Here is my finished list!!!
I'm gonna talk about each tier/entry individually just to go over why I like/love them (also our favs are gonna be diff and if yours aren't on here don't bust a nut or anything)
Constantly Rotating in My Mind:
so this tier is for my absolute favourites, they've pretty much become part of me at this point and I think about them non-stop, starting with;
Bleach (Anime + Manga)
So, where the fuck do I even begin with this one lmfao, Bleach is honestly my top favourite piece of media, ever, to me. everything about this just clicked with me, from the art style to the fights, the music but those aren't what made Bleach my favourite, sure they helped but it wasn't what sold me. What sold me was the characters, from the protagonist Ichigo, to the supporting characters and villains It's the characters in Bleach that always just stood out for me the most and made me love the series, especially their arcs! with Byakuya's probably having my favourite arc, besides Ichigo (but tbh I'm biased with him since he's my fav character) They all just have such believable motivations, goals and relationships. (also quick side note but I'm sick of the Orihime slander y'all better put some respect on her name, just because she got with Ichigo over Rukia and also just because of the anime's adaptation of her.)
Trigun ('98 Anime)
Trigun is honestly a recent addition to the list! I only actually watched it in January this year! But it quickly made list because I found it to be so compelling, it's got it's comedic moments for sure with Vash, Meryl and Millie but its also got such tragedy and sadness in it with not only Vash and Knives relationship (which isn't as explored in '98 as Maximum and Stampede, although you could say that about alot of '98's adaptation) but also with Vash's struggle when he eventually ends up taking a persons life, his relationship with this parental figure, Rem and his best(boy)friend Wolfwood. To the setting! it all just spoke to me and It's quickly ended up becoming my second favourite!
Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime + Manga)
If I had to describe the JJK manga in just one sentence It'd probably be along the lines of "It's so over, we're so back, its over) It's got a lot of peaks and valleys, and I don't mean that in a negative way of it being bad, but in it's triumphant moments and then being cast back down into despair (recent chapters being an example lol) But like Bleach, what I find really compelling about JJK is it's characters! It also has some of the best written characters in an anime, especially its villains! I really like the writing behind them, especially Suguru Geto's corruption into a villain! But also just how messed up the Jujutsu sorcery world and how insane you actually have to be a part of it.
Hellsing (Anime + Manga)
I'll keep this one short, Its Vampire Nazi's vs Dracula, with some badass female characters and music, also its gory as shit 10/10.
My Love Mix-up! (Manga)
This is the first BL manga that I've actually ever read! As someone who has grown up with just a general lack of LGBTQ characters and romance in their media, to find that their is an entire genre of manga for it was really eye-opening! I ended up becoming really invested in the "will they wont they" kind of relationship going on between the 2 MC's for the first few volumes, especially Kōsuke Ida, him navigating that, first of all what does it mean to "like" someone when you've never romantically interested in someone before, but then when that person is same sex. spoke to my own personal experiences growing up. It's what made me like the manga so much, also it's comedic moments! It's actually a very funny manga, especially the side couple.
Full Metal Alchemist (Anime + Manga)
FMA has one of the best stories I've ever seen in an anime/manga, the way it's so inter-connected and all the threads of plot/characters are so weaved together are! so! good! The characters and their arc's! Scar being a prime example of this! (I'm really struggling to articulate why I love this show so much lmao, look I really just love it do I have to justify everything??)
Blue Flag (Manga)
This is a LGBTQ+ story, that I'd actually recommend you just go and read it for yourself! I don't really wanna spoil anything, and if I talk about this manga I will!! just go read it now!!!!! (side note I can't believe the series got cancelled??!!!! like???!!! because of that we really got to miss out on a relationship between 2 characters!!!! and even though they get married at the end!!!!! It's still kinda vague!!!!!)
Chainsawman (Anime + Manga)
Again, one of the thing's that made me absolutely love Chainsawman is the characters, but most of all it's their motivations, and how "human" they are. and by that I mean just so, normal. Which is a weird thing to say, but when the norm for Shonen MC's is that they wanna fight and kill god, having one whose main goal is 1, Touch Boobs, get a girlfriend and have sex, it's really refreshing. It just paint's what a "normal" kid that Denji and the juxtaposition that is towards Aki, whose goal is to kill the Gun Devil. That kind of character writing is a what really drew me into the manga and made me love it. (ALSO I'm vastly oversimplifying thing's bc I don't really wanna spoil so that's just the gist of it) Also like the Found Family of Denji, Aki and Power. But I'm just a sucker for that trope!
I Think Our Son Is Gay (Manga)
This is some REALLY good positive LGBTQ representation, not just from the "MC" of the story Hiroki and him navigating being LGBTQ but from his mother's perspective as she tries be supportive/encouraging of him but also learning about what it means to be LGBTQ and what they face/go through. It's really heart-warming and sweet! I do want to throttle the dad sometimes though, I get that he's (supposed) to be learning and challenging his own bias' but if he upsets Hiroki again he will be catching these hands.
Our Dreams at Dusk (Manga)
Another LGBTQ+ story that I would highly recommend that you just go and read for yourself, It's in my opinion very powerful in it's depictions of the different LGBTQ identities covered in the story, and the struggles they face at the ages that they do! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this one (I believe the author is putting a new series out soon but I need to check up on that)
Castlevania (Anime)
This. Fucking. Series. It's got some absolutely amazing art and animation work on it, that just gets better and better with each subsequent season! Just like the characters! Not only are they just amazingly written with such depth, but their arc's and development are just some of the best in fiction.
Golden Kamuy (Anime + Manga)
Honestly, this is probably the Gayest Anime i've ever watched, without it actually being gay. But also it's probably the funniest anime I've ever watched, I've never laughed as much at something as I have watching this. It's also got a great story with a great kinda Sibling relationship between Sugimoto and Asirpa, and poor Tanigaki, literally the bara comedy relief of the show (Also I believe the author compared the characters dick sizes at one point? its crazy, in a good way.) I'd highly recommend!
Soul Eater (Anime)
Such a unique premise, Death himself runs a school that teaches people, regular school stuff, but also how to fight. Also some of the students can turn into weapons that the other students wield. And the moon has a face. So naturally its very good (also in a roundabout way its the sequel to Fire Force) HOWEVER The manga wasn't done when the series so I'm petitioning for a Soul Eater: Brotherhood so we get the full story!
Mob Psycho 100 (Anime + Manga)
One of my favourite aspects of this show is how it shows that nobody is too far gone, that nobody is beyond redemption and growth as person. It's a message I think a lot of people really need to hear, You can just decide to be a better person and leave the past behind you, while still learning from it. And all it takes is a Middle Schooler beating the shit out of you and calling you lame. (Also WaWa, I'm constantly rotating him in my mind)
given (Anime + Manga)
Pain. just, pain. I really like how the anime (and manga) handle the topics of grief, lose, love and toxicity. But also how to move on from that, how to process it and the importance of knowing how to communicate. It really makes for a beautiful if not incredibly sad story. (also fuck you Kaji, you know what you did.)
Sasaki and Miyano (Anime + Manga)
On the opposite side of the spectrum from given, we get Sasaki and Miyano! It's really just pure fucking fluff. It's a sweet slow-burn love story, that'd I'd really recommend if you like that kind of thing, also the fucking end music slaps.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Anime + Manga)
Ooooh boy. NGE Is an anime that I think everyone takes something different from. whether it's the themes and messages it's trying to convey to the audience, or it's cool visuals or fights. It's got something for everyone. For me it's the message of self-love and acceptance it's conveying to the watcher through the eyes of Shinji, that we all have value and a place in the world, that it's okay for us to be here. But also it's message that escapism isn't a good thing, that we need to face our problems head on instead of hiding away from them. And then the Rebuilds building upon this and giving us even more! I'd highly recommend watching!! Just be a good mental head space lol.
Castle in the Sky (Anime)
The first Ghibli film I ever watched!!! Absolutely fell in love with the art style and animation ever since!
Howls Moving Castle (Anime)
Honestly, same with Castle in the Sky! second Ghibli film I ever watched and fell in love! such gorgeous visuals! and a beautiful story! one of my favourite films of all time!

Etiquette of the Edwardian Era and La Belle Époque: Tea
This is a new set of posts focusing on the period of time stretching from the late 19th century to the early 20th Century right up to the start of WWI. I'll be going through different aspects of life. This series can be linked to my Great House series as well as my Season post and Debutant post.
Today will be focusing on the rules of tea with this time period.
Tea was a staple in society, not only as a comforting beverage but as a social gathering beset by strict rules. Etiquette at tea is not only important for guests but is a sign of respect to one's host.
High Tea vs Afternoon Tea
You're reading both terms and you're thinking high tea is the formal version and afternoon is informal. In fact, no. It is the opposite. High tea was actually served far later, about 6pm/7pm and focused on more savoury, substantial dishes. High tea was more of a lower class tradition, designed to fill the stomachs of hungry workers. The word "high" is derived from the tall tables used. Afternoon tea is served at 4pm, designed to fill the gap between lunch and dinner. Afternoon tea is served at low tables with all the guests seated and involve a lighter meal, more nibbles than anything.
Hosting and Attending Tea
Tea is an event that happens every day, it's not an excuse for a snack, it's a ritual. One can have tea served in one's own home or at the home of a friend. One must be invited to tea, one can't just show up and expect to get fed. Tea was typically served in libraries or drawing rooms and done times outside in the gardens if weather permits. One had to dress for tea usually in comfortable but appropriate clothing. Men would wear suits, women would wear tea gowns or a simple gown - keeping their hats upon their head, if they are visiting. Tea was not poured by the footman but by the host or if it is a large party, by one assigned guest. The hostess or designated tea pourer would serve themselves last.
The Tea Set
Tea sets are highly coveted and much remarked upon at tea. One would usually inherit a service (that's what the collection was called) or be gifted it at one's wedding. Services would all match and most households had different kinds, the best usually reserved for important guests.
Teapot: the tea pot held the hot water and tea leaves was was usually made of china and decorated.
Cups: the cups were generally low, shallow.
Saucer: a small plate for the cup to rest on
Tea cannister: where dried tea leaves would rest until needed.
Sugar bowl: was a small container made of china with a cover to protect the sugar from moisture.
Milk jug: a container for the milk
Slop basin: was a porcelain dish used for disposing tea leaves left behind with the dregs of tea.
Tea spoon: small spoon used to stir tea
Side Plate: small serving plate used for food.
As you might have noticed, other than a tea spoon, cutlery is not listed. There would be a spoon for jam and a knife for a scone, most food was designed to be eaten with one's hands.
There is also one instrument not listed here and it's the most recognisable thing at afternoon tea.
The Tiered Tray
The tiered tray is a set of trays stacked upon one another holding on each one, a different course. Sandwiches and savouries were served on the bottom (Favourites include smoked salmon, cucumber, cress, egg salad sandwiches), scones on the second and sweeter delights served on the top (sponge cake, macaroons, pastries etc). One would begin ay the bottom and work one's way upward.
Making the Perfect Cup of Tea in the Edwardian Era/Belle Epoque/Gilded Age
Disclaimers: Let's make one thing clear. Tea is not prepared one way for all. Tea is culturally important across the world and every culture has their own rules about how tea is consumed and served. There's no one right way.
I will be discussing the English way of brewing tea in this post.
As mentioned before, tea is held in a cannister before use. Tea leaves were added to the hot water and lightly stirred.
Controversially for most people, milk was commonly added first.
One would then set a strainer in one's cup, tilting the pot. The strainer will catch the leaves and leave your cup almost tea-pulp free.
With the tea added, one could add in sugar. The trick is not to make a show about it or be too loud. One simply should gently turn your spoon from the 6 o'clock position to the 12 o'clock position. Also, the spoon rests on the saucer when not in use and doesn't stay in your cup.
When drinking your tea, put your pinky down. That's an American myth. Simply lift your cup to you, lifting the cup to your mouth by the handle. Saucers are not lifted unless your cup is far away. Don't slurp it, there's plenty more where that came from.
Etiquette at Tea
Afternoon tea is for light conversation, do avoid heavy topics.
Listen attentively when being spoken to.
Don't talk with your mouth full or stuff your mouth. Typically everything should be polished off with 2-3 bites.
Gloves should be removed at tea because one is eating with their fingers.
If one is leaving the table to go to the bathroom or a breath of air, simply turn to your neighbours and excuse yourself. No explanation needed.
Napkins should be removed from the table and set across one's lap when one is sitting down. When finished with tea, set it beside your plate before you rise.
Also you daub, not smear.
Don't cut your scone but break it.
Don't lick your fingers.
Don't bang the spoon on the side of the cup.
Also there's no dunking biscuits into your tea. It's just not done at afternoon tea.
Never thank the staff for fetching anything - or at very least, don't be overhead doing so.
Always say your goodbyes to the hostess and compliment the tea, even if you had a rubbish time.
Also most importantly, never criticise somebody else's manners. That's the height of rudeness.

Boda Persona Chart Analysis II
Boda (1487) is an asteroid discovered in 1938 by Karl Willhelm Reinmuth in Germany. It was named this way after Karl Boda. Boda in Spanish means "wedding", so it was natural for this asteroid to represent that. Boda is an asteroid we look at when we want to know more about what kind of wedding one will have. The Boda Persona Chart also means the same thing, and it gives more details about one's special day.
Someone asked me to make more observations for Boda PC. Unfortunately I don't have many people around me who have been married already. So I'll take my Boda Persona Chart, despite that i'm not married yet. If I do get married, it will be an occasion to come back on it later lol!

₊˚⊹♡ Moon 8H could mean the same thing!
₊˚⊹♡ Capricorn 10H 29° can mean many people wish they could be invited to the wedding. The wedding will have the reputation of being a high class wedding or a wedding everyone will talk about. Even people who are not invited.
₊˚⊹♡ 11H Aquarius could mean the guests will be people the couple love very much, and they consider their friends. The guests could come from different area of the world, different work area, different social classes, etc.
₊˚⊹♡ 11H's Ruler in the 10H could mean some guests could be famous or well known to the public.
₊˚⊹♡ 10H's ruler in the 12H could mean the wedding will def be a private one.

(LONG THREAD AHEAD)
I pitched the idea for "regional" Saiyans. Saiyans who evolve and adapt to their settled climates. Whis tells Goku and Vegeta that there are smaller Saiyan tribes that inhabit other less universes (not just U6).
These Saiyans inhabit a water/ice-based planet. They're based off of Japanese macaques or "hot spring monkeys". Naming system has been after bathroom products. They're super lazy but can inflict heavy damage if you engage a fight with them.
Planet Sento is predominantly an ice planet. The tropical hot springs are made from volcanic vents underneath that melt the ice of the surrounding area. Sentos have thick skin and fur and are accustomed to the scalding temperatures of the springs.
They're classified in roles: Therapies, Offense troopers, transporters, and Elders. Transporters are the Sento Saiyans with the thickest coasts who haul resources or thinner coat Saiyans to and from neighboring tribes. Offense Troopers are usually male/females with thick-enough coats who protect the Transporters. Therapies are females with thinner coats that can't venture through the arctic areas and they perform massage therapy on the troopers or transporters. If a Sento Oozaru is calmed enough from thrashing by soaking in the hot springs, Therapies swoop in to try and revert it back to base form using head scritches or giant leaf fanning.
Their courting/mating practices consist of top-tier acrobatic performances to impressing mates. Hetero/Homosexual relationships accepted.
They only really turn into Oozarus if you agitate them or they can't get access into the hot springs. Their skin and fur is thick enough to take the boiling temps of the spring but can scald regular skin. The spring has senzu-bean and muscle stimulator properties.
They don't really speak a lot since they sleep most of the time so they use ASL to communicate most of the time.
Powerwise I'd place them at SSJ3 level only when they're active fighting. They're fight primal style at ground-base. They cannot fly but can launch themselves in momentum. They can't sense energy but go by scent.
Main thing is Super forms. They do not physically turn into the forms. They learn to use the form's properties. (stamina\ki control\moveset). Think Ikari Broly. The only indicator of what form they're utilizing is eye color. If they're using SSJ, their eye color will change to the form's eye color.
In origins, there were a group of og saiyans that served under Vegeta's Great Grandfather and they decided to step away from the throne. They were exiled and accidentally discovered beings who could travel between universes at will. They had no desire to come back with Cold's regime active.

Plot: You are a rookie coming into the 2022 season of Formula One into Alfa Romeo with team member Zhou Guanyu, being in a mid tier team can you help them rise up the ranks. What pressures occur for the only rookies within the 2022 line up!

You were currently in your hotel room in Saudi Arabia deciding what outfit to where. Yxou ended up wearing dark red, leather pants with a white top. You wanted to stick to Alfa Romeo colours tonight which is where the outfit inspiration had come from.
You were in the lobby before everyone, a few people staying at the hotel asked you for pictures and signatures which you happily did. You waited until Charles and Carlos came down, Zhou trailing behind them.
"Zhou explained you were already down here when Carlos refused to leave without you" Charles laughed, thinking of how Zhou had walked out a minute later after hearing the constant knocking on your door and had followed the other two down here.
"Yeah, I started getting ready really early because I'm so hungry, the complimentary peanuts and Kit-Kit unfortunately didn't tide me over" you smile.
"Not too much longer till the others get here!" Zhou says, checking his phone to see if any had text him to tell him they were on their way down.
"Pierre just messaged me, they are all on their way down now. Daniel apparently lost his wallet?" Charles says, seeing what Zhou was doing and thought that maybe he might have a message.
"Amazing!" you grin excitedly.
Only a few minutes later are Pierre, Yuki, Lando and Daniel all joined with the rest of you. You pull each of them into a hug placing a light kiss as a greeting on their cheeks.
"Please tell me you guys are ready for food?" you ask, hoping that the answer would be yes and that you could all Uber over to the restaurant that had been left to Carlos and Daniel to find.
"Yes, I'm starved! I have eaten since after the race!" Lando says slinging an arm around your shoulder walking you to the front of the hotel.
"I'll book mine, Charles, Y/n and Zhou's car. Daniel are you good to do the rest?" Carlos huff's he of course wanted you in his car so he could sit next to you.
But as luck had it, or well, his friends. Zhou and you went straight in the back together when the car pulled up out the front of the hotel. Camera's from all around flashed as you both dived into the car. Charles practically legged it round the other side to sit on your otherside so he didn't have to sit next the driver and make awkward conversation.
"Really Charles?" Carlos frowns as Charles rolls down the window.
"I can sit in the front if its an issue" you smile, already starting to unbuckle prepared to slide over Charles to get out of the car and take the seat Carlos was huffing about.
"No its alright" Carlos smiles before going round to the front passenger side. You lock eyes with him in the rearview mirror and give him a massive grin. He smiles back, but it doesn't reach his eyes like it normally does.
You give him a questioning look but he turns his attention to the driver explaining where the restaurant was.
"Let's take a selfie" Zhou says taking out his phone on the camera app. As you were sat in the middle you lean closer to your team-mate smiling while Charles pulled his arm around your shoulder to do bunny ears above Zhou. You guys take a few pictures all laughing at the expressions being pulled.
"Wait that second one is so cute! Can you send them all to me, I want to post those on my Instagram!" you smile looking at the photos.
"Y/N take one with me" Carlos says holding up his phone. You pull your red shaded sunglasses down and place either arm around the shoulders of Charles and Zhou who lean into the picture while you lean back as casually as possible.
Getting to the venue was quick and painless, you were seconds behind the other car. You all walked into the restaurant, asking for the booking for eight people.
You all order with the help of the waiter giving his recommendations to which you all order sides plates to share on the table.
"So, Y/N what are you doing before Australia" Daniel asks, obviously it was easy for him, as he would already be there ready for the race that was in 2 weekends time.
"Oh, well I'm not sure If they'll want me and Zhou in Switzerland for a day or two. But i think I may go back to London for a little, or I don't know a last minute trip somewhere a little warmer" you smile.
"Oh you could come too..." Carlos starts about to extend an offer for you to come to Spain for a few days to his family home if you wanted too.
"You guys are eating here too?" you hear and you look away from Carlos seeing Lewis, Fernando and Sebastian. The later two says there hellos with a few fist bumps and shoulder hugs before following after the waitress who kindly waited for them while they talked.
Lewis nodded at them, and stayed behind to talk to the others knowing he'd find them later.
"You found this place too?" you ask. Lewis nods with his typical bright and dazzling smile.
"Yeah, under recommendations of people in the hotel" he admits, which is pretty much exactly where you guys had gotten it from.
"Did i just hear you saying you wanted to go somewhere warmer before Australia" Lewis asks.
"Oh yeah, i think Carlos was just about to add something, what were you saying?" you ask wanting to know what the Spaniard was going to say.
"Oh, nothing it isn't ..." he trails off looking down at the piece of bread that he was currently buttering.
"No no! You said i could come to...??" you push, you were hoping he might say he was going on vacation, even if it was with the others and was going to offer you to come.
But honestly your family always tended to be really busy when you came home so you always felt really alone.
"I was going to say you could come back to Spain with me for a bit, its warmer, even in April" he says not making eye contact with you.
"And you've always got the offer of California with me" Lewis smiles before looking away to find where the other two drivers he was with had gone.
"Or China will be pretty warm, your more than welcome to come back with me. I'm not going to Sheffield" Zhou smiles, and you were so thankful that all of these people had these offers up for you.
"Monaco is also free, I still need to show Lando a little more if you would like to join, maybe check out future property investments" Charles says wiggling his eyebrows at you, a laugh coming from your mouth before taking a sip of the new wine that had been delivered to you table.
"Now that would be fun. Then we can all haggle a ride with Max" Lando admits sipping at his coke.
"Or Australia will take you early..." Daniel says, which you know you'd end up quad-biking and playing tennis with him while begging to get all the spiders away from you.
"Well I have plenty of places to go, thank you for all the offers" you smile nodding at Lewis who said goodbye to everyone before walking away.
"Hmmmm what to do with the break now" you swish your wine round locking eyes with Carlos, whose cheeks had reddened.
"We're all going to be fighting for you, but maybe it will be better for you to come to Monaco afterwards before Italy so its a bit closer?" Lando says, thinking of the logistics behind it.
"Yeah i guess it would make more sense for you to do China with Zhou now, and then do Australia afterwards before Imola, then do Miami with Lewis, then do Spain with Carlos and then Monaco with these us too" Charles admits agreeing with Lando.
"What about us?" Yuki asks frowning feeling left out and Pierre nods along with him.
"You guys can fight that out, I'm having no part of this. It's whoever makes the best offer" you laugh, thanking the waiter as he starts to place down some of the meals.
"I'LL TAKE YOU TO SHANGHAI DISNEY" Zhou blurts out making everyone else stop what they had started to add to their small side plates.
"Fuck sake man, she loves Disney no-ones gonna top that!" Daniel argues and shakes his head.
"That's just ridiculous, I mean, I can take you to Disneyland Paris" Pierre offers, knowing that his girlfriend would also love to go and that he could force Charles to come along.
"Well, I could take her to Tokyo Disney guys ..." Yuki admits, thinking that he hasn't actually been there since he was a kid.
"Welp, whose going to step up and take her to Disney World... that's like the best one right?" Lando admits, before tilting his head to the side in a thinking face.
"I can offer you UK Alton Towers ... take it or leave it" Lando admits, trying not to laugh.
"My god, not even Thorpe Park..." you sigh dramatically.
"I do not know any theme parks in Spain... so erm I offer you a meal with my family cooked by my mother and be able to meet my dog ..." Carlos laughs scooping some more food onto his plate.
"See that does sound appealing..." you smile looking up at him catching his gaze.
"More appealing than a trip to Disney..." Daniel asks in shock, as they all knew how much you loved it. In F2 you were found in your drivers room listening to the Little Mermaid soundtrack.
"Mmmm it depends, will going from Spain to Australia be easier than China to Australia. It's all things I've gotta take into consideration" you smirk, Zhou right noe was your closest friend, the timeline of your careers was very similar, you stepped into Karting together, then moved to F3 together and then F2. So the fact that you were driving together now in a team meant the world too you.
But making new friends and new bonds, was arguably just as important.
Towards the end of the meal, you'd got a phone call from your mum. You politely excused yourself before answering the phone, everyone watched as your facial expression changed with the call, it went from pleasant to upset to angry very quickly.
"What do you think's happening?" Daniel asked.
"Between us, Y/N had a rough childhood growing up, both her parents were pretty absent and she came to live with me for a bit in our teens because they worked all the time. That's how she's managed to even afford the seat but its at the cost of having to raise herself" Zhou explained sadly, everyone seeing you in a different light, it explained the days you would run into karting late, or not have anyone there cheering you on so Zhou's parents actually started to cheer for the both of you.
They watch as you cut the call, nodding your head.
Your plans were completely ruined. You'd have to fly to Switzerland first thing tomorrow with Zhou for a factory debrief and then you'd leave to go back home at the request of your parents...
"Welp, Disney or Spain are off the table ..." you say looking down sadly as you walk back in slumping in your seat.
"What happened?"
"The one time, i plan something with my friends and they want to catch up?" you huff not understanding the way the universe was working right now, it sure wasn't in your favour.
"There's 365 days of the year, there are lots of days for Disney" Carlos comforts you rubbing your arm, making you lean further into the needed comfort.
"Well, I'll come back with you I guess. My mum will be there anyone, to get some house bits sorted. Then I'll go to China" he smiles knowing you'd be happier to get the flight with him.

hyunjin rubbed his fingers over that one spot on his collarbone. i remember we broke into. i remember we broke into. i remember we broke into. those words, the half of a whole, were the only tie he had to you. touching that engraving on his flesh was the closest he could come to being held by you, and he craved that comfort the most when his heart raced like this.
today was the kind of day hyunjin wished would wrap up sooner than later. he knew it wouldn’t, not when the sun had only recently risen and his day had started hours ago. days like this, full of schedules, full of practice, full of work, full of stress–these were the days that went on forever. adrenaline and caffeine buzzed through his body. hyunjin was ready to race through the day, fully aware that his limbs would ache at the finish line, leaving him with nothing to do but collapse into rest as soon as it was over.
i remember we broke into. i remember we broke into. i remember we broke into.
hyunjin had missed chan calling his name five times, forcing his eyes to turn in the general direction of chan’s whereabouts when he finally replied, “yeah?”
“we are going to the convenience store. want to come with?”
chan’s question came out as more of a suggestion, and hyunjin did not need much convincing to get a change of scenery. he caught up with his members, walking quickly at the back of the group, his feet falling on the ground in a steady beat of i remember we broke into. maybe the stress had his mind too jumbled to be down on earth. maybe he was lost in questions of what in the world the other half of that quote could be. maybe he was annoyed that he forgot to bring his good sunglasses on a day the sun was shining brightly. maybe he simply yearned for his bed and a break. regardless of the reason, something preoccupied hyunjin, which caused him to bump his shoulder against someone else’s body.
“ah!” hyunjin grabbed his shoulder.
“i’m sorry! are you okay?”
one of your hands clasped the shoulder with which you had hit hyunjin. in your other hand, you held something that captured all of hyunjin’s attention: a banana man plushie, fitted with a deadpan expression and a bright yellow hoodie. hyunjin, without registering much else of the situation, burst out laughing. you were surprised by this, to say the least. however, once you followed his gaze and saw that he couldn’t take his eyes off your friend’s birthday gift in your hand, you burst into laughter yourself. that banana man, in that moment, was the funniest thing in the world. you and hyunjin knew that for a fact when you felt your stomachs cramp and ache from the laughter. the way that you two were giggling and fighting for air was nothing short of contagious, so all the people walking around you started to believe that the plushie was top-tier entertainment. not that either of you noticed, when all of your attention was focused on something special between you.
hyunjin took a gasp of air he desperately needed. while the banana man was captivating, he looked toward the source of the laughter that mixed so sweetly with his own, and he found you. for the first time that day, his eyes completely focused on the world in front of him. hyunjin couldn’t look away, and, heart fluttering with a joy and excitement he didn’t quite understand, he smiled and savored the sound of your final chuckles. after you caught your breath, you absentmindedly massaged the point of contact on your shoulder, and you waited for hyunjin to answer your previous question. he stared at you, confusion furrowing his brow slightly, until he felt a small pang in his shoulder and remembered you two had just crashed into each other.
“yeah, yeah, i–i am. sorry, are you..are you okay?”
you nodded, endeared by his light laughs lingering in the air, the way he stumbled over words as he caught his breath, and his brown eyes. there was a pause, so you moved your hand away from your shoulder to grab your bag, though you had absolutely no intention to leave. something held you there; this moment between you and the beautiful boy in front of you wasn’t meant to end yet (or, at least, you weren’t ready for it to). unbeknownst to you, that simple movement of your hand revealed a tattoo just like hyunjin’s. the words were different, but the script, placement, size, and even the slant of it beneath your collarbone was a mirror image of the words hyunjin carried on his body.

hyunjin’s heart raced.
laughter when we saw each other.
his pulse found a new rhythm, one his mind fell perfectly into step with, as his eyes danced across each letter on your skin.

hyunjin’s jaw dropped. you looked back at the wide-eyed man, unsure as to why you telling him that you were okay after your collision was shocking news.
“i remember we broke into laughter when we saw each other,” hyunjin said softly.
you heard him perfectly clear, though you weren’t entirely sure what he meant by that, so you teased him, “we did just see each other, so i hope you’d remember that.”
he smiled, another quick laugh falling from his lips as he moved his shirt collar to reveal the words on his collarbone, “i remember we broke into laughter when we saw each other.”
now your jaw dropped, “oh my god.”
a flurry of butterflies unleashed in hyunjin’s stomach because he couldn’t believe how cute you looked when shock and wonder filled your expression, but he managed to ask, “do you know what it’s from?”
“no, i–”
your answer was interrupted by chan calling out hyunjin’s name. hyunjin whipped his head toward him, signaled with a wave of his hand that he’d be there shortly, and returned his attention to you. you stared at his collarbone, seeing the tattooed words clearly, despite the fabric of his shirt covering them. he giggled as he reached his hand out to you, a new contact page opened on his phone.
without having to think, you accepted the phone and typed in your number, “i don’t think i’ve heard that before.”
“well, i have to go back to work, but would you be able to look it up and send me what you find?”
“of course,” your fingertips brushed against his when you handed the phone back, and you smiled brightly in response to the soft electricity.
“i’m hyunjin.”
“i’m y/n.”
he inhaled as though he were smelling freshly baked bread, and serenity washed over him, “i’ll see you soon, y/n.”
“i sure hope so, with us being soulmates and all.”
he laughed as he waved goodbye, and you laughed as you watched him walk away. i remember we broke into laughter when we saw each other.
unable to resist the temptation, you stepped out of the flow of pedestrians and typed those words into the search bar. Ada Limón’s “What I Didn’t Know Before” popped up immediately. reading the last four lines over and over again, you felt butterflies swarm your stomach and certainty rush through your heart.
“I remember we broke into laughter /
when we saw each other. What was between /
us wasn't a fragile thing to be coddled, cooed /
over. It came out fully formed, ready to run."
this poem was, without a doubt in your mind, the correct solution to the question you had been asking your whole life. you also knew, without a doubt in your mind, hyunjin was the right person to hold your heart, after it had been calling out to someone from its first beat. you sent hyunjin a link to the poem, holding on tightly to the banana man plushie as you walked toward your next destination.

hello folks! I hope that January has treated you all well and that the beginning of 2024 has been kind to you so far. welcome to the second public update for larkin's monthly development of 2024!
Personally, January seemed to fly by for me, and while it did provide a lot of time for work, it also posed some challenges and taught me a few things. The first of which, is the fact that the new Larkin is a //big// undertaking, bigger than I think even I realized when I first set out on this journey. While turning Larkin into an RPG, with dice rolls, stat checks and the like is a decision that I'm still very happy with and proud of my progress on--it's going slower than I'd necessarily like. To illustrate this to you, the prologue of Larkin currently sits at about 55k words, while the original twine prologue was at just about 21k words in it's complete scope. The big difference there being, in those original 21k words I managed to get the plot moving and the Preacher and Wyatt on their way to Nevada, but in the time that I've been working on the RPG version of Larkin, I've only just about gotten finished with the first major encounter. It's slow going, and I'm working really hard to ramp up the production speed--adjusting my schedule to wake up at 5:00 am to work for a few hours before work and school, and then coming home and working on larkin until about 1:30 am (as much I hate this fact, I //do// in fact need //some// sleep.) Even with all of my free time dedicated to work on Larkin or catching those few precious hours of sleep, I'm still not entirely happy with the speed at which I'm working on it--and I'm still experimenting to try and figure out what works best that helps me produce quality work with a quick turn-around.
That being said, one of my new systems I've implemented to try and alleviate my production stress is that I've started dropping two updates to the game every week. The first update comes on Thursdays and is called what I've dubbed a 'Bulk' Update, it essentially builds on the choices/routes that have already been presented to the player, giving you room to explore your environment/develop your character compared to the Sunday 'Streamline' Update, that furthers along the plot of the story. Later tonight I'll be posting an update roadmap for the month of February on Patreon.
Other brief updates about the progress of the game. For one, I've been working with two artists—one who is producing some art that'll be used as future patreon physical rewards and another who's putting together portraits of all the game's main characters that I am. Sickeningly excited about, considering that this artist is my current favorite working artist of all time. In total there's going to be sixteen character portraits that you'll be able to unlock throughout the course of the game, with slight variations depending on our relationship with that character. Other than that, me and my assistant Phillip are in the process of really trying to build a bigger social media presence for Larkin, so we'll be launching twitter/threads/bluesky/instagram and editing the tiktok pages for Larkin, that I'll drop in a card later tonight as well. I’ve also introduced another patreon tier of $1 for those of you who are wanting more consistent updates on the game development on Patreon!

Wholesome baby man Engie loves affection. Like Spy, he is a gentleman so he won't be too overly affectionate with you when in a public setting. If you choose to love all over him in front of people, he'll get flustered but won't stop it. Definitely loves holding hands. It's simple but gets the message across
B: Best Friend (What would they be like a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Top tier bestie. He never looks down on people for being different and he's such a great support system. The friendship was bound to happen when you meet him due to his kind nature. Bonus points if you are into mechanical stuff as well. You two would be sitting together around some blueprints, trying to create new inventions or build something crazy

He would like to settle down but kinda feels too old to be settling down. Top tier cooking and amazing at cleaning and organizing. He's the house husband of the mercs, they'd all be nothing without him. But he really is someone worth coming home too. Man's too adorable
E: Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
I'd say he's the most mature about it. He's like Medic where relationships tend to not last long cause of his work and how it tends to be his main focus. He's quick to the point, feeling bad about it but understanding it needs to be done. I'd say it doesn't take him long to recover from it.
F: Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
Take commitment very seriously. He'd love to be able to get married to the one he considers his soulmate. Engie is someone who'd wait a good few years before considering marriage. He just wants to be sure.
G: Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Definitely the most gentle of all nine mercs. Again, he's a great support system. He's naturally gentle with his pertners, treating them with respect and always trying to be there for them. He's a great person to go to even if you just need to vent. Gives some of the best advice needed
H: Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Loves to give hugs. I'd say he does it often no matter where you are and who's around. He's got them comforting hugs, warm and strong. Man's giving dad vibes off and I'm going with it.
I: I Love You (How fast do they say the L-Word?)
It would take a few months into the relationship for him to say it. He feels he has to say it first since it's the gentlemanly thing to do. He'd wait until you two are all cuddled up for the night before saying it. Absolutely flustered after saying it. Cheeks pink, holding you tighter. Just a cute little moment between the two of you
J: Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
I don't really see Engie as the jealous type. I'll elaborate later but he's someone who has more of a God-complex if anything. Why would you ever wanna settle for less? He knows no one else is on his level and he knows how to treat his partner right. So he never worries about any sort of competiton. But if he were to ever be jealous, he has his ways of taking care of the problem
K: Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
Cute and wholesome. Loves to give his partner a kiss on the cheek. It's easy for when you guys are both busy and can't stand and talk for a bit. A quick kiss on the cheek and he's off to do whatever he was doing. God, I can't stop picturing this man as an innocent ball of wholesomeness when he's basically the opposite
L: Little Ones (How are they around kids?)
Man, he's great with kids. Makes a damn good father figure. Is someone who'd would try to get the kiddies into STEM. Teaching them how to build simple things like little homemade rockets. Making sure they eat and are taken care of. He's EVERYONE'S dad
M: Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
He's one of the first mercs up and ready for the day. He'd have breakfast made, a pot of coffee brewed, and in his workshop tinkering with his inventions. His days are always spent in his workshop, he'd have a seat ready for you so you can hang out with him
N: Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Nights are spent trying to get him out of said workshop. He's always couped up in there and loses treack of time. So you'll have to convince him that it's time for bed. He tends to stay on the workshop til he's finished with whatever project he's working on, it's a bad habit of his
O: Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait awhile to reveal things slowly?)
It happens over time, though it doesn't take too long. He likes to tell stories of when he was a child, helping his Father out with building sentries.
P: Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Engie's someone who takes a lot to anger, though he has his moments. The quickest way to anger him is by messing with his stuff. He can't stand when Scout comes into his workshop, looking for something, and then trashes the workshop. He makes Scout clean it up each time while making snide remarks at the youngster
Q: Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every detail in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
You take one look at this man and tell me. This man has, what, like 11 PHDs. Of course he's got a damn good memory. He's got the memory of an elephant, never forgets anything. If he were to not remeber something, it's cause he learned the info when he was drunk. Good luck trying to catch this man lacking cause it almost never happens
R: Remember (What is their favourite moment in your relationship?)
When you two were in his workshop and he was teaching you some of the basics of his inventions. Having you help out a little while he did most of the work. He enjoys spending quality time with his partner. It's the little things that wins his heart over
S: Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
I'd say he's a little more on the protective type. He knows you can take care of yourself but he likes protecting you. It fuels his ego. He'd be such a flustered mess if you protect him. It was something he wasn't expecting so he was thrown so off gaurd. He appreciates it though and make sure to make it up to you for it
T: Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, and everyday tasks?)
He likes to have quiant little dates. A home cooked dinner, watch a movie while cuddled up, just spending time together. When it comes to gifts, he likes to make them. He feels they matter more when they're made by his own hand
U: Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
It's his God-complex. He thinks he's better than everyone and no one comes near his level of intelligence. And, like the other mercs, he's a bit of a psychopath and you know damn well he could make Saw-esque traps to use out on the battlefield or to "take care" of those who hurt his partner
V: Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Meh, he's too busy with other things. He's just not too worried about his looks when he's inventions to work on. There's not much to say on the matter ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
W: Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Meh, he can handle going a while without seeing you. He's use to it. And if the relationship ends, he'll be sad about it for a bit but he'll be fine
X: Xtra (A random headcanon for them)
I really like the idea of Engie being two-faced. Like, he makes himself seem like such a nice guy, but then he's also this cruel, semi-obsessed, deranged man who will gladly make his own Saw traps to torture those who've wronged him or his partner. It makes a good yandere scenario for me
Y: Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
He doesn't like people who think they're better than him. If he were to catch someone messing with his sentries or other inventions, claiming that he did it wrong or they're fixing it, he'd beat them to death with his wrentch. Again, God-complex
Z: Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)
Sleep? What sleep? Another one with a fucked sleep schedule. He can't help it. He's the type to be like "just one more (insert thing here)" and then all the sudden instead of it being midnight, it's 3pm and he's missed out on a whole night's sleep and gets yelled at by Medic

Chapter 11 Progress [25/MAR]
Hey everyone, I hope your spring has started well 🌻
As for me, I have a lot of good news to share!! After a short writing break post CH10 release, I wrapped up some uni coursework, which freed up my schedule for the next several months. Starting from this week I'm full steam ahead on CH11, and have already written 13k words for it!!
That's way more than I estimated I would have for March, so I hope I'll make it close to 20k by the start of April. If I can keep this pace up for the next two months, then I'll be able to post CH11 by early June 🙏🏼
What you can expect from CH11
As you can probably tell from how differently CH10 ended depending on your LI, each LI route will have very different opening scenes as a result.
It also has additional, major varying scenes depending on if your Crown has a high romance or a low romance. The low variants for the romances haven't had major consequences so far, aside from some differences in how the relationship is progressing, but CH11 is where it gets REALLY real.
I sincerely hope you'll consider having a separate low romance save for your Crown, because the differences between a low and high relationship in CH11 are going to be pretty huge.
Not irreversibly huge, mind you, but "this scene has a separate variable that will make the game remember whether your relationship was high or low at this point in time and how it all went down" in the future. Even if you switch to a high romance later on, your LI will still remember how your Crown handled this scene 👀
And don't worry, the choices regarding this scene will be VERY clear in terms of their effects on the romance. So if you want to intentionally craft a messy route that still leads to a good ending, or if you just want to go for a complete trainwreck of a romance, here's your chance lol.
First up: X's route!
In terms of specifics, I've written bits and pieces for each LI over my supposed writing break (lol), but since I've started working on CH11 in earnest, I've started off with X's route first.
This is because X's route has the most ANNOYING variants in it haha. The opening for X's route features the Imperial Court, which has to take a lot of player choices into account (Office of Law, Lady Naza, possible alliance with the royal historians).
It is a relatively short scene since the court meeting is very spontaneous, and players on other LI routes will also see the choices they made reflected in the Imperial Court on the main plot path. But it involves a lot of writing, especially since I have to write a low romance variant and a high romance variant for it 😭
On the upside, I'm practically done with it!! I'm hopeful I'll be able to move onto writing X's major romance scene tomorrow, then switch to another LI's opening scene by the end of next week. I'm thinking R next.

AAAAAHHH!!! Mer au be upon ye
Been working on designs for my fanfic (that I'll probably be rewriting I don't like how I characterized them).... fish archie.
He's based on a Demanson's Cichlid :3 which are. really difficult to draw for some reason

Archie is currently 37 years old in this au (unless I change it. LOL)
Him, along with Matt and Shelly (and maybe other members of team aqua in the rewrite. idk), live in the wreckage of a ship fairly deep underwater, choosing to stay as far away from humans as possible. In contrast to this, Maxie and his group take more inspiration from humans in their little settlement thingy, choosing to take scraps of metal and other things to build their home.
Most merfolk live in groups called pods, in the rework of the fanfic I'll elaborate more on this but. I'm lazy right now. Sorry.
Anyways Archie is generally more like??? adventurous and stuff, and him and the other members of his pod are like. really tight-knit. They're also generally more muscular than the members of Maxie's group, choosing to hunt fish & other prey using their own strength and speed, whereas the magmas use traps and stuff.
Also. Maxie has a collection of little human trinkets and stuff. Most of the space in his den/house thing is just like. trinkets. He also has a very unfriendly relationship with dolphins. I admittedly haven't done much with it in the original since it's... y'know... one chapter at the moment... but ill do more in the rewrite i prommy.
ANYWAYS!!!! Fish beam blast MAXIE
He's a common mudskipper. I love common mudskippers and just mudskippers in general really. Top tier fish.
He doesn't have glasses because. reasons involving the fact that he lives in the ocean.
However. I plan on giving him glasses eventually, he'll probably find a pair and think "Oh joy!! A new human invention I have not yet seen! Joyous day!!" and he decides to constantly wear them even though they make his vision like, ten times Worse.

This is my "behind the scenes" series where I indulge myself horribly by annotating my fics.
I haven't figured out the best way to cover multi-chapter fics, especially behemoths like Nature and Nurture or The Return, so this is a test. I'll start with chapter one and reblog with additions for each chapter, I think. If there's a better way, please send suggestions.

Chapter One
My very first fic ever. I got obsessed with reading fic for a few months (thanks to @audreycritter's Cor Et Cerebrum and @unpretty's Sorrowful and Immaculate Hearts, and finally needed a little bit of output to balance out the input. It wasn't really planned, which is why my name is what it is. I'd made the lurker account to do just that and nothing more. Which feels a little silly now, five years and almost 100 fics later. 😬
The title comes from the Ryan Higgins picture book, because titles are harrrrrrd.
I think this is my only fic with chapter names, other than The Return.
He knew how it felt--that teeth-rattling, rib-crushing, pulse-racing sensation--and he knew how to push through it.
You see? You see how new I was at this? I hadn't even looked up the em-dash shortcut yet.
"And I don’t care if Arthur Pennypacker says gelato contains the required daily serving of calcium. Alfred will not let you survive on gelato alone.”
I am going to try very hard to be proud of this, my little baby fic, and not critical, but it's going to be very difficult when I clearly had to pluck a name out of thin air and ended up with Arthur Pennypacker being discussed in the same scene where Alfred Pennyworth exists. Yeesh.
"Art’s the fathead that stole Eddie’s gym shorts and ran them up the Academy flagpole.”
I wrote a joke poem about this kind of scenario for school once and it got published as part of a contest. Reduce reuse recycle.
The grin was still there, a bright smile full of pleasantly crooked teeth that leaned into each other like birds in a winter wind, but the corner of Jason’s mouth twisted hesitantly.
If I were doing this again, I'd make Jason a little less golly gee mister in tone, but at least he's precious.
Jason had always been gifted at picking up the scent of unease. Dick, Bruce’s outgoing ward, could read emotions. Jason could read tells.
Now that's clever, if I do say so myself. Good job, Amateur Me.
Jason dropped his spoon back in the empty gelato cup and ran his fingers over the stitching of the baseball on the table.
I reference that ball later in another fic and for the life of me right now I can't remember which one. Ah well. Put a pin in this. You'll see it again.
I thought I was gonna miss it for sure! And then after, Raul Huezo right there in front’a me! Just like, pshew! Did’ja see Bruce?
Raul Huezo was a spoof on a real-life baseball player... and I no longer remember who. Pity.
For a moment, all was still. Bruce had stopped breathing entirely, and it felt like Jason had as well. Bruce gripped Jason tightly, struggling to keep the preteen from falling out of his precarious half-perch on Bruce’s lap and onto the floor. But Jason was clutching Bruce just as tightly, gangly arms wrapped around Bruce’s neck and face pressed into Bruce’s chest. Tentatively, Bruce lowered his face to Jason’s hair and breathed in the smell of shampoo, sweat, and ballfield.

A chronological analysis on Twilight and Yor - Part 2

The Forgers' first family outing is when we start to get an idea of how well they complement each other. When he realizes that Anya and Yor aren't exactly Eden tier citizens, Twilight is understandably upset. He even goes so far as to think he may have chosen the wrong child and wife for the job (also the last time he ever thinks this).
As for Yor, we see that she has a noticeable liking for weapons, which makes sense considering her job as an assassin. She stares almost longingly at a painting of a guillotine at the museum, and fondles her knife at the restaurant, much to Twilight's confusion.
But what's interesting is that this is the only time we ever see her exhibit this behavior, and I think it's because she's since found more important things to feel deeply about, like motherly love for Anya and tenderness for Loid (she's always had Yuri, but she's not together interacting with and observing him as often as she will be with Anya and Loid). Whether this was an intentional tidbit of character development from Endo, I can't say, but from a narrative perspective, it definitely fits.
This episode also shows the first of many eventual times where Yor has just the right words of comfort for an exasperated Twilight. Despite the fact that, at this point, she hadn't fully embraced her mother/wife role yet, she takes notice of how worked up he had gotten at the restaurant and suggests that they go outside for some air.
When they see the old lady being robbed, Twilight shows no intention of getting involved – spies aren't supposed to attract attention to themselves with showy heroic acts after all. But once Yor rushes over to help, he decides to follow her lead because, again, he's a decent guy who wants to help people even though he prefers doing it secretively. There was no benefit to Yor for helping the old lady except for the fact that, like Twilight, she's a good person who wants to help others, but isn't inhibited by having to keep up a spy persona like he is. But as for why Yor is so quick to react when others need help, but is at a loss when she herself is a target, like when her coworkers were insufferably rude to her at the party, is a part of her personality that I'll discuss more later down the line.
This is also the first of a few scenes where Anya insists that Loid and Yor are flirting/going to kiss, and they immediately deny it, in an almost uncharacteristically abrupt way.
While it's a very short scene, it's especially strange for the calm and collected Twilight to get worked up about some silly thing Anya says. I don't think Twilight and Yor are romantically in love this early in the series, but the fact that they reacted like this does hint at the possibility that they know the other is not a typical man/woman (in a good way) and they're not sure how they feel about it. Hence the exaggerated reactions when confronted with those ambiguous feelings.
Later that day, as an exhausted Twilight tries once more to go over the interview questions, we get a scene from his POV of Anya and Yor happily sitting on the couch with their teacups. This causes Twilight to think back to the old lady's words about what a nice family they are, to which he tells himself that means they must have made some progress. There are several scenes like this throughout the series that show something from his perspective that is, what I like to call, "softly emphasized." The scene itself doesn't seem like anything major, and Twilight isn't making a big deal about it, yet the scene covers a decently sized panel in the manga and has a sort of "fuzziness" to its shading, conveying a warm, gentle feeling (the anime usually lingers on the scene for a few moments and/or may add fuzzy, warm filtering to the colors and sound).
While other characters do occasionally get scenes like this too, I think the reason Twilight has more of them is because of the kind of character he is, namely, an unreliable narrator. For most characters, even if they lie out loud, we as the audience get insight into their thoughts, and typically that's where we know what they're really feeling. But because Twilight is such a competent liar, and has spent much of his life donning one false identity after another, he insists on deceiving not only others, but himself as well. As a result, even his thoughts are not a reliable source for his true feelings. So to me, Endo includes scenes like this – something that seems mundane, but for Twilight, it's triggering feelings of warmth and comfort, despite whatever his expression, words, or thoughts might tell us – as a subtle yet more sure way of knowing what he's really feeling. In this case, despite his sour expression, he's slowly starting to feel comfortable with Anya and Yor, especially when he recalls that someone saw them as a lovely family.

Hi! I wasn't able to see 02TB in theaters and with it coming out on english blu-ray soon I was wondering how was the official translation? I'm nervous about it after seeing your post talking about the Kizuna translation and how messy thst was.
I've also heard the subbed version was using dubtitles is this true?
The dubtitles thing is true, unfortunately. The good news is, even with it using dubtitles, the translation doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as Kizuna's was!
In the case of Kizuna, it seems that the movie was translated to English using the messed up translation that was in the official subs, then the dub was written based on that messed up translation, making it two tiers of disaster. (A more detailed breakdown is in the post the OP mentioned.) In the case of 02TB, whatever translation was used as a base seems to have been generally accurate, and although "dubtitles" usually is an inherent recipe for disaster, it seems like the dub was written with the knowledge that the script would be made into subs later. So unlike...pretty much every other American English Digimon dub...there's no added jokes, no extra lines, everything sticks pretty closely to the Japanese script, and the furthest they went was just playing with the phrasing and making minor changes so things would lip-sync. Pretty surprising, honestly.
That doesn't mean I don't still have some quibbles with it. In particular, I'm guessing whoever did the base translation wasn't familiar with Adventure lore or what lore points are kind of die-on-a-hill level for the fandom (especially "is this epilogue-compliant or not?"), so there was some loss in nuance regarding the discussion of partnerships and such that made the issue way more confusing than it needed to be. But that's not something I can entirely blame the translator for, and besides, I'm not sure that's something that would be any different if the subs weren't dubtitles; it's a recurring problem that goes beyond just this movie, and it was a problem in tri. and Kizuna too (and I'd argue it was much worse there, since unlike them, 02TB doesn't really reference the original series that much).
To put it simply, in the case of Kizuna, the subs were messy enough to ruin much of the meaning of the plot itself, and if someone were to ask me about Kizuna having only seen it with the official subs or dub, I would probably strongly suggest that they go over it again with a properly done translation (a fansub or a translation of one of the novels or whatnot). But for 02TB, if someone's only seen the official subs (dubtitles) or dub, I wouldn't really see any reason to worry about anything, especially since the movie itself was refreshingly easy-to-understand and straightforward. I don't think the minor little quibbles I had were enough to significantly change the overall plot or anything, so while I'll probably still make a post to clarify the aforementioned lore translation issues once the Blu-ray comes out, it's not something I think would matter too much if you're not a hardcore fanfic/meta writer or whatnot.
