The first time It’s when I’m talking to my brother Nick. He’s the drummer in the band. “Oh don’t be such a baby!” Nick has not let this go, “Just tell him how you feel! Who’s the lucky guy?” I cringe internally when I see the face that matches the questioning voice. It’s Noah. Of course, it is. I stumble slightly at the last step, he reaches to steady me and Nick laughs at the embarrassment that is my life unfolding in front of us.
“Oh no one, it’s nothing…no one really, not a person around, my brother is just being stupid” I ramble on for far too long. “Folio you’re holding out on me.” He winks at me with a determined look in his eyes. “I’ll get this figured out, no doubt,” Noah says confidently. I try to subtly elbow my brother but he lets out a quiet “uf.”
“Nothing to figure out! I assure you, no crushes to be had. Not by me at least.” I say and try to sound as convincing as possible. Noah’s eyes meet mine and my insides are quaking as I fight away any reaction “Hmm so it’s not Nicholas?” He asks and I’m a flustered mess. “Rufulio? No way, he’s almost like another brother. Attractive yes, but no. And I already said! I don’t have a crush on anyone! God!” I huff and walk away, leaving the two guys to themselves.
The second time Noah asks, it’s after a movie night, I’m cleaning up the kitchen and he sneaks up behind me. “It’s Jolly? Isn’t it?” I shriek in surprise at his sudden appearance and soapy foam sprays over us both. “Jesus Christ Noah! Don’t do that” I hold my hand to my heart and feel it beating rapidly. He laughs, lightly wiping some of the soap from his face. “Oops. Sorry….But it is Jolly, isn’t it? That’s who you have a crush on.” He asks again. “You two looked pretty cozy during the movie” he raises his eyebrows to add emphasis to his words only pointing out his already perfect face. Jerk… “No,” I respond. “I don’t have a crush on Jolly.” I roll my eyes. “And since when is sitting next to someone on the couch “getting cozy.” We weren’t even touching!” I emphasize.
I wish Noah would just drop this little teasing game he’s decided to play. Of course, Nicky is no help. When I talk to him about it he just says “It would be over if you just told him how you felt.” Like it’s that easy. Sure, I’ll tell him how I feel and He’ll tell me he doesn’t see me like that. I’ll die of embarrassment and only see my brother at Christmas. Nick said I was being dumb and walked away back into his room. “Hey, I would get it” Noah starts again raising his hands in defense. “He’s tall, has that cool accent going on, major hottie.” I dry my hands off and huff an annoyed breath. “I don’t have a crush on Jolly,” I repeat to Noah. “I don’t have a crush on anyone.” Liar. Just tell him. He’s right there. Just tell him. Noah’s eyes are piercing into me “I thought we were friends Y/N, you know you can tell me stuff like that. Right?” Placing the kitchen towel back on the counter I think for a moment. “We are friends, Noah, yeah. But this whole crush thing is so middle school. If I did have one, it wouldn’t matter” I turn around and look out the back window into the backyard. “I would hate to risk telling someone and they don’t feel the same way, I would be so mortified.” From behind me, I hear a small “Ah, yeah. I get it.” He moves to get closer and puts his hand on my shoulder pulling me slightly to turn back around. “Any guy would be lucky to have you crushing on them y/n.” I blush and carefully maneuver myself out of his grasp running into the corner of the island. “Ow, Fuck” I yelp and Noah moves closer to check if I’m okay. “Um, thanks but-” I check my watch and notice the late hour. “You know I should really get going, it’s late.” I gather my belongings and Noah follows me to the door. “Thanks for coming to the movies tonight,” he says as I pass through the door. “Yeah, it was fun.” I responded, “Goodnight Noah.” I offer a small wave once I get to my car.
“Goodnight Y/N. Text me when you get home safe, okay?” His smile is so sweet when he’s saying it.
“Oh! Um okay!”

The third time it happens they’re just coming off stage from a show. Sweaty and breathless Noah approaches me when I’m talking casually with one of the backstage crew. Or is it just one man?” I turn beat red and manage to wiggle my way out of the pile and huff out in annoyance. “Shut up Nicky, god. Y’all are so annoying. I’ll see you back at the hotel.” I wipe the sweat my brother smeared on my cheek and walk away but I hear heavy footsteps following me.
“Hey, y/n wait up” Noah calls. I slow down and turn my head back “What Noah? I’d seriously like to go back to my room now and wash off y’all’s stink.” He catches up, laughing at my comment, and continues walking with me. “Why don’t you wait for us? It’ll be safer than walking alone.” One of the tech guys wheels a giant amp right in front of our path so we’re forced to stop. “I’m walking back with Bryan actually, we talked about getting bubble tea at that shop we saw on the way.” His smile fades slightly and his shoulders fall. “Oh. So you and Bryan.” Noah says softly. “Y’all are like..?” His open-ended question stuns me slightly “We’re like? What? Getting boba?” My face is scrunched in a confused face and I fiddle with the tote bag that’s digging into my shoulder. “I mean…you’re brother mentioned again about your crush and now you’re getting bubble tea with Bryan.” I don’t miss the way his voice adds a sour inflection when he mentions the boba and Bryan. “Bryan and I are getting boba. As friends.” I tell him. “And my brother should learn how to shut his mouth…I don’t have a crush on Bryan.” I get a text at the same time from Bryan telling me he’s ready at the back door when I’m good to go. “Why are you so concerned with who I have a crush on Noah?” I ask him, slightly irritated at his constant harassment on the subject. He tenses and his cheeks flush slightly deeper, already red from performing not even 20 minutes ago. “I just…have a curiosity is all. You never know how someone feels about you sometimes until you lay it all out there. But sometimes it’s hard ya know, lots of factors” he rambles out awkwardly. “Uh huh, factors. I’m gonna go, but I’ll talk to you later.” I wave and continue walking towards the backdoor where Bryan said he would be.
We make our way out together passing the fans waiting outside the venue with ease and head to the tea shop. As were walking I mentioned to Bryan what Noah said but he just laughed. “Yeah, can’t imagine what factors he could be talking about,” he says, but based on his tone I get the sense he knows more than he’s letting on. “Yeah, okay. I just don’t understand why he’s so stuck on asking me about my crush” I vent as we walk back to the hotel with our teas. Bryan takes a long sip and says “Yeah, I don’t know y/n. Maybe, he’s just genuinely curious. Maybe he’s interested in who his competition is.” I choke on a tapioca pearl and cough “What? Competition? What do you mean by that? What competition?” I cough out again clearing out my throat. “Um, I mean that Noah would probably be curious who you are crushing on considering his massive crush on you” Bryan says and I freeze as we reach the front door of the hotel. “What?” I ask. “What do you mean?” -wait- did Bryan just say that Noah likes me? Bryan just laughs while walking through the sliding glass doors into the lobby and I run to catch up. “I’m sick of hearing him whine about you having a crush on somebody else, like your crush on him isn’t as equally noticeable to everyone but him.” Of course, my crush is obvious, god this is so embarrassing, “but Bryan-“ I start to say but notice I’m standing in the lobby by myself because Bryan already walked to the elevators to head up. Following after him I head into the elevator after him. “Wait, what do you mean about Noah having a crush on me?” The doors close and we head up together.
The fourth time goes a little differently. It’s been a few hours since the concert and I texted Nick to ask what the boys were doing after the show and he only responded that “Noah was in his room if I wanted to stop being a baby and tell him how I feel.” I rolled my eyes but after my talk with Bryan, I felt better about laying it all on the table. Noah was as nervous to tell me about his feelings as I was. I showered, blow-dried my hair, put on makeup, and put on my black skater dress. Slipping on my black ballet flats I walk down the long hallway to Noah’s room. I follow the red and blue floral pattern on the rug until I reach his room. I softly knock on the door and hear shuffling from inside. “Just a second!” I hear Noah’s muffled voice and a quiet “fuck!” and smack into the wall. He swings the door open and breathes in when he sees me. “Oh, y/n! How’s it going? What brings you this way?” He rambles and looks me up and down, taking in the way my dress hugs my curves and my hair frames my face softly. “I just wanted to stop by before I headed out for the night,” I tell him casually. “The night?” he questions as his eyebrows knit together. “You’re going out?” I nod. “That’s the plan at least.” Noah takes a step out of his room and I can smell his fresh woody scent wafting out. “Like a date?” his voice is in a whisper and I hope this plan works. “I hope so,” I tell him and his mouth forms a frown. “Oh. You’re going on a date. Do I know the guy?” His dejected tone kills me but after all his teasing these last few weeks a little teasing in return is only fair. “Yeah, I’d say you know him pretty well.” I take a step even closer, my head an inch away from his chest and I look up at him through my lashes. “Why do you care Noah?” I ask in a sweet voice and his cheeks warm. “Um, I just worry about you going out with some stranger so late..you should probably just wait until tomorrow,” he tells me. “Oh, but I’m not going out with a stranger, I’ve known him a long time.” I move my hand up to rest on his chest and he freezes. “He’s been my friend for a while but I’ve always felt like there was something more." I pause before continuing. "I’ve always liked him as much more than a friend.” Noah’s hand covers mine on his chest and there’s a small smile forming on his face. “So I know this guy pretty well huh? Can you tell me his name?” He’s leaning down as he asks and our mouths are now just inches away. “Yes, I can tell you.” We move even closer. “But first, can you answer a question for me?” I ask and he laughs. “Of course,” he answers and moves his other hand to cup my cheek. “Who do you have a crush on?” He laughs again and leans his forehead against mine. “It’s always been you Y/N” and his lips finally meet mine in a tender kiss. “Now where are we going on this date?”

Chapter 7- Part 9
Ooooh, I see some discoloration in the darkness, and I think I can recognize what it is.
That’s right, our final Pokémon is a Grubbin! Apparently, this encounter can either be a Grubbin or a Joltik, I’m not sure how the game decides which bug to give you here, it could just be a 50/50 thing. But honestly, I would’ve been fine with either of them, both would be helpful for the Gym. Joltik is obvious, being part Electric-type itself by default; as for Grubbin? Well…you’ll see (and no, it’s not about its evolution).
Anyways, I’ve got a good Ball for this, so let’s start by just purely putting it to sleep with Sing.
So far so good. And now, my secret weapon: Chekhov’s Dusk Ball!
Not only is it nighttime, but we’re in a dark building, so this should work perfectly on this Grubbin (especially with it being asleep)!
Outstanding, amazing, 10/10-
I named her Prong after the metal protrusions on electrical plugs- which, you know, given the Grubbin line’s association with electricity and such, seemed fitting.
Anyways, with the lights back on, do these NPCs have anything new to say?
I mean, seems like the lights got fixed pretty quickly, so it couldn’t have been that bad all things considered.
Which god, there’s like thirty of them.
Anyways, those are all the encounters- now it’s time to build our final team for Julia! …After I admire these nighttime light effects.

Anyways, as for our team to take on Julia- I did some looking, did some moving-around on the PC, and this is the final product (or, well, near final because there’s yet more grinding to do):
I swapped out Breeze and Streak for Bloom and Prong. Once this Gym battle’s done, I’ll probably bring Breeze back in after beating Julia, but as for Streak…who knows, this may be his time to get some rest.
I’m keeping in Whiskers because she has a bit more type coverage in the form of Zen Headbutt and Disarming Voice in addition to a STAB Normal move. As for why I’m keeping Riptide in, well- c’mon, he’s our starter! I’m not taking my starter out of the party! It’s like Octopath Traveler, you can’t take the chosen protagonist out of the party- and even when you are allowed to take them out of the party in the endgame, I still don’t do it because I’m too attached.
Anyways, there are some interesting things about Bloom and Prong. For one thing, Bloom apparently has a unique Original Trainer-
“Sweet Co.”...whatever that is. Maybe it’ll become relevant later.
Oh, but Bloom does have the Budew line’s Hidden Ability! Very nice, even if it won’t come into play in this particular Gym battle.
As for why Prong is so special, well, that’s pretty simple: her moves! And in Grubbin’s Gen VII learnset, there’s one move in particular it learns early on, and Prong luckily has it in her current moveset:
BEHOLD! AT LONG LAST, A SINGULAR GROUND-TYPE THING! Again, I doubt we’ll be able to rely on it during this particular battle, but a Ground move is a Ground move and it is so good to have.
Now, the next task is to get these two on the rest of the party’s level- Lv. 16 specifically- and from there, grind everyone up just a bit more (but still below Lv. 20, of course). Bloom in particular is an interesting case, because I want to evolve him into Roselia, but we can’t do that until it’s daytime again. So, I can probably start building up friendship with him now, then continue tomorrow.
And it was in the midst of trying to build up friendship with Bloom that we ran into this new guy, a scientist-looking dude. What’s he got to say?
What kind of analysis would you even be doing on the outside of a building, of all things? Let alone to the point that you get the “wrong” data? How does that even happen?? Do you even have a doctorate, sir??
Wha-!? Excuse me!? Those are what the Read-Outs are?? I mean- if talking to NPCs is what gives those Read-Outs, I mean…I do that pretty frequently already, so maybe getting all the Read-Outs won’t be so bad…? I still wish we could just get the data by battling under that Field Effect a certain amount of times or something…
Which Field Effect is this Read-Out even about, anyways?
Oh- yeah, that makes sense.

“Y’know, I was gonna say drawing as one of ‘em, but like, that’s kinda my job too so… uh. Well. Whatever, drawing. The other two? Makeup. I have a shit ton of palettes with all the pretty colors. My favorite brand is Melt Cosmetics ‘cause they have an eyeshadow shade called ‘chismosa’ and, like, same. HA! hi it's doesn't-play-genshin-but-loves-your-genshin-fics anon i just wanted to report back: i've completed so many 'genshin lore for beginners' and 'genshin storyline so far' videos, and i'm eyeballs deep in fanart and random fics (especially childe dear LORD him especially god i love him oh my goddd) and i'm so blown away by how deep the story is for the game ???
i knew people praised the game for the characters and story but i didn't think it'd be THIS good, and i'm so grateful you encouraged me to go read up on it.............. the fact that some of the characters are just like regular people and others are straight up literal gods among men is hilarious and also sososo cool to me. zhongli's story was so cool and i love the fact that he's so deeply and intricately intertwined with liyue harbor and its people ;-; ♡

Omggg anon 🥹 I’m so glad you’re enjoying everything so far! And just to tell you a little bit about my own experience, so you know it’s not just you who was a bit blind sided by the depth of the world building xmdmxmdm
I’ve tried a handful of other gacha’s in the past and I just could not get into them for anything. There was one I do actually really like on a theoretical level xmsmxks but I hated the game mechanics. I only played it for a few months before dropping it completely so I was very wary about getting into Genshin at first because I honestly thought I’d be wasting my time and it would just be something else I got no enjoyment out of. Im sure you can imagine my great surprise when I quickly realized this wasn’t just another cheap gacha with bare minimum effort put into it. It’s a whole ass world with extensive history and real, honest to god lore. The characters not only have their own individual backstories that span across various fields and interests and cultural inspirations, but Mihoyo at least puts in some work to further flesh them out beyond that too. Even the ones we’re still waiting to get any real spotlight shown on them have a fountain of potential just waiting to be untapped! It’s super exciting imo, to see how everything slowly fits into place to create the bigger picture of a fully functioning fictional universe, how each character is leading their own individual lives, but then you also add onto that how there are plenty of mysterious unknowns and future developments ahead of us too …
Frankly Genshin’s lore has done nothing but impress me. It gets confusing at times, yes, and occasionally theories that don’t make a lick of sense will gain traction to blur the lines even more, but overall this world feels very alive to me and our role as the traveler can be a very immersive one. I have been nothing if not impressed by the world building but it’s the characters that truly pulled me in and never let me go. lol I started playing specifically for Zhongli … and by the time I actually met him I was already hooked. 🤣 I’ve been obsessed with this damn game basically since day one and I’m still in a chokehold over a year later.
But ooooh, a Childe fan are we? 👀 I am in no way surprised, he is QUITE a man. Idk how up to date you are with the current storyline but uh, I am eagerly awaiting version 4.2 so we can see him again! (Potential spoiler??) The way he gave us his vision in 4.0 actually had me

on TES lore forums back in the early 00s i used to hang out with the old developers of the games and they had a saying "that's boring and therefore wrong" and it's stuck with me in world design and storytelling ever since
i love morrowind, and it's the only game of its kind that lets me either spend all day playing Animal Crossing and decorating my house OR going on walking simulator adventures OR having intense battles with complex magic systems,
but god honestly so much of it is kidna outta date
i don't mean "oooooh euuuurrr it has plantation slavery in it you can't depict bad things in a game" honestly like no i think morrowind is a pretty good for its time examination of colonialism it's a very colonialism problems the game on purpose it's engaging it's fun
it has lore with rape and stuff in it because yeah it's engaging in the long myth history of the world and there's weird shit in mythology that's fun, modern fantasy stopped engaging with the history of myth and started it over and now it's only in dialogue with the past 30 years of dungeons and dragons and that's boring as FUCK,
but like my standards have improved. morrowind basic bitch too often. morrowind does "this is the species called 'black people'" and that's where it goes "uhhhhhhhhhh." because like holy shit all the cool redguard lore, most of that was added in afterwards and in TR and shit like ooooh buddy
there's so much potential in the sidelore and fans have added fun shit like sloads (giant necromancy slugs with living airships like hell yeah okay that's neat) and the 20 khajiiti forms and TR is supposed ot make the telvanni weird again so like hell yeah but
god so much of morrowind deep down really is just part of the ES tradition of "this species of people are Africans. this species of people are Romans. this species of people are the Japanese." and while it's not as bad as in Oblivion so much of morrowind feels its age where parts are phoned in, where parts are taken for granted, where, like
you know when you're writing you can fall into the trap of writing in stock phrases? so that everything you write is just something someone else said already, cut up and put together? it was a dark and stormy night but like for real using nothing but preconstructed phrases like legos? no real thought or effort put into how you're making the words go?

you're like the ONLY person ive seen so far who doesnt like totk and ooooh my god that was so refreshing to see. it was such a HUGE let down and so empty and the story was so weak. i miss real dungeons and puzzles and if botw/totk becomes the new 3d zelda norm im gonna scream

But im so with you, how do they add 2 new overworlds and they're so emptyyyy. like. especially the main overworld. you have your shrines, and your koroks, and your sign guy, but it's been canon years after botw, and they haven't started making any new towns? hateno was the most changed place and its bcs it had mushrooms and an interesting quest
The story really just suffers from the memory format, which like i say abt botw, made sense for that game, bcs its an amnesia story. But in this case, why? why couldn't it have been Link helping ppl in the present with those stories, while learning abt the imprisoning war, and stumbling across a chance to go back himself and meet the characters too and play a role. There are ways to tell a compelling (or at least sensible and strong) story in an open world game. I could talk abt oblivion's storylines for hours.
And the puzzles... man what the hell. They showed parts of the fire temple in a trailer and i was so hyped for a complex dungeon that builds on itself and it was once again... turn on the four terminals/fans/batteries/whatever. I can't with these puzzles, I really hope in the next game they stop with shrines and give at least good dungeons, and maybe more items than just what's given at the start of the game...
If you have an NSO subscription, i highly recommend the oracles games. I've been playing ages and oh my god the puzzles are spectacular. I haven't been this stumped in a while. Haven't played seasons yet, and ppl say ages is more puzzle based and seasons is more combat based so play whichever one sounds more fun. (and if you don't have an NSO subscription i may know a website where you can play them in your browser)

So I had to google what this was because I am Old tm so... bearing in mind I don't play TS4, I think I have to say MaxisMatch? I'm not using a super powerful PC and I don't like my sims looking hyper realistic. That being said, I do use a LOT of cc hair because the textures and colour blending tends to be much better.
Do you cheat your sims weight?
Nope! I take them as they come but may slim them down again with the gym when I can.
Do you move objects?
Yeah... I get frustrated when I can't put decorative objects in slots where there's very obviously space for them so I abuse it horribly.

I mean I have a TON but tbh NRaas Story Progression was a total gamechanger back in the day and fixed the shitty EA Story Progression that still doesn't work.

As Astha walked up to the couple's cosy house in London, she couldn't help but smile. The exterior was covered in ivy, and pots of blooming flowers lined the front porch. Upon entering, she was greeted with the aroma of a delicious meal being prepared by Jessica. The living room was decorated with posters of beloved movies and TV shows, and a bookshelf overflowing with books and board games.
Alice was sitting cross-legged on the couch, intently focused on her laptop as she tweaked her Dungeons and Dragons campaign. She looked up and beamed when she saw Astha, welcoming her with a warm hug. Jessica was bustling about the kitchen, chopping vegetables and stirring pots on the stove, but stopped briefly to tell everyone she’ll be there in a minute. There were three other people in the room that Astha assumed were Jessica’s coworkers.
Over the years it had become somewhat of a tradition for them to have dinner together once a month. The couple’s four-year-old twins were staying with Jessi’s parents for the weekend. So the two of them decided it would be the perfect time to have some friends over and start a new D&D campaign.
Jessi greet Astha with a kiss on the cheek and was eager to introduce her to the three new players.
"Guys this is Astha. Astha, these are the lucky people who have the pleasure of working with me every day. This is Daniel, think you guys met once at my birthday. Daniel is currently single by the way.” Jessie winked at Astha.
Jessica’s attempts at trying to set her friends up were halted when a cushion came flying towards her from where Alice was sitting. “God Jessica. Darling, as much as I adore you, I’m not letting you play matchmaker here. Poor guy just got out of a relationship. Let him live a little.”
“Yes ma’am. Anyways moving on, this is software developer and painter extraordinaire Maya, and finally Alex. They make the best brownies you’ll ever have." Alice said, gesturing to each person in turn.
Astha smiled and greeted everyone warmly. It had been difficult for her to go out and meet people after things ended with her ex-girlfriend. So Astha was happy to actually meet people other than Alice and Jessica.
As they settled in for a night of adventure and storytelling, Alice showed everyone some of the new characters she had created for the campaign, and the group eagerly delved into the game. Astha was impressed with Maya's attention to detail and creative thinking, and Daniel's humorous quips kept everyone in good spirits. Alex, who was playing D&D for the first time asked for some pointers to help create their character.
As the game ended Jessica got a call from her mother, so Astha went inside to help Alice with the last of the dinner preparations. As Astha helped Alice set up the dining table, her mind couldn't help but wander to Marc. It had been a week since she last saw him, and she couldn't shake the worry from her mind. Though she had his number, she hadn’t worked up the courage to reach out to him.
Alice could tell that something was bothering Astha, "Hey, are you okay? You seem lost in thought."
Astha sighed, "I'm sorry, I'm just thinking about this guy I met."
Alice's eyes widened with excitement, "Ooooh, tell me more! Who is he? What's he like?"
Astha hesitated, "Well, we didn't really go on a date, per se. I met him a while back when I found him injured in an alley near my house. I helped him out and we talked for a bit, but I didn't catch his name."
Alice looked surprised, "Wow, you sure know how to pick’em. What happened next?"
Astha continued, "Well, I didn't see him again until last week. He was waiting outside my apartment, injured again. I let him stay on my couch for the night, but the next morning he woke up not remembering who I was or where he was. He had a panic attack and had to leave."
Alice's expression softened "Oh, Astha. I'm sorry to hear that. Is he doing okay?"
Astha smiled, "Yeah, he's doing much better now. But I'm still worried about him. He has clearly been through a lot."
As much as Astha wanted to open up to Alice about Marc, their conversation was cut short by Jessica calling out from the other room, asking about dinner. They headed back to join their friends and the rest of the night was filled with laughter, snacks, and stories.
As the last of the guests said their goodbyes and headed out the door, Alice, Jessica, and Astha began the task of cleaning up after dinner. The sound of clinking dishes and silverware echoed through the kitchen as they worked in comfortable silence. It wasn't until they had finished putting away the last of the dishes that Jessica spoke up.
"Astha, is everything okay? You've been pretty quiet throughout dinner," she asked, looking at Astha with a concerned expression.
Astha couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for how distant she had been from her friends over the past week. She hesitated for a moment before deciding to share. She didn't like talking about her personal matters with just anyone, but these people were more than friends to her; they have been her family ever since she first came to London to study nursing.
"I'm sorry, guys. I've been feeling down all week. It's just been a lot with work and personal stuff, and... my dad is coming to see me in a few weeks," Astha said, looking down at her feet.
Alice and Jessica exchanged a knowing glance. They knew that Astha's relationship with her dad was complicated, but they also knew that it was difficult for her to talk about.
"I'm sorry, Astha. I know that talking about your dad can be difficult, but we're here for you if you want to talk," Alice said, putting a reassuring hand on Astha's shoulder.
Astha smiled gratefully at her, feeling the weight of her worries lifting a little. "Thanks, Alice. I appreciate it. It’s just… It's been a while since I've seen him, so I thought it would be nice to catch up."
"That sounds nice, Astha. Is everything okay with him?" Jessie asked,
"Yeah, he's okay. Said he has some work stuff to take care of. I didn’t ask too many questions"
“Well, we are here if you need to talk. I mean it. Even though you met Alice first, you are like my little sister. We just want you to be happy.” Jessica pulled her in for a comforting hug.
Astha's eyes filled with tears as she looked at her friends. They had welcomed her into their lives with open arms, and they had become the family she never knew she needed. "Thank you, guys. I don't know what I would do without you."
As they finished up, Alice turned to Astha with a smile. "Hey, before you go, let's schedule the next game night. We can't wait to have you back."
Astha grinned, feeling grateful for her friends. "Sounds great, let me know the date and I'll be there."

Ok but, more detailed thoughts on SM149 JN111 below the cut!
Like HOLY COW did they not waste time at ALL with finding Mohn, I ended up loving that approach so much! The episode starts with Research Fellow trio being informed of some mysterious Pokémon found in the Crown Tundra (I guess the japanese name is The Snowfield of the Crown, localised name is kinda easier to say), and after Lilie, Lusamine and Gladio end up finding Mohn in a state of memory loss, we find out that he's been living WITH A FRICKING UTSUROID!! Shiny even! And like, all this time, he thought it was Lilie. Because Utsuroid made him see it as such. Oh god, this Utsuroid... ;-;
And like, once again I wasn't spoiled on anything regarding the ep, so when Satoshi, Gou and Koharu hear about a witness talk about a white Pokémon (the rest I was unable to understand, only white description), I thought it was gonna be Calyrex or Glastier lol. But nooooo, it's shiny Utsuroid. Which honestly fits way better and fits with the whole "Ultra Beasts reside in The Crown Tundra in Galar in the games as well" idea i wanted the anime to adapt asjkfhshkf. And y'know, this is as good as any.
BUT OH GOSH MY HEART, I collapsed real hard when Lilie played Mother and Daughter theme from Alola at the start, and then it became a theme in the ep, and like, props to the animators making the piano play accurate as heck.
And can we talk about how fricking well Lusamine's role was done in the ep, like Lilie was the true protag of the ep, and Gladio did some really nice stuff in the ep too, but LUSAMINE MY DEAR, she was.... oh god the shock she had when Mohn didn't recognize her was so heart-breaking, it's EXACTLY what I wanted, and yet I broke down again because ohgod they nailed that face, they fricking nailed it. You bet I'll be trying to gif it askhsfjhsf. As many other scenes jkahsfjh.
And like, the whole situation Mohn was living in was really sad, because Utsuroid ended up hiding every single mirror in the house, so its true from wouldn't reflect on it, and also to prevent Mohn from remembering and abandoning it? Like, it seems pretty twisted, but in the end, this shiny Utsuroid, who Mohn actually called Lilie, ended up being a kind one who just wanted to protect Mohn. ALSO THEY REALLY WENT AND MADE THE POPULAR FAN THEORY OF LILIE BEING UTSUROID A PLOT POINT WHAT THE HELL-
And the way I screamed so happily at Pikachu coming to save Lilie, Satoshi shouting Iron Tail, sakjsfjhsfjsfhfsjsf I LOVE THEIR FRIENDSHIP SO MUCH AND I JUST, ooooh I felt so home, I felt like I was watching Sun & Moon, I enjoyed the ride of the ep so fricking much.
And and and and and when Mohn remembers the kids again, OH MY FRICKING, Lusamine's face was so, UUUGH it was so good, her beloved husband finally remembered her and she was so, you could tell she was releaved and so fricking happy. I'm happy for her too. We finally have an Aether Family, happy with all four members. Oh, sorry. FIVE!
They end up being thankful for Lilie the Utsuroid for taking care of Mohn all these years, for saving him from the accident aftermath, and they catch it in a Beast Ball. And I just.... fricking hell, LILIE WAS TRAUMATIZED BY UTSUROID, and now she befriended the one who took care of Mohn, her father, all these years, and took her form in an illusion.
And I I I I I i, hhhnnngghh there was still a lot of dialogue I need subtitles for but this was THE ABSOLUTE BEST episode JN has delivered so far. The best. Why do Aether Family eps rock so hard man-
Yeeeh Shiron didn't evolve but it isn't on a must-happen list for me, just a would-like-for-it-to-happen list, and it can still happen, but I don't mind, it really didn't fit into the episode plot and it was SO fricking beautifully crafted that yes. This is now SM149 and Sun & Moon never ended what do you mean it's been two and a half years since SM146-

day six of playing royal... or more like the 6th time i’ve opened the game lol.
madarame broke down yadda yadda makoto’s following us who cares about plot im just gonna list out the random things i took note of
-MEMENTOS HAS DIFFERENT MUSIC? I HEARD THIS WAS A THING BUT WOW. IT’S... WEIRD. the new track is nice but it doesn’t feel... fitting. it feels kinda unfinished. maybe it’s one of those tracks that get more layers as you go on? idk. the vibes feel way more aggressive and ominious than the regular mementos track
-DARTS. BILLARDS. YES YES YES YES. KICHIOJI IS SO COOL AND FUN I LOVE ALL THE SHOPS AND NEW SHIT. AND JAZZ JIN! LET ME SEE . AKECHI. IM SO CLOSE TO MEETING HIM AUAUAUAUUGUHUH

genuinely kasumi seems like a cool character with mildly interesting traits and vibes. she’s sweet about apologizing and thanking akira, kinda funny, excited to teach about gymnastics and other things, but GOOD LORD

i love all the p5 girls but kasumi is so unbearable with all the shilling around her. She’s So Quirky UwU. sharing your umbrella... hiding behind akira’s back... not wanting to be treated specially....all the rumors about how ooooh she’s so perfect and so cool and how the game at that moment wants you to feel bad like she has it rough.
being put on a pedestal and outcasted like that does suck i won’t lie. but ohhh the scene just feels so tasteless for her to complain about it while akira, ceo of bad rumors, is just sitting there. and like, none of these scenes are Her fault, it’s just the bad writing regarding trying to shove her into a story that HAS NO ROOM FOR HER !!
its just. she feels so cookie cutter. quirky athletic girl who’s different. i bet she has a comically large appetite too. i bet we’re gonna take her out somewhere and shes gonna eat like triple the amount that akira does and the game is gonna make a big deal out of it and i’m gonna hate it. i swear to god i’m trying to keep an open mind and like her but every time i start to think “you know? she’s not so bad!” the game pulls something that makes me want to punt her into a game that has room for her to breathe. and it’s only going to get worse! on the cusp of the kaneshiro arc is when the thieves character arcs start to get cramped and . idk when kasumi becomes a thief but i assume its closer to endgame (probably sae’s palace i bet. im gonna bet on that because it’s the worst fucking palace for her to join in on so ofc that’s the one she’ll join on) which is going to muddle it even worse. at least she has 3rd sem to get her development since... i assume that’s going to relate to her heavily due to both being royal’s poster child. but it just puts a bad taste in my mouth. im sure the other thieves will get some development in 3rd sem also but i just
man i don’t trust this shit
at least strikers adds onto the arcs nicely.

Aww yiss. If anyone is interested, this is about Cayden, who can be found in my posts tagged as his name or more generally pathfinder.
This is gonna be long because I'm unable to write short answers. Also I have no idea how to add a read more on mobile, so uhhh, have fun xD
2. What was your original concept for this character? How did playing them change that concept?
The whole creation story is full of randomness tbh. I wanted to try playing a face and had a rogue half prepared for that, but the GM told me to maybe not play a rogue again, so I changed my mind to a sorcerer. A friend was creating his first character ever then, and he wanted to be a typical wizard, so I looked for less combat focused options for my sorcerer and we lacked a healer, so I found that there is a unicorn sorcerer bloodline that knows healing spells and has some nice healing powers. This was my first sorcerer, so I looked for guides and turns out that gnomes are super recommended. I decided on looks and even gender when having fun in heroforge. Thought it will be super funny if a gnome that's gonna be unicorn themed will also be pink and a man. It's a little freaky how he became a serious character that took over my entire brain for more than a year now, considering how he came to existence. Gnomes, man, it must be something to them, this shouldn't've worked. I'm so glad it did tho. Even his name was super randomly chosen, as back then the party was supposed to be 3 people with others joining later, and we thought it would be hilarious if we make some kind of acronym from character names. The word "CYC" (tit would be the same in English ig) appeared, so I looked for male names beginning with C. Found Caden, thought it sounded nice, so I told the GM it's gonna be it. And he went ooooh if you spell that differently, he could be named after a god of beer in Pathfinder. I liked the spelling better, I liked the connotations, boom xD
As for his character, I remember that he was supposed to be more crazy (whatever that means, my first sketches are more mischievous looking), but after writing his backstory and actually starting playing, I think he just stayed pretty much the same. Also the rest of the party put the bar pretty high for the craziness/unchainedness level, so I automatically assumed a more mature approach to compensate lol
I wish I was better at roleplay tho, because it's really hard to try to come across as someone who is by design comfortable in most situations, talks smoothly and is confident and flirty when I'm not and I don't even know how people like this are supposed to act, so I can't even try to pretend hhhh
I just hope that the rest of my group knows how I want him to be, cos we don't really talk much about character stuff outside the game (I wish we did, but it appears that I'm the only one who's been raised in the whole OC culture and I don't even feel very comfortable around some of the people outside of the game hhhh)
11. if they have a pet or animal companion, how do they spend time with them? if they don’t have one, what sort of animal would they be interested in raising, if any?
In one of the first sessions we saved a young black cat, so Cayden had a pet for a few weeks. Named the cat Rybiarz xd (Fisher?) because he said he liked fish (speak with animals hehe). Cayden left the cat in the inn we were staying in, because the inn keeper became our friend and the cat liked it here, so Cayden decided he's not gonna drag the poor cat along with him on the two month journey and who knows what next. If he could have a pet, I see two ways. Either some magical beast, lika a faerie dragon (not really a pet tho, cos they're sentient, but I mean the vibe), something that would be comfortable being on the move, possibly something matching his own energy, or even helping him seem even more attractive to others. The other option is some kind of animal that can swim (and climb?), because the boy Can't Swim. The last session ended in the middle of combat, where Cayden spent 3/4 of it under water, as the fight was with a water elemental which raised the water level and submerged everyone. And this was not the first time something like this happened xD And with him being so smol, he starts having problems when there is like 0.5m of water and if the water covers him, it boils down to waiting for someone to fish him out. A trained animal could solve this problem xD
As for spending time with the pet, it would probably be just playing with it and chilling together. Maybe if it was some special creature, he would be taking it with him to some social situations and play harmless tricks on others, or try to impress others with it, depending on the situation and mood.
28. do they collect anything?
He currently finally got his hands on a Mnemonic Vestment he's been saving gold for, so now he's focused on collecting as many magic scrolls (and possibly spellbooks, generally written magic) as possible, because the Vestment lets him cast one spell per day from such a source using his own spell slot AND not using up the scroll itself. This is super good, because Cayden as a sorcerer has a lot of spell slots, but a very short list of spells known. A new era just begun for him hahah
44. what lies do they tell others?
This is a hard one. I'm not great at creating characters that have many aspects to them. Cayden is pretty honest anyway, and talkative, so every one of his friends probably knows almost everything about his past and about him generally. He had to tell a pretty serious lie in the past and he only confessed to maybe two people (all just in backstory). It was about how the father of his first girlfriend died. He was killed by a unicorn, when he tried to kill it for its horn. The father was hunting magical creatures in secret, so his family didn't know anything, but he wanted Cayden to help him with the "business", as the relationship with his daughter was becoming serious. Why he thought it was a good idea is a mystery, as Cayden's family's past involving a friendship with a unicorn was pretty well known. Cayden helped the unicorn escape, but not before the other gnome shot at it with a crossbow. The unicorn charged and impaled the man with its horn before teleporting away. After spending the night crying his eyes out and trying to make sense of this whole situation, Cayden brought back the father's body back to the family and lied that the man was killed by someone with a spear who tried to mug them, before he managed to scare the attackers away using magic tricks.
I think, more generally, hypothetically, Cayden would lie about his own well being, for example if it meant others wouldn't waste time on him and would be able to save themselves in a critical situation. He would lie to make others feel better if he knew there was no way to help them and if he knew that showing confidence and being optimistic would raise morale of everyone else.
As for non serious lies (I'm not even sure it counts for the question), sometimes his gnome nature comes through, and he's tempted to just mess with someone by telling obvious nonsense information when an opportunity arises, or creating illusions. He doesn't have a heart to leave someone confused for too long though, so most of the time he clears thing up pretty fast.
And of course he tells lies in typical adventurer stuff situations. False names, motivations, all that. "I'm so sorry for shooting color spray in your face I panicked, I just didn't want you to cuff me, I'm on your side I swear, I want to help deal with those people demolishing your holy stairs, I won't be able to do that while magically handcuffed!" *Insane bluff check* *promptly escapes the moment he sees an opportunity*
Currently we're trying to infiltrate some kind of a drug cartel criminal underground, so there is a lot of bluffing involved xD
51. what element of their backstory are you proudest of?
The elements my GM basically wrote for me xD
I'm not the strongest writer, not even moderately acceptable writer, so I needed a little help. We all generated backstory events when creating characters and wrote based on what we got. I couldn't think of a conflict that involved telling a lie motivated by love. This is the one above, about the unicorn. The other backstory element is to rationalize how Cayden got out of his country that was surrounded by enemy nations currently at war I think and travelled through almost half the continent to the Pathfinder lodge in Absalom. I decided he's going to go by water, sailing near appropriately named Isle of Terror. Sure the name is not nice and there are some terrible stories surrounding the place, but near the shore there are real people actively looking for vessels trying to cross the lake. Turns out Isle of Terror is no joke and during a terrible negative energy storm everyone from the crew died, if not by the storm, then finished off by a shadowy creature, and Cayden barely survived this only thanks to hiding in a barrel, and plot armor I guess (it's a backstory after all, and a random event due to my decisions to go this route).
Other than that, I kinda like the part about Cayden even having the bloodline powers he has. One of his ancestors/parents had to have some kind of closer contact with a unicorn and I decided it's gonna be his mother. Before he was born, his country was at war with basically every neighbour and Cayden's mother was helping refugees by hiding them in a dense forest near the border. She impressed a unicorn living there with her determination and pure heart and they formed a strong bond with the unicorn protecting it's forest against unwanted invaders, but allowing shelter for the needing. During those efforts Cayden's mother met his father and after the war, Cayden was born. Later, when he grew up, it turned out that some of that unicorns magic/blessing passed onto his mother and became apparent in him.
I know it's cheesy, but that's about the peak of my writing/storytelling skills xD
For someone that is 52 years old, my boy has a surprisingly uneventful backstory, with 40 years of living peacefully in his village with both parents, having a traumatic experience, and then going out to see the world, hearing about Pathfinder Society on his first big stop and making it his dream to join them. I described his journey basically by coming up with partners he had romantic relationships with along the way and elaborating a little what happened during these stops/stages of the journey. Now I face the joy of meeting this characters as NPC's one day, oof, I didnt think this through. We even met that first girlfriend already. (it was ok, but super stressful, but also super sweet at the end)
