More for the au!
The basics, Gods, Demigods, Devil Fruits, all exist.
World Gov + Marines try and keep the whole concept of gods and demigods under wraps. Because I'm working with "D's" carry divinity. And having a good chunk of them outright despise the government isn't a great look.
Luffy is a god while Garp and Dragon are demigods. Luffy can shift between physical and 'divine' form whereas demigods don't have that ability.
Luffy is the successor/inheritor of his predecessor's will and own divinity. But not through reincarnation necessarily. One in the same but they are very much so different. His devil fruit and promise to Shanks cemented his place as the successor to the sun and freedom. When gods and demigods start out, there isn't a wholly set future for what will they will have, or the ideals they will embody. Luffy has always had his cloudy/intangible form.
Imagine Garp's surprise when his grandson, who was supposed to join him in the marines, is set to embody freedom and the sun. He was pissed for a solid week about that. Garp also had to deal with questioning where Dragon had even gotten Luffy from, he still doesn't know.
Ace and Sabo were very adamant that Luffy not show off his divine form to everyone, especially if he wanted to become a pirate. He can't be a pirate if the government tracks him down and hides him away at the ripe age of like, 8. Also because having a full god is pretty uncommon, Sabo has heard horror story after horror story of what nobles and those in higher society would do to a god. Sabo is the most vocal about Luffy being careful about that.
Luffy meets Koby, and does an absolutely terrible job at keeping his form hidden. It's harder to control which form he's in when he's excited. Koby was a human with no divinity and big dreams that Luffy adored. So, already excited with a new friend, and the two on their way to Shells town, Luffy sneezed and immediately sold himself out. Koby is a terrible liar and so just elects to never speak on this topic ever. If anyone asks why he has so much knowledge on gods, specifically sun gods, he just doesn't answer. Helmeppo thinks it's funny and immediately pieced together why, because Koby cannot keep anything from him. And Garp has to respect how hard that kid is trying to not completely sell out his grandson, even if the brat kind of deserves it for being a pirate.
Luffy is going to be the Pirate King, divine or not. His crew quickly find out about his side quirk/form in varying ways. Zoro woke up one day with a cloudy demon from hell cutting off his airways. Nami was trying to explain clouds to Luffy and that 'no, they cannot just spawn on your person, that's stupid,' and so Luffy shows her that he is in fact, correct.
Usopp got jumpscared early in the morning, before the sun had risen, when Luffy just appeared behind him and asked if he wanted to watch the sunrise. Sanji was cooking dinner and Luffy got so excited he phased out of his physical body.
Chopper found out while asking Luffy if he had any medical conditions he should know about, he thought it was kinda cool that Luffy can change forms. And is only a little jealous that Luffy has a fully human form. Luffy always makes sure to tell Chopper he's exactly who he needs to be.
Robin found out after talking about 'Nika,' who is thought to be long dead, but is not. And is the captain of the crew she is now apart of. Luffy knows the name is important and it has a certain weight when it's said. He physically feels when someone says his name around him. Robin thinks this is very fascinating. (Also can add some context into poneglyphs, that there is a lot to it, even if Robin doesn't yet know and Luffy wasn't alive/doesn't have that knowledge)
Franky was showing off cool shit he could do with his robotic body, and Luffy was like 'me too!!!'
Brook found out when Luffy fell asleep listening to him play a song, and Luffy slipped back into his resting form of cloudiness.
While both forms have their uses and limitations, Luffy is most comfortable in his intangible form, even if his physical one is the default. He cannot access his divine form after a certain point of exhaustion hits.
Im going to end that there before I have an entire novel in this. But that's the general thought throw up I'm smacking down right now.
Sorry if this is incoherent and not easy to understand lol. I will flesh it out more later and when I have actually thought more about it. Might change things later too. Then I'll probably make a good post about it with actual wellish made context and lore.

What if?... Husk knew his harem when alive.
(Using the Harem!Husk idea of @dealwithadeer also I propose that the harem could be called "Strong Suit")
It would make sense with Husk be one who live the longest.
The thing is that they meet Husk in a high point of his life so they only saw the good side and nobody make the connection that they're the same person.
Problem? Husk does remember them.
Lucifer? One doesn't forget that summoned the devil and survive no matter how much you drink.
Alastor? It was quite clear and more since Alastor doesn't hide who he was when alive.
Angel? He tells him a story when they're alone in the bar and Angel is a bit drunk so he gave a lot of details and Husk make the connection pretty easily later.
Vox? He told him in one of their "dates" that he make him remember the one who got away (in a way to look more sincere and Husk gave him info)
How they meet?
First one Lucifer, they meet in the 20's and Husk was in his early twenties, maybe he was fucking around with a book and end up summoning by accident Lucifer and instead of be scare he ask him for money (a gambler to the the end) Lucifer was amuse by this odd and pretty (I headcanon that Husk was super pretty in his youth, sue me!)
So the deal was that Husk show him a night of entertainment and he would gave him the money, he actually hope to Husk to fail but was surprise for the magic shows of Husk, the glamour of Vegas, having somebody in his arms again (he and Lilith were divorce at that point since I refuse to write Luci as a cheater) it was the most fun he ever had in a long time.
Husk got the money and a King.
Next is Alastor, in the early 30's so Husk was in his early to mid thirties, Husk was the new bartender/sax player in his town at first he was suppose to be his newest victim, and I think that Alastor has a thing in having a "interview" with his victims. He expect to Husk to be like the other men he interview crude, boring and stupid.
He was surprise in how Husk break his expectentions, they actually got along so Alastor decide it would be a waste in killing him so soon, so he spare him, even deciding that if Husk end ups boring him that he could be a nice dessert.
Husk got to live longer and a Ace.
Now Angel Dust, this was in the 40's and Husk was in his mid forties, Angel was recently kick out of his family for be gay and was dealing with a lot of self-hate and drugs, it was his lowest point (so far) and he pass out one night in the snow.
He was shock of waking up in a warm bed while somebody was taking care of him. It was Husk with his boyfriend (Husk was dating a rich dude at the time) even if neither of them say out loud they were boyfriends they also never hide it.
This make Angel feel safe and Husk took care of Angel, in return Angel told him that he make sure that nobody will bother them, Husk didn't know that Angel was a mafioso just kind words of somebody he help.
Husk got protection and a Heart.
Finally is Vox, they meet a lot actually from the 20's to the 50's they had a lot of quick enconters. I headcanon that Husk did drag when he was alive and that is how they meet, Vox wanted to ask Husk for a date but he was already gone for traveling.
Each time they meet again Vox felt a sense of peace since times where changing, he was changing but the only person that maintain all his life was Husk that in the big picture he was still a total stranger but for Vox the only person who saw him since day one.
Vox was either was a cult leader or a CEO (almost the same) so he wanted Husk a his side since he was somebody that see pass his charm. Husk was like the wind pass his fingers and was unable to control him just go to wherever he desire.
Husk got to maintain his freedom and a Diamond.

˗ˏˋ Yandere Concept ´ˎ˗
Tumblr media
Yandere Podcaster — Amos Emerie (he/him)
English / • 27 • / Bisexual / Multilingual
Height: 5'9" He wears boots that make him 5'11" because he's insecure about his height.
Language(s): English, Polish, & Sign Language
╰┈➤ He comes from the sleepy town of Holy Springs. A town filled with yanderes, most supernatural, all downright disturbing. He's one of the few humans that have made their way into this town. It's so small enchanted that it isn't on any maps. Less than a hundred living beings make their home here. The population rests around a thousand.
╰┈➤ Holy Springs — It's a safe haven for outcasts and entities that would be shunned by any major religion. It is also one of the most dangerous places to live for humans.
╰┈➤ He's the seer of the town. He foretells any new arrivals or conflicts that are to happen. He's the first to learn of readers arrival to their cozy town. He's the first to fall for them and see all of the attention they'll attract. However, that's a vision for another day.
╰┈➤ He runs a podcast called Yandere Unsolved. It's labeled as a true crime podcast and is one of the most listened to in the country. What most listeners don't know is that the podcast was really just a way for yanderes to place bets on who would kill who for their darling. At the end of each episode, he lists off the people who contribute to his podcast—the codenames of who won and lost what bets. What a coincidence that reader really enjoys his podcast. You'll both have so much to talk about when you arrive.
╰┈➤ He lives in a two-bedroom apartment with his roommate, who's a ghoul. Often times, he has to temporarily leave because he cannot stand the sound of his roommate chewing on another human carcass. Amos doesn't understand why he can't be more tidy about his kills. He just wants one night of full sleep without hearing the tortured screams of his roommates victims. His roommate is a bit of a glutton, in more ways than one.
╰┈➤ One sibling — He has a deaf older brother who doesn't live in Holy Springs. His older brother lives in France with his husband and two kids. That's how Amos learned sign language when he was younger. It comes in handy considering some of the residents here don't speak any identifiable language or just cannot speak for whatever reason. So he's able to communicate with them this way.
╰┈➤ Parents — His mother and father still live in the rural town they grew up in. Both he and his brother visit them in the summer and on holidays. Amos speaks little about Holy Springs and keeps it vague. He doesn't want to accidentally attract a spirit from the town to haunt his family by uttering the name. He also never allows them to visit him. He says it's because his apartment is too small for all of them, and there aren't any hotels in Holy Springs. There is one, but it's run by a notoriously mischievous demon who knows how to make people give up their souls. The last thing he needs is someone in his family making a deal with that devil.
╰┈➤ Friends — One of his closest friends hails from Poland. They were a foreign exchange student whom his family hosted. He's kept in good touch with them over the years and has picked up much of the language. He doesn't speak it unless he's in Poland visiting them, so his fluency in it is a bit rusty. He's mostly introverted, especially with how the town isolates you, so they're really his only friend. Except for you, you're basically already his spouse, so you can't really count as his friend.
╰┈➤ He has absolutely awful self-esteem. He's the seer of the town, and he runs a podcast that is really just radio gambling for yanderes, and yet he still feels like a perverted loser. He can speak confidently, but he doesn't feel like it. He still feels like the same kid who ended up getting a restraining order from his crush in high school. So what if he had been stealing pairs of their underwear and taking photos of them without their consent? He saw it in the future. He thought he was meant to be with them. It turns out that they just looked like you. It was really you who he saw in those visions. Unfortunately, the future has a way of changing your destination right before you reach it. No worries! He'll just make sure that you are his, no matter what.
╰┈➤ Infatuation — He's a very subtle yandere until he has his darling trapped. He sees himself as a protector and a safe heaven for you, both from the world and the horrors within the seemingly normal town. Due to the fact that he saw you in his visions, he believes it to be a divine intervention that you both met. He's extremely needy and stakerish. He's ashamed of his perversions and does everything he can to make sure you don't find out about them. He isn't broke, but he isn't rich either. He wins some and loses some when he gambles with other yanderes. He's truly worried about others becoming obsessively inclined toward you. He doesn't have the ability to kill a person; at least he doesn't think so. He wouldn't kill someone unless you asked him to. He's too afraid you'd hate him for it.
full headcanons soon?

alright. WHAT is a Raven Cycle. What is this story about. All this time seeing you pointed about these people, but it took me ages to figure out what the "trc" tag even stood for -- that poll you just reblogged in fact. I'm ready. Give me the pitch.
HI.
the raven cycle is a series of four books by maggie stiefvater: the raven boys, the dream thieves, blue lily lily blue, and the raven king. there is a follow-up trilogy called the dreamer trilogy made up of three books: call down the hawk, mister impossible, and greywaren.
(my 'cdth' tag is my tag for the sequel series, which i like even more than trc.)
it's a YA modern fantasy series set in a small town in rural virginia. the series focuses on a gang of five teenagers (a sixth joining in book 3/4) who are all dealing with various magic bullshit in their lives. one is looking for a dead welsh king along a ley line in the mountains of virginia, because legend says that the king can be woken and grant a wish.
the problem is that this boy, gansey, is going to die.
we know this because the one girl in the group (sorry women. there are more women in cdth i SWEAR), blue, saw his ghost on st mark's eve. which means he will die within the next year. why did she see his ghost?? because he's either her true love, or she killed him.
or, you know. both. if you're a girl who's cursed to kill your true love with a kiss. as she is.
blue does not want to kill anyone. blue also does not want gansey to be her true love. they get off on the wrong foot entirely and she decides he's the devil for a little while. blue is overall having a bad time with the world and her place in it and the fact that she's the only non-psychic person in a family of psychics, And Also She Doesn't Want To Kill Anyone.
so the question is -- for all four books -- what..... would make her kill gansey. how is gansey going to die.
gansey's three other closest friends are boys in varying states of emotional turmoil.
ronan, who is where my URL comes from, is a suicidal bipolar maniac alcoholic who spends all of his time trying to kill himself. and is also magic as fuck. and hiding it. and going out street racing with a guy who wants to eat him. and they're kind of fucking about it. they technically never fuck except like. they're kind of fucking about it
adam is a trailer trash kid paying his own way into the elite boarding school that gansey & ronan attend. his dad is physically abusive to the point of adam's life being in constant danger, but adam refuses to accept gansey's offers of help or safety, because he's determined that nobody else ever Own him.
noah is a quiet kid with a violent past that gansey cares about very deeply, getting into all of his backstory involves major book one spoilers but it is. Rough.
the plot points in the series are complicated to explain because there's a lot of mythology and strange worldbuilding and psychic bullshit and magic all going on and playing off each other. but the series is about these five kids being in a giant pseudo-polyamorous relationship and loving each other and hating each other and wanting each other and killing each other.
it has some of my favorite relationship arcs of all time in any media, ever, and also it like. taught me how to write. LOL. so if you're here from the owl house (??) or from a different fandom and you like how i talk about characters and how i write character conflicts and character arcs and character relationships....... U Get All Of That Shit In The Raven Cycle.
and that's it!

How would the male companions go about helping/comforting a tav who’s “monthly visitor” came to town during their journey??
A/N: The timing of this ask is impeccable because guess what I just got? Lol. But seriously I would be mad as hell in the 5 or 6 days I’m supposed to stop my mind flayer parasite AND save the universe I ALSO had to deal with cramping and bleeding. Nu-uh. Nope. Sign me the fuck out. Goodbye cruel world, I would be DONE.
TW: Mentions of Menstruation; Blood
Tried to keep this Tav as Gender Neutral as possible so that it could apply to anyone who menstruates.  <3
Please Like & Reblog!
Male BG3 Companions Helping Tav w/ Their Period
⭐ Astarion:
He probably notices it before Tav does
Of course, he offers to help “clean up” ;) (this may or may not get him a kick in the balls)
No, but seriously, if he and Tav are in a relationship, he’d have no qualms going down there himself every so often to “alleviate” some symptoms. That is, of course, if Tav would go for that kind of thing. Astarion won’t keep pushing it if Tav says “no”. He respects the hard boundaries Tav gives him.
Of course, he teases Tav a bit. Not horribly, and it’s all in good fun. But enough to let Tav know that this matter doesn’t disgust or upset him in the slightest. It’s blood for devil's sake! What creature would be better prepared to handle it than him?
If any of Tav’s clothes end up stained or they end up bleeding through them, Astarion has just the thing to take the stains out. Turns out, knowing how to get blood out of most fabrics is quite beneficial knowledge in the vampire community. Plus he has an instinct for knowing where the best tailors and seamstresses in Baldur’s Gate are. Should Tav need an emergency change of clothes, he knows just the place!
Then again, Astarion himself has no problem with the blood stains. After all, they’re traveling around killing monsters for gods sake! If anyone has a nasty comment about how much blood either he or Tav is drenched in, they better be damn quick on their feet. His arrows can shoot pretty far. ;P
As far as cramps or pain goes, if his previous, ahem, suggestion was shot down, he’ll make sure Tav takes a moment here and there to rest. He might even bother Gale, demanding some sort of heat pack. Scratch that. He’s most definitely harassing Gale for some sort of heating pack spell.
If Gale refuses, he might even try and figure out how to fix one himself. Granted fire and vampires aren't the best of friends, but Tav is the only one in the last two-hundred-plus years to see him as a person. A little scorching here and there means nothing if Astarion can let Tav know how much he values them.
🔮 Gale:
He’s clueless, okay? Tav would have to outright tell him. I mean yes, he was raised by a single mom, but she didn’t exactly share the details of this stuff with him. And it never came up all the years he was with Mystra because goddesses don’t exactly reproduce the way other Faerun humanoids do! Please forgive him, he really does want to learn.
He immediately offers to find a spell or potion to either pause or skip this one altogether. He gets that Tav may want to opt out of dealing with it for the time being, seeing as the two of them have much more pressing matters to attend to.
He’ll cast it himself if Tav wishes. Or he’ll find another trustworthy wizard to recommend. Although he does prefer to do it himself, he understands Tav might be uncomfortable with the thought of their new partner doing such a thing for them. His entire life has been spent studying magic, so of course he immediately thinks to use that to remedy any problem Tav has.
Nevertheless, should Tav choose to deal with it in the old-fashioned non-magical way, he’s perfectly accepting of that as well. He’ll enquire about which local herbs are suitable for such applications, possibly even soliciting the help of an herbalist or surgeon.
Gale wants to give Tav as many options for comfort as possible. If Tav’s concern is about heavy bleeding, he looks for answers on natural remedies to lighten the flow. Or he may even speak with a midwife about the best clothes and absorbent materials to use in the coming days.
As awkward as he can be in social situations, he’s oddly great in this endeavor. He treats it the way he would a Weave experiment- with an open mind and curiosity. At the end of the day what matters is Tav knows how much Gale admires and respects them. And that he doesn’t think of them any less for having this bodily function. If anything, he admires Tav more for being so forthcoming. It’s an ask that actually strengthens his and Tav’s relationship.
🗡 Wyll:
Wyll probably shies away from it the most. It’s not that he doesn’t want to help Tav in any way he can, it’s just that he’s a gentleman, and to his knowledge, speaking of certain subjects with the one you like, isn’t something a well-behaved gentleman would do. That being said, a true gentleman is always prepared to put away their discomfort in order to aid their friends, so that’s exactly what he does.
He enlists the help of Shadowheart almost immediately. He knows realistically, there are others he could ask (midwives, doctors, healers), but Shadowheart is an ally and a Cleric to boot. So her skills as well as her knowledge may very well come in handy.
He’ll go along with whatever Tav decides, but he, like Gale, recommends Tav either suspend or skip this round. He thinks it wise to have all their wits about them for the battles ahead. With demons like Mizora and Raphael running about, none of them can afford to get distracted. Again, if Tav chooses to push through it, he’ll be kind and supportive, and request Shadowheart’s healing in subduing some of the more troublesome symptoms. But deep down, he’s happier should Tav decide to use magic or spells to resolve the issue for the time being.
And then, Wyll goes all out in preparation for the next one. Once their fight is won, he can turn his attention back to his family- his Father, and of course, Tav. He makes sure his family home has a room for them, customized in many ways to Tav’s liking. Wyll has their favorite color blanket, a soft pillow, their favorite flavor tea in an enchanted flask to keep it just the perfect temperature… the list goes on and on.
He loves Tav so much. He just wants them to be comfortable, and to feel safe to express whatever feelings they have. After all, Tav is the best thing to ever happen to him.
🌱 Halsin:
The nice thing about him being ‘one with nature’ is that he has no unease regarding the subject. He is an archdruid, and some three-hundred years old at that- believe me, there’s very little Tav’s body could throw at him that he’s not ready to receive.
Out of all the companions, Halsin is the one most likely to not immediately suggest using magical means to pause or skip it. Instead, he has more natural aids at the ready- herbs, teas, heat packs, massages, and well, yes, even that. ;)
The difference between Halsin suggesting it and Astarion suggesting it, however, is that Halsin’s motivations are more focused on what he can do for Tav and their body; they’re not based on the idea of mutual satisfaction. Halsin has had countless lovers and years to understand pleasure. He knows you take turns giving, and he’s well very versed in that.
Or if Tav isn't up for that, he'll offer to shift into a cat and rest on their abdomen, using his body heat to lessen Tav’s cramps.
He’s also the most ‘normal’ when it comes to continuing their journey. He won’t make a habit of fussing over Tav unless they specifically request him to do so. Periods, however annoying and painful, are a part of life, of nature. Halsin believes it best to learn how to accept nature, and live in harmony with it, rather than try and prevent it.
If Tav does want to explore other means of stopping this particular cycle, however, Halsin will help them any way he can, even if he doesn’t think it very wise to mess with the flow of nature like that. As a druid healer himself, he knows a few things or too about reproductive spells. He can make it so the symptoms lessen, or temporarily subside until their perilous journey has come to a close.
Halsin may not want to settle for a single lover, but out of all of them, Tav seems to shine the brightest. He would do anything within his power to aid them.
Bonus! 💪 Minsc (and 🐹 Boo!):
He offers to fight it lol. Just straight up.
“What is this thing causing you stress? Tell Minsc where it is so he can destroy it for you!”
Boo basically has to be the one in charge of the situation, but then again, what’s new?
Boo finds the supplies Tav might need, and directs Minsc to them. Boo also directs Minsc towards either Shadowheart or Halsin, because they’re better suited for dealing with these sorts of things.
Once Minsc understands what Tav meant, he apologizes with a bouquet of wildflowers he picked.
And by ‘picked’ I mean mostly smooshed before ripping their roots out of the ground.
He's really trying okay, give the man some credit.
And give Boo treats to thank him for his service.

quinn request!! maybe the reader is drafted from the 2020 she was first and the first woman in the nhl bu and she went to a team(you can pick maybe the leafs?) and she did amazing on that team but she didn’t love it and she traded to the cannucks at the end of the 22 season, and quinn just started being a captain so he kidna got closet to her pretty fast especially because she ended up moving into the apartment building he lives in so they started driving together to the arena and basically became really really great friends but quinn definitely has been falling for her and doesn’t want to say anything knowing how tough it is for her to be women in the nhl, maybe during the devils at cannucks game his family notice him smiling at someone and realize he really likes her and she scored a goal and the way quinn congratulated her was more than he does for anyone else, ellen maybe suggested to invite her to dinner after the game with their family, and she gets along with jack and luke so well and jim and ellen just adore her and mayeb that’s what gets quinn the push to finally tell her what he felt
oooo the ideas I have for this!
ok so she goes in the first round to like San Jose (who's historically terrible) but decides to stay in college for the year (say she goes to like minnesota or North Dakota). she signs for the 21-22 season and comes in lighting it up. her, trevor zegras and Moritz seider are the 3 calder finalists and she ultimately loses it to Seider.
she wasn't totally loving being on the sharks. she hated the city and hated that they were getting their asses kicked on a nightly basis. she just was not having a good experience despite producing every night she played.
during the 22-23 season, she asks to get traded. the sharks follow through with it and ended up getting involved in the bo horvat deal and she goes to Vancouver while bo goes to the islanders and the islanders send something to San Jose.
she gets to Vancouver and makes instant friends with Quinn and Petey. they welcome her in with open arms and both offer for her to stay with them. she ends up living with Petey for the rest of the season and even signs an extension with Vancouver for like 7 years.
she heads back to Vancouver a little early at their request because she is going the leadership squad earning an A while Quinn gets the C. that's when Quinn really starts falling for her.
he refuses to do anything about it bc she's the first woman in the NHL and being in the Canadien market is hard enough let alone being the first woman and does not wanna throw dating her captain into the mix.
he definitely spends the most time with her off the ice and ellen takes notice to how often she gets mentioned when she checks in with Quinn.
ellen really notices the lasting glances, lingering touches, and not so hidden feelings from her oldest to his female teammate. she also understands why he won't say anything about it so she doesn't press it. but she does basically force him to invite her out to dinner with them every time they are in town so that ellen can meet her.
as soon as ellen meets her, she understands why her son is falling for her. she's an amazing persona and absolutely stunning.
she doesn't start mentioning anything about it to Quinn to pressing him on it until the all star draft and he made a point to draft her first of the canucks and hugged her for a long time after drafting her.
that's when he realized that maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing to actually say something to her about his feelings.
this is kinda long so I'm gonna stop here and prob do a part 2 if y'all liked this.

As I just watched 325 where Ace and Blackbeard fight. I can’t help but think of other ways it could have gone.
What if Ace didn’t leave the Moby dick alone? What if members of the Spade pirates followed?
Maybe Ace takes off on his own but Masked Deuce, Skull, and Mihar follow. They were his commanders. Maybe Deuce never liked Teach to start with. The man has bad vibes even when he’s actively tricking the Whitebeard crew. (If Luffy can pick up on the rancid vibes I refuse to believe other people didn’t pick up on them) add in the fact he just murdered a crew mate, and they all know Ace. Ace will take this as his responsibility. He’s going to go after teach there is not stopping him.
Maybe they go with him.
Maybe they see him leave. Deuce asked why no one’s going after him and is told that as second division commander Teach is Ace’s responsibility. So Deuce Mihar and Skull decided to follow on their own.
When they catch up depends on how you want the final battle to play out. There are two options.
1) they catch up before Ace reaches Blackbeard.
You get an argument of Ace anting them to turn back. He’s still underestimating Teach. He doesn’t know what his new devil fruit does.
It ends with them reminding Ace that they are there because they’re his friends and they care about him and want to help. They can deal with what ever consequences come from leaving the Moby later.
When they catch up to Blackbeard. Maybe they go to fight Blackbeard’s crew while Ace handles Teach.
That is until Teach shows off his devil fruit and the three have to book it to the forest. They don’t know what the fruit does but Blackbeard’s crew is fleeing from it.
Pause because idea 2 is that they trail him and end up on Banaro island right before Ace does. Maybe it was easier to track Blackbeard than Ace and the best him there. They are talking to/helping the town folk when Blackbeard shows off his power.
Either way both ideas meld here
Once out of range maybe Skull recognizes it. He has a weird hodgepodge of knowledge about pirates and I can see him knowing somethings about devil fruits.
Once Blackbeard is done showing off. They three race back to Ace. It takes them some time but they get there just in time to see Ace take a big hit.
Maybe between Skulls sword, Mihar’s gun and all threes quick thinking they are able to pull Ace out of there.
Ace is furious. He hates running. But the others know they are out matched. They were able to do some damage. (Over the years with Whitebeard they have gotten stronger) but maybe Blackbeard’s crew had also come to back him up. They were out numbered and Ace was already hurt.
Ace fights every step of the way. “You don’t understand! I can’t let him get away!”
“Ace we’ll get him I promise but we need help.” Deuce tries to reason. Blackbeard is a bigger threat than any of them thought. They will need Pop’s help for this.
“No you don’t understand. He’s going after Luffy!” And the world freezes for a second. (I’d like to think in either option the Spades missed Teach’s little attempt to get Ace to join him) they all know of Luffy. Ace little brother who he adores. He talks everyone’s ear off about the kid. So the fact that Teach was going after him was beyond low.
It’s a race now to Water 7. (They say the fight took place three days before the Strawhat’s new bounties dropped) so they are all still resting at Water 7. Garp may not have even shown up yet.
It’s a race between the two crews. Blackbeard to kill Luffy for his Warlord position, and Ace who desperately trying to warn/save his brother.
Maybe they have contacted the rest of the Whitebeard pirates and filled them in and they are on their way to.
This is a fluid idea. But I always thought it was unfair for Ace to be on this quest alone. I understand why, but like the boy deserves his friends.
Also I don’t think the Spades could beat Teach on their own. I think they are just enough to pull Ace out of the fight. He’s kicking and screaming but he’s safe.
Part 2 of this nonsense

pairing : matt sturniolo x y/n
summary: in which matt and his brothers are a pretty big deal in a small town. y/n, who is the daughter of a school teacher and a fireman has never understood the hype around those sturniolo boys anyways. however, when matt takes her home to save her from pouring rain, she decides to give him a chance.
warnings: kind of suggestive? mostly fluff, cursing, no fame!au
i just loved this idea. 🫶🏻
————————————————————————
“oh y/n,” you hear your best friend madeline giggle down the hallway. “hi madeline,” you smile closing the locker and holding the books to your chest. “you’ll never guess who wants to take me on a date tonight!” her smile was something similar to the cheshire cat, and all you could think was ‘oh brother.’ however, being the good friend you are, you entertained her.
“oh do tell madi, i think i might die if i don’t know!” you say, sarcasm dripping from your words. her face stern, as she shoved your shoulder a bit. “christopher sturniolo!” her tone raised a bit, as she jumped up and down from excitement. “good lord madeline, i thought it was serious.” you huff, drawing your free hand to your forehead, shaking your head at her over exaggerating.
her jaw could’ve hit the floor from how agape it was, and the gasp she let out was surely for the dramatics, “y/n, my dear, my baby, it is serious! do you not understand how important him and his brothers are?” the and being dragged out far too long. “oh i know. i also know they’re raging assholes madi, i also know christopher’s track record. i support you completely, i just don’t think getting mixed up with those tools is a good idea.” you shrugged.
and in all honesty, you did support her. hell maybe you were even a little jealous of her. getting asked out by one of the most popular guys in school. but there was a reason they were popular, and it wasn’t good. they were rude, loud, obnoxious, and all in all wouldn’t do you any favors.
your one goal : make it out of this small, tiny, close minded town. maybe make it far, somewhere like new york or los angeles. near or far, your plan certainly was not to fall for a sturniolo’s meaningless words, and wind up stuck here.
after all, they were just high school boys. and high school boys are what the devil sends when he can’t reach you himself.
that school day drug on, madeline filling in everyone the each of you knew about her little plans with christopher after school. it was a little unbearable as you made your way to your locker.
as you stood there, sorting through your science and algebra books, you hear a voice clear their throat.
as quickly as the door shut, you realized it was one of the triplets. “i’m sorry, i really can’t tell the difference…which one are you?” you lied. of course you knew it was matt, it’s like everyone there could tell the difference between the three. but you being you, refused to give him the satisfaction.
“my apologies ma’am,” he smirked. “i’m matt, you’re uh… you’re y/n, friends with the girl my little brothers taking out?”
“little brother? i thought you three were all the same age?” you giggled, only half teasing. “i’m older by some minutes. answer the question, you and madeline friends?” his smile was charming, it was now you understood why all the girls chased after him.. never earning a chance though.
that was the thing about the brothers. nick was openly gay, chris would date just about any girl at that high school, and the crowd of girls not swarming chris? they followed matt like a lost puppy. he’d flirt, but he’d never take any of them serious.
“oh yeah, me and madeline are best friends.” you nodded up to the boy, starting to walk past him. he took a few short steps, quickly catching up within seconds. “well.. im kind of chris’s ride everywhere… you mind giving me madeline’s address? so i can pick her up for their date,” he seemed… nervous? oh don’t be silly y/n you thought to yourself he’d never be nervous to talk to you, every girl here practically throws herself at him.
“matt, why don’t you ask madeline yourself?” you ask, stopping at the door before your math class. “oh come on, y/n there’s one more class of the day, please tell me.” his tone was whiny like a child, and you couldn’t fight the giggle at him. quickly, you pulled a piece of paper from your notebook, he provided you a pen.
“christopher told her 6pm,” you explained, jotting down the last bit of her address “don’t be late.” you sighed, handing him the paper. “only because you were so kind,” he smirked, folding the paper and walking away.
“oh, my, god!?” your and madeline’s other close friend nadia whisper yelled as you sat down beside her. “what?” you asked, opening your book and grabbing a pen. “what did matthew want?” she smiled, urging you for details about the conversation. “oh my, nadia he was just asking for madi’s address.” you giggled, writing your name.
that class went by agonizingly slow, and then the bell finally rang.
“yeesh, madi he sure knows how to pick date nights.” you mumbled, referring to the cloudy skies. “oh hush, y/n. the way i’m feeling, it could be rain or shine i wouldn’t know the difference.” she smiled walking backwards for dramatic affect, “oh honey i’m glad.” you teased, turning her around to continue the treck back to her house.
“he’ll be here at 6, so..” she explained as we made our way up the stairs to her bedroom. “i’m thinking you pick out an outfit, while i do my hair and you can help me do my makeup.”
“aww, madi! how kind of you to include me,” you giggled making your way toward her closet. “hush it. i’ll talk you up to matthew if you’re sweet!” she winked, dragging out the ee in sweet. “oh madeline anne you better not.” your tone serious, even bringing out the middle name you know she hated. “never call me anne, and why not? you two were so sweet talking in the hallway today.”
“because of who he is madi. he doesn’t give girls the time of day, and besides you know my plans. im uninterested in anyone unless they’re helping me move” you explained, as she said the last part in unison with me. “i know y/n. but you could be a teenager until you up and leave everyone, you know. i won’t say anything. but don’t say i at least never offered.” her eyes going back to putting the rollers in her hair, now beginning to touch her makeup up.
the next two hours were filled with music, her talking about chris, and the two of you doing everything possible to make her look perfect. “wow, you look…wow,” you smiled, hugging her before spraying a bit of perfume on her.
“thanks babes,” she smiled, checking her watch. “and just in time! it’s 6!” and like clockwork, the doorbell rang. “madeline, your date is here!” you hear madeline’s mother call, as she was in the kitchen preparing some dinner for her and madeline’s father.
you raced down the stairs to answer the door, “hi christopher, madeline will be down in a second.” you smiled, nodding to chris. he gave you a small smile back, and speaking out a tiny okay.
moments later, madi finally came down stairs. “im ready,” she smiled, fixing the necklace that hang loosely around her neck. “hi, you look- you look beautiful.” chris smiled, holding some flowers in front of him. “oh, these are for you.” the blush across his face was sweet.
it was in this moment you realized, it must be nice. young love, a boy picking you up from your house, both of you dressed nice, just to go to the old drive in a quarter of a mile away from madeline’s house.
madeline took the flowers from chris, handing them to you, as she made her way out the door hand in hand with chris. “home by 11!” you hear her mother yell out, just before the front door shut.
in somewhat of a rush to get home and study, you made your way to the kitchen, quickly putting the flowers in an old vase, and taking them upstairs to carefully place them in madi’s room.
just as you were about to be out the door to head home, madeline’s mother calls out, “y/n, dear, if you don’t mind, madi’s jacket is in here on the kitchen table, i worry about her being cold, drop it off to her will you?” “yeah of course.” you mumbled.
you really didn’t want too. crash a date, oh brother just what you needed. at least it wasn’t a very long walk.
you made your way to the side gate, sneaking in so you wouldn’t have to pay to see john carpenter’s halloween, and eat carnival snacks. by the side gate, was the old lawn chairs for the people who didn’t park in time.
it was there you caught matt and nick, but no chris and madi. “hey, um.. matt.” you whispered, tapping his shoulder, at first his expression was annoyed before turning around and realizing it was you.
“oh, hey y/n. you need anything?” he asked, standing, moving to the middle area so you two weren’t in anyone’s way. “yeah, madi’s mom asked if i could bring her jacket. do you know where they are?” you asked, watching a slight blush come across his face.
“oh, uh, i kinda let them have the car to themselves. whatever they’re doin’… i promise madi’s alright without it. i’ll hold it for her though?” matt explained, scratching the back of his neck. “oh!” you gasped, finally picking up what he was laying down. “yeah, um, thanks.” you said quickly, handing the jacket to matt.
“woah, woah!” he spoke, a little loudly as he ran a bit to catch up with you. “let me walk you home? there’s a good hour left, i’ve got time to get back. and there’s bad people out there at night.”
was he this sweet to every girl? or was it because his brother was trying to have sex with your best friend?
“matt i really appreciate it, but i don’t want to make you leave your car.” you smiled, turning once more to walk away.
however, he caught up in just enough time to grab your arm and have you face him again. “y/n, it’s not making me do anything. i’m offering. please let me walk you, at least to the main part of town?”
you looked between his eyes, which were pleading for you to say yes, and the ground. “sure,” you mumbled, he smiled a bit, turning towards the exit, walking the both of you out again.
“you’re a real good friend, y/n. bringing her that coat,” he smiled down to you. “oh, it was no big deal. i’d do just about anything for madeline.” you smiled to him, “that’s sweet.” he laughed a bit.
you two hadn’t made it far, maybe 5 or 6 minutes away as rain out of nowhere began pouring. “oh shit, here y/n, cover yourself we can get back to my car and head home.” matt yelled over the rain, handing you the jacket.
as you placed it over your head, you felt matt secure a hand around your waist as he made his way back to the side gate quickly running the two of you to his car.
“fuckin’ hell that rain came out of nowhere.” he huffed, quickly opening the door for you, as he ran to his side. “y/n?! what are you doing here?” madeline asked, a smirk sly on her face. “i- your mom asked me to bring you a jacket, and matt was going to walk me back to the main side of town, but it’s raining and-”
“and now i’m taking the both of you home.” matt answered, cutting you off. it wasn’t rude, just seemed he was trying to avoid conversation.
“i wish nick would hurry his fucking ass.” chris mumbled, sliding an arm around madi. “finally.” he laughed, as nick opened the passenger side, slamming it shut once he seen you and hopping in the back.
where did sweet matt go? more importantly, why did you care?
it’s not like you and matt were on a date. madi and chris were. matt’s just being a nice guy. that’s all. and him cutting off any question on why you two were together, gave you all you needed to know. he didn’t see you that way, and he didn’t want madi thinking he seen you that way.
as he turned the radio on, an old love song sounded through. matt only rolled his eyes as he quickly shut it off, getting onto the highway and headed toward madeline’s house.
the drive was short, and matt was silent as he threw the car in park. “please don’t take years telling her goodnight chris. i wanna go home,” he mumbled, scrolling through his phone. chris rolled his eyes, mumbling “dickhead” as he got out, helping madeline slide out of the middle seat.
“matthew, is everything alright?” you asked, he blushed, looking up to you, “yeah. just- i don’t like driving in the rain.” he nodded, his full attention now back to his phone.
you bit back tears, as quickly as chris came back to the car. “i live on marbury lane. it’s just passed the drive in, and after the red light.” you explained. “i know where it’s at. chris dated one of your neighbors last year.” matt explained, putting the car in drive as he took off.
you supposed once chris is done with a girl, matt’s good guy facade is done too.
the drive was short and simple, and before you knew it, his car was parked just in front of your driveway.
you sighed as you picked up your school bag, and just before you had the opportunity to open the door. “wait, y/n, i’ll walk you in.” matt explained, hopping out quickly, coming to open your door.
you gave him a shy smile, as he opened the door giving you room to step out. “i’m sorry, if i seemed rude.” his voice was soft, and he didn’t slam the car door. “oh, really it’s alright.” you smiled turning to head to the door. “no, y/n… i was nervous. around your friend- and- i don’t know. i shouldn’t have acted that way.”
“it’s okay, matthew. goodnight.”
“let me take you out.”
the silence that fell upon both of you was deafening. “i don’t- matt i don’t date. you’re sweet but-” “but what?” he asked, his voice cracking a bit as he sounded genuinely hurt. “it’s not you matt. i just don’t date.” you shrugged.
“are you not allowed?” he asked, stepping toward you. “it’s not that i’m not allowed, my mom wants me to date.. i just have a plan matt. and i don’t need anything tying me here.”
god y/n, you thought to yourself. get over yourself! you want to go out with him, what is stopping you?!
“please? just one date, if i can’t change your mind with one, you can swear off dating again and i won’t complain. i’m sorry for being a dick, i just didn’t know how to talk to you in front of someone i didn’t know, but i’ll work on it if you just-” “matt if i say yes, will you quit rambling?” you giggled to the blushing boy.
his smile only grew, “only if you say yes.”
“you’ve got yourself a date, sturniolo. but please don’t bring your brothers.”
“anything for you.”
this was just a cute idea i had :,)

The Freak and The Princess (I)
Summary: Eddie lets you walk by during his rant in the cafeteria, stumped by your quietness and manners toward the town freak. He then decides to be the perfect gentlemen. [Part 1 of 5 depending on if anyone actually reads it.] 2k+ Words
Warnings: none! Just more fluff than a Pomeranian. There is also a very good chance Eddie is OOC but Imma risk it (if you get that reference, we should be friends).
A/N: (I'm terrified to do this.) This is the first thing that I've ever posted so constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated! I've been writing stories like this for years but have been too scared to post them for a variety of reasons, but I love writing and reading so if one person can get a little joy from this, then my goal is reached. I edited this and proofread it, but please point out any errors or things that you like! And please send requests; all the characters I write for are under my tag #characters! Hope you enjoy! :)
The Freak and The Princess
Part One: My Princess
Being as quiet as I am has its pros and cons.
Pros: I don’t get noticed often, can easily observe everything around me, and can escape my real life whenever I want.
Cons: when I do get noticed, it gets real.
I’ve lived in Hawkins since eighth grade. Now I’m a senior. I don’t have any consistent friends, although Steve Harrington came to be someone I knew I could trust and talk to after dealing with the Russians side by side last year. The only person I noticed for myself was Eddie Munson. He was a big, bad high schooler when I moved here, and I guess that hasn’t changed. Since he’s two years older than me, we’ve never talked or met, but I know who he is, and he’s one of the few people who can make me smile without even realizing I’m there.
I was walking through the cafeteria, trying to get outside away from all the noise and people, when I heard a voice I’d recognize anywhere say, “But as long as you’re into band, or... science. Or parties. Or A GAME WHERE YOU TOSS BALLS INTO LAUNDRY BASKETS!!”
I watched as he walked down the Hellfire lunch table, stopping at the end and responding to Jason’s comment with fake devil horns. He continued talking, jumping off the table and finishing. He stepped back, motioning for me and another girl ahead of me to walk by him.
“Thanks,” I whispered, smiling as I met his eye. I felt his eyes on me as I walked by, and I decided he was trying to figure out who I was. I waited in an empty classroom until most people cleared out before walking to my locker and gathering my things.
“Hey,” someone said beside me. I jumped slightly before turning to see Eddie leaning against the lockers and looking at me.
“Hi, Eddie,” I said quietly.
“You know my name?”
“Who doesn’t?”
“Man, now I feel bad. Let me guess?”
I laughed lightly and nodded, closing my locker and picking up my bag.
“Marcie? No, that doesn’t fit. Kelsey? Too cheerleader-y. Princess?”
“That your final guess?” I smiled. He nodded, a proud look on his face. My watch beeped, and I pressed it to silence it.
“That’s my cue. See you around, Eddie!” I said, walking out the door.
“See ya, princess!” he called. I blushed, glad to have my back to him. The next day I went to school as usual; until lunch. I walked into the cafeteria, on my way through as always, when I felt someone walk up beside me.
“Hey, so I haven’t seen you around before and wanted to introduce myself. I’m Jason Carver.”
I kept walking, not talking to him. “What, I can’t even get a name? Pretty girl like you has to have a pretty name!” I was at the door when he grabbed my wrist, “Look, I get that you’re shy. All I’m asking for is a name, beautiful.”
He was surprisingly cordial, but I knew there had to be a catch.
I thought quickly, deciding to say, “Arwen.”
I pulled my hand from him and rushed outside. After my last class, I walked to my locker, hoping to see Eddie again, but soon my watch beeped, and I headed to work.
“Hey, kiddo, how was school?” Steve asked as I walked into Family Video and pulled my vest on. I shrugged and started stocking tapes. I heard the door open then close before Steve spoke to me again. “Something happen?” I shook my head no. “I’m gonna go check on Robin. I’ll be right back,” he said, moving past me quietly.
“Princess?” I heard from the other end of the aisle.
I looked over to see Eddie with two tapes in his hand. I smiled at him and quietly said, “Hi.”
“Fancy meeting you here. Should'a known The Hair got to you,” he smiled, standing closer to me.
“Take it easy, Munson,” Steve warned as he returned to the counter.
Eddie rolled his eyes, causing me to laugh lightly. His smile widened, and he held two movies from the new release pile. “Which one?” I gestured to The Goonies, watching as he nodded and slid the other back where he’d pulled it from.
“Didn’t see you at lunch today. You race through the cafeteria again?”
“Munson, leave her-“ Steve started before stopping when he heard me talking.
“Got corned by Carver and had to make a run for it,” I answered.
Steve jumped the counter, pointing at me as he rounded the corner into the aisle. “Did you just answer him?” Eddie and I nodded, Steve’s jaw dropping further. “How long have you two known each other?”
“Uh,” Eddie looked at his watch, “thirty-six hours.”
“And you’re already talking to him?” Steve asked incredulously. I shrugged in response, continuing what I was doing.
“She talk to you?” Eddie asked Steve.
“Yeah, but it took her a lot longer to start.”
“I just have a welcoming and calming persona.” I laughed, shaking my head. Eddie walked past me to check out the movie, still bickering with Steve. He turned to me as he walked out, waving.
“Let me know what you think,” I said, pointing to the tape with my chin.
“Absolutely. See you tomorrow, princess.”
“Did Eddie 'The Freak' Munson just call you ‘princess’?”
“Yeah. He didn’t know my name, so he started calling me that.”
“Why didn’t you tell him your name?”
“Couldn’t. I don’t mind though.” I fell silent again, ignoring Steve’s questions and comments. I went home a few hours later, finishing my homework and hoping to see Eddie again tomorrow.
~
I exited my fourth-period class, ready to sit by myself for lunch. I walked into the cafeteria, taking a new route the other way around to avoid Jason. I ended up closer to the Hellfire table, smiling as I saw Eddie in a heated conversation with the boys.
“Hey, beautiful,” Jason said, slinging an arm around my shoulders as he came up behind me.
I was too far from the door and knew I couldn’t speak more than a few words. I only had one choice. I shrugged his arm off me and made a beeline for the Hellfire Table. There was an open seat by Eddie, so I slid into it, looking at him as they all silenced, staring at me. I flitted my eyes toward Jason, who glared at me and Eddie. I was shrinking into myself, wanting the floor to swallow me, when I felt Eddie grab my hand, his thumb rubbing the back.
“Guys, this is my princess. Princess, these are the guys,” he said. Then leaned in and whispered, “I won’t let anything happen to you, ‘kay?”
I nodded, squeezing his hand slightly. Jason stormed off, and I breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t move to leave, choosing instead to silently listen to the guys talk about their new Hellfire campaign as I played with Eddie’s rings. Walking out of my last class, I saw someone leaning against the locker beside mine.
“Thanks for the help at lunch,” I said, walking by him and opening my locker.
“Anytime, princess. You working today?”
“No, I’m off the rest of the week. Scheduling error by my idiot boss, Keith.”
Eddie nodded. We both looked out the window when a loud crack of thunder sounded, and rain started pouring down.
“You have a ride?” Eddie asked, pushing off the locker as I closed mine.
“No, but I don’t live far.”
“Absolutely not. I’ll give you a ride.” He slipped his jacket off and laid it over my shoulders.
“Eddie, you don’t have to. It’s completely fine. I’ve walked home in the rain before.”
“A princess should never walk home. Let alone in the rain. As long as I’m here, it won’t happen again.” He extended his hand, “Milady.”
I placed my hand in his, our fingers interlacing as I said, “Why thank you, kind sir.” We ran to his van, and I gave him directions to my house. “See you tomorrow?” I asked, beginning to take his jacket off as he parked in my driveway.
“Of course. Keep the jacket, you still have to walk in.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I can pick you up in the morning if it’s still raining like the forecast said.”
“I’d really like that. Thanks for the ride, Eddie.”
“A pleasure, princess.”
I ran to my front porch, shaking the rain off and unlocking my front door. I waved to Eddie as he backed out, then went into the empty house. There was one more day, then solitude. At least I had Eddie and Steve to make the days more tolerable.
~
Eddie kept his promise, pulling up in front of my house as I stepped outside. I moved to return his jacket, but he shook his head, “That’s yours until it stops raining.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yep. Have to keep my princess dry and warm.”
‘My princess.’ His princess.
We walked into school together before going our separate ways for classes. I walked into the lunchroom, setting my sights on the Hellfire table. I was just a few steps away when Jason stopped me, standing between me and the table.
“You have a lot of nerve ignoring me,” he said loudly. I saw Eddie pick his head up and look over, making eye contact with me over Jason’s shoulder. He stood up but didn’t move toward me, waiting.
“You gonna say anything? Can you even talk, Arwen?” I heard a few laughs before Jason continued, “What? Did The Freak sell your soul and your tongue to the devil?” I clenched my jaw, starting to see red. “Just a matter of time until he sacrifices you. Or worse,” he whispered. He backed up with an evil grin. Now everything was red.
“How do you know he hasn’t sacrificed your soul? Oh, that’s right, your head is so far up your butt you’d notice the extra room,” I responded quickly.
The whole cafeteria broke out into yells and clapping.
“What’d you just say to me?”
“I said to get your ears checked. Your ego seems to be clogging everything up.”
“Who do you think you are?”
“Not half the person you think you are.”
“If you want attention, baby, just come out and say it.”
I saw Eddie step toward us but gently shook my head, stopping him.
“Maybe I do want attention. But I promise I don’t want yours. So, if you’d be so kind as to move out of my way, I’d appreciate it.” He took a single step to the side. “Oh, and if you so much as look at me or any other member of Hellfire again, I will shove my foot up your butt until your heart stops. Got it?”
Jason nodded and rushed out of the room, everyone cheering again as I walked toward Eddie and grabbed his hand. He nodded, following me to an empty classroom.
“Why did I do that?” I groaned as I sat down, burying my face in my hands.
“Because you’re amazing.”
“Now people know who I am, and they’ll talk to me.”
“I’ll become your personal bodyguard. Nobody will be able to talk to my princess.”
The bell rang, and we reluctantly returned to classes, meeting by my locker at the end of the day.
“Let’s drop by Hellfire real quick.” We entered the room, and he dug through a box before pulling something out and turning around, unfurling one of the signature Hellfire Club t-shirts. “This should fit. You called yourself a member at lunch and we have a very strict policy regarding verbal agreements.”
“Oh, of course,” I smiled and slid it over my other shirt.
We stopped by Family Video to return Eddie’s tape, Steve’s eyes widening as we walked in together, asking, “What’s happening here?”
“Someone stuck it to Carver today, in front of the whole school,” Eddie smiled.
“Good job, babe,” Steve said as he began returning the movie, “How ya feelin'?”
“I’m ok,” I shrugged, “hoping this doesn’t lead to people trying to talk to me.”
“Well, keep hanging with this freak and it won’t be a problem.” Steve smirked at Eddie.
“Whatever, Hair.” Eddie playfully rolled his eyes. “Let’s go, princess.” He wrapped his arm around me, and I waved to Steve before walking toward the door.
“Take care of my girl,” Steve yelled.
“I’ll take care of MY princess,” Eddie yelled as the door closed.

Robert Johnson
According to legend, as a young man living on a plantation in rural Mississippi, Johnson had a tremendous desire to become a great blues musician. One of the legends often told says that Johnson was instructed to take his guitar to a crossroad near Dockery Plantation at midnight. (There are claims for other sites as the location of the crossroads.) There he was met by a large black man (the Devil) who took the guitar and tuned it. The Devil played a few songs and then returned the guitar to Johnson, giving him mastery of the instrument. This story of a deal with the Devil at the crossroads mirrors the legend of Faust. In exchange for his soul, Johnson was able to create the blues for which he became famous.
Tumblr media
This legend was developed over time and has been chronicled by Gayle Dean Wardlow, Edward Komara and Elijah Wald, who sees the legend as largely dating from Johnson's rediscovery by white fans more than two decades after his death. Son House once told the story to Pete Welding as an explanation of Johnson's astonishingly rapid mastery of the guitar. Other interviewers failed to elicit any confirmation from House and there were fully two years between House's observation of Johnson as first a novice and then a master.
Further details were absorbed from the imaginative retellings by Greil Marcus and Robert Palmer. Most significantly, the detail was added that Johnson received his gift from a large black man at a crossroads. There is dispute as to how and when the crossroads detail was attached to the Robert Johnson story. All the published evidence, including a full chapter on the subject in the biography Crossroads, by Tom Graves, suggests an origin in the story of the blues musician Tommy Johnson. This story was collected from his musical associate Ishman Bracey and his elder brother Ledell in the 1960s. One version of Ledell Johnson's account was published in David Evans's 1971 biography of Tommy Johnson, and was repeated in print in 1982 alongside House's story in the widely read Searching for Robert Johnson, by Peter Guralnick.
In another version, Ledell placed the meeting not at a crossroads but in a graveyard. This resembles the story told to Steve LaVere that Ike Zimmerman of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, learned to play the guitar at midnight while sitting on tombstones. Zimmerman is believed to have influenced the playing of the young Johnson.
Recent research by the blues scholar Bruce Conforth, in Living Blues magazine, makes the story clearer. Johnson and Ike Zimmerman did practice in a graveyard at night, because it was quiet and no one would disturb them, but it was not the Hazlehurst cemetery as had been believed: Zimmerman was not from Hazlehurst but nearby Beauregard, and he did not practice in one graveyard, but in several in the area. Johnson spent about a year living with and learning from Zimmerman, who ultimately accompanied Johnson back to the Delta to look after him.
While Dockery, Hazlehurst and Beauregard have each been claimed as the locations of the mythical crossroads, there are also tourist attractions claiming to be "The Crossroads" in both Clarksdale and Memphis. Residents of Rosedale, Mississippi, claim Johnson sold his soul to the devil at the intersection of Highways 1 and 8 in their town, while the 1986 movie Crossroads was filmed in Beulah, Mississippi. The blues historian Steve Cheseborough wrote that it may be impossible to discover the exact location of the mythical crossroads, because "Robert Johnson was a rambling guy".
Some scholars have argued that the devil in these songs may refer not only to the Christian figure of Satan but also to the trickster god of African origin, Legba, himself associated with crossroads. Folklorist Harry M. Hyatt wrote that, during his research in the South from 1935 to 1939, when African-Americans born in the 19th or early 20th century said they or anyone else had "sold their soul to the devil at the crossroads", they had a different meaning in mind. Hyatt claimed there was evidence indicating African religious retentions surrounding Legba and the making of a "deal" (not selling the soul in the same sense as in the Faustian tradition cited by Graves) with the so-called devil at the crossroads.
The Blues and the Blues singer has really special powers over women, especially. It is said that the Blues singer could possess women and have any woman they wanted. And so when Robert Johnson came back, having left his community as an apparently mediocre musician, with a clear genius in his guitar style and lyrics, people said he must have sold his soul to the devil. And that fits in with this old African association with the crossroads where you find wisdom: you go down to the crossroads to learn, and in his case to learn in a Faustian pact, with the devil. You sell your soul to become the greatest musician in history.
This view that the devil in Johnson's songs is derived from an African deity was disputed by the blues scholar David Evans in an essay published in 1999, "Demythologizing the Blues":
There are ... several serious problems with this crossroads myth. The devil imagery found in the blues is thoroughly familiar from western folklore, and nowhere do blues singers ever mention Legba or any other African deity in their songs or other lore. The actual African music connected with cults of Legba and similar trickster deities sounds nothing like the blues, but rather features polyrhythmic percussion and choral call-and-response singing.
The musicologist Alan Lomax dismissed the myth, stating, "In fact, every blues fiddler, banjo picker, harp blower, piano strummer and guitar framer was, in the opinion of both himself and his peers, a child of the Devil, a consequence of the black view of the European dance embrace as sinful in the extreme".
Both Lomax's and Evans's accounts themselves have been disputed and dismissed by Black scholars and authors including Amiri Baraka and Cornel West. West defines Blues as a creation of a people "who are willing to look unflinchingly at catastrophic conditions", as children of God responding to those conditions. Baraka's words are more directly critical of white writers who study African-American Blues artform and culture from a Western viewpoint, stating that they "They have to do that to make themselves superior in some kind of way: that everything has come from Europe, which is not true". Baraka cites that rather than being formed out of any Western context, Blues derives from an African context of its own. The call-and-response singing Lomax argues is different from Blues has been widely cited as being a central aspect of Blues music.

a couple little vol 7 thoughts featuring vashwood brainrot 😎✌️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
man this scene makes my brain itch on so many different levels lmao, like on the surface level wtf wolfwood!! we’ve just had all these chapters explicitly digging into how vash has a Problem where he tries to hide his pain under empty smiles- and in fact wolfwood clocked that about him pretty much instantly back when they first met! so of course badgering him about ~looking sad~ (especially when he started the page with a neutral to mildly glum expression) is just gonna make him try harder to cover it up, and that’s exactly what he does with that stupid little smile on the second page 😔
but wolfwood’s whole point here is that that shit isn’t gonna work on him no matter how hard vash tries! unfortunately wolfwood is also emotionally constipated as hell, so it comes out as aggression and teasing rather than anything genuine.
actually i just gotta revisit that earlier moment here because the contrast is just fascinating lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like goddamn wolfwood really came in hot with the sincerity in that first meeting, how did we go from that to this?? was it just because they were strangers then, and wolfwood thought he could get away with saying shit like that because their paths might never cross again? this was also before ww got his assignment from Knives- did he not know this was the boss’s brother? he probably didn’t realize the twins’ inhumanity at that point either… he’s had a lot to grapple with over the course of this assignment, both re: the twins’ apocalyptic power, and the fact that he has to betray vash at the end of it, that would naturally create a need for emotional distance. allowing honesty and attachment with vash puts too much at risk.
so really, given that very high-stakes need for distance, it’s telling that wolfwood still can’t help expressing his awareness of vash’s suffering & investment in cheering him up, even if it comes out in such a ridiculous way lol
it also seems like a clumsy/oblique way of trying to reassure vash that he’s still a person? vash’s inhuman nature has come more to the forefront lately- losing control in the dragon’s nest, regaining the memory of all the death he caused in july, catching that bullet with a feather only for the whole town to turn against him for it- and it’s clearly been weighing on him. so wolfwood acknowledges that angle by calling him all those awful things- “the legendary devil gunman, the humanoid typhoon”- but immediately discredits them by pointing out vash’s softheartedness.
idk i also have one more little bit of brainrot about the moment they share leaving the bar, acknowledging that things are about to get serious with Knives
Tumblr media
like goddamn there’s so much meaning packed into that exchange!! it’s the closest they really come to acknowledging their whole “you know i know you know” deal around wolfwood’s assignment. (hah, “i told you from the start…”, fuck. ) like, openly telling vash that knives sent him would break the plausible deniability that wolfwood is simply fulfilling his mission, and that would put the orphanage in danger. at the same time, he has been 0% subtle and never actually *lied* to vash about it either- the few times vash has asked direct questions, wolfwood has given him vague answers or conspicuous silence and allowed him to draw his own conclusions.
so this seems like their weird twisty way of setting mutual expectations for what’s going to happen next. wolfwood is vash’s “guide”, no more and no less- he has enough insider information to bring vash safely to his brother’s door, but past that point wolfwood will stay out of the confrontation. it’s the one thing wolfwood and both brothers all agree is best, whether they like it or not. god wolfwood’s face in that last panel kills me
i am absolutely normal about this

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐇𝐔𝐈𝐙𝐎𝐓𝐋 - 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝟏
Tumblr media
Summary: When Y/N needs help on a hunt, she doesn't expect Bobby to send Dean Winchester to her. Now the two must work together to solve the case and Dean has to deal with Y/N's sarcastic and biting personality, that maybe he likes a little too much.
Pairing: Dean × F!Reader
Warnings: just some swearing
Word count: 2168
Series
Tumblr media
It was early morning when Dean's phone rang in the motel room where the brothers were spending the night.
"Hello?" Dean said sleepily after glancing at Sam as he sat up on the bed next to his, his arm in a cast because of yesterday's hunt. He probably should have taken a break from work for a while.
“Dean, it's Bobby. I found you a case, well not me exactly.”
"Awesome! And I thought I could sleep for two hours in a raw."
"'Oh shut up. So, do you want this case or not?”
"What is it about?"
"I have no idea. Y/N called me, she says she's never seen anything like this, she needs backup."
"Y/N? Oh c'mon..."
She was an excellent hunter, a ruthless professional. A person perhaps a little too sarcastic and stubborn, of those who never admitted they were wrong even if they knew perfectly well they were.
"Don't complain. Y/N is a smart girl! And I know you like her even if you pretend you don't, okay?”
"What? No I…" Dean was interrupted by a low, mocking laugh.
"Okay, okay." He said rolling his eyes, even though Bobby couldn't see it. "Sam has a broken arm, he can't hunt like this."
His brother snorted.
"He can stay with me until you are dome with this hunt." Bobby replied.
Dean glanced at Sam, who didn't look really convinced.
"Okay. Where's Y/N?"
"Toledo, Ohio. You can find her at the Devil Return Motel, room 12."
Dean couldn't help but smile, he was sure she had chosen a motel with that name on purpose.
Tumblr media
That fucking case had forced her to ask for help, something she didn't do often. Y/N was poring over everything she could glean from searches around the town but she couldn't come to a logical conclusion.
Bernard Dubois, the first victim, had been attacked in his residence and then deprived of all nails and eyes. Other pieces of flesh that appeared to have been bitten off the body were also missing.
Mark Stern, on the other hand, the second victim, seemed to have had less luck: this one had been found in the garden of his residence without teeth, in addition to nails and eyes.
Y/N had been in that town for two days now and that "thing" had already caused two deaths. One dead a day wasn't a good pace and she knew she couldn't do it alone.
When she heard a knock at the door she got up from the old brown couch and went to open it, expecting some old bearded and experienced hunter: she had specified to Bobby how weird this hunt was.
Protected by the chain, she opened the door a little, remaining impassive on seeing Dean.
Dean Winchester was one of the best hunters she'd ever met, hell maybe the best ever but working with him was always terribly difficult for both of them. But that didn't make her like him any less, she just had to put on a little show.
"Y/N, how long! Are you going to let me in or…?” and she closed the door again, almost slamming it in his face.
"Hey!" She heard him on the other side.
She rolled her eyes and moved the bolt so she could finally open the door. Moving away from the entrance they reached the center of the room.
"Don't you check that i'm not a monster or something?"
He asked surprised by such a... frivolous welcome.
When she turned to answer him, she looked up at the ceiling and Dean did the same.
"Anti-demon" nodded Dean seeing the pentacle painted in black. "I would have made it under the rug tho," he added, receiving a look that could have incinerated him instantly.
"What if I was something else?" He asked closing the door behind him.
“I've fitted a silver handle and the mirror says you're not a shapeshifter. Do you want to do your job now or do you want to continue humiliating yourself?” She smiled at him victorious, handing him the sheets with the newspaper articles.
A case with Dean Winchester. It was going to be a hell of a hunt.
Anyone in their right mind would have preferred to stay away from that manipulative and sometimes even seemingly selfish woman. Only apparently, Dean thought, he knew that behind that facade there was a part of her that she didn't show very often. Dean had known her for a long time, they had worked together several times, since before Sam left Stanford to go looking for John with him.
Dean dropped the bag on the mattress and walked over to the table covered in photos and documents, placing his hands on opposite sides of it, followed by Y/N.
On the table, photos and medical records continued to dance before her eyes, as if they were reproaching her incompetence.
"I'll set everything on fire once I find that son of a bitch" she muttered annoyed starting to move the sheets for the umpteenth time, so that they could compare the victims.
Origins, frequented places, age, job, physical traits: everything seemed to not coincide. This implied a lack of pattern.
"Which of the monsters we know prefers to eat the side dish rather than the main course?" She asked Dean, sometimes having the same sarcasm as someone else was an advantage.
Dean gave the papers one last look and then sat down on the edge of the bed. "Rugaru?" He tried passing the list over in his mind.
"A picky Rugaru? I doubt it" Y/N disagreed as she continued to stare at those papers which by now she knew by heart. “Besides, there were animals footprints at both crime scenes.”
"So-"
“Werewolves? Are you serious?" She anticipated him turning her head in his direction just to be able to throw him one of her "and I should collaborate with you?" looks.
“And I said animals footprints. More animals.”
She moved to what should have been the kitchen and picked up a book she'd forgotten on the counter while taking a snack break from her research. She threw it at him without even a warning, at least he still had quick reflexes.
"Otters" she anticipated him again when he saw him open the book, helped by the post-it that marked the offending page.
"Otters? Are you kidding me?" Dean gave her a questioning and somewhat incredulous look.
“Not this time. Otters and dogs" she added, opening the mini bar to get a beer just for her. Little sense of welcome, definitely.
She felt like she was playing Guess Who, but it was a very long and definitely not funny game.
Dean leafed through the book and then went back to reading the documents scattered on the table.
"C'mon, Sherlock. I'm sure you can do it." he teased him opening her beer and taking a long drink.
In both cases the men had been deprived of eyes and nails, feet and hands.
"What creature prefers eyeballs to human flesh?" He asked to himself, trying to remember if he had ever read anything like this in John's journal. Obviously he knew those pages, every note that John had written had been assimilated in a short time during his father's absence. So he was pretty sure John Winchester's diary wasn't going to help him. To make sure, however, he decided to take a quick look.
He sat back on the bed, and pulled his source of information from his duffel bag, the thing that had kept Sam and Dean going all those years. He leafed through it quickly but carefully until he reached the last page. He closed the journar, resigned and he sighed.
"Well, that's weird," he said. "Did the two gentlemen here have absolutely nothing in common?"
"As far as I know, no," Y/N answered after sipping his beer, shrugging. “One of them even lived outside Toledo.”
"But his body was found dead here, right?" the man asked again. Y/N nodded.
"Nah! There must be something. There's always something." He put the diary back in the bag and returned to concentrating on the documents of the victims. He turned to look at the girl, his eyes narrowed.
"Did you check if the two guys knew each other?" he asked, receiving only a suspicious silence in response.
From her guilty expression, he knew perfectly well that the idea hadn't even crossed her mind.
Dean chuckled amused and also very pleased.
“I take that as a no,” he said, patting her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, it happens to the best of us."
He turned away from her and went to arrange his things on the couch in the corner of the room.
“Tomorrow morning we're going to talk to the families of these two. Now it's late and we should sleep."
If she could, she would have hit herself.
How could she not think of such a thing? She had focused so much on love matters to understand if it could be a passionate revenge that she had totally forgotten to ask their families for confirmation. She knew everything about the lives of those fucking dudes and not if they knew each other.
And did you need a Winchester get it? She admonished herself inwardly, shaking her head.
Y/N glanced at Dean as he dropped his dark red shirt and T-shirt on the back of the armchair in front of the couch. “So, do you wanna sleep or not? I bet you haven't slept in at least fifty hours.”
He, on the other hand, hadn't slept for three days. He had had a very difficult case that had given him a hard time and he had also had to take Sam to the hospital, which hunters only did when things were really bad and he had been in the waiting room for hours and then returned at the motel with a pissed off Sam about his arm in a cast.
He hadn't even had time to close his eyes before he got Bobby's call, which was why he was there now.
“You don't need to worry about me, Dean. I have to get some stuff ready for tomorrow." Y/N retorted without even glancing at him, busy fiddling with fake FBI badges.
«No offence, sweetheart, but you don't look really good» insisted Dean, also stripping of his jeans to freely remain half naked. "You should sleep."
«Never as much as you, love. With those dark circles you have, even the monster we're dealing with would run away» she retorted choosing the most suitable badge for that case and leaving it on the table.
"Now shut up and sleep." she said firmly trying to convince him.
But Dean didn't seem to want to listen to her. Of course, he wanted to sleep and send her to hell but he just couldn't do it knowing that she stayed awake when she needed to sleep too.
Y/N fumbled some more with the things in her bag and then turned back to Dean, finding him still wide awake, staring at her.
She huffed, finally giving in and Dean had to hide a smile.
“You're a real pain in the ass, you know that?” She complained as she began to pull off her shoes, followed by her socks and jeans.
"I take the couch?" Dean said uncertainly as she pulled on an extra large t-shirt.
“Didn't you say you wanted to sleep? Well, I assure you that it's impossible to sleep on that couch» she shook his head as he approached the bed and lifted the sheets. «I don't bite, Dean» she invited him to follow her, sitting down on the bed.
"I mean, yes, I bite, but not now," she corrected herself with a guilty smile, leaning back on the bed with his arms folded. "So?"
They were just like cat and dog, except that they fought like an old married couple, but still cared about each other.
Dean raised his eyebrows, thinking about her proposal and moved his gaze to the couch which, to be honest, looked really questionable. Leather, a little scratched at the seams and with not exactly accommodating cushions. He looked at the bed and then once more at Y/N, who was patting the empty seat next to her.
Dean sighed and finally moved. He lay down next to her and rested his head on the pillow, it wasn't the first time they'd shared a bed, only it had been almost a year since the last time.
Maybe, the last time had been when, after drinking a little too much, they had almost ended up doing something else in that bed. They both pretended not to remember that night, anyway.
"Why isn't Sam with you?" she asked.
"Broken arm, he's staying at Bobby's." He murmured in an already sleepy voice.
"Now we should rest," he said then, settling on his side, facing right at her. “Try not to stare at me too much while I sleep, okay?”

Can a Wittebane special ever air on Disney Channel? I wonder how they will tackle the religious themes and murder of Caleb while keeping it Child friendly.
HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Oh, wait, you actually think it'd focus on Philip?
Sorry for the mocking statements but that is the long and short of it. To keep it child friendly, for what is most compelling, and for what would be most in line with TOH, the way a Wittebane special would go is actually pretty easy to map out, at least with the moments that we know about:
You start with a teenage boy looking gaunt and exhausted as he prepares for a day in the woods to forage for things that he can get and wood to chop. He needs to make money for him and his little brother, Philip, after all. He hasn't really gotten to eat much more than scraps for the past couple days but hey, that's okay. Philip gets to eat and that's all the nourishment Caleb needs. He wants his little brother to have a proper childhood and he'll give up anything for that.
While out in the woods that day though, he catches a smell. An absolutely divine smell. He follows it to its source and finds a woman in a cloak feeding the animals of the area. The bread she has smells like heaven but how she speaks to the animals reeks of the devil. His stomach gives him away though and she turns with a wry grin. She isn't afraid of him but intrigued because he didn't immediately attack, something she calls out when he won't eat her bread because of his suspicions. They strike a deal that Evelyn will tell him a truth in return for the bread. That way he knows his soul isn't the price of it. "Are you a witch?" "Yes." And that moment of pure honesty makes Caleb pause. Then he runs. He runs fast and hard, racing back to town to be sure that he can tell everyone and potentially get his brother away. To keep him safe from that which threatens them all. However, he is stopped by the fact that his little brother is sobbing and soaked. One of the other kids tricked him into the river and said they shouldn't have bother to be washed up onto the shore. They should have just drowned in the ocean because if God wanted them, they would still have... have... Caleb holds him tight before looking at the sole remaining photo he has of all four of them. The next day he is in mass, his leg shaking as he listens to the fire and brimstone the preacher speaks of. He can't focus on the words though. Not as he looks at how the kids that hurt Philip are at the front of the pews while they sit in the back because no one wants them near them. There's anger and hate in this room and it gnaws at his gut just as badly as his hunger does.
And so now we get some time of Philip and Evelyn bonding, romancing and we see the seasons pass in a sweet, effective montage to speedrun their romance, especially if this is just a 44 minute special or the like, let alone if it's 22. This montage could easily also show how the two growing older and contrast Caleb's joys of embracing the other with Philip's growing anger as he spends time in town and is indoctrinated, all without having to say what he is being indoctrinated for besides imagery of burning fires.
Then finally, we have Evelyn asking when Caleb plans to tell his brother. Caleb doesn't know. At first it was to make sure Evelyn was actually safe. Then never finding the right time because of fear of someone in town hearing. Now... Now Philip is so converted to witch hunting that he doesn't know what to do. They're even considering making his little brother witch hunter general because of just how committed he is. Caleb feels defeated and tired and all he really feels like he has left is Evelyn.
"Well... Maybe it's time to find your own path then. Your brother will be fine at your home and... And maybe you'll be fine at mine. With the rest of the witches."
It then cuts to Philip, furious, slamming open the door to the house. He has a ritual dagger in his hand... Because he has been named a lead hunter while one of those brats from when they were younger is Witch Hunter General. Just another time where the town decided to choose the people over parents than him. Over the one with the purest soul in town. At least, he thinks as he picks up the family photo and tries to calm himself, one of them. He needs his brother. He's gone again. He wishes Caleb would let him take care of him now. He makes enough money through the church to support them after all. He doesn't have to keep risking his life in the woods anymore.
"With the rest of the witches."
Philip's heart sinks. What? Who is this woman? He's never seen her? Wait, if she's with the witches, his brother is in danger! But the rest of them? If he waits for them to go he can find all of them and they'll HAVE to make him witch hunter general! But that means risking Caleb's life. He can't allow that, even for his own-
"You're right. Philip will just be happier here and... And maybe just best that I vanish. He'll just blame a witch for it anyways and trying to say goodbye would only put as all in danger." Tears come down Philip's face and his knuckles turn white as rain begins. A familiar door opens up next to Evelyn and she turns the key we all know in it. The shine of the portal illuminates Philip's face before a bolt of lightning has it change to Belos' mask and the special ends.
And that's it. It isn't a fun version of it but there's literally no version of the Wittebanes, without major retcons, that can be told in a fun way. They are orphans from a super conservative colony who majored in witch hunting before then having a schism between them be formed due to that witch hunting. This potentially, because it's up to interpretation, led to Philip killing Caleb. Bare minimum, something happens to Caleb that leads to him being dead and haunting his brother while Philip is left stranded on the Isles with no way of going back without finding his own way. The only part of that story that could be fun or comedic is the romance plotline with Evelyn and Caleb. It's also the one that allows the most to be left in obscurity about Belos, thus enabling the show not to contradict its own lore that way. Worse yet, it's also just the best story to tell there besides the rise of witch hunter Belos but those themes are indeed incredibly dark and SUPER not fun to tackle directly so it's better that it happens mostly off screen. Also, you know, it makes sure that the show doesn't glorify bigotry and hate by having us see the rise of Philip into bigoted witch hunter from his perspective. Instead, the story focuses on being critical of such things and accepting the other, which is theoretically in line with TOH in general.
It could be an effective special but I don't think it'd end up being what Belos fans want and for people who don't like Belos, the most they'll get out of it is ANOTHER quirky romance from TOH that mirrors Huntlow too much to feel unique or special. In other words, it's mostly a lose lose situation, especially since none of these elements will make the base story any deeper. It'll just add to the confusion some feel for the fact that they believe Belos is a victim and a product of his society who has a sympathetic reason for his anger but then is just a one note, pure evil villain in the main show.
This is honestly the problem with almost anything that addresses anything we saw in the show. The contradictory nature of the base product's writing, and how it slaughtered concepts at the root, means that expanding on these concepts can only make the contradictions worse. It can only make the base work worse or have MORE people screaming "WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED!?"
It's like how me and my Discord finally settled on one option for a lore book that could actually work for TOH if they wanted to release one for the show: One that tells us all about the Isles we didn't see. We see so little of it after all that just telling us about all these neat towns, the ways they operate, or expanding on the forms of magic that never got to do anything, could be neat. It doesn't fix the base show's lack of creativity or consistency but it doesn't inherently conflict with it either. It would just be there as harmless lore that also would have a bad hook for any readers because unlike the journals for Gravity Falls or Amphibia, they wouldn't expand on a character or the like.
The best route for TOH to go is to pull a Harry Potter, again (I hate how often this show forces me to bring up that stupid series) and make Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them. Either the movie or the book as either are at best tangentially related to the series but mostly just have the name of the series on them for brand recognition because the authors of both works didn't make a good enough world to actually tell anything more compelling within it after the story was done. Not without making the base product look worse.
And that includes the story of the Wittebanes.
======+++++======
What sucks is that I actually do like the plot I wrote up for the Wittebanes. Like this could genuinely be a really interesting story to make. However A: I wouldn't do fanfiction for it because of the requirement of one killing the other eventually that effectively demands no nuance between Caleb and Philip, forcing their dynamic to be very basic and B: it still suffers from having to be basic because Belos is a basic bitch evil guy while all signs from the show point to Caleb having been an absolute paragon. I made him about as gray as I could in my write up and it's still not much.
I have a public Discord for any and all who want to join!
I also have an Amazon page for all of my original works in various forms of character focused romances from cute, teenage romance to erotica series of my past. I have an Ao3 for my fanfiction projects as well if that catches your fancy instead. If you want to hang out with me, I stream from time to time and love to chat with chat.

And a Kofi if you like what I do and want to help out with the fact that disability doesn’t pay much.

“Why are we at Reefer Rick's place? Eddie, did you just bring me on a drug deal?” Dustin asks as he follows Eddie out of his van.
“God, I don’t take twerps like you to deals. It’s bad for business.” Eddie steals Dustin's hat and messes up his hair. “You said you wanted to come with me when I got my next tat, so here we are.” He gestures with his hands towards the house while his younger friend steals his hat back.
“Reefer Rick is still in jail though isn’t he?”
“Yeah, his cousins been staying here for the past like two years or something now. She’s the one who has done all of them.” Eddie smiles at the thought of his artist. “She was out of town when all the craziness was going on though. I’ve only seen her a few times since she got back but she penned me into her schedule for this.” He chuckles at the inside joke between the two of you. You were always telling him you’d try to pen him in when he wanted to hangout after he walked in on you giving someone a sternum tattoo. You had yelled something about office hours and kicked him out swiftly covering the girl's tits before he could get a good look at them.
“You’re not gonna knock or anything?” Dustin’s eyes are wide as Eddie just opens the door.
“She wouldn’t answer it anyway. You hear that?” He’s talking about the muffled music they can hear coming from the basement. “You can barely hear yourself think when she plays music as she works.”
You’re finishing up a thigh tattoo you’re giving yourself when you hear the basement door open. Your head continues to bob up and down to the Motley Crue song as you yell for Eddie to come on down. All you have to do is finish up the shading of the skull the fairy is holding and you’ll be able to work on your favorite client.
“Hey Eds, I’ll be right with you.”
“Don’t wanna rush perfection. What’re you giving yourself this time?” He sits close to you on the bench after turning your music down a bit and takes a look trying to lean over your body without knocking into you. The smell of his cologne and a faint hint of smoke he always seems to have on him is almost enough to distract you from the task at hand.
“Another fairy, this time holding a devil skull.” He lets out a low whistle at seeing it. “I’m almost done with it and then we can get started on yours.” You still haven’t looked up from your work so you have yet to notice the kid in the room.
Dustin watches on as Eddie watches you work. He also tries not to stare too much at your bare thighs since your skirt is bunched up at the top of them. As much as he’s curious about the ink etched into your skin there he’s not sure he’s allowed to look. It’s easy not to look though, it’s much more entertaining to watch the look on Eddie’s face as he tries to gain just a glance in his direction from you. He had his suspicions with how he had talked about you before coming in but with how Eddie’s looking at you now, Dustin knows that his friend is a hundred percent into you.
“Alright, can you hand me the saran wrap? I’ll wrap this up and then show you what I came up with  for your next one.” You finally look away from your work as you wipe ink and blood away and smile at Eddie.
“Course Princess.” As he gets up and walks over to the table you have the wrap sitting on you notice the younger kid in the basement with you.
“Oh, hi who are you?”
“Y/n this is Dustin, Dustin this is the tattoo master herself Y/n.” Your face heats up at Eddie’s praise and how his fingers wrap around your shoulder when he introduces you after handing you the wrap.
“I’m not really a master, Eddie just likes to say that to flatter me. He thinks it’ll give him a discount on his tats even though he already gets a giant one for being my best friend.” Eddie barely has time to look away from watching you wrap the piece you cut off around your thigh when you look back up at him.
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“You too. So why’d he bring you along with him this time, do you want one too?” The kid looked to be about fifteen, it was close enough to your minimum age of sixteen that you’d give him one if he wanted you to.
“Oh, I was just curious about the whole process. I thought we’d end up in a shop instead of a basement though.”
“Yeah, I don’t actually have a license or anything. I started tattooing for fun and then people started asking me to give them one and offered to pay me. So now I run an underground shop from my cousin's basement. I’m not sure it’s entirely legal but I haven’t gotten in trouble yet.” As you speak you make your way over to your desk to find the notebook you drew the design in for Eddie. “Here Eds, what do you think?” You toss the notebook onto the bench in front of him while you start to get your ink and stuff ready.
Eddie’s eyes widen when he sees what you’ve drawn for him. In the notebook is a drawing of a coffin with details in the word to show it being worn down. You had designed him a tattoo of an actual corroded coffin in honor of his band.
“Y/n this is amazing! Dustin, come look at this.” You smile at his praise while grabbing the stencil of it you had printed out earlier in the day.
“Where do you want it?”
“My bicep, I was feeling like this arm was a little bare.” Eddie sits on the bench taking his jacket off and rolling the sleeve of his Metallica shirt up his shoulder. You nod, pulling up your chair and starting the process of getting his arm ready for you to start.
As you start to work on it you answer whatever questions Dustin has and tell him about how when you were younger you basically grew up in a tattoo shop due to your uncle owning one. The first tattoo you gave yourself was actually with a sewing needle and pen ink when you were about nine years old and it was a small heart that faded in a few months. Your mom had been horrified when she found you doing it and wanted to find you a different babysitter but your uncle convinced her he would talk to you about how bad that was. And he did but it was more about how you should’ve done it instead so it would be safer, he was proud of you for how well it had turned out. By the age of thirteen you had given him a few tattoos, he had offered himself up for you to practice on after you got used to practicing on fruit, and you had even designed some tats for his clients. By fifteen you were working at the shop as a receptionist and giving yourself some tats. You gave your first tattoo to someone else at seventeen after one of your friends started telling people you gave yours to yourself.
Eddie then chimed in to tell Dustin about how the two of you met when you were eighteen and he was nineteen after Rick told him not to go to some fancy tattoo artist who’s gonna cost a shit ton and instead set him up with you. You were getting ready to move into Rick's basement, since you had graduated and finally gotten a car, and were packing up your stuff when they showed up. Rick introduced the two of you and you let Eddie look through the photo album of your work while you made Rick help you pack the rest of your shit since he was there. Eddie picked bats to be his first tattoo and as soon as you had the basement set up you gave them to him. The two of you found things you had in common and the rest is history.
“Eddie’s been bothering me ever since. I’ve barely had a moment of peace, when he’s not busy with other plans he’s normally here. I have customers who’ve gotten used to him being around and when he’s not here they ask about him.”
“So when you’re not home and I can’t get a hold of you you’re here?”
“Yeah probably.” Eddie shrugs, turning his attention over to Dustin. “This is a good second place to look if you need me.”
“Oh by the way, Eds I might be out of town again next week.”
“What, why?” Dustin watches as the smile fades from Eddie’s face, something you don’t notice because you’re too focused on doing the tat.
“I wanna get butterflies on my collarbone and I can’t do them myself so I think I’ll have my uncle do them.”
“But you just got back from visiting him and your mom a few months ago. I’ve barely seen you since you got back because of having to clear my name and shit.”
“I have to have someone else do it Eddie, it’d be too awkward to do it myself and he’s the only other person I’d let do it.”
“What if you finally let me give you one?” You glance up at him for a second, it’s not too bad of an idea. And he’s been asking you about it for a while.
“I don’t know Eds.”
“I’ll design it and I’ll even give it to myself before giving it to you so you know that I know what I’m doing.” You stop tattooing him to wipe his skin down and when you glance at him there’s a sort of excitement behind his eyes that you have when you get really into a certain piece of work.
“Okay fine, but if you don’t know what you’re doing I’m leaving. Don’t you dare start fist pumping, I'm almost done with this.”
Eddie drew up a design for your tat that same night too excited to wait. The next couple of days you had him practice on fruit the same way you did before deciding he could finally do it on himself. Each time you asked him to see what he came up with he said it was a surprise. You weren’t nervous about it being bad, Eddie was a great artist and you’d be lucky to have his work on you, you’re just a curious creature by nature. Eddie even makes sure you’re working on someone elses tattoo when he starts doing it on himself to make sure you wouldn’t be able to sneak a peek at it.
When you do see it you’re speechless. On the inside of Eddie’s left arm are two twin butterflies with stars and sparkles around them.
“Do you like it?” He looks up at you as you keep staring at his arm, your hand holding onto his wrist to keep it out.
“It’s beautiful Eddie, of course I like it.”
“So did I do a good enough job that I can do it for you then?”
“Yeah, you did a great job Eddie. Do you wanna do it now or wait until tomorrow?”
“Now’s good for me if it’s good for you.” You just nod and lead the way over to the bench where you get the stuff ready for him and he prints out the stencil again.
You lay on the bench getting comfortable while he pulls your chair up to it and adjusts the height. Butterflies swarm in your stomach as he leans over you to clean the area and put the stencil right where you direct him to. The warmth of his hand as he presses it down seeps through the glove and into your skin.
You watch him closely as he works a smile on your face. His tongue is almost permanently out the whole time and he constantly asks you if he’s doing it right. You’re quick to tell him he’s doing a great job and he’s not pressing down too hard or too lightly.
The tattoo definitely takes longer than it would’ve if you did it or if you just had your uncle do it but you’re fine with it. It just means you get to keep Eddie this close to you longer and you’d never complain about that.
“Alright gorgeous you’re all done.” He says as he wipes the remaining ink off of your skin.
“Gorgeous? You don’t have to try flattering me Eds you’ll be getting a free tat for doing this for me.”
“Can’t a guy compliment a girl for no reason other than he wants to darlin’?” He leans back, putting the gun back on the small table and taking the gloves off before handing you the hand mirror to get a look at the fresh ink in your skin.
“This looks really good Eddie. I’m absolutely obsessed with it!” As Eddie watches you touch the skin around his work with that sense of wonder in your eyes makes something turn in his chest and he blurts his next words out.
“Go out with me.”
“What was that Eds?” He’s not sure if he should be happy or sad that you didn’t catch it.
“Nothing, it was nothing.”
“Did you just ask me to go out with you?” Eddie spins around in the chair acting like he was busy organizing your stuff. “Because the answer would be yes if you did.”
“It would?” Eddie straightens up at this news and looks over his shoulder at you. You’re looking at him with a big smile on your face.
“Of course it would.”
“Then yeah, I did just ask you that. That make you my girl now?”
“I guess it does.”
“Good, then check this out!” He excitedly gets out of the chair and hops up next to you on the bench where you had swung your legs over to sit more comfortably. He wraps his left arm around your shoulders with his arm staying out and turned so you can see the butterflies on the inside of it. “Watch the butterflies.” When he places his arm down his butterflies meet with your own. “Thank God I put them in the right spot. I was nervous they wouldn’t exactly meet.”
“Oh shut up, this is the sweetest thing!” Eddie can’t respond to that because you’re pulling him towards you by the neck of his shirt and crashing your lips onto his own as soon as you finish talking.
“Now come on, we gotta wrap these things up.”
