#Casey’s Star Wars fanfiction

A Request
Hi. Lou here. I have recently learned about some very upsetting plagiarism in the Star Wars fandom - an individual calling themselves “Casey’s Star Wars Fanfiction” is uploading (presumably machine-generated) “podfics” of Star Wars fan fiction to various sites with no credit to the original authors. They have, for whatever reason, selected my ancient fic “Crashing In Time” for this “honor.”
Nowhere on the multiple, monetized places they have put this recording is it mentioned I wrote this fic. Certainly, it isn’t mentioned that I wrote it at 14, finally on working antidepressants and at a school where the population didn’t want me dead. It is not a particularly good fic. But it’s mine. And what it represents in my life - my creativity finally bubbling back to the surface, making friends of my own - makes it, plot holes and questionable prose and all, one of the most precious creative endeavors of my life. It’s up there with The Novel. I have granted permission to every single person who has ever asked to translate or podfic my works. I have granted no permission to this spambot - and neither has anyone else.
If you see this, or things like this, please report them. Stories - even silly little time travel stories - can mean more to someone than you’d think.

List of queer books I read, loved & recommend!
(There isn't any particular order, I wrote these as I remembered them)
Master Of One - Jaida Jones & Dani Bennett (mlm, fantasy, very cool worldbuilding and magic system, funny, cool characters)
Legends & Lattes - Travis Baldree (wlw, fantasy, very soft & chill vibes)
The Priory of the Orange Tree - Samantha Shannon (wlw, high fantasy, cool worldbuilding, kinda reminds me of LOTR but with more dragons and feminism and lesbians)
Even Though I Knew The End - C.L. Polk (wlw, supernatural noir, cool 1930s detective story with angels & demons, I loved this one!)
The Love Interest - Cale Dietrich (mlm, science fiction, very cool concept)
The Darkest Part Of The Forest - Holly Black (side mlm, fantasy, cool fae lore)
The Weight Of The Stars - K. Ancrum (wlw, not quite science fiction but space stuff is involved, lovely and complex characters)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire Sáenz (mlm, fiction, very nice in general, there is also a sequel)
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue - Mackenzi Lee (mlm, historical and vaguely fantasy, nice story but I preferred the sequel honestly)
The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy - Mackenzi Lee (wlw, the sequel to the one before, more fantasy elements than the first, asexual main character!!)
Gallant - V.E. Schwab (no romance, but in the background one of the characters(?) uses they/them pronouns, very cool dark fantasy vibe)
Stranger Than Fanfiction - Chris Colfer (gay main character, trans main character, coming-of-age, nice book)
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (yes it's the Love, Simon book, mlm, fiction, pretty nice)
They Both Die At The End - Adam Silvera (mlm, sci-fi ish but mostly fiction, cool ideas, but the ending is sad! Very amazing book though, I haven't read the prequel yet)
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid (wlw, bi main character, historical fiction, cool story, just a neat book in general)
This Is How You Lose The Time War - Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone (wlw, sci-fi, very cool time travel stuff!! and very beautiful, it felt like reading poetry most of the time)
One Last Stop - Casey McQuinston (wlw, background trans & pan & queer characters, sci-fi or fantasy idk, but time travel, I loooved this book, great)
The House In The Cerulean Sea - TJ Klune (mlm, fantasy, THIS BOOK oh my gosh you should read it!!, just cute and lovely and good)
Under The Whispering Door - TJ Klune (mlm, fantasy, this book is also sooo amazing, great character development and awesome relationships and stuff, it's been a while since I read it but it was so good)
And They Lived... - Steven Salvatore (nblm, fiction, about gender identity and learning to love yourself, read it a while ago but it was very nice)
I Wish You All The Best - Mason Deaver (nblm, fiction, about finding your identity and people who care about you, very cute and sweet)
The Song Of Achilles - Madeleine Miller (mlm, historical, very good in general)
Carry On - Rainbow Rowell (mlm, background wlw in the third book, fantasy, it's a trilogy, basically Harry Potter if it was gay and also better)
Silver In The Wood - Emily Tesh (mlm, fantasy, very pretty, lots of fae stuff and lovely descriptions, it has a really good sequel too)
Pretty much anything by Alice Oseman (all cute and lovely and great, though I've only read Radio Silence so far I hear only good things, Solitaire is on my to-read list)
I Kissed Shara Wheeler - Casey McQuinston (wlw, fiction, it's been a while but I liked this book)
The Falling In Love Montage - Ciara Smyth (wlw, fiction, this book was so cute and funny and deeply emotional it made me Feel way too many things, I'd definitely recommend it)
What Big Teeth - Rose Szabo (a bit of queerness all around, fantasy, werewolves and monsters, this one was pretty cool!, lots of original ideas for the world/character building)

Plagiarist Alert- Star Wars fandom
Star Wars fandom, there's a plagiarist on youtube to look at. He (male voice) plagiarized at least two of my stories, and after work I will be going back to check for others. There are also stories that have titles that make me think of other stories I've read over the years, including some that are probably 20 or more years old.
Anyway, their channel is "Caseys Star Wars Fanfiction" They're located here. Find your fic, report it, and get this plagiarist banned.
For the record, the two of mine that have been plagerized so far are "You Shall Become (Me)" and "Custos"
I don't have time to look for more, but I'm going to look after work. But he's monetizing my work, and that stops now
But everyone else in the Star Wars fandom, here's the heads up, and I hope none of yours are in there.
Also- Spread this far and wide. This guy shouldn't be allowed to keep doing this- he's monetizing my work! And the work of others!

Hi, Kass!
OC creators that have helped me through 2023:
You, @themaradwrites @goldheartedchaoticdisaster and @cecexwrites have probably done the most to help me this year. When branching out into the OC Community, I connected to you all, primarily through the OC Creator Bingo. You have all become good friends to me, inspired me, been lovely commenters (both on my fics and in replying to my comments on yours), introduced me to new fandoms, sent me asks, and talked me through elements of my fics.
@shrinkthisviolet helped me dip my toe back into the Star Wars fandom, which was one of my first and treasured fandoms. I never would have watched the Obi-Wan Kenobi series without her. Lucy Kenobi was probably the first Star Wars OC that I read.
@come-along-pond and @the-time-lord-oracle have helped me (whether they knew it or not) by getting back into reading Doctor Who fanfiction, revisiting one of my favorite Doctors, and inspiring me to create my own OC for the fandom, which has made the 60th Anniversary of our show even better.
I have had some amazing fics by you all and still have more that I want to read from you.
OC fics of others that helped make 2023 a little better:
Shatterpoint series by shrinkthisviolet
Prince of Ruin by cecexwrites
The Designated Driver Series by the-time-lord-oracle
The Themii Series by the-time-lord-oracle
Guardians of the Galaxy: Remix by themaradwrites
MEMORIES by come-along-pond
Safe & Sound by arrthurpendragon
bad boy (no more) series by @avatarskywalker78
OCs of others that made 2023 not so crummy:
Lucy Kenobi (shrinkthisviolet)
Coco Selwyn (cecexwrites)
Elaine Barnes (AvatarSkywalker78)
Nicky Connors (AvatarSkywalker78)
Shareen Costello (the-time-lord-oracle)
Gazelle (the-time-lord-oracle)
Riley Black (themaradwrites)
Casey Carlisle (themaradwrites)
Poppy Watcher (come-along-pond)
Project some love into 2024 for another OC creator or fic:
I am hoping in 2024 that @munstysmind gets to revisit her Hawaii Five-0 story and that @millie-55 will have more time to write.
As for myself, I am hoping to get back to neglected OC stories Is This Love? and Never Knew. I had some burnout and writer's block in the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai fandom, but I'm hoping to overcome it in 2024. Julie and Alyssa deserve to have their stories told and finished, though I doubt they'll be finished by this time next year. And I would like to start posting Molly's story and writing Violet's.

"Red, White, and Royal Blue" by Casey McQuiston is extremely dated. I know it was published in 2019, but spiritually this is a relic from 2013. This is a 2/5 for me.
The rest of this post is overwhelmingly negative, so skip if you don't want to see.
I wanted to like this book, but I couldn't buy into its escapist fantasy. I like silly romcoms, but this novel felt like it had to excuse every aspect of itself. "Don't worry about the love interest being a British prince! He also hates the empire!" Okay, but now you got me thinking about British imperialism so much I can't ignore it.
Don't even get me started on how American politics is handled. Again, I am more than willing to turn my brain off and just enjoy a lighthearted romance, but the narrative didn't want you to turn your brain off. This would be fine if it went beyond buzzword acknowledgements of systemic injustice and the cesspool of American politics. Yes, rich white men in power is an issue. Do you have any else to say besides that?
And the thing that really grinded on my nerves was the narrative's insistence that Alex was some kind of underdog (you know, to contrast, Henry's privilege). But Alex isn't an underdog! He's rich! Both his parents were lawyers before they became politicians. His dad owns a lakehouse. His mom remarried a tech billionaire. Alex is rich and his lifestyle is rich. If the story wanted to be about a smart-aleck rich boy-- great! I'd actually prefer it that way! But instead it's all about how he feels like an outsider compared to how rich Henry is. I know it's not at the same level, but I would have preferred some acknowledgement over this insistence that Alex is Just Like Everyone Else (this in particular reminds me of how Sasha Alsberg accidentally revealed how blinded she is to her own privilege in "Breaking Time", but I digress).
Some other miscellaneous thoughts:
No story gets to call itself enemies-to-lovers if they fall in love in the first 100 pages
A book gets a free pass to make one Star Wars or Harry Potter reference; any more and it starts to read like it was focus-grouped for mainstream nerds
At the very least they should reissue this book to remove the (and I am loathe to use this word) cringey Harry Potter references
The prose is insanely readable, which is a rare feat of skill. McQuinston can write, I just wish she didn't write this story.
I've seen a lot of people say that this is written like a fanfiction, which I initially was going to fight on principle; upon reading this, I can concede that this story is at the very least structured like a fanfiction
Specifically, I think this story started as Hamilton fanfiction. No, I will not elaborate on this

What I read in 2023
And what I thought about it. Pretty much all Scifi/YA, read on if you want book reccs or just to be nosy <3 Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Do you have a favorite book of 2023? please let me know <3 Images and image descriptions included below the cut.
I will be using a 5 star system to rate each book.
Tumblr media
(Image Description, 4 books covers in a collage including half a soul, the house of lost wives, Saint Deaths Daughter, and The stargazers war). Half a soul By Olivia Atwater. I picked this book up on sale on kindle, and I liked it! It was easy to read but covered some interesting topics. The main character is cursed by the fae as a child and the book covers her dealing with this curse as an adult in victorian england. Think pride and prejudice but with curses and wizards. 4/5 stars. The house of lost wives by Rebecca Hardy. This was another kindle sale book and while i liked it, I think it could have used another run through editing as the pacing was strange. This book follows a young woman who can see ghosts and is trying to find answers behind the death of her sister. 3/5 stars. Saint Deaths daughter by C.S.E Cooney. This book was probably my biggest surprise of 2023. I loved this book, its beautifully written and very fresh. It follows the daughter of 2 famous necromancers as she struggles with family members both alive and dead. 5/5 stars, excited to see more from this author. The Stargazers war by JP valentine. This author has become one of my favorites this year. I love his sense of humor and the fact that his books often have found family feels. 5/5 stars, cannot wait for the next book.
Tumblr media
(Image description, 4 book covers in a collage including Briar heart, The false princess, Nona the Ninth, and This quest is Bullshit). Briar heart by Mercedes Lackey. This is a fairy tale retelling that plays with the usual tropes of that genre. Any book by this author is very comforting to me and this one was fun but not stunning. 3/5 stars. The false Princess by Eilis O'neal. This felt like a book 12 year old me would have been obsessed with, and 24 year old me really liked it too. It follows a princess who finds out she was a body double this whole time, and her journey after leaving her childhood home. 4/5 stars. Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. Listen, this is Tungler dot com, I do not need to sell this book here. 5/5 stars, I will break into your house and leave copies of this series for you to start reading :) This quest is Bullshit! By JP valentine. This is this authors second appearance on this list and for good reason. This book was my first foray into LitRPG - fiction written as though the characters are in a roleplaying game. It was extremely funny and very fresh and exciting to me. If you enjoy playing DND or baldurs gate, you will probably like this series. 5/5 stars.
Tumblr media
(image description; 4 book covers in a collage including Terrier, A coup of tea, Wolfsong, and Hyperbole and a Half). Terrier by Tamora Pierce. This was a reread! I love Tamora Pierce, she is one of my go-to comfort authors. This series is not my favorite of her Tortall series, but it still stands up! 4/5 stars. A coup of tea series by Casey Blair. This series follows a princess who chooses her own path - which turns out to be making tea! If you loved Uncle Iroh, you will like these books. 5/5 stars, I wanted more! Wolfsong by TJ klune. This was my first TJ klune book and it delivered. This book will have you asking "Did TJ klune grow up reading high quality werewolf fanfiction?" because it reads like high quality werewolf fanfiction. 4/5 stars. Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh. This is the only nonfiction on the list but for good reason! It is an absolutely hilarious collection of true stories that had me hooting like a goose. 5/5 stars.
Tumblr media
(Image description; Just one book cover, Girls made of snow and glass by Melissa Basherdoust). Girls made of snow and glass by Melissa Bashardoust. This book is an honorable mention because I'm pretty sure I read it in 2022, but I really loved it. This book was special to me because it involves a positive relationship between a stepmother and stepdaughter and nice sapphic representation (NOT between stepdaughter and stepmother you guttersnipes). 5/5 stars for me :D

can i ask you a question since you reread the rwrb book recently? i reread the book in preparation for the movie. i remember loving the book when it first came out but on a reread it comes across as a bit... cringe? am i alone on this? idk if casey mcquiston was/is active in tumblr fandom but it comes across that way since they write the rwrb characters like that. I swear prince henry's emails about harry potter/star wars are taken straight from a 15 year old's tumblr post. it just doesn't make sense to me that a prince in his 20s would talk like that. i feel like the pop culture references date the book terribly even though it's only like 5 years old? also the constant quips between alex/june/nora can be exhausting to read, especially because it's in every conversation. i still love the book but i much prefer the movie dialogue tbh because it comes across as way more natural to how people in these positions would actually talk (obviously with a comedic tone). I also appreciate that the movie took out the overt pop culture references, it comes across as more appealing and somewhat more timeless, even though it's clearly taking place in modern day. idk i just feel like i could rewatch the movie in 10 years and enjoy it. but i feel like in order to read the book again i have to remind myself that its essentially published tumblr fanfiction from the 2010s.
I can't really relate since I loved the book just as much if not more in my reread haha, I do see what you mean about how the pop culture references date it but I don't particularly think that takes away from the reading experience for me. I agree that sometimes dialogue has to be changed for the film, I think this is often the case with adaptations where things that work in writing but in a spoken conversation they have to be reworked to feel natural. I don't know either whether casey mcquiston had tumblr at any point but tbh I don't get the published fanfiction vibe — I just feel that the characters are at heart meant to be regular (albeit very intelligent and well educated) young people who do just like to talk about regular stuff like pop culture.

As some of you may know, this month will be happening the fanfiction event Multiamory March (hosted by @polyamships), which is similar to Femslash February - but instead of fanfics centered on femslash ships, it's fanfics centered on polyamorous ships. So just like I did last month with Femslash February, I'll be taking prompts through all this month for Multiamory March and posting them in my account on AO3 iammyownsaviour (ant1hero). Here's the list of all the fandoms and ships I want to write on march, you can send me an anonymous or non anonymous inbox with your prompts which can be more than one (I'd actually love if people send multiple prompts 'cause it helps a lot) and you can even say in the inbox, in case you have an AO3 account, if you want me to gift the fanfic to you!
*I'll accept prompts from any prompt list you find, you can even create them if you want. I have a preference for AU's, Tropes and Taylor Swift lyrics but any kind of prompts is fine!

Book ask! 1, 10,19, 20! 💙
book answers <333
book you’ve reread the most times?
excluding the series that shall not be named... i have a few ~comfort reads that i've found myself revisting over the years. the watchmater of filigree street (natash pulley) is one of them. shocker i know, none of you expected this!! i've also read the captive prince series (c.s. pacat) a few times, esp. kings rising the last book. i really don't like diana gabaldon as a person (i think her stance on fanfiction is not only stupid as fuck but also hypocritical considering she stole her male lead from old doctor who episodes and didn't even change his name.) but the first outlander novel remains a favourite of mine in the historical romance department and i've read it many times. the series got lost along the way (at least i lost interest) but the first one is really entertaining! also time travel and scotland, you know i'm there for it. i've read red white & royal blue (casey mcquiston) a bunch. 3 or 4x ? it's got that classic romcom vibe and i deeply connected with the way it approaches grieving someone when you're young/for the first time. i've also read cyrano de bergerac (edmon rostand) a lot. both in the original french and different translations. it's excellent.
10. do you have a guilty fav?
i don't know if i believe in guilty favs tbh! as long as it's not hurting anyone, why should i feel guilty about art that i enjoy? but for the sake of the game/for the sake of argument, i'll try to come up with a list. i guess i read a lot of star wars novels (big nerd over here) and they're very quick adventure-y types with a sprinkle of character study so it's hard to consider them as literature sometimes? so a few of those would be on the list. i really enjoyed the padme trilogy, padawan, master & apprentice, all of claudia gray's sw novels, the rots novelisation, brotherhood etc. there are a few het romances i also love a lot that i suppose i could include here? outlander is the first. but i adore emily henry's writing too which makes me feel pretty basic bitch, but she writes a lot of fun romances with bookish themes and that's like catnip to me. any of the darth vader comics ?? that counts, right? oh! i recently read an arthurian retelling that cast merlin as a queer teenager coming to camelot impersonating her brother and meeting young arthur and kind of falling in love with him. i suppose that had a cringe cover but i had so much fun with it. one of my fav ya i've read recently. it's the other merlin! idk that i'd describe it as a favourite book overall but....
19. most disliked popular books?
i loathe the all for the game series that was popular on tumblr a few years ago? there was nothing compelling about it to me. it wasn't that well written, the characters weren't that compelling, the sport was boring and the romance just didn't have the ooof i needed from it. i truly never understood the hype. i tried reading the kiss quotient (helen huang) which was huge in the romance circles a while back and never finished it. ok this one comes from the depth of my childhood and will not be relatable to many of you but les chevaliers d'emeraude (anne robillard) is SO awfully written it gives me hives. i don't know if it counts but i despise jules verne too. fuck that guy, i know he's ~classic but his writing is so fucking dull. and i haven't read albert camus since high school so my opinion might change if i revisit him, but i remember him making me soooooo angry. i think everything written by cassandra clare is pretty awful. i hate her style. sooooo many people were gushing over boyfriend material (alexis hall) and i hated that. the main character was annoying and immature and simply not charming at all to me. i don't think i laughed even once. i need to laugh in a romcom, come on!! it has a four stars rating on goodreads and i simply do not get it. it was boring and i hated the writing style. and apparently, there's a sequel too ??? talk about the most unnecessary book written ever. sorry to fans of it, it was just no my cup of tea.
20. what are things you look for in a book?
not necessarily all at once but:
a historical setting (i esp. love the first half of the 20th century)
some fantasy elements. it doesn't have to be high fantasy (though i like that too) but a little sprinkle is always fun.
romance !!!!! i love a good pinning, swooning, soft, tender romance!!! (duh) enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, strangers to friends to lovers. it HAS to be a slow burn because instalove turns me off.
i love a good found family/a good friend group!!
time travel is not a must but it's an easy way to seduce me
my main character type is heart of gold/noble intentions/heroic but struggling with anger issues... so a bit of that and i'm sorted.
snarky female characters. (actually just well-written female characters in general, which feels like a very basic ask but we allllll know it's not that easy)
i looooooove a good mystery. not a murder mystery, i'm not super into those. but i love a book that presents us with something to solve (like the shadow of the wind)
i'm not super into unhappy endings (tho. i don't mind them once in a while) but i love melancholic stories and Drama. just something that makes me FEEL.
it has to be atmospheric/it has to transport me.
i love poetic writing/beautiful prose.
also it (almost always) has to be gay. lbr.

Pancake’s Pride Month Book Recs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Delightful Romance Novels
These three books are heavy on the romance and read like the best fanfiction, with plenty of humor and heartbreak before the (spoiler alert) happy ending!
The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun:
Dev works as a producer on a Bachelor-like reality TV show and desperately wants his own happily ever after. Enter Charlie: this season’s Prince Charming, who’s anxious and afraid to let anyone in, but handsome as hell. Secret dating and strong mental health themes round it all out to make this mlm + aspec romance a wonderful read 😊
One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston:
23yo August falls in love on the New York Subway when she sees the leather-jacket-clad Jane who’s quite literally stepped out of the 70s and into the modern day. Between the lovable queer community, drag queens, pancakes, and time travel mystery, this wlw book is so so great!
A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
After landing a government job he knows nothing about, Robin finds himself embroiled in a magical side of London he also knew nothing about. In Edwardian England, he teams up with the incredibly smart but reserved magician Edwin to figure out what happened to his missing predecessor. There are libraries and labyrinths and countryside manors, spicy scenes and an inventive magic system in this mlm romance ✨ plus, a wlw sequel is coming out later this year 👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sad Gays
Don’t expect a happy ending with these, but they’re gorgeous love stories that will stick in your mind and refuse to leave.
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
A retelling of the Illiad through Patroclus’s POV, as he and Achilles fall in love as young boys and become fiercely devoted to each other. But of course there’s war and glory and tragedy to be had… this one’s heart wrenching for sure! But oh it’s a beautiful read 💜
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
In a fictionalized old Hollywood, the beautiful young Evelyn Hugo does whatever it takes to become a star and goes through seven marriages in the process. Although that’s what she’s famous for, the book is actually about hiding queerness when coming out could have wrecked your career— I got wayyy more emotionally compromised from this book than I expected! (There’s wlw and mlm in it!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Magical Bisexuals
The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo
This one’s a retelling of The Great Gatsby, but from the POV of Daisy’s friend Jordan Baker. In this version, Jordan is a Vietnamese queer woman with a talent for magical paper craft. In fact, just about every character is now queer! It’s not a simple love story, but it’s certainly one to suck you into it’s hazy world of parties and poor choices. There’s one scene in particular that has stuck with me for months now.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
As a hopelessly lost 20-something this one really hit home for me— we quickly learn that the immortal Addie LaRue is forgotten by everyone she meets until she comes across Henry who somehow remembers her. The book alternates telling her 300 year history (beginning in France when she gets her curse) and their present day story. Both main characters are bi! This is one book I absolutely didn’t want to end.

The Fantasy Trilogies
The Shades of Magic Trilogy by V. E. Schwab:
This trilogy is mostly about the magic plot of parallel universe Londons and the struggles of its main characters, with a side of romance. While I’m p sure all the characters are bi, there is definitely a take-my-breath-away mlm romance. And oh! The characters! They’re wonderful— from the powerful but leashed magician Kell to the girl with all the knives Lilah to the charming but hurting prince Rhy. They simply don’t let go of your heart even after you’re done reading.
The Simon Snow Trilogy by Rainbow Rowell:
The mlm romance takes center stage in this trilogy!! They’re rivals at their magic school which is delicious in itself, but add to that an interesting breakdown of the chosen one trope, an amazing dive into how depression can affect your relationship, vampiric self-discovery, and downright hilarious writing and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to these audiobooks 😅
I think a lot of people have probably already read many of these books but eh, whatever— they’re my fave queer books I’ve read in the last few years! 💖💜💙

7. A Book You Did Not Finish
I haven't DNFed a book in while because I am very picky with what I read, but one that comes to mind was this God awful book called "Awake" by Natasha Preston. I thought it was gonna be a mystery book because of the blurb, but instead it was just a wattpad style straight romance that made me want to die.
9. Your favorite book of 2020
I'll have to go with "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. I ADORE that book!
14. A book that made you trip on literary acid
This may sound like a weird choice, but it's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" for me. Maybe it’s due to the circumstances in which I first watched the movie (basically high on sugar and at 3am), but the book was just... weird.
23. A book that is currently on your TBR
"The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern. It's the favorite book of a friend.
24. A book on your nightstand.
"Great Goddesses" by Nikita Gill (the author is my favorite poet)
29. Your favorite YA novel.
"The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas. 11/10 stars.
31. A book that mentions a name in the title.
"My Lady Jane" by Cynthia Hand (and other people). Hilarious story. I probably won’t like it as much the next time I read it, but I loved it in 2019, and that’s what matters i guess lol.
41. A book about nature
*squints* Well, I am no nature-expert but... Are dolphins a part of nature? If so, "Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell
46. A book with a brown cover
Well, it's not entirely brown, but it mostly is, so I submit my copy of Shakespeare's "Macbeth". Best Shakespeare book I've read.
48. Your favorite sci-fi novel
I am ashamed to say that the only scifi novel I own and have read is "Winter's Orbit" by Everina Maxwell
49. A book featuring the bed-sharing trope
Lmfao of course I would use this book for THIS question - "Six of Crows" by Leigh Bardugo, aka my favorite book rn
50. A book that made you cry a LOT
"All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque. It is one of my alltime favorite classics.
51. A book that you found underwhelming
"Normal People" by Sally Rooney. I hate this book. Both so fucking pretentious and yet boringly unreal. Like... what do people see in this book? Do they like it just because it’s a “sad” book? Like, I believe in “to each their own” but still...
52. A popular book/series you love.
The Grishaverse. Favorite series ever
62. A book with a forgettable plot but amazing characters
“Crier's War” by Nina Varela
76. A book with a golden/silver cover.
Would one consider "King of Scars" by Leigh Bardugo a gold cover? Yes.
88. A book that made you angry.
"Just So Stories" by whatever that dead racist is called. I was assigned to read it in school, and I was SO furious the entire time, it is so fucking racist, omg, please bombard this book with 1 star ratings because it has a 4.08 star rating on goodreads and like WHY? IT IS SO EVIL!
93. A book featuring an unreliable narrator.
I was about to say a certain Agatha Christie book, but I feel like that just spoils the murderer, so I'll say "We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart. Honestly it isn't a great book, I literally read it because I saw a page of it on pinterest and thought it was cool, but it was just... All right?
97. A book with a hospital setting.
The only book I know that has anything to do with hospitals is "The Fault in our Stars", but I would not recommend that.
104. A fluffy, sweet read.
I don't read much fluffy stuff outside of fanfiction, but let's see *searchs room* "Heartstopper" by Alice Oseman (tho there are serious topics in it)
114. Your favorite chick lit novel.
What does this mean.
Um, I'm just gonna say "One Last Stop" by Casey McQuiston. It's kind of like what Google says this genre is I guess?
122. Your favorite winter read.
This has nothing to do with winter, but I have reread it several times during winter so... "The Chosen" by Chaim Potak.
125. Your favorite autumn read.
Probably "Anne of Green Gables", I was raised on the Megan Follows movie (and the book itself of course), so...
126. Your favorite spring read.
Here's a childhood favorite that I for some reason usually only read in spring: "A Hidden Magic" by Vivian Vande Velde. It's a children's book, not that long, but it's amazing, and I love it!!

Just Let the Night Go Down
Just Let the Night Go Down https://ift.tt/mOrJZv7 by Mags (sparklepocalypse) As these things tend to, it starts with a Star Wars fanfiction rabbit hole. If pressed, Alex wouldn’t be able to identify what he’d searched for initially, but after landing on one story in particular, he’d hopped over to Google, and ten minutes later, had made a purchase on a potentially sketchy website, and then immediately forgotten about it.
