mmm essay about sally and kid gort in the tags (cw for child abuse, mentions of suicide, animal cruelty and a murder attempt. i always hope i don’t have to say this but just in case: i don’t excuse or condone any of her or gort’s behaviour at all.) this is literally not even touching upon everything i have to say because i hit the fucking tag limit lmao. NOBODY READ IT’S BAD BRAINSTORMING I JUST NEEDED TO GET IT OUT SOMEHOW
#thinkin too much about gortie side characters again.#sally this time and why she specifically talks about him the way she does#like dravo is obviously still shitty but to me he was. ‘just ‘neglectful#while sally actively hated and even felt terrorised by her own child#like. it’s not like i don’t understand her at all.#imagine you and your love don’t have much besides each other and your shop and you get pregnant and ready to raise a child#only for it to not be a child he didn’t and doesn’t cry ever and he learns everything so much sooner than most but then he never calls you#his parents and it’s not just a petty thing kids do sometimes you feel that he doesn’t see you as family and the worst part is that you#agree deep down#and as he gets older he doesn’t have any friends and actively rejects the notion of the entire concept#but then as time passes you hear about how he has entire groups of children following him and then several of them commit suicide#and that thing coming to sit with you and dravo at the dinner table says that he did what you did last week when the axe to chop wood broke#and you discarded it and got a new one#and he has these habits of ripping out flowers and making sure that they don’t regrow#and then you hear rumours about a friend’s daughter’s cat disappearing and think nothing of it#until you visit his tree house a month later and find a declawed cat and birds with clipped wings and crushed bugs that he keeps fondly#and then you see him with other children and they don’t know and his face is different and body language is entirely different#and were it not for the fact that you know better you would never see anything but a normal child#and you know that you are one who painstakingly brought this thing that should not be into the world and so you decide to end it all one da#and go to him as he’s asleep with the knife shaking in your hand#but he cries when you’re above him! screams at the top of his lungs!#so you beg for forgiveness even though you don’t deserve it through tears but as soon as the knife is put away you see the act drop and fee#his clever fingers having twisted your brain inside and out and you know that you can do nothing#and so the opportunity arises to at least remove him out of your life if not everyone’s lives and you take it immediately.#but you heard him talk. how he will close his fist around the world one day. and you know that it is not a matter of if but when.#like. imagine that. jesus dude.#like i hc her as someone that is messy and does not know a lot about life and she certainly wouldn’t have been a good mother but the love#or at least desire to love is there somewhere. and believing that having a child is really the only somewhat meaningful thing she can do#with her life. she’s not some hero or rich or anything of note. so there’s a lot obligation and not genuine desire for family here.#but she never really got the chance to be an actual mother in the first place so. who knows what that might have looked like

Can I please request the female douma in hasbin hotel I just saw the new trailer and thought about my favourite demon lazy demon .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ohhhh, Hazbin Hotel! That pretty cool! Deal ;)
Thanks for the Request ❤️
Hazbin Hotel x Douma Reader
Genre: Headcanons
Reader: neutral
Warnings: Douma itself is a Warnings (Cults, cannibalism), Hell, Alastor, mentions of alcohol, long work.
You died during the Taisho era, in Japan. having lived a fairly long and…full life, so to speak.
You were born with a unique appearance! with Rainbow irises that made you extremely popular in the area where you lived.
So much so that the people in your family believed that you had a special gift for speaking with the gods, so they formed a cult around you.
without knowing that in this way they would be awakening the darker side of your being.
As you grew up, being worshiped by the cult your parents had made, you couldn't really learn to differentiate emotions, which was frustrating. You wanted to feel SOMETHING, anything. have the experience.
and you tried everything.
do good things, do bad things, help the cult people with words you didn't really mean, scam, hurt, hurt animals, hurt yourself, hurt others in multiple ways, etc.
Even if they generated a certain feeling of emotion in you, you wouldn't say that they filled you up.
until you decided to try killing certain disciples and eating them to get rid of them.
and it was a success! You finally started to feel the emotions that others talked so much about!
Although of course, not all good things come for free, when you died there was no doubt that you would fall to hell, and so it was.
Honestly, You were very surprised to have fallen into hell, not because you didn't deserve it, but because you were an atheist all your life, believing that everything you preached was a lie.
And it turns out that it was true?? How curious.
but it didn't mean you wouldn't take advantage of your new playground.
With your natural charm, your unique and striking appearance (almost the same as you were when you were human) you were able to convince several low-ranking demons to trust you with their souls, rising in rank exponentially.
To make it easier for you, with your demon abilities you created a place similar to what your cult was like, there you could more easily control the people who gave you their souls.
In record time you became an Overlord. one quite well known but very mysterious. One that had a striking appearance and powers, but was rarely seen.
You could do anything you wanted in hell! which made the scope of your misdeeds increase exponentially, you couldn't be happier!
If we're talking about interacting with Hazbin Hotel's rl cast, of course you did! You were somewhat curious to know how Lucifer's daughter's attempt at humanitarian aid would fail. Also, bother Alastor? You are in!
Technically you already knew Alastor, you two died at similar times (you died before) and you saw how he rose very strongly among the Overlords, you liked him.
Unfortunately Alastor did not enjoy your company in the least, precisely because it made it very difficult for him to read you, either because of your lack of GENUINE emotion or because, like him, you used the trick of always having a smiling and pleasant facade.
Still, of course, he would rather be killed again than admit that.
But it was really a shame, he found some aspects of you pleasant.
For example, your taste in Canibal cuisine, Alasror recognized that you had good taste in that aspect.
Apart from that, you came from a VERY rich culture and spoke fluently in both English and Japanese, which was a great sight. Alastor normally wouldn't think that someone (at first glance) so airheaded would be able to speak a language like that so fluently.
but he is definitely something like your Akaza.
I mean, every time you push him out enough, Alastor will use Elrich magic on you and destroy you in the most grotesque ways possible.
That's until he realizes that you like it when he does that! That you make him hurt you on purpose because you're a masochistic son of a bitch!
The worst thing is that he doesn't realize this until Husk tells him...having already known you for years.
Speaking of, Husk doesn't trust you, not in the slightest.
he thinks you're a freak, a second Alastor but even worse, at least Alastor is honest about how horrible he is unlike you.
He serves you drinks when you ask, but if he can, he throws the glass directly in your eye or head, simply because he can. for your delight.
He is quicker to realize your intentions than the average person, and if he realizes that you want to turn one of the hotel members into your "dinner" he is drawing the cards SO FAST---
lots of offensive nicknames, to counteract the "affectionate" nicknames you give to people you know.
Don't touch it or ask it by surprise. Have you seen how cats do when they step on their tail? that's Husk when you surprise him.
Charlie...she's insecure about you.
and she feels BAD about it! She is supposed to be impartial and that everyone deserves a chance to change their ways! but you...well, it's you.
Charlie is not so naive, when more than one member of the Staff warns her that you are bad news, she is considerate of them and tries to make you leave, they have already had incidents with Overlords before, she wants to believe that you are different.
but it proves quite quickly that not when you show your more... somber side.
She tries to be cautious, failing miserably because she wants to know everything about you. You are someone very interesting!
Charlie definitely didn't have much of an idea who you were when she met you, your name did ring any bells, but she didn't think it was that important ---
until you casually blurted out the information that you had a fucking cult.
and that you eat demons.
FROM THE SAME FUCKING CULT YOU HAVE.
There Charlie decides to put into practice everything given in "setting boundaries" and tells you that although she likes how... you liven up the atmosphere of the hotel (and the air conditioning in some way) she DEFINITELY does not want to associate with you having Alastor.
if she KNOWS that you are trying to do something against the hotel or any of the staff members (especially Vaggie)...ohohoho buddy, prepare yourself for an ANGRY Charlie ready to show you WHO'S THE BOSS HERE.
(She definitely tries to get several members of your cult to go to the hotel with her to protect them from you).
You get on Vaggie's nerves. A Lot.
not only because you cool everything you touch, but because you are very similar to Alastor.
She knows you're hiding something, that you want something from them but she can't get it out of you easily, so she's content to just watch you from a distance and make sure you don't mess with anyone.
VERY PROTECTIVE WITH EVERYONE WHEN YOU ARE THERE, it increases the hotel's defenses by 130% and keeps you away from where others are.
You definitely like to annoy her by calling her names that are too friendly for your type of relationship or even using her as an armrest. In these types of cases you usually receive a few good punches in the ribs or a headbutt.
If you try to get too close, she applies the pilot's weapon to you, that is, she takes out her angelic spear and threatens you with a lot of violence. cursing you in Spanish in the process.
She's not as intimidated by you as she is by Alastor, but she definitely doesn't think you're safer for any reason.
less after finding out what you do with the people in your cult.
good luck keeping Vaggie from killing you!
Angel Dust is scared of you, like, really scared.
It's not because you're similar to Alastor, or because you're a Cannibal, or because you're a powerful Overlord. not at all.
It's because you are very similar to Valentino.
You pretend to be a good person, that you give a shit about what happens to the people at the hotel, but really no, it's all fake. REALLY fake.
you feel nothing.
and that terrifies him. He doesn't know how he acts around you. so Angel avoids you as much as he can, going near the fireplace since you don't like the heat, or near Husk.
he keeps making jokes at your expense, but it's really his way of handling the situation.
apart from the fact that Angel genuinely thinks you're pathetic, because you couldn't find any other way to enjoy your life and another life other than hurting people.
that's pathetic.
Yes, she won't let you be near the most vulnerable residents, like Niffty (when she's drunk) and she definitely won't let you be near Fatt Nuggets.
Try him and he will show you what he lived by while he was alive.
Niffty isn't scared of you in the slighleast.
In fact she is attracted to you on many levels, but Alastor will NEVER LET you be even a kilometer close to her in his presence.
In fact, there is a high possibility that you and her will secretly become friends, but Niffty better take care of herself around you.
She makes you use your ice powers so she can make things in the snow, snow angels, dolls, kill bugs with snow picks, etc.
she likes you and you like her :) surprisingly.
Sir Pentious is quite similar to Angel with you.
Sir Pentious is very aware of your reputation as a fearsome Overlord and definitely does not want to join the list of victims with his Eggboys, so he stays as far away from you as possible.
He has tried to make inventions resistant to your frozen currents, since it costs Charlie quite a few resources (because you don't pay a shit for what you break, you cheapskate) and certain artifacts that counteract your ice powers.
He brings several of his smoke machines to the hotel when he knows you're coming to visit (and if you come as a surprise, most likely everyone will hide in Pentious's warship because it's very hot in there.
Yes, he doesn't let his Ehgboys be near you in the slightest, he tells them horror stories with you like the big egg-eating monster.
and if you try something with his Minions PREPARE FOR THE DEATH RAY--
In general, you are a pain in the ass for everyone, everyone, always :)

I found it so absolutely crazy that the Mikaelsons (especially Klaus and Elijah) were constantly throwing Marcel’s background back in his face and just the fact that they lived in/on the same plantation that he was a slave on was absolutely wild. Marcel was so blatantly “othered” by the Mikaelsons, even though they said he was family, they always reminded him that he wasn’t ever one of them/a mikaelson and Klaus would always remind him that he was a slave before. Someone made the analogy that it’s like when a racist white family adopts a black child and make it clear that he’s not one of them and that’s quite LITERALLY what happened.
I would go as far as to say that Marbekah is not just weird because Rebekah knew him as a child, but also because of that strange power dynamic of her being a rich white woman and him being a black slave boy and that subtext there and it just doesn’t feel right (and this is a feeling I don’t get from normal interracial relationships, just THOSE TWO). And if you like Marbekah, that’s great! I just don’t lol.
And the fandom always says that “it’s just Klaus’ personality that he does and says these things to Marcel, etc” like… ugh.
And there’s other poc in TO that deal with the racism like Vincent and Inadu, etc
Tumblr media
I love the Mikaelsons but they were so problematic to the point that I have to retcon certain things or at least insert headcanons to make me not hate them. Because you are absolutely right. It was literally a racist family playing white savior. People try to give Klaus props for killing an enslaver and freeing Marcel, but we see him kill one enslaver and free one person who was enslaved. He didn't do it because he was morally opposed to slavery. He did it for his own selfish reasons. Otherwise we would have seen more of this. People using the excuse that "oh it's just x's character to make racists comments" is very telling. It means the character is racist. They are literally saying it is part of that character. The Mikaelsons thinking it was fine to live on an actual plantation both when it was functioning and after is proof of this.
I personally do like Marbekah but they are not necessarily in my top favorite ships. I love both of the characters but I also hate how they began (same with Freelin, but I'll go into that in a moment). But again, you're absolutely right. There is not only the inappropriate dynamic that she helped raise him, to some extent, but yes, that he grew up being treated as a second class citizen, not only when he was enslaved but also when he was taken in by the Mikaelsons. There is also the bad dynamic of how possessive Klaus is over Rebekah and her romantic life. People love to say Klaus daggered Rebekah when he found out about Rebekah and Marcel because he was protecting Marcel, but let's be honest, he wouldn't have cared if it was anyone else but Rebekah. Klaus didn't have any issues going after teenagers, why would he care that Marcel was being groomed by an older woman? Klaus always treated Marcel as more of a friend than a son and we all know Klaus is not a good friend. I, once again, have to insert my own headcanon that Rebekah was not heavily invovled in Marcel's upbringing. I pretend Klaus was just as possessive of Marcel with Rebekah as he was with Elijah. We only see the one scene of Rebekah training him so I just pretend that was a one time thing and they hardly interacted outside of that. This not at all what the writers intended. They loved creepy, grooming relationships so it is completely understandable to not like them.
Marcel was treated as more of a possession than anything. I'm biased so I like to believe Elijah saw Marcel as a child at first and wanted to mentor him before Klaus got in the way. You mention Elijah throwing Marcel's history in his face, do you have an example? I am genuinely asking. I've seen people make this comment before and make comments of Elijah calling him "boy" but I for the life of me can't remember when he does, because yes, that is obviously racist. I am trying to think past my Elijah blinders, but welcome any help. Elijah is definitely condescending to him and it would be foolish of me to assume part of it isn't racism. Again, I insert my own headcanon that it is more to do with his elitism and how he speaks to everyone (i.e. the scene where he calls Klaus and Hayley "chiiillldddreeen" for bickering). But I also acknowledge that my headcanons are my own and we still need to call out the characters for their problematic behavior. The fact that Elijah doesn't lift a finger to help a single person who is being enslaved or to even condemn the slavery when he very much had the power and privilege to do something about it shows his racism, if not overt racism than at the very least covert.
I personally headcanon that Celeste set Elijah straight while they were together and got him more invovled in the abolitionist movements, because I refuse to believe Celeste was fine being with a man who was fine with slavery. I also love Elijah and refuse to love a racist so I have to insert my own head canons to fix the racist writing. I would also be remiss to point out how problematic it is that Elijah is constantly given partners who are women of color but the show only emphasizes his white counterparts. There is more love for Eelijah, a crack ship, in the fandom than Celijah, one of the two people Elijah loved by his own admission. I love haylijah, but how the women of color he dated were treated by his family, the writers, and his family, even by him, speaks volumes to their racism.
But back to Marcel. It would have made sense for Rebekah to be a mother figure to him since she is always talking about wanting kids, but the show makes it clear that there is a distinction between biological children and adopted. Here the Mikaelsons have a chance to be parents and they all squander it. It's hard to not talk about Marcel's race in that discussion. Rebekah loves her time taking care of Hope, who, while her blood, is still not her biological daughter. Why wouldn't she jump at the chance to raise a frightened boy who lost his mother at such a young age? Why wasn't he given a mother figure? Hope has like five. Marcel isn't even given a father figure. Again, Hope has like five. Because Marcel was never viewed as a child. This is a common trope where black characters, especially boys, are not seen as kids. Rather they are forced to be more mature and treated as adults, while their white counter parts are allowed immaturity. Marcel was never allowed to be a kid because the Mikaelsons didn't want a kid. They all had their own selfish desires for Marcel and they were all terrible.
I do think the Mikaelsons are also just a toxic, dysfunctional family. Literally none of them treat the others well. I love certain relationships over others, but it would be lying to say they weren't all toxic to each other. So it's no wonder all of their relationships with Marcel were toxic. Klaus undaggers Kol and instead of being angry at Klaus for keeping him in a box, he turns his anger and frustration on a literal child. You would think this resentment would fade when Kol starts dating his nephew's daughter (sorry, couldn't help myself), but it doesn't. Marcel and Kol still harbor so much animosity for each other and Kol's is merely based on Marcel being more included in the family, which is sad considering how little Marcel is included in the family. But even that extent was too much for Kol.
The writers had a fresh slate with The Originals. There was no book to attempt to follow or even to dictate character relationships. They could have done anything with Marcel, but they chose to make a black slave from the 1800s that Klaus "saved" in order to play into the idea that Klaus was a good guy underneath it all. So instead of focusing on Marcel's trauma, the story is told through the Mikaelson's perspective, the white perspective. It reminds me of so many movies, The Blind Side comes to mind. Media loves to focus on the white saviors and praise them without mentioning the trauma they actually caused while playing savior. In these stories, the white families aren't adopting a "child" they are "investing" in what that child can do for them.
I mentioned Freelin earlier and I don't think it is a coincidence that the only two instances where a white Mikaelson's endgame invovled a person of color there is a massive power imbalance. I want to love Freelin so much because I like both the characters but I struggle to get past how they met and how quickly it changed. Freya never even felt guilty or apologized for literally kidnapping and torturing her. The show loves to match up characters, especially women and especially woman of color, with their abusers with no repercussions to the abuse.
I could write forever about the blatant racism in this show.
Thanks for the ask! I hope I answered everything. As always, please let me know what you think or if you disagree with anything I said.

ACE
Yandere male x F! Autistic! Reader
Tumblr media
TW: taking advantage of nievety and loneliness, murder, family disfunction, people around you believing an abuser over you, rich people, sociopathic and narcissistic behavior, pretending to be someone's friend, taking advantage of the systems you were born into, gut feelings, non-con touching, boners, self isolation due to an abuser, abuser coming back into your life forcibly, manipulation of friends and family, General manipulation, predatory behavior, and break-ins.
General information
Born the middle brother to a family worth millions, having the face if a model, and standing at a good 6'8, Ace is more than savvy in the ways of interpersonal relations.
(He's socially gifted)
Does he actually like any of the people he surrounds himself with? It's up for debate, but ask any of them and he's the best guy you'll ever have the privilege of meeting.
His home life is and was…complicated.
His mother was sweet as pie, if not a bit ditzy, but that's exactly how his father liked it. She was his sweet little trophy wife, content to spend his money and occasionally watch the boys while not asking too much else of him.
His father was near the opposite.
Charming and easygoing to all who met him, Ace's father behind closed doors was a different story.
The man ruled their household with a cold and uncaring grip, but took Ace especially under his wing.
He taught his middle child how to talk his way out of any situation, to carry himself in a way that made people comfortable.
That was, until he got sick
During the final months of his life and when Ace had turned sixteen, Mr. Landry took only his middle son on a hunting trip into the mountains (on their private land of course)
It all seemed normal to a young Ace, boring even, but he withstood it as always.
Until the last day, when his father ushered him further into the brush, the boy commenting that they were getting close to another family's range when the older man hoisted his rifle, seeming to lock onto his target with a steely precision Ace had never seen.
When the shot fired, he heard the thump that was usual for a fallen deer, but something was… different.
Pushing back the brush, he was stunned to see a man lying face down in the foliage, completely still.
He looked back to his father, who gave him the most honest smile he had ever seen on the old man.
Nothing ever came of it, nobody ever came forward about it, nobody seemed to care what his father had done.
It had been his final lesson, one that Ace took in stride
Only weeks later, after their father's passing, the eldest, Sam, became the head of the house, their mother too distraught over the loss of her the man her life had revolved around for years to do anything but dote on her sons in the way she had been taught
Ace didn't mind too much, he focussed on school and his "friends" until the time he went off to college, finding that much more his speed
College fraternity was a popularity contest, one that he won with close to no effort.
A couple of years into college, he took an interest in nascar
He had always had an interest in sports cars, his first car had been a Porsche 911, and he had recently taken to drag racing his friends, so it was a sort of natural progression.
It was casual at first, but over time and with much enthusiastic encouragement from his buddies, he really started to consider it as a career.
Some expensive schooling and a few entry level races later, he had finally gotten scouted.
After his first discovery, the mix of his seemingly magnetic personality and genuine talent won him sponsor after sponsor until he was racing on live television.
Romantic headcannons + snippet
When Ace met you, he definitely didn't know what to make of you.
Your eye contact was measured, as if you were counting when to look away and look back. You were pretty, of course, but had some of the strangest interests. And strangest of all, you didn't seem to want anything from him.
Or even really want to be around him.
You didn't look to be uncomfortable with him, but you also didn't go out of your way to find where he was or seek him out to talk again like many of his acquaintances did.
Everyone he's ever known has wanted something from him, so what makes you so special?
It eats at him to the point he starts seeking you out, eventually befriending you through faking interest in your hobbies and just being his usual charming self.
He ensures that everyone around you loves him too, sweet talking his way into the hearts of your parents, friends, and even coworkers
He's sure that if he digs enough, he'll find exactly what your after
He asks probing questions that are made to sound casual, but they still strike you as strange.
"Have you ever had a boyfriend?"
"Why do you like (insert interest)?"
"What do you think is my best feature?"
You answer as you usually would, straightforwardly, but at the same time, it almost puts you on edge the way he asks these seemingly innocent questions.
Looking deep into your eyes, a good distance away but so intimately it feels like he's too close for comfort.
You like Ace, you're thankful for such a good friend, but he makes you… nervous.
He doesn't even notice as he begins to lose interest in studying you, as he starts to actually listen to your ramblings, as he starts to become touchier with you, starts to move closer every time you're together.
He can reconcile his attraction to you. Again, you're pretty enough, with an above average body, lovely hair, pretty expressive eyes, kissable lips… nice grabbable hips-
Anyways
He goes for it, one day, putting a hand on your thigh while he's driving the two of you somewhere, pulling over and going in for a kiss and expecting you to lean into him
But you don't
Instead, you pull your leg away quickly, panicked when you see him coming closer
You are attracted to him, somewhat, but this feels… off.
Confused, he tries again, but this time you push him away, telling him to stop, you don't want to.
He laughs it off at the time, apologizing, but inside he's fuming.
Do you know how rare it is that he go after someone?! And you just threw it back in his face with that stupid adorable pout he's found himself thinking about more and more.
He'll have you. He'll have you running back to him.
It takes you a while to warm up to him again, but he's persistent and measured with his attempts to reconnect once he's gathered himself.
Soon, you're back to hanging out on a regular basis
But he's different.
He's still as physically affectionate as ever, but his touches are lingering, like he's trying to get the most out of each passing gesture that he possibly can. He's taken to pulling you onto his lap, pretending not to notice when you try to get up, panicked when you feel him… pressing into you.
He really doesn't seem to like your other friends, he just ignored them before, but now he actively talks down on them, scowling when you bring them up in conversation
And most of all, he stares. Openly. You can always catch him out of the corner of your eye, just gazing at you in a way that makes you feel like you're on the menu.
You try not to notice, Ace is the first friend in a long time that has wanted to spend this much time with you and you do genuinely care for him, but every time he comes around you start to feel sick to your stomach.
No one around you will hear it when you come to them with your plight
"You should feel lucky to have a man like that in your life! If he were my friend I would show some appreciation!"
"Oh, honey, I dont think it's anything like that, I know Ace, he's a good man."
"Have you considered that he might like you? He's a good man, I know you're a little awkward around dating but you should really give him a chance!"
You're so fucking tired of hearing how good a man Ace is.
You try to distance yourself, not replying to his texts or phone calls, especially not the ones offering to hang out.
You hope he'll get busy with work, get a girlfriend, a pet, anything that will keep him and that sick feeling he brings with him away from you.
He reaches out to the people surrounding you for support and you're bombarded with angry and concerned messages from the people you thought you could trust to be on your side.
So you ignore them too, completely isolating yourself
It works, and you almost feel peace for the first time in months, turning off the TV every time he comes on promoting something and reflecting back on how unhealthy the friendship was. It works for a month.
A month of no connection outside of work. No friends. Nothing outside of going to work, coming home, and going out alone.
Until, on one chilly autumn afternoon, he shows up in front of your apartment.
You called your land lady, frantically asking how he could have gotten past the doors to the complex without a key, heart dropping when she answered sunnily how he had explained that he was your boyfriend, how you had been isolating yourself recently and how he was there to check up on you.
You tried to explain, ignoring his demands to be let in and the banging from the other side of the door, that he was not your boyfriend and that you didn't want him anywhere near you, but she stopped you,
"Your boyfriend really cares about you, miss (l/n). Self isolating won't fix whatever you're going through. It's obvious he wants to help you, you're lucky he's such a good man."
You hung up, dropping your phone on the carpet as he finally got through, walking in with a couple of your concerned neighbors crowded in the doorway.
He looked down at you, giving you a positively chilling smile, "Sweetheart, I'm so glad you're okay, you had us all so worried!"
He embraced you tightly before you could back away, too tightly. He was angry, but he couldn't show that in front of them. You broke down into sobs, burying your face in the rough material of his jacket, and his grip loosened ever so slightly.
"There we go." He grumbled, sounding almost relieved as a chorus of 'Aww's and happy sighs sounded from the crowd, "There's a good girl."
You found yourself hugging him back, seeking any sort of comfort as he stroked your hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
He turned slightly, not letting go of you, "We're all good here folks, thanks for your help, again."
There was some light chatter before they moved on, going back to their apartments.
Ace took your face in his hands firmly, fixing you with a stern expression, "Now, was all that really necessary?"
You shook your head, empty.
He'd done it, he'd broken you.
And you had helped him.
You had pushed everyone else out of your life in fear of him and now the comfort and familiarity of his touch seemed like the only thing that could save you.
"You can have it all back." He whispered, face coming closer to yours, "Your family, your friends, your life,"
He smiled, the most genuinely you had ever seen him, "And me."
You hesitated, but nodded slightly, squeaking when he pressed his lips to yours in what felt like a split second, deepening the kiss almost instantly and sending both a pang of fear and a bolt of arousal down your spine at the same time.
To your surprise, after a minute, he pulled away.
"That can wait, honey. It's time to bring you home, now." He chuckled, hoisting you up into his arms.
You watched from the passenger door as your home got smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror, something in you finally giving up and withering away as you slumped against the expensive leather seat.
He reached over, placing a familiar hand on your thigh, a grin tugging at his handsome features when you made no effort to move away from his touch.
"I love you, (Y/n)."
And with a nauseous ache taking hold in your stomach, you knew he meant it.

We need to get our don back on. wheres the dontent. He deserves it. Where are the family headcanons, the don and chris being exes, the daddon, the don-dynamics, the doneley drama. we need it all.
In the words of FreshTV, "women want him, men want to be him, and almost certainly vice-versa". Not only is he "a paragon of physical challenges" and "a master of trivia" (as Fresh describes in the same blogpost), he is the core of the spin-off that almost towers over the original 5 seasons in terms of quality, even if none of you are ready to believe it yet. For what he is and how greatly he hosts tdrr, he is underappreciated and I will stand by that . He is funny and a little fail and everything you could ever wish for in a normal dudehost. We need to get our Don on.
We need to untap how he thinks crimsennui are genuinely creepy as shit. His ugly dad-fit. His quips at the ice dancers. His emotional side (see chilly billy). His everything. His attempts at staying "non-partisan". The potential of the crack-dynamics. Don as a character deserves more from us fans. That's all .
To be the change I want to see in the world.. I think Don is 43 years old and a single father. I think he has history with Chris and Blaineley, in some strange way. The hosts naturally just hook up and beef with eachother, I think. I really think Don is so normal. Kind of just a normal dude who happens to be rich and smart and athletic and emotional. After playing wordle, if he remembers to, he searches up the word and adds it to his vocabulary. When he sees a sandcastle at the beach, he'll talk to the kid who made it and make up a name for it with them, only for the structure to be blown away or stepped on. Like with Chilly Billy, he cries a little every single time. If the kid's crying over it, he'd try to console them with his own tears slipping through. Key word: try (they both end up bawling, somehow). Everytime he sees a teenager that's wearing anything remotely alt on a swing, he looks away out of fear they'll turn him into a loon or something. He cheats on his daily crosswords under the guise of learning more about the topics they entail. He "keeps forgetting" to buy himself reading glasses.
Okay, I think you guys get it. get your don on... for me

Ace Attorney characters that I think are related
In addition to my “ Godot is Manfred’s other child” agenda.
Richard Wellington and Frank Sawhit:
My favorite pack of thieves. I like to think Frank was stealing in order to earn enough for him and his son to survive. And then Richard was trying to get enough money to bail his father out of prison but once learning who the defense attorney would be for Maggey decided to try to avenge his father. I want them to have a tearful reunion in prison and then escape together to rob more rich people <3.
Furio Tigre and Wocky Kitaki:
Have you seen the last names?!! In all seriousness I think them being related would make the overall crime scene more fleshed out and make its story more cohesive. The Cadaverni rage wouldn’t be over a member getting in an accident with just some thug, but a member of a mob, a rival to power in “Los Angeles”. Though I don’t think Tigre would be considered a legitimate member of the family by the Kitaki line themselves, I think Wocky would look up to Furio as an older brother figure and base his persona around him. Wocky’s aggression to Phoenix is less funny now though.
Polly Jenkins and Goldy Gerwitz:
Imagine the only person who ever cared for you took their own life and you lost everything and now all you have left to turn to is material items. But then coincidentally you come across those who indirectly lead to her suicide but you are too scared do anything and you regret for the rest of your life for your inaction. Just fun with the bois over here.
Herman Crab and Larry:
A STEM and artist duo returns, this time as brothers! It’s the most romance repulsed aromantic against the world’s strongest romanticist ( but Larry is also aro spec, I can feel it in bones). Neither of them can ever have a normal last name and Larry only took his mother’s in order to avoid people making jokes about him having crabs (* cries in the pain of bad nicknames*). In all seriousness , both Larry and Herman are incredibly talented, noble people who will ride and die for those they care about. While Herman would be annoyed by his much younger brother’s antics, he’d still genuinely care for and look out for him. And Larry naturally would be down to help his older brother with any of his schemes.
Simon Blackquill and Daryan:
My favorite black and white animal themed mysterious, dramatic men. I think them being related would tie the Apollo Justice series' events and characters more closely together and give much needed characterization to Daryan ( yet one of many aspects of wasted potential in the Apollo Justice series). Daryan becoming a detective because he doesn't believe Simon could do such heinous acts in a mirror to Klavier and Athena, him trying to gain whatever influence and power and wealth he can which could potentially aid his family. Daryan agreeing to smuggle the cocoons both because he genuinely wants to save people like Simon did, laws be damned, but because being in the good graces of such a high ranking official, in addition to the large sums of money he'd gain in return, could be what saves his relative. The reveal of this plan would hold so much more immediate consequences and affect a wider reach of characters. And Simon, trying so hard to help and protect all those he cares about all on his own, with Daryan being a reminder how damaging that mentality can be and that no matter how hard the both of them try they can't save everyone!!!!
Also yes, Daryan keeps the hair for Simon's sake, who styled it that way as a prank.
Tyrell Badd and Luke Atmey:
Luke wanting nothing else than to be just like his cool, smart, popular father but feeling like he can't properly emulate him on his own, so he lies and cheats to attempt to do so in turn becoming everything his father is against and hates.
Also Luke feeling like his father prefers Kay over him BYE-
Payne and Geiru:
Imagine following in your ancestors' footsteps to join the law system in order to bring ‘pain’ upon evil doers but one of your family members decides to fuck that and runs off to become a rakugo artist of all things. And then you find out years later that they had a child who committed murder in their name and you didn't even get to come across her in court. Poor Payne can't ever catch a break.
Ron and Joe Darke:
The worst father and son duo who commit crimes and escalate situations because they have terrible problem solving skills yet despite that cannot be convicted for the life of them, the former only happening with false evidence. But the main reason I like this idea is because it means Ron took his wife's last name "DeLite" since she is the light of his life and now he isn't in the 'dark' anymore.
Boo all you want.
Jinxie Tenma and Uendo Toneido:
Two of the best ( and underrated) Ace Attorney characters in addition to being great mental health representation! I think they'd have great chemistry and interactions as siblings. Also Uendo deserves a wrestler father who can beat shit out of ableist fucks and law enforcement. <3
Gumshoe and Dogen:
Such a slut for the idea of Gumshoe wanting to tear himself away from the family name and to do good by saving lives instead of ending them yet working in an incredibly deadly, corrupt system that goes against his ideals and desires.
Also Dick's still definitely hurt that Dogen seems to care more about Simon Keyes than him >:)
Constance Courte and Sebastian:
" Uh, if Constance Courte was Sebastian's mom, wouldn't Blaise had make her disappear-"
Bitch, he tried. That loser husband had to back down.
Unfortunately, Constance wasn't able to take her son with her and decided to throw herself even more into her teaching of law, her indirect way of fighting her husband and preventing people from becoming like him. I like to think she got to reunite with her son again after Blaise was finally arrested and Sebastian continued his prosecuting career in her honor.
Anyway Constance Courte is cool and deserved more screentime ( and to be written into a better case lmao).
Cody Hackins and the Fey clan:
I just want more perspective on the Fey family from those AMAB, I can't believe the main AA trilogy went into Kurain Village and the Fey Clan and didn't expand on this. Anyway, Cody's lack of spiritual power, supposedly due to his sex, in addition to losing his mother led to him and his father being discarded from the main clan and looked down upon. Refusing to accept the position of a branch family given to him, Cody's father took the two of them away from the village. While initially having trouble adjusting to such a drastic change in lifestyle and environment, the two of them were overall happier. Cody still faintly remembers Mia and Maya as some of the few people in the village that were kind to him and is unable to accept Mia's death, believing she and Maya "fused powers" and simply cohabit a body now. On a happier note, Steel Samurai is both Cody and his father's comfort show and they and the Fey Sisters ( and eventually Pearl) watch it together.
The Von Karma and the Justice family:
Okay, with names like those, centered around concepts considered essential to the judicial system, they have be to be connected somehow in this series. Whether they're distantly related or rival families or what, both family lines and their influences absolutely permeate the series.
Also 100% the reason Kristoph took Apollo in as his mentee was to spite the Von Karmas.
Lauren Paups and Matt Engarde:
Polar opposite (half) siblings: Lauren is shy while Matt is outgoing, Lauren has low self esteem while Matt thinks highly of himself, Lauren’s a dreamer and romanticist while Matt’s cruelly aware of how the world works, Lauren’s wishy washy and easily swayed while Matt’s is rooted in his ideas and beliefs, Lauren can’t hide feelings or thoughts while Matt constantly wears a mask, yet their most prominent trait, the one that they share, is that they’ll do anything for who or what they believe in. Also they both share self destructive tendencies when seemingly stressed (Matt scratching and Lauren cutting up pieces of their hair) in addition to being heavily dramatic. Unfortunately, I don’t think they ever got the chance to properly know each other but nonetheless the duo would be close ( as much as they’re allowed to be anyway).
Tumblr media
Also this beta design for Lauren is Matt Pre- T and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Give me your relationship hcs, I love to hear the brainworms from other people and have them play with my maggots <3

Simon and middle grounds...
Unpacking what Simon calling Baz a creep could mean got me thinking into how much of CO “post-kissing Baz” (and even during) puts Simon into this sort of middle place, where he can’t fully let go of the assumptions and narratives that shaped almost half his life, but he can no longer deny himself what he feels for Baz. When Simon is calling Baz a creep in his own house or something like that and in his head he’s like “I used to mean that but he’s the most familiar thing here and I sleep better listening to him breathing” he’s in a middle ground. Not fully letting go of that nasty little impulse to be antagonistic (and frame Baz in an antagonist light, or at least try to) but also communicating that Baz is home. “He’s a creep and his presence soothes my heart and soul, clearly I hate him.” Ah, Simon.
His “I’m not even remotely ready to think about me being gay” would naturally extend to “I’m not ready to admit I dated a girl I have no feelings for and unpack what would that mean.” So when he can no longer deny that he felt jealous because of Baz in the woods, he completely avoids thinking about Agatha and settles for “I was jealous over both, I guess.”  (“I guess” “I suppose” is a Simon who’s not at all giving you his true feelings) (I have said it many times: Simon’s romantic jealousy is only about Baz – he has such a strong reaction at the idea of Baz being with someone else – his deal with Agatha is different. He’s not ever concerned about her love life! And he already indirectly admits in WS he was neither in love nor attracted to her when goes “Baz is the only I ever wanted and loved like this” in the context of thinking about romance and sex).
There’s also Simon being like “he’s not a villain, he’s just a bully” – he’s taking an elevated idea of bad, as in actual evil, and grounding it into a normal level of bad (he’s just a boy) because he’s not ready to admit the narrative he asigned to Baz is 100% wrong... What I just said was pointed out to me by someone else, in one of my first posts in this fandom “the boy has a degree in assholery but I know we don’t genuinely believe Baz was an actual bully. What are we even doing here.” The essence of what I said iirc is that Simon is full of shit and we can’t really think he was a poor helpless victim and Baz his biggest tormentor based on what he says/how he frames their interactions, the Cinderella to Baz’s wicked step-sister ways, or that their dynamic was bully-victim. The point is that they were equals. They went out of their ways to be equals (reflected in Simon thinking of this period of their lives as him being Baz’s match!). I’m remembering that someone wanted to counter this with “the power dynamics of Baz being from a powerful and rich family vs Simon being a poor orphan” which got me thinking...
Simon, Baz and location...
I don’t think that power dynamic really applies inside the bubble of Watford (which is a hell of a bubble). I mean, what the fuck is Baz’s money doing for him there? What does being a part of an old powerful family do for their offspring in the mage’s school other than potentially turning some kids into annoying posh brats during those first couple of years? Other than putting them in disadvantage while in the mage’s school, rather than in a privileged position, when the war gets serious? (Penny talks about boys being taken out of the school as a sign of “shit is about to hit the fan”). Maybe I’m overlooking something, I don’t know. I just don’t see how Baz’s family and money do much (beyond making Simon feel less sophisticated and educated) to alter their dynamic in a way that makes Simon an actual victim/target. Especially given that Simon is the protégé of the guy running the school... (If the mage was a different kind of fucker and didn’t have “endangering Simon” as a hobby, one might wonder whether the mage’s heir wouldn’t have more “power” than the children of disgraced families while in the mage’s school... but that’s a moot point) (and Baz’s “powerful family” is literally just Fiona and Malcolm. Just Fiona if you only think about Pitches by blood. What the fuck kind of influence do they have over that school when Baz is a student? Fiona’s plots include leaving actual shit on the mage’s bed. They’re deeply unserious people!). Hell, one even has to note that Baz being from The Powerful Pitches does jackshit for him in the mage’s school outside of painting a huge target on him whenever the mage remembers who is his mother. It’s a disadvantage for him, one might even say.
I’m saying all of this because my point is: while in the bubble of Watford, there are many forces driving them to fight each other, building walls between them, giving them tools of perhaps equal destructive force, but they go out of their way (Simon never turns his crazy magic on Baz, Baz never pushes Simon harder than Simon can push back) to stay equal, to be two boys beefing rather than victim vs tormentor (they both break each other’s noses). Baz can be a huge asshole; so can Simon. Baz can be cruel; holy shit, so can Simon!.... Which got me thinking about location beyond Watford.
Baz and Simon don’t ever meet outside of bubble Watford, where the mentioned power dynamic would matter, when they’re “enemies.” That only happens when they have a truce. Simon doesn’t show up in Baz’s house until he feels that Baz and he are on the same side (when he doesn’t think but might feel, even subsconciously, that Baz would shield him from his family... he spends most of his visit in Baz’s bedroom) He’s side-eyed and there’s tension, but he’s relatively fine in that house because he comes as Baz’s visit (until he blows it all up).
This also makes me think how, when Simon and Baz are together, but not living together, Baz spends most of the time in Simon’s flat. Baz goes to Simon’s “turf” – Simon isn’t “exposed to those dynamics” then, either (nor is Baz living in the place that was once associated with that anymore).
When Baz and Simon start living together, money or those type of dynamics aren’t a problem, either. They’re beautifully using the money of the dead man responsible for so much of the bad things that happened to them to fund their homosexual bliss. I mean, said man would certainly have a problem with that, but the bitch is dead. Who cares. And by the time Simon visits Baz’s family again, we know he too has a rich family (and a haven in Ruth’s home) so none of that is a concern then, either.

saw ur post about Danny from escape room and omg agreed I need more people to talk about him with he's so underrated
NO LIKE ACTUALLY THOUGH!!!!
I genuinely love him, he's so harmless and genuinely excited to be there, it's like textbook-first-death-you-care-about-to-get-you-invested, but I think it would be fascinating to see how the story would progress if he had lived longer. He doesn't get much of a chance to realize this isn't just a super fucking good escape room and I'd love to see how he'd react to another person's death, or the more morally-questionable puzzles.
Would he step up to the plate in a Zoe sort of way? I feel like theres even a possibility he'd cling to the concept of it just being a normal escape room for WAY longer than he should as a way to cope with all the fucked up shit happening.
Because if you think about it even his personal tragedy/survival event (while also being SO FUCKING SAD OHHH MY GOD??? how old was he??? was he a kid??? when did this happen?? if someone remembers if it's says how long ago HIS ENTIRE FAMILY DIED let me know) is incredibly passive.
He definitely saw his family post-death but unlike a plane crash or a mine cave or any of the other tragedies in he has never actually seen anyone else in the process of dying, and I think that would be SO interesting to explore.
Like is that why he likes escape rooms so much? Because it's a way to solve 'impossible' puzzles and clever-your-way out of problems in a way he never got a chance to because he was probably asleep when it happened?
(I also wish we got a slightly closer look at how Ben feels about his death. Because it's really no one but Minos' fault but if the blame had to be pointed to another player it's on him. And he's already got a complex about that shit. Danny is a significantly more sympathetic/guilt complex kind of murder than Jason.)
He's just SO interesting as a character, especially because his death is the only non-preventable one. Theres no way to out-think being dragged under ice in a freezing current. I know the whole game is about luck but it's entirely unfair in a way that I can't even imagine would be particularly entertaining for the people watching at home and I WANNA KNOW WHY! Was he always going to die first? Did they underestimate how good at escape rooms he was? Was it a shock value death to keep all the rich viewers who bet on the safest-winner invested? Was it just because he brought a phone when he wasn't supposed to?
Like (second movie spoilers) but especially with the Amanda reveal in the second movie I'm shocked more people aren't talking about the possibility that he's not actually dead at all!
Because why would Minos kill him? If they want to force people to make escape rooms for them wouldn't Danny be their first choice? He's smart, he loves escape rooms, it would be perfect!
The only real explanation is just that it has to do with personalities and who would be most likely to actually go along with them, but we don't know nearly enough about Danny to think that he wouldn't.
Like?? He kind of seems like the easiest of the first movies cast to manipulate in this situation!! He's the youngest, he's naive, and I don't think he's got the kind of Zoe-backbone that would rather die then spend his time building escape rooms which is what he's passionate about.
If I'm being entirely honest I am not going to believe anyone is dead unless we see the body.
Like, in the first movie who are the only two we don't see the actual body of?
Amanda and Danny.
Amanda is clearly a good person to have on your evil-escape-room-murder-game team as it's shown in the sequel, and like I said DANNY KAHN IS LITERALLY THE PERFECT PERSON TO HAVE ON YOUR TEAM. WHY WOULDN'T THEY KEEP HIM IN THEIR BACK POCKET?
((It also makes sense with the sequel, where we don't see a lot of the bodies. The ONLY person's body we actually see is Theo; Nathan falls into the sand, so does Ben, and we know how that worked out. We kind of hear Brianna and Rachel but we don't SEE them. And the might mean nothing, but if you think about it- it tracks, in a tournament of champions, best of the best, you'd want to hold on to as many as you can.))
I'm veryyyy interested to see if this comes up in the next one, I honestly do not think it will, but I definitely think it's a plot line that could be INCREDIBLY interesting to go down.

CASA TIDMOUTH’S MOST NORMAL AND RELIABLE RAILWAY WORKERS: THE NEWBIES OF ACT 2
Rebecca Nassif
Age: 23 Occupation: NWR 22's driver
A bright and optimistic newcomer to Sodor’s railways, Rebecca is the trainee for the express that Gordon took under his wing. She always sees the bright sides of things and firmly believes that there’s always a way out in every situation… which makes her prone to accidents due to how she is quick to act and late to see both sides of things. She’s also very clueless to Sodor’s cultural quirks and supernatural occurrences which always makes her seniors worry, while she can only giggle and say “Oops!” whenever confronted about it.
Underneath her cheerful demeanor, Rebecca can’t exactly understand the circumstances others went through or relate to them, and she secretly always felt bad about it. Yet due to her upbringing, she can’t help but feel like other’s feelings and worries are her responsibilities, making her fear that she could possibly strain her relationships every time she failed to understand them. Could this be the reason that she always try her best to make others smile…?
Trivia:
Her family runs a small catering service. The wave of gentrification in her hometown that eventually impacted their business is what made her decide to take action and support her family despite her parents’ discouragement.
Rebecca’s father wanted her to settle down with someone well off and live a peaceful life, not having to worry about her family. Even though she loves her father dearly and is usually obedient, she went against his words and moved to Sodor the moment she heard that the railways there are in desperate need of new workers hiring. She had no idea what she signed up for.
She has a calico cat named Eli.
She strongly sees her dad in Gordon. She also calls him “Coach”, something that he doesn’t mind. Her jokes and wisecracks always make him stifle his laughter.
The sheer willpower and unparalleled determination of Sudrians always hype her up. When asked about a word she can use to describe her Sudrian colleagues, she replied with “hardcore”.
Likes: her parents’ cooking, pistachio kulfi, orange-flavored gum, ridiculous meathead animes like Dragon Ball
Dislikes: overly complicated pieces of literature, rich people that can’t appreciate culinary arts
Tumblr media
Nia Eunike Wanjala
Age: 24 Occupation: NWR 18's driver
Even though she’s generally friendly and cordial to her peers, Nia can be described as an extremely honest individual. She’s not sarcastic, she’s not being rude, just really honest and straight-to-the-point. This stems from her mindset to expect the worst in any situation in order to not disappoint herself with any bad outcome that might happen. Nia also loathes being pitied and automatically assumes that people feel sorry for her whenever they show even a semblance of kindness or worry to her. This becomes a problem to her as she wanted to show genuine care and appreciation for her peers yet couldn’t bring herself to trust them, thus making others think of her as distant even though she didn’t mean to.
Under her bluntness, she’s actually quite understanding of other’s troubles and always gives out rational advice (though she also points out what they need to fix and generally not biased). Even so, she wants to trust others and longs for strong bonds with the people she care about, but her skepticism prevented her from doing so. She kept rocking back and forth between catering to others’ needs and wanting to do the things she personally wants to do. At the end of the day, she just wishes someone could at least see the good intentions that she showed through her actions.
Trivia:
She tries her best to respect Thomas – younger yet much more experienced than her – and James – still proud but now much wiser – because they’re her seniors, but she always felt exasperated at their clowneries. The thing that always surprised her is that despite all their tomfooleries, they somehow always got their jobs done.
She moved to Sodor after a chain of events that started off from a particular flood that washed over her small hometown and destroyed her childhood home. She hopped from job to job and city to city to support her family, but after many trials and tribulations, she found a newspaper that mentioned something about Sodor in desperate need of new workers hiring railway workers.
Unlike her fellow newbie, she quickly catches on to the small island’s mysteries because she already counted the risks it has to offer… and she knows this won’t get easy for her.
She actually gets flustered easily, especially when showing genuine appreciation (that isn’t part of her “obligation”).
Whenever she gets nervous or is panicking, she starts counting prime numbers.
She’s interested in magic tricks. When she was a kid, a lot of kids like to watch her perform simple magic tricks. In actuality, she’s mainly interested in the science and mechanics behind them. She also thinks it’s quite a good way to kickstart a friendship.
The sheer willpower and unparalleled determination of Sudrians sometimes scare her. When asked about a word she can use to describe her Sudrian colleagues, she replied with “weird”.
Likes: the Gatsby sandwich, magic tricks (her go-to is the infinite handkerchief trick), dandelions Dislikes: heavy rain, dishonesty, people that hide secrets for the sake of others

I had to watch the episode in short bursts, because people kept needing me for things.
I’m gonna ramble about everything that happened for each character but first I just want to say that I loved hearing more of Tricia’s singing voice this episode, she has been underutilized so far.
-Susan
At the beginning of the show, Susan was very quickly cast as the pretty but mean popular girl jealous that her ex-boyfriend moved on. Then slowly, they did this thing that I REALLY love, where they gave her more depth, more complexity, and more dimension. They have shown us perfect Susan who works hard to maintain the status quo and please her mother (who is encouraging unhealthy relationships with food and slutshaming her daughter, seriously Mrs. St Clair can suck a rock). And now they’ve shown us another level to Susan, acknowledging that rich white families will ALWAYS do whatever it takes to protect their reputations. Her mother holds this over her head, but it was clearly a very traumatic, very difficult thing for her to do in secret without the support of anyone. Sure her parents made it so that she could get the abortion, but based on how we’ve seen her mother treat her, we know Susan doesn’t get any real support and it makes her actions that much more heartbreaking. When she tries to stand up to her mother, and Olivia (who is neither right nor wrong in her reactions) doesn’t want to believe she’s changed, you can see that she accepts that. It isn’t until Olivia is a steps a little too over the line that she reveals the truth about what she witnessed. Susan is 16-17 and she’s hurt and she’s scared and she’s sad and I love her.
-Dot
I don’t have much to say on her, except that she really is a sweetheart who deserves better friends. Honestly, sometimes a pity date with the bad boy of the school is way better than sitting there alone while your friends all have dates. She’s so cute. Her poor nose and eye :(
-Hazel & Wally
Doing them together because they were together in all of their scenes. Hazel was giving Cinderella vibes. I appreciate the fact that while Wally doesn’t understand some of her Hazel-ness, he really seems genuinely interested in learning about her interests and getting her to at least attempt to enjoy his too. I loved their duet. I love that during the utter chaos that was the rest of the episode, they got to be in their little bubble where everyone pointed out that they are seemingly perfect for one another. I don’t normally trust media when it says stuff like that, but I actually really like them together.
-Nancy
I love her so so so much. It’s entirely relatable the way a crush can feel all consuming and irritating all at once. Her (and Cynthia’s) song was very much a highlight of the episode. I love that Nancy is just an all in type of person and she doesn’t really stop to hear a no for the answer. I do wish they would give her a little more depth. They’ve done a good job with Susan and Jane and Olivia and Richie and Buddy. All we really know about Nancy is that she is incredibly headstrong, a very talented seamstress/ designer, the daughter of the owners of the frosty palace who may or may not be an only child, a Buddhist who’s not a fan of reading, “scary” and although she hasn’t had much of a romantic life in the past, she has a big crush on Potato. Which is valid, because he‘s great. But still, I want to see a new dimension of Nancy with this new conflict within the Pink Ladies.
-Cynthia
She is in the “shit I am gay but no one can know, especially not the person who made me realize it’s true” phase where she fights it HARD. Compulsive heterosexuality hurts. She needs someone to talk to, before she implodes further. That moment with Lydia made me so so sad, but that’s just a real part of quiet culture for someone. Cynthia is hurting, and that doesn’t give her a free pass to hurt Shy Guy like she did, but I understand it. She’s gonna have to apologize bug time, when she comes around. Also, as always, I loved Ari’s part in the duet.
-Olivia
I’ve decided that if her and Richie are twins, she’s the older one for sure. The ages are so hazy, or at least their grade levels, and I’m kinda confused. So my head cannon is that she’s the older twin. Which would explain her protectiveness over the Pink Ladies, without factoring in the slightly homosexual overtures to hers and Jane’s friendship that is not present with the other PLs. Olivia hates Susan, and she does have reason for it. But that really doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t let Jane explain. Because people can change, and they can learn. But Olivia does NOT have forgive Susan, but she should’ve given her so-called best friend a chance to explain. No matter what Susan said, Olivia had NO right to do what she did. She knows what the school is like once they realize you are a “slut” and she knew that the consequences always land on the girl (does she not remember the extent of the conversation at Dot’s party??). Sorry that just made me so mad. And then to tell Richie what happened between Buddy and Jane :/Her moments with Gil were really sweet. But her going back to her abuser does not send a good message at all and I hope this is addressed before the season is over.
-Jane
She did the right thing not going with either guy to the dance. She was unsure of her feelings for either and did not want to lead them on or hurt them by choosing too soon, and that was a mature decision. Her budding friendship with Susan is interesting and kind of ironic. Her accidentally confirming Olivia and Mr. Daniels is unfortunate, but also something that would reasonably happen to me because I am bad at de-escalation techniques. Jane is very much people pleaser, even after everything, so it makes sense that she would sort of defend Susan. Her coming home to Olivia’s jacket already on her porch (which like, hello Flash because how did she get there before Jane) was almost the opposite of the scene where Olivia brings Jane’s jacket to her house. She did not even really register what Richie told her about Buddy and the election results (which like, how did he find out?)
-Richie
He is a good guy. He respects Jane’s space; he saw that Dot was devastated about her going dateless to the dance (which also sorta implies she’s never been if they previously had to have a date to register a ticket and she said her friends always had dates but not her). He was very kind to go with her, and go along with her quirks. Teenage jealously makes a person unsteady, and I am just glad someone told Jane the truth about Dick Aldridge.
-Buddy
I am still not his biggest fan, but man was he sad this episode. It seems like everyone is moving forward except him, which is expected when you realize most of your life is a lie. He needs a slap in the face and a hug.
-The others (Shy Guy, Potato, Mr. Daniels)
As for the rest: Potato remains one of my top guys; Shy Guy and Cynthia in the kitchen actually made me cringe because I know she feels nothing what he feels for her; and the predator needs to be imprisoned. I can’t believe he is trying to suck her back in :(
I need my girls back together. I need some proper communication to happen between Lydia and Cynthia.
Also episode 8 comes out the day before my birthday so I hope it’s a good one (they have not let me down so far).

A Shot in the Dark - Chapter 39, Lord Buchanan
Summary: After contacting Rhodes by radio, Quin vows to continue the fight. A shot in the dark has consequences.
Length: 3.8 K
Warning: Teasing between friends, actions causing death of a character.
<<Chapter 38
🥷 🖤
Bren sent a rider to Waya and Coulson about the King and Buchanan's fall trusting Quin to tell Heimdall when he joined that unit in the battlefield. By the time Quin returned to the castle the word had spread throughout the battlefield that the King had perished and his son would be crowned King that evening. When Quin and the King's Guard rode into the courtyard there were many soldiers crowded outside and inside the gates. He stopped under the gates and stood on his horse, turning and looking at the soldiers, seeing some familiar faces but many were unfamiliar to him.
"My people," he yelled. "We lost my father today by a sniper's bullet. What you don't know is he was dying already from Duke Walker's treachery ... a poisonous bullet that pierced his arm and spread a toxin through his body. When he woke today he saw the end of his life was near and chose to go out like a warrior, fighting with those who fight for him. Some of you only know me as a spoiled, petulant boy but I stopped being that brat months ago. Since then I have learned what it is to be a good man. I have learned that true nobility isn't something you're born with but something that you acquire by how you treat others and how you perform your duty to family, friends, and kingdom. I learned that from a man who was born a farmer's son. I have seen it in another man who was born a slave and still another who was born in a brothel. If you choose not to follow me that is your right. You can take your horse and your weapons, leave this battlefield, return to your families and live knowing that you will not be blamed by me for leaving. For I failed to be a noble man for the longest time. But if you believed in my father and joined his cause knowing that life under Duke John Walker would be infinitely worse then I ask you to stay. I ask you to put aside your lack of trust in me and believe in this kingdom and the right to live with dignity. I will bury my father this evening, then I will wear his crown. Then I will do something that many of you have never heard of. I will be the last King of the Western Plains. After the dust has settled and we have rebuilt I will abdicate to live as a normal man, like all of you. You will elect a ruler, and you will a elect a council to rule with that person. Anyone can be on that council, man or woman, current born or modern born, rich or poor. That is my pledge to you."
"You would give up being royal to defeat the Duke?" asked one man, and Quin looked for the face that went with the voice.
"Donald Cooper," said Quin, recognizing the face. "I bullied you for crossing in front of me as I rode my horse, making him rear. I made you put your face on my horse's droppings as punishment." Quin suppressed a look of self revulsion. "I did that to you yet you wear my father's uniform and by the spatter of blood on it you have slain many. Yes, I will give up being royal if you stay to defeat the Duke with me. In fact, if you are by my side I would be honoured. I am sorry for the cruel person I was."
"I will stand with you Quin Torres," said Cooper. "I was a bit of an ass myself at times."
There was laughter and Quin smiled a genuine smile. "Thank you. Tomorrow when we rise against that traitor you will be by my side. Is there anyone else who wishes me to reveal what cruelty I inflicted upon them for I remember them all, to my eternal shame."
There wasn't a sound then someone else yelled. "I will ride with you!"
Then another and another called out until it grew into a great chorus of men committing themselves to the future and last King. Quin wept openly then held his hand up one last time.
"You honour me," he said. "Tonight, eat, drink, spend time with your friends, go to a brothel, pray. I care not how you prepare for tomorrow just be ready to go in the morning and show Duke John Walker exactly what he is up against. I thank you all."
He dropped into his horse's saddle and rode into the courtyard where a groom took his horse from him. He waded through the crowd of soldiers inside the walls, many of whom touched him and shook his hand. When he entered and walked through the infirmary there were more who reached out to him and he touched their hands with genuine emotion. By the time he made it to the command centre he had been pressing through the crowds of people for over 30 minutes. The room, when he entered, was full of lords, some of them furious at what he had promised the crowd outside. They started yelling at him and as Fury was about to intervene Quin jumped onto the table and yelled back at all of them.
"You want it to go on like before?" he snarled. "You want to live in luxury while people lay dying in front of your estate because they have no work? Or they were injured in their job and you just let them go and hired another to take their place? You believe yourself better than them? Then why aren't you on Duke Walker's side because that's what he believes in and he is wrong. You followed my father for a reason. What was it? To keep yourself above everyone else or to help the kingdom get through changing times? For the times are changing and you are either on the right side of change or the wrong side. Make your decision now."
There was grumbling but no one left. Quin looked at Fury and saw a smile appear on the man's face. As far as Quin was concerned that was the only man's opinion he cared about. Fury motioned to the radio room and Quin jumped off the table, knowing he had to make a call to Buchanan's estate. He went inside where the ham radio operator was waiting to begin the call sequence. Quin sat next to him and the man began.
"CQ CQ CQ KWP2 to KBL1 CQ CQ CQ come in please," he said.
They waited a moment and the man repeated it then the response came.
"KBL1 receiving," said the voice, who Quin recognized as Rhodes. "Go ahead KWP2. Over."
"Rhodes, is that you? Over." said Quin.
"Roger," said Rhodes. "Quin? What news? Over."
"The King is dead, killed by a sniper," said Quin. "Is Lady Buchanan with you? Over."
"No, she is resting under doctor's orders," said Rhodes. "She almost lost the baby some weeks ago. Over."
"Damn," said Quin, before pressing the transmit button. "Buchanan was hit by a sniper as well, using a poison bullet. Tom took him aside and helped him transform as the white wolf is immune to the poison. He is on his way back to you, alone, and injured. Over."
There was a moment of silence. "That's why Tom was there," said Rhodes, sounding defeated. "Beth told us about his vision from the Sorceress. We can only hope Lord Buchanan makes it home. I hope he does for Lady Buchanan's sake. Over."
Quin considered his next words. "Do you remember when you caught me gambling?" he asked. "You cautioned me against the strategy I was using. You don't have to say it out loud as we may be monitored. That is our plan for tomorrow. If it works you will hear from me soon. If it doesn't I will be dead and have released the soldiers from your lands from their commitment. Over."
"Understood, good luck, your Majesty," said Rhodes. "I will inform everyone here of the latest developments. Over and out."
Quin nodded at the radio operator and he signed off. The young king went to the door and opened it expecting to hear the sounds of arguing but instead he saw determined faces. The room was packed with lords, commanders and sub commanders. Fury had rearranged the table so that everyone would be able to see the large map laid out on top. Quin stood beside Fury and looked up, seeing Bren, Coulson, Waya and Heimdall nearby. Across from him was his father's garrison commander Garcia. He saw his two uncles from his mother's family who had stayed true to the King. Then he saw the fathers of some of his friends who had encouraged him in his previous life of a wastrel. In fact, several of those friends stood with their fathers wearing blood stained battle leathers and he nodded at them for they were also no longer the brats they had all been before.
"Thank you for staying true to the King," he said simply. "Tomorrow we go all in. Fury has been working on a plan and I pray it works because I am no tactician. But we must defeat the traitor soon as he already believes he has won by killing my father and wounding my general. Lord Fury?"
"We will use that belief against him," said Fury. "Lord Buchanan's men will leave before sunrise and we will pass the word they have been released from the battle as they were loyal to Buchanan and not an untested boy. My belief is that Walker will become overconfident and advance on the castle. We have all night to build blinds and trenches near the castle walls to hide our numbers, make him believe that most of you have also abandoned the fight. Buchanan's units will double back and attack Walker's forces from their rear. The rest of you will let the first wave pass then attack them from within. The final part of our force will be inside the castle walls. When the word is given they will attack by leaving through the gates while our archers and sharpshooters wreak havoc from above. We swarm them as a disturbed hornet's nest swarms anyone nearby."
"Do you not think we should negotiate for peace?" asked Lord Washburn, the small, sallow man who had suggested Quin hide out in the castle.
"Walker has killed my father with treachery," said Quin, pointedly. "You would trust his word in peace negotiations? There shall be no negotiations for peace, only his defeat."
"I'm not sure I can be part of this," said Washburn. "I think I shall withdraw."
"Too late for that Lord Washburn," said Fury, suspiciously, gesturing to the King's Guard. "The time to withdraw was before this meeting. Is there another reason you wish to leave now?"
"No, no, of course not," said Washburn, nervous now. "I ... I was undecided before."
Two of the King's Guard appeared behind him at Fury's gesture, and grasped his arms. Another appeared and looked through Washburn's pockets, pulling out a document and bringing it to Fury. He looked at it with a stony face then handed the document to Quin.
"A letter from Duke Walker offering you a powerful position in his cabinet," said Quin, sneering at the man. "Dated a week ago. You've been a spy for some time Washburn. Throw him in the dungeons. He will be judged after the battle."
"You are not the King!" yelled Washburn as the King's Guard dragged him out. "You're a worthless coyote pup."
"Anyone else want to admit to receiving such a letter?" asked Quin as Washburn's epithets faded away. "Now's your chance to get thrown in the dungeons."
To a man the remaining lords turned out their pockets to reveal they had nothing to hide. Quin smirked and nodded his approval. Fury addressed them again.
"The King's funeral will take place immediately in the chapel where he will be interred," said Fury. "Immediately after Prince Arthur will be crowned as King. I have already spoken to the companies who will be outside the wall and who will be inside. All archers and sharpshooters are to be on the battlements before sunrise. This briefing is over."
The funeral was brief as was the coronation. Quin wore his battle leathers for both ceremonies, dispensing with pomp and circumstance. In his opinion his elevation to king was like a battlefield commission, the mantle of responsibility was offered to him and he accepted. Drinks were offered to the men to mourn and celebrate. As Quin stood outside the chapel receiving the congratulations and fealty of the lords he leaned towards Fury.
"How does this affect the marriage contract?" he asked.
"It doesn't," replied Fury. "The terms of the contract have already been fulfilled. You have been crowned King and when your bride arrives there will be a separate ceremony crowning her your queen. The finances were put aside in a vault upon my return with the contract and will be paid to her upon her arrival. You will have nothing when you abdicate but she will keep her fortune as a contract is a contract. You will be a common man married to a rich, common woman."
"I hope she doesn't divorce me when she finds out she has to give up her title," said Quin.
"She won't," said Fury. "I told her the King's plan for he thought of it some time ago. She agreed to it. It is buried in a sub clause somewhere but I pointed it out to her."
"But not to me," said Quin, looking at Fury in surprise.
"Need to know," said the inscrutable man. "Your mother was aware of your father's plans but she also has a contract that will keep her and your sisters comfortably for many years." Fury looked sideways at Quin. "There is nothing to stop you from running for office, you know. You have a gift for oratory, that's making speeches. People like you. They like that you have changed from the shallow, spoilt youth that you were to a determined, principled man. Keep that in mind when you consider your future, your Majesty."
Quin smirked. Fury was sly but he was loyal and that was worth much. After the long line of lords had finished paying their respects, Quin removed the crown, gave it to Fury to return to the vault then went outside to dig trenches with his soldiers. He was surprised to find Liam and Edward each with a shovel already there.
"So do we have to call you King Arthur now?" asked Liam, as he leaned on his spade briefly. "I mean, this morning you were still Quin Torres who farts in his sleep. How did the Baroness feel about that on your honeymoon?"
Quin smiled but didn't answer. "He probably waited until she fell asleep and let it all out in one rip," said Edward. "I'm surprised he didn't wake her up when he did it."
When Quin didn't take the bait his two friends looked at each other then upped the ante. "How did the Baroness feel about the third nipple?" asked Liam, with a straight face.
Several other soldiers stood up, hearing the question. Quin stood up and looked at his friend exasperated. "You mean the one you wanted to suck because you missed your mam's tit?" he asked.
There were sniggers from the other soldiers, including Edward. Liam turned red, at least Quin assumed he did in the dark. "That's low, Quin, that's really low," complained Liam.
"You started it," said Edward. "I think he defended himself well. You insulted his wife, he insulted your mother. All that's left is his horse."
"Don't go there," warned Quin, trying not to laugh. "A man's horse is something special. You both know that. You've both slept your fair amount of time in stables."
"More than brothels I would suspect," said another voice and Bren appeared. "Cease the insults you three. I could hear you from a hundred yards away. The last thing you want is for spies to hear you in the dark. Your Majesty, would you like these two to remain with you in the morning? Perhaps as your personal guards?"
"Don't you need them?" asked Quin. "I guess I could put them on the food serving line. They have experience with that."
"As do you," retorted Liam.
Quin laughed then approached his friends in the dark. "Truce," he said, offering his hand.
Edward stepped forward just as a gunshot was heard and he fell to the ground. There were yells all around as everyone dropped to the ground and Bren yelled for soldiers to search the tree line then he called for a medic. He kneeled down and took out a shielded battery light. Edward laid splayed out on the ground with his eyes wide open. Bren leaned over Edward's lips and looked sideways at Quin, dousing his light.
"Get in the castle," he ordered. "You're done here. He's gone."
Quin, stared at the body in the darkness, not believing what had just happened. Liam grabbed him and jolted him out of his inaction, both of them scuttling low to the ground, with Liam keeping his body between the tree line and Quin. As they entered the courtyard Quin hit the wall with his fists, angered at what had just happened. Liam, stood with him, his mouth quivering. Quin turned to him.
"I want you with me when I kill that bastard myself," he spat out.
Three soldiers brought in a young man. One of the soldiers held a long rifle and a device that looked like it fit over the head. Quin noticed with disgust the man wore a patch with the tarantula spider.
"My own kinsmen sent to kill me," he stated. "Have you no idea that I have de Torres blood?"
"Not pure blood," stated the young man. "You're an abomination. All mixed bloods are. Walker promises to leave us alone if we help him kill you and your blood traitors. We will take over the lawless lands and control the coffee trade."
Quin struck him and bloodied the man's nose. "Put him in the dungeons," he said to the soldiers. "He will be hanged for the traitor he is. He's no family of mine."
The young man smirked and spat out a blob of bloody phlegm. Fury came out as Bren came into the courtyard, carrying the body of Edward in his arms. He looked at Quin with concern when Bren passed by.
"Your Majesty, I'm sorry," he said. "We will bury your friend with honour."
"Promise me, Fury," said Quin, looking at the man in the dark. "We send all of them to hell. They think I'm an abomination, a mixed blood. The men who negotiated my mother's marriage to my father think the progeny of that marriage don't deserve to live. We wipe them out, all of them."
The third soldier, carrying the long rifle and head gear, handed them to Fury, wordlessly. Fury put the headgear on and swore. Calling to the garrison commander he ordered a sweep of all the tree lines around the castle. The trenches had to be built but if there were any more snipers then all of their plans would be for nought.
"What is that thing?" asked Quin. Fury put it over Quin's head and the young king looked around in amazement. "It allows them to see at night? Are the secret tunnels still walled up?"
"Yes," replied Fury. "We should open them to allow Buchanan's force to leave secretly. I'll get people on it immediately."
"Secret tunnels?" asked Liam.
"From after the calamity," said Quin. "They were built to allow the first king to get his men out quickly without being seen. The tunnels end about 2 miles from here. I don't even know if they are still intact. You will have to lead your horses out using a torch for light."
An hour later Fury reported the tunnels were all intact. He suggested Buchanan's men exit now and hide in the washes just north of Amarillo but he wanted Waya's men for another task. A flare would be sent up when it was time to attack the rear. Bren, Coulson, Heimdall and Waya were sent for and Fury and Quin spoke to them alone in the radio room, with no one else present. Fury looked at the men.
"I am sorry for the loss of young Edward," he said. "There is a gentleman's agreement that no hostilities take place at night. We know once more that Walker is no gentleman. By the words of the sniper himself we are considered blood traitors for allowing mixed marriages. They are zealots and in their eyes they can do whatever they want to defeat us. Well, we can play dirty as well. Waya, I want you to go to Walker's estate, and the estates of his commanders and take their families hostage. You will bring them back here using the tunnels. They are not to be harmed. I wish to use them bring the traitors out of their tents, out of their places of safety. They will be given a choice. Surrender or we kill their families."
The four commanders looked at Fury with alarm.
"Of course we won't do that," he said. "We're not monsters. We don't kill women and children. Hopefully if they see and hear their husbands and fathers throw them to the wolves they will turn from him and his commanders. Then we slay Walker and his traitors from the parapets and from the rear. No mercy. It will be a massacre, yes, but it will be known we gave them the opportunity to surrender peacefully. The decision to die would be theirs."
"If they do surrender?" asked Bren, still troubled.
"A trial for Walker, his generals and lords for treason," said Quin. "The families will be sent into exile. Princess Maria has already promised enough ships to take them to some islands far in the south ocean. They will be left with supplies then life will be up to them after."
The four commanders agreed and their soldiers were summoned into the courtyard with their horses. Waya's company set out through the tunnels first, armed with maps of the estates of Walker, the lords aligned with him and his generals. The other three companies went through and assembled at a wash a couple of miles further on. They were ordered to rest easy until the signal was given.

Leverage Mark Showdown -- Second Heat Contestants
Where the nominator left comments (or fun extra descriptors), I'm including their comments, cause those are way better than what I'd come up with. Where they didn't leave comments, you'll have to settle for mine :P
Jack Lattimer The Radio Job, The Last Dam Job (also sort of most of Season 4) Hes a background guy, just barley staying relevant but also managing to be a pain in the ass to Nate and the crew, but he's not as much of a threat as Damien Moreau, but still stays in the background disrupting htings and giving the crew a hard time purely beciase he wasts a few extra bucks. Hes a bad gys that feels realistic an investor who found a way to cheat the system to benefit himself.
Jimmaaay Jimmy Jimmy Ford The Three Card Monte Job go grandpa
Dr. Anne Hannity The Inside Job That cocky/confident shit is hot... Except for the part where she manufactures a famine. But every time she thought she had a trump card she was sexy af
Dalton Rand The Future Job he's the worst kind of loathsome esp bc he's the most directly confronted with the harm he's doing and is totally blase about it
Nicky & Heather Moscone The Wedding Job They're both great caricatures and I like that they double cross each other.
Alan Foss The Two-Horse Job He’s one of the most well-sold “cartoonishly evil immature dickbag“ characters  we encounter. I love his arrogance, his uber-hateable sexism, and the over the top reactions he makes are so much fun to watch him get angry about. Damien Moreau, "IF WE MUST" The Big Bang Job, The San Lorenzo Job - specifically for the bathrobe and flipflops and being carefully staged to not look like everyone around him is normal human size, bless him - silly charming terrifying bastard man. can't believe this hasn't been done yet.
Retzing & Sons The Snow Job Dysfunctional crime family getting synergistically worse the more they try to deal with each other. Also I get excited every time I see my boy Jonathan from Buffy
Meredith The Lonely Hearts Job Man, she actually almost did our heroes in, didn't she? I love her grudging respect for Sophie, like she is genuinely into the art of grifting and willing to acknowledge being bested
James Kanack The First Contact Job He could have just been another rich and successful asshole. But no, that wasn't enough for him. HE HAD TO TALK TO ALIENS.
Mitchell Kirkwood The Studio Job Dude was a charming psycho, I'd let him murder me for my songs 😍 Plus watching his face break was 😚 Divine 😚
Hugh Whitman The Gone Fishin' Job Yeah, you know, let's do some regular debt collection fraud and also fund an entire militia out in the woods behind the bank, that seems normal, right?
Larry Duberman The Reunion Job what if there was a nerd who had sometbing sooooooooo wrong with them. also his actor was in big eden i got really excited when i recognized him
Wendy Baran The Gimme a K Street Job - okay I cave, you got me with this one. You're gonna have to send some propaganda, cause the nominator didn't say anything and i literally remember nothing about this character except she thinks breaking teenage girls' necks is a fun way to make money - Update! The nominator says: - Okay I said Baran bc I hate her so very much -  And she’s a girlboss (derogatory)
Andrew Grant The Miracle Job Love the energy, love the way he threw a wrench in their plans by being even more of a sleazy money grubber than they expected (and more creative about it!), and yeah, he's another one that I actually feel kinda bad for cause playing on his anxiety was LOW.
Irina Larenko The Stork Job She was such a ditzy cunt, I hated her but I loved watching her on screen. Kinda cute in a way idk plus her main muscle was kinda unfff

Pigsy character sheet! 🐷🍜
(It's a work in progress...)
Is it bad that my second favorite character is the main character's father?? Also, PIGSY IS MK'S FATHER!! NOT WUKONG!! Don't get me wrong, I love Wukong BUT HE IS NOT THE FATHER!! *Insert Jerry Spinger meme* Ya know a oneshot I'm working on, (and just a silly headcannon I've seen that isn't that popular but it's cute) is that Pigsy adopted both Mk and Wukong. Like he got used to Wukong and just decided "Yep I need another one." and Wukong is Mk's big brother. It's cute okay. (Also I'm pretty sure that Tripitaka was a father figure to some extent to Wukong. I can't fact check that because I've never read Jttw but I think it's cute that Tang would be a father too Wukong twice after Wukong lost his family. (I don't know, I like it.)
Anyway back to Pigsy. Pigsy is a very underrated character and I wish he just got a bit more outta him. Like I know he's in I think every episode but I just wish we knew a little more about him. Like does he have siblings? How did he meet Tang and Sandy? Why does he yell at Tang for being a freeloader but still provide him food?
(I know the answer, they're married/srs.)
These don't have to be episodes or anything but I wish we knew a bit more. Exept the Tang one. I do genuinely want to know how they met. We knew from a photo in Pigsy's kitchen that they graduated together but HOW did we get there?? Just curious. Anyways back to my drawing and why I added stuff I added!!(Stuff will change so be prepared)
☆ Why he is so scruffy/fluffy??
1. I like the idea that Pigsy is a mix between a boar and just a normal fluffy pig. His mom is a boar and his dad is pig. I don't think female boars have tusk but shut up okay!! Let me have this. I just like the idea alot that Tang is this polished, rich boy while Pigsy is this fucking scruffy wild animal.
(Same dynamic with Wukong and Macaque. Wukong is this fluffy, golden, heart shaped monkie and Macaque is this scraggily animal.)
☆ Trans Pig??
2. Yes. I whole hearted believe that Pigsy is FtM. So is Mk. I just have this silly idea that Mk came out to both Pigsy and Wukong as Trans (Pigsy first obviously) and they both responded "Same kid." (I like Genderfluid Wukong but that's still under the Trans umbrella so ehh.)
☆ Lil details you might not have noticed.
1. Mk's little front hair part that sticks out of his headband is in the same shape as Pigsy's ears.
2. Pigsy has rips in his ears because he used to get into fights at school. (Another oneshot idea i'm working on where Pigsy is being made fun of like always so Tang decides to one punch man his bullies. Yeah Tang gets his ass beat and Pigsy and Tang get emotional.)
I believe that while most of Megapolis is accepting of demons and monsters not all parts like demons. Especially back when Pigsy and Tang were in middle and high school. It's better now be he still has scars from it.
3. Pigsy's wedding ring is on his right hand on the drawing to the left. Pigsy has a pretty and shiny wedding ring from Tang while Tang has essentially a tinfoil for a ring because Pigsy's couldn't afford much. (Pigsy feels bad about it but Tang wears that thing likes it's gold so he obviously likes it ALOT.)
4. Pigsy has both darker and lighter parts of fur. I have no explanation for this. Let's pretend it's because boars are darker than pigs so his Mom's fur tone is shining through. (Also that stupid "Pigs roll around in dirt and mud joke.")
5. I know I've talked about my oneshots on Wattpad (that's aren't out yet cause I want them to be good.) But for a Freenoodles oneshot I'm working on I 100% believe that Tang brags about Pigsy.
6. I updated my Tang design! If you look at my Instagram you can see this ugly art I did for Tang and Pigsy and they alot diffrent then I drew them three months ago. (Yes I am slow when I update.) I really like the way I drew him. His hair is really fun to draw.
I think this is as much as I wanna talk about this drawing. I've gone on long enough and I wanna work on other art projects. Anyways live, laugh, love Pigsy 🐷🩷!!

actually realised i never spoke about how violante is a noble who also isn't, perfect excuse for lore dump of her sick sick childhood, tw for mentions of abuse
Violante's mother is a moon elf noble, lady Nalviel of house Waesphine, a powerful family of Waterdeep. The origins of the family's fortune come from textiles, specifically their trading, and later expanded into money-lending and, currently, into banking. Nalviel is the only heir of the main branch of the family, she's The heiress. Her father's aim, if not life goal, is to join the council of lords of Waterdeep and later become the open lord. He has been planning a marriage of convenience between Nalviel and one of the masked lords since the day his daughter became of age. Her father instead is a modest human trader from a small village near Baldur's Gate (where he conducts his small business), Erlan Riverstone.
The two meet when Nalviel comes to Baldur's Gate with a small entourage sent by her father to deal with some of the family affairs. They meet by pure coincidence around the city: Nalviel is drawn to Erlan for the excitement of having an affair with a commoner brings and a sense of freedom mostly, Erlan by the fact that such a rich lady of enchanting beauty could ever spare him a look. In a couple of weeks they decide to marry in great secrecy. Nalviel is naive and thinks that her parents will simply scold her but ultimately accept the union. She's always been spoiled, very much spoiled, and she's used to have everyone let her get away with most of her whims and tantrums, so she genuinely believes that marrying a commoner will be accepted as just any other of her desires. Erlan is ecstatic to say the least. I wouldn't say they were exactly in love, they both lived the story like it was a summer love, intense and fleeting, bound to end but Nalviel always had the tendency let things end by her own decision.
She leaves for Waterdeep again and brings her new husband along. Her parents reaction is far from accepting, they are furious, but no one knows about the marriage yet outside the family so they order to Nalviel to simply leave her husband (they would have him killed ofc) and never mention this whole story again so that her father's plan could still move along as planned. Nalviel is stubborn and at this point the whole story has become a simple childish desire, she wanted to win at all costs, so she tells them the other news: she's expecting a child (hiii fetus violante). Her parents orders still stand, but in addition they're asking for abortion too. Nalviel fights back and she's put in front of a crossroad: either forsake her foolish actions or become disowned, lose all her privileges and her birthrights, become an outcasts to the family.
Nalviel refused. Stubborn as ever, she was sure that her parents would back down and accept her back into the family and she believed so for months. She was sure that once her child would be born their hearts would soften and everything would go back to normal. It never happened. Instead her parents cut her off, told everyone in high society that she was dead to them, that they never had a daughter, her father took under his wing one of her distant cousins to become the new heir. They forced Nalviel and her new family into one of the minor manors of the family, run down and almost out of the city, there they are all confined by a pact: her parents would still give her a monthly revenue high enough to survive but she would never come back in society nor speak to them or call herself a daughter of lord Waesphine.
This is where Violante's family downfall begins. Nalviel ignored Violante most of the time during her early childhood, probably held her in her arms two or three times total after her birth. I'd say Violante always was a bit of a gloomy child, which is no surprise if you think not only of the people who lived with her but of the environment too (the manor was basically crumbling, dark and dusty and decadent, it could almost resemble a haunted castle where only spirits live. It was chosen to humiliate to Nalviel), but she was quite curious and playful as a kid. Her mother didn't stand her when crying or playing or talking in general so with time, after getting shouted at and beat, she began avoiding to speak altogether when her mother was around. Her only happy memory of childhood is her father reading her a book of fairy tales when she was little.
Erlan tried to be a father at first but it didn't really last, especially because Nalviel hated to see him interact with their daughter. Erlan and Nalviel discovered that the love between them was a fleeting thing now that they lost all the privilege and riches for it, they began resenting each other soon enough. Nalviel hated her husband more than anything in the world but she did hate her daughter just that touch more. She used to say that Erlan was her second biggest mistake while Violante was her first. She resented her birth and Violante began resenting it as well.
Sometimes Nalviel just needed someone to let her anger out on and ofc her daughter was the easiest target. She would hit her for the tiniest of the slips, lock her into her room for hours, sometimes a full day with nothing to eat, she was also a cruel teacher - Violante knows how to play the lyre (other than the lute) but under no circumstance she's willing to play. Her mother would use a cane to hit her fingers or arms every time she played the wrong note which made her hate the instrument immediately. Violante spent most of her days avoiding her mother when possible, she would either sit somewhere in the library and stay there reading for hours or stay in her room. When she was a teen she began desiring of dying, that's when her infamous perfume story begins. She read about poisons, recognised the belladonna that grew in the garden and began using the berries for her perfume. It never really worked, cruel joke of destiny she developed a resistance to poison instead. She never stopped drinking them though, to her it was still a taste of death.
Nalviel's aim never changed, she wanted a way to return into the high society but never really succeded. Her parents threatened her a few times but they never managed to stop Nalviel from doing what she wanted. She began planning of marrying Violante off to some lord (smth Vio hated with burning passion, always lamenting how her mother was trying to get rid of her like she was useless wares) so that she could waltz back into noble life in some way, it was a difficult plan since Violante wasn't the most...amicable. Her mother teached her every single detail on etiquette, no one could say Vio isn't refined but that coldness in her usually frightened most of the people around. Plus there were quite some rumors surrounding her involvement with Ruven (bastard son of the fallen drow house DeVir) and the fact they were barely ever seen without one another since they were teens didn't help.
Violante dreamed of killing her mother, she wanted to see her suffer, she wanted to torture her. She hated her father as well: while he wasn't as terrible as her mother, Violante always resented his indifference. He was a prisoner just as Vio was under Nalviel but he never tried to stop her, nor he ever spoke up when Nalviel abused their daughter. Vio daydreamed of what she would do to them with Ruven. Kill her mother and maybe let her father live, gauge out his eyes after watching her torture and murder Nalviel so that he could sit in his blissful indifference for the rest of his days, then they would run somewhere together and be together for the rest of their days. It never turned into reality since Ruven attempted to murder Violante first: a sacrifice to sign a pact with a powerful entity. He chose to offer Violante's life. Vio killed him in retaliation and she was the one to form the pact instead. With Ruven's murder it's like the world came crushing down on her so Violante, shocked and dismayed, fled from Waterdeep to hopefully never come back

So because I want to record my progression of where I am in the story, I'm posting my impressions of the units so far. (Disclaimer: I haven't read many of the stories, and about half the knowledge I have is from osmosis and spoilers. The other half is actually reading wiki entries and the actual stories. So if these takes are inaccurate, that is probably the point XD)
Without further ado....
fine - unit of 2 rich kids who are sort of trying to be slightly less evil but kind of still are evil, one (1) theatre kid who is just there for the ride and his crush, and a butler with the face of an angel and the threatening aura of a ezekiel-accurate angel in disguise. Also another impression I had of it was one chronically ill idol stan with three of his idol crushes. But they're solid, if slightly flowery; not exactly my style but their songs are good.
Trickstar - literally my sons. Traumatised idiots who choose to continue to see the bright side with a slice of anarchy. They're all so dumb. Their leader looks straight laced but is more insane than his co-leader who is perpetually wearing the ^u^ expression (except when trauma slapped). The other two members are a camera-phobic gamer boy who is also a model and a guy who exudes reliability and sanity but is also kind of an insane workaholic with inferiority issues. I'm adopting them all and their songs are like…both generic but SO sincere you can't hate it.
Ryuseitai - Me when first meeting them: Awww! A power ranger themed unit! So cute! Me, after hearing stuff about the two senior members' lore and how they recruited their youngsters: (clutching my heart, trying not to sob/lose my mind) Aww! A power ranger themed unit! S-so cute! I would die for literally all of them…WHY. Such silly happy sincere tunes sung by such silly, devastating characters??? Found family, to me
Alkaloid - everyone here believes they are holding everyone else back with their psychological problems (Mayoi), disability problems (Tatsumi), ability problems (Aira), or culture shock problems (Hiiro). And yet they're the unit whose songs have mostly all been ones I absolutely loved. Which means the assembly machine factory idols Eichi's got going on are working and idk how I feel about that
Eden - A bunch of guys with severe family issues who probably have never read the bible (well, maybe Nagisa has). So, like, tw inaccurate depictions of the bible? Anyway, deranged quartet of a softie obsessed with cool rocks but really he has sort of a god complex, a guy with a perpetual :D who is as smart as he thinks he is but is also kind of oblivious to all of his other skills and flaws (and thus is a combo of terrifying snake and kind of someone you're sort of humouring because he's funny), a spoiled princess who might have a bit of a savior complex, and a dude who kinda just got swept along for the ride but is actually really fond of them. And it shows in their music.
Valkyrie - Just….theatre kids, who put the drama in dramatic and the intense in intensity (that's definitely not how the expression is used). They also have a very strange thing going on even though they're trying to be healthier, but I'm too afraid to ask. Unfortunately, though, they have some killer compositions and so many references to Classics and Things, not to mention their songs are genuinely good for those who want that quick theatrical vibe
2wink - Adorable twins that I was lured into thinking were the normal mischief twin duo trope but what in the actual ensemble were the writers DOING? They deserve at least half the cw/tw tags. Also, one of them is kinda like Trickstar (just wants to make things brighter) while the other one has schemes and will not hesitate to destroy you while giggling, yes. All that angst but they have such cheery tunes. Like, boys please….
Crazy:B - I mean, with a name like that….listen. You think it's the guy with the metabolism-related medical condition who has a dad implied to be accused of cannibalism and his freeloader who is a literal prince but also constantly broke that would be the most insane. But, no, we also have a fifteen year old assassin who has definitely killed and a guy who is literally both committing identity theft AND helping in witness protection. But, yes, their songs are fun, as is their dynamic. Also…Amagi brothers. Ough.
Undead - This is just…four urban fantasy love interests thrown into a unit. I'm not exactly sure what urban fantasy race Adonis and Kaoru are (though sometimes I'm inclined to think adonis is the protagonist who just kinda got swept along for the ride except he does have the vibe sometimes (aka casually kidnapping HiMERU)) but a vampire and werewolf are very obviously there. Really do love their rock and roll style, like come on (though I sometimes do think it'd be cool if they let Rei's love for jazz into their songs)
Ra*bits - Look. I love them. It really is just a single dad with one of the most messed up backstories doing his best. But like, also, leave them alone please?? The writers really just made them the damsel in distress character that makes Subaru go "oh, I have to take this revolution stuff seriously" and that's not even mentioning all the other stuff they seem to go through??? Like they do not belong in whatever genre Enstars is going for but they make it work but….let them rest. Songs not my style but they fit their vibe of "smile and spread joy" which works cause I do feel joy. Like Trickstar without the revolutionary goals.
Akatsuki - TBH, I'm still kind of wondering why these three (a warrior, a mangaka, and a tailor who used to be a delinquent) are still idols. I mean, they do have talent and traditional aesthetic is fire, and they're definitely sort of found family, but why still idols guys? That said, again, songs not my style but they definitely capture their aesthetic and vibe and that's always cool to me. Also, one of the members was raised in a Buddhist temple and helped with funerals, and I do not know enough about Buddhism enough to say if they portray a Buddhist accurately but given how they portray everyone else's quirks, it probably still has a giant dose of deranged on it.
Knights - HAHAHAHAHA. They're all insane. But they have talent and earned their place in the big three. But that does not make them less insane. That's all because I will go a bit barmy if I think about them too much. Silly, insane knights who enjoy hobbies like kidnapping (affectionate) and dancing/singing (will kill you in a duel)
Switch - Look….at heart, I can't hate these fantasy game isekai themed group. I enjoy their music because I do like the electropop remix/edm thing they have going on. And it DOES kill me that the only two 3-people units (Akatsuki and Switch) both have the dynamic of "a couple of parents and their beloved and most treasured cinnamon roll of a chaotic son." But like Valkyrie, I don't know what's going on with the senior members and am too afraid to ask, especially since they seem fine with it while their son with synesthesia cheers them on.
MaM - He is literally a cowboy. I - is there a thing with Japan and cowboys? And did someone at the writer's table see that samurai, Victorian thief, cowboys, and pirates post? Because somehow, the only member of this unit is all of them. A very stark contrast against his weirdly cheerleader/mom friend songs. I know he has mommy issues (mafia thing, I think) but.....son, are you okay?
Double Face - Yeah, okay, I love them. They might be the murder unit and I still have no clue to their formation but I love it. Put the Victorian cowboy thief samurai pirate and the child assassin together and you get secret agent type music that sounds like it could be in an old spy flick? How can you not love it?

Are you two close enough to be doing this shit??
Roy and Nabu have appeared in about the same amount of episodes in their debut seasons, but the amount of screen time they had is completely different. Not to mention, Nabu and Aisha actually went on a date before anything happened between them
What has Roy done? Asked if the girls need assistance because they're not used to flying in water, cept Aisha, went on that one mission where Aisha and Tecna got pissed at each other, attempted to approach Aisha during that Alfea RF mixer but saw she was upset so didn't, and acted as a drummer for the specialists. I do not know SHIT about this guy. By this time in s3 I was crying about Nabu and Riven's friendship, and thinking about how Andros rich people are just terrible parents
Why is Roy a specialist, how did he end up working for royalty, what the fuck is Triton's aura, what is his family life like? We get like, nothing. We know nothing about Roy!! And he doesn't spend time with Aisha, so she also barely knows anything about him either!!
Like, Nabu lied about his name, but he was also quite literally being forced into a marriage and wanted to know who he was going to be forcefully stuck to for the rest of his life?? He was not just lying for fun (Whichever dub Sky said he lied to feel normal, I am looking at you)
Like I seriously like that Nabu and Aisha went on a date before getting super romantic with each other, it's cute and it feels like they're actually testing out the waters instead of being an assigned couple
AND I LIKE ROY. I think he and Aisha could genuinely be cute together but it is not the time nor do they have the screen time to explain this!
I know you're probably confused but Roy definitely smokes weed and Aisha needs that kind of chill energy in her life when she goes feral and decides to fight a demonic god all by herself. Like the dynamic of an ultra chill guy to balance out Aisha's "always turned up to 11"-ness, sounds cute, and every day I consider making Roy into a girl because Aisha is gay as fuck, but they have no real chemistry at this point so it feels fake and forced
Like, at least s3 had Valtor be the cause of Bloom's whole planet going gonzo to explain why she gets more screen time fighting Valtor than Aisha, but here there is no excuse. We wasted so much time on fake Florelia and Rivusa drama, and fucking DIASPRO'S ASS COMING BACK, and you can't even show Aisha and Roy having a conversation about wave wizards and how they both think they're cool???? Let me see them talk to each other!! Nabu was super dedicated to fighting Valtor despite his weakness and the fact that his parents wanted to keep him inside all day, I can see why that would appeal to miss runs away every two days to fight evil. Why would good boy Roy appeal????
If you want me to believe that they have a connection you need to show it!!!
