Last day and I told myself if I didn't get something in I would die. So, here it is. @glitterypirateduck
Military Aviation Pilot Ghost x his unofficial official partner. Cw: Wearing his dog tags, dog tags tugging, Ghost in sweatpants, kitchen sex, make-up sex (of sorts), Ghost with a head injury, messy proposal talks, a little spat. Look, I saw a cool jet gif and my life changed.
A mile high in hopes.

Simon stood outside the runway, watching people walk around along the tarmac and wave signals to the watch towers around. It was getting late, the evening glow had set in and the wrap up for the day crew was soon.
He stood by the wall with his gear and flicked his cigarette ashes down into the ground and smearing them with his boot.
The phone rang several times before he picked up, pressing it to his ear with a little smirk when he heard your voice. "Well well,"
"You in the air yet?"
"I'm answerin' m'phone love. No, I'm not up yet." He looked back at the ground, furrowing his brow and digging the toe of his boot back into the cigarette smudge, lifting the last of the thing to his lips.
"You'll make it home earlier tonight, won't you?" You were currently curled up on the couch, waiting on some dumb re-runs that you weren't terribly interested in. Food cooked away in the slow cooker on the counter, the aroma filling your small apartment with warmth.
"Yeah, yeah I'll be home." He looked up as one of the crew workers came over to him and motioned his finger in a circle.
"Gotta go love, they're putting me up."
"Simon, a little longer."
"Love, I'll be home in an hour or two, just wait up for me, all right?"
You shifted in the blanket and slumped your head back against the couch. You sighed a little and finally relented. "Ok, but I'm not saving you dinner if you aren't home by the time I get to it."
Simon exhaled the last drag of his cigarette and smirked. "Deal." He stamped out the last of the smoke and ended the call. Shouting ensued across the grounds as Simon got his helmet and his mask.
The crew around him did laps of his jet and unhooked the wheels. Simon climbed in and set the windshield down over him. "Here we go, pretty girl." He rubbed the interior over, admiring the blinking lights and the gauges coming to life with light.
He looked down across the crew as the jet was rolled out of the hangar and positioned on the runway. He flicked the necessary switches and looked down at the others around him. Control tower coming in through his head gear.
"Takin' the missus to the mile high club, Riley?"
Simon chuckled, a twinkle sparking in his eye. "Already have."
He started up the engine with the all clear and eased the throttle. The wheels rolled and he strapped on his breathing mask. Before long he was catching speed and pulling the jet up into the air.
"There we go." He smiled, keeping his gaze focused on the sky in front of him until he had the jet leveled out. The air against his wings shredded in splitting white streaks as he set off.
Once he was relaxed he looked around and out at the vast world below. He chuckled deeply and eased on the speed just a tad more.

You sat there, sipping your water as you watched the only thing that was on this late, those dumb soap operas. At the least it was somewhat entertaining.
The street was filled with the golden light of Christmas as the two main characters found themselves outside of a large Christmas tree. "It's beautiful!" She exclaimed, joy written on her face and the breathless wonder of her first Christmas.
You watched intently as the man looked at her with love, before kneeling down and opening a small box. Your silence continues as you rubbed his bare ring finger with concentration.
"Julia.. my dear, sweet love," He gently took her hand. "Will you marry me??"
Her eyes widened, and in a panic she-
The commercial break blasted through the room and your stupor was broken to quickly grab the remote and turn it down.
"Fuck." You grumbled and rubbed your forehead. You pushed the blanket aside and headed to the kitchen to check the slow cooker. You sighed softly and stared through the steamy lid, and then the timer over the dial. Your gaze lingered into your hands, flexing your fingers slightly and examining your nails, then your knuckles.
Your hands came to your chest and you rubbed the finger quietly. You wished he would propose already, it had been years, and you couldn't understand the hold up.
You reached back and fiddled with the chain on your neck, pulling out his dog tags. He had served before, part of him had wanted to start out in the Marines but after a flight crash left him with head trauma, that wasn't as acceptable anymore.
The clock ticked by slowly while you waited. The commercial break finished and the woman in the soap opera embraced her boyfriend-now-fiance, giggling and smiling brightly.

By the time Simon got home it was late. Once again. You were half asleep on the couch in front of your half eaten plate of rice and chicken.
Simon slowly opened the door and closed it behind him. He took off his bike helmet and set it down on the shelf. Unzipping his boots and sliding out of them.
Your eyelids fluttered down briefly. You lifted your head and looked over to the door as Simon came in. "Simon..?"
He tilted his head as he stepped into the darkness of the living room. "Hey sweetheart." He leaned down and kissed your cheek before walking down the hallway. You sat up and checked your phone, seeing how late it was.
You frowned and pushed aside your food. You leaned against the door frame in the bedroom and watched him undress. He slid off his jacket and tugged his sweat soaked shirt off his body.
He flexed and grabbed out his sweatpants from the closet.
"You're home late." You said.
Simon shifted and looked back at you through the mirror. "I know love, I'm sorry. I tried to call."
You slid your phone from your pocket, checking the call history. "You're lying, Simon."
You walked into the room as Simon pulled off his belt, flicking the loop with one hand and flicking it, tugging the belt out from around his waist.
"M'not lying."
You felt yourself start to deflate. Mentally you were done with him. "When are you going to get your head out of the clouds?"
Simon sighed as he slipped into his sweatpants and scratched his stomach. "I'm on the ground, aren't I?"
"That isn't what I meant."
Simon passed you and headed to the kitchen. "Simon, would you look at me!"
"What." He paused and looked at you. "I'm looking at you. What do you want?"
"I want you to stop lying to me."
"I'm not lying, I just forgot ok??"
"You always fucking forget! You forget to come home, you forget to talk to me, you won't even marry me so maybe we can set some things straight!"
Simon was quiet for a moment. He sighed and leaned against the sink, staring at the wall.
"Y'know it's going to be the same answer every time.." He muttered.
"I know, but I don't like that answer. I want to be able to help you, I want to get you medication and take care of you until we're old, but you won't fucking marry me!"
"Maybe because I'm not ready-"
"Then when will you be!?"
"I don't know!" He snapped.
Silence befell both of you. You stepped back and rubbed your hands as Simon went for a glass of water and his medication.
After he took the pills he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, ok? I'm just... I feel better when I'm up there."
You looked back up at him, your hands still nervously fidgeting. "So, you don't feel good, with me?"
"No, I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that at all. I love... You, I love hanging out with you. But I'm not in a good spot." He whispered a little.
"Then let me help you."
He swallowed thickly. "I can't..."
You shuffled over to him slowly. Simon watched you, his hand tightened on the edge of the sink. He leaned in closer, his other arm touching your hip. "M'gonna marry you.."
"You promise?"
He nodded, leaning down so his forehead touched yours. "I promise.. I'm gonna marry you." He rubbed his thumb against your hip.
You relaxed slightly and tilted your head up to capture his lips. Simon inhaled sharply and leaned toward you. Your hands wrapped around his neck and pulled him toward you.
"Make it up to me for coming home late."
He kissed you back and groaned softly into your mouth. He inhaled and slipped his tongue into your mouth, his hands roaming slowly to the hem of your shirt.
"I can do that..." He muttered through kisses. He back you up until you hit the counter. Your hands roamed across his neck, squeezing his pecs and groaning into the kisses.
Your tongues sloppily pressed together and tangled. He breathed in your scent and lifted your shirt up and tugged it up over your shoulders, breaking a trail of saliva to get it off.
You panted and kissed him again, your bodies colliding together and his hands moved back to unlatch your bra.
You groaned excitedly and leaned back to look into his eyes. "You know I love you?" He nodded breathlessly and ran his hand through your hair, tugging your head back gently and began to kiss your neck.
"Mmn, I love you too."
He grunted and tugged at your bottoms, yanking them down and leaving you in just your underwear.
"You're gorgeous.." He growled and leaned down, his tongue flicking out and licking over your collar bone.
You gasped and gripped his arms. You arched your back and ground into him, your hands roaming and grabbing at the muscles on his body.
He moaned softly and lifted you up onto the counter, spreading your legs apart and slipping his hands to the band of your underwear, slowly peeling them aside. You looked down, his forehead pressing against yours and his thumb pressed against your clit. You breathed out through your mouth and tangled your fingers in his hair. He hummed deeply and rubbing his thumb in firm circles over your clit while listening to your little gasps.
"Fuck…" He kissed your collar again and with his free hand he brought one of your breasts to his mouth. He swirled his tongue around the bud of your nipple and gave it a little tug. Fire sparked in your chest, the air in your lungs seemingly snatched from you before you could think.
Your hands squeezed his hair, and your hips jerked against his hand. He moaned and kissed the valley between your breasts. "Mm, good girl.." He murmured, and pulled his hand away to push down his sweatpants. His cock sprang free and he wrapped his arms around your thighs to pull you closer to the edge, and the tip of his cock brushed against your labia.
You panted softly and reached down, grasping the base of his cock and pushing him into your heat. "Oh- fuck." He groaned and his brows furrowed. "Wastin' no time…" He breathed out heavily and slid into your warm cunt. The thick warm walls contracted around his cock, welcoming him deeper. He stretched you out, his hand returning to your clit to continue pressure on it.
You gasped and rocked your hips, your legs wrapping around his waist. He panted and pressed his forehead against yours, starting a fast pace. His balls smacked against your ass, his tip bumped into your spongey core and your eyes rolled back into your head.
You cried out, the pleasure washing over you and gripping him closer. You never wanted to let him go. His smell washed over you and took you under like a massive wave you couldn't bring yourself to fight. It was like slowly drowning, losing everything so long as he had his arms around you.
"God.. oh god-" You moaned, his lips meeting yours for another kiss. "Simon.." You breathed, and he grunted, his hips thrust faster, his free hand reached up and wrapped around your throat. Your head tilted back and you gasped for air as his thumb and forefinger pressed into the columns under your jaw, making it harder to get oxygen. Your cunt started to drip soaking wet with each thrust. His cock sliding deep pelvis against pelvis, and the pull out. It barely gave your walls a moment before he was sliding back in at a forceful speed.
He watched the fluttering expression on your face and it made his stomach twist in the best way possible. His gaze zoned on your soft lips before gazing down at your cunt taking him so well.
"Simon-!" You choked. His hand shifted down your neck and wrapped the chain of his old dog tags around his knuckles to tug you closer.
"Mine." He groaned, and his thrusts got harder. The sound of wet squelches and skin against skin echoing in the apartment. Your legs tightened around his waist and you gasped as he hit your g-spot over and over. Your walls contracted around him and you let out a cry. Your back arched and you clenched up tightly, a rush of warmth flowing down from your belly.
"Fuck, fuck-!" You gasped and dug your nails into his back. Simon grimaced and tugged you closer. He pulled you off the counter and held you tightly in his arms, locking his arms around you.
You moaned loudly as you came. Feeling his body against you and his ragged breath against your face made your heart pound. He loved you. You shuddered and came hard on his cock, whining when he tugged you closer.
He fucked you through your orgasm, whispering sweet nothings against your ear. Your eyelids fluttered closed, and he kissed you roughly. Your tongue met his halfway. You panted against his lips, and his tongue licked yours, sucking on it.
His own orgasm was building, his balls tightening and his tip dripping precum. He held onto you, slowly shifting you along his cock until his grip relaxed, focused on kissing you. You desperately kissed him, inhaling his smell and chasing the butterflies that filled your stomach every time he gave your body attention. A feeling only his touch could reward you with.
Simon groaned against your mouth and slid his cock out of your cunt. You attempted to move away but Simon gently grabbed you again to keep you close. He caressed your hip and stroked his cock, cumming cross your abdomen.
You panted, looking up at him and then his hand working the last of his orgasm out. "Mm…" You leaned into his body, nuzzling his shoulder.
"Love you."
He panted softly and brushed some of your hair away to kiss your shoulder. "Love you too, sweetheart.."
He smiled tiredly, and looked around. "Let's go to bed."
He helped you and kissed the side of your face, walking to the bathroom to wash up. Using a warm wash cloth against your skin, and then following you to the bedroom. You both laid down and you curled up close to his chest. His arms wrapped around you and nuzzled the top of your head with a gentle kiss.
"I know I forget a lot now… But I promise that your needs and wants will not be."
That made tears start in your eyes. You curled up closer and squeezed him tightly. He smiled a little and rubbed your back. When he was ready, he would marry you. He didn't want to keep you waiting, he just needed some time, and the money. And he would make you Mrs. Riley.

You continued staring up at the ceiling recovering from the self-induced orgasm. Aftershocks made your legs twitch and tense, you wiggled them about to try and ease the sensation. Finally having the energy to roll over, your view changed from the ceiling to the wall, lined with your stuffed animals.
Childish maybe, but you always had a fond spot for them, never having been able to throw them away. Some were old, made of patchwork with faded colors – a reminder of your childhood. Others were newer, like the overstuffed pumpkin that Derek had won you for Halloween one year, or the small teddy bear Leon had given you, a present from one of his work trips.
Your eyes lingered on the squishy pumpkin, the memory of Derek giving it to you rushed to the forefront of your memory. It had been one of your favorite dates together, spontaneously deciding to stop by the boardwalk after dinner one evening. The scent of popcorn and cotton candy overpowered the smell of the ocean as you walked along the clackity wooden path. Halloween décor was tacked on to everything in sight, even the prizes were ghosts, pumpkins, and black cats.
“You look good like that.” He said, flashing a smile. You tugged on the brim of the cheap witch’s hat, trying to ensure the paper thin material wasn’t going to fly off in the wind. “You calling me a witch?” You gasped in mock offense. “‘Course not baby, I would never.“ He’d doubled over in laughter, spilling the soda on his favorite
band t-shirt. “Oh shit.” He shook the black fabric with one hand trying to get some of the excess liquid off. Slapping his arm playfully, you kissed his cheek. “That’s what you get for being a jerk.” “But I’m your jerk, right?” He raised a brow leaning down to return your affection for a kiss on the cheek. “Yeah, you’re my jerk.”
As the two of you made your way down more of the game booths something caught your eye – a huge fat pumpkin with a little spider attached to it. The thing was easily the size of your entire body, and you really wanted it. Coming to a dead stop, you tugged on Derek’s sleeve before pointing at it. “Make it up to me, win me that!” He froze for a second, a nervous laugh exiting his mouth. “I mean I can definitely try…”
The game runner ate it up, goading Derek to play. He explained it was simple, just toss it at an angle, get the ball into the bucket and boom – prize!
The first ball bounced off the plastic basket almost hitting a child in the face. The second ball followed the course of the first one. The third one impressively flew even farther, and Derek had to run to go get it. “Again.” He said determined, though the next round didn’t fare much better. By the fourth round, you weren’t able to contain your laughter anymore, which only served to egg him on. “Come on baby, I was only kidding. I don’t need it.” “I’m going to win it, just you watch.” “If you say so.” You leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. “I still believe in you, the millionth time’s the charm.”
You weren’t sure how many losses he’d suffered but you knew he’d coughed up nearly $200 and had nothing to show for it. It made your heart soar a little knowing he was willing and determined to get this for you.
Lo and behold the last time was the charm, he’d still missed the first two shots, but the third one landed in the basket and stayed there. The smallest of the three bells rang out indicating a win and the game runner clapped behind the counter. “Congratulations!” He shouted with an exaggerated tone before taking his long hooked stick out to yank a prize down.
It wasn’t the gigantic pumpkin, but it was just perfect in its own right. Medium sized and plump, you squished it to your chest in a hug before capturing Derek’s lips with your own. “It's perfect.”
“Mm, no you’re perfect.” He replied smoothly, wrapping an arm around you from behind as the pair of you made your way further down towards the rides. It had been getting later into the evening, things were dying down a bit. The Ferris wheel was still running and you decided to end the night on the ride together.
The city was beautiful, sparkling likes juxtaposed against the dark buildings and streets, stars twinkling above. You could see your apartment building, and the coffee shop Derek worked at down the way. Unconsciously you snuggled closer to him in your seat, leaning your head against his shoulder. The words had slipped out of his mouth so casually you’d almost missed it, so relaxed into the moment. “What was that?” You asked softly. “I said I love you.” He replied, petting your hair. It caused your heartbeat to speed up as you registered what he’d said. The air hung heavy with the confession.
“I love you too.”
A hollow and guilty feeling erupted in your chest and made its way down to your stomach at the memory. Post nut clarity was a wild thing – and now that your head was clear everything was starting to make sense.
Derek had been right, about everything. What did it say about you that hours ago you’d fought with him about your attachment to Leon, and now here you were getting yourself off to the very guy he was worried about. ‘I’m such an asshole.’
You squeezed the pumpkin close to yourself, taking in the still faded but lingering scent of Derek’s cologne. The urge to cry caused you to curl in on yourself for a moment, but you managed to suppress the tears behind a few sniffles. A soft breath escaped you, and you placed the pumpkin back on the shelf.
Before you rolled back over you glanced next to the pumpkin at the small teddy bear Leon had gifted you. It was black, about the size of your hand. He said he’d brought it back from Spain on his last work trip – something you had been meaning to ask him about more in depth but never got the chance. It was cute, and it meant a lot to you at the time, but now it made your heart ache. ‘Should I get rid of it maybe? It’s not like Leon would know.’
You reached over to grab the small stuffed animal, looking it over, running your fingers against the soft fur. Something caught your eye, a red light in the left eye. It was a faded light, and you could only see it at certain angles. ‘What the –?’ You inspected it more closely, but nothing else was obviously amiss.
‘Maybe the eyes were supposed to light up or something.’ You shrugged, putting the tiny bear back where it belonged, deciding you didn’t have the heart to toss it, hoping Derek just wouldn’t notice its existence.
Guilty and resolved to making things right, you mulled over what you’d say to Leon, to Derek. You didn’t want to abandon your friendship, but if that’s what it would take, you weren’t going to throw your relationship away – and maybe it would be better for your friendship if you weren’t so close.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Nervousness caused you to be jittery, bouncing on the balls of your feet as you stood outside his door. ‘You got this. Leon’s a good guy, he’ll understand. He’ll understand.’ You let out a deep sigh, hyping yourself up before knocking on his door.
The second your eyes met the endless blue of his, regret washed over you from head to toe. The way he leaned against the doorframe, you’d caught him after a workout again, shirtless a sheen of sweat coating his muscles. It was the first time you’d seen him completely shirtless and it was making your brain go haywire a bit.
Suddenly a palm was in your face, waving. “Hello, Earth to Ms. 306, you there?”
You were snapped back to the moment. “Sorry, I was spacing out for a moment.” “You don’t say.” He laughed, standing up straight. “Well you’re the one who knocked on my door. What’s up?” “About that. The other night with Derek I uh….” How exactly were you going to explain this? “I think it’s best if maybe you and I saw less of each other.”
Hurt washed over his features. “What? Did I do something wrong?” “No, it’s nothing like that.” “I’m just confused, the guy left you at the theater and –” “I know and that was shitty of him. He just seems to think you and I are too close, and I mean I get it. I can’t say I would be comfortable if he spent as much time with another girl as I do with you.” Averting your eyes, you stared down at your feet. “I’m sorry Leon. It’s just, I do love him and I want to try and work on things ya know? Like you’re a super awesome friend and if it were up to me I’d keep things the way they are but it makes him uncomfortable…so….”
“Of course. I understand completely.”
You swore there was a slightly strained sound to his voice, you didn’t push it though, happy that he was accepting of things. “Thank you Lee.” Like a coward, you scurried off the moment the conversation concluded.
Luckily Derek had been willing to talk things out and once you had mentioned breaking things off with Leon – if you could even call it that – his mood changed entirely. It  melted your heart to see the way his face lit up, to feel his arms around you. It affirmed in the moment you had made the right decision.
Things fell back into place like nothing had been wrong – except this time around everything was so much more smooth, a love rekindled. You found yourself talking for hours every night before bed time, laughing at dumb stories, falling asleep before the call ended.
Date nights were becoming a regular occurrence again too, walks in the park, midnight movies.
All in all things were great, but there was something you just couldn’t shake from the back of your mind. Every moment with Derek, every touch, kiss, conversation – it managed to abate your guilt for him, but all you could do was linger on the fact that something was just missing.
Obviously you knew the culprit – Leon.
Somehow, despite everything, you couldn’t shake him from your mind. You missed him terribly and he managed to invade your thoughts at the worst possible moments. Kissing Derek, you’d close your eyes and wonder what it would feel like if Leon had been on the other end.
Walking through the hallway of the battered building felt lonely without the conversations you would have and the laughter that entailed. Helping Mrs. Wilson hurt the most, having to tread to the pharmacy by foot made you miss Leon’s Jeep and the moments spent together. The few times you actually did bump into Leon or catch a glimpse of him, it hurt.
“This is ridiculous.” You said to yourself, pulling your knees to your chest, sitting on your bed. Derek had just dropped you back home after a date, and again the only person on your mind wasn’t the one it should be. “He’s just my neighbor, a friend.”
Letting out a sigh, you thought about the evening with Derek. He’d actually suggested moving in together now that things were getting better between the two of you. Of course you were hesitant at first, this apartment had a lot of sentimental value and leaving it behind meant taking on a new chapter of your life – it was scary. Thinking back on everything though, you were beginning to think it was a good idea.
Everything here was reminding you of someone you can’t – shouldn’t have. Leon had been too meshed within your daily routine, and you figured a change of scenery could help with that. You could still check in with Mrs. Wilson, but not have to be reminded of him every single day.
Resolved to your decision, you texted Derek to let him know. Not knowing why, you had the urge to tell Leon. You didn’t technically have to, and you knew that it wasn’t like you owed him an explanation – it just felt like the right thing to do.
Still too much of a coward to face him or call, you opted to text him instead.
‘Long time no talk. Hope ur well. :) ’
Locking the screen, you set the phone down on the nightstand, surprised when less than a minute later it buzzed with a reply.
‘Just dandy! :) U doin ok?’
‘Yeah!’
‘U sure? not like u to txt out of nowhere.’
‘just had some news i dunno.’
‘news? hope its good lol’
‘i think so… Derek asked me to move in with him.’
The three bubbles to indicate he was typing popped up for a mysteriously long amount of time, making you anxious. Finally they stopped, and you waited – nothing. Thirty minutes passed by before you finally received a response.
‘thats awesome! 👍’
Not sure how to reply, you simply didn’t. The expectation of relief after breaking the news didn’t come, but you pushed it aside. ‘Things are changing. You’ll be just fine once you’re out of here.’
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next time you saw Derek was about three days later – the two of you had a camping trip date planned for the weekend. With your duffel bag packed, you took the opportunity to walk  to his apartment, wanting to surprise him that morning.
The weather was perfectly temperate and it felt nice to have fresh air and sun on your skin, without freezing to death or sweating bullets. The sounds of the city set you at ease, familiar shops and people passing you by as you made your way.
The only odd thing was Derek hadn’t replied to your text. It was just a simple ‘Good Morning’ but it wasn’t like him to not respond. Thinking he was likely just busy getting ready or slept in late, you shrugged it off. This trip was the start of something new – plans to move upon returning – and you weren’t about to let anything stop you from making it positive. Even any thought of Leon was temporarily pushed to the back of your mind.
His apartment building was a lot nicer, and in a better part of the city. The ivory building came into view and you all but ran from the outside staircase up to the second floor where his home was. Sliding the spare key into the knob, you knew something was wrong immediately – the lights were off and the whole place just felt stale.
“Der?” You called out, flipping the living room light on. “You here?” No response came, you looked out the window to the parking lot and sure enough his car was there – no camping gear on top though.
Making your way further inside the apartment, you looked around for any sign of him. His keys were tossed on the stained coffee table where they always were. His shoes were by the front door. There was no immediate sign of exit or entry.
His bedroom door was closed though, something you knew was unusual – he always left it open even at bed time.
“Der?” You called again, gently cracking the door open. The room was dark, curtains drawn and no artificial light to be found. Your eyes had to adjust for a moment before you saw the lump of human form underneath the bed sheets, comforter having been discarded onto the floor. “Baby?” You gently shook him, turning the nightstand light on to the lowest setting. The sheets were moist and sweat soaked, his brows were knitted together in his unconscious state – like a nightmare. It took a few more forceful movements before he finally stirred, shooting up in the bed. “What the fuck!? Oh…oh my god baby I’m sorry. You scared the shit out of me.” He brought his hand over his heart as he caught his breath.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I wanted to surprise you but when I came in everything seemed off. Are you alright?” “Yeah, I just wasn’t feeling well. Guess I slept in.” “You’re soaking with sweat, are you sure you’re ok to go? We can just stay in if you’re not well.” “No baby, I’m fine. I promise.” He gave you a weak smile before kissing your cheek. “Just let me take a quick shower and pack up.”
“Okay, if you’re sure. I can start carrying the gear down to the car.” He did not look okay at all. His eyes seemed more sunken than usual, skin pale and clammy. Something beyond that just felt off - but he continued to insist everything was fine.
“Maybe just stop by urgent care real quick. I mean if you are sick maybe they could give you something for it that you can take on the trip?” “Baby, we’re halfway to the campsite. All I need is some fresh air and time with my girlfriend. I told you I feel fine.” “Alright…” You had to admit the campsite he picked was beautiful. This flat plane of grassy area set atop a hill, you could see the entire valley below including the river – the mountains and the sky were along the horizon too. It was beyond breathtaking and you could only imagine the view once the sun set and the stars began to twinkle unimpeded by the city lights. The little area was surrounded by a thick layer of trees, giving you plenty of privacy.
Awestruck by it all, the thought of Derek’s condition nearly dissipated entirely from your thoughts – he seemed to be getting better anyway, easily handling stretching out the tarp, and hammering the stakes into the ground for the tent base.
“At least one of us is useful.” You teased, nearly getting tangled in the plastic and wiring of the tent. Attempting to bend one of the thin metal sticks down to loop into another section, it flung back whipping you in the face instead. “Fuck, ouch.” A nice thin slice of blood trickled down the stinging red mark on your face. You covered that side of your face with your sleeve. “Can you grab me the first aid kit?”
There was no response to your request, heavy silence ringing out into the air. “Babe?” Using your good eye you looked over to where he was working on the base, he stood staring at you. “Derek? Hello?” Something about it unsettled you in a way you couldn’t describe, like a 6th sense. “This isn’t funny.” His eyes seemed darker, and his body movement frozen as he gripped the hammer in his hand, tightly. “You’re starting to scare me!”
Snapping out of it, he shook his head before smiling, posture instantly relaxing. “What are you talking about – oh my god are you okay?” He ran over to inspect you and you noted his skin felt weird and cold against your own, not like the usual wet heat you’d experience with a fever. You weren’t sure what to make of it at all, but concern grew within you. “What was that all about?” “What are you talking about?” He replied, dabbing gently at your face with the alcohol pad. A hiss left your lips at the stinging sensation.
“You just stood there staring at me, totally spaced out.” “I don’t remember that at all.” “Derek, are you sure you’re okay? Like really okay?” “Are you going to keep asking me that this entire trip?” “No, I just….” “Look, let’s finish getting set up for the night, I promise you’ll feel better once we’re settled in.” Another quick kiss and he grabbed the part of the tent you’d been fumbling with to finish putting it together. Not wanting to be near him at the moment, you chose to take his advice, stringing up the solar-fairy lights around the trees and moving to get the campfire spot set up.
“All done?” “All done!” He said giving you a high five. “Looks great babe, the lights are really cute. I can't wait to see them tonight.” “Me either.” You replied, kissing him – the cold clammy feeling still there.
There were still a few hours left in the day before sundown, so you opted to explore along the trail for a while. Derek seemed okay initially, his breaks were paced out in a way that made sense. As the day turned to late afternoon though, his breathing seemed to be more labored, breaks became more and more frequent.
You wanted to say something badly, but knowing he’d blow you off you kept it to yourself hoping it was just a cold or something.
By early evening, he was looking rough, red veins in his eyes accentuated by deep purple bags, shivers running through him despite the air having become more humid. His bouts of spacing out became more frequent too – randomly staring off into space nodding as if he was in agreement with some invisible thing.
The worst was when he’d disappeared for 30 minutes on a piss break. You’d found him face first against the tree, urine on his shoes, cock still in hand. Even the sound of your voice didn’t stir him from the spot – nor did shaking his shoulder.
It was another 5 minutes before he snapped out of it this time, smiling at you? “How’s your eye feeling?” Was all he asked as he zipped himself up.
A fear stitched itself together within you and more and more you were working on ways to get out of here – to get him some help because something was not right and it definitely wasn’t a cold. This was beyond your comprehension or ability to assist with.
As night began to shadow the area, the two of you made it back to your campsite. The lights you'd hung glistened against the backdrop of the dark woods giving you enough light to set up the fire. Insisting on it, you tucked Derek beneath a thick blanket on the camping chair and begged him to rest.
You considered calling 911, but the thought of all the lights and sirens worried you that it might spook the clearly ill man or provoke him. What you really needed at the moment was advice because you frankly didn’t know what to do, but you were scared.
“Here, drink this.” You said handing him the thermos of now heated soup. “Just try to rest for a bit.” You kissed his forehead. He was getting worse now, feeling like he had been dipped in an ice bath, you never knew a human could get so cold. You swear his veins were getting darker too, at least the ones around his neck – but it could’ve just been the low lighting. “I have to go to the little girl’s tree, I’ll be back.” You assured him, walking until you hoped you were out of earshot. Your phone was gripped tightly in your hand as you paced trying to figure out the best course of action. ‘Can 911 even make it out here? Do people really call 911 over a sick person?’
“Fuck, I don’t know what to do.” Unlocking your phone, you squinted, eyes adjusting to the overwhelming brightness of the screen in the dark area. “Who would?” You scrolled through your contacts list at least 5 times – only one name ringing in your head. “I mean he works for the government – not that I know what he does exactly … but maybe?”
The phone rang with a crackling sound indicating the poor connection from the wilderness – relief flooded over you as the other end of the line picked up. “Leon, thank god. I know this is wildly inappropriate given everything but I need –” Before you even finished you realized he couldn’t hear you. The staticky noise picking up, his voice echoing in and out sounding robotic. The line disconnected on it’s own and the top corner read ‘no signal.’ “Fuck!” You kicked the trunk of the tree in front of you.
“Babe?” The sound of Derek’s voice brought you back, it sounded so weak and hoarse. “I’ll be right there.” You yelled back. “Babe?” He called again. “Babe I’m scared.”
The words made you shiver, the hair on your neck raised – it sounded like Derek, but not at the same time. You still forced that feeling aside and marched back to camp, legs feeling like sand bags as you made them move against your own will.
“What’s wrong –”
You stopped just behind the tent, he was standing there facing you, the fire illuminating his skin. “Babe, I’m scared.” He repeated again, though his face held no emotion – completely expressionless. Dark black vein made spiderwebs along his skin, running from his arms up onto his face. His irises looked black, red blood vessels in both eyes popped making him look like a demon. The corners of his mouth had blood dried to them.
He coughed into his hand, more blood coming out. “Help me.” He reached a hand out towards you. Instinctively, you stepped back away from him. “Help me.” He repeated again stepping forward directly into the campfire – unphased by the flames that were licking away at his clothing, his skin. For each step he took forward, you took one back, legs shaking as silent tears spilled. A visceral fear like you’d never experience before sent shockwaves throughout your entire body.
He brought two burning hands to his head, the flames catching at his hair while he continued to stumble forward at an uneven pace. “My head. It’s splitting my head.” His voice became warbled as he spoke, like his tongue was suddenly too big for his mouth. “You’re scaring me….” You managed to squeak out, barely above a whisper.
“IT’S SPLITTING MY HEAD!” He shouted this time, head twisting to the side the sound of his neck cracking. His features began to warp, nose pulling to the left, mouth twisting, eyes swirling as the flesh tore and split apart – the sound of wet tearing making you feel ill.
A small worm-like thing poked out of the top of his head, before it darted out, growing and growing in size. A second later his head finally tore an explosion of tentacles waving around in the air, like purple blood worms dancing above the neck of his burning body. His features, the ones you knew so well were twisted amongst the new flesh.
The now sideways mouth opened into a hiss, long tongue slithering out like a snake. Warm urine trickled down your leg against your will, fear paralyzing any movement or rational thought. There was no comprehension of what was in front of you.
Despite the flames melting the flesh of the body, it didn’t seem like it was going to stop anytime soon. A tentacle whipped itself forward, slapping against the tree above you, nearly hitting you. The slimy slapping sound was enough to get your legs moving, despite how wobbly they were.
You took off into the dark of the woods, leaves crunching beneath you. Shadows danced around your vision in the moonlight that only casted down between the canopy of the trees. The yellow light behind you mixed with the gargling and fleshy noises told you the creature was behind you in pursuit. Branches and bushes whipped your skin leaving you with cuts and welts you couldn’t feel through the adrenaline – path lost you just went as long as you could.
You saw the opening to the camp parking lot, the low streetlamps like a guiding star. “Help!” You shouted, waving an arm as you ran. “God help me!” You screamed again hoping someone would hear you. In your haze you hadn’t noticed the overgrown root curled out of the ground, it caught your ankle right before you made it to the cement of the parking lot.
Your face hit the yellow barrier of the closest spot, a crunching pop against your nose, iron infecting your sense of smell. When the stars stopped buzzing around your head, you looked down to see your ankle still caught under the root, twisted and purple – bone sticking out through the side.
The hissing sound told you the creature wasn’t far behind, the tips of the tentacles appearing just within your now hazed vision. Coughing on the blood that spilled into the back of your throat via your likely now broken nose, you tried to crawl backwards, but couldn’t the pain in your ankle too great. The creature was right above you now, drool and slime dripping down onto your face as they wriggled around. Closing your eyes to brace a loud explosion sound rung out, all parts of your face and exposed skin suddenly covered in sticky and warm liquid. Cracking an eye open, you saw the body of the creature as it hit the ground.
Looking down at yourself, you were wearing blood and teeth and other viscera that had splattered against you. Your hand shakily reached into your tank top feeling at the squishy thing that landed in your bra.
Bile worked its way out of you upon discovering the eyeball in your hand, tossing it before losing the rest of your stomach contents out onto the open ground. In too much shock and shaking, your vision went black as you slipped into unconsciousness.
~~~~~~~~~
Head reeling you refused to open your eyes, purposefully scrunching them shut against the invading sunlight. You felt like you’d been hit by a bus, every part of you was either sore or stung. As your brain slowly started coming to, the first thing you realized was the smell – out of place but familiar. That spicy and intense cologne – Leon?
‘But why would Leon be in your tent?’ The image of the blonde appeared in your mind making you giggle a moment. Then it occurred to you, you were fully conscious. Confused you opened one eye and then the other, wincing as they adjusted to the light.
It wasn’t your tent. It wasn’t even your apartment. You sat up as quickly as your mangled body would allow, heart rate picking up again. “Hey there, you’re finally awake.” Snapping to the door you saw him there, a look of concern on his face. “Leon?” “In the flesh.” He said softly making his way over to you, sitting on the side of the bed. “Where am I?” “In my apartment. How are you feeling?” “What happened?” “I was hoping you could tell me that. You called me frantic, when I finally found you, you were hurt and completely out of it. Had to pull some connections to make sure the hospital would even let me take you home.” “What? Where’s Derek?” “Who are you talking about sweetheart?” “Derek? My boyfriend, he and I were camping and he had a cold and then he turned into a monster and…and…” “Shhhh.” He soothed, rubbing your back. “Hey, its okay, you’re safe now there’s no monsters. You’re okay, I’m here.” He adjusted himself so he could pull you closer into him encompassing you with his warmth and frame.
The weight of his arms around you and the sound of his voice soothed you frantic mumbling as you sobbed into his chest, wetting the cotton fabric with snot and tears. He paid no mind, not letting up on the affection until it died down into sniffles and hiccups. You clung to him like a koala to a tree, desperate to feel better in some way, so overwhelmed with everything.
Sleep quickly overtook you again, sleeping into dreamless unconsciousness against his form.
Juicy enjoyed spending time with his boys, a lot. They were the best of friends, after all. But he also really enjoyed spending time with both them and you.
You've known Mr. Mully since you were young. You didn’t know the rest of his friends super well, but you took a liking to Juicy. You and Juicy weren't tight or anything, but you were friends nonetheless.
Tonight, you were exploring a haunted asylum with The Boys and Sam and Colby. You tagged along, wanting to experience some paranormal shit because why not. You’d binge-watched all of The Boys’ previous videos at haunted places and wanted to get a slice for yourself.
The group of you plus the camera people sit on the floor around one of the REM pods, with Sam acting as the communication between worlds. The blonde had sound-proof headphones on, connected to the spirit box in his hand, and a bandana wrapped around his eyes for proof that he couldn't see nor hear anything you guys were saying to the ghosts.
You sat next to Juicy in the corner, being the only person, other than Mully, you really knew out of these people. You intently listen as the guys hold a full conversation with whatever spirit/s were in the room for a solid hour or so, watching as they all freak out after receiving creepy replies or ones referencing their names.
You and Juicy would often share looks or glances, usually scared, confused, or curious.
After that, you split up into two teams to complete challenges around the building. You were with Colby, Mully, and Eddie, while Sam hosted the opposite group with Josh, Juicy, and Narrator.
"We're team Demon"
"We're gonna catch a big demon"
"Yeah, we got big D"
"We're team C(y/f/i)EM." Eddie nods, "C-(y/f/i)-E-M"
"Stop stalling"
"Fuck"
The four of you head over to the men's infirmary, Eddie, with the camera around his neck. Last time The Boys were here, they went down the dark, scary, main hallway with only the flash of their phone cameras. You go all the way down the hall, and all the way back, your only source of light being the camera flashing for a split second.
You and Dos, as the three were heading back, were moving around as the camera flashed to mock a spirit. The boys were laughing about it, still scared a spirit would jump out and attack them. Once they got back and looked over the pictures, they didn't find anything and considered it a mission complete. You, however, wanted to go down by yourself as you'd been hearing whispers almost the whole time you'd been in this area.
You couldn't tell if it was you hallucinating from exhaustion or if you were actually hearing things, but you wanted to see what it was as curiosity always got the best of you. You graciously take the camera from Eddie and line yourself up at the start of the hallway, the boys turning off their flashlights for you.
"Dude, you're acting like a horror movie character" Colby comments with a chuckle, "This is the dumbest shit ever"
"Says you," you whisper, making your first few steps down the hallway.
You can whispering belonging to Eddie behind you, but also some other, unintelligible whispering sounds that definitely didn't belong to one of the guys, nor was it even behind you. It sounded like it was more in front of you if anything.
You squint in the dark, then take a picture, using the flash to illuminate your way forward. You look into the doors on each side of you after progression another couple steps, unable to see, though. You're just trying to find where all that whispering was coming from. It was like someone was moving through the rooms to lead you down the hallway.
You continue, taking pictures every handful of steps so as not to walk into something and know where you were.
"You okay?" Mully calls, your silence giving him a weird feeling in his stomach.
"Yeah" You reply quietly, taking another few steps forward. "I hear whispering. Like, it's not stopping. I wanna find it" You mumble.
"I swear to God, if you go missing, we are not liable!" Eddie exclaims, "Why the fuck are you investigating?"
"I'm curious!"
"Curiosity always kills the cat, but okay" Mully chuckles.
You make your way to the end of the hall, whispering as loud as it possibly could be, like it was directly in your ears. You feel a shiver trail down your spine, and a wave of cold, like the feeling after just opening the freezer, hit you out of nowhere.
"Holy shit!" You exclaim, quickly stepping back while taking a photo, "Uh-uh, nope! Pussying out now, bye-bye!"
"What happened?"
"Are you okay?"
"Dude, what happened?"
You quickly run back down the hallway, not bothering to use the camera flash as they turned their flashlights back on after hearing you yelp and your footsteps running back to them. You quickly hand the camera back, the uneasy cold feeling not having left you at all.
"Holy shit, what the fuck?" You speak, catching your breath as you lean against the door, looking down the hallway. "Dude, I got to like, the end of the hallway and the whispering I was talking about, it was like, in my ears. Then I felt like that kind of cold feeling like when you open a freezer up, like how it just hits you and sometimes gives you goosebumps instantly. I swear I felt like an actual force on my shoulders, I can't even make this shit up"
"Bro, what the hell?"
"You're kidding"
"No way"
"Dude, I can not be more serious right now." You nervously smile, shaking your head. "That's one of the freakiest things I've ever experienced. Like, I'm genuinley scared now, I've never been this fucking, like, paranoid over something like this"
"Nah, I'm getting the fuck outta here" Eddie shakes his head, reaching for the door as you move out of the way for him. Mully quickly follows in agreement, as both of them wanted to go home the most out of all of you.
Dos follows them as they shout for you and Colby, trying to jog away and go find the others in the main building.
You and the leather wearing brunette walk side by side in silence, following the trio in front of you fairly closely. You stand in a circle, waiting for a text back from Juicy as to where they were, not wanting to walk around the whole building in search of them. He quickly makes his way down to you guys, deciding to lead you all back up to where they were located.
Mully and Eddie strike up a conversation while Colby listens, standing next to you, who's staring down at his feet and the grass. You were mostly trying to make sense of what you felt in the men's infirmary, feeling confused and shocked, as that's the most paranormal action you'd ever felt for yourself. Juicy arrives, picking up on your nervousness in silence, yet decides to not point it out while he talks to Eddie, Mully and Colby before you all walk up a million flights of stairs.
Juicy, unknowing to you, was staring at you again. He'd been doing it all night. You were the only person oblivious to it, however. Eddie and Mully quickly catch onto his attracted gazes towards you, though staying silent as they'd definitely be joking about it soon enough to the others. They were talking about it with Colby once you were far enough away, trying to get more people to help with the job of wingman-ing. The brunette quickly notices he's staring and that the others have caught on, and quickly joins in on the conversation, wanting to try and hide the fact he was doing it again.
From sitting criss-cross-applesauce on the floor earlier, back to even at lunch outings earlier this week, he’s been doing it for a while. He’s a little surprised you haven't noticed, or at least brought it up.
He was so clearly head over heels it wasn't even funny anymore. He was downright in love.
You look back up and then behind you, looking around just to take in your surroundings again. You listen to their conversation, rocking on your heels. Juicy's mind races a million miles a minute, mind cluttered by you, the conversation at hand, and the video being recorded tonight.
On the walk up to Sam's group, or Group Demon, you're the first to walk up the stairs, leading the other boys towards them. You were good at following directions, leaving Juicy to talk to his friends behind you. Juicy and Mully walk up side by side behind Dos and Eddie, a light conversation between them before Mully shakes it up.
"What's with you and Y/n? You got a crush on them or something?"
Juicy, flustered and a bit embarrassed, quickly shakes his head no. "No, no, not at all. What? Why? They’re your friend"
Mully rolls his eyes and Eddie quickly shouts back. "Yes you do! Stop lying to yourself!"
Mully nods, “They’re your friend to, y’know”
You clearly had no idea what any of them were talking about, still leading them onwards.
"Shut up!" Juicy whisper-shouts.
After finding Sam, Josh, and Narrator, you walk into the church and sit down on the wooden benches. Eddie stands at the podium, a large cross behind him. You sit next to Juicy on the right side of the room with the other members of The Boys. Colby and Sam sit together on the left side of the room.
Eddie recites a prayer in Spanish before speaking. "Tonight we party"
The room explodes into boyish cheers and laughter, all of you standing up. Eddie laughs before speaking again.
He shouts, "Sit down!"
You all go quiet and sit down.
"Fuck God!" You exclaim.
"Yeah, screw Jesus!" Juicy shouts
"God can suck my balls" Josh comments with a shrug.
"Oh my God, you're swearing in the house of the Lord!" Colby dramatically gasps
Eddie quickly recites another prayer, asking for the forgiveness of your sins. The REM Pod in the bench in front of you begins beeping, signaling some motion.
"Oh fuck no, bye guys!" Eddie quickly speaks, running back to sit next to Juicy.
"Bro, Mully, sit up" Josh laughs, watching you walk up to the podium after agreeing with the others to have a mini main character priest moment. "Sit up, dude. Service is commencing"
Mully groans. "What?"
"Sit up!"
He groans again as he sits up, no longer laying on the front bench. Josh and Narrator both mock his groan, playfully shouting at him as you clear your throat.
"Good morning everyone! It's..." You look to Juicy as he had his phone on him, which you knew.
"4:25"
"It's 4:25 in the morning. Early service today" You chuckle, "Coffee is right over there" You point to the side where a few trashed cans of energy drinks lay on the floor.
"How much do you dare me to drink it?" Juicy asks you.
"You blink for a moment. "You're gonna get AIDS if you even touch it, but be my guest, man"
They laugh, chanting Pope Y/n as it echoes off the walls.
"Today, my friends, we confront Juicyfruitsnacks and his undeniable crush on Y/n" Eddie laughs, looking over at the brunette next to him.
"Yo, what?"
"Huh?"
"Oooo his ass got caught!"
"You can't hear it but I'm cackling right now"
Eddie quickly pulls Juicy up to the podium with you, pushing you to the side. He stands at the podium with the younger brunette in front of you/to your side, as you both stand confused.
Eddie nearly raps as he speaks. "Today we are bringing this lovely couple together to wed in holy matrimony. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, bless, preserve and keep you; the Lord mercifully grant you the riches of his grace, that you may please him both in body and soul, and, living together in faith and love, may receive the blessings of eternal life. Amen. Juicy, Y/n, would you like to read your vows?"
The Boys laugh as you and Juicy share a smile and laugh as well.
"Since when were we getting married?" You question
"Since I had to become a wingman" Eddie shrugs as he replies. "So did they. Mostly Mully." He points towards the crowd of boys watching.
"What is happening right now?" You awkwardly laugh.
Juicy laughs as well, "I mean, he isn't lying"
The room is now silent.
"Wait, what?"
"Can I take you out sometime?"
You glance over at Eddie and then the boys, then look back at Juicy.
"Uh, sure"
The others explode into cheers you'd probably be able to hear outside, and the older brunette quickly wraps the both of you in a hug.
"Dude, too much has happened tonight, I got creeped on by a ghost and now I have to mentally prepare myself for a date"
"You love me!"
"Love is a strong word"
"They're already having couple-fights!"
"Eddie, I swear to God"
"No swearing in the house of the Lord!"
Danny and the Spooks
So first things first, my initial idea is that this prompt takes place in a no one knows AU, and Danny somehow gets his ice powers earlier than he otherwise would, though really this could work without those two if need be.
So Danny got his ice powers pretty early in his ghost fighting career, and because he doesn’t have the support from his friends or raw power he would gather up later on he relies far more on Fenton tech to get by. That reliance on weapons means that, upon realizing that his ghost ice 1) doesn’t melt and 2) is Ghost Ice, and therefore can’t really be phased through by most ghost that arn’t him, immediately begins thinking of ways to make long term weapons out of the stuff.
A little while into his experiments with that he’s fighting Skulker and gets thrown into the house of some poor civilian, and while taking cover behind the kitchen counter looks over to see the (slightly disgruntled) homeowner doing the same while holding a 12 gauge.
“You think you can land a shot with that thing?”
“You think it’ll matter if I can?”
To which Danny replies something along the lines of “it will with this” before handing over his latest creation, a 12 gauge slug that’s had some of the material removed and replaced with his ice. Danny distracts Skulker, and his new friend pops up and puts a hole through the spine of Skulkers suit, allowing Danny to capture him. Danny thanks Mr. Civilian, who is apparently a retired Navy Seal or something, and they wind up staying in contact with each other, sometimes helping each other out with stuff and Mr. Seal testing out new weapons for Danny. Then some punk kid(yes a punk kid, doesn’t matter that he’s older than Danny, Danny still refers to him as a punk kid) decided that he wants to help defend the town and starts following Danny around, trying to help him in fights, and just refuses to stop putting himself in danger. Eventually Danny “relents” and says that he’ll let the kid help out, but only after he gets proper training from Mr. Seal, with the real plan being for the training to be way to intense for the kid to make him give up.
One problem though, the kid just doesn’t give up. Like, at all. One day Mr. Seal pulls Danny aside and tells him that Punk has finished his training and Danny gets all exited that the kid finally gave up, only for his bubble to be burst. “No no, he hasn’t given up, he just finished my training. He’s ready for combat.” And well, a deals a deal. So both Punk and Mr. Seal start taking more of an active roll in ghost fighting.
And then another idiot with more selflessness than sense shows up. And another. And, whoops three more just showed up. Eventually, Danny wound up as the accidental leader of a vigilante/ghost fighting organization dubbed the spooks by the local news. Comprised mostly of volunteers, with the best and brightest getting a rank all their own and proper pay, comprised of donations from both normal people and members and “donations” from criminals they stop because it’s not like they need the money now that they’re in prison.
I’m just imagining Danny with this rag tag group of humans doing what they can to help people.
After Danny finally manages to get some time with his friends for a movie marathon, he decides to form a new branch of the group called the R.I.P.D., the Rest In Peace Department, which is basically meant to help ghost fulfill their Obsessions and stuff in a safe, peaceful manner.
Boxy gets a abandoned warehouse full of boxes that’s been covered and insulative materials to keep ghost hunters from tracking him there.
Lunch Lady gets a great big soup kitchen which promptly morphs into a whole ass shelter for anyone and everyone that needs it so long as they’re okay with having Lunch Lady seemingly appear out of nowhere worrying about how skinny they look and shoving food into their arms.
They also have an absurd number of homemade gadgets and weapons. Think like, the entirety of the slingshot channel, ZnA productions, hacksmith and all those other types of channels combined, but their arsenal is hopped up on ghostly BS, as well as stealing equipment from Vlad and the GIW.
Skulker: I WILL MOUNT YOUR PELT ON MY WALL GHOSTCHILD
Fredrick “Dakka” Stevenson, flying the ancient crop-duster they got from old man Elijah and strapped every weapon they could to: I’m gonna do what’s called a pro gamer move.
Every other spooks member on the coms: groans
Dakka: if you want me to stop making lame meme references stop using a lame meme reference as my nickname.
You awoke slowly, not opening your eyes just yet—still trying to cling to the wisps of a dream. Even now it was slipping from your memory, but the feelings remained. It had been a happy dream. It left you feeling light.
There was a comfortable warmth along the front of your body that moved rhythmically. Breathing. Your mind went to Cirrus—you’d fallen asleep on her. You could feel an arm around your waist, holding you close, and legs entwined with yours. She was still wearing her boots—you’d never understood how they all seemed to be able to sleep in their uniforms. Cirrus had reassured you that they were exceptionally comfy when you had brought it up the first time you had fallen asleep in the ghoul quarters. You hadn’t wanted to leave them feeling trapped in their uniforms, especially in their own area, but Cirrus had brushed it off.
Soft puffs of warm air kissed your hair, and you smiled. It was comfortable—the ghouls had really become your lifeline. Not that you didn’t have other friends in the clergy, but you felt more at home with them, like you were a part of their family. Crazy, that you were closer to literal demons than you were to humans.
After a few more moments of enjoying the warmth and comfort, you decided that it was probably time for you to get up, although you loathed the thought of leaving the ghoulette’s arms. But staying here was risking the wrath of Sister Imperator, especially since you had a meeting with her today regarding the upcoming tour.
You reluctantly opened your eyes, blinking against the soft darkness of the room. You peered over the shoulder that your head was resting on, taking in the room.
Rain and Swiss were sprawled out on the floor still, the water ghoul using Swiss’s stomach as a pillow while Mountain was stretched out beside them. Aurora was draped across the couch beside you, Cirrus curled around her with Cumulus beside her. Phantom was—
Wait.
Your eyes darted back to Cirrus. Cirrus, who was further down on the same couch as you and the ghoulettes. Cirrus, who most definitely did not have you wrapped in her arms.
Confusion rushed through your foggy, half asleep mind as you wondered who you had been sleeping on. Then it clicked, and you felt the colour drain from your face as you did the math. There was only one ghoul who was unaccounted for. One ghoul who gave off heat and smelled like a mixture of ash and smoke.
Unholy Satan.
You were suddenly very awake, forcing yourself to remain as still as possible. Your eyes slowly traced the shoulder, your head tilting to get a glimpse at the white horns piercing through the helmet.
Oh. Oh.
One of your hands was wrapped around his back, the other resting between yours and his chest. Your legs were tangled. His arm was around your waist, gripping your hip, while the other was caught between your side and the couch, his hand resting on your shoulder blade. Right behind you was the arm rest, essentially boxing you in.
Sure, you’d woken up to strange positions before—one time you’d fallen asleep by yourself on one of the couches only to be woken in the middle of a ghoul pile on the floor, lying across Swiss and Phantom. Other times you’d woken up finding it hard to breathe, because Phantom had sprawled across your chest, his helmet digging into your stomach.
But you’d never woken up this close to Dewdrop.
Warmth was pooling in your stomach and blooming across your cheeks. Had he moved over here or had you moved onto him? You remembered falling asleep with Cirrus but how had you wound up in Dewdrop’s arms? And how, exactly, were you going to get out without waking him?
You shifted slightly, slowly manoeuvring a leg away from his, trying not to wake the ghoul. You got one leg out, but the other one was trapped between both of his. You slowly drew it out, listening carefully for any change in his even breaths. When your foot got caught on the top of his boot you cringed, but luckily you managed to slide it away without the ghoul stirring.
Okay, your legs were free. All you needed now was to get out of his arms. This was the hard part.
You sent a quick glance around the room again, your eyes meeting Cirrus, who seemed to have just woken up. She was watching you, an amused smile visible under her mask as she registered your predicament.
Was this you? You mouthed at her. She shook her head.
Then how the fuck?
Cirrus shrugged. You rolled your eyes, shooting her an ‘any help?’ look. Her shoulders shook as she laughed silently, mouthing back a no.
Friends were so very useful in times of need.
Maybe you should just wake Dewdrop up, ask him to move so you could get up and get going. Meetings with Sister Imperator were important, and surely you could act nonchalant about this whole thing? You’d had to wake up Rain and Aurora before so you could get up, and it wasn’t a problem. So why didn’t you do the same for Dewdrop?
Because you didn’t feel the same with Dew. This was completely different and you did not trust yourself to stay composed with him holding you like this. And it was plain embarrassing. But that meant you’d have to pull his hands off you.
Satan, this was mortifying.
You rested your head against his shoulder, feeling the warmth through his clothing. A part of you wanted to remain in his arms and forget about the meeting. But unfortunately, your fear of Sister’s wrath won out.
You withdrew your arm from his back, reaching over to where his hand was on your hip, hovering for a moment as you hesitated. Reminding yourself of Sister Imperator’s stern voice, you placed your hand on top of his. You tried not to think of how many times you had stared at his hands, how many times you had pictured them laced with your own, or gripping your body.
Slowly, you slipped your fingers underneath his, inching his hand off of your hip. You guided his hand to rest on his leg, holding your breath. You let out a relieved sigh shooting Cirrus a thumbs up. She tilted her head in response.
Bracing your arm against the sliver of couch between the two of you, you began lifting yourself up, sliding your feet to the floor. You were almost standing when a hand pulled you back down.
“What the fuck.” You whisper yelled as you landed on the ghoul.
Your arms caught Dewdrop’s as you landed on top of him, his arms bracing you from fully falling into him. Your face was right in front of his mask, your eyes looking straight into his goggles. Your heart raced, partially from the fright and partially from how you had landed on a—very much awake—Dew.
Your chest was flush with his, his hands holding your wrists and supporting your weight. If he hadn’t, you would have crashed your head straight into his helmet. Although, a concussion sounded pretty good right now.
Something that sounded very much like a snicker came from beside you. You were going to kill Cirrus. Had Dew been awake this whole damn time?
“Where do you think you’re going?” He asked simply, tilting his head. You swore you could almost glimpse the gleam of his eyes within the goggles.
“I have a meeting.” You replied surprisingly evenly, although it was definitely spoken a little too quickly to be casual. But then again, you would still be startled even if it wasn’t the ghoul that you were crushing on.
Dew huffed, twisting his grip on you so you slid sideways off him and back onto the couch, this time on his other side. Landing on your side with your back to him, you had a barely a moment before his arms wrapped around your waist from behind, pulling you into him. He leaned his chin on your shoulder, as your wide eyes caught on to Cirrus and Aurora, who were both sitting up now and watching you. Aurora’s mouth was open in a little ‘o’ that had you blushing furiously.
Cirrus was not going to stop teasing you about this for weeks.
“Dew,” you said exasperatedly, “I need to go now.” You tugged at his arms but he just clung on to you tighter.
“No.” His breath was warm on your ear—everything about him was comfortably warm. It was unfair, honestly. Wait, did he just say ‘no’?
“No, not ‘no’. Let me go you little gremlin.” He snorted at that, not letting go even as you tried twisting out of his grip. What had gotten into this damn fire ghoul?
Ceasing your fruitless efforts to escape, Dew hummed contentedly, thinking you had given up. You crossed your arms, scowling at Cirrus when she stuck her tongue out at you.
“Fine, you can explain to Sister Imperator why I missed her meeting.” At that, Dew tensed up. You knew he’d gotten into trouble with the Sister multiple times, and with her harsh demeanour and even harsher punishments, Dewdrop wasn’t keen on getting into more trouble with her.
“She’s got you there Dewdrop,” Cirrus said sweetly. She pointed at you, mouthing later. You flipped her off. Of course she couldn’t wait to tease you about this.
The fire ghoul growled lowly, bumping his head against the side of yours before reluctantly letting go of your waist. You closed your eyes in relief—maybe your heart would finally have a chance to slow down soon.
You climbed off the couch, avoiding looking at Dew as you flapped a small wave at Cirrus and Aurora. You stepped around Rain and Swiss, hopping over Mountain’s arm. As you reached the door, you couldn’t help yourself.
You glanced back at Dewdrop. The fire ghoul was still sitting on the couch, one leg pulled up on the couch, the other stretched out. He raised a hand to his masked mouth, blowing you a kiss that turned into flipping you off. You snapped back around, hurrying through the door.
That fucking fire ghoul would be the death of you.
down on skid row
you’ve been seeing Eddie for a while. he likes taking you to the movies.
Tumblr media
Contains: Eddie x Reader, meet-cute in the breakfast aisle, Eddie’s got a penchant for drive-in movie dates & convenience store munchies. No use of y/n, no description of reader’s appearance. Leans fem!reader, but can be read as GN, I think. (If not, just lmk and I'll change the tags!) Warnings: mentions of food and eating. Word Count: 2k so i have a few longer WIPs that i’ve been working on for months that are still not finished (@ people who can pump out like 10k-word fics on a weekly basis…how do you guys do this) so i thought i’d post something short & sweet in the meantime. i know it’s only june, but i’m craving a cozy fall night with my fictional bf, okay?
It’s the middle of October. Dry leaves scuttle across the pavement in the breeze, dancing over your feet as you walk past the shops lining the Hawkins main drag, the setting sun washing everything in golden autumn light. Window fronts are decked out with pumpkins and twinkling orange bulbs, paper cutouts of bats and smiling cartoon ghosts. Even though you’re running late, you can’t help but slow your pace, stopping to admire the establishments that are particularly dedicated to celebrating the upcoming holiday.
Your shift working at the public library just ended after an impossibly slow day. Two librarians and three assistants were on the clock, which was certainly more than enough to handle the grand total of seven people that came in, but Marissa was a stickler for attendance. She refused to cut any of the employees loose, no matter how many pointed comments your gum-snapping coworker made about the lack of visitors.
It was hard to be too annoyed about it, though. It was peaceful in the quiet. Being surrounded by tall wooden shelves full of books with that lovely, earthy perfume, was very soothing to you.
There had also been a brief but enjoyable interlude from Dustin Henderson who, out of all of Eddie’s younger friends, was by far your favorite. He was looking for test-prep books in anticipation of the AP exams he’d be taking in the spring, but spent most of his time talking your ear off about the Dungeons and Dragons one-shot he was planning under Eddie’s tutelage. He said goodbye to you with a wave and the sunniest smile you’ve ever seen, and you continued to find it very hard to believe Eddie’s insistence that ‘Henderson is such a little shit,’ a declaration usually accompanied by a hmmph! and a dramatic eye roll.
You’re pretty sure he’s Eddie’s favorite, too.
Eddie. Just thinking of him made your lips curl up in an involuntary smile. You bring your hand to your face, trying to hide your giddy look from the passersby.
It’s been about four months since you met during a chance encounter at Bradley’s Big Buy.
You had been struggling to reach a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the top shelf in the cereal aisle, even going so far as to do a little jump in your effort to reach it, but your fingertips just barely brushed against the cardboard. With a huff, you stood on the very tips of your toes, and stretched your arms as far as they could go, but your digits simply wiggled uselessly in the air, not reaching anything further than the cool metal ledge.
“Need a hand with that?”
You turned to face your savior, grateful albeit a little sheepish upon realizing that someone had bore witness to your utter desperation for sugar-coated rectangles. You became about ten times more flustered when you found yourself staring into the most outrageously pretty brown eyes you’ve ever seen.
“I’m more of a Honeycomb guy myself, to be honest,” he said as he planted one foot on a low, empty shelf to give himself a boost. He grabbed the elusive box with ease and placed it in your cart.
After procuring your breakfast for you, Eddie tagged along for the rest of your shopping trip. He chatted you up through produce, past the bakery, and by the time you made it to the freezer aisle, well – you dug around in your purse for a pen and, at his request, scrawled your number on his forearm, right below a cluster of scratchy bat tattoos.
A week later he took you to a movie, but not to The Hawk in the townsquare or the Starcourt Cinema like you expected. No, Eddie kept it old-school. He drove a little ways past the busy part of town, past the Hess Farm, to the empty field where the local drive-in theater was located. You were pleasantly surprised; drive-ins seemed to be falling a bit out of vogue lately, and you could hardly remember the last time you’d been.
You saw a Beetlejuice and Poltergeist III double-feature, and over the course of two films, Eddie spilled an entire bag of popcorn on the ground mere seconds after buying it; nearly choked to death on a single Raisinet; and on his way back from the restroom, got lost in the sea of cars for a grand total of eight minutes.
You’ve never been so immediately attracted to someone. He was so funny, and so sweet, and so entirely himself. It was the best date you’ve ever been on.
Since then, the drive-in has sort of become your thing.
You check your watch; it’s nearly seven. The sun is sinking more rapidly now, and the shadows are growing longer. You bundle your jacket around you a little tighter against the twilight breeze, and pick up the pace.
Eventually you stumble through your front door, tossing your purse on the entry table, and rush to your bedroom to change into something more comfortable and date-appropriate. Itchy blouse and sensible slacks begone. You dress in the outfit you picked out last night, and quickly give yourself a once-over, touching up your hair and face just the way you like it. A final spritz of your favorite perfume, and you feel as fresh and pretty as can be.
There’s a rapid knock at the front door.
Perfect timing.
“It’s open!”
Moments later, Eddie appears, lingering in your bedroom doorway, looking perfect. He’s wearing a black pullover sweater that you bought for him, lightwash jeans – an unusual choice for him – and his favorite sneakers. The corners of his full, pink lips tug upwards in a smile as he watches you adjust an earring at your vanity. “Hey, sweetheart.”
“Hi, Teddy.”
He appears behind you in the mirror and wraps his arms around your waist. “I missed you today.” He pecks your cheek lightly, and moves lower, so he can nose at the skin of your neck, inhaling your sweet smell. With a contented sigh, he straightens back up, and meets your gaze in the reflected glass. “You almost ready?”
“Yes.” You beam at him. “I missed you too.”
“Well,” he says, relinquishing his hold to just one arm, so he can pull you with him as he heads out of the room, “if that’s the case, then let’s not waste any more time.”
What Eddie lacks in game, he makes up for in chivalry. He escorts you all the way to the passenger side of his van, opens the door for you and helps you climb in. He doesn’t let go of your hand until you’re settled back in your seat.
You relax into the soft blue cushion while Eddie rotates through radio stations, nose wrinkled in distaste as he skips past each pop and new wave song that he hears. Finally settling on an old Van Halen tune, he rests his now-free hand on your leg, rubbing little circles into your thigh with his thumb. He casts you a hopeful sideways glance.
“I know the movie’s starting soon, but do you think we have time to stop at 7-Eleven?”
You know exactly where his head is at. “We always have time to stop at 7-Eleven.”
Tumblr media
Eddie juggles an armload of snacks behind you at the Slurpee Machine.
“What flavor do you want, bub?”
“Umm, cherry, please. Wait. Coke. I don’t know. Hold on.” He pauses. “Coke or cherry…cherry or coke…coke or cherry…,” he trails off, voice fading to a whisper as he mulls over this incredibly important decision.
“I’ve got a coke already,” you tell him kindly. “Why don’t you get cherry, and then I promise you can have as much of mine as you want.”
He lets out a sigh of relief so huge you’d think you just solved a life or death dilemma for him. “Thank you, sweetheart. Truly, I don’t know what I did before you came along.” You wave him off, pretending like his affectionate teasing doesn’t set your heart aflutter.
“So I was thinking –” he shifts the horde of crinkling bags around before he can lose any, “maybe Cheetos? Because I think we got the pretzels last time. Or we can get the salt and vinegar chips, if you want.”
“Cheetos sound good to me. But I think I want to get something sweet, too.” You look down at the two Slurpees clutched in your hands, frowning slightly. “You know, that isn’t the big cup of sugar ice I just made for myself.”
Eddie laughs loudly. “You can have whatever you want,” he promises.
Tumblr media
There’s a large, hand-painted sign at the entrance to the parking lot, embossed with bright orange letters and sitting slightly askew on its stake.
HAWKINS DRIVE-IN THEATER SPECIAL OCTOBER SALE Discount Horror Films Weekly, All Tickets Half-Price Happy Halloween!
Luckily, the film has yet to start when Eddie pulls into a parking space in the middle of the lot. He jumps out of his seat, excitement building, and opens up the van’s back doors, revealing a large pile of soft, worn blankets, and several pillows from Eddie’s place that you’ve come to know very well.
You help him unfurl all the bedding and spread them out in layers over the interior, orienting the pillows on top so the trunk becomes one big, cozy, makeshift bed. The pile of junk food sits off to the side.
The blankets smell like Eddie. They’re all clean and soapy-smelling, with a hint of tobacco and spice from the drugstore cologne he wears. You slip your jacket off despite the cool temperature, and drape the remaining blanket over both yours and Eddie’s shoulders, bundling the two of you up against chilly fall night. He slips an arm around you, pulling you close into his side.
“Warm enough?” he asks.
“Mm-hmm,” you nod, cuddling into his shoulder.
He rests his cheek on the top of your head. “It’s getting cold out. This’ll probably be our last night here for a while. I’ll have to start taking you to”– he gulps loudly –“Starcourt Cinema. God help us!”
Eddie’s dramatics are nothing new to you, but you can’t help giggling anyway. “Don’t lie. I know you secretly love it there.”
“You know no such thing.”
You actually do know such a thing. He likes the music store and riding the escalator and Hot Dog on a Stick. But you digress.
The two of you lapse into a comfortable silence. It’s fully dark now, and the moon is glowing luminously against the inky sky. The wind picks up, and the thick line of trees behind the giant silver screen begin to rustle with the force of it. It’s a gorgeous night, and Eddie is warm next to you. You think you could do this with him forever.
Not one to stay quiet, it’s not long before Eddie pipes up again. “You know, I’m glad you’re not opposed to gas station snacks, because I still can’t show my face at the concession stand.”
“Oh, Teddy, people drop things all the time. No one cared.”
“Says you.” Maybe you can’t see it, but you can certainly hear the pout in his voice.
A rush of affection floods your chest. You push back a sheaf of thick curls, and press an indulgent little kiss to the pale skin below his ear.
A loud drumroll suddenly bursts from the speakers, snapping you both out of your reverie. The screen has become alight with a starry night sky. The gray logo of the production company hovers in the center, and is quickly replaced with the green text of the opening credits, accompanied by a musical fanfare.
“On the twenty-third day of the month of September, in an early year of a decade not too long before our own…”
Eddie shifts his body with you in tow so you’re both reclining comfortably against the pillows. “I love this one,” you whisper. “I know it’s not scary like Texas Chainsaw or whatever, but I’m glad they decided to show it.”
“Yeah, I saw the flier at Melvald’s and thought of you. I thought you’d enjoy seeing it like this.”
“Thank you for thinking of me.”
“I never stop.”
————————————————————————————
You step into the base, sweat dripping down your forehead after an intense workout session. The familiar scent of camouflage and gunpowder fills the air, mingling with the faint aroma of something else entirely.
As you make your way through the corridors, you notice Soap and Gaz gathered near the kitchen island. Curiosity wins, you approach cautiously, only to find Soap himself standing there, holding a small poorly decorated box with your name in big bold letters.
You almost laugh out loud seeing Johnny’s confused face.
You step closer, trying to suppress the grin threatening to spread across your face. Soap's brows furrow as he examines the box in his hands, turning it this way and that, as if expecting some hidden treasure to appear.
Gaz looks up from his cup of coffee, his eyes widening as he spots you. "You smoke?!" he says, pointing at the box with a mix of amusement and disbelief.
You let out a chuckle, unable to contain yourself any longer. "Looks like you met Mary Jane." you say, feigning seriousness.
They both stare at you with eyebrows raised, not expecting you of all people to have a stash of weed on base. “Oh what the hell, wanna try?”
Tumblr media
🍃Soap 🍃
- Coughs uncontrollably after his first inhale, much to you and the rest of the teams amusement. You pass him a glass of water, trying to hide your laughter as he gulps it down, desperately trying to regain his composure.
- Soap's appetite goes into overdrive, and I mean like he raids the kitchen like a man possessed. He devours snacks with an intensity you all have only seen from him on the battlefield, munching on everything from chips to cookies, all while you all watch in both terror and amusement.
- In a surprising turn of events, Bro will become incredibly philosophical, sharing deep and profound insights about life, the universe, and what disney princess he thinks is Ghost’s favorite.
- Will try to steal Ghost’s balaclava and then proceed to get smacked down WWE style
Tumblr media
🍃Gaz 🍃
- Don’t let him out of your sights or he will start to wonder around base high off his rocker.
- You definitely have to show him how to properly inhale or he’ll somehow end up getting himself hurt.
- His normally stoic demeanor slowly starts to slip away, and he becomes increasingly giggly and carefree.
- Will stare at his hands in disbelief of his own existence
- “Woah mate…” As he stares at a pile of sticks on the ground
- Gaz's giggles become contagious, and soon all of you are laughing along with him, finding yourselves caught up in his infectious joy. Even the most Ghost can't help but crack a smile at his antics under his mask.
- You bring up the suggestion of using a bong and he almost passed out. Like fully the color drains from this poor man’s face.
- Soaps high ass is 1st and only one lined up to hit a bong. He’s a munch and gaz makes fun of him for it 💀
Tumblr media
🍃Price🍃
- Price is an avid smoker. There probably hasn’t been a time you’ve seen him off duty where he doesn’t have a Cigar hanging out of his mouth.
- In all honesty he probably isn’t all too affected by the weed. At most it’s a little buzz
- Might make himself seem like it’s his first time smoking pot but has definitely done it before with Laswell on the lowkey
- Soap and Gaz will look at him in shock as to how he’s handling the effects so well so he’ll promptly let out a forced cough to make them feel better about their struggles 💀
- Will attempt to disguise his high if he does begin to feel the blunt doing it’s job correctly.
- Bro has academic RIZZ and trust he will be telling you about the history of weed.
- If be decides to completely let loose this man is 100% singing every word to an 80’s rock song and is forcing you to do karaoke with him.
Tumblr media
🍃Ghost🍃
- Is not affected by the weed at all. At least not visibly…
- On the inside tho? Bro’s emotional hard drive is going HAYWIRE
- If he trusts you enough he has his mask rolled up with a blunt in his hand.
- If it’s just the two of you he’ll begin talking about random things, just rambling on and on. But if he’s around everyone else he’ll just stare ahead and let the buzz stay contained inside
- Will stare down at the ground, digging his heels into the dirt under his boots with tears threatening his eyes.
- Even he’s shocked how his emotions have a mind of their own once he starts smoking weed.
- I imagine him to get a sad/somber type of high :( bbg has been through it 😭
A/N: AHH I HOPE YOU ENJOYED AND TY FOR THE REQUEST!! 🩷🩷 My requests are still open btw :))
"Better late than never" part 9
  COLORING BOOK
Since Soap learned how to make Ghost’s tea, a cup of it waited for him every morning right next to Johnny's coffee- prompting the lieutenant to sit next to the Scot. Ghost didn’t really need any prompting, Ghost’s place was always right next to Soap after he saved him that place on the plane.
Although today there was something extra next to his mug when he sat in the mess hall.
“What’s that?” Ghost gestured at the item.
“‘Hello, Soap.’ Hi Lt! ‘Thanks for the tea Soap.’ No problem Sir.” The sergeant said to himself, looking disappointed at the taller man. Ghost just blinked at Soap, unamused. Soap rolled his eyes. “Just something for you to do while I am gone.”
“What do you mean?”
“I will be showing our future demolition experts how to properly blow up some old buildings a little farther away from the base. I will be back for supper.” The Scot was visibly excited, rubbing his hands together, already thinking about all the things he will set ablaze that day.
“Why without me?” Everyone knew that they were attached at the hip, even if the lieutenant would rather eat a bullet than admit that. They were always sent on missions as a team, they worked great together. They even trained rookies together since if Ghost were to do it alone the poor bastards would be dead by the end of it. Soap had a way more friendly demeanour. Recruits not only liked the sergeant but he had this special ability to encourage them to do better- not for him but for themselves.
 Ghost knew that Soap is a better leader, better than he himself will ever be. Johnny was charismatic and kind, always putting everyone else before himself. And Soap was so fucking smart, it brought Ghost physical pain to see him dumb it down for the entertainment of others. People would follow after Soap in battle, Ghost would and honestly he hopes that he will survive to see the day Johnny gets to be a captain. Because he fucking deserves it.
But that’s not the point right now- why today they got separated?
“From what ah’ know you are no expert on explosives so there is no reason for ye to tag along. Gaz will be joining me, and as a lieutenant, you have better things to do, don’t ye?”
Ghost frowned under the balaclava, he didn’t like leaving Soap alone and being left alone on base- or more like he didn’t like not having the Scot by his side. Ghost can pretend to be annoyed with Soap, but he is aware that the man makes his days a little bit more tolerable.
“Ah, Lt… you make a face lik’ ye actually gonna miss me.” Soap laughed.
“Piss off, you can’t see my face.” But MacTavish was right, he will miss him- even if only for a few hours.
“Ye are easier to read than you think Simon.” Soap looked him in the eyes, smiling softly. “I gotta go or Price will kill me for delaying shit again.” He got up and patted Ghost’s shoulder.
“Don’t teach them to make makeshift nukes in their’s room.”
“When it’s all the fun!” Shouted Soap, disappearing behind the exit doors. Ghost couldn’t stop a chuckle from coming out under his balaclava.
Ghost was going to take his tea to his room since without Johnny there was no point in sitting in a crowded space, but his attention came back to the mysterious objects. He grabbed the first one, which was a small tin box filled with coloured pencils- way nicer that the crayons they used once for doodling. The pencils weren’t in the usual vibrant rainbow colours but in nicely toned down, darker ones. Every single pencil was engraved with gold writing ‘Prismacolor’, Ghost never saw pencils like that. His knowledge of art supplies was very limited. All he knew was that the HB pencil is the best only because Johnny said so.
The second thing turned out to be a colouring book, but not just any colouring book. With Soap there was no normal. The front page of it read ‘Fuck off! I am colouring’ which was honestly amusing to Ghost. He thumbed through the pages, only briefly looking at the designs. They were all filled with swear words.
Soap expected Ghost to colour it, but he was sure that the thing will be probably lying somewhere in his room, untouched. Kept only because he got it from Johnny.
Ghost didn’t even get to take his tea to his room when his phone lit up. He got a message from Price
 ‘My office. NOW.’
The Brit groaned and walked to his Captain’s office, colouring book and pencils stuffed in his pocket.
***
Ghost had enough of that day, the world seemed to hate him.
First, when he entered Price’s office he was met with an apologetic look from the older man. They weren’t alone in the room, a middle-aged woman introduced herself and said she was a major. She looked very pissed. She showed them some papers with numbers that Ghost didn’t understand, telling him that there is too many KIAs on the missions he leads. That he should be better because that is what they expected.
No one had in mind that Ghost was usually being sent on a literal mission impossible like he was some kind of sorcerer that could make a shit intel about very dangerous ‘whatever’ work only because he is the Ghost. People expected him to perform miracles, but in the end, he was the one collecting dog tags from the fallen soldiers. It wasn’t even like he didn’t blame himself- because he did. He blamed himself for ever agreeing to lead the mission, to ever allow it to happen. Sometimes he felt like the shit intel wasn’t at fault- maybe he really could make better decisions?
Price couldn’t stand the woman any longer and he very nicely told her that they have some important things to discuss. The woman left, saying that she will be back if the numbers don’t go down.
“People are not a statistic you can change, son. Don’t pay attention to the old hag.“ Price tried to sympathize.
 It didn’t make Ghost feel any better about himself, he just stood in the middle of the office waiting for Price to dismiss him. The man signed.
“I will make sure not to take tasks from her ever again. You can go.”
Ghost never left that room so fast. He felt like shit.
Then his hands were trembling for the rest of the day. He wanted to clean some of his guns but he couldn’t do it so he went to his room thinking he could catch up with his paperwork. But it only made it worse since he had to write reports from those forsaken failed missions. He caught himself wishing Johnny was there to help him, to just speak endlessly about his day so Ghost can listen and forget for a while about everything else.
Ghost looked forward to the dinner.
***
As soon as it was past 6 pm Ghost started to worry, because Soap didn’t yet barge in blabbering about all the explosives he got to detonate today. Ghost knew that the sergeant knew what he was doing, but he didn’t know all the rookies and their abilities. He pushed that filling away and went to the mess hall thinking that maybe Soap was simply hungry after the course and stopped there to eat something.
But he wasn’t there. The training must have just extended in time.
Ghost grabbed himself a meal and sat at an empty table hoping that the Scot will finally show up. While he was at it something fell out of his pocket- the colouring book. He picked it up.
Fuck it
He also put the pencils on the table. Ghost went through the pages in search for something interesting. He picked one with ‘Ask your doctor if shutting the fuck up is right for you.’ in the middle- it made him smirk.
He picked a pencil and started filling out the design. He was surprised to get really into it. He was extremely focused on not going over the lines, filling the space in the colour pattern he choose. The pencils were extremely smooth and glided on paper with no problem allowing him to blend the colours with no problem when he realized that he can. No one will stop him and tell him to fill out one area only with a single colour. At some point his hands stopped trembling, Soap calmed him down even from far way.
***
When Soap came back buzzing with all the good feelings blowing stuff brought him, he didn’t expect to see what he did. Even if he was late for supper with Gaz, Ghost was still sitting there hunched over the damn colouring book he got him. He was completely engrossed in it- John smiled. What made him even more satisfied were the looks Ghost received from everyone around him.
The soldiers remaining in the mess hall looked flabbergasted, Even Gaz who stood next to him looked mildly surprised to see the big ol’ Ghost so focused on colouring.
“I told ye getting him the good pencils will be worth it.” Soap crossed his arms and looked at Garrick.
Kyle shook his head with a chuckle. “You would get him the expensive ones even if he were to throw them away. Which he wouldn’t.”
“Yeah… I would.”
Gaz ruffled Soap’s hair. “You are a whipped, man.”
And yeah, there was no point in denying it.
I struggled at the start but when I got into it it was really nice to write. I am a little worried that I am focusing on stuff not relevant to the prompt but it really helps me build the story. I hope you all like it and I love to read your thoughts <3 PROMPT BY @/Riolee on Ao3 and expanded by @u5an5
HIIII!! Todays my birthday but I’m not someone who likes my birthday. My therapist told me to try to do others things on my birthday to forget the bad things and enjoy. So nothing better then asking for an amazing creator to make a story right? Love your content btw!!! The clock on the wall read: 21:23, meaning you’ve made it the entire day without a single birthday celebration. No having to awkwardly stand in the doorway while people around you sing that awful grating “Happy Birthday” jingle when you walk into a room. There were no announcements during your morning meeting. There were no surprise parties when you entered the barracks. There was no opening those last-minute gifts that would inevitably end up in the garbage and lying to the gifter about how much you needed it.
The day was just like every other day before and every day that would be after. You preferred it that way and you couldn’t have been more thankful. You kept the significance of this day close to your chest, kept its existence a secret. You received one card for an aunt the day before along with a request to visit her once you returned home from your tour.
A bitter relief soothed the muscle of your clenched jaw when you got to your room uninterrupted. The comforting quiet of the empty space was the only gift from the world you welcomed. You tugged off your boots, setting them on the rack in the closet, and your uniform followed close behind in preparation for your nightly shower. You changed into a pair of loose shorts and a military issued green shirt and opened the door once more.
It was a knee-jerk reaction to attack the crouching form before your door. His own reflexes matched yours and tossed the knee coming for his face to the side, narrowly avoiding a broken nose. It painfully cracked into the door frame.
You hisses, “Jesus,” and hopped back into your room, rubbing at the already forming bruise.
“You psycho,” Ghost glowered up at you, a hand instinctively reaching for the blade at his thigh.
“You’re the one camping outside my door like a serial killer,” you spat, needing to lean against the wall to take the weight off your leg. You waved an aggravated hand at him, freezing when you spotted the small box in his hand, wrapped in plain brown paper. The same paper they supplied at the post office. You narrow your eyes at him, suddenly suspicious, “What are you doing?”
“Dusting,” he raised to his full height, now looming over you. He wasn’t wearing his normal attire and mask, a clear sign that he was off duty. He wore a regular black ball cap and a mask that covered his mouth. The top half of his face was still visible; his dark brows, thick lashes, and intense eyes were on full display. It felt like an intrusion to see him so bare. If your nerves weren’t shot you would have ogled at him.
“That’s a lie,” you looked down the hallway, making sure no one would overheat the conversation.
“Obviously,” he pulled his hands behind his back in a poor attempt to hide the box from your view, “I’m just…hanging around.”
You gave him an incredulous look, “Outside my door?”, you reluctantly realized it would be less painful to just rip off the bandaid, “What’s in the box, Riley?” you sighed, irked.
You didn’t think he was capable of blushing but the light pink that appeared beneath his skin was all the evidence you needed, “A gift. For you.”
You opened your mouth to snarl at him, but when the doors to the outside clicked open you tugged him into the dark room, closing the door behind him.
“Return it,” you quipped at him. His having a gift for you meant he was aware that it was your birthday today. It felt like an invasion; like he was seeing you naked.
“It’s not really something I can return,” he admitted, his cool tenor matching his steady eyes. He had stomped out the bashful air surrounding him so quickly, “I haven’t mentioned anything to anyone else if that’s what you're concerned about. Nor did I spend any money on you.”
“I’m more concerned about who told you,” you stepped back from him, the tension between you felt like a tether around your throat.
“It was in your file,” he revealed but quickly added, “I’ve read the file of everyone that I’ve worked with,” when he saw the unsettled look pull down your face.
You stared at him, your mouth a hard line. A combination of relief and interest tested your resolve to remain angry.
“Would you just open the damn thing,” he held out the box, no bigger than the palm of his hand.
Cautiously you took it from him, “If it’s a stupid keychain I’m throwing it out.”
“Shut up.”
The only sound was you ripping the paper and you shaking the box till the bottom fell out. You didn’t expect your reaction to be one of delighted shock. You stared at it, eyes blurring with hot tears, “How did—”, the words caught between your clenched teeth. There laying on a bed of tissue paper was a small charm. The chain that once accompanied it was still at large, but it was a small piece of metal hammered into a daisy, each petal as delicate as the last was a gift from your late sister you thought you lost on your last mission.
“Figured you’d want it back,” he shifted on his feet, suddenly finding the view outside your window incredibly fascinating.
He must have gone back to find it after you realized it was missing. When, or how, or why he would do such a thing was incomprehensible. This small gift was more than just a necklace charm, its sentimental value was priceless. You didn’t think you would ever see it again, hadn’t even considered going back and looking for it yourself.
“This means a lot,” you tried covering the whimper with a laugh, “More than I could ever express. Thank you.”
“Of course,” he lowered his chin, his somber expression visible even with the mask, “Had a hell of a time finding the damn thing.”
“Why did you do that?” you tilted your head at him, confused.
He shrugged, shoving his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants, “Knew it was the only gift you would accept.”
You opened your mouth but couldn’t find the right words. There were no words equivalent to the feeling of the weight being lifted from your shoulders.
He knew that you didn’t particularly like your birthday, and he still managed to celebrate it without you feeling sick to your stomach. He didn’t make it out to be a big deal. Or try and change your mind about the day. Or pry into your past to find out why you didn’t like the day. He simply gave you a gift.
Being a detective at your local police department was not an easy feat. Every single day consisted of such heavy work and many files to take care of and to file properly, as well as capture many criminals in the district along with your temporary team. You pride yourself on your sharp instincts and relentless pursuit of justice. As a seasoned investigator, you really saw it all – murders, robberies and a long ongoing string of complex cases that always had you putting your skills to the test.
By your superior, you were just recently assigned to a high-profile task force within the police department. A little intimidated by it, only because the group was full of well respected detectives. You were grateful your superior finally recognized your good and hard accomplished work to even assign you there. It would be a new chapter for you, and you didn’t want to mess up at all. Walking into the room where the task force was located, you scouted your eyes around the room clutching your brown box full of desk belongings and unfinished criminal files jumbled in there. You counted 7 desks with each detective working, not lifting their eyes from their screen to even acknowledge your arrival, as one desk was fully empty ready for you to use, all the way in the back, secluded, just the way you liked it.
You place your box on your new desk as you quietly started placing things in their respective places, as your superior walks in full of energy. It was too early, being 8:00 am, to be that energetic. He took a grand sip from his coffee cup in his hand as he placed it on a pile of papers as he clapped to get everyones’ attention.
“Okay everyone, listen up!” He exclaimed.
“We have a new addition to the team, and she is another fellow detective transferred from the other force. Now, treat her as a part of you all now, include her in missions and no sabotaging funny business you hear!” He said aggressively, causing you to smile gently as you stood up to introduce yourself.
“I hope we can all work together well, nice to meet you all!” You said nicely towards all your new accomplices as you gave a warm smile to each fellow detective, as some returned the same, until you reached the last detective. Your smile fades slowly as you realize who is there. Your breath hitches slightly as you sit back down slowly.
Your ex-boyfriend Simon Riley.
What the hell is he doing there? You thought.
You were known for your unwavering dedication to your job, but nothing had tested your resolve like the day your heart shattered. Once, you and Detective Simon Riley had shared a love that burned brighter than the sun itself. But now, all that remained were the charred remains of broken memories and shattered trust. It broke you, broke you so much you had to take a couple months off, claiming you were on “sick leave.”
Things ended between you two so abruptly, considering he was the one who ended it after you found out he cheated on you supposedly with another member from another task force, in that same damn police department you were in presently. You were dumb to even start a relationship with him, but oh did you love this man more than anything else in the entire world. He was a man of very few words and was rather cold and mysterious, your mind was all in a frenzy not knowing what to do next as you clutch your pen in your hand, trying to get started to file documents, but you can’t.
You were too focused on realizing that you were now forced to work with your ex boyfriend, and the fact that you still couldn’t get over him, despite it being 3 years ago. You weren’t going to lie to yourself, no matter how hard you tried over the years, you could never get over him. You were forced to succumb and bury the heartbreak you felt as well as the feelings you still miraculously still had for him. This was all too fast for you to process, you didn’t know what to do next, hell, you couldn’t even look up because you were afraid he was staring at you, which would’ve been absolutely awkward.
Your hands started to grow cold as you felt your stomach twisting, giving you the feeling that you had to throw up. You shot up quickly as you grabbed your jacket from your chair as you burst through the door to the bathroom, having 3 team detectives look up confused at your sudden action. Simon did not even bother caring, as he lit a cigarette from his leather jacket pocket, shooting a few puffs upwards as he analyzed a murder case file simultaneously.
Clutching the bathroom sink, you splashed water on your face to wake you up. You couldn’t possibly be feeling like this. This would hinder your profession and possibly, your superior could notice the change in your work ethic and send you out, which would be really embarrassing. It couldn’t be that bad, just work with the team as if there was nothing between you and Simon. Easy right?
Wrong.
You dried your face as you paced from side to side in the small bathroom, thinking of a good way for an entrance back to your desk without feeling queasy again. You decided to hype yourself up and not be cooped up in the bathroom as you left, making way to the office again. Pushing the door open slightly, not to disturb anyone else working, you quickly went back to your seat and sat down without gathering any attention to yourself, as you began filing a report for one of the cases you were assigned to.
As you were too engulfed in working on the case file while simultaneously concealing the feelings you were battling in your mind, as well as processing the fact that you are now forced to work with your ex boyfriend Simon Riley, this thought reminding you every waking second of the day, You hear a heap stack of files be placed on your desk with a huge thud, startling you. Darting your eyes up to see who it is, it is none other than Simon himself, staring at you with an icy cold stare that broke into you, making you feel absolutely small under his gaze. He slapped the giant pile of files he placed while playing with a cigarette hanging loosely from the side of his mouth, a scar apparent on the side of his lip.
“File these in the cabinets, alphabetically, get to it.” He said with no emotion whatsoever, making you wanna disintegrate right then and there, as he leaves the office with his leather jacket over his shoulder. You scoff and stare at the massive amount of files he left there, resembling an entire jenga tower, it’s like you were some maid of his.
Who the fuck does he think he is. You thought angrily.
You huff in defeat as you continue to file all these documents in their respective places, you eventually lose track of time.
[Same night - 12:30 am]
You yawn lazily as you start staring at the clock, reading 12:30 am, you rubbed your eyes and slumped into your chair stretching yourself, as you gaze around the room lightly, seeing only you in the entire office, feeling envious of the other members having finished their work early. This was Simon’s fault, giving you more work than you already had, considering he was the first to leave, he could’ve done the alphabetical filing himself, but no, he had to dump it on the newbie of the team.
You were happy with yourself despite the situation, considering the fact you were always an organized person, so everything was in order and in place, just how you liked it. Getting up and packing your bag with your things, you yank your jacket off the seat and leave the office, closing the lights and locking the door behind you.
This is fucking overtime. You thought, as you were not liking the fact you stayed so late because of a certain someone, even though it is your job as a detective, it irked you because this meant you missed the premier of your favorite show on your TV at home. Walking out of the empty police department to your car, the parking area was all empty, giving you an eerie feeling that you weren’t so alone, like you imagined, and that someone was still around, despite it being so quiet. You thought nothing of it as you were too tired to go and scout the area, so you just decided to ignite your car and zoom off home.
As you left, you couldn’t help but still think that someone was staring at you when you were at the parking lot, even though it was empty. It creeped you out a little but you thought none of it as you gripped the steering wheel focusing on the road. Little did you know, someone was there staring at you when you left, and it was the man himself, Simon. Watching your every move as you left, while he stayed hidden behind a tall tree near the parking lot, once again, smoking another cigarette while leaning against his motorcycle.
He couldn’t lie to himself, he was just a little shocked you were transferred to his team, but nonetheless, it ended between you two because of his stupid decisions. He messed up, but at the same time, he can’t bare to see you with anyone else. He wanted you all to himself. Despite ruining what you both had, and having you absolutely heartbroken, he claimed in his mind that he did what he did to you to protect you, by pushing you away from him. This backfired, considering that now, he can’t get you out of his mind. And now that you both are forced to work with each other, it will make it all the more harder for him. Which is why now, he was closely watching you, from a distance, like a hawk, ready to attack if anything comes your way to harm you. Like your guardian angel. You were his first love, and he was not going to get that taken away from him, regardless of the past.
[Couple weeks later - Monday - 8:10 am]
Pouring yourself a 2nd cup of coffee as you went to sit down at your desk, yawning tiredly, turning on your computer and putting on your badge and name tag lanyard on, it was time to begin work with the first case of the day. Pulling out the file, it was labeled as an armed robbery case. And this file was directed under you.
Setting up the documents, to make the explanation of the case easier on the cork board. You kindly began explaining to the other detectives, all while trying not to make eye contact with Simon, who was on your side listening intently to what you were saying. Which stressed you out a little, even though it has been a couple weeks since you were transferred.
“So, essentially, he was armed, and broke in about 15 minutes later, after the family had left for their camping trip.” You said strategically as you pointed to the board. You were breezing through this briefing to the others, and then assigned a part of the case to each detective to make the work easier, and to send the final report to your superior quicker and more efficiently.
Simon did not like the idea of being told what to do, and you learnt that the hard way. He told you bluntly that he was going to work on this alone and that he didn’t want to negotiate, which irritated you immensely. He left the room without even giving you a chance to speak, angering you. You followed him all the way outside near the back door, where he lit a cigarette, blowing puffs as he stared up at the sky, irritating you even more. Bursting through the door, you pushed his shoulder.
“What the fuck is your problem Simon?!” You exclaimed angrily. “All I am trying to is my job, and you are making this so fucking difficult with your bullshit-” You continued, as you pissed him off, which he then pinned you against the brick wall, holding your neck tightly, staring at you with the same icy look he gave you when you first joined.
“Watch that fucking mouth.” He said sternly. “If I say I work alone, you abide by that, you understand?!” he said, raising his voice louder, you were not going to let him just step over you once more, since the breakup.
You pushed him off you with all your force as you backed away from him.
“This case is under my name and my jurisdiction so you’re gonna have to follow my rules, and not disobey them, even though you are such a hard-headed piece of shit, and you’ve always been that way!” You said sternly but had tears well up in your eyes. He just stared at you, with his hands in his pockets, not saying another word, feeling somewhat hurt by what you said.
You left him there and went straight back inside as this deteriorated your mood immensely, making way to your desk, you quickly wiped your tears and continued to work on your tasks. You couldn’t let this bother you, he was not negotiating and that pissed you off, you didn’t think you would lash out on him like that. But it felt nice, to finally say something against him since the breakup.
After finishing the report with your members you made your way to your superiors’ office to hand him the completed documents, to which he was delighted to receive. He sent you off work early, meaning you could go home. Packing up your things and leaving for the door, you see Simon walk in holding someone, by pinning their arms behind their back, telling them to quiet down, and it seemed like he captured a suspect for a certain case.
Not that it was much business to you, so you briskly passed by him, however, you couldn’t help but notice how attractive his arm muscles looked, as they bulged through his tight shirt. Catching yourself shamelessly ogling at him, to which he noticed, you left for your car. As you sat in your car, you ringed up your best friend to come over that night.
[Same Night - 9:30 pm]
“Uh okay…so like now you two are working together, what’s the big deal?” Your best friend asked as she shoved her face with a bunch of gummy worms making you sigh and slump into the couch.
“I know but dude, its been 3 years since the whole breakup.” You said as your best friend looked at you about to say something.
“Wait a fucking minute…usually you are the type to forget things and you know, be in your new bitch arc everytime, but oh my god wait…do you still love him??!!” She said shockingly, having you widen your eyes, and have your brain in another frenzy.
“I can’t possibly..” You sigh as your eyes start tearing. Your best friend sighed as she came next to you and rubbed your back reassuringly.
“It’s okay, let it out.” she said softly as you started crying uncontrollably, it seemed like you have been holding all these tears since the day you found out he cheated on you, but at the same time, he was the only man at the time who made you feel loved, made you feel like such a princess. You had him wrapped around your finger, and he did everything you wanted him to. Despite his cold and rough personality, he was a giant care bear to you, and always was by your side whenever you needed, he loved you, and you loved him even more. And now, you were starting to miss him, the part where he cheated on you didn’t even bother you, you wanted him back. You needed him, you've had enough of this.
You got up and grabbed your jacket and keys and decided to drive to the police department, cause you had a feeling he was still there. Leaving to the door, it was heavily raining, your best friend knew what was going through your mind, and supported you.
“Here, take the umbrella, be safe and don’t do anything you’ll regret, okay?” she said as you nodded with a gentle smile.
“I’ll be fine, I just need to go see him.” You said, while giving her a tight hug as she nodded as you left through the door.
Driving down the road to the police department, the sound of the rain heavily hitting the windows, and the sound of the windshield wipers calming you. You finally reached the police department as you parked your car and rushed inside scanning your employee card first, respecting the others who were working and on the job. Not making much noise as you entered the empty office, you can’t seem to find Simon anywhere, mentally cursing yourself if you have come too late.
You walk to his desk slowly and touch his coffee mug, which still felt hot, meaning he could still be there. Your eyes scan his desk until you find the corner of a photograph under a small pile of papers that caught your attention. Lifting the stack slowly to see the photograph, your heart sinks but flutters at the same time, which you couldn’t really comprehend how. Clutching the photograph, it was a picture of you and Simon together on your 1 year anniversary, at a park. You couldn’t believe he still had this picture, you had thought that after the breakup he would just get rid of everything, but you were wrong.
He decided to keep it, and it wasn’t torn or ripped, it was in good condition after these couple of years. This brought tears to your eyes, and you were too focused on analyzing the photograph and reminiscing about how much fun it was back then, that you didn’t hear Simon walk in and catch you looking through his things.
“What are you doing?” He said sternly yet softly, walking towards you and taking the photograph from you, as he gently put it in the breast pocket of his jacket. You looked up at him and smiled gently and inched closer to him, closing the gap just a little bit more, causing him to be confused at first but later softened his gaze and looked at you with a saddened look.
You didn’t care about what happened between you two, you were a firm believer in second chances and wanted to give him a second chance, if he wanted to. You wiped some of your tears and took his hand gently in yours. You knew Simon like the back of your hand so the saying ‘Once a cheater, always a cheater’ left your mind, he didn’t fit in that category, he was better than that.
“Simon…” You said softly as he pulled you in a tight hug, catching you off guard. He felt warm, and his signature natural scent made its way to your nose, filling you to the brim with nostalgia and reminiscence of your past memories with him. Clutching him tighter, leaning your head on his chest as he looked down at you slightly, he didn't say a word but held you in his embrace tighter.
Your heart was beating fast as you pulled away from his grasp and looked at him while holding both of his hands in yours, gently rubbing with your thumb reassuringly. You wanted him to know how you really felt, so you were going to seize this moment, or else you’ll regret it later. As you were about to speak, he beat you to it, by clearing his throat.
“Listen, I’m sorry, I’m sorry for everything I did, I shouldn’t have never done what I did. I was clouded by judgment and was clouded by jealousy. I hated seeing you being transferred to some other task force where all the asshole men there wanted a fucking piece of you. I thought you deserved better, and to numb my shitty overthinking and jealousy, I picked a random woman from the other force and got with her, to forget you, to keep you away from me, only because I thought you needed better.” He said as his eyes started to well up with tears, which was something you never thought in a million years you would see. His rough and tough exterior was shedding right in front of you.
Your cheeks became wet with the tears flowing out of your eyes as you listened to what he said intently, and couldn’t help but push yourself into his embrace and hug him once again. Hating him for his dumb decisions and causing heartbreak for the both of you. But you had him now, you had him in the palm of your hand, and you needed him back. Reaching to dry his tears gently, you cupped his cheek and lightly grazed your thumb over the scar on his lip, causing him to release a sweet hum as he closed his eyes and leaned more into your touch, feeling more at ease.
“I forgive you, Simon…come back to me.” You said softly as he looked at you and nodded slowly as he took your hand and kissed your palm. Your heart skipped a beat and your entire mind was full of him, and you were happy that this cleared between you and now are connected once again.
Was this a bad idea? Was this too quick? Absolutely not. Not in a million years.
[Same night - 10:45pm]
Simon offered to take you back to his place, he wanted to spend the night with you. He missed you and now that he finally had you back, he was not going to mess up and have you taken away from him, not now, not ever. Not again.
Locking the door behind him as you start to wander around in his flat, it was clean and well organized, since he was a clean freak, just like you. There were many things that were so similar between you two, it was as if you were just two peas in a pod. You make your way to his bedroom door and as you enter you find small polaroids on a little cork board hung on the wall to your left.
Little pictures of the both of you once more were there, documenting the many trips you two went on and it brought such happiness to you, and tugged your heartstrings the right way. Simon came up behind you, after changing into more comfy clothing, and snaked his strong arms around your waist to rest on your stomach, while resting his head on yours, swaying from side to side gently.
“Remember that one, it was our first date.” He said pointing to one of the polaroids, making you smile and nod gently.
“Yeah, I’m happy but also surprised you still have all of these, Simon.” You said as you count how many of the little polaroids are there, hanging pretty on the cork board. You even notice that they are in chronological order, making your heart flutter at the sight.
“I never got over you, I can’t fucking do it, I’m obsessed with you, and that’s never gonna change.” He said sternly yet lovingly, causing your cheeks to heat up as you turn around to face him.
“Don’t worry, it won't change.” You whispered gently,  as you inched your face closer to his as your lips met together. The feeling of his sweet, soft lips on yours after these couple of years,  and having his rough scar graze on your lips the right way had your stomach in knots and mind in a blaze.
He released a small groan as he pulled you closer to him, feeling you even more, you were a part of him and he was a part of you, as he snaked his arms around you to hoist you closer to him.
Pure love.
That was the only thing going through your mind as he was kissing you with such need and such want. You bring your hands up to tangle in his soft locks of his hair as he groans at the action. You were kissing him with such passion, you didn't want it to stop, you couldn't help yourself at this point. His sweet, intoxicating lips were just begging to be sucked on until they became swollen. Every single fiber in your body dissolved at his rough but gentle and dominating command. An entire new sense of craving was taking over your mind.
You missed this, you missed feeling this exact feeling with him for the very first time, and now you are feeling it again, and you couldn’t be happier. His tongue darting into your mouth, playing a game of tug o’ war, exploring each crevice of your mouth with such extreme need. You needed him badly and released small moans into his mouth to tell him you wanted more. He suddenly pulls away and immediately latches his soft wet lips onto your neck, your back arches, almost like a perfect parabola, right into him, as he leaves open mouthed kisses, leaving marks apparent on your skin. Gently nipping at your skin, he asks you.
“Do you want more, sweetheart?” He says lacing his words with a playful tone. You couldn’t even form a sentence with how he’s got you feeling right now.
“Come on, use your words.” He said, licking each and every love bite and hickey he left on your neck for everyone to see on display.
All you could muster was a small and breathy ‘yes’ and that was all it took for him to place you gently onto the bed and hover over you, taking off each article of clothing from the both of you. Now, you two are completely bare in front of each other, as he attacks your lips once more, as he glides his large and calloused hand up and down your naturally beautiful hips and thighs.
And it was on.
All you could see was the carnivorous look in his eyes as he eyes you up and down, hypnotized by the way you look at him. He needed to taste you, absolutely devour you and you couldn't wait for it. He leans down for a quick short kiss to your lips and starts teasing your clit with the tip of his hardened cock, having you twitch in need under him. He laid small butterfly kisses all the way down your tummy to your pelvis area.
“You’re just so fucking pretty.” He cooed as his hot breath hit your most sensitive area. And not a moment later, his long flat tongue made its way to your throbbing clit as he tasted you. So sweet, so magnifying, his arms wrapped around your legs to keep you from moving so much, as he buries his entire mouth and nose into your delicious folds, feeling your wetness which only made him more excited.
As you followed his lead and pushed your pelvis up to feel every inch of his mouth, your hands grip his hair with such need and full desire. He inserted two fingers into your slick cunt as your moans filled the dimly lit room quickly and delightedly. He felt your walls close tightly around his fingers as he knew you were close to release.
“Shoot it, beautiful.” You heard him say muffled under your touch.
With that, you released a succulent burst, that had his entire face soaked as he licked up every single last drop not wasting anything. You lay there watching Simon taste you even more indefinitely on his fingers as he leans in to kiss you, and lay more butterfly kisses on your perked breasts, releasing sweet moans into his ear.
His soft voice giving you sweet compliments almost lulling you to sleep. As he lifts you to turn around and have your ass up for him, just sitting pretty. Instantly crouching lower and arching your back, ass high enough for him to grope. He wastes no second as he plows into you, letting out moans and groans from his soft mouth, as he fills you up. With his strong and flat stomach now completely pressed into you, his rough hands make their way to your hair as he tugs from the roots pulling your head back to him, meeting his lips for another greedy kiss.
The absolute ripping and exhilarating feeling of your core mesh with his, feeling the pleasure of the outstanding string of orgasms you have every single time. He was the only one who could make you feel this way and was the only man you would be on your knees for. You felt like putty in his hands and was on cloud 9, with how strong and uniform his thrusts were. Reaching each other’s climax, he gives your ass a couple rough slaps to leave an apparent mark to ogle at later. And then shoots his large load into you, shivering at the feeling as he pulls out and sees his cum drag down your leg, and wastes no other second to take his thumb and push it back inside you, causing you to fall to your forearms and let out a sequence of whimpers.
Falling down next to you with whatever energy he had left, he pulled you to his chest under the covers as you both stayed in silence. This was a comforting feeling for you both, your eyes half open as your head rests on his chest, hearing his heartbeat beautifully, and hearing his soft breaths escape his lips as you both come down from your high. He smiles gently as he sees you trace his tattoos on his arm.
“I love you.” Were the only three words escaping your lips as you doze off to sleep in his warm and protective embrace. He leaned to kiss your forehead gently and eventually turned off the only lamp in the room by his side, and followed you soon after, as he crashed to sleep, not letting go of you at any given moment.
Simon would do anything for you, all you had to do was say the word.
You were his.
And he was yours.
And he vowed to himself, that would never change.
Chapter preview below - Read the rest at ao3
"What?" Chloe asked rather innocently. Beca's response was to simply look her up and down before giving Chloe a sympathetic look. "You're dressed casually," Chloe pointed out. Beca was wearing a chic grey sweater, the materials it was made from and the tag on in probably cost more than Chloe's whole ensemble. In her arms, neatly folded, hung a cream-colored blazer that paired well with her cream-colored pants. Chloe wasn't sure what they were made off but they both looked sleek, stylish, and comfortable. The shoes Chloe already knew were expensive. It was a brand she didn't know off, but the insignia had caught her attention – Loro Piana – and it was enough to prompt Chloe to look it up before. Beca kept the make-up and accessories simple, with her hair styled back. This was casual for Beca. Not undercover, regular street clothes casual. But her own personal level of casual, one that screamed affluence over anything else.
Chloe on the other hand was wearing her favorite black suite and skirt ensemble that she wore to court a few times now. "I look good in this," Chloe insisted.
"I know, but… Look, Chloe. We're replacing a man and a woman, one of whom had the audacity to book the entire gallery for a private affair for two, I think it's safe to assume it's a date. And if one of them is rich enough to make private art gallery dates a thing…" Beca started to explain.
"This really won't pass?" Chloe asked.
Beca looked at her wristwatch. "We still have time, and I know just the place, come on."
"Just the place for what?" Chloe had asked. But Beca didn't answer.
Instead, they found themselves in Beca's car, with Beca driving silently to some chic, invitation only type of boutique Chloe didn't even know existed. Beca had a light smile on her lips, looking a little proud of herself. When they got there, she had explained that she called ahead of time – so she already planned this from the start, Chloe thought to herself – before Chloe found herself whisked off into a dressing room to try out a few pre-selected outfits for her.
Chloe tried very hard not to chuckle, every time she had to march out and gauge Beca's reaction, "modelling" the outfits she had picked out for her.
Beca was fairly easy to read in that instance. Chloe knew she wasn't convinced every time she pressed her lips together and quirked an eyebrow, and so Chloe would march back and try the next one. Meanwhile Beca was busy looking at whatever was in the black velvety boxes brought out to her by the shop's attendants.
When Chloe stepped out with the third to the last of her pre-selected outfits on – a she knew she had found a lovely black dress with a black blazer that hugged around her figure just right – she knew she found the winner. Beca looked speechless for a minute before she motioned for one of the sales attendants to come back with a big black velvet box. Beca gingerly picked up the necklace inside. The chains were made of gold and attached to the intricate design of the pendant. Beca walked up behind Chloe and placed the necklace around her neck, careful not to touch Chloe directly. Chloe could pick up the scent of Beca's perfume, a delicate mix of floral scents. There was a softness to it that Chloe paired with the elegant yet soft casual style that Beca had for the night. Chloe couldn't help herself blush a little. It almost felt like this fake date was real.
A part of her wished it was.
Beca hummed her approval as soon as she clasped it close, proud of her own choices. The sales attendant walked up to Beca, the box still open. That's how Chloe saw the pair of earrings that matched the pendant of the necklace. Chloe's fingers briefly brushed against Beca's own as she reached for one of the earrings inside the box, sending electricity from where they momentarily touched racing through her veins, down her pulse, throughout her own being.
"Are you sure about this?" Chloe asked with a gulp, trying to squash the butterflies that were starting to wake in stir inside of her. "You're spending quite a lot for one 'date.' This might be too much."
Beca shook her head. "Not at all," she replied before looking away. She watched as Chloe put the earrings on herself. "They were made you," Beca then said rather awkwardly, turning around and walking on away before urging Chloe to follow her out.
This was bad, they have a mission to complete, but Chloe couldn't help but notice how they were both acting like teenagers
Still, a part of Chloe's mind was indulging in maybes and fantasies. Of how things would have been if she had met Beca in a different circumstance.
Beca briefly smiled and let Chloe put the earrings on by herself. Chloe kept looking back at her through the mirror but Beca's expression had become unreadable in that moment. She couldn't help but wonder if her – well, their – beloved consigliere shared the same thoughts as her.
The Haunted Boy and His Ghostly Girlfriend
Pt. 1: Finding Common Ground in Communication!!
(Prologue) (pt. 2)
Anthony Lockwood x fem Reader
Warnings/Tags: A bit of a story-building instalment, Slow (?) burn, Meet cute, Reader is literally a ghost 💀, Whenever Reader’s mute basically story wise because it’s from Lockwood’s POV, No use of (y/n), Vague descriptions of reader being a jewel and a gem, this part is plot relevant I promise 😭, pulling some of this out of my ass IM SORRYYYY, I had to make it work somehow…, not much rom or com in this one, more plot and lore and scheming
Notes: I’ll have you know I literally was cross referencing stuff from the wiki, the books, and then the show to try and figure out how tf to write this 😭 There are FOUR drafts of what this scene could have looked like and this is what I had to settle on 😭 Please suspend your disbelief!!
Summary: Lockwood and co. make an astounding discovery about their newest friend, and they are all happy about this for completely different reasons. Lockwood’s reason? Well, he just heard the voice of the most beautiful person he’s ever seen.
Word Count: 1.4k+
Tumblr media
“Lucy? George? I think I found her,” Lockwood calls down the hatch, leaning on the pushed up door with a wrist resting on the hilt of his rapier. He sends you a charming smile, and revels in the small one you return. Underneath you both, you hear Lucy and George scramble up the ladder.
Lockwood found you in the house’s attic surrounded by haphazard stacks of sideways furniture, old mirrors, and dated portraits. There was the odd box or few sprawled about; big and small and gigantic, but just about everything was covered in cobwebs except for the window. Moonlight filters in and passes through you from the drawn curtains, framing you a sparkling jewel amongst the mess and clutter of the attic. Lockwood found it hard to tear his eyes away from you, but not out of fear, no.
Like a jewel glimmering in the darkness, you were beautiful and ethereal in all the ways Lockwood hadn’t imagined people could be; dead or alive. Sat on the windowsill with a weariness gleaming in your eyes, you didn’t quite scare Lockwood as much as you enchanted him.
“Lockwood? Did you—“ Lucy says, popping her head up through the open hatch. Her breath catches when she sees you, and you send her a wary smile as she climbs into the attic.
“Is she there, Lucy?” George calls from the ladder, a supply bag on his shoulder. Your eyes drop to the open hatch, but focus back on Lockwood when he leans down to take the bag from George and help him up.
“Yeah, she’s… right here.” Lucy whispers, sounding like she just ran a marathon. Lockwood resonates with that feeling. He looks back up at you and wills his heart to quiet down where it’s beating against his ribcage and slamming into the bones.
George turns around slowly, eyes finding you where you’re laying along the windowsill. You look tired and defeated, a deepness about your eyes that screams of exhaustion. It makes Lockwood’s heart seize as George whispers to him and Lucy, “Have you found her source yet?”
Before anyone can answer, your mouth opens and you soundlessly begin to speak; Lucy perks up and her eyes light. “Where is it?”
Your ghostly hand points to a corner near the window, mimicking a small box as you soundlessly explain to Lucy where and what it was. She nods, determined, as she steps over a few relics and cobwebs along the floor.
“A necklace in an ornate box,” She says aloud, using her rapier to cut away some of the cobwebs. “Definitely over here, but it’s been a few years since you’ve seen it?”
You nod and say something only Lucy can hear, but George follows along and begins helping her dig about. Lockwood steps forward to face you, feeling more and more breathless with every step. He honestly doesn’t know what he’s doing, so he instead says the first thing that comes to mind when you peer at him curiously.
“When we find it, we’ll have to secure it for a bit while we bring you home. You won’t be able to do anything while we have your source contained, but it won’t be long, I promise,” He tries to say reassuringly.
You give him a wary frown with your brows furrowed and lips pursed thin. You open your mouth to say something, but pause to think about it further. From here, Lockwood can see even stray strands of your hair and the bat of your lashes, so lifelike even in the blur of ectoplasm. Weakly, you shrug, not meeting his eyes.
“I promise you, we won’t keep you there forever. We just need to transfer your source.”
From behind him, Lockwood can hear George and Lucy whispering before Lucy comes up beside him. She’s got her hand on the hilt of her rapier out of instinct, but it’s rested and loose.
“We just want to keep you company while Pepper’s away,” Lucy explains, eyes flitting between you, Lockwood, and George. “She asked us to keep you company, and it’s easier to take you home with your source contained.”
You seem to say something in argument, but Lucy’s smile doesn’t falter so Lockwood takes it as a good sign. Somehow even with your face scrunched up, you looked absolutely enchanting in the moonlight. Lockwood was starting to wonder if this was a type three ability.
“If we were caught out in the night with you, someone else might try to take your source. They might hide you away or destroy it if they catch you,” Lucy says gently, nodding out to the street visible from the window. Somewhere along the sidewalk, a ghostlamp is flickering in the distance. In the light of it, a stray agent or two was walking along the street. You seemed to think it over, frown ever present.
“You have my word as agency head; we won’t just keep you locked away.” Lockwood steps closer to the window as you squeeze yourself into one side far from them. He felt touched a bit at how you avoided them; likely you knew it was dangerous and didn’t want them hurt. Your eyes search his face for any hint of a lie, before you slump back into the window and look down onto the street.
Lucy seems to light up at whatever you say next, and gives Lockwood a discreet thumbs-up and impressed smirk. She turns to you, even though you aren’t looking at her, and says, “You won’t regret it.”
A silence settles between you as Lucy steps back to help George look for your source, sending Lockwood a significant look before she too disappears behind a few stacks of antiques. The room is filled with their whispering and bickering, as Lockwood tries not to let his eyes linger on you for too long.
You turn to him, and his heart stops when your lips upturn into a tiny smile. It’s terribly heartwarming how cozy you look in this cold air, and he almost wants to peel off his coat to give to you before realising you were what made it cold. You catch the aborted action with a grateful nod, tucking your lips in to hold a laugh. Not like he would have heard it (a damn shame it was) but he still found himself grinning.
“Almost forgot you probably don’t mind the cold,” He says cooly, watching you shrug. Your hand motions something in the air, before you give up and instead mime pulling a rapier from your hip.
“This old thing?” Lockwood asks, standing up to unsheathe it away from you. You nod and gesture to it again, miming a stab before a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down with (this is important to Lockwood) playful expressions that make his chest warm.
“I’m quite good, if that’s what you’re asking.” He makes a quick, but precise swing at a nearby cobweb and revels in the amusement shining on your face. “I have some newspaper clippings you can see once we bring you home.”
If you giggled there, he’s truly sad he couldn’t hear it. He goes to voice this befote George steps out from the corner with what looked to be a necklace in his hand. His jaw was slack in surprise, and he looked frozen to the spot with his eyes as wide as saucers. Behind him, Lucy was softly calling his name in concern with a hand on his shoulder.
Before Lockwood could ask him what was wrong, George says to you, “I think I heard you just now.”
Your eyes widen, as you sit straight up on the window and ask him a question Lockwood can’t hear. George’s eyes widen, and Lockwood feels his blood pounding in his ears in the silence.
“Lucy, did you hear them ask that?” George doesn’t turn around to face her, but she nods and gives a murmured reply. A glimmering jewel and chain shine in the same moonlight framing you— a gem in every which way.
The next thing that happens comes as a blur to Lockwood, who asks, as if in a trance, to borrow the necklace to hold. Your eyes follow the jewel as George passes it to him, everyone still bewildered and the air tense and cold.
“I don’t think it’ll work for you, Lockwood. You don’t have the talent to listen,” Lucy murmurs to him with a scrunched frown. Still, George passes it over.
“I have to at least try.” Lockwood gently wraps his fingers around the necklace, a bit of chain loose as he turns to you with a soft smile.
He fumbles for words like they’re caught on his tongue, before he simply settles on, “Hi.”
Even without being able to hear you, somewhere in his bones he can feel your words like a kind and fuzzy thought reply to him. It’s enough to have him grinning ear to ear, even if it doesn’t exactly help him understand what you’re saying. Your gaze grows a bit fond at that, and you say something Lucy catches that causes her to smile wide.
On the sidelines, George murmurs, “I can run so many tests.” Lucy smacks his shoulder at his tactlessness, but her smile is unfaltering. She pulls a small, glass case out and pops it open.
“Any last questions, Lockwood? I won’t ask you George because we’ll be here all night otherwise,” She hums, holding out the box.
Anthony’s grin widens and he asks elatedly, “What’s your name?”
Like all the things you will share with him in the future, your name etches itself into his memory, right beside where he will always hold dear your glittering smile.
Lighthouse of my Soul - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Heeelllooooooo everyone! Here’s chapter two! It’s a bit longer and hopefully intriguing, go read part one first if you haven’t already! Why do you think poor Jake wants to talk to her so bad? 🤭
I have so much planned for this story. If you’d like to be tagged, just let me know! I’ll try to crank these out as fast as I can, but there’s two kiddos sucking the life out of me everyday. Again, go easy on me, I don’t actually know what I’m doing! Read chapter one here.
Warnings: Talks of mentally abusive parents. Cussing. Spooky?
(Ghost)Jake x Reader
Tumblr media
You started the day out with stocking your fridge. Due to the lack of cabinet space or a pantry, you found a cute wooden bookshelf that would have to suffice for your dry goods. You wandered along the small local owned thrift stores and the handful of chain stores that the island provided. There isn't much on the Outer Banks. During the summer, it gets pretty busy. It's a hot spot for tourists that just want a slower pace in paradise.
If you needed anything more than the Food Lion could accommodate, you'd have to travel across the bridge back to the main land. There were several fast food restaurants up north but the further south you get, the less and less likely you're going to find anything quick to eat.
You had picked up two folding chairs that the Dollar General had that would have to do for seating in your living room and the cardboard boxes would have stick around a while longer as your coffee table.
Wandering through the thrift stores, you had found several cute mix matched plates and glass cups as well as a few vintage paintings to hang up.
You had been exploring all day and finally made your way back to the tiny cottage around dusk. Walking up the deck stairs to the front door you looked through the glass pane straight through your living area and through the back doors glass. You noticed a small red flickering flame hovering in the Adirondack chair that sat on the other side of the house. You stopped in your tracks and stared, mouth agape. What is that? Your mind racing and heart pounding harder and harder with each second. Do you walk around the wrap around deck to sneak up on the sight? Do you just stare? Do you turn around and bolt it back to your car and drive away and never return?
You were still for a few more moments until you snapped yourself out of the terrified gaze. You slowly lowered your grocery bags onto the weathered deck wood and tried to sneakily creep your way around the corners of the house. As you came to the back side of the house, the strong salty night breeze rushed through your hair, making you gasp to catch your breath. The goosebumps returned, just like they had last night. You slowly peaked around the corner of the house, trying to make yourself unseen. But alas, no one and nothing was there. You blinked a few times trying to focus your eyes to where you had seen the red flame but still, there was nothing. You slowly walked to the chair where it had been, taking in your surroundings incase there was an intruder or someone there to do no good. As you inched closer and closer to the chair, the strong aroma of tobacco filled your lungs once more.
Was someone just using my deck to smoke? Your mind wandered to all the possibilities. You wracked your brain hard to try and remember exactly what you saw. You were positive there was not a figure sitting in your chair, you would have noticed the outline or a shadow if there had been. What was the light? Where did it go? You stood there wondering what you had gotten yourself into. Was someone there to play tricks on you? Try to scare you away? The locals on the island aren't particularly fond of the tourists or outsiders moving here, they try their hardest to keep the island as natural as possible. That was your only possible reasoning. There's no way the smell of tobacco would linger if there wasn't someone here smoking. Maybe they had come up from the beach and needed a place to sit? You tried to calm your mind and think only the best case scenario.
You peaked around the other side of the cottage, to make sure no one was lurking and waiting on you to come back for your groceries. Once you deemed yourself alone, you let yourself inside and began stocking your fridge and cute bookshelf with the items you had picked up.
After finally getting everything sorted and put away and changing into your comfy flower pajamas, you sat down in one of your new fold up chairs in your barren living room to watch TV. You had finished the dinner you had picked up from a local restaurant and were lazily scrolling through your phone and somewhat paying attention to the show when you heard faint music. You thought maybe it was just something playing in the background of the show you were watching until it changed to a commercial. You realized the soft guitar had never stopped. Your eyes grew wider as you realized the music was coming from upstairs. You hesitated to reach for the remote to mute the TV. Maybe if you just ignored it, it never happened? You did eventually turn the TV off all together and sat silently listening to the acoustic guitar that you know you don't own being played up the stairs. “Could there be anything else this house cannot do.” As fast as it slipped from your mouth, you quickly wish you hadn't said it out loud. The guitar came to an abrupt halt and you felt your chest tighten, you felt like if you even dared to breathe, whoever or whatever would come for you.
After a pause, you heard the footsteps begin. You followed the sound with your eyes on the ceiling underneath the typewriter room. They started from where the desk is in the room and made their way to the door, you did not hear the door open but you know you have kept it shut since moving in, the footsteps continued to the top of the stairs and they almost bounced down the steps, like a playful child would when coming down for Saturday breakfast. You swallowed the lump that had formed in your throat and knew that this may be it. Whatever has been haunting you since you moved in would finally win. You could hardly keep your eyes open, whatever it was, you did not want to see it appear from the stairs. You did not want to face it.
You waited. You thought that whoever was coming down the stairs for you should have made it to you by now, but you felt no one. You heard no one. The footsteps seemed to have disappeared after they reached the bottom floor. Your eyes had been screwed so tight that they were starting to hurt, slowly opening your eyes and peaking through your lashes, you were alone.
The air finally escaping your lungs made you slump over. You had never felt fear in this way. This was supposed to be your home. You wanted to get away from the real monsters and people in your life that had made your worst fears come true, why did you have to endure even more fear in the one place you thought would be safe.
Tumblr media
His POV
Why isn't she seeing me?! You paced the floor in the typewriter room. This was your safe space, where you created music and wrote love letters. Where you spent most of your time, listening to the ocean waves and reading about pirates and far away lands.
I've tried everything I know, but she still is so afraid of me! You ran your index finger and thumb across the stubble on your top lip. Slamming your hands down on the desk that sat under the window, you stared out to the sea. I can't believe she's finally here and I have no way to be with her. Your eyes grew misty with the thought that you might scare her away before you even got the chance to tell her. What if she never saw me? What if we just coexisted in this house without ever being able to communicate?
The image of her sitting in the chair as you waltzed down the stairs to greet her is burned into your mind. Her eyes so tightly shut that it looked like it pained her, her white knuckles clenched around the seat and her shoulders visibly shaking with fear. This is not what you meant to do to her. You just wanted to talk with her, show her that you were also here, share your space with her. You replayed the night that you were typing your thoughts away on the typewriter; you heard her make her way down the stairs and had smirked when you realized she was up late into the night. The grin on your face fell when you heard the loud crash of her fall to the bottom of the stairs. You instantly made your way to her side, checking to make sure she was uninjured. You helped her make her way back to bed and watched her fall back into a restful sleep. She looked so beautiful and peaceful. Her long, wavy blonde hair draped over her shoulders and the slight snore coming from her lips made you finally feel that you were no longer alone. Maybe, you could find a way to keep her. But, when she awoke that morning you knew she had no memory of what happened. All she remembered was fear. Fear that you had instilled in her and hammered deeper and deeper with everyday that she had been here.
How will I fix this? I have to fix this! You stayed in your room, doing your best to make himself invisible. Just give her time, Jake. She'll come around. She has to.
Tumblr media
Your POV
The house had been quiet the last couple of days, which you were very thankful for. You started your new position at the newspaper tomorrow and you wanted a clear mind to start off on a positive note. You had searched through your closet for your first day outfit and decided on a pair of dark green flowy pants and a nice beige button down that you decided to tuck in, just in the front. You were going to curl loose waves in your hair and finish off with light makeup, you wanted to make a good first impression. You hoped that this temporary job would turn into a permanent position with the newspaper.
You had everything hanging up on the frame to your closet and had made overnight oats for a quick grab and go breakfast. The cold brew was ready in the fridge and you had tidied up the house as much as you could in its current state.
You felt ready, you felt excited. You were hoping you weren't the youngest employee there, but being that this is a small town, you weren't sure who you would meet. You spent the afternoon lounging on your deck, diving into your newly started romance novel. The hot June sun beating down on your skin and the ocean breeze was just enough to keep you cool. This was peace. You felt like you were living a dream and you felt in the back of your mind that you may wake up and you would be back home, living in your nightmare.
You hadn't heard from any of your family since you moved. Which does not bother you, when you told them you had been offered the job here, they scoffed at even the thought and basically told you, you would fail. You were here to prove them wrong. You knew what you were capable of. You just had to dig deep and find the woman that you knew you were. You had to heal your inner child and tell her that you would make it out, you would make something of yourself, you would not be who they said you were. The years and years of mental abuse had wore you down to the point that you didn't even know if you were capable of living a happy life. You had internalized every hateful and spiteful comment that your parents had ever said to you, packaging it all up into a box inside your mind and it felt like you would never be able to throw it away.
Your stomach rumbled as you continuously flipped page after page. Finally giving in to the feeling, you walked back inside to put together something for lunch.
Tumblr media
Jake's POV
You sat quietly in the Adirondack chair beside her. Taking in her beauty as she intently focused on her book. Something a little risqué you gathered from the way her lips would curl up every now and then as her right eyebrow tweaked up, she would shift in her seat and continue reading. You silently sat with her and watched the waves crash against the sand, following the few passerby as they walked down the beach. Wondering their life story. Were they happy? Did they have a family? Pets? What did they do for work? Did they live here or were they on vacation? A few times you created their own little stories in your head. The couple holding hands and walking through the newly wet sand had just been married. They decided to visit the island as a small honeymoon, not wanting anything too extravagant. They liked the history behind the island and loved to visit the multiple lighthouses and learn about the locals.
The old man that was seen carrying his fishing pole came here to fish. From sunrise to sunset he was on the beach surf fishing. The rest of his family back at their vacation rental or shopping around. He wasn't sure, all he wanted to do was sit on the tranquil beach and throw his fishing line. He didn't mind if all he caught were skates or puffer fish, he just enjoyed the peace that the ocean brought him. He may sort through a few shells every now and then and pick out the prettiest ones to take back to his daughters that  night when he finally decided to call it a day and have dinner with them.
You returned your gaze to her, still sitting cross legged in the large wooden chair. She suddenly closed her book and stood up to walk inside, she stopped at the deck railing and looked out over the sea. Taking in a deep breath of the salty air, her lips upturned in pure bliss. You hoped to see more of this side of her. There was something so magnetic about her, you couldn't help but want to be with her. Even if she was terrified of you, even if she had no idea you were there.
You followed her in the glass door and took a seat on one of the fold up chairs in the living room. What a strange choice of furniture you thought as you tried to get comfy. She casually strolled around the kitchen, collecting random things from the fridge and shelves to put something together for her lunch.
She finally made her way into the living area with you and sat down in the matching black chair beside you. She reached down and turned on the TV, satisfied with whatever came on first. Should I say something? You thought to yourself. I don't want to scare her. God you're being such a creep Jake, why are you just following her around like a stalker, you're trying to get to know her not murder her.
You sat beside her until she eventually got up to put her bowl in the sink. You felt awkward, you knew this was ridiculous. She really can't tell that I'm here too?
Tumblr media
Her POV
The day was finally here. You woke up to your alarm ringing at 7am, the soft sunlight shining in on your face and lighting up your bedroom. You waisted no time getting up and dressed. Brushing your teeth and fixing your hair and makeup just the way you had imagined. You were so thankful that you had premade your oats and coffee the day before, you were running a bit later than you anticipated.
Quickly sliding into your car you backed out of the short driveway and made your 15 minute commute to the new job that you were hoping would be the big break you were needing in life. The drive to the office was beautiful. The Pamlico sound on one side of the two lane highway and the ocean crashing on the other. You were amazed that this tiny sliver of an island had made it this long and had gained the attention that it had. You thought back to a childhood vacation you had years ago, when a hurricane had come through and flooded the area. The ocean had come across the sliver of island and washed out the highway between Hatteras and Nags Head. The highway was completely underwater and broken up. The residents to the south of the island had to be ferried in tiny boats back and forth for groceries and supplies for months. It was wild that anyone would choose to reside here, but then again, here you were.
You pulled your car into the parking lot of the small building, adorned with plain black letters Hatteras Island Newspaper. A smile crept across your face, this all still not feeling real. You took a few deep breaths and made your way into the building.
You immediately noticed the musky smell of the main room that was wall to wall in 70s wood paneling. The carpet probably hadn't been changed since it was built and was a dark burgundy color. The sudden sound of the glass door shutting behind you caught the attention of the young woman sitting behind the large wooden desk to the right of the room. Across from her desk, the wall was lined with chairs you would think would be more suited for a doctors office. Above the chairs, the wall was lined with framed front pages that had large pictures of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse being moved from its original spot and aerial pictures of Highway 12 when it had washed out due to the hurricane.
"Hello! Can I help you?" The red head spoke up. Your eyes darted towards her and you tried to smile, hiding the grimace you knew you hadn't hidden well. Clearing your throat, you made your way to her and leaned against the tall desk that up came just to your waist. "Hi! I'm Y/N, I was hired as a temp and I start today."
You felt your legs begin to tremble when the nerves finally sat in. You hadn't let yourself feel the nerves, you tried to talk yourself full of confidence but your facade was slowly fading away as you stood in the entrance to the building that you were hoping would change the course of your life.
"It's so nice to meet you! I'm glad you're here, I'll take you back so you can meet everyone and find your spot." She cheered as she walked from around the desk and to the hallway towards the back. "I'm Nora by the way." She spoke over her shoulder as you followed her through the building. The hallways felt like a labyrinth with the way they all turned and met together. Walking further and further into the depths, you peaked in open doors as you walked by. Some had large desks and there were a few with multiple artists like desks lining the walls. You walked past what you assumed to be the meeting room, where a large glossy table sat in the center with at least a dozen rolling chairs pushed in under it. You almost bulldozed Nora when she came to an abrupt stop in the hallway at an open door. She held her hand out, ushering you inside. You peaked around the corner and found an older man sitting at his desk. His graying hair and long beard made him look like he should be the captain of a ship instead of working for the newspaper.
"This is Y/N Mr. Mauney, she's our new temp here for her first day." She chirped at him. You forged a smile, willing your thoughts to catch up with you. Following Nora and making your way to the front of his desk, you held your hand out to greet him. Mr. Mauney glanced at you over the top of his nose and continued reading the manuscripts he had laid out over his desk. "Hi Y/N, welcome. I hope you'll find your time with us worth while." You slowly retracted your hand when you realized he was making no effort to formally meet you. "Oh, thank you. I'm very excited to be here!" You tried to sound cheery, but the picture you had painted in your mind of a rosy and welcoming environment was slowly fading.
Nora could sense your sudden nervousness and cleared her throat, "Alright Y/N, I'll show you to your desk." She made her way back to the hallway and led you down a couple more doors. She walked into a small office space, still lined with old wood paneling and the same burgundy carpet. You noticed the large window in the center of the back wall and tried to find that a positive, at least there would be a connection to the outside world. "This will be your office, we have a few desks in storage that you can pick from and we'll have it moved in for you. You can bring in anything to decorate if you'd like and we'll get you a computer set up today. It will be your personal so feel free to take it home with you every night, you might need it." She spun around on her heels and made her way back to the hallway. Turning back to you, she sighed and folded her hands in front of her. "Please don't take Mr. Mauney as too rude, he has his moments. He really is a kind soul but" she paused, her face showed that she was thinking hard about her next few words, "he has been here since he was 18, his father also ran the newspaper. He didn't exactly have an easy life, so he's a bit rough around the edges." She tried to reassure you. "I'll go find maintenance so they can get you a desk." With a tight close lipped smile, she disappeared down the hallway, leaving you alone in the empty room that you swore had to have been a closet in past years.
You met with maintenance and picked out your desk, it was the best one out of the few they had available but was still not something you'd prefer, it would have to do. They set up your computer for you and the connected the phone in your office.
You sat down at your desk and ran your hands over the weathered wood. You could tell it had been used, maybe overly used and was needing retirement. You clicked around your computer and made tiny boxes on the home screen, disassociating from the overwhelm of all the new information you had learned. You hadn't seen the building before walking in, you hadn't even googled it before coming in. The newspaper had sent a job ad to your department at school and as soon as you realized it was for Hatteras, you immediately replied. You spoke with a lady from the newspaper on the phone two months ago who didn't ask many questions about your experience or even details about yourself. She wasn't very thorough in explaining the position with you and had offered you the job after the 10 minute phone call. You found it a bit strange, even the interviews for the waitressing jobs you had in college had been more intense. You accepted without a second thought, this was finally your way out of your small home town. You wouldn't have to return to live with your parents and maybe you could find your footing as a real adult after college. After all, it lead you to your favorite place.
At the end of your shift, you thanked Nora for all her help and wished her a great night. She returned the pleasantries with a large smile and a small wave. You hoped she was someone you could trust. She was your age and seemed nice enough.
Walking up the stairs to your deck, all you wanted to do was eat and go to bed. You looked up to the little cottage you called home and sighed. Was anything going to go your way for just once? Entering the front door, you sluggishly sat down on the stairs to your right. Your head fell over your crossed arms on your lap and you hoped the tears wouldn't fall. The warm tear trickled down your cheek and you wiped it away with your cardigan sleeve. You let out a loud sigh and just stared at the wall in front of you that you had hung the cute mushroom and flower painting on. You focused on each color that the artist had chosen. The tiny dots that lined the top of the dark red mushrooms and the small frog that you hadn't noticed before, just sitting underneath the foliage.
You were about to stand up to find something to throw together for dinner when your shoulder blade turned ice cold. There was a light pressure with the sensation and the goosebumps once again returned down your spine. You sucked in a sharp breath as you realized it was a hand on your back. "Please don't touch me, just leave me alone." It's all you could think to say. You didn't want to put up a fight tonight, you didn't have the energy for the nonsense after today. You really couldn't even find a care for what just happened, you just knew you didn't want it to happen again. You swiftly stood up from the step and walked towards the kitchen, you didn't want to look behind you to possibly see the entity that was behind you. You had come to the realization that you were stuck here, at least for the next three months, so you decided to stay out of its way if they stayed out of yours. It didn’t seem malicious, maybe just a residual soul stuck here; you had landed on coexisting if it could too.
Jake's POV
You've done it again, you idiot. Why do you keep doing this?! You didn't meant to scare her. You'd actually made her mad. Why did you touch her?
You had heard her come in the door and when you had made the corner at the top of the stairs, you saw her sitting on the bottom step breathing heavy. You knew she was crying and it hurt your heart to see her upset. You knew you shouldn’t have, you just wanted to comfort her. You should have just returned back to your room to mind your own business. As soon as your hand touched her back, she jolted forward. You fucked up. You could hear the rage in her voice when she told you to stop, to leave her alone.
Can I come back from this? Will I actually be able to get through to her? How? You were angry. Angry at yourself, angry that you were even in this position. Why couldn't things have just worked out. Why does It have to be this way?
You sat quietly on your wooden chair in your room and found comfort in the only thing that has remained the same the last million years. The sea had a calming effect on your mind. It was almost hypnotizing to watch each wave crash over and over again, each swell being slightly different than the next.
Then the thought hit you. You peered down at the typewriter sitting in front of you and hoped that this last resort effort could finally close the brick wall that had been built between the two of you.
Psychosomatic Freedom (To Your Head)
(Beetlejuice x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Renting out the spare bedroom in the Maitland/Deetz mansion was wacky enough when you found out you’d be living with real life ghosts, but things only got more intense when a certain demon was thrown into the mix as well. Not only does he pride himself on annoying you whenever you’re busy, but he chooses to do so in ways that make you regrettably very horny for him. You do well at keeping your flustered reactions under control when you’re around him, but please try to remember that he WILL appear if you say his name three times, no matter the context or intent.
Word Count: 13,840
Rating: Explicit
Warnings/Tags: horny demon escapades, a dash of praise kink, even smaller dash of humiliation kink if you squint, beetlejuice being a bastard but he also whimpers, hurt/comfort, emotionally vulnerable handjobs, afab reader (no gendered terms are used aside from beej referring to reader’s “tits” bc of him being the way that he is), tried to limit my use of (y/n) but it is in there, monster fangs/tongues, overuse of bj’s mood ring hair, beetlejuice is so annoying that he loops back around into being majorly fuckable
Author’s Note: it’s finally happened. i’ve been meaning to write this fic for years, and i finally gathered the willpower to write it all out. i don’t know if i properly followed the post-musical summoning rules but tbh i just wrote this bc i wanna fuck beetlejuice and i didn’t do a lot of lore checking, apologies. i hope y’all enjoy regardless, this demon needs to be dommed so bad and i was more than happy to provide the scenario. anyways, you know the drill: if you’re good with all the tags and are 18+, please enjoy!
You can’t clearly remember the moment you realized that taking up residence in the Maitland/Deetz household was going to be more than you bargained for. The living family was eccentric enough, let alone the fact that they were currently cohabiting with a friendly ghost family. You had to be willing to accept a lot of zany things very quickly when you went in to sign the paperwork to rent out the mansion’s spare bedroom, and you’d say that you’ve taken everything in stride so far, all things considered. Charles and Delia Deetz were nice enough and stayed out of your business just as you did with theirs. They had been a bit strapped for cash after their investment in a gated neighborhood fell through, and it seemed as though they were happy enough to make some money off of renting out their guest bedroom to a sane person who mostly kept to themself. It was a win for everyone, so you got along just fine. Their daughter, Lydia Deetz, was less into staying out of your way, but she wasn’t rude about it by any means. She seemed to just be an eccentric teen who was curious about the person living in her house, and you’d gladly indulge her out-of-the-box conversation topics about the newest death metal bands and join her for an occult ritual or two. Classic teen stuff.
Of course, sharing a house with a living family was one thing, but adding a ghost family to the mix definitely livened things up (ironically). Adam and Barbara Maitland, also known as the previous owners of the house who had suffered a tragic premature death, were not what you expected from real life ghosts. It’s hard to say what you did expect when that bombshell was dropped on you, but it definitely wasn’t two polite suburban Millennials that felt more like a caricature of a couple you’d meet at a vegan farmers’ market than restless spirits haunting their old house. It was a wild day when you met them, assuming that Lydia was having a bit of fun with you when she’d ominously warned you that their house was haunted. But no, she was certainly not, as the couple took your moving-in day as their chance to formally introduce themselves. You didn’t actually believe that they were truly dead until Adam walked through a wall for you days later. Despite being slightly bummed that they didn’t look like the classic ghost with little wispy tails for feet, you were also a bit relieved that, although ghosts definitively exist, they can be just as friendly and unremarkable as any human. Not to say it as a knock against them, you actually found yourself hanging out with the Maitlands more than anyone else in the house. Against all odds, they were the most normal and down-to-earth ones in the whole household, and you were grateful to have them as housemates.
You got to hear all about how they got to the living arrangement they had now, and if you weren’t already rooming with ghosts, you’d have considered it too unbelievable to be true. But you’re glad to hear how well everyone seems to be doing with this new living arrangement, especially Lydia, who it seems had a really rough time of it right after her mom died. All things considered, you were beginning to really enjoy living in such a crazy house with such colorful personalities around you, all unique but living in harmony. Well. At least until he showed up.
You’d been warned that he does this from time to time. Part of their story told how he went from full-on antagonist to the weird uncle of the family, now popping in whenever he felt like it, often unannounced. He always claimed it was just to check in on his favorite mixed-life family, but in reality, it was mostly just to bother everybody.
As long as you live and die, you’ll never forget the first time he’d made one of his surprise visits after you’d moved in. You’d been sitting alone at the long dining room table, minding your own business as you typed away at important work on your laptop, fully lost in your task. Important files for your work lined your screen, all perfectly organized and sorted through after a long day’s work. But then, with no warning, your laptop’s display had changed to a blue screen, causing your eyes to widen in horror as you realized that it had fully died on you and probably lost all of your progress. You felt yourself choke out a horrible sound of despair, before a hand seemingly appeared from nowhere and pulled the blue screen back as though furling up a classroom projector screen, revealing your undisturbed desktop behind it.
“Woah, that was almost a really expensive mistake,” a gruff but playful voice laughed, coming from right next to you. “I forget how touchy technology can be when it comes to spirit energy. My bad, heh.”
You had whipped your head to the side to see a disheveled-looking man with bright green hair dressed in a black-and-white striped suit that looked like it needed to be washed and dry cleaned about 10 years ago. He was grimy, but almost purposefully grimy. Like it was part of his aesthetic. You’d seen some wild happenings in this house, but the sudden materialization of this random weird guy in the dining room was the first to leave you speechless.
“W-what…how…you just….” If first impressions truly were everything, he’d surely always think of you as the pinnacle of eloquence.
The stranger grinned at your reaction, obviously a bit pleased with himself. “No words, huh? Wouldn’t be the first time, I do tend to inspire that reaction in people. My undeniable charms aside, who are you? Some long-lost Deetz cousin visiting from WhoTheFuckKnowsVille or something?”
You finally regained enough of your speech abilities to respond just in time. “Uh, no. Just…renting the spare bedroom. No relation.” There was a moment of silence as he looked at you inquisitively, before you remembered your manners. “Um, I’m (Y/N). Am I right to assume that you’re Beetlejuice?” Hey, why do I need to have manners after he almost just fried my laptop? Your bitter thoughts go unfortunately unanswered.
He looked positively elated at your words, his dark eyes visibly lighting up as he sidled up next to you in your chair, ignoring the fact that it was clearly only made for one person. “Oh, wonderful! I get to skip the charades part with you. You’re already my new favorite person just for that, you don’t know how much I hate playing guessing games when the answer hasn’t changed in hundreds of years. But yes, that’s my name, don’t wear it out. Unless you want to see me. Then all you gotta do is say it three times in a row, and I’m there, baby. Morning or night, rain or shine.” Boy, this guy talks a lot.
You nodded slowly, still bewildered. “Ah, alright. Sounds good. Did you…need anything?” You couldn’t, for the life of you, get an idea of what Beetlejuice would be doing here.
He huffed noncommittally. “Well, usually I come around to see everyone here, since the Netherworld gets reeeaaaalllly boring. But lately, Lydia’s gone so much at school, and my old flames Adam and Barbara don’t always have time for lil ol’ me anymore…” He made a pitiful little face and rested his head on your shoulder, acting like a kicked dog. Despite his bad manners and lack of personal space, you felt a piece of yourself feel bad for the demon. Looking back, that was your first mistake.
“Hey, don’t be upset. I know we just met, but if you come by and nobody’s here, I could always…hang out? For a bit?” And that was mistake number two.
His full demeanor shifted in an instant, as though you’d activated a switch on him that could never be turned off. “Really? You’d spend time? With me?” For a demon, he did have very effective puppy dog eyes. If you weren’t locked in on what you said before, you had to be now, looking him in the eye as he turned his full body towards you, inches from your face.
“Sure, I’m usually just hanging out around the house getting work done anyway. I could use a little company sometimes.” It felt more like you were talking yourself into this decision rather than him.
“Oh friend, you won’t regret it! We’ll have such a nice time together, I can just feel it. Don’t ask where, heh.” He pulled out a small business card from thin air and slid it smoothly between your fingers. “And remember babes, you want me, you just call my name. I wouldn’t keep someone as smokin’ as you waiting. Not like I have a choice.” Snickering to himself, he’d disappeared in a flash, leaving you with your head spinning as you wondered exactly what you’d agreed to.
As time passed, you found that you didn’t even need to call his name for Beetlejuice to show up in the middle of your day and start pestering you. Eventually, it got to a point where, even when the other members of the family were around, he’d still choose to hang around you over them at times. After a good while, you got to a point where you nearly forgot that calling his name three times would summon him due to how often he popped in of his own volition with no warning at all. And somehow, he only ever seemed to do this on days where you had something that really needed to get done, never just on a day where you were already lazing about on the couch and eating snacks. No, instead, he acted like a bored cat with no sense of responsibility whose only goal was to distract you, and it’s a goal that he prided himself in succeeding at through various methods. Turning your pencil into a baby sandworm, making the keys on your laptop keyboard detach and float away, grabbing whatever you’re working on and zipping it up in a pocket dimension for a few minutes. One time, he straight up ate an important stack of papers from your desk whole because you weren’t looking when he told you he was about to do a cool trick. Anything to rile you up and steal your attention for a bit.
You find yourself in another situation like that on today of all days, when you’re swamped in assignments and don’t have a moment to spare. You can already feel his unseen eyes watching you as you sit hunched over your large desk-vanity, checking out what you’re up to before he acts. You’ve developed almost a sixth sense for detecting him when he’s invisible at this point, but somehow knowing that he’s secretly here just makes your heart race faster. There’s no feeling quite like trying to predict the first move of a master scarer while he’s in the room, but you quickly decide to put a stop to it today.
“I know you’re there, Beetlejuice,” you say, clear and stern. It would really emphasize how serious and non-playful you’re feeling today, if not for the way the corners of your mouth turn upwards of their own accord. Fight though you might, your body always gives away how much you enjoy the little games you two play. You allow your eyes to slowly wander away from your glowing laptop screen to stare at the large mirror in front of you, hoping to catch a glimpse of his figure lurking behind you and catch him before he can put whatever plan he has into action. Just as you’re scanning the reflection for anything that seems off, your vision is engulfed by a sharp toothy grin manifesting in front of you from within the mirror.
“Boo.”
He can barely get the first syllable out uninterrupted before you’re screaming and jumping back so far that you nearly fall backwards out of your chair, only catching your balance at the last moment. You turn your fiery gaze up to his smug face, still sticking halfway out of your mirror.
“You rat bastard!” You’re panting so hard that you can’t even think of a clever insult for him outside of playground swears, which only seem to egg him on.
He flutters his eyelashes innocently. “Aww, you liked it that much? Well, I hope it was as good for you as it was for me. There’s plenty more where that came from, heh.” He sticks a long, snake-like striped tongue out of his mouth as if to cheekily punctuate his statement.
Despite yourself, you feel your face beginning to flush at his suggestive behavior and turn your back on the mirror to conceal your expression. You don’t want to admit it, but over the past few months, you had developed an issue even bigger than the simple annoyance of a demon constantly pestering you: you found yourself feeling really attracted to Beetlejuice’s stupid face and mannerisms. Even though he was insufferable, he was also undeniably cute and charismatic in a strange way, and he always managed to get you riled up in more ways than one through his teasing. This would only make you all the more bothered by his antics, which in turn would make him want to press your buttons even more. It was a vicious cycle that only ever ended up in you feeling a unique mix of irritated and hot under the collar after he left. Why, why was I cursed with attraction to this rude little gremlin man? He’s gross, and crude, and annoying…and yet.
You wrinkle your nose to dismiss your thoughts, still looking away from Beetlejuice. “So did you come just to make sure I don’t get these assignments turned in on time, or what?”
“Or…what.” Out of the corner of your eye, you see him slide out of the mirror like a long snake, coming back up to full height standing next to your chair. “You know how lonely I get in the stupid Netherworld, so checking up on my faaaavorite little breather is a great way to fill my social meter.” He gets a little too close to your ear, stretching out that “favorite” into almost a growl, and you practically stop breathing trying to minimize the shiver that overtakes your body. Fuck this guy’s stupid sexy voice.
Hoping he didn’t notice your reaction, you turn your body to face him and stand up from your chair defiantly, face to face with his usual shit-eating grin. “What, you just don’t talk to anybody else in this house anymore? It feels like you only ever visit me nowadays, and I really have no idea what I’ve done to be cursed with the privilege of being your favorite human.”
Beetlejuice looks up thoughtfully, as though truly trying to figure out how this relationship came to be, bringing his face closer still to yours. “Well, you are the only person who’s ever voluntarily offered to spend quality time with me.” The answer is so earnest and straightforward, it steals the next witty retort from your lips and you just gawk at him, inches away. His eyes quickly dart down. “Hm, plus, you do have the best tits I’ve seen in a few centuries.” There it is.
You roll your eyes and groan, gently pushing his face away from you with your entire hand, only for him to lick a long stripe down your palm with his tongue. “Ugh, you are so gross!” You relent and move to wipe your hand on your shirt instead.
“Only for you, babes,” he coos with half-lidded eyes.
“That is demonstrably false.”
“Ok fine, how about: especially for you?”
“Well, it’s closer to the truth at least.” You fold your arms and cock your head. “What did you wanna do, then?”
“Oh, you should know better than to give me so much control here, (Y/N). There’s a lotta things I’d like to do with you.” He runs his tongue over fanged teeth teasingly, causing your heart to race once again. Beetlejuice really is a demon without a doubt, because he’s perfectly created my own personal hell. He must be some kind of divine punishment for my wrongdoings. A sexy demon who flirts with me endlessly, and I have to just be normal about it because there’s no way he’s serious. Maybe I burned down orphanages in a past life to deserve this.
“Yeah, you’re right. You’d probably turn me inside out or something fucked up if you got the freedom of choice. I’ll pick, then.” You quickly scan your brain for the quickest, most painless way to get him out of your hair. “How about a game?”
His face lights up with mischief. “Twister?”
“No,” you respond flatly.
“Spin the bottle?”
“No.”
“Hungry Hungry Hippos?”
“N-what? How is that even-“
“Oh, it’s not a euphemism, I just genuinely like that one.”
You sigh in defeat. “Ok, no to all of those. I was thinking more along the lines of The Quiet Game. You sit over there and be quiet, and I sit over here and get my work done, and if you stay quiet the whole time, we can watch a movie or something afterwards.” You say all of this knowing very well that it’s a pipe dream. Even if he were to be totally silent, Beetlejuice would have no problem finding new and inventive ways to torment you. He’s quite talented at that, as both of you are keenly aware.
Upon hearing your proposal, Beetlejuice furrows his brow and wrinkles his nose in a way similar to a petulant child about to throw a tantrum. “The Quiet Game? Are you serious, I-hmph, well, I can tell when I’m not wanted! I don’t need your pity games, I have plenty of exciting and important work things to do myself, like…um. Well, I’d have to check my dossier, but I’m sure there’s plenty of ‘em!” He spins away from you dramatically, drooping his shoulders to appear more pathetic. It works, unfortunately.
Your gaze softens slightly as you take a step towards him. “Beej, c’mon, it’s not that I don’t wanna hang out, I just really need to finish-“
“Yeah, yeah, human work, I know it.” He whirls around to poke at your chest accusingly. “Well, don’t let me be a roadblock to you, Professor Workaholic. I’ll remove myself from your esteemed presence. Just don’t come crawling back to me when you’ve worked yourself to death! I’ll be too busy. Filing shit. Or whatever.” His voice warbles at the end, and you’re not entirely sure if he’s doing it on purpose or not. He’s not the easiest guy to read, though you do think you catch a flash of purple streaking its way through his otherwise green hair. Without giving you time to respond, Beetlejuice pulls out a pair of scissors and snips a long hole in reality, stepping through it with one last pitiful look at you before flipping you off and stitching it up behind him, causing it to blip out of existence.
Just like that, he’s gone, and you quickly realize that you may not have wanted this outcome as much as you’d thought. He’s a bit abrasive, but he’s not wrong. A break would’ve been good for me, and spending time with him is always…a lot, but never boring. We always have fun together. You groan to yourself, frustrated that your brain has decided to come around only after Beetlejuice had already dipped. Damn, I shouldn’t have let him leave.
Seeing no point in taking a break on your own, you sigh, sit back down, and attempt to keep trucking through your work. It’s mind-numbingly dull, and you keep finding your brain wandering off to thoughts of Beetlejuice. His poor little demon schtick really does work, I can’t stand to think about how sad he looked as he was leaving. His big, expressive eyes…how cute and proud of himself he looked after successfully scaring me earlier…his pointy tongue running across those sharp fangs. Fuck… You find yourself blushing at the mere memory of that last one, your conscious mind pleading that you stop finding it as sexy as you do. But try as you may, there’s no changing the fact that Beetlejuice’s playful antics paired with his handsome face have spelled your doom. You’re down bad, worked up, and all alone. Well, looks like this work won’t be getting done because of Beetlejuice even without him here. Fuck it.
Giving in to your body’s demands, you stand up from the desk chair and head over to your bed, taking your pants off on the way and tossing them haphazardly into a corner to start gathering wrinkles. You have bigger things on your mind at the moment; specifically, imagining what Beetlejuice’s long tongue might feel like dragging across your skin. Feeling goosebumps beginning to rise already, you recline onto the bed and slip your hand into your underwear, wasting no time as you begin rubbing slow circles into your clit. You’re almost embarrassed at the fact that you’re already fairly wet just from thinking about him, but then again, it’s not really that surprising. Ok, yeah, this is exactly what I needed. Well, maybe not exactly. If it was perfect, he’d really be here fucking me. The mere idea of that causes your fingers to speed up their ministrations, attempting to replicate the pleasure your mind is imagining in real time. You’ve been here before, touching yourself at the thought of having sex with that demon, but it’s starting to happen more often than you’d care to admit.
Ignoring your inner voice of shame, you focus your whole energy on getting yourself off, your hips twitching involuntarily as you continue. You’re audibly panting at this point, chasing your release at a fast pace. No need for slow pleasantries, this is just about me relieving some tension. Once I’m done, maybe I’ll actually be able to focus on something besides him. Maybe.
After a short while, you can quickly feel your release approaching as you continue to think of him. You’re so close, you can tell that you’re starting to lose yourself. You imagine his big brown eyes looking up at you, expression clouded with lust. “Mm, Beetlejuice…” His pointed fangs scraping your inner thighs… “Beetlejuice…” His lewd face as you suck his cock... “Beetlejuice!”
“Well, well, well, look who decided to come crawling ba-“
Pulled from the brink, you practically jump straight up in the air from where you lay in bed as you hear a familiar voice, too authentic to be fantasy. You snap your head up to see Beetlejuice standing at the foot of your bed, eyes wider than you’ve ever seen them and streaks of hot pink just starting to tint his hair.
You quickly regain your senses and pull up the covers. “B-BEETLEJUICE?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?”
Beetlejuice, however, is not as fast on the recovery. “I…you…” Slack-jawed and speechless, he stutters out a few syllables that somewhat resemble words before shaking his head as if to clear his brain. “H-hang on, you’re the one who summoned me!”
“What? Don’t be ridiculous, I…” Your world suddenly comes crashing down on you with the weight of a thousand bricks. “…did. Oh, God, I did…” Your face begins to turn red hot, the obvious implications of this scenario making you want to pass away on the spot. Nope, not even death would help me get out of this one.
You can practically see the gears in Beetlejuice’s head turning, albeit slowly. “You…you summoned me? You called out my name three times. While…” The sudden lightbulb moment is very visible as his hand moves to cover his mouth and dozens more streaks of neon pink suddenly overtake his hair, his face darkening to match. For a moment, you worry that you’ve broken him, only for the demon to finally meet your gaze with a goofy grin that only spreads wider by the moment. “You like me, don’t you?”
“Obviously, dipshit!” You grab a decorative pillow from next to you and toss it at his head, which he easily dodges. You can only think to react with righteous indignation, despite the fact that this situation really is entirely your fault. Probably a defense mechanism to shield yourself from the fact that you’d really love to melt into a puddle on the floor right now.
Beetlejuice, on the other hand, seems far more elated about this than you’d ever expected, practically jumping around for joy. “You do! You really do like me! And it’s gotta be a lot, considering the fact that you like me enough to call out my name when you masturbate, heh. Do you do that often, or did I just do really well at seducing you today?” He strikes a mock sexy pose as if to prove his point.
Despite the added embarrassment of him calling you out so easily, you sit up straighter and raise an eyebrow inquisitively. “You’re…not mad?”
Beetlejuice looks practically bewildered at the very notion. “Me? Mad? Why would I be mad? I’ve been flirting with you so hard that I was offering to drop your panties since the day we met, and you think I’d be mad to see that you wanted it to happen just as bad as I did? Wow, you humans really are funny sometimes.”
“Wait, you were being serious? I thought you acted like that with everyone.”
He opens his mouth to defend himself, closes it after a moment of silence, and then moves to coyly rub his neck instead. “Ok, yeah, when you put it like that, I can see where the confusion comes in here. But yes, I meant everything I said! And I mean everything, babes.” He waggles his eyebrows for ridiculous punctuation.
You blink up at him in shock. No fucking way this is happening. No way is this demon freely admitting that he wants to have sex with me right back, no jokes anywhere to be seen. This must be a dream.
But Beetlejuice is still standing at the end of your bed, real as ever, and beginning to look more than a little bit antsy. “So, um…you gonna invite me to join you, or just make me watch? ‘Cuz to be honest, I, uh, wouldn’t hate either outcome here, so long as I can stay.”
You have a decision to make. You could say his name three times right now to banish him and never speak of this incident again as long as you both shall live and die, or you could finally get to live out the fantasies that have been plaguing you ceaselessly as of late. In the end, it isn’t even really a choice when the best answer is so easily clear.
Your eyes flick up to meet his. “Come here. On your knees.”
Beetlejuice’s face lights up at this command. “Oho, you don’t have to ask me twice!” With that, he practically dives to the floor at your bedside, looking up at you expectantly.
You smile slightly, turning to face Beetlejuice and slide your lower torso out from under the sheets to hang your legs off the side of the bed. Before he can say something lewd, you move to cup his face with your hands. Immediately, he seems taken aback at your gentle action from the stunned, blinking look on his face. Smiling softly, you begin rubbing his beard with your thumbs in a way that makes his eyes roll back into his head a bit. Boy, is he touch-starved. Let’s fix that.
Without another word, you lean in and bring your lips to his, giving him a fairly sweet kiss that he absolutely melts into. You never would’ve expected it of a demon, but Beetlejuice really does have the softest lips you’ve ever kissed, and returns the energy you give him tenfold. It’s pretty cute how much a simple kiss seems to affect him, and you aren’t complaining as you feel his sharp teeth scrape your lips, either. You part your lips a bit to allow his tongue entrance, and he accepts the invitation immediately. His inhumanly long tongue slips in your mouth, wrapping around and rubbing against your tongue almost like a tentacle or other complex appendage. You scrunch up your face at the intrusion, not bad, but strange how it feels as though it’s investigating your mouth of its own accord, prodding and rubbing at you. It’s definitely different from kissing a regular human, but it’s pretty hot, so you’re not complaining by any means. After a few moments, you feel the need to break away and come up for air, panting for breath while Beetlejuice just kneels there in front of you motionless, like he’s just had a particularly amazing out-of-body experience.
After getting a good amount of air into your lungs, you give a small fond smile at his flustered demeanor. “Oh, Beetlejuice, I’m sorry I was so dismissive of you earlier,” you soothe, moving one hand to stroke his neon hair. “You were really just looking out for me, weren’t you?”
He audibly gulps. “Y-yeah…”
“Aw, you really are sweet. I shouldn’t have been so mean to you, baby.”
The more affectionate words you say, the less composed he is as he speaks, made clear by his bright red face and dopey grin. “Heh, s’okay…I kinda like it when you’re mean to me…” Beetlejuice averts his gaze and sinks his face into your hand as he says this. His words are so muffled that they’re almost unintelligible, but you manage to make them out just fine.
“Oh? You do? You really like it when I’m mean to you?” He nods his head quickly, still looking down in embarrassment. Well, this is already going better than I could’ve ever hoped. “Hm, I think I can do that for you. How about you show me how good that tongue really feels, to start off?” You spread your legs suggestively, his head at the perfect level.
Beetlejuice bites his lip in anticipation, his shyness melting away as he’s reminded of getting you off. “Oh yeah, I’ll show you, alright. You have no idea what you’re in for, babes. I’m well-known for my skills in this field, you’ll have the time of y-mmph!” His blathering is interrupted by you grabbing the black tie that hangs around his neck and tugging him closer to you with a swift motion, drawing a whimper from the demon.
“Can’t talk and eat pussy at the same time.”
“Mm, y-you underestimate my abilities…” Beetlejuice always has to have the last word, but he at least doesn’t waste any more time. Tentatively, he slides both of his clawed hands up from your knees to your inner thighs, spreading your legs a bit more to allow more room for his head to fit between them. Your underwear is still on, albeit completely soaked through, which he seems to note with a quiet smug look up at you. In one swift move, he hooks two clawed fingers from each hand around the narrowest strip of the fabric on the sides of your thighs and pulls the garment down slowly, never once breaking eye contact. You’re filled with a nerve-wracking sensation of nakedness as he does this, not just physically, but on a deeper level too. You never realized how deeply revealing it is to have someone watching your expression so shamelessly, gauging your exact reaction as he undresses you. It makes you feel transparent and fully see-through, like a ghost.
Finally, Beetlejuice slips your underwear off of your body fully, twirling it around one of his fingers in pride before pulling back and slingshotting it away with reckless abandon. Returning his head to rest right between your thighs, where there is nothing blocking him from his goal now. You half-expect a stupid remark now that he’s finally right where he’s been aching to be, but he takes you by surprise by just staring at your body in silent reverence for a moment. It’s almost eerie to hear such a long silence from Beetlejuice, who’s made it his full-time career to annoy you up to this point, but it’s kind of flattering at the same time. After a few beats, he seems to shake himself out of his own stupor and looks up at you with a more familiar lopsided smirk.
Before either of you can say anything, he seems to remember that he was given a job to do and begins to unfurl that tongue that you’ve been daydreaming so much about. At full length, it’s about a foot long, forked and striped, always looking like it’s moving of its own accord like a dark slimy tentacle. You’ve seen him loll it out before, so you know good and well what it looks like, but that was always when Beetlejuice was trying to entertain you by acting silly or creepy. In a situation like this, however, it was almost enough to make you feel faint. Consequences be damned, this is the best decision I’ve ever made.
Ever a creature of impatience, Beetlejuice leans down to lick a long, slow stripe starting at the bottom of your pussy and working his way to the top, right up the middle. As soon as he makes contact, you feel as though an electric shock has shot through your lower abdomen. The first thing that your mind registers is how surprisingly cold his tongue is. Sometimes you forget that he’s not a living human and doesn’t have the natural warmth that you’ve come to expect from people. Instead, his body has a natural chilliness to it, and you’ve wondered before if that’s a demon trait or just a Beetlejuice-specific quirk. Either way, the feeling of his long, cold tongue on your pussy is delightfully shocking enough to excite you even more than you could’ve ever expected. He gives another long lick and your hips buck in time without any input from your conscious mind, and you cover your mouth to stifle a moan. Is it just because I was already close, or is Beetlejuice’s tongue actually just the best thing I’ve ever felt in my life?
You don’t get much time to consider this, however, as Beetlejuice notices your full-body reaction, chuckles darkly, and quickly dives back in for more. This time, he’s in it to prove himself, pushing more of his long tongue out to efficiently swirl all around your pussy, going at a speed that would be impossible for a normal human with a normal-length tongue. It’s practically chaotic, but it feels so all-consumingly good that you throw your head back, overwhelmed by the sensation. You reach to grab at his hair, which only seems to spurn him on to move faster, his tongue practically spasming as it writhes against you. It brushes over your inner thighs, your entrance, your clit, practically all of the above at once because of its length, and it’s starting to bring you back to your precipice at an alarming rate.
“F-fuck, Beej…don’t stop, whatever you do, please...” You pull at his hair with more force, putting some power behind your command and drawing a needy whine from the demon. To his credit, he doesn’t stop, and seems to be doing his best to speed up his already-fast work.
If his expression is anything to go by, Beetlejuice seems to take a deep pride in how greatly he’s affecting you in such little time, and he whimpers out little words in between his ministrations. “You-“ He laps at your clit with his pointed tip. “Taste-“ He teases your entrance with the broad side of his tongue. “Delicious…” He draws most of his tongue back into his mouth, only to learn forward to suck on your clit with his whole mouth, his beard tickling your inner thighs as he does.
You’re beyond the point of words, but your thighs tighten around his head to wordlessly show him how close you are. You close your eyes to find a moment’s reprieve from the overstimulation, but when you reopen them, you inadvertently lock eyes with Beetlejuice as he continues to suckle at your clit. You’re blown away by the intense way he looks up at you; his eyelashes are obscuring his eyes in a way that makes him look absolutely beautiful, and weirdly enough, almost sweet and innocent at this angle. This is the moment when you distantly realize you’ve fully lost your mind, but you don’t have long to come to terms with your newfound insanity as your orgasm builds at an exponential rate. Suppressing a lewd sound, you grab fistfuls of his hair, grappling for any sort of leverage as your hips begin to buck against his face and your orgasm is suddenly crashing down on you with the force of a tidal wave. You lean down and wrap your arms around him for fear that you may topple over, still keeping the same tight grip on his hair, which causes his head to pull back forcefully and his face to turn upwards. Your nails dig into his scalp as you ride out the pleasure, eventually releasing his hair when you collapse against his form, your arms draping over his back and chest pressed to his head, feeling boneless and overwhelmingly good. You lean against him for a good few moments, trying to catch your breath and sit back up at the same time.
Beetlejuice stirs slightly beneath you. “No need to rush. I’m doing great right where I am right now. Really, take your time.” You raise an eyebrow, only to quickly realize that your chest is, in fact, pressed directly up against his face. You snort, but remain still for the moment. The only movements in your body are the intense thumps of your heart and the gentle stroking of your hands in Beetlejuice’s hair. After what feels like minutes, you finally pull away from him and prop yourself upright to survey the situation. Specifically, you take in eyefuls of the demon trembling below you, who is looking up at you with a hazy Cheshire grin, licking his lips and very obviously straining against his pants.
You grin salaciously down at where Beetlejuice kneels, reveling in how much you’ve already affected him. “Aw, I bet you’ve been so horny this whole time and still ate me out first without a word. What a good boy.”
His eyes widen. “Fuck, babes…” Beetlejuice openly palms at his clothed dick, making you start to feel warmth between your legs yet again. “S-say that again.”
“That’s not how you ask for something.”
His eyes dart downward as he lets out a shaky sound beneath you, then slowly tilts his head up to meet your gaze. “Please.” The way he whines out the plea is enough to get you a little bit drunk on power. Jesus Christ, this man is gonna be the death of me.
“That’s my good boy.” You hold back a shiver at his immediate and audible reaction. “You really must have wanted this for awhile, the way you’re doing everything I tell you to do so well.”
Beetlejuice moans softly, making no effort to stifle it. “W-well, you did summon me, doll. It’s my job now to make sure you’re totally happy with my work. So, whaddaya say…satisfied with my professional work ethic yet?” He sticks the tip of his tongue out teasingly, eyes lidded.
You giggle at his antics, just as present during sex as they are always. If anything, you’re impressed with his restraint since, so far, he hasn’t pulled any wild reality-bending nonsense to fuck with you while he’s…well, fucking you. “Oh, absolutely. I’d give you a five star review on LinkedIn, no doubt about it.”
He snickers, smiling so wide that his fangs are easily visible. “Hell yeah.”
Looking at him fondly, you move your right hand to untangle itself from his hair and move to scratch at his beard, which Beetlejuice leans into appreciatively. “But y’know, I’m not selfish. You seem a little worked up there, huh? I’d never leave my favorite demon to deal with that all by himself, especially after how good you were to me.” Your hand moves down from his beard, coming to rest on his chest. “How’s about it then, bug boy? You want my hands on your cock?”
Beetlejuice’s big brown eyes are as wide as saucers, and his hair is so vibrantly hot pink that you’re sure it would be blinding in better lighting. “Yes. Please. Oh God, (Y/N), I need you so bad. If you don’t touch me, I’m gonna die and go to whatever’s after the Netherworld, I’m serious.”
“Well, I definitely don’t want that!” You sigh fondly at his dramatics, then pat the space on the bed next to you. “Come on up, I want you right here with me. And lose some of those clothes on the trip up, you’re making me feel underdressed for the occasion.”
“Y-yeah, I can do that.” He wasn’t lying, you really don’t have to ask him twice. He immediately begins shrugging off his iconic striped jacket and slips his suspenders from his shoulders, leaving only his partially-unbuttoned undershirt and tie on below it. He crawls up onto the bed and sits back next to you, mirroring your posture with an air that’s much more shy. Once he’s up, he unbuttons his striped pants and pulls them down enough for his growing erection to be free of their confines, though still trapped in his underwear (also striped, points for staying true to theme). You’d have expected Beetlejuice to be overly confident and full of himself in a situation like this, but now that you’re both in it, this reality-bending, all-powerful demon looks…small. Nervous. Averting your gaze. You feel a need to reassure him overtake you.
“Hey, Beetlejuice? You alright? I know I talk big, but…we don’t have to do anything that you’re not comfortable with.” You rest a comforting hand on his shoulder.
Beetlejuice snaps his head up towards you with a wary expression. “No, it’s not that I…I mean, it’s just that…even though I say it, I’ve never…really…” He pauses his jumbled words to collect his thoughts. “It’s different…to have attention on yourself…I guess.” He sighs in frustration and looks away. “Ugh, this is ridiculous. I do want this, I swear I do. I’m just being…stupid.”
“Hey, this isn’t stupid. I’m serious, don’t say that.” You never would’ve expected this level of self-doubt and anxiety from the demon that literally held everybody else in this house captive during a temper tantrum once, but it just goes to show you can’t judge a book by its war crimes. “What can I do to make it better?”
Beetlejuice looks back to you with a vulnerable expression that you wouldn’t have thought him capable of. “Just…keep doing what you normally do, I guess. Like I said, the problem here is me.” He’s quiet for a contemplative moment. “Ugh, I can’t believe I’m going to say this out loud, so if you ever tell anybody, I’ll feed you alive to a sandworm. For real.”
“I won’t, I promise.” You cross your heart for good measure, making his eyes soften their wary gaze.
“Ok, the thing is, most people have never really…liked me. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, heh. But it’s true, everyone that’s ever summoned me has just used me up for my power and hated me the whole time while doing it. Even if I tried to roll over and do whatever it took to appeal to them, it never worked, so I figured, might as well just do whatever I want if they’ll hate me either way. So that’s what I’ve done, and it made me kinda…not like me, either. I mean, my own mother thought I was a disappointment, so that’s pretty pathetic, right? The closest I got to a friendship was when Lydia summoned me, but I went and messed that up, too. But…” He pushes his forehead against your shoulder so he won’t have to look you in the eye, purple quickly overtaking his hair. “You seemed to like being around me, right? At least a little bit? And I guess I just didn’t want you to see all of me and decide you…didn’t like it, like everyone else. It’s one thing if I do something for you, but I guess it’s…weirdly scarier to let you do things for me. If you do, it’s like I’m not being…useful, or something. See, you can see how ridiculous this sounds, so that’s why it’s just a me being dumb problem.”
You stay quiet for a moment, taking in Beetlejuice’s first words from vulnerable standpoint with you. You don’t want to say the wrong thing and make him regret ever opening up, so you ponder all of the occasions that you’ve spent time with him and bring your hands up to pet his head reassuringly. He can get on my nerves, but for all of his button pushing, I always look forward to his company. He’s silly, and fun, and even unexpectedly sweet at times. “Well…I can agree that it’s a you being wrong problem, at least. Because I do love being around you, Beetlejuice. And I’m sorry that people have made you feel less-than in the past, but I think they’re idiots for missing out on the fun of getting to know you. You don’t need to be “useful” to keep me from leaving, I want to do nice things for you too, no conditions attached. I like you. I want you. You’re perfect as you are.” You press a tender kiss to his forehead.
If Beetlejuice disagrees, he doesn’t say. Instead, he pushes his face into the crook of your neck, trembling enough that you can feel it against your body. “I love you.”
You try to hide how taken aback you are by his words, electing to wrap your arms around him to conceal it. “I love you too.” And the two of you stay just like that for an impossible to determine amount of time, just holding each other gently. You feel wetness against your neck but say nothing and silently hope that you’re doing this right. He loves me. He really said it himself.
After some time, Beetlejuice pulls back and you can finally look at that cute face you’re so fond of again. His expression is sheepish and his hair painted in a gradient of light pink to magenta, tinges of purple confined to the tips of his hair at this point. “Sorry, I ruined the mood there. Not a lotta guys can have a breakdown with their pants down, but as you can see, I am a man of many talents.” His voice is soft, but sounding steadier and more comfortable than it did a few moments before.
You chuckle softly. “Hey, you didn’t ruin anything. I still had no plans of using you for myself only to leave you high and dry.”
“Heh, you mean it?”
“Of course, I mean, as long as you’re up for it.”
“Oh hell yeah, I can bare my soul and still be horny. I can multitask.” A familiar grin lights up his face at the sound of your laughter, his usual personality returning to him bit by bit.
“Good, I still had a lot of things I wanted to do with you. But seriously, if you change your mind at any point, please just tell me. I want you to be comfortable and enjoy yourself, so if you’re not ready, that’s ok.” Part of you realizes that he’s an all-powerful demon who could easily put a stop to anything at a moment’s notice if he felt like it, but another part told you to be extra kind and considerate with him. You want him to know that although he could forcibly end anything he disliked with his powers, he didn’t have to feel the need to use force. You would always respect the power of his words just as much.
He raises his eyebrows. “Heh, look at you, caring about me ‘n’ shit. That works for me, but what, are you plannin’ on tying me up and blindfolding me? Some real kinky shibari shit?”
You pretend to think about it, tapping your chin. “Hm, maybe not this time.” You begin kissing along Beetlejuice’s jawline, stubble scratching at your face as you do. You take the moment to scooch the two of you away from the edge and closer to the center of the bed, with him sitting up against your pillows. Once he’s comfortable, you crawl over to straddle his lap, causing him to groan out a beautiful sound below you. You finally remove your top, ridding yourself of your last piece of clothing before getting to work on him.
“Nice,” Beetlejuice half-whispers, having been watching you slowly peel your shirt off as though he were studying for a test.
“Hey, sounds like I might’ve secured myself that five star review too.”
“Oh fuck yeah, by tits alone. Don’t get me started on everything else, they haven’t even invented a grading scale that goes that high yet.”
You giggle, leaning down to softly kiss his lips and scratch at his beard. Beetlejuice immediately melts to your touch and tilts his head up, giving you easy access to begin trailing downward slowly with your kisses. You move to place kisses along his neck, drinking in the soft sounds that are forming in his throat and causing your lips to vibrate ever so slightly from the rumbles beneath them. Taking your sweet time, you kiss down to just above his collarbone and begin loosening his tie to get at him better. Once it’s wide enough, you slip it overtop his head and let it fall onto the sheets, then you unbutton the last few buttons of his undershirt so that that can slide off of his shoulders as well. Mimicking him from earlier, you chuck the shirt away haphazardly with a satisfied grin.
“Hey, watch the suit, doll,” he quips, with absolutely no bite behind the words. If anything, he just seems a bit breathless. I didn’t think he needed to breathe. Is he just doing that to egg me on?
“I’d rather watch what’s under it, thanks.” You scrunch up your nose playfully and return to your barrage of kisses, happy to now have his bare torso to work with.
“Wow. I’d normally roll my eyes at that, but I’m actually kinda flattered that you’re using lines that are so dumb, they sound like they came from me.”
“Yeah, your Beetlejuice-isms are contagious.” Without his suit, you can better admire that his stomach and arms are a good mix of soft and round and chubby but also pretty strong, giving him a really cute body that you’re getting a bit sick of not having your hands on. Immediately moving to rectify the situation, you pepper kisses and lightly suckle along Beetlejuice’s collarbone. You relish in the heavy rise and fall of his chest under you before moving downward to flick your tongue across his nipple. You’re immediately rewarded with a high-pitched gasp as he arches his back slightly, sending you the cutest pleading look right after. You’re unsure if he’s aware of how strong that kind of positive reinforcement is, but he’ll probably figure it out quickly since you’re already dragging your tongue across his nipple again, bringing one hand up to brace yourself against his bicep and trailing the other down his stomach with one slow, featherlight touch.
Beetlejuice snorts out a giggle between his more lewd sounds and covers his stomach protectively. “H-hey, careful now, I’m ticklish…and add that to the list of things you are not allowed to share with anyone, ever, under any circumstances.”
You chuckle. “I promise.” He looks utterly unconvinced but just pouts his lip wordlessly in embarrassment. I’m really not sure if he knows how cute he is and uses it to his advantage or if this just comes naturally to him. Either option is pretty scary. You move your hand back farther down still to finally graze the top of his clothed dick, fingertips dancing lightly against his strained underwear as you move to fully suck on his other nipple.
“Ughh, you’re such a tease,” he chokes out, moving to cover his face with one hand.
You frown. “Hey, don’t hide from me. It’s not fair if you get to look me in the eye while eating my pussy if I can’t do the same for you when I’m being a cocktease.” Begrudgingly, he grumbles something unintelligible and moves his arm out of his face, looking down at you with faux irritation, causing your smile to only widen. “Wow, your face is almost brighter than your hair right now. Wonder what made that happen.” As you speak, you drag your fingers down his shaft with even more pressure, causing him to make a choked sound. Your hips move to grind down on the thigh that you’re currently sitting astride before you can even think twice about it, the quick friction making you bite your lip to hold in a gasp.
“B-babes, I’m begging ya.” Beetlejuice looks unspeakably horny below you, but you can’t quite resist the thrill of making him work for it.
“Huh, that’s weird, cuz I didn’t hear actually any begging at all, Beetlejuice. But that is a good idea, maybe you should try it.”
“Ohhh, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease-”
You bark out a laugh at his immediate and visibly desperate response. If he had any pride before, it seems it had vanished the moment that you first touched him. Taking pity, you finally remove his bottoms completely, feeling quiet satisfaction when his cock is freed and you get to see just how hard he really is. It stands fully erect and leaking precum, matching the color of his flushed face perfectly.
“Y’know, when you actually put in the effort, you’re pretty good at playing nice,” you coo, dragging a single finger up his length from bottom to top.
Beetlejuice represses a shiver and instead lets out a low growl. “Careful, I can still flip you over and rail you into the bed ‘til you can’t speak if I feel like it.”
“Not that a little power struggle with you doesn’t sound awesome, but I have a feeling you won’t do that tonight. Like you said, you want me to be mean to you.” You punctuate your sentence by grabbing his twitching dick and lightly squeezing, enough to make him squirm. “You want to see what I’ll do to you if I have control.” As if challenging him to say otherwise, you begin slowly pumping his cock, looking him directly in the eye as you run your hand up and down his shaft.
Beetlejuice breaks eye contact first, unable to hold your intense gaze as he’s slowly pleasured. “M-maybe, but I still have a good memory. Next time I’m in a more dominating kind of mood, you’ll b-be sorry y-mmph!” Whatever he was about to say is quickly silenced by you running your thumb over the slit of his cock and then immediately picking up the pace of your strokes, causing Beetlejuice to descend into a cacophony of moans that he isn’t even attempting to keep at a reasonable volume level.
You pause your ministrations. “Shh, Beej, other people live here! You want Charles to know you’re getting your shit rocked all the way from his home office? Or the Maitlands in the attic?”
He tilts his head to lean further back into your soft pillows, looking as though he’s truly considering his position on the idea. “Mm, well, my brain is telling me you want to hear a no, but my humiliation kink is just giving me a resounding yes.” This little shit.
You sigh and shake your head, only to catch something you’d forgotten on the bed not long ago out of the corner of your eye. Immediately, you’re struck with a wondrous idea. You grab Beetlejuice’s black tie from where it had been strewn across the bed and ball it up in your hand. Beetlejuice watches you carefully with a confused expression, tilting his head at your handiwork. Once finished, your eyes glisten with a mischief usually more common to his face.
“Open.” With a single word, you cause Beetlejuice’s entire expression to shift into one of shock, but certainly not in a bad way. Surprisingly, he doesn’t say a word, only shoots you what you can only describe as a proud, horny grin and opens his mouth wide, saliva practically dripping from his lips and fangs. This turns you on way more than expected, and you find yourself mentally debating with yourself on whether it’s sexy in a gross way or gross in a sexy way, before ultimately coming back to your senses and stuffing the tie into his mouth as a gag before you could think on this any further.
Beetlejuice adjusts the tie with his tongue to properly fit. He tries to speak, but the only thing that ends up coming out is something like, “Mm fhh dmmm.”
You giggle at his attempt. “Well, if you need to tell me anything important, I think you’ll need to take that out first.” He narrows his eyes in a look that very clearly communicates yeah, no shit. But he doesn’t make any attempt to remove it, so it must not have been very important. Satisfied with your new setup, you return your hand to his cock, pumping as slowly as you had been in the beginning to get him started.
Beetlejuice, however, is not having it. He nearly knocks you off of where you’re straddling him by violently bucking his hips up into your hand. You carefully reposition your naked body as he finds a way to smirk at you through his gag, because of course he can do that. If he can’t make noise, he can easily find another way to make his impatience crystal clear to you.
“I’m sure you think you’re funny, but the more time you spend playing bull-rider, the less likely I am to let you cum anytime soon.” Your words immediately cause his hips to twitch upwards, but he seems to keep himself under better control this time. Of course, knowing Beetlejuice, he’ll probably do it again within the minute if he thinks it’ll push your buttons and/or result in you possibly edging him. You decide to cut him off at the pass by grabbing his dick and vigorously jacking him off without any warning. His eyes practically bug out of his head in surprise before high-pitched moans and squeals start to pour out of him, significantly quieted by the gag in his mouth but still plenty audible enough for you to enjoy. And enjoy you do, keeping up your brutal pace as he squirms deliciously under your touch. Not content to be the only one taken by surprise, he grabs at your chest and begins squeezing with reckless abandon, rolling your nipples under his clawed fingers as he lets out a stifled cry. Between focusing on giving the handjob of your life, drinking in Beej’s reactions, and having your nipples roughly played with, you don’t even realize that you’re rocking your naked pussy against his thigh until you can feel your own arousal rising again.
Though you’re certain you could reach another orgasm if you just keep at it, you decide to slow down so your brain doesn’t fizzle out and forget to focus on making your demon happy. Instead, you lift your body up to bring your face right up to his, slowing your hand motions. Before anything else can happen, you spare yourself a moment to really look at Beetlejuice’s face from slightly below, and what you see in his eyes makes you almost cum untouched. He’s desperately close, almost lost in the sensations you’ve wrapped him in, but still anchored tight to you by gaze alone. If he wasn’t gagged, he would almost certainly be begging again, if he could get any coherent words in between his moans. As it stands, he looks like he’d give you anything in the world right now as long as you keep looking at him and keep touching him. And you’re happy to oblige.
“Gonna cum, Beej? You look preeeetty close.”
He cries out a muffled sound at your words, his hips practically shaking as he wordlessly begs for more, his pleading eyes inches away from your own, scanning your expression for any sign of acquiescence. Fun as it may be to play with him, I shouldn’t toy with him too much for right now. Wouldn’t really be fair after how well he’s treated me.
“Alright.” With a single word, you cease the cruel slow strokes that you’d been teasing him with and swiftly return to the frenzied, messy pumping of his cock that made him arch his back and practically scream beneath his gag. You’re relentless this time, keeping up the sloppy pace while you bring your free hand up to cup his cheek. You would’ve tilted his head to make him look at you, but he’s already been locked onto you since the beginning and you don’t think you’d be able to make him look away now if you tried. You feel dizzy and it’s intoxicating. “Cum for me, Beetlejuice.”
With a moan that almost renders his gag useless and the distant unexplained sound of fabric ripping, Beetlejuice cums hard, coating your hand and belly as you’re leaned over him in a fluid that resembles human semen way more than you actually expected. After fully finishing, he collapses back for a moment, removing the gag from his mouth himself and catching his metaphorical breath. You allow your own worked-up body to lay more comfortably against his chest while he comes down from everything.
“Ok, don’t be mad, I think I may have ripped up your mattress a little bit.” He opens one eye to peek out at you, as though actually expecting you to be angry with him. Sure enough, you look at where his hands were gripping the sheets on either side of him and see distinct, deep claw marks raking down the surface of the bed.
You hum noncommittally to yourself. “Well, I can’t really be mad about something that boosts my ego like that.” Instead you look down at the mess that’s been made of you and consider what to do about it.
Beetlejuice’s eyes follow yours down. “It does glow in the dark, if you were wondering.” His lips twitch upwards, looking quite proud of his fun fact.
“No fuckin’ way.”
“Oh?” Beetlejuice offers a smug smile, then dims the dull lights of your room with his powers until they’ve fully shut off. Sure enough, your entire stomach, hand, and part of your bed is glowing a fluorescent green, his signature shade. He flashes a proud smile at the sight of it. “Told ya so!”
“Ok, color me impressed.” You swipe some of the liquid from your stomach with a finger, studying it inquisitively. “Hey BJ, are you radioactive? If I taste this, will I die?”
Beetlejuice’s face flushes so badly, you can even make it out in this poor lighting. “Uh, no, but I might…”
“Oh, awesome.” You stick the finger of glowing cum in your mouth, relishing the taste of your favorite demon. It’s not too different from a human’s, but it does have a faint taste of sweetness, almost like green apple candy or something. It was certainly fitting for him. “Hey, bring those lights back up, I’m dying to see your mood ring hair unlock new shrimp colors when you see me licking up your cum.”
Wordlessly, Beetlejuice brings back enough light to see each other well in. You’re a bit disappointed to not see any new colors yet undiscovered by man in his hair, but in reality, you may have maxed out the hot pink’s vibrancy today. What you are surprised to see, however, is Beetlejuice’s dick already hardening again as you take another lick of his cum from your palm.
You blink in surprise. “Woah, how are you already getting horny again that fast? Do you have some kind of penis-based superpower that you’ve somehow never mentioned despite you being yourself?”
Beetlejuice lowly chuckles to himself, making shivers run down your back at the tone. “Eh, sort of? See, demons aren’t like humans in that we can all go multiple rounds, regardless of equipment, no problemo. We very often have enormously high libidos that a delicate little breather like you could never hope to keep up with, but hey, you’ve never been one to back down from a challenge.” He raises and lowers his eyebrows like a suggestive idiot.
You absentmindedly play with the tufts of hair behind his ears. “Well, you got me there. I’m down for another round if you are. I’ve wanted to ride you for months now, so the spirit is certainly willing.”
“Fuck yeah I am! I’m beyond willing! As long you know that I’ve got the stamina of a cheetah and can totally outlast you on this.”
“I’m pretty sure cheetahs are known for their great speed but awful stamina.”
“I’m pretty sure I don’t give a shit.”
You give an involuntary snort-laugh at his quick retort, causing the demon to beam at you with unmistakable adoration, gently pushing some loose hair out of your face. It’s almost off-putting to see such an unashamedly wholesome expression plastered across the face of a supernatural being that has spent his existence being feared by so many, but you’d be lying if you said it didn’t also bring you joy unlike any other to be lucky enough to see him like this. So many people didn’t deserve to, and you aren’t exactly sure what you did to become worthy of the privilege, but you won’t question it.
“Here, allow me to level the playing field,” Beetlejuice says, snapping his fingers. You whip your head around the room, but nothing appears to have changed.
“Uh, what exactly did you do?”
“Oh, nothing. I just soundproofed the room for a little bit. I wanna hear you scream, babes.” His eyes narrow at you as his arms engulf you in a light embrace, pulling you closer. His claws come up to rest on your shoulders, the pinpricks pressing against your skin and threatening to break it.
You raise a teasing eyebrow. “You…couldn’t have done that from the beginning?”
“I like the thrill of possibly getting caught, sue me! But hey, if this is what it takes to get you loud, well, I’ll make the sacrifices that I gotta.”
“You really wanna hear me that bad, huh?” Beetlejuice shakes his head so hard it looks as though it should be making a cartoonish sound effect. “Well, I’d honestly love to hear you without that gag too, so I guess we’re in the same boat.” You lift yourself back up to better straddle his naked body again, hovering just above his erect cock and flashing him a sly smile. “Now fuck me, demon boy.”
Beetlejuice’s eyes widen. “Oho, with pleasure.” More than happy to comply, he grabs onto your hips with his clawed hands and gently but firmly maneuvers you down to line up with the head of his dick.
Slowly, you sink down onto him, causing the demon to whine softly below you. After a moment, you’ve fully lowered yourself down and sheathed him inside of you, a full but not at all uncomfortable fit. You give it a moment of stillness to adjust before rocking your hips a bit, feeling his dick twitch inside of your cunt as you do. He immediately reacts by moaning loudly and snapping his hips up against you like a man possessed.
“Fuck, Beej…” You groan at almost a growl pitch, the feeling of him moving inside you almost too much at once.
“Mm…could do better…that sound was only maybe a three outta ten. I’ll have to-mmph-up my game.” God, it is just like this guy to make pleasuring me into a game. I guess I’m not complaining, though. As if on cue with your thoughts, Beetlejuice grabs your back just below the shoulder blades to quickly pull you in close to his chest, his claws applying enough force to definitely leave some red marks in their wake but not enough to hurt badly. The sudden dig of his claws only causes you to start rocking your hips at a faster pace, making it plainly obvious how much you enjoy him handling you so roughly.
“Y-you can try, but I doubt you’ll be able to hear me over yourself soon.”
Beetlejuice responds with silence, which you’ve learned usually means he’s planning to do something that he doesn’t want you to know about. From where you’re pressed against his upper chest, you can’t quite see his face either unless you craned your neck to look up towards him. You don’t slow down your speed, but do feel a sense of horny dread wash over you at his continued silence. Suddenly and without warning, you feel sharp fangs sink into the vulnerable back of your neck where your shoulder connects. It’s so unexpected and hurts so good that you erupt into a chorus of shuddering gasps, unable to even form sentences as Beetlejuice keeps biting and sucking at your neck. His claws keep your squirming body in place as he continues his barrage, and you feel him smiling wider and wider into your skin the more noisy that you get. It’s so good, so overwhelmingly good, having him inside of you while also using those fangs that you love so much on you at the same time. You’re struck with the realization that you can’t let him play you like a fiddle so well without fighting back. Before you can think twice, you turn your face into the crook of his neck right above his collarbone and bite down on the skin even harder than he’s biting at you. You may not have fangs, but you are determined nonetheless.
“Jesus FUCK, (Y/N)!” Beetlejuice is forced to pause his bites to yelp a few similar exclamations. “Ohoho, you’re lucky I’m a demon freak who doesn’t mind being ripped a new collarbone, cuz wow.”
An apology half-forms in your mouth before you realize that that was probably his weird way of complimenting you rather than sarcasm. “Well, m-maybe now, after this, you’ll get to go through what I went through every time you flashed your stupid teeth in public.”
Beetlejuice pulls his head back so his face is in your view again, and you slow your rocking against him just a bit out of curiosity. He’s sporting a growing smile that looks practically delighted.
“Hold up, were you really that into my fangs from all the way back when? You had it that bad?”
You flush at his wording of a situation that you, personally, do not find as humorous as he seems to. “Hey, it’s not like it was just that. It was…all of you, I guess. Every little thing you did turned me on basically all the time, and, as you can imagine, it was a living nightmare.” You realize that that doesn’t exactly make you sound less like a pervert, but it also doesn’t help that his cock is still twitching inside of you and you can’t exactly think straight at the moment.
“Wow, so every time I was around you, you were just being a grade A horndog!” Beetlejuice cackles at his own joke. He is the only one laughing. “Aww, looks like we’re more alike than we thought! Cuz, I mean, you were doing the exact same thing to me all the time, so. Fair’s fair.”
You groan. “Oh my God, you were literally going through the exact same thing? We could’ve fucked ages ago and put ourselves out of that misery!”
He snorts. “Hey, it’s fine. Y’know what? I’m glad it turned out just how it did. Honest.” Your starry-eyed demon lifts a claw to gently cup your jawline.
You put your own hand on top of his. “Yeah, same here.”
Beetlejuice grins, then his face immediately shifts. “All right, I’ve done a lot of talking and now I’m gonna make you cum so hard that you have visions of the Netherworld. Boobs in my mouth, please.”
“HA!” You practically double over at his sudden mood shift, wiping a tear from your eye. “I’ll hold you to that, big guy.”
Before you can even start rocking, Beetlejuice takes things into his own hands and starts thrusting up into you at a fairly speedy pace. He’s holding your hips to keep you balanced, as well as maneuvering them to drive himself into you better. The angle that he’s hitting you at is already starting to make you see stars, and you roll your hips to meet him in time. Apparently, he was not kidding about the boobs in his mouth request, as he leans his head forward to latch onto your left nipple, sucking and ever-so-slightly grazing it with his sharp teeth. To make matters worse, he grabs the other with his claw and begins rolling his thumb over it, all while keeping his eyes locked onto yours, just as he did the last time his mouth was on you. It’s all so good, you can already feel your orgasm building again.
“Oh, don’t stop, Beej, that’s so good…” You’re nearly at the precipice again, focusing your energy on getting up and over. The image in front of you is certainly helping get you there, as Beetlejuice is truly giving it all he has at the moment. His expression shows that he’s right on the edge as well, as you focus on his beautiful brown eyes looking up at you with unmistakable love and lust. “Mm, Beetlejuice…” His long tongue wrapping itself around your nipple… “Beetlejuice…” His cock hitting that perfect spot inside of you... “B-!”
Suddenly, you find two hands clamped over your mouth with surprising force. “Don’t.” The word comes out as a snarl next to your ear, taking you by surprise and sending a shiver down your whole frame. Before you can recover, an erratic snap of his hips sends you hurtling over the edge, an orgasm so intense that it makes your ears ring and your other senses dull for the duration. You moan loudly against his hand, which hasn’t yet moved and doesn’t do much to muffle your sounds of pleasure. Moments later, Beetlejuice moves to grab onto your hips and presses deep into you, holding you in place above him and filling you up with more of his otherworldly cum, all the while letting out gasping moans of his own like a man drowning. After filling you to his satisfaction, his arms fall limply to his side and you slump against him, both dazed and overstimulated. You catch your breath while Beetlejuice seems to be going through a factory reset, his eyes wide open and blinking harshly.
After gathering himself, he finally speaks. “Babes, I love you, but you really gotta get this name thing down if you don’t want me to suddenly poof away when I’m balls-deep inside of ya.”
You look at him sheepishly. “Heh, yeah, sorry. Good save though!” You finally lift yourself off of his dick, rolling your body haphazardly off of him to lay down at his side more comfortably.
He snorts. “Yeah, I bet you enjoyed me putting a stop to that. I’m thinking next time, I act like that from the start and we’ll see whose better at bossing who around.”
You begin lightly tracing patterns on his chest, resting your head on his bicep. “Oh yeah? And what if I wasn’t finished bossing you around yet?”
“Well, then you can peg me about it the next time!”
You giggle at his response while simultaneously filing it away for another day. Smiling into his bare skin, you feel your heartbeat begin to stabilize after quite a long period of elevation. Beetlejuice is still chilly to the touch, but in a way that unexpectedly comforts you, like a soft pillow after being flipped over in the middle of the night.
“Can we flip?” The demon’s sudden request paired with his big eyes meeting yours takes you out of your musings.
“You want to lay on me? Sure, c’mere.” You move to your back, patting your chest for him to lay on. He doesn’t hesitate, snuggling his head into a cozy position on your chest, his left cheek pressing up against your collarbone and his tussled pastel pink hair barely reaching up to tickle your neck. He’s in the perfect spot for you to drape your arms across his frame protectively, your hands coming up to gently rest on his shoulder and the side of his face. Your hands are tired and still, but even in a passive state, you find them needing to touch Beetlejuice without asking for your input. Even if it’s just the comforting brush of your fingers against his jawline, you can’t resist the ache to be close to him.
Beetlejuice leans into your touch. “Mm…you feel so nice…” He tilts his head so that his ear is pressed against your chest and practically melts against you. “Heh, I’ll never get used to that sound. Never thought I’d get to hear it so close, but it’s even better like this.” Your heartbeat instinctively quickens just a bit at his comment, and you feel Beetlejuice’s lips curl up in a smile. “Cute how I can change the tempo at will like that. Like the best radio in the world, babes.”
You blow air from your nose and kiss his head from above, mostly just getting his hair in the kiss from the angle you’re at. “I like your chilliness, you like my heartbeat…I’m starting to think this may work out for us after all!”
The demon snorts, repositioning his head to your shoulder so he can look you in the eye better. “Y’know, I really thought my awesome cock and subsequent use of it would be the thing that made you think that, but whatever seals the deal for ya, doll!”
“That too.” You sigh and close your eyes. “So, what are we gonna tell the others?”
“Uh, you got so horny after I annoyed you one day that you fucked me about it?”
“Beetlejuice, we are not telling people that.”
“Sorry, that you fucked me and you fucked me good. Better?” Your raised eyebrow is enough of an answer on its own. “Hm, and I thought you were a fan of honesty. Well, suit yourself. We can think of something more PG later, it’s not like we have to tell anyone tonight.”
“Well, I guess you are right on that front. I’ll think of a nice and polite way to bring it up at the family dinner table later.”
“Yeah, plus itll be a shitshow either way. They’re all gonna say that you’re too good for me, which yeah, fair.”
You brush some loose hairs out of his face reassuringly. “They can think whatever they wanna think. Doesn’t make ‘em right.” You kiss his lips gently, with the soft whisper of a promise at the edge of your own lips guiding your touch. “I love you, Beetlejuice.”
Beetlejuice looks so utterly overwhelmed by emotion after you speak that he can only think to immediately bury his face against you silently. He’s holding so tight to you, as though you could disappear at any moment if his grip slackens. Like you’re his lifeline. After multiple moments of heavy breathing directly against your skin, he manages to barely choke out a response. “Ditto.”
You can’t help but chuckle at the demon, rubbing circles into his back as a comfort. “Just rest now, baby. You did great.”
Beetlejuice looks up at you in relief. “Oh God, thanks for saying that. I’ve been drowsy since we stopped, I just didn’t wanna leave you alone.” Never would’ve guessed him as the most considerate type, but he sure loves to prove me wrong.
“No worries Beej, I’ll be right here next to you. I’m not going anywhere. You can sleep.”
With those last affirmations, Beetlejuice’s eyes almost immediately droop shut as he begins snoring lightly, asleep at an impressive speed for a demon or human. It’s pretty cute how tired he must’ve been before you told him to rest, you didn’t even know for sure if demons wanted and/or needed sleep til now. Yet here he is, making deep contented rumblings from the back of his throat, his head and torso acting like a soft weighted blanket on top of you. The presence of him sleeping soundly on you is deeply comforting, both physically and emotionally. This demon, who’s lived a million lifetimes and dealt with more shit than I could imagine in both the world of the living and dead, trusts me enough to fall asleep on me. He trusted me enough to talk to me about his feelings during sex. Beetlejuice, of all people. Even if I told someone as understanding as one of the Maitlands about that, I don’t think they’d really believe me. Or even really get it.
You reach one arm down to pull a sheet up over the both of you sloppily, just to have something covering you both. Human instincts for avoiding being preyed on by demons in the night always persist, despite your unique situation. As you adjust you pillow to make yourself comfortable for the night, you run your fingers through Beetlejuice’s hair, which is now settling back into its default green without any more external stimuli. You wonder bemusedly if it ever changes color in his sleep, then feel a peaceful rush of happiness when you realize that you’ll have ample time and opportunity to find out the answer. Overtaken by a quiet joy, you quickly lean your head over to kiss him goodnight on the forehead, trying everything in your power to somehow physically materialize this feeling of affection for Beetlejuice that is so strong and all-consuming, just so you could hold it so close that nothing bad would ever happen to it. In lieu of that impossibility, you hold Beetlejuice tighter in your arms instead, with the same goal in your mind.
Author’s Note: this took me an indefensible amount of time to write and if i look at it for another second i’ll go crazy so please take it and look at it with your own eyeballs so that mine can rest. on the fun side, can you tell that characters who always flirt with others by making bold sexual references but end up actually being really flustered and submissive when the other person finally reciprocates are my favorites? anyways i wanna pick this guy up by the scruff of his neck like a kitten, he is so special to me. originally this fic was supposed to be way less emotional but sometimes you’re writing and a character decides to have a breakdown halfway through a scene and you just gotta deal with that curveball when it’s coming at you. but i’m pretty happy with how it turned out, and i hope you guys enjoyed it too. thanks for reading! edit: hey you, want some more? i finally made a sequel lol (x)
"Here they are" huffing for breath Simon carried the boxes from the attic into the living room, then releasing a sneeze.
The dust had soiled his sweatshirt, despite the fact that Eden monthly always had that ball of cleaning the attic.And it was also his favorite.
"I told you to let me do it but you no no, you wanted to do your own thing" the brunette with the knife removed the tape, well there was everything.
Jokingly Eden wrapped the red Christmas festoon around herself, starting to move her hips cheerfully "How do they fit? I could come like this to Christmas dinner at grandma's house "she then burst out laughing along with him.
"Well certainly better than the sweater Johnny wants me to wear, he's set on us guys having to wear that stuff" Simon scratched the back of his blond head, just thinking about it gave him hives.
"Oh come on poor Johnny."
"You say that because to you girls he didn't force it, that's why" his lips curved into a smile, taking from the box a silver Christmas festoon.
"No seriously? We said red."
"Actually you said silver with Gaz" Simon insisted, being stopped by Eden, absolutely no way it was silver.
"It was an 'option if you heard right, because he liked it"
"I like it too garden dwarf" he messed up her hair.
If there was one thing Eden hated it was that you used her height to attack her, she knew she was small in stature. If you wanted to offend her, just call her a "garden dwarf."
Eden made a teasing grimace "Very funny, give it here" then tried to put down the festoon taken by the blond, stubborn he instead reached for her, placing the silver festoon over her hips.Damn him, he always managed to get his way
"Why don't we make a deal luv?We can put both colors so it's a tree really made by both of us," he murmured in a deep voice.
Simon had told her a long time ago that he hated Christmas, that he always had bad Christmases because of that piece of shit father of his.
Eden sighed, she wanted to see him happy at the end. She wanted this to be the first special Christmas for Simon, spent with the people he considered his family.
"All right, deal. But just" he stopped her with a peck kiss before starting to gather what was needed to decorate.She stood there motionless with one finger raised like a fool, then followed him in decorating the tree.
In the end it didn't turn out too bad either, the red and silver blended perfectly. Like the two personalities of Eden and Simon.
"What did I tell you babe. I have the eye" proudly he winked at her.
Eden replied with her usual eye roll "Just this once" the brunette tried to tidy up what they had combined, letting him reach the shelf of vinyls she collected, her father's legacy.
"If you want anything Christmas there's nothing there, I only have a CD Reggie gave me a while back."
A whispered "tsk" departed from Simon, triumphantly displaying a Cranberries vinyl "I could just as well put on Mozart, but since you granted my request, I want to reciprocate" he reached out and grabbed her by the hips, with Dolores O'Riordan's voice soundtracking the laughter and those uncoordinated dance moves. They looked like two teenagers, and it was funny how a man who struck terror from the stories about him was instead such a sweet person, only for the woman who had helped him believe in something that had never crossed his mind: love.
"When we have time you and I are going to dance school, we're in bad shape."
"Yes of course" he with the back of his hand brushed her right cheek and with 'the other held her side. One more step and the two were ready to move on to the next stage.
Except that the Christmas tree literally fell on both of them, especially Simon, who found himself on the ground imprisoned among the balls and festoons.
"Stupid cat, I bet it was you Mr. Orange."
Bingo, the chonky cat had run into Eden's arms meowing, Eden unable to stop laughing. It was immortal that scene.
"Help me, don't laugh. That would do it Chloe," he wiggled, managing to get out of there with Eden's help.
"Sooner or later I'll bake that cat with potatoes, now we'll have to do it again. Bloody hell."
"Don't talk about our son like that "Eden brought the cat toward her protectively, actually Simon loved him.
"And anyway if we do it again now afterwards I'll give you a massage. The kind you like so much and more."
"The kind I like?" He frowned with amusement.
"The ones you like" Eden repeated, watching him dart away and collect ogliating the necessities to redo the tree.
The usual Simon.
