s fine,” he releases his breath. “I’m just…not used to people doing that,”
By the time the movie’s over, you’re fully asleep and Virgil freezes again, unsure what to do. Should he carry you to your room? Leave you here to sleep? Wake you up?
He slowly wraps his arms around your waist and lies down with you, being careful not to make any sudden movements. Despite his efforts, you squirm a bit in your sleep, but thankfully you don’t open your eyes. He fits his chin in the crook of your neck and dozes off himself.
He knows you didn’t have to give him a second chance, but you did. You were right, you weren’t so different after all, and he’ll always be thankful for the opportunity to be something more to you.

i've been thinking about how much sam and colby's stories infuriated me last night and... I get that they're traveling for 25x25, it's their job and in my mind they take a lot of necessary precautions (keep to themselves, try to stay out of crowds, etc). youtube is already not doing good, imagine if they didn't put some effort on top of that. But the party bus was a crossed line for me, and I wonder if it's because I'm pissed they're having the fun they want to have and I'm not - I don't mean they're partying and I'm not, I mean they wanted to party, so they did, whereas I want to do X but I can't right now. So I wonder if my irritation comes from there. Absolutely pissed that people they're not traveling with joined tho lol (and I love Kat), not just at them but at SnC for allowing it too. That move was 100% selfish of them imo
(Disclaimer: not defending their stupidity here, but just thinking about how they came to this point, and trying to brainstorm how to get them past this point without more stupidity)
Yes, this 100%.  I think a lot of people’s anger and annoyance comes from seeing people doing something that they can’t do right now.  I saw one person say, “I feel like they’re rubbing it in our face,” and I think that’s what it stems from.  They aren’t doing that, of course- but perception is key, and that is exactly how it is coming across. 
Also, on the youtube issue: I’ve been pretty vocal in the past about my feelings on the whole 25x25 thing and what they’ve been doing up to this point- I was looking this morning and I saw some people saying, “they could just stay home and do content from their houses,” and the logical, analytical part of my brain that thinks about figures and numbers and view counts (too much time in the corporate world will do that to you) immediately started thinking, “Well thats what they’ve been doing all of this time on their personal channel vids, and those are tanking (outside of the tiktok vids, which everyone in the fandom seems to hate) and I know if they decided to say fuck it and join twitch now, they would get absolutely flamed by everyone saying they were only doing it for the money, jumping on a trend, etc, so they are kind of in a weird boat right now.”
Youtubers who do travel content are in a rough spot right now, because they are known for...travel content.  If they don’t do the content they are known for, their views go down.  If they do the content they are known for, they are now traveling in a pandemic.  If they don’t do anything, there goes their income and their platform as people slowly lose interest and turn away.  So, it’s a fine line to walk.
So my first thought was them going back to doing abandoned stuff that is within driving distance of them, to limit travel/exposure, but still put out content they are known for.  That would be an easy fix.  But obviously, they have concerns about doing that for legal reasons and that’s completely valid, given their (literal) record, so if they don’t feel comfortable doing that, then fine.  
So, because I am just in general more of a, “Let’s come up with a solution to this problem rather than stand and scream about the problem all day,” person, I started thinking about things they could do that could keep them relevant and help them with their platform/income for the next couple of months until herd immunity kicks in and they can start this whole thing up again.  Here’s what I came up with:
twitch streams or podcasts on their main yt channel where they tell in depth stories about their travels- they could even do a rewatch of their older videos and tell us behind the scenes stuff about them.  Maybe do one of two of those a week.  Hell, they could do it on a stream somewhere, record it, and upload it onto their yt channel later. Best of both worlds.
they could do more of those virtual ghost tour type things that you can do in your car, like what they did on Sam’s channel.  I bet there are a ton of those out there- I did one in Gettysburg years ago, so it’s not a new concept.
Virtual tours that are being offered on National Parks websites or travel websites, or virtual ghost tours being offered on websites- a watchalong of those.  Could be fun!  They could go to the Louvre if they wanted to. 
Pepper in the occasional real trip to a place that is open and socially distant/safe to visit.  National Parks, again, are a good place to start, but I’m sure they can find other stuff even within the general California area that are cool, interesting, and not a packed building full of tons of people.  
I mean, these are 4 ideas I came up with after 5 hours of aleep, before I had my first shot of caffeine of the day, and I am not a creative youtuber, I am just a corporate schlub.  Imagine what they could come up with if they got creative and thought outside the box.
Anyway, with this whole controversy brewing, I think their best bet now would be to postpone the 25x25 and do something else for a few months until things are calmer.  I don’t think they necessarily went into this thinking, “Fuck this pandemic shit, we’re YoUtUbErS!”, I do think they went in with intentions of staying what they deemed as “safe” and still being able to produce content, and until now it hasn’t been an issue so they kept it going.  But they did the old Icarus thing and flew to close to the sun on this one.  Time to come down a little more before them wings burn off.

So I just felt like you need to know how impactful your naruto works are, i binge read all of them last night, and it was well worth it, for the intense concentration of iruka appreciation in each and every one like. Wow. Your writing style is so nice, the way you depict the relationships of other characters with iruka is SO NICE - especially naruto omg the amount of serotonin that encased my being each time you depicted how much iruka means to naruto and how he really is naruto’s precious person just like naruto is his and how MUCH naruto loves him like they both have the biggest hearts in this series THEY BOTH LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH and reading your work made me forget for a moment how sidelined and unappreciated iruka is, especially when his impact on naruto literally made naruto who he was omgggg. And your recent kakairu 😭 like chef’s kiss!! I loved all parts and facets of it, kakashi using food as a way to communicate how much he loves iruka?? Iruka being well fed and looked after?? Omgggg what a gift! Also iruka and itachi!! Becoming friends?? Teammates?? I did not see that one coming but I appreciate it 10000% nonetheless your execution and delivery were so on point! I loved it!! First of all  -  the fact that you consider my naruto fics an “intense concentration of iruka appreciation” is so flattering, that’s 100% always my intent with them, I adore Iruka so much and he deserves the world, tbh I’m so flattered that you like my writing style, too?? It’s something i’m always trying to improve and it’s nice to know when I’ve hit the mark. :) so thank you!!
Second - “how much iruka means to naruto” “he really is naruto’s precious person just like naruto is his”  “they both have the biggest hearts in this series” Did you mean: 99% of why I write these fics? Because YES. I absolutely love seeing the bond between Iruka and Naruto and I love portraying it so much because for two people who lost their families and grew up feeling isolated, the fact that they can find love and acceptance and home and family in one another just Means So Much To Me. I’m glad that this made an impact on you, too, that’s exactly what I wanted to convey in those scenes
Third - ahahaha I really love it too? I was nervous because I honestly don’t feel super confident writing Naruto fic yet, I feel like I’m really faking it and just constantly returning to the wiki like “send help”, so it’s a huge relief to hear that you like it, too! I was worried that maybe Kakashi was OOC, so it’s reassuring to hear that you don’t feel that’s the case
Fourth - I happened to stumble across the fact that Iruka and Itachi graduated around the same time and my brain instantly was like “THAT. GROUP PROJECT” and honestly it’s the fine folks over in the Umino Hours discord serveer that helped me build it from there. It was originally going to just be that one lone oneshot about Iruka and Itachi being paired up for homework, and it was only through the brainstorming I did with a few lovely members that built up my Itachi & Iruka thing into a full Genin Team/Unlikely Friends dynamic!!! And I’m so so so grateful to everyone there who talked me into it because now i’m so deeply invested in the AU and I keep on dragging more characters into it and honestly I’m so so so happy with where it’s going. I’m glad you like it and are along for the ride, too. :)
Haha, as you can see, i too can talk a lot about my fics, and I am very much not opposed to OTHER people talking about them to me!! This was so sweet of you, I’m so grateful!!! 
I don’t know that I’d say the fics are underrated (though i appreciate the sentiment because my ego thinks everything i do is underrated, lol). To be honest, though, I’ve only been writing in the fandom for about a month at this point? So, considering the amount of support I’ve gotten in such a short time, I’m quite satisfied. :) Of course, I would love more kudos and comments, but I am also thrilled that so many people have been willing to read an honestly almost crackfic sounding AU like  “iruka and itachi on the same genin team”

The archive for the Creator Babble chat that occurred from January 11th, 2020 to January 17th, 2020.  The chat focused on the following question:
What’s an unplanned idea you had through your story part way through that forced you to change things?  How did everything go?

After my beta feedback there were some characters that needed further fleshing out with stakes and relationships. Therefore I had to change some backstories to make certain interactions impactful. Thankfully im at the start so nothing i had to go back and fix. I did think of some alternative openings should the comic goes to print but that can be future me’s worries

simultaneously very little and a huge amount, lol. in terms of big story beats, they've pretty much all stayed the same since i first started planning the comic. the twists have been set up and paid off and the like. but there's a bunch of things i've improv'd at the last minute. one notable example that was pretty well-received - in book 2 chapter 4, taci has a fear of puns (basically only shown in facial expressions and a single comment from mizuki towards the end of the fight). this was added because... otherwise the fight at the end of that chapter is just a bunch of walking around in near-identical dark tunnels. the way the fight ends is fun, but the fight itself isn't really anything. with taci having a reason to be afraid of coruby, the fight has more stakes & entertainment value, and it makes coruby feel much more interesting as a character. another huge example is the love triangle in book 1 - in that in the script, it was non-existent. mizuki being into girls was originally only gonna be introduced in book 2 (guess where), and the relationship between cahe and pejiba was going to advance with no real competition (besides bullets). it was gonna be mentioned in like book 3 that she had a thing for pejiba, but nothing in book 1 itself. (similarly to the pun thing, you may notice that mizuki being into pejiba isn't referenced at all in the dialogue besides pejiba saying "i know what mizuki thinks of me" which is kinda vague. i... don't like changing scripts last-minute lol.)

Not gonna lie, everything I do is entirely unplanned. I focus a lot on improvised comedy and what feels right 'at the moment', and considering I write scripts way in advance, sometimes it leads to jokes falling flat when I read them again a few months later. Which is all fine, honestly, it's part of the process. The main unplanned idea for My Husband is a Cultist was turning it from a 12 page one-shot into a fully fledged webcomic, now with 3 chapters and more to come. It was very 'on a whim', and from that very first chapter I came up with more silly ideas. And the more I talked to friends, the more ideas I had for chapters. So the biggest change personally was going from a pure slice-of-life comedy and spending time actually building the world around it so that there was structure to the chaos. I'm still working on it all. I now have an underlying plot that I'm hoping to explore, and I have the arcs planned out way in advance. So it's wild that I went from 'random ideas spewed on a document' to 'I now have a plot and several arcs to cover'. That being said, I still come up with a lot of things on the fly, so I'm changing things constantly as I go and hoping that there aren't too many inconsistencies!

One of the most important story elements of Phantomarine (http://www.phantomarine.com/) came up early in the second chapter, when I was asking myself some more questions about the world - and came upon a crucial opportunity. Luckily I didn’t have to change too much to make it work, and while it didn’t really change the plot, it upped the emotional stakes 100-fold. Which is just what I wanted. In this world, I have a big naval force, of which my heroine is (was?) the future leader - but with relative peace and cooperation between the different island nations, who the heck does the navy fight? Pirates? Eh, maybe. But vanilla pirates have been done to death, and while they can be awesome, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to tie them into the world’s supernatural element - while strongly avoiding the Pirates of the Caribbean cursed-buccaneer aesthetic. I decided to tie them to a particular blight that affects some of the characters - so as to up their stakes and better convey why they’re societal outcasts. And finally, I wanted to give them a freaking awesome name, something both nautical and supernatural. Thus, for those reading - the Fata Morgana. What didn’t even exist at the beginning of the second chapter is now an absolutely crucial story element, and I’m so happy they came into the picture. They’ve changed everything for the better. This is one reason why I resigned myself to revealing the world in bits and pieces - I’m revealing it to myself as I go along, too. It helps to be slow sometimes

The Fata Morgana introduction in the story was A W E S O M E! I’m so glad you have them in the story and looking forward to that amped up stakes!

I think the biggest example would be the last-minute inclusion of Jonathan as a main character in my comic Dark Wings: Eryl (https://www.flowerlarkstudios.com/dark-wings-2/). I had originally planned for him to be a temporary character that we said goodbye to at the end of Chapter 5. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised the main travelling party needed another character to balance things out. I was really struggling with planning future scenes because the pool of characters felt too small. I also realised that I had developed Jonathan’s character quite a lot for him to be dropped so early. So halfway through drawing chapter 5, I rewrote the second half and he’s now a major part of the cast.

A second example is Anor in my other comic, Children of Shadow: Ashes (https://www.flowerlarkstudios.com/cos/). He was originally written as a far less sympathetic character. In fact, he was going to be a borderline antagonist who only became sympathetic close to the end. But my characters often do things I don’t expect, and as I was planning the story, he and one of the other main characters, Rava, started falling for each other. I honestly loved this, and so I reworked the entire story to make Anor part of the main cast and much more sympathetic. He’s still a tsundere, and at the point where the story is now, still in constant friction with Rava, but I feel he’s now a much stronger character and is contributing a great deal more to the story than when he was a vaguely ominous frenemy in the original draft.

In ghost Junk... We actually avoided a major character death and had revised it literally a chapter before it happened!! We had everything written out right the the very end, but were seeing the readers reactions and reflected on the importance/and if it was absolutely necessary! So with that said, we saved the character, and kept the necessary impact and growth that it was to bring, and honestly- I'm so happy we did it

This is kind of the opposite, since I did the "include a new thing in the story" part first, and that's what forced me to come up with a previously-unplanned idea to explain it... In Leif & Thorn, I had a character drop a reference to "that country doesn't allow interspecies marriages" before there's any canon reference to nonhuman species that human characters might want to marry. ...and even I didn't know what that species was going to be. Had some vague idea about revealing that mermaids existed, but in my head I never managed to integrate them with the rest of the plot or the worldbuilding real well. A few months later, I finally remember that I like drawing Tiny People (not like hobbit-size, think Borrowers-size), and realize this is the perfect setting to have a Tiny People Species! Can't for the life of me remember where I got this quote from, but there's an author who, when readers would ask for details about future developments in her books, would only give answers with the disclaimer "I reserve the right to have a better idea." Words to live by.

Admittedly there isn't a whole lot I've changed, maybe a couple small things here and there, but major stuff has been the same since I started. During the very beginning of the planning phase Daniel wasn't even going to be in the story and Julian was going to be homeless, but I wasn't quite satisfied with it. The story would have been too short, contrived and the resolution didn't feel satisfying. After some brainstorming and reflection on my feelings on certain experiences I've had, I added Daniel and 'The Guide to a Healthy Relationship' as it is kinda fell into place. It's weird thinking about how important Daniel is in spite of how new a character he is. Usually it takes me a little time to build one up before throwing them into a story, they gotta age like a fine wine first, but he popped out all ready to use like one week hooch.
Not sure if it counts, but I've also made changes to future parts of my comic. Like recently, even though I know what the ending is, I put a more final image in my head on what the final frame will look like. Also I changed an event that will happen at some point revolving around Apollo and his friends. Originally something skeevy was going to happen with Brandon and Apollo involving video uploads, and a homemade contract that was signed with Apollo was drunk. I thought it was too... I dunno, stupid? impractical? So I changed it to Julian was going to (unwillingly) attend a party at Brandon's (Apollo's friend) apartment, then some big, jealousy induced fight happens where Julian gets kicked out and Apollo feels bad. I didn't like that either, felt too reaching, so I'm going with another event that is a little out there but does happen in real life and something I have done some good research on.

Surprising myself is pretty much every step of my writing process. For good or bad.
I do plan things in advance, but find that sometimes things aren't what they seemed from 15 chapters ago.
I think what it is is this particular comic is such a visual story. I could plan out my previous comic with far greater accuracy. That comic was more dialog-driven; you could convert it into an audio drama with minimal changes, and it would still make sense. Whereas my current comic, you can't turn it into an audio drama without very VERY extensive changes (not even sure if possible... Many silent scenes). So I need to actually draw the pages to feel it out. And I can't draw out of order. Brain just won't that way.(edited)

totally agree with you @keii4ii sometimes u have to actually draw it out to get a feel for it. when i write out all the dialogue for my chapters i feel like it always ends up coming out so stiff, thats why i prefer to let it flow naturally and if something happens that i didnt account for just roll with it and adjust the story accordingly

I'm kind of weird about always needing to know exactly how many pages a chapter is going to have, so I script right down to the panel. It can create flow problems on occasion, so I wish sometimes I could plan my pages more visually, but my brain just doesn't work that way. >< It's a good thing my stories mostly rely on dialogue because they're pretty much novels in comic form.(edited)

When planning a scene at the end of Chapter 3 of Whispers of the Past (https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/whispers-of-the-past/list?title_no=191366), I was having a hard time writing the dialogue. I had the images of my lead characters, Agatha and Izrekiel, talking by the docks in the moonlight, and I knew generally what they talked about, but I couldn't script it. And then, one day while walking to work, my characters straight up had the conversation in my head! And as the dialogue unraveled, the characters (mostly Izrekiel) did something completely unplanned (which I won't reveal because spoilers). This unplanned change has completely upped the drama and sexual tension for the entirety of the future story. The second event of this is in Chapter 2, where Izrekiel is helping out on Kelan's farm. Initially, there was going to be some dialogue that mostly served as world-building, but when actually writing the scene, it occurred to me that they would likely not talk too much, too absorbed by the work of harvest. And then, I suddenly visualized/heard Kelan and the other farmhands SINGING. I don't know why it popped in my head that way, but they began singing a working song. Now, I am not a musician, but I used to sing in choir and do musicals and such, and like half my family members are musicians, so I have a bit of a musical background. Anyway, all this to say that the characters started singing, and in response, Izrekiel (who has amnesia) has a flashback to some repressed memory of men marching and singing the same song, with altered lyrics. This can get extra spoilery, so I won't delve too deep into what his memory means, but.... The lyrics go as such: Oh earth, oh rain, Oh sun in the sky, You grant me with your fruit In this land. And they are directly mirrored in the flashback with: Oh strength, oh grace, I'll raise my sword, With victory in mind In this land.(edited)

For me, I totally changed the ending! I was going to make it a tragedy, and then at some point I realized I didnt NEED to... that a story can be happy and good. So, I rewrote a ton of stuff, and actually ended up adding in some new characters! I'd say It's gone very well ^^ I'm much happier with everything now (for one, I can think about the ending without crying!!) I've changed a lot of other little things as i've gone along too. too many things to count, really.

Initially I was writing the story timeline to 5 days but it spanned to something about a year. Which means I had a chance to develop it further than trying to rush plot points. Used to be like 3 chapters originally but now its like ....I guess 20 chapters? I don't remember the full count but lmao I'm ready to endure.(edited)

most of the biggest changes to Chirault were decided on during the first 3 years of me making it..... I completely threw out the first plan I had made, lol. There was no specific trigger for this, except maybe for 'I don't like this, actually'

Oh! I remembered something specific. My tiger character used to have a 'generic lean-ripped' build. Kinda like the rabbit from Juuni Taisen. Then I posted a random beach day picture, and someone (who wasn't used to seeing characters with visible leg muscles... A lot of comics they read have characters who suffer from Skipped All The Leg Days syndrome) pointed out how insanely muscular his legs were. I ran with it. Today his legs are 2x bigger than they were in that beach day pic, and it's all muscle. Also while this character stays very lean throughout the story, I as the author guarantee you that if he were to put on fat, his thighs will be the first to expand, and the most. 8)

In o Sarilho https://www.sarilho.net/en/, I have avoided one major character death in the first part of the story because I grow super fond of them and also because it wasn't really going to build up to anything... Which felt really unfair. So now I had to come up with narrative lines for them and I'm quite enjoying that. Furthermore, I was halfway through chapter 3 when I figured out Eurico's looks but especially his role in the story. It involved drawing a lot of trucks (and there will be more trucks in the future) but I'm really excited for him as a character

As I was writing my comic I was trying really hard to keep the POV limited to one character, but that character doesn't have enough perspective to set up the plot very well at the beginning. This meant hopping POVs to some other characters and now I'm gently trying to squash a lot of these subplots before they go completely out of control...

Posting this on Charlie since I actually talked about him quite a bit! Let’s gooooo

Pick one of your characters and talk about their growth (we recommend choosing an older character, but it’s up to you!) What about their story has surprised you? What are you proud of? How have they changed from their original inception to now?
This one goes out to Charlie. I pitched Charlie very deceptively-- claiming he was a prophet, aligning him, at first, with Calliope, making it look like Charlie’s magic was of the classical, Cassandra-inspired kind. But all along, I knew that what I wanted Charlie to be was more of this sci-fi/fantasy blend as an homage to his movie’s sci-fi bend too. This year, I got to actually reveal that Charlie is a time traveler after two years!! This is very exciting for me! I’ve enjoyed being able to lean into Charlie’s new image systems with this reveal, even though I’m out of my depth and breaking like 67 different time travel rules, probably lol. Still, it’s been great to take him to that place, and to invent Future-Charlie as both a deux ex machina and an expression of identity/choice/free will etc etc. I did not have Future-Charlie in mind when I created Charlie, so that was something I was proud of coming up with!

I’m going to talk about Nemo if only because everyone else feels like a spoiler lol. Nemo, as a relatively new character though, is still full-speed-ahead on his initial goals that I outlined for him in his application. Now that Nemo’s been established in the school and he has this little group of buddies, I want:
To focus on his wing. I want Nemo to push himself, get himself in a spot of trouble, potentially injure himself.
Reveal his wings to at least one mundus friend
Continuing to infuse his posts with body image issues. This is a slow build kind of plot that really is like...the broth of Nemo’s plot-soup, lol, while training for his placement is the chicken and belonging at school is the noodles….it needs to be this throughline more than like, para a, para b, para c. at least for now.
Pick a thread or a plot that you’re proud of and talk about why you loved it.
I could pick a lot of threads here lol it’s honestly so HARD. But I think I want to shout-out to the Charlie/Jim first kiss thread because it surprised even me and Hannah. We initially planned for the first kiss to be just that-- one kiss, then we done, Jim and Charlie go on to be friends. But like in the best of cases, Jim and Charlie’s palpable chemistry actually informed more of Charlie’s arc and opened up avenues previously closed to me/Charlie since Charlie had been so SHUT to the idea of love. So! I really loved that thread. Also because like, I literally made Charlie experience the big bang after his first kiss. And THAT’S the BEST way to use magic in my opinion. Like when you can infuse magic with an emotional catharsis-- I think the other time I did that super well was similar actually, when Herc kissed Kiki’s cheek and she grew a tree in his room lol. So yeah! Some of my best writing in that thread, amazing chemistry, big surprises. It was an absolute pleasure.
In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 strengths and talk about why you think it’s one of your strengths.
-Image systems. I dragged myself for this, but I think it’s something that really helps me find a character’s voice and make myself excited to RP them! Also, I think it’s what people like about my writing sometimes. Maybe. IDK, lol. -Complex Emotion: I’m stealing this from my mentor who said I’m good at creating complex emotion and so you know its true. My most introverted characters get the bulk of this naturally--they are introspective and feely and give themselves the space to think and feel. But I really want to try to inject more into my extroverted characters. I think I’m doing well for Nemo, who had undiagnosed anxiety and so that informs a lot of his personality in very interesting-- very OPPOSITE-- ways as Berlioz; Nemo struggles with being alone because ‘alone’ means he gets too in his head. That’s been really fun for me and why he’s quickly become one of my fave voices to write (I know, u all thought it was because I am in love with Jimin (true), but no its bc Nemo is an anxious, big feeling baby and he’s always so Alive to me, plus i was made to write a fairy it was always my destiny.)
In terms of your own writing, identify 1-3 areas of improvement.
-Dialogue: PERSONALLY I feel like I’m not great at dialogue. Some posts are better than others and I think I’m good at like…..texting dialogue? IDK. I feel like I struggle in paras though to craft good dialogue. It’s just, rn, average dialogue. Of course not every post needs to have hilarious, punchy, great dialogue. But do my characters sound different? Am I doing all I can to create rhythm and speech patterns? -Filtering: Im being very picky rn, because actually I don’t do this too much, but I do it enough where I’m like, I gotta go read some really stellar writers adn ban myself from using “Feel” and “think” for like a whole month. What I’m talkinga bout is like: Ber realized/ Ber thought / Ber knew. That kind of writing is totally fine, but that’s about it. I need to come up with more creative ways to talk about feelings and abstract concepts!!!
-Character: I know everyone is probably like………….how dare lauryl put this here. But listen. I don’t think I struggle with character on RP. But outside of RP? Oh boy! The THING about RP is you MUST create a character, that’s your vessel for writing here, and so you do all that development plus u got the four years of worldbuilding informing that character, and literally EVERYTHING CHARACTER DRIVEN ITS...THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.  Outside of RP though I think I have struggled because my natural affinity is worldbuilding and shit like that. I’m type 5 baby, I am attracted to characters who let me poke at things I don’t know anything about, like even Jun, part of it really is like, petitions and grocery store management lmfadsofij. SOOOo idk I just need to be able to focus on crafting characters that are compelling vessels for the cool shit I like to do outside of RP.
Pick one of your plots, or even just a character, and come up with a list of 3-5 “mentor texts” where you can look for inspiration or research, then write a short (2-4 sentences) why you picked those texts. JOHN DARLING BREAKS INTO FAERYLAND 1. Call Down the Hawk/Raven Cycle: It’s no coincidence that my reread of Raven Cycle last winter played a pretty big part in inspiring this new version of John. The descriptions of the magical forest Cabeswater and the hunt for Glendower have the same kind of contemporary fantasy vibe that I really like for John. And of course, Ronan’s dream magic is very much intertwined with the faery realm feeling like a dream (and Ashleigh, obviously, as a dark faery who can manipulate them). More than that though, the attention paid to the psyches of each character and how they drive the plot forward is just… /chefs kiss. 2. The Mabinogian: I want to draw from these classic Welsh/British stories and incorporate them in creative ways! Or just as, like, motifs are something. :) I have tried to do this but would like to be a lot more intentional, instead of just being like lmao let me look up some random shit for this one reply~ 3. The Hazel Wood: This book deals with characters coming into the real world from a book world! This kind of goes along with the Mabinogian as I kind of ish want to do something similar, only treating the Mabinogian as a historical, cultural text as opposed to a fiction. This book also focuses a lot on fairy tale tropes (like numbers) which I really want to incorporate in John’s stuff. I want to ideally write some of my own fairy tales-- I have one in mind actually through Ashleigh but it’s related to John too since he’d the scholar of said stories.  
And now, a wishlist!
-Exploring Nemo’s disability. This is slightly challenging for me since we don’t have many fairies, but I’m brainstorming some ideas and hope to really kick it off in January, leading up to his Talent Placement Test.   -I really want to have a lot of town-centric plots for Jun. Would love to rp with the police officers! I want to have Jun try to get some ppl arrested tbh ahah, like, Fflew for loitering, or maybe reporting Mitte. I would love some arch nemeses tbh-- Mitte does seem like a good one. AND I want to submit at least three petitions next semester!! Maybe i should make that two!! Still!! -Do some Bonfamille plots. I already have something I’m really excited about and have already planned here so this is a teaser… -Keep writing essays. The fairies have been great, getting me really inspired to do these.What’s been an amazing mental exercise, and why I cannot stop writing these, is thinking about how the political philosophy of Pixie Hollow informs how it functions: technically, socioculturally etc. It’s really fun for me to basically build a communist thought project and then enact it for real. I feel like I’m learning a lot about...well, societies, lol, and how the material factors endlessly bleed into, and shape, ideas and beliefs (and vice versa). Also, I literally have to do these because when Nemo is IN the Hollow and I want to write him getting a glass of water, I’m faced with a lot of technical questions: do fairies have running water? Does he have to get it from a stream? How do they keep things cool? Etc etc. And that’s why I go off on these, and I’m excited to keep doing them, as many as I can, with feedback from my fellow fairies. Also, do want to do ones that are NOT fairy related, so we’ll see about that. -Write John backstory. He’s gone on a few other adventures and I’d like to actually one-shot those maybe lol. -Alternate Charlie Timeline: This is something that’s bopping around in my head and I haven’t found the perfect way to make it happen, but I want Charlie to travel to an alternate version of his life and get stuck. When I figure out the right way to do this, my partners will also get to rp alternate versions of their characters lol. That’s fun right!! Of course it is, we do it all the time with AUs, but this one obvi be more personal and more closely tied to canon.
OPTIONAL: Why do you RP? First and foremost, I RP because it’s writing for the sake of writing-- joy for joy. I think this is even more important this year as I’ve had to focus on mentorship writing outside of RP. RP became the place where I didn’t have to think so hard about making everything make sense, lol. It gave my brain a break so I could be less judgmental of myself and just have fun and do the most ridiculous stuff...and some of my fave stuff iS ridiculous because of that...like Nemo and Sindri making flower crowns or the ASC nonsense. It’s this kind of light, fluffy, low-stake (but still High Stake) stuff that provided me endless joy when I needed it the most. Second of all, I RP because I really want to invest in people’s creative energy. I think doing so gives back to myself. Building canon, helping people brainstorm, seeing people grow-- I feel like a proud mom when I get to have this kind of mentorship role myself. I talked to MK about this, but even though Sam left to go off and do greater things, that’s like-- to me, it was a lot like he was graduating from this weird BDRP school I’ve helped create. I felt nothing but pride and happiness for him and really felt like, if BDRP was to explode tomorrow, I ACHIEVED the thing I set out to do when, four years ago, I sat on my computer and drafted BDRP’s mission and vision and committed myself to this admin role. And THAT’S what I want ideally-- for BDRP to be this collaborative place that doesn’t focus too much on what makes sense, on sitewide plots that force people into roles. I have always wanted plots like ASC and John’s search for Excalibur to be able to exist side by side, and I think we’ve done that. Now we just have to tend this garden, don’t we, haha? May BDRP bear many delicious fruit.

In denial - Part 1
 [Note]: This is the first time I’ll write a fanfiction series! I really hope y’all will like it, and I already apologize if I make some mistakes (english isn’t my first language lol). I’d really apreciate it if you give me some feedback and whether I should continue writing it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!

My whole life, I have never felt warmth. Yes, I can feel when it’s hot outside, I can feel a hot soup warming my tummy on a cold day – but I have never felt a warmth coming from me, from inside of me.
Apparently, that’s a thing.
Apparently, people have a kind of “sixth sense” to detect their “soulmate” – the closer they get to them, the warmer they feel.
Well, apparently I don’t have a soulmate. But that’s fine with me – another sense would just distract me from what is essential. And anyway, I think the whole soulmate thing is made up anyway. Nothing more than a myth, that people invented to trick people into believing in fate. My theory is, that they all just talk themselves into that stuff, trying to press some greater meaning into their puny existence.
I’ve lived well without a soulmate. And I intend to keep living well.
“Miss [Y/L/N]?” a voice calls out, one I know far too well from countless news shows and press conferences. ‘Oh shit’, I think to myself, turning around with a nervous smile. I didn’t expect to meet Pepper Potts so soon, let alone being interviewed by her.
“Miss Potts, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“The pleasure is mine. To be honest, we don’t usually have office workers with a CV as exceptional as yours.” Pepper answers while she beckons me into her office. How strange. She seems… nervous? She’s definitely stressed… the way she glances in all directions… is she searching for something?
“I’m sorry, is there anything wrong?”
She breaks her trance, shaking her head. “Oh no, it’s just that… there was quite some bustle the past few days. Please, take a seat.” Ugh, I shouldn’t have asked. Definitely not my business, and I sure as hell don’t want it to be mine either. I’ve applied for this job to get myself out of trouble, I won’t actively seek it out now. And I really want this job. I mean, I even forced myself to a pencil skirt and make-up today. I cough, hoping Pepper takes the hint to finally get started. Her nervous behaviour is irritating.
“Sooo… it says here you studied at Harvard?”
But I don’t get the opportunity to answer. A thundering noise interrupts me, followed by the rumbling of the whole building.
“I suppose this is the ‘bustle’ you mentioned earlier?” I ask. ‘You’ve already had worse, a little earthquake won’t break your cool, [Y/N].’
“I fear so. Come on, let’s get outta he-…” Pepper says, dropping here polite manner, She stops halfway through getting up, eyes fixed on something behind me. Startled, I follow her glance out of the window only to lay eyes on hundreds of weird creatures, seemingly coming from somewhere along the top of the tower. Now that’s new – and not in the good way. My heart seems to skip a beat, followed by a weird sensation. Something inside me is longing to be out there. ‘How typical of you’, I reprimand myself. ‘Always seeking out trouble.’
I sigh. “Well, this day was a total waste of make-up.”
After only a few minutes, I had already lost track of Pepper. “Oh come on”, I murmur, shooting quick glances in all directions. New York is in complete chaos. People are running around, all trying to get away from the unknown danger they reluctantly had been pulled into. Someone runs into me, apparently not having noticed me, and falls to the ground. The young girl, she can’t possibly be older than 15, looks up at me startled with eyes, wide from fear. Immediately I pull her up at her arm and run off with her clinging to me. I try to give her an encouraging smile. “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. I’ll get you somewhere safe.” She nodded, her eyes growing even wider. My mind was racing. Where possibly could she be safe?
“Hey!”
A shout interrupted my brainstorming, coming from a middle-aged man in a safety vest, waving his arms. He’s standing in front of an entrance, which seems to be leading underground. A bunch of people are already entering. Perfect! “At least some people seem to have the brains to think of safety measures”, I growl under my breath, skidding to a halt. I point the girl towards the man. “There. Go underground, to the others. You’ll be safe there.”
Without waiting for her response I take off again, running in the direction of where the creatures are coming from. ‘There are most definitely still some people over there. I could show them this sanctuary’, I tell myself, convincing me that that is the reason why I put myself in danger and not this strange feeling, drawing me in the direction of the tower.
Lost in thoughts, I stumble, falling to my knees, scraping them in the process. “I can’t possibly run in this ridiculous… dress!” I shout scornfully to nobody in particular. Luckily, the fall tore my skirt. In a swift movement, I rip the material around mid-thigh, enabling me to move freely again. I had already broken one of my stilettos, so I dropped both of them. They are only irritating me. Satisfied with my new attire, I keep going.
I have no idea how much time has passed when I stop in a side alley to take a breath. I’ve moved quite some people to the underground station, including some kids. One of them I had to drag away from its mother’s corpse. Shuddering I try to ignore the memory of the warm liquids I could feel on my bare soles, and lean against a wall, gripping the iron rod I had used as a make-do weapon. It’s slick with my sweat and the monsters’ blood.
‘At least I was able to get some of those fuckers’.
My heart can’t seem to relax, beating extremely fast, only heightening my anxiety. “Weird”, I mumble. “The adrenalin rush doesn’t seem to stop.” Adrenalin is the only way I could explain this sensation inside of me. Even now, as I’m trying to get a short rest, I can feel something drawing me out on the streets. It’s… new. I’ve never felt like that in battle.
I give in to the feeling, abandoning my slightly sheltered position and walk into the now abandoned Main Street again. The monsters seem to have moved on to another part of the town… or the the military has finally started doing their job. Aimlessly, I roam the streets again, searching for stray survivors.
After a few minutes, I find myself in front of the Stark tower, which seems to be the epicentre of the attack. My heart is beating faster than ever, my blood is rushing in my ears. That’s when I notice a noise above my head. Some of the monsters pass me, apparently not taking interest in me. I stumble after them, stopping when I see something new. A chariot is roaming the skies of New York… going exactly in my direction. My instincts tell me this is more than I can handle, the voice in my head screaming at me to find cover. Ducking behind a car, I keep my eyes fixed on the weird carriage. Someone… is on there. As the chariot gets closer, the figure on it becomes more and more clearly to see. It’s a man… ‘An absolutely gorgeous man’, I can’t help but notice in my adrenalin-induced haze. He’s getting even closer, a vision of black and green. But I’m like in trance. I can’t break my stare into his eyes. Eyes full of hatred… focused on their task… eyes overflowing with emotions, eyes showing the pain this man had to go through. The weird feeling in me is growing stronger, my heart fluttering like mad.
That’s when he meets my eyes. For a moment I can’t breathe. My heart misses a beat. The sensation inside me is burning me up, the pain soaring through my limbs. Then something hits me across the head and the world slowly fades to black as I fall onto the ground.
Spots of black and green appear in my vision.
And blue
 …eyes….blue eyes…
