Hello. I was reading about a Queen consort/technically queen regnant named berengaria of Castile who had her marriage annulled by the pope due to consanguinity. However, the pope decided that the children they had during their marriage were still legitimate and were still able to inherit both parents’ lands. I was thinking about writing a story based on this scenario, but one of the things I wanted to change was having the king or queen marry other people after her annulment. If they did remarry, would that cause any problems from their children in their first marriage? Even if her kids were still deemed legitimate, would anyone kick up a fuss about their parent’s marriage being annulled as a way to prevent them from inheriting over any children from a future marriage?
No, if the pope insists they are legitimate any children their parents have would come after them in succession.

Hello! Is it possible for two siblings- in this case twins- to be given a shared title for a place if the overall territory isn't big enough for many other places to be made dukes or earls of? i.e., "the dukes of wherever"? I hope this is worded clearly!
No. Usually one gets everything and the other gets a consolation prize

This is less for a wip and more for help in interpreting a character from a story I like, but - in case of wealthy/noble families - how might the elders (be it family heads, or simply the older generations) control and manipulate the grown heir/heiress?
In said character's case they were around mid-20's, the majority of the family had perished in an earthquake and they were chosen as a heir simply because the position needed to be filled, belonging to a branch family. if they didn't know how to lead, said elders wouldn't lose the power they still had left as they might have if another person actually closer to succession was still alive.
Would it be a matter of disowning/replacing the puppet heir (or at least threatening to?), threatening to withhold money from them (were still raised relatively wealthy, so being disowned would sever them from their funds and the remnants of the lifestyle they knew). Or even actually periodically withholding what money remained, only giving it once they fell in line?
Besides that, what other ways could the person be manipulated, and then later break free of the elder's influence?
They can withhold money from her and even restrict her movements. They can limit her interactions with any friends or family they don’t approve of or even have them forcibly removed.

Hi Duchess,
Quickly, I love your blog so much. And have two quick questions.
One: My OC is an unmarried Princess from Kingdom A sent to live in Kingdom B with her Ambassador Uncle & Aunt mainly to try and broker a marriage with someone. What could she do around Court that would give her a kind of job?
Two: How much of a household would she as a foreign princess be entitled to have?
Many thanks xx
She would not be given a job, she's a royal princess and would be a guest.
Really limitless depenond on her host's generosity - since they're footing the bill. But she would have a few maids in waiting, guards, laundresses, a chamberlain, ushers and grooms and etc

what exactly was a lady's maid? did they go everywhere with their lady/accompany them? when & where? do you have any sources that explain anything/everything one might need to know about a lady's maid?
The lady's maid was in charge of keeping the ladies of the house or one singular lady looking their best and handling their needs. She would style hair, care for jewels, mend clothes, care for clothes and often act as a companion, accompanying her lady on visits or day's out. The lady's maid was referred to by their surname.

I'm sorry but the amount level of people shocked by Andrew Minyard's cheese drawer is insane. The man is in college, everyone has a drawer of one random item. What's he going to do, deprive himself of a snack?

If a royal is the last living person of their bloodline and they’re expected to continue it, but there’s no other royal family to merge with, who would they be expected to continue the bloodline with? With it be someone from the Court or would they be able to have more freedom to choose someone outline of the court, such as a soldier or even a regular civilian?
Someone with good rank and connections. They don't have family anymore so they have to rely on their in laws. Those in laws have to be up to a certain standard of position, wealth and status

Hello Duchess!
I cannot remember if this has been asked before on not.
If a prince/princess who is not the heir marries someone who has no rank and moves to the country their new spouse is from (Ignoring whether or not it is possible or even legal for a royal to marry a commoner) would they keep their title and rank of prince/princess or would they have to give it up?
They will keep being Princess/Prince unless the rules stipulate they must give up their titles.

What roles do extended members of a royal family have, especially members who are pretty far down the line of succession? Do they also have royal duties to fulfill or can they basically live as private citizens?
They, for the most part, live as private citizens but they can step into duties such as meeting ambassadors, acting as ambassadors abroad or attending events.

Your Grace,
How might a ruler inform a noblewoman that, on grounds of her responses to a survey sent to all eligible lady courtiers, she is to marry a non-human sovereign as part of an alliance?
Thank you.
By summoning her to court, writing her a letter or sending a messenger
