DrStrangetober Day 4 First Meeting / Marvellous Melvyn
At first, I really didn't like this variant of Doctor Strange. He has a silly smile, as well as his facial expression, although it is clear that this is only part of the job. We are used to seeing this character as a hero, selfish and very proud, even in his worst days, his sense of self-respect, dignity only receded, but did not dissolve completely. The work of a street magician means that he literally has to fool around every day to make people laugh at him and do all sorts of tricks to make them throw some coins into his hat.
Аnd then I heard his silent request "Try me Beyonce" and decided to draw their possible meeting with Сhristine.
Could he simply suppress his pride or did it torment him after work? Аll Stephen Stranges have a good sense of humor, so this variant just allowed himself to joke more often. He subconsciously dreamed of magic all his life, although he knew that in his world there was only a parody of it and still made magic a part of his life. And who but us, all those who at least once dreamed of being a sorcerer, can know how sad it is that it's impossible.
He had to see dreams. Dreams where he flies, and the red cloak behind him flutters in the wind. Dreams in which his magical boots lift him up so high in a jump that he almost flies, and his tail hits his neck when he turns around to hit the monster with his amazing real magic. Nightmares, where two worlds fall on each other because of his fault, and his forces, so incredibly huge, can neither stop it, nor save his beloved woman, who for some reason exists in both universes at once. Or that nightmare where his friends kill him, although he has done nothing wrong, and he feels how atoms are separated from his body and wakes up, breathing heavily and with a pounding heart.
Yes, it is difficult to be Stephen Strange without magic, neither a sorcerer nor a doctor, but only a street magician full of tricks.
It was his egoism and pride that prevented him from being with Christine. This time everything should definitely be different, and perhaps this time the watch on his hand is not just a memory of the lost, but a gift from his beloved wife. While I was drawing, I came up with a story about them, quite detailed, and I hope to draw it one day.
I will continue working on this art later, add some shadows, color it (correct mistakes🙄), and I would be interested to know your thoughts of this version of Stephen Strange.

Okay okay okay call me insane, but (SPOILER WARNING maybe - or definitely maybe)
Doesn't the entire "Spider Ppl society that protects the multiverse from anomalies and protects canon events" sound odly familiar?
Don't we have the exact same thing (minus all the members being variants of same person) somewhere else? Don't they protect the timeline from Nexus Events?
Listen, am I tripping or is the TVA rather similar to Spider Ppl society? Maybe Miguel doesn't reset or prune variants (well in the TVA sense, but whatever) , but the similarities are there.
And yeah, Spiderman across the Spiderverse isn't quite part of the MCU, but it's highly hinted that it shares the universe with the MCU (you know? That one Prowler and the "doctor Strange and nerdy kid" line).
All I'm saying is:
Both TVA and Spider People Society (and yeah I know I'm probably calling it wrong but idc) protect the course of action (story) at all costs
They both "eliminate" Nexus Events/Anomalies
Both are faced with someone who posses as a threat to the timeline/multiverse and the respective organisation (TVA - Sylvie and Loki; Spiders (I give up) - Miles and the "Miles protection squad")
Both have members that join the "rouge variants" ( gonna focus on two most obvious from each; TVA - Mobius and B-15 ; Spiders - Peter B and Gwen)
Even though the stories have their differences, both groups/organisations fear the tiniest changes in the multiverse under the pretext of it ending the timeline/universe (not sure how accurate is this theory, but I found one claiming that Peter B having Mayday was an anomaly and it didn't end his universe) (also when it comes to TVA the problem was actually centered around Kang, but that later)
Now I'm just pointing out similarities and plz don't hate me for that.
I think that this could also potentially be a connection between the Spiderverse movies and MCU. There's also one more similarity between Loki series and Spiderman into the Spiderverse.
In the first Spiderverse movies we learn that if a variant comes to a universe they are not supposed to in they glitch. This happens to Loki after the final of s1 doesn't it?
It's seems like while TVA is oriented around a single timeline Miguel's group (this migh be the best way of putting it) is more focused on the multiverse as a whole.
TVA hunts variants that do not follow their roles in the timeline (look at all the different Lokis) while Miguel and his group make sure canon events happen across the multiverse.
These are just my random thoughts after watching the Loki series and Spiderman across the Spiderverse - might delete later.
Plz don't hate

hey! just wanted to let you know that someone reposted your Doctor Strange variants art, in Benedict´s tag.
Your art is gorgeous btw.
Hi anon ^^
Thank you so much for letting me know and for taking the time to write me this message it's very kind of you ♥
I found the post, let a message asking for the drawings to be taken down and that the person would reblog instead of repost and...it went just fine! 😁👍 The post (with only 3 likes) was deleted and the reposter immediately reblogged from the source.
I guess they took the art from Instgram and reposted it from there.
Anyway, it went smoothly, I wish it always worked that way. 😝
Tumblr media
(I watched the making off and there's a "hand choreographer" who takes care of all Cumberbatch's hand movements and positions. I find it crazy and fascinating)
Thanks again and have a great day ♥

Some thoughts after watching Walking Dead 11x20
Putting all of this under a cut because SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Okay, so I figured Lance was probably going to die in 11c and I knew his time was probably running out…but I still thought he might have kind of a better death?? Like yeah I know a lot of this is really coming from me just wanting to keep seeing more of Josh’s acting because he’s just been so damn good this season, but how Lance died just seemed out of character and weird? Carol literally called Lance a smart guy moments before she shot him and he WAS smart, so him going for the gun just seemed strange. I know he realized his talking wasn’t going to save him but like, you’ve got your back to two people who have weapons trained on you, and you decide to go for a machine gun and try to get the safety off and chamber a round before you get shot? IDK…it just seems OOC that a smart guy like Lance would think he had any shot at all (pun intended) in a situation like that. I get maybe the writers were trying to make Carol and Daryl seem like decent people by not just outright executing Lance, but the way he died just seemed like a stupid way to go for a guy who had been very cunning and smart previously. I guess maybe desperation makes people do stupid things?? I did at least think we’d get the CRM drop from him though before he died, which would have made sense for his character to have an alliance with CRM (I assumed, as many others did, that his line “certain alliances will suffer” in the last episode was a CRM reference) and would have easily made it possible for a Rick reveal if the writers wanted to go that direction.
Anyway, that brings me to my next point, which is that I also think it’s curious that Carol shot Lance in the neck and we get that last shot of him bleeding out. I saw someone say online that they thought since Yumiko’s brother is a throat doctor then Lance could potentially be saved, but with him far from the Commonwealth and as isolated as he is, I doubt he could be transported back in time (especially since he was coughing up blood within moments of being shot). That being said, I think it’s VERY interesting that Carol doesn’t shoot Lance in the head, and we specifically don’t see either Daryl or Carol stab Lance so he doesn’t turn. Why am I harping on this point so much? Well, because of this photo:
Tumblr media
This photo was posted on Twitter several months ago and then almost immediately deleted afterwards (and is now impossible to find on there now, at least by me), which makes me think that it was a spoiler. When I first saw the photo I personally didn’t think it was Josh, I thought it was just a really good cosplay, but with how quickly it was deleted (and now that we’ve seen Lance’s death), it makes me think that we might be getting Walker!Lance either as an OG walker or potentially as a variant, which could make things interesting for our main characters and could factor into how someone dies later in the season. I personally think it would be absolutely hysterical if Walker!Lance could come back and bite Pamela and that could destroy the Commonwealth. I don’t think it would happen before we lose some main characters because I feel like Pamela is the main villain now and she could be responsible for some deaths at her hands, but Walker!Lance finally getting a taste of Pamela?? Incredible….especially after I feel like Lance always wanted a “taste” of Pamela in life 👀😏
Additionally, I have to say, as devastated as I was to see Lance finally go, I am SO HAPPY to see that there is such a wave of unanimous appreciation for Josh Hamilton and what he brought to the role among those who have seen the new episode. I’ve seen a ton of people wishing Lance would have lived longer just so we could have seen more of Josh acting, which really speaks to what all he brought to the character. I also think it could be really interesting if we could get a potential Tales episode down the line about Lance, it seems like a lot of people are interested in the weird dynamic between him and Pamela and want to see what Lance was like pre-apocalypse.
Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts about 11x20 and wants to talk, my inbox and messenger is open and I’d love to chat! You can also drop a reply to this post and I’ll see it. Thanks for reading if you made it this far 😂

Someone published a polling which already has very strange but not surprising results.
Tumblr media
Yes, maybe there are still some who don't undertand what does this abbreviation stand for, so here's the definition from Urban Dictionary:
Tumblr media
I was always shocked how many people think the second variant could be true. My, this mr Omega build said himself that he is not the one who has the control, he's only THE MOST SELFISH, so no other segment would do such (stupid) thing as deletion all other segments aka his work of dozens of years because one little Rilukkhadevata segment-girl demanded that.
(There was a time I thought that DottoreMains subreddit is a comfortable place where some people who think deeper than cliched moralfags gathering, but how much I've mistaken... There are few of such, and I highly respect them. But it looks like the most of these subs (because they are the loudest and have no shy to say any shit they want without thinking) are brainless kids who like the character only by his appearence and some sort of villanous vibes and THAT'S ALL. Almost NOTHING that such kids post or comment has any link to real canonical Doctor which shows no respect even to script writers' work.) And for sure I will always be shocked by these situation in fandom and especially how stupid they see the Doctor, and coming back to our topic, the original Doctor, so I will repeat that his death or sickness is an absolute anti-canonic shit. He was fuckin' youngster when he graduated and started to experiment on Eleazar, while he concluded with absolutely assuarance that there's an elemental correlation and he really COULD REACH THE POWER OF GOD if only he had a little more input, and we can state Pedrolino give him all he needed, thats why the achievement about reading these old notes is originally called "before «I» was born"; and in Tatarasuna he had no segments yet, because he made them after long decades of researching work on Scaramuccia (because by contrast with Ei he had no guidance and because his goal was not only to make such doll but to enhance this khaenrian technology), it was his original self, but he was ALREADY that self-assured second Harbinger who played his subjects as a rishboland cat, easily changing his voice and appearance and calling Pedrolino from such distance to deliver him a massage just by talking to the atmosphere as some gods do hah. You can say it is all the devices, oh well ok, but he press no button he just uses the energy of ley lines as gods do. So please, don't humiliate his scientifical genius by thinking such cliched way. Even if MHY would decide to explain his defeat this way, it wouldn't be an adequate canon, just some contradictive shit to ignore for not being too disappointed in such interesting plot and character. That's all I want to say and I don't want to arguing with you. If you think the other way... Ok. You can't downvote me here me hereas always, so you can just make a meme but I will stay sane and logical whatever it takes. Even if hoyo would try to crush all their Harbinger's canon where Pedrolino will no longer be the first Fatui as they described him. Being first Fatui but not having a rank as the Fatui is not being a first of the Fatui, it is only being the first to found the Fatui organisation. And these are too different things But it's another topic and you can still think other way, but I am absolutely assured in all my investigations and conclusions and hope hoyo will not be that stupid and contradictive as most of their fanbase. Sorry not sorry for sharpness guys but I'm really tired of this and wait for the worst yet still hoping for the best.

Now that I’ve had time to digest episode 1 of “Loki”, here is my attempt to answer some of the questions I keep seeing from people confused about the series:
1) “Why are there multiple Infinity Stones in the TVA’s possession?
As we see in the series, the TVA is responsible for eliminating any possible branches emerging from the Sacred Timeline. They find the variant, execute them, reset/delete the branching timeline, and confiscate any items that were part of the breach. So it’s highly likely that the Infinity Stones in Casey’s desk were collected from different points in history where a branching timeline was created.
For example, imagine a timeline where Clint Barton died and Natasha got the Soul Stone. Or a timeline where Peter Quill actually gave the Power Stone to Yondu at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. Those alternate scenarios were most likely deleted by the TVA, with the variant Infinity Stones being collected by them as well.
And yes, based on this hypothetical scenario, the Natasha Romanoff who got the Soul Stone and the Peter Quill who gave Yondu the Power Stone were likely captured and executed by the TVA.
2) “Why are the TVA treating the Infinity Gems like paperweights?”
Well, lore-wise, the Infinity Stones don’t work outside of their respective universe and the TVA exists outside of the MCU. They’re a faction of the multiverse, meaning they don’t follow the rules of the individual universes. In addition, those variant stones are now part of timelines that no longer exist due to the TVA wiping them out. At this point, they literally are just normal rocks.
But why the lack of reverence? Shouldn’t the TVA be in awe of these stones? Well...no. This is where the MCU enters the “Cosmic Marvel” territory since the TVA is part of the bigger multiverse. You’re gonna have to expand your thinking when it comes to this since we’re not just talking about normal superheroes anymore. The TVA literally controls the flow of time (and, by extension, the direction of the entire MCU), so the Infinity Gems are actually beneath them in terms of power. For those who don’t read the comics, get ready for a wild ride because it looks like “Loki” is going to explore some of the more grander aspects of Cosmic Marvel, which is perfect timing for the Eternals movie.
Examples of what I mean when I say the grander aspects of Cosmic Marvel: The Beyonder, the One Above All, the Living Tribunal, Eternity, Infinity.
3) “Why didn’t the TVA give their Infinity Gems to the Avengers? That could’ve been helpful against Thanos.”
The TVA doesn’t actually exist in the Sacred Timeline. They’re literally just time police, making sure that the flow of time goes smoothly. If the timeline says that the TVA doesn’t get involved, then they’re not going to get involved.
But isn’t that cruel? They just let Thanos go on a rampage, resulting in the deaths of several beloved characters.
Well...yes. That’s how beholden to the Sacred Timeline they are. And to make things even crueler, the TVA doesn’t have an incentive to help the Marvel heroes. I mean, why should they? They’re a part of the bigger multiverse, so an event like Infinity War and Endgame means nothing to them. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Vision, and Natasha Romanoff are just characters to them, acting out a script that they aren’t even aware of.
To grasp this concept, think of the TVA as Marvel Studios themselves. They’re the ones writing the conflicts and tragedies that happen to our main heroes.
4) “Why didn’t the TVA intervene when the Avengers traveled back in time? Isn’t that a time violation?”
Not gonna lie, this kinda fucked me up as well. But based on what Ravonna Renslayer said, the Avengers’ trips to the past were already part of the Sacred Timeline. Those weren’t violations, those were events that were already written into the main timeline.
I know, that sounds crazy. But think about it. Doctor Strange saw the future where they won against Thanos and in that future, he saw the Avengers developing time travel and collecting the Infinity Stones. So it’s not hard to imagine that the future that Strange saw was the pathway written into the Sacred Timeline. The futures where the Avengers lost are then the branching timelines that would eventually be deleted by the TVA.
So...yeah. Basically, free will doesn’t exist in the MCU. The Avengers didn’t break the timeline, they were just following the script subconsciously given to them by the multiverse. How’s that for an existential crisis?

Episode 2-Play by Play Reactions (Spoilers)
Ooooooh mysterious...
Oh so this variant can (at least briefly) cont people with a simple touch? No need for a scepter?
I NEED A HEROOO!
Oh this variant is taking that lady away? I wonder why
Miss Minutes is gonna move me to violence
Loki is me studying
Hahahahaha get her Loki!
Loki, leave Mobius’ magazines alone
Wow he got into the work force rather fast huh? Bit of a whiplash type scenario considering the end of episode one
No, YOU’RE a cosmic mistake! 😤 my boy looks hot regardless
Sooooo Loki is the most common variant? Why does this not surprise me?
Is... is he a football cup champion??? Omg 😂
Smart boy. Illusion projecting is different than duplication casting. Neato. LISTEN TO MY SMART BOY. RESPECT HIM.
Dude loves wheeling
Yea Loki. Work on getting to the time keepers. Overthrow the government.
Dude is smart with these questions.
Propaganda is INDEED exhausting so that’s fair
Fist hostage... maybe he’s (or she?) gonna use her as a body transfer like Loki in the comics with Sif?
Oh please let this be a genuine smart Loki moment and not just setting him up as a joke and embarrassment...
“Where there are wolf’s ears, wolf’s teeth are near.” Good to know basic mammalian anatomy is still applicable to Asgardian wolves...
Cmon Loki do something cool. Please. Please Loki. Please.
Preach my man, but please, do something cool. My anxiety that you’ll be turned into a joke is spiking.
Is he actually waiting outside or is Loki really just trying to mess with them and throw them off? Or is he just being too cocky for his own good and it’s gonna mess him up? Please please please don’t disappoint me. I have merch for this show already that I can’t return
Bargain baby, bar again. Do it.
Is he actually concerned for the time keepers orrrrrr
Dangit Mobius
Does... being reset... hurt?
Bye C-20 I guess... for now? We’ll see
Of course it’s a friggin theremin that’s playing
Mobius x Judge Renslayer? Oooooooh. Tsundere Renslayer.
Use a coaster my man
Oh her first name is Ravonna
Controversy is the best thing though
You can never understand this Loki. As soon as you begin to understand, he changes. He’s unpredictable.
“I know you have a soft spot for broken things.” Ah, so this entire fandom then?
“But Loki is an evil, lying scourge.” YOU TAKE THAT BACK YOU WENCH!
“That is the part he plays in the sacred timeline.” Well you clearly haven’t been paying enough attention to the files then, hm? Here, let me redirect you to one of the many character analyses I’ve written. Now if you read here........
He doesn’t need to change. He’s already not evil
I don’t trust Renslayer or the time keepers... or Renslayer WITH the time keepers... I think she plays a bigger, antagonistic role than I thought.
You just TRY and delete him Mobius... just... TRY... I will find a way to break the fourth wall and no time keepers can keep you safe from the rage of a million fan girls. Nothing... we don’t need magic...
Omg Loki just sitting there in a chair outside the office like a kid while their parent is talking with the teacher about their “recent behavior”.
Cmon Loki, you don’t need to make excuses or impress him.
My poor boy is SOOO out of his zone.
Tbf mobius, you ASKED. You asked what makes him tick.
Hey hey hey, let’s not gaslight my boy...
The Loki is... uhhh something... gotta keep my hopes up. Trust in Tom Hiddleston...
Mobius showing his true colors...
Please Loki... be badass... not just a joke... please please please... PLEASE!
Mobius, play nice.
I hope this “superior” Loki thing, if it is a female, isn’t a desperate attempt at feminism pandering, chocking up her “superiority” to being female. Please give the characters real stories. Flesh them out.
Juice box time?
No?
More homework?
Bugger...
The sass is off the charts
Librarian lady gonna get killed
Oh boy
Pffffft—
I miss Casey.
Hey don’t ignore Loki. That’s rude.
Bell is the answer?
Poor Loki. Stop trying to fit in. You are best when you are genuinely yourself.
What’s to stop Loki from grabbing the other files?
Homework... I thought I escaped this when I graduated...
Whatcha seeing there?
Oh...
Bye bye Asgard...
Cmon... not more feels.
AGGHHHHHHHH
Please allow him confirmation of Thor’s survival and beating of Thanos!!! He needs that confirmation! He needs that reassurance.
Hear him out Mobius.
“He’s hiding in apocalypses.” Sooooo is that why they go to presumably Mount Vesuvius? I assume?
Mobius, let Loki have your salad.
Rip salad
CASEY
Casey’s juice box
Poor Casey and mobius salad...
Loki, your logic astounds me.
Well, pushing Hulk off of the bridge WOULD have an effect...
VESUVIUS HERE WE COME
He hasn’t really stabbed anyone in the back... except Thor... but not 50 times
Pompeii, here we come!
Ooooooh we gonna see Loki dance with a lady? 😏 get ittttt
Well, if you do cause a branch, can’t you just reset the timeline?
CAUSE SOME CHAOS MY LOVELY MAN
OMG IM HEARING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE SPEAK ITALIAN
I can die happy now
Loki... you look insane.
Uhhh run
Okay you’re good
Sleepy Loki
Let him sleep!
Soooo, I mean, technically, Loki’s actions would still cause the timeline to change, but said change wouldn’t have an impact on the future, just the current moment... so shouldn’t it still be detected by the TVA? At least as a little fleck?
Jet skis?
Omg I just snorted at Loki begrudgingly agreeing with Mobius that jet skis are awesome
Mobius offending my History Teachers for 50 minutes straight... that’s it. That’s the episode.
Mobius really in love with jet skis for some reason
We better get to see Mobius on a jet ski
Fighting for jet skis?
Lol mobius has a point about the magical Asgardians and Jötunns
Glorious purpose
Cmon Loki, destroy this man’s beliefs.
OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT
DO IT
TEAM UP AND THROW THE TIMELINE INTO CHAOS
How would you know what the time keepers are doing when you’ve never met them?
How can you meet in peace at the end of time with no chaos?
“You see, I know something children don’t. That no one bad is ever truly bad. And no one good is ever truly good.”
Mobius, don’t patronize my boy. Go jet skiing.
“I know.” Oh good, that point in the trailer was edited.
No candy on Asgard? Poor Loki.
May the best man win? Well that automatically means Loki.
Getting National Treasure vibes
Love you
Alabama will still exist in 2050? That’s disappointing.
Roxxcart.
Loki is very smart. Thank you show.
Renslayer, if you claim Mobius is your friend, trust him.
Kachow!
“For all time.” “Always.” TVA is definitely a cult.
Weapon?
WEAPON!
...weapon???
no weapon...
Meanie...
Are we gonna see what this Loki variant looks like?
I have a feeling this variant is gonna be the female, blonde (I’m so sorry, at the moment I forget her name) in those pictures we saw. Guessing because 1) she was wearing a Loki outfit. 2) her and tom Hiddleston were wet in that picture as if rained on 3) the scene when they enter Roxxcart occurs when it starts to rain due to the upcoming massive storm. So I’m placing all of my money on the table the Loki variant is Lady Loki. Blonde, for some reason. (Or maybe she just didn’t have a wig on in the picture of her we saw?)
Yea please don’t prune this Loki.
Storms a brewing
Good to know Alabama, at some point, does get destroyed. That’s comforting. (Btw this is a joke. I have nothing against Alabama lol. Idk why my brain thought this was funny lol.)
All wet and rainy.
HAHAHAHA USE THAT MAGIC BABY
LET MOBIUS STICK WITH LOKI
Ooh ooh! Is Loki gonna use powers to yoink the roomba here?
Uh oh. Forgot to take into consideration that most big businesses, especially stores, have security cameras, huh?
Times ticking...
Wait was that a reset charge?
Awkward silence
Spookyyyy
Poor dude lol
Or not
Hmmm
Oh???
I RECOGNIZE THAT MAGIC!!! ITS HER!!!
HUNTER (forget her number) IS THE LOKI VARIANT!!! When was she replaced? Or was she always the variant?
That or the other Loki is projecting herself into the hunter? Maybe used the shopping dude as a conduit?
Moment of realization
Smiling contest
No no, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is superior. I don’t care who else tries to play Loki, Tom IS Loki.
Oh no
Baby crying?
These poor people...
No need to be rough
Is Mobius genuinely caring
Oh... poor C-20
Team up please? Please?
Ah so they really can just send themself into any body they wish, huh? Just by touch?
Loki, learn that trick please.
Sooo, is the other variant Loki’s body tangible? Do they project their conscience into other bodies via touch, or do they not have a corporeal body and rely on others to exist?
Doctor Who vibes
TEAM UP PLEASE
YES
Please
Please?
Offended by Loki name?
Haha sympathy for Thor
Go randy.
Soooo what are you interested in if not ruling the TVA?
Who’s that planting charges? The real body of the other variant Loki?
You okay C-20? (Off topic her actress reminds me of the actress who played Ava Star aka Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp) what is real and what about it is so mind capturing for you?
Oh no
Poor girl
Cmon B-15
Hello?
Reset charge
Oh? Bye bye?
HEY!
That’s rude
I miss Randy too
Cmon Loki fight like the badass I know you are
Please
HAHA! TELEKINESIS
Cartwheel WEEEEE
Oooh he swore
Lokis have a pattern of swearing only while taking other peoples forms
Cmon Loki. Go back to mobius. Help them. Prove your goodness. Please.
Poor trucker man
Hello?
Hello!
Fave reveal?
I KNEW IT
Oh????
Flashlights?
RUN!
Is this actually a Loki variant or just sylvie? Or Amora?
Uh oh...
What’s happening
Is she absolutely destroying the timeline?
Poor Doctor Strange. I wonder if he knows about the TVA?
Loki is all alone? Why is he standing still?
Where is she going?
Cmon Loki... help them please...
Loki...
CLIFF HANGER
NOOOOO I CANT WAIT ANOTHER WEEK AGHHHHHHHH
Are they gonna be okay?
How is the variant traveling?
What is her goal?
Why is Loki going after her?
Why is Loki leaning towards the apparent evil side?
Is this actually lady Loki or sylvie or amora since her hair is blonde?
WHAT IS HAPPENING???
So much just happened in so little time. It’s like Marvel wants to slowly spoon feed us with the first 3/4 of the episode and then in the last 1/4, they waterboard us.
Why is this female Loki variant so much more powerful?
So Loki DID know what was going on at the Renaissance fair and was intentionally stalling for her... why?
Her horned helmet is similar to the one kid(?) Loki wears in the comics. One horn broken. How did that happen? Why does she still wear it, especially if she doesn’t want to be called Loki?
No end credit scene yet.

My thoughts on people saying stephen is acting ooc, or that it’s not really him. Honestly I have a lot of say about this, but I kept it simple.
Doctor Strange (2016)
We see Stephen in Doctor mode, proving a point and being the brilliant, yet arrogant neurosurgeon he is. Then we see him get into a car accident and go through the trauma of losing the ability to use his hands. We see him spiral into depression and anger. We see him at his lowest. Then him training with sorcerers, trying to find his way in the world again. Then we see him fighting an impossible enemy and dying over and over.
Thor Ragnarok (2017)
He is dealing with a god. So of course he’s going to not only be a little more serious about it, he’s going to show his skill in such a way because again, he is dealing with a god from a different world. He’s new to all this, and he has to hold his own against the god of thunder and possibly his brother.
Infinity War (2018)
He is up against an ego just as big as his. He has to protect the time stone because literally the entire universe depends on it. It’s very important. Again, he’s stuck with someone the entire movie who is basically just like him. He’s in measuring contest mode at this point.
Endgame (2019)
He’s in there for like two seconds so whatever.
--SO Yeah. We haven’t had much time for character development or to see a more casual side to him. The most character development he has had, has been in his solo film. Which a lot of people admit to not having watched at all, which blows my mind. Those people just know Stephen from Ragnarok and Infinity War. So they think he’s this super responsible, stoic, serious Gandalf type guy and he’s just NOT. He broke rules left and right. He even “won” against Dormammu by breaking the rules. He is so quick to tamper with stuff he shouldn’t, and also cracked jokes the entire time he was there. Let’s not forget how cheeky he was with Christine in the beginning of his movie? And in the deleted scenes? Stephen is not some stoic, serious, sage type character. He’s kind of a goof ball.
To say Stephen is OOC in the trailer is just silly. Honestly. It’s a trailer so we’re not given full context anyway. Marvel isn’t very good when it comes to character continuity. We all know this. So people go off of what they know about him in Infinity War and not from his solo film. (which to me is more important for the character anyway).
So yeah. This is just my thoughts on this. Because I’m tired of the “sTrAnGe iS AcTiNg sUs. iTs nOt rEaLlY HiM. iTs MePhIsTo oR a vArIaNt” It’s all over here, twitter, and even tiktok. Like I’m sorry. I did not wait this long for more Stephen Strange content for it to not be him. It’s definitely him, and he’s not acting suspicious at all.
Good night.

This is what I've been working on this week. I almost had it finished a few days ago, but it got deleted from my drafts for adding too many images (FYI 10 is the limit number).
Anyway, lessons learned.
On this post I'm just going to do some kind of interpretation of what we've seen in the first episode, so I can have a image of how this concept of Sacred timeline works. It's a bit long, so everything's under the cut.
(I took the images with my phone, so don't expect high quality photos)
Let's start with an interpretation on Miss Minutes's informative video, the one we are shown when Loki arives at the waiting area in the TVA to explain why he is there, and then build up from it.
The video begins with a multiversal war, a battle between timelines. At the end of this war, the Time-Keepers reorganized the multiverse into a single timeline -the Sacred timeline-, and now they protect and preserve "the proper flow of time".
But sometimes, people take the wrong paths, and the changes create nexus events. Those people, called variants, are like the first pebble in a landslide; they can trigger the timeline to develop into multiple branches, leading to another multiversal war. When Miss Minutes say this, we are shown this warning:
Tumblr media
To prevent that, the Time-keepers created the TVA and its workers, whose job is to find variants, apprehend them, and erase the branched timelines created. When a branch is erased, another version of the variant pops up in the main timeline to sustitude the variant as if they had never lost their path. This leaves the variant without a place to return, and so, they are dragged to the TVA to "stand trial for their offenses", a.k.a. going against the Time-keepers dictations on what should be the proper flow of time.
Okey, so...
The Sacred timeline. That sounds ominous, doesn't it? But... What is exactly the timeline? We could consider it to be the things that already happened in the movies and recent series -since the ones previous to Wandavision has little to no effect in the movies-, plus a future we have yet to see -considering the last scene where the hunters find an object that belong to "the third milennium"-. This could arise the question of what are the dimensions shown in Doctor Strange and Ant-man, but I think they are just different parts of the universe, like puzzle pieces, and that they develop within the same timeline (not at the same speed though -Sakaar for example-)
Now, let's talk about the nexus events. What are those? The video says that they are created by a variant that stepped off  their path in the Sacred timeline, and that, left unchecked, could branch off into madness, leading to another multiversal war. But this doesn't explain what exactly are the nexus events.
In this exposition, we are shown two examples: a variant that starts an uprishing, and a variant that were late for work. In the first example, do you see something familiar?
Tumblr media
Those at the left look like kree (blue skinned and teal blue armour), and indeed they are. It was confirmed that it is a representation of the Kree-Skrull War, something we are told about in the movie Capitain Marvel. But wait, if that is a nexus event... how come that it actually happened? Why are they showing that right now? I'll come to this later, I want to talk first about the second example of nexus event:
being late for work
What a dread it is being late, right? How many times have you been late for something? Even if you are a well-timed person (which congrats), there are countless others that aren't. The same could be said of the MCU people. Do you think that every single time someone is late they create a nexus event? It's possible, but it is easier to think that that is not the case. That, to consider actions and decisions as nexus events, they have to be of significant importance, that it can not only change the life of the individual but make a dent even in reality (butterfly effect to the max).
For example, do you remember Clint going back in time to test if Tony's time machine worked with the pym particles? When he returned he took with him a baseball glove. Do you think that object were important enough to create a branch in the timeline or that it was insignificant and made no change? We don't really know because we are not shown the Time heist's consecuencies but let's pretend for the moment that that particular action had no repercussions.
That reduces considerly the posibility of nexus events forming, as it reduces the number of times the TVA's workers have to act on them. But, if that is the case, if those nexus events are arbritary, what is the job of the Time-keepers? Was the Sacred timeline not created by them? Why let those ramifications to happen if they will erase them afterwards?
That is because the "proper flow of time" is quite a literal description of what is happening. I mean, in this universe time flows like a river and everyone and everything travels it like passengers in a boat, with the Time-keepers as the captain and the TVA as the crew.
This is mentioned by Mobius while talking with Loki about the D.B. Copper incident:
Loki: Where was the TVA when I was meddling with these affairs of men?
Mobius: We were right there with you, just surfing that Sacred timeline.
Loki: So that had the Time-keepers' seal of approval, did it?
Mobius: Well, I wouldn't think of it in terms of approval and disapproval. That's sort of a...
That would justify the existence of this nexus events occurring and giving the TVA work to do.
But... what if the TVA is the one that is late? We see the hunters using this device that tells them the development of the branch, like a progress bar during a download, starting at the nexus event
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On both ocasions, we see that the branch growth is getting near a red line. Reaching that line could mean that the branch has reached some king of point of no return, making it stable and maybe imposible to erase with a reset charge.
That can explain why the video shows a representation of the Kree-Skrull War, because a variant -on the Kree's side- had started an uprising and the TVA couldn't erase it before it reached the red line, and thus, the event stayed in the main timeline.
The main timeline could be affected or even altered by that branches, or maybe they could develop into a parallel timelines, or even better, they could coexist with the main timeline -whithin or in sync with it-.
Or maybe, knowing that the Sacred timeline came to exist after the Time-keepers merged the timelines from before the multiversal war, it is also possible that the Sacred timeline is indeed a cluster of parallel smaller timelines? This explain how they represent the Sacred timeline on the informative video:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(do you see those little bifurcations on the gif?)
Returning to the river analogy, the Sacred timeline could be better described as an anastomosing river or a braided river, depending on how stable the branches are and how often they interact with the main timeline.
Now... having this branched timeline in mind... It puts a disappointing image about the TVA. It looks like they aren't doing their only job, right? Well... Being accurate, that is not actually their job.
In the informative, Miss Minutes says that a nexus event could lead to another multiversal war, and that the TVA workers are there to prevent that. They don't erase all branches, they erase those that could lead to chaos, to war between timelines.
That explains why the Avenger's time heist "was ment to happen" (even though they've made a mess at some part...), but Loki escaping is a violation; because the Avengers are the heroes and they are supposed to go against a war (even if they don't know about it), but Loki is too unpredictable, too dangerous, to left roaming free (god of chaos in all its glory).

Sims 4 Sixam Challenge
This variant is adapted from the version of this challenge for TS2. The original idea of the challenge was to play the aliens on their home planet, but since TS4 doesn’t allow you to create your own worlds or have more than one lot on Sixam, we’ll have to slightly revise that part. Instead, the aliens from Sixam have found a habitable, though strangely empty new world. There, they seek to establish a new colony.
Getting started
This challenge requires only Get To Work, but features from any packs can be incorporated if you want. Start a new game and create 3 households of young adult alien Sims to start with. They can have any features you like, the only important part is whether they can get pregnant or not:
One queen, a Sim who can get pregnant
Two drones, Sims who can get others pregnant
Three caretakers, who can neither get pregnant or get others pregnant
Remove all premade Sims from the save. If you want, you can keep some of your favourite male premades to get abducted later, but that’s not a necessity. Pick a world to start your colony, and move your three households into 3 empty lots. Build a nursery for the caretakers and a house for the drones. For the Queen you have a choice: the Queen may have a palace on this planet, or you may cheat to acquire an Electroflux Wormhole Generator, and build a palace on Sixam where she spends most of her time by using bb.enablefreebuild on Sixam. If you have City Living, give the lot where the Queen spends their time the on ley line lot trait. If not, you may cheat to give her (and any queen after her) the fertile reward trait.
After that, play rotationally. The task of the drones is to woo the queen. The task of the queen is to have as many babies as possible with the drones. Move any of her babies into one of the nurseries. The task of the caretakers is to take care of these babies until they become teens. If the number of Sims in one nursery ever grows too large, move one caretaker and some of the younglings out, give them $18,000 and let them establish a new nursery.
Castes
Once the younglings become teens, you may roll to assign them one of five castes: Reproductive, High Councillor, Technician, Caretaker or Worker. If their caste is anything other than Caretaker, they move out of the nurseries and into a household with other aliens of similar age and the same caste. The caste determines what their tasks are, whether they can reproduce and what jobs they can get. The rules are as follows.
Reproductive
This caste consists of two subtypes: Drones and Queens. Queens are the only aliens with the ability to get pregnant, and Drones are the only ones who can get others pregnant. All other Aliens get the “neither” setting. There may only be one active Queen at a time: if there already is a Queen, the next eligible aliens have to sit out their turn until the current Queen becomes an elder. If you don’t have a mod to age your pregnant Sims, your Queen needs to age up at the moment she would have aged up anyway.
The Drones do not stay with the colony they were born with, and will be shipped off to a new colony to serve a new Queen when they become Young Adult. When that happens, create a new Drone in CAS (or download one from the Gallery) and move him in. The Drone born in your game becomes unplayable: either delete them or turn them into a townie. If a friend is playing this challenge as well, it can be really fun to exchange your drones with them, and have them live out their lives in each other’s colony.
A Note on Gender
While I generally refer to the Queen as she/her here, Queens and Drones may be of any gender and any agab. As with any of the other aliens, how you want to play their presentation and gender identity is completely up to you, the player. However, I consider it to be not in the spirit of the challenge for the player to be able to pick and choose which Sim gets to be your new Queen. Therefore, at the start of the challenge you may decide whether you want to roll for the ability to get pregnant regardless of agab for reproductive Sims. The rest of the gender customization is up to you.
Caretaker
These Sims live in the nurseries and take care of the Queen’s spawn. They may not take jobs, taking care of the young aliens is their job.
Technician
The smartest aliens, these aliens are focused on building their skills and collecting things. If you have Discover University, they will go to University as well, and are invested in building robots.
Available careers: Astronaut, Criminal (Oracle Branch), Freelancer (Programmer branch), Secret Agent, Tech Guru (Start-up Entrepreneur Branch), Doctor, Scientist, Gardener (Botanist branch), Military (Covert Operator Branch), Conservationist (Marine Biologist Branch), Education (Professor Branch), Engineer, Civil Designer (Green Technician Branch), Salaryperson (Expert Branch)
High Councillors
The richest and most powerful aliens, these aliens are focused on getting rich, having the most lavish houses and getting ahead in their careers. If you have Get Famous, they are also focused on fame.
Available careers: Business, Criminal (Boss Branch), Painter (Patron of the Arts Branch), Style Influencer (Trendsetter Branch), Critic, Politician, Social Media (Internet Personality Branch), Actor, Military (Officer Branch), Conservationist (Environmental Manager Branch), Education (Administrator Branch), Law, Civil Designer (Civic Planner Branch), Salaryperson (Supervisor Branch).
Workers
The common folk, these aliens are focused on arts, crafting, gardening and running their own businesses. If you have Dine Out, they may also start their own restaurants.
Available careers: Athlete, Culinary, Entertainer, Freelancer (All branches but programmer), Painter (Master of the Real Branch), Style Influencer (Stylist Branch), Tech Guru (eSports Gamer Branch), Writer, Detective, Social Media (Public Relations Branch), Gardener (Floral Designer Branch).
Human Sims
If there is currently no Queen available, you may abduct a single young adult male human Sim. He is moved into a house on his own, and you may cheat to get the satellite dish to attract aliens and get him abducted. His task is to get abducted as often as possible, and raise the resulting babies himself.
Finances
The rules in this section are entirely optional; if you prefer to play with unlimited funds then that is totally fine.
The economy functions in two phases: the first ends when the first Sims born in-game become Young Adults. During phase one, the nurseries, queen and drones subsist on grants from the Galactic Colonization Initiative. This grants the Queen and Drones $500 each per baby. The nurseries each receive $1000 per birthday. During phase 2, the High Councillors, Technicians and Workers owe taxes to the other castes. The amount they owe is determined by their weekly bill amount: High Councillors owe an amount equal to their bill amount each to the Queen, a nursery of their choice and a Drone household of their choice. The Technicians and Workers owe an amount equal to half their bill amount to the Queen, and an amount equal to half their bill amount to one of the Nurseries.
When establishing a new household on an empty lot, Sims receive an $18,000 grant. If there is a house built for their caste that is uninhabited because all inhabitants have died, you may choose to forgo this grant and establish a new household on that lot with freerealestate.
Rich aliens may donate to nurseries or humans in need on top of their taxes. Additionally, they may leave their current funds to a nursery when they die, but they may not sell their house to get more funds to donate.
End Condition
The challenge ends when a Queen whose birth mother was born in game dies of old age.

Who is Marvellous Melvyn?
Tumblr media
"A Deleted Doctor Strange Variant.
Marvel costume concept artist Darrell Warner revealed a deleted Doctor Strange variant that never made it into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Warner posted on his personal Instagram a concept piece showcasing a version of Stephen Strange wearing a red fez and pulling a rabbit out of a hat like a classical magician.
The caption revealed that the piece was titled "Marvellous Melvyn" and was done "very early on in the first lockdown" as a part of the "the Scott Derrickson script that subsequently changed with the arrival of Sam Raimi:"
"I am honoured to be amongst such hallowed company and have this Watercolour progress through to be one of the Finalists of the ‘Live Action Feature Character’ at this years Concept Art Association Awards | ‘Marvellous Melvyn’ was a piece I completed very early on in the first lockdown following one aspect/alternative ‘Strange’ universe within the Scott Derrickson script that subsequently changed with the arrival of Sam Raimi | It is quite rare to be allowed to follow one’s intuition as regards to a given character and I need to extend many thanks to the Costume Designer Graham Churchyard for allowing me to develop and produce this concept | All in all it was an absolute joy to complete and so very pleased it has found some recognition"
This "Marvellous Melvyn" is seemingly the same Strange that was mentioned in the Multiverse of Madness by writer Michael Waldron, where Waldron revealed there was once a moment in the script where the characters met a Variant of Doctor Strange named "Melvin Strange, a street magician who was a version of Strange without any magic:”
“…went to a universe and met a character called Melvin Strange, a street magician who was a version of Strange without any magic.”

Anon, I’m so sorry I accidentally deleted your question. I accidentally posted my draft and then I panicked!! Again, I’m so sorry!!! I hope you see this!!
Okay, so about Celine. She was born two years after Demise supposedly emerged from a fissure in the earth, and she’s the only daughter to a single father, who is also a doctor. When she’s a child, she and her father often go to the fortress in the center of the city, owned by Lord Dagianis. There, she learns medicinal practices as well as formal etiquette. However, she takes the most interest in watching and playing nurse to the page boys. The most important of whom is Link, who is two years older than her.
She thinks his name is kinda lame, so she calls him Forge instead because his uncle is a blacksmith.
So like... These two. Oh boy, let me talk about these two. Celine likes picking on Forge for just about everything he does. He’s average in his class, but he seems to do everything in his power to get himself hurt. He gets thrown off his horse, he cuts himself while sharpening a blade, cuts his cheek because he puts his face too close to the arrow when he fires it... It’s ridiculous. He’s a very ridiculous lad. And every time one of the page boys gets hurt, he ends up with Celine and her father to get treated.
So basically Celine’s constantly making fun of Forge, being a tease and poking at the spots where he falters in his training. But at the same time, she goads him to be better and be his best self; all the while, Forge is 100% indulging her, try as he might to keep an eye on her and keep her from going crazy.
When she’s twelve and he’s fourteen, Forge is elevated to the rank of squire and assigned to a knight. That knight may or may not be assigned to Celine’s family but tbh I have absolutely no idea on that one. What’s important is that those two are extremely close friends, to the point where they egg each other on about the stupidest things. Maybe it’s about how she looks so stuffy in the latest dress, or maybe it’s about how he looks so stupid in pantaloons!
Or maybe it’s about Celine why are you trying to sneak out of the city in the dead of night?
So... The whole reason why Forge develops such a love for the land of Hylia is because Celine was the one to goad him into leaving the city in the first place. And so for the next ten years or so, these two are traveling all around the land of Hylia on self-made scouting missions, learning all about the different peoples in the land; at the same time, they’re chronicling the sudden appearance of all these strange creatures that seem to be spreading about the land. Nobody had ever seen them until Demise came along...
That’s pretty much all I can say before it gets really sad and I make myself hurt.
Tumblr media
So like... Celine is very dumb. She’s pure chaotic energy and I love her. She’ll fight anything if Forge lets her.
Tumblr media
And I just... I have one type of character, and it’s redheaded ladies with medical history.
Tumblr media
Also, in case you were wondering, the scar on her cheek is actually from when she and Forge were fighting a couple bokoblins. One of them got the jump on her and tried to slice up her face!
Tumblr media
Above is her travel gear, which is honestly really old and I need to update it. Meanwhile, the ones below are both variants of her daily wear. I need to design something that’s more in line with the one instance of a woman I saw in the Hyrule Historia manga, and it seems to be more straight up medieval.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anon, I’m still really sorry about the earlier cerfuffle, and I hope you’re able to see this post! Please let me know if you’re interested in hearing more! OwO

Wah
Full disclosure: I played an entire 20-level Dungeons and Dragons campaign as a character based on Waluigi.
An entire campaign
like almost 2(?) years of my life
playing a joke character
I based on Waluigi.
Scratchy nasal voice and going waaa and everything.
I wore a goddamn Waluigi hat.
I’m torn on this, folks. On the one hand, I feel like I should’ve changed my character to a more original creation after a couple levels. Play as a joke character for a little while to get used to 5E, then switch over to one of my brainchildren.
On the other hand, I fucking love Waluigi. I’ve wanted a Waluigi game since the Nintendo 64 era. I despaired when Nintendo failed us again last year (I’M LOOKING AT YOU, SAKURAI).
Well, what’s done is done. My Level Ridiculous Moon Elf Rogue-Ranger is part of our old group’s canon timeline, becoming the kingpin of the Baldur’s Gate underworld.
Strange, the passing of time.
Without further ado, a Waluigi build! After I deleted like half my notes when I shouldn’t have. Not like it was an accident - it was a totally conscious decision I regretted a few days later when trying to figure out why the hell I picked the things I did.
TOO BAD, WALUIGI TIME.
Race
Outwardly, Waluigi’s clearly a half-elf, if I had to pick a Wizards-sanctioned D&D race. Noodle build, big pointy ears, somehow still grows facial hair.
In the campaign I mentioned, I made my boy a moon elf. And his mustache was magical because elves can’t grow facial hair. I never fully fleshed out the magic mustache’s origin.
Functionally, neither elf nor half-elf caters to the Waluigi experience. Half-elves get that major Charisma bump. Waluigi’s not a charismatic fella; doesn’t play nice with others, throws fits. You know the type. Plus the Fey Ancestry feature doesn’t quite match up.
My number one choice? Githyanki.
That little Intelligence increase: Between him and Wario, he’s supposed to be a bit more cunning, more the Snidely Whiplash type.
Strength Boost: Waluigi’s always statted as a heavyweight/high-power character.
Githyanki Psionics: So githyanki get these psionic-flavored spell-like abilities at levels 1, 3, and 5. Mage Hand’s a bit of a stretch. Idk, Waluigi always has an abnormally long reach in Mario Sportball. But githyanki get Jump and Misty Step at levels 3 and 5, respectively. In multiple games, Waluigi has Super Jump abilities, and in at least one of the Mario Strikers titles, he has the ability to kind of Nightcrawler-bamf while he’s running.
Note: I’m aware Gith are kinda… noseless. Maybe your Waluigi Gith wears a false one, or a plague doctor mask, I dunno. Like he’s self-conscious about not having a nose, or the nose and mustache is their shitty disguise and everyone just goes along with it.
Class
Again, I picked Rogue for my way-too-long tenure playing High Fantasy Waluigi.
Looking back, I don’t think that was a bad way to go. He’s highly skilled, has well-rounded stats with an emphasis on Defense and Control (equal to DEX in a D&D framework, I guess?), and a set of special moves focused on sabotaging other characters.
I considered Alchemist (the ENWorld template), because Waluigi and his stages and items and stuff usually have a bomb motif. But beyond the bombs, I don’t think the Alchemist’s abilities are as neat a fit.
Subclass
My version of a D&D Waluigi was an Arcane Trickster. After looking into some of his more obscure abilities, I think that was the best way to go! Unfortunately, I didn’t use my abilities to their full Waluigi-ness.
The Mario Bros. and Wario all need power-ups to give them an edge. (With a few notable exceptions, like in Superstar Saga where Mario and Luigi unlock the ability to wield fire and lightning, respectively.) Waluigi, on the other hand, demonstrates several innate magical abilities. To name a few: surrounding himself with whirlwinds, summoning walls of thorns, filling the arena with water, cloaking his projectiles with illusions, etc. These lend beautifully to an Arcane Trickster, with a suggested spell list below:
Cantrips
gust
mage hand
minor illusion
shape water
true strike
Level 1
catapult
feather fall
fog cloud
jump
magic missile
silent image
Level 2
darkvision
dust devil
gust of wind
levitate
magic weapon
misty step
warding wind
Level 3
fireball
major image
tidal wave
wall of water
Level 4
control water
dimension door
Evard’s black tentacles
Background
The Criminal background seems obvious, but mechanically, I think two other backgrounds fit better:
Gladiator (Entertainer variant) and Harborfolk (Elemental Evil).
Acrobatics because that boy can jump (I’d rather demonstrate with GIFs, but I am lazy) and he can like swim through the air for no reason; and he’s a big ol ham, so Performance.
Gladiator also grants you proficiency in an unusual weapon. In all his appearances, Waluigi doesn’t really use weapons, besides bombs and Bullet Bills and other explosives/ballistics. If your DM allows firearms in their world, that could be his “Unusual Weapon” proficiency. Otherwise, I was thinking if I had the chance to redo a Waluigi-inspired character, I would use bats; baseball bats, tennis rackets, cricket bats (I like the image of D&D Waluigi cracking skulls with a cricket bat, I dunno why), etc. You could probably just borrow stats for clubs.
For Harborfolk: Athletics and Sleight of Hand make sense to me, and because of his high Control in the Mario Kart series, I’d say any vehicle proficiency is a good fit.
Suggested Characteristics
Gladiator
Personality Trait: I get bitter if I’m not the center of attention.
Ideal: Greed. I'm only in it for the money and fame.
Bond: I want to be famous, whatever it takes.
Flaw: I have trouble keeping my true feelings hidden. My sharp tongue lands me in trouble.
Harborfolk
Personality Trait: I'm a fisher, but I secretly detest eating fish. I will do anything to avoid it.
Ideal: I will gain the favor of someone powerful.
Bond: [A gang/faction] killed my friend. I'll get them back somehow, someday.
Flaw: I oversell myself and make promises I can't keep when I want to impress someone.
Suggested Feats
Acrobat
Athlete
Defensive Duelist
Durable
Elemental Adept
Magic Initiate
Resilient
Sharpshooter
Skilled
Spell Sniper
Congrats! You survived my first post! Your reward?
MORE TRASH!!
Stay tuned for just a bit more Waluigi!
“Please no stop with the Waluigi. I will kill myself and then you if you say “Waluigi” one more goddamn time.”
I hear you. I’m not changing my behavior, but I hear your complaints. But let me explain:
For some characters, I’ll be following up the “Canon Builds” (the format of this here post) with a new subclass targeting these characters. I’ll usually make a “Character Class” if some vital part of the character and their abilities feels missing from the Canon Build, if I couldn’t find anything that fit.
For instance, I relied on a lot of stretches of the imagination for Waluigi, relying on stuff like his Mario Sportball stats and specials to select the closest analogous things in D&D. Using Arcane Trickster, I captured some of his weirder, more obscure abilities.
But remember the Snidely Whiplash thing I mentioned earlier? I feel like that’s Waluigi’s core: explosives and sabotage. And other classes known for using explosives – Artificer and Alchemist – I don’t think quite cut it.
So stay tuned for the Dastardly Prankster Roguish Archetype! Unless I come up with a better name! Until then, ta-ta!

I hope I don’t have ____, but I hope I have SOMETHING.
Yesterday, I received my genetic test results; it cost $250 and analyzed 26 genes related to auto-inflammatory diseases. In a big grey box it stated, “Negative result. No pathogenic sequence variants or deletions/duplications identified.” My heart sank, then lifted, then sank again and then broke into pieces. Every time I receive a negative test result, I go through the same wave of emotions. It’s not that I hope I have a terrible disease or some genetic mutation that I could potentially pass along to my children, but I’m hoping for an answer to this mysterious illness that has taken over my life. It’s a bittersweet feeling when my sixth hospitalization in the past few months results in no conclusive findings. I’m relieved that I wasn’t diagnosed with a serious illness, but I’m left with doubts about what the heck is going on with me and unanswered questions about my future.  The hard part about many of these tests is that in fine print it says, “This negative test result does not eliminate the possibility that the individual’s condition has a genetic component. Clinical follow up of this individual and their family members may still be warranted.” So, essentially, I spent $250 to find out that science isn’t sure what I have (or don’t have).
I remember the first time I learned that doctors didn’t have the answer to everything. A similar experience to when you realize your parents aren’t superhumans, there’s a part of you that loses a little faith and another part of you that is humbled by all that science has discovered so far and even more appreciative to be alive now as opposed to 50 years ago.
When my brain tumor grew back just 6 months after having it surgically removed, my doctors presented me with two treatment options: surgery or radiation. Due to the aggressive nature of my tumor and how rare it was, my top-notch doctors at NYU told me that they just didn’t know which one I should choose. Frustrated and afraid of making the wrong choice, I went to four other hospitals including Johns Hopkins and the NIH for second, third and fourth opinions, each time, hoping for a clue as to which treatment would be best for me. Ultimately, the decision was made for me because as time went on, my tumor became inoperable and forced me to undergo radiation.
After the whole brain tumor fiasco, I was sure that the rest of my life would be smooth sailing.  How could it not be? In my journey to diagnosis, I was faced with a torn esophagus, a collapsed lung, pnuemomediastinum, subcutaneous emphysema, severe neuralgia, and migraines. When my tumor grew back, I also experienced papilledema of both eyes and dysfunction of cranial nerves 9-12 (paralyzed right vocal cord, loss of taste on the back third of my tongue on the right side, inability to shrug my right shoulder, etc.).  Everyone I spoke to reassured me that this would be my biggest obstacle in life and pointed out how lucky I was that I experienced all this adversity at a young age, when I could not only recover faster and more fully than someone who was older, but that I would bounce back a stronger woman and be able to help others who experience obstacles later in life.
Once I recovered from radiation, I faced a whole new set of issues. At 22 years of age, nobody informed me of the dangers of getting back on my feet too quickly. I had decided to take an anatomy and physiology class at community college to learn more about my body and to try my hand at science – a topic that had never come easily, but that sparked a newfound interest I never expected to hold. I remember walking up the stairs to my class, my backpack stuffed to the brim with textbooks and binders. I had this strange dull ache in my leg the past week or so, but didn’t think much of it until one morning when I woke up in excruciating pain. I called my mom from my bed, crying from the pain shooting down my leg, unable to walk. Long story short, I was diagnosed with sciatica – a painful condition I only recalled older people complaining of. No doctor I went to was sure of where my pain was actually coming from. After multiple MRIs and CT scans, the only findings were two minor disc bulges between L4/L5 and L5/S1 and a minor degree of degenerative disc disease. I struggled for the next 3-4 years with episodes of terrible pain and underwent numerous treatments including epidural injections, SI joint injections, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic treatment, spinal decompression therapy, and a botox injection into my piriformis muscle. The theory was that I had jumped back into my regular routine too quickly and my back muscles weren’t prepared for the spike in activity, resulting in an inflammatory response that aggravated my sciatic nerve.
Throughout all of this, I unsurprisingly fell into a deep depression and was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder (among other things that I’ll probably share more about in another post). After receiving treatment, I learned to view my health struggles as positive experiences. They set me on a new career path in medicine, helped me realize how strong I really am, and also filtered the people in my life, leaving me with only those who supported me no matter what and got rid of those fair weather friends.
Surely now, after all that I had been through before even reaching the age of 30, I was REALLY facing a lifetime of health and happiness, right? Not quite! If you’ve been following my journey, you already know that I have been extremely sick since the beginning of April. Before you start feeling bad for me and questioning why bad things happen to good people (all of which I have already done), let me tell you that I am the happiest I have been in a long time. Of course, I would be happier if I had my health, but I am done putting off my happiness until _____ happens. Why must we hold off on our life until things are perfect or until we’ve checked off certain boxes? I so often hear my clients say that they “will be happy when…” What if those boxes never get checked? Why wait for happiness to find you when you can find it? Radical acceptance does not mean that you have to agree to the conditions you are currently facing, or that you must live the way you are living forever; rather, it means that you accept the way things are, especially those which you have no control over. It means you can live your life and be happy, despite the adversity you may be facing or boxes that have yet to be checked. Will I ever get a diagnosis? Maybe. But for now, that is not a predictor of my happiness.

Touched A Nerve...
Trump To Propose Medicare Cuts
Well, I haven't posted a long-form rant in awhile. But this hits far too close to home to ignore.
Let me say this: Beginning in 2007-08, I began experiencing a set of symptoms that felt like simple muscle fatigue, except that I was utterly depleted some days. I'd work 40-50 hours a week, sometimes more, selling electronics and later mattresses. I loved my job. Even after all those years, and all that crap I dealt with, I loved my job. They were always fair to me, and I gained the respect and admiration of everyone who worked there. I became known as a bit of a problem solver, a troubleshooter.
Everything seemed to be going well, then I started falling asleep on the sales floor, while speaking to customers. This happened ten, perhaps fifteen times, and then I also began to fall over, randomly. It was about this time that during sleep one night, I awoke unable to breathe. Thinking this was temporary, I tried propping myself up and all sorts of things. I finally just sat in a chair and slept. In fact, that was the only position I could breathe in (aside from standing).
Freaking out, my primary care doctor sent me to a specialist who ran two sleep studies and determined that I had obstructive sleep apnea. But that's not all... The apnea was the first diagnosis in a tree of diagnoses. Shortly after this, the specialist took X-rays of my chest and determined I had bilateral diaphragm paralysis (or for those who need a refresher: the muscle that stimulates your lungs to inhale and exhale) does not work on me, anymore. This means I have the appearance outwardly of "seething" or "in discomfort" as I use my pectoral and back muscles to compensate and force out deeper breaths (my normal resting ones are very shallow).
I continued to work. I'm a liberal, but I was brought up in a very conservative family, and in a very conservative area. My father taught me that you don't take welfare unless you need it. I felt I could still work, and didn't need it. Plus, I also figured that it'd take months to be approved, and my wife and I and our financial situation wasn't going to take any kind of hit like that. One person working is not easy to live off of. I continued going to doctors to treat these strange maladies that seemed to creep up overnight.
My specialist decided to send me to a neurologist who in turn sent me to two more, as they all had more experience than the one previous. Finally ending with who I see now. He took blood tests, ran them twice to make sure, sent them to two different labs, and came up with a conclusion. "You have Pompe Disease" he said to me. I had no idea what that was. Some vague inkling only from reading it on WebMD. I came home and did research. It's a form of muscular dystrophy, autosomal and recessive. My parents both gave me the mutated and deleted alleles that combined to give me this.
The disease (or rather the late onset variant I have) has a whole host of things that can occur such as: tongue enlargement, hearing loss, muscle wasting, limb-girdle muscle loss, paralyzed diaphragm, sleep apnea... you get the picture. Less than 60,000 people have it, and it's considered rare and an orphan disease.
But I'm getting ahead of myself here. When I first got diagnosed, I was still working 40+ hours a week, selling beds. By this point my fellow associates were plainly aware of my disability (as was management), and I was given a chair to rest on, and assistance putting stock away, and almost every other task. I felt I could still work. Then came July 31st 2016. A day I will always recall. On that day, like any other I stood at the cash register and my right leg burned like fire, then went numb. Not asleep. Numb. I couldn't feel it at all. It was in the middle of a sales rush and I couldn't move to help people. I managed to grab onto chairs, walls, doorframes -- whatever was around -- and pull myself on one good leg back to the office. I called management and had my direct manager and another one hoist me up and basically carry me out to the car, as my wife had come to get me.
Several weeks of therapy, and a EMP test (shoving needles into your body and shocking you ...yeah it's as fun as it sounds) and applying for short term disability through my employer yielded the recommendation that I be put on Lumizyme, the genetic replacement therapy that is used to treat Pompe. I felt lousy. Pretty much daily. Bored, alone, scared.
I applied for Social Security and got approved and quit my job of 14 years so I could fight this thing. There's no cure for it. It slowly turns every skeletal muscle in your body to sludge. It makes it so you lose the ability to move without aid of a wheelchair, and in a final act of terribleness, it suffocates you or drowns you in your own fluids. It's not pretty.
After three failed tests to get myself into a study (everything would've been free), I was told I needed to begin therapy ASAP. I did this. Lumizyme costs close to $220,000 a year without insurance. You also have to take the therapy for the rest of your life. Bi-Weekly. With my wife's plan it's taken down to $6,400. That's still out of my ability to pay off, so we're getting help for assistance programs. I can only imagine what this would be like for someone WITHOUT insurance.
Anyhow, the treatments are fine. 8 hour sessions sitting around making sure the genetic therapy (dispensed into the arm through an IV) doesn't randomly kill me. Then comes a week of ups and downs. The day after I feel exhausted and depleted, and don't want to exert myself much. The day after that I typically have a lot more energy, then the next four are a steady downturn. All sorts of weird pains and burning flushes, heat flashes, night sweats, cold chills, dizziness, nausea, weakness, migraines. So debilitating that I can't do anything and end up napping in my chair because it's literally all I can do.
Now, I have massive digestion issues. They thought they saw a gallstone but it disappeared and now, after seeing a GI doctor, he determined that a endoscopy would be best to see why my GERD is so bad. Nothing seems to control it despite me being on a fairly rigorous battery of control meds.
Yes, I have so much medical debt I can't keep on top of it. I'll likely have to file bankruptcy to clear all of it. My wife and I manage (if but barely) to live month to month off of SS and her checks from being a cashier 40+ hours a week. If I could go to work; trust me I would. I loved helping people. I loved fixing problems, I loved learning and selling. I loved my coworkers and customers. I miss the daily contact more than anything...but I'm wobbly on my legs, my center of balance is all off, I depend on the cane, but I can't stand without an object to lean into because I can't breathe adequately. I have strings of days where I get disgustingly sick, and some days I spend more time in the bathroom than I do in the living room. I'm a liability. I'm a fall risk, I get random sweats, my shoulders and back muscles ache so bad after washing dishes for ten minutes, there's no way I could stand up for an eight hour shift. It's piercing, gnashing, burning pain. It's muscles dying.
Ask yourself this, GOP: if you lump everyone in as "cheats", that the system is being taken advantage of, then what of us who depend on this? Who have cancer? Who are on death's doorstep? Take a step back and ask yourself: Do I have a right to take away access to affordable healthcare do I have the right to take away money that these people need to survive...to pay their massive debt they've incurred? Not everyone is a real estate magnate and owns eight golf courses and a fucking private island or a yacht.
And I'm not worthless because I'm not in that sect. You need to stop playing games with programs that don't cost you a damn thing in order to find pet projects like a xenophobic border wall or a multi million dollar arms deal. These programs are essential. Not everybody is faking, not everyone is taking advantage of it. And not every disability is the same, or is readily visible.
As for me? I will continue getting the treatments I need to continue living, despite all the side effects they're causing me and hope to all hell that I don't lose the income I'm getting that's keeping me afloat.
