this sentence has so effortlessely wracked acheing grief throughout my body, breaking my ribs causing their sharp points to poke and prod 'round my insides causing queasiness to fester inside my stomach.

this sentence is so similar, whether intentional or not, to the quote: "don't bite the hand that feeds you", except in this case it's Jean considering biting a helping hand; however Jean would not consider biting (fighting back) a fist hurtling his way to inflict pain, he would sooner (resignedly) accept a fist than an outstretched palm because it is so otherwordly to him. He joined the Ravens at 14 (correct me if im wrong!) and has since then only known bruises and cracked ribs and shins and ankles but has never known a hug, a high-five, he doesn't even remember what his life was like before 14.

i just had to rant about this sentence because it truly broke me excuse me, *imagine me rocking back and forth in an unsteady medium rhythm in the middle of a barren-white-walled room with a singular window that's left ajar to allow the cool summer breeze to play about the room, swirling around the sheer white floor-length curtains that frame the window.
