Optimus: gotta stay focused

looks too old compared to his bot form.

I find it impossible for Optimus to be more than a million years old in this canon. In the least, he's older than 1000 years and since we have mfs that are canonically over 70 million years old(fagatron iykyk) compared to that, he feels like a dude in his early-to-mid-30's being the group parent.

-I made him more youthful, gave him curly hair, and tailored his clothing to actually look like his bot form.

-workaholic

-on the cusp of barley being able to hold his liquor

-doesn't own a pair of pajamas until Sari gets some for him

-usually forgets to put them on, but appreciates the gesture

-stays active for like, 3 days until he can't fight off sleep with work brain anymore, and unceremoniously passes out on the couch to sleep for a full 24 hours

-ratchet sighs and puts a blanket over him as per routine

-frequently checks security feed

-elf on the shelf despiser

-early morning talks with jazz and ratchet over coffee (they all wake up at 6 am)

-half thrives on caffeine and a vigorous training protocol

-is a dog person, loves German shepherds to death

Ratchet: to old for this nonsense

Ratchet is really old, he's got a sallow face and a gramp gut, how dare they square him. He's wayyy too angular and peachy looking.

-I gave him his luscious curves back, adding all the equipment id expect a field medic to have because he is a field medic, not a regular doctor. I changed his facial proportions, and also made his face gaunt, for that dead inside PTSD look.

-drinks his coffee black with brown sugar, literally drinks it piping hot

-is one of those old people who complains about noise

-confiscates bumblebee and Sari's toy cars, and puts them in a high up cabinet

-neither of them know how to bypass the child safety lock lmao

-Ratchet doesn't give a rats ass about what he thinks of course

Bumblebee: professional smart-ass

doesn't match his body type/age.

Bumblebees holoform is presented as a 10-12 year old child specifically for the fact that he's short, and the comedic relief. Total ass

I set his human age as 19-20 years old, making him more of a big brother to sari because that og model is disappointingly lackluster

-Bumblebee is a scrappy wisecracking punk, like an adhd kid who just got roller skates for Christmas.

-since he doesn't have wheels, I feel like he'd wear skates instead to emulate the feeling

-terrible at watching where he's going cuz he's too busy trying to show off, so ratchet makes him wear all that padding + training wheels

-legit despises the padding and training wheels

-Jealous of Blurr for mastering roller blades lmao.

-his favorite games are choose your fighter and fps

-saw ONE ancient ass assassins creed playthrough and begged ratchet to install hidden tasers in his arm bands (was denied)

-Sari used her key to do it instead

-self appointed "rizzler"

-Optimus has zero idea of what that means and thinks it's code for something dubious

-Ratchet knows what it means and thinks it's silly

-"I' was something of a rizzler myself back in my day, kid"

-bumblebee cringes

-loves summer and swimming

-wants to be the fastest thing in the sea because y'know, it's bumblebee

-is spooked from the beach for awhile cuz he saw sharks in Prowls nature documentary

Bulkhead: big guy, bigger heart

doesn't match his body type/aspirations.

Jesus fuck he's so wide?? And his belly migrated to his shoulders?? I'm gonna be honest, I really hate this design. I feel like it contributed to the "brute strength = stupid" take that most in the fandom associates with him.

There are so many naruto time travel fics out there but what I need SPECIFICALLY is an ANBU era team of Kakashi, Tenzo, Itachi, and Shisui getting flung into the founders era.

Like. Ok just looking from the political side of it that's;

A) 2 very young and VERY powerful Uchiha's (one of which is the future clan head!! Politics!!)

B) A very fucked up baby mokuton user who's still in the middle of being deprogrammed and can totally pass for Senju

C) The free wild card that is Hatake clan lore on top of having a stolen sharingan. On top of *that* him being the team leader of a team of kids who, in the time period context, should both be at eachothers throats and probably not be expected to obey the commands of someone not only from another clan but a way smaller one

Theres SO much potential there!! So many political implications in virtually ALL of the directions!!!!

Yk what as I'm typing this out I'm having ✨️ideas✨️ so let's make some story points to sort those out:

• I think itd be neat to have this happen like. A year? Ish? Before the massacre? So age wise, and full disclaimer I'm referencing Google and Wikipedia rn so I could totally be wrong, I think that's :

Could be wrong about the ages but honestly it's my world you're just living in it, so.

Then me going totally purely off of my own headcannons, were going to say they came in a about a year before Izuna died and place the founders ages as:

Madara (23)

Hashirama (23)

Izuna (19)

Tobirama (18)

Big fan of Tobirama being the youngest between the 4 but projecting the aura of someone as old as like. Idk, however old Madara is. Very funny to me, 10/10

• I'm personally a big fan of dogteeth kakashi so we're running with that all the way home. Also a huge fan of the "Hatake's are a distant, more feral cousin of Inuzuka clan" hc along with some sprinklings of "back in the day they had a bit of a Reputation(tm) for being a 'lill wild, and everyone generally tries to avoid them. Which isn't too much of a problem because theyre a very small out of the way clan from Iron, they just have a big reputation in contrast to their size.

In more modern times tho, along with (obviously) having dwindled down to a single depressed teenager, they've become a lot tamer over the years due to village life. Kakashi is a Hatake, 100%, but he is NOT up to the standards of this time. Which becomes a bit funny when people see him, go "oh FUCK it's a Hatake" and then start edging slowly towards the door like he's about to rip their throat out with his teeth. Meanwhile he's standing there like 🧍‍♂️"am I that ugly."

Give me a scene where, finally used to this reaction to him from the general shinobi population, the team starts to use it to their advantage.

"Give us the scroll or we'll let the Hatake off the leash to have his fun with you. He's been awfully hungry latley you know, hasn't had fresh meat in days"

Kakashi, feeling kind of stupid, gave his best growl.

It caused an almost immediate, embaressed flush to rise to his face, but he didn't let up. It sounded more like an almost pathetic puppy growl than anything to his ears, but apparently it was enough to convince the trembling enemy nin because he slowly lifted the scroll up in offering.

Wow. Now he couldn't tell if he was embaressed for himself or for this guy.

Probably both to be honest.

• So like. Itachi is the clan heir. That's big. That's important. Let's do something with that.

First off, I had a great time reading this one fic (tho I don't even remember what the fic itself was about now, oops) where a plot point of it was how Sasuke is just a walking stereotype of main house Uchiha. Like people look at him and they don't just go "oh that's an Uchiha." They go "oh fuck that's an UCHIHA Uchiha." He's so fucking painfully, obviously related to the very tippy top of the clan that anyone not blind can tell. It's in the way he looks, it's in the way he talks and treats those around him, it's in the way he fucking holds himself. You look at him and every other stereotype about the Uchiha clan is there in big, bold letters. (On top of that he's also a dead wringer for Izuna, which I'm such a sucker for and desperatley wish people would do more with)

So like let's give that to Itachi here because it's so fun for several reasons.

First off; Sasuke in this is like. Straight up a doppelganger of Izuna, just a few generations apart. They could be twins. Itachi, as I'm sure you are aware, is Sasuke's big brother. So let's take some liberties and say that Itachi could absoloutley pass as a blood sibling to Izuna and Madara.

He is however 12, so we're also going to say that the only people who get to make this connection is anyone who's seen the siblings when they were also at a similar age.

On top of that however he has the 'walking amalgamation of all the stereotypes of the main Uchiha house' so anyone who isn't blind will look at him and assume he's somewhere in the sphere of 'important main house person' tho who really knows how distant the relation may be exactly. No one !! That's who !!!

Second; He's the fucking clan heir!! What the fuck!! This bit would have the most impact after all the messy time travel reveals when things have settled down a bit, so it'll sit in the back pocket for a bit. Save it for some fun shaking up later down the line so we don't run out of all the fun reveals too fast and bore the readers, yk?

When it is brought up tho it'd be fun to maybe have some fucky Itachi and Madara mutual understandings of the way things work.

• So. Madara is like a bit of a scary bed time story to Uchiha children, right? Like. "Ooo make sure you don't get too obsessive or fall too deep into your grief and always stay loyal to the village or you'll end up just like Madara!!"

Something something Uchiha-Village relationships are tense as hell, something something Madara fucking over a lot of the clan with his whole. Everything., Something something scapegoat and old stories, something something 'people have probably been talking a lot more about how "god dammit this all started with Madara" in recent years.'

Now with that in mind let's take a look of what our time travelers think of Madara:

Itachi is a good Konoha soldier. Itachi (as has been very much fucking proven) would rather beat a possible problem before it even exists with a hammer till it dies an ugly bloody death than even RISK it blossoming into a proper problem. Itachi does not like Madara. Itachi personally, quietly thinks they should maybe wait till the village is formed then carefully arrange a little accident for him before he goes off the rails. He, even more quietly, maybe even thinks it would be a kindness. Allow him to be remembered well by the village instead of scorned.

Shisui I think is cautiously optimistic about him. He's the kind of guy who gives the benefit of the doubt, who weighs the options, risk and reward, but includes things like hope and compassion in his calculations. Yes, Madara was a uhh. Thing. That happened. But in every story his big blow up always come from one specific event; Izuna's death. So if they stop that from happening, wouldn't it secure both a better future for them and Madara? The history books never went into detail about Izuna, he doesn't know what he's like, but maybe his involvement in the future, on Konoha's side, could lead to even more profits for them long term. At the end of the day he's not against killing Madara (though to be clear, they are at first operating on trying to avoid all interactions with historical events and return home without touching things) but it'd be nice, to manage to get a happy ending for everyone. Unrealistic maybe, but nice.

Mmmm hear me out actually, maybe Shisui, after interacting with him a bit, finds that Madara reminds him of Itachi too. They definatley both have that "I would do unspeakable things to even dream of my loved just one more time" energy, if you know what I mean

Anyways; Kakashi and Tenzo are both neutral on Madara. Yes, they learned about how he betrayed the village when young just like everyone else, but they weren't getting the bed time stories and "do this and you'll end up just like him" warnings like the Uchiha's. They're possibly leaning into negative but are detached from the situation enough to just go "well he hasn't done it yet and his brother is still alive so he won't any time soon" and be done with it

• Now, on the the total opposite side of the spectrum you have Hashirama and Tobirama. People are brought up in Konoha to fucking IDOLIZE these guys. You can not tell me our team of time travelers wouldn't be at least a little awed to speak with them.

I think Tenzo would be the most wide eyed about Hashirama, both for the baseline "holy shit that's the Shodai Hokage" and also that fun juicy mokuton user imposter syndrome he has going on for him. That guys DNA is inside his body!!! Holy shit wait does that mean if someone did a blood relation test with them he might read as being related to him?? Fuck were gonna pocket that for now but like. Mmmmm potential.

I'd say Itachi is the most hesitant about Tobirama but again, village loyalist, so.

You know what tho maybe Shisui is the most hesitant about him (though still largely positive) he both def grew up looking up to him but can also see the anti-Uchiha policies people inact now with the implications that Tobirama would have approved of it. He doesn't know if he would, but like, he has to wonder.

Kakashi is probably the most normal about them (and also has experience in being close to a hokage (Minato) to know that at the end of the day they are painfully human) Don't get me wrong, he's still in some sort of awe! He might get a little lightheaded at the thought of seeing the God of Shinobi in proper battle, or the possibility to see the famed genius of Tobirama with all the different jutsu's he's invented. You can't tell me Kakashi didn't spend a little extra time reading about him when he was trying to make Chidori. Honestly I'm gonna roll with that and say he had a bit of a phase as a kid where he was a total fan boy. Maybe sprinkle in the good old HalfHatake!Tobirama hc to add some faint daydreams a lonley babykashi had after his father's death, about getting to meet him as family. Like cmon, little genius idolizing and projecting on some big history figure only to find out they're actually related? Can you say potential?

Anyways he did eventually grow out of the phase, probably got unattached to it all and lost interest after the whole "losing everything he loved" bit of his life. And at the end of the day, he doesn't have any real complex personal hang ups on the founders like the others do. Thus, most normal.

• And then my favorite most special boy, Izuna !! He's for sure the one they're all most neutral about. He's not actually taught about in the academy? There's probably some throw away line about him in some history books somewhere, but he died young and was quickly buried by the looming shadow of Konoha. The only real knowledge had about him in modern times is just a vague "Yeah he got killed by Tobirama which lead to peace being made but also lead to Madara losing his shit"

Poor Izuna he's the linchpin for it all but was left an unremarkable footnote of history. My boy deserves so much better

Tenzo doesn't actually even know who he is, that boy got bare minimum education under Danzo and Izuna was NOT included.

Itachi and Shisui mmmaybe have some small little fun fact here or there buried in stories from the older members of the clans but like. It's gonna amount to just "yeah he had a great katon" and thats about it.

I WILL SAY HOWEVER. Itachi sees him and instantly is that one PTSD dog meme. Sasuke is a BABY but holy shit Izuna looks exactly like he'd expect him to grow up as and it's making him FEEL THINGS. Also he's so bratty little brother coded !! He's an entire 7 years older than Itachi but Ifachi keeps fucking up and trying to big brother him it's embaressing.

And ofc Itachi didn't go into the first meeting thinking he'd see some weird older mirror version of his beloved baby brother who he misses and worries about very very much. So like. There's for sure going to be some conflict there. If their first meeting is a scuffle (which it probably will be) I think Itachi would keep hesitating to attack. On full run away mode. Which is probably for the best bc he shouldn't try to fight Izuna anyways honey he's like double your bodyweight and you're strong but you aren't THAT strong.

• Pointing back at both the 'Itachi does not like Madara and has quiet thoughts about how it'd possibly be in everyone's interest to just kill him' and the 'Itachi and Madara quietly bond over being clain head/heir during stressful times (w pressure from the elders especially)

I can see 2 outcomes of a potential bonding conversation with them:

1) They come to understand eachother better.

Madara wants to be on good terms, he looks at this kid and sees one of his brothers eyes and the others quiet determination. He can tell Itachi doesn't like him for some reason, and it's frustrating because he doesn't know why. He wants him to like him. He wants to be able to offer his hand and have it taken. It hurts, to be looked at with such suspicion from a face that has traces of Izuna's.

Meanwhile Itachi . . . Itachi looks at Madara and he sees someone who gets it. Gets it like no one ever has. It scares him. He looks up at this man, this horror story he's been told to fear becoming, and he sees himself. And this realization shakes him. It makes him think, makes him wonder. He's so, so sure of his loyalty to Konoha. More sure than he is of anything else in the world. But . . . But if something happened to Sasuke, if he had to choose—

And maybe it softens something in him too, along with the (honestly healthy) dose of fear. It forms a little crack in his shell, just enough to maybe, maybe let Madara through. Just a hair.

Or 2) we pull one of those "The conversation ends with them agreeing verbally but mentally they're on 2 VERY different notes."

Madara, nodding and looking at Itachi meaningfully: "Yeah it can be hard, but all we can really do is try to make the world a safer place for the ones we love. (To create Konoha, to keep my clan safe. Izuna safe. And now to keep you safe too.)

Itachi, nodding slowly: "Yeah. No matter how hard it is (even though I think I understand you more than anyone else Ive ever met) we have to try to make the world a safer place (by killing you in your sleep once Konoha is formed) for the ones we love (My clan. My village. Sasuke.)"

• Also pointing back at the 'Hatake warring clan era reputation,' the 'Tobirama is half Hatake' and also now pointing at Tobirama's title as the White Demon. Small thing but it'd be neat if there was some small throw away line that the nickname lowkey started in part because of the absoloutley terrifying reputation of the Hatake combined with Tobirama's own Everything(tm) like it just had some influence on how some view him. Give me Uchiha's making dog jokes ab him it'll be funny

• Ok but now the actual plot thoughts. Yeah I know I kept you waiting sorry about that.

So time travel! Probably due to a mission gone wrong. Some ruins or some ancient crumbling scroll that wasn't even supposed to do fucking time travel but was so old and corroded that it somehow managed to transform into a whole other seal by pure bad luck. Or good luck I guess, considering it could have just turned into a nuke.

Our favorite team of disasters are very very alarmed !!! What the fuck !!! Obviously they don't default to thinking time travel, but they immediatley know something is wrong. The landscape has changed, though the big landmarks are still there. The mission was complete anyways with no injuries so they just retreat to Konoha. Only oops !! It's not fucking there!!!

Queue alarm.

Shisui is the first one to suggest time travel because he's quirky like that. And there's a very easy way to confirm this theory.

(Also we're going to say that Konoha's location is a valley a few miles out from the Naka River that borders the Senju / Uchiha territories.)

This is convenient because that verification method involves checking in on where Itachi and Shisui know the old Uchiha compound should rest.

They do it in full stealth mode, the second they saw Konoha was missing Kakashi as team leader decided they'd treat the land as enemy territory. They all agreed ofc, for all they knew this WAS enemy territory now.

And, ofc, yeah!! There's the old Uchiha compound!! Being active!!! There are people there!!!

"What are the odds Fugaku-sama decided to have the clan return to their homeland for ahh, cultural enrichment?" Kakashi asked weakly.

"Time travel." Was the only reply he got from Shisui, whispered reverently as the boy vibrated with excitement on the branch.

Itachi just gave him a look, radiating a level of dissaproving disbelief that no normal 12 year old should be able to make. Kakashi would know, he was that not-normal 12 year old once.

At least if shit happens here they have some plausible deniability, being, yk, 2 uchiha's and a senju-passing guy with Mokuton. The specific situations, time given to prepare, potential dirty tricks they could play (I think the Konoha tricks would play a fraction dirtier than the others, who are slightly more used to big open battles vs the ANBU squad who does all sorts of shit in all sorts of places) plus like. Mental state and team ups.

Tenzo or Shisui couldn't take down Izuna or Tobirama but if they teamed up I'd allow it. Kakashi would get his ass kicked by Hashirama or Madara but he could survive a minutes longer than the others would

I love him and he is terrifyingly competent but he won't win 1 on 1 with anyone unless he has some sort of advantage. Minus Shisui and Tenzo who he does have the advantage of regularly fighting, so.

• I think they do get to go back home in the end. It takes a ton of work tho and they probably do need to get Mito's help with it, Kakashi can show them the seal they got brought here with but it's an ACTUAL one in a trillion miracle it didn't fucking atomize them. So it needs a lot of touch ups

He’ll totally adjust fine to the cottagecore life

He’s also a very skilled hunter, so he’s more than willing to bring back a fresh kill for you to cook

He’s also the most invested in nature, if that makes sense; he knows a lot about the native flora and fauna of his area and will always point them out to you if you’re around

It’s not unusual for you to catch him staring out the window at the birds

He doesn’t really like to cook and he doesn’t forage since it’s not something that’s ever interested him, but he has a way with sewing!

He collects patches for his bags and clothes, and he likes to alter and add to his own garments

He’s phenomenal with patchwork and fixing up tears

Never again will you have to be upset about a rip in your favorite dress or a split seam in your best pair of pants!

Brian will have it fixed up like new in no time

pairing. ot7 enhypen x reader + ot 12 treasure x reader genre/warnings. just fluff after fluff after fluff... the part for heeseung/jihoon/yedam might be slightly suggestive but not even that much, not really proofread word count. 1.5k a/n. another reaction/headcannon type post!! i don't know why but i love writing these, they're just really fun and quick to do. if there's one you'd like to see from me feel free to ask! also i just love my 19 boys lmao so i wanted to include all of them at once, pls lmk what u think of this!!!

一 cuddling ; junkyu, jungwon, junghwan

simple explanation for junkyu: he’s lazy and wants to stay in bed, but he also loves you so much that he wants to be as close to you as he can. he’s got that i-want-to-crawl-into-your-skin-but-that’s-not-physically-possible-so-i’ll-settle-for-the-next-best-thing kinda vibe, y’know? so get ready for cuddle sessions that last so long that at some point you forget where your body ends and his begins. jungwon and junghwan, on the other hand, like the possibilities that cuddling brings: they have access to your hair, your face, your back, just whatever they want, basically. they like sleepy conversations about anything and everything and the fact that they can speak really quietly because of how close they are to you. it just makes them really warm inside!

一 playing with their hair ; jake, ni-ki, doyoung, yoshi

puppy line! jake was a no-brainer for this one. he really likes cuddling up to you when napping or watching a movie, and your hand finds its way up to his head and just play with his hair or scratch his head. he loves it far too much and it puts him to sleep like nothing else, but the problem is that he would get so used to it he would start practically pushing his head onto your hand so you’d start doing it… but how could you say no? i can also see something like this calming ni-ki down. if he’s super energetic and running around the room, just thread your hand through his hair and he’ll calm down in one second, it’s just that therapeutic to him. i think he’d also like it if you literally played with his hair, as in if you gave him stupid hair-dos and put a bunch of ribbons in there, he’d just find it funny and it’d also be a good opportunity for him to just stare at your face and without it being creepy. i had a somewhat harder time finding a category for doyoung and yoshi, because they both absolutely love any and every sort of skinship, but i think they fit here. if they really had to choose one form of physical touch, they’d choose this one. they love it especially while cuddling - their head resting in the crook of your neck and you giving them head scratches, maybe telling them about your day or whispering sweet nothings while they drift off to sleep. heaven.

一 holding hands ; sunoo, jeongwoo

ok, these two are for pretty different reasons. i’ve seen this on enhablr, there seems to be a general consensus that sunoo is somewhat the least physically affectionate of the group - not that he doesn’t like it, but he just expresses his love for you differently. if physical touch was really important to you, he’d of course make an effort, but the only thing that really comes naturally to him is holding your hand. whether you’re walking or sitting, maybe watching a movie or just talking, if you don’t need to use them, his hand finds yours as if by instinct. i think he’d also really like it if you wrapped your hands around his upper arm while you walked, i don’t know why but i can just see it. jeongwoo also really loves holding hands, but i see it more as a too-shy-to-do-anything-else thing (i’m really pushing my shy jeongwoo agenda here). he’s just got this vibe of being super loud and obnoxious around his friends and then super shy and blushy and quiet around the person he likes, namely, you. at first, he can barely look you in the eyes, so when he takes your hand in his for the first time, it’s really a step up. even when he starts getting comfortable around you and showing his completely insane side, the habit stays, so you often find your fingers interlocked with his. he’d die inside if you pressed a kiss to the back of his hand, by the way.

一 peppering their face with kisses ; hyunsuk, jaehyuk, haruto

these three LOVE to be babied, i don’t make the rules. they’re so adorable that i feel like whoever dates them would get cute aggression all the time. it may not be as obvious for haruto than for hyunsuk and jaehyuk, but i just know he lets out his cuter side around his s/o, especially if they’re older. he wouldn’t go full on aegyo or anything, he’s not that crazy, but would definitely act sweeter if he knew it would get him affection. if you started kissing him all over his face, he’d pretend he hated it and tell you to stop with a huge smile on his face, so you’d just keep going. i think it’d make him laugh a lot and he’d (not so) secretly love it. hyunsuk and jaehyuk though? they have no shame. baby talk, pouting, whining, they do it all. they’re practically begging for attention even at their grown age, and the more in-their-face the skinship is, the more they like it, so they would absolutely die for something like this. i can also see them loving this in the morning, like if you woke them up like this… can you imagine the sleepy smiles and giggles… i’m gonna go cry in a corner now.

一 back scratches / massages ; jay, mashiho

these two radiate the strongest husband energy from their respective groups and i will die on this hill. not only do they do the cooking and the cleaning, they also check up on you through regular texts, smother you with affection and know exactly what you need and when you need it. the perfect men if those even existed, basically. they’re just always, always taking care of you. they think so much about your well-being that they sometimes forget their own, so when you offer to scratch their back to help them fall asleep or even a full-on back massage, especially if they’ve had a long day, they may burst into tears. or ask you to marry them right then and there. or both. you would probably have to fight jay to stop him from giving you one in return, though. i think mashiho is less mental than that, so he’d just gladly accept it and lay there, smiling contentedly.

一 lazy make-outs ; heeseung, jihoon, yedam

absolute menaces, the three of them. making out is like, their favorite way to hang out. they just can’t help themselves - if you’re around, they’re gonna want to have their lips on yours. and the setting is always so obvious, like a dimly-lit room with chill music playing in the background and a conveniently comfortable bed or couch nearby. yedam would invite you over to his studio, pretending he wanted you around while he worked on his music but actually just wanting to be able to kiss you. heeseung would use that movie you’d talked about as an excuse - the laptop would be discarded in ten minutes, but you wouldn’t complain anyway. to be honest, jihoon wouldn’t even try to come up with an excuse. this man will fuckboy-text you ‘u up?’ months into your relationship and show up at your house at random times of the day and night just cause he wants to make out. i wrote ‘lazy make-outs’ because they all give that chill vibe, cuddling or sitting on his lap, their hands resting on your lower back and your own in their hair or something like that. it could last for hours (with water breaks), they like it that much. they also like the moments when you take pauses and chat for a little bit, then get back to business. it’s all very chill but intimate, and they love the feel of you close to them.

一 literally anything but they’d rather die than tell you that ; asahi, sunghoon my two biases… either i have a type or i am projecting onto these men, we’ll never know! you could do anything to these two, as long as you’re not in public, they’d be completely fine with it. hold their hand, touch their hair, kiss their cheek, spank their butt, punch them in the face, if you’re touching them, they’re happy. they just like knowing that you’re being clingy and trying to get their attention. but they will never, ever tell you that. asahi, because he’s just shy like that and although he loves any crumb of affection from you, he neither knows how to tell you that nor how to reciprocate it. he’s trying, though. a kiss on your forehead from him is like a confession of his undying love for you, and if he back-hugs you, in his mind, you’re practically married. sunghoon, however… is a menace. you being clingy inflates his ego, and he will never not tease you about how much you love him and how needy you’re being, when in reality, if you spend ten minutes without kissing or touching him, he’s scared you’ve already moved on to someone else. sometimes you’ll get tired of his shit and want to ignore him for a little while. don’t do that, you’ll kill him. or worse - you’ll make him initiate the skinship, and the few times it’s happened, he almost didn’t survive it. he’s actually just a little shy, so you learn to put up with him. asahi and sunghoon are so cute anyway that you can look over things like that <3

I think of them every single day (this also turned into a lot of johnigail headcannons)

Modern Marston Family hcs

• Abigail is one of those moms who paints their baby bump as a pumpkin for Halloween

• John went through an emo phase when he was a high schooler. he also got a lot of stick’n’poke tattoos during that phase so he has randomly placed tattoos of wolfs and knifes and other things he thought was cool at the time. his hair was also longer then so he braided it a lot

• Abigail was in foster care when she was a kid but eventually got adopted by an older couple when she was like, eleven

• Abigail was a weird mix of a Lana Del Ray girl and a Katy Perry girl in high school

• John and Abigail met bc Arthur and John were walking Cooper and he got off the leash and he ran away so Arthur and John split up to look for him but Abigail ended up finding him and running into John first and they hit it off

• John will always continue to get stick’n’pokes so that means him and Abigail have each other a lot in the early stages of their relationship

• John only had like two girlfriends before Abigail and they didn’t last that long so when him and Abigail made out for the first time his little brain exploded

• Abigail worked at a gas station and would take smoke breaks but it was really her and John hanging out behind the gas station while he smoked (she’d smoke every once in a while but mostly it would just be him)

• Abigail got a second job as a waitress and John would go to the restaurant at least once a week and would order something expensive and just say to put it on Dutch’s tab and she’d stand there and giggle (Dutch was livid when he found out)

• John took Abigail to see a few horror movies in theaters bc he though she’d get scared and cling to him but she ended up liking them a lot more than he did

• Abigail took some of John’s shirts from his emo phase so now she has a few of those stupid wolf shirts and a few emo band shirts that she’s only ever listened to in John’s car

• John and Abigail “ran away” their first summer of being together -> they went on a little roadtrip and came back after a few weeks bc they were running out of money

• John tried teaching Abigail how to drive stick shift (Hosea had to take over for him bc John kept getting frustrated and John didn’t want Arthur around Abigail)

• John and Abigail would also smoke weed together once in a while

• John couldn’t hold a job when he was younger bc he either didn’t want to show up or would just forget so he’d often pawn things to get money but it went from small things like watches to bigger things like lawnmowers. the one time he got caught it was bc he was buying Abigail a designer bag for her birthday. so he got held in the police department and Miss Grimshaw gave him A Talk about how if he wanted to be good to Abigail, he had to actually had to get a job and keep it

• John did end up getting a job at a smoke shop and after his first few paychecks he took Abigail to a nice restaurant

• ok so Abigail was trying to go to community college but at the time she was getting ready to go she got pregnant with Jack

• Abigail and John did almost end up breaking up after they found out bc they got into a fight but after they cried together and talked to Miss Grimshaw they didn’t

• John was renting an apartment at the time Abigail got pregnant so she moved in with him a few months into her pregnancy. they both knew that eventually they’d have to get a bigger apartment once Jack started getting bigger

• they didn’t pay for daycare so they’d drop Jack off with Tilly or Arthur for a few hours while they worked

• Abigail did get hit with some depression for the first few years when Jack was born bc she was like 18/19, her and John were both working multiple jobs, Jack was a fussy baby and there were so many changes with her body and mind all at once. Ik she was crying when Jack cried bc she didn’t know what to do (in modern and canon)

• John did notice this ofc and tried to get advice from whoever he could. him and Abigail did get into a few fights during like the first year of Jacks life but he would try to take her out on a date night if he had the money and time

• Jack was like, a relatively happy kid. when he was younger, at least. like he had a few friends in pre-k and kindergarten through like fifth grade, but it was only three or four friends. they grew apart a little bit and one of them moved away and then after sixth grade they kind of stopped hanging out altogether. Abigail cried about it.

• I know deep down in my heart that John is a girl dad. I might be delusional abt it but it makes me giggle

• the first time John referred to Abigail as his wife she almost cried

• I think there’s a six year age-gap between Jack and his sister. I think they’d be closer in canon than they are in modern. they also were closer when they were younger

• also by the time Abigail was pregnant with their second kid they could barely afford the apartment so they bought a trailer. they weren’t really happy about it but it was better than being homeless

• but while Jack and his sister were young Abigail took as many pictures as she could and printed them all out and put them in a photo album

• by the time the Marston daughter was born John straightened out a bit more

• like John drinks and smokes in the house but he makes sure that the kids are fed and put to bed before he does

• John was a little bit drunk during one of Jacks birthday parties but he held it together mostly and played with Jack if his head didn’t hurt too bad

• John can’t chaperone field trips though bc he gets pissed off at the teachers

• Jacks first Halloween costume was a dog. Abigail was a cat and John just wore one of his old wolf shirts that barely fit him from his emo phase. they did the same thing for the Marston daughters first Halloween but she was also a cat

• I just know that when the Marston daughter lost her first tooth she was five and it was bc her and Jack were having a pillow fight that she started and he hit her in the face a little too hard and her tooth fell out (it was already loose but it scared both of them)

• John used to secretly really love reading to both the kids so they’d fall asleep and missed it more as they grew up

• and they do end up getting a small house for the four of them when Jack is twelve (like in the game) and that's also when John and Abigail officially get married

• John eventually did get a job at an auto shop but would do like. Uber Eats if he needed to

• Abigail was able to get online classes and gets a job in marketing or something but did make money by crocheting/knitting baby clothes and selling them on Etsy

• the Marston daughter had a biting problem

• she also did soccer in grade school but when she got to middle school and high school she did dog walking and babysitting

• Jack was like 🧍‍♂️shy in his teen years. he wanted to do clubs and stuff but he was just wicked anxious. he did do theater club but he was a stage hand. he was also in a book club for a little bit but the other kids in it were annoying.

• I also know his ass got bullied in middle school. he did get into like. one fight in high school that he somehow managed to win.

• he didn’t have a lot of friends. when some kids would try to talk to him he’d think they were gonna end up bullying him and just wouldn’t respond much to them

• he always ate his lunch in the hallway

• the Marston daughter also doesn’t have a lot of friends but she’s got like, two that’ve stuck with her since first grade. she gained one more when she went into middle school and an additional one in high school. Jack was a little jealous but he did begin hanging out with one of her friends older brother occasionally

• Abigail packed both her kids lunches but stopped for Jack when he was in high school bc he just started taking a bag of chips and like. a juice box with him to school. Abigail would still like to make him lunch but he has protested about it multiple times

• Jack always wanted a treehouse when he was a little kid

• it was Abigail's idea to get Rufus for Jack

• Jack still reads westerns

• the Marston daughter also got bullied in school but was mean back to the bullies

• Abigail doesn't have her own pajamas, she just takes Johns

• Jack got a job mowing his neighbors lawns

• John still gets a little lightheaded when Abigail wears a swimsuit

• when Abigail and John first got together he made a CD for her with a mix of their favorite songs and songs that reminded him of her and she somehow still has it but John cringes a little whenever she plays it

• John and Abigail didn't have a honeymoon immediately after they got married but went on one a few years later out to like, Italy or smthn

• the Marston daughter has a habit of over explaining things and Jack has a habit of explaining almost nothing ever

• Jack always has headphones on or earbuds in

• Jack took a creative writing class and it did help a little bit but he was very anxious for most of the class

• the Marston daughter still has her old Barbie dolls. she doesn't play with them but she just looks at them sometimes

Modern! Mizu& BES Cast Interpretations

Modern Mizu Headcannons! (i type as i think do not expect anything profound)

early childhood:

- Avoids drugs and alcohol in any and all situations. Mama was an addict in early childhood and her obvious neglect lead to bullying as a child

- sword father ran a repair shop/corner store in the neighborhood. mizu would help out in exchange for sanctuary when mama would disappear for weeks at a time.

- mizu knew ‘mama’ wasn’t her real mom, but she stuck with what she had and loved her regardless

- she’d often skip school entirely, much to swordfather’s disapproval and dismay.

- he would not approve of mama

- mama thinks of swordfather as a cheapskate because he wouldn’t pay mizu for her time at his shop. they do not like each other.

- mama eventually overdoses early in Mizu’s life and is taken away in an ambulance. she stays with swordfather but he does not win custody. she is not cared for in the foster system regardless, so she is often in his shop whenever she runs away.

- mama survives, but she does not know this as she does not make an effort to contact mizu in foster care

middle years:

- swordfather puts a large emphasis in education for mizu. he is poor and won’t be around much longer, so he wants her to be able to make it.

- he often forces her to attend despite bullying. he gives her a stern silent treatment if he catches wind of her failing any classes or skipping.

- when she is at home he makes sure she is either studying or working. he cares deeply. they both realize this.

- she does not have friends. the entire school staff knows of her trauma and are uncertain how to approach her or the bullying that erupts.

- she would get in fights more often than not. a ‘troubled youth’. comes across as the scary quiet kid.

- taigen is absolutely in the same boat as mizu, but his father is more well liked and he hides his abuse better. he is a main bully of mizu. they are each other’s punching bag in the school playgrounds.

- the school counselors advise her to join boxing/sports etc, but she is a malnourished, scrawny kid with temper issues and cannot afford lessons.

- she sneaks into the training rooms regardless and weasels her way in once they see her pent up skill and energy.

older (aprox. 18/19)

- senior year of highschool

- has a space in swordfather’s home, though it’s unofficial. the two run the shop together with him as the speaker and mizu the silent do-er. customers find her silent persona and steely demeanor unnerving

- mama reappears. she is skinnier and frailer looking. her teeth are mostly rotted and she looks about ready to break

- mizu is still a mama’s girl .

- she takes care of mama any way she can, much to swordfather’s silent disapproval. mizu is getting ready to attend state uni but mama is a loud and massive distraction from that.

- mizu takes a gap year to fuss over mama’s rehab & medical needs

- through a series of biting remarks and pressure to marry, mama brings home a boyfriend for mizu

- he is older, far older. swordfather is silent for weeks and mizu craves mama’s affection.

- somehow, the two make it work for the course of about a year.

- in the last two months of their relationship, M*kio attempts to gap the bridge in mizu and swordfather’s relationship by helping out around the shop.

- swordfather still disapproves of him and does not speak when he’s around. he is delighted mizu is back, but never says so

- mizu is undoubtedly smart and skilled. she can repair what mikio cannot, write, and solve brilliantly. he is a college drop out and mizu has not yet started.

- he becomes increasingly bitter over time until the two have a massive argument

- by the end, mizu comes home to an empty apartment with all of the money she had saved over the years gone. there is no trace of mama or m*kio.

present day:

- widely regarded as unfairly attractive.

- (those cold ass showers she always takes make her skin and hair flawless)

- secretly has a cute little skincare routine that she hides out of embarrassment from swordfather. she does not use conditioner in the shower.

- is always seen in hand-me-downs. sees no point in luxury items but she somehow always makes grandpa clothes work for her.

- swordfather pesters her to at least own two pairs of smart shoes and a nice shirt for special occasions. she obliges.

- she is smart, but deathly quiet. only nods in understanding and affirmative and only speaks when professors ask her to.

- her voice and demeanor have people thinking she’s a man more often than not. she never bothers to correct anyone.

- she’s actually quite respectful to authority/elders. if an elderly woman stops her on the street she bends down to meet her at eye level and helps her courteously. (carries her groceries, helps her cross the street, etc)

- she is well liked among the elderly.

- taigen is her main academic rival. the only reason he won the scholarship she could’ve got was because of the gap year she took. he often mocks her for this

- while he is part of a fraternity he’s not really a frat boy. a jock? certainly.

- akemi’s father owns the arts and sciences building in a different university. she’s only heard of mizu but hates “him” on taigen’s behalf.

- ringo is a social butterfly. his kind and friendly personality attracts a lot of friends in each class. he’s probably a part of pottery classes or something, artistic and a chef. he makes quick friends with mizu by his persistency, and mizu doesn’t have any friends besides him.

- she is often seen following him around, silent and deadly looking. “ringo’s scary friend”
