HELLO this ask has been sitting in my inbox since january sorry..its mostly bc i have sooo many things 2 talk about and i wasnt sure what i wanted 2 say in this answer but whatever im just gonna ramble SO!!! U get a bunch of random hcs and maybe thematic analysis yippee!! and thank u soo much for the kind words :]
imo all the kjs have some form of body focused repetitive behavior because this is my world and i do what i want.. poison and ghoul have dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking), and kobra and jet have trich (hair pulling) maybe. I think constantly being on the run + adrenaline highs and lows would lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms for all of them and desert living leads 2 pretty shit skin (poison+kobra have at least had bad acne for sure) which is conducive to skin picking..i think the venom siblings and ghoul are bat city runaways too so the withdrawal from bli pills (+shakes and sweats) contributed to them developing bfrbs.
ghoul also gets really bad shakes and jitters from withdrawal, so when it gets so bad that they can’t work on their explosives he blasts mad gear as loud as it can from its speakers and lets himself scream all the frustration out.
also ghoul definitely has hearing loss from bomb detonation in too close proximity. tell me it would know abt proper hearing protection safety protocols with a straight face its impossible.
kobra was born w microform cleft lip, which means he has a little deformity/groove in his upper lip kind of similar to a snake’s . also he broke his nose at some point and it healed wrong so crooked nosebridge↴
both jet and kobra are prone to migraines bc of eye strain and sensitivity (jet is nearly fully blind in his right eye and both kobras eyes are extremely sensitive to light, hence the sunglasses).
sometimes when the migraines are too much they both lie down in the trans am seats together at night and close their eyes and breathe in the dark
prior to jets eye injury they were the teams best marksman, and im not sure yet how greatly that changes after they lose depth perception, but one thing i like to believe is that jet is also a great sniper (stereoscopic vision due to retinal disparity is also only effective up til about 30 meters too so he wouldnt need to rely on binocular vision for that), so maybe they focuse on that skill post-injury. how i picture their scar ↴
this is so long already but 1 last thing more in a thematic analysis vein: i need ppls opinions on the girl and her story PLEASE. she has so little agency in the canon narrative but . Where r the girlposters around here i need to hear others thoughts on her guilt complex from the fab 4s sacrifice and her running away from her own role as the protagonist of a story she never wanted 2 be part of and her blowing up the city that killed her family and whether or not that alleviated her neuroses and brought catharsis or not and her characterisation as a literal bomb and destructive force even though shes just a kid and ughhh. Linking this girl post i made a while ago w an anne carson quote that makes me crazy ANYWAYS. Talk 2 me about her. Im begging.

Evidence for Raine being a traitor:
A lot of shots of them looking guilty this episode. Like. A lot
Canonically a good liar, has fooled Eda before
Was the one to suggest that Eda get a sigil
Could be being blackmailed by Terra or Belos
Could be being brainwashed after all
Evidence against Raine being a traitor:
No <3 I simply refuse to believe it
The guilty looks are easily explained as them feeling bad for endangering Eda’s safety
They know the draining spell is going to kill everyone, I doubt they’d be stupid enough to take any offers of keeping Eda safe or whatever from Terra or Belos
Judging by their actions in both this episode and Eda’s Requiem, they put the success of the rebellion above everything, even (reluctantly) Eda’s safety
We as a fandom have been here before. Many fans were suspicious of Raine before Eda’s Requiem aired — it was unfounded then and I bet it’s unfounded now
That might be too many twists for one character’s loyalties. Put some back
Darius
Evidence for Darius being a traitor:
Was the one featured in the ep where the possibly-foreshadowing “coven heads betray each other all the time” line was said
Knew and clearly admired Hunter’s predecessor — perhaps he thought that predecessor was loyal to the emperor and so…?
Evidence against Darius being a traitor:
I pulled that possible motivation directly out of my ass
Seems more likely that the previous Golden Guard is part of the reason he’s rebelling
We just had the twist of him being a rebel, it would be weird for the next twist to be “LMAO jk no he’s not”
Seems to genuinely care for Hunter and Raine
Eberwolf
Evidence for Eberwolf being a traitor:
Honestly if there IS a spy I think Eber’s the most likely candidate
We know very little about Eberwolf in general — their motivations are a mystery
While a semi-big deal was made out of Darius being a rebel, Eber has just kinda been in the background. It feels suspicious
Coven Head, so the “coven heads betray each other all the time” would work as foreshadowing

Bad Batch Headcanons - Skin Conditions
I’ve had this on my mind for way too long now and I NEED to write it down.
For context: I think that their mutations and “enhancements” had some side effects and actually made them more sensitive or gave them some other issues, this is one of many. Maybe Regs have to deal with this too, but I’m running with the Bad Batch for now.

Hunter
first of all - he has like the most sensitive skin ever
I’m talking unscented, only natural ingredients, ph-neutral, everything you can imagine
soap made from ash, lime and oil, like, really specific and gentle shit
but on the other hand worst mixed skin ever, goes from crazy oily to dryer than Tatooine at least once a week
he’s either looking like a glazed donut or a shedding lizard
he’d straight up put cooking oil on his face bc “oil is good for dry skin, right?
someone tell this man how to take care of himself istg
bandana hides his greasy roots
bandana may be tied in different styles to hide his dandruff
he‘s highkey insecure about it
he‘s shedding like a dog, his hair is everywhere
in the shower, on the bed sheets, in the food if he cooks
if he ever shaves, doesn’t matter where or how he’s getting the worst razor burn and ingrown hairs ever
he’s getting all the issues
also, a big candidate for body acne?
he gives me back acne vibes
doesn’t wash his bedsheets or towel nearly often enough
they actually all (accidentally?) share a towel and never wash it, I’m convinced

his skin is dry af like, eczema / neurodermitis / psoriasis dry

and around his eyes, especially because of his goggles/glasses, but also in the corners
he researched everything but sometimes just can’t help it and almost scratches his skin off

so much acne but dry af skin, it's hard to combat

he's actually one big hangnail

After lurking in the Rise fandom for the past 9 months, I'm FINALLY getting around to posting some art.
Humanized turtles to tide me over until I figure out how to actually draw turtles lol

++Some notes about their designs under the cut
I personally see them as blasian
I'm not the best at outfit design lol, but I tried to think of what accessories they'd have, eg. Raph and Leo's earrings and necklaces (and Donnie's pierced ears), Mikey's stickers from the show, Raph's beads (living vicariously through him), etc.
Also added Raph's braces from the show
Leo has port wine stains (which I forgot to add to his arms oops), Mikey has freckles, and Donnie has some acne scars
Raph has scabs around his mouth and arms bc I hc him as having dermatillomania/excoriation/skin picking disorder (I'm projecting onto my fav, more at 7)
Leo and Mikey def bleach and dye each other's hair
I also had a blast incorporating their signature shapes into the designs wherever I could (face nose and eye shape, etc)
These are a little old, and I'd like to draw more of them to get a full design down, but I just wanted to share a piece of my brainrot with this fandom, I have never been more obsessed with a piece of media as I am with Rise asdfghjkl

every time i look into what treatment for dermatillomania would look like, half of it is a list of medication groups that I've been on at different points in my life bc of different issues (antidepressants, anti-anxieties, anti-convulsants, anti-psychotics) that never impacted my skin picking and it drives me a little nuts bc i fail to see how these medications are supposed to stop something like excessive and compulsive skin picking. it's also mildly amusing to me how every website tells you to never self diagnose this condition, as if it isn't extremely obvious after 20 years of picking my fingers until they're raw and bleeding with open sores, only to keep picking them even after they're at that point. as if it isn't obvious after my doctor had to put me on a prescription acne cream medication as a young teenager (that i still have to use to this day) bc every time i had a pimple i would pick holes in my face that have left scars to this day. but yeah sure, i need a medical professional to tell me something i already know. and how much would that official diagnosis cost me?
anyways, all this to say I'm tired. I'm tired of this. i have vivid memories of doing this shit to myself as early as preschool. i used to scratch my scalp and the shells of my ears raw so that scabs would form and then I'd pick those. I'd wake up with my hair caked in blood after picking and scratching while falling asleep. one day in 2nd grade i scratched the side of my foot raw and wearing shoes was agony but i was too ashamed to tell anyone, so i let my socks get socked in blood for days. my fingers are always always always bleeding. I'm ashamed to ever get manicures with my mom bc the few times i tried, the nail techs berated me for the state of my hands and made me cry. I've had to spend my whole life with friends and family and even just strangers telling me how much i gross them out, and randomly yelling at me "stop picking!", much to my absolutely mortification and shame. how do you stop something that you've been doing for almost the entirety of your life? it feels so hopeless.

You know what’s funny? All this stupid fucking. and I’m not even growing, my knowledge about photography and layout design is the exact fucking same as last semester. Fashion studio, all that work? Nothing. Katie came into this semester with the exact same amount of sewing knowledge as me—- started studio 2 weeks late— picked the most difficult pattern and learned to sew it ON THE FLY as she made the dress. I did. Nothing. She’s come out someone with a knowledge of sewing and patterns and all that I want to learn and I did. Nothing. You know why I didn’t pick the stupid fucking sewing project? Because I was boo boo fucking scared, oh no what if I’m unable to sew! Oh no! Boo fucking hoo she went out and did it and all I did was tell her that she had the choice to not do it whenever she encountered AND eventually cleared an obstacle in her process.
I’m not only a stupid fucking person with no technical skill or ability I’m also a horrible fucking person. Riya got her first internship after the first fucking semester after being accepted to a design program at one of the best universities in the world with a full scholarship while she had a fraction of the resources and experience that I did. Shreeya was accepted to bits Pilani and chose not to go bc of the fees, Katie was accepted to RISD and didn’t go hc of the fees and has nearly a twice as large scholarship to parsons. zann has had way more problems in life than I have, like actual problems not just "oh no! my computers slow!" and she's way better than me, she studied at interlochen, had experience working with design and art before I ever started work on my stupid fucking portfolio that I took a gap year for. It took me a WHOLE GAP YEAR TO MAKE A MEDIOCRE PORTFOLIO RHAT GOT ME A MEDIOCRE SCHOLARSJIP INTO A SCHOOL I DIDNT EVEN HAVE ON MY TOP FUCKING THREE.
Last semester I was the only one who didn’t finish the time class final and I chose to not go to critique and pretended I didn’t wake up bc I didn’t want to face my class knowing that I took up a large project knowing damn well it was a challenge and confidently told the prof I could pull it off then failed due to my own shortcomings.
My grades in 10th were mediocre my grades in 12th were bad and I wasn’t even good enough in the prelimsries to get into CS and was only let it after submitting a special request following the final results which only met the intake by a THIN amount
my skin is full of acne scars and blackheads because I never took care of it my teeth cost my dad several Lakhs because I wasn’t even able to wear a fucking retainer regularly and I STILL don’t and I STILL can’t do the bare minimum of brushing properly and my tooth look like actual shit.

I can’t talk to people and didn’t have a single friend until 6th and after that still couldn’t talk to anyone except them, I made friends during the pandemic and you know what!!! I’m still FUCKING AWKWARD AROUND THEM!!!’ I CANT TALK TO THE PRIPLE I TRUST THE MOST !!!!! WHATS THE FUCKING POINT!!!!!!

I’m pathetic and can’t even do the most basic things in life and all I’ve done for the past 5-7 years I’d be mediocre and waste my family’s money. Im pathetic. I’m stupid. Im ugly. I’m incapable of even keeping my room SOMEWHAT clean let alone keeping myself looking attractive. And now I’m here in college wasting more of my parents’ money while continuing to be mediocre and stupid.
I deserve to die and everyone in my life deserves so much better than me. I don’t know how many of my friends talk and hang out with me out of obligation and bc it’s like I’m almost forcing them and how many even actyally want to and if they don’t I can’t even blame them because I wouldn’t hang out with me either! I’m everything I hate and more and I keep pretending otherwise in hopes that the people I love wouldn’t leave me.

Tw for blood and acne mention but this is so gross yet fascinating to me 😭 I need to research it honestly but I have cystic acne, I'm going to be 20 this year and it's only just starting to clear up, and that's mostly because I have a consistent skincare routine. It's not the worst case in the world but it's left scarring across my face, arms, back etc and is regularly irritating and distracting. I am also in the process of self diagnosing with autism, though I am planning in future to get an official test and examination done in order to get educational and financial benefits while I'm a student and in order to understand myself better, and one of the stims I believe I have is skin picking (if its not a stim it's def an anxiety thing to relieve tension lol) so any bump or vaguely spot/blackhead like mark on my skin gets squeezed, picked at, or scratched until its red or bleeding and I do this subconsciously while I'm anxious or focusing on something else (lichrally just caught myself doing it while writing this post helpppp 😭). Sometimes I get a particularly large cystic spot that I pop without question, usually on my back/shoulders but also sometimes on my face, and usually after popping it it either goes away, scars, or forms a second smaller cyst that's just filled with blood. It's really gross but not painful or sensitive like the previous cyst and if I pop it, it will bleed then eventually heal and leave a darkish scar. I can't remember getting a large acne cyst on my right cheek anytime recently but I must have squeezed something in a way my skin wasn't happy with bc about a week ago I noticed one of these blood-filled cysts was forming. It was fairly deep under the skin but you could see a purplish shadow and it was slightly swollen. It became more swollen over a few days and when I poked it it felt squishy and I became convinced that if I left it it would not heal but fill up more and cause a huge lump to appear on my face. So I started picking at it by scratching the skin and gently squeezing and did this whenever I was distracted. About an hour ago(?) I peeled off some dry skin from around the area that had probably been loosened by the scratching and was watching tiktoks while picking, when I popped it. Literally was doing it so subconsciously that I was surprised by my hand being suddenly splattered with blood.. and the feeling of blood dripping down my face. I mean.... it was kinda satisfying but also gross as hell so I got a tissue and wiped up the blood, and tried to gently squeeze as much out as I could so it wouldn't actively bleed. I've now covered that tissue w my blood and put a plaster on my face but like... its so crazy to me that my body just does that. It just makes a pouch in my skin that it fills w the stuff that keeps me alive for seemingly no reason??? But anyways I'm now scared that I'm gonna have a dark scar abt 5mm wide in the middle of my cheek 😔 it will probably happen but luckily I've got a really good barrier repair cream (la Roche posay's cicaplast balm) that gets rid of acne scarring, and when I get payed i might get The Ordinary's rose hip oil which has retinol, which both repairs and brightens skin. I'd use vitamin C but it always has a really bad reaction with my skin, causing burning and breakouts so uhhhh yea. Anyways rant over gn <3

i KNOW that having perfectly clear, unblemished, completely even toned skin is Entirely unattainable and nearly all pictures we see of ppl who have skin like that have either been photoshopped/face tuned to hell and back and/or theyve gotten major work done on their faces/use vvv expensive skin care products that the average person cant buy, but goddamn it if i dont want skin like that :/
#i have literally Never had clear skin. never.#ive had dermatillomania my entire life and ive always had scars/marks on my skin bc of it and a lot of them are on my face#bc i have acne prone skin which is bad enough on its own but with dermatillomania its Worse bc its just easy to#feed into that compulsion when you have things to pick/scratch/itch/what have you at :/#on Top of that i have rosacea which a) causes my skin to appear vvv red (esp. on my cheeks) and b) can cause acne on the#affected areas which - you fucking guessed it - gives me acne on my already naturally acne prone skin!!!#i also have eczema/psoriasis/extremely dry/very oily/vvv sensitive skin so theres really not a whole lot that i can use#to combat any one thing. things for rosacea are usually vvv expensive so theyre not an option. things for eczema or psoriasis#arent usually very good for dry skin bc they moisturize your skin too much whereas things for oily skin dry my skin out.#and most things for sensitive skin just Dont Work on me for w/e reason.#like honestly what the FUCK. why do i need like 6 different skin issues. one thing would be bad enough but this many??#i would readily accept death </3#like i dont wear makeup. i clean my face. i drink a lot of water. what else can i DO#im just tired of looking at my skin and wanting to cry. literally im so over this.#i just =_=#anni.txt

wait can you drop your best acne prone skin tips i am Struggling.
warning long post ahead
i can!! but take it all w a grain of salt and know that everything works differently on other folks. also im not a dermatologist or a skincare professional or anything this is just my experience of having acne prone skin - and for reference my skin is dry, acne prone, and a bit sensitive. which is. an annoying combo. but!
okay so first unless you are a teen and going through puberty, a lot of acne likely comes from your diet. dairy, sugary foods, etc. dairy breaks me out like a BITCH but only in america and it only makes me breakout on my chin, which is the hormone area, so if you get only pimples there, it's prob a hormone thing, and maybe a dairy thing..
also sometimes you just get acne and can't do anything about it so tips for that besides DRINK WATER. are obv wash your face. the thing w skincare is you want balance, so if you want a more intense, acne fighting cleanser w salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide etc, you should have a more gentle skincare routine and vice versa.
because i have dry skin, i like doing the simple and gentle face wash and use other products later to help. i think everyone should have at least a basic skincare routine like face wash and a moisturize and sunscreen. i do a bit more though to treat acne and my dryness. the brand COSRX is a really good one for acne, i get nasty white heads mainly and their whitehead power liquid gets rid of them in a day+ depending on the bugger. they've got stuff 4 blackheads, treatment patches, general clarifying toner, that are all great.
a big thing too is to not over pick them, let it run it's course unless it is starting to naturally pop!!!
a vitiamn c product will help w scarring, i love the pacifica sea and c love serum, and the ordinary ascorbic acid + arbutin serum is good too! there's more good ones out there, so do your research.
i'm gonna stress SUNSCREEN again bc while it wont fight your pimples, uv makes scarring worse!!!!!! get you a good sunscreen. the supergoop play! suncreen is lightweight and doesn't break me out :) supergoop is a great brand for sunscreen, and a more affordable option is sunbum, their face sunscreen doesn't break me out nor their all over body one which i have used on my face!
okay so that's off the top of my head... if you have any more questions/wanna tell me your specific skin type i might be able to help more but once again IM NOT A PROFESSIONAL just an acne grrrl..

okokok so i saw u talking ab ur skincare in the tags of a post n now i’m rly interested bc i know NOTHING n my skin is so dry HELP
im sorry i haven't answered this!!! i got some new stuff to add to my routine and i wanted to actually use it before i told ppl it was good or not!
but i GOT U OK my skin is super dry too, even when i was using a heavy moisturizer in the morning (usually around 5-6 am) i would be super super dry and flaky by my work break which is usually around 11!
***this is if i’m not wearing makeup! if i am, the makeup remover cleaners i use are Lush’s 9-5 cleansing balm, or if i’m feeling especially dry/during the winter, i use Lush’s Ultrabland, bc its a little more oil based and moisturizing! after these, the routine is the same!***
1. Lush’s Kalamazoo Cleanser: so this is pretty much the only face wash ive used this long and genuinely think has benefitted my skin! its actually a beard cleanser, but you can use it as a normal face wash too, and its exfoliating bc of the pineapple juice, it doesnt have any texture or beads or anything, so it’s pretty gentle!
2: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: this one im not going to outright recommend yet, ive only used it for a couple days, but its supposed to help w blemishes and breakouts! i dont have acne prone skin, but i am disabled + have chronic fatigue, so sometimes it’s hard for me to do all of this consistently (and by all of this i mean literally any of it tbh) and i tend to get a bit of acne in my T zone when i dont for a bit!
3. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: this brand is SO amazing and SO affordable!! this is a thin water-based formula, so i use it first! it makes my skin super soft, and i’ve been using it for about a week and have nothing bad to say about it! the very first time i sued this, i could immediately feel how soft and smooth my skin was after i finished my routine, it was shocking (i did in fact make my gf pet my face afterwards)
4: The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane: ok remember everything i said about how soft my face was after using step 3? multiply that times 20 and you’ve got this product. it’s an oil based formula, so it’s the last serum-like thing i use, and it is honestly unbelievable, like i said these products are so affordable to begin with, this one is roughly $7 i think? and you only use a few drops, so they last a long time!!!! this one helps w maintaining surface hydration without clogging ur pores n all that, and i absolutely love it even though i’ve only been using it since monday! so much so that when my cat spilled the majority of my bottle, i immediately went out today after work and bought another!
5: Lush’s Celestial Moisturizer: ok this one im not gonna say absolutely 100% go get this. it’s really nice, soaks in well, but is VERY expensive. i got a small sample size in a set from Lush, and ive been using it very very sparingly in only the dries parts of my face, but i wanted to mention it nonetheless.
6: The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA: ok THIS. MOISTURIZER. again, super affordable, about $7 for a decent sized tube, about the size of a face wash tube, and it is AMAZING. it keeps my skin so soft and so moisturized, no more being dry again after 4 hours! its a little heavy, but to be fair i do use a good amount, and it soaks in pretty quickly, probably about 10 minutes or so? and it doesnt make u feel greasy or clog ur pores!!!
so thats it for my daily stuff, but i do use one more product.
so i have pretty dry skin, but it also gets kinda dull and textured weirdly? like foundation doesnt rly sit right on my forehead and stuff, and one a week or so ive been using The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, which is a mild, at-home chemical peel type situation? it went semi viral on tiktok awhile back, its like a blood red color haha. it doesnt feel great, bc its acid, but it kinda feels like when u get hair bleach on ur skin for a minute or so and then it stops, and it just helps my skin look brighter, and also fades acne scars (which is great, bc i have a skin picking issue so i make things worse than they should be) but if u have sensitive skin this is probably a no-go

What was the last white lie you told: I honestly can't remember. And that's not just me saying "oh I never lie bc I'm a perfect angel blah blah blah". I try not to tell even white lies since I was about 18. I was a chronic liar as a defence mechanism since I was a kid and after a bunch of stuff happened my senior year of high school I tried very hard not to ever lie again. So I'm really not sure when I have.
Yeah heavy topics because I cant keep my mouth shut! A nice segway into: name one of your insecurities!!! Not my biggest one but it's up there: my skin. Or like, certain parts being exposed. It's no secret so whatever but trigger warning in case you're sensitive to it- I have self harm scars and honestly on my hands and arms you'd mistake them for just random accidents so it's fine but I'm also a chronic skin picker and have acne on my back, face and shoulders, so sometimes I'll have scabs and whatnot that won't heal for weeks bc i pick at them. So I'm a little insecure about showing skin sometimes just bc if people look close its awkward when they ask "oh my god what happened to your hands?!" Which psa for anyone. Don't do that.
