Wanted to do a lil crossover between my bjd doll and most of the papercrafts I have designed lately! She, starchild, was one of the very first projects I worked on regarding figurine-modeling since 2 years ago approximately. She has so many friends (and frienemies) now!
And on another note I feel very proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. I never could’ve imagined to end up making all of these fellas in a short period of time, or doing all of this papercraft series thing at all! Papercrafts were a whole new opportunity for me to make figurines without taking much time and also be able to share them with other people. I’ll surely continue working with them alongside my other projects that of course include modeling bjds too (and many other cool stuff ;]). Thanks for all the kind comments on my papercrafts and thanks to the people who have built them as well, love to see people have their blorbos accompanying them irl! 💕

i'm not deeply into sewing, so i usually sculpt dolls that i can display naked without them looking like they even need clothes. but my orc girl required an outfit, and i ended up having fun making it.
working rope into doll outfits is my favorite thing to do, though it can be a little bit challenging on a body that is 25cm tall, slippery, and has zero softness. also added some straps & buckles this time to go with her vibe. she will have a more elaborate cyberpunk photoshoot later, but here's some quick shots for now.

NIcolai recently got a new fullset and a new wig! I actually was always pretty sceptical about lacefront wogs, but this one? Chefs kiss. It fits him perfectly.

(Miniature) couch restoration
I found this couch ( with a bunch of other things I didn't care about) for 2$ at a second hand store
Finding dollhouse miniatures is kind of rare around here so I grabbed it, I thought at worst it would be a cheap MDF off of AliExpress or something and I could repaint it, but once I scraped a bit of the paint off I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice wood finish!
There was at least 3 to 4 layers of paint through (‘◉⌓◉’) (white, gray, maybe white again and finally pink)
Out of curiosity I pried up the fabric which was obviously not the original, to find another unoriginal fabric and pried that up too and that was still not the original 🤣 matroshka doll of upholstery
After huffing 99% alcohol and paint brush cleaner for probably 5 or so hours I ended up with this
I left the back and seat of the couch rough as it would be covered in fabric anyway, it looks like that maybe at some point this got sanded in a few spots? I fixed it up by finally using my furniture repair markers as intended (mostly I don't think they had mini furniture in mind)
You can see on the left half where I tried different colours to see what would match best
Now new upholstery! I only had the original couch cushion seat so I decided to just redo the whole thing in silk of corse (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧
I wanted it to look a little worn so I picked this really textured blueish green/cream dupini silk
From barbie would be embarrassed to have this in her house to Victorian centerpiece! Or well I would like to think so ;;;

My grandma just died and left behind an abundance of sewing, knitting, and beading supplies. My dad made a pile of everything for me to go through since he knows I’m crafty. Its all such nice stuff. Really, intimidatingly nice stuff. Genuine velvet, silk, mohair and even mink. Its all beautiful, and I have mixed feelings about using it for dolls. I wonder what she would’ve thought; would she think it’s a waste of good materials? Or appreciate the artistry? I don’t know, I never told her about my dolls or my crafting. I wish I did. I think she’d at the very least be glad it’s not getting tossed. I hope she’d be happy I followed in her creative footsteps, even if it is just for dolls.
