- Skilled Hamon users know that silver horseshoes are the best conductor- Lucky is not one of those ponies

- Centaurs aren’t directly weak to sunlight, in this version of events the Hamon techniques used against them are just harmful in general and are able to counter their magic

- The Red Stone of Aja is a known artifact in Equestria (as a powerful conduit for magic), the centaurs wanted to seize it and use it together with the power of the rising sun (celestian magic again) and become ultra-powerful, taking over Equestria overnight, but their shenanigans didn’t go unnoticed and they ended up being defeated by the Pillars (Starswirl’s gang) ironically enough

- Santana, Eisidisi and Wamuu end up being sent to Tartarus. Still alive technically, just extremely weakened

- About Kars’ defeat: back when Luna was banished, the magic from the Elements and Celestia combined was so strong that it left small traces of that spell, which was conducted trough the RSoA. also something something last hamon something something friendship is magic

I love BJD and am a sucker for a blind box but so far have had some pretty poor luck with bling box BJD.

When I consider risking it on a blind box BJD I look at what’s available in the set. If there is a higher chance I’ll get something I do like rather than something I don’t, I’ll order one.

I like all but two of these, as I actively dislike black and white, and black and red, and the black and white one is the rare so my chances of getting one I like are high!

Of course I got the black and red one (Street Skater).

I have ordered 4 blind box BJD all together and 3 have been red and black. The only time I didn’t get the red one was when the red one was the ultra rare. That time I got blue.

Ugh!

Despite being black and red and thus a huge disappointment, I like the doll quite a lot. I may go to the effort of sanding off the headband which is part of her face sculpt, or might just repaint it.

That little bandage is so cute.

I did have to install her ears and they popped in a lot more easily than the little Penny’s Box Antu centaurs’ tails do.

My Street Skater has two right upper arms. Despite that she poses well enough.

Though she cannot sit up straight. Her hip wells aren’t deep enough in the front. Her head’s so heavy that it pulls her over anyway.

She does have ratcheting knees which hold a pose well, and a rotational cut joint in the thigh.

The eyes are interesting... Instead of individual eyes she has an eye panel with printed irises.

Granted the other 3 dolls I have in this scale and style have painted eyes.

Her eyes are deeply set which gives them a little bit of a follow-me effect. Though the irises sort of follow the viewer, she never looks like she’s looking at you except from the front.

I haven’t even tried to dress her in this because it’s not my style at all.

I HAVE ordered another one, though. Out of all of them so far, Bonnie is the first that I’ve ordered a second of.

I do rather like her.

I feel that nagas, centaurs, and dragons don’t get nearly as much attention as they should with romance stories.

(I know that @momolady has written a bunch of nagas and centaurs so check out her page in case you missed some)

I'll add them to my list, but I'll be honest, none of them is a particular favourite of mine either. It depends on the character I come up with though.

Speaking of... (warning: very brief/passing mention of the death of platonic partner and of grief at the very end of this headcanon/story idea, in the paragraph beginning "Anyway,").

I've had the idea for a high fantasy story knocking around my head for a while, featuring a messenger team of centaur and rider - in my headcanon for centaurs (in any setting, not just this one), it's considered a Big Deal to let someone sit on their back, let alone put them in any kind of tack or harness, and it's either done as a sign of trust, or it's something done against the centaur's will. Ultra traditional herds and families still think it's degrading to let someone ride them like a common horse, but others think it's ok in certain circumstances.

Anyway, the Royal Messenger Corps is made up of a centaur and a rider (not necessarily a human rider since there are other species, but it has to be someone who could easily ride a centaur), and the pair are usually paired up for their entire career, after a trial period. The partnership doesn't have to be romantic, there's just a deep level of trust between them, but some partnerships are romantic (it's relatively rare, but not discouraged).

The function of the rider is essentially to act as security for the centaur, who is the actual messenger, and to go where perhaps a centaur may not be able to access. Often the rider will be armed with ranged weapons, or might be a mage. The kinds of build the centaurs have does vary, though usually they are light and fast (Thoroughbred/Arab/Anglo-Arab/Akhal-Teke/Andalusian equivalents in our horse breeds, for example).

If a partner is forced to retire or is killed, the centaur is under no obligation to take a new rider, and they can retire with a stipend from the Corps, and the same for the rider. They can, however, choose to try a new rider, or find another role within the Corps should they wish it.

Anyway, the idea I had was that the reader is human, and joins the messenger corps as a raw recruit. They're a bit of a missfit for some reason, and don't take to their first couple of centaurs for one reason or another. Nothing antagonistic, they just don't click as life-career-partners. Until... the reader is speculatively paired up with a centaur who is a hothead and a dangerous risk-taker, has relatively recently lost their rider. He's thoughtless, hurting, and frequently puts his riders at risk with his actions on his runs, and the Corps is about to forcibly retire him, but the reader is given a shot at it...

Shenannigans and romance? ensue...

I've had that idea knockind around my brain for a couple of years, but I've never actually sat down and figured it all out. There's a bit more to it than that, but those are the bare bones at least. Lemme know if you like the sound of it!

Posting this entirely because I love the whole thing...Q's reaction...what the letter contains. Wanted to read it again this morn.

The envelopes were thick and made of the coarse bleached-white paper the centaurs made. On the first his name was written in an elegant calligraphic handwriting that Quentin recognized as Eliot’s. His vision swam; he had to sit down.

Inside it was a note. It was rolled around the flattened, dehydrated remains of what was once a single Merit Ultra Light cigarette, and it read as follows:

Dear Q,

Hell of a thing, getting you out of that dungeon. Richard showed up, finally, for which I suppose we should be grateful, though G-d knows he doesn’t make it easy.

We wanted to stay, Q, but it was hard, and getting harder every day. The centaurs said it wasn’t working. But if you’re reading this then you woke up after all. I’m sorry about everything. I know you are too. I know I said I didn’t need a family to become who I was supposed to be, but it turned out that I did. And it was you.

We’ll meet again.

I'm reading the chapter as I type this and oh boy Harry is the biggest threat and Dumbles over here is just like, "no no, he's just a kid, I'm overreacting *glances at Tom*". I love how stupid and smart that old ginger can be. Anyway I was just wondering if you could tell us the opinions of what magical creatures think of Harry? We know the ghosts and centaurs, but when Albus mentioned the restless activity of the OTHER creatures I just had to know!!! So maybe some opinions from the House Elves and Mermaids? If you're feeling kind of course!!!

Dumbledore looking between Tom, who’s just a regular asshole at this point, and Harry, who is literally haunted by the manifestation of Death and is very clearly Not Right, and thinking Tom is the issue is right in character for him, me thinks 😂

As for magical creatures - I think it’s just safe to assume that all of them are a little freaked out by him. Some are more adverse than others (i.e., ghosts, shades, dementors, vampires, other spirit-related ones, etc.), while most are just mildly uncomfortable around him and treading very respectfully (i.e., the centaurs, merpeople and house-elves).

Harry pings in their senses as Something Dangerous - which doesn’t always mean bad. It’s just an awareness that something close to them could kill them.

Some don’t even identify him as the MOD immediately (i.e., wizards and witches), and they’re the ones that are ultra cautious. They know he’s something, they just don’t know what.

KAIJUMORPHA AU OVERVIEW:

what is the au about and what are kaijumorphs?

Kaijumorpha au is an anthological Alternate universe that is primarily based on creature features, folklore, and me brainrotting over creature aus. The main central point of the au are those called kaijumorphs, humans with monstrous or pokemon like traits, that have been as old as when humans have been around in the pokemon universe.

In the Au, kaijumorphs can come in three different forms, these being demihumans, werebeasts, and Therus(working on the name).

Demihumans humans with Pokémon-like traits that are based on the type the person has birth (like dragon types having draconic/dinosaurian features and flying types having feathers or a patagium.)

( for example, my sada design.)

the next are werebeasts, and as their names imply, they are humans who can transform into a more monstrous version of an animal/Pokémon if given certain stimuli (the moon, sun, fight or flight etc). the amount of Sapience someone had in their werebeast form is based how many times the person has been used to the form (like the first few times, the person is nothing more than a feral beast but a few more times they become used to it).

I don’t have a picture for this but think of the werebeasts from the sonic freaks au as an example.

The final category of these kaijumorphs are the mythical Therus. mostly bestial beings considered to be the “legendaries” among both humans and animals (oh yeah, animals exist in the au btw). This group are most than not, artificially created via either human hubris or fusing human and pokemon. Therus are able to transform back into humans, but it takes considerable energy on the Therus and many of them (mostly unnaturally created ones) are unable to know how to turn back into humans.

The main stories

the main stories within the kaijumorpha au include (and tldr)

“child of the golden phoenix” (Johto games and Ethan being ho-oh’s parent and has a shoenn vibe.)

“emeralds under the delta sky” (Pokemon emerald/Oras fusion but Brendan is the biological son of Archie and Maxie)

“Tales of platinum borea” (pokemon platinum with a more ghibli vibe and Cyrus is actually a polar sauropod)

“scars of black and white” (Unova games but I draw HEAVY inspiration from the manga and FMA)

“crossed and splitting paths” (XY but It has a better story and I made Calem a centaur.)

“Eclipse at the edge of the horizon” (how absolutely powerful can I make the Elio/Selene in here? Oh I know! “Gives them kaiju forms that fistfight ultra necrozma)

“Fenrir’s chosen wolves” (Scottish werewolf twins fistfight eternatus and the armor dogs are ancient werewolves.)

“bonds forged in scarlet” (“how much found family can I put into Scatlet?”)

“power always comes at a price” (the Kieran story)

“Hisui’s boreal Titan” (Cyrus gets sent to hisui alongside Lucas and meet akari who is actually a clone created by Arceus)

My Dm just gifted me the 5e Monster manual for when I started running campaigns again, and it made me think.

What do you think are some common non-pc race crushes that most human adventurers would have?

My bet is on something charismatic like a Rakshasa

Side note, how was your new years?

I went to flip through the monster manual to jog my memory.

Okay, so the most common would probably be the "human" looking ones with cool features, aka angels like devas and solars. In a world of dnd, i feel like they'd be the most socially acceptable ones.

The most common but considered problematic to admit it in public would be the same but with fiends like cambions or succubus/incubus demons. Some small sub-group likes the less humaniod fiends, but people never count them.

Also I had a tiger plushie as a child that was twice my size, I would always bring it with me and sleep besides it. If kid me ever saw a rakasha in the streets, I would've ran up to them and hugged their leg.

I think all animal based races would be loved by humans but maybe in a condcending way. Look at ancient fables and furries, humans always had a thing for humaniod animals.

They'd make bank at children birthday parties tho if they ever looked over the human condescension. I know I would've screamed my parents' ears off to invite a rakasha to my birthday party if I had known this was a possibility.

There is also a group of non-playable characters that humans would fawn and obsess over but in a platonic way? Like just adore their beauty. Examples are pixies, unicorns, pegsuses, satyr, will-o-wisp, androsphinx and gynosphinx, faerie dragons, and dryads.

You'd definitely see a post or two about these races trending on social media every other week. Like twitter's "white boy of the month," except it's the blandest pixie you've ever seen with an aftershave shadow and in boxers, still the humans are obsessing over them.

Peguses and unicorns would have like ultra hardcore horsegirls fans.

Now, me personally? I would make it my life mission to meet a centaur. You know why, we all know why. I'm willing to risk it all. I'd suck up to an elf who would introduce me to the centaur tribe their city trades with and then my plan will be set into motion.

And I am doing humanity a favour! We will finally find out what a half centaur looks like.

Mimicks would be a niche interest with cult followings for some, doppelgangers and changelings too.

I think kobolds would end up being loved by humans more than actual dragons, which would piss off the said dragons when a kobold wins a scales beauty contest.

I think no matter the charisma of a race is, humans will sadly only judge them based on their looks. As a society we tend to be vain, even with pets. We only keep the cute or cool looking ones.

People who keep rats or mice still get hate comments under pictures of their pets. A lot of exotic pets we keep will kill us if given the chance, but we still keep them because of how cool they look.

But I think there will be humans who will see beyond looks, I mean, look at you. You have clear love for the gith race even when most of dnd players don't care about them or just see them as ugly. You saw beyond the exterior and found something beautiful, even then you still considered the exterior as beautiful.

For me, I actually hate pointy ears. I don't think i will ever be able to look at an elf irl without feeling nauseous. They're pretty, but god, the pointy ears really make me feel so off. And so many races have them too. Still I keep writing about them because they are a part of them that should be celebrated despite my personal opinions.

For gith, they feel different because they're not human skin coloured, you know? Like the ears don't feel off. But with elves, i can see the flesh and the blood veins, and oh my god, get away from me.

And I hope you have fun with the campaign you'll eventually start! Tell me any funny stories or moments that happen.

My new years went well. I made a flower crown and watched the fireworks. I baked cakes in the morning and made creme caramel with fruit toppings and chocolate covered strawberries. Mostly spent it home watching movies with my family. I hope yours went well, too <3

Larger-than-average non-AU Toa Team (I had to turn off Tumblr’s post-making beta so I could have more than 10 images), with masks from that one Studio parts pack I’m currently obsessed with and also doing some cool stuff with different body-styles and proportions, but more than normal.

The Forest Warrior (Plantlife/The Green), wielder of the Lifesteel Boots, which she uses in conjunction with her village’s traditional martial arts oh and also the pattern on her armour is supposed to evoke the look of an outfit consisting of a tank top, fingerless gloves and tight-fitting leggings; I like giving Toa colour patterns that look like clothes. Her mask is the Proto Pohatu mask.

The Treasure Hunter (Stone), wielder of the Talon Pincers. His mask is the Kanohi Darao.

The Charging Storm (Lightning), wielder of the Thunder Sword and is also a badass centaur lady. Her mask is the Kanohi Har (comic version).

The Blind Paladin (Light), wielder of the Photon Blade also they’re tall AF. Their mask is the Kanohi Vanta.

The Towering Enigma (Ice), wielder of the Subzero Claws also he’s got a “mysterious saviour” dynamic for his village, hiding in the nearby forest and watching over them, only appearing when his help is needed. His mask is the Kanohi Chu-r which he uses to gather wood; he then places it outside the Turaga’s hut at night.

The Sea Serpent (Water), wielder of the Algae Blade and she’s also a snake. Her mask is a Mahiki, fashioned from the faceplate of an Illusion Rahkshi.

The Reclusive Inventor (Earth), wielder of the Tech Gauntlet. Their mask is the Kanohi Ruung.

The Treetop Swinger (Air), wielder of the Tail Axe and a certified long girl. Her mask is the Kanohi Ui.

The Tribute to Legends (Fire), wielder of the Blaze Sword and certified Ussal dad. His mask is the VNOG Calix also his crab is called Meeku.

The Walking Armoury (Iron), former wielder of the ultra-saw and current wielder of a sick robotic body full of guns. His mask is the prototype Volitak which he rigged with assorted lasers and sights. Also yes I know he looks like Pohatu, I couldn’t be bothered to make a more gun-filled design.

The Star-Hunter (Plasma), wielder of the Plasma Blaster and Samus expy. Her mask is the Kanohi Baukbaw.

The Mercenary Mentalist (Psionics), wielder of the Thought Claw. His mask is the variant Miru.
