AITA for not paying for my fiancee's trip?

(Sorry mod, sending this again as I forgot to add an important context detail)

This is going to be long, I'm so sorry!

Okay, so I (23M) am engaged to a very wonderful fiancee (27NB). She's fantastic, and I want to make it very clear that our relationship is great - we have good communication, we never argue, we're always on call without getting tired of each other, etc etc. There is just one issue we have - her financial habits.

For context, I am disabled and can't work due to both mental and physical health issues, so I'm on disability benefits. She can and does work.

We're long-distance (she's in America and I'm in the UK), and we've been dealing with it pretty well so far. At the beginning of our relationship, we agreed that before we got to the point of talking about moving in with each other etc. we would need to have her visit me here at least once to meet my family and get used to how things work here (as she wants to move here), and I would need to visit her at least once to do the same there re: meeting her parents etcetera.

The agreement was that I'd pay for her to come here, and then when it was my turn she'd pay for my visit there so it was fair.

She first visited me about a year and a half ago and came over here for two weeks. I paid for her plane tickets, our transport everywhere (we don't have cars), the AirBNB we stayed in, etc. This ran me about £2k, which was all I had at the time, and I didn't have enough left over to pay for her food on top of that, so I asked if she could cover her own food costs while she was here. This caused a bit of an issue at the time as she was very clearly frustrated at having to do it, and would make comments like "Ugh I wanted a new computer but now I have to save for this trip", "I'm having to sacrifice so much to pay for this" and it made me feel incredibly invalidated, like I was covering everything else and also sacrificing a lot to pay for everything else for us but the one thing I'd asked her to help with was too much. We had a conversation about it at the time and she apologised and said she'd work on it, so we moved on.

Plans changed a bit very early this year, as I was due to get surgery and the friend who was supposed to accompany me there dropped out last minute. I had no one else nearby to turn to and I couldn't go alone (it was the kind of surgery where I would need someone around for at least 1-2 weeks afterwards to help me move around and do daily tasks). As a last ditch effort I asked my fiancee to fly over again and help me out, and I paid for this again which I was completely fine with doing as the trip was a favour for me and it was unplanned from her end. This was another ~£2k.

So cut to summer this year. This was when I was supposed to have my visit over to America. She, at this point, was making pretty good money at a school job. However, when I asked her if we could finalise the plans and buy tickets, she told me that she had no money.

This is where I explain that she's really, REALLY bad with money. She impulse-buys clothes and things for her room etc., she plays gacha games like Genshin Impact and spends quite a lot of money on 'pulls' and the gambling mechanic, things like that. It turned out that through the whole time of having this job she'd been basically spending money as soon as she got it and she now had nothing for the trip. I was admittedly frustrated with her (especially as she initially lied to me and told me she hadn't spent money on games etc. and then later confessed that it IS where the money had gone), but we agreed we could push back the trip to winter/Christmas-time to give her more time to save, and honestly I didn't really mind because I've never spent Christmas/New Year with anyone before, so shifting the visit to over those days would be a nice experience.

However, soon after this she was fired from her job for too many call-outs/absences. For the next few months, she didn't get another job - she said she was doing all she could and was applying for, but I often got the impression that she wasn't and was sort of throwing out an application every few weeks and then writing it off as 'done', which I could be completely misinterpreting so take that with a grain of salt. I kept pushing her to get a job so we could get the trip sorted out and I know she got kind of frustrated with me a few times for it.

I ended up giving up the closer we got to the time and offered to just cover it again if she could pay me back when she did get a job, and she agreed.

Unfortunately, after this I was rendered homeless due to my abusive home situation. I was fortunate enough to be offered government housing and I now have an apartment in town, but it's completely unfurnished (literally all that's in it is a single bed and a cooker, there's no flooring or anything yet). I now have to put all the money I have saved (about £3k) towards getting flooring (which is a little over £1k by itself), furnishings, getting the walls painted, sorting out gas and electricity, etc. I'm also now paying the bills for this apartment. As a result, there's no possible way I could afford to cover the trip anymore myself.

It looked like things were getting sorted because my fiancee got another job recently. It's pretty well-paying, she seems to enjoy it so she's not calling out, and she kept prompting me to talk details of the trip with her so it felt like it was all getting figured out and she was ready to finalise it.

Then today I asked her how much money she had ready for it and she said... $15. I'm genuinely lost on how she still hasn't saved any money, she claims she used it all on "bills" but she doesn't pay rent or cover any housing costs as she still lives with her parents, so I don't understand at all where it's all going. We have less than a month before the trip is supposed to happen, nothing is sorted, we still have no clue where we'd be staying, no plane tickets have been purchased, and now it's looking a lot like it's going to have to be pushed back AGAIN to next year.

I thought about trying to pay for it again, because I DO really want that Christmas and New Year with her. Delaying it again would also mess up our future plans, as the plan was to get this trip to America and meeting her family done this year, then spending the first half of next year on the Visa process and then the latter half getting her actually moved over. It also means I would have to delay my college education, as I was going to start my course early next year, which I wouldn't be able to do if the trip is next year instead as it would require me to take weeks off.

If I tried, I probably could cover it - I need to spend the ~£1k on flooring as that's already arranged, but I could technically use the remaining £2k to fund the trip. However, this would mean my house would remain unfurnished and barely habitable for months longer. It's not so bad if I know she'd be able to pay me back quickly, but the reality is that I don't know how long it would take for me to see the money back.

Part of me also feels like she's kind of expecting me to give in and pay for it last minute in order to not delay it, because I offered before and I was willing to pay for the last two trips. But it's just so depressing and frustrating, because it feels like I keep giving things up and putting things into these trips and getting her over here, and trying to get it back from her is just like running into a wall.

We've talked about it before, but she insists there's nothing more she can do, she's trying as hard as she can, and that she's upset about it too. I just don't know what to do about it anymore.

So I guess my question is, AITA for complaining about the trip, missing Christmas/New Year and pushing her on money and nagging her about what she does with hers instead of just taking the L and covering the trip again until she can pay me back?

so when you walk into his estate one morning, eyes downcast, he immediately knows.

"hey. tell me. what's wrong?" he frowns slightly at your behavior, no doubt concerned. when you stay silent, his expression only deepens. "you can tell me."

and you do tell him, eyes teary with worry. '"...there's just... a lot going on right now." you finish, sighing, not wanting to let this part of you be revealed to the azul-haired man so easily.

his eyes glisten, his voice soften. sending a bittersweet expression your way, he places a gloved hand over yours, where its trembling on the table, before leaning forward and pressing his soft lips to your forehead gently.

"it's going to be okay. trust me, alright?"

"how can you be so confident about that?" you question him, pouting with disbelief. you can feel your face burn at the action, but you try your best to ignore it, especially with ayato's gaze burning into you.

the next time he speaks, it's barely a whisper:

"i'll make sure of it."

and you loved him for it.

the way he smiled softly and raised his hand in greeting at the children playing on the street, or the way he snuck out of the estate to give the stray animals some food to eat... his heart was kind, and he made you happy when you were around him.

"off to to see the stray dogs again, thoma?" you give him a little wave from your post. "would you mind if i came with you?"

"not at all! i'd be happy with you by my side." the man smiles charmingly as the two of you walked down the path. pausing, he turns to you with a quizzical expression. "ah... but don't you have work to do?"

"hehe, don't worry, i made sure to inform my supervisor. i've been waiting for you, actually." thoma blushed at your confession, laughing nervously.

"i-i didn't make you wait too long, did i?"

"of course not. you were just on time, actually. anyways, when you visit all those pets, what do you usually do?"

"ah... actually, i was planning on knitting some sweaters for them. after all, it's been getting colder recently and they don't have any shelters, so..." thoma sighs. "winter is always a tough time for strays. i would take them in if i could but... there's just too many, and that would only lead to more problems." you can see his eyes soften at the mention of the topics, his expression full of remorse. he feels deeply about this, and you know its already starting to rub off on you.

"then how about we adopt one together?" you first suggest it as merely a joke, but as you see thoma's eyes light up, emerald irises sparkling with hope, you feel your own heart skip a beat.

he rushes forward, clasping your hands in his own as he stares at you intently. "could we...really do that??"

he's too close...!

"i-i mean- if you really wanted to-" you stammer, trying to avoid eye contact as you can feel your skin grow warm from where he's touching you. just thinking about it makes your face flush.

"then let's try our best together!"

he didn't care what others thought about you.

to him, you were just someone he cared about.

his childhood was rough, to say the least. he was shunned and ignored wherever he went, even if he was hurt and in need of assistance. so you completely understood when you came to the arataki gang headquarters, pleading for a chance to get into the infamous group.

of course, he gladly let you! after all, at that time, the gang was short on hands, and you were the perfect fit - just what they needed.

in fact, they're so happy to have you here that for the first week or two of your arrival, everyone calls you "godsend" or "savior" instead of your actual name. it's entertaining to say the least, and you're glad to have found such a nice group. they're your found family, and they never cease to make you laugh.

itto is no exception. he jokes a lot around you, especially if he senses your feeling down, and always brings you whatever snacks he was able to win from the kids that day. its childish, you know, but you love that little playful aspect of him. it makes you feel warm.

then the rumors start.

you don't even know the full story, all that you know is that they're false - lies spread by the citizens of inazuma with too much time on their hands and too many stories to tell.

"they killed a innocent man..."

"oh my! really? i heard they engaged with several various married men...! seems like they really betrayed all of us... making us think they were a decent person... i can't believe this."

you're nervous to go to the first meeting after the rumors start, so you don't, telling them you're sick and that you'll need a week or two to recover.

well, it's been two weeks, and there's another meeting planned. there's no way to escape it this time - they've surely already heard the rumors, no matter how clueless they may be.

so when you show up at the planned spot, you're surprised to only see itto standing there, glancing around for you. he spots you walking toward him, and gives you a big grin that stretches across his face. "hey! it's been a while! how have you been?"

"...good."

"what're you so quiet for? is something wrong?" itto blinks at you with his crimson eyes cluelessly.

"ah... you've heard the rumors, haven't you?"

"of course i have." you feel a chill surround you as you frantically stare up at him with wide eyes, entire body trembling. "what about it?"

"they're not true!!" you stutter, tears desperately pooling at the edges of your eyes. "i promise-!"

"i never said they were. don't worry. i believe you."

"you... do?" suddenly, everything seems warmer.

"of course. you'd never do something like that. i trust you." he grins sheepishly, laughing a little. "sorry, did that come out too headstrong?"

you shake your head, smiling. "not at all. thank you."

"it was the least i could do."

heizou ♡

he always matched your level and helped you catch up to speed.

and it happened quite often.

after all, the detective's man was astoundingly fast, he was a genius in all standards imaginable. because of this, even though you were quite clever, you still found it hard to decipher some of his ramblings when he was trying to crack a particularly difficult case.

still, he tries his best to help you, especially since you're a detective yourself. he often points out things that people aren't able to see the first time, but never acts obnoxious or brags about it. he's just happy to be of help.

so when the two of you get assigned to the same case, the red-haired man is ecstatic. he doesn't stop talking once on the way to the office, the words just keep on coming! he's speaking so fast that you can't make out his individual words but you can tell he's excited from the way he almost skip-walks and the way his emerald eyes sparkle when he looks at you.

he's giddy all throughout the debriefing, occasionally sending you enthusiastic glances from across the table as he grins at you playfully. it's hard to concentrate when he's acting so... childish.

but it's not like you don't like it.

quite the opposite.

when you two finally set off for the investigation, heizou still hasn't calmed down. maybe it's because this is the first time that heizou gets the chance to show you his skills on the job, or maybe it's just because he can finally be with you while he does his work... either way, you don't find it annoying. instead, you find it almost funny that he's this eager about the whole thing.

there's a light tap on your shoulder, and you whirl around to see heizou grinning at you, upturned eyes closed as he hands you a daisy that he's just picked off the side of the road. his face is red, but he manages to hand you the flower nonetheless, your fingers and his brushing against each other as he does. his flushed skin is warm to the touch.

"is this...for me?" you look at the man, confused. still, you can feel heat creeping onto your face.

"who else?" heizou gives you his signature grin, opening his eyes to reveal his near spring green irises underneath. "thanks for staying by my side."

he was distant, but even so, he tried to show you his feelings for you.

he was never the affectionate man. far from it.

he never acted cold, at least he didn't try to when you were around. dain was usually silent, too, which didn't help the awkward pauses in conversation whenever you tried to talk to him. still, there was something about him that just made you feel so happy.

and dainsleif felt the same, although he may never admit it. your mere presence was enough to put his usual wandering thoughts at peace, and he felt more collected. your demeanor just had something to it that washed away whatever troubles he had been facing, no matter how large.

you forgot how you had met him. but you remembered when and where. it had been a starry night, and the moon shone bright. you had peered out over the shadowy meadow, and had spotted his tall figure, his head of blonde glimmering in the light.

you blink your eyes hazily, glancing up at the sky. the sun set a long time ago, and the moon is hidden by dark clouds, flashing with bolts of lightning.

it's well past your normal sleeping time, but your sleep schedule is already so messed up it barely matters anymore. dain sits across from you, staring out the window and at the howling wind outside. the two of you coincidentally were out for a walk, one of the rare times dain was free, when a thunderstorm had to start and the two of you leaped into the nearest ruins and were sitting and waiting out.

"at least there's a roof, right?" your voice was hopeful, trying to make the best of the situation. that is, if you could call it a roof. it was a few poorly placed wooden boards that were sealed with some kind of gritty cement, but it managed to keep the rain out, so who were you to complain?

dainsleif nods, his gaze trained on you. pausing, he hesitates before opening his mouth to say something. "if you're tired... you can rest. i'll take watch."

"no! i couldn't do that to you-" you cut yourself off with a sudden yawn. self sabotage. "besides, who knows the next time we're going to be able to talk alone like this?"

"it'll be okay. here." he pats his legs from where he sits, an unreadable expression on his face. "this'll be more comfortable than the stone floor, right?"

you can already feel your face burn. "ah-"

"please?" something about his almost whiny voice takes you off gaurd, and you already feel your will crumbling.

"alright..." you slowly walk over to him, laying on the ledge he's sitting on and resting your head in his laps. he smiles down at you, before unpinning his cape and draping it over your figure. the warmth and his sweet scent hits you immediately, and you can only feel yourself being lulled further into sleep.

"dain-!" you protest weakly, pouting. you can feel his smiling gaze from where you've buried your face in your arms, embarrassed face flushed red.

"sleep well, darling."

I just wanna say that I love your Cynonari pieces and your art piece with some of the Sumeru characters! Sumeru has a lot of fun characters. I only got into Genshin recently, shortly before 3.7 came out and it's been great finally having some context when you or other artists I like make pretty art for Genshin.

It's been fun looking at pieces I've seen before playing the game and being like: "Oh I get this now that's so cute! Or that's really funny-or oh no that's angst!"

ahh thank you! sumeru has some of my fav characters for sure ;v; it was actually Tighnari and Cyno that finally convinced me to download the game last october lool I wasn't caught up until february tho

I just had a minor thought but like I've been playing hsr and it's really cute that the trailblazer (Stelle/Caelus whatever) has an idle where they're playing a mobile(?) game. Like my trailblazer makes a little sound of achievement randomly and I'm like "dang I never sound that happy when I do spiral abyss".

Anyway, the reason I'm making this post is because Silver Wolf's trailer came out and she is (famously) also a gamer. Moreso than the trailblazer, but also they've only existed for like two weeks so I won't hold that against them.

It made me think - what if the trailblazer is a combination of the stellaron hunters? Like, they're the ones who "made" them and we've all heard the "Kafka is mother" jokes. What if when the stellaron hunters programmed the trailblazer's personality, they put some of themselves into them? Or perhaps they have leftover memories from their time with them despite the amnesia, nothing concrete but some habits that they picked up.

So they got gaming from Silver Wolf, and perhaps their playful side from Kafka. Like, in the Silver Wolf trailer Kafka memes on her somewhat and then also her nicknaming Blade "Bladie" does suit the vibes the trailblazer has. Maybe the trailblazer's violent impulses come from Blade, then, since it is comical how quickly they start beating random strangers with their baseball bat.

We don't know anything about Elio but he's known as "Destiny's Slave" and that's pretty fitting. As the player character, the Trailblazer has exactly no actual free will. Sure, unlike Genshin, a lot of the different dialogue options do come with unique responses, but there's not one choice the trailblazer can actually make. This holds true from the meta "we (the player) control them" and also in-universe everything they do is predetermined. Looking at this from a fourth wall perspective does make sense since Aha (Elation) recognises its universe - that being the universe of hsr - is part of a game.

Idk, I just found this interesting. Kafka implies the trailblazer knew her before she shoved the stellaron into their chest, but since their memories are gone I do like to think that Kafka manufactured our personality by using aspects of the stellaron hunters.

Back here to talk abt my hsr coffee shop au cuz Im a bit of a perfectionist and want everything to make sense/be logical (?).

So I haven't worked much on this au, mainly cuz I kept forgetting every couple of days that the idea ever crossed my mind and also cuz this month I've been having more exams than usual and a lot of assigments crampled all in 1 month. What Im gonna do in this post its just briefly talk about some of the ideas I have so far :]

-- Caelus and Stelle are twins. Caelus is the older but shorter and Stelle the younger but shorter (directly picked from our dynamic @a-sociopath-do-your-research xd (also sorry for @ when its not like our silly post xdnt))

-- This one its still in thought process, but I want to make the whole stellaron thing an actual health issue that both twins (will be referring to both Caelus & Stelle as twins througthout this post/AU) have and prob also characters like Cocolia. In-game its known as the Cancer of All Words, but Im prob dumb for not knowing if its actually based on cancer or if its meant to be like a made up illness. (Pointing this out cuz I literally went out my way to research illnesses with specific symptoms for a Genshin oc..)

-- Pom-Pom is the owner of the coffee shop, both Himeko and Welt would prob be the managers. Danheng March and the twins are kinda scattered between senior & junior employees.

-- Something thats giving me major trouble to plan (right under the health topic) is how to add the Stellaron hunters into this au. The original idea, that was one of the veru first ones, was that the shop was actually theirs, but since I want to add in the same mistery between the group's connection with the twins, I ended up discarding the idea. I currently have 2 vague ideas: either they're like some mafia/shady group or they also have a business close by (the latter came while writing abt the og idea). Also conflicted on the whole idea of Kafka being like a mother figure to the twins (hc Ive had ever since I started playing).

-- The coffee shop is called Stellaron, just cuz I like the idea of it, cuz either way, the concept Im getting from the ingame stellari¡ons are just the effect they can have in people. (As in, the sickness would have a different name-)

-- Lastly, not really an idea for the au but Im kinda thinking of eventually writing a fic out of this au, that is if I dont give up on it xdnt)

SAGAU smut drabble

Ok so I just had this random idea but you know how there's time dilation right? And you the creator also has needs cough cough sexual needs cough cough so you decide to confide in your sweet sweet acolytes and vent to them about your frustrations, they listened to you intently albeit a little embarrassed and by the end of it they proposed to have you sleep with someone, now knowing about how different you process time they decided to have multiple people please you, 3 at least and so they got to work prepared a luxurious room set with some toys and a bell? Apparently it was a bell that the acolyte can use to tap out when they feel as though they couldn't carry on satisfying you, there were a few protests from a few acolytes about how it's useless to have that there because obviously they wouldn't tap out on you.

Finally started the "love making" session, the first 2 acolytes went out with a wobble to their steps holding on to walls to keep themself steady and the 3rd acolyte is quite nervous now, when they get in the room they could smell the scent of sex and sweat all around the room their train of thoughts were cut off when you almost immediately jump on them.

After a few hours (a few minutes for you) the acolyte is moaning out, their whole body shaking, they don't know how much they've cum now. They try to reach for the bell but contemplate it when they saw your expression, you seemed close they would like to be the one to satisfy you, but they can't take anymore of this, any more and their brain will turn into mush! Again they try to reach for the bell but their face turns into one of horror when you reach for their wrists and pin them together

After dozens of adventures with the world renowned Traveler, many would think that you've seen it all. In some cases, yes, you've gotten to see all sorts of places in Teyvat that you didn't even know existed. All these travels allowed you to meet many new people, as well as old friends from lifetimes ago. Some reuinons were, nicer than others (tea with Zhongli will always beat running away from Ei in Inazuma)

The next destination for the Traveler was Sumeru, with the goal of meeting the the dendro archon. Perhaps it was the perfect compatibility of your abilites and that of the archon of Dendro herself, but you were always closer to her than the other archons. She was kinder than most gods, and definitely smarter. Several times along the journey to Sumeru the Traveler had to make sure you were alright, with the all your excitement constantly bubbling.

While your powers weren't as strong as they were in your past life, you knew something felt of the moment you stepped into Gandharva Village. And, as per the usual, the whole visit of Sumeru was filled with adventures, commissions, and saving a whole population due to the fatui's escapades. When it came to escaping the Sabzeruz Festival, it was only then that you realized where the goddess you were looking for was.

The whole fiasco of rescuing Nahida went better than it played out in your head. When it came to saving her, you specifically requested to stay back and fight all those who locked her up in the first place. And so, once the Traveler finds Nahida, they both are met with the sights of you scolding (and threating) several sages.

Seeing the familiar white haired archon, you immediately sprint over to her and scoop her into a hug, which was lifetimes overdue.

"Lesser Lord! Archons, I've missed you so much!"

"It's really good to see you too, I hope you've been well"

sadly i dont have too much info, ive only played the beginning of wuthering waves so far

from what i can telk at least from the first city, everything (at the start) is chinese inspired and everyone has chinese names. that the eng dub vas butcher a lot, from what ive been told.

your character has some power that sometimes lets you 'catch' the echo (afterimage) of enemies you killed and 'summon' them in fights or equip them for stat boosts?

i havent personally seen too much of it yet, just that so far everything and everyone is chinese so i wonder how theyll do stuff later, or if they'll do the genshin thing of introducing different themed regions at all

To be fair from what I've learned the company behind the game is Chinese so I'd honestly not be surprised if the characters and location are Chinese based/inspired.

And while I always dislike VAs who are bad at pronouncing names and such I don't consider that to be racism.

For those unaware Genshin's developers proudly showed on camera that they based the design and movement of the games main fodder enemy off Natives. They had videos of indigenous dancers who they said looked silly/stupid and related the tribal primitive beliefs of the Hilichurl to that of Native people.

I've been told they also have tons of racist portrayals of other cultures and PoC however details such as the above have not been provided. Looking at how they designed their PoC however I believe it.

What bothers me is that when I bring this up I often get one of two responses. Either I'm told that the churls are actually based on Oni since it says that on the games fandom wiki that anyone ever can edit and change. Or I'm told that the portrayal of Natives is accurate to what actually happened to Natives which is because supposedly a Native person said that way back when the videos came out.

Both of these responses fall to justify the blatant racism on display, but people are quick to overlook racism against Natives in the first place.

Who’s your most favorite character out of every fandom you’re in?

i love this question!!! growing up I've been in A LOT of fandoms that def shaped who i am today 😭 but most of them are dead. I'll just list some that r kinda active/still think about

1. Viktor from Arcane

Okay, Caitlyn comes in 2nd. But he's my most favorite. I initially loved him for his grumpy attitude and his accent (who doesn't) but his childhood story made me fall in love with who he is a little bit more. :')) i like how he's dedicated to his work and how he decided to take the risk in helping Jayce when it came to magic. this guy's an inventor, a scientist, and a dreamer. and i love those types of people!!! anyway i just want him to be happy

2. Reigen from Mob Psycho 100

i LOVE this unhinged man. everything is perfect about him even though he is literallt imperfect. loved his chatlracter development the most. anyway its reigen so i dont think i have to explain why hes my favorite.

3. Fischl from Genshin

She's one of my first characters in the game and even though her stats aren't that good i keep trying to let her be part of the team 😞 im too attached to her. She's pretty and im obsessed with her design but i loved her antics and silliness the most. she is jus like me forrreeall. i love beidou too (i love strong pirate boss woman<3) but fischl is just a character i relate to more. I ALSO WANT HER TO BE HAPPY!!!

Reflection I don't quite remember when I started RPing, but I know I started on devART yearsssss ago, cringe ass days (only cause wow my writing sucked LOL). At some point I ended up migrating to tumblr in the 2012 ... 2013? Era??? And I've been here ever since LOL.

Do you have any writing routines? uhhh massive hiatus??/ LOL no but on serious note it usually is just inspiration striking or making time for it; if I end up making time for it, I tend to play brown noise in the BG while I write (or rain sounds) so i can focus. if i get lost in the sauce i just kinda. Do it.

What's your favorite part about writing? Character development!!!!!! My primary OCs I've had over the years have developed primarily through tumblr/writing/rp partners; Sylvie is one example, then my previous booboo which was Hideki, then my Bleach OC I brought over when I came onto tumblr

Three things you like about your writing:

I second Ash on dialogue cause Sylvie is fucking chatty as hell, so a lot of the personality comes out through how they talk + secondary gestures

I like my voice!! I usually try to write how I think + speak, and I like how it comes out in my writing

I'd like to think it's digestible writing? <:)

Um, I can't say I have any characters I've disliked in particular...? At least not for Genshin, for Bleach I can definitely say ... I didn't dislike anyone there in particular (not counting minor characters that just left weird tastes in my mouth), but I've warmed up a lot to some characters due to writers there.

Especially since a lot of them put a lot of love and thought into their portrayals; Kaname Tousen has a special place in my heart due to a writer in the Bleach RPC that passed years ago due to health circumstances. I didn't dislike Tousen in any way tbf, but she wrote him (alongside the Starrk she had a ship with) in such a way with heart and love that I grew to love him and ache for him.

Same case with Childe—I never disliked him don't get me wrong, I thought he was cool as heck from the beginning, but it's the RPC writers that I associate with him that make me point and remember the portrayals I've seen; I often warm up to characters due to the writers.

My question for you: Is there something you'd like to tell to your past self when you first started writing / getting into roleplaying?

hi. how is everyone!!! tell me about your day.

my life updates that no one asked for in the form of a disorganized rant are under the cut

my birthday passed and it was fun but there was this overarching sense of dread and unhappiness because so much has been going on. i've lost like four friends over some ridiculous situation and i'm not upset at them dropping me because it shows that they never really cared for me in the first place but i'm more sad because i have no one to do things with around me and that means i rot at home more often than not. speaking of home, i'm losing my apartment (i think, its not definitive yet but it's out of my hands) and i'm apartment searching now which is frustrating because i've moved every year since i was 18 and i would like to just stay in one place for a few more years. the semester is over which is nice but i don't get summer breaks anymore so i can't go home to my parents and see my brother and my dog and i'm kind of sad about it. basically i'm just sad. i've been playing genshin and honkai more than usual and the usual was already a lot but!!! i maxed out all of monstadt finally and a lot of liyue and some of fontaine so that's a fun little thing for my completionist brain to have achieved. one of my clients ghosted me which is fine but i actually really liked her and i wish she came back because i don't really like doing therapy that much and she was the one that i actually enjoyed seeing every week. i want to write so badly but i feel like all the things i've put out recently have been not up to standard and i feel like i've lost the ability to do it (i know that's not true and i will continue writing don't worry!!!). i think that's it.

As someone who doesn't play HSR at all, but learns about it through social media osmosis like through your blog, learning about Penacony, Sunday, Gallagher, Acheron, and Adventurine is really interesting and also kinda funny.

I'm fascinated by the concepts that Penacony brings up, especially the whole thing about Sunday's Sandbox and Dreamscapes. It's getting my brain flowing because it'd be such a fun idea for an AU. Even playing with the implications of the idea based on the HSR characters would also be super interesting to look at. It's also funny because I see a lot of memes of the above characters with little context, and it just makes me laugh.

I just wanted to tell you that I'm enjoying your HSR blogging as a non HSR person.

I've always wondered if I was being annoying with my ramblings here but all of my friends that used to play genshin/hsr are burnt out and not having an outlet to let some steam off is very suffocating. I would've been consistent with my hsr blogging since the game's release but the regions and characters that came before Penacony just didn't interest me much.

If we have anyone to thank, it should be the developers because you can feel the amount of love they put in this specific patch (not saying that they haven't been from the start)

As you said, Penacony really brings so much food for thought, especially for the genre I write for and I really hope the developers never lose their passion :>

Well on the subject of Itto, I headcanon him being 6'6 ft tall... Why??? Because it makes his voiceline about everybody shorter than him being a child really funny. 🤣 Also because he beeg and you can't convince me otherwise SDLFJSDLJGSLDGSD OOOOH Okay this one is very much a headcanon i have for pure self indulgence: So my two genshin blorbos of main focus are Zhongli and Diluc right? I like to headcanon that, at some point after Diluc was nearly killed by the harbingers, he collapsed somewhere near Liyue harbor (His injuries probably weren't directly related to the Harbinger ones, tho it depends on the amount of time it's taken between That incident and him being in Liyue, I think I came up with this idea LONG before i really understood a lot of what Diluc actually did away from home xD) he's found and carried to Liyue, where he's tended to, probably by Baizhu cause I love Baizhu, and recovers. Its here he's visited by Zhongli. Zhongli knew Crepus. Not super well! They weren't besties or nothin, but Crepus would be in Liyue, and Zhongli would be in Liyue, both of them having some level of prestige, Zhongli through his job and Crepus through his Titles, ended up meeting. They would talk and of course that means Zhongli heard about Diluc. Beyond that even, Zhongli was probably vaguely aware of Diluc's existence just from the fact that Crepus is a Ragnvindr, which means gossip/news on his family spreads potentially across the globe. (And maybe Zhongli checked in once in a while out of honor to a dear friend he hadn't seen in five hundred years...) ANYWAYS. Zhongli introduces himself and mentions he knew Crepus. A grieving Diluc probably asks for more information without really knowing if he wants more info or not. Its through this that Zhongli learns of Crepus's passing, and Diluc being less well put together from his injuries, ends up confessing to having hurt Kaeya. He despairs of ever being able to make up for it, to which Zhongli is surprisingly quiet and attentive before finally speaking up: "...Life is short, like the flower, it blooms for a season, blossoms in all its color and beauty, and then it shrivels away on the winds, nothing left of it but the Sweetness of memory." He pauses. "If you care about your brother, than return to him, confess your wrong doings, and don't let the burden of you mistakes carry until such a time as the ability to do something about them is force-ably taken away from your hands." The mans smile is soft, but sad. Not in a pitying way, and not in a way that is even directed at Diluc, if anything, he seems thousands of miles away. "There are fewer burdens, and fewer regrets, that can weigh heavier." This of course creates a fun dynamic to play around with if Lumine or other events drag Diluc to Liyue later >:D As for AU's I can give you two I've dwelled on!: Number one is an Inazuma rewrite, but I bring in a party of my chosing. I started this one before I played the game, so I didn't exaclty understand what went down in the INazuma plot, but Man I was having fun so xD THe party of choice in this case was Zhongli, Diluc, Thoma, and of course Lumine. I had fun with this idea because it allowed Zhongli and Diluc to function in the plot, and Thoma would be WAAAAY more involved as well. I didn't iron out Loads of details, but I wanted there to be a big confrontation between Lumine and Zhongli based off the fact that Azhdaha's quest happened before Inazuma, and before that was uh. THe reveal of Khaenri'ah. Needless to say Lumine's not exactly feeling the greatest about Zhongli. But she considers him a friend, or at least wants too. Zhongli is dealing with the sting of a pre-inazuma plot confrontation from Lumine, where she confessed that she'd have a hard time trusting him if he kept keeping secrets and he couldn't explain himself.

The two of them were planned to get into a huge fight that ALMOST gets physical. But Diluc stops them (Something something he knows making the mistake of attacking someone you love out of fear and broken trust 🙃) This ends up splitting the party for a while, Diluc going off with Zhongli, and Thoma staying with Lumine. Ultimately I wanted this to end with Zhongli getting to have a bit Showdown with Raiden Shogun, essentially kinda getting to brute force his way into her grief. I always loved the idea of the woman who can't move on from grief talking with the man who has suffered so much grief but still lives, this would kinda allow that, it would also allow for Zhongli to be a little bit of a father figure to Ei in her frustrations and grief. Also it would be hilarious if Inazuma kinda knew Rex Lapis was alive... but he kinda saved all their butts, so nobody's going to out him xD This would essentially spiral into a lot of canon divergence plots and development for the cast of characters that's just, not in canon? But man I still think it'd be so fun :D Also Diluc and Ei eventually become friends through this adsflJSFLSJDLGJSLDGJSDGSDG. I think they could help each other :) The SECOND AU is one where, Diluc, on his journey, ends up getting stuck in Inazuma before he can get home. So diluc is visionless, Has the Delusion, and is not in good health. Itto ends up finding him passed out on a beach, drags him back to Granny Oni's, and his gang nurse him back to health all while assuming Diluc was a victim of the Vision hunt decree (i think the vision hunt decree is pretty recent in canon?? This would be an AU where the timeline got bumped up, probably Raiden starts off a lot slower with the vision hunts, only taking a few of them once in a great while to further "eternity" Until she spirals bad enough to start taking them all.... IDK its rough but workable maybe xD) THis AU is mostly for letting Itto bully Diluc into loving himself among other things xD and the angst of it taking even longer for Diluc and Kaeya to reunite...... WHich i would defo make them reunite when Lumine comes over to finally end the Vision hunt decree soooooooooo >:3 Diluc ends up getting adopted by the Arataki gang, by EVERY member, and he's not happy about it (He is, he's just a freaking tsundere)
