It’s Norse mythology! I’m Danish so it’s a part of my heritage :)

It’s Yggdrasil surrounded by the stags Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór. There’s Nidhug(or Níðhöggr) at the bottom, Huginn and Muninn flying away at the top and into the sky, and Jörmungandr surrounding the whole thing. I didn’t include the squirrel and eagle tho. There’s also a reference to God of War ✨

I’m bad at recording my process but I did manage to stream the inking and colouring of my halloween drawing!

It wasn't a conscious decision; there simply came a point when I wanted to preserve as much of my sketch as possible! I've never been able to achieve thin, single-line lineart that looks good without losing the essence of the original sketch and feeling deeply frustrated by it. I also preferred how I inked things traditionally over digitally, so I wanted a way to translate my traditional ink lines into digital. That's when I tried lining exactly as thick as the sketch was, respecting my initial lines more, and scratched in the lines double, triple, or more to match the width of my sketch lines, and found that I really liked it.

Over time, this just became the way I naturally drew everything. Now, I don't know how to line in any other way because it just happens instinctively, heh!

It's way less frustrating and faster for me this way cus then I don't need to get a single line correct and do it over and over to get the correct curve etc. I can gradually build it up and purposefully make it messy so the drawing feels more alive and it's less stressful for me to draw this way.

oKAY WELL NOW I'M NERVOUS AHAH, but it's mostly these two.

I thought your 'double lines' would really add to the ghosty effect on the first one. then i was like- it would also make the second one look 'unstable' if i added a color shift. so i think i really like doing it for conveying emotion or vibes. Also for hair, it adds a lot of texture!! c: So i'm like- really glad i saw that one specific ask talking about it because that's why i remembered it and found it really unique!

Your 'double lines' style inspired me to do something similar for magic and/or when I want something to look unstable- and like.. hey this rocks! So like, your lineart is added to the list of "artist/things that have inspired how I draw" and I thought that was neat c:
