Things disabled people wish you knew about mobility aids!
I am more mobile with my mobility aid than without.
Stop asking me when I'll get better.
When I don't have a mobility aid and am using a shopping cart, do not take it, I am leaning on it so I can be on my feet longer.
Stop asking me why I need a mobility aid when we're strangers.
I decorate my cane, it feels like a part of me, please give me space to feel sad when I have to replace it.
People will walk into me or gotten very close, please don't stare at your phone while you walk.
Mobility aids are not depressing.
Mobility aids help us to live fuller and more independent lives with less symptoms.
I love my mobility aids! I don't want the focus of my treatment to be getting rid of them, I want it to be improving my symptoms.
Mobility aids don't have to be boring and plain. A mobility aid being decorated doesn't mean I don't need it!
I don't need help unless I ask for it.
Disability isn't taboo, let your kids be curious and ask questions.
Stop moving my mobility aid(s) without asking me. My mobility aid(s) are an extension of my body.
I don't just use my mobility aid for shits and giggles, I need it. It is not for show it is not for attention and implying it is is incredibly ableist.
People use mobility aids differently, some people use their mobility aids all the time and some people don't. I don't need my mobility aid 24/7.
I switch sides with my cane and constantly have to worry about being fake claimed when in reality I just need it for both of my legs.
I'm still disabled even though I'm fat and have invisible disabilities.
I'm still disabled and in pain even when I'm not using any mobility aids.
I'm not a baby, I'm not just fat, I'm not just weak. I am disabled and I like to think I'm stronger than most non-disabled people.
It's really weird to make comments or gestures when I'm in my wheelchair. If you wouldn't say it to someone who doesn't have a wheelchair don't say it to me.
Don't bend down to talk to me it's hella weird. Just talk to me like you would talk to anybody shorter than you.
Just because I'm not using my mobility aid doesn't mean I'm suddenly better!
I'm just as disabled when I'm not using my mobility aid.
Going a few days without my mobility aid doesn't mean I'm no longer disabled.
Just because I don't always need my mobility aid does not make it a toy.
Mobility aids can be incredibly helpful and we shouldn't have to be embarrassed to use them.
If I'm in my electric wheelchair and I'm in front of an aisle you need to get to just let me know, don't reach over my lap like I'm not a person.
If you don't step out of my way as a wheelchair user I am going to hit you, that's not a threat, it just will happen. You have a lot more maneuverability than I do.
If I'm using my mobility aid, you can be respectful and accomodate me without making it a thing. I know my limits and capabilities. Using a cane does not make me weak or helpless.
It's really funny seeing you guys jump to get out of the way when I use my cane, the space is appreciated, but it's still really funny to see the look on your face.
Please stop praying for my "recovery" there is none!
My rollator gives me freedom! I can go more places without having to worry about a lack of seating. I can actually walk faster with it than without it.
My mobility aid shouldn't be a horrifying last resort, it helps me so much, even when I'm not at my absolute worst!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you so much to everybody who participated! Happy disability pride month everyone!

Hi there!
Hey guys, I'll admit it.
I'm not sure what I'm doing.
But I'm a writer, musician, and Zelda enthusiast! I write for Linked Universe mainly (Illegible_Handwriting on ao3) and I figured I should make a Tumblr, so here we are! I like a bunch of other things too, though (marble hornets, stormlight archive, gravity falls, unravel 2, metroid, doctor who, the owl house, rottmnt, ben drowned/awakening, generation loss, episodes 4-9of star wars, HUMAN RIGHTS DAMMIT, just to name a few) so I'll pretty much post whatever I want to.
I swear a lot, so be warned.
Nonbinary (and everyone is hella valid, homophobes/terfs/transphobes/racists/ableists/anti-Semites etc. beware >:( so be nice everyone)
I use "#illeg scribbles" for my writing, and #chicken scratch for any other rambles or posts I make. #reblog is exactly what it sounds like!
#smoke & ashes has its own tag, and so does #dear four chronicles! #the chosen and the champion also exists but I don't really use it anymore because I'm working on s&a, so if you want updates on that, use the smoke & ashes tag thx :D
And I don't know how active I'll be on here (probably not a lot) but we'll see how this goes! If I'm not active, don't be alarmed, that'll be normal probably lol.
I guess I should make a masterpost huh. Ok that's under the cut.
The Chosen and the Champion series (in progress)
The Chosen and the Champion (Switch gang tribute): Completed. A ton of Wild and Sky content because I saw Skyward Sword on Switch and went FUCK yes. This got off the rails very quickly. Just read all of them at this point, cuz I don't know what I'll bring back next. Chapter 20 and onwards is Exploring Sky's Hyrule.
Smoke & Ashes: Incomplete and in progress!! continues where C&C left off, with a huge fucking focus on Sky's adventure, specifically the end. However, unlike most fics, people are NOT very happy or forgiving with Sky. If you know, you know. VERY ANGST HEAVY. PLEASE READ ALL THE TAGS AND WARNINGS.
Like Mounds of Molten Gold: Incomplete and in progress!! Just a bunch of extra content for the C&C universe! Some are companion pieces to a specific chapter or section, while some are just random shit. There might be cut content every now and then. All of them help to give a deeper/more enjoyable experience to the main fic (in my opinion).
The Dear Four Chronicles (in progress)
Dear Four: completed. oneshot. pre-Minish Cap Four and post-LU Sky. Shenanigans ensue.
Hey Time: completed. oneshot. pre-OoT Time and post-LU Four. Shenanigans but it's 12k this time.
Hello Wind (temp title): being written! IDK when it'll come out, but it'll happen eventually. I promise.
The Groose is Loose! (temp title, in progress??? Maybe???)
A Weight Called Eternity: completed. oneshot. I asked the question "what was Groose doing during the Demise fight?" This is absolutely spliced from ch16 of S&A. Do I care? No. It's edited substantially as well, and is not LU, but SkSw instead. ALSO HEAVY ANGST
Other fics:
There it is again, that funny feeling...: Incomplete and in progress!! multi-chapter. It's a bunch of different ideas all stemming from the same base question: "what if Sky was the Fierce Deity?" Each chapter is a separate AU. Please heed the warnings on this one.
Imagine all the fun you and your future self could have, if only you had a driver's license: Completed. multi-chapter. Long-ass title because I never thought of a better one. Basically, pre-LU Wild and Sky are in Mariokart! Bunch of crack. Lots of fun.
Here lies Link: completed. oneshot. Four digs a grave for a dear friend. Also Wolfie is there for emotional support. Heed the tags.
Storybook: completed, i guess. oneshot, i guess. pre-Minish Cap Four knows about Sky and I think that's the most precious idea. If I ever come back to this, I'll let you know.
Freezing Flame: completed. oneshot. halloween from a couple years ago. Wind finds a graveyard. Heed the warnings.
All the Lights in the World (Are Slowly Going Out): completed, i guess. discontinued, really. multi-chapter. I tried Wumptober 2022 and I only got 3 prompts in. heed the tags and warnings.
Fluffy Pillows and Angsty Teens: incomplete! multi-chapter. Random shit i wrote!!
Beyond Recollection (discontinued): done, i guess. Multi-chapter. Was gonna be about a female hero after twi who people couldn't remember, but i left the idea.
As twilight fell: completed. oneshot. my first fic. don't read it. save yourselves. I might rewrite it eventually. heed the warnings in the tags.

Love your post about the Hargreeves's stunted emotional development--it's something I have never really thought about before. One question though: You start by saying not seeing Klaus's guilt in S2 was a big waste. This is anecdotal but when I was a kid and did something wrong, I'd vehemently deny it, to the point I convinced myself that I had nothing to be guilty of or whatever I did wasn't consequential anymore. So wouldn't Klaus grappling with his guilt have been out of character?
This is a great question.
First off, I want to be clear that developmental delay, whether it's emotional, intellectual, or physical, isn't actually so simple a concept as "this person is a permachild." Actually, a shitton of people with intellectual disabilities (such as Down Syndrome) have massive problems with people assuming that they are children trapped in the body of an adult. It's highly complicated, and different for everyone.
Klaus, specifically, isn't so emotionally stunted that he has no empathy. His mindset is definitely egocentric, but with a bit of conversation, he feels deeply for people and regrets hurtful actions he took. What's more, it can't really be out of character for him because we know he does grapple with his guilt. That Ben's last words to him were about this specifically, means Ben saw him struggling with this and wanted to absolve him. Klaus' relief when Vanya gave him the message shows us a weight lifted. Now, how you show him grappling with that guilt is going to be key, because Klaus is not great at acknowledging anything that makes him feel bad, but even grappling with it so he can wrestle it into a closet and lock the door would at least be some setup.
Why can Klaus be so emotionally stunted in some ways but not in others? According to one school of thought (Piaget), children below a certain age do seem to lack the cognitive capacity for thinking from other perspectives and the behavior you're talking about with regard to yourself is very typical, especially of children aged 0-6 years. In middle childhood, 7-11ish years, children become a lot more capable of sophisticated thinking and begin to realize their actions can be reversed. They're also becoming gradually less egocentric. This is all a matter of cognitive development, not psychosocial development, so Klaus is going to be fine, here. And this is just according to one major theory of cognitive development. In short: we don't actually know for sure, but we do know it's hella complicated and that developmental issues don't translate exactly to permanent childhood. That's just kind of a shorthand way of explaining it (and we could stand to use a different shorthand, especially in terms of intellectual disabilities because that can get really ableist).
Klaus also isn't a literal teenager, not even emotionally. Teenagers aren't just the way they are because they're immature. They're also that way because of physical changes, a highly active limbic system, social pressures, and, in most cases, a lack of sleep. Klaus' egocentric thinking may be partly due to arrested development, but it's also very typical of people with mental illnesses like depression, PTSD, and Substance Use Disorder. But a lot of the social skills you're supposed to pick up as a teenager, most of the Hargreeveses probably lack. Your teens are also, according to Erikson’s theory of development, when you're supposed to begin to form your identity--your sexual, gender, ideological, ethnic, and vocational self-concepts. Most of the Umbrellas are missing at least one of these (or in cases like Luther's and possibly Klaus' and Diego's, they've done something called "foreclosure" in which they define themselves wholly as their parent defines them--or as the exact opposite, without giving it real thought). I've already talked about emotion regulation. And where Klaus' brain development comes in, there are probably a lot of synapses he lost due to his teenage drug use. This may be partly why he's not a hand-to-hand badass like Allison. Issues in brain development could also be partially responsible for his lack of regard for long-term consequences and a degree of brain damage that could be responsible for his impulsiveness and lack of attentiveness, especially since he was using before the age of 15.
So, yeah. This was probably pretty disorganized, but I wanted to unpack some of that. It really was a great question, and I really appreciate it.

HEAR ME OUT alice and emmett has adhd and jasper is autistic. you, as a twilight fan who does these characters justice in your fics, please tell me it makes sense
so this was such a good question I decided to Phone a Friend, by which I mean multiple friends who actually have some combination of these conditions (I myself...don't know, there's been some speculation among family and friends that I could have adhd but I would never claim something like that without a professional diagnosis), so thank you to @goldeneyedgirl, @jasper-is-a-snack and another tumblr-less friend for weighing in here! keep in mind that neither I nor they are licensed professionals, though, so huge grain of salt for pretty much everything I'm about to say.
the initial comments were "accurate" and "yeah" and then we got into discussing specifics about allegory vs representation and ableism in fiction and it took a while, so. as usual we're going UNDER THE CUT
broader context:
again, take all of this with a grain of salt since smeyer's authorial intent was clearly not to write neurodivergent or disabled characters—she even included the ableist idea that vampirism ""cures"" disabilities in twilight, so. yeah we're talking pretty much exclusively fan interpretation and fic author characterization here
alice and adhd:
alice definitely ticks the boxes for excitability and hyperactivity, and she frequently zones out (though this is due to her visions, so ymmv on whether that counts.) she was also institutionalized as a human, so that would make extra sense if she’s neurodivergent and psychic instead of merely psychic.
this is reason #1 you can also choose to see her visions as an allegory for mental illness—they're usually treated as a "gift" rather than a disability, but they 100% do get in the way of her ability to Pass for neurotypical—think the other cullens having to escort her to her seat in MS because she's so zoned out, or edward and bella distracting their human friends in eclipse to keep them from noticing that alice is having a vision.
culturally, there's a long history of psychic characters being written with disabilities—think the "blind seer" trope, the “mad seer” trope, or the fainting/epileptic seer trope. it makes sense to me—the idea that you trade one sense for another, that there's some sort of Cost involved in accessing this Forbidden Knowledge of the future (it’s also rooted in the fact that the ancient greeks thought epilepsy was sacred and the delphic oracle used to do hella drugs probably, but that’s a separate thing that I miiiiight have already written part of an au fic about oops.) I have yet to read any articles or opinions on whether or not this trope is ableist, tbh (if you find one, send it my way!) it seems to me like something that could be executed respectfully or poorly depending on the story/creator.
personally, when I sit down to write alice I'm not thinking "I will now write a character with adhd," but I wouldn't be surprised if my writing sometimes reads that way. one thing I do keep in mind about alice—at least, gifted!alice—is that her brain is constantly going in so many directions. she's perpetually overloaded with information, and acts on it in a way that can seem impulsive from the outside. that, combined with her excitable energy, can totally read as adhd. I think writing, say, a modern au!alice who has adhd in place of her gift could be a strong and interesting choice (I'm just gonna assume "*if done respectfully" goes without saying.)
does it make sense? verdict: yeah
emmett and adhd:
we didn’t discuss emmett as much, so this is mostly my own opinions. the one comment I did get from a friend was “[emmett’s impulsiveness reads more as] part of being a vampire, and not necessarily part of emmett.”
which...as I’m typing that out I realize I kiiiind of disagree? I think impulsiveness is part of his characterization. my main experience of adhd is with my younger brother, and he’s a very emmett-like person, so emmett definitely reads that way to me. his lack of a verbal filter, the way he’s a very physical person who often breaks things because he was just having fun and didn’t think his actions through—that’s all very familiar.
plus, the fanon characterization of emmett is that he’s not at all academically inclined (which I like; he definitely seems like the kind of person who prioritizes KINDNESS AND FUN over educational achievement for himself) which lines up with the experiences of a lot of (*american, anyway) people with adhd struggling to get by in an educational system that is Maximum Unhelpful to them and falls wayyyy short of their needs.
I know plenty of writers in the fandom have written adhd!emmett and dyslexic!emmett, and I think that 100% works without changing up his character much. we don’t see him struggle socially in canon, but we also only really see him interact with other supernatural beings, so that could be a factor.
does it make sense? verdict: yep
jasper and autism:
this one is a little less clear-cut, and sparked most of the debate. there are a lot of “it depends” things going on here.
here are the Jasper Qualities™ my friend listed that she’s found to be common in herself and other autistic people:
likes rigid guidelines and routines
taken advantage of, suggesting some level of social blindness
easily swayed/not strong in his convictions
BUT. the huge roadblock here is that human!jasper is described in canon as “charismatic” and able to manipulate others. this sparked a conversation about whether his social aptitude could be a masking behavior or not, etc etc. but to me it kind of boils down to how you choose to interpret that one sentence.
because, to me, in my personal reading, we never once see jasper exhibit anything like charisma. he’s terse and aloof, polite but makes no effort to reach out and interact with strangers, much less influence them. I’ve always chosen to interpret the “charisma” line to mean he was a completely different person in his human life. (and also that smeyer is a lazy writer who didn’t give a fuck about consistently fleshing out characters who weren’t edward and bella, but I mean. water is wet, we’re talking about a more good-faith interpretation here.)
I’ve always rejected the idea that “vampires never [mentally] grow or change” because that’s so boring and absolutely doesn’t line up with anything in the story. like, one whole POINT is that edward changes and grows dramatically by the end of the series (not necessarily for the better, but that’s a different conversation.)
and in jasper’s case, going from being a human teen with a successful racist military career where he never saw actual violence to eighty years of murder and violent conditioning and war crimes is bound to have, uh. had an effect on him.
could that effect mimic some characteristics of autism? maybe. I think you could make equal arguments for/against.
but as my friend pointed out, a lot of the characteristics jasper has in common with autistic people are just Vampire Magic Things. like, due to a combination of his gift and his poor control he’s easily overstimulated and avoids large crowds. those are sensory issues! but they stem from being a vampire.
so where I land is that, like alice and adhd, depending on your reading, jasper can be more of an allegory for autism than an actual autistic character. if you’re autistic and see yourself in him, great—that makes sense. if you, like my friend, don’t like hc-ing characters as autistic just because they’re “a character who is ‘quiet’ and ‘thinks a lot’ and is ‘mysterious,’” that’s also valid.
I personally think he’s a gray area. you could write him as autistic without changing his character too much, but that’s mostly because his character is hard to pin down and leaves a lot of room for interpretation in the first place.
in my own writing, I tend to give him some sensory and social issues. this is part my reading of canon and part my attempt to sort of keep/allude to his canon Vampiric Struggles™ even in human au situations. again, I’m not sitting down like “I will now write an autistic character” (that would require me to do a lot more research!), just kind of going “ok, this guy hates crowds and is susceptible to sensory overload. it’s no longer because he’s a magical vampire, it’s just how he is—but this is both an interesting character trait and recognizable to my audience, so let’s keep it and use it to further the story.”
does it make sense? verdict: up for interpretation
in conclusion
I really hope I didn’t say anything ableist or insensitive here, but if I did, let me know and I’ll be cool about it if you’re cool about it! seriously, I’m always happy to be corrected in good faith.
I’d also be interested to hear more people weigh in on this if y’all have Thoughts. slide into my askbox or tag me in a post and I’ll rb it!
PS - THANK YOU FOR SAYING I DO THE CHARACTERS JUSTICE IN MY FICS; I TRY VERY HARD :’)

hello again! a hc request with oikawa, kita and daichi with a s/o who has a differently-abled sibling? and they're scared of their reaction because normally society does not treat them well?( if this request is a bit too much, its ok to not do it , but i personally feel most societies inadvertently discriminate against them)- <3 anon. Do hydrate and sleep well!:)
hi there <3 anon!! it’s definitely not too much to ask, but if i misrepresented anything or wrote anything wrong or offensive, please please please let me know! x rue
♡ their s/o has a differently-abled sibling
with daichi, oikawa, & kita
established relationship, gn!reader with a gn!sibling | fluff
→ sawamura daichi
treats your sibling like a future sibling-in-law because of course he’s going to marry you in the future
and daichi would never ever treat anyone poorly, regardless of his relationship to them, anyway
probably does a ton of research and asks you questions to makes sure he’s as educated as he can possibly be
but he’d make sure to never pry or make either of you feel uncomfortable
prioritizes you and your sibling’s needs above his own, always
and is happy to spend time with the both of you together
if any emergency with your sibling happened, he’s dropping everything to make sure that all is sorted
and that your sibling and you are doing alright
integrates himself into your family super well
seeing his caring nature and stability, you remember why you fell in love with him to begin with
→ oikawa tooru
might be a little surprised at first but would never show any offensive or ignorant behavior, especially not in front of your sibling
he’d be surprised that you were anxious about his reaction because he wants to be the best kind of person for you
so naturally, he wouldn’t think any less of you or your sibling
oikawa would try his best to befriend your sibling if they were okay with that
and he’d be really accommodating of any of their needs
would absolutely destroy anyone if they even rolled their eyes at your sibling
he can be hella intimidating, so it’s honestly terrifying for ableists (good. they can rot.)
doesn’t treat you or sibling differently than he would to other people (though you do notice he gets nicer to everyone in general hahahaha)
you and your family love him for that <3
→ kita shinsuke
he’s a sweetheart and it honestly doesn’t change any of his behaviors or thoughts towards you or your family at all
because he was already going to treat your sibling(s) as kindly as possible
and he loves you and your family so much -- how on earth would you having a differently-abled sibling change that?
kita really values family above all else and he’d want to spend as much time with you, your sibling, and even the rest of your family if you were okay with that
he would be a little sad to hear that you were worried about his reaction
but he’d be even sadder knowing that people have treated you or your sibling negatively in the past over something that shouldn’t even be judged harshly in the first place
always will support you and your sibling
because that’s just a part of his role as your s/o

I have a lot of thoughts about Percy’s junior year because Rick is stupid and literally forgot about an entire year of Percy’s life. I also made the executive decision that this is the year Percy backslides (but can you really call it backsliding if he never worked through the trauma?) Without further ado
with a little mist they patch up Percy’s extended absence but decide it’s better if he doesn’t go back to Goode. He doesn’t really care because he didn’t have any friends there besides Rachel, this is where he goes to AHS (literally the only thing I know about TOA, and the rest of it will be ignored)
He’s not going to school with Annabeth because she said senior year together, so she’s still in California, which he’s thankful for so he doesn’t have to feel like he’s disappointing her
Originally he had been reported as missing, but now that he’s back it raises too many questions (this is where they use the mist) so it’s resulted in a really weird transcript that makes it very unclear if he actually finished his sophomore year (he did it online over the summer, and he did pretty well too)
As always he is singled out as ‘the weird kid’. This is because he only wears the longer versions of the uniform (even when it’s really hot out), has a problem with staring, and the grey streak in his hair (ignoring cannon for this one)
He makes approximately two friends (kinda?) and all of the popular kids hate him
There’s this ‘professional administrative counselor and student consultant’ who isn’t an actual counselor and thinks Percy is hella sus. A lot of its because Percy’s transcript and record, but basically he tries to not let ‘bad kids’ into AHS and he wants Percy to leave so the school’s reputation doesn’t get tarnished
Some of the teachers are nice but a lot of them are ableist
Due to that and Percy’s severely under diagnosed PTSD, anxiety, and depression, his grades really fall, but he doesn’t tell anyone
Chemistry is his favorite class and chemistry and history are the only classes he does well in.
This one popular kid who is on the football team or something really likes to physically bully people and in Percy’s attempt not to reveal how strong he is he just subs in for the kids who used to receive a regular beating instead of fighting back
At one point he accidentally catches a punch on reflex (while tons of people are watching, mind you) and freaks out, blah blah blah, that fight ends up with his hand severely broken in multiple locations
BUT he doesn’t like going to the hospital/doctor’s/nurse’s because those are the people who ask a lot of questions about his scars and old injuries and such, so he just walks around for like four hours with a broken hand
(insert my Percy is ambidextrous head cannon here, which comes into play)
eventually his (kinda)friends make him go to the nurse and it’s just straight up not a good time for anyone. Paul has to pick him up. He has to go to the ER. This is when he really starts lying to his parents because he doesn’t want them to know about the fights
He’s kinda all over the place on who he’s talking to, which he feels guilty about, but he just doesn’t have the energy to talk to people who knew him before all this because it’s harder to fake being that happy again (even though he wasn’t that happy even then)
Which brings me to something a bit happier, every Friday he visits Camp Jupiter. No matter what. He started it about a month after the war, it keeps him connected with Hazel and Frank and some other people he was friendly with, but the new thing is Reyna
It takes a bit to get through all of the stuff between them, but they end up becoming really good friends, to the extent that she, Hazel, and Frank become the sole people that he confides in. (Reyna knows that they’re special, but the other two don’t)
There is definitely a big fight he has with Sally in his second semester, and he shows up at Reyna’s quarters, it’s 11 pm, she opens the door wordlessly and he spends the weekend at CJ.
Reyna’s also the person he talks to most about Gabe. He has a lot of built up stuff there and she works through some residual feelings towards her dad too.
He and Nico are in a lot of contact during this year, with varying degrees of tension. They start off really well, but as Percy falls further back it gets a really weird vibe because he still has a whole thing about protecting Nico. Basically Percy’s not good at being vulnerable right now. But they do get better and eventually develop a sibling like relationship.
Talking about sibling like relationships: Hazel! She’s amazing. Due to the Friday visits and her and Percy already being super close she starts calling him her brother really quickly and he picks up on it immediately. She’s probably the person he’s most honest too, and they spar a lot.
His and Annabeth’s relationship is kinda weird too. They both still really love each other, and they talk a lot, she starts working through some of her issues and he’s really good about being there and helping her, but he’s also really good at hiding his own problems around her. (This is a new development, she could read him until he went missing or Tartarus, I haven’t decided)
He becomes really spotty at communication. Sometimes he won’t text back for a week, and he used to be really good at getting back to people. This is the only thing Annabeth has evidence of. The rest is just a feeling of off-ness so she can’t really see that something’s wrong with him.
Panic attacks and breakdowns become supper common for him. Usually at least one a day, but he’s good about hiding it. However his powers, tied to his emotions, start going haywire and that’s really difficult to hide, especially at school.
He has a really bad panic attack during chemistry one day and his friends find him in the bathroom and try to get the nurse and get him to go home. It wasn't very pretty.
He looses so much sleep that it rivals Annabeth ‘I stay up ‘till 3 for fun’ Chase
Also becomes a low-key vigilante? Not really, but he does stop several robberies and muggings and its just the right number to look a little suspicious but also not.
during this whole ordeal he’s spending a lot of time at the school’s pool. At first there isn’t much swimming because he’s still afraid of drowning/suffocation, but Reyna’s just like “Well if you became a better swimmer that wouldn’t be as big of a problem” and he rolls with it.
Part of his whole healing thing is learning more about competitive swimming and talking with the swim coach. And of course he gets really good at it. Sometime during his second semester he does end up joining the team.
It’s past competition season but the coach thinks he needs it so he just,,, joins
He actually gets along with most of the team REALLY well, and around this time he works on strengthening his relationship with his (kinda)friends, not his actual friends.
Honestly I’ve been considering turning these into a fic, so maybe when I finish Peanut m&m’s there will be another multi chapter in my future.

This is a genuine question and not disagreement, but why is Sherlock ableist? I understand the queerbaiting, but it's been years since I watched it and don't remember everything D:
Okay I just woke up from a nap so this may not be as well articulated as it deserves to be.
Sherlock (the character) is, supposedly, a “high-functioning sociopath.”
I’m not gonna go into the problems of the “sociopath” label because honestly I’ve heard conflicting things from various other neurodivergent people, but if anyone wants to add on to that feel free.
“Hight-functioning” is a weird af label to use in front of something like “sociopath” because as far as I know it’s never been used for anything other than autism, where it’s still a hella problematic thing because what it essentially boils down to is “able to blend in with neurotypical society.” Not a proper diagnostic category by any means since a single autistic person can learn to fake neurotypical behaviour well enough in one way, fail in another, have good days and bad days, blah blah blah. Plenty of other autistic people have explained it better. (More on Sherlock and autism later.)
Funnily enough, Sherlock isn’t close to being a “high-functioning” anything, since he’s VERY obviously a neurodivergent something and isn’t masking at all ever, which tells me that Moffat doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about and is just throwing words around to try to sound smart (and horribly failing, for any audience member who knows anything about the subject matter.)
Anyway, what we would call a “sociopath” is covered in the DSM-5 as “Antisocial Personality Disorder.” As in, it’s an actual diagnosis and people have to match certain behavioural patterns to be diagnosed with it. Sherlock does NOT meet a diagnosis.
Here’s an article on the APD diagnosis.
“The pattern of disregarding others’ rights is met by fulfilling at least three of the following seven behaviors:
Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors, as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest
Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure
Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults
Reckless disregard for safety of self or others
Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations
Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent or rationalizing”
Of the characters of BBC Sherlock, Moriarty is the one that best fits the diagnosis, and even fulfills the stereotype of being “charming.” Sherlock, however, is NOT a sociopath.
You know what he is, though? Autistic.
I don’t even feel like I have to explain that, since if you know anything about autism then you should take one look at Sherlock and go “yeah that’s an autistic man.” But I’ll put in an effort. (Keep in mind, it’s been years since I’ve watched the show too, so I’ve probably missed something.) He understands criminal behaviour, and knows how to read evidence at a level which makes him a genius: special interest! BUT, he’s terrible at understanding other human beings: he doesn’t understand social queues or appropriate behaviour in regards to other people’s feelings. As evidenced by S3E1 (and also the wedding ep, whenever that was), this is not out of malicious intent or lack of trying. He’s simply not good at it.
So Sherlock is autistic. However, he is not GOOD autistic representation, because he’s autistic representation that the writers (and actor) apparently didn’t realise was autistic representation, and also because the Asshole Autistic Genius (but we won’t use the a-word) is a very tired media trope. The fact that they took autistic traits and slapped a “sociopath” label on them is yikes enough, and is evidence of the fact that these aspects of Sherlock’s character are only there for a) using neurodivergency for edgy points, and b) a source of humour for the neurotypical audience.
The fact that he’s acted by Benedict Cumberbatch, who also plays an ACTUAL autistic man in The Imitation Game, and plays him the exact same way as Sherlock (asshole genius) despite the fact that the historical Alan Turing was supposedly a very nice person, makes it even more gross. As does the fact that Cumberbatch apparently thinks that presenting autistic characters in hero roles gives autistic people “false hope.”

Why do Karkat and Caliborn have so many apparent similarities?
This might seem like an odd question at first, considering Hussie is known for using “prototype concepts” and mixing and matching them to make more refined versions down the line. For instance, his comics on the poorly namedTeam Special Olympics site featured much intentional homophobia, racism, bad dialogue and worse art, and Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff was a later execution of those concepts which made it clearer that he was lampooning bad webcomics. To use an in-universe example, Nepeta was used as the in-universe avatar for audience engagement long before Calliope was a blip on the horizon. So, why am I bothering to ask this? Karkat was obviously just a proto-Caliborn, right? Well, let’s look at the facts:
They both type in gray
They both type in all caps and use the rudest possible terms for things
They both have candy red blood and are in some way related to lime blood (Karkat through mutation and Caliborn through his sister)
But those are all superficial similarities. Let’s go a bit deeper.
They’re both pretty sexist. Much as I love Karkat, he does say some shit that displays a pretty condescending view towards women in canon. You can point out that he was initially meant to parody internet trolls, and that he’s overcompensating due to Alternian culture, and that he Lives In A Society and whatnot, but regardless, he’s pretty sexist during most of Act 5.
They both serve as a “typical” example of what their race is like, and display elements of their culture (or lack thereof, since Caliborn makes it clear that an asocial species would have no need for culture) despite not being very typical themselves. Karkat is a mutantblood who doesn’t even experience the quadrants correctly, and Caliborn never dominated the way he was meant to
They both make friends with Jack Noir, though for entirely different reasons. Karkat makes friends with Jack because his natural inclination is to try to be friends with everyone, no matter the circumstance, while Caliborn forms an uneasy alliance (note that he explicitly calls him not a friend) with Jack because they’re equally bloodthirsty.
They both have an interesting dynamic with one Gamzee Makara. Admittedly, because of his level of importance, nearly everyone has some sort of relationship with Gamzee, but it is interesting that it’s concilliatory on both ends: Karkat pacified Gamzee during Murderstuck while Gamzee took care of Caliborn during his childhood.
Finally, the biggest bit of similarity between them: they’re both terrible at art. This is, honestly, the main reason I made this post. In Homestuck Book 5: Act 5 Act 2 Part 1, Hussie mentions that Karkat is the only character who’s as bad at art as Caliborn, going on to say, quote, “The fact that Karkat and Caliborn have a bit of overlap in personality and typing style may correlate somewhat with their artistic sensibilities as well. Like there's a certain part of the brain that's overactive in both kids, and possibly in all very special boys of their ilk. “
What, exactly, did Hussie mean by this? He’s previously not shied away from describing Caliborn’s brain as broken in some way, and it’s clear that Karkat deals with serious self-loathing issues; could either of those be it? Does this mean Caliborn’s self love isn’t nearly as unflappable as we thought? Is it a mask? Was he just saying Karkat and Caliborn are extremely “left-brained” in the traditional sense? This seems less than likely, to me. While I do think Caliborn is pretty left-brained (the jury’s still out on whether he can draw a CURVE, for the sufferer’s sake), Karkat, much as he fronts like this LOGICAL, NO-BULLSHIT, CUT-TO-THE-CHASE MACHO MAN, is far more in touch with his emotional side than anything else. In all honesty, he doesn’t even strike me as one of the more intellegent Homestuck characters, at least not in the traditional sense. (Please note that saying a character whom I adore very much and identify with heavily isn’t as smart as other HS characters is like pulling teeth for me).
I do wonder what exactly Hussie meant there, though. The word “special” is of course loaded, both within Homestuck and without. I’m sure I needn’t tell you of its perjorative, ableist meaning, considering I brought it up in the second sentence of this post. It’s very likely that Hussie is just making an off-colour joke here. Let’s act as though he isn’t for the sake of exploring this a little more though. Within the comic, the first thing I think of when hearing the word special is Special Stardust, which is of course inextricably linked to cherubim. Gamzee is a frequent partaker, as are Caliborn and Calliope. However, another place it’s used, especially with the context of a “special mind”, is with Jake English. (Caliborn is even the one to tell him this!) Our other major page, Tavros Nitram, is also linked to special stardust and also behaves similarly to Jake, which might lend water to this theory.
So, then, one must ask, what exactly is being said here? it’s suggested that Karkat and Caliborn have... something in common with one another, and furthermore with Jake and Tavros, but what? On this page right here, Caliborn says their shared uniqueness is because they have to work harder than everyone else. This makes sense, as we see Caliborn’s journey to Lordship is a long and arduous one, and we also see Jake and Tavros having to struggle to reach their full potential as Pages. Karkat has to fight his inner demons for a long time, and by the end of the comic it’s clear he still has a long way to go. I doubt that that’s what Hussie meant, considering he specified “a part of the brain that’s overactive,” but I do think it sheds some light on matters. I especially think it might give us a new theory relating to the Knight class: If it’s truly meant to be a counterpart to Page, then maybe that means they ALSO have to work hard to reach their full potential? This might just be a reflection of Karkat’s personal journey though, considering Dave managed to get a handle on Time shit fairly early in the game.
This post was the equivalent of me violently shrugging and stating self-evident facts for a few minutes, but it’s also getting a bit long in the tooth, so I think I’m gonna end it here. I’m open to feedback/counter-theories/telling me BKEW already came up with this theory in 2012

“You’re Daredevil.”
“Yes,” Matt repeated for the fourth time, slightly annoyed at Stark asking him that question over and over.
“That guy running around Manhattan in fetish gear of Satan?”
“It’s not-“ “Yes,” Foggy said at the same time and it would be hilarious if Matt wasn’t double offended at his friend sharing the billionaire’s opinion. Surely the suit of armour wasn’t that bad? It protected him! …better than the old one, anyway.
“Who’s Daredevil?” Steve asked in Matt’s voice and it was just ridiculous, the man himself asking the question.
“Well, I would say you are now,” Tony sassed the captain and earned what looked like ‘I’m so done with you’ glare in return. Matt tried to ignore the expressiveness of his own blind eyes, but it was really hard. “He’s a vigilante operating in Hell’s Kitchen, wearing a kinky costume of the Devil. He’s formerly known as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.”
“And why am I only learning about him now?”
Matt gulped at the irritated tone, not happy at making Steve angry. Then again, he couldn’t say he wasn’t grateful for some of the Avengers not knowing about his alter ego activities. It was a pleasant surprise.
“Because you’re wearing his meat-suit.”
“Tony, I swear to God-“
“Blasphemy,” Matt blurted out on instinct.
Bruce chuckled. “Oh, that is precious.”
“What is?” Foggy wondered, asking the question Matt wanted to.
“Ah, Steve is known for-“
“Don’t you dare-“ Steve warned him, in vain of course.
“-not being a fan of foul language. He once scolded Tony when he said ‘Shit’ during a mission. It was hilarious,” Bruce supplied helpfully, causing Steve groan. Matt’s lips twitched.
“Cool. Now when we have the whole secrecy thing out of the way, can we please focus on the fact these two are not themselves? I’d like my friend back,” Foggy grumbled, crossing his arms on his chest.
The bluntness made Matt smile; until he realized that the process of returning to his own body might be harder than it-… nope, it actually did look pretty complicated, it couldn’t possibly get more difficult. He sighed and mirrored Foggy’s posture.
“Oh, so we’re not talking about the fact that the blind dude claims to be a ninja? “ Tony Stark asked wryly, turning his palms towards the ceiling. “How the hell is he doing all the parkour shit? The punching? You know, everything?”
“Captain Rogers said it. Enhanced senses. I navigate like that. It’s very far from being able to see, but clearly it works. Can we please move on?” Matt answered, half-annoyed, half-irritated.
This was exactly what he hadn’t wanted to happen. He hated the fact itself that the Avengers knew who he was, let alone dealing with ableist comments and scientific questions.
No, thank you. I’ll walk myself out.
“Of course. We have bigger issues at hand,” the captain came to the rescue unexpectedly. Matt didn’t care why, if it was impatience, compassion, pity, or some weird sense of understanding; he was just grateful.
“Hey! I want to-“
“Thank you. Two nights back, I busted an arms deal,” Matt announced, cutting Stark off.
“I read about that,” he noted, not impressed, while Steve hummed in appreciation.
“Yeah. Well, there was one strange box. When I opened it and touched the thing inside, it disappeared. Just… vaporized, into thin air. My best guess? That’s-“
“-the source,” Steve finished. “And it just disappeared?”
“Well, I couldn’t see anything, but… I couldn’t touch it again, sense it anyhow. It was just gone.”
“That’s kinda weird. Why didn’t you tell me that?” Foggy demanded, sounding wounded.
Matt gave him a look that spoke thousands of words he hoped. “You never want to hear about that.”
Foggy only thought for a second before pouting. “That’s… not wrong. Okay, fair, moving on.”
“It’s the same night we picked up the signal for the first time and it only has been growing stronger, leading us straight to the artefact,” Bruce stated, clearly only for Matt’s and Foggy’s sake.
Well. That was not concerning at all.
“So…?” Foggy pried, not sure what it meant. Matt was glad he didn’t have to be the one to ask.
“Well, we can try what you’ve suggested. We can touch it again – we still have it here, the thing I touched at least,” Steve announced with a shrug.
Matt gulped. He had a feeling it couldn’t be that easy.
He wasn’t wrong.
He sensed the phantom of the energy he had felt that night radiating from the item, almost afraid to touch the artefact so it wouldn’t blow up, but when he did, nothing happened. Neither when Steve tried. They touched it at the same time even, but it did nothing.
“Great. Now what?” Tony demanded, slightly irritated.
The answer came in a form of a clap of thunder.
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
Back in his mind, Steve was aware that Thor arrived. But the rest of his body didn’t like the sound of it – the terrible noise rattled in his bones, his ears feeling like they might actually bleed. The usually subtle tremble of the walls almost knocked him off balance and his palms went to cover his ears. He subconsciously crouched, a brief memory of being in a battlefield washing over him.
A split second later, the vibrations stopped. While Steve could still feel and hear the echo, he forced himself to breathe and listen in, knowing that the more he would let in, the faster he would calm down; the easier the reality would reach him.
It’s just Thor. A friend.
“What on Earth was that?!” Foggy complained and with slight amusement Steve couldn’t really indulge, the captain found him by Tony Stark’s side as if he was seeking protection.
“That would be Thor,” Bruce informed him swiftly, already telling Friday to send the god of thunder their way.
“As in the… the guy with the hammer. The god?”
“Yes, Nelson. But he’s more of an alien than god,” Tony hummed, manoeuvring his body from the lawyer’s half-hearted grip.
With several deep breaths, Steve found himself relax. There was definitely no danger here. None of these people would harm him or anyone else, none of them posed a treat – no need to be alert. Just calm down.
Except Steve sensed Thor coming. He could sense the vibrations of the floor as Thor’s heavy boots were falling on it, the shuffle of his armour and most importantly, the air of danger around him. It felt as if the air was sparkling with electricity, prickles and lightning, almost assaulting the space.
Steve wasn’t afraid of Thor – but he appreciated the majesty and the power of the god/alien more than ever.
The door slid open, revealing the Asgardian in all his glory – or Steve supposed – and he marched in hurriedly.
“Holy shit,” Foggy breathed out, his and Matt’s hearts speeding up. Hell, even the strange device in Tony’s chest sounded differently.
“Thor,” Steve greeted him simultaneously with Bruce only to realize that he was not in his own body and Thor had no clue who he was.
Which led him to a simple question. Was here a connection between this whole ‘I woke up in someone else’s body’ thing and Thor’s appearance? Steve had a feeling it did.
“I come bearing unpleasant tiding. An Asgardian artefact has been activated on Earth-“
Oh. Now that would make sense.
“Hello to you too, Drapes,” Tony snarked, giving the god a pause in both speech and step. ”And, you think?”
“My apologies. Hello, Stark. Doctor Banner. Captain. …humans.”
Foggy choked on air, while Matt kept his composure despite the tension in his muscles. Steve cleared his throat as the god had been turned to his original body when greeting him.
“Hi, Thor. Would the artefact happen to cause… I don’t know, exchange of bodies and minds?” Steve asked blatantly, not sure how to phrase it better.
He could immediately feel the air shift as the Asgardian turned to him.
“How would you know that, mortal?” Thor demanded, half-curious, half-threatening.
This time Matt spoke up. “Because he’s Captain Rogers. I’m Matt Murdock.”
Thor’s head snapped to Steve’s actual voice and then back. “Oh.”
“Yeah, we know. I guess you see how that’s a problem?” Tony hummed, the smartass he was.
“Yes.”
There was a short silence, interrupted but Tony’s impatient voice; Steve had a feeling Foggy would have beaten him to it if he hadn’t been overtaken by a respectful awe and… fear.
“Good, care to elaborate? What is this artefact and how do we reverse its effect for instance?”
Thor seemed somewhat sheepish, but his voice held great confidence.
“The artefact is my brother’s doing-“
“Of course it is…”
“-and it is meant as a jest. If you touch the artefact, its other half activates and lures another being to itself. When touched as well, the spirits shall exchange their hosts.”
“Alright. So it’s a very advanced prank. How do we reverse it?” Tony asked the burning question.
Thor shook his head. “You do not.”
“WHAT?!” sounded unison from all presents minus the god, shock immediately falling on the room.
Steve’s heart positively stopped – both his own and the body’s he was occupying now.
‘You do not?’ So we stay like this forever?! No!
That was not an option! Steve was Steve and Matt was Matt and they both had duties, they both had their place in the world, they both had their life and in their current situation, there was no way they could just deal with switched bodies! Steve couldn’t rush into battle blind with his other senses exploding and Matt sure as hell couldn’t just walk into a courtroom as Steve Rogers to defence!
Not to mention Matt was running around like a vigilante, which… yeah, Steve had still several questions about that dubious activity – not that he would hold it against Matt. Steve of all people knew that sometimes rules and laws stood in the path of justice, as much as he hated it.
It was kinda funny though. A vigilante. An outlaw. And a lawyer. If the situation was less dreadful, Steve might even appreciate the irony, but that was not the time and if Steve was about to be stuck in Matt’s body forever, he everything but appreciated it.
“You’re telling me they can’t go back to their own bodies?” Bruce clarified, sounding seriously on edge. Or Steve thought so – he was too busy freaking out on the inside and maybe a little on the outside too.
Yeah, Steve and Matt were definitely hyperventilating now.
And Thor laughed. To Steve, it sounded like a horse neighing right in his ear.
“Oh no, the effects wear off on their own. There is nothing you can do to speed it up, though.”
Collective sigh of relief was the answer. Oh thank god. Thank God.
“Way to give me a heart-attack, pal,” Foggy huffed, his hand on his chest as if he wanted to make sure his heart was still beating in his ribcage. Steve would gladly confirm it was. He could hear it, which he didn’t find less insane than an hour ago.
Speaking of hearing heartbeats, Thor’s actually did sound like a series of claps of thunder.
“And you would be?”
“Foggy Nelson. Matt’s best friend,” the lawyer hurried, offering his hand to shake. Steve prayed the god didn’t crush the poor man’s fingers. Matt’s/Steve’s hand followed as he introduced himself again, but Thor’s attention returned to the other man.
“Do you control the fog here on Midgard?” Thor asked, intrigued.
Steve’s lips twitched, few silent snorts echoing in the room. Could anyone blame Thor for coming to that assumption?
Steve could hear blood rushing to Foggy’s face in embarrassment. The longer Steve spent in the man’s presence, the harder it was to resist the urge to call him Foggy; the nickname suited him, expressing his kind – and perhaps a bit goofy – nature perfectly.
“Uhm… no?”
“Ah. That is confusing.”
Tony clapped his hands twice. “Great. Now what do we do? How long until they… go back?”
Steve believed that the strange movement he registered coming from Thor was a shrug of his monstrous shoulders.
“…well, it might take a while,” the alien admitted slowly, sounding as if he was charming a carefree smile. “But do not be alarmed, it is harmless.”
“Harmless? Really?! He’s blind, Thor! He’s literally blind!” Tony pointed at Matt’s Murdock body impudently. “Imagine someone would attack him now – either his own body or the one he-- wears!.”
The face Steve wore automatically twisted in a grimace at Tony’s phrasing.
“Yeah, I second that! What if it wasn’t me coming to the apartment in the morning?”
“Oh,” Thor hesitated. “That might be inconvenient. I assume it is not customary to train blind men in combat on Earth then?”
Matt took a deep breath, his pulse wavering. For some reason, Steve’s skin cringed. Strange. Another involuntary reaction of Matt’s body to the discussed subject?
“In this particular case…” Steve heard his own voice whispered by Matt, drawing a tiny whimper from Foggy.
It took that tiny sound for Steve to understand this was possibly the worst topic ever, even though he had no idea what the story behind their reaction was. He cleared his throat.
“Well, clearly Matt’s capable of protecting himself. But yeah, I would appreciate being back to myself too.”
Matt took another steadying breath, trying to remain at least a bit calm. “Thor, how long is a while?”
“I am sorry, my friend, I do not know.”
“I’m… not your friend, he is,” Matt noted with a sigh, subtly pointing towards Steve in Matt Murdock’s body. Only to be rewarded with Thor’s confused deep voice.
“Of course you are. I am a friend to all humanity.”
“That’s very godlike of you,” Foggy remarked. Steve (and probably Matt) shot him a glare. “What, that was funny! And true!”
Bruce cleared his throat, supressing laugh. “Okay. What do we do in the meantime? I don’t think either of you should leave – mainly because of the security risks.”
Steve gulped. He would fight until his/Matt’s last breath if it came to it, but he couldn’t argue with that logic.
“Alright. I don’t have anywhere else to be for now.”
“Well…” Matt considered slowly, turning to his law partner.
“Say no more, Murdock. As much as I would love to see our clients’ faces when it would be Captain America greeting them in the office, I do have some common sense left. I’ll just call Karen to close the office for the day, okay?”
“Thanks, Fog. But… what if it’s… more than a day? What if-“
“Forget ‘what if’s for now. I got your back, buddy.” Foggy patted Matt’s bicep in a friendly manner and then retreated his hand quickly as if he got burnt. “Sorry, Captain! Didn’t mean to grope!”
The weird sound that followed was hard to identify – but it Steve could take a guess, it was Tony snorting the water he had helped himself with through his nose.
Steve’s lips twitched in amusement at Foggy’s embarrassment.
“It’s alright. I know this is all very… confusing.”
“Yeah, no kidding. And I’m just the one watching…” Foggy murmured under his breath, exiting the room to make a phone call. “Yeah, Karen, it’s me, look, we have a small issue with Matt waking up in Steve Rogers’ body, yes, that Steve Rogers aka Captain America’s body-“
“…what?”
Steve smiled for himself, trying to tune out the conversation outside of the room. He had a distant feeling that this Karen woman (based on the fact she apparently also knew about Matt Murdock’s double life) was an exceptional employer and she definitely deserved a raise for dealing with… well, unnatural occurrences.
“So now we just sit and wait?” Matt stated more than asked.
Steve sighed.
Yeah, it looked like it. Steve hated sitting and waiting. But right now, it was apparently the only option. Unless they wanted to make this even messier and hurt someone – starting with themselves.

43. Do you smile at strangers?
meme → hella cute questions topic → do you smile at strangers? what business? → queries warnings → ableist slurs
Passing people on the street, Kaz had seen a variety of reactions, and tried to shift the perceptions of everyone’s. When they first saw him, they would avoid eye contact all together - a kid, sitting on the streets. Grubby and dirty. They pitied him, sure - but not enough to help. People instead chose to look away and pretend they didn’t see him, even though Kaz knew all too well that they very much did. So he made it clear he saw them - he would stare unblinking at people, a child with a dirty face and rags, and watch as they walked past, with their pockets full of coin and comfortable in the knowledge that they walked by one more person in need.
After he’d broken his leg, though, they did look - with even more pity, a semblance of empathy that left a bitter taste in his mouth. Cripple, he’d hear whispered. It didn’t bother Kaz that people talked about him, but it bothered that they saw him as weak - that other gang members thought they could jump him in an alley because of his bad leg. He’d gone up against the three of them and ended up damaging it even worse while on crutches, but he’d beaten them all.
That was the day he went looking for a cane. He didn’t just want anything; he wanted a weapon. He wanted to build his reputation, create an image to remind people he wasn’t to be messed with. So that, next time, instead of pity or thinking he could easily be taken down? People would cross the street to avoid coming near him.

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?God honestly, a lot??  I’m fairly generous when it comes to ships unless there’s something Problematic™ or something that I just personally don’t like.  Rivals-to-lovers relationships are pretty hard to get me to like, and if I DO like them it would be because there’s a “friend” stage in-between there.  I probably don’t need to list off all the problematic ships that I don’t get because Icky lmao, but some examples of ones that have tropes about them that I don’t like but I’d never judge someone else for shipping would be Raven x BB, Matt x Sora, honestly basically any Edgy Loner Rival from Digimon x Digimon Girl™ (so like, Koji x Zoey, Christopher x Nene, Rei x Eri, ect) Bakugou x basically anyone (Kiri is okay ig because Kiri isn’t able to be manipulated by Bakugou, other Bakusquad members may be similar but idk, but I think that Bakugou has a LOT of shit he needs to work on before he should even be shipped with someone like Iida or Todoroki, and honestly Kiri deserves better too because Kiri isn’t a therapist and Bakugou has a long way to go before becoming a non-toxic person), SasuSaku, Allura x Lotor, and uhhh…god I’m sure there are way way more but that’s just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?*Well I don’t think the ones I listed above would count as “NoTP”s because there’s just, really not anything *that* wrong with them (with the exception of like Bak/ude/ku which technically falls under the Bakugou one) and I’m just really over being anti-”anything that isn’t inherently nasty” because shipping drama is fucking stupid.  So I guess I’ll list off the most popular problematic ones in my fandoms- Bak/ude/ku, Slade x Terra (godgodgod gross, I know where people get it from because its in the original comic [slade’s a Bad Dude and Terra is a shitty teenager] but people DEADASS DO THIS WITH TT ANIMATED TERRA AND ITS UGHHHHH STOP THAT YA NASTIES), Sheith (stop), Shidge (stop), Koji x Koichi (STOP), Kari x Tai (STOP STOP STOP), yknow all that jazz- also apparently some people ship the digidestined with their digimon partners?  Which I mean.  I don’t really know where that falls on the problematic spectrum but please don’t do that.  OH, oh, one NoTP from question one that’s def a NoTP - and I’m iffy about how problematic it is if you did like an AU where it was endgame or something but I really do dislike it so ill put it here - is Lotor x Allura.  I didn’t like it to begin with, I tried denying that Voltron was going in that direction with season 5, I thought I was right but I was wrong, BUT Allura is 10000% done with Lotor and thank GOD she is and I don’t believe it’s a healthy relationship on either party’s part.  Idk about age and shit - all I know is I’m not a fan and I’m happy it was killed in the same season it was confirmed in (and god BLESS Allura for sticking up for what she believes in even at the cost of personal relationships, god I love her SO MUCH)  I’m also really not a big fan of SasuSaku but w/e I haven’t seen enough of naruto or boruto to really make a final call on that.
9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?This is only a handful that I can think of off the top of my head butWould erase from existence if given the chance:- Mineta (BNHA): he’s a pervert I don’t like him- Jiraiya (Naruto): he’s a pervert I don’t like him, he’s also an adult which is worse (although he only says questionable things to Naruto, not any of the young girls, and he’s not bi he’s definitely straight, but that still doesn’t make it okay) and he’s just an absolute fucking asshole in every single way.  He’s tied with mineta though because Jiraiya at least has some good influences on the plot, but still that’s not enough to justify him.- Onion (SU): NOWHERE NEAR AS BAD AS THE OTHER TWO, he’s just really annoying (and is it bad I get ableist vibes from him? LIKE I’m not gonna accuse Rebecca here, because if ANYTHING I think Rebecca was trying to make Onion a sympathetic “weirdo” where even if their hobbies are very strange to you, you should still respect them. but I think it falls a little flat and I still just don’t like him)Would kill if given the physical (not legal) opportunity, but I wouldn’t want to erase them from the show: - Slade (TT): *still crying nearly a year after watching the Terra arc* that arc legitimately put me in a depressive episode and I’m not even kidding, the only reason I didn’t feel worse is because I was laughing at myself for getting so upset over a kids cartoon from over a decade ago.  I’m still upset though.- Biomon (Appmon): *more crying* I HATE HIM AND WHAT HE DID TO REI, I’M NOT EVEN DONE WITH THE ARC SO DONT SPOIL IT BUT HHHHWould punch in the face if given the physical and preferably legal opportunity:- Bakugou (BNHA): angry explodey gremlin needs to be put in his damn place- Marcus (Digimon): like not in a mean way because his heart is in the right place but he’s also really annoying.
27. Least shippable character?Honestly gonna have to go with Pidge on this one??  There’s like…no other characters her age.  I hc her as ace/aro but I know some people hc her as a lesbian which is also hella valid (I’m just an imprinting bastard) so I mean that probably doesn’t help but like.  There’s not even anyone I can kinda lowkey ship her with if someone asked me what I would ship her with if I had to pick someone.  It’s weird, there’s not a whole lot of characters like that tbh.
