pairing: dad!nate x sls!reader

summary: in which nate gets invited to the triplets podcasts and gets asked about his relationship with sls and their little family.

warnings: swearing,mentions of pregnancy and labor,slightly suggestive.

SOOO MUCH DIALOUGE AAAAHHHH.

today the triplets had a long awaited special guest on their cut the cameras podcast which happened to be their bestfriend nate. they were super excited for him to be on the show as they were gonna ask him some questions about his relationship with their sister who so happened to be his girlfriend.

they started the podcast and did their intros. “alright nate so today we’re gonna be asking you some questions about your relationship with y/n.”nick said.

“everyone knows how nick met nate ain hockey but what they didnt know is that nate and y/n actually met first.”chris said and nate nodded.

“so how exactly did you meet our sister nate i want all the details.”nick chuckled and nate smiled as he started to remember the memory.

“well we met in the first grade with us being the same age we were always in the same classes together. y/n was swinging because we were at recess and i walked over to her and told her how pretty she was. she blushed so bad but it was cute and then she asked if ill be her bestfriend and we’ve been inseparable to this day.”nate said with a small smile.

“aw how cute” nick said smiling as matt spoke up.

“you’ve never really told us how you guys became a couple care to explain?”matt asked.

“well ill leave out some of the details because i know you guys don’t wanna hear that part”nate chuckled and looked at chris.

“if you didnt know already y/n and i have been inlove with eachother since we were kids but we had been afraid to tell eachother up until junior year of highschool.”nate said as he started to tell the real story.

“i took her to prom since her brothers had already graduated and they gave me the okay to of course.” he said as matt and chris nodded.

“i didnt give you the okay!” chris said. nick glared at him “CHRIS!” he said.

nate laughed. “anyway after prom, one thing led to another and im not gonna say much but we ended up in the backseat of my car and thats where we told eachother we loved eachother.”nate said.

nick gasped. “I KNEW THATS WHAT YOU TWO DID THAT NIGHT!”he said and matt laughed.

nate chuckled. “then we snuck off together one evening took her on a little date then asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes.” he smiled softly.

“i can’t believe we were oblivious to the fact you guys were dating for a whole seven months without us having a clue!” matt said.

“we actually found out because we caught nates car in a parking lot we went to film a car video in rocking back and forth and this dumbass accidentally turned the light on and matt drove by and we saw our sister right next to him.” chris spoke.

“alright lets talk about how y/n used to cheer for us when we played hockey and lacrosse.” nick said.

“she was such a cute little cheerleader loved her in that uniform” nate winked as her brothers rolled their eyes.

“but on a real note, she was my good luck charm just having her there cheering us on made every game so much better.” nate said.

“you guys are so cute it makes me sick.” matt chuckled.

the podcast went on and the boys all talked about memories with them growing up and some more about nates relationship with their sister.

“if you guys didn’t already know y/n and nate just recently had twins a few weeks ago.” nick started.

“chris over here still refuses to believe the fact that shes a mom and lives on her own with nate and their two sons.” matt said laughing as chris was rolling his eyes.

“i cant help it! in my eyes shes still my baby sister who was 4 years old asking us to play dolls with her.”chris pouted.

nick chuckled. “i know its crazy she’s a mom to her own kids now. speaking of that how did you guys find out she was pregnant?”nick asked.

“i knew beforehand because i took the pregnancy tests with her. i thought it had been suspicious with how she was constantly throwing up and she was having major mood swings” nick added.

“well she took the tests with nick but the next day i came into la she pulled me into her room and told me that she was pregnant.” nate said smiling at the precious memory.

“i remember how nervous she was to tell me i could see it and i just comforted her and told her it was all gonna be okay. now nine months later shes the best mom to our babies.” nate said happily.

“alright chris you may wanna plug your ears because of this next question.” nick said and chris gave him a weird look.

“nick what the fuck are you gonna ask”chris said as he looked over at matt who was laughing as he knew what the question was.

“do you happen to know how and when you concieved the twins?”nick said and chris looked at him with a disgusted look on his face.

“well it was definitely in the backseat of my car but i will not disclose any information on what was said or what position.” nate chuckled as they all laughed about it.

“cmon can we atleast know your favorite position you dont have to disclose that much about your sex life but atleast tell us your favorite postion cmon let things get a bit spicy”nick laughed as he looked at all the questions on his phone.

“okay i love doggy style,anywhere anyplace it doesn’t matter aslong as i have somewhere to bend her over its happenin.” nate said shrugging his shoulders.

matt was wide eyed and chris was not having any of this he was plugging his ears. nick was laughing about the information.

“you didnt have to go that far but okay nate get it” nick laughs

“how did you feel when you found out you were having twins?”matt asked and suddenly the door opened as y/n walked in carrying both leo and owen.

“oh hey y/n!”nick said as y/n sat down beside nate as he took leo from her arm.

“babies first podcast!” chris giggled as he looked at the little family.

“to answer your question matt, i was in shock and nervous about it. two babies at once seemed a little difficult but looking back on it now we definitely do a pretty good job with taking care of two babies at once. we have such a good support system.” nate said as he had little leo on his chest holding him close.

“ugh he looks so good holding our son.daddy as fuckk!” she said as chris came over grabbing owen from her arms rolling his eyes at his sisters words.

nick was laughing and matt had a look of disgust. y/n carefully handed owen over to chris.

“wanna hold my twin.” chris pouted as he sat back down in his chair carefully holding his nephew.

“nate you think they would care to watch the boys real quick so we can go make another baby?” she giggled.

“yeah nick would you mind holding leo real quick?” nate added to the joke pretending to hand the baby to him.

“YOU GUYS! we dont need another niece or nephew for a while” matt chuckled.

“yeah give me a niece while you’re at it.”nick also added onto the joke laughing at matt and nicks reactions.

“NO! i dont think owen or leo need a brother or sister just yet.” chris whispered shouted not wanting to disturb his sleeping nephew.

“we asked nate this question already but i have to know whats your favorite postion?” nick asked his sister as matt and chris were not having the sex talk.

“doggy is our go to but sometimes if we’re both feeling lazy we do cowgirl.” she said nate agreeing.

“NICK! why are we talking about our sisters sex life”chris said as owen started to cry.

“shhh buddy its okay. uncle chris has you.”he pats the babies back carefully kissing his forehead soothing him.

“hey matt wanna know a funny story about that flamingo on your mic?”nate said as his girlfriend looked at him giggling.

“im kind of scared to hear this story but sure go ahead and while you at it nate give my nephew.” matt said and nate handed him the baby.

matt held the baby on his chest just soaking in the moment with his little nephew. all three of the boys loved their nephews. even chris even though he still refused to believe his little sister is a mom to her own boys now.

chris and y/n have always been closer than her or matt or her and nick. its always been them two, he would always play with her growing up. if nick or matt was busy doing something he’d play with her and he used to let her do his makeup and nails for fun. he still lets her paint his nails.

“so flamingo is mine and y/n’s safe word when it comes to having sex.”nate said causually and matt threw the flamingo off of the mic.

“WHAT THE FUCK?”matt shouted.

“quit screaming you’re gonna wake the babies up and then you’re gonna deal with them!” nate told matt.

“whats the best sex you ever had”nick asked the couple and they both looked at eachother.

“definitely the night we conceived the twins.” she chuckled

“you mean the night we kicked chris out of the car while we were high”nate laughed as chris rolled his eyes.

“see i told you nick and matt that this would happen now look where that got them!”chris said.

“okay and you’re complaining!?! we got two cute little nephews out of it.”nick said as the girl laughed.

“and yea you’re gonna get another one in about nine more months” nate said with a small smirk on his face.

“no more babies til marriage!”chris said

nate and y/n looked at eachother and giggled.

“wanna go get married tonight?” nate asked her

she giggled and chris just shook his head.

the podcast went on for another 30 minutes as they talked more in depth about the girl’s pregnancy and how she didnt like nate half of her pregnancy.

“so what was your biggest craving during pregnancy?” nick asked his sister.

“uhm nate.” she giggled

“you hated him but still craved him at the same time???”matt asked.

“yeah something like that.” she laughed as she was now holding owen feeding him as nate fed leo.

“what can i say im hard to resist” nate chuckled as nate set the bottle down burping leo.

“how was the whole labor process? i remember y/n calling chris crying and he was so ready to come beat your ass nate”nick laughed and joked.

nate laughed. “yeah i almost had matt come bring me to beat you up”chris joked.

“well she cussed me out and hated me the whole time for putting her in this postion in the first place. but i understood because she literally was giving birth to twins.” nate said.

“she did such a good job though, i held her hand and she gave birth to leo first hes older then owen by 2 minutes.” nate said.

they wrapped the podcast up and nick decided to ask one more question just to mess with chris.

“so when are you going to propose?” nick asked

“you never know”nate said with a wink and chris just shook his head.

"will you give me a fucking second I'm doing my lipstick and then we can go alright-" I snapped back seeing her huff "thank you" I finished my make-up and got up from the desk, my jeans clung to my hips just covering my heals, my tube top strapping around me, hair ironed and make-up as perfect as I could get it I was ready "come then" I said thudding down the stairs hearing her follow closely behind "Bye dad- be back soon" I waved seeing him just blow a kiss

"come on we need to hurry-" she began as I started my engine "its on Burns street" I nodded pulling from the drive and making our way to the party, music blasted through the car and we sung along to every song we knew until we finally saw the house "fuck thats lot more than what Henry said their would be"

"no shit-" I parked up and locked the car, Lilly and I walked in smiling to people we knew and made a bee line for the make-shift bar

"Y/n! Lilly!" a voice shouted over the music that was booming everywhere, we looked to find Henry the man himself holding a bottle of vodka loosely between his fingers along with a cigaret that wasn't lit

"hey babe" Lilly smirked walking over and pressing kiss to his cheek "thanks for inviting us" he held her waist whispering something into her ear making me roll my eyes as I poured some liquid into my cup

"I'll let you guys do whatever this is and I'll find you later alright" the girl nodded but I knew she wasn't listening, she was always so all over Henry it was repulsive, I moved through the crowd until I saw a familiar face smiling to me "Kira!" I hugged her, Kira was a friend that I just loved being around, she was just pure but dirty all at the same time

"hey hun! where's little Lilly?" I pointed back to the bar and she nodded "shagging her playmate?"

"of course" we laughed hitting our cups and taking a swig "who are you here with?" I asked leaning closer so she could here me

"oh I came with ..oh Georg! Georg come here!" Georg and Kira were like brother and sister but just not related and had a lot of sexual tension.. so not really like brother and sister but you get the gist. I watched was the long haired boy wondered over winking at a few girls until he reached us

"hey y/n" I smiled "looking good" he was always a flirt "anyway wanna come play a game of beer pong? we need two players" I looked to the girl who nodded grabbing my arm and dragging me as we followed Georg through a sea of sweaty teenagers, people shoved and yelled as we walked past and all I did was spit curses at them until we made it to the kitchen where the island had been made into a ping pong table, I saw Georg fist bump a boy and my eyes met with his

"fuck" I spoke seeing Tom- he was different now though, hair In long, black braids, bandana around his head and a huge coat covering his body

"oh- I forgot to mention he's with us" I fluttered my eyes agreeing to her words finishing my drink and putting the empty cup to the side "okay who's starting"

"ladies first" his voice hit my stomach, it shouldn't have had made me feel so uneasy, Kira grabbed the ball and went to throw "and and also you have to do a dare for every cup the other team make" of course, Tom couldn't play any game without some sort of consequence

"fine" she through the ball and it missed the table "shit" I laughed as she stomped her foot on the ground, Georg picked it up and through it straight into our cup "you're joking- whats the dare?" the boys looked to each other and whispered a few words before agreeing

"drink the cup at the same time" me and Kira rolled our eyes grabbing the cup and putting it between our mouths, beer spilled down our chins, rolling down our chests "nice view" we pulled the cup away and Kira chucked it at the boy

"perv" it was my turn, I lifted the ball and moved to the middle of the island, lining my hand up and with a small count down it landed in the centre cup "Yes Y/n!" Tom took it out looking to me waiting for me to speak

"take off that god awful coat Tom- and Georg you can drink" Tom huffed slipping his coat off revealing his toned arms against his black shirt and Georg didn't hesitate to drink. The game carried on until we both only had 3 cups to go, me and Kira were now stood in our bra's and I had Tom's bandana around my thigh, the boys however had no shoes on, Georg's hair was tied in a bun and Tom was having to have a bow in the end of his braid, I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Lilly looking sweatier than before and lips redder "hey!"

"ohh beer pong!" she cheered

"were doing it with dares, wanna do the dare if Tom makes this shot, she hummed standing between our sides with a face that screamed she'd just been fucked somewhere in the house, Tom flung the ball and it landed in our middle cup

"woo!" he clapped watching as I took the cup to my lips, chugging the beer until it was empty "whats their dare?"

"erm... ah- Y/n French with Tom for...3 minuets!" my stomach dropped, head snapping to her "come on!" I looked back over the table waiting for Tom to interject but he wasn't there

"wha-" I felt hands go under my thighs and lift me onto the island, I looked down to see Tom stood between my legs looking up to me "are you crazy?"

"sure... come on you lost and the dare is you've gotta kiss me, not me kiss you" I sighed thinking through ever decision I ever made, that being becoming friends with Lilly and agreeing to come to this party

"come on Y/n you've got this!" Kira called standing next the Georg who came to watch "at least its your ex not a total stranger!"

"oh yeah because that makes anything better!- fucks sake" my hands came to cup his jaw and I leant down "we never speak of this again alright?"

"just get it over and done with sweetheart- it's only me" he smirked and before I could even looked at his shit eating face anymore I pressed my lips against his and everything came flooding back- every kiss, hug, every time he held me, every time I slept between his arms, I felt locked and I never wanted to let go Tom's arms curled around my stomach pulling me closer, I finally let myself relax into him, hugging his neck. I felt him smile as he took a breather before diving back in again and I couldn't help but smile back, it felt.. nice being so close to him again

"Time!" Lilly called hitting my leg but I didn't let go, and nor did Tom "hello! guys you can stop now"

"I think they may need to have a few moments" I herd Kira laugh and she was right- I'd missed Tom so much, everyday I'd look back on all our photo's, the videos, the times I went to his concerts, when he came to the airport to pick me up after not seeing him for weeks, I missed him too much. The group had walked away leaving me and Tom still intertwined with each other the kiss came to a natural end, our foreheads knocked together while we both panted for air

"I- I love you" Tom spoke through breaths making my heart flutter "we shouldn't have broke up, it was so stupid- I need you in my life Y/n" I couldn't speak, words wouldn't form and my head was cloudy of his voice saying he loved me "nobody has ever compared to you, and they never will"

"I love you too" with the mix of alcohol and adrenaline my whole world seemed to brighten when Tom smiled, not one of his side smiles or smirks, his real smile "kiss me again" his hand held my jaw loosely as he leant up to kiss me again, our lips fit like puzzle pieces, it all felt so right

"come here" his voice was breathy as he lifted me off the counter and to the floor, I forget sometimes how tall he is- he was towering over me, I craned my head up to meet his again, before I could reach he pulled off a little, his big brown eyes looked into mine before he spoke again "be mine again?....please"

"of course" I wrapped my hands around his back and slid my hands into his pockets dragging his body closer to mine, our faces met and a soon as they did our lips were attached again... maybe this party wasn't so bad after all

Why is the art so unappealing in lore Olympus now Persephone looks like a highlighter and maybe it’s just me but the proportions like the fingers in arms are soul over the place I don’t think they used to be this bad. Am I just looking at it with nostalgia or am I crazy ?

Honestly, nostalgia does play a huge part in it, even to this day there are times I look back on old S1 panels and go-

Actually here's a great example that literally just happened yesterday in the ULO Discord that nearly had me on the floor LOL This is from Episode 70:

Like I didn't even believe that that was real until I was told what episode it was from and I was just. Astounded and flabbergasted. The over-shading of the blanket that just makes it look like a really bad edit. Insane.

And yeah, there are a lot of old panels that hit different now that the rose-colored glasses have been removed, crushed, and thrown into the trash compactor.

I think that's why it makes it all the more amusing when people come into my inbox and ask me "wait, why did you like LO to begin with?? It's always been ugly as shit, I think you're just romanticizing it" because like... there's something to be said about art and subjectivity, even if something is ugly to one person doesn't mean it isn't beautiful to someone else. It's why I try not to be too mean towards the fans of this comic for still enjoying it, because while I definitely have strong opinions about how "LO has gotten worse" and what kind of following Rachel has cultivated (cough cough), there are also just as equally valid arguments that LO has never begin good to begin with that I can't necessarily disagree with now that I'm looking back on it with a more critical eye.

That said, there's tons of media that I enjoy that is objectively awful. Like y'all, you don't need to take my opinions about a dumb pink x blue fantasy romance comic seriously, I like Starfox Adventures-

Like yeah it's a badly made rushed piece of shit that was developed right on the ass end of Rare's glory days and was really an original IP (Dinosaur Planet) that got Frankenstein'd into a Starfox game so it could "sell better" for Nintendo, but I don't give a fuck, I love Starfox Adventures and some day I wanna be in the top 10 speedrunner leaderboards for it, which I know doesn't mean much because no one is speedrunning Starfox, but I do and no one can take that away from me dammit-

Anyways. Lore Olympus has, in many regards, always had "bad art". But "bad art" can and should still be enjoyed by those who find joy in it.

And in LO's case, the world it existed in when it launched was a lot smaller than it is now - more specifically, the world of Webtoons. We can look back and see how 'bad' LO looks and reads now because there are genuinely way better comics surrounding it. It was unique and refreshing and experimental back then... now it's just "that stupid blue and pink comic for horny teenagers".

In most cases I would consider that "cringing in hindsight" feeling a good thing because normally it means something has grown and that it seeming "bad" in hindsight would mean that it's outgrown itself and moved onto bigger things. But LO has the more unique problem of "its current stuff is shit and it's making us want the old stuff more, even if the old stuff wasn't good either". In that regard, LO is closer to being like Harry Potter. Remember when The Cursed Child came out at the height of Rowling being exposed for being a TERF and even people who liked Harry Potter didn't like The Cursed Child because it was just objectively worse overall (with or without Rowling's bullshit attached)? It made a lot of people go back and re-read / rewatch Harry Potter with a more objective lens and go "wait a minute guys, I think we only adored these books so much because we were 12 when we read them". Often times it's the good memories we have surrounding certain things that make us have the opinion about them that we do.

Of course, LO is definitely not as politically weaponized as Harry Potter is, so that's where that comparison ends. But my point is that LO is definitely in a situation where it's been riding off the same privileges it had back in 2018 - having an 'experimental' art style while also utilizing tropes and characters that were VERY popular at the time (remember that 2017-18 was when Tumblr was at its height of H x P "Hades was a chill accountant guy who wore socks and sandals and didn't cheat on his wife like Zeus did" fantasizing) - and thinks that those same tricks and tropes will still work today.

Because of this, the art in LO really, really hasn't aged well, even the stuff that we look back on fondly. But I think it's the panels that we specifically think of when remembering "old LO" - the ones that stuck in our memories the most - that are the ones that make us miss or just not care about the panels that don't look good (the panels that make people question why we ever liked it to begin with).

We liked it because of how it made us feel to look at panels like these-

Those genuinely wonderful panels that we think back on the most don't exist separately from the bad panels, they exist in spite of them. Even if we can look back on panels like these and pick out problems in the lineart or the proportions or the color travelling outside of the lines, that can't and shouldn't change how those panels made us feel at some point or another. And that's why when people ask me "why were you even into LO in the first place" I don't have any one answer, because I can't fully explain how something made me feel to justify why it's good to someone who can see from the outside - without rose-colored glasses - that it evidently isn't. It's very much a "you had to be there" type of thing.

Unfortunately, nowadays even the 'best' LO panels in S3 still don't come close to what the S1 panels accomplished - because for many of us, the rose-colored glasses are gone, we can't appreciate the good among the bad because we know now how bad it truly is and so the good just feels like wasted attempts at trying to recreate something it can no longer be. It "came back wrong" so to speak.

LO came back just regular. But our journey to resurrecting it changed us to such a degree that even its closest intimacies are now foreign to us. Sorry dude.

This is still probably one of my favorite panels out of the entirety of S3 for being as close to "old LO" as I've seen since S2, and even it feels like a mistake, an accident, how could a panel like this exist in S3 when so much of it is a dumpster fire? It's like a flower growing in the ruins of an apocalyptic wasteland.

But wasn't that always the case? Isn't that 'always' what LO has been, since the very beginning? A poorly cobbled together mess of writing and panels that, every now and then, manages to leave an impression that makes you feel something? Did we ever truly know LO? Or have we just been relying entirely on an idea of it that we've built up in our heads that when it does do exactly what it's evidently always done (even if not made apparent until looking back on it in hindsight) we think it "came back wrong"?

I have seen several posts about your dislike for D&D and I wanna know if it's the same for Pathfinder? I love pathfinder but in my eyes it's just a crunchier D&D. (Though admittedly the "canon" worlds for Pathfinder are far more interesting to me)

Obviously that's a very baseline view of the two but I wondered if it's possible to like one and not the other due to their similarities.

P.S. I hope you've had a good week!

Truth be told, I don't dislike D&D! I dislike people treating it as a universal game when it's a very specific type of game! Note: what that specific type of game is also depends heavily on edition! But regardless, D&D will end up sucking big time if you don't play to its strengths!

Now, my opinion on Pathfinder is basically that Pathfinder 1e leaned in on some of the worst designs of D&D 3.5 (a quirky game that still had a lot to love about it): towards the tail end of D&D 3.5 its designers were at the same time getting really nutty with the design and coming up with some really inventive designs (Binders, Tome of Battle, a lot of individual systems in Complete Champion and Complete Scoundrel) but at the same time they were running out of ideas and they came up with the Worst Type of Feats: feats that made a thing that anyone could theoretically do into a thing now gated behind a feat. Player's Handbook 2 for D&D 3.5 had a few of these.

And Pathfinder 1e for some reason decided to really lean in on this type of feat. I will never shut up about the feat that allows gnomes to request their captors to loosen their shackles.

Now Pathfinder 2e is a much better game in my opinion because it seems to have largely rejected that type of design and focused on being a really crunchy D&D clone. It feels like a better successor to D&D 3.5's design ethos instead of Pathfinder 1e, that was ultimately a collection of D&D 3.5 house rules (some of which imo made the game worse than D&D 3.5!) coupled with following some of the worst design trends of D&D 3.5.

Also I refuse to ever shut up about Pathfinder 1e literally having feats that didn't do anything like Monkey Lunge and Prone Shooter. But anyway Pathfinder 2e actually looks like a fun albeit crunchy game instead of just being D&D 3.5 but somehow blander and with worse rules-writing. (now of course D&D 3.5 also kind of sucked in its own ways, but it kind of sucked in a "hey these example characters don't actually qualify for the Prestige Class they're supposed to be representing" type of way instead of a "our FAQ accidentally made it so you could qualify for the Eldritch Knight Prestige Class simply by virtue of being a Tiefling" type of way)

Or the OPPOSITE?? Its 40°C (104°F) and she's out there gardening and Mario is cooped up inside just miserable <XD

Hey, Dad, since we on topic of Mascot Horror media, what's your opinions on some of those?

In general? I think mascot horror is great, and as much as I think people are kinda getting over it, I still find it enjoyable. In terms of specific ones... (I'm gonna list a lot so be ready to read a ramble.

Shipwrecked 64 is amazing from what I've seen. It's pretty... dark a gruesome, but the story is very compelling and I've been watching GTLive play through it and it's been really fun. First mascot horror to scare me in a hot minute.

Güby is a more recent one. Not a game, but like one of those mock-kids shows that features a cartoony/puppet protagonist. Gets to the spooks pretty quick but I love Güby's design and I'd say it's pretty unique. It's on YouTube if you wanna check it out.

BeeVeeKee's "Not Your Normal Kids Show" is also a good non-game mascot horror. They're mainly on TikTok but the series is on YouTube in a playlist and I recommend it.

Poppy Playtime is getting more interesting as time goes. The Cat Nap short was really cool and I'm still excited for the new chapter.

Garten of Banban is... something. I'll be real I have no clue what's happening in these games, I mainly use gameplay of them for background noise, but apparently they have been getting better so cudos to the developers of that game.

Hello Neighbour fucking sucks. It started out good and then it was like watching a train crash.

Speaking of trains, Choo Choo Charles is hilarious and amazing and I love him and I love Pickles. Like. SO much. She's best girl.

Amanda the Adventurer is amazing and I need to consume so much more content of that game. Also Wooly might be evil, but he's just a Little Guy so its okay. Him and Amanda are great I love them.

Slender is a classic Mascot Horror before FNAF. Maybe not scary by today's standards, but goddamn that scared the shit out of me at 7 years old.

Mr. TomatoS and Mrs. LemonS are interesting ones, weirdly full of lore complete with extra files and talking to each other and such.

DUCK SEAONS! Duck Season was a FANTASTIC game! A games based of Duck Hunt where the Dog tries to kill you and also might be your dad? FUCKING. BEAUTIFUL!

MASSIVE TOTK STORY SPOILERS

Made some quickly colored sketches based on my thoughts and playthrough of totk now that I've reached the end of the main story (in 65 hours over 10 days...)

Explaining in order of appearance and also delivering thoughts opinions and spoilers on most things:

So since Sonia gets got and Rauru self sacrifices, and also Zelda shares a blood connection with them, they had to have had kids by the time Zelda got there. And I imagine she spent alot of time with them, since so much happens in those memories, so I like to think the kids and her got along. And I also image that these kids gotta look wild based on being half Zonia half Hylian. Wild looking halfling children left orphaned by Ganondorf.

Zelda gets saved from dragon form at the end, hoorah, however I think she should have kept some of the more dragon like features. I swear I'm not a furry but I just really like funky character designs. Something something how its become part of her something something I need lore videos on it immediately. Also a little Link mashup outfit (my favorite so far, pairing a horn with normal clothing)

So the sage avatars are like physical beings, hence why enemies can shoot at them and why they vanish when in villages in order to not scare people ig. Which to me implies that when you complete a sage dungeon with other sage avatars out, that actual sage can see them. While this has plentiful comedic potential, I do think Riju would be the only one to actually question it though. Also, I call the avatars "my shadow clone goons" or just goons for short, since they do like all my fighting for me. I sit back and block and they do all the work. Extra shout out to Tulin, I think he's killed more dungeon bosses than I have. I didn't wanna spoil Mineru to people so I just collectively call them my Goon Squad.

I thought it was really sweet how Zelda seems to have gotten a chance at having caring parental figures in Sonia and Rauru. I also think it's funny that the closest equivalent that I think Link has is in Purah. Who, when I got all the memories (and thus knew of the imposter and the fate of Zelda) and got the master sword, Link just straight up didn't share any of this until AFTER he got Mineru. Like. Buddy. All these people are worried about Zelda but you SAW THE MEMORY of Ganondorf using a puppet Zelda, and the memory of Zelda becoming a dragon. Like. He just chooses to keep those to himself until someone else brings it up. Straight up iconic. You keep all your secrets to yourself, little man. But it's funny how Purah literally had a line like "You knew all of this?! When were you gonna tell me?!" Lol

I have a lot of thoughts on this game, both good and bad, about the story, lore, mechanics, ect that I may make a post about eventually. However I do know that I'll probably make art of like every single new character eventually bc I dearly love them all (I especially think Yona has a cute design)! Anyways slay fun game I love it I shall continue to play 9/10

what is dave the diver like? ive seen it a lot but nobody talked abt like. gameplay. is it good?? i think i might get it later this month

gameplay for dave the diver involves diving down to collect sea creatures for 2 rounds, this is how time progresses in the game. You are able to upgrade several of your items in order to be able to dive deeper, breathe for longer, do more damage, carry more items with you, which also progresses the Plot.

at night you work at the sushi restaurant that makes food out of the fish you bring in, and this part of the game involves selecting a menu, serving drinks, serving the food, refilling ingredients (but it is Not stressful as you very quickly unlock multiple staff members that do this all for you, since you, as Dave, have a really slow walking speed. you very quickly get to a point where u just supervise restocking the menu and such)

I think it is good ^_^ i am a person who doesnt like management games, and the restaurant part doesnt feel like that at all. (if your staff doesnt get the order out to someone in time, all that happens is you dont get the money that person wouldve paid). I really feared it would be That kind of restaurant gameplay.

There are people who complain that there are too many quests and tasks (this is a game where you have a Phone with Apps on it, related to the game after all), but every mechanic that is introduced is not done in a stressful way, is usually tied to the plot and you are given a good example of how to use it, and many things are optional, or easy to balance since the game time only progresses when you dive!

If I had known some of the stuff/eventual mechanics beforehand, I would have felt very overwhelmed! But I think the game introduces em in a good + relevant way as u progress the plot! ykwim?

I usually HATE when games are Lots of Tasks but here its like well, I need something to do while diving anyway! Maybe doing this thing will earn me more money, or a charm that buffs my harpoon gun, or reward me with an ingredient for the sushi place, or cat food to feed the cat with. Very few things are Timed (like Parties where getting certain fish will have people paying more, or having a VIP visitor you need to make a specific dish for) and the game goes at the pace of your diving expeditions, which can last as long or as short as you want, (U can find oxygen capsules underwater!), so I also dont feel Rushed. You can do all the little quests before proceeding with plot progressing main quest, you can ignore little quests, do them later etc.

Im not very good at video james, and I get stressed out by them easily, and this game has been really fun for me and not super stressful....! I don't think it's high stakes at all.... It is also very Cute moments and pretty and the music is nice. And I love Dave he is a good guy and so cute also. ...

Jerma plays a very very small amount of it which was enough to hook me (and it only gets better and more interesting from there) if u Do wanna get an idea of core mechanics without further spoilering... I also got it on sale in case I did not like it ^_^

also it OF COURSE still has its flaws, from plot to writing to mechanics, but I like it a lot! i am haveing fun

hiii! just want to say how happy I was to find your page. it seems like everywhere on the internet (except tumblr- but even then I've seen some hate) DESPISES yakuza 3.. like they won't even acknowledge the good the game has. is it the best? no! but they would sooner brush off the plot the game set up and the amazing characters to say it's ass and looks bad, just say ur going through a quality drop from yakuza kiwami 2. yakuza 3 brought us MORNING GLORY. THE PLACE THAT IS KIRYUS MAIN MOTIVE?? like it's the whole reason kiryu went into hiding.. it set up the future games. (also humanized him soo much but that's a topic for another day) THEN I CAME ACROSS THIS PAGE! your love for this game clearly shows through your introspective art and beautiful ask blog! I spent ab a whole night going through ur page gushing bc 'omg someone who writes mine and daigo correctly! and doesnt make mine's ONLY character trait about being obsessed with daigo!!' keep up the amazing work!! Thank you so much for sendin in your ask! I'm really glad you've enjoyed the stuff I've been throwing up on the internet about my favorite little guys.

And yeah, for a good while in most fan spaces people had a pretty big dislike for Y3, and I think a lot of it just comes down to fandom bandwagoning dissuading people from playing it or giving it much of a chance. Right now actually I've seen somewhat of a shift in some spaces where suddenly 3 is underrated and people are apparently (?) dogging on 2 where it used to be considered peak. It's all cyclical really, but I'm glad when 3 gets the attention I feel it deserves.

I do understand where people's dislike comes from honestly, but it is definitely my personal favorite! For all its faults, I think it has some of the strongest character moments of the games, personal stakes, and drama, with stellar animation that more than makes up for the older graphics that might put some people off. And of course, Mine lmao. I can't say how right I am in how I characterize Mine and Daigo since I'm sure I fall pretty short of even my own standards of how I see them (and am guilty of simplifying them because its funny lm ao), but I'm happy folks like my take on the guys! I have A LOT OF THOUGHTS on these dudes (obviously) which I'd love to write up sometime. I have an ask about my Minedai HCs where I will probably dump it, but that and a lot of asks have been put on the backburner until I get the time to address them all to the extent I want to.

If you wanna look at my non-yakuza stuff, I have a main which I basically do not use; but it does exist!

I just wanna say that it's accounts like yours that make me really appreciate Proseka. I've been into the game for 3 years now and played it since it's Beta pre-release. I know it's not a perfect franchise but I've enjoyed it a ton these past 3 years! Janks and all! I love engaging with the story and immersing myself with facts and interactions of the whole cast. I love digging deeper on the lore and coming up with theories. I love laughing about all the hiccups in-game or how bad the tuning of the virtual singers could get along with the timeline and plot inconsistencies, while I sometimes joke "This game sucks LOL!" I say it with fondness. I'm glad there's accounts like yours that provide a lot of insights and resources on the franchise so other fans can hopefully understand the characters more and know about other things such as behind the scenes development, which is also fascinating!

Also it breaks my heart sometimes knowing it has the reputation it gets due to the toxic fanbase. I know in reality, the toxicity is just a really loud minority but it still permanently damages everyone's perception on the community but I guess a fan community, big or small, is not without it's bad apples.

I’m glad you enjoy the blog! The main idea behind it was to try and clear up misinfo (you know how the fandom is) and just to have fun and tell people cool stuff about the game so I’m glad it’s serving its purpose. Yeah it’s a shame the fanbase is how it is but I just want to try and be more of a positive person in it, even if I’m just one person haha.

He admires how you can find good in everyone and everything. He usually looks at faults first, making his vision sometimes a bit limited when it comes to character. Because of this, he's happy to have you around

Might treat you like his therapist because he needs you to be happy haha but nonetheless he's super grateful to have you as his s/o

Leona

Might feel that you're a bit annoying because of your optimistic personality but don't be fooled - he really finds you adorable

He likes to hear you talk about anything because its just nice to see you so passionate about different topics. Will casually say "go on" when you ask if you're talking too much

Might be a bit protective of you because of your lack of magic. He doesn't want any Savanaclaw students picking on you so he might wrap an arm around you when walking by some of the more reckless ones

You guys are like two suns jumping around at once. Jamil loves and hates it

The two of you definitely make NRC a better place with your enthusiasm and your optimism. You find a way to solve any problem because of your wittiness

Kalim definitely takes you on carpet rides that are more extreme than Jamil wants, but speaking of Jamil he likes you too because you're just really nice to talk to

Kalim and you are really similar and overall just a really cute pair

Imagine if Isabela Madrigal was a person in the TWST world. Ta da, here he is!

He may find your more down-to-earth approaches to things and your optimism to be a bit strange. You're too naive in his eyes, but that's why he gets protective

Vil wants you to know that magic or no magic, you are perfect in his eyes. He will try to help you out whenever magic is needed in your tasks but nonetheless know that he loves you for who you are

Admires your positivity and will respect you for this. He may soften up a bit on Epel too because of you haha

Idia

At first you scared him. You were way too outgoing for his comfort. But he soon realized that you were more than just an extroverted person, you literally gave him energy

He wonders how you can function without any magic but that's probably why he admires you too. NRC is a bit rough, but know that you won't have to worry about anything around him

Will ask you to play video games with him and honestly it might be really fun!

People start noticing that Idia smiles more often, and a lot of people correlate this with you. Idia does feel much better with you around!

Malleus

He was born using magic, so this is surprising to him. He wants to learn how to do certain tasks without any magic because honestly he just likes learning new things!

Malleus definitely gets protective, though you won't really notice it. If anyone is out there trying to harass you for not having magic at NRC, you might not hear anything from Malleus but when you are looking away he'll give that person the scariest look and omg who would dare anger the fae prince :/

He likes to hear whatever you want to talk about too! Will go on walks with you but just listen. To him, he could spend days just listening to your voice

Know that even though fae are heavy magic users, Malleus does not care too much about your skills in magic. He loves you for who you are

Bonus: Rollo

Omg you don't use magic?! Is this an angel sent from heaven like :0

He might find your extroverted personality a tad bit tiresome at first, but he finds himself being drawn to you. He won't tell you this directly, but you will find him lingering around you more often as time goes by

He's also really protective. He likes that you don't use magic and if anyone tries to harass you about it they'll have to face his wrath :/

Though you two might seem like polar opposites, maybe that's why you guys attracted each other. He definitely needs a bit more brightness in his life haha
