Do you regret anything? If yes, why do you regret it?

Ohhh, regret. Regret and I used to be buddies. It took a long time to end up happy with where I am in life, but I'm mostly there now. Sometimes I still feel like I'm lagging behind, but then I remember this isn't a race. I regret not reaching out to catch up with a few great friends of mine from growing up, before their time came. Out of the like 8 of us that hung out (my core group of homies) 4 of us were gone by 25. Most of them were accidents, but one of them really gets me the worst. My friend Shane. He, our friend Colin, and I were like absolute bffs growing up. All of us were constantly at each others houses with pretty much no exception. He moved away pretty abruptly to Ohio with his mom, who was chasing a good opportunity, when we were maybe 13. We pretty much never talked again after that. Years later facebook became a thing and we briefly caught up through a few quick dms. He was doing well, married and happy and stuff. A couple years later he had a gorgeous baby girl being born, and a couple months after that he killed himself. I just always wish I had stayed close to him, on the off chance that I may have given him a "what's up" that night or maybe I would've been someone he could've talked to if he didn't have anyone else. I don't know if he thought he was going to be a bad dad, if he had financial pressure, if he just couldn't find any light, or what. I just don't know. Those thoughts go no where though, and I don't blame myself in any way or anything unhealthy like that. I just sort of feel like I really let a great friend down by drifting apart, as I'm very prone to doing. Loved him very much and it makes me sad that his heart got too heavy.

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"

EVERY SINGLE DAY there are MILLIONS of characters in their late 20s who get falsely accused of being father figures to teenagers when in reality the description of "weird older cousin" or "step-sibling that moved out before you were born" is 1000000x more apt

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

Big fan of sun motifs in characters not necessarily being about positivity and happiness and how they're so " bright and warm" but instead being about fucking brutal they are.

Radiant. A FORCE of nature that will turn you to ash. That warmth that burns so hot it feels like ice. Piercing yellow and red and white. A character being a Sun because you cannot challenge a Sun without burning alive or taking everything down with them if victorious.

hold up im reading more about the lionfish thing and this one island in Honduras has had such a huge problem with lionfish that the measures they have taken include

• getting special exemption from the Honduran government to allow divers access to harpoons and spears which are otherwise illegal in fishing

• public campaign to teach people how to prepare and eat lionfish (apparently they are very tasty once the poisonous spines are removed) (but watch out)

• holding lionfish combination hunting competition and cookout (reportedly they killed and cooked 1,700 in a day) (someone killed 60 of them with a rubber band spear gun???)

• most recently and apparently out of desperation, the divers in charge of culling the lionfish in the Roatan Marine Park just started. feeding the lionfish they killed to sharks. bc what else are you gonna do with it

• the sharks don’t seem to notice or be affected by the poison and begin hanging out with the divers

• the sharks then were seen hunting and killing the lionfish on their own

like this is nuts to me sorry. the sharks just had to be shown “hey this is food, did you know?? you can eat these!! here try one!!” we are possibly altering an entire foodchain bc we like feeding the big ocean wolves
